- 4:50Speaker 3: so that we can play some games, have some fun
- 4:53Speaker 3: with you guys. All right, So we're going to start
- 4:57Speaker 3: off with a segment called and Know your player. Everybody
- 5:03Speaker 3: thinks they know each other, but we're gonna we're gonna
- 5:06Speaker 3: see you who really knows. So we're gonna ask. We're
- 5:08Speaker 3: gonna have questions for y'all to answer, and then we're
- 5:11Speaker 3: gonna have questions for the daughter's to answer. So I'm
- 5:14Speaker 3: gonna ask you, each of you what's your daughter's favorite food?
- 5:19Speaker 3: Then you first, and then dad?
- 5:21Speaker 5: Uh Korean barbecue?
- 5:25Speaker 3: Okay, cocker, where is it?
- 5:31Speaker 4: It's like all over?
- 5:32Speaker 3: Got you, Cocker.
- 5:35Speaker 4: I'm your best. I've never heard a good job.
- 5:41Speaker 2: Okay, you got to cook your own damn food.
- 5:44Speaker 3: Oh that's what it is. I like those places. Okay, okay, okay, Dad.
- 5:50Speaker 1: My daughter is a vegan, correct, and that can range
- 5:55Speaker 1: from a lot of different things. There's no favorite. I mean,
- 6:01Speaker 1: if you wanted to say favorite is vegetable type vegans you.
- 6:06Speaker 4: Know food, which that's true.
- 6:10Speaker 3: Yeah I don't know, Yeah that's true.
- 6:13Speaker 1: You know he's not.
- 6:16Speaker 2: I'm going out.
- 6:18Speaker 3: No, he's right, I don't. I don't have a favorite
- 6:20Speaker 3: food by m vegan, So she is if y'all want
- 6:22Speaker 3: to eat grass with me? Just come over to my house.
- 6:25Speaker 1: That's why she looks so beautiful.
- 6:28Speaker 3: Okay, what's your daughter's biggest pet, peevey?
- 6:33Speaker 2: Well think about that one, the biggest pet, peeve dangle
- 6:45Speaker 2: the truth?
- 6:46Speaker 3: Okay, he said. People not telling the truth?
- 6:48Speaker 4: Oh for me?
- 6:49Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 6:52Speaker 4: Good, okay, yeah, one of them being honest.
- 6:57Speaker 1: She yeah, she holds daddy. She wants things to be
- 7:05Speaker 1: right all the time.
- 7:07Speaker 4: But I like that because you're outwardly positive. Yeah, you
- 7:11Speaker 4: want to be honest for me, I'm like, if you're
- 7:14Speaker 4: not telling the truth, like it shouldn't be a lie.
- 7:17Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, I'm with you.
- 7:20Speaker 4: Okay.
- 7:21Speaker 3: Last one before we ask y'all. Oh no, we don't
- 7:24Speaker 3: have to ask y'all that what's your daughter's favorite place
- 7:27Speaker 3: to shop?
- 7:28Speaker 2: Oh?
- 7:29Speaker 5: That one? I don't know that one. I'll be honest,
- 7:34Speaker 5: favorite place to shop?
- 7:36Speaker 3: Take a wild guess.
- 7:41Speaker 2: I really don't know.
- 7:43Speaker 4: I don't do you have a favorite place? Really?
- 7:46Speaker 3: Okay?
- 7:46Speaker 4: And you wouldn't know like what tzara is and yeah
- 7:50Speaker 4: definitely literally yeah yeah, but like you wouldn't know it
- 7:54Speaker 4: to be like she likes she's wearing, Like, no, you
- 7:58Speaker 4: know what it is.
- 7:59Speaker 3: But yeah, let me say this.
- 8:03Speaker 1: It could It could vary because all three of them
- 8:08Speaker 1: like the shop.
- 8:09Speaker 3: Who's who's all three?
- 8:11Speaker 1: Alexis you and your mama. And if I go shopping
- 8:16Speaker 1: with them, you know where I am. I walk in
- 8:18Speaker 1: the front door, I sit in a chair like this,
- 8:21Speaker 1: and I just stay there for three, three, four hours,
- 8:26Speaker 1: five hours and then well I leave. So it could
- 8:32Speaker 1: vary in terms of stores.
- 8:34Speaker 4: But isn't that hug at the end from all your
- 8:36Speaker 4: girls just so well, I don't want.
- 8:37Speaker 1: To be a part of that.
- 8:41Speaker 2: I don't want to be a part of it.
- 8:42Speaker 1: But it could be various stores.
- 8:47Speaker 2: Just hand a card over and.
- 8:49Speaker 3: He does well to tell the story about the time.
- 8:55Speaker 3: So when I was younger, Dad and I used to
- 8:57Speaker 3: fight a lot about my short skirts. I don't know
- 9:00Speaker 3: if you went through that phase where you had to
- 9:02Speaker 3: have the daisy dukes, had to have the short shirts
- 9:06Speaker 3: short skirts. I'm about to I'm about to set you
- 9:10Speaker 3: up so that you could I'm about to pass it
- 9:11Speaker 3: to you. So you finished the story, and so we
- 9:14Speaker 3: would we would argue about it. I would try to
- 9:17Speaker 3: leave the house. No, your skirt is too sure. I
- 9:19Speaker 3: didn't know it's not. Dad, He was like, this is
- 9:21Speaker 3: what I'm going to do. I'm going to hire my
- 9:24Speaker 3: tailor to design and fitch you for your clothes moving forward.
- 9:30Speaker 3: I already knew I wasn't going to do it, nor
- 9:32Speaker 3: was I going to wear it. I wasn't going to
- 9:34Speaker 3: participate in it. But for the sake of his feelings,
- 9:37Speaker 3: I said, sure, get your tailor over here to size
- 9:41Speaker 3: me so that you can have someone exactly. But again,
- 9:48Speaker 3: just for the sake of appeasing him, Sure, bring your
- 9:51Speaker 3: tailor over. His tailor comes over and he's fitting me
- 9:54Speaker 3: down for pants, skirts, jackets. Go ahead, done, finish the story.
- 9:58Speaker 3: What happened? What happened when I.
- 10:01Speaker 1: Got all the short skirts and the tight jeans and
- 10:06Speaker 1: I had some corduroy baggy pants and matching jackets.
- 10:13Speaker 4: May yeah, is that not cute?
- 10:16Speaker 2: No time?
- 10:17Speaker 1: Because you know they were wearing these short skirts. I
- 10:26Speaker 1: thought I hit a home run.
- 10:27Speaker 2: I really did.
- 10:28Speaker 1: It was you know, orange and living colors and.
- 10:32Speaker 2: Cross colors, wasted.
- 10:37Speaker 1: Wasted likes, just wasted money.
- 10:40Speaker 6: They never wore I didn't.
- 10:44Speaker 1: But they were baggy.
- 10:45Speaker 3: And that's where he messed up because he thought that
- 10:48Speaker 3: by sizing me up three times that that was going
- 10:53Speaker 3: to be you know.
- 10:54Speaker 1: I needed to get out of them tight jeans.
- 10:56Speaker 3: It didn't work. So more of the story, he wasted
- 10:59Speaker 3: his time and money. I didn't wear it, but he
- 11:03Speaker 3: so he left it alone.
- 11:05Speaker 2: My era and the era.
- 11:08Speaker 3: Okay, what's one thing your dad is most proud of you? Four?
- 11:15Speaker 3: Do you think? So now we're letting.
- 11:19Speaker 4: M I think you're proudest of me for my ability
- 11:27Speaker 4: to figure things out on my own. And yeah, I mean,
- 11:35Speaker 4: I just I've always handled things myself, and so even
- 11:39Speaker 4: into adulthood, I think that he knows that I'm self
- 11:43Speaker 4: sufficient and reliable and that I'm the last sibling to
- 11:46Speaker 4: call with drama or anything else.
- 11:49Speaker 5: I don't know about that part, but I might. I
- 11:55Speaker 5: would say this publicly. She is the only one I
- 11:58Speaker 5: don't worry about.
- 11:59Speaker 1: Wow, that's impressive, you said.
- 12:05Speaker 5: But yeah, she's the only one I don't have to
- 12:07Speaker 5: worry about. Very self sufficient, created her own lane and
- 12:12Speaker 5: thrived in it and still thrives in it.
- 12:14Speaker 2: And that's that's impressive to me.
- 12:17Speaker 5: You know, Like all the people that she's work with
- 12:21Speaker 5: and work for, it's like, I mean, they're like who's
- 12:24Speaker 5: who's and all of them got to be in fun
- 12:26Speaker 5: of that. Ilionaire. Okay, you know, and so that's dope
- 12:30Speaker 5: to me.
- 12:32Speaker 4: I think I was telling Mariah that what you told
- 12:37Speaker 4: me growing up of when I was finding a job,
- 12:40Speaker 4: that you said, like, if the world were to end,
- 12:42Speaker 4: you know, pick a job that you can still work,
- 12:45Speaker 4: because I remember you saying like, mechanics will always work doctor.
- 12:48Speaker 5: And find the one that they can't outsource and use
- 12:52Speaker 5: a beautiful.
- 12:55Speaker 4: Even more so, now, good for you.
