- 0:18Speaker 3: Live from the Haunting.

- 0:22Speaker 4: Jacob Hester, Yo, and welcome in to ot B here
- 0:35Speaker 4: live from Pro Dreams right here off Burbank in the
- 0:41Speaker 4: og walk On shopping center.
- 0:43Speaker 2: Pro dash Dreams dot Com is the website. Jake Flynn here,
- 0:47Speaker 2: Landra Tata back in studio.
- 0:49Speaker 5: How are we doing so doing fantastic? Excited for another
- 0:53Speaker 5: Thursday here at Pro Dreams. We are locked and loaded,
- 0:56Speaker 5: ready to talk some uh game day. We are you
- 0:59Speaker 5: talk about A and M? Actually to be looking at this,
- 1:03Speaker 5: I don't know what is. It's one hundred and twenty
- 1:04Speaker 5: inch TV right here. It's a gigantic. This is the
- 1:07Speaker 5: twenty twenty three LSU A and M game we're watching
- 1:11Speaker 5: right here as we talk to you guys.
- 1:13Speaker 2: Yeah, they just threw up a stat that said LSU's
- 1:17Speaker 2: defense at the beginning of this game had scored on touchdowns,
- 1:22Speaker 2: not just field goals, on thirteen straight drives.
- 1:24Speaker 5: That was two offense. Yes, where you going? We know
- 1:27Speaker 5: the defense didn't score on Thirteenthtraight Drives.
- 1:29Speaker 2: Well, they got probably scored on in that year, yes,
- 1:32Speaker 2: but thirteenth Street drives they had a touchdown. So if
- 1:35Speaker 2: you know where one of those is at, let me know.
- 1:38Speaker 3: Yeah, we just see one of those offenses this weekend.
- 1:40Speaker 2: That's it. And I'm gonna blame Jordan because Jordan turned
- 1:43Speaker 2: us on and now it's his fault. And also who
- 1:46Speaker 2: made me watch the Pelicans last night? And they fell
- 1:49Speaker 2: apart in the third quarter, got outscored, they got doubled
- 1:53Speaker 2: up in the third quarter, then really got outscored the
- 1:55Speaker 2: entire second half and they lose by six if I
- 1:58Speaker 2: remember right. Yeah, thanks Jordan.
- 2:00Speaker 5: I thought you were joking about starting the show with
- 2:02Speaker 5: Pelicans talk.
- 2:03Speaker 2: No, no, what do you mean. It's the local sports
- 2:06Speaker 2: team right down the street.
- 2:08Speaker 5: Yeah, but y'all told me yesterday that I didn't really
- 2:09Speaker 5: have to start focusing on basketball until Christmas.
- 2:11Speaker 2: I want to just flock up all the way.
- 2:14Speaker 5: No, I can't do that. Like, look, I've made a
- 2:17Speaker 5: lot of a lot of steps this year. I would
- 2:18Speaker 5: now a Saints fan. You don't have to be you know,
- 2:21Speaker 5: baby steps. Yeah, you don't have to be a fan
- 2:24Speaker 5: of the team. That you cover either like it helps.
- 2:27Speaker 2: I'm not going to ask you to go buy a
- 2:29Speaker 2: Pelicans jersey.
- 2:31Speaker 3: Yeah now, I'm not covering humntil.
- 2:32Speaker 2: Christmas, all right, give me two Pelicans.
- 2:35Speaker 5: Tan and uh Yeeves. Oh you tried. I tried, you tried. No,
- 2:49Speaker 5: I couldn't even tell you. The coach bud Willie Green
- 2:52Speaker 5: for easy name. All right, we'll get you there Christmas.
- 2:58Speaker 5: Christmas is when I'll start, so you won't have a
- 3:01Speaker 5: down background.
- 3:02Speaker 2: You'll start hm. President's Day. It's like usually you know
- 3:08Speaker 2: when is that one on February twenty twenty second?
- 3:11Speaker 3: Have it down much? President's Day? You have it?
- 3:12Speaker 2: Sure? Okay, all right, fair enough, Well that's all you
- 3:15Speaker 2: can ask for.
- 3:16Speaker 3: It down as good as the head LSU baseball down.
- 3:18Speaker 2: I stitchead stitch. By the end of it, I tried,
- 3:21Speaker 2: you did, I thought you did pretty well. So you
- 3:24Speaker 2: did pretty well. Uh. We are here. We enjoy hanging
- 3:29Speaker 2: out Thursday's home games cuz LSU is back in Tiger Stadium.
- 3:34Speaker 2: So when you see us here, that means the Tigers
- 3:36Speaker 2: are at home. What a great opportunity they have at home.
- 3:40Speaker 2: And again we are watching the twenty twenty three LSU
- 3:43Speaker 2: A and M game, and I know LSU is going
- 3:46Speaker 2: to be victorious because you know what, since AM joined
- 3:49Speaker 2: the SEC, they have not won in Tiger Stadium. How
- 3:52Speaker 2: much of that, Matthew, how much of that plays a
- 3:56Speaker 2: factor in Saturday's game?
- 3:59Speaker 5: Oh well, I think it plays a huge factor for sure.
- 4:01Speaker 5: I mean, but well, the reason why these the stats
- 4:04Speaker 5: are like that in the last handful of years or
- 4:06Speaker 5: however many years, is because both stadiums are really tough
- 4:10Speaker 5: places to play. They're both very like whatever you think
- 4:13Speaker 5: about the A and M and the yell leaders and
- 4:15Speaker 5: all that stuff, like, it's a really tough place to
- 4:17Speaker 5: go in and play.
- 4:19Speaker 3: The atmosphere is really good there.
- 4:21Speaker 5: So for LSU to come in and to their home
- 4:26Speaker 5: field and play an A and M team that is
- 4:29Speaker 5: top five, they are certainly going to need the home
- 4:33Speaker 5: field advantage. We're going to need all the fans to
- 4:35Speaker 5: show out, show up, be loud, do your thing throughout
- 4:39Speaker 5: the day that makes you loud and crazy at night. Yeah,
- 4:42Speaker 5: so just keep doing that. Yeah. It is a hard sellout,
- 4:45Speaker 5: like not one of those fake ones. You know, I
- 4:47Speaker 5: sold out.
- 4:48Speaker 2: Hold on, wait a minute, I see a lot of
- 4:51Speaker 2: EMCI seats in here. This is like a hard sellout.
