- 0:02Speaker 1: Hello, Hello, Hello, and welcome back to another episode of
- 0:05Speaker 1: Kicking It with Kiki, Life, Love and all that other stuff.
- 0:07Speaker 1: I am your host, Kiki Schanel, Award winning author, lifestyle
- 0:11Speaker 1: blogger and owner of nineteen lifestyle magazine. I am here
- 0:15Speaker 1: with a very special guest today. I have been following
- 0:18Speaker 1: him on social media for a while now, so to
- 0:21Speaker 1: have him here is a truly a delight. But you
- 0:24Speaker 1: guys know how I like to do. I like to
- 0:27Speaker 1: give my guest the opportunity to introduce themselves, so I
- 0:30Speaker 1: am going to turn it over to him. So, Bishop,
- 0:34Speaker 1: thank you for coming and kicking with me today. Tell
- 0:36Speaker 1: the people who you are.
- 0:37Speaker 2: Oh listen, I'm kicking it with Kiki, so listen. I'm amazing.
- 0:42Speaker 2: I feel amazing. Number one. I am so glad to
- 0:45Speaker 2: be with you today. Thank you for having me, Bishop Kevin.
- 0:47Speaker 2: For me, they call me the People's Bishop because I
- 0:51Speaker 2: love the people that I'm connected to. I genuinely want
- 0:54Speaker 2: to see people get results in their life.
- 0:56Speaker 3: I think the gospel now, I think the gospel.
- 0:59Speaker 2: Is good news and the good news is the bad
- 1:01Speaker 2: news is wrong. So for me, it's about a three
- 1:03Speaker 2: hundred and sixty transformation. Every area of people's lives, not
- 1:07Speaker 2: just faith, but finances, fitness, family, future, etc. So to me,
- 1:11Speaker 2: that's what I'm all about. So everything I do, the
- 1:13Speaker 2: underpinning of it is about changing lives. So that that's
- 1:16Speaker 2: being an author, It's about writing books to change lives.
- 1:19Speaker 2: A philanthropist. It's about using money in a constructive way
- 1:22Speaker 2: to change lives. An entrepreneur, business owner, it's about using
- 1:25Speaker 2: my for profit businesses and companies that I acquire to
- 1:29Speaker 2: change lives, create jobs, create economic impact. If it's just
- 1:33Speaker 2: a pastor, it's about building a church that's multicultural, multi generational.
- 1:37Speaker 3: That's about changing lives.
- 1:38Speaker 2: Everything I do, the underpinning is about changing lives. And
- 1:42Speaker 2: so to me, if it doesn't change lives, I can't
- 1:44Speaker 2: get with it.
- 1:46Speaker 1: I love that. Listen and when you were saying all
- 1:49Speaker 1: those things, I was like, that is like for nineteen magazine,
- 1:52Speaker 1: my magazine. Everything that you talked about, the fitness, finances, faith,
- 1:55Speaker 1: all of those things, that is the overall purpose of.
- 1:58Speaker 3: The bad Come on, Wow, it's all.
- 2:01Speaker 1: About lifestyle changes for the better.
- 2:04Speaker 3: Yes, yes, and that's the name of again.
- 2:06Speaker 1: I want to get into the people's bishop Like why
- 2:10Speaker 1: that phrase? Yeah, where did it come? From and why
- 2:13Speaker 1: did you, well, how did you know that that was
- 2:16Speaker 1: a part of your purpose?
- 2:17Speaker 3: You know, such a good question.
- 2:18Speaker 2: So the joke is this, I came out of my
- 2:20Speaker 2: mom's room with the Bible on a briefcase, like I
- 2:22Speaker 2: came out like this affinity towards spiritual things and this
- 2:25Speaker 2: affinity towards business and entrepreneurialism, being industrious.
- 2:30Speaker 3: And you know, some people see those two.
- 2:31Speaker 2: Things as separate, like if you're going to be you know, spiritually,
- 2:33Speaker 2: you can't be successful. You gonna be successful, can't be spiritual.
- 2:35Speaker 2: And that's not true. In the scripture. We see scriptures
- 2:38Speaker 2: like Revelation five ten. I made you kings and priests
- 2:40Speaker 2: that spiritual and successful and one man or one woman,
- 2:43Speaker 2: two realms. And it actually comes from this guy in
- 2:46Speaker 2: the scripture named Melchesdek. He was king of Salem and
- 2:49Speaker 2: high priest. He was both, and interestingly enough, just for
- 2:52Speaker 2: those that like to get into the nets and bolts
- 2:53Speaker 2: of it, that's the priesthood that Jesus lineage is of.
- 2:56Speaker 2: So all of us should embrace the concept of I
- 3:00Speaker 2: can do both.
- 3:01Speaker 3: It's not either or, it's both.
