- 1:00Speaker 5: E J.
- 1:00Speaker 4: What's up, brother?
- 1:01Speaker 5: What's up?
- 1:02Speaker 6: Guys?
- 1:02Speaker 5: Good morning?
- 1:03Speaker 7: Has you You and I both know we always talk
- 1:05Speaker 7: in the afternoon, so this is a.
- 1:06Speaker 5: Little different, you know, like my routines off.
- 1:09Speaker 7: And I'm just kidding. I'm happy to be joining you guys.
- 1:11Speaker 7: And uh, first and foremost, I want to say what's
- 1:13Speaker 7: something Matt Flynn.
- 1:15Speaker 5: Since we talked.
- 1:16Speaker 7: I'm doing well, man, I'm doing well, Matt. A lot
- 1:18Speaker 7: has changed since the last time you and I, uh,
- 1:21Speaker 7: you know, shared the field together. I got a family,
- 1:23Speaker 7: I got a wife, I got kids, that kind of stuff.
- 1:27Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, man, I'm good, Man, I'm great.
- 1:30Speaker 8: I think the last time that we were in the
- 1:32Speaker 8: same room together, we were in probably some of the
- 1:36Speaker 8: greatest football meetings I've ever been led by the great
- 1:41Speaker 8: Nathaniel Hackett, which is that was like my first question
- 1:44Speaker 8: coming to you is like, look, we me and you
- 1:46Speaker 8: have shared some coaches. Some have left some scar tissue.
- 1:50Speaker 8: Nathaniel Hackett certainly was it one of them?
- 1:53Speaker 5: Uh?
- 1:53Speaker 8: Like he had like the most, the craziest, the funniest,
- 1:56Speaker 8: like the He's one of those guys every player love, right,
- 2:00Speaker 8: And I know he had his woes as a head
- 2:02Speaker 8: coach and tumultious like a couple of years whatever it is,
- 2:05Speaker 8: But I wanted to ask you about him, like from
- 2:07Speaker 8: all the coaches you had, and I know you're you
- 2:11Speaker 8: were with the Raiders and then a little bit with
- 2:13Speaker 8: the Chiefs, blah blah blah, kind of like me towards
- 2:15Speaker 8: the end a couple of couple of different teams, like
- 2:16Speaker 8: real quick there at the end. But when I look
- 2:19Speaker 8: back at my time, like, I think that Nathaniel Hackett
- 2:21Speaker 8: was probably the funniest and coolest coach.
- 2:25Speaker 2: And I was like, man, I spent three weeks with him.
- 2:27Speaker 8: I would I wanted to ask you about him and
- 2:28Speaker 8: about like the last couple of years in his career.
- 2:31Speaker 7: Yeah, So Nate Hackett great person. I think the biggest
- 2:35Speaker 7: thing I would say about Nate is that he really
- 2:37Speaker 7: cared right as far as being offensive coordinator when you know,
- 2:41Speaker 7: he was with us in Buffalo, and he was kind
- 2:43Speaker 7: of the quasi quarterback coach too, because my first year
- 2:45Speaker 7: we didn't have one, if you remember Matt, and so
- 2:47Speaker 7: Nate was kind of, you know, hands on with me.
- 2:49Speaker 5: As a rookie.
- 2:50Speaker 7: And you know, going from Jimbo Fisher to Nathaniel Hackett
- 2:54Speaker 7: was different.
- 2:55Speaker 5: You know, Jimbo was.
- 2:56Speaker 7: Much more down your eyes crossing your t's and Nate
- 2:59Speaker 7: was kind of just let's just put some letters out
- 3:01Speaker 7: there and just have some fun, truthfully, and so at
- 3:04Speaker 7: one point it was it was free. It was fun,
- 3:08Speaker 7: but I did enjoy that structure that I had from Jimbo.
- 3:11Speaker 5: I didn't.
- 3:11Speaker 7: I did enjoy you know, at times, guys, when y'all
- 3:14Speaker 7: both been coached by I'm getting chewed out, you know,
- 3:16Speaker 7: if things weren't going right. And I looking back on it,
- 3:19Speaker 7: you know, I felt like that was kind of what
- 3:21Speaker 7: helped me be so locked in and be consistent and
- 3:24Speaker 7: you know, really hold myself to the highest standard. Now
- 3:26Speaker 7: as athletes, we always hold ourselves to a higher standard.
- 3:28Speaker 7: But that was just kind of the coaching style difference
- 3:30Speaker 7: between Nate and Jimbo.
- 3:33Speaker 5: But you know, I look back on it too. Nate
- 3:35Speaker 5: was young, and you.
- 3:37Speaker 7: Know, Matt, you know this as a QB when you
- 3:40Speaker 7: come into the league, man, it is nice to have
- 3:42Speaker 7: either a veteran head coach or veteran offensive coordinator, veteran
- 3:45Speaker 7: quarterback coach, or a veteran like yourself in the room
- 3:47Speaker 7: with you. And I didn't really get any of that,
- 3:50Speaker 7: and then not making excuses. You know, this is far,
- 3:53Speaker 7: you know, it's ten eleven to twelve years ago, but
- 3:55Speaker 7: I think, looking back on it, it would have been
- 3:58Speaker 7: nice to have you there, truthfully, bro, And I'm that
- 4:00Speaker 7: sincerely because I was trying to learn how to be
- 4:03Speaker 7: a pro, you know, and on a field, you go
- 4:04Speaker 7: out there, you make the throws, you go through reads.
- 4:06Speaker 7: That stuff is a part playing ball. But I think
- 4:09Speaker 7: the Monday through Saturday of being a pro and win
- 4:14Speaker 7: the show up and how to do a meeting with
- 4:15Speaker 7: the offensive line for protections, and how to talk to
- 4:17Speaker 7: your backs about hey, you need to pick this up,
- 4:19Speaker 7: those little small nuances. Nate didn't really know that stuff,
- 4:22Speaker 7: you know, because he.
- 4:23Speaker 5: You know, he was a new offensive coordinator in the league,
- 4:26Speaker 5: and so I was kind of learning by fire a
- 4:27Speaker 5: little bit.
- 4:28Speaker 7: But I got a lot of respect for Nick Hackett,
- 4:29Speaker 7: and I know he put in a lot of.
- 4:31Speaker 5: Time and effort to help me grow as a young player.
- 4:34Speaker 3: See, you got Jimbo too as a head coach, like
- 4:37Speaker 3: we got him for multiple years. Matt had him for four.
- 4:39Speaker 3: I had him for three as an offensive coordinator, and
- 4:42Speaker 3: I would have loved it every day.
- 4:44Speaker 8: In the film, right, I assume since he was a
- 4:46Speaker 8: head coach, he wasn't with you like everything.
- 4:49Speaker 5: He was with us every day.
- 4:53Speaker 4: You ever left y'all side.
- 4:54Speaker 5: No, No, he was always in the quarterback room.
- 4:57Speaker 7: Look, Jimbo is who he is, man, And I'm sure
- 4:59Speaker 7: when he was the A and M maybe he started
- 5:01Speaker 7: to delegate a little bit because I know he had
- 5:03Speaker 7: another coach coming in and.
- 5:05Speaker 5: Calling players this last year there.
- 5:06Speaker 7: But you know, when I was at Florida State, and
- 5:08Speaker 7: really that was the expectation when he was recruiting me.
- 5:11Speaker 5: I've told both of you this story.
- 5:12Speaker 7: It was between Florida State and LSU, and so I
- 5:15Speaker 7: was a huge fan of you guys, saw your championship run.
