- 0:01Speaker 1: Hi, Good morning, Catherine, Hello morning. Does everybody want to
- 0:07Speaker 1: hear me sing? I don't think so. But I have
- 0:09Speaker 1: learned how to dance a little bit. What I've learned
- 0:12Speaker 1: is to just side step to the beat, like just
- 0:14Speaker 1: a two step. I can do that. So I'm going
- 0:16Speaker 1: to do that just for everything, and I'm not going
- 0:19Speaker 1: to try to get anything more complicated than that. You
- 0:21Speaker 1: know what, Chelsea, I'm just sorry, Catherine. I just want
- 0:24Speaker 1: everyone to know that I'm drinking room temperature water right now.
- 0:28Speaker 1: It's actually got a little bit of a coolness to it,
- 0:30Speaker 1: so it's palatable. But this is a real tough pill
- 0:33Speaker 1: for me to swallow.
- 0:34Speaker 2: She does not like the water.
- 0:35Speaker 1: I love my thermis in my car. I love my thermiss.
- 0:37Speaker 1: By the way, shout out to Wellie. They make the
- 0:39Speaker 1: best thermoces. I could put ice in my Wellie bottle
- 0:42Speaker 1: and it's ice three days later.
- 0:44Speaker 3: Yes, can I tell you something. I have made yogurt
- 0:48Speaker 3: in my Wellie bottle.
- 0:49Speaker 1: Before you know what, Catherine, this is not something I
- 0:53Speaker 1: want to hear about. I says, right up, I'm surprised
- 0:56Speaker 1: you didn't say cottage cheese.
- 0:58Speaker 2: I have made my own cheese.
- 0:59Speaker 1: Actually, I mean fucking Brad, you're way to bury the lead.
- 1:04Speaker 1: Being married to Catherine, She's.
- 1:05Speaker 4: Up to no good.
- 1:06Speaker 2: I love fermented foods.
- 1:08Speaker 1: I had a military death on one of my planes
- 1:10Speaker 1: the other day and we stopped and they were transporting
- 1:13Speaker 1: a military bottle body and there were those a whole
- 1:19Speaker 1: ceremony outside the plane with like the military and their family,
- 1:22Speaker 1: which was sad because they were all crying, but it
- 1:25Speaker 1: was really sweet to see that. How they do that. Wow,
- 1:28Speaker 1: I was like, well, wait, I guess the airports aren't
- 1:30Speaker 1: that fucked up if they can swing this like you
- 1:32Speaker 1: know what. I mean. That really had some decorum and
- 1:34Speaker 1: some respect because I don't know what's happening with flights lately,
- 1:38Speaker 1: but something is way.
- 1:39Speaker 3: Of One of my girlfriends got stuck at Burbank Airport
- 1:42Speaker 3: for like all of Christmas Day.
- 1:44Speaker 1: Oh everyone did canceled all their flights. I mean, yeah,
- 1:48Speaker 1: it's been pretty brutal the travel situation. But I guess.
- 1:51Speaker 3: I have to tell you, Chelsea, we have not had
- 1:54Speaker 3: a question in a long time that's had as much
- 1:56Speaker 3: totally varied feedback as Jesse from a weeks ago. She
- 2:01Speaker 3: called in and remember we talked to her like all
- 2:03Speaker 3: like the entire episode with Brookshields about her in laws
- 2:08Speaker 3: yelling at her on the rafting trip, and then we
- 2:10Speaker 3: kind of got it.
- 2:11Speaker 1: We discovered that out of the calls she seemed to be
- 2:13Speaker 1: she needed to do some work. Yeah, well we discovered
- 2:16Speaker 1: that early on, but we were trying to be respectful before,
- 2:19Speaker 1: at least I was before I told her.
- 2:21Speaker 3: Yeah, so the dishwashing. But we had people emailing and
- 2:24Speaker 3: being like, go get her girls, she did wrong, other
- 2:27Speaker 3: people being like, no, it was totally her in law's
- 2:30Speaker 3: fault for screaming at her, and I just thought it
- 2:32Speaker 3: was really interesting.
- 2:32Speaker 2: I don't know if you've gotten damns about this, but
- 2:34Speaker 2: I've gotten a lot.
- 2:34Speaker 1: Of noot this I haven't. Yeah, that is interesting, Yeah,
- 2:38Speaker 1: I'm sure.
- 2:38Speaker 3: Well it's very relatable situation, right, Yeah, it's tough with
- 2:42Speaker 3: in laws.
- 2:43Speaker 2: I think nobody doesn't.
- 2:44Speaker 1: Get married you don't have to deal with that's another reason, okay,
- 2:48Speaker 1: to put another perk to not being married.
- 2:50Speaker 3: I think, you know, her family's got some shit to
- 2:52Speaker 3: work out too, because if somebody's screaming at you about
- 2:54Speaker 3: dishes two years later they wanted something to be mad
- 2:56Speaker 3: at you about, you.
- 2:57Speaker 5: Know what I mean?
- 2:57Speaker 1: Well, I think that's a really kind of icky thing
- 3:00Speaker 1: to do. If you're at someone's house and you make
- 3:03Speaker 1: a habit of nobody's supposed to ask you to help
- 3:06Speaker 1: at someone else's house, Like, it's not the onus is
- 3:08Speaker 1: not on them.
- 3:09Speaker 2: You jump in.
- 3:10Speaker 1: You got it? Even I do it, and not even I,
- 3:12Speaker 1: because like I'm someone special, even I who doesn't know
- 3:15Speaker 1: how to wash dishes, I shouldn't be washing dishes. It's
- 3:18Speaker 1: worse when I do it. Yeah, I always get up
- 3:20Speaker 1: and try. Yeah, I try to make an effort because
- 3:23Speaker 1: it's manners. I mean, it's pretty basic.
- 3:26Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 3:26Speaker 2: But people were up in arms about Jesse.
- 3:28Speaker 1: Real people were up in arms once when I did
- 3:30Speaker 1: some poll about toilet paper whether it should be upside
- 3:34Speaker 1: down coming from them or coming from the top or
- 3:37Speaker 1: I was on the Drew Barrymore Show and we were
- 3:39Speaker 1: doing something and it was the biggest thing. I mean,
- 3:42Speaker 1: there were like fifteen thousand comments about people's opinions. And
- 3:46Speaker 1: I finally figured out that I prefer, because I had
- 3:49Speaker 1: never thought about it before, prefer it from the bottom,
- 3:52Speaker 1: you do.
- 3:52Speaker 2: I don't want it from the top, top down?
- 3:55Speaker 1: Oh you do.
- 3:56Speaker 2: Interesting, We're just different in every way, Chelsea.
- 3:58Speaker 1: Well, yeah, so far, we have not found one similarity
- 4:01Speaker 1: except that we both are on this podcast. It's accurate,
- 4:05Speaker 1: that's what we all in common.
- 4:09Speaker 3: Well, Chelsea, today we have some really exciting guests.
- 4:13Speaker 1: Okay, great, I can't wait. I can't wait to find
- 4:16Speaker 1: out who they are today. Yeah, we have my two
- 4:20Speaker 1: Canadian mom friends, Kat and Nat. These girls are two
- 4:23Speaker 1: hot fucking messes and I'm excited to have them on
- 4:27Speaker 1: because they're besties. And then they tore around well, they
- 4:30Speaker 1: tour around America too, at Canada, and they both have
- 4:34Speaker 1: a bunch of children and they talk a lot about motherhood,
- 4:37Speaker 1: parenting and I don't know what who turned me on
- 4:40Speaker 1: to them, but we're buddies now.
- 4:41Speaker 2: They have seven kids between them.
- 4:43Speaker 1: Oh that's better than me having them. Are you guys
- 4:47Speaker 1: ride sharing?
- 4:49Speaker 4: Yeah? You know, we always. She doesn't drive. She has
- 4:52Speaker 4: a car and a license, but she won't drive. I
- 4:54Speaker 4: don't drive in the highway, just in the city, only
- 4:57Speaker 4: a few.
- 4:58Speaker 1: Streets the city or the suburb.
- 5:00Speaker 4: No, we're in the city.
- 5:01Speaker 5: I like the city because it's short streets, lots of lights,
- 5:03Speaker 5: like everything's really fast and quick. But if you go
- 5:06Speaker 5: to the suburbs, you have to take the highway. I
- 5:07Speaker 5: don't go there.
- 5:09Speaker 1: Okay, this is Cat, I mean, this is sorry, this
- 5:11Speaker 1: is Catherine. Hi, and this is Cat and this is no.
- 5:15Speaker 1: Well wait you Cat, Nat and.
- 5:18Speaker 4: Nat doesn't matter. It doesn't matter.
- 5:20Speaker 1: Yeah, I basically just call them both Cat.
- 5:22Speaker 2: We can all three be Cat today.
- 5:24Speaker 6: When they meet us, they're say your Cat and Nat,
- 5:27Speaker 6: even if we're not together.
- 5:28Speaker 4: Hi, Oh, I love you Cat and Nat. That's it.
- 5:31Speaker 6: So it's literally, it's it's totally fine. I mean, look
- 5:34Speaker 6: at us. I want to be confused too.
- 5:37Speaker 1: I know it is very confusing because you guys do
- 5:40Speaker 1: really look a lot alike, but only from hanging out
- 5:43Speaker 1: with you. I know that Cat is more of like
- 5:46Speaker 1: a busy body, and Nat is a little bit lazier.
- 5:49Speaker 4: Yeah, she loves to vertically. I am no, horizontally.
- 5:56Speaker 1: They don't want to. They went on tour. Okay, let's
- 5:59Speaker 1: talk about the jet assist of you guys, so that
- 6:01Speaker 1: I want Catherine to be as familiar with me because
- 6:03Speaker 1: I don't even remember how I met you too. I
- 6:05Speaker 1: just know that we are friends now. But explain to Catherine,
- 6:10Speaker 1: explain the genesis of everything that you two do. You
- 6:13Speaker 1: guys went on tour as mothers basically right, you're talking
- 6:16Speaker 1: about mother all the time on your Instagram and how
- 6:20Speaker 1: nuts it is.
- 6:21Speaker 4: First of all, it was a joke.
- 6:22Speaker 6: We decided to do a show as a joke because
- 6:26Speaker 6: no one invites us anywhere. So we were like, oh,
- 6:29Speaker 6: we'll make a party and we our first show.
- 6:32Speaker 4: You guys.
- 6:32Speaker 6: We threw for free, gave free drinks and free appetizers
- 6:37Speaker 6: for everybody. We wanted to host a party. We didn't
- 6:40Speaker 6: pay for it.
- 6:41Speaker 4: We found people to like sponsor it.
- 6:43Speaker 6: So we host a party in a theater and then
- 6:46Speaker 6: we go out to like go have a cocktail party
- 6:48Speaker 6: with everyone, and they mault like we get mauled. We
- 6:52Speaker 6: were like, oh, we were just here to hang out
- 6:53Speaker 6: and we couldn't get through the crowd. The security guard
- 6:55Speaker 6: basically took us and pulled us back inside. I was like,
- 6:58Speaker 6: that was weird.
- 6:59Speaker 5: That was like, we just need an excuse to get
- 7:01Speaker 5: away from the seven kids and go and have a party.
- 7:04Speaker 5: And for our party, we wanted a dj, we wanted strippers,
- 7:07Speaker 5: we wanted flamenco dancers, we wanted dancing, we wanted drinking,
- 7:10Speaker 5: We want a champagne. So we just created a party
- 7:13Speaker 5: and then started selling tickets to it.