- 3:02Speaker 2: And so when it comes to that, I've always thought
- 3:05Speaker 2: that way, and so in ministry that the whole monarker
- 3:09Speaker 2: the people's bishop.
- 3:10Speaker 3: It was really from the people. The people said.
- 3:13Speaker 2: I mean, we see pastors, and there's tons of pastors,
- 3:15Speaker 2: and I don't knock anybody for what they do. But
- 3:17Speaker 2: I've discovered that some people love crowds, but they don't
- 3:20Speaker 2: really like people.
- 3:22Speaker 3: They love crowds, but they can't really stand people.
- 3:25Speaker 2: Man, I'm different. I love people. My whole life has
- 3:27Speaker 2: been spent polling into people. You know, when I was
- 3:29Speaker 2: a kid, I would be you know, I was just different.
- 3:32Speaker 2: So I like was the student council president and I
- 3:35Speaker 2: would like walk around with an authorize of cabinet secretaries
- 3:39Speaker 2: at middle school, checking on here, you're good, You're good,
- 3:41Speaker 2: everything all right, y'all good, y'all needself what's going on?
- 3:43Speaker 3: Yeh prom? And then I go to the principal's office
- 3:45Speaker 3: with my team. Yeah, we need to beat with the principal.
- 3:47Speaker 3: We got some things you need to address.
- 3:48Speaker 2: Like, you know, I just was different, and so I've
- 3:51Speaker 2: always looked out for people. And I think it's because
- 3:53Speaker 2: growing up I have an amazing mother, he's my biggest
- 3:57Speaker 2: fan to this day.
- 3:58Speaker 3: But my stepfather, he was an abuse her.
- 4:00Speaker 2: He was a physically abusive to her, mentally abusive, verbally abusive.
- 4:03Speaker 2: He was a womanizer, cheater, like all of the things
- 4:06Speaker 2: you look at and say like, don't do that. He
- 4:08Speaker 2: was that man in many ways. And sometimes God will
- 4:11Speaker 2: give you the gift of what not to be. He'll
- 4:13Speaker 2: show you what not to do. And that's what, in
- 4:17Speaker 2: many ways his life was to me. So that made
- 4:20Speaker 2: me very protective and very paternal over my brother and sister,
- 4:24Speaker 2: very protective and even paternal with my mother. So I
- 4:26Speaker 2: was never asked to do that. There was just something
- 4:28Speaker 2: in me that was like rose up as a protector.
- 4:30Speaker 2: And I think that really has just transcended through all
- 4:33Speaker 2: of my life. For everything I do, no matter if
- 4:35Speaker 2: it was the for profit side or the ministry side,
- 4:38Speaker 2: all of it was always about let's care for people.
- 4:41Speaker 3: So that's where it came from.
- 4:43Speaker 1: I love that. I love that. And I was reading
- 4:47Speaker 1: something that was sent over by your team, and you
- 4:52Speaker 1: have this quote that says we don't work to make
- 4:55Speaker 1: a living, but rather live to make a giving But
- 5:00Speaker 1: I love that because I'm all about giving back. And
- 5:03Speaker 1: I don't like crowds, but I love people. A lot
- 5:05Speaker 1: of people don't think that I'm as friendly as I
- 5:07Speaker 1: am because everybody can't see that side of you because
- 5:11Speaker 1: they could take that as weakness and that you are
- 5:14Speaker 1: easily to finessed if you will. But let's talk about that.
- 5:18Speaker 1: That's saying that you have.
- 5:20Speaker 2: Yeah, it's you know, it's really the it's the manta
- 5:25Speaker 2: of my life.
- 5:26Speaker 3: Like I believe that.
- 5:27Speaker 2: And I saw, you know again going back to my mother,
- 5:31Speaker 2: saw uh, and see my mom sees an amazing give
- 5:35Speaker 2: and I would see her give and do things for people,
- 5:38Speaker 2: and I'd.
- 5:39Speaker 3: Be like, we probably need to not be doing that,
- 5:41Speaker 3: like you know right now. But but I watched how she.
- 5:44Speaker 2: Would be blessed as resolved that. And then I saw
- 5:46Speaker 2: the principle, and I saw the principle work for me,
- 5:48Speaker 2: Like our increase comes from what we released. It's not
- 5:51Speaker 2: leaving your life, it's leaving your hand. It goes to
- 5:55Speaker 2: your future to prepare something greater for you. So, you know,
- 5:58Speaker 2: a lot people said, well you shouldn't give to get, Well,
- 6:00Speaker 2: I mean that that that's actually not a biblical principle
- 6:03Speaker 2: to not give to get. Literally, it says Luke six
- 6:05Speaker 2: to eight, give and it shall be given back to you.
