- 0:00Speaker 1: This is the Ben and Ashley I Almost Famous podcast
- 0:03Speaker 1: with iHeartRadio.
- 0:05Speaker 2: Hey guys, welcome to the Almost Simis podcast. Today we
- 0:08Speaker 2: are breaking down episode three of Joey's season, and I
- 0:13Speaker 2: know Ben is gonna grill me on my friend Sidney
- 0:15Speaker 2: because she is basically the entire show.
- 0:19Speaker 3: There's a big storyline, Ashley.
- 0:21Speaker 2: Cannot wait only crap only.
- 0:23Speaker 4: I cannot wait to hear all of your opinions on it.
- 0:26Speaker 4: I can't wait to probably just battle with you back
- 0:28Speaker 4: and forth. Let's get started before we die into Sydney,
- 0:31Speaker 4: because I do feel like it's going to take up
- 0:32Speaker 4: a majority of our episode.
- 0:33Speaker 2: Because it's peppered through the entire episode.
- 0:36Speaker 4: Sure, but we're gonna save all of it until the
- 0:39Speaker 4: very end because we'll break all those situations. Okay, we'll
- 0:42Speaker 4: start with the group date. It's a great group date,
- 0:47Speaker 4: I think because it brings in the golden ladies. I
- 0:49Speaker 4: do think it was fun. I also like this group date, Ashley,
- 0:53Speaker 4: because I do believe these kind of dates show the
- 0:55Speaker 4: personalities of the contestant.
- 0:59Speaker 3: Like this date.
- 1:00Speaker 4: It doesn't have to be it doesn't have to be grandiose,
- 1:03Speaker 4: it doesn't have to cost a lot of money. It
- 1:05Speaker 4: doesn't have to be anything crazy or exciting. But what
- 1:07Speaker 4: I do love is the fact that I feel like
- 1:09Speaker 4: I know these women better after this date than I
- 1:14Speaker 4: ever would if they dressed up in wedding gowns.
- 1:16Speaker 2: Yes, I love this date. This is a date that
- 1:20Speaker 2: you love to watch on TV. But when you're told
- 1:22Speaker 2: that you have to go on a date like this,
- 1:24Speaker 2: you're like, oh my gosh, I have to come up
- 1:26Speaker 2: with the talent. I have to answer a Q and
- 1:28Speaker 2: A on the spot in front of a live audience.
- 1:32Speaker 2: I have to model oh my gosh, no, thank you.
- 1:35Speaker 2: But it does tell so much about their personality, and
- 1:38Speaker 2: I think that Joey is able to tell who he
- 1:41Speaker 2: likes a lot based on a date like this, And
- 1:43Speaker 2: then it gives you a lot of content to talk
- 1:45Speaker 2: about in the night portion of the date as well.
- 1:48Speaker 4: The couple thoughts here for you. These dates are fun. Yes,
- 1:52Speaker 4: they make you nervous. But the thing that I think
- 1:55Speaker 4: when I was a bachelor, or when I'd have to
- 1:58Speaker 4: participate in a date like this as a cant, you
- 2:01Speaker 4: just kind.
- 2:01Speaker 3: Of got it.
- 2:01Speaker 4: If you don't have like a tangible skill that you
- 2:03Speaker 4: just know you could rock the room with, you just
- 2:06Speaker 4: want to do whatever, like just be confident, being silly, right,
- 2:09Speaker 4: singing a song if you're not a good singer, playing
- 2:12Speaker 4: a musical instrument, if you don't really know how to
- 2:14Speaker 4: play juggling the best you can, if you really only
- 2:17Speaker 4: know how to juggle one ball at a time, Like,
- 2:19Speaker 4: just do something up there so that you're not like
- 2:23Speaker 4: showing anger or showing like like that. Oh I don't
- 2:26Speaker 4: want to do it because I'm not good at anything,
- 2:28Speaker 4: Like just do whatever, be goofy. So it's really hard,
- 2:32Speaker 4: I think, to mess up these dates because you just
- 2:35Speaker 4: want to see people have a good time. The thing
- 2:38Speaker 4: I didn't like about this thing is going off what
- 2:41Speaker 4: I just said, and.
- 2:43Speaker 3: We will bring up Sydney here because this isn't really
- 2:45Speaker 3: a part of the drama.
- 2:46Speaker 4: Yeah, it felt like she got un rightfully hated for
- 2:51Speaker 4: her response when she said I faked it.
- 2:54Speaker 2: I was so dumb, like, like, why are people mad.
- 2:57Speaker 3: That she's faked it?
- 2:58Speaker 4: It hasn't most I mean, I'm sure Jessica has Like
- 3:00Speaker 4: I'm sure Jessica's like yeah, that's all the time, Like
- 3:04Speaker 4: and I won't even care, like I get it, Like
- 3:07Speaker 4: I'm sorry.
- 3:08Speaker 2: That was just them trying to foreshadow like her saying
- 3:14Speaker 2: things that people would disagree with, but I think like,
- 3:17Speaker 2: in reality, nobody really disagrees with that. And then if
- 3:21Speaker 2: she had said she had said no, I haven't, then
- 3:25Speaker 2: wouldn't she be like then wouldn't everybody be like, oh, liar,
- 3:28Speaker 2: oh you're oh okay, yeah, so you're that great?
- 3:31Speaker 3: That you my question?
- 3:33Speaker 4: Yeah, that's where I want to get some insight because
- 3:36Speaker 4: I heard it and I was like, Okay, it's unfortunate
- 3:39Speaker 4: that you've had to But is it that it's not
- 3:42Speaker 4: rare and it's not like it like that's a thing,
- 3:46Speaker 4: right or am I just oblivious?
- 3:48Speaker 2: It's like Harry met Sally Staple. It's like everybody that's
- 3:51Speaker 2: like a thing. I'm pretty sure you want me to
- 3:54Speaker 2: like look it up on Google because I'm pretty sure
- 3:56Speaker 2: the stat will to come right right up. How many
- 4:01Speaker 2: women up to eighty percent? Is okay a Time magazine?
- 4:08Speaker 4: This isn't the silent minority. This is the majority of
- 4:11Speaker 4: people saying, hey, we've all been there.
- 4:14Speaker 3: So one that was weird too. I felt like.
- 4:17Speaker 4: Sidney got unrightfully hated for her performance. I mean, I
- 4:23Speaker 4: don't know if she's really taking it very serious, if
- 4:25Speaker 4: she was and she was trying really hard to be impressive.
- 4:28Speaker 4: Then I could see her people be like this a
- 4:29Speaker 4: little awkward. But for me, I'm like she was just
- 4:31Speaker 4: trying to do something that she knew how to do
- 4:35Speaker 4: in front of people. It felt like people were judging
- 4:38Speaker 4: her way too critically for doing what everybody else was doing,
- 4:44Speaker 4: getting on stage and trying to do something entertaining.
- 4:47Speaker 2: I think that there was I don't think we saw
- 4:51Speaker 2: the whole thing. I'm sure people were far kinder in
- 4:53Speaker 2: real life than what it seemed like. And the only
- 4:56Speaker 2: reason it seemed so cringey to us was because the
- 4:59Speaker 2: audience reacted seems so quiet. But I really don't think
- 5:02Speaker 2: the audience reaction was so quiet. And if it indeed
- 5:04Speaker 2: was like those people are.
- 5:06Speaker 4: Yeah, like clap for anybody, They're trying to try to
- 5:09Speaker 4: get up there and do it. So I guess without
- 5:12Speaker 4: us knowing, you know, which is kind of in my
- 5:15Speaker 4: theme here, without us knowing, I would just say it
- 5:19Speaker 4: was she she got the row into the deal there.
- 5:22Speaker 4: If for what it looked like on TV, which was
- 5:24Speaker 4: that it was very awkward and very quiet for her,
- 5:27Speaker 4: then I would say that was me. Uh, that was
- 5:30Speaker 4: not nice. She was not on the meaning of that
- 5:33Speaker 4: uh moment. She was actually like that was sad. It
- 5:38Speaker 4: was a very sad moment to watch. It was hard
- 5:40Speaker 4: to watch. I felt for her, I know, I know.
