- 0:00Speaker 1: What's up, everyone, and welcome to another episode of the
- 0:03Epstein Chronicles. In this episode, we're going to pick up
- 0:06where we left off with the Bill Gates transcript from
- 0:10his conversation with Congress. Question sure, answer, I believe that
- 0:15he found out about the affairs through doctor Nikolich. Question
- 0:19did you ever ask doctor Nikolich to do anything morally
- 0:22inappropriate or unethically unsound? Answer? While he was involved, he
- 0:27knew that I had spent time with the women I
- 0:29had affairs with, so only in that sense. Question how
- 0:32did he know that? Answer? You know one time it
- 0:35was scheduling thing when we were in London, where I
- 0:38said to him I was going to disappear and wanted
- 0:41him to show that I was meeting with them at
- 0:43the time. Question, so you used them as an alibi
- 0:46to meet with a woman? Is a fair question? That
- 0:49is correct? Question did he know the name of a
- 0:51woman at the time? Answer? At some point I mentioned
- 0:54the name to him. Question did you ever ask doctor
- 0:57Nikolich to do anything that was potentially illegal? Answer no. Question.
- 1:02Did doctor Nikolch ever assist you in acquiring drugs? Answer no?
- 1:07Question did you ever ask him to acquire you drugs?
- 1:10Answer no. Question was doctor Nikolich a medical doctor? Answer?
- 1:15I think he was a research doctor. Question did he
- 1:18have prescribing authority? Do you know? Answer? I don't understand
- 1:21that question. To be clear, you don't understand the question
- 1:25or you don't understand prescribing authority. Answer I'm not sure
- 1:29whether he had prescribing authority. It never came up. Question,
- 1:32So do you have any guesses as to why doctor
- 1:35Nikolch or Jeffrey Epstein believed that you had asked doctor
- 1:38Nikolch to acquire drugs for you? Answer? I don't have
- 1:42any awareness that doctor Nikolch ever saw the email. Is
- 1:45that are you suggesting he did? Question? I'm asking you
- 1:48if you have any context you can share of why
- 1:51either Epstein or Nickolitch believe that. Answer. I don't question.
- 1:55You've already acknowledged that you engaged in infidelity. Have you
- 1:59discussed one of the one of the two women that
- 2:01you've acknowledged, who's the second woman? Answer? Her name is
- 2:05Karima Nigma Tulina. Mister Moran jumps in and I'll just
- 2:11say as we go forward, you know, as you've seen,
- 2:13mister Gates is here addressing obviously very sensitive topics with
- 2:17the committee as they relate to Jeffrey Epstein. We know
- 2:20that there's also a lot of public interest in the
- 2:22details of these private affairs that aren't pertinent to Jeffrey Epstein,
- 2:27who had no involvement in those other than learning about
- 2:30them after the fact, And so mister Gates will probably
- 2:33seek to decline to divulge details that are not related
- 2:36to Jeffrey Epstein as is is right. But as you've
- 2:39seen so far, he's here to answer the committee's questions,
- 2:43and we appreciate the committee and that they've handled this sensitively.
- 2:48Question where both of these women are Russian? Answer yes,
- 2:51question again the draft email, which I understand you have
- 2:54not seen, were first to sect with Russian girls. Just
- 2:57for the record, how old were these women during the
- 3:01time of your affairs? Answer? One was in her twenties,
- 3:04one was in her thirties. Questions so there were both adults?
- 3:07Answer yes, Emmer. We have another member joined, Can he
- 3:11please announce himself for the record? Tim Burchett, Tennessee's second
- 3:15district question, did you also engage in Again the email
- 3:20refers to quote illicit triss with married women? Did you
- 3:23have any other affairs besides these two women that we
- 3:26just discussed. Answer. The only affairs that doctor Nikolic were
- 3:30aware of were the two that we've discussed. Question, but
- 3:33there were other extramarital affairs. Answer None with any connection
- 3:37to Epstein that he became aware of or that he
- 3:40had any connection too. Question how do you know that? Answer?
- 3:44I guess I'll never know because he's dead. Question. So
- 3:47that's the reason I'm asking about these other ones is
- 3:50you've already testified today that you didn't know that these
- 3:53two women did have any affiliation with Jeffrey Epstein, and
- 3:56many of these details we've only since learned from the
- 3:59Department of jo Release. So I do think additional context
- 4:03about any other extra marital affairs, especially during the time
- 4:07period you knew Jeffrey Epstein, are relevant to the committee's inquiry.