- 4:54Speaker 2: It's supposed to be the environment that we're talking about,
- 4:57Speaker 2: and you are going to need it, and you're going
- 4:59Speaker 2: to need some things that you haven't had, Like you're
- 5:03Speaker 2: going to need to on the opening drive, right, you
- 5:06Speaker 2: scored a field goals the first time, the first points
- 5:09Speaker 2: you've gotten on an opening drive this year. Last week,
- 5:12Speaker 2: I mean before that, it was five punts in an interception.
- 5:15Speaker 2: All right, So okay, you got a field goal, that's great.
- 5:17Speaker 2: What else can you do? Can you put the ball
- 5:19Speaker 2: in the end zone? Because you've got to do things
- 5:21Speaker 2: that you haven't done this year if you want to
- 5:23Speaker 2: be victorious. That's just the way it is. You're the
- 5:24Speaker 2: underdog in your stadium. Yep, you're twentieth in the country.
- 5:28Speaker 2: They're going to be number three in the country. So
- 5:30Speaker 2: you got to do things that you haven't done before,
- 5:32Speaker 2: like otherwise you're not going to win this game. And
- 5:34Speaker 2: that's going that has to be the challenge this week.
- 5:36Speaker 2: Across the street.
- 5:37Speaker 5: Yeah, you look at the game and you look at
- 5:40Speaker 5: the opponent, and this opponent is being propped up and
- 5:43Speaker 5: rightfully so I don't think there's any glaring weaknesses on
- 5:46Speaker 5: this team. They got a quarterback that is playing really well,
- 5:49Speaker 5: very dynamic, but it's certainly not the first mobile quarterback
- 5:52Speaker 5: we've had to face, so they've we are pretty seasoned
- 5:55Speaker 5: in that aspect. I think this is going to be
- 5:56Speaker 5: the fifth one so far, fourth or fifth one. But
- 6:00Speaker 5: your team as an LS team as a whole, like
- 6:02Speaker 5: you're gonna have to play, you know, not only your
- 6:05Speaker 5: best game of the season, but like your best game
- 6:07Speaker 5: of the season by far. You especially offensively, like the
- 6:10Speaker 5: defenses has showed showed up and showed out.
- 6:13Speaker 3: Plenty of times.
- 6:15Speaker 5: They need to play a little bit more discipline this
- 6:17Speaker 5: week than they did last week, take a little bit
- 6:20Speaker 5: better angles.
- 6:20Speaker 3: But from an offensive standpoint, you have to be a.
- 6:25Speaker 5: You've been like a shadow of yourself that you have
- 6:27Speaker 5: in the past couple of years. Yeah, you have to
- 6:29Speaker 5: be much much better.
- 6:33Speaker 3: And we've talked about this. We've earlier in this week.
- 6:35Speaker 5: We've done all the breakdowns, We've shown you different things
- 6:38Speaker 5: that need to improve, people that need to play better,
- 6:41Speaker 5: and we all know who it is is and who
- 6:43Speaker 5: all those people are on offense and everything, everything, just
- 6:46Speaker 5: everything has to come together. And if it doesn't come together,
- 6:50Speaker 5: you're going to be looking at an opportunity to lose
- 6:52Speaker 5: another game. But if it does come together, you have
- 6:55Speaker 5: an opportunity here in your home field, with the crowd
- 6:59Speaker 5: at your back, with a good defense, if that offense
- 7:01Speaker 5: can come together, execute, come off the ball, play with
- 7:05Speaker 5: play with a little nastiness, play with a little anger
- 7:08Speaker 5: on the offensive lineman, read the defenses, make the play.
- 7:11Speaker 3: When you get the ball in.
- 7:11Speaker 5: Your hand, then you got an opportunity to upset in
- 7:15Speaker 5: on your home field a top five team.
- 7:18Speaker 2: What can you do within like a week to change
- 7:22Speaker 2: some of the things that you didn't do a week ago,
- 7:25Speaker 2: is like kind of gonna be my question. Like you
- 7:27Speaker 2: don't have a bye week. You come back home, right,
- 7:29Speaker 2: it's a normal week. Yeah, you don't have to travel,
- 7:32Speaker 2: which that does help. I mean you get you know,
- 7:33Speaker 2: some extra time in your own building. But like that's
- 7:36Speaker 2: gonna be my question, what can you do? And we've
- 7:39Speaker 2: broken down the film multiple times, you've written about it,
- 7:42Speaker 2: like we've we've seen some of the issues, and sure,
- 7:45Speaker 2: like it's in performance and it's in scheme, and it's
- 7:48Speaker 2: in the totality of everything that we're talking about. Like
- 7:50Speaker 2: that's gonna be my question of what can you do?
- 7:52Speaker 2: Have you done anything, because if you rolled the same
- 7:54Speaker 2: thing out there, you're going to see a very similar result.
- 7:59Speaker 3: Well, there's not a lot you can do from a
- 8:02Speaker 3: changing It's got.
- 8:04Speaker 5: To already be in the philosophy. It's already got to
- 8:06Speaker 5: be in there. I mean, you had opportunities in on
- 8:11Speaker 5: the bye week. There's obviously more opportunities on the bye
- 8:13Speaker 5: week to come and to do something like that, and
- 8:15Speaker 5: we saw them make the effort and go under center,
- 8:18Speaker 5: throw a full.
- 8:19Speaker 3: Back in there and do some things.
- 8:23Speaker 5: What I see is you have to as from a
- 8:27Speaker 5: starting with the coaching staff and.
- 8:29Speaker 3: Players on offense.
- 8:30Speaker 5: It's you need one of those situations where you look
- 8:32Speaker 5: in the mirror and you need like a like a
- 8:34Speaker 5: Rocky movie type montage situation where you just get in
- 8:38Speaker 5: your car and drive to some eighties music and like
- 8:41Speaker 5: you got to.
- 8:41Speaker 2: Refocus the distance a little bit.