- 5:44Speaker 2: I was like, Okay, so your cheer, you don't look
- 5:49Speaker 2: like a villain, but it's cringe tov.
- 5:53Speaker 4: Yeah, I mean it was. But all of them were
- 5:55Speaker 4: a little awkward, right, I mean there was so many of.
- 5:58Speaker 2: Even yeah, like it Leena singing like they made it
- 6:01Speaker 2: seem like she was Katherine McPhee up there or something,
- 6:04Speaker 2: and it's like, guys, very.
- 6:08Speaker 4: Yed. There was a Duena singing, I forget all the
- 6:12Speaker 4: other acts, but like, there wasn't really one that was like,
- 6:16Speaker 4: I am so good at this thing. I cannot wait
- 6:18Speaker 4: to show you how good I am. It was like,
- 6:19Speaker 4: we're gonna get up here and try our best to
- 6:22Speaker 4: just be decent and that's all. And that would probably
- 6:26Speaker 4: all Joey wanted. It's just like, let's have fun with this.
- 6:29Speaker 4: Let's not make this weirder than I already is.
- 6:32Speaker 2: What do you think about Lexi and the kiss? The
- 6:33Speaker 2: kiss the greatest kisser out there.
- 6:37Speaker 4: I don't like any moment where a lead kisses somebody
- 6:41Speaker 4: in front of the other people.
- 6:42Speaker 2: Yeah, I don't like it.
- 6:44Speaker 4: I just don't think it's helpful. I always try to
- 6:48Speaker 4: never do that.
- 6:49Speaker 2: So you would think that that moment was definitely more
- 6:53Speaker 2: right or in bad taste.
- 6:55Speaker 3: Maybe not even villainus, because I get it, like.
- 6:58Speaker 2: In bad taste. But I didn't have I didn't I
- 7:00Speaker 2: don't have I didn't have an issue with it because
- 7:02Speaker 2: she did deliver the moment with such confidence that I
- 7:05Speaker 2: was like, I can't hate this girl for this, Like
- 7:07Speaker 2: she's she's kind of rocking the moment. But it is hard.
- 7:12Speaker 4: Yeah, I know as a contestant, I would have been
- 7:14Speaker 4: a lot more affected by that moment than I would
- 7:17Speaker 4: have Sidney's moment.
- 7:18Speaker 2: Yeah right, Yeah, a lot more effected.
- 7:21Speaker 3: It would be living in my head. I'd be thinking
- 7:23Speaker 3: about a night.
- 7:24Speaker 2: But of course the audience is going to go wild
- 7:26Speaker 2: for that, and so are the Golden Ladies.
- 7:28Speaker 4: Yeah, the Golden Lads are great as always, They're legends.
- 7:32Speaker 4: They're great over this weekend too, They're very excited about them.
- 7:36Speaker 2: Was there this weekend Kathy and Susan oh okay, So
- 7:40Speaker 2: they were Susan oh okay, just the most outrageous of
- 7:43Speaker 2: them all.
- 7:44Speaker 3: Yeah, they're so fun, they're so wild, they're the best.
- 7:48Speaker 4: Actually, Kathy and I sat down for a really great
- 7:50Speaker 4: conversation as well, and that was that's powerful. Kathy is
- 7:55Speaker 4: a is a fan of the Almost Days podcast, a
- 7:58Speaker 4: great supporter of us. What good words of encouragement for
- 8:02Speaker 4: the two of us. But she's she was great. They're
- 8:06Speaker 4: so fun.
- 8:06Speaker 3: I could hang out with them all the time, but
- 8:09Speaker 3: I'd be exhausted, honestly.
- 8:11Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 8:12Speaker 2: Oh, they're like energy sucks because they're just non stop.
- 8:15Speaker 3: Chanting so much energy.
- 8:17Speaker 4: Like they could go from like I would walk out
- 8:20Speaker 4: of my room at six thirty in the morning and
- 8:22Speaker 4: there'd be Susan, and then at midnight we're still all
- 8:25Speaker 4: out and I'm like, I don't know how this is happening.
- 8:27Speaker 4: I don't I don't like this. This is so exhausting
- 8:30Speaker 4: for me. But they're ready to go back again.
- 8:32Speaker 2: I feel like it's like a little bit of a
- 8:33Speaker 2: fame high though you know.
- 8:36Speaker 3: It's it's a high on something and it's awesome. It's
- 8:38Speaker 3: so great.
- 8:40Speaker 4: Okay, So then we go into the group date cocktail party.
- 8:44Speaker 4: This group date cocktail party is where the dramas kind
- 8:47Speaker 4: of starts. Yeah, so actually, actually actually I'm going to
- 8:52Speaker 4: ask to yeh. Actually, Ashley, I'm going to ask to
- 8:56Speaker 4: skip the cocktail parties now because I know we're going
- 8:59Speaker 4: to get back to it, becase, because what I want
- 9:00Speaker 4: to do is walk through the timeline here of the
- 9:03Speaker 4: Maria Sidney kind of relationship and the argument if I'm
- 9:08Speaker 4: start to finish, so actually go back and we'll start
- 9:10Speaker 4: at this cocktail party later. They did have a cocktail party.
- 9:15Speaker 2: Is there anything else worth mentioning on drama related with them?
- 9:19Speaker 4: Not really, other than the fact that the rose of
- 9:22Speaker 4: the cocktail party, the rose that went to Kelsey. That's
- 9:27Speaker 4: a big deal. It's kind of we'l see I feel
- 9:30Speaker 4: like coming out party. Honestly, this was kind of the
- 9:32Speaker 4: first episode where we really got to know her a
- 9:34Speaker 4: little bit more. I think we're ready to know her
- 9:36Speaker 4: a lot there as the season continues, but this is
- 9:39Speaker 4: really the first moment where we really got to know Kelsey.
- 9:42Speaker 2: Yeah, I agree, and he likes her.
- 9:46Speaker 3: Yes he does. Back of the mansion, Jess really wants
- 10:01Speaker 3: to go on one on one.
- 10:01Speaker 4: We're kind of seeing that play out, but the one
- 10:03Speaker 4: on one does get announced and it's for gin Jen
- 10:07Speaker 4: gets the one on one Daycart says, love is wild.
- 10:12Speaker 4: Uh and uh, I'm really pumped about this one on one.
- 10:16Speaker 4: I think Jin is kind of like a sneaky pick
- 10:18Speaker 4: right now. She kind of has moved way up in
- 10:20Speaker 4: my rankings after this.
- 10:22Speaker 2: She was you know, she was always in my rankings.
- 10:24Speaker 2: She was in my four.
- 10:25Speaker 3: She always was in your four.
- 10:26Speaker 4: Well, so I guess for you when you saw that
- 10:29Speaker 4: she was getting the one on one, what was your thoughts?
- 10:32Speaker 3: Oh?
- 10:33Speaker 2: I thought, well, obviously, but then I also thought, actually
- 10:39Speaker 2: during the surfing part, I was like, I don't know
- 10:41Speaker 2: if she is going to get four. I didn't feel
- 10:45Speaker 2: like they were super connected during that part, Okay, but
- 10:50Speaker 2: I think that they did connect more when she started
- 10:53Speaker 2: talking about her family situation on that date on like
- 10:57Speaker 2: the nightdime date.
- 11:00Speaker 4: I think early on too. I mean, Joey is crushing it.
- 11:04Speaker 4: He's a great bachelor. People are gonna love him. People
- 11:06Speaker 4: do love him already.
- 11:07Speaker 3: I do think those one on ones.
- 11:09Speaker 4: When you're doing an activity are kind of weird because
- 11:12Speaker 4: there is this kind of unspoken rule that you can't
- 11:15Speaker 4: get into anything.
- 11:16Speaker 3: Serious, serious DURINGHAM and so you kind of want to
- 11:20Speaker 3: wait for the coctit party.