- 5:18Speaker 7: And then Jimbo leaves and goes to Florida State and
- 5:20Speaker 7: then he starts recruiting at FSU, and so I really
- 5:23Speaker 7: wanted to play for him because I had a respect
- 5:24Speaker 7: for how he reared up his quarterbacks, like Matt Flynn,
- 5:27Speaker 7: like JaMarcus Wells, so like Rohan Davy, those kind of guys,
- 5:29Speaker 7: Matt Mock and so I wanted to play under that
- 5:32Speaker 7: type of tutelage.
- 5:34Speaker 5: But then I saw the greatness of LSU.
- 5:36Speaker 7: I saw the dopeness of the Death Valley and the
- 5:39Speaker 7: lights and the you know, the flair, and again, you
- 5:41Speaker 7: guys have just came up a championship. But yeah, Jimbo
- 5:43Speaker 7: spent a ton of time with us. I'd say ninety
- 5:45Speaker 7: nine point nine percent of the time he was in
- 5:47Speaker 7: the quarterback room as a head coach, of Florida State.
- 5:50Speaker 3: Oh, baby, y'all had, did y'all have Coley? Was he
- 5:53Speaker 3: there with y'all as well?
- 5:54Speaker 4: At Florist?
- 5:54Speaker 5: They did? We did.
- 5:55Speaker 7: We had James Coley who was our tight ends coach.
- 5:57Speaker 7: Technically Coley was the yoc.
- 5:59Speaker 4: But Jimbo will let nobody else call anything.
- 6:02Speaker 7: Yeah, And Damian Craig was also our quarterback coach, and
- 6:05Speaker 7: I believe he was with you guys at something.
- 6:07Speaker 3: Yeah, we have both those guys. So that was that
- 6:09Speaker 3: was both of our gas. And what year would that
- 6:11Speaker 3: have been?
- 6:12Speaker 2: Flying? Uh?
- 6:13Speaker 7: Four? O?
- 6:14Speaker 8: Foley was there four because he would run the scout
- 6:17Speaker 8: team with Jordan Rivers. So Coley was running scout team
- 6:20Speaker 8: when and I was playing a lot of scouts and
- 6:22Speaker 8: he was he had just got there and he would
- 6:24Speaker 8: just run around with the with the with the drawings,
- 6:28Speaker 8: the play what's.
- 6:30Speaker 2: What's come on?
- 6:32Speaker 5: You gotta get there and.
- 6:37Speaker 4: Then he's had a whole of a career though.
- 6:40Speaker 7: Oh I'm pretty sure he's still at Georgia if I'm
- 6:42Speaker 7: not mistaken.
- 6:43Speaker 3: Yeah, he's achievers coach there. But he's been the coordinator there,
- 6:45Speaker 3: He's been a coordinator at A and M. I mean
- 6:47Speaker 3: he's been some big places.
- 6:49Speaker 7: Oh yeah, well look James Coley again, great person first
- 6:52Speaker 7: and foremost, and great family, and uh he's done an
- 6:55Speaker 7: excellent job.
- 6:55Speaker 5: And you know, he's a Miami guy.
- 6:57Speaker 7: And so now that I live in South Florida, he
- 6:59Speaker 7: and I try to keep in touched whenever he's down here,
- 7:01Speaker 7: try to see him.
- 7:01Speaker 5: But yeah, you know, I think back on those times.
- 7:04Speaker 7: You know, when we're in eighteen nineteen twenty, it's still
- 7:06Speaker 7: kind of a kid, and so those.
- 7:08Speaker 5: Guys were like extra dads or extra uncles, brothers, whatever
- 7:12Speaker 5: you want to call them.
- 7:13Speaker 7: So that's how I was raised, you know, by Jimbo,
- 7:15Speaker 7: by James Coley, by Damian Craig.
- 7:16Speaker 5: And I want to give D. Craig a ton of
- 7:18Speaker 5: love too.
- 7:18Speaker 7: I believe he's at Georgia State, and uh man, I
- 7:21Speaker 7: can remember those off seasons where you couldn't really spend
- 7:24Speaker 7: time with the coaches and all that kind of stuff.
- 7:26Speaker 7: I would go to his office and he would, you know,
- 7:28Speaker 7: write up scripts for me to learn protections. Sometime I
- 7:30Speaker 7: really learn them, you know what I mean, because during
- 7:32Speaker 7: the season you don't really have that much time to really
- 7:34Speaker 7: hone in on certain things. And D Craig, I give
- 7:36Speaker 7: him a lot of credit for how he kind of
- 7:37Speaker 7: helped me, you know, beyond just throwing the ball and
- 7:40Speaker 7: all that kind of stuff, the actual smarts and intelligence
- 7:42Speaker 7: of playing the position.
- 7:43Speaker 5: He helped me a ton, all.
- 7:45Speaker 3: Right, DJ, So I wanted to have you on today
- 7:48Speaker 3: to kind of talk quarterbacks in this upcoming year because
- 7:51Speaker 3: you and I talk about it every single day. We'll
- 7:53Speaker 3: probably talk about it again later this afternoon. This is
- 7:55Speaker 3: a special year, feels like for quarterbacks, and we know
- 8:00Speaker 3: the guy that's here and Garrett Nesmeyer very excited to
- 8:03Speaker 3: see what he does in your number two. But I
- 8:04Speaker 3: wouldn't have you on to talk a little Kate club Nick.
- 8:07Speaker 3: That's who LSU plays in the opening week. You and
- 8:10Speaker 3: I have talked about that game so much already. We
- 8:13Speaker 3: went and linked, you know with the last two days.
- 8:15Speaker 3: I think over on off campus for LSU fans that
- 8:18Speaker 3: don't maybe know who Kay Clubnick is. Who is he
- 8:22Speaker 3: and how have you seen him grow and develop at Clemson.
- 8:25Speaker 7: Yeah, he's a four year starter for one, and you know,
- 8:28Speaker 7: I know he didn't start the full first year as
- 8:30Speaker 7: a freshman, but he played a bunch because DJ younger
- 8:32Speaker 7: lay was getting subbed out. But I think you have
- 8:34Speaker 7: a player in Kate Clubnick who has gone through the fire.
- 8:37Speaker 7: And what I mean by that is he came in
- 8:39Speaker 7: with the expectation of being the next Trevor Lawrence, so
- 8:42Speaker 7: the next Deshaun Watson. And all he's done is won
- 8:45Speaker 7: two ACC championships last year taking his team to the CFP,
- 8:49Speaker 7: And I really felt like he's grown every week, not
- 8:52Speaker 7: even just year to year. Like covering the ACC network,
- 8:56Speaker 7: I've seen kid grow as a person newly and stature
- 9:00Speaker 7: because when he got that Clemson he was kind of
- 9:01Speaker 7: a lean kid, kind of skinny truthfully, not a big guy.
- 9:04Speaker 7: So he's obviously put you know, a lot of weight
- 9:06Speaker 7: on because now he's maturre he's about probably twenty one,
- 9:08Speaker 7: twenty two years old Roman. But also his timing, his
- 9:12Speaker 7: patience in the pocket, his knowing when to take off
- 9:15Speaker 7: and run and when to sit back there and allow
- 9:17Speaker 7: receiver to kind of do his thing at the top
- 9:19Speaker 7: of a route and come open. So look, I know
- 9:22Speaker 7: that's at the Clemson version of Death Valley. But I'll
- 9:24Speaker 7: tell you what for the LSU fans that don't know
- 9:27Speaker 7: about this guy, man, this dude is tough as hell.
