- 0:11Speaker 1: ninety six dot com. But best question in the subject line, well,
- 0:15Speaker 1: answer just about anything. This one came in from Oh
- 0:20Speaker 1: it's our friend Jimmy Johns from the chat room. Hello, Jimmy, says, Hi,
- 0:25Speaker 1: Lords and Captain Katie. I love your food takes and
- 0:28Speaker 1: want to know more of your food hacks and secrets. Carrie.
- 0:32Speaker 1: I still use the microwave the squeaky cheese for a
- 0:35Speaker 1: few seconds before eating it. It's life changing. Yes, keep
- 0:38Speaker 1: teaching me O wise one, Gina, what are your favorite
- 0:42Speaker 1: fast food hacks? I'm gonna throw tod In on this
- 0:43Speaker 1: because he's a fast food what's the best time to
- 0:47Speaker 1: get an order?
- 0:48Speaker 2: One?
- 0:48Speaker 1: Are the freshest places in town? You seem to know
- 0:51Speaker 1: all of these? So yeah, hmm, you want me to start?
- 0:56Speaker 3: Yeah, go ahead, Okay, I don't have any fast food hacks.
- 1:00Speaker 2: Cook Kerry Jackson, Gena and I have got your covered
- 1:02Speaker 2: on the fast food.
- 1:03Speaker 1: Go ahead and say you can think of like you're cooking.
- 1:05Speaker 1: I got a couple of things, Uh, so I like
- 1:10Speaker 1: to have lunch at ten thirty. Yeah, and there are
- 1:13Speaker 1: places that start serving lunch at ten thirty, like Bados
- 1:19Speaker 1: is twenty four hours. I can get Taketo's at ten thirty,
- 1:23Speaker 1: which is nice because for most people that's not lunchtime,
- 1:25Speaker 1: but for me, that's lunchtime, which is nice to know. Now,
- 1:29Speaker 1: if you go to Chick fil A, they start serving
- 1:32Speaker 1: lunch at ten thirty, But you don't want to get
- 1:35Speaker 1: lunch at ten thirty at Chick fil A because they
- 1:38Speaker 1: have made the nuggets earlier and they're using in them
- 1:41Speaker 1: in their breakfast items and they've been sitting around a while.
- 1:44Speaker 1: You want Chick fil.
- 1:45Speaker 2: A give us some time, yeah, like stage, like noon noon.
- 1:50Speaker 1: They're going to be hot and fresh. Now, the flip
- 1:53Speaker 1: side of that with Chick fil A is you have
- 1:55Speaker 1: to go to Chick fil A. Well, the flip side
- 1:58Speaker 1: of it is sure, if you go at ten thirty,
- 2:02Speaker 1: they've often pre made a bunch of breakfast stuff, and
- 2:05Speaker 1: if you order lunch, sometimes they'll throw in like a
- 2:08Speaker 1: breakfast sandwich because they've because they're gonna get rid of
- 2:12Speaker 1: them anyway, and you'll get a free sandwich. Sometimes you can't.
- 2:18Speaker 2: Wow, she's a damned genius. Wow, you'll like this one. Gina,
- 2:22Speaker 2: being a fellow connoisseur of fast food, h there's always
- 2:27Speaker 2: this big debate who has the best French fries? Sure,
- 2:30Speaker 2: and I'm gonna we're gonna just forget about all the
- 2:32Speaker 2: local places. We're going straight to the fast food chains.
- 2:35Speaker 2: Who's got the best damned fries? Now, some will say, well,
- 2:38Speaker 2: Wendy's or mcdonald'sor whatever. But if you want them hot
- 2:41Speaker 2: and fresh, and I'm not kidding you, without fail, every
- 2:44Speaker 2: single time we've visited Wiener Schnitzel, they're hot and fresh.
- 2:49Speaker 2: They are hot and fresh and delicious. Okay, they're just
- 2:53Speaker 2: so and they're not nothing fancy. We're not talking about elegantly,
- 2:57Speaker 2: you know. It's just crappy shoe string fries, salt and
- 3:01Speaker 2: they're oily and just what you want in a fry.
- 3:04Speaker 2: You don't want to get all fancy. You don't think
- 3:06Speaker 2: of friesze. No, they're so good and they're always always,
- 3:11Speaker 2: and we go to the one, well, we live in Pharmaca,
- 3:13Speaker 2: we will drive to the one in north in Harrisville.
- 3:16Speaker 3: Really, honey, We're going.
- 3:19Speaker 2: To Wiener Schnitzel tonight. And it's like, all right, and
- 3:21Speaker 2: you go get a you know, a chili dog and
- 3:23Speaker 2: some fries. It is so good.