- 7:14Speaker 6: And then our agents were like, Okay, if you can
- 7:17Speaker 6: sell out like three more theaters, we'll talk about it
- 7:20Speaker 6: to our moment, okay, just kind of all came together.
- 7:22Speaker 6: We had a podcast, and I don't know.
- 7:24Speaker 5: We wrote a couple of books, and then Chelsea once
- 7:26Speaker 5: like commented on our Instagram and we died and the
- 7:30Speaker 5: people were text us you see the Chelsea's oh my god.
- 7:33Speaker 6: That I don't want to actually talk to her, like
- 7:35Speaker 6: I didn't want to. I'm like, don't say yes to
- 7:36Speaker 6: our podcast because that's pressure. And then because you're like
- 7:40Speaker 6: a real you're funny, We're I was funny and famous
- 7:43Speaker 6: or not us her and then it was more like
- 7:46Speaker 6: we're just shit shows and people liked that.
- 7:49Speaker 5: And now we've seen Chelsea three times this year. One
- 7:52Speaker 5: we came to your show in Toronto. Two you met
- 7:54Speaker 5: us at the Sofa hus three were seeing you right now.
- 7:57Speaker 1: Where do you guys live? And you live in Toron,
- 8:00Speaker 1: so so everyone knows they're Canadian? Yeah, but they tour
- 8:03Speaker 1: in America. So what was your agent for before you
- 8:06Speaker 1: decided to start? How did you even have an agent?
- 8:08Speaker 6: She emailed every person at WME and just said, you
- 8:11Speaker 6: know what, we're had in that and we need someone
- 8:14Speaker 6: to help us with deals, and they said, yes, it
- 8:16Speaker 6: was so.
- 8:17Speaker 4: Weird, but we did. We were doing like we were
- 8:19Speaker 4: doing videos.
- 8:19Speaker 5: We were doing the mom Troops videos and those were
- 8:22Speaker 5: videos in the car just like talking about what it's
- 8:24Speaker 5: like to be a mom.
- 8:25Speaker 4: We were doing what else did we do?
- 8:27Speaker 1: But not glorifying what it's like to be a mom. No,
- 8:29Speaker 1: they's all about how hard it is to be a mom,
- 8:31Speaker 1: just how demanding it is and all the disappointments and
- 8:34Speaker 1: that you're not going to win all the time, and
- 8:35Speaker 1: there's going to be a lot of failures and you're
- 8:37Speaker 1: going to feel like a failure and that all of
- 8:39Speaker 1: that is fine.
- 8:40Speaker 5: Yeah, and that's exactly how we felt when we first
- 8:42Speaker 5: had our babies. We were just like, we thought this
- 8:44Speaker 5: was going to be so beautiful and it's actually not,
- 8:46Speaker 5: and nobody's talking about it. So let's just start doing
- 8:48Speaker 5: some videos. Because a lot of moms were like blogging
- 8:51Speaker 5: at the time, and we weren't going to sit down
- 8:52Speaker 5: and write, so we did videos. No one was doing videos.
- 8:55Speaker 5: Social media wasn't really a thing. And then everything just
- 8:57Speaker 5: came at the same time. Like we had been doing
- 8:59Speaker 5: live streaming through YouTube and the Facebook Live came, so
- 9:01Speaker 5: we turned it to Facebook Live. It's been a lot
- 9:04Speaker 5: of like chance and opportunity and saying yes, you know,
- 9:07Speaker 5: we were We went to a conference that we had
- 9:09Speaker 5: really no idea. We just kind of decided to go
- 9:11Speaker 5: and the Today Show was there and two producers they
- 9:15Speaker 5: found us walking in a hallway and they asked us
- 9:17Speaker 5: a question and then they were like, wait, will you
- 9:19Speaker 5: two come with us here? I'm like, yeah, sure, and
- 9:21Speaker 5: then we just went with them. And then it's actually.
- 9:24Speaker 6: Been a lot of women who because we really are
- 9:27Speaker 6: naive in this world of what we've been doing, and
- 9:30Speaker 6: it's really been women like you Chelsea and like the
- 9:33Speaker 6: Today Show, and people have just said like yes.
- 9:36Speaker 4: And they've they've just helped us.
- 9:37Speaker 6: And you know, when you open a door, like even
- 9:39Speaker 6: when you comment, that's what people see and they're like, oh,
- 9:43Speaker 6: she's looking at them. That means that they're worthy of
- 9:46Speaker 6: me looking at them. Unfortunately, it's sort of the way
- 9:48Speaker 6: it looks. And even when you don't think you're opening doors,
- 9:51Speaker 6: kindness goes so far and you you personally have opened
- 9:55Speaker 6: a ton of doors for us, and we know people
- 9:57Speaker 6: say yes because you've said yes.
- 9:58Speaker 4: So I just think, you know, I see like.
- 10:00Speaker 5: Amy Schumer now comments and follows us, and I'm pretty
- 10:03Speaker 5: sure that that's probably because she saw you, you know
- 10:05Speaker 5: what I mean, that you did so that she.
- 10:07Speaker 4: Kind of took notice enough.
- 10:08Speaker 6: I just think a lot of women have been so
- 10:10Speaker 6: impactful in ways they don't know for us, because it's
- 10:13Speaker 6: really a lot of yeses. That's all we've really done
- 10:16Speaker 6: and stumbled and failed and gotten up, and some shows
- 10:19Speaker 6: are do shit and terrible and you're like, oh, that's
- 10:22Speaker 6: not my demo. But you can't let that hurt your
- 10:25Speaker 6: ego because we don't knock it out of every city.
- 10:27Speaker 6: But we figure out, we regroup, and we go back
- 10:29Speaker 6: to the place, you know what I mean. It's always
- 10:32Speaker 6: reverse correct, reverse correct.
- 10:33Speaker 4: It's kind of like that.
- 10:34Speaker 1: And what would you say that you feel like, thus far,
- 10:37Speaker 1: your biggest impact has been for other mothers.
- 10:40Speaker 4: I think it's like for women too.
- 10:42Speaker 6: You know, we have a lot of young people who
- 10:43Speaker 6: follow us, like fifteen year old's, fourteen year olds who
- 10:46Speaker 6: wait in the parking lot after the show and sneak
- 10:49Speaker 6: into our shows to come see us. And I think
- 10:52Speaker 6: that right now it's our friendship for a lot of
- 10:54Speaker 6: people that brings the hope and that they find comfort
- 10:57Speaker 6: in our friendship even more than motherhood.
- 11:00Speaker 1: Oh yeah, that's true, because that's honestly, that's what attracted
- 11:02Speaker 1: to me, to you, to the bestie vibe. I always
- 11:04Speaker 1: love bestie dynamic.
- 11:06Speaker 6: And I feel like we fuck up constantly, but we
- 11:08Speaker 6: pick each other up and it's because we may have
- 11:10Speaker 6: each other we can do what we do.
- 11:11Speaker 4: And I think that our friendship is really.
- 11:13Speaker 5: And the young people are on TikTok, like if this
- 11:16Speaker 5: isn't us when older than I don't, I.
- 11:18Speaker 4: Don't want to be.
- 11:19Speaker 2: I love that.
- 11:20Speaker 4: Yeah, so it's sort of this weird.
- 11:22Speaker 6: You know, you don't have to give up your best
- 11:23Speaker 6: friend because you're an adult, and I think that's what
- 11:26Speaker 6: a lot of people think.
- 11:26Speaker 4: You have to grow up and lose your friendship.
- 11:28Speaker 1: No, you just have to time your babies and families
- 11:31Speaker 1: together so that you're both on the same track. Because
- 11:33Speaker 1: I was asking them about their other friendships independent of
- 11:35Speaker 1: their own, because you both have separate groups of friends
- 11:37Speaker 1: that don't necessarily cross over to your.
- 11:41Speaker 2: Cat or net.
- 11:42Speaker 4: Right, Yeah, that's right. Yeah, we have separate friendships.
- 11:44Speaker 6: We for sure planned a bunch of them though, like
- 11:47Speaker 6: we're like, don't you can't pull out, you know what
- 11:48Speaker 6: I mean, Like you're not pulling friends, but it's like.
- 11:51Speaker 4: You are staying in there. We planned the babies before
- 11:54Speaker 4: husbands had any idea what was happening.
- 11:55Speaker 1: It's almost like your husbands are both just so inconsequential
- 11:59Speaker 1: in this dynamic. It's you know, I feel sad for them,
- 12:02Speaker 1: but I also feel like, you know, good.
- 12:04Speaker 4: They travel, they take care of the kids, they're not one.
- 12:07Speaker 6: Yeah it's pick up time right now, and they check
- 12:09Speaker 6: off they're not working so they can pick up the kids.
- 12:12Speaker 4: So they are also a huge reason.
- 12:14Speaker 6: They support our friendship and what we do, so we
- 12:16Speaker 6: are very They're not just sperm, you know what I mean?
- 12:19Speaker 1: Okay, well sure, sure we'll agree on that. Also, they
- 12:24Speaker 1: travel on a tour bus and I don't sleep in
- 12:26Speaker 1: the same bed because they don't. They're not down with that.
- 12:29Speaker 1: But that's more NAT than KAT right from what I remember.
- 12:32Speaker 1: Would you two sleep together, I would sleep in a
- 12:34Speaker 1: bed with anybody. I have no problems with that. I
- 12:37Speaker 1: I mean, I prefer well not if we're sleeping together.
- 12:39Speaker 1: You won't this one over here, Fuck, you're gonna snuggle me?
- 12:44Speaker 1: My one friend I have one friend who always wants
- 12:46Speaker 1: to sleep holding hands, So I had to kick her
- 12:48Speaker 1: out of it. I go, you know what, I'm not
- 12:49Speaker 1: holding hands with you all that I was down to
- 12:51Speaker 1: sleep with you. She slept over my house the other
- 12:53Speaker 1: night and we woke up in the morning and there's
- 12:55Speaker 1: plenty of rooms for her to sleep in. And she
- 12:56Speaker 1: got up in the morning and she goes, I didn't
- 12:58Speaker 1: touch you. I didn't touch you. I'm like, yeah, that's
- 13:01Speaker 1: what the fuck is supposed to happen. Can't sleep with
- 13:03Speaker 1: me if you're gonna fucking hold my ann you're not
- 13:06Speaker 1: my boyfriend, you know.
- 13:08Speaker 4: Well, honestly, we always say, like, we have tried to
- 13:10Speaker 4: teach these seven kids to sleep independently on their own,
- 13:13Speaker 4: and then finally they learned how to sleep on their own,
- 13:15Speaker 4: and then you get your relationship, and now you're supposed
- 13:17Speaker 4: to share a bed again, Like it just doesn't make
- 13:19Speaker 4: sense for the way that we have learned how to sleep.
- 13:22Speaker 4: So yeah, I mean she does it too. We build
- 13:23Speaker 4: a wall.
- 13:24Speaker 5: Between our husbands of pillows, and I don't want like,
- 13:27Speaker 5: maybe his feet might creep over like a hand my
- 13:29Speaker 5: cream over, but that's not gonna happen Between the two
- 13:31Speaker 5: of us independent sleeping, like like if I can.
- 13:34Speaker 6: Have my own bed, I haven't had in my own
- 13:35Speaker 6: bed in a long time. Like someone's in you, on
- 13:38Speaker 6: you or wants to get in you at all times.
- 13:40Speaker 6: So you're like when you get your own bed, it's
- 13:42Speaker 6: like that's amazing.
- 13:43Speaker 4: Sare heaven.
- 13:44Speaker 3: So you want like Lucy and Ricky style, like two
- 13:46Speaker 3: beds in the bedroom.
