2:40
First up, he's a candidate for US Senate on the Democratic tick.
2:44
And that's right, it's another Democrat side from her. Massy CEO Don Blankenship
2:49
joins us now in the part of Mars Store studio. Mister Blankenship, good
2:51
morning, welcome to the show. Well, thank you glad to be here,
2:53
Thank you for being here. When you say the name Don Blankenship,
2:58
all sorts of things come to mine, but probably Don the least of those
3:01
as the word Democrat. So what's up with that? Well, I think
3:05
the Democrats need help. I mean, I was on the other side for
3:08
a long time, and the Republicans are pretty well taken over West Virginia,
3:12
and the crazies have taken over the Democratic Party, you know, nationally in
3:15
d C and so forth. I don't think West Virginians are typical San Francisco
3:21
or DC Democrats, and I want to hopefully they'll send me to d C
3:25
to send the message that they're not for the things that the national party represents.
3:30
I mean, you and I are from an area of don where almost
3:34
every almost everybody was a Democrat, regardless of whether you're conservative liberal. Hell
3:38
okay, let me back that up. There won't a whole lot of liberals
3:39
in Logan or Mingo County, but I mean there we were all pretty much
3:46
Democrats at one point, pretty much had to be if you want to vote
3:47
for anybody in that part of the world. At one time, Yeah,
3:51
it seems like I was the only Republican in Mingo County for a long time,
3:53
and I think this year, I don't know if this is exactly true,
3:57
but somebody told me there wasn't a single Democrat on the Mingo County ballot
4:00
for county and city offices. That's amazing. I mean, it really is.
4:04
It's just it's a sea change, and it shows. It's encouraging to
4:09
me because it shows that major changes can happen, and we certainly need major
4:13
changes in the country. And that's one of the reasons I'm running us to
4:15
bring attention to the fact that we're not as opposed to one another as the
4:20
media tells us we are. You know, West Virginians are not San Francisco
4:27
Democrats. They are more like moderate Republicans in terms of the rest of the
4:30
country. So if you are elected Senate, you talked about kind of,
4:34
you know, bringing folks together. What are some of the major things you
4:39
would like to accomplish for the state of West Virginia if you are elected to
4:42
the Senate down well, I know that we are all very concerned about losing
4:45
our democracy, so it naturally makes sense that we need a fair election law.
4:48
The fact that you can defame people, which happened to me the last
4:51
time I ran. Or the fact that the media can, particularly the national
4:57
media. You know, you've got the liberal networks and the and the conservative
5:00
network and they beat their candidates up or they you know, make them look
5:04
good or bad. We've got to do something about that. We've got to
5:06
do something about who gets to vote. You know, a lot of illegals
5:10
do get to vote. But unless we make the democracy a true democracy and
5:15
treated as such, it can't last like it is. You're and now you've
5:18
been on the show several times, the first time I've actually had you here
5:21
in person. But but you feel don that you were unfairly characterized in a
5:28
lot of different ways. Talk about that well. Over the years, it's
5:30
been interesting, you know, since I had the battles with the mineworkers in
5:34
nineteen eighty five, which was basically caused by the fact that the western coal
5:40
was growing so fast it was driving the price down and the companies had either
5:44
be tough to go out of business. All the other companies like Island Creek
5:46
and Piston and Westmoreland and the big names from that era in the coal industry
5:51
went out of business, and massive decided not to, but we made a
5:56
big difference in West Virginia. We were you know, I had ten thousand
5:59
people near our peak there, and we created a lot of jobs and made
6:02
a big difference in the communities in southern West Virginia. But you know,
6:06
along the way, the media, the hard left was very, very negative
6:11
toward me and created an atmosphere where it was very difficult, and that stuck
6:15
with me. I guess it sort of put me in a template for the
6:18
last thirty years or so. And you referenced the last time you ran for
6:24
office being as you said, defamed in what way? Well, it was
6:29
interesting. You know, Mitch McConnell was very much opposed to my candidacy because
6:33
he knew I was very much opposed to our reliance on China. I was
6:36
beginning to talk very openly about China, about his personal connections to China,
6:42
about his family sitting on the boards of companies in China, including the Shipbuilding
6:46
Company of China, which had as a mission statement having a better navy than
6:49
an American navy. So when I began to say those things, he chose
6:54
to be very negative toward me, and including he and President Trump, calling
6:59
Fox News getting them to call me a convicted felon on the day and the
7:01
day of the election, which before that I was like eighteen points up in
7:06
the polls. But when you've got when you run as Republican, then you've
7:10
got Fox. I guess about seven or eight different reporters repeating that untruth.