- 8:44Speaker 5: You gotta understand as a coaching staff, like what you're
- 8:46Speaker 5: what you're teaching, what you're training, isn't always working like
- 8:51Speaker 5: you wanted to. Maybe it's not they're they're not doing
- 8:56Speaker 5: what you're coaching. Maybe you are coaching and it's just
- 9:00Speaker 5: it's not working like you don't like, So as a
- 9:02Speaker 5: coach staff, you have to figure out, Okay, how can
- 9:05Speaker 5: I communicate with these guys better? How can we improve
- 9:08Speaker 5: what we are telling them to do, how can we
- 9:10Speaker 5: simplify some of the calls that they are making. And
- 9:13Speaker 5: then and we all know that Nuss is not playing
- 9:16Speaker 5: up to the standard that he has shown us. So
- 9:19Speaker 5: it's one of those situations where he's got to get
- 9:20Speaker 5: some confidence. He's got to look in And then you
- 9:23Speaker 5: know a lot of the game, especially at the quarterback position,
- 9:25Speaker 5: but every single position out there, I mean, it's it's
- 9:27Speaker 5: between the ears.
- 9:28Speaker 2: Man.
- 9:28Speaker 3: You have to go out there and you've got to
- 9:30Speaker 3: get your mind right and you have to play. You
- 9:33Speaker 3: can't play scared. Just let it rip.
- 9:35Speaker 2: He's got to be How do you how do you
- 9:36Speaker 2: do that? I've never played quarterback. You are sleeping on
- 9:39Speaker 2: my arm talent the entire time. Y'all didn't let me
- 9:41Speaker 2: throw any balls when we were here at LSU. No
- 9:43Speaker 2: halfback passes. Okay, how do you do that? Because there's obviously,
- 9:48Speaker 2: like there's a quarterback has to be the most mental position.
- 9:52Speaker 2: I can't even imagine you're dealing with a thousand things.
- 9:54Speaker 2: If it's not going right, and you get the yips whatever, whatever. Okay,
- 9:58Speaker 2: if you were a coach and you have a quarterback dead,
- 10:00Speaker 2: it's strown for four thousand yards and you can tell
- 10:02Speaker 2: like it's just it's a hair here or hair there,
- 10:04Speaker 2: whatever it might be. Is it come out of the gates?
- 10:08Speaker 2: Get him an easy throw? Is it like? What is
- 10:11Speaker 2: it like? What would you do to try to make
- 10:12Speaker 2: sure he gets in the flow of the game.
- 10:16Speaker 3: I would have.
- 10:19Speaker 5: Easy throw hasn't been the answer because of the numerous
- 10:24Speaker 5: and nauseating, the amount of nauseating amount of wide receiver
- 10:27Speaker 5: screens we've done. I would there's no better way to
- 10:33Speaker 5: get an offense into rhythm, in my opinion, than to
- 10:38Speaker 5: go to a no huddle, hide tempo type drive type series.
- 10:43Speaker 5: So you see it all the time, and we've seen
- 10:45Speaker 5: it for It's frustrated for fans to watch a bunch
- 10:48Speaker 5: because you'll watch your favorite team play and they struggle
- 10:51Speaker 5: on offense, They struggling. We saw all the Saints this
- 10:52Speaker 5: past weekend in Chicago. They're struggling on an offense, like man,
- 10:55Speaker 5: they can't move the ball.
- 10:56Speaker 3: Then all of a.
- 10:56Speaker 5: Sudden, it's two minutes before the half and they're like
- 10:59Speaker 5: completion completion, completion, working their way down the field. Why
- 11:02Speaker 5: is that why people are always like, why is they
- 11:05Speaker 5: doing why are they doing that? Why can't they move
- 11:07Speaker 5: the ball until they go two minute at the end
- 11:08Speaker 5: of the end of the half or end of the game. Well,
- 11:11Speaker 5: because when you go two minute, you're working your most
- 11:13Speaker 5: base plays that you install day one of training camp,
- 11:18Speaker 5: day one of OTA's or spring training, and maybe a
- 11:21Speaker 5: little bit from day two.
- 11:23Speaker 3: But it's these plays.
- 11:23Speaker 5: That you're running that you've run thousands and thousands of
- 11:27Speaker 5: time from pro level to college, Like you've run these
- 11:31Speaker 5: basic plays and these basic plays that are basic that
- 11:36Speaker 5: everybody does because they got answers for everything, and you
- 11:38Speaker 5: don't have to think about it. Like when when you
- 11:40Speaker 5: come out in the first half of a game, especially
- 11:42Speaker 5: we talked to like the first fifteen.
- 11:44Speaker 3: These are all scripted plays.
- 11:45Speaker 5: These are plays that coaches think about based on film
- 11:50Speaker 5: review of the opponent you're playing. That's like, all right,
- 11:52Speaker 5: based on this, this team's more of a three four
- 11:54Speaker 5: than a four to three. This team's an overfront stead
- 11:56Speaker 5: of an underfront. This time, like these guys like to
- 11:58Speaker 5: do even with the state end up in blah blah blah,
- 12:01Speaker 5: they're more of a nickel team. So they you draw
- 12:03Speaker 5: up these plays and now they are the foundation of
- 12:07Speaker 5: all these plays is set. But there's little nuances and
- 12:10Speaker 5: they're like, all right, well this team, we saw Alabama
- 12:13Speaker 5: do this against this team, so we're gonna do this
- 12:15Speaker 5: play right because it worked. And every let me tell you,
- 12:19Speaker 5: every team is like that. This is not an ls US.
- 12:21Speaker 5: Every team, every league, every offensive coordinator, everybody, every coach
- 12:25Speaker 5: ever is like that.
- 12:25Speaker 3: And and it works a lot.
- 12:28Speaker 5: But when your offense is struggling and you're struggling to
- 12:30Speaker 5: get into that rhythm, struggling to get your quarterback in
- 12:32Speaker 5: that rhythm. I was always the proponent of, like, man,
- 12:35Speaker 5: let's just go two minutes. Let's run our base plays.
- 12:38Speaker 5: You have answers, get the check down. And that was
- 12:40Speaker 5: always like the most important thing too in two minutes,
- 12:42Speaker 5: just get a completion. Yeah, not a screen pass completion.
- 12:47Speaker 5: Get it complete. I don't care if you stick. I
- 12:50Speaker 5: don't care if it's one place. So like we would
- 12:52Speaker 5: cover two man, I think this is open.
- 12:55Speaker 2: I'm just gonna pump fake and hit my check down.
