- 1:02Hello everyone and welcome back to another episode of I was
- 1:06thinking I'm Simone and I'm Brianna.
- 1:08And yeah, I already said welcome back to another episode.
- 1:11I got it better. My introductions I like never
- 1:14know what to say like a catchy jingle or something.
- 1:19Something I don't know. But yeah, we're back.
- 1:24There's no reason why they should have sold out of the tour
- 1:28Merch. This is why you're here, and
- 1:31she's gonna get sad. Now, this is because I got, I
- 1:35got no permission to dance merch.
- 1:39Nothing. I'm the I did get a photo card
- 1:42book so I can put my photo cards in there.
- 1:44That says permission to dance in a cute picture, but as far as
- 1:47like a T-shirt, nothing hoodie, what what is that?
- 1:51Korea should dance, I got The only thing I was able to get was
- 1:55map of the Soul stuff because apparently no one wanted to buy
- 1:58that. So I got you like long sleeve
- 2:00shirt, the tour hoodie and another shirt from map of the
- 2:04soul. But like you would have thought.
- 2:06I went to the map of Seoul concert and not the permission
- 2:09to dance concert and like I know I showed up late for both of
- 2:13them because I wasn't going to, I'm sorry I wasn't going to wait
- 2:17in line for a t-shirt. All right, you know, myself I
- 2:21would start as I would have started some fights just from
- 2:24Irritated tired and hungry. And I'm not going to waste like
- 2:28ruin my chances of State the concert because I'm cranky, and
- 2:33I finally have enough even if they even ran out of army bomb.
- 2:36Yes. And like, I felt so bad for
- 2:38precious little sister Zaria, because it's really all she
- 2:41wanted for the concert. And she wasn't able to get any
- 2:44like, even k-pops Wars we went to in the city.
- 2:47I mean, we only went to one but like they didn't have any
- 2:50either. I couldn't even use mine and
- 2:52I'll tell you when we get to the actual concert.
- 2:54Assert that. But that was my own dumbass
- 2:56fault. Why?
- 2:57I couldn't use my Army bomb but I just felt so bad for her.
- 3:00She wasn't able to buy like one for herself so and they were
- 3:04sold out even before we got to La.
- 3:06Like so now we never see. It's yes we verse and I mean I
- 3:10get it everybody flooded to Weaver's to get their stuff
- 3:14because a lot of the, I think everything, even the permission
- 3:17of dance merch on WE verse was sold out on, on it was, it was
- 3:22nothing. So on the opposite.
- 3:24Fact, from Simone, my sister and I went at seven, so we actually
- 3:28got to La the night before. So during day ones concert, we
- 3:33got there and three, you know. Sorry, I think these concert, we
- 3:36got there. Sometimes, I want to see the his
- 3:38want to be like day. What?
- 3:39But it's technically like day three days.
- 3:42A yeah, December 1st. We got there.
- 3:45December 1st. We went from LAX to our hotel,
- 3:49real fast. Drop that stuff off and came
- 3:51straight to the venue because we were like, all right?
- 3:54Right. We're going to be good.
- 3:55We're going to get our merge tonight while they're inside.
- 3:58Singing it up. We're going to be outside
- 3:59spending money, right? So we get up there and we get to
- 4:03the front of the stadium. So, the very front that's facing
- 4:05the form. I think that's the front if it
- 4:07isn't, sorry. Uh-huh.
- 4:08And we walk the, I don't think I even experienced the whole
- 4:11stadium because I know there was a huge sign were like that said,
- 4:14permission to dance. And I wanted to take a picture
- 4:16of it, but like, just the way things were going on my child.
- 4:18This place is too big. I like that line was like four
- 4:21hours long. Take a picture with a side.
- 4:22I was like, no nothing. Go look for it.
- 4:26I don't have that kind of time, I don't, but we walked to the
- 4:29first tent. We saw was one of the big
- 4:31Express ones. And you know, we noticed a lot
- 4:34of that stuff was kind of gone. They I should have bought my
- 4:36pictures that night like the giant like pictures that they
- 4:40were selling, but whatever, I'll kick myself later and we ask
- 4:43like, hey do you guys have Smalls?
- 4:46Because that's what we were looking for, small shirt,
- 4:47whatever for permission to dance and like oh we sold out of all
- 4:50the permission to dance stuff and I was like, oh well at least
- 4:53those shirts. It's and I said, well, you know,
- 4:56are you going to have them tomorrow?
- 4:57And he goes oh yeah, we're going to restock tomorrow.
- 4:59So I was like, okay cool. I guess we're just gonna end up
- 5:01having to come here early. But me being me.
- 5:04I was like, let me buy some stuff now.
- 5:06So I bought one permission to dance hoodie because that was
- 5:09the only permission to dance thing they had.
- 5:11And then a map of the Soul shirt for one of my friends and we
- 5:15asked for Army bomb. Sorry, were sold out and that
- 5:17was when I gave the look of like you're sold out of art, right?
- 5:21Because like how before we started recording I like how you
- 5:24said, oh, I'll just get the stuff tomorrow.
- 5:26So, like after day three of the content, we actually did go into
- 5:30the merch line, but it was only to get Daria an army bomb
- 5:34because we thought they had more, we didn't know they were
- 5:36sold out. So like I already saw there was
- 5:38some signs on some stuff that said, you know, sold out but
- 5:41like they were still quite a few so I was like standing in line
- 5:44after I think we asked her like the Grapevine of like people in
- 5:47front of us. If they had more Army bombs they
- 5:49told us. No, I was like, okay well well
- 5:51even though the plants didn't change because something
- 5:54Actually happened to be. We'll get to that again a little
- 5:56bit later. I was like, okay, so maybe we'll
- 6:00just have to try to get here earlier to see if we can get
- 6:03started Army bomb. And this I like took a mental
- 6:06note of the numbers of the stuff that I wanted.
- 6:08So I once I get to the line, I could just tell him, you know,
- 6:09sighs this merchandise and then go didn't think they would sell
- 6:14out, but I had the same mindset as you like, I'll just get this
- 6:16tomorrow, right? I mean, like I said, the only
- 6:20thing I have to go back on is MetLife like MetLife.
- 6:24They had two days. Again, half the amount but they
- 6:28didn't sell out anything. Like they had everything.
- 6:30I was able to get everything on my list that I wanted Army bomb.
- 6:34Merch pictures, Flags, whatever. So it was again very shocking.
- 6:39They knew they had four days. They knew a lot of people were
- 6:42coming and I think again, when we came that night, we didn't
- 6:45realize that they weren't checking tickets.
- 6:48I didn't even occur to me actually walking up there that
- 6:51they didn't have take checking them yet.
- 6:53I did it go. Go to, like, the main merch
- 6:55booth at MetLife because we got our merch.
- 6:57It was one of the ones where you're already inside the
- 6:59stadium. So like they did not Jax.
- 7:01That's why, when you kept saying that I'm like I didn't get asked
- 7:03if I had tickets for MetLife but then I was like, we went to need
- 7:07it. Yeah I don't I mean I don't
- 7:08know. I went to a merch Booth I was
- 7:10inside stadia again, 30 years old, I do remember you had to go
- 7:20through a security checkpoint which again So if I didn't do
- 7:25until you got inside the stadium MetLife, there was a like a
- 7:29turnstile kind of area where you walk through and they check your
- 7:33bags and stuff like that just to get into the parking lot to buy
- 7:36Merch. This was before you get into the
- 7:38venue. So I'm pretty sure, I'm 99% sure
- 7:42they did check like tickets and stuff before we got in there for
- 7:45MetLife. But I mean, so Phi.
- 7:48I bought what the little things that I had to buy and then we
- 7:52just kind of were like, all right, there's an in and out.
- 7:53Right next door, let's go hang out there.
- 7:55Which again, mistake number one was just went home, should I
- 7:59just went back to that hotel there?
- 8:01Because we have like an hour left or not even about 30
- 8:04minutes before you guys got done before and we just like get in
- 8:07and out real fast and leave. No, which comes to problem
- 8:12number. I don't know what number where
- 8:13I'm I just I really I enjoyed that concert so much and again,
- 8:20it was the very actually, that was the first time I had been
- 8:24around that many people since actually.
- 8:27Eric, nam's concert was the last one I went to before the sole
- 8:30ended. Yeah, same with me.
- 8:31That was. All right.
- 8:32Both of our last concert. It was, it wasn't as big but
- 8:35it's just like that Concert Experience to people seeing
- 8:38their favorite people. Right to see if, you know, to
- 8:41see somebody like you said, you like, it was the first time and
- 8:45it was it was so nice too. Just be out and to be around
- 8:49people who love the same thing to sing songs, you know, that
- 8:53you said, was listening to, like, in your headphones, is
- 8:56that about well with people. And then, like, seriously
- 8:59freaked out. Lie, don't bring up karaoke with
- 9:02this so bad. I'm ready for round two, though.
- 9:05I'm ready. You ready?
- 9:07Whenever you're ready. We can have our own little
- 9:10concert. Will do more BTS songs though
- 9:12because we to do as many will we win, but we weren't used to that
- 9:16set up yet so So, yes, we do not know how to work it, but now
- 9:19that we know, I we ready. Yes.
- 9:22I'm here for we can sing again and get 99% because we know, we
- 9:27got 100 kudos to them for what? Three hours, two hours, I mean,
- 9:42and they did all ot7 songs and I said, like, being back, they
- 9:46wanted to do Songs was like yeah, I give kudos to them and
- 9:50like the song says that did to, you know, a lot of had hard
- 9:53choreography. Yes.
- 9:54You choreography for all of them but the ones that they do they
- 9:57know how hard it was and they had shout out to the lab for
- 10:00showing up and, and doing on and doing permission to dance and
- 10:04doing all the coreos that required, you know, large groups
- 10:07of people. They really came out and they
- 10:09really they put on a shirt and soul into this and it was so
- 10:13apparent and it was so nice to see that they really It meant a
- 10:18lot for them to be in front of fans again.
- 10:21And, you know, like I said, we did the gym thing.
- 10:23Shout out to all the armies who I mean it had to have taken
- 10:27hours some upset, I got there late because I guess the gate
- 10:31that I got into, that's when they're the girl was giving out
- 10:34the things. Also sharp, shout out to that
- 10:36Army who planned that whole thing.
- 10:38So he's there were two, there was one that did the black Army
- 10:42bomb, cover us for the moon and then the hard ones and the Heart
- 10:46with Jeff. The minute.
- 10:48I mean, we saw her out there for hours but boxes, I mean, four
- 10:52five six boxes and she was just making sure everybody got one.
- 10:56I mean, it was, it was a, it was so nice.
- 11:00And I, like I said, it was the first time I was like in a
- 11:02concert space like celebrating like the artist.
- 11:05I'm seeing his birthday like that was pretty cool.
- 11:08And like he was young emotional. Like I remember when he first
- 11:10saw, I don't know what he saw first.
- 11:12It was the hardest, was it the moon's first Yankee the heart.
- 11:16I think. Jake, Okay.
- 11:17Actually pointed out the hearts them.
- 11:20I know. Wait when they came out dressed
- 11:21in white first, right? So it was after they did like
- 11:24Saint maybe the hearts first. I think it was nice that they
- 11:27saw first and then they saw the moon's because I remember that
- 11:30he was dressed in full white and they came out dressed in full
- 11:33white first for the, for the heart.
- 11:35So, yeah, it was, it was nice, it was so sweet.
- 11:39And yeah. Like he said, he's like, I
- 11:40didn't want to get emotional because, you know, I still have
- 11:43all conscious to go with it. I don't think I ever saw him
- 11:45that emotional. Like I saw saw When they showed
- 11:48him, I was like, oh my God, he's already like giddy, teared up.
- 11:52Then he came out there with a little RJ, tied, to his head,
- 11:55and that's when they did the moon, and let me play Guess, and
- 11:57that's what we successfully. Did the Army, wave better than
- 12:02day, three of us. Bring that up again, like to
- 12:08reinstate that I was dared a for.
- 12:10So we didn't screw up as much as date, hurry, I don't know what
- 12:15why we couldn't get this. Down.
- 12:19The first of all, I was, I was always kind of like with MetLife
- 12:22with the confusion of delight. So like when they're talking
- 12:25about all, we're going to do like the wave.
- 12:28I need you to get your light. I think looking at my light
- 12:30right? Yeah.
- 12:31Well, I think he just said, I need you, get your lights out
- 12:33and then some people were getting their camera.
- 12:34Like yeah. He's like I met your Army bombs
- 12:36and that brought me back to MetLife.
- 12:38We do micro Massey. Remember that we're here, I put
- 12:42up your lights, we all put up for our meals.
- 12:44He's like me. We're not gonna follow
- 12:50instructions. You're really now we all really
- 12:54do share like one brain cell it it's amazing when I know you but
- 12:58like for some reason in this setting we all share one brain
- 13:01cell. Yep. 100% like on day 3.
- 13:05And like, I don't know if we were even practicing before or
- 13:09not because, you know, sometimes when like, during when the
- 13:11waiter beginning, or like this waiting during like the
- 13:14animation before, like that. Yes.
- 13:16The what is it called? The on your we do it randomly at
- 13:21least here in America. I don't know if any other places
- 13:23they go to do it randomly I just know every time in America for
- 13:26some reason. Yeah we're supposed to do the
- 13:28wave a little bit too much. Point, but I didn't say it
- 13:51again. I'm offering you all a defense
- 13:52because I get, I don't know what day three was like, but I'm bad.
- 13:57It's hard to see. And again, this is different
- 13:59from MetLife, MetLife. We could look up and yes, you
- 14:01can see anybody left for so Phi. I don't know how it looked from
- 14:07the people below us, but we up to a certain point could not
- 14:10see, like once it reached like like maybe the middle of the
- 14:13stage area at the lights disappeared and we were just
- 14:15going off of what Like what when he got closer to us, like you
- 14:20just kind of had to assume so that could have possibly been
- 14:23it, but you floor people. You had no excuse, like, I could
- 14:26see the people in my, like, section in the same section
- 14:29around with me. But like and obviously I'm
- 14:31higher up so I could see the floor.
- 14:32So I don't know if the people looking up, could do the same or
- 14:34not but like I remember when they first started, you know how
- 14:37they give us instructions. Like okay we're going to start
- 14:39on this side, it go all the way around so I can we count down
- 14:42get ready and it's some people actually started before he's
- 14:45like they're like no no wait you guys Gotta Wait?
- 14:47We tell you to go, so like of course they turn off the lights
- 14:51and then the countdown, and then they start.
- 14:54And then at first, it was fine. But then like for some reason,
- 14:57like chaos floor started going faster than like, the 500
- 15:00started going slowing down in the middle, was like, I don't
- 15:03know where the good ones and you can kind of hear it, the voices.
- 15:06They're like, yeah, you guys finish the color.
- 15:16Also, Like try that again. You were a little too fast.
- 15:24Yeah, there's more sections. Higher up than you guys.
- 15:27So maybe maybe this next time, just to slow down a little bit.
- 15:31So we'll start out the other side.
- 15:33Let's see how other side and then back around.
- 15:38So then like we do it again and like it was I don't know how it
- 15:42got worse but like it just got worse.
- 15:46Like I feel like it's The 500 section like five minutes to
- 15:49start again, started off. Well, it did like the floor
- 15:52kinda just wet and then it was like the 100.
- 15:54So it's kind of like a weird like way following each other
- 15:58and this place Konami to see all their faces and then like some
- 16:03of them are making noises and one God be laughing.
- 16:05So hard was like non-jew kind of took a second.
- 16:09He's see that like awkward smile, he does.
- 16:11Sometimes he side. He's like okay.
- 16:14Anyway I think we're going to go ahead and move on.
- 16:17I tell you what, he said that. So passive-aggressively I wanted
- 16:23to die, I could have stopped laughing.
- 16:26I was literally, like, hunched over because I was laughing so
- 16:31hard. Anyway, the okay.
- 16:33Anyway, the give us the Decay. Anyway, let's move on that.
- 16:37Got me because it's like with you have little kids, and, like
- 16:43things show you stuff randomly, you kind of have to sit there
- 16:46like You okay. Yeah, I saw in that light.
- 16:51So like I thought it was cute, but like I just never saw them
- 16:55Soul, like, passively aggressively disappointed.
- 16:58Oh, so funny. I'll never forget that when they
- 17:01got to that again, we all kind of knew what happened.
- 17:03A three were like, all right, let's not mess this up, guys.
- 17:07Oh, so bad. I don't know if it was so weird.
- 17:11Oh, so it was great. He told that floor, specifically
- 17:14like y'all don't go too fast. I was traumatized 433.
- 17:19He's like, okay floor. We discussed this yesterday.
- 17:22Hey, slow, it down young. My God.
- 17:28It was great. It was.
- 17:29So it was sunny, such a good night.
- 17:32It was such a good night, but yes.
- 17:34We, so let's get it. So we did that and then, I
- 17:37wasn't expecting it either. Because I didn't know if the
- 17:39stadium or like ha hype. / big hit plan anything for jeans.
- 17:44But like, you hear it on my phone to, like, after I kind of
- 17:47Like all the waves like finishing at the end and then
- 17:50all of a sudden, lights up, happy Jin.
- 17:52They I just scream like how is cute.
- 17:54Yeah, that was so cute and like everyone was so confused and we
- 17:58all just start like screaming and like see happy birthday to.
- 18:01I was like, oh this is so sweet. That was sweet.
- 18:04It was so he was it was just it was such a nice and I'm glad
- 18:07again that we got to do that for him.
- 18:10And then, of course, the next day, what does he throw out?
- 18:13Super toy. Can you he's so lucky that that
- 18:19came out the day after the concert because had it come out
- 18:23during concert? I think it would have been so I
- 18:26mean as crazy and probably like why in the world that I throw
- 18:30this on the internet than he is right now at home.
- 18:32Yeah. And would be crazier than I
- 18:34still think. He's like, why did I put the
- 18:36song out? Because I don't know if he knew
- 18:38it was gonna blow up as it did. Like, it's insane this point and
- 18:42at this is another thing, I'm going to say about them, we we
- 18:45stand our humble Kings, but don't you Star, no, dude,
- 18:49namjoo. No, I got a bone to pick with
- 18:51you about saying, what I like have you.
- 18:54You've been on social media? You know how we are.
- 18:58Don't you show up? And say, I didn't think, we'd be
- 19:01loved, or nobody. Which I got.
- 19:04Did you pay? Did you not see Ticketmaster
- 19:07trending about how pissed off? We are.
- 19:09The tickets can't be like, what do I do with this?
- 19:15I love how. I don't know if I should say.
- 19:17That's helpful. Or is it like a?
- 19:19Like, you know, you have backhanded compliments.
- 19:21It wasn't like, rude. It was like a humble.
- 19:23Brag. Think it was a backhanded
- 19:25compliment. I really think he meant that.
- 19:27It's a humble brag, but still coming off as humble.
- 19:31Like, I don't, maybe I should have said backhanded compliment,
- 19:34but it's like, it's a humble brag while he was crying and
- 19:38still try and witty talk. Like, I could tell they really
- 19:41mean it. And I'm like, yes, do you guys?
- 19:44I beat, I understand your start. You got here was rough but do
- 19:49you see where you are now? Like, we all the main reason.
- 19:53A lot of people love you guys is because you are humble, but then
- 19:55sometimes it's kind of like, do you know who you are all the
- 20:01time? Do you know, BTS?
- 20:02Do you know busy and I feel like and I'm gonna bring up again.
- 20:10No spoilers, just Spider-Man. But what MJ says all the time.
- 20:15If you expect this appointment, then you You, you know what
- 20:17happens? You won't be disappointed.
- 20:19Maybe it's a little bit of that. Like if you expect the worst,
- 20:22then when the worst happens, you won't be disappointed.
- 20:24Like I know Fame is fleeting but you can't tell me in the past
- 20:29year. Getting number one on Billboard.
- 20:31However, many times getting the ujima nation, getting the record
- 20:36for most YouTube views. Yeah.
- 20:38Nice Weiss. Not one case.
- 20:41And now you're still saying like I didn't think we shall I get
- 20:45get here book. About this in the car.
- 20:54I said that I think in my video I have I have him.
- 20:56I think I have him saying that I'm the, I said no really
- 21:01worried that like when you said that I was like, do I get out of
- 21:06here with that? I didn't Ali.
- 21:08I love you. I love you and keep that
- 21:10humility. But you know, we would shout for
- 21:13this. You know, we're showing up
- 21:15especially the new fans. You guys magically gather from
- 21:19Dynamite? Yeah.
- 21:20Butter and Michigan. Yeah.
- 21:22Like it's just out of this world at this point.
- 21:25Yes. Oh yeah.
- 21:26Like I said and all the ice at I think pretty much everyone.
- 21:30I sat next to was a new Army really like the girl from
- 21:35Australia, think pretty sure she was a new Army the girl on the
- 21:39other side of my sister relatively new Army.
- 21:42I think she said she was why me? I still consider Dynamite like a
- 21:46new arm. I mean, I You know, if I'm
- 21:47really considered new at this point anymore or not where were
- 21:50you? You are still in love yourself
- 21:52era and just want to MetLife. Yeah, I was 2010, demek Army.
- 21:57Put it that way. Okay, I was late 2018.
- 21:59Yeah, you're not a pendant so there's there's pandemic.