7:16
It's just not possible to win. And you are not a convicted felon,
7:20
not a convicted fella. And actually what I was here. It sounds terrible
7:25
when they say they convicted you of a conspiracy to commit mine's safety violations,
7:30
But the fact is they convicted me for not stopping the coal miners from telling
7:34
each other that the inspectors had arrived. And you know I couldn't have kept
7:39
them from telling each other that I had arrived, let alone that the government
7:43
arrived. It's just a normal practice in the coal fields. But they call
7:46
that committing or conspiring to commit mine safety violations, which was never the case.
7:54
Talking with Don Blanketship again, who is a candidate for US Senate.
7:58
I had to ask you Don about the TV ads of questioned them like,
8:01
exactly what do you mean with some of the phrasing you said in one I
8:05
didn't fall out of the bed and hang myself or something to that effect.
8:07
What exactly do you mean by that? What's somewhat connected to what you just
8:11
ask? You know, I don't believe Epstein fell out of the bed and
8:13
hung himself. I know that I didn't conspire to commit mind safety violations.
8:18
I know that a lot of stuff that's going on in the courts today are
8:22
outrageous, And it's just making the point that you can't really believe what the
8:26
media says about you, so asking people to make their own decision based on
8:31
what they know, what they see and people that know me personally, rather
8:35
than depending on what they might hear in the media. The next ten days
8:39
or so, in the Democratic primary, you're going to be facing Wheeling mayor
8:43
Glenn Elliott. What makes you a better candidate than Glenn Elliott? A different
8:46
experience? I mean, whether you look at my personal life of gone from
8:50
poor to doing quite well, or the struggles I've had with every element of
8:56
the government, whether it be the EPA or the struggle I've had with the
9:00
mind workers, the struggles I've had with the business community of my on board,
9:03
it's a you know, basically I'm a. I think outside the box
9:07
a lot, and I think the country needs a lot of thinking outside the
9:09
box. And I think, although I don't know, mister Elliott, that
9:13
if you send anyone to d C as a Democrat other than me, you're
9:20
just going to get someone that does what Schumer tells them to do. Now,
9:24
the winner of that of the race will go on, in all likelihood
9:28
to face Governor Jim Justice in the fall. Your thoughts on Governor Justice,
9:31
Well, my thought basically is that is going back to what you said earlier,
9:35
He's as good as a governor as we've had in recent years. But
9:39
we can do we can do better, We can always do better. My
9:43
focus is not on Jim per se, but it's on saving the country and
9:48
making a difference in the country. I think people should vote for me to
9:52
see Jim and I debate. I think that'll be a lot of fun,
9:54
uh and you know it'll be interesting. I've got a dog that's bigger his.
10:00
I think my ideas are bigger than his. So I hope that we
10:03
can get together on the stage and show people what it's really all about.
10:07
I'm going to presume don that you haven't seen a whole lot of support from
10:11
the State Democratic Party in your chair Mister Pushkin, who's the State Democratic Party
10:16
chair and delegates on the show frequently, and the party issued a press release
10:22
basically distance himselves from you. So probably not going to be getting a lot
10:26
of support from the State Democratic Party. Yeah, and I would hope not,
10:30
because I wouldn't want to be associated with the policies that they have.
10:33
You know, there's a difference between being a member of a party and being
10:37
a leader in the party. And I want to be a leader in the
10:41
party and lead it back to sanity and getting it away from the transgender stuff
10:46
and getting it away from you know, being in favor of anti Israel protests
10:50
and so forth. I want to get back to the West Virginia Democratic Party
10:54
looking like West Virginians rather than looking like DC or San Francisco. What is
11:00
it that keeps Don blanket Ship going? I mean, you know, you've
11:03
been in the public eye for a lot of years, well before the you
11:05
know, you got involved in politics. Is as you said, your story
11:09
is a fascinating story. I mean for somebody that came from what you did
11:13
to lead the biggest energy company in the nation, Well, what is it
11:18
after all this time. That keeps you going because at at your position,
11:22
it'd be easy for you to say, you know what, I'm done,
11:24
I'm going to the house. What is it keeps don Blankenship going? Probably
11:28
the fact that the people I disagree with don't want me to keep going.
