- 0:01Welcome to Rick and That Michelle Chick, the weekly
- 0:05podcast where your hosts, Rick and Michelle, confidently dive
- 0:10into topics they know absolutely nothing about and somehow make
- 0:15it sound legit. They're not experts.
- 0:17They're not qualified. Honestly, they barely googled
- 0:20it. So grab a drink, lower your
- 0:23expectations, and let's pretend this counts as content.
- 0:28So buckle up. Facts are optional, but the
- 0:31bullshit? That's premium grade.
- 0:34This is Rick and that Michelle chick.
- 0:41OK, well obviously I wanted to touch on some of the celebrity
- 0:45deaths that have occurred. Walker, Texas Ranger.
- 0:49Chuck Norris. Chuck Norris.
- 0:51Which I think that is like the only theme song I can remember.
- 0:56Like the eyes of the Ranger are upon you.
- 0:58Any wrong you do, he's going to see when you're in Texas, look
- 1:01behind you because that's where the Ranger is going to be.
- 1:03Like I, I can remember that like like, like rattle it off just
- 1:07like that, but I don't remember shit from like high school or
- 1:10anything else so but you know. And he and Chuck Norris sings
- 1:14the song actually, too. He does.
- 1:16He does like the ending where it's like all dramatic.
- 1:19Yeah. So anyway.
- 1:21What do you? What do you?
- 1:22So I got a question for you because, you know, again, I'm a
- 1:24huge Chuck Norris fan, loved walking Texas Ranger, loved all
- 1:27the other stuff that he was in. Now a lot of people say no.
- 1:31So the fun thing about being on the radio when he sadly passed
- 1:34away was we and read some of the comments, you know, and so the
- 1:38comments were great. Like they were just like there
- 1:40was nothing but adulation, you know, but it was hilarious.
- 1:44Like, I mean, different things, like Chuck Norris is now death.
- 1:47I mean, there's all these funny, humorous, you know, you know,
- 1:50things about because the legacy of Chuck Norris and all that.
- 1:53So it was really it was great. And then there was there one
- 1:56little contention of can people go, I guess here's the question.
- 2:00Can people separate the celebrity from the actual
- 2:04person? Because a lot of people said
- 2:06that he was misogynistic, that he was, he was MAGA.
- 2:10He's all these different things now for me.
- 2:13Just so you know, the guy's 82 years old, or how old was he?
- 2:1686, I'm sorry, 80? 6 I knew he was in his 80s.
- 2:19Yeah, it's kind of, it's kind of like it's kind of like John
- 2:22Wayne. It's like like John Wayne, I
- 2:25hear was not was from a from a empathetic or I mean, John Wayne
- 2:30is a man's man basically, right. So you kind of expect that.
- 2:34I expect that from Steven Seagal.
- 2:36I expect that from John Wayne that that.
- 2:41Sylvester Stallone. Sylvester Stallone.
- 2:43Exactly. I expect them to be misogynistic
- 2:46to some extent, right? Isn't that part of the test,
- 2:49testosterone and all that? I mean, it's kind of the
- 2:51swagger. It's the swagger of that who
- 2:53that person is, right? So when I look at somebody who's
- 2:5686 years old, it's like, yeah, why would I expect them to #1
- 3:00politically aligned with me. I don't expect that in any
- 3:02situation, but but yeah, do you separate the celebrity from from
- 3:09the person? I guess you know, and I'm
- 3:12curious what you think about that.
- 3:13Yeah, which we've kind of touched on this before and
- 3:16growing up watching Walker Texas Ranger with my grandparents
- 3:21every Friday night or whatever night it was on, like, that's a
- 3:25good memory for me, regardless of Chuck Norris, the man
- 3:29himself. And that and we didn't discover
- 3:32that until later that he was like MAGA.
- 3:34And that still doesn't mean like that I, I don't like the show
- 3:39Walker Texas Ranger. And it's a happy place for me to
- 3:43watch the episodes. And I feel like, like you said,
- 3:46like John Wayne, Chuck Norris, they're they're all older and
- 3:51they're from like an older time period where being that way was
- 3:56OK. I'm not saying it's OK to be
- 3:58that way. I'm just saying that that was
- 4:01the norm. But that's how it was so.
- 4:04Yeah, it's kind of like, it's kind of like a lot of people
- 4:06don't realize the $6 million man, Lee Majors, $6 million man
- 4:10was married to Farrah Fawcett and and Farrah.
- 4:13And the reason why she ended up quitting CC's Angels in the
- 4:17first season was because Lee Majors is like, no, you're my
- 4:20wife. I expect a meal home when I
- 4:22expect, I expect my meal at 5:00 in the afternoon.
- 4:25I don't care that you're a celebrity.
- 4:26I'm A Celebrity. I make enough for both of us.
- 4:29There's no reason basically for you because that was just the,
- 4:32the, you know, like you said, the generation it came from.
- 4:35Same with I've heard stories about Steve McQueen, very famous
- 4:38Bullet, you know, the Bullet guy, incredible, amazing action
- 4:42star, all these different things.
- 4:44But if you wanted somebody that was homophobic or that refused
- 4:48to be sitting next to a black person or any of that, it was
- 4:52going to be Steve that, you know, that he was, he was going
- 4:55to be he was he was not. I mean he for his ex wives and
- 4:59all say he was just misogynistic as you know, like like he's the
- 5:03man, right. And there's an expectation.
- 5:05So again, in terms of, you know, separating the celebrity from
- 5:09who the the person really is. And like you said, they do come
- 5:11from a different generation. I don't, I don't knock, you
- 5:14know, I don't expect people to to we, we number one, we're all
- 5:19different in our own way. That's what I was going to say.
- 5:22We all progress or however we want to be in life.
- 5:27We're all different. And you have to decide yourself
- 5:30like, OK, am I still going to like this actor or like this
- 5:34person because of whether they're MAGA or whether I know
- 5:38that they treat women the way they do or don't like LGBTQ?
- 5:42Like, I feel like that's your own personal decision that you
- 5:46have to make. And then you either watch them,
- 5:48you don't watch them, you support them, or you don't
- 5:49support them, right? Well, you so I, I we do have,
- 5:53but I feel. Like that's where like cancel
- 5:55culture has really like, accelerated.
- 5:58Like you can't like this person because they did XYZ.
- 6:02And I don't feel like it's not black or white like that.
- 6:06Well, and, and, and from a Chuck Norris standpoint, I don't know
- 6:09of any domestic violence or any, any of like, you know, his, I
- 6:15mean, his political views are, are one thing, but there's no,
- 6:18nothing on record where he abused his wife or any, you
- 6:21know, any of any bad behavior from that, from that standpoint.
- 6:24And then it, it made me think about it for a second because
- 6:27both you and I have a mutual friend and I cannot recall her
- 6:32name off the top of my head, but it's fate.
- 6:33Remember Faith? Faith used to come in the girl,
- 6:36she was 12 years old, and she would talk about the pumpkins
- 6:38and Super Sam. Wilkinson's.
- 6:42Yeah, but but it was their friend and the daughter.
- 6:45Faith came in and. Talked about, are you?
- 6:47You're talking about Linda? Well, she was a stunt woman on
- 6:50Walker, Texas Ranger. Yes, Have you right.
- 6:54So I saw so I saw on her Instagram where she did a
- 6:57tribute like hey to a very kind, generous, great guy.
- 7:01And so, so Linda worked like, worked with Chuck Norris, like,
- 7:06thanks. Legit, she, she was on set.
- 7:08She was a stunt woman for a Walker, Texas Ranger.
- 7:11And she says nothing but nice things about the guy.
- 7:14So, and we know, I mean, and we know Linda's a great person.
- 7:17So to me, I'm like, OK, you know, by association, I'm going
- 7:20to make the assumption that he's probably a pretty good guy.
