- 0:00[SPEAKER_01]: It's Fakia Friday!
- 0:01[SPEAKER_01]: Fakia!
- 0:02[SPEAKER_01]: Get ready for some wins!
- 0:05[SPEAKER_01]: Welcome to the Beat till you see it podcast, where we talk about taking messy action, knowing that perfect is boring.
- 0:12[SPEAKER_01]: I'm also Logan, prize instructor and fitness business coach.
- 0:15[SPEAKER_01]: I've trained thousands of people around the world, and the number one thing I see stopping people from achieving anything is self-doubt.
- 0:24[SPEAKER_01]: My friends, action brings clarity, and it's the antidote to fear.
- 0:30[SPEAKER_01]: Each week my guests will bring bold, executable, intrinsic, and targeted steps that you can use to put yourself first and be it till you see it.
- 0:40[SPEAKER_01]: It's a practice, not a perfect, let's get started.
- 0:47[SPEAKER_01]: Hi, Vipvay.
- 0:48[SPEAKER_01]: Welcome back to the FIFI episode.
- 0:50[SPEAKER_01]: The FIFI episode, the episode where we are inspired before we go into the weekend that we've been looking forward to.
- 0:56[SPEAKER_01]: I hope for you.
- 0:57[SPEAKER_01]: Also, we share your wins.
- 0:59[SPEAKER_01]: And the cool thing about that is that you get to want to inspire other people what a win is.
- 1:04[SPEAKER_01]: To when I share your win, you might actually need a reminder that you had that win.
- 1:09[SPEAKER_01]: I know I do.
- 1:09[SPEAKER_01]: I'm filming these before really for tour.
- 1:11[SPEAKER_01]: So I can't wait the while I'm on tour and probably a little tired of driving and getting a little tired of living out of the van because we're going on week three.
- 1:18[SPEAKER_01]: That I'll be remind you of the win I had.
- 1:19[SPEAKER_01]: I feel like oh yeah, I did that.
- 1:20[SPEAKER_01]: I'm amazing, right?
- 1:22[SPEAKER_01]: You're amazing.
- 1:22[SPEAKER_01]: We're all amazing because we're being at so we see it around here.
- 1:25[SPEAKER_01]: So first share something inspired me on the internet that I think you need to know.
- 1:28[SPEAKER_01]: So these are seven phrases to put some in their place.
- 1:31[SPEAKER_01]: without raising your voice.
- 1:32[SPEAKER_01]: So we'll put the link in the show notes so you can like save this for yourself as well.
- 1:36[SPEAKER_01]: But I thought this is really great because do you remember in you've got mail she's like I just wish I knew the right thing to say the right time and he's like well you have to like you know remember that whatever you say when you say what you're going to say you've to live with that and it's like yeah
- 1:50[SPEAKER_01]: But sometimes you've to put someone in your place and you want to do it without raising your voice because then you won't feel bad about it, correct?
- 1:54[SPEAKER_01]: I know I won't.
- 1:55[SPEAKER_01]: If I don't raise my voice, I could be, you know, like, I'm just giving someone candid information about how they're doing someone.
- 2:00[SPEAKER_01]: So here's number one.
- 2:02[SPEAKER_01]: You're not used to people holding you accountable.
- 2:04[SPEAKER_01]: That's not my problem.
- 2:06[SPEAKER_01]: Do this with a straight spine and a soft tone.
- 2:08[SPEAKER_01]: There's like actual little tips on these.
- 2:10[SPEAKER_01]: So number one, you're not used to people holding you accountable.
- 2:13[SPEAKER_01]: That's not my problem.
- 2:15[SPEAKER_01]: So I love that because some people don't like when we hold them accountable to things and they get frustrated and it's like, well, you get to be frustrated.
- 2:22[SPEAKER_01]: Like sometimes we'd be the less people have to learn.
- 2:23[SPEAKER_01]: All right, number two, you clearly thought I wouldn't respond.
- 2:26[SPEAKER_01]: That was your first mistake.
- 2:28[SPEAKER_01]: So I love this person one because they said, I don't argue I clarify.
- 2:31[SPEAKER_01]: So we're not an argument.
- 2:32[SPEAKER_01]: I'm clarifying you clearly thought I wouldn't respond.
- 2:35[SPEAKER_01]: That was your first mistake.
- 2:37[SPEAKER_01]: Number three, let's be honest, you weren't looking for a conversation, you were looking for control.
- 2:43[SPEAKER_01]: Number four, I'm not here to match disrespect.
- 2:45[SPEAKER_01]: I'm here to show you where it ends.
- 2:47[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, so good.
- 2:49[SPEAKER_01]: It's us to read it again.
- 2:49[SPEAKER_01]: I'm gonna read it one more time for you.
- 2:51[SPEAKER_01]: I'm not here to match disrespect.
- 2:52[SPEAKER_01]: I'm here to show you where it ends.
- 2:55[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, can you imagine?
- 2:56[SPEAKER_01]: Like, like, picture the person who's like being so disrespectful right now in your life and just like say, oh, practice that in your head.
