- 1:31button, liking, and hey, listen, hitting the like button. Whatever it is that
- 1:35you need to do and everything that it is is in my description.
- 1:39And show love and feel free to share. So I'm not about that life,
- 1:44but hey, listen, I'm all about helping people.
- 1:48And, you know, today, you know, shout out to our colleagues,
- 1:52sister in arms, and a couple of people out there in the last kind of couple
- 1:56of weeks. It's been interesting, to say the least, and many emotions.
- 2:00And I kind of remind myself that it was not too long ago, and I want to say that in this podcast,
- 2:06We're going to live, or not live, but remind ourselves that the way we start
- 2:12the day, now I'm going to be loosely say the word morning because there are
- 2:17people that their time schedule is different, their day is different.
- 2:21For me, what's morning, you know, it could be the night for somebody else and vice versa.
- 2:28You know, because, hey, listen, so to me, I'm one to say, and in my case,
- 2:32the way that you start the morning, The first thought, and especially if it's
- 2:36positive, is what's going to help transcend the rest of the day.
- 2:42And I'm one of those people that I say to myself, you know what?
- 2:46That's why I wake up early. I do my good deeds in the gym. I give a shout out to the good Lord.
- 2:52Be grateful and remind myself that there's others that need help.
- 2:57There's others that need that little extra hand.
- 2:59And I'm more than willing to do it.
- 3:02But sometimes your boy D sometimes he wake up like what the hell is going on I don't feel good.
- 3:10You know, certain parts of my body's hurting. You know, I got the,
- 3:14you know, ailments and all that good stuff. And I said, what is going on?
- 3:18And the other day I was at work and it actually started in the gym and I was
- 3:22just not feeling up to par.
- 3:24And, you know, when you're not feeling up to par and, you know,
- 3:26I got a couple of things going on in my life that I want to take care of because,
- 3:30hey, listen, we're moving, we're on a mission.
- 3:34So that means that your mind hits this chatterbox. Like, you know how they always
- 3:39say that. Sometimes, hey, when you start talking to yourself,
- 3:42as one famous rapper said, hey, I talk to myself because I'm my own consultant, right?
- 3:49And that's what's happening to me not too long ago in the morning.
- 3:52I'm at work, and there's a lot of chatters.
- 3:56You know, I'm just in my mind. And then I see there's other chatters of other
- 4:00people, and for some reason.
- 4:02I thought that somebody, I overheard somebody that might have need help from
- 4:06my department on where I work at.
- 4:08And I'm like, did I hear that correctly? Maybe I'm bugging out.
- 4:12I just don't know. And I'm like, I'm asking a couple of questions here because
- 4:17I was having that type of morning.
- 4:19Because, you know, when we kind of wake up and we're not feeling good physically
- 4:22neither. Sometimes we're just not, you know, under the weather.
- 4:25And then it seems that your immune system is taking a shot. But sometimes it
- 4:29could be spiritually, mentally, whatever it is.
- 4:33That you just become sensitive, like your radar, like of everything.
- 4:36Like, what did you say? You were talking to me? No, no, I'm on the phone.
- 4:39I thought, I'm sorry. You know, one of those moments.
- 4:42So I reached out to a colleague in arms, and I kind of was like wondering,
- 4:48do you need my help or something like that? You know, I'm just curious here,
- 4:52you know, because I could have sworn.
- 4:54But interesting how that little moment of randomness, of life being life,
- 5:01where that moment, it's two people, two individuals.
- 5:06And then, you know, I'm reaching out to the, you know, to the individual and
- 5:09then, you know, to the colleague in arms and we're having a conversation or
- 5:12at least, you know, kind of like, hey, listen.
- 5:14And one thing that we agree on that, you know, little exchange is that sometimes,
- 5:18you know, we're going to have those rough mornings where everything seems like,
- 5:22okay, you know, you're trying to do so much.
- 5:25We get limited to physically, mentally, whatever it is that's going on.
- 5:29And then I start to think like, wow, because I'm going to say,
- 5:33listen, how do you start the day?
- 5:35If you start the day in some awesome, positive, whatever, not just positive,
- 5:41but just wanting to do something, wanting to just be out there.
- 5:46That's telling a lot to the day. And that's telling a lot to the people that
- 5:49you come across throughout the day.
- 5:52And in this individual, you know, in this case, we have a conversation and we
- 5:56kind of, you know, was in the same page.
- 5:59In regards to that belief. But then I start to realize, and I've made a comment,
- 6:04and the individual agreed, and it's like, you know what?
- 6:09As much as we, and even myself, we humans, sometimes we tend to not, how can I say it to you?
- 6:19You don't know what life you're changing, or you're helping, or you're saving.
- 6:23And sometimes I find myself in that situation, that I might be having a bad
- 6:29day, but just because you reach out to me,
- 6:31hey, I got, you know, who knows if I'm just having so much issues and this random
- 6:37person happy, whatever it is, hey, how are we doing today?
- 6:41That right there, that little gesture could change somebody's life.
- 6:43And I started to think, wow, this kind of reminds me to this other lesson in
- 6:48life. Once again, we are here.
- 6:51I think I'm going to do more than two lessons in this one Where,
- 6:54you know, we want to kind of start doing something positive Even something as
- 7:00simple as being grateful to the things,
- 7:03that we have That's around us Even if we're going through a little hardship
- 7:08or whatever Sometimes just the fact that you're waking up and breathing You'll
- 7:12be like, wow, that's a gift in itself.
- 7:16And that's actually an opportunity for one to do something about it.
- 7:20I'm breathing. What am I going to do?
- 7:22So it kind of reminded me of this thing that happened to me at the age of 11 and 12.