- 7:22You know, now we may not politically align and all that,
- 7:25but in terms of and not every, you know, again, just because
- 7:27you politically just don't align doesn't mean the guy's a jerk.
- 7:31Like when you, you know, right. I mean, that's.
- 7:33You know, yeah, It doesn't mean he's complete.
- 7:35He's a complete ass that. Right.
- 7:37And so I saw Linda. Thank you.
- 7:38When I saw Linda's posting about it, I immediately thought, God,
- 7:41I should get Linda on the on the phone and have her come on the
- 7:44radio and talk about Chuck Norris because that would have
- 7:46been kind of cool. I just like her.
- 7:48Yeah, I liked her little. I did like her little tribute.
- 7:50So for me, I'm same as you, grew up on Chuck Norris.
- 7:53I'm a fan. Mine goes all the way back to
- 7:55Enter the Dragon with Bruce Lee. He was the bad guy.
- 7:58I. Was 2.
- 7:59I don't even know if I was born. Well, I was 3, but but anybody,
- 8:04anybody who enjoys a good Bruce Lee with the overdubs, I always
- 8:07love it when the mouths don't match.
- 8:09Yeah, yeah. With a good with a good Bruce
- 8:12Lee movie where they talk and it doesn't match up and you see
- 8:17that It's so funny. Jackie Chan movies, Michelle Yo.
- 8:21So Michelle Yo, who was a very celebrated actress right now, I
- 8:26didn't realize she was in all those really cheesy karate.
- 8:30She was, but young, like in her early 20s.
- 8:34And so it's like, I'm watching this thing on YouTube and it
- 8:36goes Michelle Yo and Christine Roderick in To Live or Die.
- 8:41And I'm like, what? That?
- 8:42And then they show her and she's doing these karate moves and she
- 8:45was like, she was a she was a nemesis of Jackie Chan in one of
- 8:48the movies. I'm like, what?
- 8:50And and and of course the mouths don't match.
- 8:52It's but it's still her voice. I'm like, oh, I reckon her voice
- 8:55is so you recognize it. And so it's kind of funny to see
- 8:58her in all these, you know, Asian movies long before she
- 9:00became famous in America and she was a karate person.
- 9:04And so you're seeing her, you know, it just it was just kind
- 9:07of a little bit of mind mind boggling blown there for us.
- 9:10So so for me, I'm same as you Walker, Texas Ranger, but I
- 9:13liked other Chuck Norris things too.
- 9:14I. Am an honorary stunt woman.
- 9:17Speaking of Linda, remember when I got hit by that car in the
- 9:20crosswalk? Yes, she.
- 9:23Got me a mug and a shirt that is legit from like the stunt
- 9:28association because they were making fun of me because now I
- 9:33do my own stunts. Kind of, yeah, absolutely hit by
- 9:35again. And I still have the mug and.
- 9:38Tuck and roll, tuck and roll. Yeah, well, again, Chuck Norris,
- 9:42huge loss and I'm a huge fan. But again, for me, when you look
- 9:48at the comments, you can tell it's a it's a life well lived.
- 9:53When you look at all the comments are nothing but the the
- 9:57crazy Chuck Norris antidotes. Yeah, yeah.
- 10:00Which somebody I saw had a Roomba that said they named it
- 10:05Suck Norris. And they were like, oh, we have
- 10:08to. The name has to die now we have
- 10:10to, we have to figure out a new name for A room.
- 10:12Yeah, but yeah, But for me, though, I think that's probably
- 10:15the big one. And then I noticed that you were
- 10:17talking earlier and I pulled it up.
- 10:19So we've got Nicholas Brandon. He was in Buffy the Vampire
- 10:23Slayer. So he sadly passed away.
- 10:26If you're a Buffy. Fan somebody from Superman.
- 10:29Yeah, Valerie Perrine. Well, she was, she was Miss
- 10:33Teschmacher and she was 82. So almost the almost all of the
- 10:37original cast, I think except for Jimmy Olsen of the Superman
- 10:40movie has now passed away. That's Christopher Reeve you had
- 10:44and Margot Kidder, you had a bunch of them that I think
- 10:47they've all passed except for maybe Sarah Douglas is one of
- 10:50the villains. She's still around.
- 10:51But there's, you know, Gene Hackman's gone, Marlon Brando's
- 10:54gone. So.
- 10:55So this is, yeah, the last of the the Superman cast.
- 10:58I think there's only a couple left out of that cast.
- 11:00So and then also Robert Mueller passed away.
- 11:04So, and we won't spend a lot of time on that.
- 11:08I think it's absolutely hypocritical.
- 11:10Yes, that's what I wanted to say.
- 11:12As well, yes, it is ridiculous that that when Charlie Kirk
- 11:16passed away, you demanded you demanded yes that nobody that
- 11:21that there was respect and then on the flip side, oh, he's dead
- 11:24good. Yes.
- 11:25I mean, so to me, I have serious issues with that.
- 11:28And, and, and, and I will say it again, and we don't spend a lot
- 11:31of time on it. I don't give a crap if you're
- 11:33Republican or Democrat. I expect better of my president
- 11:37period, period. And that, and that is right
- 11:40there, is why I will never vote for that guy ever, in a million
- 11:42years. Because if you can't give at
- 11:44least an ounce of respect for anything.
- 11:46He Robert was a Purple Heart recipient He served his country
- 11:51for. Somebody, somebody did this.
- 11:54Great. Did you see the meme with
- 11:55Mueller? And he's of course all all combo
- 11:59combatted out. And then they've got and then
- 12:01they've got Trump with a bowling trophy.
- 12:03So it's a great. Yeah.
- 12:05Go search that. Now.
- 12:06That's hilarious. Yeah.
- 12:08At the same age, At the same age, one guy's going to Vietnam
- 12:10and one guy's got a bowling trophy.
- 12:12Well, yeah, because he got out of it because of his bone spurs.
- 12:15So. I, I, for me, it just comes down
- 12:18and then and then the whole, well, they said it, so we're I,
- 12:21I've always hated that double stand.
- 12:23Does that stop though? Like when do, when do you say as
- 12:26an adult, like, okay, we're not getting anywhere by this back
- 12:30and forth, right? When does that stop?
- 12:34Exactly. Well, Biden said this and Biden
- 12:36did that. Like really?
- 12:37Okay, All right, Well, Biden, I always like to tell people that.
- 12:42I never celebrated somebody'd death, regardless of whether he
- 12:46disagreed with them or not. So here's the crazy thing that I
- 12:49learned a long time ago by running radio stations and
- 12:52programming radio stations is I would I would take over a radio
- 12:56station. And you, Michelle, have been in
- 12:58radio a long time like me. It's funny is 6 months later to
- 13:01a year, the problems aren't fixed.
- 13:04And the person that's in charge keeps saying, well, it was the
- 13:07guy before me, it was the guy before me.
- 13:08The reason why it's broken is the guy before me, the guy
- 13:10before me, the guy before me. And I worked at a station one
- 13:13time where I think it was the owner or the consultant.
- 13:16Somebody said, OK, this has got to stop.
- 13:19Here's the deal after after 90 days, it's your radio station,
- 13:25so if something's broken. Sense, right?
- 13:27No. If something's broken, so that's
- 13:29on you. Yeah, you better get.
- 13:30It so So you get you get 90 days.
- 13:32You get 90 days. I don't care if you're a
- 13:34congressman. I don't care if you're a
- 13:35representative. I don't care if you're the
- 13:36mayor. You get 90 days to say yeah,
- 13:38that that was Mayor Cephas back there.
- 13:41But after 90 days, after 90 days, now it's Mayor Michelle.
- 13:44Sorry. Great.
- 13:45Great. And you better fix and you
- 13:47better fix it. So, yeah, I just think it's
- 13:49despicable. So I'll let you chime in on it.
