- 0:01There's a wonderful prophecy that we can look at in
- 0:05Jeremiah chapter 31 where it says,
- 0:09thus says the Lord, who gives the sun for a light by day,
- 0:13the ordinances of the moon and the stars for a light by night,
- 0:17who disturbs the sea and its waves roar— the Lord of
- 0:21hosts is his name. Verse 36, if those ordinances depart
- 0:26from before me, says the Lord, then the seed
- 0:30of Israel shall also cease from being a nation before me forever.
- 0:37He goes on to say in verse 37, thus says the Lord, if heaven above
- 0:41can be measured and the foundations of the earth searched out
- 0:45beneath, I will also cast off all the seed of Israel for
- 0:49all that they have done, says the Lord. So basically
- 0:53what he's saying here is, if you ever see the sun go
- 0:56away and you don't see the stars in the moon
- 1:00anymore at night, that's when Israel will cease
- 1:04to be a nation. If you're able to measure the foundations
- 1:08of the earth and you can measure the heavens
- 1:11above, if you're able to do that, that's when I will cast
- 1:15off all the seed of Israel. In other words, Israel will be a nation
- 1:20forever and ever and ever.
- 1:23Many kingdoms have risen and fallen,
- 1:27kingdoms that have tried to wipe out Israel and to wipe them off the map.
- 1:32Assyria, Babylon, the Ottoman
- 1:36Empire, Egypt— many
- 1:39of those nations have risen and they have fallen, yet the nation of Israel
- 1:44endures. Why? Because it's prophesied in
- 1:48the Bible. Jerusalem is the everlasting
- 1:51and eternal capital of Israel, and when Jesus returns,
- 1:55He's going to rule and reign not from Paris or New York or
- 1:59Chicago or Seattle or Portland or San Francisco or New York.
- 2:03He's going to rule and reign from Jerusalem,
- 2:07the eternal capital of the nation of Israel.
- 2:11Listen in as we unpack Jeremiah 42 through 44
- 2:15and look at the prophecies about Israel.
- 2:19Welcome to the Daily Audio Torah. Today is October 23rd.
- 2:23Now let's continue our journey reading through the entire Bible in one year.
- 2:28This week we are reading from the Israel Bible for the Old Testament and from
- 2:32the King James for the New Testament.
- 2:36Jeremiah 42:1-44.
- 2:4623. Then all the army officers with Yokanan son of Kareah,
- 2:50Jesaniah son of Hoshaiah, and all the rest of the people,
- 2:53great and small, approached the Navi Jeremiah and said,
- 2:57Grant our plea and pray for us to Hashem your God, for all
- 3:01this remnant, for we remain but a few
- 3:05out of many, as you can see. Let Hashem your God tell us where we
- 3:09should go and what we should do.
- 3:13The prophet Jeremiah answered them, Agreed. I will pray to Hashem
- 3:17your God as you request, and I will tell you whatever response Hashem gives
- 3:21for you. I will withhold nothing from you.
- 3:24Thereupon they said to Jeremiah, Let Hashem be a true and faithful
- 3:28witness against us. We swear that we will do exactly as Hashem
- 3:32your God instructs us through you. Whether it is pleasant or
- 3:36unpleasant, we will obey Hashem our God, to whom we send you,
- 3:40in order that it may go well with us when we obey Hashem our God.
- 3:44After 10 days, the word of Hashem came to Jeremiah.
- 3:48He called Yochanan son of Kareah and all the army officers
- 3:51and the rest of the people, great and small, and said to
- 3:55them, Thus says Hashem, the God of Israel,
- 3:58to whom you sent me to present your supplication before Him:
- 4:02If you remain in this land, I will build you and
- 4:06not overthrow, I will plant you and not uproot,
- 4:10for I regret the punishment I have brought upon you.
- 4:14Do not be afraid of the king of Babylon, whom you fear.
- 4:17Do not be afraid of him, declares Hashem, for I am with you to save
- 4:21you and to rescue you from his hands. I will dispose him
- 4:25to be merciful to you. He shall show you mercy and bring you
- 4:28back to your own land. But if you say, we will not stay
- 4:32in this land, thus disobeying Hashem your God,
- 4:37if you say, no, we will go to the land of Egypt so that we
- 4:41may not see war or hear the sound of the shofar, and so
- 4:45that we may not hunger for bread, there we will stay, then hear
- 4:49the word of Hashem, O remnant of Judah. Thus said
- 4:53the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel, if you turn your faces toward Egypt,
- 4:57and you go and sojourn there. The sword that you fear
- 5:01shall overtake you there in the land of Egypt,
- 5:05and the famine you worry over shall follow you at your
- 5:09heels in Egypt too, and there you shall die.
