- 0:05Speaker 1: Below my gorgeous people.
- 0:07Speaker 2: It's Lala Kent welcome back to give them Lalla podcast.
- 0:10Speaker 2: We are back in La We are finished with the tour.
- 0:15Speaker 1: I kind of feel bummed about it.
- 0:17Speaker 3: I know it's really now that we're like, because I
- 0:21Speaker 3: feel like, towards the end of the tour, we're like, Okay,
- 0:23Speaker 3: this has been it was amazing, but we're like, I mean,
- 0:26Speaker 3: you were like, it's time to get back and see ocean.
- 0:28Speaker 3: But now, like the day after I woke up and
- 0:30Speaker 3: I was like, oh no, I know.
- 0:32Speaker 1: It was weird. It was like bittersweet.
- 0:34Speaker 2: I was excited to come home and be with my
- 0:36Speaker 2: baby because I hadn't seen her.
- 0:38Speaker 1: In almost two weeks.
- 0:40Speaker 2: Yeah, which you know, selfishly I wanted her with me
- 0:43Speaker 2: on tour, but it was way too many dates to
- 0:48Speaker 2: like in different places to bounce her around, and even
- 0:51Speaker 2: just that you know, to three hour time change was
- 0:55Speaker 2: like messing with me.
- 0:57Speaker 3: Well that would yeah, that would mess with her schedule
- 0:59Speaker 3: and all of that. So we did nine shows in
- 1:02Speaker 3: eleven days. Now that it's over, how do you feel
- 1:05Speaker 3: about it?
- 1:07Speaker 2: Now that I can look back on it. It was
- 1:09Speaker 2: one of the most unbelievable experiences that I'll probably ever have.
- 1:15Speaker 2: And it's because when you get to see people face
- 1:19Speaker 2: to face that have supported you, it gets emotional. Yeah,
- 1:23Speaker 2: Like there were people that would you know that we're
- 1:26Speaker 2: in VIP that would come around, you know, the little
- 1:30Speaker 2: what's that background, like the seven heat thing and sob
- 1:35Speaker 2: and like share their stories with me. One woman and
- 1:40Speaker 2: I will protect what she what she told me, but
- 1:45Speaker 2: it was along the lines of your daughter saved my life.
- 1:49Speaker 2: And then she told me the story and we both
- 1:52Speaker 2: were sobbing. Yeah, and I just was like, how incredible
- 1:56Speaker 2: that I get to do this and that these people
- 2:00Speaker 2: have allowed me to do it for a really long time.
- 2:04Speaker 1: And I always.
- 2:07Speaker 2: Think about, and I talked about this at the live show,
- 2:09Speaker 2: that I would think about, you know, when I was
- 2:12Speaker 2: in Utah on the couch with hopes and dreams those
- 2:16Speaker 2: intel like winning oscars, that God had a different plan
- 2:20Speaker 2: and that I was happy and I am happy that
- 2:23Speaker 2: God did have another plan for me because me sharing
- 2:27Speaker 2: my stories, whether they're amazing or deep. Like one woman
- 2:34Speaker 2: stood up and she was like, you got me out
- 2:36Speaker 2: of a narcissistic relationship and I need to know how.
- 2:39Speaker 1: To bounce back.
- 2:42Speaker 2: I signed people's AA books. What the fuck that's what
- 2:46Speaker 2: this life is about, you know who.
- 2:49Speaker 4: Was really beautiful to watch.
- 2:50Speaker 3: And you know, I remember before the tour when you know,
- 2:54Speaker 3: we're like talking about it and planning it, and I
- 2:56Speaker 3: kept saying like, well, what do you want out of this?
- 2:59Speaker 3: And you always went back to like, no matter what,
- 3:01Speaker 3: I want to connect with the people who've supported me.
- 3:04Speaker 4: Like that's number one. Always keep that at number one.
- 3:06Speaker 3: When we were talking about different segments, you always were like, okay,
- 3:10Speaker 3: but like, you know, interaction and all this with the
- 3:13Speaker 3: people who attend. And it was really cool to watch
- 3:18Speaker 3: you stick with that because I think a lot of
- 3:21Speaker 3: people I've gone to plenty of tours of people, I'm
- 3:25Speaker 3: a fan of many of many people, and it's I
- 3:27Speaker 3: think it was really special to watch you keep that
- 3:30Speaker 3: number one, that interaction with the people who have supported
- 3:33Speaker 3: you and like literally walk out and like talk to
- 3:36Speaker 3: them and share stories and spend time getting to know
- 3:41Speaker 3: those people.
- 3:42Speaker 2: And I thought it was really nice, really beautiful. Well
- 3:44Speaker 2: thank you, Yeah, was always the goal of the tour.
- 3:46Speaker 2: We accomplished it above and beyond. I mean people were saying,
- 3:51Speaker 2: I really can't believe you spent that much time with
- 3:55Speaker 2: us in like people that paid for VIP, which and
- 3:59Speaker 2: I told this, you know, you could have spent your
- 4:01Speaker 2: money anywhere. You guys work really hard and you could
- 4:04Speaker 2: have literally chosen to spend your money on anything. Yeah,
- 4:08Speaker 2: and you chose to spend it to come and like
- 4:10Speaker 2: hang out with me.
- 4:11Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 4:12Speaker 2: The least I can do is like sit here and
- 4:15Speaker 2: thank you for coming and ask you about your day
- 4:17Speaker 2: and you know, what are you about?
- 4:19Speaker 1: Like, that's what the tour was for.
- 4:21Speaker 2: Yeah, you know, I'm not having you come on back
- 4:24Speaker 2: to look at me, take a quick pick, sign my
- 4:27Speaker 2: name on your book, and call it a day.
- 4:29Speaker 1: This is the chance for us to like connect for real.
- 4:33Speaker 1: And you did and it was really did the damn
- 4:36Speaker 1: you did?
- 4:36Speaker 3: And you know what too, It's like I thought I
- 4:39Speaker 3: was prepared because I mean, there's always like a dud,
- 4:43Speaker 3: I feel like in every group. So I was prepared
- 4:45Speaker 3: to like, like, there's gonna be you know, maybe a
- 4:47Speaker 3: Heckler or two in every city, there's gonna be a
- 4:50Speaker 3: negative Nancy or some whatever, And there literally was not
- 4:54Speaker 3: one in one city.
- 4:56Speaker 2: No, even when we were in Austin, and the day
- 5:00Speaker 2: that I that we were in Austin, that was a
- 5:03Speaker 2: very that day, a lot of troubling shit was brought
- 5:07Speaker 2: to my attention. Yeah, it was dark and disgusting, and
- 5:11Speaker 2: I had to handle shit and still go and you know,
- 5:15Speaker 2: do the show and be lalla so at the end
- 5:20Speaker 2: because my mind was a little bit fogged towards the
- 5:23Speaker 2: end just with everything that I was thinking about. You know,
- 5:28Speaker 2: I was very in the moment during the show because
- 5:31Speaker 2: I know how to compartmentalize. But at the end when
- 5:34Speaker 2: I was like saying my goodbyes and thank you, I
- 5:38Speaker 2: accidentally thanked Houston, Texas and we were in Austin, and
- 5:44Speaker 2: I literally just like put the mic down.
- 5:46Speaker 1: I was like, what the fuck? And I was like,
- 5:50Speaker 1: you guys can boom me if you.
- 5:51Speaker 3: Feel Yeah, you said that, and I was backstage, so
- 5:54Speaker 3: I heard Lalla go. You guys can boom me if
- 5:57Speaker 3: you want. And I'm like, what is going on out there?
- 5:59Speaker 3: And I asked you after the show, I'm like, did.
- 6:00Speaker 1: They boo you?
- 6:01Speaker 4: And You're like no.
- 6:01Speaker 1: They all laughed. They laughed and clapped and they were
- 6:04Speaker 1: like we love you. And I was like, I'm so sorry.
- 6:06Speaker 2: I do know where I am and I had just
- 6:08Speaker 2: gotten done telling them I'm moving to Austin. Yeah, if
- 6:12Speaker 2: I get the opportunity and the stars are aligned. I'm
- 6:16Speaker 2: coming to Austin, Texas. Yeah, and they're all going crazy.
- 6:19Speaker 2: And I was like, anyway, I love you guys so much,
- 6:21Speaker 2: thank you for coming.
- 6:22Speaker 1: I love you Houston.
- 6:26Speaker 4: They were such they were so good about it though.
- 6:29Speaker 1: They were amazing about that.
- 6:30Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 6:30Speaker 4: I'm going to ask a.
- 6:33Speaker 3: What's the word A whatever question? I don't know what
- 6:37Speaker 3: the way I love whatever questions. Jes my brain is
- 6:41Speaker 3: off right now.
- 6:41Speaker 4: But do you have a favorite city on tour? What
- 6:48Speaker 4: is it you do?
- 6:49Speaker 5: Yeah?
- 6:49Speaker 2: Spell, I loved I loved all the cities, okay, but
- 6:56Speaker 2: my favorite. I loved the Texas to the Texas dates
- 7:01Speaker 2: were great.