- 11:21Speaker 4: So the deeper, the human is, and honestly, sometimes the
- 11:25Speaker 4: more the connection you have with this person, the harder
- 11:28Speaker 4: those one on ones are to not be awkward during
- 11:30Speaker 4: because it's just so natural to talk about things that
- 11:34Speaker 4: should be recorded.
- 11:36Speaker 2: I'm so glad you brought that up. That is absolutely
- 11:39Speaker 2: so true. So it's just kind of like you're you're
- 11:43Speaker 2: feeling learning and giggling and stuff, but you're not really
- 11:46Speaker 2: having conversations of real substance and plus like you're learning,
- 11:50Speaker 2: she's learning how to surf and all that, so it's
- 11:53Speaker 2: all it's all giggles.
- 11:55Speaker 3: It's all giggles.
- 11:57Speaker 4: That's really all they want again, And it's the unspoken
- 12:01Speaker 4: kind of rule that like, hey, don't say anything too
- 12:03Speaker 4: serious during this. It's you know, it's so those moments
- 12:08Speaker 4: are kind of like they're forgettable for me honestly because
- 12:12Speaker 4: I know they don't really have much depth to them
- 12:16Speaker 4: other than the giggles and like the fun activity that
- 12:19Speaker 4: you get to do together.
- 12:20Speaker 2: But activities like sports like this do help you open up.
- 12:24Speaker 3: Yes, later on, you just got to talk about it.
- 12:26Speaker 4: It's like, you know, it gives you at that the
- 12:28Speaker 4: evening when you sit down together, like gives you something
- 12:30Speaker 4: to speak about to share about to laugh about. And
- 12:33Speaker 4: then obviously Jen did get into her story how her
- 12:36Speaker 4: story with her family is a difficult one and one
- 12:41Speaker 4: where she feels separated, well, she is like separated from
- 12:45Speaker 4: her dad.
- 12:46Speaker 3: He has no role in her life.
- 12:47Speaker 2: Yeah, sat and.
- 12:50Speaker 4: This was h This was one of those moments during
- 12:52Speaker 4: the show when you watch and you listen, you know
- 12:54Speaker 4: that many people out there are probably watching this show
- 12:57Speaker 4: and relating with her, and she speaks looking to a
- 13:00Speaker 4: lot of people out there. It's it's a really difficult
- 13:05Speaker 4: kind of story to share. But the two of them
- 13:08Speaker 4: I do believe got closer from it, don't you.
- 13:10Speaker 2: Oh yeah, totally. And like her parents' relationship, just like
- 13:16Speaker 2: that that's awful to grow it up in. There were
- 13:18Speaker 2: slamming doors and throwing things. She said it was a
- 13:21Speaker 2: traumatic house to grow up in, and she thought that
- 13:23Speaker 2: she was doomed for failure, and like they lived in
- 13:26Speaker 2: the same house but were separated and slept in different
- 13:28Speaker 2: beds for like seven years. So that's really rough. But
- 13:34Speaker 2: you know, she she seemed very comfortable with him at
- 13:38Speaker 2: the end of this date. And I liked, I liked
- 13:41Speaker 2: it was an easy date for me to watch.
- 13:44Speaker 3: It was and it's a good way. I say, it's
- 13:45Speaker 3: an easy date for me to watch.
- 13:47Speaker 4: Even in the midst of the heaviness, it was like, no,
- 13:51Speaker 4: these two are great together. So she skyrocketed up my rankings.
- 13:54Speaker 4: But while they're on their date, she obviously gets the rose.
- 13:57Speaker 4: They're still very happy as a beautiful moment with music
- 14:01Speaker 4: playing and kissing and just your I mean, if they
- 14:04Speaker 4: really went all out with that music, it really felt
- 14:10Speaker 4: like the love story was over. I know it's not
- 14:14Speaker 4: because we have a lot of show left.
- 14:16Speaker 2: You said this about Daisy, you were like, stop the
- 14:18Speaker 2: show last week.
- 14:19Speaker 3: Well, I'm not saying south to show. I don't know.
- 14:21Speaker 4: I can't say that about the two of them together yet,
- 14:23Speaker 4: But I say the music that was playing in the background,
- 14:25Speaker 4: like they went all out. If you listen to that
- 14:27Speaker 4: background music, you're gonna be like they went all out
- 14:29Speaker 4: to make sure everybody knew that this date was bicaculate.
- 14:33Speaker 2: Okay, so one little note. Yeah, and knowing and having
- 14:37Speaker 2: lived in LA going to the Hollywood Forever Cemetery for
- 14:41Speaker 2: a date, isn't that weird. It's where they show movies
- 14:44Speaker 2: and stuff and you go like lie out on the
- 14:46Speaker 2: lawn and it's kind of like a romanticized place in
- 14:50Speaker 2: LA But if I.
- 14:52Speaker 3: Was just are they celebrities buried there?
- 14:55Speaker 2: Yeah, a lot of celebrities are buried there. But if
- 14:57Speaker 2: I saw the opening like scene to the at and
- 15:01Speaker 2: I saw that they were going to a graveyard and crematorium.
- 15:06Speaker 2: Is that how you say crematorium, I'd be like, why
- 15:10Speaker 2: are they going here for a date? That was never
- 15:13Speaker 2: brought up?
- 15:15Speaker 3: Yeah, it never was confronted, was it. That's weird?
- 15:19Speaker 2: Like even if you were just to say, like, oh,
- 15:21Speaker 2: people do date night here a lot. They have this
- 15:23Speaker 2: big protector who the heck knows, but it was like
- 15:25Speaker 2: kind of strange.
- 15:27Speaker 4: Back of the mansion. The second group date gets announced.
- 15:30Speaker 4: Caitlin Autumn, Rachel, Daisy, Evelyn, Kelsey, t Star, and Jess
- 15:36Speaker 4: are going to go on this date. It's a tennis date.
- 15:39Speaker 4: The card says, I'm done playing singles. This, Ashley, was
- 15:44Speaker 4: an incredible date.
- 15:46Speaker 2: You love this. I knew you were gonna love this
- 15:48Speaker 2: because like, you're just a sporty guy and you probably
- 15:49Speaker 2: knew who the tennis players were, and I was like, oh,
- 15:53Speaker 2: this is one of my sports ones that like I'm
- 15:55Speaker 2: not gonna get in, but to get to know anybody's personality,
- 15:58Speaker 2: but it does make sense with you know, Joey being
- 16:01Speaker 2: a tennis pro. Well he's not a pro trainer trainer.
- 16:05Speaker 4: But it's fun. It's funny. I like that they dressed
- 16:07Speaker 4: up in costumes. I like that the girls had fun
- 16:10Speaker 4: as a contestant. These are the dates you dream of
- 16:12Speaker 4: where it's not so much pressure.
- 16:14Speaker 2: This was very low pressure, very fun.
- 16:17Speaker 4: For the bear induced where you're like jumping off of
- 16:20Speaker 4: a bridge. This is just like a fun activity with friends.
- 16:25Speaker 4: They probably had a few drinks, they played a little tennis,
- 16:30Speaker 4: then they got all dressed up and went to the
- 16:32Speaker 4: cocktail perm.
- 16:34Speaker 2: Yeah. And you know who stood out this this on
- 16:38Speaker 2: this day, it was Caitlin, who we haven't seen much of.
- 16:41Speaker 2: She ends up getting the group date rose and she
- 16:45Speaker 2: talks to Joey about this curse that her family has
- 16:49Speaker 2: where her mom, who has five sisters and one brother,
- 16:54Speaker 2: has the situation in which all the sisters are single.
- 16:58Speaker 2: Mm hmm, that's curse. Curse is because it's her mom's
- 17:03Speaker 2: her mom's sisters, so they're all like adults. It's not
- 17:06Speaker 2: like she's saying, like me and my sisters all in
- 17:08Speaker 2: our twenties. It's like, Okay, well he he kind of,
- 17:15Speaker 2: but he thought it was funny and it was very cute.
- 17:17Speaker 4: It was well done, it was well like community was.
- 17:20Speaker 4: I thought it was perfect.