- 5:12All the men who turn their faces toward Egypt in order to
- 5:16sojourn there shall die by the sword, by famine,
- 5:19and by pestilence. They shall have no surviving remnant
- 5:24of the disaster that I will bring upon them. For thus said the LORD of
- 5:27hosts, the God of Israel: As My anger and wrath
- 5:31were poured out upon the inhabitants of Jerusalem, so will
- 5:35My wrath be poured out on you if you go
- 5:38to Egypt. You shall become an execration of woe,
- 5:42a curse and a mockery, and you shall never again see this place.
- 5:47Hashem has spoken against you, O remnant of Judah. Do not go
- 5:51to Egypt, Know well then, for I warn you this day,
- 5:56that you were deceitful at heart when you sent me to Hashem your
- 6:00God, saying, pray for us to Hashem our God, and whatever Hashem
- 6:03our God may say, just tell us and we will do it. I told
- 6:07you today and you have not obeyed Hashem your God in respect to all
- 6:11that he sent me to tell you. Know well then that you shall die
- 6:15by the sword, by famine, and by pestilence in the
- 6:19place where you want to go and sojourn. When Jeremiah
- 6:23had finished speaking all these words to all the people,
- 6:26all the words Hashem their God, with which Hashem their God had sent
- 6:30him to them, Azariah son of Hoshea and
- 6:34Yokanan son of Kareah and all the arrogant men said to
- 6:38Jeremiah, You are lying! Hashem our God did not send you to
- 6:42say, Don't go to Egypt and sojourn there. It is
- 6:45Baruch son of Neriah who is inciting you against us,
- 6:49so that we will be delivered into the hands of the Chaldeans to be
- 6:52killed or to be exiled to Babylon.
- 6:58So Jochanan son of Kareah and all the army officers and the
- 7:03rest of the people did not obey Hashem's command to remain
- 7:06in the land of Judah. Instead, Jochanan son of Kareah
- 7:10and all the army officers took the entire remnant of Judah,
- 7:14those who had returned from all the countries to which they had been scattered
- 7:19and had sojourned in the land of Judah, men,
- 7:23women, and children, and the daughters of the king and all the
- 7:26people whom Nebuzaradan, the chief of the guards, had left with Gedaliah
- 7:31son of Ahikam son of Shaphan, as well as the prophet
- 7:35Jeremiah and Baruch son of Neriah. And they went to
- 7:38Egypt. They did not obey Hashem. They arrived at Toppenes,
- 7:43and the word of Hashem came to Jeremiah in Toppenes: Get
- 7:47yourself large stones and embed them in mortar in the brick structure
- 7:51at the entrance to Pharaoh's palace in Toppenes, with some Judeans
- 7:55looking on, and say to them, Thus said the Lord of hosts,
- 7:59the God of Israel: I am sending for my servant King Nebuchadnezzar
- 8:03of Babylon, and I will set his throne over these stones which I have
- 8:07embedded. He will spread out his pavilion over them.
- 8:12He will come and attack the land of Egypt, delivering those destined
- 8:16for the plague to the plague, those destined for captivity
- 8:20to captivity, and those destined for the sword to the
- 8:24sword. And I will set fire to the temples of the gods of Egypt.
- 8:28He will burn them down and carry them off. He shall wrap himself up
- 8:33in the land of Egypt as a shepherd wraps himself up in his garment,
- 8:37and he shall depart from there in safety.
- 8:40He shall smash the obelisks of the Temple of the Sun
- 8:43which is in the land of Egypt, and he shall burn down the temples
- 8:47of the gods of Egypt.
- 8:51The word which came to Jeremiah for all the Judeans living
- 8:54in the land of Egypt, living in Migdol,
- 8:57Toppenes, and Noph, and then the land of Pathros.
- 9:02Thus said the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel: You have seen
- 9:06all the disaster that I brought on Jerusalem and on all
- 9:10the towns of Judah. They are a ruin today, and no one
- 9:13inhabits them, on account
- 9:18of the wicked things they did to vex me, going to make offerings in
- 9:21worship of other gods which they had not known Neither
- 9:25they nor you nor your fathers.
- 9:29Yet I persistently sent to you all my servants,
- 9:32the Nevi'im, to say, I beg you not to do this
- 9:37abominable thing which I hate. But they would not listen or give ear
- 9:41to turn back from their wickedness and not make offerings to other gods.