- 7:02Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 7:02Speaker 2: I just love Texas because it reminds me. It gives
- 7:08Speaker 2: me the happy medium, because you know, I come from Utah, Yeah,
- 7:11Speaker 2: and then you moved to La way different and then
- 7:14Speaker 2: you go to a place like Austin, Texas and you're like,
- 7:17Speaker 2: oh my gosh, this is the happy medium.
- 7:18Speaker 1: Holy shit. I love it here.
- 7:20Speaker 4: It's great.
- 7:21Speaker 2: Every city was amazing though, and every city had the
- 7:25Speaker 2: best people.
- 7:26Speaker 1: I think, so nice.
- 7:28Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 7:28Speaker 4: I can say this because it's me, not you.
- 7:30Speaker 3: I think, in my opinion, I think Clearwater's audience was lit.
- 7:36Speaker 2: Clearwater's audience was lit, and that was one of the
- 7:39Speaker 2: funniest shows Clearwater.
- 7:41Speaker 3: And then Dallas was like to me, Dallas' audience was unbeatable.
- 7:46Speaker 4: Like, you guys came out.
- 7:47Speaker 3: I think you all knew it was the last show,
- 7:50Speaker 3: and you're like, we are going to give her or
- 7:52Speaker 3: we're gonna like make it the time of everyone's lives.
- 7:55Speaker 3: And you guys were wild.
- 7:57Speaker 1: They were wild.
- 7:58Speaker 2: Yeah, But in Austin, Austin was we saw titties, We
- 8:03Speaker 2: saw titties. Three to one girl stood up and showed
- 8:08Speaker 2: me her boom and I was like.
- 8:11Speaker 1: Oh damn, she's showing boobies.
- 8:13Speaker 2: And then another girl felt like she needed to compete,
- 8:15Speaker 2: so she pulled out both her boobs and I just
- 8:19Speaker 2: ran around the stage because I felt like a superstar.
- 8:22Speaker 1: I was like, holy, I'm a rock star.
- 8:24Speaker 2: Yeah, only rock stars have hot women flashing their tits.
- 8:29Speaker 1: Yep. By the way, every city too had like gorgeous people.
- 8:34Speaker 4: You guys looked amazing, Daming.
- 8:36Speaker 1: It all looked so amazing.
- 8:37Speaker 2: I almost felt like, why the fuck didn't you pull
- 8:40Speaker 2: it together a little more lot, But then my excuse
- 8:43Speaker 2: was like gotta hawk this March.
- 8:46Speaker 1: We have to, that's true.
- 8:48Speaker 4: No, but everyone looked so good. You guys are all drunk.
- 8:50Speaker 3: I was like noting outfits in my head to copy same.
- 8:55Speaker 1: I did that.
- 8:55Speaker 4: Yeah, I was like, okay, noting.
- 8:57Speaker 3: But also I feel like Clearwater audience didn't know this,
- 9:01Speaker 3: or maybe you said it you Clearwater was the first
- 9:03Speaker 3: show you didn't have a guest, right, you were a
- 9:05Speaker 3: little nervous about that.
- 9:07Speaker 1: I was about to vomit.
- 9:08Speaker 3: Yes, So then when you came out and not only
- 9:12Speaker 3: were they like I remember when you announced not having
- 9:14Speaker 3: a guest, they were like.
- 9:15Speaker 2: We don't care.
- 9:19Speaker 6: I was like, oh, I love you guys.
- 9:20Speaker 3: It was just like I think it was just really unexpectedly,
- 9:25Speaker 3: like beyond what we expected, you know.
- 9:27Speaker 2: Yes, Yeah, and I thought the dates that we had
- 9:30Speaker 2: guests for we're gonna be the better dates. I almost
- 9:35Speaker 2: feel like the ones we didn't have guests for were equal,
- 9:38Speaker 2: if not better, because I got to interact with the
- 9:42Speaker 2: audience more. Yes, Yes, which is what I wanted, you know,
- 9:45Speaker 2: even though like it was my show, I kind of
- 9:48Speaker 2: felt like it was our show, like we're here kicking
- 9:50Speaker 2: it and having a good time.
- 9:51Speaker 3: Yeah, And I feel like that's how a lot of
- 9:52Speaker 3: people felt and you spilled tea Like. There were times
- 9:55Speaker 3: where I was like, oh my god, I can't believe
- 9:57Speaker 3: she just said. Oh.
- 9:58Speaker 1: There's so many times where I'm like fuck. And you
- 10:00Speaker 1: know in the meet and greets of the like VIP.
- 10:02Speaker 2: Of twenty where there were only like twenty five at
- 10:05Speaker 2: most and they weren't allowed to have their phones. Yeah,
- 10:08Speaker 2: and I just shared my whole life story.
- 10:13Speaker 3: Do you think you I think it was great? Do
- 10:15Speaker 3: you think you will do it again?
- 10:17Speaker 5: Yes?
- 10:17Speaker 2: I want to do it again. Yeah, yes, I want
- 10:20Speaker 2: to do it again. I now know the drill, I
- 10:22Speaker 2: now know what to pack.
- 10:23Speaker 1: Yeh.
- 10:23Speaker 4: Oh my god.
- 10:24Speaker 3: I literally ran out of clothes within six days.
- 10:28Speaker 2: I can't even talk about it because I like the
- 10:32Speaker 2: only sweatsuit I wore was I've taken up reading books. Yeah,
- 10:38Speaker 2: thank god it was cute because and I always felt cute.
- 10:41Speaker 2: I washed it twice. The first time, thank god we
- 10:44Speaker 2: had a washer and dryer in the room. The second
- 10:46Speaker 2: time I called downstairs and was like, can you wash
- 10:49Speaker 2: this and get it back to me by like stop?
- 10:51Speaker 5: Yeah?
- 10:51Speaker 1: And they did it. No, they did it. And I
- 10:53Speaker 1: can't remember where we were. The first wash win near water.
- 10:58Speaker 1: The first wash was clear. Water. Remember what the room
- 11:00Speaker 1: looked like. I couldn't tell you the city.
- 11:03Speaker 4: It was probably Texas.
- 11:05Speaker 1: It was after New Orleans was Oh, was Madison there?
- 11:09Speaker 4: It was probably Texas because it went to Nashville.
- 11:12Speaker 1: No Graduate, Graduate, it was Nashville.
- 11:16Speaker 3: Oh that's so great. Oh and we had two days there,
- 11:19Speaker 3: so that would make sense.
- 11:20Speaker 1: Yes, that's where it was.
- 11:22Speaker 3: Well, shout out to the graduate for washing La Las
- 11:25Speaker 3: No too, I know that's amazing. Wait, in the last
- 11:30Speaker 3: episode you were recording from the graduate. Yes, that's hilarious.
- 11:35Speaker 2: Yeah, they washed it for me, so it did get
- 11:37Speaker 2: two good washes, and then luckily matt our tour manager,
- 11:41Speaker 2: gave me a second second set.
- 11:43Speaker 1: So I just like alternated between the two.
- 11:46Speaker 4: That's so funny. So you would do it again?
- 11:48Speaker 1: I would do it again.
- 11:48Speaker 3: Would you change anything? I mean, obviously it would be different,
- 11:51Speaker 3: but like.
- 11:52Speaker 1: I would change.
- 11:53Speaker 2: I would want my baby with me and my mom okay,
- 11:55Speaker 2: and then I would just venture into different cities and
- 11:58Speaker 2: I would talk differently. And I would also would take
- 12:00Speaker 2: a different hairbrush because the brush I had with me
- 12:02Speaker 2: fucked my.
- 12:02Speaker 4: Hair up, it did you guys? She showed me the
- 12:04Speaker 4: brush she was using, and I was like, what you
- 12:06Speaker 4: throw it away, Throw it away.
- 12:09Speaker 3: And we do see your comments about coming to like
- 12:12Speaker 3: the East Coast and New York and Boston and like
- 12:15Speaker 3: we talk about it a lot.
- 12:16Speaker 1: So that's all been noted already.
- 12:18Speaker 2: Yeah, these these are the places that people are requesting, yeah,
- 12:22Speaker 2: the most, and this is where we're going.
- 12:24Speaker 1: So that's what we're doing.
- 12:24Speaker 3: Oh and another thing that's so exciting while we were
- 12:28Speaker 3: gone that we haven't talked about is vander Pump Rules
- 12:32Speaker 3: is getting picked up again.
- 12:33Speaker 2: My gosh, I had forgotten because I found a cube
- 12:37Speaker 2: boy in Dallas and that's been consuming my time, but
- 12:40Speaker 2: I forgotten that. Uh, season ten of Vanner Pump Rules
- 12:44Speaker 2: has been picked up. Congrats to allow you.
- 12:47Speaker 3: How do you feel about it and how do you
- 12:50Speaker 3: feel like the season is gonna be filming and all
- 12:53Speaker 3: of it.
- 12:54Speaker 2: Well, that's the thing is like, even though the show's
- 12:57Speaker 2: been picked up, we as a cast, we don't know
- 12:59Speaker 2: our fate, you know.
- 13:00Speaker 1: Oh yeah, it's.
- 13:02Speaker 2: Like the show's been picked up. We don't know if
- 13:03Speaker 2: y'all will be a part of it. But Vanner Pump
- 13:05Speaker 2: Roules is back. I mean, I have a hard time
- 13:07Speaker 2: believing that, but I'm the type of person where I
- 13:09Speaker 2: don't count my chickens before they hatch. Right, So I
- 13:12Speaker 2: need someone to call me personally and say, we would
- 13:15Speaker 2: like you back.