- 6:07Speaker 2: So you should give to get, but the getting isn't
- 6:10Speaker 2: the main focus. The giving is the main focus. And
- 6:13Speaker 2: then you create a life where you're never in lack
- 6:15Speaker 2: because you've always you've always released. You create a lack
- 6:18Speaker 2: where you're a life where you're always in abundance because
- 6:21Speaker 2: you've always released. And so to me, that principle is
- 6:24Speaker 2: so true because when I look at the things that
- 6:26Speaker 2: we've been able to give, and I've been able to
- 6:28Speaker 2: give through over throughout the years, I look at the
- 6:31Speaker 2: lives that were impacted. But then I can always see
- 6:34Speaker 2: how that thing continues to pour back into me. One
- 6:37Speaker 2: quick example, I lost. Now it's like one hundred and
- 6:40Speaker 2: twenty total pounds that I've lost, but originally it was
- 6:43Speaker 2: like ninety five in the first three months, and then
- 6:45Speaker 2: like twenty pounds after that. And so naturally, you know,
- 6:49Speaker 2: you can't fit your old clothes. So I said, what
- 6:51Speaker 2: am I going to do with all these party meers? Like, okay, well,
- 6:54Speaker 2: I'm not going to have all this stuff tailor. That's
- 6:56Speaker 2: just going to be crazy. I mean, you know, suits
- 6:58Speaker 2: and stuff that I've been building up for years. So
- 7:00Speaker 2: I said, okay, and no joke. I was driving down
- 7:02Speaker 2: the street when we were still in Denver. I was
- 7:05Speaker 2: just recently relocated and moved our headquarters here to Atlanta.
- 7:07Speaker 2: But we were in Denver and I was driving down
- 7:10Speaker 2: the street and I said, okay, well, maybe you know,
- 7:11Speaker 2: put this stuff on consignment or something like this is
- 7:13Speaker 2: a lot of codes I've been building the Ward world
- 7:15Speaker 2: for years, like this is nice stuff. And I literally
- 7:18Speaker 2: heard said give it all away. So you know what
- 7:21Speaker 2: we did. I gave it all away. We did it
- 7:23Speaker 2: was around Thanksgiving time, and we did something called Thanksgiving
- 7:26Speaker 2: throw Down, and we bust in a lot of men,
- 7:29Speaker 2: young men that were in transition, whether it was just
- 7:32Speaker 2: life transition or transition out of prison or jail or
- 7:35Speaker 2: whatever it might be. We're in transition. We bust them in.
- 7:39Speaker 2: We fed them, and then we literally it wasn't just me.
- 7:43Speaker 2: I invited everybody to join me, and I said, listen,
- 7:45Speaker 2: we're going to give them good stuff.
- 7:47Speaker 3: Just because they're in transition doesn't.
- 7:49Speaker 2: Mean that they deserve less than and it doesn't mean
- 7:52Speaker 2: that they are people that are less than. They're just
- 7:54Speaker 2: in transition, and everybody is going to have times of
- 7:57Speaker 2: transition in life. It just may not look the same.
- 8:00Speaker 2: I had the privilege of putting the suit. Many men
- 8:03Speaker 2: have never wore a suit. Fifty sixty seventy year old
- 8:05Speaker 2: man never had a suit on, didn't know how to
- 8:08Speaker 2: tie a tie. So I turned into after church that day,
- 8:11Speaker 2: I turned into like the stylust. I was say, no,
- 8:13Speaker 2: let's get you with this one. I got putting the
- 8:14Speaker 2: suits on them, getting suited, get them booted. Because I
- 8:16Speaker 2: had to give away all my shoes all look like.
- 8:18Speaker 3: I give her everything.
- 8:19Speaker 2: I literally started over from scratch with one suit, one
- 8:24Speaker 2: pair of jeans, and one shirt, and a few pairs
- 8:27Speaker 2: of shoes. Because I didn't realize how much fat are
- 8:29Speaker 2: feet carries. I had to give away a lot of
- 8:30Speaker 2: shoes too. And I look at that and to this day,
- 8:34Speaker 2: that was twenty thirteen, it's twenty twenty five. At the
- 8:37Speaker 2: time you and I are having this conversation, I have
- 8:40Speaker 2: not bought one article of clothing in that time. You
- 8:43Speaker 2: know why, because from that day that I released brands,
- 8:46Speaker 2: people I have never met companies send me stuff, nice stuff
- 8:50Speaker 2: and say where it is for us, And so I
- 8:53Speaker 2: have not had to in twelve years buy an arms
- 8:56Speaker 2: of clothing because that one act of release work. I
- 9:01Speaker 2: don't make a living from working I make a living
- 9:05Speaker 2: from giving, and we make our living from giving, and
- 9:08Speaker 2: so that principle is exactly what I've seen play out
- 9:10Speaker 2: in my life. So I've seen it work too many
- 9:13Speaker 2: times to believe anything different.