- 22:01That's what I consider new armies are the pandemic armies,
- 22:04the one teacher lot into BTS, with their English songs,
- 22:08primarily and with dynamite because like they were still
- 22:10kind of when I got into them, they were kind of, you know,
- 22:12still kind of blow it up to the in America, but not to this
- 22:16extent. That they are this out that they
- 22:18were just like, oh, there's something cool going on across
- 22:21the seas. Let's invent them or kind of
- 22:22like talking about them like, oh, my ts like this is kind of
- 22:25new like we should. Yeah.
- 22:27Right them over, something like that.
- 22:29Well, I got his YouTube, I can use right now to find it.
- 22:34I'm and again, as as an older Army and again, as a multi stand
- 22:38it. It's and I said this in our
- 22:40last, not last, maybe you did one of the podcast that I was
- 22:44in. It's been such a cool thing.
- 22:47To see the growth that Kpop has had it since I've gotten into
- 22:52it, which again was back in like the 2009-2010 era to now, I
- 22:57mean, you can't even compare like I was telling you had to
- 23:00like search. I did until I didn't talk about
- 23:02this when me and Macey did like 21.
- 23:05Because like I was saying some stuff of like things that came
- 23:07out that never Shone the light of day and like I keep
- 23:10forgetting, like it was almost kind of hard if you are in the
- 23:14Korea to really find this stuff, not even just like The
- 23:17technology that we have like you see shipping prices put it that
- 23:20way. I mean, not that that's changed
- 23:22a lot but there will, ya like you ever store right?
- 23:26Like there was no u.s. store where you could pay still $20
- 23:30and shipping, but at least it wasn't 50 like, you know, for
- 23:32like you couldn't go into Walmart to find like a Kpop, my
- 23:35God, Walmart, who would have thought my God.
- 23:38No. So and it was funny, I'm talking
- 23:41to you, I was talking to my friend kailen who stands 80s,
- 23:44that's her old group. And we were talking about Now
- 23:47back in the day when, you know, Pandora was our primary source
- 23:51of Music brought that up on the like when we first introduced
- 23:54you as a leaflet because I actually how you got into it.
- 23:57Kpop, is it that was it? Like you didn't know I was back
- 24:00before, you know, learning names and learning groups, it was just
- 24:03like, oh it's show up and again it was Bo that would show up for
- 24:05me and then I made a boa station, then you had girls gen
- 24:0821, all these groups would show up and I didn't even make the
- 24:12connection, the difference between Japanese and Korean it
- 24:14was just like, oh, this is cool, right?
- 24:16Um, and I And I will say, you know, new G-Dragon was new, Big
- 24:20Bang new, all those big groups because as an anime fan, you
- 24:24kind of mix in with like Kpop and all that stuff.
- 24:28A lot of anime fans, love kpop. And for the reason of, when you
- 24:31listen to anime openings at least back, when Pandora was a
- 24:34thing, you'd get recommendations for because that's when they all
- 24:37kind of group, basically, every a stage exactly together.
- 24:47Kailyn and she's like, you know, member when you had to go to
- 24:49LimeWire to download any type of music.
- 24:51I mean, that was that was true for, you know, American stuff
- 24:54too. But you know, to find Kpop
- 24:57stuff. You couldn't go on to.
- 24:58I really go on iTunes and you couldn't go on to it with now.
- 25:01I'm aging myself Rapid City and find and find these songs.
- 25:07Like you really had to Deep dive and go on to the illegal
- 25:10websites, to find them. And it really wasn't until it
- 25:14really wasn't until Psy with Gangnam Style that It started to
- 25:17be like, what's going on over there?
- 25:19For a lot of Americans and inviting them over.
- 25:22Like I said, I will never forget.
- 25:24I think it was 2012, don't quote me when girls gen went on a
- 25:28David lover, Letterman and perform the boys.
- 25:30And I was like what, you know, like, oh my God, no, those huge.
- 25:35So it's so awesome to be able to like, to just say, to people,
- 25:39oh, I'm going to a BTS concert again, you have the handful I
- 25:41who or I'll wow. They're they're actually
- 25:44performing here are like looks like we had group, right?
- 25:47No. Oh my God, I'm hurryin.
- 25:56But sure. Actually that happened to me
- 25:58this past week was God. Bless her.
- 26:00I love her. One of the people I work with
- 26:02she was like, oh, are those Chinese poison?
- 26:05In my heart just went. Yeah, the Korean guys are
- 26:09around. People were at least they know
- 26:11their careers. So like they'll just say Korean
- 26:14boys and I'm like, actually these are grown ass man.
- 26:16But That was an interesting one but
- 26:41it's been so the that I never would have thought back in 2015.
- 26:472014 getting into BTS that I would have been able to go to
- 26:50two of their concerts again. Never would have thought outside
- 26:54of cake on and and random little events that they have that they
- 26:58would be performing here. Doing tour sold out, right?
- 27:02And stadiums like we fight stadiums beating out are almost
- 27:06beating out Bruce or did they beat Bruce Springsteen's record?
- 27:10I forgot what that was of the amount of money made in
- 27:14thinkthey. I know, I heard they be Eat
- 27:17someone's record by little. They just I think they're just
- 27:20under Bruce Springsteen. But again Springsteen did
- 27:23multiple shows all around the country, this is for days.
- 27:27So that's saying something in one location for a.
- 27:29I mean, who would have thought if you'd asked anybody a few
- 27:34years ago with this have happened, I think everybody
- 27:36would have looked human like, nah, you know, it was a
- 27:39segmented group of people and now you pretty much everybody,
- 27:43unless you live under a rock, which apparently there's still
- 27:45people that do nose. So at least BTS.
- 27:49Yeah and I'm glad and I'm happy to see all these other groups
- 27:53coming and trying to like Monsta X has been doing a lot of stuff.
- 27:57Nct's, been trying to come and break it up.
- 27:59Obviously with super mm. They've been trying to come in.
- 28:01Its, I mean I love it. I love it and here's to Old It
- 28:06Fun. Like, with all the dancers,
- 28:12there is one song. That's I mean, I say it's like a
- 28:15BTS song, but it's not really a beauty.
- 28:17I saw that. I know, I will never ever see a
- 28:21person. What do you want them thinking?
- 28:24What are you thinking? Not go ahead and say what you're
- 28:25gonna say. I'm not gonna say come back
- 28:27home. Oh okay.
- 28:28No, it's not. The only guy was, what do you
- 28:30think? I was gonna say?
- 28:34It's a forbidden request that he told me once we're done
- 28:37recording old army work. I'll tell you when we get Yeah.
- 28:40Okay I would really like to see come back home even though, I
- 28:42know I would never ever sleep. Come back home.
- 28:45I would like to see some things for black dark and wild.
- 28:47Maybe let's get second grade. I got a beer second grade.
- 28:51Yeah, I would say yes. Danger - what would you call it?
- 28:59What what what you said earlier I said, danger know that if I
- 29:02won what do you say? How do you say it?
- 29:05Its final Ceaselessly. Please keep saying that.
- 29:17It's my favorite. Somebody's hungry, go to
- 29:26Chick-fil-A, is what you want. Anyway, that's really, I think
- 29:34what we played the game. I called it fillet.
- 29:36It's my bad. It's great.
- 29:39Now that's gonna. That is now the official name I
- 29:41call it. Hip-hop fillet.
- 29:43So. So the concert was great, it was
- 29:50great seeing them again. Even though I was high up, you
- 29:52know, I was still there, I got to experience it, it's fine.
- 29:55I will manifest pray for, especially if they come to
- 29:59Florida, I will get those four seats and see, but that was
- 30:02another thing I was thinking about, like, I want floor but I
- 30:06don't I don't know if I want to be close enough to of any of
- 30:09them can see me because of them won't.
- 30:14Okay, of course, I will record some things.
- 30:18Like I like going to concerts to dance.
- 30:20So I kind of feel like if especially if my song comes on.
- 30:24And if any of them kind of see be dancing and acknowledge me, I
- 30:29might kind of just dig a hole right where I'm standing and
- 30:33just be fine for it. Like I said, I have touched
- 30:37hands with 80s. I have screamed big titties at
- 30:40Eric. The only other concert I've been
- 30:43to that, I haven't been able to make I was all for but didn't
- 30:47they weren't able to see? Amy was NCT if I get fluoride
- 30:51BTS and close enough to where if I'm dancing like a lunatic and
- 30:55they Point me out, I will live for it.
- 30:58I will live. If you look for it and like get
- 31:00embarrassed but like no, you don't know
- 31:12what you're doing. Create a meme or I can be
- 31:27noticed, remembered whatever. Yeah, I remember when we were
- 31:34like online for the first half of 2021.
- 31:39Was it or 2022? 2022.
- 31:41It was so boring and lonely, but like, it's nice to be able to go
- 31:45in at least. See people visit, not 2020, huh?
- 31:48Was it not 2020 or you talking about?
- 31:51I'm talking about 2020 because that was the first time they
- 31:54moved school to online, like completely, okay?
- 31:57You said, you didn't know if it was 20 21 or 20, 22, and just
- 32:00started 20 22, and make sure. Ulong.
- 32:04Listen, wasn't, what is my catchphrase?
- 32:12Take a shot every time she says that would be blacked out for,
- 32:16like, five days. Did you defeat?
- 32:20So, I'm sorry. I will say, though, I feel like
- 32:26people's behavior has been improving ever, so slightly, but
- 32:30it is improving like you don't hear a lot of cases of people
- 32:33just, you know, hurling themselves at someone else
- 32:35because someone said, no. Customer service industry.
- 32:42I'm not so sure. I agree with that.
- 32:45People are so trigger-happy or maybe I'm just not paying
- 32:49attention to the news. I don't know.
- 32:50Have you have you ever worked a customer service job the feasts,
- 32:55huh? That's not that.
- 32:56What have you ever worked a customer service job, like, in a
- 32:59restaurant or like retail? No, I take that back.
- 33:03I think it was this year when I saw when I saw video of the lady
- 33:07throwing like soup in somebody's face.
- 33:09Ace. I think that was this year.
- 33:11Never mind scratch that. Yeah, yeah, he hasn't gotten
- 33:19better. It's gotten worse but to answer
- 33:21your question. No, I have not.
- 33:22Okay, I don't think I would last in that kind of job.
- 33:25Honestly, my anxiety would take over and I'd like Panic all the
- 33:28time. It's seriously a surprise that
- 33:30I'm still here the stuff that's like people I think I have like
- 33:37one of those like Is that people, like can't yell at me
- 33:42but people are definitely rude. Like, I've never had somebody
- 33:44scream at me, well, on the phone, I have when I worked it.
- 33:49I because I did the insurance thing to just home insurance,
- 33:53not health insurance, but and I answered the phones and I've had
- 33:57people scream at me on there, but as far as like somebody and
- 34:01like that, I'm checking them out like at a store and I haven't
- 34:05had anybody scream at me, but people are really rude.
- 34:07I read a very passive aggressive, so So because like
- 34:11they get defeated I've learned to like you still kind of have
- 34:14to try to talk to them with a smile because it that's their
- 34:18way of like getting Giving Up. So they do they like are not
- 34:21getting under your skin but it's still hard because like, you
- 34:24know, I want to cut back on YouTube but I can't, I could but
- 34:29try not to lose his job to pay my bills.
- 34:32Yeah, I kind of just pretend like they're not yelling at me
- 34:35like I talk to them how I would if they weren't yelling at me.
- 34:38So I'm like So sad just chill out as you're not going to get a
- 34:42response from me. That's the best way to handle
- 34:44it. That you'd like.
- 34:45I'm not getting agitated with the fact that you're agitated
- 34:47with me or just stop tank. That's so sad that like, you
- 34:51have to create this whole scenario, not you.
- 34:53But I mean like everyone in that position.
- 34:55Yeah. What have to like we create
- 34:57these mental scenarios so they don't lose it.
- 34:59Like, my last two days, I was training a girl who just
- 35:03started. So she was telling me how she
- 35:06worked a hard. He's like, down the street.
- 35:10And like there's just no one there because they didn't want
- 35:12to work, which is understandable but like she would work full
- 35:14days sometimes going like five in the morning to close at like
- 35:1811:00 at night and just like, even though the pay was good but
- 35:23like no one just wanted to work and then like, customers, you're
- 35:25just getting mad because there's no one working.
- 35:27So like they're yelling at them because like their foods, not
- 35:30there on time since it's fast food and things like that.
- 35:33And like before she started working the job, I just left
- 35:37like everyone just basically walk Doubt that day so it's
- 35:41crazy. And it's liked interesting, like
- 35:43two years ago, like governments like oh you guys are essential
- 35:48workers and then when they start putting us back to work, we're
- 35:50back to being like Burger flippers.
- 35:54Don't know what we're doing with our Lives.
- 35:55Why are we asking for 15 dollars an hour?
- 35:57Which we still can't live on because the job.
- 36:00So we do. Apparently, aren't that
- 36:03important. Even though, as you can see,
- 36:06when people aren't working these jobs, everyone that's rich and
- 36:08don't know how to Pick up just a simple Fork.
- 36:11Don't know what to do with their lives, just saying.
- 36:15All right. So all my all my service and
- 36:20customer service job. People understand what I'm
- 36:23saying? We appreciate you guys, here.
- 36:26We salute, you liking what? I got a retail like I just
- 36:29started making sure I lease if I ask for help thanking people
- 36:33because like, besides just the job itself, he just don't know
- 36:36what people are going through. Why, why do we try Why do some
- 36:40people try so hard is to make other people's lives like hard?
- 36:47Yeah, I the only thing I'm confused about is like, where
- 36:50did everybody go? Because I know that like, you
- 36:54know, people have been living off of like unemployment and
- 36:57everything and I don't blame them for Nessa and not wanting
- 36:59to go back to it because it sucks, but like I had to go back
- 37:03because I needed to make money again.
- 37:05So I'm like, where are all the people that were doing these
- 37:07jobs before. Like, are they just Just like
- 37:11where did they go? I mean like why I've gotten
- 37:17covid? Or yeah.
- 37:18But there also are like new people that are becoming
- 37:22teenagers. That are like the typical people
- 37:24that would work there. Like people are still having
- 37:26kids and they're still getting older.
- 37:27So like why is there such a shortage of people to work?
- 37:31Because it's like I couldn't just do that.
- 37:34I had to go back and earn money so I could also be getting
- 37:38different types of jobs. I mean, I feel like So many
- 37:40jobs. Now that's starting to turn to
- 37:42promote. Yeah, I really don't know that's
- 37:46great but there's just there's a lot of people in the world and
- 37:48like there's a lot of people that need those kind of jobs.
- 37:52So like where the heck did they all go?
- 37:54I mean is what I'm confused about, I don't know.
- 37:57Like maybe they also could be like sad to say like getting
- 37:59homeless but like even with the I don't know the statistics.
- 38:03I need to like figure out six either because I know just from
- 38:07watching like my job, like We kept complaining how there's a
- 38:11shortage of like housekeepers or front desk people but then
- 38:13there's sometimes there were people that would come in and do
- 38:17an application and they wouldn't get the job because like they
- 38:21just didn't want to hire them. I'm like you guys are screaming.
- 38:24You need help when help comes you don't give them a chance.
- 38:29I'm confused. I feel like that could be the
- 38:31biggest reason because I've noticed that too a lot as in
- 38:34like education like people will come but they won't give them
- 38:38like that main job. We'll give them like an
- 38:40assistant job or something, you can still be out of shortage.
- 38:43That makes sense. Like I was looking for a job
- 38:46since even though I currently have a job, I was looking for a
- 38:49new job since what? I think July, yeah.
- 38:52Looking for a while and it's January now.
- 38:55Okay. It's just surprising to me like
- 38:56there is a shortage is literally everywhere.
- 38:59Like every every sign and on a business in my town says hiring
- 39:04and each week or each month, like the price of how much
- 39:08they'll give you goes up. Up.
- 39:09So I'm like, where the heck are all the people that lost their
- 39:13jobs at the beginning of this? Like are they just staying on
- 39:16unemployment or they doing something else or like what
- 39:19happened? Like, why is there so much
- 39:21shortage like everywhere I guess is my question?
- 39:24It is a good question because unemployment is not what?
- 39:28It's not the same. I thought it ran out in Florida.
- 39:30I thought they stopped giving it.
- 39:32Yeah, they stopped giving the pandemic one and it's not enough
- 39:34to live on. So we got that wouldn't be an
- 39:37option for me to like, just not. Do anything?
- 39:40I don't know because I know when they stop to giving the pandemic
- 39:44like the six hundred a week, that's when I was like, okay, I
- 39:47was like, yeah, okay, I really need to look for something
- 39:50that's more sustainable. Now, that's a really good point.
- 39:53You bring up her, I just, I mean, I get it like, I don't, I
- 39:56wouldn't want to go back. Either working at the really
- 39:58hard retail jobs, especially with, like, how people act, but
- 40:02at the end of the day, you, if you didn't, you know, go down
- 40:05another Avenue while pandemic was happening.
- 40:07Like, when you need to get your job back.
- 40:09I have heard, a lot of people are opening up their own
- 40:14companies. Businesses businesses got to
- 40:17could be it to ensure. People are moving to social
- 40:20media as well. Yeah, yeah.
- 40:22I guess I guess that the follow-up question.
- 40:24It has, where are they getting their money to start their own
- 40:26business if they were living off on employment and like candied
- 40:29it from like the stimulus check or unemployment knows our this
- 40:34new stupid cryptocurrency that I am still confused to this day on
- 40:38how to use. And I don't think I'm Jumping on
- 40:40that train so Bitcoin and all that I guess I'm not ended like
- 40:45Innovative enough. But cryptocurrency I kind of
- 40:48understand but n of T is what human.
- 40:51I'm still confused since day one.
- 40:53And of T is like I don't want to be sitting here like that isn't
- 40:56complaining. It's bad but like I just want to
- 40:58know. Like so if it really is that
- 41:00bad, I can't find anything from my understanding and I have T is
- 41:05like a digital version of a physical thing.
- 41:09So you know How we have like digital money now which is
- 41:12basically cryptocurrency. Yes.
- 41:14So this digital like item called an N of T is backed by that
- 41:18digital money so it's all like virtual stuff.
- 41:21Simply put. All I see when people are
- 41:24talking about why it's bad is because the environment.
- 41:26So that's why I'm really concerned like, yeah.
- 41:29How is it bad for the environment for stuff we already
- 41:32like? Hmm.
- 41:34I do week now. Yeah, I haven't researched it
- 41:38that far, but Yeah, I hadn't heard the environment thing.
- 41:42I don't know, I don't really know anything about it but I saw
- 41:45one girl on Tick-Tock. She was like I think her
- 41:48girlfriend pointed the camera is like explain it to me.
- 41:51And she's like well basically like if you're a man first of
- 41:56all, you have to be a man and you have to be at the like top
- 41:59of the hierarchy already. We're going to give you this
- 42:02imaginary man that you own but you don't really own it, but
- 42:06we're going to say that you own it but like Abused.
- 42:11But he said he was like, do we ever actually really own things
- 42:16to begin with? What is going to deal with
- 42:19questions asked? It's all stuff that we've made
- 42:24up to mean things so you know, like the apps I have now like
- 42:31say yes, they're technically by but like, I don't actually
- 42:34really own them. Yeah there it's just something
- 42:38intangible that Paid money for you pay for the I could be
- 42:42deleted at any point. Yeah.
- 42:44It's like we're streaming services now.
- 42:46Like, yes, I can access it anytime.
- 42:47But like, what if there's a movie, I saw two months ago, and
- 42:49I want to re-watch it, I can't do that because they deleted it
- 42:52to make space for new stuff. Cassie.
- 42:56You, you've used something that you've paid for, but
- 42:58technically, you can't use it again because they've already
- 43:00gotten rid of it. So like but how much like what
- 43:04you paid for it, I guess wasn't enough to own it forever.
- 43:08Like what does that even I'm so weird.
- 43:12I just think of it as a payment for use, like, doesn't involve a
- 43:16ballooning or anything, but like e but if me and you paid the
- 43:20same amount for something that we use, but I use it 20 hours a
- 43:24month and you only use it five hours a month, should we be
- 43:27paying the same amount? She cracked the code guys,
- 43:44that is a good question, though. But you know, they actually
- 43:50started making Indian versions of a lot of like the popular
- 43:56Disney shows too. So that was those interesting to
- 44:00know to learn. Yeah, I've noticed in we're kind
- 44:02of Crossing into, you know, we're kind of in this new are
- 44:07like even here there's a bunch of remakes of like movies and TV
- 44:12shows, like a very popular like back in early 2000 90s or even
- 44:16further and they're remaking them.
- 44:18And now we're getting the A point to where there is remix on
- 44:21an international board. Like I keep hearing that one
- 44:25famous Korean show sky castle door apparently supposed to be
- 44:29making an American version of that.
- 44:31We'll see how that goes. There's been another.
- 44:34Yeah well there's been other like stuff like that where
- 44:36they've read make like I was remember texting Rihanna, I
- 44:40don't know how we got on this topic, but we mentioned that and
- 44:43I mentioned the movie Old Boy, where Spike Lee made old boy
- 44:48back in. Thousand thirteen, which is a
- 44:502005 Korean movie of the same name.
- 44:55I think it's called old boy. Yeah, it's called old boy, just
- 44:58stuff like that. So that's not surprising me
- 45:00anymore. Either there was an American
- 45:02remake, the good doctor and they keep saying they want to remake
- 45:06train to Busan, they better not so, all right, if I see an
- 45:10American remake of train Busan. Oh my gosh.
- 45:12I think we should just let the Koreans do the zombie
- 45:15apocalyptic stuff, because they really have mastered it.
- 45:19A pretty good job of it. I'm not gonna lie.