- 13:48Speaker 6: So sometimes people will fly us out and we'll get
- 13:51Speaker 6: us two rooms, and then we get to the hotel
- 13:53Speaker 6: where like can we only use one room with two beds?
- 13:56Speaker 4: Like can we change that king to too?
- 13:58Speaker 1: That's the ultimate for all sleeping is to be in
- 14:00Speaker 1: the same room or the same house with a big group.
- 14:03Speaker 1: But everyone has their own privacy.
- 14:06Speaker 6: Catherine, Why did Lucy and Ricky sleep in separate beds?
- 14:09Speaker 2: Well, I think it wasn't allowed for them to have
- 14:11Speaker 2: one bed.
- 14:11Speaker 1: Well, no, that was in that time era, like people
- 14:14Speaker 1: did that, people had separate sleeping arrangements. I'm not sure.
- 14:18Speaker 4: I guess why did that change?
- 14:20Speaker 1: I'm not sure. I don't know.
- 14:22Speaker 3: They were married, right, yeah, yeah, yeah, they made little
- 14:25Speaker 3: Ricky so because they were fucking smarter than us, I guess.
- 14:27Speaker 1: I mean that's what that's what needs to come back
- 14:30Speaker 1: in style if it should be retroactive. I think everyone
- 14:32Speaker 1: who has a child. I don't even have a child,
- 14:35Speaker 1: and I feel that way, but anyone who has a
- 14:36Speaker 1: child is definitely on board for separate beds.
- 14:39Speaker 4: Is your dog with you?
- 14:40Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 14:41Speaker 1: Yeah, I want them to, but they even reject me.
- 14:43Speaker 1: They don't want to say in the bed all night.
- 14:45Speaker 1: I have to leave the little doggy steps. So Bernice
- 14:47Speaker 1: will like humor me. She's like, oh, here we go.
- 14:49Speaker 1: You know, she thinks I'm like assaulting her, so she
- 14:51Speaker 1: goes to her safe spot while I assault her, and
- 14:54Speaker 1: then I put her under the covers, like like we're
- 14:56Speaker 1: gonna do it. And I noticed that if I have
- 14:58Speaker 1: the confidence of her not leaving, she will remain. It's
- 15:02Speaker 1: when I look at her and like, you know, and
- 15:04Speaker 1: I'm worried about her leaving. Is when she leaves so
- 15:06Speaker 1: she can get five.
- 15:07Speaker 4: With your insecurity.
- 15:08Speaker 7: Yeah yeah.
- 15:10Speaker 1: And Burt has basically turned into some sort of limp biscuit,
- 15:13Speaker 1: so I can't. He's not getting into my bed because
- 15:16Speaker 1: he's frail now, so I have to respect that. No
- 15:18Speaker 1: more abuse, even though he's probably got that way from
- 15:21Speaker 1: my abuse anyway. So let's talk a little bit about
- 15:24Speaker 1: your friendship. Okay, we've talked about it before when you
- 15:27Speaker 1: guys interviewed me, but I think it's inspiring for a
- 15:29Speaker 1: lot of people that will be listening how your friendship
- 15:31Speaker 1: works and what the benefits to each of your lives
- 15:34Speaker 1: are by having such a close, fun, work friend relationship, Kat,
- 15:38Speaker 1: why don't you start?
- 15:40Speaker 4: I think for us it will.
- 15:41Speaker 6: Number one, It allows you to take sort of more
- 15:43Speaker 6: risks because when there's two of you losing and failing,
- 15:46Speaker 6: it's a lot, it's funnier and it's a lot easier
- 15:48Speaker 6: than when it's one of you. And I think that
- 15:50Speaker 6: when you're both in it together, there's no everything feels
- 15:54Speaker 6: fun that we do. There's nothing.
- 15:55Speaker 4: We could be on a delay on an airplane for
- 15:58Speaker 4: twelve hours and.
- 15:59Speaker 6: It's fun like it just the stakes just feel different
- 16:03Speaker 6: because everything's kind of a joke and in a way
- 16:07Speaker 6: that when parenting is going to shit, we call each
- 16:09Speaker 6: other and thank god, it often doesn't go to shit
- 16:11Speaker 6: at the same time, or when your relationship's not great
- 16:14Speaker 6: and you always have someone to share everything with because
- 16:17Speaker 6: you're so intimate with them, but you don't have sex
- 16:19Speaker 6: with them, that it's like this weird.
- 16:21Speaker 4: We're not transactional.
- 16:23Speaker 6: We're so tight that when you know when someone's going
- 16:26Speaker 6: through something, they don't have to see it. The other
- 16:27Speaker 6: one can just pick up the work slack, knowing that
- 16:30Speaker 6: that one needs that, and vice versa.
- 16:32Speaker 4: So it's this weird.
- 16:34Speaker 6: I think we get double done because there's two of
- 16:37Speaker 6: us versus one of us, and there's no If we
- 16:40Speaker 6: failed and lost everything tomorrow, I would be okay because
- 16:44Speaker 6: our ride has been so much fun and we would
- 16:46Speaker 6: still have each other and we'd probably figure out something
- 16:49Speaker 6: else to do in a different capacity. But this wouldn't change.
- 16:53Speaker 6: And I think that's the coolest thing about our friendship.
- 16:55Speaker 6: It's friendship first and then fun and then work.
- 16:59Speaker 1: Yeah, and what about you, Nat, I want you to
- 17:01Speaker 1: speak up.
- 17:02Speaker 4: This is going to be hard for her. She doesn't
- 17:03Speaker 4: do feeling.
- 17:04Speaker 8: I know.
- 17:04Speaker 1: That's why you're going second, she got inspired.
- 17:06Speaker 4: She told me recently why I love her.
- 17:08Speaker 5: We were on a plane and we were talking about
- 17:10Speaker 5: love and what love is and why she loves me
- 17:13Speaker 5: and I love her, and she basically told me I
- 17:15Speaker 5: love her because she.
- 17:16Speaker 4: Does things for me like drive me around and like.
- 17:19Speaker 6: Sure she stays book her plane tickets you know her life.
- 17:23Speaker 4: But I was like, I think it's more than that.
- 17:25Speaker 4: But maybe that's all it is.
- 17:26Speaker 5: It's been fourteen years of being moms together, and there
- 17:30Speaker 5: has been so many hard times.
- 17:32Speaker 4: It hasn't all been like he ty keen.
- 17:34Speaker 5: We've had a post part of anxiety, We've had sickness,
- 17:37Speaker 5: we've had so many things. But being able to rely
- 17:39Speaker 5: on your friend too, like she said, pick up when
- 17:41Speaker 5: the other one can't.
- 17:42Speaker 4: But also, like my kids say to me, you are
- 17:45Speaker 4: so lucky.
- 17:46Speaker 5: You get to go to work every day with your
- 17:48Speaker 5: best friend and there's no boss, right, we're equal bosses,
- 17:51Speaker 5: so we don't have to go into work, have a boss,
- 17:54Speaker 5: go to work all day with a bunch of like
- 17:55Speaker 5: weirdos or strangers.
- 17:57Speaker 4: It's just us and everything we get to do is fun.
- 17:59Speaker 5: I do remind them that what we do is work,
- 18:01Speaker 5: and we work hard together, but we work together really
- 18:03Speaker 5: well because we know each other so well.
- 18:05Speaker 4: But yeah, we get to just have fun.
- 18:07Speaker 5: And also it's really great that our children get to
- 18:09Speaker 5: have sort of like a second mother so that when
- 18:12Speaker 5: like our siblings, our seventh which is my baby, my
- 18:15Speaker 5: baby's the seventh, but our seventh is so ferocious because
- 18:19Speaker 5: she's had to have like seven.
- 18:21Speaker 4: Above her, like she's grown up with six siblings. Essentially,
- 18:24Speaker 4: she's ferocious.
- 18:25Speaker 1: I'm the youngest of six, so I know exactly what
- 18:27Speaker 1: you're talking.
- 18:28Speaker 4: Ferious.
- 18:29Speaker 6: Our two babies are ferocious, and I just think they're
- 18:32Speaker 6: so lucky that they always have a built in tribe.
- 18:35Speaker 6: Like you know, I'm sure you feel it like when
- 18:37Speaker 6: you have a lot of people around you. It's like
- 18:38Speaker 6: this built in little thing that you get bumpers around you.
- 18:41Speaker 5: And we take them on vacation together and we spend
- 18:43Speaker 5: summers together.
- 18:44Speaker 6: And us walking on the plane, eleven of us, seven
- 18:48Speaker 6: children and the two of us walking onto a plane, Everyone's.
- 18:50Speaker 5: Like, oh, my daughter has billed a hot cup of
- 18:53Speaker 5: noodles on two different men on two different planes their pants.
- 18:59Speaker 1: Oh god, oh how humiliating.
- 19:01Speaker 5: She offered him candy as like an apology, and we
- 19:04Speaker 5: left the two girls like, mom, we still I don't
- 19:06Speaker 5: know who you are.
- 19:07Speaker 1: You deal with this man, and that's when you fan out,
- 19:09Speaker 1: fan out to get away from your children. You don't
- 19:11Speaker 1: want to be seen with them. And do you guys
- 19:13Speaker 1: have similar parenting styles? Are you guys like agree on
- 19:16Speaker 1: the way you parent or you do differ in that way.
- 19:19Speaker 6: We like parent each other's children differently, Like her kids
- 19:23Speaker 6: will come to me for some things, and my kids will.
- 19:25Speaker 4: Go to her for things. Like we definitely have different personalities.
- 19:28Speaker 5: Our mothers mothered us differently, but overall I respect totally
- 19:33Speaker 5: the way that she does it, and she respects the
- 19:35Speaker 5: way that I do it.
- 19:36Speaker 6: We go to each other for different devices, like she
- 19:38Speaker 6: has experts and I have expertise, and then we blend.
- 19:42Speaker 1: And what do you think your strong suit is? Your
- 19:44Speaker 1: strong parenting suit is?
- 19:45Speaker 2: Kat?
- 19:46Speaker 9: Oh?
- 19:46Speaker 4: God, that's so serious. You know. I'm like the talker.
- 19:49Speaker 6: So they'll call me, like yesterday, she's like, Mom, we're
- 19:52Speaker 6: going through some anxiety.
- 19:53Speaker 4: Can you walk us through these.
- 19:54Speaker 6: Feelings that we're in the car and we are kids
- 19:55Speaker 6: in the car. I'm like, yeah, let's go here we go?
- 19:57Speaker 6: Oh Kat, I'm like, I don't know where we go
- 20:00Speaker 6: when we die? Like I do the sex like I'm
- 20:02Speaker 6: the sex conversation. I land the plane. You know, I'm like,
- 20:06Speaker 6: if you don't know about a boner by grade two,
- 20:08Speaker 6: we're screwed. So like, I'm like boner penis vagina. People
- 20:11Speaker 6: do it for fun and for babies. We sit them
- 20:14Speaker 6: all down and lay it out and not as strong suits.
- 20:18Speaker 6: She's the one who's like, let's get up on the
- 20:19Speaker 6: couch and the tables and dance. We bring the fun
- 20:23Speaker 6: and I'm the combo. She's the person who's like the
- 20:26Speaker 6: party starter, like always yes, can we have a bag
- 20:29Speaker 6: of candy?
- 20:29Speaker 4: Yes? Can we go here? Yes? Yeah?
- 20:32Speaker 6: But I'm not I'm not there to talk talk about No,
- 20:34Speaker 6: They'll all call me and I'm like, let's talk.
- 20:36Speaker 1: Okay, I see, I see, yeah, I understand that. I
- 20:39Speaker 1: get that from you too.