- 9:15Speaker 1: I love that. I love that, and that was a
- 9:17Speaker 1: word for me. That was something that I needed to
- 9:19Speaker 1: hear because I'm a giver and I've always felt like
- 9:22Speaker 1: I've been taken for granted or taken advantage of, and
- 9:25Speaker 1: so it makes me want to put up this wall.
- 9:27Speaker 1: But every time I try to go back in my
- 9:29Speaker 1: little bubble, God said, no, that is not who I
- 9:31Speaker 1: called you to be. So you can't go into bubble.
- 9:33Speaker 1: Your light is too bright and people need you in
- 9:36Speaker 1: this world. So thank you for like, yes, it's like confirmation. Yes.
- 9:42Speaker 3: But you know what, I got to say that too.
- 9:44Speaker 2: I can relate to that because since I've always been
- 9:47Speaker 2: that where I used to think the same thing.
- 9:48Speaker 3: I said, these people are taking advantage of me.
- 9:50Speaker 2: And even with the cold, I was like, God, you know,
- 9:52Speaker 2: I just gonna give everything away. And I had to
- 9:53Speaker 2: spend all this money, and here's what I learned. No
- 9:56Speaker 2: one can ever take advantage of us. That's a scripture.
- 9:59Speaker 2: If he's in success says that knowing that whatever good
- 10:02Speaker 2: anyone does, he will receive the same from the Lord.
- 10:04Speaker 2: Now here's the point. No one has the power to
- 10:07Speaker 2: take advantage of us. At best, they get a seed
- 10:10Speaker 2: from us. And if it's a seed, that means I
- 10:13Speaker 2: got a harvest on the way.
- 10:14Speaker 3: Here's the other thing. But I was says we reap.
- 10:16Speaker 2: What we sow. It never says we reap where we
- 10:20Speaker 2: sold it from. So I've learned I may sew it
- 10:23Speaker 2: in relationship A, and I will reap it in relationship ze.
- 10:26Speaker 2: I may sew it in city one, but I may
- 10:29Speaker 2: reap it in city ten. I may sow in one
- 10:31Speaker 2: place but reap it another place. So I learned no
- 10:33Speaker 2: one has the power to take advantage of me. No
- 10:36Speaker 2: one has the power to use me because I'm a
- 10:39Speaker 2: seed sower. So since I live life as a seed sow,
- 10:41Speaker 2: you simply don't have the power to take advantage.
- 10:44Speaker 3: So it makes it so much easier because I used
- 10:46Speaker 3: to be that way.
- 10:46Speaker 2: And listen, I have a PhD in petty, so I
- 10:50Speaker 2: would keep my little list of like wait a minute, Lord,
- 10:53Speaker 2: this one didn't do this, and this one still over
- 10:55Speaker 2: be twenty dollars and this one only a dollar, I
- 10:58Speaker 2: would have my little list. And I start to step
- 11:00Speaker 2: back and say, but the reality is, no one can
- 11:03Speaker 2: take advantage of you. And I say the same thing
- 11:05Speaker 2: to you and everybody watching, because we all have felt
- 11:07Speaker 2: that I'm not doing nothing, but nobody I helped these people,
- 11:10Speaker 2: they don't help me. Back to that, we all have
- 11:12Speaker 2: the stories, But the reality is, what does that say
- 11:14Speaker 2: about you? You're so blessed that even though they thought
- 11:17Speaker 2: they took advantage of you, it really didn't work. You're
- 11:20Speaker 2: so blessed that you were able to give and not lose.
- 11:24Speaker 2: And that's the reality of it. So I know how
- 11:27Speaker 2: you feel because I felt that way. But when I
- 11:28Speaker 2: got that revelation, I look for opportunities.
- 11:31Speaker 3: To be a giver.
- 11:33Speaker 1: You just help me with that revelation like that, that
- 11:35Speaker 1: smoke volumes to me. And it is true because I've
- 11:40Speaker 1: realized that over time that I do. I do. You
- 11:45Speaker 1: know wherever I sow. I do read and it's not
- 11:47Speaker 1: in places that I'm used to or that I think
- 11:50Speaker 1: that I should. Oh yeah, that that is so true.
- 11:53Speaker 1: That is so true.
- 11:54Speaker 2: And they will have strangers to help you. You have
- 11:55Speaker 2: strangers to help you. I not to mean to cut
- 11:58Speaker 2: you off. But I love that because sometimes it's that
- 12:01Speaker 2: one big door swing on small hinges. Sometimes it's that
- 12:04Speaker 2: small hens that's keeping the door from opening for us.
- 12:08Speaker 2: And so when we say God open doors for me instead,
- 12:10Speaker 2: he shows you how to fix your hinges.