- 45:22Yeah. Speaks you don't watch that but
- 45:25you're missing out add to that, okay?
- 45:32Apparently, the new show that they released on Netflix.
- 45:35What is it called? All all of us are dead, right?
- 45:38That's the title. Yes.
- 45:39Which I heard is it real? It's like the they don't
- 45:42understand where they got that title from, because the Korean
- 45:45title, like, when it's translated, it doesn't mean the
- 45:47same thing, and I remember that, A big criticism of Netflix when
- 45:51squid game is really popular. How like, Netflix isn't really
- 45:56there being really lazy with the subtitle title as far as the
- 46:00translation and stuff like that, which I understand there's some
- 46:02stuff that's hard to translate all the way through.
- 46:05But even I noticed that like, when I'm watching certain things
- 46:07on Netflix when they translate like words that I've picked up
- 46:11because I'm studying it, I'm like that's not what they said
- 46:13or like. That's not what that word means
- 46:15so I'm watching this movie. I don't know if that was the
- 46:18same because I don't No Hindi, and this is my first time really
- 46:21hearing it. So I'm like, I hope these
- 46:23translations of the subtitles are like close to Accurate which
- 46:28kind of is. And I'm going to ask you now
- 46:30before I forget, is it calming to switch back and forth like
- 46:34they're doing it that movie because at first, it was throw
- 46:36me off really badly from Hindi to English, it's super common.
- 46:41Okay, I was so confused because you have to remember, India was
- 46:45colonized by the British. So there's a lot of like English
- 46:49word replacements for Hindi words so it's very common to go
- 46:54back and forth between Indian English.
- 46:56Like I do it all the time. Yeah, I wanted to bring that up
- 46:59because I don't know about you guys but since I know you both
- 47:02have studied Korean a little bit more than I have.
- 47:04But when I watch or when I watch anime or I watch kdramas, I am
- 47:10listening to what they're saying, like, I'm hearing
- 47:12everything, but at the same time, I'm kind of focused on the
- 47:16subtitle. So my inner monologue, like I
- 47:21can hear myself reading the subtitles.
- 47:23So when they were switching back and forth and there weren't any
- 47:26subtitles, I'm like, was I listening?
- 47:27I don't know if I heard what they said in English, because I
- 47:30was so focused on reading the subtitles and my, the voice in
- 47:34my head is a little bit louder than what I'm hearing on the
- 47:36screen. So like, I don't know if you
- 47:39Simone it, or if you had trouble with like switching back and
- 47:43forth because I kind of quiet what the show is saying and
- 47:46listen to myself reading those. Mm who's Or I think because
- 47:51since I started watching like I'm not gonna lie, I don't watch
- 47:55a lot of English or American shows anymore.
- 48:00Like I have in the past, maybe two years watching a lot of
- 48:05international shows, whether it is like more anime or like
- 48:09Korean drama. So I think I've gotten to the
- 48:11point where like I have been able to do both at the same time
- 48:17like read and then watch and then also While I'm listening
- 48:19specially from watching, Korean dramas, surprisingly like, try
- 48:26to listen to the Korean War to see if I can understand what
- 48:29they're saying, without really having to watch the subtitles to
- 48:32see if the subtitles are like accurate to what they're
- 48:35actually saying or not. If that makes sense, right, I
- 48:39definitely watch way more International shows now, like I
- 48:42don't watch TV in general and I've gotten much better at
- 48:45reading subtitles where I can like they're in the like the
- 48:48bottom of the screen. I don't need to be looking
- 48:50directly at them like I can be watching and picking up what
- 48:53they're saying. But like I don't always like
- 48:57with this movie, this was a new language for me.
- 48:59So I went back to like yeah I went back to like the way that I
- 49:02used to read it to where like I'm kind of more focused on the
- 49:05subtitles and like less listening to act what they're
- 49:08actually like I'm listening but I'm not picking up the like
- 49:13individual words as much as I want to be like a crucial
- 49:16language but you're more focused on Probably so watch it because
- 49:21you're just focus on reading. I get that right right wearing
- 49:25crew with Korean it's like I know a lot of like the common
- 49:27phrases like are you hungry? How are you feeling?
- 49:30Are you know like stuff like that or like pronouns.
- 49:33Like I've mom dad sister brother like I pick up on all that stuff
- 49:37that I don't need to like read it where this when it was
- 49:40switching back and forth. I was so focused on the
- 49:42translation that wouldn't Woods which day was.
- 49:44I'm like, I don't think I heard what they just said, I get that.
- 49:49Yeah, I will admit they do it. They do it kind of quickly
- 49:51though, it was so fast. It was like most English.
- 49:55I was like, wait to text you but I was like I'm, you know, maybe
- 50:03I'll say this for the podcast because I'm like, is this an
- 50:05actual common thing? Like in the actual like an
- 50:08actual India? Or is this like a movie thing
- 50:11but it would make more sense if this is common like it's still
- 50:14saying no. Like I personally do it and they
- 50:17did. They didn't like subtitle the
- 50:20English either so like which is just here in English.
- 50:23You should just they spoke in English.
- 50:24Sometimes they did though because there's some points
- 50:26where they send us the exact subtitle in English, there is a
- 50:29word in the middle of the sentence that was English.
- 50:31They would put it. But if it was a whole sentence
- 50:33in English, it just wasn't subtitle.
- 50:35So, like I would be like, oh, where'd it go?
- 50:36And then I would, my brain would realize that it all that was
- 50:39English. So, you know, actually as a
- 50:42person who watches him the movies, that's not something
- 50:46that I noticed. Myself doing, like, you know,
- 50:49how you mentioned. Like, you always have to train
- 50:51yourself to go back to English. Like, for me, it was just such
- 50:54an easy transition because like, I hear it all the time, but I
- 50:57didn't realize it would be like more of a problem for someone
- 51:00who's like, easy to the language, you grew up with the
- 51:03language, right? Yeah, so I grew up with the
- 51:06language but I don't know how to write it and I don't know how to
- 51:09read it. I can just speak it, right?
- 51:11Well, that's kind of like my grandma.
- 51:12She is from Germany. She grew up there.
- 51:14She spent most of her, like young.
- 51:17Adult life there and then she moved to a to America.
- 51:21And so when she speaks a lot of the time, it's in broken German
- 51:24and English and even though I don't I would not consider
- 51:27myself fluent in German, but I've heard her speak it so much
- 51:30that I pretty much know what she's saying, but she switches
- 51:33back and forth between German and English like nothing.
- 51:36So like I'm used to that but it's a language that I was
- 51:39around and that I heard so that makes sense.
- 51:41That you wouldn't have a problem with that because you know, like
- 51:44you were so used to this switch and by the end of the movie,
- 51:47See, I was getting the hang of it, but it at first I was like,
- 51:50I need to go back. I didn't hear what they say
- 51:53about 15 minutes. I was kind of like, what?
- 51:56We just like a bilingual thing, maybe, and that's why I like
- 52:00especially with studying another language I have to I don't know
- 52:03if they tell you that or not because that's the point where I
- 52:06have to get like when I'm learning the language, I want to
- 52:08try to get to the point where I don't have to rely of going back
- 52:11to English to see if I understand it, I can just hear
- 52:15the original language and be able to And it.
- 52:18So that also is taking a while, not to mention, I always stop
- 52:22back and forth and I'm trying to do like three at once on my own
- 52:25time. But you know what three are you
- 52:28doing? Well, my main focus right now
- 52:30because I've been setting it for so long is Korean but like I
- 52:34would like to know Japanese a little bit and always wanted to
- 52:38that one's a little bit harder because when they start getting
- 52:40to the kanji characters, I'm kind of because it's Chinese
- 52:44characters. But like, pronounced like in.
- 52:46Yeah. Yeah.
- 52:47Yeah, that that's still confuses me and kind of want to go back
- 52:51to try to learn Spanish again. Even though I feel like high
- 52:54school kind of like not turn me off the Spanish but like,
- 52:57especially where I live like in being in Florida, Florida.
- 53:00You know, you we have a lot of Hispanics here and I know in my
- 53:03old job like when we have Spanish like guests come in,
- 53:07like I always wanted to try to like speak to them in Spanish so
- 53:11they understood but like I barely know anything.
- 53:13So it's just stuff. My job really would be the most
- 53:16useful here I think. Just because it's so common.
- 53:19You know, it's on my list to. Sorry, go ahead, you're good.
- 53:22I was just gonna say, a lot of places will even pay you more at
- 53:25your job. If you can speak Spanish because
- 53:27you can accommodate more people so because it's so common here.
- 53:32Yeah. Like you would think Spanish
- 53:33should be my second that I want to learn.
- 53:35But just because like I said, I've been studying Korean for so
- 53:39long and I feel like I've learned so much, I don't want to
- 53:42lose what I've learned. So I'm know we're comfortable
- 53:45with speaking it but like I can Read it pretty well.
- 53:49And I here I can understand like the individual words a little
- 53:53bit better, but I can't translate it that quickly.
- 53:56So that's so I just don't want to lose my progress.
- 53:59Pretty good position to be in. Yeah, I still have a long way to
- 54:03go like if I'm probably at like, first grade level so I'm being
- 54:08honest. But it's better than nothing for
- 54:10us. That would be considered
- 54:12intermediate, though, because you're not beginner.
- 54:14No, I'd say I'm probably between like advanced. and like
- 54:18intermediate, like I still have trouble trying to form sentences
- 54:22on my own, but I know, I pretty much know the basic sentences
- 54:27now and I've no a couple complex sentences but like you try to
- 54:31talk to me in a paragraph and you lose me so anything more
- 54:35than like three consecutive sentences so kind of like okay,
- 54:39wait, keep it short and sweet and one slow now because like I
- 54:44feel like every other language besides English speaks so fast,
- 54:47Fast. So that's another thing, too.
- 54:49I'm not used to the fast pace but I guess that's because I'm
- 54:53the native English speaker. I think we speak slow and we
- 54:57might actually speak fast like if there's anyone that's
- 55:00listening to us, who's not that strong in English?
- 55:02My think now that I'm speaking pretty fast, but I don't think I
- 55:06am. It's just one of those space.
- 55:08English is the hardest language to learn but I think that's
- 55:10because of all of the like the double meaning words, you know,
- 55:13the structure. There's like three words.
- 55:15That's are exactly the same that all me different things.
- 55:17There's anything there. Yeah, I think one like the range
- 55:21of words is like really big but English itself.
- 55:24I don't know. Yeah.
- 55:25English itself is pretty tough and then when you kick in like
- 55:27the slang words, that's like what.
- 55:30Yeah, yeah that's another thing too.
- 55:32Like when I speak to people that don't understand English that
- 55:34well I have to remember like I don't realize I speak in so much
- 55:37slang than I actually do. So I have to catch myself there
- 55:41and especially just like I don't know if I ever told you this is
- 55:44the feast but I remember one time working at the library Oh,
- 55:47and these two girls made, like, you know, reservation for one of
- 55:51the study rooms study things that we had.
- 55:54So I was like, okay. Did you like book a session and
- 55:59the study rooms and they don't understand what I meant when I
- 56:01said booked the room. So that also is kind of slang
- 56:05itself. But how else would you make that
- 56:070? You would probably just say did
- 56:09you make a reservation? Yeah, yeah Reserve.
- 56:12Yeah, that's true. That's that's something that you
- 56:14have to, like, think about to catch yourself, is there?
- 56:17I'm confused. I thought I meant like the
- 56:18actual books like behind me so they know what I meant by like
- 56:22oh you both like a you book. Time for the study room.
- 56:27I forgot what they called it. I can see why that would be
- 56:29confusing. It's like I'm here for studying
- 56:31room. Why she asking me about books?
- 56:34Yeah, that makes sense to me a while.
- 56:38Alright, so going back to know me.
- 56:47He's like off with our language discourse.
- 56:49I like, but it still goes because we're talking about an
- 56:52international movie. Yeah, so that's true.
- 56:53That's true. So yeah, we have a point there.
- 56:55We're just bad at tangents. We are we go on like 10 to the
- 56:59tangent 50 Min tangents me conversations fun, guys.
- 57:03Okay great, so the more the merrier keeps them.
- 57:05Interesting. Yes.
- 57:10Before we do any more new groups, I felt like it'd be
- 57:13appropriate to kind of do like, a ketchup on the group's.
- 57:16We already did to see like where they are now where we left off.
- 57:20Like after we played the game, things like that.
- 57:24So yeah, because we always start each one of those episodes with
- 57:27a little bit of research on the groups and except for BTS, which
- 57:31I kind of feel bad for it up. Like I beat I feel like my
- 57:36heart's of heart, everyone knows though.
- 57:37But like some types, not everyone.
- 57:40Does and I also feel like the reason I did that was our first
- 57:44episode. So we really hadn't gotten in
- 57:46our groove of what we wanted to do with it.
- 57:48That's true. So they just have so much music
- 57:50that was like four episodes long.
- 57:52Just getting through the songs like not messing around with
- 57:55anything. Yeah technically 5 so the lake
- 57:58that's a lot of content to get through and I don't know if
- 58:03spending 30 minutes talking about just them in general and
- 58:06most people know who they are, especially if they're listening
- 58:08to an episode about them. I don't know, and we talked
- 58:11about them all the time. So like he get things, you know,
- 58:14I don't think it was as necessary with them, but I think
- 58:17so either, I just wasn't sure because I felt bad because we
- 58:19did do a little introduction of like, oh here's the members,
- 58:22here's their names, the company. They're from how they built
- 58:26their company because we all know they built high.
- 58:28But don't argue with me on that because we all know it's true,
- 58:33things like that. So it's fine because technically
- 58:36we talked about all the members when we talked about our Concert
- 58:40Experience. And then we talked about, you
- 58:43know, I haven't listened to like early early episodes in a while
- 58:48like cuz when I did the 2021 recap, it was only episodes we
- 58:51put out in 2021 and a pretty much started with the BTS game.
- 58:56So like the ones before that I kind of haven't listened to.
- 58:59I'm kind of afraid to listen to because I mean we didn't talk
- 59:02about like letting go in depth of each person but I know for a
- 59:05fact we said each person's name and then we filmed like a like
- 59:10Like a extra thing to put in because we didn't talk about, I
- 59:13don't remember which person it was now, but we didn't talk
- 59:16about one person. I think it may have been gin.
- 59:19We didn't talk about it, my whole lot.
- 59:20So we recorded like a snippet and put it in there.
- 59:24But yeah, I think we tried to talk about each member and that
- 59:26further stages though we didn't talk about like, like the other
- 59:30groups like they're starting. Stuff heard each person's name.
- 59:33That's true. I'm like, what?
- 59:34That's what I said, like we didn't wouldn't go in depth with
- 59:37each person but we talked about each person Their name and
- 59:40stuff. And like may see also says we
- 59:43also talked about them a lot. I'll tie the game is pretty
- 59:45sure. There's like every episode we do
- 59:48there's bts's mentioned it before it breaks it up.
- 59:56So we have flake. What we have two episodes just
- 1:00:00dedicated on the R&B album and me and Briana has like an almost
- 1:00:04three hours episode on the concerts content on.
- 1:00:09This channel. So like I said that like,
- 1:00:12literally, I think in the trailer before we even started
- 1:00:15making episode, I was like if I bring up the three letters BTS,
- 1:00:19um, you know, just going to be used to it, accept it.
- 1:00:23That's just accepted at this point.
- 1:00:26I Can't Help It. Anyway, needless to say, I think
- 1:00:28we've talked about them plenty and he talked about Morris just
- 1:00:31going to be extra, so I just wanted to make sure.
- 1:00:34Yeah, but yes. On September 24th BTS released,
- 1:00:42a collaboration song with the famous British band Coldplay.
- 1:00:47The song was also reached number one on Billboard Hot 100 and it
- 1:00:51was cold place. First song to hit the Hot 100,
- 1:00:55since 2008. So since 2008, they haven't had
- 1:00:57a song reached America did 100 number one.
- 1:01:02So we play this song in my work all the time.
- 1:01:04I'll do, they were so excited. Yeah, it's so excited.
- 1:01:07Don't hear you. First that much out in public,
- 1:01:11surprisingly. One time I went out, this is an
- 1:01:14older song. I was, I think the Macy's store
- 1:01:18in my area was closing down and we were shopping, you know, like
- 1:01:22the last minute giveaway, like, get it now before we're gone,
- 1:01:26and I heard wasted on me playing played in the store.
- 1:01:29Oh, yeah. So yesterday there's there's
- 1:01:32three songs that I've heard that our Kpop related.
- 1:01:35It was Universe, they play teeth.
- 1:01:38He's Look a lot at my really? Yeah, it is on English soil,
- 1:01:42that surprise. I understand that.
- 1:01:43Yeah, I heard a Jackson Wang song Yesterday, really did.
- 1:01:47He decided to let me love you or whatever.
- 1:01:49It's I'm forgetting. You know, that is a good retail
- 1:01:51song to be honest. Yeah.
- 1:01:54So I was so excited. I'm like why is this person
- 1:01:56sound familiar? And then I like stopped when I
- 1:01:58was doing I like this is Jack's away playing.
- 1:02:02Like sometimes we gotta stop and like look around, you know, that
- 1:02:06happened to me one time to in college.
- 1:02:08I was at a YMCA that we were able to use for free because it
- 1:02:13was associated with the college and I was working out and I
- 1:02:16think I stopped my music and all of a sudden I could have sworn,
- 1:02:20I heard fake love being played and I was like, wait a minute,
- 1:02:23my phone's not playing and I took out my headphones and they
- 1:02:25were playing fake. Love at the YMCA, I know Civ, I
- 1:02:30was also in Orlando. So like it must be an army
- 1:02:33because like you know, there's no English version of Fake love.
- 1:02:39So it's like hello. Who is the secret army here?
- 1:02:42I see the dirt, you know, they're easy to point out.
- 1:02:45If you know what you're looking for, right?
- 1:02:47As far as everywhere artworks goes like I'm pretty sure our
- 1:02:52music. He's down by corporate though so
- 1:02:53there's nobody because there is you know, people who know BPS
- 1:02:57that I work with but they don't have anything to do with what
- 1:02:59music is playing. Right?
- 1:03:01So I thought that was pretty cool and I was very surprised by
- 1:03:03The Jacksons long because I heard his voice and I'm like
- 1:03:06that sounds like Jackson way but there's no way it is, right?
- 1:03:08So I stopped, I'm stupid, but they're also playing like other
- 1:03:12K-pop groups or List. Like, I mean, Jackie, I don't
- 1:03:15think Jackson would be considered Kpop anymore but
- 1:03:17still yeah. I mean, he's definitely turning
- 1:03:21into more mainstream but he that's where he started from.
- 1:03:24So I just like hearing him doing the crossover stuff, that's
- 1:03:27really cool. Like the laws.
- 1:03:33I don't know how cold it's going over a year up, so I'm not sure
- 1:03:35if this is going to get postponed or not, but we have
- 1:03:38until May. What is what, three months away?
- 1:03:41Yeah, I should know. This may that's when I'll be
- 1:03:46turning the big, the big 25 couple months for me and I don't
- 1:03:52feel any different. So I probably won't either.
- 1:03:55But, like, it's just, it's just a mental thing.
- 1:03:57Like, I still don't know you like I do.
- 1:03:59If I feel like I'm 24, I I feel like I'm like 60?
- 1:04:03Yeah, pretty much. So, yeah, 25 guys, but that's it
- 1:04:08for yugyeom. So, hopefully it goes, well, I'm
- 1:04:11not sure if it's like a Content concert or dislike a fan Meetup
- 1:04:15or like, if it's going to be with other people, but look out
- 1:04:18for you via meets Germany. Lucky Germany, right?
- 1:04:23Can you do it Yugi? I'm meets Florida, right?
- 1:04:26Just don't get anything good. Come on.
- 1:04:30I'm so upset. I have to miss one us in a
- 1:04:34couple weeks. If I didn't start my new job,
- 1:04:37I'd be there in a heartbeat, but I can't go see them because
- 1:04:40they'll be in our Land O on the 22nd.
- 1:04:42Probably, either around the time this episode comes out or after.
- 1:04:46But I'm missing one us and I already missed 80s here numb.
- 1:04:51That'll be fun. Yeah, that will be fun.
- 1:04:54I'm looking forward to it. I am too.
- 1:04:56Hopefully we'll do an episode on that.
- 1:04:59I'm not sure if it'll be like concert.
- 1:05:01And the game because I know we wanted to play the game with him
- 1:05:04also or if it'll just be talking about the concert and we'll get
- 1:05:07brand on that as well because she's also going to be there.
- 1:05:10So see he seems to be having a fun time for what I can see from
- 1:05:14the pictures. Oh my gosh because I see clips
- 1:05:20of him at his concerts all the time on Tick-Tock.
- 1:05:22He's he's basically it's basically a stand-up comedian
- 1:05:26that also sings pretty much. That's pretty much what it is.
- 1:05:31It's basically You're just going there for a stand-up comedian
- 1:05:35who occasionally dances and sings like every like 10 or 15
- 1:05:40minutes. Yeah, no, I'm really looking
- 1:05:42forward to it. Okay.
- 1:05:43But that is all the members of Got7.
- 1:05:46Hmm. I'm just going to say this now,
- 1:05:52I'm sorry in advance if I butcher the Korean language,
- 1:05:57like I've been doing I'm trying and also just because this is it
- 1:06:01a language that I mean the three of us watched Korean, you know,
- 1:06:06shows but like we discussed when we did the Bollywood one, some
- 1:06:10things could be Lost in Translation.