- 3:02[SPEAKER_01]: Make sure you find a time to say it.
- 3:03[SPEAKER_01]: All right.
- 3:04[SPEAKER_01]: Number five, you don't get to play the victim when you started the fire.
- 3:09[SPEAKER_01]: That wants for the manipulative person in your life.
- 3:10[SPEAKER_01]: You don't get to play the victim when you start the fire.
- 3:13[SPEAKER_01]: Number six, keep the same energy when I stop responding completely.
- 3:19[SPEAKER_01]: So, you know, someone who's probably acting confused or raising their voice or like going to stuff, it's like, if you were really clear, then you can, you don't have to go back and forth with people.
- 3:28[SPEAKER_01]: This is definitely for the narcissist in your life.
- 3:30[SPEAKER_01]: Number seven, I don't raise my voice.
- 3:33[SPEAKER_01]: I raise a standard and now you know.
- 3:35[SPEAKER_01]: So this is basically saying, I met what I said and you just say it calmly.
- 3:38[SPEAKER_01]: All right.
- 3:40[SPEAKER_01]: So they also finished us up with saying, power isn't about shouting, it's about making someone rethink everything they just said without you even flenching.
- 3:47[SPEAKER_01]: So I think that's really important because I wasn't really taught to talk back to people.
- 3:55[SPEAKER_01]: And I think that was, that's fine.
- 3:56[SPEAKER_01]: My parents were well-intentioned.
- 3:57[SPEAKER_01]: It's not like a huge deal.
- 3:59[SPEAKER_01]: But sometimes I like, I'm the person who like leaves a conversation like, oh, I should have said that.
- 4:03[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, I should have said that.
- 4:04[SPEAKER_01]: And so like I just wanted to give some phrases to you in case you find yourself in a narcissistic manipulated or working with a contractor or someone that you've hired to do a project your home and they try to make you feel like you're stupid.
- 4:16[SPEAKER_01]: You are not stupid.
- 4:17[SPEAKER_01]: They were not clear or they they misrepresented a timeline that they couldn't do and so you know having phrases like this
- 4:25[SPEAKER_01]: and others in your back pocket will help you continue to be in control of what you can control right and you can you can control people say or do or think about you but you can stand up for yourself and demand the respect that you deserve so anyways hopefully those help let me know if you use any of them okay this is a win from Jennifer Lapina she's an elevate grad she said just wanted to say how much I appreciate the pilati system
- 4:51[SPEAKER_01]: Since elevate, that's my mentorship program, guys.
- 4:54[SPEAKER_01]: I have embraced incorporating Matt exercises into my private lessons.
- 4:58[SPEAKER_01]: Previously, I felt pressured to teach physical equipment per client expectation.
- 5:02[SPEAKER_01]: Now I always start newbies with Matt and only pepper and springs in the fun stuff when I feel they're ready for the connection.
- 5:08[SPEAKER_01]: Always referring them to the shape and are feeling of doing XYZ.
- 5:12[SPEAKER_01]: As I've seen clients experience my new way of teaching, I can definitely see them progress and embody it quicker.
- 5:17[SPEAKER_01]: And much to my surprise, if given the choice, most of my clients will choose to take it to the mat, apply this so much more than mere exercise.
- 5:25[SPEAKER_01]: I love seeing the satisfaction in their faces when they can finally do the thing that frustrated them for weeks or even months prior.
- 5:32[SPEAKER_01]: I've recently had a long-term client master something and I asked her what made it click.
- 5:36[SPEAKER_01]: She looks surprised and simply said that it was the way I taught her.
- 5:39[SPEAKER_01]: grateful for the compliment, but honestly, it's not me, it's a system, it just works.
- 5:43[SPEAKER_01]: Jennifer Lapina, I couldn't agree more.
- 5:46[SPEAKER_01]: It's really something that I'm so grateful for that I get to use the system that I, that I, I'm not having to make things up or take.
- 5:56[SPEAKER_01]: on something like Joe gave us this wonderful system and I guess get to use it and I get to use it for the client that's in front of me and what they mean and it means that there's not right and wrong or black and white there's just like what is right for you today and that kind of practice that's why I love play so much that kind of practice is something we get it
- 6:15[SPEAKER_01]: In our minds, we get it in our bodies, we get in our clients' bodies.
- 6:18[SPEAKER_01]: You guys, and it helps you with other things you're doing in your life.
- 6:21[SPEAKER_01]: What is right for me today?
- 6:22[SPEAKER_01]: What is my body need?
- 6:23[SPEAKER_01]: What a great practice you can have there.
- 6:25[SPEAKER_01]: What a great way to honor yourself and listen to what your body is.
- 6:28[SPEAKER_01]: So, way to go, Jennifer, thank you for sharing and congratulations and all you've done.
- 6:32[SPEAKER_01]: Okay, so Brad and I started a hiking tradition.
- 6:36[SPEAKER_01]: I just want to share it with you because we obviously don't
- 6:39[SPEAKER_01]: are not in town every single day or every single weekend.
- 6:41[SPEAKER_01]: In fact, we haven't been in town for a couple of weeks.