11:31
So it's I'm motivated by the fact that, you know, people who have
11:35
the wrong ideas and do the wrong things. You know, It's just it's
11:41
a motivation to be able to make a difference. I think I made a
11:43
difference in labor relations. I made a difference in the legislature in West Virginia.
11:48
I made a difference in people's lives. They don't pay food tax anymore.
11:52
And you know, we have right to work, and the state has
11:54
a surplus. We're not getting ready to borrow five and a half billion dollars
12:00
in debt the state to fund the teacher's pension fund. So I've made a
12:03
huge difference. Unfortunately, when you're making a difference, that means you're sort
12:09
of into mine hearty, and you're out there by yourself. Otherwise you're just
12:11
going along with the crowd. And since I don't go along with the crowd,
12:16
I've been successful at making a difference, and therefore I want to continue
12:18
to do that. But Dave Allen showing five, any live is presented apart

12:35
law of is a Pinnacle corp ding net for Pinnacle Consultants because what you don't
12:39
know can hurt you. I'm going to close with this, Don, why
12:41
should someone vote for Don Blankenship for yous? Sn't it? Because if we
12:46
don't vote for people like Long Blankship, we're not going to have a country.
12:50
The country can't survive as divided as it is. It can't survive spending
12:54
trellion dollars a year more than it takes in. It can't survive trying to
12:58
police the world. People can't survive with all this nonsense about men competing in
13:03
women's sports and so forth. So if we don't fix those things, the
13:07
country you know not certainly not going to be the superpower. And what we've
13:13
done is we've done everything that George Washington told us not to do. We're
13:16
entangled with China. We don't have separation of powers. We're not passing moral
13:20
laws. We're passing imoral laws so that people should vote for me because I
13:26
will make a difference. I've proven that. So if you think you need
13:30
a difference, that I'm the guy to vote for Don Blankenship, Democratic Canada

16:25
may imagine when you have Don Blanketship on the show. I got some texts
16:27
to get to. We'll get to those before we get to our next guests.
16:32
Text says I hope Don wins the Democrat primary. Says a texture Texas
16:37
said loved the line my dog is bigger than his dog. Yeah, he
16:40
says he's got a dog bigger than baby dog and if he faces Jim Justice,
16:45
I don't want to say it's a dog fact because I don't want the
16:45
people from Peta, you know, out here protesting the studio. But interesting
16:51
line for mister Blankship. Texas dave not to quote Hank Hill, but I'll
16:55
be danged. Don Blanketship actually sounded like a decent cat today. Texays,
17:03
too bad. Don Blankenship is pretty much a colbart and villain in an old
17:06
Western. He has said some things I agree with, says a text and
17:11
a win for Don Blankenship Today, Tex says, great interview with Don Blankenship.
17:17
Thank you so much, my Bjeger candidate for the office of Mayor Dunbar.
17:21
He joins us now, mister Yeager, good morning, welcome to the
17:22
show. Good morning, thanks for having me. Tough to follow up Don
17:25
Blankenship, is that you get a chance to hang out with Donna and then
17:27
we get to meet him in a great the interesting guy. Yes, he's
17:32
an interesting guy. Give us a lowdown. I'm Bob Yeger. Give us
17:34
your biome. Well born and raised Dunbar, lived there my whole life.
17:38
Graduated from Dunbar High School, went to the University of Charleston and got a
17:41
degree in business administration. From there, I went to the South Charleston Police
17:45
Department, where I worked for twenty six and a half years before retiring and
17:49
moving on to a job at the State. Raised my family there, still
17:53
have two kids at home, still raising them there, and just love the
17:56
city. What is it about Dunbar that because you know, everybody's got pride
18:03
in their community, and I talk about this on the show, But what
18:06
is it that makes people love Dunbar so much? What the positives? I
18:10
guess you would say, well, we're a small community. A lot of
18:14
people know people. Everybody tries to know their neighbors and whatnot and look out
18:18
for them. But that's changed a little bit and people are trying to get
18:22
back to that and that's one of the reasons I'm here. Okay, and
18:25
let's talk about some of the negatives. What are some of the negatives?