- 1:06:12So we are like as far as our understanding going off of like
- 1:06:15the English translations, and maybe some understanding of some
- 1:06:19Korean words, we know No. Just in case we talk about
- 1:06:23something and it was like mistranslated or wasn't
- 1:06:25translated correctly. I just felt like I should say
- 1:06:27that. So yeah, be warned.
- 1:06:31Yeah, Peter Ward doing a lot of talking again y'all know how
- 1:06:35that goes. It's okay makes for great
- 1:06:38content. My stumbling makes for great
- 1:06:40content. Thanks to Feast.
- 1:06:42That's not what I said lead to other conversations which here's
- 1:06:47to Great content. Yeah, it's all.
- 1:06:50Oaks. It's all jokes all of here.
- 1:06:53Mmm. Okay.
- 1:06:59Okay. So the film adaptation was
- 1:07:03directed and written by a park yeongjin and I'm going to go
- 1:07:07ahead and talk about the cast. So jung-gu is played by so he
- 1:07:12owned or Soju here on who I didn't know this K-pop fans
- 1:07:19don't come for me is a member of Girls Generation so she did look
- 1:07:25super familiar but I did not know that.
- 1:07:29Time I seen her before you might have seen her in an old girls
- 1:07:33generation music video. I don't know.
- 1:07:35I definitely did not recognize her but I also haven't watched a
- 1:07:39lot of Girls Generation like music videos video or song.
- 1:07:44So that's why I say K-pop fans especially second gen.
- 1:07:46Don't come for me. I actually didn't recognize her
- 1:07:51until I read the description. I'm like, okay, how many ya r +
- 1:07:57Girls Generation? Isn't that like nine of them?
- 1:08:02There's quite a few me. I don't, I didn't, I don't know
- 1:08:05much about them. I just knew that I had seen her
- 1:08:07before, but I didn't put the pieces together because I don't
- 1:08:11really follow Girls Generation or know their names or anything.
- 1:08:14So, I only know today on that's disgust she still makes music so
- 1:08:18mmm. But yes.
- 1:08:21So that's our lead actress. Jungjie who is played by June or
- 1:08:28e jinyoung? Who I guess is also another
- 1:08:31Idol. He was a member of the boy band,
- 1:08:34you kiss and I know you kiss is a little bit older.
- 1:08:37So we had two former Idol leads in this movie guys.
- 1:08:42Again, did not know he was an idol either.
- 1:08:44I didn't know that there and I haven't heard of that group.
- 1:08:47Yeah, I've heard of that group, I don't know.
- 1:08:50I couldn't tell you a song. I just know when I used to
- 1:08:53listen to Eric nam's podcast, he had a friend named Kevin who, I
- 1:08:57guess, was also a member and you kissed.
- 1:08:59Came on. What's the only reason I know
- 1:09:01about that group? Okay, great.
- 1:09:04I was going to bring up. Do you think I know they're both
- 1:09:07like, kind of not performing anymore?
- 1:09:09But do you think this would be? I feel like this would be kind
- 1:09:12of a risky role for an idol. To take a look at current title.
- 1:09:16Yeah, that's true. Actually, I didn't think about
- 1:09:18that, um, like because it's a more taboo subject.
- 1:09:22You think it's riskier for their careers and they're like images
- 1:09:25as an idol. Yeah.
- 1:09:27Especially the ways Idols are like, Marketed as well.
- 1:09:31It definitely centralized, but not in that manner, like, it's
- 1:09:35and isn't that weird, like, they're sexualized.
- 1:09:37But then, like they're not sexualized, like if you Embrace
- 1:09:40their Sex Lies a shit about it. Like, they're, they're innocent.
- 1:09:43They can't date. They're Innocent but we're going
- 1:09:46to sexualize them anyway, and show their bodies off and
- 1:09:48whatnot, but they can't have relationships or actual sex.
- 1:09:52We don't talk about that. Valid.
- 1:10:01So I don't know. And I'm, you would have to think
- 1:10:04like what type of items obviously has to be the older
- 1:10:06Idols because, you know, Idols being debut now or a lot
- 1:10:10younger. So you have to think the ones
- 1:10:12that are around our age and like the third and second generation
- 1:10:15groups. But like, also, I feel like a
- 1:10:19lot of those groups have older fans like us.
- 1:10:22So maybe it wouldn't have been that bad.
- 1:10:25I really don't know. I couldn't tell you, he's
- 1:10:27example like Jinyoung. He's an idol.
- 1:10:31That is still kind of active, even though their group
- 1:10:34disbanded and he's acting, if he had taken a role like this, do
- 1:10:37you think it would have affected his like, Got7 fan base at all?
- 1:10:43Well, do you think it would? Because you're more of like an
- 1:10:46Agave than I am. So I wouldn't, I think my
- 1:10:49perception of him but I don't know about the rest of the
- 1:10:52fandom. True.
- 1:10:55And that also be like what the difference between International
- 1:10:58fans and Korean fans to. You have to think but I also
- 1:11:01don't like I don't like The Stereotype that they can't have
- 1:11:05relationships, either, you know what I mean?
- 1:11:07So I personally know it would not affect my thought, but I
- 1:11:12know that I feel like K-pop Idols can get in controversy at
- 1:11:17the drop of a hat. So, like, I think, I think, if I
- 1:11:21were him, I wouldn't take that risk.
- 1:11:23I get that it Probably is better since they're both.
- 1:11:25Kind of like they've been acting more their little bit older that
- 1:11:30they don't really have to think. I mean I feel like it was still
- 1:11:34a risk either way, but there are still active in their groups.
- 1:11:37I see where you're talking about Because Idols, I know for a fact
- 1:11:44idols and like actors or treated completely differently over
- 1:11:47there. So like actors people don't
- 1:11:50really care about all the stuff you just said, but Idols, they
- 1:11:54do why? I don't know, they just do the
- 1:11:58way. I mean, it's a risk.
- 1:12:00It's a risk for any actor too, though.
- 1:12:01Because once you play a certain role, I feel like a lot of times
- 1:12:05like they're really popular actresses and actors.
- 1:12:07You see, they get roped into a certain type of Actor.
- 1:12:12And you don't necessarily want to like, limit yourself to like,
- 1:12:15oh, this is the character I play.
- 1:12:16I can only play that type of character, so I feel like taking
- 1:12:20on such a taboo subject in society can limit you, it can be
- 1:12:25a risk, no matter who you are. But I mean, just look at.
- 1:12:28I feel like you could say that like actors here like look at
- 1:12:31Tobey Maguire feel, like, people still see, I'm Spider-Man.
- 1:12:34It doesn't help me just play Spider-Man recently, but face
- 1:12:39like such a major role. No one is going to see.
- 1:12:42Besides that role, you're always going to be compared to that
- 1:12:45one. So like I feel like it's a risk
- 1:12:47because now they're always going to be compared to this role
- 1:12:50because it's probably the most really don't feel like it.
- 1:12:53Especially I don't feel like this movie is big enough for
- 1:12:56that has gotten traction, but I don't think it's as popular to
- 1:12:59where they have to worry about that.
- 1:13:02And I feel like our minds kind of just like, I don't know, I
- 1:13:06don't feel like I think if this was a show it probably would
- 1:13:11have had a more negative effect on them.
- 1:13:13But since it's just a movie, I I don't think so.
- 1:13:17I hope it doesn't, but I'm just, you know.
- 1:13:19Yeah it is a question that I thought of I'm like, is this
- 1:13:21going to affect future casting for them?
- 1:13:24And honestly, I haven't really seen that many bad reviews on
- 1:13:28this movie. Like, when I was doing my
- 1:13:30research, a lot of people actually really like it.
- 1:13:32And it's actually got a pretty good like reviews.
- 1:13:35As far as ratings and everything.
- 1:13:37So it's well done in my band is so I don't think they really
- 1:13:41have to worry about that. Personally, if it was if it was
- 1:13:46viewed more negatively than yeah, I could see that.
- 1:13:48But as far as just me observing the reviews sinks like I haven't
- 1:13:54read any like too many articles about people's opinions but so
- 1:13:58far I haven't really heard anything too bad about this.
- 1:14:01So if anything it seems like more people are open to these
- 1:14:05type of subjects being talked about and like TV shows and
- 1:14:09movies. So yeah.
- 1:14:17Do you brings up the fact once the like boss said, all that,
- 1:14:22like they maxed out the company's credit card as well as
- 1:14:25an issue that they're having with a YouTuber for the channel
- 1:14:28That I guess they want to try to have come on there as like a
- 1:14:30guest and then her boss immediately becomes like
- 1:14:34defensive goes in the attack of like accusing her of bringing
- 1:14:37the mood down. He the YouTuber that she just
- 1:14:41mentioned, has a lot of subscribers.
- 1:14:43She just doesn't personally like him.
- 1:14:45But I mean, she also Brings up a good point.
- 1:14:47That like, it may not be smart to have someone who's homophobic
- 1:14:50on an educational show and then you steps up and tell them to
- 1:14:55think about the risk factor and the benefits of having the
- 1:14:58YouTuber for the channel and the boss goes back on my career and
- 1:15:01of how gu needs to be more like him.
- 1:15:03If she was more polite and talked with the smile, she
- 1:15:08wouldn't be killing the officer have something to say about
- 1:15:10that. Being nice and cute.
- 1:15:12Can get you a long way and having a tea work and having
- 1:15:16Teamwork is what keeps a nice work environment which is hard
- 1:15:19when there's so many women working at the office, so that's
- 1:15:22guys know. Let's hear yours smile and
- 1:15:25immediately hate you, punched him when I saw him, say, work
- 1:15:31with the smile, and women can understand my pain.
- 1:15:35When it, anybody especially men tell you, that you need to smile
- 1:15:39more because you're more approachable, if he's knows this
- 1:15:43helmet on whole rant. When a man told me, there's at
- 1:15:45my old job. Yeah, I'm not doing anything to
- 1:15:49you. My damn business.
- 1:15:51You're lucky. I'm trying to help you because I
- 1:15:52want to keep this job because I need to make money.
- 1:15:58Yeah, I hate that phrase so much.
- 1:16:01I hate I hate when people tell me I need to smile for them or
- 1:16:05if I smile I'll be more like approachable and people would
- 1:16:09want to talk to me more, but that's the goal though.
- 1:16:11You don't want to be more approachable.
- 1:16:14Exactly. Please don't talk to me but I
- 1:16:16think it wouldn't be as annoying if it was equally distributed
- 1:16:20because I do agree with like if I'm trying to like go up to
- 1:16:24someone to help them in like a retail environment.
- 1:16:27Fireman. I do find that smiling helps and
- 1:16:30like eye contact. There are certain like there are
- 1:16:33certain social cues that you give to people to show that
- 1:16:37you're willing to help them. But don't tell me to do it
- 1:16:39because I immediately don't want to do it.
- 1:16:41And if you're going to tell people to do it, you need to
- 1:16:43tell it equally like the whole place.
- 1:16:46It doesn't like, women should just be quieter and smile and
- 1:16:49look pretty and you'll get more done.
- 1:16:50Is so stupid. This is my, my my that's my main
- 1:16:55annoyance with that whole thing. Just because it's mostly is
- 1:16:58directed to women of like telling them.
- 1:17:02You know. Basically everything makes you
- 1:17:04look a certain way. Yes.
- 1:17:06Get anything where men can just do whatever the heck they want.
- 1:17:10Not they can't, but they is portrayed that way and sometimes
- 1:17:14it's mostly applied for like we have to do this if we want the
- 1:17:18male attention, as if that's just our goal in life.
- 1:17:20It's just the old Lee please. And so, which is not.
- 1:17:26And then his Whole rant also about like complaining, how he
- 1:17:29works with a bunch of women, as if women are incapable of doing
- 1:17:34their job or because there's so many women there, he's basically
- 1:17:36implying like women have so many emotions.
- 1:17:39They're like, he just can't keep up or like it makes it
- 1:17:42impossible to work there. I mean he could move to a
- 1:17:45different job maybe you should not also bring that up so he
- 1:17:54could be making more than everybody and that's why he's
- 1:17:56not leaving. He probably actually women there
- 1:17:59so the manager. Right?
- 1:18:02Yeah. Also mine.
- 1:18:03I said, if he was like the team leaves, but he's basically like
- 1:18:06the manager I'm assuming. He's like the head of mostly
- 1:18:09everyone there and did department.
- 1:18:10So weird automatically makes him think that he's better than
- 1:18:13everyone else because he's got a Billy Idol because like you, you
- 1:18:17see it too. If you watch the movie, his
- 1:18:19reaction when he is talking to Geo.
- 1:18:22And then if G who says something, how his mood also
- 1:18:25automatically changes because it Like, oh, listen to the man,
- 1:18:28like, he knows what he's saying. Yeah, I think he also has a
- 1:18:31particular issue with her because she is a stronger woman
- 1:18:37who refuses to just do what she's told.
- 1:18:40So, like he/she Rivals, what he is telling her to do.
- 1:18:44So it just makes him want to conform her more because and
- 1:18:48like you saw how he changed when Jill was like, oh you better
- 1:18:52watch what you say to them because telling the IQ itself
- 1:18:55that could be considered sexual harassment.
- 1:18:57Moment and he's like you know I was I was testing you.
- 1:18:59You did a good job. Yeah.
- 1:19:02Captain I'm just making sure I was like yeah, sure your buddy
- 1:19:07but anywhere Hi, and welcome back to.
- 1:19:13I was thinking my name is new piece and I'm Simone and welcome
- 1:19:18back. Guys.
- 1:19:19Yeah, as you can tell, from the tone of our voice has.
- 1:19:23It's been a week. Well, it's been a couple weeks
- 1:19:25but it's just bit. Yeah, a couple of weeks I'm so
- 1:19:28tired. How are you Simone?
- 1:19:30I'm I'm not good. I'm not gonna lie, talk to us.
- 1:19:34It's bad out here guys. I'm not even tired, like
- 1:19:38physically tired. I'm just mentally drained. from
- 1:19:43a lot personally and just Yeah, just a lot going on.
- 1:19:49What going on? People are rude.
- 1:19:54People are rude and I try to be like definitely.
- 1:19:57Yeah. And I try to be like the benefit
- 1:19:59of the doubt like, oh, you do not know.
- 1:20:01People are rude. People are mean if there's a
- 1:20:04study out there of like, what type of kicks people get out of
- 1:20:08just being like the worst, please send it to me because I
- 1:20:11really like to study up more on this because I still don't
- 1:20:14understand. Like comment.
- 1:20:16Yeah, decency and Common Sense has been lost on us.
- 1:20:21I agree. I'm noticing that more and more.
- 1:20:24It's really Achilles like eight expecially what?
- 1:20:27I'm not even being rude back. I only be rude back when you're
- 1:20:30like, giving that energy to me, and I don't like being brewed
- 1:20:33back. My, the only person who like,
- 1:20:35feels bad but I'm rude to people.
- 1:20:39Um, I feel bad when I'm rude to people only if I'm the one to
- 1:20:42initiate it, but if someone's being rude and then I'm just
- 1:20:45Just matching it, the no, I don't feel that bad.
- 1:20:48That must be nice. Maybe I need it.
- 1:20:50Get more like that but I just I don't like feeling like that.
- 1:20:53It just makes me feel like sick, I don't know.
- 1:20:56Hmm, no, I understand but typically though, when I get in
- 1:21:01that type of mood, it's like after I've run out of patience
- 1:21:06from dealing with people's because so it's just like what
- 1:21:09do you do at that point? The best you can do is like, say
- 1:21:11a sarcastic comment instead of cursing them out, you know.
- 1:21:15I don't know. I just, I really need to get out
- 1:21:17of like a customer service base type job.
- 1:21:20What would that be? I don't know anymore.
- 1:21:23It doesn't even matter anymore. I feel like the world is
- 1:21:25Burdick. Yeah, climate change is real.
- 1:21:31I'm anywho. So today, we're just going to be
- 1:21:34basically. I'm right on you like this.
- 1:21:36But like, like I said, it's big. Yeah.
- 1:21:40Uh, huh. Yeah.
- 1:21:43So today's podcast is just basically going to be us
- 1:21:46rambling and talking about our woes of really.
- 1:21:51Yeah. I mean, how else can we describe
- 1:21:56it? I just feel like I'm just going
- 1:22:00to do a lot of sighing. Like this episode.
- 1:22:03Not my usual cheerful self, but we get back to our other topics.
- 1:22:07Hopefully, I'll be better. I'm not good at hiding my
- 1:22:12expressions or Felix. So that's a good thing.
- 1:22:16Is it though? But here, overall from all
- 1:22:23avenues, it is a struggle. It's basically a struggle life.
- 1:22:28Yeah, it's a struggle except for like the 1%, they'll be okay.
- 1:22:34They're the ones that are killing us, the most, but we
- 1:22:36won't get into that. That's another topic.
- 1:22:39For another day, the top 40 sometimes like, well, we do the
- 1:22:42pockets of like, how deep do I want to get it to my like, this,
- 1:22:47gushes to wear like a small? Should I say that shit?
- 1:22:51Not say that. Am I making sense?
- 1:22:54If I try to say this and like sometimes I don't want to get
- 1:22:57too deep because I'm not educated on everything so it's
- 1:23:00not like, I'm afraid to sound like an idiot but like I don't
- 1:23:03like I'm talking about things, I am not 100% educated on so I'm
- 1:23:08not here to try to spread false information, right?
- 1:23:13But it's nice to like get different perspectives on things
- 1:23:19but sometimes it's like, well, we're all talking this.
- 1:23:21Us out. But like, how are we going to
- 1:23:22change things? You know, exactly feel like
- 1:23:26everything we went through and 2020s kind of just like got
- 1:23:29brushed under the rug, you know, still haven't really gotten past
- 1:23:33like covid even though we're opening everything back up at
- 1:23:39this point. We've been opened everything
- 1:23:41back up for Yes. Because what I don't give a shit
- 1:23:44but the rest of the country. Yeah, speaking of He got her
- 1:23:51stuff. You know, that episode of I of
- 1:23:53us talking about living here in Florida is like one of the top
- 1:23:57fives. I don't remember what I say, but
- 1:24:00I'm like, why are people listening to this specific one?
- 1:24:03That was like, what the second or third episode?
- 1:24:05We recorded like murli on. I'm I have to surprise every
- 1:24:10time I'm look. I'm like, really, for it is not
- 1:24:13that great makes a great episode.
- 1:24:15We do, we did a lot of trash-talking.
- 1:24:17I don't remember what I said. I don't even think I can.
- 1:24:20Optimus trash did I? Um honestly I don't remember.
- 1:24:25I don't remember either. And I'm too afraid to go back
- 1:24:27and listen, like how honest were we - I can tell you right now.
- 1:24:34I think idea of the nature board, I am true or like I'm
- 1:24:39true to what I said about the nature.
- 1:24:40The people know, I feel like the the further away, you get a like
- 1:24:47you go from the city, the worse, it is.
- 1:24:51Like in our land. Now, you'll find some really
- 1:24:53nice Hospital people because it's like all Disney Magic here.
- 1:24:56But like when you move away from that, it's like a little bit
- 1:25:00rougher. Well, I wouldn't say that Disney
- 1:25:01is going through some things with that, don't say gay bill.
- 1:25:05So, I think the magic is finally crumbling here and Disney, what?
- 1:25:12Is it so funny? All riled up.
- 1:25:14You get with me talk about Disney because just the way you
- 1:25:19know what? Let me not say this.
- 1:25:21This is one of the things where I'm like, should I say this
- 1:25:23publicly or keep it to myself, I might have to keep this to
- 1:25:26myself. I'll wait till I make money from
- 1:25:29this if I want to get into it or not.
- 1:25:32But right now I'm a Nobody. But like, is that a good?
- 1:25:36Is that better though? Knocks only people to be digging
- 1:25:39up this. If I do become famous, Listen, I
- 1:25:42don't want to be famous. This is what happens when we
- 1:25:45don't have a topic. Guys existential crisis, within
- 1:25:49an existing social crisis, that's my everyday life.
- 1:25:52Basically having crisis without crisis within a crisis.
- 1:25:57Mmm it's like those Russian dolls.
- 1:26:00That's how my like anxiety Works basically.
- 1:26:04Oh But yeah, yeah. Florida is a weird like it's a
- 1:26:09weird mix of like that southern mentality makes with City
- 1:26:14mentality mixed with like yeah, Island mentality like cause you
- 1:26:20know, we're off the coast of like a lot of the like, Bahamas
- 1:26:26and islands and all that, so, yeah, I don't know.
- 1:26:30It's a very interesting here. Yeah, we're just You can't get
- 1:26:36away with you can't not see one, like source of American Media
- 1:26:40word, like, they make fun of Florida.
- 1:26:43We really are the laughingstock of America.
- 1:26:46I mean, they had a whole character on the good place.
- 1:26:49So, fucking Jason has made it to high school, high school.
- 1:26:54We made it to Hollywood guys. You know what his character was
- 1:26:59accurate. So I'm not even mad at it.
- 1:27:02I am but I'm not You know, at first honestly at first, when
- 1:27:07you told me that his character was a representative of Florida,
- 1:27:10I was a little bit offended but then like the more I watched him
- 1:27:15like, okay, this is you watch the good place fairly accurate.
- 1:27:19Oh, I watched all of it like and watched it or not.
- 1:27:22But yeah it's a huge presentation of us.
- 1:27:25Yeah. I mean I don't think we're all
- 1:27:27that stupid but like fairly close.
- 1:27:31Fairly close. Yeah, you know what sometimes
- 1:27:34is, Not even just for radians in general.