- 9:45So my fierce anger was poured out, and it blazed against
- 9:49the towns of Judah and the streets of Jerusalem, and they became a
- 9:54desolate ruin, as they still are today.
- 9:57And now thus said Hashem, the Lord of Hosts,
- 10:01the God of Israel: Why are you doing such great
- 10:04harm to yourselves, so that every man and woman, child and
- 10:07infant of yours shall be cut off from the midst of Judah,
- 10:11and no remnant shall remain? For you
- 10:15vexed me by your deeds, making offering to other gods in
- 10:19the land of Egypt, where you have come to sojourn, so that you
- 10:23shall be cut off and become a curse and a mockery among all
- 10:27the nations of the earth.
- 10:31Have you forgotten the wicked acts of your forefathers,
- 10:34of the kings of Judah and their wives, and your own wicked acts
- 10:39and those of your wives which were committed in the land of Judah and in
- 10:42the streets of Jerusalem? No one has shown contrition to this
- 10:45day and no one has shown reverence.
- 10:48You have not followed the teaching and the laws that I set before
- 10:52you and before your fathers. Assuredly, thus said the
- 10:56Lord of hosts, the God of Israel, I am going to set my face
- 10:59against you for punishment, to cut off all
- 11:03of Judah. I will take the remnant of Judah who turned their
- 11:07faces toward the land of Egypt to go and sojourn there,
- 11:10and they shall be utterly consumed in the land of Egypt. They shall fall
- 11:14by the sword, they shall be consumed by famine,
- 11:18great and small alike shall die by the sword and
- 11:22by famine, and they shall become an execration and desolation,
- 11:26a curse and a mockery. I will punish those
- 11:29who live in the land of Egypt as I punish Jerusalem, with the sword,
- 11:33with famine, and with pestilence. Of the remnant
- 11:36of Judah who came to sojourn here in the land of Egypt,
- 11:40No survivors or fugitives shall be left to return to the land
- 11:44of Judah. Though they all long to return
- 11:48and dwell there, none shall return except a few
- 11:52survivors. Thereupon they answered Jeremiah,
- 11:56all the men who knew that their wives made
- 12:00offerings to other gods, and all the women present,
- 12:03a large gathering, and all the people who lived in Pathros in
- 12:07the land of Egypt. We will not listen to you in
- 12:11the matter about which you spoke to us in the name of
- 12:14Hashem. On the contrary, we will do everything that
- 12:18we have vowed, to make offerings to the Queen of Heaven and to
- 12:22pour libations to her, as we used to do, we and
- 12:26our forefathers, our kings and our officials, in the towns of
- 12:30Judah and the streets of Jerusalem. For then we had plenty
- 12:34to eat, we were well off and suffered no misfortune.
- 12:39But ever since we stopped making offerings to
- 12:42the Queen of Heaven and pouring libations to her,
- 12:46we have lacked everything and we have been consumed by the
- 12:50sword and by famine. And when we make offerings to the
- 12:54Queen of Heaven and pour libations to her, is it without our
- 12:58husband's approval that we have made cakes in her likeness
- 13:02and pour libations to her? Jeremiah replied to all the
- 13:06people, men and women alike, all the people
- 13:10who argued with him. He said, indeed, the offerings
- 13:14you presented to the towns of Judah and
- 13:18the streets of Jerusalem— you, your fathers, your kings,
- 13:21your officials, and the people of the land— were remembered by
- 13:25Hashem and brought to mind. When Hashem could no longer hear
- 13:29your evil practices and and the abominations you committed,
- 13:33your land became a desolate ruin and a curse without inhabitant,
- 13:37as is still the case. Because you burned
- 13:41incense and sinned against Hashem and did not obey Hashem,
- 13:46and because you did not follow His teaching, His laws, and His exhortations,
- 13:51therefore this disaster has befallen you,
- 13:55as is still the case.
- 14:042 Timothy 2:1-21.
- 14:13You therefore, my son, be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus.
- 14:18And the things that you have heard of me among many witnesses,
- 14:21the same commit you to faithful men who shall be able to teach others
- 14:25also. You therefore endure hardness, as a good soldier of
- 14:30Christ Jesus. No man that wars entangles himself with
- 14:34the affairs of this life, that he may please him who has chosen him to
- 14:38be a soldier. And if a man also strive for masteries,
- 14:42yet is he not crowned, except he strive lawfully.