- 20:41Speaker 6: And then I have to because we share a bank
- 20:43Speaker 6: account and a credit card, so we all all of
- 20:45Speaker 6: our money goes into one account, the two of us.
- 20:50Speaker 1: You are married, you guys, you guys co mingle your funds.
- 20:54Speaker 5: Yes, but like we have other like the funds with
- 20:57Speaker 5: the husbands and that's where everything's in. No look at
- 21:00Speaker 5: the budget. But with us that we didn't even know
- 21:02Speaker 5: for the first few years, and we had to pay taxes.
- 21:04Speaker 5: We had the most amazing first couple of years until
- 21:07Speaker 5: we found out about all that. They're basically like, you're
- 21:10Speaker 5: broke and you start fresh, and we're like shit, but
- 21:13Speaker 5: we always just like we like to spend money, and
- 21:14Speaker 5: you want something, I'm like, let's go get it, and
- 21:17Speaker 5: then we just go buy it out of the time.
- 21:18Speaker 1: Oh my god, I love that you have a bank
- 21:20Speaker 1: account together. That is so ridiculous.
- 21:22Speaker 4: We changed our.
- 21:23Speaker 5: Wedding and our engagement rings to different styles together.
- 21:29Speaker 1: I just told you ten minutes ago that your husbands
- 21:31Speaker 1: are inconsequential and you disagree with me, and you're just
- 21:34Speaker 1: proving my point. Everything you're saying is supporting what I
- 21:37Speaker 1: said ten minutes earlier. So yeah, they're very valuable. Thank
- 21:41Speaker 1: God for those times, Thank God for them. Well, we
- 21:45Speaker 1: tried to curate your episode today, ladies. Yes, Catherine is
- 21:49Speaker 1: very good at curating towards you know, the guests that
- 21:52Speaker 1: we have on to the callers, so that you're going
- 21:54Speaker 1: to be of some help since I know that Nat
- 21:57Speaker 1: is into talk therapy and she's going to be really
- 22:00Speaker 1: valuable in conversations. Yeah, no, kay not we'll not go
- 22:03Speaker 1: to therapy, but you probably still have some good advice
- 22:05Speaker 1: that you can show with a.
- 22:06Speaker 4: Social worker to this long show, like yeah.
- 22:09Speaker 1: You were not social worker before you.
- 22:13Speaker 3: Yes, Well, we're gonna take a quick break and then
- 22:17Speaker 3: we'll be back and we'll take some callers and some emails.
- 22:20Speaker 1: Okay, we're taking a break and we're back. We're back,
- 22:27Speaker 1: We're back.
- 22:29Speaker 7: Well.
- 22:29Speaker 3: Our first email comes from a mom who is going
- 22:33Speaker 3: by tired af Dear Chelsea. I'm a twenty six year
- 22:38Speaker 3: old mom of four, two of which I had eight
- 22:40Speaker 3: months ago, twin girls. One of them is so chill,
- 22:45Speaker 3: only cries when she needs something, and an all around
- 22:48Speaker 3: normal baby. The other one is exhausting. In her defense,
- 22:52Speaker 3: she does have collics, some stomach problems, and she's currently teething,
- 22:56Speaker 3: but she literally never stops crying since she was born.
- 23:01Speaker 3: She's crying like fifty percent of every day. I have
- 23:03Speaker 3: a four year old and a two year old who
- 23:05Speaker 3: also do their fair share of crying, and it gets
- 23:08Speaker 3: to me. I find myself thinking about how nice it
- 23:11Speaker 3: would be if she could be more like her twin sister.
- 23:13Speaker 3: She's the easiest baby I've ever cared for, and I'm
- 23:16Speaker 3: the oldest of ten, so I've had my fair share
- 23:18Speaker 3: of experiences with babies. My question to you is, how
- 23:22Speaker 3: do I not play favorites with the twins when they're
- 23:24Speaker 3: so obviously is one. I of course love them both equally,
- 23:27Speaker 3: but let's be honest, I'm scared this might carry into
- 23:30Speaker 3: the future and become a problem when they get older
- 23:32Speaker 3: and start to realize the vibe. But it's so hard
- 23:35Speaker 3: to keep it together with everything going on? What do
- 23:39Speaker 3: I do about having a favorite? Sincerely tired AF.
- 23:44Speaker 4: I can't even believe that she had the time to
- 23:46Speaker 4: write that.
- 23:47Speaker 5: Like that sounds like such a shit show over there.
- 23:51Speaker 4: I mean, she's twenty six years old, like her brain
- 23:53Speaker 4: just got fully developed a year ago.
- 23:56Speaker 5: Yet that just now, that is crazy And the only
- 23:58Speaker 5: thing I could think of is I have four kids
- 24:00Speaker 5: as well. I did not have four kids at twenty six.
- 24:02Speaker 5: I did not have nine siblings. But there is times
- 24:06Speaker 5: in the cycle of our children that there is a favorite.
- 24:09Speaker 5: And absolutely that quiet baby is going to be the
- 24:11Speaker 5: favorite because it's giving the least problems. But my quietest
- 24:15Speaker 5: ones a year later are the hardest ones. And people
- 24:18Speaker 5: always ask us, do you have a favorite? I'm like,
- 24:21Speaker 5: it depends on the day. So I'm pretty sure that
- 24:24Speaker 5: quiet little one isn't going to be your favorite forever.
- 24:26Speaker 5: That one's a terrible teenager, that one's going to come
- 24:28Speaker 5: out of nowhere.
- 24:29Speaker 6: Yeah, you never get nothing, nothing, Scott Free, No one's
- 24:32Speaker 6: good for life.
- 24:33Speaker 5: You know, your quiet baby's going to be a pregnant,
- 24:36Speaker 5: pregnant drug addict by fourteen.
- 24:38Speaker 1: Yeah, and I so enjoy the time that you have
- 24:41Speaker 1: them as your favorite. Because I've talked to a lot
- 24:43Speaker 1: of men about this, because I know women's answer is
- 24:45Speaker 1: pretty kind of what you guys are saying. I always
- 24:47Speaker 1: get an interesting answer. Men have consistently said, whichever child
- 24:51Speaker 1: needs me the most is their favorite. Huh. And that
- 24:54Speaker 1: changes all the time too, So it's kind of like
- 24:56Speaker 1: the opposite of what this woman is going through. So
- 24:58Speaker 1: I think I don't think it's a new sure to
- 25:00Speaker 1: have a favorite. My mom said the same thing all
- 25:02Speaker 1: the time. It's just like depends on what day of
- 25:03Speaker 1: the week you ask me, totally. Yeah, And whoever's the
- 25:06Speaker 1: easiest to deal with is obviously, So don't feel guilty
- 25:09Speaker 1: about that. You're not alone at all, No.
- 25:12Speaker 5: And just you know, I'm just thinking about Kat's family
- 25:15Speaker 5: and my family, and we both know who our mom's
- 25:18Speaker 5: favorite is.
- 25:19Speaker 4: And it's your brother. Yeah, I guess, And I'm fine
- 25:24Speaker 4: with that. And she does.
- 25:25Speaker 6: Natalie here does happen to have one child blown up
- 25:28Speaker 6: in giant Life's like giant on the wall for many years,
- 25:32Speaker 6: just one of them and she has four kids, but
- 25:34Speaker 6: one made the wall.
- 25:35Speaker 4: He's so big. He's honestly the most photochemic, so it
- 25:38Speaker 4: was huge.
- 25:39Speaker 5: You walked in, it was a portrait of him. Everyone's like,
- 25:41Speaker 5: isn't that wrong? And I'm like, listen, we had a
- 25:43Speaker 5: photo shoot and one kid nailed it. He's a huge
- 25:46Speaker 5: picture on the wall.
- 25:47Speaker 4: That was it. He got good luck next time.
- 25:52Speaker 1: That's funny. I always say that's my family. I'm like,
- 25:54Speaker 1: it's just because I'm the best looking one. You guys,
- 25:56Speaker 1: I mean, that's why everything's working out the way it has.
- 25:59Speaker 1: This was about this world's about looks, and I got
- 26:02Speaker 1: them so back up and I asked, how that's.
- 26:05Speaker 4: How she feels. Oh my gosh.
- 26:07Speaker 5: Everybody although he is a little on the short side
- 26:10Speaker 5: compared to everybody else, so.
- 26:12Speaker 4: He needed the wall, if you will, we needed to
- 26:14Speaker 4: start early.
- 26:15Speaker 1: So yeah, I like all the reasoning behind the big
- 26:18Speaker 1: picture on the wall. So far, I'm totally on board
- 26:20Speaker 1: with this. That's actually a good way to keep kids
- 26:24Speaker 1: in check. If you have three or more, totally blow
- 26:26Speaker 1: one up and put it on the wall and be like,
- 26:27Speaker 1: guess who the favorite of the month is. Everybody needs
- 26:30Speaker 1: to step their fucking game up.
- 26:32Speaker 4: Oh my gosh, yay, you are you are onto something favorite.
- 26:36Speaker 4: It's like the employee of the month.
- 26:37Speaker 1: Yes, you are. Needs incentivization children. You know how when
- 26:41Speaker 1: you went to sleep away camp. I went to the
- 26:43Speaker 1: sleep away camp. Well, no, my parents couldn't afford sleepway camp,
- 26:46Speaker 1: so they sent me to this day camp. And every
- 26:48Speaker 1: day as somebody would get like best swimmer or best
- 26:51Speaker 1: finger blaster or whatever you do. And it felt even
- 26:55Speaker 1: though I saw everyone every day get an award as
- 26:58Speaker 1: a kid, it felt so good to get the ord.
- 27:01Speaker 1: You know, it feels so good. And that's I mean,
- 27:03Speaker 1: who doesn't like that that Pavlovian you know response and record? Yeah,
- 27:08Speaker 1: so yeah, I think everybody listening I just gave you.
- 27:10Speaker 1: I mean it just came out and I think it's awesome. Yeah,
- 27:13Speaker 1: it's a great way to take everybody together.
- 27:15Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 27:15Speaker 5: And if you have braces, you just have to wait
- 27:17Speaker 5: to get those off to hit the wall.
- 27:19Speaker 1: No, I think it. I disagree, Nat, I disagree. I
- 27:22Speaker 1: think sometimes just like kids with braces are the best,
- 27:24Speaker 1: and they should be given they're due right, not just
- 27:26Speaker 1: based It shouldn't be based on looks. It should be
- 27:29Speaker 1: based on who's the best kid that month, who had
- 27:31Speaker 1: the best behavior, you know what I mean? Okay, fair
- 27:34Speaker 1: or best grades or whatever. However you want to categorize,
- 27:37Speaker 1: it is up to you.
- 27:38Speaker 4: I love it.
- 27:38Speaker 2: Yeah, I love it.
- 27:39Speaker 3: And then when they're teenagers and they hate you and
- 27:41Speaker 3: they're embarrassed by everything, you put their picture on the
- 27:44Speaker 3: wall until they're good, and then you can take it down.
- 27:46Speaker 4: Yeah, oh my gosh, I love that.
- 27:48Speaker 2: Yes, humiliation.
- 27:49Speaker 1: There's probably gonna be an age where they don't want
- 27:51Speaker 1: their picture on the wall, So then you have to
- 27:53Speaker 1: like restrategize.
- 27:54Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, you know.
- 27:56Speaker 6: Then you put yourself up, but you put a nude up,
- 27:58Speaker 6: you know, you don't embarrass Yeah.
- 28:01Speaker 4: Going out, you know, mommy and daddy in their boudoir shop.
- 28:04Speaker 1: Yeah, or you just make it. Yeah, that's good to
- 28:07Speaker 1: threaten them with. Like you're going to do a lot
- 28:08Speaker 1: of public displays of affection with your husband. That's also
- 28:12Speaker 1: a good threat. Yeah, write that book hot parenting tips.