- 1:27:36Is a bunch of the snowbirds that we get here.
- 1:27:39Yeah. If no one knows what a snowbird
- 1:27:41is, that's what we call. People who like live up.
- 1:27:45North mostly places that snow and they come down here during
- 1:27:48like the winter months. So like they don't have to deal
- 1:27:51with the cold weather so that's why they're called snowbirds.
- 1:27:55I have to say this for people because you know I have to
- 1:27:56remember that everyone that lives here one lives in Florida
- 1:28:00or live in America. So you know, we do have some
- 1:28:04International National listener. Shout out to you guys.
- 1:28:07Thanks for listening to us, keeping us alive, all that good
- 1:28:10stuff. But mostly also shout out to
- 1:28:13Florida because like our highest listeners are from Florida.
- 1:28:16Surprisingly. So I don't know how y'all be
- 1:28:18finding us. Exactly, but thank you.
- 1:28:23Yes, thank you so much. So Like I said there's a couple
- 1:28:32because, you know, sometimes especially when it pertains to
- 1:28:34like children's movie, there's a lot of things that people have
- 1:28:37to say. So the first one is basically
- 1:28:41just about like the puberty talk has this is basically like a
- 1:28:45puberty movie about may like growing up and being like her
- 1:28:49own person so like I know seeing online there was like a lot of
- 1:28:53weird discussions talking about like how they brought up pads
- 1:28:57because like when she first turns it to the panda, you
- 1:29:00obviously can tell All this is about her getting her period for
- 1:29:02the first time she's a 13 year old girl.
- 1:29:04So it was just really weird to me, like, how there's just all
- 1:29:07these like - discussions about, like the movie talking about,
- 1:29:11maybe getting her period? I mean, like, this is something
- 1:29:14that happens in real life. And especially, if you were a
- 1:29:17parent & Parent of a woman who has uteruses.
- 1:29:21We all get our periods. Like, basic biology needs to be
- 1:29:26taught better in school, guys. Come on now.
- 1:29:31Really understand why it's such like a taboo topic, like it, how
- 1:29:34it affects 50% of the population, and the other 50%
- 1:29:38should know about it because it's, you know, eventually at
- 1:29:42some point, probably going to affect them to or their partner
- 1:29:44or whatever. You know, like you can eat eat,
- 1:29:47whether you are in a relationship with someone who
- 1:29:50has one, or you are related to someone who has one, or you have
- 1:29:53a child that has one, like it's going to affect you at some
- 1:29:56point in your life, so ugly. It's not something that should
- 1:30:00be how the secret because especially like this.
- 1:30:02Like, you know, we don't ask for it.
- 1:30:06This if I could like not have a period, I would not want it, but
- 1:30:12it's something as women, we have to deal with.
- 1:30:15And make sure we're dealing with a healthy wise to and think most
- 1:30:18people would choose, not to, it's part of why the population
- 1:30:22continues to grow. So like, it's, I don't know.
- 1:30:26I think, people think that it's Taboo and in it, people think
- 1:30:30that it's like quote-unquote gross or whatever and like, they
- 1:30:33don't want to talk about it and like you should just deal with
- 1:30:35it on your own. But like what about the girls
- 1:30:38that don't have the proper and like, parental background to
- 1:30:42teach them that, you know, like whether it's your parents or the
- 1:30:45school system, teaching you about this thing that you're
- 1:30:47going to have to go through. Like there's got to be some
- 1:30:50education on it and if Pixar movie can teach one little girl
- 1:30:55that it's okay to have this thing then they succeeded.
- 1:30:58But they didn't really go into it per se like the details of
- 1:31:02it. Yeah.
- 1:31:03Like that's why I because like at the other day, This is a
- 1:31:06child's movie but they still brought it up like it's a normal
- 1:31:10thing which it is. So it's more about like the
- 1:31:12emotional thing and then like the I mean, she is embarrassed
- 1:31:17by the fact that her mom like brings that stuff to school,
- 1:31:21which by all means. I don't like that.
- 1:31:23I would have ran away, but yeah, so I don't know if they're like,
- 1:31:28showing it. Are they showing it in a good
- 1:31:29light or not but I think that was just to highlight the
- 1:31:33overbearing - yeah. Yeah, not necessarily a
- 1:31:38commentary on. Yeah, yeah, there's no problem.
- 1:31:41Bringing it up either because like I said, this is something
- 1:31:44normal and like girls her age and some even younger start that
- 1:31:47early. So like you want to make sure
- 1:31:49they are properly educated of what is going to happen to them.
- 1:31:53Yeah, I make sure to hit it just right.
- 1:31:55Even just the mention of it in a like a major production is, is
- 1:31:59step in the right direction? Because even though it's not
- 1:32:01like, a physiological like discussion or like how Be
- 1:32:06educated. It's just like bring it up.
- 1:32:08Like it's something normal that you can just talk about in
- 1:32:11passing rather than it being weird.
- 1:32:13I also think like people have this weird like obsession over
- 1:32:19like being angry about it just because I don't know why we I
- 1:32:23mean biologically, yes, but like we associate girls that get
- 1:32:27their period with like, oh, the ready for six now and that's not
- 1:32:30the case. So it's also like this weird Sex
- 1:32:33Lies ation of the children that Also makes me upset because
- 1:32:37that's not acceptable. I don't know like it's hard to
- 1:32:41explain but that's another that's one thing.
- 1:32:43I was kind of taking away from like the discussion.
- 1:32:45I was saying I'm like you anyway.
- 1:32:50I don't know, but this shouldn't be something like we're saying
- 1:32:54to be embarrassed about or sexualize either, which is weird
- 1:32:58in itself. So the controversy itself was
- 1:33:02bringing up that topic. Yeah, it really is.
- 1:33:15So this forum was full of like, what type of people Amy just
- 1:33:20just about everybody. Okay?
- 1:33:22Yeah, I just said that to say that but it was like men.
- 1:33:25Women parent that was gonna say if you were looking at like a
- 1:33:31like an Asian Forum, then it would make sense why they think
- 1:33:36it's taboo because it's still Taboo in that area.
- 1:33:39So, for them to see that like, on a big screen, it's like, oh
- 1:33:41my gosh. Whoa, what's going on here?
- 1:33:44So it makes sense why they had that kind of like reaction.
- 1:33:48I don't Know about that I know is mostly like I feel like white
- 1:33:53people for me and like the conservative one.
- 1:33:55So I was saying, so That's interesting.
- 1:34:01Hmm. Considering all the other type
- 1:34:04of cotton content. You see exactly TV.
- 1:34:08It's appealing. I love Shrek Shrek.
- 1:34:13It's one of my favorite movies and I'm like, this is a kids
- 1:34:20movie, it's not pigs are and it's not Disney, but still
- 1:34:25right? And there's so many others I
- 1:34:27could name, right. I think that's In like forever.
- 1:34:30Like a lot of adult jokes are hidden in children's movies.
- 1:34:33So that the parents that are forced to watch them can laugh
- 1:34:37at things. I guess.
- 1:34:40I also don't always see like yes.
- 1:34:42Sometimes they're made for kids but like I feel like it goes.
- 1:34:45Can enjoy them to bring their youth back and I made like PG
- 1:34:49one's not like yeah yeah. No by all means.
- 1:34:52I'm just saying. I think that was the original
- 1:34:54intent. It's all.
- 1:34:55Yeah. I don't mean shows like what's
- 1:34:58that one? That's really popular.
- 1:35:00Her with the children is, like, Coco melon or something like
- 1:35:02that. Like, don't make me watch that.
- 1:35:04But I could do stuff like this and like even some G rated
- 1:35:08movies. So it's so funny, regarding
- 1:35:11Coco, melon, slight tangent. It's like half my kids.
- 1:35:15Love it and half of my kids hate it.
- 1:35:17And I'm just like, Coco. Melon is not very representative
- 1:35:20of like a good show but anyway, that's a different commentary /.
- 1:35:24Different episode. I know nothing about it.
- 1:35:27I'm not around children. So that's just one that I know
- 1:35:29is Popular among kids under 10, right?
- 1:35:32Very popular. Yeah.
- 1:35:34So that's the onlythe ample, I could bring up, I mean, it makes
- 1:35:38it onto Netflix has top 10 so you can imagine how popular it
- 1:35:43is. Yeah, no one's like our age
- 1:35:45anymore, no one remembers the Blues Clues, or the door
- 1:35:48explorers, or things like that. So yeah.
- 1:35:52Okay. But anything else we want to
- 1:35:54talk about that first one? Just the personally, I just
- 1:35:57think it's the weirdest of the yeah.
- 1:36:01Okay, the next one that really stood out to me that is one to
- 1:36:04bring out was like I guess Maze and her friends obsession with
- 1:36:09for Town and like I guess also just really getting into K-pop.
- 1:36:13Like I can sympathize a little bit better because especially
- 1:36:16when I was younger like I've said this before, I wasn't
- 1:36:18really into like boy bands growing up.
- 1:36:22It was definitely like a later reaction, but like still,
- 1:36:24there's still just like a stigmatism of like fangirls and
- 1:36:28fangirl. I can't read.
- 1:36:30When it comes to just like things woman, really enjoy, but
- 1:36:33no one ever says the same thing about men and sports right?
- 1:36:37Or just Sports me, I thought General.
- 1:36:39When do you ever see a fangirl Go destroy a town?
- 1:36:42Because their team lost a cave, right?
- 1:36:46Get it to that, but it sports fans are way more hardcore, but
- 1:36:51like they're young is supposed to show them.
- 1:36:53Like they're still children. They're just excited about
- 1:36:55something. Why are you diminishing their
- 1:36:58excitement, like the season? This is not the first time where
- 1:37:01they show that type of obsession that would like a group in the
- 1:37:05movie. Are you talking about a media
- 1:37:07lime, just talking about in general, like, in other movies,
- 1:37:09you see, like people around that age, like be obsessed with some
- 1:37:13sort of group, I guess, because people are upset, like they're
- 1:37:16still stigmatizing like, I don't know, maybe just like the
- 1:37:19fangirl whole Mantra, which they're not all like that.
- 1:37:21It may be because I am older. I'm not that crazy.
- 1:37:25Even if I was younger, does his me?
- 1:37:26Personally, I'm not like that, but there are like people that I
- 1:37:29know Like see what I do go to concerts who just get that
- 1:37:33excited, but this is totally harmless.
- 1:37:34So that's what I mean the harmless ones like they're just
- 1:37:38excited about seeing or hearing stuff that they love.
- 1:37:42Yeah, the end of the day, it's just music like it's not hurting
- 1:37:45anybody. Exactly.
- 1:37:47And some of the comments, her mom was saying in the movie.
- 1:37:50The gyrating, I found that I found a comment hilarious
- 1:37:56emphasis on gyrating. Yeah.
- 1:38:00Yeah, I don't know. I just saw it more like I could
- 1:38:05like, now as I'm into, I guess my fangirl are, I could see it
- 1:38:10better and just like, just let them have fun and even then they
- 1:38:14just be like if that's not your thing that's just not your
- 1:38:17thing. But like they just want to end
- 1:38:19was, it's a bonding experience with her and her friends?
- 1:38:22Yeah. Yeah.
- 1:38:23So I thought it was cute, they're not doing it.
- 1:38:26Like I said, it's harmless, you're not doing anything.
- 1:38:29I would be more concerned. Sorry if they're like, some
- 1:38:31people were there, like saying certain stuff online or, like,
- 1:38:35beak, almost, stalkerish, and away.
- 1:38:37That's when your kind of have to be like, okay, dial it back a
- 1:38:40little, or, like, we need to talk about this, but the way
- 1:38:43they were portrayed, I think it was fine.
- 1:38:46The people who are saying that these girls are, like, way.
- 1:38:49Obsessed with these boys, haven't seen BTS stand Twitter
- 1:38:55because they're just if to me that they're really just into
- 1:38:59The Newsroom. Isaac.
- 1:39:00And they just want to go to the concert like those are there
- 1:39:02means goals, they're not like talking about, you know, their
- 1:39:05personal lives like or like, you know, harassing people about
- 1:39:10this group or whatever, they're like, literally, just we love
- 1:39:13these people, we love their music.
- 1:39:14We want to go to their concert to me, that that's not like,
- 1:39:17nearly to the point where you see some people like online in
- 1:39:21real life because they're not like this, not if there is the
- 1:39:24whole movie was about their obsession, with four Town, it
- 1:39:27would be different. But like, they're just having
- 1:39:29fun. They're Other things like, you
- 1:39:32know, like, I don't know. It's just, it doesn't seem that
- 1:39:35big of a deal to me. Like may still very into her
- 1:39:37grades and stuff, like she's not letting her obsession with for
- 1:39:40Town distract her from her real goals and her personal life.
- 1:39:45Yeah. She still wants to be like a
- 1:39:48straight, A student. Yeah all that good stuff I just
- 1:39:52saw it more as like a healthy balance.
- 1:39:54Mmm personally me too okay but yeah and then our last quote
- 1:39:59Occult controversy, like I only wrote These down, they're all
- 1:40:03dumb to be to be honest but I just feel like, hey, some more
- 1:40:08talking points for the movie. And this is the one where I feel
- 1:40:12like it's the dumbest wall. No offense.
- 1:40:16I feel like it's designed to Cable.
- 1:40:18I could say this like it's just a bunch of online stuff.
- 1:40:23So, This is going to be the log 1/2.
- 1:40:27So this is about who for town is based off of now, first of all
- 1:40:33okay do you have a feeling of going?
- 1:40:39But so I remember wouldn't before this movie even came out,
- 1:40:44we're getting pictures of like for town, you know, taehyung
- 1:40:49obviously is supposed to be Korean and then when you saw
- 1:40:55like his Little background story.
- 1:40:58Bunch of armies were like, oh my God, the Creator must have, you
- 1:41:02know, base them off of Jim. And he looks just like jimin.
- 1:41:07So then an article, I can't find the actual article, but I
- 1:41:11remember seeing this and reading it.
- 1:41:13So there's an article came out where the Creator, I guess.
- 1:41:16She said she based it off of Big Bang and 2 p.m. now I'll talk
- 1:41:22about my thing at first because Purse.
- 1:41:27I don't know a lot about 2 p.m. so I won't talk about them but I
- 1:41:33don't really, I don't know, a lot about Big Bang either, but
- 1:41:36every time I would listen to Big Banks songs or see them.
- 1:41:39I don't really see it because I feel like four towns kind of
- 1:41:43like that cutesy. Like, not pretty.
- 1:41:49Yeah, kind of pretty boy band where they're like, they'll take
- 1:41:52you home to your parents, your parents will accept them where
- 1:41:55every time, I Give big bang. I'm like all the girls want
- 1:41:57them, but you wouldn't really want to take him home to your
- 1:42:00parents. So, in that sense, I didn't see
- 1:42:04it as far as like, the way Big Bang was like promoted as a
- 1:42:09group. There's promoted more as like,
- 1:42:11the hard edges of the bad boys time.
- 1:42:14Yeah. I know more about 2 p.m., and I
- 1:42:17would say if anything, it may for down leans way more towards
- 1:42:212 p.m. then, it does think they, okay?
- 1:42:23So I can see that. But like, even then I I wasn't
- 1:42:26like when I first saw the pictures, I wasn't even thinking
- 1:42:28Kpop because like, you know, Kpop is based off of American
- 1:42:33boy bands from here. Like he posed, very young.
- 1:42:36It only started in the 90s and I think someone correct me if I'm
- 1:42:41wrong. I think really where you can
- 1:42:42trace back like Kpop like the group's we know now like what it
- 1:42:46was derived from like maybe 1992 maybe like actual 90s.
- 1:42:51I think 92. But like when I saw them, I was
- 1:42:54thinking of like, you know, And seeing Backstreet Boys, Boys to
- 1:42:59Men B2K. He's gonna say the same thing.
- 1:43:03I'm more of like a Backstreet Boys.
- 1:43:05Yes, I initially saw it because I didn't I didn't know anything
- 1:43:08about this movie until you said it.
- 1:43:10I had no idea what they look like.
- 1:43:11I had no concept of what anything was happening when I,
- 1:43:14when they first appeared on screen.
- 1:43:15I thought One Direction. Yeah.
- 1:43:17You could say One Direction. I was thinking, like, even like
- 1:43:20some. Well, like I said, I wasn't into
- 1:43:23boy Greece. But, like, in Middle School I
- 1:43:24was kind of like, in Ooh, this group called Mindless Behavior,
- 1:43:27I thought of them so and even you can throw it back to like
- 1:43:30the Jackson 5. So I was thinking more of those
- 1:43:35along those lines. Now articles now kind of say it
- 1:43:37was based off of 90's boy bands, and America.
- 1:43:43I'm excited Kpop and then they do mention like DTS also.
- 1:43:46So I don't really know which one was correct.
- 1:43:48I just remember that being a thing because he know how.
- 1:43:51Yeah, they just for me at least they gave off like one, Your
- 1:43:56boyfriend Vibes. Yes, where I don't get that from
- 1:43:59Kpop, at least. Not the group's.
- 1:44:01I listen to, like the kind of more basic cheesy lyrics of just
- 1:44:05like, I'll be this person to you, you know, kind of thing.
- 1:44:08Like, I don't know if I found some K-pop groups that I listen
- 1:44:11to. I mean, every once in a while, a
- 1:44:14song will be like that. But for the most part, I don't
- 1:44:16get that Vibe. I think there are things like
- 1:44:18that in 2nd gen and they are now.
- 1:44:20But yes, yes, if anything second gen Kpop more so than Any?
- 1:44:25Yes? And I think it's director is
- 1:44:27pretty young. I think she's in her early 30s.
- 1:44:29So, like, I understand that too. But like right?
- 1:44:31I was thinking like, when I first even read that, I'm like,
- 1:44:34I'm not even thinking Kpop, I'm honestly, not even thinking BTS.
- 1:44:36I'm thinking like, American or groups of the ones I just
- 1:44:39mentioned. And I guess One Direction in
- 1:44:41there even though they're not American but still there a, you
- 1:44:44know. Yeah.
- 1:44:45They they give off the boyfriend Vibe, sell for sure.
- 1:44:48Jonas Brothers, I was thought of the Jonas, Brothers, a little
- 1:44:51bit or go for me. It was definitely like 90s 90's,
- 1:44:55boy band. Yeah, exactly.
- 1:44:57Especially the way the tune is to of, like the song.
- 1:44:59Yes, that's definitely very 90s. He had a song in the vibe of
- 1:45:03everything, I definitely would stray away from modern-day Kpop.
- 1:45:07However, I do admit that the Asian character does look a
- 1:45:12little bit, like jimin. Like, if you're gonna make me
- 1:45:14say it, I'm sorry. It's just, like, just the, the
- 1:45:21smoldering look and the blond hair and just there are, I can
- 1:45:25See how armies would be like oh my God, she's like modeled after
- 1:45:28him. I don't necessarily agree with
- 1:45:30the fact that he's modeled off of him but there are comparisons
- 1:45:33that you can make there. Yeah, for sure.
- 1:45:36I'm not gonna deny that either because when I first saw that to
- 1:45:40of like, oh my God, that would look like with jimin would look
- 1:45:43like when he's animated. So yeah.
- 1:45:46Well we haven't been blond in a while though but I like the
- 1:45:48black hair on him. The blond is like kind of like
- 1:45:52an iconic moment like when you think of jimin and we might not
- 1:45:56necessarily be into it like that would be the image that you
- 1:45:58would think of. So Yes, but I just wanted to
- 1:46:05bring that up. So it was just really The Clash
- 1:46:08of that. So I mostly thought of the, the
- 1:46:12boy groups that I named earlier. So yeah, the whole, the overall
- 1:46:16Vibe of the group definitely. Yeah, it's just, there are all
- 1:46:20just based off of different basically.
- 1:46:23I feel like boy, bands throughout the decades, that
- 1:46:26what we grew up with, right? I think people who don't
- 1:46:29actually listen to Kpop BTS, I specifically would think that
- 1:46:33this is what they're like, if they had never heard any of
- 1:46:35their stuff, if that makes sense, like the stereotypical
- 1:46:39boy band aesthetic. I think that's what they're
- 1:46:42portraying, but like, I don't even go, I wouldn't even go
- 1:46:45through my mind. Doesn't go through Kpop for his
- 1:46:47mind, goes to the 90s of lie, Nsync and Backstreet Boys.
- 1:46:51And even when I was not old enough to like, to have, been
- 1:46:55around to stand them, and I wasn't exposed to their music,
- 1:46:58except for, like, you know, the one or two popular.
- 1:47:01Once I agree with you, but I'm just saying from if these, these
- 1:47:06critics that are just looking at it from a Faraway glance that
- 1:47:10aren't into this stuff, I feel like Kpop is exploding right
- 1:47:14now. So yeah.
- 1:47:15Maybe they're thinking that it's it's like capitalizing off of
- 1:47:20the fact that k-pops exploding right now.
- 1:47:21Even though that's not really what modern-day Kpop is like and
- 1:47:24that make sense. Yeah yeah I get it.
- 1:47:34Okay, so my next point is like the decision to embrace the
- 1:47:39Panda versus suppression. So she's really the only person
- 1:47:43in her family that decided to embrace it.
- 1:47:46Fully if you were in her situation, would you em embrace
- 1:47:52it or would you suppress it and like why do you think she came
- 1:47:55to the decision? She did.
- 1:48:02I think honestly, I probably would suppress it just because
- 1:48:06of like my personality. It's easier for me to suppress
- 1:48:10something, than to be that expressive.