- 7:29That even at a young age and even as we get, let's say, more experience in life, as we get older,
- 7:38is that sometimes we get caught up in these moments that we know that perhaps
- 7:44we are in front of a life-changing moment or a life-saving.
- 7:48And at age 11 and 12, it started to kind of remind me, at least my memory,
- 7:55of one time I remember I was with my older brother and it looks like a friend of family.
- 8:00You know, they apparently, how can I say, had no kids?
- 8:04So they kind of like, you know, These elder folks need to help with the cutting
- 8:08grass and all that good stuff. So, you know, friends of the family,
- 8:12they reach out to my mother. Listen, you know, if it's summertime,
- 8:15if they can help, whatever. I'm like, hey, I'm down.
- 8:18That's about a long time ago, you know.
- 8:22What is, you know, $30 for someone who's like 11, 12 back in the early 90s?
- 8:28Maybe $40, I don't know. I'm trying to remember. But the fact is,
- 8:31there's this interesting moment. I'm with my older brother.
- 8:35So this couple picks us up, you know, with me in this pickup truck, if you will.
- 8:40And then I was just re-driving. And keep in mind, I was living in the Bronx.
- 8:43I was raising the Bronx. And, you know, at that time, I'm in the Bronx.
- 8:47And, hey, listen, I love the Bronx.
- 8:50But, wow, you know, I was living in some of the ghettos of all ghetto bronze places.
- 8:55So for this individual to take us to another site where there was these beautiful
- 9:01trees, that I always remember this, like it was yesterday.
- 9:05I'm somewhere. And, you know, just to kind of spoil it, we was in another side
- 9:10of the Bronx that was nice. The Bronx got some good, you know, nice neighborhood.
- 9:14So people out there that, you know, yo, the Bronx is ghetto,
- 9:16whatever. Hey, listen, everybody, everything is ghetto.
- 9:20The Bronx got some nice neighborhood, hardworking people, let's get it.
- 9:24As I'm over here in this parking lot, right there in the parking lot, there's a barbecue.
- 9:30And there was a convenience store that later becomes 7-Eleven.
- 9:33For those people that know 7-Eleven, you know how that goes.
- 9:36And I'm over here looking at this, and then again, to spoil it,
- 9:40I was in another beautiful, you know, in another beautiful part of the Bronx,
- 9:45and to me, everything was new, and I would just, wow, I'm actually in the Bronx. This is beautiful.
- 9:53This is where I love to be at. You know, it seems a little bit,
- 9:55you know, there's houses, there's buildings.
- 9:58I see the trains, you know, the train station, I just see something different and I'm feeling it.
- 10:04And I'm in this parking lot looking at the highway, there's some woods there,
- 10:09and I'm just feeling like there's a sense of something happening.
- 10:13But I'm young, I don't know how to explain it.
- 10:15I just know that something as if life, the universe, God, all the good stuff,
- 10:21we're going to compile everything.
- 10:24As if somebody was kind of telling you, David, do you see this area right here?
- 10:28Not only is it going to mean something to you, but it's going to save your life.
- 10:32Ladies and gentlemen, and those people in between, a couple of years later,
- 10:37it turned out to be that my high school would have been right across from the
- 10:43woods and the trees and the highway that I was looking at.
- 10:47And basically, I was foreseeing in my life, because the high school that I attended,
- 10:53and it was, it came in during a time where my family was, we had a hardship.
- 10:57We was living in the system.
- 11:00My mom's who I love to death, you know, single mother doing everything by herself.
- 11:04You know, you got young kids in high school and everything. And it's like you
- 11:09got to do a lot. So imagine that because my high school, the people that was
- 11:14there, the teachers, they helped me shape my life.
- 11:19So in this little episode of Deconstructing Topic Podcast, beautiful episode, legendary,
- 11:26is that sometimes we might not know consciously or subconsciously when we are
- 11:33saving our life or saving other persons, but ultimately saving your life.
- 11:38And sometimes those things can happen on a daily basis.
- 11:42That's why they say take it day by day. But sometimes that could happen in a
- 11:47moment and it might take time to manifest and it might take time to develop.
- 11:52And in this case, that's exactly what happened.
- 11:56And those reminders of what happened to me not long ago at work,
- 12:00having our little, you know, rough day,
- 12:04to coming across our colleagues in arms, where we kind of sharing,
- 12:08you know, this little, small little talk of, you know, philosophy and age.
- 12:14We know how sometimes rough, how rough life can be, especially in the morning.
- 12:18You know, we sense that, we know that.
- 12:21But sometimes it could be something before that happened to us,
- 12:25something presently, and perhaps something in the future where we're just going
- 12:29to bask there and look at something and we're just going to sense something that we don't know.
- 12:35And it could be anything that's going to trigger this emotion that's going to
- 12:38say, wow, I feel like there's a connection.
- 12:41And that day, you know, when I was 11, 12 years old in a parking lot,
- 12:46you just felt this connection like, what in the world is going on?
- 12:52You know, I felt it I always talk about that story,
- 12:57Because that happened to me long ago And it still makes an impact in my life
- 13:03Because it shaped the way And it got me to where I'm at at this point What am
- 13:08I going to do with that power?
- 13:10I got a podcast I'm talking to you I'm talking to many people I'm networking,
- 13:17Because what's in my hands now The power that I have is to help people.
- 13:22And at the end, and in turn, it also helps me.
- 13:27So that's what's going on on the Deconstructing Topic Podcast. Hit me up.
- 13:32If you feel like you want to reach out, tell a story or two where you felt that,
- 13:36and you just couldn't kind of pinpoint what it is, but then it turned out to