- 13:17Speaker 1: On vander Pump Rules for season ten. Right, I get that.
- 13:20Speaker 1: I think, do you what do you think?
- 13:22Speaker 5: Well?
- 13:22Speaker 3: I was just gonna say, I think this season is
- 13:24Speaker 3: going to be iconic. I think it's I mean, you
- 13:26Speaker 3: have let's just I mean, we all know, we all know.
- 13:29Speaker 3: There's been breakups, there's been drama, there's been this, there's
- 13:32Speaker 3: been that. I think it's gonna be a wild season.
- 13:36Speaker 1: I mean, Brock and Sheen are getting married.
- 13:38Speaker 4: Oh my god.
- 13:39Speaker 1: There's so much to talk.
- 13:41Speaker 2: About, you know, and vander Pump Rules is a safe
- 13:44Speaker 2: place for me to open up and share what my
- 13:48Speaker 2: life is now like, right, you know, and diving back
- 13:52Speaker 2: into I don't want to say diving back into my
- 13:55Speaker 2: independence because that was never lost. It was heightened after everything.
- 14:00Speaker 2: But it'll just be like a completely I haven't been
- 14:04Speaker 2: single on vander Pump Rules since season four, my very
- 14:08Speaker 2: first season. Yeah wow, you know, and now I'm going
- 14:11Speaker 2: to be navigating like the dating world as a thirty
- 14:16Speaker 2: one year old single mother of a you know, almost
- 14:19Speaker 2: two year old. Yeah, well not almost if we start
- 14:22Speaker 2: filming this summer should be like a year and a half.
- 14:24Speaker 4: Year and a half.
- 14:24Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah.
- 14:26Speaker 4: Does that make you nervous?
- 14:27Speaker 3: Do you think you'll go or is it mostly excited
- 14:29Speaker 3: and like cause to me, I think about that and
- 14:32Speaker 3: I would be like, no, absolutely, are you joking?
- 14:35Speaker 4: Cameras are going to be around while I'm.
- 14:36Speaker 3: Like navigating dating and I haven't dated since the first
- 14:40Speaker 3: season I was.
- 14:41Speaker 1: On Ah, I see the stress in your face.
- 14:46Speaker 4: Just oh my god.
- 14:47Speaker 2: No, I don't think about it because I kind of
- 14:49Speaker 2: forget that cameras are there. It's just like this is
- 14:52Speaker 2: my I forget cameras are there when I'm over sharing,
- 14:55Speaker 2: but I remember they're there when I found my angle,
- 14:58Speaker 2: you know, like, can we get that camera to come
- 15:00Speaker 2: in from the right side?
- 15:02Speaker 1: I get that jaw line?
- 15:03Speaker 2: Yep, my nose tilts real cute on that side.
- 15:07Speaker 1: Yes, No, it's gonna be.
- 15:10Speaker 2: I mean I should be, because who knows how they're
- 15:12Speaker 2: gonna edit it together.
- 15:13Speaker 1: But as long as they make a great TV show,
- 15:14Speaker 1: then fuck it. I don't really care. Then you're good.
- 15:16Speaker 1: But no, I'm excited. Yeah, I'm super excited.
- 15:20Speaker 2: I just can I tell you I feel like I'll
- 15:22Speaker 2: be back at it the second I find one dude
- 15:26Speaker 2: who I go out with and we have fun, and
- 15:29Speaker 2: I'm like, I feel like I'll be back to myself
- 15:32Speaker 2: because you have to remember, like I don't really know
- 15:35Speaker 2: if you put a dude in front of me to
- 15:37Speaker 2: argue with, oh, I'd have no problem.
- 15:38Speaker 1: I could do that. Yeah, nobody's business.
- 15:41Speaker 5: Right.
- 15:41Speaker 1: Have you heard that before? He does this like nobody's business? Yes?
- 15:44Speaker 2: Okay, sure, yeah?
- 15:48Speaker 4: Oh wait, really quick on that.
- 15:50Speaker 3: I think I don't know if we kept it in,
- 15:51Speaker 3: but the one thing was up in the night that
- 15:54Speaker 3: Lala and her mom said, and the other thing was
- 15:56Speaker 3: that I was trying to think of. They say Johnny
- 15:58Speaker 3: on the Spot, so they'll be like he was like
- 16:00Speaker 3: Johnny on the Spot. With that, I don't know a
- 16:02Speaker 3: good example, but just to put that in there.
- 16:04Speaker 1: It's a great example.
- 16:05Speaker 3: Yess, he was Johnny on the Spot, like whatever, he
- 16:10Speaker 3: was Johnny on the Spot to pick up that paycheck?
- 16:13Speaker 1: Yes he was. Yes.
- 16:17Speaker 4: Back to back to what you were saying.
- 16:20Speaker 2: No, once I find that person where, oh, back to
- 16:22Speaker 2: like I know how to argue with h yeah dude, yeah,
- 16:25Speaker 2: I can do that, Like let's get it pop in yea.
- 16:28Speaker 1: How to do that. I've been doing it for six years.
- 16:31Speaker 2: But to be like emotionally connected and like express through
- 16:39Speaker 2: like touch or communication, that's going to be different.
- 16:46Speaker 1: I haven't done that in a while.
- 16:47Speaker 2: But I feel like once I find that dude, even
- 16:52Speaker 2: if it's just a guy that I'm hanging out with,
- 16:54Speaker 2: you need to be serious, just a guy, I'll be
- 16:57Speaker 2: back on the horse and I'll be back to being
- 16:59Speaker 2: my Yeah, I'm excited.
- 17:02Speaker 4: I'm excited. I think this season is going to be iconic.
- 17:06Speaker 4: And I said that, but I really do.
- 17:08Speaker 1: I found a cute boy in Dallas. By the way,
- 17:10Speaker 1: the men in Dallas are fine, Oh my.
- 17:12Speaker 3: The men in Texas, I've got to say, or at
- 17:14Speaker 3: least the cities. We were in Houston, Dallas, Austin.
- 17:18Speaker 1: Oh my god. I was like, what I want them all?
- 17:23Speaker 4: And I saw this man and he is a cute guy.
- 17:28Speaker 1: He was cute. He was like chilling.
- 17:31Speaker 2: Said something to me right before I was going to
- 17:33Speaker 2: go on stage, and I just, you know, was like,
- 17:35Speaker 2: how old are you?
- 17:35Speaker 1: He told me how old he was. I was like,
- 17:37Speaker 1: you're really cute, and it was just like, let's talk,
- 17:42Speaker 1: let's talk.
- 17:43Speaker 3: No, he said what he did, and the listeners will
- 17:46Speaker 3: appreciate that because the listeners brought you this man or
- 17:49Speaker 3: the audience.
- 17:50Speaker 2: No, it was literally right before I went on stage
- 17:52Speaker 2: at House of Blues.
- 17:53Speaker 3: His opening line, Talala was like, hey, is this your show?
- 17:56Speaker 3: Because you're the audience members are awesome?
- 18:00Speaker 4: Badass.
- 18:01Speaker 1: He did say that.
- 18:02Speaker 5: Yeah, so that.
- 18:03Speaker 4: Was like his opening.
- 18:04Speaker 3: So, whoever was there at the Dallas show, good for
- 18:06Speaker 3: you for bringing Lalla this man.
- 18:08Speaker 1: Yeah, that's where it happened.
- 18:10Speaker 4: He like popped in the back door. It was right
- 18:12Speaker 4: when Laala was about to go on to say that.
- 18:15Speaker 3: He must have like run into some of you or
- 18:17Speaker 3: you all were just like being having a lot of
- 18:19Speaker 3: fun out front before in line before you came in.
- 18:22Speaker 4: But he popped in the back to say that to Lala.
- 18:24Speaker 1: Yeah. Yeah, he was so cute.
- 18:27Speaker 4: He was cute.
- 18:28Speaker 1: Yeah. So there's that.
- 18:30Speaker 4: So we'll see, maybe we'll have an update, maybe not.
- 18:32Speaker 2: What a great way to close the tour, an epic audience,
- 18:36Speaker 2: the best show and a fine man.
- 18:39Speaker 4: Yeah right, yes.
- 18:42Speaker 1: The best way.
- 18:43Speaker 2: If that is the recipe for an epic finale show.
- 18:49Speaker 4: That I agree, it's great. It was great.
- 18:53Speaker 2: I'm excited for today's podcast guest. Her name is Serena Kerrigan.
- 18:58Speaker 2: If you do not follow her on Instagram, it is
- 19:00Speaker 2: a must right now because I thought that I was
- 19:03Speaker 2: the Mother Teresa of spreading confidence.
- 19:07Speaker 1: No, this bitch has me beat.
- 19:09Speaker 2: I don't know if she labeled herself this or if
- 19:11Speaker 2: other people did, but she is the Queen of confidence
- 19:15Speaker 2: and I've been following her. I want to deep dive
- 19:18Speaker 2: into like how she how she realized that you can
- 19:23Speaker 2: bust through glass ceilings. I'm inspired by people like that
- 19:27Speaker 2: who don't take no for an answer. Me too, and
- 19:29Speaker 2: then find random shit and they're like, I think I'm
- 19:32Speaker 2: going to do that and make money off of it,
- 19:33Speaker 2: and then they do it and you're like, this is brilliant.
