- 0:00Speaker 1: All right, guys, here we are our lads to break
- 0:02Speaker 1: of the day. And Carlo, before we get out of here,
- 0:05Speaker 1: you had a question for Steve, right, yeah, how do
- 0:08Speaker 1: you show up for yourself every day? How do you
- 0:11Speaker 1: do it? Well?
- 0:13Speaker 2: I might as well use that as my closing remarks
- 0:15Speaker 2: because that's gonna take some explaining.
- 0:18Speaker 1: How do you show up every day for yourself?
- 0:22Speaker 2: You know? It kind of leads me to something I
- 0:26Speaker 2: was sharing with the young guy the other day. I
- 0:30Speaker 2: was on vacation and I was talking with him. Greatness
- 0:39Speaker 2: is a practice. Discipline is a practice. I'm saying that
- 0:52Speaker 2: to say that those two things which I aspire to.
- 0:58Speaker 1: I aspire to.
- 1:00Speaker 2: Greatness in whatever I'm attempting to do. I do aspire
- 1:04Speaker 2: to that. I do aspire to be disciplined. And discipline
- 1:08Speaker 2: for me is doing what you have to do even
- 1:11Speaker 2: when you don't want to. And those two things right
- 1:15Speaker 2: there are probably the core behind how it is I
- 1:20Speaker 2: show up every day. But you can train yourself to
- 1:24Speaker 2: be this way. You can train yourself to show up
- 1:29Speaker 2: every day because it's a practice. It becomes habit for me,
- 1:34Speaker 2: you know, people, I was watching The Last Dance by
- 1:37Speaker 2: Michael Jordan about Michael Jordan and the Bulls and all
- 1:39Speaker 2: this heit and so many people were critical of him.
- 1:43Speaker 1: I don't like the way he acted. He was a bully, he.
- 1:45Speaker 2: Was a tyrant. Well, you ain't never trying to be
- 1:48Speaker 2: great at nothing. And see, I could relate to the
- 1:52Speaker 2: whole thing because I've aspired to become really really good
- 1:58Speaker 2: at things before. And if you've ever done that, you're
- 2:03Speaker 2: going to rub regular people the wrong way. And when
- 2:08Speaker 2: I say regular people, I'm talking about people who have
- 2:12Speaker 2: put theirselfs in a position in life where they're comfortable
- 2:15Speaker 2: and they don't like being forced to be uncomfortable. So
- 2:19Speaker 2: when you come in with all these new shenanigans and
- 2:22Speaker 2: we're gonna buckle down and we're gonna hustle up, you
- 2:25Speaker 2: gonna get pushed back from people who want to remain comfortable.
- 2:31Speaker 2: And you cannot grow that way. You just cannot grow
- 2:36Speaker 2: staying comfortable. Everything I've ever wanted in my life was
- 2:40Speaker 2: on the other side of uncomfortable, and you got to
- 2:43Speaker 2: go through the uncomfortable to get there. But like I
- 2:46Speaker 2: was telling you, greatness and discipline is a practice. It's
- 2:51Speaker 2: very hard to find a person that's good at just
- 2:54Speaker 2: one thing and he ain't trying to be good at
- 2:56Speaker 2: everything else, because it's hard to turn it off once
- 3:00Speaker 2: you learn it, once you learned the benefits of discipline,
- 3:04Speaker 2: once you learned the benefits.
- 3:06Speaker 1: Of practicing to be great, hard to turn it off.
- 3:10Speaker 2: It's hard to turn it off because you know the
- 3:14Speaker 2: benefits of it. And so I show up every day.
- 3:18Speaker 2: But I've trained myself to be this way, and you
- 3:22Speaker 2: are if you're not that. First of all, let's take
- 3:24Speaker 2: a couple of things out the way. I trained myself
- 3:28Speaker 2: to be a morning person because that was a point
- 3:31Speaker 2: early in my life.
- 3:31Speaker 1: What I did. Now, a guy named John Walker out
- 3:33Speaker 1: of Rochester, New York took that out of me.