- 9:29Speaker 5: Like he is tough, he can run, He'll put a
- 9:31Speaker 5: shoulder down and.
- 9:32Speaker 7: He'll try to run through some guys, which I wouldn't
- 9:34Speaker 7: have buy as Kate, But he's that kind of competitor.
- 9:37Speaker 7: And I think you're really going to see two quarterbacks
- 9:40Speaker 7: in that game that are probably be top five picks.
- 9:42Speaker 7: But kay club that could certainly be the number one
- 9:44Speaker 7: overall pick if he has a season.
- 9:45Speaker 5: I'm expecting him to.
- 9:47Speaker 2: Ye.
- 9:47Speaker 8: I want to actually like take a take a step
- 9:49Speaker 8: back and look at this past draft. I want to
- 9:51Speaker 8: talk a little bit about camp Ward. Yeah, going to
- 9:54Speaker 8: Tennessee number one draft pick. I mean you have this
- 9:56Speaker 8: experience about being a first round pick and going to
- 9:59Speaker 8: a spot that that you know is a place that
- 10:03Speaker 8: needs a little help, right, and you need some help.
- 10:05Speaker 8: Kim Ward gives us play. He is had such great stats,
- 10:09Speaker 8: great college career. How do you think he translates to
- 10:13Speaker 8: Tennessee specifically not just the NFL, but in the position
- 10:17Speaker 8: that he's going to be with the supporting staff around him,
- 10:19Speaker 8: a team that has really struggled. I mean, they just
- 10:21Speaker 8: had a first rounder a couple of years ago that
- 10:24Speaker 8: is not who they wanted it to be. Whether that's
- 10:27Speaker 8: his fault, through the organization's fault. But how do you
- 10:29Speaker 8: see that transition.
- 10:31Speaker 7: I see the transition smooth for cam Ward. And there's
- 10:34Speaker 7: two big reasons. One is the head coach is Brian Callahan,
- 10:37Speaker 7: and CALLI was my quarterback coach my last year in Oakland.
- 10:40Speaker 7: And I say that because of the personality fit between
- 10:44Speaker 7: Brian Callahan and cam Ward.
- 10:46Speaker 5: And we all know as a quarterback.
- 10:47Speaker 7: Especially when you get drafted and then when you get
- 10:49Speaker 7: drafted high, you're like best friends.
- 10:51Speaker 5: You guys are kind of like tied by the hip.
- 10:52Speaker 7: You know, you use the head coach or the coordinator
- 10:55Speaker 7: and that QB and so I know that's going to
- 10:57Speaker 7: mess well. And I even told him this because I
- 10:59Speaker 7: covered his pro day and I saw Callahan kind of
- 11:02Speaker 7: following him everywhere he went. Like I'm talking about CALLI
- 11:04Speaker 7: was probably five to ten feet radius wise from cam
- 11:07Speaker 7: Ward the entire day. And I told cam I said, look,
- 11:10Speaker 7: if you end up going to Tennessee, that guy is
- 11:12Speaker 7: going to help you. That guy's going to spend a
- 11:14Speaker 7: ton of time and make sure you have success. And
- 11:16Speaker 7: I think that's so important when you, as a head coach,
- 11:18Speaker 7: have a vested interest to have success for your young quarterbacks.
- 11:21Speaker 7: Sometimes guys especially they didn't play the position, you know,
- 11:24Speaker 7: they don't really get it right. And no disrespect to
- 11:26Speaker 7: guys who didn't play that position, but they don't really
- 11:29Speaker 7: understand the nuances of being won a rookie and the
- 11:32Speaker 7: expectation of a number one overall pick. And the second part,
- 11:35Speaker 7: cam Ward has an infectious mentality in the sense in
- 11:38Speaker 7: Hester and I talked to him before the draft, and
- 11:41Speaker 7: I think Hester as me dead as he is. You know,
- 11:43Speaker 7: he was like, well, damn, I'll run through brick waff
- 11:45Speaker 7: of this kind of guy. Because he even mentioned like
- 11:46Speaker 7: a find pressure of defenses. That's just how he is.
- 11:49Speaker 7: That's in his DNA. And if people look at the
- 11:52Speaker 7: track of cam Ward, zero star coming out of high school,
- 11:55Speaker 7: didn't recruited by anybody, wing t offense in high school,
- 11:58Speaker 7: so didn't really get the opportunities. But incarnate word Washington State, Miami,
- 12:03Speaker 7: truly a guy who got it out the mud, you
- 12:05Speaker 7: like to say. And I think the fact that he's
- 12:07Speaker 7: kind of been zero and now he's the number one guy,
- 12:10Speaker 7: he's not going to be you know, in a situation
- 12:12Speaker 7: where he's like, ah, yeah, I've arrived and this is
- 12:14Speaker 7: done and I don't have to do any more work
- 12:15Speaker 7: and all this kind of stuff. He's going to bust
- 12:16Speaker 7: his tail to be successful. So I don't know if
- 12:18Speaker 7: they won a super Bowl in the next four years
- 12:20Speaker 7: in this Rockey contract, but I do know he's going
- 12:22Speaker 7: to have a successful start to his career and it's
- 12:24Speaker 7: going to be.
- 12:25Speaker 2: A long yeah.
- 12:25Speaker 5: Ag.
- 12:25Speaker 8: I'm looking at their quarterback room right now, cam Ward
- 12:28Speaker 8: will leve Us, Brandon Allen, Tim Boyle. So you kind
- 12:31Speaker 8: of brought it up earlier with your past experience about
- 12:34Speaker 8: you wanted and throughout like you wished for that veteran presence.
- 12:38Speaker 2: Now you have.
- 12:38Speaker 8: They have it a little bit more in their coach
- 12:40Speaker 8: than you did in your situation. But you know, all things.
- 12:44Speaker 8: Things happen in training camps. Maybe something happens in the
- 12:48Speaker 8: Browns organization and Flacco becomes available. Would you be a
- 12:51Speaker 8: proponent for for cam Warden, maybe even will Levis too,
- 12:54Speaker 8: for the for the that same breath to bring in.
- 12:57Speaker 5: I do want to mention. I do want to mention.
- 12:59Speaker 7: So I played golf Brandon Island their quarterback, because you
- 13:01Speaker 7: can crush a golf ball here, my god, bro, dude,
- 13:05Speaker 7: crush golf ball. But you know what if Joe Flacco
- 13:08Speaker 7: became available, I think, Flinn, you know this, man, like
- 13:11Speaker 7: you got to have the conversation with the veteran right,
- 13:13Speaker 7: Like you got to know, hey, look your role is
- 13:15Speaker 7: to come in here and teach these young guys to
- 13:18Speaker 7: be a professional. And I believe I saw a clip
- 13:20Speaker 7: of Joe Flacco basically saying, look, because I know they
- 13:23Speaker 7: brought into der Sanders and can you pick it? And
- 13:25Speaker 7: DLN Gabriel, Look, I'm coming here to compete. I want
- 13:28Speaker 7: to play, And so I think that would be the
- 13:30Speaker 7: main conversation.
- 13:31Speaker 5: And I told Cam this this too.
- 13:32Speaker 7: I said, look, man, when you get there, you're never
- 13:34Speaker 7: want overall pick, don't go in there shot like you
- 13:36Speaker 7: got to speak up and you ask and tell them
- 13:38Speaker 7: what you want. And you know, as a quarterback in
- 13:41Speaker 7: the league, I didn't even realize I had that kind
- 13:43Speaker 7: of power. Like again, I wish I could have went
- 13:45Speaker 7: to the GMUG WLL and said, now I keep Matt
- 13:47Speaker 7: Flinn here.