- 4:11Mister Moran, with respect, I'm able to say that mister
- 4:14Gates is in the best position to help the committee
- 4:16understand what was connected to mister Epstein, and I think
- 4:20he's done the best to do that. Question. So doctor
- 4:24Nickolch knew of the two affairs with the two Russian women,
- 4:26and that's it. Answer Yeah, Question, did you ever contract
- 4:31a sexually transmitted infection during any of your extra marital affairs.
- 4:35Answer no question, not needs to or any potential other ones.
- 4:40Answer no question. Do you have any guests as to
- 4:43why Doctor Nikolich or Jeffrey Epstein may have believed that
- 4:46you did answer, and maybe they thought that was a
- 4:48good way to blackmail someone. Question did you have a
- 4:52scare of some kind and it turned out to not
- 4:54be a sexually transmitted infection? Answer? I never had an STD. Question.
- 4:59Did you ever unicate to doctor Nikolch that you were
- 5:01worried that you might answer? It's possible I said something
- 5:05like that, which later turned into the lie that I
- 5:07actually had an STD. Question. Do you recall a specific discussion? Answer?
- 5:13I do not question, but it's possible that you did
- 5:16answer yes. Question and again, for the record, you did
- 5:20not ask doctor Nikolch in his capacity as a doctor
- 5:23or in any other capacity, to acquire drugs antibiotics of
- 5:27any kind. Answer no, he was not a prescribing doctor. Question. Okay,
- 5:32mister Higgins, I understand you have a couple questions you'd
- 5:35like to ask. Now it's mister Higgins ask in the questions.
- 5:39I have one question, mister Gates, You describe the relationship
- 5:43as manipulation, betrayal, coercion, threat of blackmail, dishonesty. Doctor Nikolch
- 5:48was your closest associate. We understand. Have you come to
- 5:52believe that doctor Nikolicch conspired with Jeffrey Epstein prior to
- 5:56your dinner meeting in twenty eleven and planned, to some
- 5:59extent an effort to draw you into the Epstein web?
- 6:03Has that come to be your perception of what happened? Gates?
- 6:06I don't know what you mean by web. I have
- 6:08said that Higgins cuts them off, the Epstein web of
- 6:11deceitful manipulation and seeking power and leverage with people of
- 6:15wealth and influence across the world. Gates? Can you restate
- 6:18the question? Sounds very open ended? Higgins. The question is
- 6:23have you come to believe in retrospect and in reading
- 6:25these emails that have been revealed and some greatly surprise you,
- 6:29as you said, and having gone through that relationship and
- 6:32resisted efforts to draw you into more deeply social relationships,
- 6:36resisted efforts by Epstein to coorus you into allowing him
- 6:40into a deeper role with some things that you regretted
- 6:43doing in life, have you come to see that doctor Nikolch.
- 6:46Do you believe that doctor Nikolch conspired or met with
- 6:49Epstein prior to your dinner meeting in twenty eleven and said,
- 6:53I think maybe I can get I can get Bill
- 6:55in front of you and maybe we can draw him in. Gates,
- 6:59I don't believe that happened, Higgins. You don't believe that happened. Gates. No,
- 7:03I don't think doctor Nikolic was part of a broad
- 7:05set of things that you described. Higgins. Okay, that was
- 7:09my only question. Emmer, we have another member join. Can
- 7:13he please announce himself for the record. Congressman John Maguire
- 7:16of Virginia's fifth District specter. Question, mister Gates, We're coming
- 7:22up near the end of our hour, so I just
- 7:24want to ask you a couple brief questions to follow
- 7:26up on. So we've discussed the names of two women
- 7:28that you had affairs with. You've already said that they
- 7:31were both Russian. I believe in previous press statements other
- 7:35public statements you described one as a bridge player and
- 7:38the other as a nuclear scientist or something of the sort.
- 7:41Is that fair answer? That's fair question? And so was Mela?
- 7:46She was the bridge player. Is that correct? Answer? Mila
- 7:49Antonova I met at a bridge tournament and she was
- 7:51a serious bridge player. Question. And Karimo was a nuclear scientist?