- 12:12Speaker 1: M I love that. I love that. Bishop. Listen, you
- 12:20Speaker 1: guys are listening to another episode of Kicking with Kiki.
- 12:24Speaker 1: And if you just didn't hear what Viscious just said,
- 12:28Speaker 1: rewind it, rewind it because he has got those gems today. Yes, yes,
- 12:33Speaker 1: run it back. Okay. So it was all in my
- 12:37Speaker 1: notes about the ninety five pounds, and now you said
- 12:39Speaker 1: it's one hundred and two. So let's talk about the
- 12:42Speaker 1: importance of healthy living, mind, body, and spirit, because I
- 12:46Speaker 1: too went on the journey where I lost over sixty
- 12:49Speaker 1: five pounds. I've gained a little bit back, but I
- 12:53Speaker 1: had it was a lifestyle change, it was a mindset shift.
- 12:56Speaker 1: I had to realize that my body does not digest
- 12:59Speaker 1: certain things more is too painful to and you know
- 13:03Speaker 1: ingest those things. So making a conscious decision to want
- 13:07Speaker 1: better for yourself because we only have one body and
- 13:11Speaker 1: we have to be good to that body. So how
- 13:13Speaker 1: did the fitness journey come about.
- 13:16Speaker 3: Such a great question.
- 13:17Speaker 2: So I had always been you know, some borning Denver,
- 13:20Speaker 2: raised in Memphis, and I say that to say, you know,
- 13:23Speaker 2: in the South, we eat a little different. You know,
- 13:25Speaker 2: we biscuits and corn bread and you.
- 13:27Speaker 1: Know, and all I'm in Louisiana, So I get it.
- 13:29Speaker 2: Okay, you understand, you understand up the street. And so
- 13:33Speaker 2: I was always you know, what do they call it?
- 13:36Speaker 3: You just called stocky, and so I carried it like
- 13:39Speaker 3: a middle linebacker.
- 13:39Speaker 2: So I kind of looked like I played, you know,
- 13:41Speaker 2: played for the Chargers and played for the Falcons or something,
- 13:43Speaker 2: or you know, the Saints played.
- 13:44Speaker 3: You know, I look like a linebacker.
- 13:46Speaker 2: So but I remember one day I said, I want
- 13:50Speaker 2: to live a long, healthy life. And I said, I
- 13:54Speaker 2: don't like the fact that after preaching the two morning
- 13:57Speaker 2: services and getting home I'm tired, and like I'm like, now,
- 14:01Speaker 2: y'all that's my after church slumber.
- 14:03Speaker 3: Like, don't bother me for the next rop.
- 14:04Speaker 2: I said, I should be able to finish preach it
- 14:07Speaker 2: and like go jog and go run and go exercise,
- 14:09Speaker 2: go do like go life is to be lived. And
- 14:12Speaker 2: so I went to a physical and when I went
- 14:15Speaker 2: to my annual physical.
- 14:16Speaker 3: And I'm a big proponent of men take advantage.
- 14:19Speaker 2: Especially now, take advantage of your health care benefits and
- 14:23Speaker 2: and take advantage of them when they're at good prices.
- 14:26Speaker 2: But and so I take advantage of my physical So
- 14:28Speaker 2: I was the type I was different than many men.
- 14:30Speaker 3: I was like, no, every benefit I got, I want
- 14:32Speaker 3: to use it.
- 14:33Speaker 2: I remember one year I went in and they said,
- 14:36Speaker 2: doctor Forman, you know you've got all you know, you
- 14:38Speaker 2: have these different benefits of all. I said, yeah, well
- 14:40Speaker 2: run all these tests and said, well, you don't need them.
- 14:41Speaker 2: I said, do I pay for them? Yes, sir, I said,
- 14:44Speaker 2: well then run every test. They had me doing the
- 14:45Speaker 2: ideology test. I'm sitting there raising my hand. I'm yeah,
- 14:48Speaker 2: I hear to be I hear to beat. I said
- 14:50Speaker 2: every test, y'all can run. Run that thing. And I
- 14:53Speaker 2: went in and they said you are one one click
- 14:56Speaker 2: away from being pre diabetic. And I said, this is
- 15:00Speaker 2: a problem. I said, and this is not acceptable. I said,
- 15:03Speaker 2: I am not going to eat my life away. And
- 15:06Speaker 2: it was a mindset shift. I didn't realize I was
- 15:08Speaker 2: an emotional eater. I was eating because that was the
- 15:11Speaker 2: one thing I could control. I when I was happy,
- 15:13Speaker 2: I hate when I was sad. I hate when I
- 15:14Speaker 2: got a victory. I hate when I was in a valley.