- 13:47Speaker 5: With us, you know, And I'm sure Flinn you probably wanted
- 13:48Speaker 5: to go and play somewhere else.
- 13:49Speaker 7: I think he went back to Seattle or Green Bay actually,
- 13:52Speaker 7: But you know, I wish I had took the range
- 13:56Speaker 7: from my career and said, look, I need some type
- 13:58Speaker 7: of veteran leadership, even if he's not playing. I need
- 14:01Speaker 7: to be able to see and be critiqued by somebody
- 14:03Speaker 7: who's done it, not just the coach, but somebody's actually.
- 14:06Speaker 5: Been in that pocket and been in that fire man.
- 14:08Speaker 7: So yeah, I mean Joe Flapper would be good, but
- 14:10Speaker 7: I think the conversation before he joined that team needs
- 14:13Speaker 7: to be Hey, you're coming in to teach and be
- 14:16Speaker 7: almost like a player's coach, not just somebody that's gonna
- 14:18Speaker 7: take this guy's job, because he's our guy.
- 14:20Speaker 5: He's the number one pick.
- 14:21Speaker 2: Ej.
- 14:21Speaker 3: Another quarterback that I wanted to ask you about because
- 14:24Speaker 3: obviously we're on here in Louisiana, so we talk a
- 14:27Speaker 3: lot of New Orleans Saints. Tyler Shuck somebody that you
- 14:29Speaker 3: watched a lot in the acc there at Louisville. He
- 14:32Speaker 3: is somebody the Saints selected at forty. Now he's going
- 14:35Speaker 3: to be in a battle with Spencer Rattler, but he
- 14:37Speaker 3: like in the off season, he has won the fans over,
- 14:40Speaker 3: like he's saying all the right things on all the podcasts,
- 14:42Speaker 3: talking about the city of New Orleans and the food
- 14:44Speaker 3: and everything. But what about once he gets between the lines.
- 14:48Speaker 3: How do you feel about Tyler Shuck trying to go
- 14:51Speaker 3: win the Saints starting quarterback job.
- 14:53Speaker 7: Yes, well, I look, I want to give Spencer ratlersh
- 14:55Speaker 7: some love too, because we got a chance to talk
- 14:56Speaker 7: to him at the Super Bowl and I was a fan,
- 14:58Speaker 7: Like I kind of seen him from the youth, I
- 15:01Speaker 7: think the Netflix show and obviously his tenure in college,
- 15:04Speaker 7: and I got a lot of respect for him, and
- 15:05Speaker 7: I think he's gonna do a good job. But Tyler
- 15:07Speaker 7: Shuck strong arm, older, so obviously more matured, but obviously
- 15:11Speaker 7: not matured in the sense of playing on the field
- 15:13Speaker 7: in the NFL level. Look, I expect if he does
- 15:17Speaker 7: get a chance to play Brandon, it's going to be
- 15:20Speaker 7: a learning curve like it is for all of us
- 15:21Speaker 7: young qbs. But I think again, he's a big guy.
- 15:24Speaker 7: He's more athletic and agile than I think he gets
- 15:27Speaker 7: credit for. And that's kind of what you have to
- 15:30Speaker 7: have as a young quarterback in the league because you're
- 15:32Speaker 7: going to get, you know, caught with your pants down
- 15:34Speaker 7: at times. They're going to bring a blitz that you
- 15:35Speaker 7: have not seen before, or your right tackle was going
- 15:38Speaker 7: to get whooped by one of these all star defensive ends.
- 15:40Speaker 7: You're gonna have to make a play athletically to get
- 15:42Speaker 7: yourself in a position to make a throw, and he
- 15:44Speaker 7: can do all those things. And so, uh, you know,
- 15:46Speaker 7: I told you my neighbor is Devon Godchild and actually
- 15:48Speaker 7: Jarvis Landry they both literally live next door.
- 15:50Speaker 5: But I talked to him.
- 15:51Speaker 3: I mean, if you would have made the right choice,
- 15:53Speaker 3: you would have been the trio that all the time.
- 15:56Speaker 5: I know, man, I know, I know.
- 15:58Speaker 7: I still got love for my Florida State people treating
- 16:00Speaker 7: me great like family. But I always ask DG how
- 16:02Speaker 7: he's doing, and uh, you know, devonn was like, look,
- 16:05Speaker 7: the young boy could play, and so you got to
- 16:07Speaker 7: de tackle talking like that, and a guy who's been
- 16:09Speaker 7: in the league nine ten years then obviously he's earning
- 16:12Speaker 7: the respect of his team. So I don't know if
- 16:13Speaker 7: he'll start. And I'm pretty sure Keller Moore, who I
- 16:16Speaker 7: know very well, is probably not gonna rush, you know,
- 16:18Speaker 7: Tyler shuck situation. But if he's the best quarterback coming
- 16:21Speaker 7: out of camp, you gotta roll with him.
- 16:23Speaker 2: All right, quick question, we'll put you on the spot
- 16:25Speaker 2: here a little bit.
- 16:25Speaker 8: Come on, give me your opinion on the touch push.
- 16:29Speaker 5: I love it, man.
- 16:31Speaker 2: It now.
- 16:33Speaker 7: Yeah, look like for for the league to try to
- 16:36Speaker 7: outlaw a damn play, Like are we getting that petty
- 16:39Speaker 7: to the point where like God just line up and
- 16:41Speaker 7: stop it with who's to say, like what kind of
- 16:44Speaker 7: rule change potentially?
- 16:45Speaker 5: I know they even change the rule. But yeah, I
- 16:48Speaker 5: love the touch push.
- 16:49Speaker 7: And I was a guy who was you know, two
- 16:51Speaker 7: forty two thirty five playing, and so I was a
- 16:53Speaker 7: quarterback sneak guru.
- 16:55Speaker 5: So anytime Hester and one of them.
- 16:56Speaker 7: Guys fell on like the two of your one yard line,
- 16:58Speaker 7: we already knew what time it was that. I'm not
- 17:00Speaker 7: even looking at Jimbo. I'm calling the players quarterback sneak.
- 17:02Speaker 4: I'm getting a touchdown, touchdown vulture.
- 17:05Speaker 3: EJ Man right there, just taking the fullback dive away
- 17:11Speaker 3: from you there, EJ.
- 17:12Speaker 4: You're the man.
- 17:12Speaker 3: I appreciate you hopping on with us this morning. I'll
- 17:15Speaker 3: talk to you in like five six.
- 17:17Speaker 5: Hours, about six hours, yep.
- 17:19Speaker 4: Appreciate you as well, all right.
- 17:22Speaker 3: As my co host in the afternoons over on off
- 17:25Speaker 3: campus college sports radio series XM Channel eighty four checks
- 17:28Speaker 3: out there from two to five Central time. A lot
- 17:34Speaker 3: of fun there with us, so good with EJ. Man,
- 17:36Speaker 3: he he really loved LSU, really loved it when he
- 17:41Speaker 3: was getting recruited and he look, he's got love for
- 17:43Speaker 3: his school of Florida State.
- 17:44Speaker 4: He said it there.
- 17:45Speaker 3: But all the time, whenever we're talking we bring up LSU,
- 17:49Speaker 3: my guy lights up a little bit. Can you imagine
- 17:51Speaker 3: if EJ would have been the quarterback on twenty eleven LSU.
- 17:57Speaker 8: So, let's see his freshman year at four, the state
- 18:00Speaker 8: was nine eight. I think it was because he said
- 18:04Speaker 8: he was getting recruited by Jim Bo at LSU.