- 19:35Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 19:36Speaker 2: She was like this card game that I really need
- 19:39Speaker 2: her to tell me, Like, I just I've never met
- 19:41Speaker 2: anyone in our age group that's like card game.
- 19:44Speaker 1: She made a card game, Yes, like a dating card game.
- 19:47Speaker 3: Oh my god, that's so cool. Yeah, so I want
- 19:49Speaker 3: to know about it, Yeah, because I may need them.
- 19:53Speaker 3: They need these dating card games, you know. Yeah, me
- 19:56Speaker 3: and I need a little guidance.
- 19:59Speaker 1: So that's who's on the podcast.
- 20:01Speaker 2: I just want to say thank you again to every
- 20:03Speaker 2: single person who came out to any of the tour dates.
- 20:06Speaker 1: You guys really do rock my world.
- 20:08Speaker 2: I know, I get cheesy, I know I say it
- 20:10Speaker 2: all the time, but you provided me with a life
- 20:13Speaker 2: that I literally used to dream about, and without you,
- 20:17Speaker 2: it would not be this way.
- 20:19Speaker 1: So thank you for listening to my podcast. We will
- 20:22Speaker 1: be right back with Serena Fucking Carigan.
- 20:30Speaker 2: We're back my loves and I have the amazing Serena
- 20:34Speaker 2: Karragan and I have to hi Babe for survive.
- 20:38Speaker 1: Hi, thanks for coming on to give them Lalla podcast.
- 20:41Speaker 2: I have to say, I'm like very intrigued by you.
- 20:45Speaker 1: You're like NonStop.
- 20:47Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 20:47Speaker 6: I just almost like cried in the middle of the meeting,
- 20:49Speaker 6: So yeah.
- 20:51Speaker 1: Did you really?
- 20:51Speaker 5: Yes?
- 20:53Speaker 1: What are you? Overwhelmed?
- 20:54Speaker 6: Extremely well?
- 20:55Speaker 2: I feel like with you, there's like no ceiling, like
- 20:59Speaker 2: you're like ready to just take it all on.
- 21:01Speaker 1: You don't say no.
- 21:02Speaker 5: Yeah, I don't and that can come with its own set.
- 21:05Speaker 6: Of challenges, I know.
- 21:07Speaker 2: And I first of all, so you're you're like the
- 21:11Speaker 2: AKA Queen of confidence. Does that just come naturally to
- 21:15Speaker 2: you or how did you label yourself that or did
- 21:18Speaker 2: other people label you that?
- 21:20Speaker 5: Oh? No, I think that like any label that I
- 21:22Speaker 5: have is because I just created it for myself.
- 21:25Speaker 1: So I love it.
- 21:26Speaker 5: Anything that you want to be you can, you literally
- 21:28Speaker 5: just have to decide, and you just say it was
- 21:30Speaker 5: so much conviction that people eventually just start to believe you.
- 21:34Speaker 5: I was someone who wasn't confident. I struggled a lot
- 21:36Speaker 5: with my confidence growing up, and then I changed my
- 21:39Speaker 5: meland to fucking and I said, it was so much
- 21:41Speaker 5: conviction people believe me. And then I became really confident
- 21:45Speaker 5: because I just kind of kept, you know, going back
- 21:48Speaker 5: to that character or persona that I kept tapping into,
- 21:51Speaker 5: and then I was like, you know what, fuck it,
- 21:53Speaker 5: I'm going to be the Queen of confidence and I'm
- 21:54Speaker 5: going to help other women and people, you know, feel
- 21:57Speaker 5: confident about themselves. And so yeah, that's kind of how
- 22:00Speaker 5: we got there.
- 22:01Speaker 2: I love that because there are many times that people
- 22:04Speaker 2: ask me how they can display the confidence I have,
- 22:08Speaker 2: and I always say, you fake that shit until you
- 22:12Speaker 2: actually wake up and feel it, and that's exactly what
- 22:16Speaker 2: you did as well.
- 22:17Speaker 5: Yes, and no, I don't really believe it's fake because
- 22:20Speaker 5: I believe that we actually are born with confidence.
- 22:22Speaker 1: I think you do.
- 22:24Speaker 5: Yes, We're all born with confidence. I mean, think about
- 22:26Speaker 5: when you were like four years old on a playground
- 22:28Speaker 5: and someone pushed to you and kind of just got
- 22:30Speaker 5: back up, and you like didn't think much about it. Like,
- 22:32Speaker 5: I think that over time, as we become older, we've
- 22:35Speaker 5: become kind of like infected by society and ideologies and
- 22:40Speaker 5: beliefs of who we should be, what we should look like.
- 22:43Speaker 5: And then that's why we begin to start to dislike
- 22:47Speaker 5: ourselves because we don't feel like we measure up to
- 22:49Speaker 5: certain beliefs or maybe if someone made a comment about us,
- 22:52Speaker 5: or you know, we don't look like you know, characters
- 22:55Speaker 5: on television.
- 22:56Speaker 6: But we were born with confidence. We're not faking it.
- 22:59Speaker 5: We're just kind of most reassessed, like we're uncovering it.
- 23:02Speaker 5: It's like it was like infected and we're like kind
- 23:04Speaker 5: of healing the wound and going back to who.
- 23:06Speaker 6: We truly are, which is loving ourselves. I mean, that's
- 23:10Speaker 6: what confidence is.
- 23:10Speaker 5: It's loving yourself and nurturing yourself like you're your own
- 23:13Speaker 5: best friend, believing in yourself. So it's kind of like
- 23:17Speaker 5: unlearning and relearning, which in a way, like it's just
- 23:19Speaker 5: it is in some ways like as okay, yes, was
- 23:22Speaker 5: it fake? It till you make it. I don't really
- 23:24Speaker 5: love the fake part because then it's.
- 23:26Speaker 1: Like, right, I get that, But was.
- 23:28Speaker 5: I channeling you know, a persona or someone that I
- 23:32Speaker 5: didn't feel, Yes, was truly me? Sure, But I did
- 23:35Speaker 5: it enough, and I did enough until I became that person,
- 23:37Speaker 5: So I totally know what you mean. I just get
- 23:40Speaker 5: careful over the word because when I tell people my
- 23:42Speaker 5: number one piece of advice is you have to go
- 23:44Speaker 5: to the mirror.
- 23:45Speaker 6: I know when people talk to them themselves in the mirror,
- 23:47Speaker 6: and I know when they don't, Like it's so obvious
- 23:49Speaker 6: to maybe.
- 23:49Speaker 2: Wait, tell me, tell me, tell me how you know
- 23:51Speaker 2: someone who does and who doesn't?
- 23:53Speaker 1: Like what are they till me?
- 23:54Speaker 5: Someone who's insecure in whom someone who's not anyone who
- 23:57Speaker 5: gets in the habit of literally like acknowledged loving, hyping
- 24:01Speaker 5: themselves up, especially to a mirror. Right, Like it's like
- 24:04Speaker 5: you have to look at yourself in the eyes you
- 24:07Speaker 5: just have, like you access a different level of confidence
- 24:10Speaker 5: that like I don't think you realize existed, because but
- 24:13Speaker 5: it makes sense, right, Like what do we do with
- 24:15Speaker 5: anyone in our lives that we love, whether it's a colleague,
- 24:18Speaker 5: a friend, a podcast, host, an influencer, a parent, a spouse,
- 24:24Speaker 5: a loved one.
- 24:26Speaker 6: We love them like we but how do we do that?
- 24:27Speaker 6: We verbalize it to them.
- 24:29Speaker 5: We say, like, you're amazing, you look great, You're going
- 24:32Speaker 5: to fucking kill that job interview.
- 24:34Speaker 6: I love listening to on that podcast. It's constant verbal affirmations.
- 24:38Speaker 6: But we never do that to ourselves ever. We weren't
- 24:42Speaker 6: talked to because we were taught that it was narcissistic.
- 24:44Speaker 5: We thought that it was arrogant, conceded, Oh, you think
- 24:47Speaker 5: so highly of yourself, Like but like if you think
- 24:51Speaker 5: about it, well, why is it with.
- 24:52Speaker 6: Every other relationship on our lives?
- 24:54Speaker 5: We're so quick that guy goes to do fuck him,
- 24:57Speaker 5: like you're so much better than him, like he doesn't
- 24:59Speaker 5: even write. But when it's like a guy goes to
- 25:00Speaker 5: me because I'm I'm the worst, Like I like I
- 25:02Speaker 5: don't believe, Like I'm not going to be loved, No
- 25:04Speaker 5: one loved me.
- 25:04Speaker 6: I'm not worthy. We're so critical.
- 25:08Speaker 5: So when you start to look in the mirror and
- 25:10Speaker 5: you see that person, it's helpful with the mirror because
- 25:13Speaker 5: it's almost kind of like that person isn't you, So
- 25:15Speaker 5: you can look at them and you can hype them
- 25:18Speaker 5: up the same way you would have a conversation with
- 25:20Speaker 5: anyone else in your life. And if you can do
- 25:22Speaker 5: that every day, even if it's just like a wink, like,
- 25:25Speaker 5: it's like a little like acknowledging your present them, you
- 25:29Speaker 5: your goal.