- 7:55Is that right? Answer? That is right? Question. You described
- 7:59at least one instance of how doctor Nikolich was aware
- 8:02of your infidelity, and it related to a meeting, a
- 8:05meetup that you had in London. I believe you said,
- 8:08was it the bridge player or was it the nuclear
- 8:10scientists that you were meeting at the time? Answer? It
- 8:14was a nuclear scientist. Question. Ha did doctor Nikolicch come
- 8:17to learn of the bridge player? Answer? There was a
- 8:20time after I finished dinner in California where the bridge
- 8:23player was meeting me, and because I was delayed, Doctor
- 8:25Nickolitch met her and stood with her, was with her
- 8:28until I arrived. Questions, So, once doctor Nikolich became aware
- 8:33of each of these two affairs, was this something? What
- 8:36was the situation between the two of you? Was it
- 8:38the kind of thing where you knew he knew, and
- 8:41he knew that you knew he knew, but you didn't
- 8:43talk about it. Did you talk about it openly or
- 8:46was it just like both of you knew the situation
- 8:48and chose not to talk about it. Answer, I don't
- 8:51remember talking about it until you know, during the exit period.
- 8:54As I said, there were the veiled delusions, and in
- 8:58an email took that on very directly. Question again, we've
- 9:02already discussed some of the potential for other extramarital affairs,
- 9:07but just to be clear for the record, is your
- 9:09testimony that you had no other romantic sexual relationships with
- 9:13any woman associated with Jeffrey Epstein? Answer? That is right. Question?
- 9:18And I asked you how you knew that, and you
- 9:20said you can never really be sure. Is that your
- 9:22testimony as well? Answer? No, I'm sorry, go back. Question.
- 9:25I asked you how you knew that no other woman
- 9:28you may have had sexual or romantic relations with had
- 9:31any connection to Jeffrey Epstein. I asked you how you
- 9:34were sure about that, and you said, well, you guess
- 9:37you can't be sure. Is that right? Answer? I'm quite sure?
- 9:40Question how answer you know? I think that Epstein, when
- 9:42he was writing emails to himself, took every potential negative
- 9:46thing he knew and some that are completely false, and
- 9:49put those into a draft email to himself. And as
- 9:51we see from the email release, the only specific things
- 9:54he refers to are the affair with the nuclear scientist
- 9:57and the affair with the bridge player, and so I
- 10:00think in some weird way he discovered anything negative to
- 10:03say about me. He would have seen them, or we
- 10:05would have seen them in the emails that he sent
- 10:07to himself. Mister Spector. Thank you very much. We can
- 10:11go off record, mister Claire if I could. Before we
- 10:14do that, I could just offer one thing for the
- 10:18committee's benefit. This line of questioning has been about these
- 10:20emails that Epstein sent to himself, and obviously there's a
- 10:23lot of interest in how those things came about. In
- 10:27the course of preparing for this hearing and working with
- 10:29mister Gates, we did identify a situation where Epstein did
- 10:33send an email to himself purporting to memorialize something that
- 10:37mister Gates said, completely unrelated to this topic of affairs.
- 10:40But we do see within hours of mister Epstein receiving
- 10:43an email from mister Gates, Epstein drafting one of these
- 10:46emails to himself, purporting to memorialize it and changing significantly
- 10:51the substance of it. And so this might shed light,
- 10:55and if the committee is interested, I'm happy to provide
- 10:59those Bates numbers, and you know whether it's for today
- 11:01or another time. We'd be happy to brief you on it,
- 11:04but it seems relevant to the question of what mister
- 11:06Epstein does when he drafts these emails to himself. The email,
- 11:10the authentic one that mister Gates sent to Epstein, has
- 11:14a Bates number, and then the email that Epstein to
- 11:16Epstein comes from a few hours later, where he's purporting
- 11:19to memorialize what mister Gates told him but changing the
- 11:23substance of it is EFTA zero nine zero one nine
- 11:27three six two eight three. So we leave that for
- 11:30the committee's consideration. Mister spector, thank you. We can go
- 11:34off record, all right. We're gonna wrap up right here too,
- 11:37and in the next episode dealing with the topic, we're
- 11:39gonna pick up where we left off. All the information
- 11:42that goes with this episode can be found in the
- 11:45description box.