- 13:51What do you think? And basically, that's that's
- 13:53what I was going to say. Just the hypocrisy.
- 13:56Yeah. You can't, don't you dare say
- 13:58anything bad about Charlie Kirk. But yet here we had this
- 14:02distinguished man who again, Purple Heart recipient,
- 14:07basically his entire life was dedicated to service in some
- 14:10kind, some type of government form, whether that was a
- 14:13prosecutor, FBII think he was the longest running FBI, the guy
- 14:19in charge of the FBI. Sorry, it's like evading my
- 14:22brain at this point. Director of the FBI.
- 14:25Yes, thank you. Edgar, J Get riled.
- 14:28Up and I just say facts go out anyway.
- 14:31But yes, so that's what I wanted to say.
- 14:35We say that in the intro too, so.
- 14:36Hypocrisy. You're coming here from you're
- 14:40coming here for facts, man you we're barely if we can even say
- 14:45the name right. We got, hey, we're doing.
- 14:46Exactly. We're doing OK like I.
- 14:49Said I have to write down like if I have to quote somebody so
- 14:52that I don't mess it up, this is.
- 14:54Why? This is why we need a producer.
- 14:56But, but it's what but it. They wouldn't have it like all
- 14:59written out for me, so I just said it.
- 15:02And not to be disrespectful, but, but this opens the
- 15:04floodgates because when Donald Trump passes away, you don't
- 15:08think the, the world and the Internet is going to and, and,
- 15:13and, and MAGA is going to be. We demand respect.
- 15:16We demand you, you know, and, and I have no problem.
- 15:21I mean, people said all people that said, well, I'll walk up to
- 15:23his grave and piss on it. And I'm like, yeah, because I,
- 15:26because I believe it. I do believe you get as you,
- 15:30you, you get as good as you give.
- 15:31And so so because you refuse to respect anybody that disagrees
- 15:37with you, then you're going to get it when you pass away that
- 15:41that you are going to get exactly what you did to people
- 15:44when while you were alive. Definitely.
- 15:46And that's not a good legacy. No.
- 15:48It's not a good why would why would you want your legacy to be
- 15:51that you were just a bastard or you're just a bully?
- 15:53You know, what am I? I don't know if I should tell
- 15:56the story, but I'm going to tell it anyway.
- 15:59I don't know. Have I told this story before?
- 16:01I don't know. Let's hear.
- 16:02It so many years ago, probably 20-30 plus years ago when I was
- 16:07in high school there. I won't say names because they,
- 16:09some people might know whom we're talking.
- 16:11I don't want, I don't want to disrespect the person's name,
- 16:13but I will tell you a story about karma.
- 16:15So when we were in high school, this guy and we called it the
- 16:18senior ramp. So in our high school, we had a
- 16:21ramp and if you were a senior, you got to sit on the ramp.
- 16:24And if you were an underclassman, you had to stay
- 16:26right in the middle because the seniors would trip you basically
- 16:30as you're trying to get to class, right.
- 16:31Of course. So it was a different, it would,
- 16:34I'm not. So anyway, this guy would set up
- 16:37on senior ramp and he would just trip.
- 16:39I mean, he was, he was an utter bully, like the meanest of the
- 16:44bullies. And there was one kid, and I
- 16:46will say his name, his name was Greg Romero.
- 16:48And he was in the Nerd Crew or the the Geek Squad.
- 16:51And one day Greg's just walking down the ramp and this guy
- 16:55literally point blank punches him directly in the face, like
- 17:00just for no reason. And Greg, God bless him, didn't
- 17:05flinch, did not flinch. He took the hit face like like
- 17:09full full face and he looked at that bully and says you ever
- 17:13fucking touch me again, I'll kill you.
- 17:15Oh, and I think the bully, I think the bully believed it
- 17:18because he didn't even flinch when he got hit.
- 17:19Like the guy took it last punch, didn't flinch, didn't flinch and
- 17:23said it. Didn't get the effect that the
- 17:25bully wanted, or most of us would have flinched or would
- 17:28have. Oh, I responded down to the
- 17:30count. Yeah.
- 17:31Average person would be down to the count.
- 17:32Yeah, so interesting. I'm at a 4th of July, I'm at a
- 17:354th of July. A picnic.
- 17:36Years later, probably 10 years later, maybe eight years later,
- 17:39we're adults now. We're adults.
- 17:40And one of my, the classmates comes up to me and goes, oh, did
- 17:43you hear the story about Blank? And I said, no, I hadn't heard
- 17:45the story. And they go, oh, my God.
- 17:47He was out riding his bike, and he wrapped himself around a
- 17:50telephone pole. And now he's paralyzed from head
- 17:52to toe. No, the bully.
- 17:54The bully and I looked at that person.
- 17:56Now this is back when I was 28 years old or 27 years old.
- 17:59And I said, I said and I said, well, good for karma.
- 18:04And my classmate looked at me and goes how she freaked out.
- 18:07She's like, how dare you know? How dare you?
- 18:10How dare you have no sympathy or no, no, no, I don't know.
- 18:15Empathy or. Empathy for it.
- 18:17And I looked at her and I said that's and I said that's son of
- 18:20a bitch was the meanest, cruelest bully to kids to kids
- 18:26and so. She probably didn't see it or
- 18:28did feel it, so she personally wasn't affected like she was
- 18:31some of the rest of you. She was not personally affected
- 18:34by it. So, so interesting enough.
- 18:37It's like she could not believe that I, how, how dare I?
- 18:40And I said, well, he was, he was if, if there was, if there was
- 18:43bullies in my world, he's on the top ten list of all time
- 18:46bullies. And so karma, karma got him.
- 18:49Karma got him and so it's interesting, I went back for the
- 18:5230 year reunion and he, the guys, he's still paralyzed from
- 18:56the neck down. He's in our class.
- 18:58It's not, I'm not trying to be a jerk about it.
- 19:00And, and people had mentioned, oh, you know, he really wanted
- 19:03to come, but he didn't want people to see him the way he
- 19:07was. And, you know, now this has been
- 19:0940 years ago. So it's like, I'm like, I wasn't
- 19:12the one. I wasn't the one.
- 19:13I wasn't the guy who got hit in the face.
- 19:15Right. So but but but he was a bully.
- 19:18It's one of those things where if karma will get you, you.
- 19:22Yeah, we've talked about this a lot of the show.
- 19:24I'm a I'm a big karma person. Karma is going to get you.
- 19:26And, and so when we look at, let's say the president, you,
- 19:31you can talk all the shit you want and you can think you're,
- 19:34you're bravado and you think that you're, you, your, your
- 19:36people lick that, that stuff up. Well, 80% of America doesn't,
- 19:40no. And when you die and when you
- 19:42pass away, there is going to be people are going to disrespect
- 19:46him as he disrespected everybody else.
- 19:48Yes. And it's, and it's one of the
- 19:50things that I just kept off my Facebook.
- 19:51I don't get into it anymore on my on my Insta, my Facebook, any
- 19:54of that crap. I think it's despicable
- 19:56behavior. I will.
- 19:57I will never. I don't care if I don't care if
- 20:00they pass the Save America Act. I'm an American and I am never
- 20:04voting for people like that ever.
- 20:05I don't care. There's there's no bravado,
- 20:08there's no amount of bullying because you and I, well, you and
- 20:11I grew up. We lived.
- 20:12We lived in an age of bullies. Right, we were bullying.
- 20:15Yeah, we were bullied. We were bullied and, and for me,
- 20:18it's unacceptable behavior, especially from the highest seat
- 20:20in the land, right? It just is, period.
- 20:23And it makes me go. What is that teaching our kids
- 20:25when the president is bullying or making fun of people or like
- 20:30the dyslexia comment about Gavin Newsom, like a lot of people
- 20:35have learning disabilities all over the country.