- 17:21Speaker 2: Yeah, and that she's she said that she doesn't need
- 17:24Speaker 2: a man to validate her feelings, and that's great too.
- 17:27Speaker 2: She just seemed like very confident in her delivery of
- 17:29Speaker 2: the story and just like fun and lighthearted, which is
- 17:33Speaker 2: why I think she ended up getting the group date Rose.
- 17:35Speaker 2: But also Kelsey t kind of comes out of the
- 17:37Speaker 2: woodwork for the first time. He practices a tennis swing
- 17:40Speaker 2: with her and makes some comments about how like he
- 17:44Speaker 2: really jives with her.
- 17:46Speaker 3: Yeah, you know.
- 17:47Speaker 4: This weekend, actually I was in Charlotte, actually Beaumont speaking
- 17:52Speaker 4: at the Point Community Church and I got to speak
- 17:55Speaker 4: to the church. Great group people, they're fantastic group people.
- 17:59Speaker 4: A lot of listeners Almost Famous podcast came in and
- 18:02Speaker 4: one of the one of the sessions I spoke on singleness.
- 18:05Speaker 4: And my comment about singleness is it's what I tell
- 18:08Speaker 4: my friends, and I've said down here you before, like
- 18:09Speaker 4: you're not promised relationship.
- 18:11Speaker 3: Like I think that's one lie that we continue to
- 18:13Speaker 3: tell ourselves.
- 18:14Speaker 2: Yeah, you mentioned this on a previous podcast.
- 18:16Speaker 4: This and so it's super depressing. I know, I'm just
- 18:21Speaker 4: one of those guys. But the cool part is I
- 18:23Speaker 4: had some really great people come up to me afterwards
- 18:26Speaker 4: U and one of the things I did share and
- 18:28Speaker 4: kind of one of the conversations I was able to
- 18:29Speaker 4: be a part of is h is about singleness. And
- 18:33Speaker 4: the lessons about singleness that I've learned from hearing from people,
- 18:37Speaker 4: especially this weekend after Saturday Night and Sunday services, is
- 18:42Speaker 4: that if you're single, one of the best things you
- 18:44Speaker 4: can do is become really really in tune with yourself,
- 18:49Speaker 4: start to love yourself, and be confident in yourself. And
- 18:51Speaker 4: I think this was a great example of that on
- 18:54Speaker 4: this date was just you came in communicated, well, she's confident,
- 18:58Speaker 4: she's strong, she would love to have a partner, but
- 19:00Speaker 4: she knows she doesn't need one, like she's good on
- 19:02Speaker 4: her own.
- 19:03Speaker 3: She's a human that can have a huge impact even
- 19:05Speaker 3: without one.
- 19:05Speaker 4: I think she was a great example for all those
- 19:08Speaker 4: singles out there right now of what you know, of
- 19:11Speaker 4: what you can be, and what you should be.
- 19:14Speaker 2: It's very well said. Another conversation that we see two
- 19:18Speaker 2: others I think worth mentioning on this group date was
- 19:22Speaker 2: Rachel and Joey. First, she gets her ear and caught
- 19:24Speaker 2: on Joey's sweater. She thinks it's kind of embarrassing. I
- 19:28Speaker 2: would be like, No, this is a great moment to
- 19:30Speaker 2: just be accidentally close to him, and it's cute and flirty.
- 19:35Speaker 2: And then they talk about her dad and like her
- 19:38Speaker 2: dad and house like sweet and respectful, and how much
- 19:41Speaker 2: he adores and values her mom so much, and how
- 19:45Speaker 2: it does like these little things it has like a
- 19:47Speaker 2: gentleness to him. And she says that like she can
- 19:51Speaker 2: kind of get vibes from Joey that are like her dad.
- 19:55Speaker 2: So this is just like another bonding moment between Rachel
- 19:58Speaker 2: and Joey that I do think she's gonna get pretty far.
- 20:00Speaker 2: And then we have Daisy talking to him, and this
- 20:04Speaker 2: time she's like, do you have any questions about my
- 20:06Speaker 2: cochlear implant? Like do you want to basically play with it?
- 20:10Speaker 2: So she introduces him to kind of like the actual equipment.
- 20:14Speaker 3: They're very comfortable together. Yeah, like they're very far along.
- 20:20Speaker 4: You can see the difference with Daisy compared to some
- 20:22Speaker 4: here right like the barnabah Okay.
- 20:26Speaker 3: Actually, time to switch gears a little bit.
- 20:28Speaker 4: We've gone through the whole episode pretty much outside of
- 20:31Speaker 4: the Sydney and Maria drum. We've already mentioned that I
- 20:36Speaker 4: think Sydney got the throw into the deal when it
- 20:38Speaker 4: comes to her group date. I don't believe she said
- 20:40Speaker 4: anything outrageously wrong or that she deserved the quiet lack
- 20:45Speaker 4: of response and applause that she got after her performance.
- 20:50Speaker 4: I think that was really hard to watch. I don't
- 20:52Speaker 4: think it was good after this week's episode, Ashley, I
- 20:58Speaker 4: would love to hear your thoughts on this drama and
- 21:01Speaker 4: this controversy outside of using the excuse of it's all edited,
- 21:10Speaker 4: because I don't think we can use that because you
- 21:12Speaker 4: know what we We only know what we saw, and
- 21:14Speaker 4: we only know what we experienced. And so, as a
- 21:17Speaker 4: viewer of this show and your experience watching it, what
- 21:20Speaker 4: is your take on this drama now after one more week?
- 21:24Speaker 2: Well, then I can't say that there. I think, Okay,
- 21:31Speaker 2: here you go. This is how I'll work around this
- 21:34Speaker 2: question of yours. I think that all the drama seems
- 21:42Speaker 2: to be completely about nothing right now, like very much.
- 21:48Speaker 3: Nothing like what let me pause? Can I pause you here? Though?
- 21:52Speaker 3: Is that not Maria's point exactly?
- 21:55Speaker 2: I don't know about that.
- 21:57Speaker 3: Okay, continue then I just wanted to I want to
- 21:59Speaker 3: hear your there keep going.
- 22:02Speaker 2: We hear Sidney say that she called her like weird
- 22:06Speaker 2: and was it like stupid and embarrassing, and then there's
- 22:10Speaker 2: a couple of other things that I've heard that she's
- 22:12Speaker 2: called her but like it did not make air. And
- 22:16Speaker 2: I think one, you'd have to think that Sidney is
- 22:21Speaker 2: making that up, that she totally made that up out
- 22:24Speaker 2: of thin air and told Joey about that, so she's
- 22:26Speaker 2: a liar, or you can think that they you just
- 22:30Speaker 2: didn't see her saying that on TV. But I think
- 22:33Speaker 2: because there is seemingly this is all an argument over nothing,
- 22:37Speaker 2: and it certainly is not just about Medina in the
- 22:40Speaker 2: old comment. Now, like let's just forget about that. That
- 22:43Speaker 2: does not exist in my mind barely during this episode.
- 22:48Speaker 2: I think there's a lot of contexts missing, and that's
- 22:53Speaker 2: what I'll say.
- 22:54Speaker 3: I said, you couldn't use it as an excuse.
- 22:56Speaker 2: But I'm not using it as an excuse because I'm saying,
- 22:59Speaker 2: base on what I see on TV, it seems like
- 23:03Speaker 2: an argument about nothing, and I'm sure it's not an
- 23:06Speaker 2: argument about nothing.
- 23:07Speaker 3: Okay, you don't know what I see.
- 23:11Speaker 4: Yeah, I see somebody obsessed with causing conflict with Maria,
- 23:19Speaker 4: like some for whatever reason, whatever we're seeing, not seeing
- 23:23Speaker 4: experience or not. Sydney could simply as we said last
- 23:26Speaker 4: week again, she's beautiful, she is confident like she obviously
- 23:32Speaker 4: you said it, so I have to trust you.
- 23:33Speaker 3: She's cool, like she's got so much.
- 23:36Speaker 2: She does not come across as cool though, like I
- 23:38Speaker 2: will admit this.