- 18:06Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 18:07Speaker 3: So senior year, yeah, that team would have been having
- 18:13Speaker 3: a first might have crossed the fifty.
- 18:17Speaker 2: Maybe we're still getting stopped. Oh man. Yeah.
- 18:21Speaker 8: So I was signed in Buffalo after thankfully, thankfully getting
- 18:26Speaker 8: released by the Raiders.
- 18:28Speaker 2: So I'm a Buffalo.
- 18:30Speaker 4: You get released by Oakland, You're.
- 18:31Speaker 3: Like, yeah, fi GM.
- 18:36Speaker 2: Picking up my wife, spinning around in the circle. Let's go.
- 18:39Speaker 8: I was there for three weeks, buddy, because EJ was
- 18:41Speaker 8: hurt at the time those meeting.
- 18:43Speaker 3: That's why, like I said, like QB one on the
- 18:45Speaker 3: meatthead team, because e J he was one of those
- 18:47Speaker 3: guys that didn't really have respect for his body, like
- 18:51Speaker 3: in a good way like and that's why he was
- 18:53Speaker 3: joking about.
- 18:53Speaker 4: I forgot what quarterback he was talking about. Kate Club.
- 18:55Speaker 4: He's like, yeah, just slide, buddy, or get out of
- 18:57Speaker 4: the way. It's like I did.
- 19:00Speaker 3: He had like six knee surgeries, like two shoulder surgeries.
- 19:03Speaker 8: He laughed too, and I said, yeah, we both got
- 19:05Speaker 8: the same scar tissue from old coaches. Yeah, he knew
- 19:08Speaker 8: what was talking about.
- 19:09Speaker 4: Yeah, it is.
- 19:10Speaker 3: It is funny to hear him kind of talk about
- 19:12Speaker 3: not having a vet too. And so as soon as
- 19:15Speaker 3: he said that, I started thinking about the Saints, because
- 19:19Speaker 3: you've got a new head coach, You've got an incredibly
- 19:22Speaker 3: young quarterback room.
- 19:23Speaker 2: Now.
- 19:24Speaker 3: Neus Meyer has has certainly been through the fire as
- 19:26Speaker 3: far as a coach, and so at least you have
- 19:28Speaker 3: a coordinator quarterback coach that has been in the league
- 19:31Speaker 3: for you know, around college football NFL for a long time.
- 19:34Speaker 8: Well, they're better set up at the Saints right now
- 19:36Speaker 8: because of you know, the at least their head coach,
- 19:38Speaker 8: their quarterback coach played.
- 19:39Speaker 2: Now.
- 19:39Speaker 8: They weren't like long term starters or anything, but they
- 19:42Speaker 8: played in the league and has been in the league
- 19:45Speaker 8: when he went the Hackett wasn't a player, right, the
- 19:48Speaker 8: head coach was a you know, it's kind of it
- 19:51Speaker 8: was kind of like or less like he was more focused.
- 19:53Speaker 2: On the offensive line. Yeah, so like he was all alone.
- 19:57Speaker 3: Like from the experience standpoint, I think I think you
- 19:59Speaker 3: said the other two quarterbacks for like young quarterbacks that were.
- 20:02Speaker 2: In Jeff Tool and Thad Lewis.
- 20:04Speaker 4: I believe Jeff Tool and Thad Lewis.
- 20:07Speaker 2: Yep, I'll put on a Bill's uniform one time.
- 20:09Speaker 3: I was actually I got a big head and a
- 20:11Speaker 3: big brain. Sometimes I have no idea who those two
- 20:14Speaker 3: human beings are.
- 20:15Speaker 2: That's shocking because you know literally everybody that's up.
- 20:18Speaker 3: I think I think Thad Lewis is on the Browns Jersey,
- 20:22Speaker 3: the famous Browns Jersey.
- 20:23Speaker 4: I'm pretty sure he is.
- 20:26Speaker 2: Jeff Tool.
- 20:28Speaker 4: Where the hell is Jeff Tool from?
- 20:31Speaker 8: I don't know, but my I always get emails saying like,
- 20:34Speaker 8: Jeff Tool wants to connect on LinkedIn.
- 20:39Speaker 2: I got it the other day.
- 20:39Speaker 3: I was like, Oh, if that tells you about Jeff
- 20:43Speaker 3: Toole shout out. Sorry dragging the money here. Probably was,
- 20:48Speaker 3: But if he's sitting up on LinkedIn, that tells you what.
- 20:50Speaker 8: His pro career. So I got there and Thad Lewis
- 20:53Speaker 8: was started. The first game I was there, I wasn't
- 20:55Speaker 8: dressed out. I had just got there like the day before.
- 20:57Speaker 8: And the next week I'm dressed out because that Lewis
- 20:59Speaker 8: got hurt and Jeff Toole started and we're playing the
- 21:02Speaker 8: Bengals like Zimmer double.
- 21:05Speaker 2: A goat much fun. Yeah, I think we we either.
- 21:09Speaker 8: Beat them or got damn close to it because like
- 21:14Speaker 8: a Hackett had like nine plays going into the game.
- 21:16Speaker 8: It was one through nine and we and it was
- 21:20Speaker 8: just fast and they couldn't get in their double A
- 21:22Speaker 8: gaps because we were going so fast.
- 21:24Speaker 3: Because he's like, I mean, if he wasn't the inventor
- 21:27Speaker 3: of it, which I think he was, he was, he mastered.
- 21:29Speaker 2: Yeah he might not have invented it, but he perfected it.
- 21:33Speaker 3: They had a couple of jerk They had a couple
- 21:35Speaker 3: of linebackers there, Ma Luga from USC.
- 21:40Speaker 4: I remember that name, Yeah, ray Malinlug.
- 21:43Speaker 3: I got another guy that had no, no respect for
- 21:45Speaker 3: his body, and again in a good way.
- 21:47Speaker 4: He was just like I'm gonna do whatever.
- 21:50Speaker 2: Cincinnati, yep.
- 21:51Speaker 4: And that's what I'm saying he was in Cincinnati.
- 21:53Speaker 3: If you play against them, Yeah, it's just like they
- 21:56Speaker 3: got some psycho guys up here.
- 21:57Speaker 4: They're gonna run these double A mugs.
- 21:58Speaker 2: They don't have to respect for their body.
- 22:01Speaker 4: Yeah, exactly.
- 22:02Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 22:03Speaker 3: And he had one guy, Keith Rivers from usc that
- 22:07Speaker 3: couldn't buy in to what he needed mentality wise.
- 22:12Speaker 4: Like the guy looked like Tarzan.
- 22:14Speaker 3: I mean, he was put together, but like he didn't
- 22:16Speaker 3: last as long in the defense because he wanted him
- 22:18Speaker 3: to be reckless and he wasn't that style of player.
- 22:22Speaker 4: So, yeah, they want you to, like.
- 22:24Speaker 8: A hawk, finish their I don't know if he fished
- 22:26Speaker 8: with the Falcons, but he was with the Bengals.
- 22:28Speaker 4: For Falcons.
- 22:29Speaker 3: They wanted you to like last three years and they
- 22:32Speaker 3: get a new U in three more years. Basically, coach
- 22:37Speaker 3: what wants what he wants. All right, we are going
- 22:40Speaker 3: to step away. Enjoyed that conversation. Appreciate my guy hopping
- 22:43Speaker 3: on with us. We'll be back more OTB yetes Thursday.
- 22:47Speaker 3: We still got munchies coming up later on in the show.

- 25:16Speaker 4: the world. We're welcome.