- 12:58Speaker 3: I love that one thing my dad is most proud
- 13:03Speaker 3: of me for. I think it's just being a good
- 13:07Speaker 3: person and treating people kindly and moving through life with
- 13:14Speaker 3: no ulterior motive. I think that's one thing he's proud
- 13:18Speaker 3: of me for. And being self sufficient to a certain extent. Yeah,
- 13:23Speaker 3: I think that's why I make you proud.
- 13:25Speaker 1: Absolutely really do. Because you guys who kind of spread
- 13:30Speaker 1: at your wings. I remember when you first left high
- 13:33Speaker 1: school to go to college. That was a big blow
- 13:36Speaker 1: to your mama, but for me, it was like, shit,
- 13:39Speaker 1: they gotta go spread their wings. Yeah, figure some things out.
- 13:44Speaker 1: And you've done that over the years, which is so
- 13:48Speaker 1: special you and your sister likes us. Yeah, y'all seem
- 13:51Speaker 1: to kind of navigate the walk of life and figure
- 13:55Speaker 1: things out on your own. And you bump your head
- 13:58Speaker 1: once in a while and dad, Daddy's dad to patch
- 14:02Speaker 1: you up. But it's that's what that's what growth is
- 14:06Speaker 1: all about. I couldn't be more proud of you.
- 14:09Speaker 3: Yay, thank you guy.
- 14:11Speaker 2: Can I ask you?
- 14:17Speaker 4: I was gonna say, what is it like, you know,
- 14:20Speaker 4: whether for college or in life, but within like being
- 14:24Speaker 4: able to leave the home and know that you've got,
- 14:28Speaker 4: you know, a north star, like what you want, but
- 14:31Speaker 4: then that you've got this whole family behind you and
- 14:34Speaker 4: people who support you. How you're able to go out
- 14:36Speaker 4: into the world and feel safe at that age?
- 14:40Speaker 3: So that, oh my god, I love the question. I
- 14:44Speaker 3: have that sense of safety now. So I think that's
- 14:48Speaker 3: the word. I felt safe to go out into the
- 14:51Speaker 3: real world because I knew, no matter what, I had
- 14:54Speaker 3: my mom and dad to catch me just in case
- 14:58Speaker 3: I had to fall, And so I didn't leave scared
- 15:03Speaker 3: because I knew that I was spoiled, and not materialistically spoiled,
- 15:08Speaker 3: but I was spoiled because I had a strong foundation
- 15:11Speaker 3: at home and I always knew that if I needed
- 15:14Speaker 3: to come back home, that was an option for me
- 15:17Speaker 3: as well. So I didn't feel like they were pushing
- 15:20Speaker 3: me out and they were like, all right, see you later,
- 15:23Speaker 3: you know.
- 15:24Speaker 4: Right, Yeah, I asked you because in my industry, it's
- 15:30Speaker 4: instill at such a young age. And you know, the
- 15:33Speaker 4: kids who are like latched onto their parents, you can
- 15:36Speaker 4: tell that. It's like some children just have it in them.
- 15:39Speaker 4: They know that they can go out into the world,
- 15:41Speaker 4: and at that young age, when they're learning what they
- 15:44Speaker 4: need to know about life, they know that they can
- 15:47Speaker 4: go out and come back, you know. And yeah, I
- 15:51Speaker 4: think that gives you a lot of.
- 15:58Speaker 3: Exactly, But now the culture is shifting a little. True,
- 16:02Speaker 3: that's true, daughters, But I think it's important for boys
- 16:05Speaker 3: to have that sense of stability and knowing that if
- 16:09Speaker 3: they need to come home, they can come home. I
- 16:12Speaker 3: don't think this idea that that's not society.
- 16:15Speaker 5: Yeah, yeah, yo, mane, stop with that.
- 16:21Speaker 1: True.
- 16:22Speaker 2: People.
- 16:23Speaker 5: Yeah, you know, human beings at the end of the day.
- 16:25Speaker 5: And so I think sometimes we do our son to
- 16:28Speaker 5: disservice because we fall prey to that. Like, you'll figure
- 16:32Speaker 5: it out. I know that's what I had to do.
- 16:36Speaker 5: I had to figure I went along.
- 16:38Speaker 1: And growing up in a family of twelve, Yeah, he
- 16:42Speaker 1: was the youngest young girls and three boys. So you
- 16:49Speaker 1: have to figure things out. And you know, I lost
- 16:52Speaker 1: my parents at a very early age, so you you
- 16:57Speaker 1: learn to make ends meet and figure out things the
- 16:59Speaker 1: hard way in and I've turned out just fine.
- 17:10Speaker 3: What's your dad's go to phrase?
- 17:14Speaker 4: Man or? Like, oh my god, yeah, I know. Why
- 17:21Speaker 4: am I blinking on it? I can because I say
- 17:24Speaker 4: phrases to other people. You go first, Okay, I was
- 17:29Speaker 4: yeah basically, but I was like, I remember.
- 17:35Speaker 3: Police. I'll be like, yeah, you know Russ Russia. Russa's
- 17:42Speaker 3: shoe game is on points tonight.
- 17:44Speaker 4: She's kind of the same.
- 17:51Speaker 3: I'm like, damn now, like he shoes on fire please,
- 17:54Speaker 3: and then really.
- 17:58Speaker 2: She's got the lift turned out.
- 18:00Speaker 3: That's what he does all the time.
- 18:03Speaker 2: That's funny.
- 18:05Speaker 4: Yeah, I guess it's like harder for me to do
- 18:07Speaker 4: an impression in a way, like you're very one of
- 18:10Speaker 4: a kind, Like I don't know my body language. I
- 18:12Speaker 4: don't think I can mimic because you're very like just normal,
- 18:15Speaker 4: but like I don't know, you don't use like body
- 18:19Speaker 4: humor or anything, so I think just your phrases, like
- 18:22Speaker 4: you go, man, like we're telling you something that you
- 18:24Speaker 4: just don't want to be a part of. Basically, like
- 18:27Speaker 4: if I call him about my boyfriends are like work,
- 18:30Speaker 4: he's like getting me out of it.
- 18:37Speaker 3: That's not nice.
- 18:38Speaker 4: You don't want to hear about the boyfriends.
- 18:44Speaker 2: I don't even know if I can cuss on this
- 18:45Speaker 2: showing that. But you don't want that.
- 18:47Speaker 5: I don't want to hear none of about no boyfriends.
- 18:49Speaker 2: I don't none of them.
- 18:52Speaker 5: You didn't call me before you got them.
- 18:57Speaker 3: Didn't she didn't need assistance before.
- 18:59Speaker 5: It's But I will tell you that this is my
- 19:05Speaker 5: favorite phrase. Can't put the ship back in the horse.
- 19:09Speaker 3: I like that. I can't put the ship back in.
- 19:14Speaker 4: Explain done is done clean?
- 19:24Speaker 3: I know that's right. I'm gonna be saying that from now.
- 19:26Speaker 3: I'm about the horse.
- 19:32Speaker 2: All right.
- 19:33Speaker 3: So, what's one thing your dad thinks he's really good at,
- 19:38Speaker 3: but he might not be.
- 19:41Speaker 2: No such mm hmmm, go ahead, make something that.
- 19:47Speaker 3: Go ahead and make something.
- 19:50Speaker 5: It's true, like cooking, he's good baking the bomb really cooking.
- 19:58Speaker 4: Wait, what was the question? I thought you it's one.
- 20:00Speaker 3: Thing your dad thinks he's gonna.
- 20:02Speaker 4: But might not be. Not go ahead, but it's not
- 20:05Speaker 4: cooking because you are.
- 20:07Speaker 2: I know, I know.
- 20:11Speaker 4: It's your favorite dish.
- 20:12Speaker 3: Anything you can cook any so you can cook vegan food.
- 20:15Speaker 2: I can cook vegan food.
- 20:16Speaker 1: Stop.
- 20:17Speaker 4: I don't know. Maybe you short ribs I make.
- 20:22Speaker 2: I really can cook it s mother cook for sure.
- 20:26Speaker 1: I'm not eating.
- 20:28Speaker 4: All jokes I know, but I will say, don't eat
- 20:32Speaker 4: his chilli.
- 20:34Speaker 1: All these years i've known you, I ain't never known
- 20:36Speaker 1: you about cooking.
- 20:38Speaker 2: Because you're always clowning.
- 20:41Speaker 5: That's why have the time with But you can't super exposed.
- 20:52Speaker 1: What are we gambling?
- 20:54Speaker 3: Then?
- 20:55Speaker 2: Talk? Oh lord, god everything. I got a great story.
- 21:00Speaker 2: I tell you all because it might make.
- 21:06Speaker 1: Any any cheats and golf.
- 21:11Speaker 5: It's like the person that say you fought it, the
- 21:15Speaker 5: same thing the person that called you a cheetah.
- 21:17Speaker 2: Usually take the one who I'm gonna tell this story. Okay,
- 21:23Speaker 2: I was gonna say it for later.
- 21:24Speaker 5: But one of the things I respect so much about
- 21:26Speaker 5: Woody is the fact that he and Eddie Johnson are
- 21:30Speaker 5: like good people. So when I first learned how to
- 21:33Speaker 5: play golf, it was in Hawaii, one of the greatest
- 21:36Speaker 5: golf courses known the man. So they were going golfing
- 21:40Speaker 5: and I'm like, you know, I have my daughter with me,
- 21:45Speaker 5: but his too. There greatness as human beings like they
- 21:50Speaker 5: were like like your mom Eddie's mom, all leave her
- 21:55Speaker 5: with us.