- 23:38Speaker 6: But I will say in life, I said she's cool. Yeah,
- 23:43Speaker 6: so what I will say is exactly what I said
- 23:46Speaker 6: last week. Still is Sidney, what are you doing?
- 23:50Speaker 3: Give it up? I mean, Maria and Medina got together
- 23:54Speaker 3: like they're.
- 23:55Speaker 4: Good, Like this cannot still be coming from the age thing,
- 23:59Speaker 4: but yet there's still this protection and Ashley the only
- 24:03Speaker 4: reason why I'm so confident.
- 24:05Speaker 3: And saying she should just give it up because this
- 24:08Speaker 3: is a weird obsession.
- 24:10Speaker 4: This is a line she crossed and I don't know
- 24:12Speaker 4: why they chose her to cross it or why she
- 24:14Speaker 4: chose to cross it, But the other women are not
- 24:19Speaker 4: having Sydney's back.
- 24:21Speaker 3: In fact, Sidney got up and walked away from the
- 24:25Speaker 3: cocktail party said anybody wants to follow me? I don't
- 24:28Speaker 3: want to do with this drama. Nobody followed her right
- 24:29Speaker 3: instead of.
- 24:30Speaker 2: Way, it seems like nobody followed her.
- 24:33Speaker 3: Nobody followed her.
- 24:35Speaker 2: That's what it seems.
- 24:36Speaker 3: Like, Ashley.
- 24:38Speaker 4: I know what you're trying to tell me. Okay, I
- 24:41Speaker 4: know what you're trying to say here. But in the
- 24:43Speaker 4: interviews the itms.
- 24:45Speaker 2: Only Alison and Aduena are talking, and Alison and a
- 24:48Speaker 2: Duena seem to be the only friends with Maria, and
- 24:52Speaker 2: it seems like Medina is friends. And then we have
- 24:55Speaker 2: Medina who's friends with Sydney, and then we have Aleyah
- 24:58Speaker 2: who's definitely friends but Maria.
- 25:00Speaker 4: They've talked, They're like, yeah, this is out of blown,
- 25:02Speaker 4: out of proportion, this isn't a thing, and yet Sidney
- 25:05Speaker 4: continues to go back to it.
- 25:07Speaker 3: Now.
- 25:07Speaker 4: I know what your claim is, that they're not showing
- 25:09Speaker 4: the whole story, right, but where are you getting that
- 25:11Speaker 4: information from?
- 25:13Speaker 2: I am getting the information for obviously one person. But
- 25:16Speaker 2: I can also tell you that I just trust her
- 25:20Speaker 2: more than I trust what I guess. I I just
- 25:23Speaker 2: trust her. I can trust her. But I would also
- 25:27Speaker 2: say this like she should not have ever gotten involved
- 25:33Speaker 2: with anything, Like even if she was this you know,
- 25:36Speaker 2: let's just pretend like Maria is saying evil things and
- 25:41Speaker 2: like she is screaming, name calling all this stuff, and
- 25:46Speaker 2: they for some reason are choosing not to show this.
- 25:50Speaker 2: I don't I still don't think Sidney should have gotten
- 25:53Speaker 2: in the mix of like being like the defender or
- 25:56Speaker 2: like the person who stands up to the villain. You
- 25:59Speaker 2: should just never be that person. But I also a
- 26:02Speaker 2: couple most point of view, having been there, and it's
- 26:05Speaker 2: just so much easier to say you shouldn't be that person,
- 26:08Speaker 2: because like, I obviously got myself involved in plenty of
- 26:11Speaker 2: drama even knowing that, like, it's not always your best.
- 26:14Speaker 4: Look So Sydney at this point, I guess if we
- 26:20Speaker 4: characterized her right from what we know of her on
- 26:23Speaker 4: the show so far. On the show, what we see
- 26:26Speaker 4: is somebody who is obsessed with getting Maria gone. She
- 26:32Speaker 4: is the one that is not supposed least, the only
- 26:35Speaker 4: one that's not scared of her. She is the one
- 26:38Speaker 4: that will stand up for the group, right she is
- 26:45Speaker 4: the one that's going to confront Maria. But right now,
- 26:48Speaker 4: it feels like Sidney continues to make something out of nothing,
- 26:52Speaker 4: continues to try to dig deeper to get Maria taught
- 26:57Speaker 4: or in trouble. That's what we're seeing from this episode.
- 27:01Speaker 3: I'm not I'm not. I'm not claiming any anything about Sydney.
- 27:05Speaker 4: In fact, again, I think I watch here and the
- 27:08Speaker 4: whole time I'm like, one stop, like just stop this,
- 27:12Speaker 4: whatever you're doing, stop it.
- 27:14Speaker 3: Turn course here, stop doing this. Right. Everybody else seems
- 27:17Speaker 3: to be not bothered by.
- 27:18Speaker 4: It, And I will say the one lesson you can
- 27:21Speaker 4: take if it means anybody's listening, that will at some
- 27:23Speaker 4: point they're like on the show, if everybody else is
- 27:26Speaker 4: not bothered by it, I don't think you should be either.
- 27:31Speaker 2: Definitely, it seems like no one else is bothered by it.
- 27:35Speaker 4: Uh.
- 27:36Speaker 2: I agree, though, Like I told Sidney after watching this episode,
- 27:40Speaker 2: I was like, you're not a villain. You're just gonna
- 27:43Speaker 2: come across no villain. I was like, you're just annoying,
- 27:49Speaker 2: you see, and you cringey, and everybody's gonna want you
- 27:54Speaker 2: to be gone because nobody wants to hear your drama
- 27:57Speaker 2: over nothing.
- 27:59Speaker 3: Yep.
- 27:59Speaker 4: Okay, but maybe we have different definitions. If everybody wants
- 28:03Speaker 4: you to be gone because you caused.
- 28:04Speaker 2: Drama, no, not in the house. Not in the house.
- 28:07Speaker 3: I'm saying the viewers, the audience.
- 28:09Speaker 4: Okay, if everybody wants her to be gone because she
- 28:12Speaker 4: causes drama over nothing, does that not make her a film?
- 28:17Speaker 2: No, Because I think a villain is somebody who's being
- 28:20Speaker 2: like actually toxic and like a mean person. I don't
- 28:26Speaker 2: think she's doing She's not being a mean person right now.
- 28:32Speaker 3: We see her like, I mean, it kind of feels
- 28:36Speaker 3: like it to me.
- 28:37Speaker 2: I don't know, Well, what do you think she said
- 28:39Speaker 2: that was mean?
- 28:40Speaker 3: Once? She's saying things that I don't think we fully saw, right.
- 28:44Speaker 4: So she's saying Maria said this and this and this
- 28:46Speaker 4: about me from watching it, I don't know that to
- 28:48Speaker 4: be true. I see Maria saying, hey, I'm her and
- 28:53Speaker 4: I'm confused by this. I want to fix this. Can we, like,
- 28:58Speaker 4: can we work through this and see? And he's like, no,
- 29:01Speaker 4: you're stop talking to me.
- 29:02Speaker 3: I'm gone. It feels like she's being very mean right now.
- 29:06Speaker 3: To Maria. It does not feel like Maria has been
- 29:09Speaker 3: mean to her yet.
- 29:10Speaker 2: Well, you know we hear that, Maria, you know, his
- 29:13Speaker 2: name calling her. She says that at least we do
- 29:16Speaker 2: hear her say that.
- 29:17Speaker 3: Who says that she tells.
- 29:19Speaker 2: That to Joey. She says, yeah, Sidney, so you think
- 29:25Speaker 2: that she's actually lying about everything?
- 29:27Speaker 3: I don't claim that. No, Actually I cannot claim for
- 29:30Speaker 3: her to be a liar.
- 29:31Speaker 4: That is not something I want to do here that
- 29:33Speaker 4: I don't think she's lying, but we don't see it.
- 29:35Speaker 2: Yeah, that's what I'm saying. There's just we're missing a
- 29:37Speaker 2: lot of contacts. I think.
- 29:39Speaker 3: I don't want to be tough on Sydney. Here's the
- 29:40Speaker 3: deal again.