- 20:37Like what is that teaching our children?
- 20:39But the highest, the commander in chief, is allowed to do this.
- 20:44Do you think when it's all said and done and he's finally gone,
- 20:48because they've already proven in an election after election
- 20:54and this, and I will give Trump credit for one thing and one
- 20:57thing only. When his name is not on the
- 20:59ballot, they lose. Yes.
- 21:02So give Trump is due that the MAGA movement is that strong
- 21:05that yes, if if if you know, if his name's on the ballot, give
- 21:10him credit. I don't agree.
- 21:11And also he's never beaten a man.
- 21:12Just put it out there too. Just put it.
- 21:15I mean. I know.
- 21:16Put it into real, put it into real perspective, right?
- 21:19Not just not yet. You know, you can beat a woman.
- 21:21Oh, and not to be sexist. That's not to be sexist.
- 21:23I'm just saying I. Feel like our country is.
- 21:25And that's exactly why he has won, because they would not vote
- 21:29for a woman the first time and they would not vote for a black
- 21:33woman the second time, right? That is the main reason that he
- 21:36won both times. Yeah, I don't think.
- 21:39I mean for me, I voted for those folks, but for me this country
- 21:42is not willing to ready for which is strange other.
- 21:47Countries, but other countries are so more advanced than.
- 21:50They are, they are. And they've and they've had
- 21:52women leaders forever. Germany, England, I mean the
- 21:55list goes on and on. So yeah.
- 21:57So, so to me, at the end of the day, you're going to get, you
- 22:00know, when you, when you say crap like that, you're going to
- 22:02get as good as you get. And I'm not, I'm trust me when
- 22:05people are going to, when, when this sadly happens someday, I'm
- 22:08not, I'm not going to stop people.
- 22:10I'm going to go be going down my Facebook like, like, like, like
- 22:13like like like like, like, like, like, like, like like, like.
- 22:17Heart, heart, heart. Yes, heart, heart, heart, heart,
- 22:20heart, because you reap what you reap what you sow you reap, you
- 22:24reap what you sow And so if you can't be respectful as the head
- 22:29of a country, then can I feel like, I mean, I there are, there
- 22:33are multiple days where I'm like, can a meteor just end us
- 22:36all? There are so many days I think
- 22:39about and I and I don't think I'd feel sorry, right.
- 22:41Do you ever feel like that ever? Do you ever feel like, man, if
- 22:44this a can a meteor just come and just freaking destroy, you
- 22:47know? Well, I mean, we talked about
- 22:49Designated Survivor before the State of the Union, and I was
- 22:52like, please, no, just kidding. Yeah, you're like, you know,
- 22:57yeah. So now for me, I don't want that
- 22:59to happen because we got the polar bears, we got wolves.
- 23:02I mean, we got animals I don't want.
- 23:03I like I like animals better than like humans.
- 23:05So you want all the animals to survive and not humans?
- 23:08Yeah, I could care less. I really could care less if the
- 23:10human race survives. I mean, we are the ones killing
- 23:13our planet and and everything for the animals and the animals.
- 23:17We are killing all the animals. So, yeah, yeah.
- 23:20Yeah, so. We deserve it.
- 23:22OK, well let's move on. Update on my car.
- 23:24I did want to touch on this. So last week's podcast we talked
- 23:28about my car and how I was going to have to take it back to the
- 23:31shop after we got done recording our.
- 23:33Podcast. Yes after it had already been in
- 23:36the shop and supposedly got fixed.
- 23:38Took it back after the podcast and they call me and they tell
- 23:43me what's wrong which they had to replace of a valve again.
- 23:48The all I hear is wah wah wah wah when he calls and talks yes.
- 23:52So I know nothing about cars other than oil and gas.
- 23:55And yeah, so he calls me and he tells me the one of the valve
- 24:00that they had replaced from before when it was in, sometimes
- 24:05it can trip that sensor and then it makes a valve is a baffle
- 24:09valve. Is that right?
- 24:11I think I don't know. Anyway, it will make it shut
- 24:16close so it won't come back open.
- 24:18And this is sometimes happens and he's like, the part won't be
- 24:22in until Friday, but we'll cover the cost of everything, yeah.
- 24:27As they should, but. Yes, which I thought that was
- 24:30very stand up ish about. Yeah, I mean what most I'm not
- 24:35well not necessarily most garages, but some garages would
- 24:39have been like, oh, this is a new issue or this isn't related,
- 24:42you know, because I wouldn't have known.
- 24:44We wouldn't have known unless they would have said something.
- 24:49And he said like this is this is a costly lesson for the new guy
- 24:53because I guess the new guy was the one that worked on it.
- 24:55And this is again, something that they know can sometimes
- 24:58happen. And so I feel bad for the new
- 25:01guy because not only do they have to still when it was in
- 25:05before they replaced the one valve, but because of this, they
- 25:09had to replace all of them on their dime.
- 25:12And so I was like, Oh my gosh. So I did want to give them a
- 25:16shout out because they are so honest and it's Friendly's
- 25:20Automotive in Yakima. They have multiple locations but
- 25:23I went to the S 1st St. location.
- 25:25So nice, nice. Absolutely.
- 25:27All three of you guys that are listening, make sure you head up
- 25:30Friendly's next time you're in Yak for car repairs.
- 25:33Yeah, no, I mean, well, my dad was a mechanic, so and we've
- 25:38talked about. So I love telling this these
- 25:41stories because I swore as a kid, I swore the same car was
- 25:46always on the rack when I'd come see my dad.
- 25:48So my dad, it was funny. My dad would have a cup of
- 25:50coffee and the. Cigarette the same to you.
- 25:53Yeah, the car always, I don't care.
- 25:55I don't care What Car it was. It was always the same car in
- 25:57the rack. It probably could have, you
- 25:58know, it the same car never left the rack.
- 26:00But my whenever I would see my dad, it was so hilarious.
- 26:03I don't think I ever caught him working ever once on a car.
- 26:06And he always had a cigarette and then he always had a black,
- 26:09the blackest cup of coffee at his desk because he was going
- 26:11through a manual or something like that.
- 26:13Anyway, he did teach me a little lesson about about car repairs.
- 26:16And he says that there's this book that mechanics have, at
- 26:20least back in the day. I'm sure they have a different
- 26:21thing now. It's probably.
- 26:22Digital. Now it's the Internet.
- 26:23Right. But but they say say that as a
- 26:26standard practice for mechanics is if the book says, oh a
- 26:30transmission rebuild takes 16 hours and you can and let's say
- 26:33the mechanic gets done in like 6 hours, you still charge them for
- 26:37the 16 hours. Of.
- 26:39Course, well, that's for my dad, you know the one my dad and and
- 26:42so everybody kind of has sort had the same kind of book or the
- 26:44same right, you know, but again, I only defend that by Hey,
- 26:48you're you are paying for a service.
- 26:50Yeah, and I don't know how to do that.
- 26:52So if so, if I so finding a good mechanic is a is a big deal when
- 26:57I was in. Especially when you don't know
- 26:59anything about cars. Right, right.
- 27:01And I had my little Honda back in when I was in Lewiston.
- 27:04And so PDQ was the mechanics I went to religiously because they
- 27:10were good. And so finding a good mechanic
- 27:13that you trust. Yeah.
- 27:15Is is a big deal, so yeah. So what was again?
- 27:18What's the name of the? Friendlies.
- 27:19Friendlies, well they're obviously friendly and did a
- 27:21great job so they're and and they but they also know that
- 27:24you're going to go tell 10 other people and that's and that's
- 27:26really what it comes down to so. Right.
- 27:28But I think I'll probably write a Google review, which I never
- 27:31do, but I think that this warrants it so.