- 12:57Speaker 5: For two yards. Okay, we're in it now, all right,
- 13:00Speaker 5: we're going let's roll. So I always thought that was
- 13:03Speaker 5: the best way, and again we saw it with Proof
- 13:05Speaker 5: of the Saints this past weekend. They had like four
- 13:08Speaker 5: yards in the first half, then all of a sudden
- 13:11Speaker 5: two minute drive boom boom, boom boom.
- 13:13Speaker 2: Yep. So that's what I would do they got them going,
- 13:16Speaker 2: I wouldn't run got back in the game.
- 13:17Speaker 5: I wouldn't run wide receiver screen off of a potential run.
- 13:22Speaker 3: I wouldn't do that.
- 13:24Speaker 2: Well, it's gonna go check out the article if you
- 13:26Speaker 2: want to see what Luisa Sports dot Net. Check out
- 13:31Speaker 2: the film review and you'll see why. It's probably not
- 13:34Speaker 2: a recipe for success. All right. That is obviously just
- 13:39Speaker 2: a one look of many looks for the LSU Texas
- 13:42Speaker 2: A and M game that we're going to have. We'll
- 13:43Speaker 2: have a New Orleans Saints, Tampa Bay Bucks Tampa Bay

- 16:53Speaker 5: you've never done IV therapy IV Recovery IV.
- 16:58Speaker 3: Just feeling good.
- 17:00Speaker 5: I would go see them right there on Jeffson Highway
- 17:02Speaker 5: and your boat cause just go sign up. You can
- 17:04Speaker 5: be in and out signing up a new account. Getting
- 17:06Speaker 5: that V in and out probably thirty to forty minutes.
- 17:08Speaker 5: Feel good, especially as this weather is changing. Man, I
- 17:10Speaker 5: was kind of cold walking out to the card. It
- 17:12Speaker 5: was like fifty degrees.
- 17:13Speaker 3: You know what that means. You get a little nose sniffle,
- 17:15Speaker 3: get a little running nose.
- 17:16Speaker 5: You can start getting that cold, that fall change of
- 17:19Speaker 5: weather cold, and they.
- 17:20Speaker 3: Can help you with the vitamins, with the hydration.
- 17:23Speaker 2: Go see him, Go flow right now, right now, all right.
- 17:27Speaker 2: LSU will likely be shorthanded again on defense. The first
- 17:33Speaker 2: injury report that we have seen this week, so what
- 17:36Speaker 2: weeks is listed as doubtful. Look, I mean wotand practice
- 17:40Speaker 2: whittenn't play last week. It's if wit was certainly available,
- 17:44Speaker 2: you would see him out there. We all know what weeks,
- 17:47Speaker 2: We know his mentality, so him not practicing at that
- 17:50Speaker 2: signifies yet he's probably not playing in this game. So
- 17:52Speaker 2: probably senior defensive tackle Binar Gooden also remains questionable. That
- 17:57Speaker 2: is another big blow to this LSU defense. He's got
- 18:00Speaker 2: the Bruce collarbom and you know, not really sure when
- 18:05Speaker 2: he's going to be back and when he's going to
- 18:07Speaker 2: be available. It's tough. Butler, your edge rusher, he's probable
- 18:13Speaker 2: he's had an ankle sprain. So that's good news to
- 18:16Speaker 2: try to get one of more of your edge rushers back.
- 18:18Speaker 2: Certainly you were down numbers at that position group last
- 18:22Speaker 2: week in Nashville. On the offensive side of the football,
- 18:25Speaker 2: Tyree Adams is out, your starting left tackle, so Brian
- 18:29Speaker 2: Kelly said on Monday that red shirt sophomore DJ Chester
- 18:33Speaker 2: would likely man that spot in his absence. And you
- 18:36Speaker 2: know Texas A and m Moss the running back, Bray
- 18:39Speaker 2: talents runningack who actually we just saw score touchdown score
- 18:45Speaker 2: twenty twenty three. Defense obviously batan Rugs native, he is
- 18:49Speaker 2: listed as out as well. Now they've got I mean,
- 18:52Speaker 2: Ruben Owens is the stud running back as well. But
- 18:54Speaker 2: look most the game changers. So that's not nothing for
- 18:57Speaker 2: Texas A and m Yrie Adams being out because look,
- 19:01Speaker 2: I very much assumed Wit Weeks was out, Bernard Gooden
- 19:04Speaker 2: was out, like you know, questionable, but I'm just going
- 19:07Speaker 2: to assume he doesn't play. We'll see, mm hmm. But
- 19:10Speaker 2: for Tyree Adams, though, your left tackle to be out,
- 19:13Speaker 2: and again your backup center, backup guard is kicking out
- 19:17Speaker 2: to left tackle, it's a little surprising that there's not
- 19:22Speaker 2: somebody ready to go. I know you're young at the position,
- 19:26Speaker 2: but look, dj Chester really struggled at left tackle against Vanbilt.
- 19:30Speaker 2: We showed a couple of clips where we thought maybe,
- 19:34Speaker 2: as you said, he was going to get the roughing
- 19:36Speaker 2: the passer on the quarterback, you know what I mean.
- 19:39Speaker 2: And so like that's just that's it's surprising. It's surprised,
- 19:43Speaker 2: to say the least. And I understand, like he's got
- 19:45Speaker 2: a ton of starts in the SEC. It's going to
- 19:47Speaker 2: be a big loud you know, ranked on ranked environment.
- 19:51Speaker 2: I get all of that, but you know, not a
- 19:54Speaker 2: natural position for DJ Chester.
- 19:56Speaker 3: Yeah, and.
- 19:59Speaker 5: I mean you you're talking abo, but you're starting left
- 20:00Speaker 5: tackle dan at you know that it's not like they
- 20:03Speaker 5: just made this plan up recently though that was This
- 20:07Speaker 5: has to have been a plan that was practice talked
- 20:10Speaker 5: about a lot, because coaches and coaches staffs they have
- 20:14Speaker 5: a plan in place for every scenario of injury on
- 20:19Speaker 5: the offensive line, because injuries on the offensive line happen
- 20:22Speaker 5: a lot. They happened every single game. Whether it's an
- 20:26Speaker 5: injury that takes you out for the game or an
- 20:27Speaker 5: injury that takes you out for a couple of plays
- 20:29Speaker 5: or a series. There's always they have a situation, they
- 20:31Speaker 5: have a scenario.
- 20:32Speaker 3: So I mean, at some.