18:26
Donbar Well, right now, as far as the citizens go, we got
18:33
a lot of people walking the streets, as a lot of cities do,
18:34
a lot of crime, a lot of homeless and what I call thieves.
18:40
There's a difference between homeless and thieves. But we got a lot of those
18:42
issues. And right now we got a lot of problems with the city and
18:47
a lot of those as people know this week, they're back in the news
18:49
again another lawsuit. It's costing the city a lot of money and a set
18:55
of citizens are just fed up with it. Talk about the issues with the
18:59
polease this department as best you can. I mean, you're somebody that's on
19:02
city council and you've seen this, your take on the whole thing. Well,
19:07
first of all, as my position on city council, I get very
19:10
little information the administration is not very forthcoming with what's going on with these situations.
19:15
I find out about most of this stuff just like you do when I
19:18
read it in the paper or hear it on the news. So that that's
19:21
one issue where the city's not very transparent when it comes to these issues.
19:26
But the other issue is these lawsuits. When this administration took office, me
19:30
included on council, there were four or five lawsuits already pending, and I
19:34
sat down and talked with the mayor and I was like, hey, what
19:37
are we going to do about this? And he didn't really have a plan,
19:41
And here we are three and a half years later. Now I think
19:44
we're up to maybe twelve lawsuits that I'm aware of, and it just keeps
19:48
mounting. And before I filed to run, I went back to the mayor
19:52
and still no plan, and citizens are just not they're not going to accept
19:57
that. What are the numbers now? Because I actually saw you in an
20:02
interview on television this morning when you talked about you or the report, I'm
20:07
not sure which one, but it was stated about the number of officers that
20:11
are that are on suspension. I know of at least one or two right
20:17
two right now? And then there's one that either I think that was under
20:19
investigation that quit or resigned. Is that? Is that right? I believe
20:23
it or not. I only know what you've heard on the news. Okay,
20:26
I've gotten from the same place you did. From what I understand,
20:30
we are slotted for sixteen. We may be down to twelve, and like
20:33
you say, one has recently resigned under investigation into or currently on suspension.
20:37
But again I got that from the same news you did. Sorry enough to
20:41
get police officers people to want to do that job anyway, Absolutely, Yeah,
20:45
this isn't making it any easier to fill those spots. So we talk
20:48
about this again. We're talking with Bob Yegor, who's the candidate for mayor
20:52
of Dunbar. We talk about these things with the issues with the police department,
20:55
but other than that, what led to your decision to want to become
20:59
mayor, to come off counsel and become mayor. Well, to be flat
21:02
honest with you, I wasn't going to do this yet. I was going
21:04
to wait four more years. I've got a really good job where I'm at.
21:07
I was going to stay there four more years. But I was getting
21:11
a lot of pressure. So That's when, like I said, I went
21:12
and talked to the marriage just recently before I filed and sat down and said,
21:15
what you know, what's the plan? And I was told, well,
21:19
there's been there haven't been any criminal charges filed. There's some policy violations
21:23
with no criminal charges. I'm like that that doesn't matter, that don't make
21:27
any sense. And then when the friday before the filing date, when the
21:32
federal judge issued that default order against the city for failing to respond to a
21:36
lawsuit, that was the moment that well, it's now's the time. I
21:41
can't put this off four more years. We might not have a city in
21:44
four more years. Our insurance is going to go through the roof if we're
21:47
going to be insurable at all, and if we lose our insurance, we
21:49
lose so many city services, police, fire, and we can't do that.