- 29:41Speaker 4: I wanted to make it very clear that when I
- 29:45Speaker 4: saw her and when I heard about her going on
- 29:46Speaker 4: the show and the great things that you said about
- 29:48Speaker 4: her to me, and then she is gorgeous like she is,
- 29:51Speaker 4: she's beautiful. Uh, And I do think I saw her
- 29:55Speaker 4: and said, I hope she makes it towards the end.
- 29:57Speaker 3: I think she has that potential, right.
- 29:58Speaker 2: Yeah, I thought that she was going to make it.
- 30:00Speaker 4: Tarzanta a little bit of this when my response here
- 30:03Speaker 4: is frustration because I feel like for somebody that had
- 30:06Speaker 4: the opportunity to make it towards the end, she sabotaged it.
- 30:10Speaker 4: And she did it maybe a little bit clouded in judgment,
- 30:17Speaker 4: meaning some of the stuff she's saying, most of the
- 30:20Speaker 4: stuff she's saying we didn't see and so as a result,
- 30:22Speaker 4: the only thing I can see here or say here
- 30:26Speaker 4: is that she is causing controversy where controversy doesn't need
- 30:31Speaker 4: to exist, and she's sabotaging herself. And I'm frustrated with her,
- 30:36Speaker 4: and I'm frustrated with how this has been handled, and
- 30:38Speaker 4: I'm frustrated that continues to happen because I wanted your
- 30:41Speaker 4: friend to go far.
- 30:43Speaker 3: I wanted her to have a fair shot. I wanted
- 30:45Speaker 3: her to be beloved.
- 30:47Speaker 4: But I do think Ashley, if we're honest, she is
- 30:51Speaker 4: the villain of the season.
- 30:53Speaker 2: All right. I mean you can think that you might
- 30:56Speaker 2: be right, You might be right. Who knows, maybe like
- 30:59Speaker 2: some thing will come out. It's not building towards that
- 31:02Speaker 2: at all. Let's also say that they don't show any
- 31:05Speaker 2: moments of her with Joey, so like we don't know
- 31:08Speaker 2: her at all beyond the drama. So they're like, so like,
- 31:13Speaker 2: it's hard to like her for sure because we don't
- 31:18Speaker 2: know anything beyond her not liking Maria.
- 31:21Speaker 4: Well, we have seen her with Joey, and she was
- 31:23Speaker 4: she chose to immediately talk about Maria, and we know
- 31:27Speaker 4: that's not a good move and quite honestly, Ashley, we
- 31:30Speaker 4: also know that at this point in the season, there
- 31:32Speaker 4: isn't a lot of moments with Joey or with the lead,
- 31:36Speaker 4: and so the moment she has had probably three or four.
- 31:40Speaker 2: She didn't have a date the first week, so the.
- 31:43Speaker 4: Moments with Joey so far have been stuck talking about
- 31:46Speaker 4: somebody else. And here is advice number one when it
- 31:49Speaker 4: comes to being on the show. Don't spend your time
- 31:51Speaker 4: talking about somebody else. It never goes well. I would
- 31:55Speaker 4: love for her to have some more support here. I
- 31:57Speaker 4: don't want to not support her. I'm not saying I
- 31:59Speaker 4: dislike her, No, I know you're not. I'm just simply
- 32:02Speaker 4: saying I'm frustrated, and I honestly just don't enjoy it,
- 32:05Speaker 4: Like it's not fun for me.
- 32:06Speaker 2: I really think that I spelled out that, like, don't
- 32:09Speaker 2: be the one that gets involved in somebody else's drama.
- 32:12Speaker 2: But maybe I didn't because maybe that would have been
- 32:15Speaker 2: hypocritical of me. It's so hold on one second, I
- 32:19Speaker 2: know Jared did. Okay, So I got Jared upstairs and
- 32:33Speaker 2: because I know that he was watching the episode last night,
- 32:36Speaker 2: and he's like, oh, you know, if I'm home by
- 32:38Speaker 2: the time you're recording, like, I'd like to kind of
- 32:40Speaker 2: say my two cents, So Babe, this is your time
- 32:43Speaker 2: to say your two cents, because you know, you just
- 32:46Speaker 2: just go for it. We've already talked about don't bring
- 32:49Speaker 2: up the fash the pageant because that's so inconsequential, just
- 32:52Speaker 2: like your overall take on what Sidney situation, because Ben
- 32:56Speaker 2: thinks that she is the villain, like an actual villain.
- 33:00Speaker 2: He thinks that she's being mean, and I said, I
- 33:02Speaker 2: don't think she's being mean. I just think she's getting
- 33:04Speaker 2: herself far too involved.
- 33:06Speaker 5: First and foremost, obviously we're friends with Sidney.
- 33:09Speaker 2: You've established this.
- 33:10Speaker 5: But like my point being is if anybody is like, oh,
- 33:12Speaker 5: you're just defending your friend, yeah, we're defending our friend. Sorry, sorry, sorry.
- 33:17Speaker 5: If we're going to try to defend friends, I don't
- 33:19Speaker 5: know if that's what people do out there, but hopefully
- 33:22Speaker 5: you're cool with that, and if you're not, then maybe
- 33:24Speaker 5: you should turn this off right now.
- 33:25Speaker 4: And here's my only thing, Jared, I want you to
- 33:27Speaker 4: defend friends, and I don't want to ruin Sydney on
- 33:30Speaker 4: this podcast. That's not fun and it's not what we
- 33:32Speaker 4: do here.
- 33:33Speaker 5: But we're gonna tell how it is, Yes, but I
- 33:35Speaker 5: want you to.
- 33:35Speaker 4: Be honest, like, don't don't come on here and just
- 33:38Speaker 4: like say stuff that like will sugarcoat it, Like I
- 33:42Speaker 4: want honesty still.
- 33:44Speaker 5: Oh, I agree, I want honesty as well. I've always
- 33:48Speaker 5: been in the camp that I think even when so
- 33:52Speaker 5: Lois just burst it through the door. So when Sidney
- 33:55Speaker 5: first came back, obviously we talked to her, and from
- 33:58Speaker 5: the initial get go, I was like, I'm nervous for
- 34:04Speaker 5: you because it sounds like she's the girl that continues
- 34:06Speaker 5: to go to the Bachelor to talk about other girls
- 34:09Speaker 5: or specifically this one girl. And then obviously it's the
- 34:12Speaker 5: way it played out. So what I feel bad for
- 34:17Speaker 5: is I do think that Sydney was trying to do
- 34:21Speaker 5: the right thing by sticking up for her friends. But
- 34:25Speaker 5: at the same time, how many times have we seen
- 34:28Speaker 5: this where it's this girl who continues to not let
- 34:33Speaker 5: something go and thinks that someone is a bad person
- 34:36Speaker 5: or someone's mean. And I'm sure who's I suck? And
- 34:41Speaker 5: I'm sorry, what is the name of the girl?
- 34:43Speaker 2: Maria?
- 34:44Speaker 3: Maria?
- 34:45Speaker 5: I knew that, so I'm sure Maria has I'm sure
- 34:49Speaker 5: Maria has been mean to some girls and has said
- 34:52Speaker 5: some crappy things, but that doesn't give Sydney the right
- 34:57Speaker 5: to like continue to harp on it, which it feels
- 35:00Speaker 5: like she was doing, and whether she was doing that
- 35:07Speaker 5: on her own or she was certainly not getting pressure
- 35:10Speaker 5: but getting like hyped up from other cast members or
- 35:13Speaker 5: producers like regardless, I was hoping that she would know
- 35:17Speaker 5: better than to like continue to go to The Bachelor
- 35:20Speaker 5: and like talk about this other girl because it's like, oh,
- 35:22Speaker 5: like let it go, let it go. So this episode
- 35:25Speaker 5: was not good for her obviously. The annoying part is
- 35:29Speaker 5: like the whole thing is just annoying. Like that's what
- 35:31Speaker 5: I feel.
- 35:31Speaker 2: That's what I said. I was like, she's annoying and cringing,
- 35:34Speaker 2: but like I don't think she's mean.