- 20:33Speaker 5: Point we do have to sit there and trust what
- 20:36Speaker 5: the coaches, the plan that the coaches have developed.
- 20:39Speaker 2: Now, can I say that DJ Chester was.
- 20:42Speaker 5: Practicing left tackle reps last week in practice? No, he
- 20:46Speaker 5: probably wasn't, because, like I said, backups, I going to
- 20:49Speaker 5: play another different positions. But at some point he was
- 20:53Speaker 5: taking reps as a left tackle or right tackle, and
- 20:56Speaker 5: they're like, okay, I see something. They're right, I see
- 20:59Speaker 5: what's happen now when you're playing left tackle like playing tackles.
- 21:02Speaker 5: I mean, obviously this is probably a dumb statement, but
- 21:05Speaker 5: I'm just gonna say it because I have to write
- 21:07Speaker 5: playing left tackle is completely different than playing guard or center.
- 21:11Speaker 5: From a footwork standpoint, from a stance, it's a completely
- 21:14Speaker 5: different position.
- 21:15Speaker 2: From a being protected by others around you.
- 21:17Speaker 5: Yeah, like you are out there, so like if you're
- 21:20Speaker 5: not working on that that kickstep, that left foot back
- 21:24Speaker 5: stance in practice leading up, it's tough to just go
- 21:27Speaker 5: out there and do it when the game's on the line,
- 21:30Speaker 5: do it in mid game when you got a defense
- 21:33Speaker 5: that is like literally eating and feeling themselves, right.
- 21:37Speaker 3: Yeah, So it's tough to do that.
- 21:38Speaker 5: So with the week of practice, you have to trust
- 21:41Speaker 5: the scenario of what the coaches have seen in the spring,
- 21:45Speaker 5: what they've seen last year, what they've seen in training camp, practice,
- 21:49Speaker 5: whatever it is, that they're putting the best guy out
- 21:51Speaker 5: there now. They haven't once said that he's an incredible
- 21:55Speaker 5: left tackle to us. They're telling us he's the best
- 21:57Speaker 5: one they got to play that position. They're saying he's
- 22:02Speaker 5: might not be the best one we got it left tackle,
- 22:04Speaker 5: but he's but he's almost the best one we got.
- 22:09Speaker 5: But he gives us the best five across with him
- 22:11Speaker 5: being at that spot, is what they're trying to tell us.
- 22:15Speaker 2: Yes, for sure, they're not just throwing him out there
- 22:17Speaker 2: because he's a nice guy, which maybe is maybe I
- 22:20Speaker 2: don't know, but I think more of my concern is
- 22:24Speaker 2: is somebody else isn't ready to go at that position,
- 22:27Speaker 2: somebody in And this isn't two thousand and five where
- 22:33Speaker 2: almost every freshman red shirts, right, like freshmen have to
- 22:36Speaker 2: be ready to play, like as soon as they almost
- 22:38Speaker 2: get to campus now, which.
- 22:39Speaker 5: Yeah, I mean at that point it becomes like an
- 22:41Speaker 5: indictment on the recruiting on what you brought in and
- 22:43Speaker 5: what you didn't bring in, or our development or maybe
- 22:47Speaker 5: goes out there and absolutely crushes.
- 22:49Speaker 3: It, locks it down and we're like, whoa, well, yeah,
- 22:51Speaker 3: they knew.
- 22:52Speaker 2: He just needed a week of practice.
- 22:54Speaker 5: Needed a week of practice, Bud, you gotta work on
- 22:55Speaker 5: a kickstep, Okay, ooh, fair.
- 22:58Speaker 2: Enough that that that's that's a calls for concern for me.
- 23:03Speaker 2: It's going to be the position I probably I hustled.
- 23:05Speaker 5: So you're it calls for concern from you just because
- 23:09Speaker 5: because you're I got it.
- 23:11Speaker 3: I get that.
- 23:11Speaker 5: But the point you're trying to make is your concern
- 23:14Speaker 5: is there's not enough talent in the room.
- 23:16Speaker 2: Well, it's not even like I don't know the talent
- 23:19Speaker 2: because it's it's your backup center having to go like
- 23:24Speaker 2: is it talent? Is it development? Like? What is it? Like?
- 23:27Speaker 2: That's my question is because you obviously have other tackles
- 23:31Speaker 2: on this team. You've I mean even some of your
- 23:33Speaker 2: guards have played tackle in college football, right. I just
- 23:37Speaker 2: it's got to go way up, Like the production has
- 23:39Speaker 2: to go way up at that position.
- 23:40Speaker 5: I think to say we got to recruit better or
- 23:43Speaker 5: we have to coach better.
- 23:44Speaker 2: I don't know, that's what I'm saying, because we don't
- 23:46Speaker 2: know because we're you're kicking your center out there, yep.
- 23:48Speaker 2: So like that's that's the thing that we don't know.
- 23:50Speaker 2: We don't know where those players are at. And I
- 23:55Speaker 2: saw the way it went last week with DJ Chester
- 23:58Speaker 2: at left tackle, right.
- 24:02Speaker 5: I thought it was very polarizing. The comment that Brian
- 24:08Speaker 5: Kelly made this week when we were I think he
- 24:10Speaker 5: was asked about like former players coming out in public
- 24:14Speaker 5: and things saying like that we're not physical enough, physical enough,
- 24:17Speaker 5: specifically offensive line.
- 24:19Speaker 3: Now.
- 24:19Speaker 5: I can't put that all all on the offensive line.
- 24:22Speaker 5: It's the tibbnness in which they're having to play with
- 24:24Speaker 5: a lot of the RPO stuff.
- 24:25Speaker 2: M that's certainly part of it.
- 24:27Speaker 5: Now they have to step up and when it's time
- 24:29Speaker 5: to go, they got to go right. They got to
- 24:30Speaker 5: stick their nose in there on the goal line. They
- 24:32Speaker 5: got to be better in that aspect. But polarizing kind
- 24:35Speaker 5: of a comment saying when he said, like we got
- 24:39Speaker 5: that's the best, the best fave we got out there,
- 24:42Speaker 5: so it's got to be better. So basically saying like
- 24:46Speaker 5: there might be some sort of either developmental or talent
- 24:50Speaker 5: you know, deficiency.