- 6:43[SPEAKER_01]: But when we lived in LA, it was a hike at least one time a month, maybe two.
- 6:47[SPEAKER_01]: And depending on travel, and we were running too soon.
- 6:51[SPEAKER_01]: It was never like this like thing we had, like we're professionals.
- 6:55[SPEAKER_01]: And then we, you know, moved to Vegas and we kind of got out of hiking because of the system or weather here, so we thought.
- 7:01[SPEAKER_01]: And so we never really invested in the shoes.
- 7:04[SPEAKER_01]: We also had dogs that couldn't really hike, but by own code.
- 7:07[SPEAKER_01]: And we'd be on the road.
- 7:08[SPEAKER_01]: We're like, oh, it's fine, like a hike or a trail, but like we're kind of out of hiking, shaped to be completely honest.
- 7:13[SPEAKER_01]: And now that we have one dog and we live in an area that we drive for thirty minutes, it's like twenty degrees cooler or even more.
- 7:21[SPEAKER_01]: And so we started going hiking and we went to the store, got shoes for the dog, got shoes for ourselves, truly invested in this like hobby.
- 7:29[SPEAKER_01]: And I have to say, if we listen to podcasts for while you know I've been a hobby hunting, I am loving that we're hiking again.
- 7:36[SPEAKER_01]: Oh my god, I didn't need a new hobby.
- 7:38[SPEAKER_01]: I need to return to another hobby I used to have.
- 7:41[SPEAKER_01]: And I absolutely love it.
- 7:43[SPEAKER_01]: And we can't hike it all the trails that are near us because of the heat.
- 7:46[SPEAKER_01]: But when the fall comes, we're ready to hike those ones.
- 7:49[SPEAKER_01]: And so it's quite cool being able to do that.
- 7:51[SPEAKER_01]: And so you're like, how is this a win?
- 7:53[SPEAKER_01]: The win is one we like said let's do it and then on was like Memorial Day it was like oh should we go hiking today and like of course we could have been like oh we got to clean the closet sound we got to do these things or seventeen other things on our schedule to do but it's like no we said we want to go hiking this weekend it's the last day of the weekend let's go hiking and we went and it was absolutely so much fun
- 8:15[SPEAKER_01]: until the next weekend we went and got shoes and went straight to a hike and on this tour we've done several hikes and I'm just really excited to see where this goes and so if you need a moral of the story, if you said you wanted to do something give yourself permission to go do it.
- 8:30[SPEAKER_01]: Right?
- 8:31[SPEAKER_01]: Yes, you're busy.
- 8:31[SPEAKER_01]: Yes, there's a million things you can be doing.
- 8:33[SPEAKER_01]: But you know what?
- 8:34[SPEAKER_01]: I have our greatest single hike we've done.
- 8:37[SPEAKER_01]: And it's really fun to see the dog really enjoy it.
- 8:39[SPEAKER_01]: It gets exercise.
- 8:40[SPEAKER_01]: We get exercise.
- 8:41[SPEAKER_01]: So, a little bit of investment financially.
- 8:44[SPEAKER_01]: And now it's just the time.
- 8:45[SPEAKER_01]: And it's great.
- 8:46[SPEAKER_01]: It's really fun.
- 8:47[SPEAKER_01]: We also, if you listen to the last step, we have, we are not really on our phones.
- 8:50[SPEAKER_01]: You know, like, I have the trail map out so that I like know that we're going somewhere, but like, we're not checking email, we're not checking texts.
- 8:58[SPEAKER_01]: We're not, we're like, I don't even listen to a podcast.
- 9:00[SPEAKER_01]: We're just listening to the sounds of the, of the nature.
- 9:03[SPEAKER_01]: And it's really quite grounding.
- 9:05[SPEAKER_01]: And I like chaotic life.
- 9:07[SPEAKER_01]: It's something that we need.
- 9:07[SPEAKER_01]: So my win is pick back up hiking and we're, it took us five years to hike in this town.
- 9:14[SPEAKER_01]: And I regret that we waited this long, but I'm super, super happy that we're doing it now.
- 9:18[SPEAKER_01]: All right.
- 9:20[SPEAKER_01]: Here's a mantra for you.
- 9:22[SPEAKER_01]: I am worthy of investing myself, so today's this weekend's mantra for you is I am worthy of investing in myself.
- 9:30[SPEAKER_01]: I'm worthy of investing in myself.
- 9:32[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, don't you like how you say differently?
- 9:33[SPEAKER_01]: It sounds even cool.
- 9:34[SPEAKER_01]: I am worthy of investing in myself.
- 9:36[SPEAKER_01]: Yes.
- 9:37[SPEAKER_01]: All right.
- 9:37[SPEAKER_01]: Go invest in yourself, Dave.
- 9:39[SPEAKER_01]: So send your questions or your wins and to be a pod.com slash questions.
- 9:43[SPEAKER_01]: You can send in many questions and many wins.
- 9:46[SPEAKER_01]: We can't wait to share them with people.

- 9:51[SPEAKER_01]: The podcast grows because of you.