- 15:16Speaker 2: It's the one thing that I can control because again,
- 15:19Speaker 2: coming up in an environment where you've got this I
- 15:22Speaker 2: turner like abuser that you're watching, you can't control him, and.
- 15:27Speaker 3: So you don't know what he's gonna do. You don't
- 15:29Speaker 3: know what drug you own, you don't know what you know.
- 15:30Speaker 3: You don't know. But I can control that. Eat. I
- 15:33Speaker 3: can control that. And so I'd used it as a
- 15:35Speaker 3: coping mechanism.
- 15:36Speaker 2: And so even though I wasn't a morbidly obese, I
- 15:39Speaker 2: was still in a range I shouldn't have been.
- 15:41Speaker 3: So long story storte.
- 15:42Speaker 2: I tried everything slim, slow, slim, fast, protein, power, eat
- 15:46Speaker 2: all the cars you won't don't eat no cars, eat,
- 15:49Speaker 2: do this, drink this juice.
- 15:50Speaker 3: I track it all.
- 15:51Speaker 2: None of it worked, and then I had to remember
- 15:53Speaker 2: the story of my life. And this is I think
- 15:56Speaker 2: for many people. Sometimes what works for other people doesn't
- 15:59Speaker 2: work for you because what worked for them has never
- 16:02Speaker 2: worked for you. You're different, your life is different, your
- 16:06Speaker 2: journey is different, and so sometimes we're so busy trying
- 16:09Speaker 2: to find will work for other people that we just
- 16:11Speaker 2: need to go to the source and just be like, Okay, God,
- 16:15Speaker 2: I ain't never followed anybody else's playbook, and it's worked
- 16:18Speaker 2: for me. You've always had one for me, So what's
- 16:20Speaker 2: the play for me? I literally prayed that. I said, God,
- 16:22Speaker 2: what's the playbook for me? I go home on a
- 16:24Speaker 2: Sundays at the end of the twenty one day Daniel fast,
- 16:27Speaker 2: which is basically fruits investables, and I say, God, you
- 16:30Speaker 2: got to give me a strategy because this pre diabetic
- 16:32Speaker 2: thing is.
- 16:32Speaker 3: That's not acceptable to me.
- 16:33Speaker 2: The next time I see this doctor, I want them
- 16:35Speaker 2: to tell me that I am great. And so he said,
- 16:39Speaker 2: you got to give me a strategy. It gives me
- 16:40Speaker 2: a strategy through this documentary. I can't find a documentary
- 16:43Speaker 2: to this day. It's not on Netflix anymore. People say,
- 16:47Speaker 2: is that this is it? That I have not been
- 16:48Speaker 2: able to find it. I think it was on Netflix
- 16:51Speaker 2: that one day, just for me to see. I changed everything,
- 16:54Speaker 2: stopped eating fast food before intermitted fasting was a thing.
- 16:57Speaker 2: I had stopped eating at six pm, changed all of
- 17:02Speaker 2: my you know, the way I ate diet. I would walk,
- 17:05Speaker 2: you know a few times a week, but that would
- 17:06Speaker 2: only be for you know, a few miles that I
- 17:08Speaker 2: would walk. And that was it, And within three months
- 17:11Speaker 2: I lost the first seventy five pounds. A couple months
- 17:13Speaker 2: after that, and then additional twenty to ninety five and
- 17:16Speaker 2: now it's like one twenty to one twenty five because
- 17:19Speaker 2: I've added in resistance training and so you know, muscle
- 17:22Speaker 2: waste more than fat, so that kind of makes the
- 17:25Speaker 2: number alter a bit. But it was really me just
- 17:28Speaker 2: praying and saying, I need a divine strategy. My whole
- 17:30Speaker 2: life has been a defiance of everybody else's strategy. So
- 17:34Speaker 2: why would I think that now the strategy is going
- 17:36Speaker 2: to work for me? Is me trying to do what
- 17:37Speaker 2: works for everybody else?
- 17:39Speaker 1: Absolutely, I love that you have to you have to
- 17:41Speaker 1: be obedient, and you have to know that that that
- 17:44Speaker 1: that's the boss of God that's telling you to do
- 17:46Speaker 1: certain things. For me, I gave up meat, got it,
- 17:52Speaker 1: got it because it just hurts too much to do it.
- 17:55Speaker 3: Sometimes.
- 17:55Speaker 1: I tried the chicken skin because you.
- 17:57Speaker 3: Know, oh, I understand that, and then I.
- 18:01Speaker 1: Started juicing, and then I had to go and do
- 18:03Speaker 1: inner child work and a lot of people I didn't
- 18:06Speaker 1: understand it until I had to go through it that
- 18:09Speaker 1: sometimes you can have mental blocks that can cause you
- 18:12Speaker 1: to be an emotion or eater, or think a certain way,
- 18:15Speaker 1: or you know, generational curses and things like that, to
- 18:17Speaker 1: say I don't deserve more, or my family didn't do it,
- 18:22Speaker 1: so I'm a part of this gene I mean genealogy,
- 18:25Speaker 1: So why should I want more? Why should I get more?