- 25:19Speaker 3: You heard this on saxophone. Yeah, there was somebody that
- 25:21Speaker 3: this specific song. He takes R and B songs Just Henny, Jesus.
- 25:27Speaker 2: I'll get to see your timeline.
- 25:30Speaker 3: It is R and B music, it's dance videos. It's
- 25:34Speaker 3: now card breaks, obscure sports back not really. My feet
- 25:43Speaker 3: is full of card breaks right now.
- 25:45Speaker 2: We did.
- 25:46Speaker 6: Sorry, I was gonna say, we've did. We've done this before,
- 25:49Speaker 6: but it wasn't when you were here. Pull up your
- 25:51Speaker 6: phone and what's the first reel that comes up on
- 25:53Speaker 6: your phone?
- 25:54Speaker 3: Somebody like you get a popular page or whatever they
- 25:55Speaker 3: can like because you can do your reels.
- 25:59Speaker 6: So like the little button, I guess what you say,
- 26:04Speaker 6: it's the first reel that pops up for you. Mine's
- 26:06Speaker 6: a l s U in Omaha reel.
- 26:10Speaker 10: Mine is a Washington Nationals reel, which is odd months.
- 26:15Speaker 3: All right, mine's Mine's a NBA mock draft. It must
- 26:19Speaker 3: have been. It had to hear us talking, because when
- 26:21Speaker 3: I talked about it earlier in the show, that's the
- 26:23Speaker 3: first time I've said NBA mock draft in a year.
- 26:29Speaker 2: I popped up and said, our sports cards a Ponzi scheme.
- 26:34Speaker 6: These feel very on brand.
- 26:36Speaker 5: Uh.
- 26:37Speaker 4: I think Lacy put that in there.
- 26:39Speaker 2: She might have put that in there. We can dive
- 26:41Speaker 2: into that later.
- 26:43Speaker 4: About you.
- 26:44Speaker 2: You had a big hit.
- 26:46Speaker 4: You had a big hit last night, y'all ever.
- 26:49Speaker 8: Heard there's this quarterback that plays in the National Football
- 26:52Speaker 8: League some people call it the NFL.
- 26:54Speaker 2: His name is Jayden Daniels. Anybody ever heard of him?
- 26:58Speaker 2: A few times?
- 26:59Speaker 8: A few times? Yeah, yeah, I had a big one. Uh,
- 27:02Speaker 8: little Jayden Daniels Downtown. For those sports nerds out there
- 27:08Speaker 8: like myself, you know what that means.
- 27:10Speaker 6: Yeh.
- 27:10Speaker 4: Yep.
- 27:10Speaker 3: If you're you're part of the Optic and you're trying
- 27:15Speaker 3: to hit a big card, downtown in and uptown is
- 27:19Speaker 3: the biggest that you're going to find in those boxes.
- 27:21Speaker 3: And the biggest of all the downtown's and uptowns is
- 27:24Speaker 3: a Jaden Daniels downtown.
- 27:27Speaker 4: Oh when accidentally did it?
- 27:29Speaker 2: Accidentally checked this out? Got that I brought this one
- 27:32Speaker 2: in today? Check this out?
- 27:33Speaker 8: This is a uh this was called an uptown here
- 27:38Speaker 8: little guy by the name of Roger stallback Taylor's guy.
- 27:42Speaker 4: It's the only Cowboys quarterback that Taylor likes.
- 27:45Speaker 2: Is So there's two.
- 27:48Speaker 4: There's two. We got to he hates Dack and he
- 27:50Speaker 4: hates Tony.
- 27:52Speaker 2: If I pull a Quincy Carter, I'm gonna let you know.
- 27:54Speaker 3: Quincy Carter, the legend Shreveport Bosier City battle Wings.
- 28:00Speaker 2: What's doing now? Let's get him on.
- 28:02Speaker 4: But he played for the battle Wings.
- 28:03Speaker 2: Let's get them on the show. We'll catch up.
- 28:06Speaker 4: Might not be hard. William says Flynn. I hate you.
- 28:11Speaker 4: How many did you rip before pulling that Jaden couple?
- 28:14Speaker 8: First card ever couple We've we've ripped a couple You've
- 28:19Speaker 8: had some good.
- 28:19Speaker 3: Luck with with Jayden with Caleb Williams, like you got
- 28:23Speaker 3: you have some quarterback luck?
- 28:25Speaker 8: Yep, yeah, I've had some quarterback luck. I'm sitting here,
- 28:28Speaker 8: I gotta just pulled this one.
- 28:30Speaker 3: Uh.
- 28:30Speaker 8: This is a Caleb Williams out of one, twenty five
- 28:34Speaker 8: rated rookie right here, Kolliams.
- 28:37Speaker 3: I know like I am, so I'm loyal to a fault,
- 28:40Speaker 3: like Caleb Williams didn't do anything to me, didn't do
- 28:42Speaker 3: anything to l the shoe, right, but because he went
- 28:46Speaker 3: before Jayden, And I'm always gonna be on team Jayden.
- 28:48Speaker 3: Like I'll get a Caleb card and like immediately like
- 28:50Speaker 3: we're selling this puppy, get it out of here, don't
- 28:53Speaker 3: want it?
- 28:54Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 28:54Speaker 8: Now, but how long do you hold onto that? Because
- 28:57Speaker 8: and I think I think Jayden has righted.
- 28:59Speaker 2: That wrong already.
- 29:01Speaker 4: He has. I didn't say we'll.
- 29:02Speaker 2: Continue to right that wrong. You're right, but I will

- 32:27Speaker 4: Yeah, we don't talk about it.
- 32:29Speaker 2: Well, I said that.
- 32:31Speaker 8: I was just setting up the fact that I'm energizing.
- 32:34Speaker 6: Okay, what about was the one that really started the
- 32:39Speaker 6: I need energy?
- 32:39Speaker 4: Yes, he got his hand speaking of his chin.
- 32:43Speaker 2: Speaking of.
- 32:45Speaker 10: How about me taking crap from every one of you
- 32:48Speaker 10: for being the only one not going to the celebration.
- 32:51Speaker 10: I just found out that's the only one in the
- 32:53Speaker 10: room that went, Yeah, I didn't you didn't go.
- 32:55Speaker 4: I said it at the beginning of the show.
- 32:56Speaker 10: I watched, Uh, I thought like I thought of two
- 33:00Speaker 10: and two the no I ended I'm.
- 33:01Speaker 6: Not going because it was five thirty and I was like.
- 33:05Speaker 4: Eight o'clock feels I'll apologize.
- 33:08Speaker 3: But when they said eight o'clock, yeah exactly, I ain't
- 33:12Speaker 3: doing that.
- 33:13Speaker 6: I like left my house at five thirty and my
- 33:17Speaker 6: thighs were like sticking to the car seat because I
- 33:20Speaker 6: was so damn sweaty that I was like, I am
- 33:22Speaker 6: not going to go sit out there.
- 33:24Speaker 2: Madra even got a credential, didn't you.
- 33:26Speaker 5: I did?
- 33:26Speaker 2: Yeah, nicey, I'll tell you what.
- 33:28Speaker 4: There's enough people supporting lsuit.
- 33:30Speaker 8: Yeah, we were waffling a little bit.
- 33:32Speaker 4: I went all the way to Omaha.
- 33:33Speaker 2: I think it's I don't.
- 33:35Speaker 10: Think the crowd was sparse because of this room didn't
- 33:37Speaker 10: show up.