- 35:36Speaker 5: Nah, I definitely don't think she's mean. I think what
- 35:38Speaker 5: is annoying, And we see this routinely on the show
- 35:41Speaker 5: is that because it just feels like there's always this
- 35:44Speaker 5: drama early on where it's annoying drama, right because it's like,
- 35:48Speaker 5: you know, the relationship, there's still so many people that
- 35:51Speaker 5: were not like as invested in the actual relationships that
- 35:54Speaker 5: matter yet, so it's all this like drama between girls
- 35:57Speaker 5: that were like okay, like they're obviously not going to
- 35:59Speaker 5: be there for much longer. And that's what it feels
- 36:02Speaker 5: like with Sydney and everybody. So I feel bad for
- 36:04Speaker 5: Sydney because she's getting it twofold, because I feel like
- 36:06Speaker 5: she's involved in drama that she's on the wrong side of,
- 36:09Speaker 5: and she's involved in drama that people are just annoyed
- 36:11Speaker 5: at rather than like care about.
- 36:13Speaker 2: It has like no connection with them. So people all
- 36:16Speaker 2: so I'm like, oh.
- 36:17Speaker 4: No, okay, question for you guys kind of close us out.
- 36:22Speaker 4: You knew this storyline was coming down the pipeline. You've
- 36:26Speaker 4: talked to city before the show aired. You knew her story.
- 36:29Speaker 4: Is it better or worse than what you than knew
- 36:31Speaker 4: what you expected.
- 36:32Speaker 2: When she came back and told me her story, I
- 36:36Speaker 2: was like, Okay, it seems like she'll be a person
- 36:40Speaker 2: of prominence. I can't promise this is in my head.
- 36:44Speaker 2: I was like, it can go both ways for her.
- 36:48Speaker 2: I had faith and positivity that it would go in
- 36:54Speaker 2: her direction and she would look good. But I knew
- 36:59Speaker 2: there was like an inkling that she might and I
- 37:01Speaker 2: just that she might not.
- 37:02Speaker 5: Here's I gotta be honest, the entire time, I thought
- 37:06Speaker 5: that it wasn't gonna go well, but I was hoping
- 37:08Speaker 5: I was just wrong, because I've been wrong many times
- 37:10Speaker 5: before and I'll be wrong again. Unfortunately, it doesn't feel
- 37:13Speaker 5: like we were wrong about this. You were not wrong,
- 37:16Speaker 5: but what because the problem is we all know, of course,
- 37:20Speaker 5: like like how many times I keep saying this, but
- 37:24Speaker 5: we all know that the show's condensed to an hour
- 37:25Speaker 5: and twenty minutes with four or five days worth, so
- 37:29Speaker 5: like there's gonna be so much that's just left out,
- 37:32Speaker 5: not because like the show's intentionally trying to put things,
- 37:36Speaker 5: you know, like they're just creating a story around the
- 37:40Speaker 5: kind of the what overall happened during filming, right, So
- 37:44Speaker 5: it's like they have to condense everything, and so it's
- 37:48Speaker 5: hard for me to hear SID. You know, it's because
- 37:50Speaker 5: it's like, of course there are things that are not
- 37:52Speaker 5: going to be aired, but that's just the way the
- 37:55Speaker 5: show is, and it's not right or wrong. It's just
- 37:57Speaker 5: like how this this area works. And so I feel
- 38:02Speaker 5: bad for Sid because it's just like there's so much
- 38:05Speaker 5: out of context, and it's like I know, and that sucks,
- 38:07Speaker 5: and it's hard because you want everybody to see everything.
- 38:10Speaker 3: But they couldn't show at all.
- 38:12Speaker 4: That's why you don't get involved in these sticky situations,
- 38:14Speaker 4: because you know they're gonna try to tell the story
- 38:17Speaker 4: and as effective and efficient as way as possible, which means, yes,
- 38:22Speaker 4: the small conversation you had with somebody else might not
- 38:25Speaker 4: be shown.
- 38:26Speaker 3: It's gonna get cut out.
- 38:27Speaker 4: You have to know if you expect them to show
- 38:30Speaker 4: this whole thing, you would have taken up even more
- 38:32Speaker 4: of this episode.
- 38:33Speaker 3: And I still don't know if it would have gone
- 38:34Speaker 3: well for you.
- 38:35Speaker 2: Like stay, guys, this from two men who played it
- 38:38Speaker 2: so right on the show. You just focus on your
- 38:42Speaker 2: connection with people and not about any of the outside,
- 38:46Speaker 2: which is.
- 38:47Speaker 3: Not intriguing to me.
- 38:49Speaker 4: It's too complex. I never understood anything that was going on.
- 38:52Speaker 4: People were doing weird stuff the whole time, and I
- 38:54Speaker 4: didn't want to understand it because it was just there's
- 38:58Speaker 4: too much happening and it moves too fat for me.
- 39:00Speaker 3: And so as a.
- 39:01Speaker 4: Result, Jared and I sat on the couch and talk football.
- 39:03Speaker 4: And that's a world I know, in a world I
- 39:05Speaker 4: can live in, in a world I can get along in.
- 39:07Speaker 4: And yes, we might have argued, but it definitely wasn't
- 39:10Speaker 4: about anything that really matters in this world.
- 39:13Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 39:13Speaker 5: I think Ben and I both while filming, were always like,
- 39:17Speaker 5: if something was happening, we were never going to be
- 39:19Speaker 5: the person to be like, we need to tell Caitlyn
- 39:22Speaker 5: about this. And it's like, Caitlyn has a good head
- 39:25Speaker 5: on her shoulders, she has tons of producers around her.
- 39:27Speaker 5: She'll be fine. I'm not worried about Kaitlyn, you know.
- 39:29Speaker 3: I'm worried about me that guy. Yeah, I don't need
- 39:31Speaker 3: to be that guy.
- 39:32Speaker 4: This isn't This isn't something that I need to carry.
- 39:37Speaker 4: I don't need to be the protector of the house
- 39:39Speaker 4: name the last protector of the house where it's gone
- 39:43Speaker 4: well for them.
- 39:43Speaker 3: Never happened exactly.
- 39:44Speaker 2: But that's why Jared was concerned when Sidney told him
- 39:48Speaker 2: her story, because it sounded like she was the only
- 39:52Speaker 2: person that really was being vocal.
- 39:54Speaker 5: But it's hard because I also understand that sidney intention
- 40:01Speaker 5: was a good intention. She was trying to help friends
- 40:05Speaker 5: and trying to like stick up and be that person.
- 40:08Speaker 5: And it's hard to tell someone, especially in the aftermath,
- 40:12Speaker 5: that they were wrong because I know that she was
- 40:14Speaker 5: trying to do the right thing.
- 40:15Speaker 2: I know.
- 40:15Speaker 5: So it's like sometimes you.
- 40:17Speaker 2: Can't help yourself and you feel so compelled to do it.
- 40:20Speaker 2: And that's where I came.
- 40:21Speaker 5: From, and especially in that world, because you know, everything
- 40:24Speaker 5: happens just so fast that you just you know, it's
- 40:28Speaker 5: like before you know it, you're You've already talked to
- 40:31Speaker 5: Joey about this numerous times, and you're like, where where
- 40:33Speaker 5: did the time? Like how did this happen? You know,
- 40:35Speaker 5: you kind of just everything's on you know, times too there.
- 40:40Speaker 4: I believe her intentions were good. I think the lesson
- 40:42Speaker 4: of this story, though, is I also, I get to
- 40:46Speaker 4: see a woman on this show this season that I
- 40:49Speaker 4: don't believe is capable of sticking up for themselves. I've
- 40:52Speaker 4: get to seen it, and so I don't know why
- 40:53Speaker 4: they would need Sydney to do it for them. I
- 40:56Speaker 4: think every and then, Quite honestly, I would think if
- 41:01Speaker 4: I was on the show and I had a friend,
- 41:04Speaker 4: if Jared was going up to Kaitlin being like, you
- 41:06Speaker 4: know what this person's really mean to Ben, I would
- 41:10Speaker 4: probably tell Jared, hey man, you can just stay out
- 41:12Speaker 4: of it, because I don't want That's not a story
- 41:15Speaker 4: I need to continue to like promote Kaitlyn doesn't really
- 41:18Speaker 4: know about it. Kind of makes me look weak, kind
- 41:20Speaker 4: of makes me look you know, not capable. I just
- 41:23Speaker 4: I think it's good intentions. I just don't think it's
- 41:26Speaker 4: necessary and I think it gets shown to be it
- 41:31Speaker 4: doesn't get shown in a good light.