- 21:55Speaker 2: We got her. You go ahead with the Fellas and
- 21:58Speaker 2: that was like the nicest thing.
- 22:00Speaker 1: You know.
- 22:00Speaker 5: That's my oldest daughter, Tierra, and it was like they
- 22:02Speaker 5: took care of her the rest of the trip. I
- 22:05Speaker 5: didn't have to worry about my daughter. They did that.
- 22:08Speaker 5: And so thank you so much.
- 22:15Speaker 1: Out of all the jokes and going to each other
- 22:19Speaker 1: over the years, we've always still maintained.
- 22:22Speaker 2: A great relations That's what I got.
- 22:24Speaker 1: You think about all the guys we played against and with,
- 22:27Speaker 1: you know, con that's what it's all about.
- 22:30Speaker 2: Brother sir, and the two of the truest people. Man.
- 22:34Speaker 2: It's still asked.
- 22:44Speaker 5: To put the rest of it. I'm got to start crying.
- 22:49Speaker 2: I don't do that.
- 22:51Speaker 3: It's so good, all right now, Okay, So the one
- 22:54Speaker 3: thing your dad thinks he's good at is making chili.
- 22:56Speaker 3: That's your answer.
- 22:58Speaker 2: I make great children saying talk about your mama right now.
- 23:01Speaker 4: I was just going to say it, don't eat his
- 23:04Speaker 4: chili because the last time I ate it like the
- 23:06Speaker 4: left side of my boggy body. Sadly, I'm trying to
- 23:16Speaker 4: be funny. I've never had his chili. I haven't I
- 23:22Speaker 4: haven't even a long time. But one thing that he's
- 23:27Speaker 4: not good at, I don't know. I can't think of
- 23:29Speaker 4: anything right now.
- 23:30Speaker 3: Well that's good old.
- 23:31Speaker 1: I got one.
- 23:32Speaker 3: I got one from my dad. Don't you One thing
- 23:37Speaker 3: my dad thinks he's really good at but is not
- 23:41Speaker 3: styling himself.
- 23:45Speaker 2: Hurts.
- 23:46Speaker 3: I really believe fashion stuff. He really thinks he's a
- 23:52Speaker 3: fashion that hurts. There is one time New York Knicks
- 23:57Speaker 3: era where he pulled out this polka dot black and
- 24:03Speaker 3: white blouse.
- 24:04Speaker 2: You got to show that shirt?
- 24:06Speaker 1: It was it was I don't know.
- 24:08Speaker 3: No, no, no. He thought what he thought was so
- 24:10Speaker 3: special about it was that he could fit his watch inside.
- 24:14Speaker 1: About what she's saying that.
- 24:16Speaker 3: So he really thought that he was doing something because
- 24:18Speaker 3: of how is that not what you call? It was tight?
- 24:27Speaker 3: It was tighter than the shirt that you have on
- 24:29Speaker 3: that and he had on denim jeans, and so he's
- 24:33Speaker 3: so proud of this outfit, you guys. He gets on
- 24:36Speaker 3: the plane and he's, you know, the players are there,
- 24:40Speaker 3: y'all are getting ready to go on on a wait trip.
- 24:42Speaker 3: He gets on the plane and he's just like he's
- 24:46Speaker 3: he's sitting by with all because he's waiting for the
- 24:49Speaker 3: guys to to compliment his So he's waiting. I think
- 24:55Speaker 3: it was Shump and Carmelo. They walk on and they're like,
- 24:58Speaker 3: what the hell you got on? Kind of hurt my feeling,
- 25:02Speaker 3: They hurt his feelings. He left this house so proud
- 25:06Speaker 3: of that outfit. It's a tight shirt with.
- 25:10Speaker 1: Thinking about what she's saying, all right, if you can
- 25:13Speaker 1: imagine your watch in a custom shirt.
- 25:19Speaker 6: And it's got to cut out, it's got to cut up,
- 25:22Speaker 6: but it's it's well put together, and it's his flush
- 25:25Speaker 6: and it snaps into the watch of the shirt and and.
- 25:30Speaker 1: It's it was but she had to see his shirt.
- 25:35Speaker 1: It all tied in together. It was so.
- 25:39Speaker 4: It was.
- 25:40Speaker 3: It was but.
- 25:42Speaker 2: The players, you.
- 25:43Speaker 1: Know how players on the NBA, they made me feel
- 25:46Speaker 1: this little.
- 25:47Speaker 3: It was the fact that he was standing to compliment his.
- 25:55Speaker 1: They they kind of get to the curve that him up.
- 26:02Speaker 2: That's true shirt.
- 26:05Speaker 3: Now I'm gonna try to find it after. I'm gonna
- 26:09Speaker 3: try to find it after.
- 26:11Speaker 5: Okay, that he always thought of himself as a well.
- 26:16Speaker 1: Ma, come, it's what we do, go ahe adult.
- 26:20Speaker 3: So now let's do the old school versus new school.
- 26:23Speaker 3: So I'm gonna have you guys ask us questions off
- 26:26Speaker 3: of the sheet of paper. Oh, we found it, We
- 26:29Speaker 3: found it. Look at the screen.
- 26:31Speaker 2: Look at that Oh there it is cold that shirt.
- 26:35Speaker 2: Come on, man, burn that picture.
- 26:39Speaker 3: But look at the pants. Look how he's just he's
- 26:42Speaker 3: a way.
- 26:44Speaker 1: Yes, yes, that was does anyone don't look nice? Is
- 26:54Speaker 1: not that bad?
- 26:55Speaker 3: You are such a kind hearted person. But let's be
- 26:58Speaker 3: for real. Dad, he said, in there with the hand
- 27:00Speaker 3: in his hair, was this twenty twelve? Okay, now it's like.
- 27:06Speaker 4: An eccentric kind of The shirt is.
- 27:11Speaker 3: Collar, he said, I don't even see the watch the shirt.
- 27:16Speaker 5: Oh a lot of things on that street.
- 27:20Speaker 2: My god, we that shirt? No?
- 27:25Speaker 3: Okay, well yeah no, I don't think a lot of people.
- 27:29Speaker 3: But again, you tried about fashion. I love. All you
- 27:33Speaker 3: gotta do is just try. You put it on, you
- 27:35Speaker 3: go on.
- 27:35Speaker 2: The world said that they don't get the West suits.
- 27:39Speaker 5: Now, because he was one of the guys, I looked
- 27:41Speaker 5: forward to see.
- 27:42Speaker 2: What he had.
- 27:43Speaker 3: Thank you know, just like the baggy oversize baggy over.
- 27:56Speaker 1: Cut him down. They cut down.
- 28:00Speaker 3: It took it took him a moment to get the
- 28:02Speaker 3: tailored pant.
- 28:03Speaker 4: Look.
- 28:03Speaker 3: He was riding that bagging pant way.
- 28:07Speaker 2: That's what the style was.
- 28:10Speaker 3: Yeah, but you were the last person to hop off
- 28:13Speaker 3: that way. All right. Okay, So you guys are gonna
- 28:17Speaker 3: ask us some basketball terminology, and as he was, we
- 28:23Speaker 3: gotta define the terms. I'm gonna see what we know.
- 28:27Speaker 1: I think we're going to come first. One is this
- 28:31Speaker 1: is ease. What's the pick and roll?
- 28:33Speaker 3: Okay? So you have okay, the players are on offense. Okay,
- 28:40Speaker 3: and you have the point guard who okay, yeah, you
- 28:45Speaker 3: have the point guard who needs someone to set a
- 28:48Speaker 3: screen for him, and then the person who sets the
- 28:52Speaker 3: screen rolls to the basket for the or the shot.
- 29:00Speaker 5: Okay, that's an easy one.
- 29:07Speaker 2: What does boxing out mean?
- 29:12Speaker 4: You got outside of the square, outside of the outside
- 29:16Speaker 4: of the outside of the what is it called outside
- 29:20Speaker 4: of the paint? H oh wait, when do you shoot? Okay,
- 29:26Speaker 4: shoot inside the square?
- 29:28Speaker 3: No, she said, if you hit inside this box?
- 29:31Speaker 4: Boxing out?
- 29:32Speaker 2: Boxing out? What does boxing out mean? Say? Boxing out?
- 29:38Speaker 2: What does what do you think it means? Exactly?
- 29:43Speaker 3: Okay, So explain what boxing out is.
- 29:45Speaker 1: And he was that type of player, so he had box.
- 29:49Speaker 5: Is when the offensive team takes a shot and you
- 29:54Speaker 5: had to block out your offensive play from getting the rebound,
- 29:58Speaker 5: you turn around, put your to him, and you box
- 30:01Speaker 5: him out, keep them away from the ball, and then
- 30:04Speaker 5: you go get the rebounds.
- 30:05Speaker 4: That's how you stocked all those rebounds.
- 30:07Speaker 3: Period. That's exactly what happened.
- 30:08Speaker 1: And it didn't have to be his man. Yeah, anybody
- 30:12Speaker 1: in the area that you would hope everybody boxes out
- 30:16Speaker 1: and the ball just falls, right.
- 30:19Speaker 3: They don't.
- 30:22Speaker 1: They don't know, all right, Mariah, what's a fast break?