- 14:46The husbandman that labors must be first partaker
- 14:50of the fruits. Consider what I say, and the Lord give you understanding
- 14:54in all things. Remember that Jesus Christ of the seed of
- 14:57David was raised from the dead according to my gospel,
- 15:01wherein I suffer trouble as an evildoer,
- 15:04even unto bonds, but the word of God is not bound.
- 15:08Therefore I endure all things for the elect's sake,
- 15:12that they may also obtain the salvation which is in Christ Jesus
- 15:17with eternal glory. It is a faithful saying,
- 15:20for if we be dead with him, we shall also live with Him.
- 15:24If we suffer, we shall also reign with Him. If we deny Him,
- 15:28He will also deny us. If we believe not,
- 15:32yet He abides faithful. He cannot deny Himself.
- 15:37Of these things put them in remembrance, charging them before
- 15:41the Lord, that they strive not about words to no profit,
- 15:45but to the subverting of the hearers. Study to show yourself approved
- 15:50unto God, a workman that needs not to be ashamed,
- 15:54rightly dividing the word of truth. But shun
- 15:57profane and vain babblings, for they will increase unto
- 16:01more ungodliness, and their word will eat as does
- 16:05a canker. Of whom is Hymenaeus and Philetus,
- 16:10who concerning the truth have erred, saying that the resurrection
- 16:14is past already, and overthrow the faith of the same.
- 16:18Nevertheless, the foundation of God stands sure,
- 16:22having this seal: The Lord knows them that are his.
- 16:26And let everyone that names the name of Christ depart
- 16:31from iniquity. But in a great house there are not
- 16:35only vessels of gold and of silver, but also of wood
- 16:39and of earth, and some to honor and some to dishonor.
- 16:43If a man therefore purge himself from these, he shall be a vessel
- 16:46unto honor, sanctified, and meet for the Master's use,
- 16:50and prepared unto every good work.
- 16:59Psalm 92:1-93:5.
- 17:04It is a good thing to give thanks unto the Lord, and to sing praises
- 17:08unto his name. O Most High, to show forth Your lovingkindness
- 17:12in the morning and Your faithfulness every night, upon an
- 17:16instrument of 10 strings and upon the psaltery, upon the harp
- 17:20with a solemn sound. For You, Lord, have made me glad through
- 17:24my work. I will triumph in the works of
- 17:28Your hands. O Lord, how great are Your works, and Your thoughts
- 17:32are very deep! A brutish man knows not, neither does a fool understand
- 17:37this. When the wicked spring as the grass, and when all the workers of iniquity
- 17:41do flourish, it is that they shall be destroyed forever.
- 17:45But You, Lord, are Most High forever.
- 17:48For lo, Your enemies, O Lord, for lo, Your enemies shall
- 17:52all perish. All the workers of iniquity shall be
- 17:56scattered. But my horn shall You exalt like the horn
- 18:01of a unicorn. I shall be anointed with fresh oil.
- 18:05My eye also shall see my desire on my enemies,
- 18:09and my ears shall hear my desire of the wicked that rise up
- 18:13against me. The righteous shall flourish like the palm tree, he shall
- 18:17grow like a cedar in Lebanon.
- 18:20Those that he planted in the house of the Lord shall flourish in the courts
- 18:24of our God. They shall still bring forth fruit in old
- 18:28age. They shall be fat, and flourishing.
- 18:32To show that the Lord is upright, He is my rock, and there
- 18:35is no unrighteousness in Him. The Lord
- 18:39reigns. He is clothed with majesty. The Lord
- 18:43is clothed with strength, wherewith He has girded Himself.
- 18:46The world also is established, that it cannot be moved.
- 18:51Your throne is established of old. You are from everlasting.
- 18:55The floods have lifted up, O Lord. The floods have lifted up their voice.
- 18:59The floods lift up their waves. The Lord on high
- 19:03is mightier than the noise of many waters,
- 19:06yes, than the mighty waves of the sea. Your testimonies
- 19:11are very sure; holiness becomes Your house, O Lord,
- 19:15forever.
- 19:19Proverbs 26:3-5. A whip
- 19:23for the horse, a bridle for the donkey, and a rod
- 19:26for the fool's back. Answer not a fool according to his
- 19:30folly, lest you also be like unto him. Answer a fool
- 19:34according to his folly, lest he be wise in
- 19:39his own conceit. I want to speak to
- 19:42you today from our reading that we did in Jeremiah chapter 42 through 44,
- 19:48and I want to kind of put things in context and give you
- 19:51a broad principle before we get into the details.