- 27:34Well, when you have ChatGPT you can do a great Google review.
- 27:38For them, no, I'm not going to do.
- 27:40That write me a great Yeah. So no, but but I hear you.
- 27:43A good mechanic is a big deal, and one that's not taking
- 27:47advantage of you is an even better deal.
- 27:49So yeah, I'm glad that it worked out.
- 27:52The car is gonna be great. Good for another 100,000 miles.
- 27:55I hope so. I don't know.
- 27:57We'll see even we can get another year and a half, two
- 28:01years out of it. That'll be good.
- 28:03I don't miss a car payment so. No, and that's why I don't want
- 28:06to. Get I don't, I don't I my, you
- 28:08know, I've had my truck paid off for a long time and, you know,
- 28:10lots of lights are on and stuff and there's lots of things that
- 28:13are broken, but I'm like, Nope, you know.
- 28:15Although a hybrid is looking pretty good.
- 28:17That's what we got Jay, the Toyota Rav 4 Hybrid and he can
- 28:22get from Yakima to Canyonville on one tank of gas.
- 28:27Wow, because of it. And so now with gas prices like
- 28:30there, I'm like hybrids looking pretty good right about now.
- 28:33Yeah, absolutely. And so anyway, yeah, there's
- 28:35some advantages there, that's for sure.
- 28:37Yeah, all right. I wanted to talk about TV shows.
- 28:40I watched a documentary. Not it's on a TV show.
- 28:43I watched a documentary. It's called All the Empty Rooms.
- 28:47It's on Netflix and it's I'm Steve Hartman.
- 28:50Do you know who he is from CBS? Where he does.
- 28:54He does like the heartwarming story or on Fridays.
- 28:57I love him like he he's great. But he did this documentary and
- 29:03it's called All the Empty Rooms. And it's about they go to the
- 29:08rooms of kids that have been killed by gun violence in
- 29:11America because the parents leave the rooms like how they
- 29:13were. And so they go and they
- 29:15photograph all these rooms and talk to the parents and they
- 29:19make these books for them to have.
- 29:22So it's it's pretty good. It wasn't as sad as I thought it
- 29:25was going to be. I was kind of bracing myself.
- 29:28And I think it was even nominated for an Oscar, some
- 29:30type of award. But yeah, so definitely watch
- 29:34it. That's good.
- 29:36Over the weekend, Megan and I went and saw Project Hail Mary.
- 29:39Did you? Oh.
- 29:40My God cried like cried like a baby.
- 29:43Oh, you did OK. Multiple times.
- 29:44Did you go see it? No, but I know.
- 29:47It's I cry. I cry.
- 29:48It's getting like rave reviews. And so I'm worried that, you
- 29:53know, how a movie gets like so much hype that then it doesn't
- 29:56live up to that hype. Wait.
- 29:58Oh, I think. It's great, OK, I'm worried that
- 30:01that's what is going to happen. If I go see it, I'll be like,
- 30:04what were these people talking? About no, I cried, wow, I cried
- 30:07multiple times and and at the end and at the end even tears of
- 30:11happiness, OK, like I'm like, why?
- 30:13I'm like, why am I crying? It's a happy, it's a happy.
- 30:16Why am I crying? Isn't it held like the next ET
- 30:19or something like whatever? I don't know.
- 30:22Yeah, I guess. I mean, it's so funny.
- 30:24I mean, I can't give away too, and it's an alien and I don't
- 30:27want to give it away for you, but.
- 30:28But I've kind of viewed the alien as a dog.
- 30:31But. Isn't it an alien?
- 30:34It's not, it's not, it's not. But for me, for me, I took the
- 30:38relationship like a dog. Isn't it like rock?
- 30:41Yeah, it's Rocky. His name's Rocky.
- 30:43His name's Rocky. Yeah, I've seen some of the
- 30:44previews. Oh, he's an alien.
- 30:46He's an alien. Yeah, he's an alien and all
- 30:48that. And you're going to love it.
- 30:48I, I but again, I cried. I cried like a baby through it.
- 30:51But I I viewed Rocky as more of a pet.
- 30:55He's not a pet. He's not a pet at all.
- 30:57But but I, I correlated my little brain.
- 31:00Correlated, that was a, you know, relationship with the dog.
- 31:03But oh, cried. I cried multiple times.
- 31:06Great, great movie. Loved it.
- 31:09To me, it's like, yeah, I think it's I don't.
- 31:12I don't think you'd be disappointed.
- 31:13Did Megan like it? Loved it.
- 31:14Well, she has the book, so she read the.
- 31:16Book. Oh, OK, yeah.
- 31:17It's a book. It's a book and it's the same
- 31:19guy who did The Martian, which I thought Martian was a I love the
- 31:22movie The Martian. What did she think compared to
- 31:25the book, how the movie was, It was pretty good because I know a
- 31:27lot of times the movies don't live up to the books.
- 31:30Yeah, I think that's one of the things she was most worried
- 31:32about was that it was not going to live up to the hype.
- 31:34And she thought she thought it did a pretty good, pretty good
- 31:37job, faithful job. Oh.
- 31:38That's good, yeah. So, I mean, a book has so much
- 31:40more than you can show in a movie.
- 31:42But. Yeah.
- 31:42But yeah. But she, yeah, she she liked it.
- 31:44I mean, I think she liked it a lot.
- 31:45She cried. OK.
- 31:47You know, you know, my, you know, my wife.
- 31:48That's. Why I was asking I?
- 31:49Was my wife, was always. Whether she cried or didn't cry,
- 31:52because if she didn't cry then it's like, OK, Megan didn't cry,
- 31:56so I don't know, but. Yeah, I OK, I don't know if
- 31:59Megan's on her call is going to yell upstairs to her because she
- 32:01was on a she's on call for work, but I I think she cried.
- 32:05OK. But I'd like to think I cried
- 32:07more. I was sniffed.
- 32:08I couldn't believe how much I cried through it.
- 32:09I mean, that's I could not believe, you know.
- 32:14All right, OK, let's move on. But we are talking about shows.
- 32:18I do want to touch on The Bachelorette.
- 32:20Do you know any about it? Do you know, do you know
- 32:22anything about this drama that's going on with?
- 32:25All, you know, being shown, all I know is that number one, I'm,
- 32:31I can't say it. I was going to say it.
- 32:33I wasn't going to say it. I'm not going to say it.
- 32:35Number one, I don't think she's that attractive.
- 32:37That's your own personal viewpoint.
- 32:40But it's like, I'm not. I'm not.
- 32:42I'm not attractive. It's not.
- 32:44About her being attractive. It's about.
- 32:47How popular and how much momentum there is for the secret
- 32:51lies and Mormon Wives show. OK, I just want to say this
- 32:54really quick. I don't care how attractive you
- 32:57are, if you have so much drama and crap in your life, you're
- 33:01ugly. She has a lot of drama.
- 33:04That's for. Sure, ugly you, you, you know,
- 33:06I'm saying your personality to me is ugly.
- 33:08If you have if you are the most beautiful person on the outside
- 33:13and yet and yet you have a personality that's ugly, you're
- 33:16ugly. I don't care.
- 33:17You know, there's no amount of good looks.
- 33:19There's no amount of good looks. And I learned this little lesson
- 33:21from Dave Edel because he's married to an 11.
- 33:25And our good buddy Jack was like, you know, I want to marry
- 33:28an 11 like you, Dave. And Dave said to to Jack, no
- 33:33matter what they look like, somebody's sick of their shit.
- 33:36Right. No matter, no matter how good
- 33:38they look, somebody's sick of their shit, right?
- 33:40So I thought we thought that was hilarious.
- 33:42So going back to this gal though I don't I get your.
- 33:45Name is Taylor. What's her name?
- 33:47Her name is Taylor. So yes, I I so I know the I know
- 33:52the video is old. Yes.