- 30:27Speaker 3: All right? So that happens when somebody steals the ball,
- 30:31Speaker 3: or I guess they don't have to steal the ball,
- 30:33Speaker 3: when someone just runs up and lays it in, right, Yeah,
- 30:39Speaker 3: that's okay. So in my mind, I think how I'm
- 30:43Speaker 3: explaining it is not how I'm envisioning it in my brain.
- 30:47Speaker 3: But all I know is that someone's running up and shooting,
- 30:51Speaker 3: and I guess the fast break is the speed in
- 30:54Speaker 3: which they run with the ball.
- 30:55Speaker 1: It could be a one man like Russell Westbrook was
- 30:59Speaker 1: a wrecking crew. You just runs there and getting.
- 31:03Speaker 5: To the basket before the defense can get there and
- 31:06Speaker 5: set up.
- 31:08Speaker 1: Okay, And it could be two on one fast break,
- 31:11Speaker 1: three on two.
- 31:13Speaker 3: I thought it was just when someone break with you know, Okay, Yeah.
- 31:19Speaker 2: There's one name three players from the nineties.
- 31:24Speaker 4: Mm hmm, my god, I know three players, but I
- 31:29Speaker 4: don't want to ridd a lot.
- 31:30Speaker 2: At least say me first.
- 31:32Speaker 4: But that's too obvious. I haven't seen you last, so
- 31:35Speaker 4: old and polonies, Alan Everson.
- 31:37Speaker 2: And yeah, you should have saved me last.
- 31:43Speaker 4: Charles Barkley. There you go.
- 31:46Speaker 3: Okay, then that's pretty good.
- 31:50Speaker 1: All right? What's a travel?
- 31:52Speaker 3: These are all easy? I know what a travel is
- 31:54Speaker 3: is when someone has the ball and they pick up
- 31:56Speaker 3: their feet a few times before they drip. But you know,
- 32:00Speaker 3: if you ask pivoting.
- 32:06Speaker 1: But if you asked me that in this day and time,
- 32:08Speaker 1: I don't know what the hell.
- 32:12Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean, I'm with you on that.
- 32:15Speaker 1: Right, I don't even know what the travel is. This
- 32:17Speaker 1: one's they let you get away with so much.
- 32:20Speaker 2: Right, Okay, here's one.
- 32:22Speaker 5: How many seconds does the player have to get the
- 32:24Speaker 5: ball across half court once you inbound the ball? How
- 32:28Speaker 5: long do you have to get it to the other
- 32:30Speaker 5: side of half court?
- 32:31Speaker 4: Three seconds? Too fast or too slow? From where.
- 32:38Speaker 5: When you bounce the ball. Okay, I take the ball
- 32:41Speaker 5: out of bounds, I give it to my point guard.
- 32:43Speaker 5: How long does he have to get it across that
- 32:45Speaker 5: line at the mid court line.
- 32:49Speaker 4: Is it a trick question? Ten seconds?
- 32:52Speaker 2: Close?
- 32:53Speaker 4: Seven?
- 32:54Speaker 2: Close, sir?
- 32:58Speaker 4: Nine, I mean six.
- 33:03Speaker 3: I didn't I just learned that one yesterday.
- 33:05Speaker 4: I thought it was five. So okay, I thought again,
- 33:09Speaker 4: and then I can give the answer. I don't know
- 33:10Speaker 4: what's done.
- 33:12Speaker 3: I didn't know what yesterday.
- 33:15Speaker 4: Okay, we're editing it.
- 33:18Speaker 3: You gotta girl. Okay, let's do one more hard question
- 33:20Speaker 3: each well, go to the hard hard section.
- 33:23Speaker 1: What's the switching defense?
- 33:26Speaker 2: I know this, all right, give your daughter all the easy.
- 33:31Speaker 3: Okay, Okay, do another one. Okay, ask me what's.
- 33:35Speaker 1: Your what's the weak side rotation?
- 33:39Speaker 3: Okay, I don't know this one. A week side rotation
- 33:44Speaker 3: happens when a defender is on That's when the defender
- 33:53Speaker 3: is on a weaker defender, on someone like Steph Curry.
- 34:00Speaker 1: Now you thinking even more.
- 34:02Speaker 3: Now you know when rotates When Steph's on offense, someone
- 34:10Speaker 3: who isn't I skilled defensively is guarding him. Right, No,
- 34:17Speaker 3: let me let me tell you the week side rotation.
- 34:21Speaker 1: Balls on the strong side of the floor, balls on
- 34:24Speaker 1: this side of the floor.
- 34:25Speaker 3: All your good players are no.
- 34:26Speaker 1: Say Steph has the ball over there and he's being
- 34:30Speaker 1: guarded and he beats this guy to the bucket. Weak
- 34:37Speaker 1: side rotation has got to come over that's the other
- 34:41Speaker 1: side of the floor, to the strong side and stop
- 34:45Speaker 1: that person for possibly laying the ball up.
- 34:49Speaker 5: And also strong side is always wherever the ball. Wherever
- 34:52Speaker 5: the ball is, that's the strong It's always considered away
- 34:56Speaker 5: from the ball.
- 34:57Speaker 1: His weak side. So Steph's over here with the all
- 35:00Speaker 1: on the strong side and he's being guarded and he
- 35:03Speaker 1: breaks his man off off the bounce and gets to
- 35:06Speaker 1: the rim. Weak sides got to come over to stop
- 35:11Speaker 1: the guy from scoring from scoring, and then there's and
- 35:15Speaker 1: then there's also black side rotation behind it, So everybody's
- 35:19Speaker 1: kind of got to be on the string.
- 35:21Speaker 3: I learned something.
- 35:22Speaker 2: Guys, explain what the switch is on defense?
- 35:29Speaker 4: Well, what a switch is when you're playing defense and
- 35:37Speaker 4: you one of the defenders has the ball.
- 35:41Speaker 2: Offensive player has the ball.
- 35:43Speaker 4: That's what offensive player has the ball, and there.
- 35:46Speaker 1: She's right, because you're getting there, go ahead, I'm following
- 35:53Speaker 1: you ahead.
- 35:55Speaker 4: What are you saying the offense? Offense?
- 35:59Speaker 2: So what's a switch defense?
- 36:02Speaker 4: When offense loses the ball and the other team takes it,
- 36:07Speaker 4: switch defense.
- 36:16Speaker 5: And anytime the two defenders switch men. Yeah, that's all
- 36:22Speaker 5: it is, whether through a pick or through happenstance, they
- 36:26Speaker 5: just switched. No, they just switched players. I'm guarding you
- 36:31Speaker 5: right now, and then I switched. Now I'm guarding the
- 36:37Speaker 5: riah and what he's guarding you.
- 36:38Speaker 2: That's all it. We just switched players.
- 36:41Speaker 3: That was very simple.
- 36:44Speaker 2: What's the blitz?
- 36:46Speaker 3: Okay? I feel like blitz is an NFL terminology.
- 36:51Speaker 1: Well absolutely so.
- 36:56Speaker 3: Blitz I think means to split the defense.
- 37:01Speaker 1: No, in the NBA, a blitz is a trap where
- 37:06Speaker 1: you have the ball and old and older than I trap.
- 37:12Speaker 3: So why wouldn't they just call it trap?
- 37:14Speaker 1: They do. You can call it trap in their color codes.
- 37:18Speaker 1: Sometimes I use red was our trap. You know color
- 37:24Speaker 1: you know you can use the color cold red. Say blitz.
- 37:28Speaker 2: Most people say red.
- 37:29Speaker 3: Red, So that means so if if y'all are saying red,
- 37:31Speaker 3: that means y'all are.
- 37:32Speaker 1: Both the time, we're gonna trap you.
- 37:34Speaker 3: The guy who has the ball.
- 37:36Speaker 5: So like in football, the blitz, he's just raw, he's coming.
- 37:40Speaker 2: So it's similar to the.
- 37:41Speaker 3: Quarterback, Oh blitzing, so he's defending you.
- 37:47Speaker 2: I'm blitzing. I'm coming to you now.
- 37:48Speaker 3: Ah yeah, Okay, that's why the time.
- 37:51Speaker 2: Can you re ask me that question, which one the switch?
- 37:56Speaker 2: What's the switch defense?
- 37:57Speaker 4: Switch defense? When the defenders they just swap right?
- 38:02Speaker 3: Yes, very good, very good.
- 38:05Speaker 2: Finally got one.
- 38:08Speaker 3: Okay, So now you guys are on the hot seat.
- 38:11Speaker 3: We're going to start with a game called start bench cut. Okay,
- 38:17Speaker 3: I'm gonna give you guys three players, and each of
- 38:20Speaker 3: you have to tell me who you're going to start,
- 38:23Speaker 3: who you're gonna bench, and who you're gonna cut. Okay,
- 38:27Speaker 3: all right, So here are the three players, Tim Duncan,
- 38:32Speaker 3: Kevin Garnett, Dirk Now I can't pronounce it Novitski. I'm sorry, Dirk.
- 38:44Speaker 3: Those are your three.
- 38:46Speaker 2: Wow?
- 38:48Speaker 4: Who wants.
- 38:50Speaker 1: I'm starting Tim Duncan, me too? Okay, wow, wow, that's
- 39:00Speaker 1: these next two because Kevin.
- 39:02Speaker 3: You know, God and everybody in their prime year probably.
- 39:07Speaker 1: I'm probably gonna bring Kevin off the bench.