- 33:38Speaker 8: Yeah, well, we were waffling a little bit. We were at
- 33:40Speaker 8: the house. Man, it was pretty comfortable here. It's pretty
- 33:41Speaker 8: hot out there. We didn't really know what to expect
- 33:44Speaker 8: it to be, like people be packed in the outfield
- 33:47Speaker 8: bleachers what it was. But then you know, lucky, luckily enough,
- 33:51Speaker 8: we had some seats in the L club sections. So
- 33:54Speaker 8: we were like, all right, let's just do this, and
- 33:56Speaker 8: we're glad we did. Our kids had a fantastic time.
- 34:00Speaker 8: Like my son in the car on the way home,
- 34:02Speaker 8: he's like, that was one of the top days of
- 34:03Speaker 8: my life.
- 34:06Speaker 6: That's what I was gonna say earlier, is that when
- 34:10Speaker 6: you were talking about your kids being super excited about
- 34:12Speaker 6: getting the autographs and stuff like that. I was like,
- 34:15Speaker 6: they're going to be talking about that the way that
- 34:17Speaker 6: we talk about memories as kids, and.
- 34:19Speaker 4: I love that.
- 34:20Speaker 2: Yeah, let me tell you.
- 34:21Speaker 8: Like, so they huckering around, and then my little girls
- 34:24Speaker 8: kind of like ran on the field. They ran from
- 34:25Speaker 8: like first base to second base. We're loving it, like
- 34:27Speaker 8: playing in the dirt and stuff. And then my son
- 34:29Speaker 8: was running around with a buddy of his and you
- 34:32Speaker 8: know kind of he had those cars. I told you
- 34:34Speaker 8: I had a ball. I get getting a couple of
- 34:35Speaker 8: autographs here and there.
- 34:37Speaker 2: And man, the boys on the l s U team,
- 34:41Speaker 2: they weren't the sweetest days. Man, they were awesome. They
- 34:44Speaker 2: were great.
- 34:44Speaker 8: I mean they're sitting there and enjoying their celebration and
- 34:47Speaker 8: they I'll be I'll be darned if they didn't sit
- 34:49Speaker 8: there and talk to him and say, how you doing, buddy,
- 34:51Speaker 8: And it was great.
- 34:52Speaker 2: Great.
- 34:52Speaker 3: I'm glad y'all had that. Man, that's fun. It's a
- 34:55Speaker 3: lot of fun. We yeah, we talked about going, but
- 34:57Speaker 3: the eight PM with the kiddos.
- 34:59Speaker 2: Yeah, stuff, it's tough. It was tough. It was hot
- 35:01Speaker 2: to like I said, not a breath of air out.
- 35:04Speaker 4: There heading to O and all right, let's get to
- 35:07Speaker 4: a little big deal, no big deal, big deal. Every
- 35:13Speaker 4: we did this when you were here.
- 35:15Speaker 2: Before, I forgot big deal.
- 35:18Speaker 4: You changed the name of this segment.
- 35:21Speaker 5: A big deal.
- 35:24Speaker 6: What did you change the name to?
- 35:25Speaker 2: It was a big deal or no deal?
- 35:28Speaker 4: Yeah, And he's like, well, it's got to be no
- 35:30Speaker 4: big deal.
- 35:31Speaker 3: Yeah, big deal or no big deal.
- 35:36Speaker 4: The NBA Draft happened last night, MBD.
- 35:41Speaker 3: For this crew, I mean, they try to make it
- 35:46Speaker 3: so big, and I'm not hating on him for that,
- 35:49Speaker 3: but like the NFL Draft, it's just it's its own
- 35:52Speaker 3: theme and there's hundreds of thousands of people over the
- 35:56Speaker 3: you know, the course of three days that go to
- 35:58Speaker 3: whatever site that it's at at, and it's this big
- 36:01Speaker 3: stage and it's this big production, and like you just
- 36:05Speaker 3: you know, so many of the names, even in the fifth,
- 36:07Speaker 3: sixth round.
- 36:08Speaker 4: Queen Yours was a seventh round pick.
- 36:10Speaker 3: He was in back to back college football playoffs as
- 36:12Speaker 3: a quarterback at Texas. In the NBA draft, it's like,
- 36:15Speaker 3: after the first like seven picks, if you don't do
- 36:18Speaker 3: a deep dive into college basketball, it's like, I don't
- 36:21Speaker 3: know who that human is, right, And the only reason
- 36:24Speaker 3: I knew most of them is because I have.
- 36:25Speaker 4: To talk about them all there.
- 36:29Speaker 3: It's just it doesn't have the punch that the NFL
- 36:32Speaker 3: draft has.
- 36:36Speaker 2: It does. If you love love.
- 36:38Speaker 3: NBA, I mean you got to like, look, it has
- 36:39Speaker 3: to be like the show that's on.
- 36:44Speaker 8: Before our show from six to seven, Like they talk
- 36:46Speaker 8: every time it turned out their NBA and be like
- 36:48Speaker 8: heavy they love it. So that's a big deal, man.
- 36:51Speaker 8: But like for this room and me specifically, it is
- 36:54Speaker 8: not at all a big deal. Sorry, I it's just me.
- 36:58Speaker 10: Yeah, Like I've I've found NBA more than a lot
- 37:02Speaker 10: of people, and like I'm sitting down watching it last night,
- 37:04Speaker 10: I had forgotten that the second round was actually tonight.
- 37:07Speaker 10: I thought it was just all in one night. I'm like, oh,
- 37:09Speaker 10: when the hell did they change that?
- 37:10Speaker 5: Right?
- 37:10Speaker 3: And well and then a lot of times today's I
- 37:12Speaker 3: still didn't know. I just found that out was breaking
- 37:15Speaker 3: news to me.
- 37:15Speaker 10: Yeah, the second round is actually tonight.
- 37:17Speaker 4: I thought that they did all these hean.
- 37:19Speaker 10: Players that are drafted now, like you can see the
- 37:22Speaker 10: guys on the desk or whatever, like they're trying to
- 37:24Speaker 10: give you like, oh, this guy played in Turkey whatever.
- 37:26Speaker 10: They don't know half the guys like like, I'm looking
- 37:29Speaker 10: right now. Somebody put out a list that they did,
- 37:31Speaker 10: like a big board of like the top fifteen available players.
- 37:34Speaker 10: I know three of them, four out of the top ten,
- 37:39Speaker 10: well one once Jenni Broom from Alburn and.
- 37:42Speaker 4: Tyree Sproctor from Duke.
- 37:43Speaker 10: Like, yeah, there's a big time programs outside of those
- 37:46Speaker 10: two guys. That's pretty much like them.
- 37:50Speaker 8: Someone of the chat earlier said, you need to you
- 37:54Speaker 8: really need to pick up your game on the on
- 37:57Speaker 8: your basketball and NBA knowledge.
- 37:59Speaker 2: I might bud, I just learn baseball.
- 38:00Speaker 4: Let's baby baby steps, all.
- 38:03Speaker 3: Right, baby baby at a time, we'll get there, all right, Flann,
- 38:07Speaker 3: what you got?
- 38:09Speaker 4: Oh?
- 38:09Speaker 2: All right? Got one? I did keep forget about the segment?
- 38:13Speaker 2: Shoot all right? Big deal, no big deal. After l
- 38:18Speaker 2: s U was chasing O Bentley and he committed Oklahoma.
- 38:24Speaker 8: Comes out on Monday that L s U offered four
- 38:27Speaker 8: star Bryson Beaver from California and then on Tuesday he
- 38:32Speaker 8: commits to Oregon.
- 38:34Speaker 3: Big deal, it's a huge deal. His last name is
- 38:37Speaker 3: Beaver and he goes to Oregon. Yes, their rival is
- 38:41Speaker 3: the Beavers.