21:55
City may not survive four more years. Let's talk about the business climate
21:59
of Dunbar. If elected, what do you plan to do to try to
22:03
get more businesses, because that's the bottom line for any city. You want
22:06
more businesses in panels, bingo, taxes, and providing services for the residents
22:10
and people that visit to town. What do you plan to do to attract
22:12
businesses into town or to keep businesses that are already there to keep them in
22:17
town. Well, the first thing we have to do is we've got to
22:18
change our image back. The people that live there, we know what a
22:22
great place it is. But the outside world, with all the negative publicity
22:26
going on right now, if you google Dunbar, West Virginia, you're not
22:29
going to see what a great place it is to live. You're going to
22:30
see these lawsuits. And that's the first thing we got to change. We
22:33
got to change that image. And then I believe that the future of Dumbar
22:37
is going to is very dependent upon how we take advantage of the opportunities the
22:41
Shawnee Sports Complex is bringing. That thing is literally bringing tens of thousands of
22:45
people through our town, and right now we're not taking advantage of that.
22:49
So we need to be able to attrack those businesses in that can profit off
22:55
of what's going on at Shawnee, and I truly believe that's where our future
22:59
lies. I've heard a lot of talk people all over the valley, not
23:02
just in Dunbar, talking about the need for hotels. Yes, and that's
23:06
a need I'm presuming in Dunbar as well. Hotels, restaurants. We just
23:08
the one we have there now that has just been recently remodeled, just opened
23:12
recently, so that's a plus. But yeah, we need, we need
23:15
hotels, we need we need service service type industry. What if you're out,
23:21
if elected or even as a council person, if you're out trying to
23:23
sell Dunbar to people, either a potential business or residents to move there,
23:30
people to say there, what do you use as a selling point for Dunbar.
23:33
Well, it's not my quote, it came years ago. But we
23:36
are truly the hub of the valley. You can get to anywhere from Dunbar
23:40
in just a few minutes. We're, you know, less than ten minutes
23:42
from Charleston south Ridge, you know, thirty minutes from Barbersville, Huntington.
23:47
It's a good, good central location in the valley. As you've been out
23:52
campaigning, how's the campaign? God? What what do you hear from people?
23:56
People are upset, they're not happy with the way things are going,
24:00
they're ready for a change, they're they're looking for something new. What do
24:03
it specifically? Do they come to you and say, hey, if you're
24:06
a mayor, I want you to do this. Roads, street repair,
24:11
people running up and down their alleys at all hours of the day and night.
24:15
They don't like to You pull into a convenience store and you got to
24:18
wait before you can go inside because the people hanging out on the parking lots.
24:22
They don't feel safe. They don't feel comfortable getting out of their cars
24:26
and walking into store. Sometimes they don't feel comfortable walking their dogs at night
24:30
because of the people running the streets. Those are the things I'm hearing a
24:33
lot of. What experiences have you learned as a city council person that you
24:41
think will bode well for you, Because sometimes this happens in certain towns and
24:45
somebody has been on council and they think, well, I could. I'm
24:48
not saying this is you, but don't say well, I think I could
24:49
be a mayor and I could I could do a better job because I've learned
24:53
this. You know, A B and C. Are there things that you've
24:56
learned as a city council whether you think would make you an effect to mayor
25:00
if you're elected. Yeah, And to even go back further before city council,
25:03
A lot of things I learned from working for twenty six and a half
25:07
years in South Charleston. One of the things Dumbar is lacking right now is
25:10
customer service. The city government is not focused on providing the service to the
25:15
citizens. The public service is just another way of saying community service or customer
25:21
service, and the customer the citizens are our customers and our job. Our
25:26
employees' jobs are to take care of those citizens, and our jobs as city
25:30
government is to take care of those employees. So we have to provide them
25:33
with the good wages and good equipment so they can go out there and they
25:36
can do the best job possible for the citizens. I don't think what I've
25:38
learned on council is I don't think the citizens are getting what they deserve in
25:42
Dumbar. But Dave Allen showing five any Life is brought to you apart by

26:42
we called it the final thirty Why should someone vote for bobbye or for mayor
26:45
of Dunbar. Well, I've got the leadership skills needed to make the hard
26:51
decisions that are going to be in the best interest of the citizens in the
26:53
city. And secondly, they know what they've got in four ready for a
27:00
change. And you can't keep sending the same people back in there and expecting
27:03
something different. Nothing's going to change if we keep sending the same people back

May the fourth and the Star Wars people. I guess that means something.