- 1:48:11But with a her, she had more to gain from keeping the panda,
- 1:48:15then from suppressing it. So I could see why she did that.
- 1:48:18Yeah, she learned to live with it more that I think.
- 1:48:21Probably all the women in our generation really learned,
- 1:48:23honestly, besides like the Creator, right.
- 1:48:27I think I would tend to agree with you in the face on the
- 1:48:30whole suppression thing. Only because in a realistic
- 1:48:33standpoint I don't really love to like show my emotions.
- 1:48:38Like on that kind of level. I think I tend to keep things to
- 1:48:42myself even though I'm becoming way more expressive with like my
- 1:48:46outward appearance or what I can say to people.
- 1:48:48I still like my emotions. Friends, I still kind of keep to
- 1:48:53myself. So unless I just can't, you
- 1:48:56know, like I kind of hate the fact that I've cried twice now
- 1:49:03at work one when Lucy died and two when my uncle died.
- 1:49:08So I and that's not something that I've never done before.
- 1:49:12I've never cried in front of a co-worker, so, and I think it's
- 1:49:16just too. I think it's proving just that
- 1:49:18how comfortable I do feel with my co-workers, which is a Right
- 1:49:21thing. And to that, I'm becoming more
- 1:49:23comfortable with letting my emotions out, but I'm still not
- 1:49:27quite all there. That I would, I think that I
- 1:49:29would let my emotions become into a physical Beast that would
- 1:49:32just pop out. You know what I mean?
- 1:49:37Turn into a big fluffy eight-foot, giant red panda.
- 1:49:41I mean, I would be cool with that but I don't think that's
- 1:49:44super realistic in our society. Nothing is supposed to be
- 1:49:48realistic but I don't If it was, yeah, if it was I don't know how
- 1:49:53much that would be accepted and that, you know, people suck,
- 1:49:57they would probably if it was accepted be like, oh taboo, she
- 1:50:00let her panda out, like, she's too emotional, like our society.
- 1:50:05We turned it into that. I guess you could kind of
- 1:50:07compare it to people who are just the no filter type of
- 1:50:11people. Yeah, you can kind of compare it
- 1:50:13to that. Yeah.
- 1:50:14Well, what extent though? Because even now, like, as I get
- 1:50:17older, like I realize a lot of those no filter people were just
- 1:50:21Like route and try to use it as being no filter.
- 1:50:25When that's not really received between no filter of like
- 1:50:28accepting yourself, like expressing yourself of like who
- 1:50:32you actually are. And then there's just like the
- 1:50:34no filter of like just being a spiteful person.
- 1:50:39Yeah, so if it's the no filter of like maze side than, yeah, I
- 1:50:45want to be like that if it's not that no.
- 1:50:48Yeah, I think it's just it's down to like the Being afraid to
- 1:50:52be vulnerable, kind of thing and laying everything out on the
- 1:50:55table. Like I'm still kind of the type
- 1:50:56of person that wants to keep some of my cards hidden, you
- 1:51:00know? So it would be very hard for me
- 1:51:02to just completely release it all like that.
- 1:51:04Yeah, yeah. Um, I didn't answer.
- 1:51:08So I would probably agree. I was trying to think, I think I
- 1:51:11would agree with you guys as far as suppressing it but like I
- 1:51:15kind of want to start embracing my panda more with the people I
- 1:51:19trust because I am kind of The same thing.
- 1:51:21Like I don't really show my emotions and like even just like
- 1:51:25speaking my opinion, I still struggle with that and I noticed
- 1:51:28that too, like even with this podcast like there's some things
- 1:51:31I want to say and I don't and like it's just because I wasn't
- 1:51:35really taught to do that. I don't know how to do it
- 1:51:38properly. So like as far as people I don't
- 1:51:41know like yes I want to be like more myself but like still kind
- 1:51:45of calm down just because that's the way I am.
- 1:51:47I still am kind of shy like anxious around people.
- 1:51:50I don't know. I probably suppress it, but as
- 1:51:52far as like just like with my friends and family, I tried I do
- 1:51:56want to try to embrace my panda more, that makes sense like
- 1:52:01some. Absolutely.
- 1:52:02I don't want to make this. I don't make this too deep but
- 1:52:06like, one of the reasons I've just realized, like, recently,
- 1:52:09when I was doing, like, a professional development for
- 1:52:12like school, like one of the reasons why I'm just so hesitant
- 1:52:16of speaking. My mind of saying, like, what I
- 1:52:18want, what I don't want is because of The social, like lash
- 1:52:22back like backlash, that I'd get because growing up, like, I grew
- 1:52:28up around the time when 9/11 was like still fresh.
- 1:52:31So there was like that. Islamophobia.
- 1:52:33That still existed. So we were always taught at home
- 1:52:36to always, you know, keep your comments to yourself.
- 1:52:39Make sure you're politically correct.
- 1:52:41When you're saying something, you're not saying something so
- 1:52:42outlandish that people are just going to look at you like this
- 1:52:46girl's concerning. So like I kind of like
- 1:52:48internalized that and like just recently, I Lies.
- 1:52:51That is one of the reasons why I'm not as us outspoken as I
- 1:52:55could be. So, yeah.
- 1:52:57So that's just one of the just came to mind when you were
- 1:53:00talking Simone. Yeah.
- 1:53:01No. I get that.
- 1:53:03So that makes sense. Why it's more of kind of just
- 1:53:06like, and the parents, it's like, especially with my mom,
- 1:53:10it's kind of like, if I wanted to say something it was like,
- 1:53:14oh, you're just a child. You don't know anything.
- 1:53:16You'll know, when you grow up, like never really have a
- 1:53:18discussions with me. Like, well, why there's so much
- 1:53:21Know that now. Yeah, like I said earlier
- 1:53:25growing up in like a predominantly like white area.
- 1:53:29She didn't want me to be perceived as like, I guess, the
- 1:53:31other black kids like be like loud and rambunctious and like,
- 1:53:36especially like as a woman, I guess try to fit more into like
- 1:53:40what why people will want to see me as to try to accept me?
- 1:53:44And that's another thing. Like I've been seeing
- 1:53:46discussions about with though, I really did want to bring this
- 1:53:48up, but the whole Oscar thing that Last time I can see those
- 1:53:52point of views are stuff, which no one has still apologize to
- 1:53:55Jada. But again, we're not going to
- 1:53:56get into that. But I'm just saying, things
- 1:53:58along that line is why I have problems expressing myself and
- 1:54:02how people are so quick to shut it down.
- 1:54:04Words like, you don't know what you're talking about or like if
- 1:54:08someone says something inventive, like it's just a
- 1:54:10joke, things along that nature. So it really isn't about, just
- 1:54:15like learning how to express yourself.
- 1:54:17It's the fear of, like the backlash, you will get Like it's
- 1:54:21not even a question like you are going to get some like backlash
- 1:54:25from saying things on your mind. So it's just it's kind of
- 1:54:28completely situation like you want to express yourself to a
- 1:54:31certain extent, but you also don't want to like, you know,
- 1:54:36mess with like your few people's perception of you or like, your,
- 1:54:41you know, your opportunities because people are crazy and
- 1:54:44like you say, the wrong thing, you could ruin an opportunity
- 1:54:47for herself. So it's just ugly, we have to
- 1:54:50tiptoe. Around each other because of
- 1:54:52these these stereotypes that we put into our own Society.
- 1:54:56So I guess that's why I said, like, Society wise, I suppress
- 1:55:01it. But like I want to embrace more
- 1:55:02friends and family, so people like truck around, you know?
- 1:55:05Because unfortunately it's like the whole like you have to keep
- 1:55:09yourself safe. So like say what you feel like
- 1:55:12you can public environment to keep yourself safe, while still
- 1:55:15expressing a part of your opinion, and then let it out
- 1:55:19more. So with people that you know,
- 1:55:20that you're safe, If with no matter what so you just want to
- 1:55:24say though if it's like a toxic or like an abusive situation
- 1:55:28then definitely speak out like whether it's at work at home
- 1:55:31whatever because you don't want to go through that Agony like
- 1:55:35every single day. Yeah no, no one deserves the
- 1:55:39right to be belittled so definitely And I forever busy
- 1:55:48hard-working man, Jackson Wang, apparently, it's going to have a
- 1:55:52song on the new Minions movie that I didn't even know they
- 1:55:57were making, or he posted it on his Instagram and I was like,
- 1:56:01what is this? And I realize like this is a
- 1:56:03Minions movie, It's called Minions.
- 1:56:05The rise of grew and is dropping July first, okay, this might
- 1:56:08sound stupid of me, but I think I've only ever seen the first,
- 1:56:13like, Minions movie. A how many are there?
- 1:56:16Is there not B1 minions, move. I swear.
- 1:56:19There's a second. One is there.
- 1:56:21I swear, I know. There are three Despicable Me
- 1:56:24movies. Oh, baby.
- 1:56:26That's what I'm thinking of and there's a minion movie.
- 1:56:29Okay, I've seen the first Despicable Me, but I haven't
- 1:56:30seen anything else. Yeah, there's Despicable Me.
- 1:56:33There's Despicable Me 2 and there's Despicable Me 3.
- 1:56:37Second one is like when he meets a girl and becomes like I think
- 1:56:42she's a spy and she like becomes part of the family and then the
- 1:56:47and one I think is, when he like basically tries to become a good
- 1:56:49guy, see also re-released in the first one, okay?
- 1:56:55And that's really all you need to see it, to be honest.
- 1:56:58I don't remember if I saw the Minions movie.
- 1:57:00I think I did. I feel like I've seen clips from
- 1:57:03it, like it does. Isn't it like, from like how
- 1:57:06they evolved, like it starts off in?
- 1:57:07Like, yeah, it's basically how they meet grew, but it like
- 1:57:13shows like their creation basically.
- 1:57:16I think real story. Trailer for it.
- 1:57:18So I know the premise of the movie, but I act didn't actually
- 1:57:20watch it because it focuses on like, three main ones.
- 1:57:24I know one of them is Kevin Kevin and I forgot the other
- 1:57:31ones and then there's one, which is one I think, is his name.
- 1:57:35Like I want to say like Bob or something, girl, I don't
- 1:57:38remember. Who Indians movie look out for
- 1:57:46Jackson's song to be part of that official soundtrack.
- 1:57:50That would be the only reason I would watch that movie.
- 1:57:53I mean, you can also just listen to the album despite his song
- 1:57:59that man just never never takes a break working all the time,
- 1:58:04right? But yes and then 14 which is the
- 1:58:12only song that's actually going to be available on digital
- 1:58:15because that's their other. New song is called for youth,
- 1:58:20cool. And of course, I can tell that's
- 1:58:22a new Army song because the for youth is like in the name of
- 1:58:26army the acronym. Yeah, adorable representation.
- 1:58:34Why can I never remember this acronym?
- 1:58:36Send. It is right represent.
- 1:58:38What did I say? You said he said representation.
- 1:58:42Yeah. As a sampling Representatives.
- 1:58:45Same thing, what a bad fan. No, seriously, though, what is
- 1:59:05it? I don't know whole thing but you
- 1:59:07said you said representation, but it's Representatives.
- 1:59:11Those are two different. It's a representative for youth
- 1:59:18or of Youth, yeah. Yeah, something like that.
- 1:59:22Where is the m? AR.
- 1:59:29Where's the music? I'ma look this up.
- 1:59:38It is adorable representative. MC for Hughes and see.
- 1:59:44This is like what is the m That's a lot of just that's like
- 1:59:52but isn't you know what never mind.
- 1:59:54Yeah that's it guys. That's proof.
- 1:59:57Let me solve talking because I'm rambling and stumbling a lot but
- 2:00:03I'm excited and I have begged everyone if we can talk about it
- 2:00:07when it comes out because we manifested for be.
- 2:00:10So of course, when I'm do it for this one and bring it already
- 2:00:12said, yes. So I'm sure we'll do an album
- 2:00:15review. I don't know if we'll do all we
- 2:00:16just like the new songs or all the songs.
- 2:00:20Especially if the weather there be mastered or not.
- 2:00:23That's true, but we'll see. So, stay tuned for that and she
- 2:00:28has already pre-ordered this album so I'm sure she could talk
- 2:00:31about CD3. I like to wait.
- 2:00:33I told her this to I was like listen everyone and their
- 2:00:36mothers are going on tour right now.
- 2:00:39So like I just have a feeling when this drops some type of
- 2:00:42tour is going to be a now. So I need to save accordingly
- 2:00:45and properly so that the alpha blader or I can buy it at the
- 2:00:49venue but I need to save up. I need to be ready.
- 2:00:52I'm prepared. Yeah.
- 2:00:57And also, at the time of this recording, my birthday is on
- 2:01:02Saturday and I will be the big 25.
- 2:01:07You get to join the old person Club.
- 2:01:09Welcome to join the old person Club.
- 2:01:13Welcome my God, I already feel it in my body for it.
- 2:01:17I don't think I'm doing anything.
- 2:01:18I'm sure. My dad will, like, drag me out
- 2:01:21at least lunch so I'm not stuck in the house but like, you know,
- 2:01:27I don't know if this is just a man thing but my dad hasn't, it
- 2:01:32is not his fault because usually I don't really ask for anything
- 2:01:35or like I'm that type of person where, like, if I have the
- 2:01:38money, and if I want something, I usually buy it for myself.
- 2:01:41So it's kind of hard to get a gift for me.
- 2:01:44But like this year, I was like, you know what?
- 2:01:46I want him to actually get me a gift.
- 2:01:48So I told him like, Hey, Dad, my shoes are very old and the ones
- 2:01:51I wear to work or if basically going to start having holes in
- 2:01:53them, why don't you just give me some new shoes?
- 2:01:55And he's like so you don't want the money for The new shoes.
- 2:01:58I'm like, always give me the money and I pick out my gifts.
- 2:02:02Actually want a gift from you this time and I'm like, he's
- 2:02:05like, do you trust me what the gift I'm like, do you trust
- 2:02:08yourself to get me a gift? He's like, well I don't I'm not
- 2:02:12sure if I know what you like. What if I don't get your style?
- 2:02:15I'm like that is a great thing about receipts.
- 2:02:17Father, I could take it back but it's the thought that counts
- 2:02:21that you put in the time and effort to get me a gift.
- 2:02:26So that's the way you did last night.
- 2:02:27Night and then he called me he's like are you sure you trust me
- 2:02:30with this? And that's what I reiterate.
- 2:02:32I'm like Dad, do you not trust yourself to pick out a decent
- 2:02:35gift for me? I'm literally asking for shoes.
- 2:02:38Black is the safest option to go already told you my size and
- 2:02:43again if they don't fit I could return them or change though.
- 2:02:48Exactly. So I'm going through that but
- 2:02:50other than that that's good. And then, while he was in that
- 2:02:57new group, that was when he came up with his shown, his show new
- 2:03:00stage name, which it's a, it's a play on his name, a real name
- 2:03:04and it means show you new things as my lover.
- 2:03:11Yeah, right. And then as far as he
- 2:03:15participates, he is the main dancer.
- 2:03:17He participates in a lot of their choreo creation and he was
- 2:03:21on hit the stage in 2016. I don't remember what year?
- 2:03:25Yugyeom was on it. It doesn't also 2016.
- 2:03:28They I think they may have competed against each other.
- 2:03:30Oh God. Which I believe you?
- 2:03:32Come one. Yeah, but he was on the show and
- 2:03:35then like I said earlier, he enlisted in the military July,
- 2:03:3922 of 20, 22, July 22nd of 23, no 2021 may see.
- 2:03:48We're in May, you said 2022, we are in May of 2022.
- 2:03:59Later in July. That's what months.
- 2:04:07That's what I was. So happy he went last year like
- 2:04:10last year 2020. I'm like, there's no way I knew
- 2:04:14it. Yep. 2021.
- 2:04:17Dang it. But what's wrong with me?
- 2:04:19It's fine. It's fine.
- 2:04:23Remember time is an illusion, so it's All Tha good.
- 2:04:27It was. That's why I was twenty.
- 2:04:28Second this me up? I'd wrote 2220 twice.
- 2:04:31Okay? Cuz I was like we're in May.
- 2:04:35Yeah, he wouldn't have gone yet. If that was the case.
- 2:04:39That's why I thought that hasn't been at the military.
- 2:04:42Yeah, I suppose 2020, but I knew it was either.
- 2:04:45Yes, but he's on all the other albums.
- 2:04:48Except for this new one, right? So whether he was participating
- 2:04:54probably not, but he's On them, like, it's voice because, yeah,
- 2:04:57because I remember, I was like, I could have sworn the past
- 2:05:00ones. His vocals are yes, what was her
- 2:05:03on there? But I thought he wasn't
- 2:05:04promoting with them. That's why I got confused.
- 2:05:09Okay. Well anyway - my my my
- 2:05:13misinformation it's okay. You we corrected it?
- 2:05:17Hmm, I've been really confusing. If I posted this in made usage
- 2:05:21alive, 2022 of like shouldn't you still be in the group with
- 2:05:27promotions not good? It's funny mishap Okay.
- 2:05:37Ready for the next one I am. Ready, are you ready?
- 2:05:40Yep, as I said, this is City. Gotta bring some SpongeBob in
- 2:05:44there, your favorite? Yeah, next home is.
- 2:05:48Fatal love with the title track. Love killer
- 2:06:09My eyes straight into my eyes and said, hey, what's eating?
- 2:06:14You like main dish? I don't know who he's, I don't
- 2:06:17know if he wants me to eat him as a main dish and he wants to
- 2:06:21eat me as a main dish but I will sign up for either one, you
- 2:06:25know, it's fine either. With let's go.
- 2:06:29I am killed me in that music video.
- 2:06:32Remember seeing was freaking out and that song came out
- 2:06:34especially that part It's like, wow.
- 2:06:41Wow. Okay.
- 2:06:47So yes, we will be talking about proof which is the Anthology
- 2:06:53album that just came out by BTS celebrating their ninth
- 2:06:58anniversary before we get into the album.
- 2:07:02I figured I should just talk a little bit about Festa since
- 2:07:06June is the month that they debut and they always celebrate
- 2:07:09like the first I would say two weeks really of June for their
- 2:07:15debut and then just happened. We're on the time, they dropped
- 2:07:18the album, which I'm sure it was intentional, especially learning
- 2:07:21the stuff. We know, now, it's like, At
- 2:07:24first before I was a boy, when I was oblivious of, like, I was
- 2:07:27feel like I was going to say so much different stuff.
- 2:07:29And now, the stuff I know, now I'm like, I just see everything
- 2:07:32so differently, you know, like when you speculate something,
- 2:07:35but you either choose to ignore it or like, it just doesn't
- 2:07:38catch up. And then like, when something's
- 2:07:40revealed like when you're watching a really good TV show
- 2:07:43and then like everything is revealed I need to start looking
- 2:07:45back like all the clues were there.
- 2:07:48It's just yeah, I heard it before.
- 2:07:50I wasn't paying close attention hindsight, right?
- 2:07:54And you start seeing it. It's like it was right there and
- 2:07:57your face. Yeah, this whole type.
- 2:08:00So it's time to have a feeling for the past week.
- 2:08:04Yeah, that's how I felt too. So all of us have been like
- 2:08:10mentally bracing for this for a long time.
- 2:08:12Yeah. Because the longevity of K-pop
- 2:08:15groups is kind of speculated. So Mmm.
- 2:08:17Yeah, we knew it was coming and I knew it was coming.
- 2:08:21I was always prepared, but I think it just happened quicker
- 2:08:24than I thought or I was expecting it later in the year.
- 2:08:29So. But anyway, let's talk a little
- 2:08:33bit above Festa. Then this one was a little
- 2:08:35different and it should have been my first clue because even
- 2:08:38when they posted like the little schedule of like what they're
- 2:08:42going to do each day, I kind of said to myself, I was like, oh,
- 2:08:46I mean I I also thought it was cuz like the album was coming
- 2:08:49out and like you know me I was even up, you'll hear an old
- 2:08:54podcast episodes. I just kept saying like oh
- 2:08:56they're gonna go on tour, they're gonna go on tour so I
- 2:08:59thought it was like maybe they're not holding a concert
- 2:09:01for Fest so that they always did because they're preparing for
- 2:09:04tour. Well.
- 2:09:05How wrong I was wrong. I was it's okay but yes.
- 2:09:15That's it. So we're going to go ahead and
- 2:09:17move on with the second song called run BTS.
- 2:09:24It's is run BTS, on the second CD, don't a second CD, right?
- 2:09:28That starts gonna, I think so. I think yet to comes on the
- 2:09:31first CD and run bts's on the second, one is the first song
- 2:09:35that starts off like the CD where the members chose songs
- 2:09:38that felt like they represent them.
- 2:09:40So this song was produced by them joints for you.
- 2:09:45You made us what we are LLC and ghost Loop and then the writers
- 2:09:51are. It's Wayne Abernathy Junior.
- 2:09:53Who is actual them joints? His real name.
- 2:09:57RM Ebenezer. J-hope, go slip, Jungkook sugar
- 2:10:04one. I Daniel Caesar Ludwig.
- 2:10:09Lindell Melanie Joy Fontana. Michael Lindgren, show.
- 2:10:15Schultz and feli Ferraro their lord.
- 2:10:25Don't stumble and mispronounce. These
- 2:10:52Okay. Another controversial thing that
- 2:10:54I wanted to bring up with the sock so I don't remember if this
- 2:11:00happened before. We did our Kpop highlights or
- 2:11:05Not. But when the tracklist.
- 2:11:09Was released Macy before I get into it.
- 2:11:12Do you recognize the name joints?