- 28:18Speaker 2: So our next caller, and this was her telling it.
- 28:21Speaker 3: They're going to be on a zoom So girls, okay, yes,
- 28:24Speaker 3: be ready. It's a little juicy, Veronica says, dear Chelsea.
- 28:28Speaker 3: The situation I'm in is quite a doozy for the
- 28:31Speaker 3: last six months. I was really unhappy in my relationship
- 28:34Speaker 3: of five years, and after talking to my therapist a
- 28:36Speaker 3: few months ago, I decided that it would be best
- 28:39Speaker 3: to end the relationship. As I started emotionally checking out,
- 28:43Speaker 3: I started flirting with his cousin that also happened to
- 28:45Speaker 3: be our roommate. For reference, I'm twenty five, my axes
- 28:49Speaker 3: twenty six, and his cousin is twenty nine. The three
- 28:52Speaker 3: of us were very close and would do a lot together,
- 28:54Speaker 3: and I saw the cousin as a really good friend.
- 28:57Speaker 3: After flirting, sneaking some kisses, and can professing love to
- 29:01Speaker 3: each other at the house, I couldn't take the guilt
- 29:03Speaker 3: and ended my relationship, then promptly moved out. After giving
- 29:07Speaker 3: myself some time to adjust and making sure my feelings
- 29:10Speaker 3: for his cousin were real, we decided to start seeing
- 29:13Speaker 3: each other. Things were going really well, but now he's
- 29:16Speaker 3: started to get very upset about how much this would
- 29:19Speaker 3: hurt his cousin and how he hates having to keep
- 29:21Speaker 3: our relationship a secret. I've told him multiple times that
- 29:25Speaker 3: you can't help who you fall for, and that together
- 29:27Speaker 3: we can make it work. But I still have the
- 29:29Speaker 3: fear that this is all going to blow up. I
- 29:31Speaker 3: don't know if just coming clean about everything would be
- 29:34Speaker 3: a good idea, or if we should wait a few
- 29:36Speaker 3: more months to give their family more time to get
- 29:38Speaker 3: over the breakup. My biggest concern is his family hating
- 29:41Speaker 3: him and exiling him over me. But I'm truly so
- 29:44Speaker 3: in love with him, and if he says we can
- 29:46Speaker 3: make it work, I want to believe him.
- 29:48Speaker 2: Help. I don't even know where to start. Veronica, Hi there.
- 29:53Speaker 1: Hi, Hi, hiiio. How are you guys? Good? Our special
- 29:58Speaker 1: guest today, our cat and Nat and so they're here today,
- 30:01Speaker 1: and you have Catherine, so you have four of us.
- 30:04Speaker 2: Yes, I need all the advice I can get.
- 30:06Speaker 1: I know, I know you do need advice. So you
- 30:10Speaker 1: were dating your previous boyfriend for how long?
- 30:13Speaker 2: Five years?
- 30:14Speaker 1: And you've been broken up for how long?
- 30:16Speaker 4: Going on close at ten months?
- 30:18Speaker 1: Now, Okay, okay, So this is going to be a
- 30:21Speaker 1: problem for a lot of people. But yeah, yeah, so
- 30:25Speaker 1: I get it. I mean it's pretty tricky. Their family
- 30:29Speaker 1: is going to be upset. Somebody is going to be upset.
- 30:33Speaker 4: I think. So, yeah, I would say that's a safe bet.
- 30:36Speaker 1: And is your boyfriend, your current boyfriend, who is your
- 30:39Speaker 1: ex boyfriend's cousin. Is he contemplating your relationship at all
- 30:44Speaker 1: or is he committed?
- 30:46Speaker 4: No, he has committed one hundred percent.
- 30:49Speaker 1: Okay, so you're both done, You're going to be together,
- 30:51Speaker 1: and you're going to tell his family at some.
- 30:53Speaker 4: Point, right, Yeah, it's just a matter of when.
- 30:56Speaker 1: Okay, Well, I guess I'll go first, and then you
- 30:59Speaker 1: girls can to hop on and give your opinion. I
- 31:02Speaker 1: would just say, the sooner you come clean, the sooner
- 31:05Speaker 1: everybody can acclimate to the new situation, and the sooner
- 31:10Speaker 1: everybody has to stop hiding. But be prepared for a
- 31:14Speaker 1: big thunderstorm that's gonna last for a long time, possibly potentially.
- 31:19Speaker 1: But I think you should probably try and get the
- 31:22Speaker 1: truth out sooner than later, and then, you know, the
- 31:24Speaker 1: sooner everyone can get over it.
- 31:26Speaker 9: Yeah.
- 31:27Speaker 1: And it should be you.
- 31:29Speaker 3: Yeah, it should be the boyfriend, It should be your family, Yeah,
- 31:33Speaker 3: you should be your boyfriend.
- 31:35Speaker 1: I don't know who should tell the boyfriend. Maybe who
- 31:37Speaker 1: should tell the boyfriend?
- 31:39Speaker 10: Yeah?
- 31:39Speaker 1: I mean who are you going to tell first? The boyfriend?
- 31:41Speaker 5: Right?
- 31:41Speaker 1: Your ex?
- 31:41Speaker 9: Yeah?
- 31:42Speaker 1: Yeah, that's pretty tricky. What do you girls think? What
- 31:45Speaker 1: does everyone think?
- 31:46Speaker 4: Do they have to know that you work together when
- 31:49Speaker 4: they all were together?
- 31:50Speaker 11: Does that all have to come out? So that's another topic.
- 31:55Speaker 11: We kind of agreed to never say that anything started
- 31:59Speaker 11: while the previous relationship was going on, but we think
- 32:04Speaker 11: that it would be really obvious that things would start
- 32:07Speaker 11: to click once the truth came out.
- 32:10Speaker 5: So yeah, like my initial lie, like, wait a few
- 32:15Speaker 5: months and then act like you guys ran into each
- 32:17Speaker 5: other and it was so nice to see each other
- 32:18Speaker 5: again and things started.
- 32:20Speaker 4: But that's when people always see. The truth always.
- 32:22Speaker 5: Freaking comes out, and then you're gonna have to not
- 32:25Speaker 5: only face that you're dating him, but now the lies
- 32:27Speaker 5: and all of the tears thing.
- 32:29Speaker 6: Vernica, it's never going to get easier, So waiting longer
- 32:32Speaker 6: is not gonna make it easier. So freaking rip it
- 32:34Speaker 6: and just be like, we're dating, we're in love, we're happy.
- 32:38Speaker 5: Is the family understanding people? Are they wild? Are we
- 32:42Speaker 5: gonna flip tables?
- 32:43Speaker 4: Pretty understanding people?
- 32:46Speaker 5: Oh well, it's a good start, right, I mean, did
- 32:50Speaker 5: you break up?
- 32:51Speaker 4: Was he heartbroken? Does he have your act and heartbroken?
- 32:55Speaker 11: I would say yes, he was very shocked and surprised.
- 32:59Speaker 4: Does he have new lady? Not yet? Hook him up.
- 33:02Speaker 4: We got to get him a new lady, and you
- 33:04Speaker 4: want that.
- 33:05Speaker 5: He's completely over you and so in love that he
- 33:07Speaker 5: doesn't care what's going on.
- 33:09Speaker 1: It would be great if you could wait until he
- 33:11Speaker 1: has a girlfriend.
- 33:13Speaker 4: That would be good.
- 33:14Speaker 1: Serious, then you won't care as much because it's just
- 33:16Speaker 1: going to be a shit show. You're It's exactly right.
- 33:18Speaker 1: The truth is gonna come out. They're gonna piece it
- 33:20Speaker 1: all together. And if you admit that you guys how
- 33:22Speaker 1: are flirting while you were with him, then that he's
- 33:25Speaker 1: never going to forgive you. He's going to hold on
- 33:27Speaker 1: to that for years, and that's just such bad news. Like,
- 33:30Speaker 1: I wish you could just find a lie.
- 33:33Speaker 2: Was there kind of some overlap there?
- 33:35Speaker 3: I know you said there were some stolen kisses, but like,
- 33:37Speaker 3: was there like sex overlap?
- 33:39Speaker 4: No?
- 33:40Speaker 1: No, no, no no, no, that's ken Yeah, good for you.
- 33:44Speaker 1: Don't say it, Yeah, just say there was flirting. Yeah, flirted,
- 33:48Speaker 1: and we knew that was wrong and I that's why
- 33:50Speaker 1: I broke up with you and the cousin, and I
- 33:52Speaker 1: knew it was wrong. And obviously, don't volunteer that there
- 33:56Speaker 1: were any kisses. If he asked anything happen? What you
- 33:59Speaker 1: take that as sex. No, No, we didn't have sex.
- 34:02Speaker 1: I didn't want to do that while we were dating.
- 34:04Speaker 1: I don't think you should admit the kissing behind the
- 34:06Speaker 1: sneaking kisses. I don't like that, and I'm advocating for
- 34:09Speaker 1: you to lie.
- 34:10Speaker 2: I am.
- 34:11Speaker 4: Yeah, those details might just hurt more than I to.
- 34:13Speaker 2: Know everything exactly.
- 34:15Speaker 3: You guys can play it off like you've been dating
- 34:17Speaker 3: for a few months because you I mean what you
- 34:19Speaker 3: said you did, which is moving out, giving yourself some
- 34:22Speaker 3: space to like figure out if this was really real.
- 34:25Speaker 3: Turns out it was ten months, you know what I mean.
- 34:27Speaker 3: You did a lot of the right things. You stopped
- 34:30Speaker 3: it when it was going a certain direction. And I think,
- 34:33Speaker 3: you know, having some white lives in there about not
- 34:36Speaker 3: having physical intimacy, I think that's just fine too.
- 34:39Speaker 4: Yeah, that's so nice that you're so in love.
- 34:42Speaker 11: Yeah, it's very refreshing compared to the last five years.
- 34:46Speaker 1: So well, don't fucking say that.
- 34:48Speaker 7: I don't tell him that, no, yeah, yeah, yeah, But
- 34:54Speaker 7: you know, you and your new boyfriend, if you can
- 34:57Speaker 7: weather this storm that you're going to about to get
- 35:00Speaker 7: into and listen, maybe it's not going to be a
- 35:01Speaker 7: big deal that would be ideal.
- 35:03Speaker 1: But I mean, it probably will be a big deal.
- 35:06Speaker 1: You know, people like to get.
- 35:07Speaker 4: His brother, you know, it could have been his brother.
- 35:09Speaker 4: At least it's just a cousin.
- 35:10Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, that's a good thing to bring up. Say,
- 35:13Speaker 1: at least I wasn't fucking your father, right, See how
- 35:16Speaker 1: he likes that.
- 35:17Speaker 4: I just say, it's you know better or your mother.
- 35:20Speaker 1: What if I was fucking your mother, that would be
- 35:22Speaker 1: a real shocker, you know, that would be a double whammy.
- 35:26Speaker 4: Yeah, you really got to see that. This is the
- 35:28Speaker 4: best case scenario. I feel like it is a bit
- 35:30Speaker 4: removed from your family. Yeah, not immediate I didn't go
- 35:34Speaker 4: for immediate family.
- 35:36Speaker 1: Yeah. Yeah. And I think also you have to be
- 35:40Speaker 1: very once this is out, be very sensitive to the
- 35:42Speaker 1: fact that people are going to have like their little
- 35:44Speaker 1: feelings about it, and then that will just eventually fade out. Yeah.
- 35:48Speaker 6: Just the family probably doesn't like the cousin that much.