- 19:55And the broad principle is this, that there are many,
- 19:59many, many scriptures that talk about
- 20:03the exile, the scattering of the Jews,
- 20:07and then more scriptures that talk about
- 20:11the ingathering and the return of the Jews.
- 20:14So if you use a tool like blueletterbible.org,
- 20:18and in the search box you type in the word scatter, you will find dozens
- 20:23of scriptures found in Ezekiel and Isaiah and
- 20:26Joel and throughout the prophets about how God is
- 20:30going to scatter the Jews because of their sin
- 20:34and their idolatry, because they turned away from the living God of
- 20:38Israel to worship other gods, false gods.
- 20:42But that He promises over and over again that though they've
- 20:45been scattered to all the nations of the earth, that he will one day
- 20:49regather them. So with that background,
- 20:54Jeremiah is speaking to the nation of Israel,
- 20:57and Babylon has come in and invaded,
- 21:02and there's a remnant, a small remnant of
- 21:06Jews who are still being allowed to stay in Jerusalem.
- 21:10And these are the poorest of the poor. They don't own anything, and they
- 21:14were allowed to stay. The rest were either killed or taken away into
- 21:18captivity to Babylon. Now I'm gonna back up to chapter 41
- 21:22of Jeremiah, and in verse 2
- 21:25it says, then Ishmael son of Nethaniah and the 10
- 21:29men who were with him arose and struck down Gedaliah
- 21:33son of Ahikam, son of Shaphan, with the sword and killed him
- 21:37because the king of Babylon had put him in charge of
- 21:41the land. So the Israel Bible commentary
- 21:45to this verse reads as follows: Gedaliah, son of
- 21:48Ahikam, is appointed by the Babylonians as the governor
- 21:52of Judah after the destruction of Jerusalem.
- 21:55A small band of Jewish fanatics led by Ishmael, the son
- 21:59of Nethaniah, take advantage of Gedaliah's hospitality
- 22:03and they assassinate him on Rosh Hashanah, the Jewish
- 22:07New Year, also known as Feast of Trumpets. As a result,
- 22:12because of this very traumatic triggering event,
- 22:16the few Jews who were still remaining in Israel flee
- 22:19to Egypt to avoid the vengeance of the Babylonian
- 22:23army, ridding the Holy Land of a Jewish presence for the remainder
- 22:28of the Babylonian exile. The death of the last Jewish leader
- 22:32in Israel marked the end of the first Israelite commonwealth.
- 22:36Since then, for over 2,000 years, Jews have
- 22:40fasted in commemoration of Gedaliah's death on
- 22:44the day after Rosh Hashanah to remind them how hatred
- 22:48and zealousness cost them their sovereignty in the Land
- 22:52of Israel. Rabbi Abraham Isaac Kook taught
- 22:56that since Jerusalem was destroyed on account of hatred and factionalism,
- 23:01it is through love and kindness that the Jews
- 23:04will return to the land and the Beit HaMikdash, the temple,
- 23:08will be rebuilt. So the triggering
- 23:12event of why the Jews left Israel and
- 23:16went to Egypt is that this man Gedaliah was murdered.
- 23:20So now let's jump into chapter 42,
- 23:25verse 2. The prophet Jeremiah said,
- 23:28grant our plea and pray for us to Hashem your God for all
- 23:31this remnant where we remain but a few out
- 23:36of many, as you can see. So the Jews who are there,
- 23:40who are the small remnant that are still in Jerusalem,
- 23:43are approaching Jeremiah and saying, would you please beseech
- 23:46the Lord? Please go to Him on our behalf. We are very few in
- 23:50number, and whatever He says that we should do,
- 23:53we will do it. And so the Israel Bible Commentary to that
- 23:58verse reads as follows. The people, in panic over the upcoming invasion
- 24:01from Babylon, turn to the prophet Jeremiah and ask him to
- 24:05pray for guidance. Jeremiah counsels them against going down to
- 24:09Egypt. However, in their final act of disobedience
- 24:13against God, they do flee to Egypt,
- 24:15forcefully taking Jeremiah with them. Their statement
- 24:20that they were once many but now have become few represents an
- 24:24undoing of the divine promises.
- 24:27Deuteronomy describes how God took a few people made
- 24:31them many and brought them from Egypt to the land of Israel.
- 24:35Now they leave Israel and go back to Egypt,
- 24:39few instead of many. It's a divine
- 24:42reversal, a painful reminder of the damage caused
- 24:46by refusing to listen to the Word of God.