- 24:51Speaker 2: Okay, Well, when we come back, I want to have
- 24:54Speaker 2: a conversation with if you have a position that you
- 24:58Speaker 2: know might go through some trials and tribulations, what do
- 25:03Speaker 2: you do to try to mask that position? And we'll
- 25:06Speaker 2: talk about that, but before we do, Louisiana roots local

- 25:48Speaker 2: Maybe you need to you'll try to game plan. I
- 25:51Speaker 2: don't want to say around the position, but you need

- 28:56Speaker 2: even you know all these names, Oh yeah, for sure.

- 29:39Speaker 5: of those names. Well, let's it out.

- 29:46Speaker 2: Yeah, okay, Well you get a jersey jersey like Nick,
- 29:51Speaker 2: Papa Georgio, put a dollar, put a dollar in win
- 29:53Speaker 2: a car, you know, put one hundred dollars and I
- 29:55Speaker 2: went to Jersey. So check those out again. Pro dash
- 29:58Speaker 2: Dreams dot Com is the website, all right, Flynn. We
- 30:01Speaker 2: talked about the left tackle situation for LSU. We've look,
- 30:07Speaker 2: I've been on teams, You've been on teams I'm about
- 30:10Speaker 2: at the highest level professional football where you've had a
- 30:12Speaker 2: guy that's maybe playing out of position a little bit.
- 30:15Speaker 2: Maybe you were, and Matt said it yesterday. I think
- 30:17Speaker 2: it was maybe your swing guard has to play tackle
- 30:20Speaker 2: because you're all your beat the hell and you signed somebody,
- 30:23Speaker 2: but you can't get ready in a week, and so
- 30:24Speaker 2: like you're trying to protect that player. Now that does
- 30:28Speaker 2: not mean seven man protection. What would you do if
- 30:32Speaker 2: you had somebody? And we're talking passing game more than
- 30:35Speaker 2: anything right now, because I think the run game, actually
- 30:37Speaker 2: the run blocking it wasn't bad, like for certainly for
- 30:40Speaker 2: what it's been this year to what it was, I
- 30:43Speaker 2: would say without even looking at it, it's probably the
- 30:46Speaker 2: highest graded run blocking game you've had. I mean pretty close.
- 30:52Speaker 2: I'll look it up during during some of the commercials here.
- 30:56Speaker 2: But passing game, what would you do if you had
- 30:58Speaker 2: somebody you were trying to I hate saying hide, but
- 31:02Speaker 2: you're trying to help out in the game.
- 31:03Speaker 5: Yeah, Well, so there's a lot of things that you
- 31:06Speaker 5: can do from a protection standpoint, There's there's tons of
- 31:09Speaker 5: things you can do, from from chipping to thumping to
- 31:14Speaker 5: not chipping. Is like a chip with a running back
- 31:16Speaker 5: of thump as a chip with a tied end.
- 31:19Speaker 3: You can slide protection.
- 31:20Speaker 5: But at the end of the day, like you can't
- 31:22Speaker 5: hide a person like an entire game, but you can
- 31:26Speaker 5: certainly take different pass adjustments, pass protection calls. Uh, you
- 31:32Speaker 5: can take those out of the game plan. Like if
- 31:35Speaker 5: you have a left tackle, you can take out the
- 31:37Speaker 5: game plan a four man slide right with four man
- 31:39Speaker 5: slide would be guard center, guard tackle, slide and right,
- 31:42Speaker 5: and you're leaving your left tackle isolated.
- 31:44Speaker 3: You can take that out of the playbook.
- 31:47Speaker 5: You can take You can do as many things as
- 31:50Speaker 5: you can to slide left. You can do a lot
- 31:54Speaker 5: of dual protections.
- 31:59Speaker 3: Down the shout exactly.
- 32:02Speaker 5: But the thing you have to do is you can't
- 32:08Speaker 5: what's the word I'm looking for here, You can't. You
- 32:10Speaker 5: can't do the same thing. You can't do the same
- 32:12Speaker 5: thing over and over. You have to be very versatile. So, yeah,
- 32:15Speaker 5: you want, you want to go out there, and if
- 32:18Speaker 5: you're gonna get in a situation, like I said, you
- 32:19Speaker 5: can't hide him forever. So it's at multiple points in
- 32:22Speaker 5: the game. Left tackle's got to go in there and
- 32:24Speaker 5: win a one on one block. Yeah, you have to.
- 32:26Speaker 5: Now you don't have to stone him, you don't have
- 32:29Speaker 5: to pancake him, but you have to get him moving
- 32:31Speaker 5: in a direction that lets the quarterback be able to
- 32:34Speaker 5: slide either over the top of them or underneath them.
- 32:37Speaker 5: And as a quarterback, you do also have to be
- 32:39Speaker 5: hyper aware of situations and hyper aware of where your
- 32:43Speaker 5: back is at different times.
- 32:45Speaker 3: So you can't do the same thing over and over.
- 32:48Speaker 5: So if you have let's just say eleven personnel and
- 32:50Speaker 5: you lined up in a two by two or a
- 32:51Speaker 5: three by one situation, sometimes we're going to release our back, free,
- 32:55Speaker 5: release them, scat him, even if it's not really a
- 32:57Speaker 5: scab protection. We're just gonna get out. So I got
- 32:59Speaker 5: I have a answer really fast. If something happens. Sometimes
- 33:03Speaker 5: same formation, that back is gonna come over and chip,
- 33:07Speaker 5: and he's gonna he's gonna thump the hell out of
- 33:10Speaker 5: that defensive ends, ribcage and or armpit or wherever it is.
- 33:14Speaker 5: You look for something weak and you hit it. You
- 33:15Speaker 5: hit as hard as you can, and you slow them down.
- 33:19Speaker 5: Sometimes we are going to act like we're gonna chip
- 33:23Speaker 5: with a back, and then after we've chipped them, and
- 33:26Speaker 5: then Betty free releases around them and we come in
- 33:30Speaker 5: hit you with the on in the other ribcage with
- 33:32Speaker 5: a guard Like there's different, Like you want to give
- 33:34Speaker 5: them different looks.
- 33:35Speaker 3: We run a quick game or a quick screen.
- 33:37Speaker 5: I'd love to see a screen that if we call
- 33:39Speaker 5: a screen and just run a screen, a seven RPO
- 33:41Speaker 5: type screen, just throw at them, throw at their kneecaps.