- 35:50Speaker 6: You always talks about cousins, you know.
- 35:52Speaker 1: What I mean.
- 35:53Speaker 4: It might not even be that close. So maybe you're
- 35:55Speaker 4: in a great place.
- 35:56Speaker 1: And get a dan a test. Maybe they're not even cousins,
- 35:58Speaker 1: you know, Oh my gosh. A lot of surprises at
- 36:01Speaker 1: them something that really is true. It is. Yeah, I
- 36:04Speaker 1: get your twenty three and me, I bet you who knows?
- 36:07Speaker 1: Who knows?
- 36:08Speaker 4: Wow, things really took a churn for a positive here. Yeah.
- 36:13Speaker 3: But also like it's been ten months, hopefully it won't
- 36:15Speaker 3: be a big deal, right, it's been a while.
- 36:18Speaker 1: Yeah, it's been a while. Yeah, make sure you let
- 36:21Speaker 1: us know what happens. Okay, I'm very I'm very still,
- 36:23Speaker 1: and let us know when it happens. What happens, Yeah,
- 36:26Speaker 1: call us back.
- 36:27Speaker 4: Okay, I'll give you all the juicy details.
- 36:29Speaker 1: Thank you, Yes, perfect, Okay, good luck with that.
- 36:33Speaker 4: Thank you.
- 36:35Speaker 1: That's right, that's awesome. That's gonna be one fucked up situation.
- 36:40Speaker 4: Holy shit, I'm sorry heal.
- 36:42Speaker 1: The vibes from that family. Just by talking to her.
- 36:46Speaker 1: I know it's going to go badly.
- 36:48Speaker 3: The ancestors are gonna be pissed. We have another caller, gals.
- 36:56Speaker 3: This is Emily. Emily is forty six, She says, HI,
- 37:01Speaker 3: favorite podcast. I left an abusive marriage in two thousand
- 37:04Speaker 3: and seven. In two thousand and eight, I met a
- 37:07Speaker 3: guy who, fourteen years later, is still around. When we
- 37:10Speaker 3: got together, we bonded over our terrible marriages, and we
- 37:13Speaker 3: had kids, so our relationship became our private island. We
- 37:16Speaker 3: communicate well and became great travel buddies. We don't live
- 37:20Speaker 3: together and our kids are grown. I love my me time,
- 37:23Speaker 3: and so I'm on the fence about living together. When
- 37:26Speaker 3: I think about getting older and having a partner to
- 37:29Speaker 3: help me with things that happen when you get old,
- 37:30Speaker 3: like falling or getting sick, it seems like a good idea.
- 37:34Speaker 3: He just says maybe someday. Someday is fine. I'm a
- 37:38Speaker 3: weed smoker and super happy just to be living and
- 37:40Speaker 3: somewhat successful. I was once anxious and now moved to
- 37:44Speaker 3: a secure attachment style person, been in therapy since I
- 37:47Speaker 3: was a teen. I have so much life left to live,
- 37:50Speaker 3: and it would be easy to let another fifteen years
- 37:52Speaker 3: pass just as we are. He's still in my life,
- 37:55Speaker 3: but recently the relationship's been sort of fizzling. We're still
- 37:59Speaker 3: in contact, but not really together. Is it worth sticking
- 38:02Speaker 3: it out another couple of years or have we peaked
- 38:04Speaker 3: already and it's time to move on. I'm such an
- 38:06Speaker 3: easy going person. I'm worried I'm going to let life
- 38:09Speaker 3: pass me by. I find myself asking after fourteen years
- 38:13Speaker 3: together and not cohabitating. Should I be asking for more? Sincerely, Emily.
- 38:19Speaker 1: Hi, Emily, Hey, this is Kat and nat Are who
- 38:23Speaker 1: are special guests today. They're from Canada.
- 38:26Speaker 6: Hey, put is very legal here.
- 38:30Speaker 9: Oh nice? Perfect?
- 38:33Speaker 1: And you know Catherine because you probably spoke to her already.
- 38:36Speaker 9: She's amazing.
- 38:37Speaker 1: Okay, So you've been with your partner for fourteen years
- 38:40Speaker 1: and you say you're independent, but then you say that
- 38:42Speaker 1: you want to move in together. So it's a little confusing.
- 38:45Speaker 1: Which one do you want?
- 38:46Speaker 10: Okay, So it's a little confusing of a situation. We
- 38:50Speaker 10: did break up. It's sort of run its course. This
- 38:53Speaker 10: has been going on for a long time. But I
- 38:56Speaker 10: kind of like I'm growing up. I guess I think
- 38:58Speaker 10: I finally became an adult share kind of thing where
- 39:01Speaker 10: the same things we used to do, like he would
- 39:04Speaker 10: come over and we would hang out, we'd smoke, we
- 39:06Speaker 10: were you know, this great, perfect private island situation. And
- 39:11Speaker 10: then after it got old, it just, you know, it
- 39:14Speaker 10: kind of I got busy.
- 39:16Speaker 9: I like to do things outside.
- 39:18Speaker 10: He doesn't, and so I stopped doing all the things
- 39:22Speaker 10: that I would do to get ready to hang out
- 39:24Speaker 10: with him. And to me, that was a sign that
- 39:27Speaker 10: I shouldn't continue this. I should at least think about
- 39:31Speaker 10: what I need at this.
- 39:32Speaker 9: Point in my life. Now, I love him, we get
- 39:35Speaker 9: along great.
- 39:36Speaker 1: Sounds like you're describing your brother or your best friend.
- 39:38Speaker 1: Like it's the excitement is gone. It's over, so move
- 39:41Speaker 1: on and you need to find something else. You have
- 39:44Speaker 1: to be excited about the person that you are fucking.
- 39:46Speaker 1: You have to be excited and want to look good
- 39:49Speaker 1: from when they come over and look in the mirror
- 39:50Speaker 1: and actually care about what you look like. I know
- 39:53Speaker 1: that after fourteen years that's not typical, but so great.
- 39:56Speaker 1: You're not married to him, you have no reason to
- 39:58Speaker 1: hang on to this. You can move on and use
- 40:00Speaker 1: him as like you know, hows to have him in
- 40:02Speaker 1: your life as a friendship. It's so easy to see. Yeah,
- 40:05Speaker 1: for sure, it's that.
- 40:06Speaker 10: Appropriate to be friends. I guess I'm a little unclear
- 40:11Speaker 10: on what as long as you.
- 40:13Speaker 1: Don't have expectations from him, you know, if you can
- 40:15Speaker 1: transition into a friendship or you're not having sex with him,
- 40:18Speaker 1: because I think that's confusing and that muddies the waters.
- 40:21Speaker 10: We're not having sex, we haven't had sex, and like
- 40:23Speaker 10: you're yeah, I.
- 40:24Speaker 1: Mean, if it's okay to be friends with him. But
- 40:26Speaker 1: you know, sometimes when we have somebody old in our life,
- 40:28Speaker 1: it kind of prevents us from moving on to the
- 40:30Speaker 1: new person. So I don't know if that's happening, but
- 40:32Speaker 1: it sounds like what you're describing is pretty stale.
- 40:35Speaker 5: And I'm thinking, like when you said, you're forty six,
- 40:38Speaker 5: and you're already looking at a time where you get
- 40:41Speaker 5: old and all down.
- 40:42Speaker 4: You have, you are still so young.
- 40:45Speaker 1: There's a forty seven. I'm don't fight my jam up, Like,
- 40:48Speaker 1: what are you talking about? Forty is the new twenty five?
- 40:52Speaker 1: Like it doesn't matter?
- 40:53Speaker 9: Yeah, yeah, No. The whole point of that was, so
- 40:57Speaker 9: we do.
- 40:57Speaker 10: He has some stomach issues and he was in the
- 40:59Speaker 10: hot I didn't get a call for three days.
- 41:02Speaker 9: So that's the story there.
- 41:03Speaker 10: It's like we are getting older and like these are
- 41:06Speaker 10: things I should be thinking about.
- 41:08Speaker 9: But don't.
- 41:09Speaker 1: I disagree. You're sick? Why do you have to think
- 41:13Speaker 1: about that?
- 41:14Speaker 6: Yeah, men are going south before women too, So don't
- 41:17Speaker 6: hook up with the guy thinking he's taking care of you,
- 41:19Speaker 6: because you were definitely taking care of him before he
- 41:21Speaker 6: takes care of you.
- 41:22Speaker 4: You know what I mean? You got to look out
- 41:23Speaker 4: for you go younger yes.
- 41:26Speaker 2: Yeah, genius.
- 41:27Speaker 1: Yeah, it's go younger. And also you want your vibration here,
- 41:31Speaker 1: not settling. Like vibration when you settle it just is
- 41:34Speaker 1: like olymp biscuit.
- 41:36Speaker 6: Yeah, hire a nanny to babysit you when you get older,
- 41:39Speaker 6: you know what I mean.
- 41:40Speaker 4: Don't get married.
- 41:41Speaker 1: I would rather pay somebody to take care of me
- 41:44Speaker 1: in my life dying days than have any fucking child
- 41:47Speaker 1: or niece or nephew. And my nieces and nephews love
- 41:50Speaker 1: me and they would take care of me, but I
- 41:51Speaker 1: would rather pay somebody to do it so that when
- 41:54Speaker 1: I say, get me a velvetere on the rocks with
- 41:55Speaker 1: a splash of fucking soda on my deathbed, they're going
- 41:58Speaker 1: to do that.
- 41:59Speaker 2: Chelsea, Can I tell you where you can do that? Really? Well?
- 42:01Speaker 3: My sister works an elder law and she said that
- 42:04Speaker 3: what a lot of people are doing these days is
- 42:06Speaker 3: rather than going into assisted living, which is like ten
- 42:08Speaker 3: grand a month, they just go on cruises, cruise after
- 42:11Speaker 3: cruise after cruise, because there's more doctors per capita on
- 42:15Speaker 3: a cruise than at the nursing home.
- 42:17Speaker 1: Yeah, but saying you have to go on a fucking cruise, captine,
- 42:20Speaker 1: Fuck I'm not doing that. I would go on a
- 42:22Speaker 1: limited edition cruise, like there has to be less than
- 42:25Speaker 1: fifty people, and then I'll go great, and I have
- 42:27Speaker 1: to be able to throw each one of them overboard.
- 42:29Speaker 1: But anyway, you're fucking forty six, You're not. Everything's great,
- 42:34Speaker 1: have yeah.
- 42:34Speaker 9: Yeah, But can I ask you a question, Chelsea?
- 42:36Speaker 10: So I know you really love your alone time, and
- 42:39Speaker 10: I really identified with that. My kid went back to
- 42:42Speaker 10: school and I had the best day yesterday just by myself.
- 42:46Speaker 10: And so do you ever think about in that situation
- 42:49Speaker 10: being very comfortable?
- 42:50Speaker 9: Are you too comfortable? Or like, do you think that
- 42:53Speaker 9: you should?
- 42:53Speaker 1: You don't figure you don't need to overanalyze yourself. Whatever
- 42:56Speaker 1: feels good to you is the right thing. We are all.
- 42:59Speaker 1: We live in a society where it's a good thing
- 43:01Speaker 1: to like have introspection. But you don't have to be
- 43:03Speaker 1: overly analytical about every little move you make. There's no
- 43:06Speaker 1: such thing as I spend too much time AMers. The
- 43:08Speaker 1: other night, I went to bed at five nineteen pm. Okay,
- 43:12Speaker 1: anyone else would be like, are you depressed? I don't
- 43:14Speaker 1: give a fuck. I wanted. All I could think about
- 43:17Speaker 1: was going to bed. I looked at my sleep number
- 43:19Speaker 1: in the morning, my stats on my phone and it
- 43:21Speaker 1: said you fell asleep at five nineteen pm, And I
- 43:24Speaker 1: was like, what a victory lap, you know, like, yeah,
- 43:27Speaker 1: it's whatever, jealous, whatever you feel that you need is
- 43:31Speaker 1: what you need. Stop judging yourself.