- 25:30Speaker 2: Thene like truly, wow, you like really are the queen
- 25:32Speaker 2: of fucking confidence.
- 25:34Speaker 5: I mean I can't just come on and be like
- 25:35Speaker 5: I'm looking at but it's not like I gotta know.
- 25:37Speaker 1: But like, you should be a self help coach.
- 25:40Speaker 6: I was during the pandemic.
- 25:41Speaker 5: I did.
- 25:42Speaker 6: I did confidence coaching on Zoom. I started that.
- 25:44Speaker 2: So you did do that because I know that you
- 25:47Speaker 2: started doing like Instagram Lives that like turned into a
- 25:51Speaker 2: series which you have to know you're talking to someone
- 25:54Speaker 2: who is technologically challenged. Instagram is not my friend. I'm like,
- 25:58Speaker 2: it's so hard to even.
- 26:00Speaker 1: Get into this.
- 26:01Speaker 2: How what was like the format of your Instagram Live
- 26:07Speaker 2: series and was that intimidating?
- 26:09Speaker 5: Well, okay, so the format was like every Friday during
- 26:11Speaker 5: the pandemic, I went on Instagram Live and I dated
- 26:15Speaker 5: men blindly.
- 26:16Speaker 2: And you would take you would take the viewers on
- 26:19Speaker 2: Instagram Live on the date with.
- 26:21Speaker 6: You, right right, they were watching and I would like,
- 26:23Speaker 6: literally like I had a producer, and she was like yeah,
- 26:25Speaker 6: at first it was a friend.
- 26:26Speaker 5: And then I was like, oh wait, this is gonna
- 26:28Speaker 5: this is poping off, Like I need to hire someone,
- 26:30Speaker 5: hire a producer. She'd be like, I've edit a bunch
- 26:31Speaker 5: of guys submitted by your friends and family, and you
- 26:34Speaker 5: know Randos, you're gonna like, let use your name Paul
- 26:38Speaker 5: let In. And I was like, okay, So I let
- 26:40Speaker 5: him into the live and we can go on a
- 26:41Speaker 5: date for thirty minutes.
- 26:42Speaker 2: Because it was during the pandemic, you couldn't go to
- 26:44Speaker 2: you couldn't go out, and about.
- 26:46Speaker 5: You were both in our living room. I had my
- 26:48Speaker 5: ring light and glass of wine and you just go
- 26:51Speaker 5: on that date.
- 26:51Speaker 1: Oh my gosh. I would be so nervous.
- 26:55Speaker 5: It was so fun. It was so fun.
- 26:57Speaker 1: It was fun. Did you did you like any of
- 26:59Speaker 1: the guys?
- 26:59Speaker 5: Yeah? I did. There was definitely a lot of drama.
- 27:01Speaker 5: It was like a real show. Like it was like
- 27:03Speaker 5: there was a villain, There was like tea, there was feelings,
- 27:06Speaker 5: there was tears, like there was a whole thing.
- 27:08Speaker 2: Yeah, okay, so I'm so into this right now, Like
- 27:11Speaker 2: I'm so into what everything you're saying, okay, so tell
- 27:15Speaker 2: me this. Would the guys come back if you like
- 27:18Speaker 2: enjoyed your time?
- 27:19Speaker 1: Was it the same? It was like a cast, So.
- 27:22Speaker 5: Basically like if the guy, if I liked him, I
- 27:25Speaker 5: would have him come back for a second date and
- 27:28Speaker 5: that would be a full hour and we'd do like
- 27:29Speaker 5: an activity like a live. Yeah.
- 27:32Speaker 6: And then the third season. I did three seasons at
- 27:34Speaker 6: the show.
- 27:34Speaker 5: I did fifty guys like in a year, so like
- 27:37Speaker 5: I did like I did a lot. And in the
- 27:39Speaker 5: third season, we changed up the format so the audience
- 27:43Speaker 5: would vote for their favorite and that was like had
- 27:45Speaker 5: brackets and that was like more fun, like guys would
- 27:47Speaker 5: go ahead to head with each other. And then the
- 27:50Speaker 5: very last episode of the season finale, the guy ended
- 27:53Speaker 5: up flying to New York to see me, and like
- 27:55Speaker 5: he surprised me during the live, so I thought we
- 27:58Speaker 5: were just going to do our typical thing, you know,
- 28:00Speaker 5: doing talking, and he ended up being like at my doorstep.
- 28:03Speaker 1: And are we still dating him?
- 28:05Speaker 5: Oh my god.
- 28:06Speaker 2: No.
- 28:06Speaker 6: That lasted, like we get fizzled after a month.
- 28:08Speaker 5: But it was interesting, Like I thought I liked him
- 28:10Speaker 5: a lot more than I did because the audience was
- 28:12Speaker 5: so like just down, you know, they voted for him.
- 28:18Speaker 5: They thought that we were so cute, you know, And
- 28:20Speaker 5: it's really interesting when like how an audience and public
- 28:23Speaker 5: perception can really like impact your idea of someone.
- 28:26Speaker 6: Not that there was anything wrong with him, We just
- 28:28Speaker 6: weren't the right match, but.
- 28:29Speaker 5: I was willing to overlook so many things because like
- 28:32Speaker 5: he we were perfect together. But it's like we didn't
- 28:36Speaker 5: even know each other. Our audience doesn't it us, you
- 28:39Speaker 5: know that well, so that was kind of why that
- 28:42Speaker 5: kind of fizzled out. It just like wasn't the right match.
- 28:44Speaker 5: But it was so interesting, like how much I felt
- 28:46Speaker 5: a responsibility to almost like have feelings for him because
- 28:50Speaker 5: you know, my audience like was so down and like
- 28:52Speaker 5: hyped up that.
- 28:53Speaker 1: They were right or die for him, which is.
- 28:54Speaker 5: Fair, like they they want me to be happy, but
- 28:57Speaker 5: like I think that they also realized that, like I've
- 28:59Speaker 5: never to settle.
- 29:00Speaker 2: So you know, Okay, so he shows up to New York.
- 29:05Speaker 2: You had no idea he was coming, and what did
- 29:07Speaker 2: you guys go and do?
- 29:08Speaker 5: We sat on the couch because we had an entire
- 29:11Speaker 5: live audience watching us. So we like played by card
- 29:14Speaker 5: game and I have a card game called let's fucking
- 29:16Speaker 5: date and it's planned dates to play anywhere really like
- 29:21Speaker 5: you can live okay, like you can play with groups
- 29:23Speaker 5: of friends if you're a couple, and like it's in
- 29:26Speaker 5: four bases, so it goes first base, second base, third base,
- 29:29Speaker 5: home run. So as the questions, like the higher the base,
- 29:32Speaker 5: the hotter the questions, so they get hotter and hotter
- 29:34Speaker 5: and hotter. I it was definitely like I just remembered
- 29:38Speaker 5: like he didn't really like want to be touching with
- 29:41Speaker 5: me on camera and like I'm like, you just flew
- 29:44Speaker 5: to fucking New York, like.
- 29:45Speaker 6: We right, but afterwards we went to go get a drink.
- 29:49Speaker 5: But it was definitely again it was weird, like it
- 29:51Speaker 5: was weird, like this is someone like I was like
- 29:53Speaker 5: dating virtually, but like you know, I did actually end
- 29:57Speaker 5: up like you also do know each other already because
- 30:00Speaker 5: it's like ultimately, like that show shows you that like
- 30:04Speaker 5: the foundation of any great relationship is conversation rights able
- 30:07Speaker 5: to talk.
- 30:08Speaker 6: So we already did that for a couple of hours
- 30:10Speaker 6: in front of an audience.
- 30:11Speaker 5: It was interesting to kind of like be in private
- 30:14Speaker 5: and like get to know each other like intimality like that.
- 30:16Speaker 2: I mean, I love that you have this card game.
- 30:20Speaker 2: Do you feel like it would I'm new back into
- 30:23Speaker 2: the dating scene, and like I always wonder like how
- 30:27Speaker 2: you break the ice that's so like this is how
- 30:30Speaker 2: you break it is the card game. Yes.
- 30:32Speaker 5: So people are literally like wait, like how do I
- 30:34Speaker 5: even bring it up on the date? And I'm like
- 30:36Speaker 5: literally like who have you ever met in your life
- 30:38Speaker 5: that like you're like, hey, I want to play a game.
- 30:40Speaker 5: They're like no, man, Like then you shouldn't date that.
- 30:44Speaker 1: You shouldn't fade on.
- 30:45Speaker 5: No, it's so fun, Like I've heard stories of people
- 30:48Speaker 5: like bring them on a date then like you know,
- 30:49Speaker 5: like the waiter, like the server ends of playing and
- 30:52Speaker 5: other people play like it's really it's like a good
- 30:54Speaker 5: icebreaker game because it's not like the questions like are
- 30:56Speaker 5: on corny, like they're fun.
- 30:57Speaker 1: So I have to ask you what made you want
- 30:59Speaker 1: to come up with card game?