- 18:28Speaker 1: Or whatever. And it was not until I released those
- 18:32Speaker 1: traditional thoughts and ways that I begin to heal myself
- 18:39Speaker 1: inwardly and outwardly. Yes, Yes, the importance of changing your
- 18:44Speaker 1: mindset about what mama said or what grandmother said, or
- 18:48Speaker 1: we eat this because that's what we just eat, and
- 18:51Speaker 1: I'm gonna cook it this way because that's how I
- 18:53Speaker 1: cook it.
- 18:54Speaker 3: Yep.
- 18:54Speaker 1: And it was funny because when I told my mom,
- 18:56Speaker 1: and my mom was like a great cook, right she couldn't,
- 18:58Speaker 1: you know? And now I see where she said, Hey,
- 19:02Speaker 1: I cook some greens, but I use turkey, or I
- 19:04Speaker 1: cook some greas, and I did you know I'm eating
- 19:09Speaker 1: like this. I want to try this, and just to
- 19:10Speaker 1: hear my family making those chances because of my lifestyle change.
- 19:16Speaker 1: It's a beautiful thing.
- 19:18Speaker 3: Yes, because you're the curse breaker. You're the curse breaker,
- 19:21Speaker 3: you know.
- 19:21Speaker 2: And one of my books sends it, The Fathers is
- 19:23Speaker 2: about that very subject. Is that not just you, but
- 19:27Speaker 2: everybody watching, because if they're connected to you, they got
- 19:30Speaker 2: to have that same vein running through them. You're the
- 19:33Speaker 2: curse breaker. What's a curse? It's an empowerment to film.
- 19:37Speaker 2: It's a generational curse. It's a dysfunctional pattern of behavior
- 19:41Speaker 2: passed down and around. And the thing is is it's
- 19:44Speaker 2: worked on every other generation, so when it gets to you,
- 19:46Speaker 2: it figures it's gonna work on you too until you
- 19:49Speaker 2: do something different that breaks the curse. And that's exactly
- 19:51Speaker 2: what you did. Because for many people they literally eat
- 19:54Speaker 2: themselves into the grave. Yes, you know, sickness, disease, a
- 19:57Speaker 2: lot of that is connected to diet. And so what
- 20:00Speaker 2: you did is exactly what that book is about. Sends
- 20:03Speaker 2: to The Fathers being a curse breaker. The same is
- 20:05Speaker 2: true for my life. I'm the first PhD, I'm the first, uh,
- 20:09Speaker 2: you know, to achieve certain educational accomplishments.
- 20:11Speaker 3: I'm the first pastor. I'm the first bishop, which.
- 20:13Speaker 2: Is just basically a pastor to pastors for those.
- 20:15Speaker 3: Unfamiliar with that.
- 20:17Speaker 2: First to achieve certain levels of economic accomplishment and achievement
- 20:21Speaker 2: and what have you.
- 20:21Speaker 3: You name it.
- 20:22Speaker 2: And I don't say that in an arrogant way or
- 20:24Speaker 2: in a self aggrandizing way.
- 20:26Speaker 3: I said, in the way that's what curse breakers do.
- 20:29Speaker 2: We blaze the trail and then everybody else comes and
- 20:31Speaker 2: gets on that trail.
- 20:33Speaker 1: Right. Yeah, that's absolutely true, and I'm loving it, Like
- 20:36Speaker 1: because my siblings and all were all about, you know,
- 20:39Speaker 1: living our healthiest because our family line on both sides
- 20:44Speaker 1: heart disease, diabetes, cancer and things like that, and we
- 20:48Speaker 1: was like, not us, We're not doing that. That's it.
- 20:52Speaker 1: And I think that you have to have that mentality
- 20:56Speaker 1: to get through things in life because adversity will come. Yes,
- 21:00Speaker 1: my husband still cook meat and eat me and sometimes
- 21:05Speaker 1: that's good, right, But I was like, you know what,
- 21:09Speaker 1: he is not going to be beneficial and you just
- 21:12Speaker 1: cannot set yourself back. So it's a constant battle to
- 21:15Speaker 1: have that lifestyle change so that you are living to
- 21:18Speaker 1: the best of your ability, so that you can preserve yourself, mind, body,
- 21:23Speaker 1: and spirit.
- 21:24Speaker 2: Absolutely absolutely yeah, And I love what you said because
- 21:27Speaker 2: I think it's it's recognizing it's a choice, and we're
- 21:31Speaker 2: all one choice away from a different life. Choices decide destiny.