- 43:33Speaker 2: And also it's okay if that changes.
- 43:35Speaker 1: Yes, as as it does. It changes all the time,
- 43:39Speaker 1: So whatever you're feeling is never gonna last forever. Like
- 43:42Speaker 1: you know, you're just in this mood right now, and
- 43:46Speaker 1: then you're gonna get out of that mood. But I
- 43:47Speaker 1: would say, you know, take a little separation from that
- 43:49Speaker 1: guy and his stomach.
- 43:52Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 43:53Speaker 3: My one question I think is why it's been such
- 43:56Speaker 3: a slow burn for you to make the change. Like
- 43:59Speaker 3: it's been like a year and a half of this
- 44:01Speaker 3: relationship dissolving and no sex, and you know you're still wondering,
- 44:06Speaker 3: like do I give it two more years?
- 44:08Speaker 2: What is that there?
- 44:13Speaker 1: Like everybody know that's a big silent gap. We're just
- 44:16Speaker 1: all waiting and while you figure out what your answer
- 44:19Speaker 1: is mm hmm.
- 44:21Speaker 9: The answer is I'm not waiting. I just this situation
- 44:25Speaker 9: is here.
- 44:25Speaker 10: I've moved on with my life and I think that
- 44:29Speaker 10: I need to put a cap on that relationship and
- 44:33Speaker 10: say like, look, we had a good run.
- 44:36Speaker 4: And you know, is he gonna feel the same way?
- 44:40Speaker 4: Just how does he feel he knows about this call?
- 44:42Speaker 4: Like he's caring.
- 44:45Speaker 6: Oh you know your answer, and we all know you
- 44:48Speaker 6: know your answer. You just wanted to tell you what
- 44:50Speaker 6: to do, but you know what to do. You just
- 44:52Speaker 6: said it. We didn't have to say anything. You just
- 44:54Speaker 6: wanted someone else to tell you. We want to cap
- 44:56Speaker 6: that off.
- 44:57Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, right, I think you should write Dad, I
- 44:59Speaker 1: should like, you should write that on your refrigerator. Who cares?
- 45:03Speaker 1: And that is applied to you? And what anyone else
- 45:06Speaker 1: might that possibly think of? You start with that mantra
- 45:09Speaker 1: every single day.
- 45:11Speaker 9: I love it.
- 45:12Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, you have a whole world, Like you're gonna
- 45:14Speaker 1: have a lot of men in your life. We just
- 45:16Speaker 1: sometimes have to clean out the garbage in our lives.
- 45:18Speaker 1: And not that you know any person is garbage, That's
- 45:20Speaker 1: not what I'm saying. It's just some people aren't adding
- 45:23Speaker 1: to our value, and some people are only there for
- 45:25Speaker 1: a short period of time and in your case, a
- 45:27Speaker 1: long period of time. But it's time to dust out
- 45:29Speaker 1: those cobwebs and get going with the rest of your life.
- 45:32Speaker 4: Yeah, this could be such an exciting time for you.
- 45:35Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 45:36Speaker 4: I actually it just became a grown up and you
- 45:38Speaker 4: just found yourself. Yeah, it's gonna be a good time.
- 45:42Speaker 10: I have a couple of people have hit me up
- 45:44Speaker 10: over the past year that I just haven't been ready
- 45:46Speaker 10: to date.
- 45:46Speaker 2: But yeah, you know, do it.
- 45:50Speaker 9: Yeah, I like being by myself right now, I gotta then.
- 45:53Speaker 4: Don't do it now.
- 45:54Speaker 2: You don't have to move in with them right away
- 45:56Speaker 2: right now, I don't want to.
- 45:58Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, yeah, just go with the flow. I remember
- 46:01Speaker 1: once I was hanging out with this group of people.
- 46:03Speaker 1: This is a long time ago, and I remember looking
- 46:05Speaker 1: around going this isn't going to cut it. These people
- 46:07Speaker 1: are not going to cut it. I'm too cool to
- 46:09Speaker 1: be in this group. And you have to remember that
- 46:12Speaker 1: about yourself. When you're too cool for a situation, go
- 46:16Speaker 1: and find people that are on your vibe, not people
- 46:18Speaker 1: that are on your like lower than your totally.
- 46:20Speaker 9: Yeah.
- 46:21Speaker 6: And if I could go back and dry hump people,
- 46:23Speaker 6: I would just dry hump like I would if I
- 46:25Speaker 6: were you. I would just dry hump and make out
- 46:27Speaker 6: with them. It would just send them thank you for
- 46:28Speaker 6: the night and move on.
- 46:30Speaker 2: I love that advice.
- 46:31Speaker 1: Try hamp is all that bad. Actually, dry humping is
- 46:34Speaker 1: going to probably make a comeback at some point.
- 46:36Speaker 4: It's ly fun.
- 46:37Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, because you could actually a woman could come
- 46:41Speaker 1: or climax from dry humping. Yeah, and to go yeah
- 46:46Speaker 1: or monkey a set of monkey bars.
- 46:51Speaker 10: I can't believe you put that in your book, by
- 46:53Speaker 10: the way, because like I think every woman was like,
- 46:56Speaker 10: that's okay that we did that.
- 46:57Speaker 1: What were oh yeah you girls. I used to master
- 47:00Speaker 1: over my pants when it was called the feeling when
- 47:02Speaker 1: I was growing up. I was so excited. I had
- 47:04Speaker 1: no idea because I didn't think you would never touch
- 47:06Speaker 1: your Pikachu directly. It would be over the jeans. But
- 47:08Speaker 1: if the seam of the jeans were the right seam,
- 47:10Speaker 1: a fixed seam, you could make yourself come even faster.
- 47:13Speaker 1: So I would lie down behind an automan. I'd get
- 47:15Speaker 1: home after school and I would just be just rubbing myself,
- 47:20Speaker 1: but I'd have my vagina covered by the automan in
- 47:23Speaker 1: case anyone walked into the living room and they would
- 47:25Speaker 1: just see me face down on the floor while I
- 47:27Speaker 1: had like rug burns on my chin. I was so
- 47:29Speaker 1: into myself. I could not get enough of myself. All
- 47:32Speaker 1: I would do was jerk off all the time, and
- 47:34Speaker 1: I didn't know I was masturbating. I mean, I knew
- 47:36Speaker 1: it was like a secret, but I was just like, oh,
- 47:38Speaker 1: all my girlfriends were doing it, and so I would
- 47:41Speaker 1: just be sitting there rubbing my vagina, rubbing my vagina.
- 47:43Speaker 1: And then finally we were at dinner one night and
- 47:45Speaker 1: I had a ladle and it was a whole family
- 47:47Speaker 1: dinner and I couldn't like, I couldn't even take a
- 47:50Speaker 1: break for dinner. If only fans were alive, then I
- 47:52Speaker 1: would have been on it. And so I had this
- 47:53Speaker 1: spoon in between my legs and I was rubbing myself
- 47:56Speaker 1: at the dinner table, and I obviously became red or
- 48:00Speaker 1: sweaty or something, and my mom goes, Chelsea, what you're
- 48:03Speaker 1: doing needs to be done in the privacy of your
- 48:05Speaker 1: own room. And then my brother Roy yells, she does
- 48:09Speaker 1: it all the time. And I looked around the table
- 48:13Speaker 1: and I was like, oh my god, everyone's known this
- 48:16Speaker 1: whole time that I've been fucking jerking off. Like I
- 48:18Speaker 1: thought I was sleuth, you know, Like I was like,
- 48:20Speaker 1: oh my god. And I was so devastated that I
- 48:24Speaker 1: did not masturbabeuntil I was in my forties because I
- 48:27Speaker 1: was so shamed about it.
- 48:28Speaker 2: I hate that, for you.
- 48:29Speaker 1: I hated that my brothers knew that I was jerking off.
- 48:33Speaker 4: Very common, it's very common.
- 48:35Speaker 1: Of course, it is, of course it is. I mean, yeah,
- 48:38Speaker 1: they're jerking off.
- 48:39Speaker 4: Yeah, you know the show Young Sheldon. I want Young
- 48:44Speaker 4: chel Oh.
- 48:45Speaker 1: Yeah, I know I need to make an I know
- 48:47Speaker 1: we were working on that once. Anyway, did you get
- 48:49Speaker 1: your advice that you came here for?
- 48:53Speaker 4: I did?
- 48:54Speaker 9: I love you so much?
- 48:55Speaker 4: Okay, ditching him?
- 48:56Speaker 1: All right? Good? Well, when you get a new boyfriend
- 48:58Speaker 1: or girlfriend or whatever you're in too obviously men right now,
- 49:01Speaker 1: but that can always change. Also, be open minded and
- 49:03Speaker 1: when you're in a new situation and you're feeling really
- 49:06Speaker 1: positive about your life, please send us a line and
- 49:08Speaker 1: let us know.
- 49:08Speaker 9: Yes, of course we'll do Hi. Thanks ladies.
- 49:15Speaker 4: Oh my god, didn't you even take a break for dinner?
- 49:18Speaker 1: No, what a productive call that was. That was great,
- 49:22Speaker 1: she needs. Isn't it funny that you can just talk
- 49:24Speaker 1: to someone and you can feel their energy just by
- 49:26Speaker 1: talking to them, like if it's high or low. I
- 49:29Speaker 1: wish that was more like measurable. You know, when people
- 49:32Speaker 1: talk about energy. I wish somebody could say, oh, you're
- 49:34Speaker 1: at an eighty, so that people would take it more seriously,
- 49:37Speaker 1: because like, the high vibes are so important, and there
- 49:40Speaker 1: are people that just bring you down. Yeah, you know,
- 49:43Speaker 1: and it's not their fault or that they're a bad person,
- 49:45Speaker 1: You're just not on the same frequency.
- 49:47Speaker 5: Yeah, you should have like a little thing above our
- 49:49Speaker 5: head that says like, well, like a halo, yeah thing.
- 49:53Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 49:54Speaker 3: I have one more quick question from Brittany. Brittany Britney
- 49:57Speaker 3: spears a.
- 49:58Speaker 2: Spellbo so maybe not a little different.
- 50:03Speaker 3: Dear Chelsea, I have a situation I've been wrestling with
- 50:05Speaker 3: for about a year. I'm thirty six years old and
- 50:08Speaker 3: never wanted kids until this last year. I married my
- 50:11Speaker 3: husband last year and we've been together for eight years total.
- 50:15Speaker 3: I really love him. We mostly have a great relationship.
- 50:18Speaker 3: We have three cats we adore. But the thing is
- 50:21Speaker 3: he does not want to have kids. We always agreed
- 50:23Speaker 3: about this until a year ago. I kept thinking that
- 50:26Speaker 3: the desire to have kids would just be a phase
- 50:28Speaker 3: and go away, but it keeps getting stronger. I'm really
- 50:32Speaker 3: confused and torn on what to do. The thought of
- 50:34Speaker 3: leaving makes me sad, and the fear of trying to
- 50:37Speaker 3: find a partner and have kids at my age seems scary.
- 50:40Speaker 3: I'm freezing my eggs so that helps take some of
- 50:42Speaker 3: the pressure off, but it's still a huge undertaking. I'm
- 50:45Speaker 3: worried that later on I'll have some regret about not
- 50:48Speaker 3: taking a chance on having a family of my own.