- 33:54It's for and it's an ex-boyfriend and all that.
- 33:57So and then and they decided to pull the show because this this
- 34:00video resurfaced. He's throwing a chair at him in
- 34:04the video. But why?
- 34:07Why do you want to reward that? Is it?
- 34:08Why do you want to reward that for a TV show?
- 34:10Why do you want to give her a TV show?
- 34:11No, I'm not saying that she should be rewarded.
- 34:15What I was confused about is on the secret lives of Mormon wives
- 34:20they talk about this like the video isn't shown but they talk
- 34:24about her getting arrested and so who at ABC right.
- 34:29I'm not saying whether she should or shouldn't have gotten
- 34:31arrested. I'm just want to know like, OK,
- 34:33who at ABC did not do their research, didn't know about
- 34:37this, We all know about it that have watched The Secret Lives of
- 34:40Mormon Wives. So how could someone not do
- 34:44their research and know about this or the extent of what
- 34:48happened? Like, yeah, those of us that
- 34:49watched The Secret Lives and Mormon Lives, we didn't know the
- 34:52whole that she threw a chair at him, but we knew she got
- 34:55arrested and why she got arrested.
- 34:57They talk about it. So who at ABC just totally
- 35:01overlooked this? Or maybe they wanted to overlook
- 35:03it because she's so popular. Thank you.
- 35:06I so I think, I think in their vetting process because they
- 35:10vet, you know, they might have thought, well, this is a while
- 35:13back, blah, blah, blah. And they thought, well, maybe
- 35:15it's, you know, every Internet, everything's, this is forever.
- 35:18Whatever I say here is forever. So, so, and, and people will dig
- 35:22it up and use it against you no matter what in every situation.
- 35:26And so I think what happened with when they vetted her, they
- 35:29were like, well, this is this little thing here.
- 35:31And then, and then the video came out again and people who
- 35:36had never seen it, hundreds of thousands of people who've never
- 35:39seen it, then they start writing in.
- 35:41Then they start going on, you know I'm saying right so well.
- 35:43Because like if this was a guy, you know, a bachelor guy that
- 35:49for a show and he threw a chair or beat up his girlfriend, he
- 35:53would immediately get old so. Well, a great example.
- 35:56It can't be a double standard that, oh, we're not going to
- 35:59pull her. Well, so look at right now.
- 36:01Chris Brown is out touring. Chris Brown's out touring,
- 36:04right? Well, what if someone suddenly
- 36:05reposted the Chris Brown Rihanna fistfight in the car?
- 36:08And his tour is doing well, too. No, I know, but what if they
- 36:11suddenly reposted that from whatever 10 years ago?
- 36:13Whatever, whatever that fight happened, right?
- 36:16And then suddenly people who had never seen it go, I'm not going
- 36:19to buy a ticket for that. You know, I'm not going to, I'm
- 36:21not going to support that. So I think, I think in AB CS,
- 36:24they were, they vetted and they, they thought well, they, they
- 36:27didn't assume, they didn't assume that there'd be as much
- 36:30blowback as I think that they're getting.
- 36:32Right. Well, and you and I both know
- 36:34the blowback does not come from necessarily the audience.
- 36:36Guess who it comes from? The advertisers.
- 36:38Right at. The end of the day, everything
- 36:40is about money. Yeah, and that's why I got
- 36:43pulled. They didn't get pulled because
- 36:44of the video. It got pulled because whoever
- 36:46advertises on The Bachelorette goes, Nope, we're not good,
- 36:49we're not supporting this, right.
- 36:51Don't you think that that's really, at the end of the day,
- 36:52what happened? Probably that's the only thing I
- 36:54could think of because again, that they should have known
- 36:57about this or they did and they overlooked it and just went
- 37:01like, OK, we're we're she's so popular, we're still going to go
- 37:04ahead with this. And then when this came out,
- 37:06they had to be like, wait, no, we're not.
- 37:09Are you just bummed because they disturbed your Tuesday night
- 37:12viewing? No, I was not going to watch it.
- 37:14Actually, I, I think I watched The Bachelor, right?
- 37:18Like the very first season and then that's it.
- 37:22It's two hours long. I can't do it.
- 37:24Like it's I love my dramas, don't get me wrong, like the
- 37:27Secret Lives of Mormon Wives and the Real Housewives franchises,
- 37:31but I cannot do too hours of this.
- 37:34I cannot. So I wasn't going to watch it.
- 37:37I I mean, I would probably like keep updated, just check out
- 37:40little snippets of it, but I wasn't going to actually sit
- 37:43down and watch it. So because again, it's a reality
- 37:46TV and we know it's not. Real right, So I could on on on
- 37:50my hand. I can think of all the times
- 37:51that I've watched the Bachelor Bachelorette.
- 37:53One time Chicago was on it. The rock.
- 37:56Band. Oh, so you that's when you
- 37:57watched. It, it was one, it was one of
- 37:59the date nights or whatever and they said Chicago's on.
- 38:01So I watched it and then of course, my good friend Faith
- 38:04Martin, who was on the Golden Bachelor and then she was also
- 38:07on Bachelor in Paradise. So I, I will not, I mean, I did
- 38:11watch her episode because I know her personally, you know, so
- 38:14that was always fun to always fun to watch.
- 38:16And then I'm sitting a guy watching this cheese.
- 38:18I'm like, Oh, this is just, I just, I just don't think it's
- 38:22realistic that gorgeous people get 25 P And I'm saying like, I
- 38:27just don't get it, man. I don't get it.
- 38:28Try to try to educate me on it I guess.
- 38:31I guess we're not gorgeous, so we'll never know.
- 38:34Well. We'll never know, but it's But
- 38:35it's just like, oh, it's so realistic that a guy gets to
- 38:38pick from 25 hot women or or a drop dead gorgeous woman gets to
- 38:42pick from 25 good looking guys. And truthfully, I know you don't
- 38:46believe this. This is how I look at those
- 38:47shows. They're there to get, they're
- 38:49there to get famous themselves because, because the.
- 38:52On a reality TV show. That's why they are there.
- 38:55And and the reason why it never ends up in marriage or except
- 38:59for the very first bachelor, was it the very first bachelor where
- 39:01they're still. Married or was it Bachelorette
- 39:03which is? It one of them, one of them
- 39:05still married. Yeah, there's Tristan Ryan,
- 39:07right? There's K Congrats to them, but
- 39:10you and I both know even if even if they marry at the end of the
- 39:13episode, they divorce within months because because all these
- 39:17other people are throwing themselves at each other.
- 39:20So it's. Like, and now you're Uber
- 39:22famous, you're not just a little bit famous or a little bit on
- 39:25the radar. Now I have a.
- 39:26Smorgasbord of a lot of hotties. Everybody's in your DMS. Right,
- 39:31right, right. It's like, why, why would I want
- 39:33to be married to this skank over here when I got 150 skanks that
- 39:37want me? You know, I can I can test drive
- 39:40all the skanks. So that's how I look at it.
- 39:43I mean, oh, and I just I have no, I'm sorry, good looking
- 39:47people like that. I don't have any empathy for it
- 39:50because you're going to probably get a job.
- 39:52They've got tons of money. They can get, you know, all the
- 39:55tail they want. So it's like, wow, I'm supposed
- 39:57to, I'm supposed to relate to them.
- 39:59They don't have to work for it. No, of course not.
- 40:03Do you think that? Do you think that gorgeous
- 40:05people really have to work for it?
- 40:07No, no. Of course not, you know?
- 40:10So, yeah. So to me, it's, you know, but
- 40:12that's just, hey, that's personal preference.
- 40:14You know, I say, put the ugly people on, you know, don't they
- 40:18do? I mean they have had shows like
- 40:20The Swan where remember that show where they did like a whole
- 40:24bunch of women that needed cosmetic surgeries.