31:03
I hate to say. This gen Next guy, not a Star Wars guy,
31:08
but anyway, the May fourth things are big across the country. I
31:12
know a lot of towns and businesses are doing a lot of conjunction with May
31:15
the Fourth Be with You. One of those is Nitro. Tim tim or
31:19
Not is the owner of Nitro, Antique mal and Third four Comics, and
31:22
he's helping them to plan a big event in Nitro. Tim, good morning,
31:26
welcome to the show. Good morning, thank you for being here.
31:29
May the Fourth Be with You, Star Wars Day, comic com sorts.
31:33
You got all kinds of things going on. Man, we do. And
31:36
you know what's crazy is you know it's not just Nitro. Hurricane is also
31:38
doing a May fourth Star Wars event too, So it's like the perfect alignment
31:42
of the stars come together on a maypour showing up on a Saturday. Everyone's
31:48
really been able to jump in and take part of this. At Nitro,
31:51
we're going to do something fun. We're going to Mini Comic Con. I've
31:55
got like twenty comic and toy menders. They're going to come in sell their
31:59
Star Wars, know the pop culture related items. We're gonna have a Lego
32:02
building contest with a Star Wars theme. We're gonna have a cosplayers show up,
32:08
and we're doing a Funko pop building contest as well. All Right,
32:12
I gotta ask you because Joe Stevens was hooking me up my buddy, and
32:15
Nitro was hooking me up with some stuff to talk to you about. Fungo
32:20
funk Go pops. Okay, what a water Funko pops man. They hit
32:23
the market about ten years ago. They have licensing that covers any kind of
32:30
property you can think of. They're like a three inch bubble head and they
32:35
have just taken off like a rocket. They've got a lot. The only
32:37
problem is there's some characters that they don't have licensing to yet, so people
32:42
would do customs. So we're having a contest after you do your own custom
32:47
Funko pop. Okay, it sounds it sounds interesting for sure, I just
32:52
like send Funko on the air. So all this is happening Saturday now.
32:57
It's going to be taking place primarily around the Nitro Living More Park, Is
33:00
that right? That is absolutely correct? And as you said, we've got
33:04
the Star Wars costume contest, you got prizes there, and this Lego builds
33:07
and the funk Go thing. I mean, it sounds like it's going to
33:10
be a big time. What are the idea I mean, I know the
33:14
calendar helped out with the May fourth thing, but what did the idea to
33:15
do all of this come from? You know, the Star Wars fan base
33:21
is huge, and I'm not sure exactly when they started the May fourth event
33:27
overall on a national basis, but we jumped onto it a few years ago.
33:30
Just the play words May fourth made to fourth you with you is just
33:34
a natural way to push Star Wars merchandise and the love of the movie franchise.
33:40
Yeah, I mean, it's it's it just kind of popped up.
33:43
I mean, this is the original Star Wars movie came out in nineteen seventy
33:45
seven, and this whole thing with May the fourth, I mean it just
33:49
kind of seemed like it came out of nowhere. But as you said,
33:52
it is, it is huge. It is huge. And if you haven't
33:55
seen the original Star Wars. At dark we were be showing that the original
33:59
Star Wars movie a New Hope on an open screen in the park for free
34:04
for everybody, come and watch. It's kind of interesting. Again, I'm
34:06
not really a Star Wars guy. Go ahead and turn in my Generation X
34:09
card there, but I will say that what they're interesting to me about the
34:13
whole Star Wars movie franchise is the fact that you know, that was just
34:15
known as Star Wars for years, and then they came out with the uh,
34:19
with the with the sequels. But then but then suddenly the Star Wars,
34:22
the original Star Wars from seventy seven, had another name added to it.
34:25
Yeah, I think they had to the original idea when Lucas made the
34:30
films was just Star Wars. He's gonna make three films and be done it
34:35
out. Then, of course, hap to popularity hit and twenty years later
34:38
they re released him and they went back and told the pre story, then
34:44
went back and told after that hit, and then after Disney bought him out,
34:46
they went back and told the post story for it all. So really,
34:50
it's a whole story of not Luke Skywalker, but i Ankins Skywalker and
34:53
Darth Vader. I know I'm nerding out here. I'm sorry, but it's
34:58
all good, man, it's all good. You don't ask. I mean,
35:00
you don't know if you don't ask, That's why I'm asking. I
35:01
just it seemed to be interesting to me, and I didn't even I didn't
35:05
know that that what you said that he originally planned to do three. How
35:07
many Star Wars movies have there been? Oh, gosh, there's nine in
35:12
the main continuum basically, then you throw in there's a couple of there's there's
35:16
several offshoots. They did an offshoot with the story of han So Solo.