- 39:12Speaker 2: And what you're cutting.
- 39:15Speaker 1: For me to even fix my mouth to say I'm
- 39:17Speaker 1: cutting dirt, I must be crazy as hell, but I
- 39:22Speaker 1: have to cut dirt, dang.
- 39:26Speaker 5: Really, Okay, I'm benching dirt, definitely starting Tim Duncan, and
- 39:30Speaker 5: I played against all three.
- 39:32Speaker 1: You know that's a that's a tough thing because all
- 39:35Speaker 1: three of those are Hall of Fame.
- 39:37Speaker 2: It's a game, and I would.
- 39:39Speaker 1: Take all three of my team. They all be a
- 39:42Speaker 1: part of my team.
- 39:43Speaker 3: So you hear that they're not cutting anybody in real
- 39:47Speaker 3: the game, right, Okay, next question, who would you want
- 39:54Speaker 3: to take the last shot on your team? Game seven
- 39:57Speaker 3: of the NBA Finals got three players. You can only
- 40:01Speaker 3: choose one. Steph Curry, Ray Allen, Kevin Durant, all in
- 40:07Speaker 3: their prime years. Wow, Steph Curry, Ray Allen, Kevin Durant
- 40:15Speaker 3: got one shot left to take to win Game seven
- 40:19Speaker 3: of the NBA Finals. Who is the ball going to?
- 40:24Speaker 1: Woa?
- 40:29Speaker 2: Mind?
- 40:30Speaker 5: Go ahead, Old, I'm giving it to Kevin Durant in
- 40:34Speaker 5: that moment because he's done it more times than that.
- 40:37Speaker 5: Steph as great asure as he is, and I like
- 40:39Speaker 5: the chances, but he tends to miss those. Okay, that's
- 40:42Speaker 5: one of those moments. He's gonna jack it up. And
- 40:44Speaker 5: Ray Allen he's made one.
- 40:48Speaker 2: Okay, That's how I look at it. One.
- 40:50Speaker 5: It was a big one. Kevin Durant has he did
- 40:54Speaker 5: that multiple times. He tends to do it. You know,
- 40:56Speaker 5: he did it so many times, So I'm gonna go
- 41:00Speaker 5: with Kevin Durant.
- 41:01Speaker 2: Okay, in that moment, I.
- 41:02Speaker 1: Say Kevin Durant as well, because most of the times
- 41:05Speaker 1: the shot is going to come in a mid rain shot.
- 41:08Speaker 3: Oh that's true, and Kevin is.
- 41:10Speaker 1: A master king of making mid rain shots. So I
- 41:14Speaker 1: would have to say.
- 41:15Speaker 3: Kat, okay, k do you hear it here? All right?
- 41:21Speaker 3: Last question for this segment, who would you want to
- 41:24Speaker 3: take the last free throw to win Game seven of
- 41:27Speaker 3: the NBA Finals. Was going to give you three options,
- 41:31Speaker 3: three different options, Ben Wallace. There, how did I know.
- 41:38Speaker 2: One of them?
- 41:40Speaker 3: Andre Jordan or Andre Drummond?
- 41:43Speaker 1: Oh?
- 41:44Speaker 2: Wow, that's good.
- 41:47Speaker 1: Well, you know what, just.
- 41:48Speaker 3: This is what he needs? One free throw from.
- 41:51Speaker 1: A centlemental standpoint. I'm going with body, Ben Wallace, ask
- 41:56Speaker 1: my guy.
- 41:57Speaker 3: Yes, I already knew you're gonna do you know?
- 42:01Speaker 1: Yeah? One the NBA title with Yeah, the moment.
- 42:04Speaker 5: I gotta go with DeAndre. He has a better chance
- 42:06Speaker 5: of making it. His shot actually look good.
- 42:08Speaker 3: Okay, I think out of the three of them, I
- 42:12Speaker 3: believe in Evan, you may have to fact check me,
- 42:15Speaker 3: but I think DeAndre has the best.
- 42:16Speaker 2: No, No, I've been between the three of these better percent.
- 42:22Speaker 1: Fact I think it's no drumming.
- 42:26Speaker 3: I think Andre has the lowest. I think it's Andre
- 42:29Speaker 3: Ben DeAndre is that right?
- 42:30Speaker 7: Evan career career over thousand, Oh my god, by one lord.
- 42:44Speaker 3: Ben has the worst. But but I said you would
- 42:47Speaker 3: choose been.
- 42:48Speaker 1: No, I'm taking Ben because of sentimental reason.
- 42:51Speaker 2: But Drummond had it.
- 42:55Speaker 3: Okay, that was good.
- 42:58Speaker 2: Get stuff wrong every nowe we do?
- 43:00Speaker 1: We both.
- 43:01Speaker 2: I'm taking Ben right now.
- 43:04Speaker 1: I love Ben Wallace.
- 43:05Speaker 3: Who has the best form out of the three of them,
- 43:07Speaker 3: because I feel like that's a big guy. It's hard does.
- 43:12Speaker 1: Does Drummond does?
- 43:14Speaker 3: Does he?
- 43:15Speaker 1: I think so?
- 43:15Speaker 3: I think Ben was because he was so jacked. Yeah,
- 43:18Speaker 3: but he just was hard for him to get in
- 43:20Speaker 3: that range of mos. No. But I'm just saying like
- 43:23Speaker 3: he has arms was so big it was hard.
- 43:26Speaker 1: No.
- 43:28Speaker 3: Jaan makes clutch free throws?
- 43:30Speaker 1: He does?
- 43:31Speaker 3: Yeah, he does. I feel like he has. I've seen
- 43:34Speaker 3: him make some clutch he's made.
- 43:36Speaker 1: Yeah, his hands is just so big.
- 43:38Speaker 3: Yeah, it's could you make free throws?
- 43:40Speaker 1: Who can? Who made free throws?
- 43:44Speaker 3: Not talking about.
- 43:47Speaker 1: If you don't know, you better ask somebody.
- 43:52Speaker 2: Yes, yeah, he was a shooting I know he was
- 43:55Speaker 2: eighty six.
- 43:57Speaker 1: I ain't gonna go there.
- 43:58Speaker 3: About Okay, that question, what were you Korean?
- 44:02Speaker 1: Eighty something?
- 44:04Speaker 3: Almost not bad? And you were what seventies? Sixties?
- 44:07Speaker 2: Sixties?
- 44:08Speaker 3: That's not bad for a big guy. Okay. For this segment,
- 44:12Speaker 3: we're going to show you, guys a couple of pictures
- 44:14Speaker 3: that we need you to explain. Okay, explain to us
- 44:18Speaker 3: what was happening in real time, because all we see
- 44:20Speaker 3: is a picture. So this is a picture that we
- 44:23Speaker 3: have of Dad staring at j R. Smith looking like
- 44:27Speaker 3: he's very disappointed in something. So what did JR do
- 44:32Speaker 3: in that time justified this look?
- 44:35Speaker 1: Well, the look is a problem, and I'm staring at
- 44:39Speaker 1: the process. And that problem is the guy with an
- 44:45Speaker 1: orange headband on that obviously did something ridiculous on the
- 44:52Speaker 1: floor and I called the time out and I'll let
- 44:57Speaker 1: him have it. So that's that's a problem.
- 45:01Speaker 3: So what did you say to him in the time out?
- 45:03Speaker 3: Could you say it I.
- 45:10Speaker 1: Had a nice time too, No, I was. I was
- 45:14Speaker 1: kind of getting at him about something he did. You know,
- 45:16Speaker 1: I can't tell you what. I loved it? He loved
- 45:21Speaker 1: he hold up the reason I'm gonna I'm gonna give
- 45:25Speaker 1: you a story with jam every time Jerrard would come
- 45:29Speaker 1: to work, get on the bus, he'd have his pants
- 45:34Speaker 1: hanging off his butt. And I had a problem with that.
- 45:37Speaker 1: Now it could be fashion when you call whatever you
- 45:40Speaker 1: want to call it, I had a problem with it.
- 45:42Speaker 1: So every time I saw it, I find it until
- 45:47Speaker 1: I broke him. Good for you and being a pro,
- 45:52Speaker 1: a professional. And when I see that young man today,
- 45:56Speaker 1: I give him my hug because he's straight up figured
- 46:01Speaker 1: it out. And you know you and maybe I was wrong.
- 46:05Speaker 1: I'm old school. I just I just didn't think guys
- 46:09Speaker 1: should walk around with it pants hanging.
- 46:11Speaker 2: Off prison trend.
- 46:13Speaker 3: So I coached I love and this and this picture really,
- 46:21Speaker 3: oh yeah, it's how their relationship was. You guys would
- 46:25Speaker 3: bicker like father and son. But he loves you. You
- 46:29Speaker 3: love him, and so that's why seeing these photos, it's
- 46:32Speaker 3: hilarious because I know in real life you have so
- 46:35Speaker 3: much love for j R. So he loves him. All right,
- 46:38Speaker 3: So we're gonna do one more for dad, or we're
- 46:40Speaker 3: gonna switch to Olden next, all right, So we're gonna alternate,
- 46:43Speaker 3: So old on your next? What happened.
- 46:56Speaker 2: Gives you a bad call? MM?