- 50:50Speaker 3: I'm also worried that I'll regret leaving a good marriage
- 50:53Speaker 3: and potentially fucking up my life with a crappy partner,
- 50:56Speaker 3: or the challenges of parenthood. How can I make this decision.
- 50:59Speaker 3: I'm going to therapy, but I feel stuck. The clock
- 51:02Speaker 3: is ticking, which is so stressful. Thanks for your help, Brittany.
- 51:06Speaker 1: So the husband decided he didn't want to have kids.
- 51:08Speaker 2: I think neither of him did. And then she just
- 51:10Speaker 2: like changed her mind.
- 51:11Speaker 5: Oh okay, and hit her and she just she felt
- 51:14Speaker 5: like she was maternal and she needed to have a baby.
- 51:17Speaker 4: Oh wow.
- 51:17Speaker 5: If she really has to decide what does she want
- 51:19Speaker 5: more him or the baby, because she actually doesn't.
- 51:21Speaker 4: She doesn't need him to make the baby. No, she
- 51:23Speaker 4: could do it alone.
- 51:24Speaker 3: But she doesn't need to find another partner to have
- 51:25Speaker 3: a baby either. If they did fizzle, like if they
- 51:28Speaker 3: broke up, like she can't have a baby on her own.
- 51:30Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 51:30Speaker 1: Yeah, but that's not gonna make her feel good. She
- 51:32Speaker 1: wants to have a husband and that baby. Yeah, so
- 51:36Speaker 1: you guys are parents, so you need to handle this.
- 51:38Speaker 6: It's happened to a lot of our friends actually, and
- 51:42Speaker 6: they broke up with the partner to have the baby.
- 51:46Speaker 6: Because you're gonna end up if you can't let it go.
- 51:50Speaker 6: You're gonna hate them, You're gonna resent them that they
- 51:52Speaker 6: never did it, and you will just find problems even
- 51:56Speaker 6: if there isn't a problem, you'll create problems. So it's
- 51:58Speaker 6: rather be honest and be like, I've changed my mind,
- 52:01Speaker 6: and maybe he doesn't know how. She's nervous to say
- 52:03Speaker 6: I really really want this, this is what he might
- 52:05Speaker 6: be like. Then I can get on board. You never
- 52:07Speaker 6: know if you're really honest with it.
- 52:08Speaker 5: Yeah, like maybe eight years ago when they started together,
- 52:11Speaker 5: they totally agreed on that, but he really wasn't as like,
- 52:14Speaker 5: he wasn't as determined to not have them as she was.
- 52:16Speaker 4: Now she's changed her mind. Who knows, maybe he has too.
- 52:19Speaker 1: Yeah yeah, yeah, I don't know.
- 52:22Speaker 6: Oh God, my husband did a one a third really
- 52:25Speaker 6: and it was a big conversation, and.
- 52:27Speaker 1: I was like, that's different.
- 52:29Speaker 6: I know, but I was a very big conversation. I
- 52:32Speaker 6: think for some people we have to be like this
- 52:33Speaker 6: is this is so important to me. I don't know
- 52:36Speaker 6: if I can keep being with you if I can't
- 52:37Speaker 6: do this, And then he might be like I never knew.
- 52:41Speaker 5: Let's maybe let's talk about it. I think about what
- 52:43Speaker 5: we're gonna do here.
- 52:44Speaker 6: Yeah, it's so much more than do I leave him
- 52:47Speaker 6: or do I get a baby? Because she might not
- 52:49Speaker 6: even be able to have a baby. You know, like
- 52:51Speaker 6: there's so many ex factors. It's so hard to say
- 52:55Speaker 6: leave them and go get a new partner and a baby.
- 52:57Speaker 6: Maybe there's wiggle room in two years.
- 53:00Speaker 4: Or you know, if she's.
- 53:02Speaker 6: Freezing his eggs, does he not know something's coming up?
- 53:05Speaker 6: Or is she doing it in secret?
- 53:06Speaker 1: Well, she's freezing her eggs. Yeah, I think you should know.
- 53:09Speaker 8: Well, man don't have eggs. FYI, I did you know that?
- 53:14Speaker 8: I mean her her egg Yeah, and she may be
- 53:17Speaker 8: doing it alone. It's expensive to do that too, yeah,
- 53:20Speaker 8: Canada it is.
- 53:21Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 53:22Speaker 1: I think you have to be like, if you really
- 53:23Speaker 1: are thinking about this, a you have to wanted to
- 53:25Speaker 1: have that baby one hundred and fifty percent. You have
- 53:27Speaker 1: to be committed to that. And if you are that
- 53:29Speaker 1: committed to that baby and that's more important to you
- 53:32Speaker 1: than your husband is right now, then yeah, you've got
- 53:35Speaker 1: to leave him and go pursue that. But I mean
- 53:38Speaker 1: you have to really know that you want to do that,
- 53:41Speaker 1: not just be curious about being a mother. I think,
- 53:44Speaker 1: you know, sometimes I know how strong a maternal instinct
- 53:47Speaker 1: can be, at least I hear about it. But uh,
- 53:50Speaker 1: I think you have to examine really how important that
- 53:52Speaker 1: is to you, and then that's your decision right there.
- 53:54Speaker 6: You know, Yeah, did you have like a whoopsie, like
- 53:56Speaker 6: you know, get unofficially inciminated and then be like, oh
- 53:59Speaker 6: my no bad.
- 54:01Speaker 1: Well yeah, but also we're also married. Yeah, I mean
- 54:04Speaker 1: I'm not against that, like.
- 54:10Speaker 2: Them into a baby, Okay we did?
- 54:13Speaker 1: Okay, Well that's yeah, that's your advice. What's her name name?
- 54:17Speaker 4: I think that's a good idea. That's just that I
- 54:20Speaker 4: would do that.
- 54:21Speaker 6: Yeah, if I was a manipulative person, that was something
- 54:23Speaker 6: I would think about.
- 54:24Speaker 2: Or just you know, is that how you wand up
- 54:26Speaker 2: with baby number three?
- 54:28Speaker 1: No?
- 54:29Speaker 4: Locked them in? You know, wrap my legs, you're not
- 54:32Speaker 4: leaving Squeeze.
- 54:33Speaker 3: Well, let's take a quick break and we'll come back
- 54:36Speaker 3: to wrap up with caten At and Chelsea, and we're back.
- 54:44Speaker 1: We're back.
- 54:45Speaker 3: Well, Caten, this is the part of the show. I
- 54:47Speaker 3: want to know if you'd like any advice from Chelsea.
- 54:51Speaker 6: Well, we have an ongoing argument that maybe the two
- 54:53Speaker 6: of you and Chelsea could settle for us. We have
- 54:55Speaker 6: an argument on whether of you and Chelsea. Yeah, whatever,
- 54:59Speaker 6: you know, I'm saying, Okay, I think.
- 55:01Speaker 4: We just we've never really agreed.
- 55:02Speaker 5: I don't know if we have a misunderstanding and we
- 55:04Speaker 5: actually have to show each other what we mean. But
- 55:07Speaker 5: I take soap and I wash underneath and all over
- 55:12Speaker 5: my vagina, like I actually take the soap in my hands,
- 55:14Speaker 5: and not in like not in the hole of course,
- 55:17Speaker 5: not the hole in the oven, in like, all underneath.
- 55:20Speaker 5: And she says that you shouldn't put she read, and
- 55:22Speaker 5: you don't put soap there because it's self.
- 55:23Speaker 4: Inside, not in the hole in the lip.
- 55:26Speaker 1: Yes, all in this in the list. And I don't
- 55:29Speaker 1: think you're I'm pretty rough. When I wash my beaver
- 55:31Speaker 1: in the shower, that's obviously the first spot I liked it,
- 55:34Speaker 1: but I don't put the soap bar like I guess
- 55:37Speaker 1: I probably do with something similar. I do know that
- 55:40Speaker 1: you're not supposed to do that. You're not supposed to
- 55:43Speaker 1: put soap inside the lips any of that. Your vagina
- 55:46Speaker 1: is a self cleaning mechanism. It means itself. Yes, are
- 55:50Speaker 1: you serious? Yeah, so you've been raped soap around it,
- 55:53Speaker 1: But like, I don't think it's gonna hurt you. I mean,
- 55:55Speaker 1: it's supposed to affect your p H balance, is what
- 55:58Speaker 1: I know. Yeah, yeah, but I'm not But I don't
- 56:00Speaker 1: use a bar of soap. I used pump soap, right,
- 56:03Speaker 1: is that what you use? So you're not okay? So,
- 56:05Speaker 1: I mean, I just don't think it's that big of
- 56:07Speaker 1: a deal. I think if you actually put it inside you,
- 56:11Speaker 1: then it's a big deal. But maso manos, as they
- 56:13Speaker 1: say in it' Spana.
- 56:14Speaker 3: If you're not getting any East infections, you're probably doing
- 56:17Speaker 3: it fine.
- 56:17Speaker 5: Yeah right, Yeah, everything's been fine so far. I just
- 56:20Speaker 5: like all dark moist places need to be. I also
- 56:24Speaker 5: have ibs, so that would be different. You know ibs
- 56:27Speaker 5: down there.
- 56:27Speaker 1: You do definitely stuck my finger in my butthole to
- 56:30Speaker 1: wash it. Really, Yeah, if there's a situation that needs cleansing.
- 56:35Speaker 2: Yeah, inside the hole.
- 56:37Speaker 1: Yeah, just to make sure like everything's there that is
- 56:40Speaker 1: supposed to be there and nothing extra. Great. Yeah, only
- 56:43Speaker 1: when I've had an incident.
- 56:46Speaker 5: Oh my gosh, if I even go anywhere near that thing,
- 56:49Speaker 5: it's just gonna be a disaster.
- 56:51Speaker 1: Really with soap, I mean, don't you want it to
- 56:53Speaker 1: be cleaned your butthole?
- 56:56Speaker 4: You can't have any butt play whatsoever.
- 56:58Speaker 6: Her bowels live on the whole, like you know.
- 57:02Speaker 1: I saw a video the other day about anal sex
- 57:05Speaker 1: and it says when men go into other men there's
- 57:08Speaker 1: three sphincter holes. I had learned that there were two
- 57:10Speaker 1: sphincter holes. So when you have anal sex, there's one
- 57:14Speaker 1: entryway and then there's a second entryway, and if they're
- 57:17Speaker 1: really well endowed, there is a third entryway. But I
- 57:20Speaker 1: think that's only applicable for men because they have a
- 57:23Speaker 1: scrotum and we do not, so, but for us, there
- 57:27Speaker 1: are two anal entries one and then boom boom, depending
- 57:30Speaker 1: on how big the pino is. I didn't either, So
- 57:33Speaker 1: there's ship wait, there's there's comes out of one. No,
- 57:36Speaker 1: there's like as deep as it goes then there's like another.
- 57:39Speaker 1: It's like being in like a labyrinth. There's one one
- 57:44Speaker 1: that's the entryway, and then if you have a big
- 57:46Speaker 1: enough penis, there is a second anal opening in the
- 57:50Speaker 1: same tunnel.
- 57:52Speaker 6: I think she has one, and that's the problem because
- 57:54Speaker 6: I feel like it just drops and with like where
- 57:56Speaker 6: we have to run the red like there's no time.
- 57:58Speaker 5: It's like where she's sh pants or like I have
- 58:01Speaker 5: a birth effect. And my mom never told me I
- 58:03Speaker 5: only have one laveryway.
- 58:06Speaker 1: Ye should not travel with a thermoss in case you
- 58:09Speaker 1: need to take a shy in it. Okay, Well, on