- 31:00Speaker 2: Because it's super super random, Like I have yet to
- 31:04Speaker 2: meet anybody who just says like, and your your resume
- 31:09Speaker 2: is huge, like there's nothing that you really haven't done,
- 31:13Speaker 2: so of course you would have that you have a
- 31:15Speaker 2: card game on your resume, but like, what made you
- 31:18Speaker 2: think that this is what you wanted to do.
- 31:19Speaker 5: You're so sweet?
- 31:20Speaker 6: No, I mean honestly, like it was because of the
- 31:23Speaker 6: dating show.
- 31:24Speaker 5: I had to every week go on a new date
- 31:26Speaker 5: and like, you know, it was it was a TV
- 31:28Speaker 5: show that I created, but like it was a TV show,
- 31:31Speaker 5: so it couldn't be like the typical like.
- 31:33Speaker 6: Oh like do you oh, where do you go to school?
- 31:35Speaker 2: Oh?
- 31:35Speaker 5: Do you know this person? Like it had to be
- 31:38Speaker 5: entertaining for the audience as well, and I had to
- 31:41Speaker 5: get to know I had to get in fast, Like
- 31:43Speaker 5: I couldn't be like what do you do for fun?
- 31:45Speaker 6: Like it had to get right to the good stuff.
- 31:47Speaker 5: So you know, like one of the questions is like
- 31:50Speaker 5: what is something you wanted to say to me but
- 31:52Speaker 5: you haven't yet? Like that's a great question, like that
- 31:54Speaker 5: like right, not quite, that's a sexy question. So what
- 31:58Speaker 5: I started doing was just writing now fun questions and
- 32:01Speaker 5: then the list kind of before every episode because I
- 32:03Speaker 5: had to come up with new stuff, and it literally compiled,
- 32:05Speaker 5: and I remember after a couple of episodes, girls were like, hey,
- 32:09Speaker 5: like do you mind sending me those questions? Like they
- 32:11Speaker 5: were really good? And I was like, what if I
- 32:14Speaker 5: created something that no one would ever feel like nervous
- 32:18Speaker 5: on a date because they even if they don't even
- 32:20Speaker 5: use the card game, it's there. And I can't tell
- 32:22Speaker 5: you how many people like men, women are like thank
- 32:26Speaker 5: god for your card game. It got me out of
- 32:27Speaker 5: a mind.
- 32:28Speaker 6: Or like it taught me that the person wasn't for me.
- 32:31Speaker 5: There are a lot of questions on there, and I
- 32:32Speaker 5: have three, by the way, and Let's Fucking Date that
- 32:35Speaker 5: I made, one called Let's Fucking Fuck, and.
- 32:37Speaker 6: I also have another one called Let's Fucking Play. So
- 32:39Speaker 6: they're all like, you know, they're all essentially you could
- 32:42Speaker 6: mix them together. They're all the same format, but like
- 32:44Speaker 6: you know, I think Let's Fucking Fuck is obviously, you know,
- 32:47Speaker 6: a little sexier, yeah, and Let's Play is like.
- 32:49Speaker 5: A little more intimate vibes, like a little like you know,
- 32:52Speaker 5: just goes a little deeper. So I think the thing
- 32:55Speaker 5: about these games is like what I've noticed that people
- 32:57Speaker 5: had the best exit of their life from them, Like
- 32:59Speaker 5: literally people have broken beds from it.
- 33:01Speaker 1: I'm like, where are you buying all of them? I'm
- 33:03Speaker 1: buying all of them now.
- 33:04Speaker 5: I'm sitting in jip, like where are you getting your
- 33:06Speaker 5: furniture if you're breaking your back I've never broken by that,
- 33:09Speaker 5: but really it happens often.
- 33:11Speaker 1: Your card game is making it happen.
- 33:13Speaker 5: Literally that and like the next generation of children because
- 33:16Speaker 5: a lot of pregnancies are occurring, and just be careful,
- 33:18Speaker 5: you know what I mean.
- 33:18Speaker 2: Oh, I'll be careful, honey. I'm in a new stage
- 33:21Speaker 2: of life. I'm going to start with it. Let's fucking dates.
- 33:25Speaker 2: Let's we'll stay in the safe zone.
- 33:27Speaker 5: You know.
- 33:27Speaker 1: We can save the fucking for later, you know.
- 33:30Speaker 2: But I am I'm getting all three of them because
- 33:32Speaker 2: I'm in the zone of like you know, they're I'm
- 33:36Speaker 2: my safe zone is like communication over like phone calls
- 33:39Speaker 2: or FaceTime text messages. There's not a lot of in
- 33:43Speaker 2: person with the people I'm choosing to speak to right now,
- 33:46Speaker 2: and that is a great way to like, you know,
- 33:49Speaker 2: not have it fizzle out and not be stale.
- 33:52Speaker 6: They're also really fun to play with FaceTime too. But
- 33:55Speaker 6: I think it's interesting that you say that about.
- 33:56Speaker 5: In person versus virtual because that's something I noticed like
- 33:59Speaker 5: postpan I mean, you know, post pandemic, we're not technically
- 34:02Speaker 5: completely out of it, but in this like you know,
- 34:05Speaker 5: moving out of it and getting back into the real
- 34:07Speaker 5: worlds like I've noticed that no one approaches you RL.
- 34:12Speaker 5: Like I feel like everyone's like on the apps. Everyone
- 34:15Speaker 5: it's so virtual and it's like it's so text heavy,
- 34:20Speaker 5: and like you know, you call them, it's like weird.
- 34:22Speaker 5: It's like why, like I find so much gets like
- 34:25Speaker 5: lost over text. You know, I don't know how you
- 34:28Speaker 5: feel about it, but I just feel like it's like
- 34:30Speaker 5: kind of like frustrating.
- 34:31Speaker 2: No, I am the worst text in the world right
- 34:33Speaker 2: now on my phone, I have like five hundred and
- 34:36Speaker 2: sixty seven on read text messages and for a virgo,
- 34:39Speaker 2: you know, you would think I'd be panicking, but I'm
- 34:41Speaker 2: into phone calls.
- 34:42Speaker 1: I'm into FaceTime.
- 34:43Speaker 2: Like even though, like you said, the pandemic really made
- 34:47Speaker 2: everybody kind of sink into a hole and get really
- 34:50Speaker 2: nervous about inner like we're having to relearn how to
- 34:52Speaker 2: interact with people in real life.
- 34:55Speaker 1: Fully, you're a smart bitch. Graduated.
- 35:00Speaker 2: I read that you graduated from Duke Okay as someone
- 35:03Speaker 2: who went to community college.
- 35:06Speaker 1: That is inspiring as fuck.
- 35:09Speaker 6: It's fine, Like, I mean it's fine.
- 35:12Speaker 5: No, I mean it is inspiring. But you know what,
- 35:14Speaker 5: Like I think that there's a lot of emphasis placed
- 35:18Speaker 5: on these elitist schools, and.
- 35:20Speaker 6: Like, yes, did I love Duke?
- 35:21Speaker 5: Was It's so fun?
- 35:22Speaker 6: I'm so fucking literally I loved it.
- 35:23Speaker 5: But like what I've noticed over time as being older,
- 35:27Speaker 5: it's like it literally doesn't fucking matter where you went
- 35:29Speaker 5: to school. It, Matt, it's your drive and it's like
- 35:32Speaker 5: your passion, and it's like being social, being a nice person,
- 35:37Speaker 5: you know, right, So I just like, yes, I am proud,
- 35:39Speaker 5: but like.
- 35:40Speaker 2: So are you saying that you didn't graduate from from
- 35:44Speaker 2: Duke with a PhD In being the queen of fucking confidence.
- 35:49Speaker 6: You know what I did? So like, thank you so
- 35:51Speaker 6: fucking much for acknowledging that.
- 35:55Speaker 2: But I sometimes feel the same way like my a
- 35:58Speaker 2: lot of my friends, because I just always knew I
- 35:59Speaker 2: didn't want to go to school like college. It just
- 36:02Speaker 2: wasn't my thing, and everyone else was like going to
- 36:05Speaker 2: these incredible schools and then they didn't use their degree
- 36:09Speaker 2: for anything, Like what did you get your degree?
- 36:12Speaker 5: I'll tell you what. I got it in drinking, And
- 36:15Speaker 5: I'm just kidding, I got it in I think what
- 36:18Speaker 5: it really is is a network, Like I think that
- 36:20Speaker 5: that's ultimately like what I got out of it.
- 36:22Speaker 6: If we really want to like you know, and I
- 36:24Speaker 6: don't know if that was worth the tuition.
- 36:27Speaker 5: I don't know. I think like that's really what you
- 36:30Speaker 5: get out of that shit, and I just wanted to
- 36:32Speaker 5: go speak at DUPE.
- 36:33Speaker 6: They invited me back, which was kind of.
- 36:34Speaker 1: Fucking sick, and that's really fucking Students.
- 36:37Speaker 5: Asked me like what it like, what were your takeaways?
