A Palestinian prisoner known by the alias Essa says Israeli troops bound him and used a stun gun on him during his detention in Israel. The International Rehabilitation Council for Torture Victims says the close proximity of scars on his body suggests he was shocked repeatedly while tightly restrained. Now 43 years old, Essa was arrested in January 2024 at the Jabalia refugee camp, where he had been staying after losing both feet in an Israeli missile strike on his home.
