They Planned to Kill a Woman Every Week | Ireland’s First Serial Killers
In the summer of 1976, two Englishmen made a pact: abduct, rape, and murder one woman every single week until they were caught.
Geoffrey Evans and John Shaw turned the roads of Ireland into hunting grounds. They took Elizabeth Plunkett. Then they took Mary Duffy. One body was tied to a lawnmower and dumped in the sea. The other was weighted with concrete and sunk in a lake.
They confessed. They blamed each other. And to this day, one of those murders has never produced a single conviction.
This is the story of Ireland’s first serial killers… and the deadly schedule that almost continued.