- 36:40Speaker 5: And I was like, it's really interesting. It's like I
- 36:42Speaker 5: was like, I wish I did a lot more on campus,
- 36:44Speaker 5: Like I wish I drore more clubs, and I was
- 36:46Speaker 5: more like, you know, I was really impressed. So many
- 36:48Speaker 5: students came to see me talk, and I was like
- 36:50Speaker 5: I didn't go that many talks, like I was just
- 36:51Speaker 5: like fucking around because like you're you're basically like nineteen twenty,
- 36:55Speaker 5: like you're like whatever, Like so I said that, but
- 36:57Speaker 5: I also I said, just like the people that you meet,
- 36:59Speaker 5: you know what I mean. But then again like if
- 37:01Speaker 5: you don't have that, like you mean people outside schools,
- 37:03Speaker 5: so but agree, no one goes like anyone who has
- 37:06Speaker 5: meet unless you're like a doctor, like it doesn't.
- 37:08Speaker 2: Matter, no, and if you're like us, I mean, I
- 37:11Speaker 2: just I just didn't feel like I needed to go
- 37:14Speaker 2: to the University of Utah to like do what I
- 37:16Speaker 2: needed to do.
- 37:17Speaker 6: And it's good that you had that gun instinct and
- 37:19Speaker 6: you listen to yourself.
- 37:20Speaker 2: Yes, because I'm one of very few that's like celebrating
- 37:23Speaker 2: that they paid off their student loans there, Like I
- 37:26Speaker 2: have so many friends that are like, I just paid
- 37:27Speaker 2: it off.
- 37:28Speaker 1: I'm like, holy fuck, we're grown and you just paid
- 37:31Speaker 1: it off.
- 37:32Speaker 6: Literally.
- 37:33Speaker 2: Okay, so you you have a plethora of things you've done,
- 37:37Speaker 2: including you've done like advertising things for listen to me,
- 37:42Speaker 2: I like, your world is so foreign to me, but
- 37:44Speaker 2: I'm impressed. Okay, you worked with Nike Absolute Plan B
- 37:49Speaker 2: one step like what they just reached out to you
- 37:52Speaker 2: and they were like, we need an epic marketing plan
- 37:54Speaker 2: for a campaign, Like can you help us?
- 37:56Speaker 5: You know they hire me, Like you know, they hire
- 37:58Speaker 5: a lot of influencers make content.
- 38:01Speaker 2: But I think that like they hire and me, babe,
- 38:04Speaker 2: Nike a reagion out to me to create content, So
- 38:07Speaker 2: teach me the ways.
- 38:08Speaker 5: Not yet, not yet, Okay, It's gonna happen soon if
- 38:12Speaker 5: that's what you want. I think, Like, really, it was
- 38:15Speaker 5: like I don't see what I make branded videos, Like
- 38:18Speaker 5: I don't see it as like, oh, like you're like,
- 38:19Speaker 5: I'm gonna tell you this water bottle. I'm like, how
- 38:21Speaker 5: can this water bottle fit into the narrative that is SFK,
- 38:25Speaker 5: this character that I created. So it's like, s Okay
- 38:28Speaker 5: is just like busy, fucking busy making money.
- 38:31Speaker 6: She's thirsty. She's thirsty for some dick. That's like, how
- 38:34Speaker 6: I do it?
- 38:34Speaker 1: You know what I mean?
- 38:35Speaker 5: Like I just came up out it out of my ass,
- 38:37Speaker 5: but that's essentially what I think about with the product.
- 38:39Speaker 5: Maybe not as sexual always.
- 38:41Speaker 1: I really fucking love you and SFK.
- 38:44Speaker 6: Is fringa fucking care again, yes.
- 38:46Speaker 2: Bitch, Okay, So you like really create a narrative for
- 38:51Speaker 2: the brand and they're like, okay, we have to have
- 38:53Speaker 2: this because again I told you I suck social media.
- 38:57Speaker 1: I feel like I'm ninety five, okay, okay, so this is.
- 39:00Speaker 5: I'm gonna tell you. I'm gonna stop your right here.
- 39:02Speaker 5: You don't speak badly about yourself ever. Ever you're saying
- 39:05Speaker 5: you can say I'm still learning the ropes.
- 39:08Speaker 1: I'm still learning the ropes.
- 39:09Speaker 6: But you're saying you suck, great and you suck. It's
- 39:12Speaker 6: not going to change as for as long as you
- 39:13Speaker 6: think that.
- 39:13Speaker 1: No, you're absolutely right, teach me more ways.
- 39:15Speaker 5: Hey Maggie's not reaching out, well now they will be
- 39:18Speaker 5: like Nike, you will one day. You know. That's the
- 39:20Speaker 5: That's that switch of the way you speak about yourself
- 39:24Speaker 5: is what will get you anything that you want. It's
- 39:26Speaker 5: truly believing it and always like turning into a positive.
- 39:29Speaker 5: But like listen, Like I could take up a camera
- 39:33Speaker 5: when I was fifteen years old and I was like,
- 39:34Speaker 5: I want to be I want to make movies, Like
- 39:36Speaker 5: that's what I want to do.
- 39:37Speaker 6: Wow, And that's what I will do because you know
- 39:40Speaker 6: how I am.
- 39:41Speaker 5: I get to say you just to say it. If
- 39:43Speaker 5: you keep saying it, it eventually just happens like bibdy bopdy
- 39:46Speaker 5: boot bitch. Like literally that's like my mentality. So but
- 39:49Speaker 5: I still picked up a camera and I was like,
- 39:50Speaker 5: I want to be a filmmaker. And so while I'm
- 39:52Speaker 5: not there yet, I use these little branded moments to
- 39:55Speaker 5: just like make a little movie for these brands, you know,
- 39:58Speaker 5: Like I did like one for Plan B and it
- 40:01Speaker 5: was kind of like inspired by Gossip Girls.
- 40:04Speaker 6: So I shot it like the met on the Steps
- 40:05Speaker 6: and it was like so fun.
- 40:07Speaker 5: But I was like this is like a little movie.
- 40:08Speaker 6: Like that's how I treat it.
- 40:09Speaker 5: And I think that that it's fun because my audience
- 40:12Speaker 5: isn't like, oh shit, she's trying to sell us Plan
- 40:14Speaker 5: B Like no, like I'm actually trying to sell you
- 40:17Speaker 5: a story, Like I want you to watch a story
- 40:20Speaker 5: and then if you like the products associated story, great.
- 40:23Speaker 2: So how long does it take you to like get
- 40:26Speaker 2: your little mini movies made made?
- 40:29Speaker 5: Yeah, I would say it takes like so this is
- 40:31Speaker 5: the thing too, because you know, fucking is very much
- 40:34Speaker 5: ingrained in my brand.
- 40:36Speaker 6: It's like I now, I'm like lucky enough where I've
- 40:39Speaker 6: like really proved myself.
- 40:40Speaker 5: So you know, they're brands that like don't care that
- 40:42Speaker 5: I use that word, but sometimes there is some maneuvering
- 40:45Speaker 5: that it has to happen. But you know, like I
- 40:49Speaker 5: would say, like it takes like two weeks to make something.
- 40:55Speaker 6: To ide eate it, shoot it, edit it, send it
- 40:59Speaker 6: to the brand.
- 40:59Speaker 2: Maybe it's revisions, but I am so impressed by you.
- 41:04Speaker 6: You're so speed love.
- 41:06Speaker 2: Just a real quick side note, do you think people
- 41:08Speaker 2: that say the fuck word a lot are intelligent than
- 41:11Speaker 2: most people?
- 41:12Speaker 1: More intelligent?
- 41:13Speaker 5: Way?
- 41:13Speaker 6: I read that somewhere and I was like, well, I'm.
- 41:16Speaker 2: Fuck yeah, yeah honestly, because if it's true, I'm a
- 41:19Speaker 2: fucking genius.
- 41:20Speaker 5: Well you literally we knew that already. Honey.
- 41:22Speaker 1: Okay, right, okay, oh my god, I love you. Okay.
- 41:30Speaker 2: My other question is do you have a calendar that
- 41:34Speaker 2: you like, I may be just stealing everything you're doing, Like, Okay,
- 41:39Speaker 2: Serena fucking Karrigan does it this way, so this is
- 41:42Speaker 2: how we're fucking doing it everybody. Do you have like
- 41:44Speaker 2: a calendar that you set out and you're like, okay
- 41:47Speaker 2: for the next However, many days this is dedicated to
- 41:50Speaker 2: plan B one step video.
- 41:52Speaker 5: No, I don't get that. Many days it's like I
- 41:54Speaker 5: got an idea, great, let's shoot to the brand. I'm
- 41:57Speaker 5: gonna shoot it. I'm gonna google cow like I think
- 41:59Speaker 5: if you blocks hour blocks and maybe dateloks, like if
- 42:03Speaker 5: it's a shoot, like I'll probably walk the day off
- 42:05Speaker 5: because I'm, you know, producing it and I'm in it,
- 42:09Speaker 5: and it's like I have a director, I have camera,
- 42:11Speaker 5: Like I treat it like a high level production. When
- 42:13Speaker 5: I first started doing this shit, my managers were like,
- 42:16Speaker 5: you're literally spending all your money on making the video,
- 42:18Speaker 5: Like all the money you're getting for the brand on
- 42:20Speaker 5: the video.
- 42:20Speaker 6: I was like, oh, no, I know, and they're like
- 42:22Speaker 6: like what do you need? Like are you okay? And
- 42:24Speaker 6: I was like, it's going to pay off.
- 42:25Speaker 5: Watch And I think it's true because it's like I
- 42:27Speaker 5: delivered them just like a piece of content that could
- 42:30Speaker 5: literally be on.