- 41:33Speaker 5: Yeah, no, I would agree with that. I think it
- 41:38Speaker 5: is also different. There is a difference between a guy
- 41:41Speaker 5: and a girl doing it because as we've seen with
- 41:45Speaker 5: the show previously, and like, there is this element of
- 41:49Speaker 5: girls sticking up for girls, which I obviously can't really
- 41:52Speaker 5: speak upon all that well because I'm not a female.
- 41:55Speaker 5: But of course, like you know, like for example, but
- 42:00Speaker 5: a lot of people talked about on The Golden Bachelor
- 42:02Speaker 5: was the idea of that these girls were like all
- 42:04Speaker 5: together and like they liked that, they liked the unity
- 42:06Speaker 5: of it together. So I understand that, like maybe in
- 42:09Speaker 5: Sid's head, she was like, you know, we're kind of
- 42:11Speaker 5: in this together, so to speak. And I want to
- 42:14Speaker 5: help out a friend having said that, I'm more in
- 42:16Speaker 5: line with you than I am with her. But at
- 42:18Speaker 5: the same time, I know Sid personally and it's like
- 42:22Speaker 5: I want to make sure that I'm I'm on her
- 42:24Speaker 5: side as well, and make that very clear.
- 42:28Speaker 3: I don't think your intentions were bad.
- 42:30Speaker 4: I don't think this is going to be like one
- 42:32Speaker 4: of those memorable villainous moments. I don't even think whenever
- 42:35Speaker 4: this ends, I don't think people remember this happened this
- 42:37Speaker 4: season like this is such and that's a good reminder
- 42:40Speaker 4: for Sidney is to tell her, hey, to this will
- 42:43Speaker 4: come and go faster than you ever expected and it's
- 42:46Speaker 4: going to be okay, like it will oh one hundred percent.
- 42:49Speaker 4: I just think right now, it's a very annoying, weird look.
- 42:52Speaker 4: I think it is cringey. I think it's hard to watch.
- 42:54Speaker 4: I think it's unnecessary. I don't think Sydney's getting to
- 42:58Speaker 4: get into the deal here, no matter how this really
- 42:59Speaker 4: played out in real life, if it was how it's
- 43:01Speaker 4: happening or not. I unfortunately it's a very drama less
- 43:07Speaker 4: season so far, and so she is going to get
- 43:10Speaker 4: the attention right now, like she's going to get the
- 43:14Speaker 4: feedback and she's gonna feel it for a bit and
- 43:16Speaker 4: that's not fun for anybody. So she needs good friends
- 43:19Speaker 4: like you guys to sit beside her right now to
- 43:21Speaker 4: tell her, hey, yeah, this is like tell her truth
- 43:24Speaker 4: like this isn't fun, Like this doesn't look good. But
- 43:27Speaker 4: ain't nobody out there really hating on you. They're just
- 43:29Speaker 4: criticizing the moment and that's exactly.
- 43:32Speaker 2: And to all the people out there that are like
- 43:34Speaker 2: they can't believe they are offending their friend like that,
- 43:36Speaker 2: blah blah blah, think about all the villains that you
- 43:39Speaker 2: watched on Bachelor and you couldn't stand and then when
- 43:43Speaker 2: it came to Bachelor in Paradise, you got to know
- 43:45Speaker 2: them a little bit more and you totally forgot about
- 43:48Speaker 2: what they did in the Bachelor because you got to
- 43:50Speaker 2: know them more. Like just you know, that's just you
- 43:53Speaker 2: need to know somebody more. But before you just jumped
- 43:56Speaker 2: to these judgments.
- 43:56Speaker 3: It's hard to dislike somebody once you get to know them, right.
- 44:01Speaker 5: As Yeah, it's it's very hard. But let me just
- 44:04Speaker 5: say one more thing before I get out of here,
- 44:06Speaker 5: is that listen, I would never tell anybody what to
- 44:08Speaker 5: think or give their opinion. Of course, Like if you're like, wow,
- 44:11Speaker 5: Sidney so annoying, I mean, have your opinion. I don't
- 44:13Speaker 5: really care, but please keep you to yourself and off
- 44:18Speaker 5: social media directly at Sydney, just like, don't comment guys, and.
- 44:22Speaker 2: I'm like, are you kidding me? You guys like that
- 44:24Speaker 2: was nothing last week?
- 44:26Speaker 5: Yeah, just like my I mean, I know everybody says this,
- 44:29Speaker 5: just don't don't like go on and there's no reason
- 44:33Speaker 5: for you to go underneath one of her pictures and
- 44:35Speaker 5: voice your opinion and be like I thought you sucked. Like,
- 44:37Speaker 5: there's no reason for that. Like, keep it in the
- 44:40Speaker 5: living room, watching TV. Whatever your thoughts are, except if
- 44:45Speaker 5: they're good and you're like, we love Sidney, then maybe
- 44:47Speaker 5: you should write that because that would make her feel very,
- 44:49Speaker 5: very good right now.
- 44:50Speaker 2: Also, us supporting Sydney in this way does not mean
- 44:52Speaker 2: that we are not like rooting on Maria and like
- 44:55Speaker 2: think that Maria sucks or anything like that. We're just
- 44:57Speaker 2: saying that there is possibly two sides of.
- 45:00Speaker 4: You gave good, honest feedback on this episode. It is
- 45:03Speaker 4: a wild episode. It is a crazy episode full of
- 45:06Speaker 4: Sydney and Maria extravaganza. It's not stopping soon because the
- 45:13Speaker 4: two of them did get a rose, so they're both
- 45:15Speaker 4: on the next week.
- 45:16Speaker 3: We'll see more of that. Honestly, another great.
- 45:19Speaker 4: Episode of That's Her Joey crushes It Ashley to close
- 45:23Speaker 4: out here, we're gonna go top two right now.
- 45:25Speaker 2: For you, Top two is going to be Daisy and Well,
- 45:32Speaker 2: it's toss up between Lexi and Kelsey A, but we'll
- 45:35Speaker 2: go with Lexi.
- 45:37Speaker 3: I'm gonna go Daisy and Rachel.
- 45:40Speaker 2: Okay, that's a good choice.
- 45:41Speaker 5: So we don't think Sydney's top to, just confirming that.
- 45:46Speaker 3: We're just confirming that Sidney is definitely not top to.
- 45:49Speaker 3: That's one thing you can't stan under her picture. Hey,
- 45:51Speaker 3: I don't think you're gonna be top two.
- 45:56Speaker 5: Joey wasn't your guy?
- 45:57Speaker 3: That's it? Y? Yeah, If anything, Joe's that you got
- 46:00Speaker 3: all right?
- 46:00Speaker 4: Hey, this is an almost famous podcast, Jared, thanks for
- 46:02Speaker 4: jumping on. We'll be back next week breaking down another
- 46:04Speaker 4: episode of Joey season The Bachelor, and also again reminder
- 46:09Speaker 4: that we have more content come from Carmel. We also
- 46:11Speaker 4: have an almost good advice coming out very soon. It's
- 46:14Speaker 4: going to be incredible. It's been a lot of fun
- 46:17Speaker 4: doing it. Ashley's crushing it. I feel like this almost
- 46:19Speaker 4: good Advice has gotten a lot of traction and it's
- 46:22Speaker 4: been really exciting for us.
- 46:23Speaker 3: So until next time, I've been Ben.
- 46:25Speaker 2: I've been Ashley, and you've been Jered Babe Bye.