- 2:11:15Because you listened to other K-pop groups.
- 2:11:18Vaguely. Okay.
- 2:11:20No, I don't know anything about him or what he also has worked
- 2:11:23on. I've just heard the name.
- 2:11:25Yes. So he's actually a really like
- 2:11:27involved producer like he's worked with a lot of artists.
- 2:11:30If you do just like a quick Google search that I did last
- 2:11:33night because I know him through Kpop.
- 2:11:34I don't know about his other work three-time, not nominated.
- 2:11:38I'm not. If you want any Grammys and it's
- 2:11:41just some names, like, Western artists that I'll point out.
- 2:11:43That he's worked with Eminem, dr.
- 2:11:45Dre Kanye, real Rihanna, Janet Jackson, those are big names
- 2:11:52that he has helped make songs for for Kpop.
- 2:11:55He works a lot with SM, specifically, NCT and NCT 127.
- 2:12:01So if you hear a song, I know, it's also in Chinese New Year
- 2:12:06song, don't call me and that new girl group and mix and a lot of
- 2:12:11nct's. If you hear a song, start off
- 2:12:13with the introducing, that's him.
- 2:12:16Hmm. So, you've heard his work Work.
- 2:12:18Yeah. Especially us because we're, you
- 2:12:20know, we listen to other groups, what they call us on the
- 2:12:23internet Maltese. I'm doing air quotes for people
- 2:12:26who can't see me. So when people who know him and
- 2:12:31I tweeted this on our like, podcast Twitter account, because
- 2:12:37I was like, out of all the things, I have seed being
- 2:12:41involved in Kpop, this is the dumbest thing I've ever seen
- 2:12:45because people were getting mad that he was involved in the
- 2:12:47song. Long before we even heard the
- 2:12:51song because they know he's associated with NCT and these
- 2:12:55weird fandom Wars and I still don't understand, I'm really
- 2:12:59getting tired of like over with. And like, I know people were
- 2:13:03getting mad at him because he quoted someone who was, like, I
- 2:13:07forgot what the Tweet said, but he like basically clap back and
- 2:13:10I know some people will like, why are you clapping back in an
- 2:13:12account that was just made today?
- 2:13:14I'm like, you really think someone who's being attacked for
- 2:13:17no goddamn reason. Reason is going to take time
- 2:13:19look in their account, be like, oh this must be a troll, they
- 2:13:22just made it today. Like no, I'm going to answer you
- 2:13:24back. It's so stupid.
- 2:13:26I'm sorry. But like he will, first of all,
- 2:13:31regardless of who he's worked with, before he is a I'm
- 2:13:35assuming a producer. Yes, writer both.
- 2:13:38So like he he has no claim to one specific group.
- 2:13:43He's worked for these other artists including in CDs.
- 2:13:46And now it's a problem that he's working with them there.
- 2:13:48Propofol expressed specifically, BTS.
- 2:13:50I know like I was seeing some tweets were there, like, they
- 2:13:53better not hear like, you know, how I just did his producer tag
- 2:13:56a while ago, like here, that on the song.
- 2:13:59And now that the songs released. Now, this is one of the most,
- 2:14:01like, talked about songs that I've hurt I've seen.
- 2:14:04And I'm like, okay, I mean, obviously he's good if you like
- 2:14:07him doing other songs, why would she want to spread that that
- 2:14:11Talent elsewhere because I just thought it was so dumb.
- 2:14:17And I Stand that so I can see there.
- 2:14:19I just thought it was dumb. These are good or not man but
- 2:14:22like I felt he's got and I was going his big if he has an
- 2:14:25opportunity to work with being strong at it.
- 2:14:32So he has no obligation to stick with one person or group unless
- 2:14:37he's under a contract and obviously he's not so that's
- 2:14:41dumb. And is this fun?
- 2:14:42Is this funny to me have at it like how this conversation
- 2:14:45turned Once song was released? Like I'm not gonna forget y'all
- 2:14:52talking about this man. Calling about his name for you,
- 2:14:55but heard a note of it and so that just really pissed me off
- 2:15:01and I just had to say it because people were out of pocket for
- 2:15:04that. I don't care who you stand, that
- 2:15:06was so uncalled for. Yeah.
- 2:15:09So, and like you said, I'm sure you agree.
- 2:15:13It's our favorite song. Yeah. 35, by far, I it's
- 2:15:17constantly on her. Repeat in my car right now.
- 2:15:19Like I did when I first chorus like hit and j-hope was growling
- 2:15:24that? Run, bulletproof, run.
- 2:15:26I was like the way women and Jungkook, sing the word
- 2:15:30gasoline, perfect. I'll just like, oh my God, it's
- 2:15:36his eye. I have no words.
- 2:15:38Like I can't express how much I'm looking does it too?
- 2:15:40But like, just the specific, yeah.
- 2:15:47Okay, so let me get it to the serious part.
- 2:15:50So, like I just said, about the map, not the sole.
- 2:15:52So, this is where like the 22 Mark namjoo starts, like getting
- 2:15:56more serious. And he talks about like the
- 2:15:57difficulties of him, like being creative.
- 2:16:00And, like, starting questioning, the route BTS are going as a
- 2:16:04group after butter and permission to dance.
- 2:16:06I also didn't mention this, and I didn't know if I should say
- 2:16:08this, like, cuz its shade, but notice how they didn't put my
- 2:16:11permission to dance on Anthology album.
- 2:16:18Just saying, just saying, but anyway, yeah, they didn't really
- 2:16:23talk about that song in general. They kept just saying, you know,
- 2:16:28butter, they might, you know. No, we don't need to talk about
- 2:16:3510 and like I said earlier, he expressed more that he started,
- 2:16:41like questioning this during on, and it got worse after butter,
- 2:16:45because, like, he basically just said, like, he's running out of
- 2:16:48stories to tell. Tell like he just doesn't know
- 2:16:49what to say anymore. And then I've seen this quote
- 2:16:53floating around. So like eat does kind of take a
- 2:16:57jab at the Kpop and I'll system, which I don't blame him for I
- 2:17:01know because he's now I'm doing for BTS.
- 2:17:04Even if you're a Kpop fan, like people might take this the wrong
- 2:17:07way but like what you said isn't wrong.
- 2:17:09So he says like the problem with the Kpop and Idol system, they
- 2:17:13don't give you time to mature, you have to keep producing music
- 2:17:16and keep doing other stuff. Is no time left for growth.
- 2:17:20It is not just about music and work.
- 2:17:22And like I feel like I've said that before with other groups I
- 2:17:25like like I've said that about 80s, I would consider them my
- 2:17:28second or third favorite group. And every time they come back, I
- 2:17:31was like damn and you'll just have a comeback month ago like
- 2:17:35break. It's just, it seems like their
- 2:17:37main focus and thinners tree is just production.
- 2:17:40Like, how much can you ask? Jesus, how quickly can we
- 2:17:43produce it? So how much can we produce while
- 2:17:46y'all are still young and able? To leg dance without your body's
- 2:17:51breaking down at this point with the hard choreographies, as much
- 2:17:55as I like, go up for the choreographies, it like the
- 2:17:59music because it is more like, and I think that's why I
- 2:18:03gravitated more towards Kpop because I don't know if I ever
- 2:18:06express this but like it's kind of like what the American system
- 2:18:10kind of stopped doing. Especially since they stopped
- 2:18:12producing groups as artists. Like it's not as fun anymore.
- 2:18:16Like it's still good music, a lot.
- 2:18:18Of artists produce like good meaningful music messages.
- 2:18:21But just like, you know, sometimes you just want to have
- 2:18:24a nice one song, You Can Dance to MMM.
- 2:18:28So this is really my thing, but I understand like you're right
- 2:18:32like and that's why we would always bring up the point when
- 2:18:36people would call Jin Oldham like he's not all these just old
- 2:18:39in the idol system because they put them on a shelf life.
- 2:18:44I mean just in general people especially in the end of the day
- 2:18:47be like when you're 30 or do Dead.
- 2:18:49So we're always in the grave Macy.
- 2:18:51Yay. Five more years, finally.
- 2:19:05One of my favorite, one of my favorite Jenna Marbles lines.
- 2:19:10Life is short, but it's also incredibly and painfully and
- 2:19:14disgustingly long. We're okay, guys Tapas?
- 2:19:23Um, anyway moving on. Yes.
- 2:19:28Oh and then they just kept continuing expressing their
- 2:19:32like, just how busy they were especially after diet of my.
- 2:19:35And I always said that, like, after Dynamite they blew up and
- 2:19:40away, no one expected them to. I'm sure even themselves.
- 2:19:44So it's only been two years. I still really a short amount of
- 2:19:47time. So just to be able to handle all
- 2:19:52of that all at once. Like they were already big but
- 2:19:55it just got like 10 times and then just like expressing how.
- 2:20:02He just even feel time to like think or like think about his
- 2:20:07own schedule and just had to be so focused on everyone and the
- 2:20:11group and just like trying to figure out with this new
- 2:20:16Newfound Fame basically how to push the group anymore because
- 2:20:20if he doesn't know what to talk about, then what does that mean?
- 2:20:23And then like and I was also thinking this too, that's why I
- 2:20:26thought it was weird before I knew what was happening, like
- 2:20:29they weren't holding like a Festa, he brought up like all
- 2:20:31the carnival, my carnivals, all the festivals that are happening
- 2:20:35since covid restrictions are, like, being lifted.
- 2:20:38And he gave the same example. I was thinking of a sigh, like,
- 2:20:40I've seen a lot of videos of side doing like conscious for,
- 2:20:45like, there's like thousands of People in the audience for that
- 2:20:48that and he was like, it'd be probably great if he like we
- 2:20:51started doing stuff like that but like it's tired.
- 2:20:56So I don't know, the city that just made me sad.
- 2:21:01Is this? Like even they said this, but
- 2:21:04like I just felt bad that they not just scared, but they just
- 2:21:09felt like they were letting people down and I'm really happy
- 2:21:12tail and kind of like told him like most of the fans would
- 2:21:15understand it still because even if even with fans, you know,
- 2:21:20there are going to be those few that are just like not their
- 2:21:24expectations being down but they are going to take it like the
- 2:21:26wrong way. So yeah.
- 2:21:28Hey, I think that's what made me more sad than the fact that they
- 2:21:32are taking a little bit of a break is that they were so
- 2:21:37afraid to tell people they were going to take a break.
- 2:21:40Like they just kept saying, I hope you understand, I hope you
- 2:21:42understand that like we're not complaining about having this
- 2:21:45great opportunity but we're just expressing the hardships that
- 2:21:48we've been going through and like they feel comfortable
- 2:21:51enough to share that with us and now they're getting some
- 2:21:54backlash on being able to share that with us.
- 2:21:57That's What makes me a little sad.
- 2:21:59Like of course I'm like I'm sad or whatever about like not being
- 2:22:04able to go to concerts and whatnot but like in not having
- 2:22:07the group as a whole but from what they have been saying and
- 2:22:11how I've taken it as this is not like they're still going to be
- 2:22:15content like they just want to do solo stuff and develop as
- 2:22:19individual artists in order to come back as a better group with
- 2:22:23fresh ideas and like a healthier aspect towards it.
- 2:22:27So like I think like Like, before I've seen a lot of people
- 2:22:29like, really upset. It's like obedience has done
- 2:22:32their over. What's, whatever.
- 2:22:35I didn't necessarily take it like that.
- 2:22:36And I don't think that that's what they were trying to
- 2:22:39express. And I think by all means they've
- 2:22:42been doing this for like 10 years.
- 2:22:44I would be tired. Yeah, like you can only produce
- 2:22:46so much. So like this is very minimal
- 2:22:50what they're asking for. Like I do not think that it
- 2:22:53should be taken like this that they just need to breathe for a
- 2:22:57minute. Right.
- 2:22:59It goes the one of the thing. How many were talking about
- 2:23:01boundaries earlier? That's one of the things where
- 2:23:04it's kind of like you need to know your boundaries because you
- 2:23:06don't know that you don't know them outside of the Artistry and
- 2:23:12like I said like I do feel like the relationship they have with
- 2:23:16their fans is different, but at the same time like people need
- 2:23:18to learn to respect that to still at the end of day.
- 2:23:21They're human like what I'm doing is talking about like they
- 2:23:24all another thing. I like them because I feel like
- 2:23:27you can't Tell they all really do care about each other.
- 2:23:30Like, yes, they were a group of like they didn't know each other
- 2:23:33at first and kind of just brought together over one thing.
- 2:23:36But like, you can see, they really did develop a
- 2:23:40relationship with each other, like throughout the whole thing.
- 2:23:44So, if they still want to be like bands, like now, like want
- 2:23:47to be like a Coldplay or like, I don't know other, I don't know.
- 2:23:51I'm not into that many bands, guys, I'm sorry.
- 2:23:53But if you just want the longevity, you do need to be
- 2:23:56able to explore your own. Visual ality as an artist and
- 2:24:00projects you want to do before coming back as a band.
- 2:24:03So right. And I think that, you know, if
- 2:24:06any group is going to break out of this like stereotypical Kpop
- 2:24:10industry, it's going to be them. Like I think that they can have
- 2:24:13a longevity but they need to break out of it first.
- 2:24:17So I think this is a good opportunity to do so is like
- 2:24:20develop as individual artists and then come back as a new
- 2:24:23group that is not sanctioned by the rules of the ACT.
- 2:24:28That they've been in even in the Kpop industry.
- 2:24:31Like y'all are seeing we pointed it out.
- 2:24:34Oh I pointed out one time there's like a new resurrection
- 2:24:37of like 2nd gen groups coming back together as the group.
- 2:24:41So even in the Kpop industry, you're seeing people that like
- 2:24:45didn't technically disband, but they went their separate ways
- 2:24:48and now they're coming back. Like, and even with the guy
- 2:24:51groups for like the men that are going off into military, it just
- 2:24:53really depends on the group and the company, if they want to
- 2:24:56continue while their members are going off, Off and doing
- 2:24:59Service, as a group of do individual stuff, like you see,
- 2:25:01Monsta X there on a tour. Right now.
- 2:25:03I'll show new is in the military's one.
- 2:25:06Another one is like super junior.
- 2:25:09I can point out shiny is just like EXO's doing it if you want
- 2:25:13to keep it in the Kpop world. But like you're saying they kind
- 2:25:17of the still in that and they're kind of not.
- 2:25:20So they kind of have a foot in the Kpop industry in the kind of
- 2:25:22foot and just like Western Not even just Western but just like
- 2:25:29one foot in one foot out, basically is what I'm saying.
- 2:25:32So like at the end of the day BTS is just BTS and they're, you
- 2:25:35know, kind of a unique situation and I think that they want just
- 2:25:41as much as we want / it to be a long journey, not a short one.
- 2:25:45So in order to do that, you got to live your life and take
- 2:25:49breaks. And like you said, like, live
- 2:25:52outside of this Persona that you've created for yourself
- 2:25:55because he Like doesn't know who he is anymore because, yeah, I'm
- 2:25:58doing this for the majority of his Materia nage.
- 2:26:01We also like, I don't, I can I get it, you know.
- 2:26:07Yeah, yunji brought up how it's even hard for him.
- 2:26:10Now to write lyrics basically on the same page is like non-jew
- 2:26:14because like any brought up an interesting point where he's
- 2:26:18like, he's kind of over doing stuff to satisfy other people,
- 2:26:23but also he said something that really struck me.
- 2:26:26Where he like at the beginning, he lacked the skills but had all
- 2:26:29these ideas. Now he has the skills and he has
- 2:26:32nothing to say. So that really says a lot.
- 2:26:36Yeah. I'm actually really, really
- 2:26:37looking forward to what their individual sounds will sound
- 2:26:42like I'm so excited. BTS has a certain sound or
- 2:26:46whatever you want to classify it as so I'm curious.
- 2:26:50Obviously we've seen it already in a little bit of their like
- 2:26:52solo songs like you. They definitely have their own
- 2:26:55personalities that shine. Through their solo songs.
- 2:26:57But when it's really totally up to them from like production and
- 2:27:01lyrics and whatnot like they have creative control completely
- 2:27:05over their stuff. I think it's going to be really
- 2:27:07interesting to see that and I'm looking forward to it, like,
- 2:27:10even you and you mentioned something about like if I had my
- 2:27:13own concert it would be boring. So like, but he's thinking about
- 2:27:17it which is so cool. Which I got a problem with that
- 2:27:20because he was like, if I just wrapped like, you know, there
- 2:27:23are actual rappers out there who just wrap, it will be fine.
- 2:27:26You're fine at rapping understand like and that's great
- 2:27:29that you want to do other stuff. But I don't think people would
- 2:27:31be upset but also I wanted to bring up that you mention it
- 2:27:34like with their solo activities. I hope they still don't get
- 2:27:37burnt out. Yes, no I wanted.
- 2:27:39It should be. I think the whole hopefully the
- 2:27:42the idea of this is they're taking a break for like health
- 2:27:45and resting and whatnot and also to self-discovery.
- 2:27:48So if they happen to produce some music through that
- 2:27:51self-discovery that's what would be healthy and good and what I'm
- 2:27:55looking forward to Because I know, Jin brought up a thing
- 2:27:57where he was talking about, like, he felt bad just like just
- 2:28:00taking a rest and laying down and then you can be sent him his
- 2:28:02schedule and he was like, but it's okay.
- 2:28:07You can get, you can also take a rest, even the slight, like,
- 2:28:13scheduled Nam. June was talking about.
- 2:28:15Like, like how you said may see. What do you have time to
- 2:28:17breathe? Yeah.
- 2:28:18Do you do eat like, what's going on?
- 2:28:20I don't think so, but I hope I had to do is like, huh?
- 2:28:26Mention the Highlight thing. And as much stuff as we made fun
- 2:28:30of black pink for being it, musical artists and how they
- 2:28:34don't make much music. I have that more with the
- 2:28:36company than themselves. They seems to be doing fine and
- 2:28:39enjoying what they're doing individually.
- 2:28:42So yeah, I don't think I just don't think it's necessary but
- 2:28:46turns into a thing like that. Yeah, to be like, oh, this is
- 2:28:49the end of the world, you know. Because like this is going to be
- 2:28:52really healthy thing for them. I think they're going to enjoy
- 2:28:54it. And I think that, That they love
- 2:28:57their group. So much that there's no way that
- 2:28:59they wouldn't come back unless they just like, you know, yeah,
- 2:29:05living their lives and things get beyond what they're
- 2:29:09expecting, but I think people are like morning this group
- 2:29:13that's like disappearing, which that's just not the case.
- 2:29:16So I won't go too wide to tweet something were like before this.
- 2:29:20It wasn't really a morning. I think I've expressed more of
- 2:29:22those exciting for their things than really being sad.
- 2:29:26I don't remember all I said, but initially before I, before I
- 2:29:30watched the dinner, I was just seeing what people were saying
- 2:29:34and I was like, oh crap. Like they just, are we done, is
- 2:29:37this it and that made me a little bit sad, but then once I
- 2:29:41washed it, I was like, okay, I'm fine.
- 2:29:43This is obviously they need this and we're still going to be
- 2:29:46seeing them. They're still going to be in my
- 2:29:49realm of like what I'm looking at and what not?
- 2:29:52And hopefully, when they come back, they'll feel refreshed and
- 2:29:55have a new story. Re and all that fun stuff.
- 2:29:58So exactly what them to enjoy what they're doing.
- 2:30:01Because like, I feel like he's it I think June said it a couple
- 2:30:05of times where it's like, I'm sorry for not meeting your
- 2:30:10expectations and I'm like dude, what expectations, because
- 2:30:13you've blown through like anything that I think anybody
- 2:30:17expected from them, why? I mean like I don't know what
- 2:30:21you're trying to prove but you you're good, you know you can
- 2:30:24take it easy because like I do I certainly don't expect anything
- 2:30:28more and like they've done such a great job with their fandom
- 2:30:32already. Like they're probably one of the
- 2:30:34most well-known musical acts ever.
- 2:30:38So like I don't know how you're letting anybody down.
- 2:30:42And it's sad to me to think that they think that they're letting
- 2:30:45people down. So especially Nam June as the
- 2:30:49leader and he said some other stuff too, like how when they
- 2:30:53were getting more famous like, especially with the English.
- 2:30:56It was hard for him because he really is the only one for now.
- 2:30:59That is the most fluent in English and he's like these
- 2:31:03interviews are hard because like I can't speak for the other
- 2:31:06members because I'm not in their mind and it's hard for
- 2:31:08translation to really like Express how they want to talk
- 2:31:12about something. So like he says, sometimes he
- 2:31:14felt bad because he felt like he was talking for them.
- 2:31:17And that's not really what he wanted to do, which makes sense,
- 2:31:22especially when you're trying to translate differently, but
- 2:31:24that's why I always enjoyed life.
- 2:31:26Now, watch interviews and he would get to speak as native
- 2:31:28language and they have like another translator or like they
- 2:31:31were translated himself because it gets them all a chance to
- 2:31:34express themselves. So and I just I just think it
- 2:31:38hits in the hardest like I said he is like the leader so and it
- 2:31:42charges a lot of stuff on stability on his shoulders that
- 2:31:46you know, for not even being the oldest gone a little too far.
- 2:31:49So I think it's really good that they're going to take a break
- 2:31:51from it. Despite what other people might
- 2:31:53be saying yes that about So, especially towards the end when
- 2:31:58he started crying. Oh my God, like any of them cry,
- 2:32:03especially the members that barely cry like him.
- 2:32:07Like and I think we're kind of like the same.
- 2:32:11We're like, we don't cry a lot. What if we do?