- 47:00Speaker 5: I got called for a foul bad call. I think
- 47:03Speaker 5: that's what it was. But that's the only thing I
- 47:06Speaker 5: can think of broken. No, I was getting paid to
- 47:10Speaker 5: put that breathe rights, so it kept na.
- 47:16Speaker 1: Is that the Utah jersey.
- 47:17Speaker 2: That was the new ones that half and halves?
- 47:22Speaker 5: Oh, I think, yeah, it helped to it helped, No,
- 47:29Speaker 5: it helped y'all put that up there, becau.
- 47:31Speaker 2: Y'all thought I had a broken nose.
- 47:33Speaker 3: I thought, I thought you. I thought someone would have
- 47:35Speaker 3: put anything I had.
- 47:35Speaker 2: A broken nose. We didn't do that.
- 47:38Speaker 3: That's true, all right.
- 47:40Speaker 5: So that was the breathing a blocking the one m
- 47:45Speaker 5: J he thought he got me see the ball flying
- 47:48Speaker 5: off the rim, but the dumb ass ref called a foul.
- 47:53Speaker 5: I put nothing but hand on that ball. But you know,
- 47:55Speaker 5: they got to look out for Michael.
- 47:57Speaker 3: Jordan's now old, and I think I'm kind of seeing
- 47:59Speaker 3: a little text where I already saying so.
- 48:05Speaker 5: It was after after there's always going to be incidental
- 48:08Speaker 5: contact already.
- 48:10Speaker 2: Okay, that was a home game and Sacramento.
- 48:13Speaker 1: Definitely was up there.
- 48:14Speaker 4: He was up there.
- 48:16Speaker 3: Did she talks back to m J after that?
- 48:19Speaker 2: We had known each other since college, so we always talked.
- 48:22Speaker 3: Okay, so in that moment, you blocked the shot. So
- 48:24Speaker 3: then what you say to him?
- 48:25Speaker 5: Oh, I was like, yo, you know that's not a
- 48:27Speaker 5: file when he was shooting the free throws, like man,
- 48:30Speaker 5: they always looking.
- 48:31Speaker 2: Out for you. M.
- 48:33Speaker 3: I mean he's gonna call m J.
- 48:36Speaker 1: M J.
- 48:36Speaker 3: We sorry, we didn't mean that over here. Okay, go ahead.
- 48:41Speaker 3: Oh no, no, no, no, no, I think we should zoom in
- 48:44Speaker 3: because the focal point is not the suit, it's the
- 48:46Speaker 3: missing eyebrows. Was a problem.
- 48:48Speaker 2: WHOA, that was a problem.
- 48:51Speaker 1: So that was a problem.
- 48:53Speaker 3: Was to the people, why you do not.
- 48:58Speaker 1: Have to go to ayebrow?
- 49:01Speaker 3: He has no eyebrows.
- 49:02Speaker 8: Holy make sure that I lost the bed.
- 49:11Speaker 1: So it's a big time story behind that whole scene
- 49:15Speaker 1: right there. The ball Head, for instance. Let's go to
- 49:18Speaker 1: the ball Head first. So I have this young team
- 49:22Speaker 1: in Atlanta and we're four years into that team. And
- 49:27Speaker 1: that team consisted of Jove Johnson and Jamal Crawford and
- 49:32Speaker 1: Josh Smith and Childress and Mark our young team. And
- 49:39Speaker 1: they said, well, coach, and we make the playoffs, you
- 49:43Speaker 1: either got to get an ear ring, oh tattoo, cut
- 49:47Speaker 1: all your hair off. So I cut all my hair.
- 49:52Speaker 4: Off, Why not the earring?
- 49:55Speaker 6: I'm not an ear ring guy that they gave me
- 49:59Speaker 6: my options tattoo.
- 50:01Speaker 1: I didn't. I'm not a tattoo guy. So I cut
- 50:04Speaker 1: all my hair off.
- 50:07Speaker 2: At heart.
- 50:13Speaker 1: So then we get to the eyebrows. I can't really
- 50:16Speaker 1: tell you the story. All I can tell you is
- 50:19Speaker 1: I lost the bet and I had to cut my
- 50:22Speaker 1: eyebrows off. And if you go to another picture out
- 50:26Speaker 1: of Dallas, I put black tape and I put it
- 50:29Speaker 1: right here.
- 50:32Speaker 2: To try to make up.
- 50:34Speaker 5: That's why the one thing I love about two Days Era.
- 50:37Speaker 5: You can find all that stuff out now. But I'm
- 50:39Speaker 5: not gonna tever.
- 50:42Speaker 1: I'm not gonna tell you why I had to cut
- 50:44Speaker 1: them off. But I did lose a bet.
- 50:46Speaker 3: It was embarrassing. That was embarrassed I was.
- 50:50Speaker 1: But they came back. No, I don't have that suit
- 50:55Speaker 1: no more. The tie the belt either.
- 51:04Speaker 3: Literally that was it was a stalin here defense. It
- 51:07Speaker 3: was a stall very good guy. See that was painless.
- 51:10Speaker 3: It was okay, So we can do our impersonating greatness
- 51:15Speaker 3: of them again. Do you have one that you want
- 51:17Speaker 3: to do for your dad? And you're best Olden we
- 51:24Speaker 3: kind of did it earlier, said come on man, yeah.
- 51:28Speaker 4: But I'm trying to think like it's it's not more,
- 51:32Speaker 4: it's he doesn't have like impressions. He just everything is
- 51:36Speaker 4: it just comes out of him, so like it'll become
- 51:38Speaker 4: like an inside joke for us. And like all of
- 51:42Speaker 4: my siblings, right, if you were to ask all of
- 51:45Speaker 4: our siblings, we would all have our own different one.
- 51:48Speaker 2: But mm hmm it begins two boys, four girls.
- 52:00Speaker 4: My stomach is growling so much. I don't know what
- 52:03Speaker 4: an impression of you would be. Oh, I know one.
- 52:10Speaker 3: Oh is that you spinning the ball on your finger,
- 52:14Speaker 3: spending a singer or him doing that you throw it
- 52:18Speaker 3: from here, like, I don't know.
- 52:21Speaker 4: He would just like do a little tricks and things.
- 52:22Speaker 4: So that's my impression, like any weird thing that he
- 52:25Speaker 4: did to make his kids laugh.
- 52:27Speaker 3: Very good. You didn't get good job, Dad's is pretty easy. Again,
- 52:31Speaker 3: I already did his. She please, really, I'm a shooter.
- 52:36Speaker 3: De looks I'm a shooter, though.
- 52:43Speaker 5: But when they're with me, when they were young, it
- 52:46Speaker 5: was like breakfast, lunch, dinner, snacks. Like I didn't get
- 52:50Speaker 5: a break yeah, breakfast, I had to cook lunch and
- 52:55Speaker 5: I had to cook.
- 52:55Speaker 3: So you should have been a chef once you retired.
- 53:00Speaker 2: Really cool, how do you know I'm not.
- 53:02Speaker 4: Yeah, and it's like you didn't learn from anywhere.
- 53:04Speaker 3: You know.
- 53:06Speaker 2: Oh, simple told me control your heat, control your heat? Wow, okay,
- 53:11Speaker 2: control your fire, your spices.
- 53:14Speaker 4: Well, you learn to cook from your mom and you're
- 53:16Speaker 4: making probably Haitian food and meals.
- 53:21Speaker 5: Italy learned the Italian dishes. And when I came back
- 53:26Speaker 5: to Seattle, I took some classes.
- 53:28Speaker 3: Very good.
- 53:29Speaker 2: Yeah, so I actually cooked breakfast.
- 53:31Speaker 3: Congratulations, he can scramble up some good eggs.
- 53:35Speaker 1: I can breakfast. It's a lot harder than you think
- 53:42Speaker 1: they cooked.
- 53:43Speaker 4: Yeah, exactly. Oh my gosh, nine, sister, I can.
- 53:50Speaker 3: Wait a minute.
- 53:50Speaker 4: I know how to Yeah, I can cook.
- 53:53Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 53:53Speaker 4: I mean I cook for all of the families that
- 53:54Speaker 4: I worked for, but for myself not too much. But
- 53:59Speaker 4: you know how if you needed.
- 54:00Speaker 3: To survive off of beans and rice, you would know
- 54:03Speaker 3: what to do.
- 54:04Speaker 4: I wouldn't eat thought, I would just wrap off anything else.
- 54:09Speaker 1: Was.
- 54:13Speaker 5: I was veaving before it was popular to be vegan.
- 54:16Speaker 5: Growing up poor and Haiti, we didn't have meat and
- 54:19Speaker 5: all that.
- 54:20Speaker 2: It was rice and beans. Beans, that's enough to fill
- 54:24Speaker 2: you up.
- 54:26Speaker 1: He look, my favorite dish in our house or food
- 54:29Speaker 1: growing up because we didn't have much. It was a
- 54:32Speaker 1: pot of white beans, all right, fried potatoes and corn bread.
- 54:39Speaker 1: And if we if we got meat, it was poor chops.
- 54:43Speaker 1: That was like hitting the whole run. No, really it
- 54:45Speaker 1: was and hold out and a big picture of kool aid.
- 54:51Speaker 1: You got that you could you could be grape orange
- 54:58Speaker 1: red and don't kool aid with all that sugar.
