- 0:05Welcome to The Hypnotist, the show that gives you inside
- 0:09access to cutting edge hypnosis with real clients facing
- 0:12genuine. Issues.
- 0:13Brought to you by The Hypnotherapist, demanded by
- 0:16celebrities CE OS and even royalty Adam Cox, these
- 0:21recordings took place live from Evans Clinic in London's world
- 0:24famous Harley Street. So get yourself comfortable and
- 0:31enjoy today's episode of The Hypnotist.
- 0:39Hi, it's Adam here. Now, I don't know about you, but
- 0:43do you find yourself getting nervous or anxious perhaps in
- 0:48presentations or informal gatherings?
- 0:52A lot of people do. And the client that I was
- 0:53working with in this particular session would have a weekly
- 0:58huddle where they would present to their team of about 35
- 1:01people. And they would get anxious.
- 1:04And sometimes that anxiety would get a bit too high where they
- 1:09felt like they couldn't breathe, they couldn't talk.
- 1:12Not great if you are actually presenting to a room full of
- 1:16people. This hypnosis session is
- 1:18designed to make a high stakes environment where the anxiety
- 1:22was linked to a fear of judgement.
- 1:24And that fear of judgement was linked to a fear of losing the
- 1:28respect of people that they really respected and and valued.
- 1:32That takes the conversation with the team and turns it into a
- 1:35really high stakes environment of catastrophization.
- 1:39This hypnosis session helps them feel resourceful, calm,
- 1:43confident, something they get to do rather than have to do, and
- 1:47well within their comfort zone. And also there are certain
- 1:51coping strategies like deep breaths or asking for the input
- 1:56of other people within the actual open conversational or
- 2:00informal gathering or huddle. That they had.
- 2:04And if you get out of jail free cards, and the key to a get out
- 2:07of jail free card, to use this Monopoly metaphor, is to have
- 2:11something that you're probably never going to need.
- 2:13But just knowing that you have it is enough of a help.
- 2:17So if anxiety is caused by the possibility of getting anxious,
- 2:23and you know that even if you get anxious there's something
- 2:25that you can do to immediately take the attention away from
- 2:29you, then that in itself reduces the.
- 2:31Anxiety. Because you know that you have a
- 2:34contingency in place. So there's a bit going on in
- 2:37this session. At the core of it, it's feeling
- 2:40resourceful and confident in a more.
- 2:43Extreme gathering. Of 500 people so that when they
- 2:47present to their team of 35 people, it feels well within
- 2:51reach. It was created for an
- 2:53individual, a founder of a business.
- 2:56Some of the suggestions might not be relevant to you, so if
- 2:58you do like the idea of a hypnosis session bespoke and
- 3:03customized for you and your circumstances, there will be a
- 3:06link in the show notes in the actual file description here
- 3:10where you can schedule a free consultation call to explore
- 3:13working with me. For now, though, find a quiet,
- 3:16comfortable place where you're not going to be distracted or
- 3:18disturbed. Relax and enjoy the session.
- 3:32Take a deep breath in, and as you breathe in, breathe in
- 3:40deeper than you normally would. And as you exhale, set the
- 3:47intention to breathe out for longer than you normally would.
- 3:55And as you breathe in, breathe in a feeling of resourcefulness.
- 4:00And as you exhale, release any fear of judgement, any standards
- 4:08that are just excessively high. It's good to have high
- 4:14standards, but impossible or unfair standards are no longer
- 4:22needed to allow them to be released in that long outward
- 4:28breath. Breathing in a feeling of
- 4:32resourceful relaxation and exhaling any tension, stress, or
- 4:39worries. That's it.
- 4:42And the deeper you breathe, the more relaxed you feel.
- 4:49And the more relaxed you feel, the deeper you breathe.
- 4:57That's it. As your body relaxes, your
- 5:03imagination awakens. I want you to think of a memory,
- 5:12the time when you felt in rhythm, in flow, you found
- 5:20authentic, congruent, exuding integrity.
- 5:28I want you to observe that version of you presenting
- 5:33updates ideas in a genuine, authentic way.
- 5:42I want you to observe the version of you that is so
- 5:49aligned with that authentic, genuine version of them that
- 6:00they are immune to judgement. Water of a duck's bag when you
- 6:10can recall that time when that was you, that all the necessary
- 6:16beliefs, strategies, and ways of thinking were there in you, let
- 6:20me know by nodding your head. And then step into that version
- 6:26of you. Activate the version of you that
- 6:33knows you deserve to say what needs to be said.
- 6:44No need to sugarcoat spin. Saying it as it is, and when you
- 6:54feel that you're willing to say what needs to be said, to share
- 7:01updates, where people need to be updated, you are simply the
- 7:09vessel, the messenger. You are the conduit.
- 7:20I want you to get a feeling of how comfortable that feels.
- 7:27And then imagine having that feeling, feeling relaxed,
- 7:31confident and calm. And then imagine a particular
- 7:38space that you might share information around, a huddle.
- 7:45Maybe there's a particular place that you would sit or stand, and
- 7:52just imagine sitting or standing in that place.
- 7:57And I want you to imagine that people start to arrive and just
- 8:04notice how long that outward breath is.
- 8:10Not by design, it just happens to be that way.
- 8:15And the longer you breathe out, the more you breathe in and the
- 8:21more oxygen you have. And I want you to see people
- 8:27arriving, sitting, standing, perching.