- 38:42Speaker 2: That is so fair, Like if he played.
- 38:45Speaker 3: His huge deal, everyone could have gone to Oregon State
- 38:48Speaker 3: played his inn il cards all of it and it
- 38:50Speaker 3: said beaver on front and beaver on back double actually
- 38:54Speaker 3: beams and.
- 38:56Speaker 10: Yeah you could have beaves on the back too if
- 38:57Speaker 10: you want to play it up.
- 39:00Speaker 4: Yeah, maybe a big deal.
- 39:02Speaker 10: Not a big deal for LSU though, Like you and
- 39:05Speaker 10: I were talking about this a little bit before the show.
- 39:07Speaker 10: They wanted Bo Bentley bad. I wanted Bo Bentley to
- 39:09Speaker 10: come here. We had talked about him two months ago.
- 39:11Speaker 10: He's a guy that i've I've followed for a while.
- 39:13Speaker 10: Now you lose him to Oklahoma on Friday. You don't
- 39:16Speaker 10: even offer this kid till Monday. He's taking his visit
- 39:19Speaker 10: to Oregon Tuesday. Like it was pretty much already a
- 39:21Speaker 10: lost calls like they were kind of swinging for the
- 39:23Speaker 10: fences on this one. You can only just get a
- 39:25Speaker 10: quarterback out of the portal nowadays too.
- 39:27Speaker 3: You'll you're heavy, heavy into the twenty seven class. Yes,
- 39:30Speaker 3: like you got like five top targets that your full
- 39:33Speaker 3: court press on in the twenty seven plans.
- 39:35Speaker 2: We have van Buren next year.
- 39:37Speaker 10: Even if you keep colin early, you can go get
- 39:38Speaker 10: get a backup out of the portal. Top kids in
- 39:41Speaker 10: twenty seven like, you're fine.
- 39:43Speaker 8: I know we kind of hammered the like the recruiting
- 39:45Speaker 8: visits and stuff. A couple of weeks ago, I was
- 39:48Speaker 8: looking at this price of Beaver. I was looking him
- 39:51Speaker 8: up after you had said it, and he tweeted out
- 39:54Speaker 8: on Monday, I got this offer and then capital letters
- 39:56Speaker 8: Gaux Tigers and.
- 39:58Speaker 2: Then they like I just.
- 40:00Speaker 8: The tweets and everything that they get it like thank
- 40:03Speaker 8: you for doing this, but he says, go Tigers, e
- 40:06Speaker 8: A u X all Caps, stolen valor Beaver and then
- 40:10Speaker 8: the next eight I know it's weird.
- 40:12Speaker 4: I know it's not weird. Blessed to receive an offer.
- 40:14Speaker 8: From high five am.
- 40:20Speaker 6: I don't know, because okay, so why do you think
- 40:22Speaker 6: that they're not coming to LSU because we already have
- 40:25Speaker 6: depth there or do you think they just like don't
- 40:27Speaker 6: want to come to LSU like bever ain't coming.
- 40:30Speaker 3: Well, I also think that you see, you know, LSU
- 40:33Speaker 3: has a young quarterback and Baber and that started almost
- 40:37Speaker 3: a full season in the SEC who's still very young.
- 40:40Speaker 3: And then I think you also see the twenty seven
- 40:42Speaker 3: class and that's an elite quarterback class, and you know
- 40:45Speaker 3: LSU is going to get one of the five that
- 40:47Speaker 3: they're after, and yeah, you run away from competition a
- 40:52Speaker 3: little bit, honestly, I think.
- 40:53Speaker 8: So at this day and age, I got I know,
- 40:54Speaker 8: everybody always wants to take a quarterback every class, every class,
- 40:57Speaker 8: stacking quarterbacks. But and I'm sure us you will do
- 41:00Speaker 8: that and still wants to do that. But you know,
- 41:03Speaker 8: maybe it's a lot of times, maybe it's if your
- 41:05Speaker 8: top guy falls out. Maybe at that point it's just
- 41:07Speaker 8: to get another arm in there. Maybe a guy pans out,
- 41:10Speaker 8: maybe he doesn't. But in this day and age in
- 41:12Speaker 8: college football, there's absolutely zero panic mode from these college
- 41:17Speaker 8: coaches because you're LSU.
- 41:20Speaker 2: You've had two heismans in the last six years. Like
- 41:22Speaker 2: you can get a guy, yeah you've had.
- 41:26Speaker 4: And this guy might be another one.
- 41:28Speaker 8: You could get a guy that's probably started two years
- 41:30Speaker 8: in college football already after that whenever you need it. So,
- 41:33Speaker 8: I mean, of course you want to stack it and
- 41:35Speaker 8: you want to have the numbers, and you would love
- 41:37Speaker 8: for a guy to go the route of Garrett neus
- 41:39Speaker 8: Meyer and graduate where he signed out of high school. Well,
- 41:44Speaker 8: I'm talking about Garrett netsmeyer'm.
- 41:45Speaker 4: Talking about you, and I'm talking about this break.
- 41:48Speaker 3: We'll continue big zough, no big deal to end hour

- 43:00Speaker 1: with Jacob Hester and Matt Flynn.
- 43:13Speaker 3: Are you going to continue a little big deal of
- 43:15Speaker 3: no big deal to wrap up our number two?
- 43:18Speaker 4: A Landra Taite all ready to go?
- 43:21Speaker 6: Yeah, I'm ready. So are we all familiar with Liver King?
- 43:25Speaker 4: Yes?
- 43:25Speaker 2: Very familiar.
- 43:26Speaker 6: So Liver King? What you're not familiar?
- 43:29Speaker 11: Na?
- 43:30Speaker 4: You know who liver is?
- 43:33Speaker 5: That?
- 43:33Speaker 2: So he was.
- 43:35Speaker 6: Arrested in Austin, Texas yesterday because he shut out. He
- 43:41Speaker 6: put out some Instagram videos that he was on his
- 43:44Speaker 6: way to Austin, Texas, and he was threatening Joe Rogan
- 43:48Speaker 6: in these videos and he was like, hey, you're a
- 43:51Speaker 6: black belt in jiu jitsu, Like I don't care, I
- 43:53Speaker 6: don't know any jiu jitsu, but like I'll whoop you
- 43:56Speaker 6: kind of. They like, that's not verbatim what he said,
- 43:58Speaker 6: right words in there, right big deal are no big deal?
- 44:02Speaker 6: The Liver King getting arrested in Texas.
- 44:05Speaker 4: Uh, we're trying to kill Joe Rogan the big.
- 44:08Speaker 3: Deal because Joe Rogan, I feel like we put him
- 44:11Speaker 3: away pretty quickly, probably just because you're livers and just
- 44:15Speaker 3: because you're on Royds, right, doesn't mean you can fight
- 44:20Speaker 3: just because you got those muscles like Joe Rogan can fight.
- 44:23Speaker 3: Joe Rogan goes an actual trained fighter. You're just on
- 44:28Speaker 3: the needle. So the big deal that the.
- 44:31Speaker 2: Hell is this just so raw meat slash. He was like.
- 44:41Speaker 8: He would eat all these weird all he was eating
- 44:44Speaker 8: liver king it was like meat and of course like
- 44:46Speaker 8: liver and stuff.
- 44:47Speaker 2: But then it came out he failed a drug, had
- 44:49Speaker 2: all these steroids.
- 44:50Speaker 5: In his body.
- 44:51Speaker 3: He was like, yeah, okay, I bet his punches are