- 24:56And now I want to jump into chapter 43
- 25:00and look at verse 10. And it says— oh,
- 25:04so God is telling Jeremiah
- 25:08to, to do a prophetic action, and the action is representative
- 25:12of a spiritual truth. And what he tells Jeremiah
- 25:16to do, he says, get yourself large stones and embed
- 25:20them in the mortar in the brick structure at the entrance to Pharaoh's
- 25:24palace in Tappaniz, with some Judeans looking on. That was
- 25:27verse 9. Here's verse 10. And say to them,
- 25:31thus said the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel, I am sending
- 25:34for my servant King Nebuchadnezzar of Babylon,
- 25:37and I will set his throne over these stones which I
- 25:41have embedded, and he will spread out his pavilion over
- 25:46them. The Israel Bible Commentary to this verse reads as follows.
- 25:51Jeremiah is commanded to embed giant stones into
- 25:54the mortar in front of Pharaoh's palace in Egypt while men
- 25:57from Judah look on. This final symbolic act was performed
- 26:02with the hopes that the Jews who had fled to Egypt would
- 26:06regret their actions and return to Israel. The prophet
- 26:09declares that the gates of Egypt will not provide them protection
- 26:14as the Babylonians will conquer Egypt as well. The only
- 26:18protection they can rely on is a return to Hashem's
- 26:21will and the land of Israel, or they too
- 26:25will be captured and destroyed. God's dominion,
- 26:28while concentrated in the Holy Land, extends everywhere.
- 26:32They cannot flee from His bidding.
- 26:39And now, as I close,
- 26:43We did see the ingathering of the Jews on May
- 26:4714th, 1948, and the nation of Israel was
- 26:50reborn after the Jews had been scattered to all the nations
- 26:54of the earth, to Europe, to Africa, to Asia,
- 26:57to North America. Finally, in May of 1948,
- 27:02the nation, the land of Israel was reborn, and it became
- 27:06the homeland, permanent homeland of the Jewish people.
- 27:10And as I record this, historic things have
- 27:14been happening. Trump traveled first to Israel
- 27:19to greet the returning hostages,
- 27:22the 20 living hostages that came home
- 27:26on Monday. And then the next day, he flew on to
- 27:30Egypt to sign papers of
- 27:34a ceasefire. The end of the war between Israel and Hamas.
- 27:38And what he did was really brilliant because
- 27:42he built a coalition. It took time. Him and his team built a
- 27:46coalition of support from all the Arab nations
- 27:49surrounding Israel. Support from Egypt, support from Jordan,
- 27:53support from Qatar, support from Turkey,
- 27:56support from Saudi Arabia. Basically, they are all tired
- 28:01of this bloody, bloody war and they want it to come to an end.
- 28:05And he's basically turned the tide of public
- 28:08opinion in favor of this peace agreement so that
- 28:12they can get on with trade and commerce and tourism
- 28:17and to end the war. And so now Hamas,
- 28:21they have returned the hostages. That was phase 1 of the plan.
- 28:24But phase 2 is that Hamas has to agree to lay down
- 28:29their arms, lay down their weapons, become demilitarized
- 28:33and they have to leave. They're going to go into exile. They must leave the
- 28:37Gaza Strip. And time will tell whether or
- 28:41not they agree to or follow up with phase 2 of
- 28:45the plan. But at long last,
- 28:49the hostages are home. And there's much rejoicing
- 28:53in the streets of Israel, in the streets of Jerusalem and Tel Aviv.
- 28:57At Hostage Square, there's much relief and
- 29:01much joy and rejoicing and celebration.
- 29:05So Israel is a nation once again. And if
- 29:10you ever see the sun shining— stop shining in the sky,
- 29:14if you ever see the stars not shine anymore
- 29:17in the night sky, that's when Israel will cease to be
- 29:22a nation. Many, many nations have tried to vanquish
- 29:26and obliterate and annihilate the nation of Israel.
- 29:31The Turks have tried it, the Ottoman Empire, Saudi Arabia,
- 29:36Assyria, Babylon, all these nations have risen
- 29:39and fallen, but the nation of Israel will
- 29:43remain forever and ever and
- 29:46ever. So we live at a pivotal time And
- 29:51the centerpiece of God's prophetic time clock is Israel.
- 29:55Keep your eyes on Israel. Keep your eyes
- 29:59on Jerusalem. Have a blessed day, and we'll see you
- 30:03tomorrow. Shalom.