- 33:44Speaker 3: Let's do it. Let's do a five mankind.
- 33:46Speaker 5: I love, I always love games where we had at
- 33:48Speaker 5: least one or two early in the game calls we're
- 33:51Speaker 5: all five linemen through at the defense line of the kneecaps.
- 33:55Speaker 2: Everybody's gonn protect their kneecaps. Yeah, okay.
- 33:57Speaker 5: As soon as you have a three hundred pound throw
- 34:01Speaker 5: his entire three hundred pound body add a kneecap.
- 34:05Speaker 3: It slows you down.
- 34:06Speaker 5: Whether you believe it or not, whether you think it
- 34:09Speaker 5: does a divinse event, it subconsciously slows you down. Right,
- 34:13Speaker 5: give them different looks, make them have to think. Don't
- 34:15Speaker 5: let them pin their ears back and be like, all right,
- 34:17Speaker 5: I got this guy one on one whole time, one
- 34:19Speaker 5: on one the whole time. Hey, how about we line
- 34:21Speaker 5: up a tight end near the sideline and let that
- 34:25Speaker 5: guy think he is one on one, motion the tight
- 34:27Speaker 5: end in and clean his clock.
- 34:29Speaker 2: Yeah, because you can do that. I mean you can
- 34:31Speaker 2: do that in the head, but you can do that.
- 34:34Speaker 2: And then let's say you still want to get out
- 34:36Speaker 2: the tight end into the route. You can you just
- 34:38Speaker 2: absolutely you can run through them and you can just
- 34:40Speaker 2: continue on. And you're going over the middle of the field, right,
- 34:44Speaker 2: I mean you're running a drag. You're just doing it
- 34:46Speaker 2: after you try to stone the dresher for sure.
- 34:49Speaker 5: And how about you run a traditional screenplay to the
- 34:51Speaker 5: running back where he lines up and acts like he's
- 34:53Speaker 5: in past protection and slides out to the left.
- 34:55Speaker 2: How about that?
- 34:56Speaker 3: We know we hadn't seen that.
- 34:57Speaker 5: I don't think, bro, if it's not going to the
- 35:00Speaker 5: wide receiver right now, we ain't run a screen or
- 35:04Speaker 5: if it's not that one where they goes out and
- 35:06Speaker 5: then goes right out of the middle, you.
- 35:10Speaker 2: Know what a hitch route across the entire field.
- 35:14Speaker 3: Though, kind of interest you in that that? So I.
- 35:22Speaker 5: Also I just want to bag the offense. Attack the
- 35:24Speaker 5: middle of the field. Yeah, attack the middle of the field.
- 35:26Speaker 5: I was watching. That's why we had so much success
- 35:28Speaker 5: last year.
- 35:29Speaker 2: Yeah, it felt like last week there was police tape
- 35:31Speaker 2: around the middle of the football field. You couldn't cross
- 35:34Speaker 2: the line.
- 35:34Speaker 5: Let's take the let's take the touchdown pass out of
- 35:37Speaker 5: out of the out of what I'm going tight end
- 35:41Speaker 5: delay because that's like a it's not a trick play,
- 35:43Speaker 5: but it's a design play to go to that tight end.
- 35:46Speaker 5: I'm not going to consider that it over the middle
- 35:48Speaker 5: pass because it wasn't like a normally hitting your back foot.
- 35:51Speaker 5: There was one pass that Aaron Anderson, Oh, I think
- 35:53Speaker 5: a seame route, and then I think that was the
- 35:56Speaker 5: only pass completed and that I looked at the passing
- 35:59Speaker 5: chart from the game. I think it is the only
- 36:00Speaker 5: pass completed over the middle besides like a like a
- 36:02Speaker 5: checkdown or something. I looked at his passing chart from
- 36:05Speaker 5: last year. Of course, it's like too many passes to
- 36:08Speaker 5: like go and number it. There's more passes and touchdowns
- 36:12Speaker 5: completed over the middle of the field, intermediate and deep
- 36:17Speaker 5: part of the middle of the field.
- 36:18Speaker 2: Last year.
- 36:19Speaker 5: That's why you were more successful in the passing game,
- 36:21Speaker 5: because you attacked the middle of a field. I always say,
- 36:24Speaker 5: this is what I learned in the NFL, this is
- 36:26Speaker 5: what I learned in Green Bay when we had like
- 36:28Speaker 5: one of the best offenses in the world. Fastest way
- 36:31Speaker 5: to the end zone is over the middle of the field. Yeah,
- 36:36Speaker 5: sexy to go run inside fades and those work, but
- 36:39Speaker 5: they can't be your bass play play. We keep going
- 36:42Speaker 5: back to all the time, hitch her out from number
- 36:45Speaker 5: one slot, fade from number two, and a stick route
- 36:48Speaker 5: from number three. It seems to be our answer for everything,
- 36:52Speaker 5: and it hasn't worked very many times. So I want
- 36:57Speaker 5: to see a more dynamic passing game. I want to say,
- 37:00Speaker 5: the attack in the middle of the field, that's where
- 37:01Speaker 5: and Aaron Anderson eats.
- 37:04Speaker 2: Yeah, that's where he is so good.
- 37:06Speaker 5: Yeah, it's where he is so dynamic. You're not taking
- 37:08Speaker 5: advantage of his skill set, his football IQ, what he
- 37:12Speaker 5: can do with the ball overs and how he can
- 37:14Speaker 5: find holes in windows and get open. He is a special,
- 37:17Speaker 5: special player and for him not to have an impact
- 37:21Speaker 5: last week it is criminal. It looks like on the
- 37:24Speaker 5: passing chart there was nineteen throws that were five yards
- 37:28Speaker 5: or less, so five yards are less, and some of
- 37:32Speaker 5: them were certainly behind the line of scrimmage, so five
- 37:35Speaker 5: yards or less. There was nineteen and there was only
- 37:38Speaker 5: thirteen that went over five yards on the passing chart.
- 37:44Speaker 5: I mean that's pretty to par for the ck and
- 37:49Speaker 5: in the hashes. So between the hashes of passes that
- 37:53Speaker 5: traveled more than five yards.
- 37:56Speaker 3: On one to Aaron Anderson was completed for a big.
- 37:58Speaker 2: Play, single one single pass because you had one two, three, four, five, six,
- 38:05Speaker 2: five yards or less in between the hashes, only one
- 38:08Speaker 2: beyond five yards between the hashes. I mean, link, coach,
- 38:11Speaker 2: you can look at it.