- 3:36Speaker 2: And I didn't know at the time that I would
- 3:39Speaker 2: we would all be morning drive people for over twenty
- 3:42Speaker 2: five years. I never knew that, And thank God he
- 3:46Speaker 2: took that out of me. And thank God that God
- 3:49Speaker 2: put John Walker in my life in my past, because
- 3:52Speaker 2: God knew I was gonna be on morning drive for
- 3:55Speaker 2: over twenty five years. So I became a morning person.
- 3:59Speaker 2: When you hear a person and say I'm not a
- 4:01Speaker 2: morning person, watch out, be very careful because morning is
- 4:06Speaker 2: the gold. Ain't it your goal to wake up tomorrow morning.
- 4:10Speaker 2: So why would you put that on yourself by saying
- 4:12Speaker 2: I'm not a morning person. You're gonna mess around and
- 4:15Speaker 2: make your wish come true one day. You ain't gonna
- 4:17Speaker 2: be here one morning, Tada. I would never put that
- 4:22Speaker 2: on me. I'm not a morning person.
- 4:25Speaker 1: You know.
- 4:25Speaker 2: You hear people all they tell I just don't like
- 4:28Speaker 2: I just don't like heat. Okay, but what about when
- 4:32Speaker 2: it's hot outside. I'm appreciative of God of every single
- 4:37Speaker 2: day I get.
- 4:38Speaker 1: I don't care if it's raining.
- 4:40Speaker 2: I fish in the rain, you know what, Because I
- 4:44Speaker 2: love fishing so much, and it rains a lot of
- 4:47Speaker 2: times in Georgia.
- 4:49Speaker 1: I bought a rain suit so I could fish while.
- 4:52Speaker 2: It was raining. See well that rain. I don't like
- 4:56Speaker 2: to sound to rain. It's gonna rain, It's what you mean.
- 5:03Speaker 2: I don't like heat. It's finn to be hot. It's
- 5:06Speaker 2: called summer. I don't like it cold outside. It's winter.
- 5:13Speaker 2: It's finna be cold every day in a row. Get
- 5:17Speaker 2: yourself some jackets, some sweaters and scarfs, some gloves, some hats,
- 5:20Speaker 2: and get out there and get on with your day.
- 5:23Speaker 2: And I'm that way because I've practiced being that way,
- 5:27Speaker 2: I'm so grateful for every he gives me that I
- 5:31Speaker 2: don't care what the day got in it.
- 5:34Speaker 1: I've even grown to be comfortable with my problems.
- 5:38Speaker 2: When I get a challenge, put it in front of me,
- 5:40Speaker 2: I know it's God trying to show me something, so
- 5:43Speaker 2: I deal with it. It's like Junior asked me every day,
- 5:46Speaker 2: how do you just deal with stuff you've never dealt
- 5:49Speaker 2: with before? Well, I get up and I go through it,
- 5:51Speaker 2: and then I put that over in the experienced pile
- 5:54Speaker 2: because now if that ever happens again, I've now done
- 5:57Speaker 2: it and now I know how to get through it.
- 5:59Speaker 2: So see everything that happens to you as a benefit.
- 6:03Speaker 2: Stop looking at your life is oh woe is me?
- 6:07Speaker 2: No man, Oh glory is me. The fact that you
- 6:11Speaker 2: made it through every rough day you've ever had in
- 6:14Speaker 2: your life, don't you see that it was God bringing
- 6:17Speaker 2: you through, teaching you stuff. Man, Come on, start practicing greatness,
- 6:23Speaker 2: start practicing discipline. You can train yourself to be that.
- 6:27Speaker 2: It's up to you. The Bible says a man is
- 6:30Speaker 2: as he thinkth get the thinking different, and you'll get
- 6:33Speaker 2: to be in different.
- 6:34Speaker 1: Those are my clothes. Yes, you didn't like.
- 6:37Speaker 2: That one, well, try it again and then have a
- 6:41Speaker 2: great come.