- 55:01Speaker 3: You have to tell them the story when so growing
- 55:03Speaker 3: up you liked your cheeseburger and a picture of orange juice. Oh,
- 55:06Speaker 3: I never And when you got drafted and you could
- 55:09Speaker 3: finally afford a steak, you still want your cheeseburger.
- 55:13Speaker 1: That's all I in college, I would never eat steaks.
- 55:18Speaker 1: It was either cheeseburger and fries and a pitcher of
- 55:22Speaker 1: orange juice. That that was my whole all through college.
- 55:26Speaker 1: And then when I became a pro, I still I
- 55:29Speaker 1: didn't eat fish either. It was always.
- 55:32Speaker 4: Cheeseburger, cheeseburgers for the protein content or.
- 55:38Speaker 1: I didn't have steak growing up, and I didn't have
- 55:41Speaker 1: fish growing up. So you know, if I got familiar,
- 55:45Speaker 1: if I got meat, it was poor chops. Now Thanksgiving,
- 55:49Speaker 1: you know it was different because family members would bring
- 55:52Speaker 1: different food, ham and turkeys, things of that nature.
- 55:55Speaker 2: So I had to wait for my dad to hit
- 55:57Speaker 2: the numbers boy for us to get meat.
- 55:59Speaker 1: Yeah, I understand.
- 56:00Speaker 3: Hey, wow, okay, I think I did my impression. Yours
- 56:06Speaker 3: is easy. I'm a shooter deluxe. I'm a shooter. Look
- 56:13Speaker 3: who was a Steve Novak? Oh you're what? What would
- 56:17Speaker 3: you say? You're shooter?
- 56:19Speaker 2: He was?
- 56:19Speaker 1: He was a shooter Deluxe. Novak could shoot the ball.
- 56:24Speaker 3: That's what he would say. Their shooters and then their shooter.
- 56:27Speaker 3: I you know, I'm a shooter.
- 56:29Speaker 1: I was a part of I'm a part.
- 56:30Speaker 3: Of the shooting Deluxe club. Not amore if you play defense,
- 56:35Speaker 3: didn't do that very well done? But all right, yes,
- 56:41Speaker 3: he was a human call. I never thought of it
- 56:45Speaker 3: that way. Okay, So before we get into you guys
- 56:53Speaker 3: telling us a basketball story that the world might not know,
- 56:56Speaker 3: we're going to do a quick rapid fire and you
- 56:59Speaker 3: can also answer as well, College basketball or NBA. You
- 57:04Speaker 3: can choose one, Yeah, choose one for what? Just whichever
- 57:09Speaker 3: one you want to watch?
- 57:10Speaker 5: College watch college basketball, NBA March Madness, College NBA playoffs.
- 57:16Speaker 3: Okay, would you rather partake in practice or a game day? Okay?
- 57:23Speaker 3: Defense or offense? Y'all?
- 57:25Speaker 1: Need to defense.
- 57:27Speaker 3: Okay, I love how y'all said that at the same time. Okay,
- 57:33Speaker 3: old school new school.
- 57:36Speaker 5: Old school, old school. They have the luxury. The new
- 57:41Speaker 5: school has a luxury of YouTube and everything. Information we didn't.
- 57:45Speaker 5: You got to remember from the beginning, everything was new. Yeah,
- 57:48Speaker 5: you know, well Chamberlain didn't have somebody looking and say, oh,
- 57:51Speaker 5: let me work on that and so on, and then
- 57:53Speaker 5: all of a sudden information was out there for all
- 57:56Speaker 5: these players.
- 57:57Speaker 2: And so now that's why they.
- 58:00Speaker 1: Not against new school but old school old school.
- 58:03Speaker 2: Still that could be a man to play that game.
- 58:08Speaker 3: Yeah, tough love or soft love, tough love in the
- 58:14Speaker 3: post or three point shot in the post.
- 58:19Speaker 1: You know, I think the game is still you know,
- 58:20Speaker 1: they don't. They don't utilize the post anymore, you know,
- 58:24Speaker 1: because of the analytics. But I still say post you.
- 58:28Speaker 2: Can still analytics.
- 58:33Speaker 3: Are you going to trash talk or are you or
- 58:36Speaker 3: are you going to let it go?
- 58:39Speaker 2: I let it go.
- 58:41Speaker 5: Because that was the biggest trash talk you could do,
- 58:44Speaker 5: is when somebody was talking.
- 58:46Speaker 2: And walk away and walk away.
- 58:48Speaker 3: Yeah, that would cut me and be like, wait, where
- 58:49Speaker 3: are you going? I'm not done talking trash? Yeah I
- 58:53Speaker 3: know you did didn't really, Okay. Now, last one. So
- 58:57Speaker 3: if a fight breaks out, team makes getting into a
- 59:01Speaker 3: little tussle, are we joining the fight or are they
- 59:05Speaker 3: on their own?
- 59:07Speaker 5: Well, you got to do is google me. I'm always
- 59:09Speaker 5: in the mix.
- 59:11Speaker 2: I'm always in the.
- 59:12Speaker 3: You're gonna stand up for your teammates, No, you have
- 59:14Speaker 3: to stand up.
- 59:15Speaker 5: No, I just it was my chance to get a
- 59:17Speaker 5: quick hitting them.
- 59:21Speaker 3: I was doing it for me.
- 59:22Speaker 1: You have to.
- 59:24Speaker 3: You would get in the middle, Okay. I've seen you
- 59:27Speaker 3: in the middle of a fight before, not playing, but coaching.
- 59:31Speaker 3: When you were coaching the Hawks. You got into the middle.
- 59:32Speaker 3: Thought that was funny. Okay. So I want to ask
- 59:37Speaker 3: both of you to tell us a basketball story that
- 59:41Speaker 3: the world might not know, or one moment that defined
- 59:46Speaker 3: your basketball career, a story that people might not know,
- 59:51Speaker 3: or I.
- 59:52Speaker 1: Think the one story that defines my career. It happened
- 59:59Speaker 1: in college when I was told my senior year in college,
- 1:00:05Speaker 1: the most pivotal time of your career in terms of
- 1:00:09Speaker 1: making the next jump, that I would probably never play
- 1:00:13Speaker 1: basketball again because I had a herniated disc erupt your
- 1:00:18Speaker 1: disc in my back. And that was kind of the
- 1:00:23Speaker 1: pivotal moment of my career. Because you know when a
- 1:00:28Speaker 1: doctor tells you something like that, and you telling the doctor, well,
- 1:00:33Speaker 1: you better not say anything, or I'm a frd lawyer
- 1:00:36Speaker 1: and sue you, because I was going to try to
- 1:00:38Speaker 1: hide it for some godly reason, knowing you couldn't hide
- 1:00:42Speaker 1: it because if you go pro they're going to find toothy.
- 1:00:46Speaker 1: From a physical standpoint, but I was able to bounce back.
- 1:00:56Speaker 1: May it be a miracle God looking down on me.
- 1:01:03Speaker 1: When you told something like that, all kinds of things
- 1:01:06Speaker 1: go through your mind. I had the surgery. The surgery
- 1:01:10Speaker 1: was successful. I had a good woman on my shoulder
- 1:01:13Speaker 1: who's my wife today, Terry, who nursed and walked me
- 1:01:18Speaker 1: through the process, and we basically trained together because I
- 1:01:22Speaker 1: had to learn how to walk all over again.
- 1:01:25Speaker 2: Wow.
- 1:01:26Speaker 1: And so that was like the turning point of my
- 1:01:31Speaker 1: career because I could have easily gone the other way.
- 1:01:34Speaker 1: The surgery could have easily been a bus And it
- 1:01:39Speaker 1: made my doctor a lot of money. I know that,
- 1:01:43Speaker 1: and he became a well known doctor from a backstandpoint
- 1:01:47Speaker 1: based on me coming back after eight weeks of training.
- 1:01:53Speaker 1: It was unheard of to get back on the basketball
- 1:01:56Speaker 1: floor and was able to fulfill my.
- 1:01:59Speaker 8: Career, and he got drafted that year, right, Well, mine
- 1:02:07Speaker 8: was from childhood again, born in Haiti.
- 1:02:10Speaker 5: I was born with a disability that a lot of
- 1:02:12Speaker 5: people don't know. So my feet would turn inwards, so
- 1:02:15Speaker 5: they had to reset my feet, and I had a
- 1:02:17Speaker 5: cast on for almost two years, so I was supposed
- 1:02:21Speaker 5: to walk and so let alone play basketball and then
- 1:02:25Speaker 5: came to the US. As I got older got stronger,
- 1:02:28Speaker 5: I didn't pick up a basketball until I was sixteen
- 1:02:30Speaker 5: years old, and then five years later I was a professional,
- 1:02:34Speaker 5: which is unheard of. And the craziest thing about this
- 1:02:37Speaker 5: story is that my third year in basketball, so my
- 1:02:39Speaker 5: junior year, senior year, okay, I'm All American. My freshman
- 1:02:44Speaker 5: year at the University of Virginia, I led my team
- 1:02:46Speaker 5: to the final four. So yeah, overachiever, beyond and so yeah.
- 1:02:53Speaker 5: And then to stand up there shaking David Stearns's hand
- 1:02:56Speaker 5: as the eighth pick in the draft and remember where
- 1:02:59Speaker 5: I was in Haiti and all that. Yeah, that's my
- 1:03:03Speaker 5: proudest moments.
- 1:03:04Speaker 2: Special, very special.