- 38:11Speaker 3: I don't want to. I don't want it.
- 38:14Speaker 5: So when you okay, when you think about quarterback play
- 38:16Speaker 5: like the okay, so when we are running it seems
- 38:20Speaker 5: like our go to pass routes when we look at
- 38:23Speaker 5: standard just drop back passing concepts, which we didn't There
- 38:27Speaker 5: wasn't a lot of those against Vanderbilt. Just a standard
- 38:29Speaker 5: drop back. I'm gonna read, I got, you know, single
- 38:32Speaker 5: high safety. I'm going to go to my right, two
- 38:35Speaker 5: high safety. I'm going to work to my left. Okay,
- 38:37Speaker 5: this is the cover, this is my number, this is
- 38:38Speaker 5: my alert, this is my one two back to checkdown. Like,
- 38:41Speaker 5: there wasn't a lot of that, And every time we
- 38:43Speaker 5: did do a standard type pass play, it seemed like
- 38:46Speaker 5: everything was outside the hash. Yeah, like I said, a
- 38:49Speaker 5: hitch rute, outside a slot fade, a stick route. Yeah,
- 38:52Speaker 5: that's a decent play. That's a can be a good play,
- 38:55Speaker 5: but it's not your A go to type play doesn't
- 38:58Speaker 5: have answers. Your go to type plays. You always want
- 39:00Speaker 5: answers over the middle of the field. I know you
- 39:03Speaker 5: could say, yeah, checkdowns over the middle of the field.
- 39:06Speaker 2: Yeah, I got you.
- 39:07Speaker 5: It technically is, but like you want to get your
- 39:09Speaker 5: receivers attacking, stressing the linebacker, stressing the safeties, stressing their
- 39:15Speaker 5: assignments on defense.
- 39:17Speaker 3: And when you have a guy like.
- 39:18Speaker 5: Aaron Anderson that understands where he is in a progression,
- 39:22Speaker 5: understands how to get open, and like, I'm not just
- 39:25Speaker 5: making that up. We saw it all last year.
- 39:29Speaker 2: How many I mean, to your point, how many big plays,
- 39:31Speaker 2: how many game changing plays did you have over the
- 39:34Speaker 2: middle of the field last year? I mean, you go
- 39:35Speaker 2: back to the old Miss game and how you won
- 39:37Speaker 2: that game. There was chances you took, like good, high
- 39:41Speaker 2: percentage chances that you took over the middle of the field,
- 39:44Speaker 2: and that's what won you the game. You forced overtime
- 39:45Speaker 2: and you win the game there.
- 39:46Speaker 5: And if you if you have a quarterback that's looking
- 39:48Speaker 5: for his footing, you're not going to get him in
- 39:51Speaker 5: a rhythm. You're not gonna get him confidence by throwing
- 39:53Speaker 5: a one on one fifty to fifty slot fade a
- 39:56Speaker 5: couple of times a game. Yeah, throwing a hitcher out
- 39:58Speaker 5: into quarters to the far far side of the field.
- 40:02Speaker 5: In the NFL, that might work because the hashes are tighter.
- 40:04Speaker 5: It's not as far of a throw. Yeah, it's a
- 40:05Speaker 5: lot college.
- 40:06Speaker 3: It's a long throw.
- 40:07Speaker 2: It's in the air for a long time.
- 40:09Speaker 5: And so like he's making all these catches like okay,
- 40:11Speaker 5: I get a completion. But man, he's got to be
- 40:14Speaker 5: a saying, well that was almost picked. Yeah, that's not
- 40:16Speaker 5: giving you a lot of confidence. Throwing over the middle
- 40:18Speaker 5: of the field is easier throws for the quarterback. Yep,
- 40:20Speaker 5: it's not as far of a throw. You see it
- 40:23Speaker 5: really well, get the ball, stress the middle of the field.
- 40:26Speaker 2: Attack it. You have to do it with A and M.
- 40:29Speaker 5: You have to attack the linebackers assignments, make their safeties,
- 40:32Speaker 5: and linebackers make a play, cover a lot of windows,
- 40:36Speaker 5: and attack the middle field.
- 40:37Speaker 3: That's how you're gonna get Garrett. That's my indoor rhythm.
- 40:40Speaker 2: All right. So we will step away more ot B
- 40:43Speaker 2: when we come back here live from pro Dreams in
- 40:46Speaker 2: baton Rouge off the bench.

- 44:35Speaker 2: coming up in our number two, we'll start to get
- 44:38Speaker 2: into some of the Saints bucks. I know that Tampa
- 44:41Speaker 2: Bay Tay has got some bucks stuff that he wants
- 44:45Speaker 2: to get out here, get off his chest a little bit. Yeah,
- 44:47Speaker 2: he does, for sure, Saints fans. This week, Flynn watched
- 44:51Speaker 2: the entire Pelicans game, so he's definitely going to be
- 44:53Speaker 2: on that one.
- 44:54Speaker 3: Saw a couple of giving goes. That's all I know.
- 44:58Speaker 3: That's only play I now.
- 45:01Speaker 2: That's it.
- 45:03Speaker 3: The back door.
- 45:04Speaker 5: I think we had that play man in Church League.
- 45:09Speaker 5: I was teamed Royal Blue your colors.
- 45:14Speaker 2: That makes sense since you dreaming cartoons and can smell colors.
- 45:18Speaker 2: Makes a lot of sense. So Pelicans also lost. You know,
- 45:23Speaker 2: maybe we'll make Jordan hop on here. Jordan's here. Jordan
- 45:25Speaker 2: has a Pelicans podcast that you should check out subscribe
- 45:28Speaker 2: like the whole deal. So maybe we'll give you know,
- 45:30Speaker 2: Jordan like Pelicans ninety not ninety minutes, ninety seconds. Maybe
- 45:34Speaker 2: we'll give Jordan U some time.
- 45:36Speaker 5: Takes first, we got a vettice takes, Yeah.
- 45:38Speaker 2: Because the give and go is that the one you
- 45:42Speaker 2: that's the one you want to use here? The back door,
- 45:46Speaker 2: I don't know what you're talking about there, but Royal
- 45:48Speaker 2: Blue don't know what that is, all right, So we