- 8:33I want you to feel how natural it feels to engage and interact
- 8:38in. Small conversations early.
- 8:45I want you to get a sense that you already know how to have
- 8:50conversations, and you can have a conversation with one person,
- 8:58which means you can have a. Conversation with.
- 9:00Two or three at the same time, which means you can have a
- 9:04conversation with more than 30 and it makes no difference.
- 9:13I want you to activate that part that couldn't care less who is
- 9:20there. You will say what needs to be
- 9:24said. You've earned your place to say
- 9:27it, and because you're saying what needs to be said, you are
- 9:34immune from any judgement. People can have opinions just as
- 9:40you have yours, and that's all they are.
- 9:47I want you to imagine you're starting to share the general
- 9:54updates, and as you do, more people arrive and I want you to
- 10:02feel empowered, inspired, emboldened.
- 10:11It reaches a point where it doesn't matter if it's 515 or
- 10:1550, you're just sharing what needs to be shared.
- 10:24I want you to feel empowered by it.
- 10:28You don't have to do this. You get to do this.
- 10:33You choose what you say, how you say it, your tonality, your
- 10:40rhythm, it's all yours. And even if you feel anxious,
- 10:49that's just evidence of your authenticity.
- 10:53And even if you struggle for the occasional breath, you're 2
- 10:59breaths away from feeling completely composed, relaxed,
- 11:06and empowered. And even if you felt that there
- 11:14was a moment where you couldn't talk in the same rhythm that you
- 11:21would normally talk, you have so many options.
- 11:28Ask a question, ask for an opinion.
- 11:36If someone wants to contribute, pass the baton to someone else
- 11:43that could take over on that point before they hand the baton
- 11:47back to you. Or even play a recording.
- 11:53A recording that isn't random but intentional, something that
- 12:00would make sense to play whenever it needed to be played.
- 12:07I want you to think of how many flights you've been on in your
- 12:11life. And all of them, all of them had
- 12:18those safety vests. All of them had those breathing
- 12:24masks, and not once have you needed to use it.
- 12:31That's what a contingency is. You feel safe for knowing it's
- 12:35there, knowing that you never need to use it, but you can if
- 12:43you really need to. As you breathe in and breathe
- 12:47out, imagine a huddle of 500 people.
- 12:54I want you to imagine the most intimidating faces, people with
- 13:01incredible track records, strong opinions, extreme personalities,
- 13:09unpredictability, and still connect with that feeling of
- 13:14feeling calm, composed, and that you deserve to be there.
- 13:22Feel the muscles in your cheeks smiling when you're talking, and
- 13:27notice how your belly moves rather than your chest when you
- 13:30breathe. And notice that when your
- 13:35attention is on the people in the room rather than yourself,
- 13:41the words naturally come. I want you to get a sense that
- 13:50what if the next few weeks are a gift, an opportunity for you to.
- 13:58Really feel comfortable. So that when things return to
- 14:04their normal patterns and rhythms, you feel that whenever
- 14:11you need to host something on your own, you can do it.
- 14:16In the same way you don't think about driving a short journey,
- 14:21you just know you can do it. I wonder how long it will be
- 14:28before these huddles and gatherings feel.
- 14:33So. Far within your comfort zone.
- 14:38It always feels like you don't need to think about it or
- 14:40prepare because it's so within your field of competency.
- 14:52Feel how you would feel if you were immune to being judged.
- 15:03Connect to that feeling that this is a low stake situation
- 15:11and your resources vastly exceed the demands you're choosing to
- 15:18be there. It's a privilege to share
- 15:22updates with a team built around a vision.
- 15:29This is no punishment, no chore, a gift, a privilege.
- 15:37And the more you do it, the easier it becomes.
- 15:42And the easier it becomes, the more you enjoy it.
- 15:46Until one day you can imagine a bigger team, a bigger huddle,
- 15:55sharing important information and it feels like a walk in the
- 15:59park. And then imagine it going from
- 16:06500 people to 35. Imagine those people and feel
- 16:12that in contrast, it feels well within your capabilities.
- 16:23And even if there's a question, you can handle it.
- 16:28Even if there's anxiety, you're 2 breaths away from releasing
- 16:32it. And even if you feel whatever
- 16:40you feel, it's all temporary and real and manageable, and when
- 16:48you're unconscious, accepts that this is within the realms of
- 16:53your competency and capability. A low stakes situation where
- 16:59nothing bad can happen. Let me know by nodding your
- 17:03head. That's it.
- 17:12And that part is giving you permission to relax, release,
- 17:20and even enjoy. And then imagine that gathering
- 17:30comes to an end and maybe you feel not relief, but pride.
- 17:39You've been true to yourself, said what needed to be said.
- 17:46You've been authentic, and that's enough.
- 17:53You've decided that being authentic and real and genuine
- 17:59is worth more than being perfect.
- 18:05And as you accept that change, the stakes get lowered even more
- 18:13and you feel emboldened, empowered, and inspired, looking
- 18:18forward to the next opportunity to host that huddle.
- 18:25So take a deep breath in through your nose and down through your
- 18:30nose. Wiggle your fingers and wiggle
- 18:33your toes. Connect and calibrate into the
- 18:35here and the now as I now count from 1:00 to 10:00 to awaken
- 18:42you. Starting to count 123 waking up
- 18:48456 more alert 7-8. Open your eyes.
- 18:52Open your eyes, 910. Wide awake, wide awake, wide
- 18:58awake. Thank you so much for joining me