35:22
They did an offshoot of the Rebels that stole the plans for just stroying the
35:27
Death Star easily. There's probably nine, ten eleven films. Okay, well,
35:31
that's a number of TV shows that Dizzey has put out. Yeah,
35:36
I mean it's a big part of Again, we're talking with tim Orno about
35:37
this big event that's going on in Nitro as part of the May of the
35:40
fourth, and you did mention that the city of Hurricane and my part of
35:45
the world is going to be doing something tomorrow. I'm going to have Amanda
35:47
Smith Raimi from the City of Hurricane on to talk about what they are doing
35:51
on Saturday. This is kind of like the perfect storm, as you said,
35:52
because May the fourth became a big thing over the last couple of years,
35:55
and the fact that it's on a Saturday, you can even add more
35:59
to it. I guess right, Yeah, absolutely, It's like I said,
36:01
it is perfect opportunity. You know, hopefully the weather will hold out
36:05
for us. We're getting some iffy reports. Yeah, so if the weather
36:07
holds out, I think it's' be a great weekend for any Star Wars fan
36:10
or anyone that has the site interest in Star Wars whatsoever. To day,

36:39
the Legal Cinema in nighter is going to supply some free popcorn for everybody,
36:44
So bring a chair, kick back and do the movie. As long as
36:46
the weather holds out, I think we'll all have a great time watching a
36:50
classic. That sounds like it, Tim, Is there a place easy place

37:39
it's there's there's two things, Jeff, that you can count on when it
37:43
comes to the month of May in the world of social media, May the
37:47
Fourth, May the Fourth be with you and the whole justin Timberlake one of
37:54
the insinct guys. I don't know who. I don't know who the guys
37:58
that has the it's going to be a type thing, you know what I'm
38:00
talking about, Jim A little bit. Not. I do know about the
38:05
justin Timberlake thing. I've seen the memes about it, and uh yeah,
38:09
made the fourth all that also the Indy five hundred and everything in Memorial Day
38:14
later this month, so that will also be popping up. Not offs off
38:21
my head, No, I can. I can look into it though.
38:23
Okay, we're having a conversation here with this much. There's there's two jeffs
38:30
j Jeff Jeff Jenkins. How long have you been in radio? How long
38:34
you been in radio. I love it. Go ahead. How you doing
38:38
data? It's fine, Jeff. I'm I thought you were in a breakout.
38:44
I tell you, well, that's no, No, that's fine.
38:45
I'm over here talking to Hollywood Jeff Patty and Jeff Jenkins from the newsroom stix
38:50
his head in here and just starts talking to me. You do realize I'm
38:52
on the air here, right, But it's all right, it's all right.
38:55
Yeah. How many years you been doing radio, Jeff? A few?
38:59
Yeah? You Well, while you're while you're here, what's going on
39:01
in the world? News makes it make yourself useful? What's going on?
39:05
Well, we're going to run a story today. I just got finished talking
39:08
to Appalachian Power Company. So they've got their preliminary storm damaged totals from the
39:14
storm from earlier this month. So it's it's their price tag. Appalachians price
39:19
tag is thirty million dollars. Thirty million dollars for the storm response and clean
39:24
up in West Virginia. Wow, thirty million dollars. So, and we
39:29
know how Appalachian Power recovers their costs. They recover it through the rate payers,
39:34
the customers. So they have had some preliminary discussions with the PSC and
39:38
they are going to file for that recovery over a several year period, not
39:44
all at once. So that's what the company is saying right now. So
39:45
we're working on a story about that. All right, there you go,
39:49
there you go. Now, now this is this has been officially a new
39:52
to my interruption. Yeah, it's it's all good man. Jeff Jenkins,