- 42:30Speaker 6: Your TV like a commercial.
- 42:32Speaker 5: And then it's just like you get to, you know,
- 42:35Speaker 5: work with bigger brands, get bigger budgets, whatever.
- 42:37Speaker 6: And by the way, one day we'll have a fucking
- 42:39Speaker 6: ad on the super Bowl.
- 42:40Speaker 2: Obviously duh, it's in the atmosphere. You just manifested that shit.
- 42:44Speaker 5: But I think it's like, really my vice for someone
- 42:46Speaker 5: who wants to do a lot of things challenging discovery,
- 42:49Speaker 5: it's like just literally get really specific.
- 42:51Speaker 6: On what you want in life, Like what do you want?
- 42:53Speaker 5: Like ask yourself that. Don't be afraid to say it.
- 42:56Speaker 5: You know. It's like you even said, like I don't
- 42:57Speaker 5: really want to go to college, like I wanted to
- 42:59Speaker 5: do something else, and you said that was so much
- 43:02Speaker 5: confidence while everyone your other friends were going to other schools,
- 43:04Speaker 5: but you stuck to that. I think that like having
- 43:06Speaker 5: that same confidence about anything else is what ultimately like
- 43:10Speaker 5: it's going to get you what you want. It's also
- 43:11Speaker 5: thinking like asking, like what do you want in life?
- 43:14Speaker 5: Like I'll tell you right now, I just wrote a
- 43:16Speaker 5: TV show. I want to get it made, like I
- 43:17Speaker 5: want to like act in it. I want to get
- 43:19Speaker 5: it done. I want it to be on a streamer.
- 43:21Speaker 5: I want to come back to your podcast. We're going
- 43:22Speaker 5: to talk about it.
- 43:23Speaker 1: Oh my gosh, you.
- 43:24Speaker 2: I want to shrink you down and keep you in
- 43:27Speaker 2: my pocket for real. I would be living like I
- 43:31Speaker 2: live the dream as it is, but I would be
- 43:33Speaker 2: living the fucking dream if I could just have you
- 43:36Speaker 2: with me at all times.
- 43:38Speaker 5: Well, we could be friends and I can hit you
- 43:39Speaker 5: up one hundred percent and remind you. But that's recentally
- 43:43Speaker 5: like that kind of vintality and like all this is
- 43:45Speaker 5: like what I try to share, Like I'm not like
- 43:48Speaker 5: a gatekeeper. I'm not like oh, like I'm killing it
- 43:50Speaker 5: and like I bet you would want to know how.
- 43:52Speaker 5: It's more just like I'm just honest, and I think
- 43:55Speaker 5: it's everyone's capable. I think people think, you know, things
- 43:59Speaker 5: aren't within their reach, but that's because they're insecure a
- 44:02Speaker 5: little bit. I think everything's within your reach truly. It's
- 44:05Speaker 5: just hearing people think too.
- 44:07Speaker 2: I love what you said at the very beginning of
- 44:09Speaker 2: the podcast, and I've been sitting on this because I agree.
- 44:13Speaker 2: I don't like the I don't like the word fake either,
- 44:16Speaker 2: And for me, I wasn't. I was not a confident child.
- 44:20Speaker 2: I wasn't confident until I was probably late twenties. And
- 44:27Speaker 2: I love that you said that you feel that we're
- 44:30Speaker 2: born confident, and we just it gets muddied up just
- 44:34Speaker 2: by being alive and growing and people saying certain things.
- 44:39Speaker 1: It's like getting back to the root of who you are.
- 44:42Speaker 5: That's what it is.
- 44:43Speaker 1: That's what it is, and that's the thing.
- 44:45Speaker 6: It's like the fakeness.
- 44:47Speaker 5: Ah, it's just saying that it's like, well, then it's
- 44:49Speaker 5: not really real, and then if it's not really real,
- 44:51Speaker 5: then it can leave at any time. Right, is who
- 44:54Speaker 5: you are When you were a little baby, you weren't insecure.
- 44:58Speaker 2: No, I love you said that that was for It
- 45:02Speaker 2: sounds so simple, but it's so fucking complex because we
- 45:06Speaker 2: are in this world right now, Like I feel so
- 45:09Speaker 2: badly for young kids who you know. I think I
- 45:12Speaker 2: was at the tail end of like flip phones and
- 45:16Speaker 2: like no internet on phones, there was no social media. Right,
- 45:20Speaker 2: you were too, and I'm so grateful for that because
- 45:22Speaker 2: these kids, now, no, they're fucked, they're fucked, and it
- 45:26Speaker 2: makes me so sad for them. And just to hear
- 45:30Speaker 2: you say something like that, like that shit needs to
- 45:34Speaker 2: be taught in fucking school, I know, right, that's why.
- 45:37Speaker 5: We're trying to get this message out. Baby.
- 45:39Speaker 1: No, I'm really, I'm really.
- 45:41Speaker 2: I was excited to have you on the podcast, but like,
- 45:43Speaker 2: you're a deep motherfucker and I really appreciate you being
- 45:46Speaker 2: so open. So I also want to know you always
- 45:50Speaker 2: say do it for the plot. Yeah, instead I do
- 45:54Speaker 2: it for the gram.
- 45:54Speaker 1: It's do it for the plot.
- 45:56Speaker 6: Everyone does it for the gram anyway, So let's do
- 45:58Speaker 6: it for the fucking plot.
- 45:59Speaker 2: Now.
- 45:59Speaker 1: Okay, wait, can you like elaborate please?
- 46:01Speaker 5: So do over the plot literally means like nothing matters,
- 46:04Speaker 5: because everything in your life matters, like every heartbreak, rejection, celebration, milestone, friendship,
- 46:12Speaker 5: every like, you know, time that you were like, oh
- 46:15Speaker 5: my god, why the fuck is this happening to me?
- 46:17Speaker 5: And then four months later you're like, that's why it
- 46:19Speaker 5: happened to me, because everything is like for the story
- 46:22Speaker 5: of your life. And I started saying you know, before
- 46:25Speaker 5: it like blew up all over the internet. Was like
- 46:27Speaker 5: I was like I'm a new character, Like that's just
- 46:28Speaker 5: like who I am, and like everything is for the
- 46:30Speaker 5: plot of my life, and so you know this. The
- 46:34Speaker 5: point isn't to like jump out the window for the plot. No,
- 46:36Speaker 5: obviously do it, like be safe and you know, take
- 46:39Speaker 5: calculated risks, but also like stop.
- 46:42Speaker 6: Letting fear get in the way of you living your life.
- 46:45Speaker 5: You're having your heart broken or fear of like going
- 46:48Speaker 5: after a job and maybe not getting it, or moving
- 46:49Speaker 5: to a new place and having trouble making friends, because
- 46:52Speaker 5: that struggle is the point and it's part of your
- 46:55Speaker 5: journey ultimately, and then you're gonna like realize you're like, oh,
- 46:58Speaker 5: that's why, Like now I know that, Like, you know,
- 47:02Speaker 5: quitting my job two weeks before the pandemic, I did that.
- 47:05Speaker 5: I didn't do it for the plot at the time.
- 47:06Speaker 5: I'm like, that was for my plot because then I
- 47:08Speaker 5: built this whole brand and TV show and card game
- 47:10Speaker 5: and I'm sitting next to you, across from you, like
- 47:13Speaker 5: if I hadn't quit my job, then I would I
- 47:16Speaker 5: be here in right.
- 47:17Speaker 1: Now, And that's terrifying.
- 47:19Speaker 2: I mean, to quit your job and just kind of
- 47:21Speaker 2: throw it into the universe's hands. And you know, you're
- 47:23Speaker 2: basically saying, I pray to God something catches me, because
- 47:28Speaker 2: I'm taking a huge risk right now.
- 47:31Speaker 6: See, But I didn't see it as something catches me.
- 47:32Speaker 5: It's like I will catch something.
- 47:35Speaker 1: Girl.
- 47:36Speaker 2: You need to write a book and it needs to
- 47:38Speaker 2: be like eight hundred pages.
- 47:40Speaker 1: Can you please do that?
- 47:41Speaker 6: Who's going to read an eight hundred beach book?
- 47:43Speaker 1: Fucking everybody? You're a genius.
- 47:46Speaker 5: You're so sweet. Okay, I will set the book for sure.
- 47:49Speaker 1: I need everything you're doing. I need the games.
- 47:51Speaker 5: Yeah, the game's done on a resne Wait, I also
- 47:54Speaker 5: have that cop by way, is it the vibrator one.
- 47:58Speaker 1: I'm drinking out of a Yes? It says it's a
- 48:01Speaker 1: vibe with the hand doing like a rock on.
- 48:03Speaker 2: But she has a vibrator and so you really of course, idio,
- 48:08Speaker 2: that's the less a vibrators.
- 48:10Speaker 5: Nice.
- 48:11Speaker 1: I know I dig them. Shout out to them.
- 48:13Speaker 2: Feel free to the podcast, Feel free to sponsor the podcast.
- 48:16Speaker 2: Oh my god, I had the fucking best time with you.
- 48:19Speaker 1: You have no idea.
- 48:20Speaker 5: Literally, you're the best.