- 3:24Speaker 3: I love a hot fry, as we know.
- 3:27Speaker 2: That's your challenge, Gina, And I've I've visited. Uh, this
- 3:32Speaker 2: is so telling. I visited the one in Salt Lake,
- 3:35Speaker 2: over by the Costco one in North Dogon. We've even
- 3:37Speaker 2: been the one in in Orum.
- 3:39Speaker 1: You know, I I have to go to Costco today,
- 3:41Speaker 1: so I will take you up on.
- 3:44Speaker 2: Go get a corn dog, deeed corn dogs. Gina, you're weird.
- 3:46Speaker 3: Sure you're you're calling her.
- 3:52Speaker 1: To Tod's Todd Todd in any other circle is the
- 3:55Speaker 1: weird eater unless he's in a room with you.
- 3:57Speaker 2: But I'm with you if I'm getting a chili dog,
- 3:59Speaker 2: I don't want the damn cheese. I just like the chilling.
- 4:01Speaker 3: Katie says. The Del Taco off thirty two hundred West
- 4:04Speaker 3: is the best one.
- 4:05Speaker 2: Oh okay, I don't. Del Taco makes a damn good
- 4:08Speaker 2: Prince says.
- 4:10Speaker 3: The dude who works the window at two am is great.
- 4:12Speaker 3: This is good to know.
- 4:14Speaker 1: That is good to know, Okay, Carrie, not fast food,
- 4:17Speaker 1: but not kitchen hack kitchen hacks.
- 4:20Speaker 3: Okay, now he mentioned the squeaky squeaky cheese. What is
- 4:25Speaker 3: it called the mic curR curd? You put the curd
- 4:28Speaker 3: in the microwave for a few seconds and let it melt.
- 4:31Speaker 3: Absolutely fabulous. Another one, of course, is my Thanksgiving hack,
- 4:36Speaker 3: or anytime you have stuffing.
- 4:39Speaker 1: His stuffing isn't just for thanks You.
- 4:41Speaker 3: Get out the next day, get out that waffle iron.
- 4:44Speaker 3: Be sure to you know, if you're using cooking, spray
- 4:46Speaker 3: spray it down. I just use butter. But you get
- 4:51Speaker 3: the You get the stuffing in the in the waffle iron,
- 4:55Speaker 3: let it cook. It takes a little bit longer than
- 4:57Speaker 3: the waffle, but it'll come out nice and crispy. Oh
- 5:01Speaker 3: and then you put you treat it just like a waffle.
- 5:04Speaker 2: Really butter and syrup. Okay, you'll thank me later, and
- 5:07Speaker 2: safer you mix, you will thank me later. I'm gonna
- 5:11Speaker 2: try this now. I kind of want to take all
- 5:13Speaker 2: of the Thanksgiving leftovers and just throw you know, potatoes
- 5:17Speaker 2: and gravy and turkey and throw it in the waffle iron.
- 5:19Speaker 3: Town. The other one I told you about is if
- 5:22Speaker 3: you're making a grilled cheese, instead of using butter on
- 5:26Speaker 3: the bread on the outside, mayonnaise, which sounds weird.
- 5:31Speaker 2: I know right, Oh, we do that.
- 5:33Speaker 3: We do that and if you're really daring, best foods
- 5:36Speaker 3: made or not best foods. But it's a miracle whip
- 5:38Speaker 3: miracle because it gives that the little zip.
- 5:41Speaker 1: Going for it, tangy zip of miracle.
- 5:44Speaker 3: Tangy zip of miracle whip. And and then finally this, Uh,
- 5:47Speaker 3: I used to do this all the time when I
- 5:49Speaker 3: made ice coffee at home. Is that you know, in
- 5:53Speaker 3: the morning you're gonna make fresh coffee, take that leftover
- 5:57Speaker 3: coffee that's still in there, put it in an icy
- 6:00Speaker 3: tube tray, and then put it in the freezer, and
- 6:03Speaker 3: then later you have yourself your iced.
- 6:06Speaker 2: Coffee and it won't water down the flavor.
- 6:08Speaker 3: With the coffee ice cubes.
- 6:11Speaker 1: That's genius.
- 6:12Speaker 3: Actually, So there you go. That is genius. I hope
- 6:15Speaker 3: I can help.
- 6:16Speaker 2: We used to do that with at our house. We
- 6:19Speaker 2: used to do that with Coca cola. We'd make Coca
- 6:21Speaker 2: cola ice cubes.
- 6:22Speaker 3: Oh, there you go for a coke cloat.
- 6:25Speaker 2: You don't want to water it down, you want you know.
- 6:27Speaker 1: Yeah, thend US your questions radio from hell at X