- 1:03:06Speaker 3: So what's one piece of advice both of you guys
- 1:03:08Speaker 3: would give just to people watching this when they experience hardships, challenges, adversity.
- 1:03:16Speaker 1: I mean, life is full ups and downs. I mean,
- 1:03:19Speaker 1: I think we all as individuals have experienced some tough
- 1:03:23Speaker 1: times a lot of good times. But the one thing
- 1:03:26Speaker 1: I would always say to people, and my advice is
- 1:03:30Speaker 1: never ever let your downs out weigh up. I mean,
- 1:03:36Speaker 1: I've that's kind of been my walk of life, and
- 1:03:40Speaker 1: I've had a lot, you know, my life has been
- 1:03:42Speaker 1: a big time roller coaster. But I would never let
- 1:03:45Speaker 1: my downs out weigh mobs. My ups have been so
- 1:03:49Speaker 1: good over the years. And you think about where I started,
- 1:03:55Speaker 1: you know, as a kid growing up and there in
- 1:03:56Speaker 1: the city of Indianapolis, and now this it's just thirty
- 1:04:00Speaker 1: five years of me in the NBA. I mean, it's crazy.
- 1:04:05Speaker 1: It's been a crazy run, but I wouldn't change it
- 1:04:07Speaker 1: for the world.
- 1:04:10Speaker 5: Never let your profession or your job define who you are.
- 1:04:14Speaker 5: You know, sometime we get caught up in that as
- 1:04:16Speaker 5: athletes especially, and no, it's just a job. You know,
- 1:04:21Speaker 5: at the end of the day, there's people with real problems,
- 1:04:24Speaker 5: with real issues. Absolutely always remember that. That's the advice
- 1:04:29Speaker 5: I try to get people, you know. And also, like
- 1:04:31Speaker 5: every day I wake up now, I say this all
- 1:04:34Speaker 5: the time. I'm six feet above ground. I'm the happiest
- 1:04:39Speaker 5: man in the world, because you know why, I got
- 1:04:41Speaker 5: a chance. Anytime I wake up, I got a shot.
- 1:04:46Speaker 1: And you got to think there's someone always worse off
- 1:04:49Speaker 1: than you are.
- 1:04:50Speaker 3: Man.
- 1:04:50Speaker 1: So it's just try to do right by people. That's
- 1:04:53Speaker 1: what it's all about.
- 1:04:55Speaker 3: I love that. I have two more questions before we wrap.
- 1:04:59Speaker 3: What's one thing that you, guys, both of your dads
- 1:05:03Speaker 3: have learned from us in terms of how you are
- 1:05:08Speaker 3: moving through life, how you are building your legacy. And
- 1:05:13Speaker 3: separate question, how do you want your legacy to be?
- 1:05:19Speaker 3: What do you want? What is that one thing that
- 1:05:21Speaker 3: you want to define your legacy?
- 1:05:23Speaker 1: My legacy, you know, it's it ain't defined by you
- 1:05:28Speaker 1: know really what I've done achieved is it's really my family.
- 1:05:33Speaker 1: It's my legacy. And in terms of your growth, alexisist
- 1:05:41Speaker 1: growth and how your mama has expanditary over the years.
- 1:05:48Speaker 1: When I watch you guys and your growth and now
- 1:05:55Speaker 1: both are married, you got beautiful husbands who that's a blessing.
- 1:06:02Speaker 1: And the fact that you've blessed me with my first
- 1:06:05Speaker 1: grand baby. Boy, there's nothing there's nothing else you know
- 1:06:12Speaker 1: that I can accomplish in life, because that's the ultimate
- 1:06:18Speaker 1: that's the ultimate goal, you know, when you when you
- 1:06:20Speaker 1: got a grandson, Hella. You know, I say this, I
- 1:06:25Speaker 1: don't want to be around you. I don't want to
- 1:06:27Speaker 1: be around a Lexus, your husbands, or my wife. I
- 1:06:31Speaker 1: just want my grandboy. And I don't mean I mean
- 1:06:38Speaker 1: that in a very facetious way. But when I see
- 1:06:43Speaker 1: that boy walk through the door and he sees Paul Paul,
- 1:06:46Speaker 1: and he says, hey, Paul Paul, and it comes running,
- 1:06:49Speaker 1: That's that's the only thing that matters. But I think
- 1:06:52Speaker 1: legacy can mean a lot of things, but when you
- 1:06:55Speaker 1: pass it down to your kids and and your grandkids,
- 1:07:01Speaker 1: that's what it's all about. You know, my days are
- 1:07:05Speaker 1: behind me. You know, I've had a fulfilled life, and
- 1:07:08Speaker 1: I'm gonna keep working for my daughters and my wife
- 1:07:12Speaker 1: and my grandkids. If I'm blessed with a lot more so,
- 1:07:15Speaker 1: you'all gotta keep getting busy, you know, lock in on
- 1:07:20Speaker 1: those sponsors.
- 1:07:26Speaker 5: Learning to be softer, you know, because you know, you
- 1:07:30Speaker 5: grow up and you again we said this and early
- 1:07:33Speaker 5: on you're thinking that you got to be hard because
- 1:07:35Speaker 5: you're a man. You gotta be you know, you got
- 1:07:38Speaker 5: to be the provider. You gotta do is you gotta
- 1:07:39Speaker 5: protect everything. And then you realize you have daughters and
- 1:07:42Speaker 5: it's like they're way different than sons. And so the
- 1:07:46Speaker 5: way I talk to my sons, I can't talk to
- 1:07:48Speaker 5: my daughters. And it's a everyday lesson that I'm learning,
- 1:07:52Speaker 5: you know, with all of them, you know.
- 1:07:55Speaker 2: Reconciling old stuff, you know, everything.
- 1:07:58Speaker 5: And so to me, it's it's one of those situations
- 1:08:01Speaker 5: that I take full advantage as best as I can,
- 1:08:05Speaker 5: because our legacy is that last name. That's our brand,
- 1:08:10Speaker 5: you know, don't cha, Gabona. They've created their name Gucci.
- 1:08:14Speaker 5: Whoever ours is Polonese.
- 1:08:17Speaker 2: You know.
- 1:08:17Speaker 5: Yes, my job was as a basketball player, but that
- 1:08:20Speaker 5: last name needs more. So I had to realize that
- 1:08:23Speaker 5: at one point in my life. It's like, you can't
- 1:08:25Speaker 5: keep messing up that name. You can't do certain things.
- 1:08:28Speaker 5: And that's why I try to pass on to them.
- 1:08:31Speaker 5: You can't mess up your last name because that's what
- 1:08:34Speaker 5: people are always going to remember. You know, you got
- 1:08:37Speaker 5: to protect your brand, which is that family name.
- 1:08:40Speaker 3: Yeah, and you have two people sitting on the couch
- 1:08:43Speaker 3: who are extensions of y'all's brand, and so as you
- 1:08:47Speaker 3: look at us, you can see that we've done all right,
- 1:08:50Speaker 3: and hopefully we are doing a good job at representing
- 1:08:54Speaker 3: the brand and the family and y'all's legacy. And I
- 1:08:57Speaker 3: know Alexis and I we just will strive to continue
- 1:09:02Speaker 3: to make you guys proud and all that we do.
- 1:09:04Speaker 1: So there, let's have some little grand babies.
- 1:09:11Speaker 2: Does not say that, No, I have to tell them.
- 1:09:14Speaker 2: I had to tell them to slow down.
- 1:09:17Speaker 5: I got four of them, yes, and I was like, yo,
- 1:09:20Speaker 5: y'all need to slow down, dude, I ain't got that
- 1:09:22Speaker 5: much quarters in my pocket.
- 1:09:23Speaker 2: We'll come up. They were having.
- 1:09:30Speaker 4: Got married.
- 1:09:30Speaker 3: He's like, yeah, no, no, no, it was a merry thing for.
- 1:09:32Speaker 2: Me, But I need all of them to get married before.
- 1:09:35Speaker 3: That was That was his point. He wanted us to
- 1:09:38Speaker 3: be married first. And then now he's like.
- 1:09:40Speaker 2: This was married before she had hers.
- 1:09:44Speaker 3: Well, thank you, guys.
- 1:09:45Speaker 2: Job fun I had a glad Yes.
- 1:09:53Speaker 3: So one last piece of surprise, well not piece of surprise,
- 1:09:58Speaker 3: one last surprise surprise for you, mister olden. LEXI wants
- 1:10:04Speaker 3: to give you a letter for you to read off camera.

- 1:10:45Speaker 5: young young, I don't know how were you two, three, four,

- 1:11:56Speaker 4: No, it's not mister, it's missed okay to miss the
- 1:11:59Speaker 4: old colonies.
- 1:12:01Speaker 2: You are the reason I walk with no care in
- 1:12:03Speaker 2: the world. People.
- 1:12:04Speaker 5: Mom psychology says a child without their dad will carry trauma.
- 1:12:10Speaker 5: Aren't or aren't you mad at your dad? Why would
- 1:12:13Speaker 5: I be? I knew you were mine. I didn't need
- 1:12:15Speaker 5: to see you to know I was the most beautiful
- 1:12:19Speaker 5: girl in the world with a daddy who will do anything.
- 1:12:22Speaker 2: Thank for her. It's okay, x O x O Alexis,
- 1:12:30Speaker 2: Oh my god, thank.