- 40:26Yeah. And do you remember for some
- 40:28reason we're not for some reason we're just not into that.
- 40:30We want it's. Why is that?
- 40:32Why is No, I loved that show, actually.
- 40:34Right. Yeah, right.
- 40:36Why? Why is it that we really don't
- 40:37want to see the the regular people?
- 40:40Because it's TV, We want to see the good looking people.
- 40:43Yeah. And I will defend my friends.
- 40:44We want to see. The good looking people go
- 40:46through it. That's what we wanted through.
- 40:48It but I will say faith is the sweetest most I mean, she she
- 40:53no, she is, she is. Oh my gosh, she is.
- 40:56In real life, you're saying in real life.
- 40:59She is amazing, yeah. And you know, Faith, she's
- 41:02absolutely the, the sweetest, most darling.
- 41:05She just, she's got the biggest heart on the entire planet.
- 41:08I just, I just adore Faith. But guess what?
- 41:11Guess where she didn't find? Love on the bachelor or
- 41:13Bachelor? She did not Golden Match.
- 41:15She did not. She found love outside of that
- 41:17show of. Course, yeah, but now she did
- 41:19come she. Did come in 3rd I.
- 41:21Was going to say now she has her pick of people though that are
- 41:24now like in her DMS like hey like you should.
- 41:28Date well and she and she. If you know anything about faith
- 41:30too, she's picky. You have to, well, because of
- 41:34her life, because of her lifestyle, she's into horses,
- 41:37she's a musician, she's got her dogs.
- 41:39I mean, there's things that she will and won't.
- 41:41Do right she she's complete by herself.
- 41:44She doesn't need somebody else to make her complete, correct?
- 41:48The other person needs to compliment her.
- 41:50Yes, needs to complete her. Yes, yes, compliment her.
- 41:53Not complete her. Yeah, compliment her.
- 41:55Compliment her. So, so yes, so do I think that,
- 41:58you know, I mean, I'm sure fans are upset, but it's like I I
- 42:02think that that serves as a good lesson that used to.
- 42:06Be a lesson to ABC to be like what the.
- 42:09Oh so you're saying you're saying before they even started
- 42:12this thing they should have just vetted her better?
- 42:13Yes, that's what I like I said, this was on the show The Secret
- 42:19Lives of Mormon Wives. We all knew she got arrested.
- 42:22The video didn't come out. We didn't know about the whole
- 42:24her throwing a chair. So this was well known ABC knew
- 42:28about this. So I'm saying this falls on to
- 42:31them. Was she?
- 42:32On your Mormon show too. I said the secret lives more and
- 42:35more. She's on that.
- 42:37Show yes, that's where she's famous from so so.
- 42:41She's what? Is she divorced now?
- 42:43Yes, she's been divorced. So the boyfriend that she threw
- 42:47the chair out, Dakota, he's on the show.
- 42:50And that's so from her, from her first husband.
- 42:53She has two kids and then she had a baby with Dakota so.
- 42:56Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa.
- 42:58But the reason that she's famous from mom talk, oh, it gets
- 43:02better. It gets better from mom talk,
- 43:05which was their TikTok. That's how they originally got
- 43:08famous was there was this threesome scandal.
- 43:13And keep in mind, they're all Mormons.
- 43:15I know I'm already upset. This and so that's what kind of,
- 43:21I don't know if it's necessarily propelled her into being famous
- 43:26on TikTok. And then once the show aired on
- 43:30Hulu, then it really gained momentum.
- 43:33Did she have a threesome? Yes, she's one of the.
- 43:36She's one of the one of the original ones out of mom talk
- 43:40that had the threesome and blew up mom talk a little bit and
- 43:44figurative. I mean both.
- 43:46It kind of like blew up mom mom talk as far as like they weren't
- 43:49all together doing videos anymore.
- 43:53But yeah. And then it also blew it up.
- 43:55Like she got like millions and millions of views because she
- 43:58does this video where she confesses and talks about it
- 44:02about the threesome. And so that's what really blew
- 44:05it all up so. Yeah, well, OK, so so she's
- 44:09nothing, but, you know, I get it now.
- 44:11It's like, oh, she's got so much.
- 44:12She has a lot of drama. She has a lot of drama.
- 44:15But that's what she brings to this show, too, and that's why
- 44:18people love it. I struggle because to me my
- 44:22biggest struggle more than anything else is I really
- 44:25struggle with religious people who say one thing and do
- 44:27another. I just do I well.
- 44:30She's not. So there's like there's the two
- 44:32different types of Mormons on the show now.
- 44:34There's like the ones that are the practicing ones that go to
- 44:38temple that don't drink alcohol. And then you have the ones on
- 44:42the show that are, I don't know if they still go to temple, but
- 44:47you know, like they drink a little bit they anyway.
- 44:50So you have like the two different groups.
- 44:53I, you know what I don't want? I don't want to.
- 44:55I don't want to drag in dirty laundry or anything, but I was
- 45:00working at a radio station in Idaho Falls at Z1 O3.
- 45:04It was gosh, what year was it? 1990 two, 1992 I was working at
- 45:08a race station in Idaho Falls, which is heavily Mormon, so
- 45:13Rexburg and Pocatello and Salt Lake City and all that.
- 45:18And I remember in the middle of the night I was working, I was
- 45:20working in the middle of the night.
- 45:21And this gal calls me up in the middle of the night.
- 45:23And so she's talking to me and she's like, oh, she goes my my
- 45:27dad is a minister, blah, blah, blah, we're Mormon, blah, blah,
- 45:30blah. You know, what time do you get
- 45:32off? And so I had a one night stand
- 45:35with this girl. You did?
- 45:37Yes, of course I did. I'm a man.
- 45:39I'm a man. It was 1992.
- 45:41It was night, you know, but, but not enough.
- 45:44I mean, it was somebody I just met, so it wasn't that good.
- 45:47I mean, to me it's like, yeah, I mean, I, I don't, I don't.
- 45:50Ask that. No, no, no, I'm saying, and
- 45:54we're not gonna talk about it long.
- 45:55It's like there's a reason why I don't care for, I mean, I don't
- 45:58care for one night stands, right?
- 45:59Because you don't know the person.
- 46:01Right. So to me, it's like, it's like,
- 46:04I mean, have I, have I had one night stands?
- 46:07Yes. Obviously, you just admitted.
- 46:09I did. Yes.
- 46:10I've had, I've had a few in my life and they're never is.
- 46:12They're never OK. They're never satisfying as a
- 46:15relationship. No.
- 46:17They're just not. But, but I love the fact that
- 46:19this was 1992 and she goes, oh, my daddy's a big Mormon person,
- 46:23blah, blah, blah. Well, I've always said that.
- 46:25You had a one night stand with the Bishop's daughter.
- 46:27Yes, I've always said, you know, if if if you ever want to get,
- 46:33you know, that the preacher's daughter is usually the first
- 46:35person that gives it up because not always, but repression.
- 46:40I don't want to start nothing here because I'm like, you know,
- 46:42but but I'm again, it's like, hey, we're all weak, blah, blah,
- 46:45blah, blah. I mean, I get it, but it's just
- 46:48like, it's like it. Yeah, just like, don't I'm just
- 46:50one of those people. Don't say one thing.
- 46:53Hey, I, I, I, I say what? I am a heathen.
- 47:00I wasn't the, I was not the one on the phone saying that I was
- 47:03religious in any form whatsoever.
- 47:06What's that? You didn't call her up, she
- 47:08called. I did not.
- 47:09She called me up and and and, and I don't I, I have my own
- 47:15personal code in which I live by, you know, which I'm very
- 47:19proud of, you know, because I mean, you, you've gotten to know
- 47:22me through the years. You know, I've never, I mean
- 47:24again, I've never had a one night stand with a drunk person
- 47:27like meet at a bar and they get drunk and we go home.