- 2:32:14It's kind of just like, oh my God, like this is serious, like
- 2:32:18the really tired. Like I remember, I don't know if
- 2:32:20I sit on the podcast, I think I said, I think I scared you.
- 2:32:23When we went to go see them in New York and we were waiting
- 2:32:26eating for our plane and we were just kind of sitting there, you
- 2:32:29saw me just crying. I mean, there was other stuff
- 2:32:34that was going on and I expressed it was mostly because
- 2:32:37the text my brother sent me, and it was just thinking of that
- 2:32:40whole week. We had like, I had so much fun,
- 2:32:42like I just got more emotional than I thought I would, but it's
- 2:32:45just like that. It's just like, you can tell
- 2:32:48like, Like, he's really tired. And I feel like I've said,
- 2:32:52pointed out stuff before I said it looked like they're tired,
- 2:32:54but like I can tell they're exhausted, I really needed to
- 2:32:57have this break and for everyone that's showing and sharing those
- 2:33:01memes and videos from crying please stop.
- 2:33:03Because it's not funny, it's really not funny.
- 2:33:07It's so heartbreaking because it would be different if he was
- 2:33:09just, you know, if they were just like as an example, if they
- 2:33:13were just leaving and he was just like getting emotional
- 2:33:17about this times, They had and what not, but he is breaking
- 2:33:20down crying because he's just so tired and he doesn't have
- 2:33:24anything more to give. And he doesn't want to say that
- 2:33:27he doesn't, which is so yes. I broke my heart more and I'm
- 2:33:31glad I waited to watch the video because if I watched it when it
- 2:33:33dropped, like everyone else, I would have been sobbing.
- 2:33:36I know, sorry, a texted me. She was sobbing, but it was like
- 2:33:39that just makes in. Like, sometimes I'm sitting
- 2:33:41here, I'm like, is it also my fault?
- 2:33:43Because like, I was saying earlier, High kept expressing.
- 2:33:46Like I don't know what's happening, but like they're
- 2:33:48going to go on. Or I can't wait and I'm like I'm
- 2:33:52not disappointed though. If you need a break, you need a
- 2:33:55break and that's why I think that admire them about like
- 2:33:58they're so yeah there's at the top right now.
- 2:34:01They're so high for them to be as high they are right now and
- 2:34:04saying like we need a break before we literally burn out and
- 2:34:08just like give up on this completely, I respect that a
- 2:34:10lot. Yeah, I think there's a
- 2:34:12difference between, you know, like of course you're excited
- 2:34:15about new concerts and new albums like that's Part of
- 2:34:19what's keeping them going is being excited about that stuff
- 2:34:22and like of course, you want to support it when it comes out,
- 2:34:25but what I think people are missing is that okay?
- 2:34:30We were excited. But now listening to what
- 2:34:32they've had to say. You should be able to understand
- 2:34:35where they're coming from. And like some people aren't
- 2:34:38understanding they're taking it as like, oh they hate us.
- 2:34:40They don't want to do this anymore.
- 2:34:42They're giving up whereas like, no, it's not what they're
- 2:34:45saying. Like you know, it wasn't all
- 2:34:46right saying, he's just tired. Once he doesn't want to just
- 2:34:50produce music to produce music, he wants to be good music and
- 2:34:53have a message and all that stuff.
- 2:34:55So you have to take a step back sometimes, like every artist has
- 2:34:59art block and like get tired. So like, do you want interests
- 2:35:04to be a machine? That produces stuff that doesn't
- 2:35:07mean anything or would you rather give him the break that
- 2:35:09he deserves and like, be happy doing it as listen, we can see
- 2:35:15the difference between when they were making stuff out of their
- 2:35:17own enjoyment. For their passion.
- 2:35:20And when they were making stuff, just to make stuff and yes, I
- 2:35:23will say dynamite and butter and permission to dance.
- 2:35:27I'll say it because you can tell the difference and I understand
- 2:35:30what he meant by like he was starting to lose his way.
- 2:35:33Like I will go up especially for Dynamite, especially the time
- 2:35:36that it was and I'm glad they did it to like, try to bring
- 2:35:39some type of joy for the fans. But like, that's where a lot of
- 2:35:43their criticism was coming from to.
- 2:35:45I don't know about Korean media because I don't follow Korean
- 2:35:47media. Like that.
- 2:35:49And I can't translate the articles that do come out.
- 2:35:51So I don't know. But I know especially like
- 2:35:53longer-term K-pop fans. You know, how they like, to pick
- 2:35:56at them like, oh, they're becoming to westernize.
- 2:35:58Which what does that even mean? Again because Kpop is derived
- 2:36:02from western music. So I don't understand what
- 2:36:05people accuse, a K-Pop group of becoming westernize.
- 2:36:09What are you talking about? It's all the same to me besides
- 2:36:14the way they train and put out music is different.
- 2:36:17But other than that I don't. See the difference?
- 2:36:19No, I think it's the same as well.
- 2:36:21I think more so than anything is that they don't need to force
- 2:36:24themselves to sing in English. That's what I would have the
- 2:36:28most problem with like it's not westernized, it's like as the
- 2:36:32music do it because you want to not because you're forced to,
- 2:36:34yeah, the pop music is westernized already, it's just
- 2:36:37slightly. What he was saying is like, I
- 2:36:40don't necessarily think that they should be singing an
- 2:36:42all-english because 90 percent of them don't speak English so
- 2:36:46they can't express themselves. How they?
- 2:36:48To in the lyrics. Are we talked about this in
- 2:36:50past, the lyrics are very much more basic, like they don't
- 2:36:53really have a meeting, it's just a fun song which those songs
- 2:36:57have their place, but to keep going and moving forward, they
- 2:37:01can't they're not an English group.
- 2:37:02That's not how it works. That's not their main language.
- 2:37:04That's not how they express themselves because like even
- 2:37:07with the Korean songs that I listen to and love like and I'm
- 2:37:10going to shout all the translators out there that
- 2:37:13you'll be doing the work and doing the word for years.
- 2:37:16Like seriously you don't understand, thank you.
- 2:37:18Like when I go on to like, either their Twitter accounts,
- 2:37:21or if they make their own websites, and they just
- 2:37:23explained like you guys don't understand, some of these lyrics
- 2:37:25are just so deep like within their culture and just like the
- 2:37:30things they've experienced and like that's kind of the same
- 2:37:33with English. Like even with English artist
- 2:37:35here like deep meaningful song, Sometimes you have to understand
- 2:37:40the language and then like if it's from a specific culture,
- 2:37:43understand the culture and just like so many thing that goes
- 2:37:46with it. I've always hated Argument like
- 2:37:49oh learn English because you're so big over here.
- 2:37:52No it is not their responsibility to learn English.
- 2:37:55If they do not want to it's your responsibility if you want to
- 2:37:57listen to their original music, you're going to have to put in
- 2:38:00the work to understand it. Even if you don't want to do,
- 2:38:04even if you don't want to learn Korean just do your research,
- 2:38:06you can find it. Like I said I just shout it out,
- 2:38:08a bunch of translators you can find plenty of translators that
- 2:38:12like, take their time out of the love for the artist that they
- 2:38:15enjoy to share it with the world.
- 2:38:18Or like he was articles and that's was breaking down.
- 2:38:21What every little thing in their songs and music videos means.
- 2:38:24So there's no reason to be ignorant.
- 2:38:26Yes, I'm still upset with like also American Media is taking
- 2:38:29them this long like because k-pops getting so big to like
- 2:38:33start translating on their own and actually hiring professional
- 2:38:36translators and I won't even say that for Kpop because they do
- 2:38:39that for anything. That is not English.
- 2:38:41So I love me some Bad Bunny. He's great but that's just an
- 2:38:46example like outside of K-pop Ray.
- 2:38:49Like I am a, I would consider myself a more casual is here
- 2:38:53because I don't go deep dive. I do on some, like, when I want
- 2:38:57to know something what something means, I'll do my research to
- 2:38:59figure it out, but you can also just enjoy music to enjoy music.
- 2:39:03You don't have to know every little thing.
- 2:39:05Yeah, that's something I started learning as I got older really
- 2:39:08like, and I think that's why I like dance music so much because
- 2:39:12there's a lot of dance music. I listened to that don't have
- 2:39:14lyrics, but you can just, you know, you feel it.
- 2:39:17So, Way. Overall, a very positive outlook
- 2:39:22on why they're doing this. And I think that the reason for
- 2:39:25doing it is a really good one, and I hope that they can truly
- 2:39:29enjoy the break and not have people harassing them all the
- 2:39:32time and like, them be worried about it because they know that
- 2:39:35they seem a little bit angry and agitated with how it's been
- 2:39:38received already. I hope it doesn't change
- 2:39:41anything and they take a good break and they don't regret it
- 2:39:44and like, they can actually enjoy it.
- 2:39:46So, yes, and I will also be another Bearer of bad news.
- 2:39:50I'll be the bad guy today for this episode, I feel like I
- 2:39:52already am. I'm sure this has to do with
- 2:39:55enlistment, to be honest. I'm Cheryl assessment has to do
- 2:39:59with a little bit of this and if what I was talking about with
- 2:40:02the on promotion is true, I don't know if maybe like gin and
- 2:40:06possibly young because they're not that far apart in age would
- 2:40:09have gone earlier, but I because I stopped seeing a lot of
- 2:40:14Articles, especially I know they changed like leadership of Like
- 2:40:18trying to get them exam, so I do know they're going to have to
- 2:40:21go. I don't know for how long I've
- 2:40:23said this on. So many things I don't like
- 2:40:25talking about their politics, because I'm not Korean.
- 2:40:28I don't live in South Korea. I'm not from South Korea, so I
- 2:40:32don't feel comfortable talking about stuff.
- 2:40:33I don't understand just for a musical group because there's so
- 2:40:36much more that goes on outside the music.
- 2:40:39But anyway, I do feel like that is part of the reason for them
- 2:40:43doing solo projects and they decided they wanted to wait
- 2:40:46until they're all seven again. And do solo projects and try to
- 2:40:51continue stuff as a group without like one or two members
- 2:40:56so appropriate, I think. Yeah, I have every right to do
- 2:40:59that and obviously this is a part of culture that we don't
- 2:41:02really understand but it's important to them and their
- 2:41:05country. So if they're wanting to go and
- 2:41:08do this, they have every right to be in.
- 2:41:10You should be understanding of it because it happens all the
- 2:41:12time with other groups. So why can't it has exactly
- 2:41:15this? It's not like this is
- 2:41:17uncomprehensible. I don't understand, it's not
- 2:41:20like they're doing anything different.
- 2:41:21And I think we've also said in the past that it just wouldn't
- 2:41:24be the same if one of them was missing.
- 2:41:26So I kind of like the approach that they're just gonna be
- 2:41:29soloist, until they're all back together because, yeah, it would
- 2:41:32just be odd if one of them was missing.
- 2:41:35So I'm like even Jim and said in the video, he's like, yes, he
- 2:41:39is. He's out of so long as he's a
- 2:41:41member of a group, but he also wants to like explore, you know,
- 2:41:44his interest likes and dislikes as artist himself and girls him.
- 2:41:48Off. And I can probably that growth
- 2:41:50can be put into when they come back together.
- 2:41:52So it's like I just see it as a good thing, I mean, I know like
- 2:41:58obviously when this came out and then that when I re-watch this,
- 2:42:02I don't know if you saw but I think they changed it because I
- 2:42:04didn't see the word Hiatus in there, like, at the beginning,
- 2:42:07but I wasn't paying attention. So I don't know if it's still in
- 2:42:10there or not. I blame One Direction because
- 2:42:12all the media was like, oh my God, they're breaking up.
- 2:42:16This Hiatus is expanding no more.
- 2:42:18It's yes. What's the next K-Pop group?
- 2:42:20That's gonna replace BTS? Like, shot the fuck up, please.
- 2:42:26Just wash this last night. So it would I get to actually
- 2:42:30and I saw the word Hiatus, and this band is what is still
- 2:42:34there. One point, but not in the
- 2:42:36beginning and it was I don't remember who is saying it, but
- 2:42:38it was like, it's it's or not this Banning it's or a Hiatus or
- 2:42:42whatever you want to call it. It's just a think that.
- 2:42:44So yeah, so I think they don't they referred It is a break
- 2:42:49everywhere else and he mentions those specific words at one
- 2:42:52point, but I don't think he's saying that they're taking one.
- 2:42:54I think he's saying, that's not really what it is, you know.
- 2:42:57Yeah, we're taking a break as a group, which is not as their own
- 2:43:02personal schedules basically. Yeah.
- 2:43:04And I also saw that like, not them but like the company had to
- 2:43:07come back and like clear up stuff because apparently, I know
- 2:43:09nothing about the stock market and that's why I kind of wish
- 2:43:12the feast was still here. But apparently hide stock went
- 2:43:15down like 20 percent well cheese.
- 2:43:18Which of the lot. And apparently I found this
- 2:43:21blooming Berg article on the attached at the bottom, because
- 2:43:24I really feel like it's a good article talking about, like a
- 2:43:27brief summary of their stocks without being too biased of like
- 2:43:29what's actually happening with BTS.
- 2:43:31But I got from that article how it said it went down. 28% wiping
- 2:43:36out one point, seven billion dollars in market value, which
- 2:43:39is the lowest on record since they went public as a company.
- 2:43:42So, yeah. And that's another thing.
- 2:43:45Like, I am proud of them for building Big hit up and like
- 2:43:51making sure they didn't go under but it also makes me angry how
- 2:43:55much they really depend on them. And I know the Bots other
- 2:43:59companies with like other groups and they have txt and now I'm
- 2:44:03hyphen but it's like with that like damn they still really
- 2:44:07depend on BTS. A lot and that's not a good
- 2:44:10thing business-wise. No, and it's not it's not be
- 2:44:14dies. His responsibilities the whole
- 2:44:16God me up. It's really nice.
- 2:44:18Not I don't feel like ever was to be honest, my opinion.
- 2:44:24It was important so they can continue doing what they are
- 2:44:26doing. But at the end of the day, I
- 2:44:29think, I mean at the end of the day, I don't think it's
- 2:44:32necessarily something to be worried about either because I
- 2:44:34think that we're experiencing a drop because of the shock that
- 2:44:38was happening. But eventually when they start,
- 2:44:42I know June had mentioned something about like the mix
- 2:44:46tapes are going to be made into actual album.
- 2:44:49So I'm sure that will combat some of that, you know, which
- 2:44:53that's so cool. I would love to.
- 2:44:55I am helping dedicated to each member.
- 2:44:58Another thing that made me think of a listen it because Jim kind
- 2:45:01of, I don't know if anyone picked it up, but he was kind of
- 2:45:03saying like, jokingly where he was like he just got like some
- 2:45:07songs in and he predicts, he might be the last one to
- 2:45:11actually release the album. So I was like because you're
- 2:45:15working on is Because Of Enlistment probably both.
- 2:45:18Probably both. So, because I know some of the
- 2:45:21other members have been working on, especially liked liked a and
- 2:45:26j-hope. They've been working on
- 2:45:28individual stuff for a long time, but they just haven't
- 2:45:30released yet because they're really picky especially,
- 2:45:33especially taeyong and Jungkook because we've heard the stories
- 2:45:36of them making stuff and deleting stuff, I think
- 2:45:38Jungkook, at one point actually really did have a whole mix tape
- 2:45:41and he deleted everything. So so I think like I don't know,
- 2:45:45Jin dozen or so I've been doing that.
- 2:45:47So if Just if he's just starting knot and I'm like if he doesn't
- 2:45:51want to, we don't have to. Yeah he's just starting.
- 2:45:54Now it makes sense for him to be last.
- 2:45:57Come on with if he has to go away for a bit.
- 2:46:00So yeah, I get it. I get it.
- 2:46:03So yeah, that's basically the whole dinner, I had more points,
- 2:46:06but I feel like me and Macey, really summed up our like,
- 2:46:09opinions the best without me having to do an all the Bill
- 2:46:13Bolton points. So I'm glad, oh yeah, any
- 2:46:17thoughts before I get Into the projects that have been
- 2:46:21announced so far. I could go first.
- 2:46:24I mean, I feel like I share what I wanted to share is like, they
- 2:46:28keep saying it's basically just a new beginning.
- 2:46:32Again, Macy, all. Thank you for introducing me to
- 2:46:35BTS because like I knew about them on my own and 2017.
- 2:46:39I feel like I mentioned before when they first start breaking
- 2:46:43out with DNA, but like I just had no desire of really like
- 2:46:46looking up them myself. Glad I did and like not to see
- 2:46:51this in a bad way because this isn't the first time if people
- 2:46:55don't know that they express their tired, I mean tear was
- 2:46:58actually almost their disbandment album.
- 2:47:01If no one remembers that. So this is basically like,
- 2:47:05probably second hell. This might even be like the
- 2:47:07tenth time of like stuff. We didn't even see and we only
- 2:47:10know about that because when they want an award, that Jin did
- 2:47:12say that where they all start breaking down the end of 2018 or
- 2:47:162019, I think it's 2018. Yeah.
- 2:47:18I was 2018 because it was before Persona came out, but still so
- 2:47:23like if they did at that time I wouldn't have discovered them
- 2:47:25because I really became a fan during idle.
- 2:47:29So that was really the first time.
- 2:47:30I feel like they really push themselves to keep going and
- 2:47:36it's like, I just feel like at this point, like we just keep
- 2:47:39saying they've already proved themselves and enough, it's fine
- 2:47:42for them to take a break. I honestly would have been fine,
- 2:47:46even if they're like, we're taking a break.
- 2:47:48And they're not doing anything because they deserve that too.
- 2:47:51You deserve some rest, they deserve sleep to start like
- 2:47:54eating properly and I have to worry about like their image or
- 2:47:57like the crazy diet culture and just like all those other mess
- 2:48:01of some members just want to chill and honestly not do
- 2:48:05anything. That's fine with me.
- 2:48:07If they want to continue doing things which I know they're
- 2:48:10going to whether it's like music or if they want to do stuff
- 2:48:13outside. Like if tan finally wants to
- 2:48:15start acting again, if Jen wants to start acting that is Fine
- 2:48:18with me too. I feel like I'm at this point
- 2:48:20where like I will be there and like I expressed earlier I don't
- 2:48:23regret like being their fan. So like it's been fun even
- 2:48:27though I haven't been with them since the beginning, I still
- 2:48:30feel like I grew up with them because like, I got in my early
- 2:48:3220s, I'm in my mid 20s now. So like I got to spend my early
- 2:48:3720s with them and like I just had fought a lot of my great
- 2:48:41memories especially with like you and like other friends.
- 2:48:44We met are just like full of so much joy and I'm glad BTS were a
- 2:48:48Is that and also thanks to BTS. Like I feel like it helped me
- 2:48:52break the ice more because I am and to verted, like, I never
- 2:48:55would have met in the fisa Brianna.
- 2:48:57I would have known the feast. I don't feel like we would have
- 2:48:58gotten this close because it was are like manager.
- 2:49:01We worked at the library who break the ice for us when
- 2:49:03they're like so did you know, Simone isn't to BTS and me and
- 2:49:06the feast look at each other like oh you like BTS and not to
- 2:49:09start at something. When she saw Brianna at the
- 2:49:12Korean Festival, we went to which I never would have went to
- 2:49:14if it wasn't for BTS and I met her and we started talking about
- 2:49:18she's Like, oh, you like BTS to. And that's the same with Sam at
- 2:49:21like we were learning the Korean language and just like other
- 2:49:25stuff. I never would have thought, like
- 2:49:27you heard us talk about like we watch on like in the middle of
- 2:49:30the night and stuff. I've done so much I feel like I
- 2:49:33never would have done on my own or for anyone else.
- 2:49:36So like it was tiring but it's just fun stuff.
- 2:49:39I can look back on. So obviously at the end of my
- 2:49:43rant I'm just like happy. I could share happy moments with
- 2:49:45them. Just want to thank them for That
- 2:49:49and then like I was going to say, I wish them happiness, but
- 2:49:53like it made me think back on our one year anniversary.
- 2:49:56I hope they're able to find contentment in their life
- 2:50:00because I feel like that's more powerful than happiness because
- 2:50:03some 10 min last longer. So that's all I really want to
- 2:50:06say. I think to add to that is like,
- 2:50:09I am happy with all of the memories.
- 2:50:12I've made thus far, even if I don't get to make any more.
- 2:50:16But I'm like, obviously, I I think we're hopeful and they're
- 2:50:19saying that they're going to continue so but I am already
- 2:50:24more than more than grateful for what I've already received that.
- 2:50:28Like I think it's just nice to take a sit back and let them
- 2:50:32also, you know, this reminisce and row and take a breather.
- 2:50:39So I'm like, like we say, we listen to other group but I know
- 2:50:42they're not going to hit like BTS does for us, but still So, I
- 2:50:48just excited for them. I'm happy for them.
- 2:50:50To be honest. Like I'm more happy honestly
- 2:50:54than anything else. Yeah.
- 2:50:56Yeah. I don't I don't feel any of
- 2:50:58those feelings of like, resentment, or sadness or
- 2:51:01anything like that. I think it's overall, 100% a
- 2:51:04positive thing. So, I just hope that the rest of
- 2:51:07their fandom can see that. Yeah.
- 2:51:10For people, we don't know the lives like halfway around the
- 2:51:12world. Yeah.
- 2:51:14But that's the joy and beauty of it.
- 2:51:16Just never thought it would happen.
- 2:51:17Such a unique and special connection.
- 2:51:20Yeah.