- 47:30Never because I don't believe they're in their right mind.
- 47:33So great. So I just want to clarify, I
- 47:35have standard, I have standards. I wasn't, you know, she was in.
- 47:40She was in the stand, used to be sober.
- 47:42That's. What's that?
- 47:44Your one night stand needs to be sober.
- 47:46That she was. Yeah, she.
- 47:47She knew what she was doing. She had multiple consent forms
- 47:50ready to go. You know what I'm saying?
- 47:51Just like the movie, right? I'm.
- 47:53How old was she? Do you know how old she was?
- 47:55My gosh, so I was what, 92? So I was 22.
- 47:59So she was right. Couldn't have been.
- 48:01She must have been around the same age.
- 48:02She wasn't that you did, you know?
- 48:05Oh my God, you didn't. Even know.
- 48:07She was not. She was over I, I think.
- 48:09She wasn't 15. Or 14?
- 48:11I saw her driver's license, right?
- 48:12Did you? I verified she was over 18.
- 48:15OK. So I'm sure I did.
- 48:17I never heard from her again. That was it.
- 48:20Well, I mean if if it's a one night stand, you're not supposed
- 48:23to hear from each. Other never, never.
- 48:25So it's like those are the rules.
- 48:26I'm not proud of it. But hey, you know, at least
- 48:29we're, you know, this is a podcast and we could be honest,
- 48:32right? We're among friends, all four of
- 48:34us. Yeah.
- 48:35You know, so my, my big thing going back to the, the, the more
- 48:39in situation is I just, I don't like when people say they're one
- 48:43thing and they do another. Right.
- 48:45So that's why I have a problem with this Bachelorette or don't
- 48:48don't prefer, don't profess to be a Christian and then you do
- 48:51everything that literally against your Christian morals.
- 48:54Right, but. You know, I'd rather say to.
- 48:56I'd rather. You say to Christians right now,
- 48:58so. I know, but I'd rather, I'd
- 48:59rather you be a Satanist. I don't mean those, you know
- 49:02what I mean. I'd rather, I'd rather you say,
- 49:05I'd rather have someone be honest and go, yeah, I'm a liar.
- 49:07I'm a cheater. All right, now I know what I'm
- 49:09dealing with. Great.
- 49:10Now I'm like OK, now I now I can navigate that.
- 49:13Cards on the table. Cards are on the table because
- 49:16and then hey, and then hey. If I, if I get myself mixed up
- 49:19in the drama, that's on me. That's not on them.
- 49:22It's. The same thing as in a in a
- 49:24relationship, when someone tells you exactly what they want, you
- 49:27know, it's like, yeah, I mean, I, I don't know.
- 49:32Have you ever been in those positions?
- 49:33I've been, I've been in those positions many years ago, many
- 49:35years ago, I went to, went on a trip to Vegas with a gal and we
- 49:39stayed in the same hotel room. Nothing happened.
- 49:41Nothing happened. And I remember my got back to
- 49:45the got back to Bakersfield and the gal went to to her roommate
- 49:49and says what's wrong with Rick? And she goes, what do you mean
- 49:50what's wrong with Rick? Well, we were in the hotel room
- 49:53together and he didn't make a move on me.
- 49:55He didn't do he didn't touch me and and she goes and, and so she
- 50:00came to me later and she goes why didn't you touch her blah,
- 50:02blah, blah. And I said, well, we had that
- 50:04the. Roommates.
- 50:05The roommate came to you and said that, not the girl.
- 50:08You went on the Yeah. No.
- 50:09And her roommate? That's weird.
- 50:11Well, because her roommate. Yeah, came to me and said, hey,
- 50:13why didn't you sleep with my friend?
- 50:15And I said, and I said, and I said, well, when I talked to
- 50:19her, she said she didn't know what she wanted.
- 50:21And I said, well, the minute you don't know what you want, guess
- 50:24what? I'm not doing it.
- 50:25Right. Because yeah, if you did.
- 50:29And then she then was like oh, regretted it and then blames
- 50:34you. Or any of I mean, she wasn't
- 50:36like that. But I'm just saying like that
- 50:39happens a lot in situations. The minute, the minute that she
- 50:42says I don't know what I want, I'm like, I'm like, and we
- 50:44stayed in the same room the whole night.
- 50:46I didn't touch her. I didn't touch her.
- 50:47And so she was upset. She went to her friend.
- 50:49She was upset like why didn't he touch me and why didn't he make
- 50:51a move? And she said, what did you tell
- 50:54him? Well, she goes, well, I didn't.
- 50:55I told him I didn't know what I wanted.
- 50:56And she goes, well, that's what Rick's going to do.
- 50:57He's going to go, Nope, great. Because at that time I was not
- 51:0222 years old. If only more guys lived by those
- 51:06by those. So you can.
- 51:08You don't have to be religious to have a code.
- 51:11No, but a lot of people who are not religious have are better
- 51:17Christians than. You feel Christians are
- 51:20Christians? That say they're Christians,
- 51:22like right? There's so many people that I
- 51:25know that are not religious that are such good people.
- 51:29Well, but I mean the thing you've known me for 30 years,
- 51:32right? When it comes to those
- 51:33situations, I'm black and white. Yes, Yeah, you are.
- 51:36Yeah, that. That plain and simple, plain and
- 51:38simple. I'm always like you in, you out.
- 51:42That's it. There's no in that particular
- 51:44situation. And if there's a.
- 51:45Hiding the fence. Right.
- 51:46And if there's a I'm like, all right, boys, we're done.
- 51:50We're done here, boys, we're done here.
- 51:52Let's get going. Pack it up.
- 51:55So yes, I, you know, go back to The Bachelorette.
- 51:58It's just, it's to me, it's like, I don't know, I could that
- 52:01much drama. She does have a lot of drama,
- 52:03but again, that's why she is so popular and the franchise does
- 52:08so well. Is she sexy though?
- 52:10I mean, do you find her attractive?
- 52:12I think. That's I think that's a
- 52:14personal. All right, Michelle, do you find
- 52:16her attractive? I don't think she's the sexiest
- 52:18out of all the secret lives and Mormon lives.
- 52:20OK, there's other ones, I'm just asking.
- 52:22That's not picking on her look. Way cuter.
- 52:24Hey, I already know she's better looking than I am so that's OK.
- 52:27You know what I'm saying? I I already know I'm fugly, I
- 52:29get it. But.
- 52:30But I'm not trying to be a TV *. Not yet, anyway.
- 52:37All right, we're almost out of time, but right, We're going to
- 52:40be off next week, in case you didn't know.
- 52:42After this? After this revelating, you know,
- 52:46revealing podcasts, we may be off permanently you never.
- 52:49Know well, yeah, I'll be in San Diego next week so yeah, so
- 52:53that's why we will not have an episode next week.
- 52:56But I'll be able to tell you all about like TSA, how that goes if
- 53:00I see ICE agents in the airport. Yeah, I I love that, Trump said.
- 53:04Oh, hey, guys, take off your mask.
- 53:06Yeah, that's the most ridiculous bunch of crap I've ever heard in
- 53:10my entire pay TSA. Yes.
- 53:12Pay, pay, pay the people, pay the people, and I don't care if
- 53:17you're an American or not. Nothing is more intimidating
- 53:19than some Jack wagon with a frickin mask and a bunch and a
- 53:23gun and that shit. I'm an American citizen and I
- 53:26don't like that shit, right? So I'm curious how you'll handle
- 53:28that. I'll report back.
- 53:32That's it for today's episode of Rick and That Michelle J, Thanks

- 53:44that follow button. Don't forget to rate and review
- 53:47the show. It helps people find our chaos.