- 21:36Speaker 2: A lot of people say, what's my destiny? What's my destiny?
- 21:38Speaker 2: It's your choices, Your choices decide your destiny. I can
- 21:41Speaker 2: tell you where you're going based on what you decide.
- 21:45Speaker 1: Wow, choices decide your destiny. I love that I'm writing
- 21:49Speaker 1: that down because that so to anyone who is listening
- 21:55Speaker 1: that won't to start that healthy lifestyle change. What would
- 22:00Speaker 1: you what advice are some words of encouragement would you
- 22:03Speaker 1: give to them so that they can know that they
- 22:05Speaker 1: can do it?
- 22:06Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 22:06Speaker 2: You know what I would say number one? And this
- 22:08Speaker 2: is probably gonna sound pretty extreme, but it's true. You
- 22:11Speaker 2: will never change what you love, So you have to
- 22:17Speaker 2: hate the old version of life and the old version
- 22:20Speaker 2: of you. When I say hate, I do such a
- 22:21Speaker 2: strong word. Straight just means hate, just me strong aversion
- 22:26Speaker 2: to it just means I don't want that anymore. When
- 22:29Speaker 2: my doctor said you are one click away from being
- 22:33Speaker 2: pre diabetic, I was like, yo, Mama, No, I was like,
- 22:38Speaker 2: I said, not me and not praying, prophesying, laying hands
- 22:43Speaker 2: on people, doing all these have all these accomplishments and
- 22:46Speaker 2: God is not me pre diabetic?
- 22:49Speaker 3: Like what is this? You know? Well, you could change it.
- 22:53Speaker 3: You just you're gonna have to, you know, have to
- 22:54Speaker 3: lose someone, you know. You don't know that.
- 22:56Speaker 2: And so I immediately began to say, I do not
- 22:59Speaker 2: like this version of myself in its current form, so
- 23:05Speaker 2: I have to change it. And I think for many people,
- 23:08Speaker 2: you will never You will never change what you tolerate.
- 23:13Speaker 2: You will never change what you love. So you have
- 23:16Speaker 2: to say this is no like you just said about
- 23:18Speaker 2: you and your symblings, not us. You have to say,
- 23:20Speaker 2: this is not going to be my life. And literally,
- 23:23Speaker 2: when I made that decision, I was open to being
- 23:27Speaker 2: able to receive. Sometimes there's answers that God holds, and
- 23:31Speaker 2: he holds the answer not because he's being vindictive or spiteful,
- 23:35Speaker 2: but because you're not actually ready to receive the answer.
- 23:37Speaker 2: The answer be right in front of your face, and
- 23:39Speaker 2: you won't even use They couldn't be that. It couldn't
- 23:42Speaker 2: be that. You know, and you heard that story of
- 23:44Speaker 2: the gentleman and where he's you know, the city's flooded,
- 23:48Speaker 2: he's on his roof the water's rising, and you know,
- 23:52Speaker 2: a boat case. He says, Lord please save me. A
- 23:54Speaker 2: boat comes, he says, no, I wait on God. A
- 23:57Speaker 2: helicopter comes, You're off the ladder. Nope, I'm waiting on God.
- 24:00Speaker 2: Water keeps rising. He eventually dies, and the man says,
- 24:02Speaker 2: but he gets in front of God.
- 24:04Speaker 1: God.
- 24:04Speaker 3: I bade it to you. I prayed to you. I
- 24:07Speaker 3: asked you to say. Man, you did nothing.
- 24:08Speaker 1: He said.
- 24:09Speaker 2: I sent a boat and I sent a helicopter, and
- 24:11Speaker 2: you ignored both the same issue for us. Many times,
- 24:15Speaker 2: there's answers regards says, you're not actually ready for your
- 24:17Speaker 2: answer because you love your present too much. You're not
- 24:21Speaker 2: actually ready for your answer because you love the way
- 24:23Speaker 2: you're doing it. So I had to learn I do
- 24:26Speaker 2: not like that previous version of myself. This has to change.
- 24:29Speaker 2: And when I was in that place, I was open
- 24:32Speaker 2: and ready to do something different. And I did a
- 24:34Speaker 2: cold turkey like that was a Sunday night, and I
- 24:38Speaker 2: was a fast food Let me show you how people was.
- 24:39Speaker 2: I was a fast food coming star. My schedule has
- 24:42Speaker 2: always been full. I travel a lot, I do a lot,
- 24:44Speaker 2: I lead a lot. I have a lot, and it
- 24:46Speaker 2: requires my oversight. And so that was my life. You
- 24:49Speaker 2: named a fast food restaurant. I tell you exactly what
- 24:51Speaker 2: the meal was, you'd say, Burger king, I want the
- 24:53Speaker 2: number six chopping and a half at mail at extra
- 24:56Speaker 2: cheese at onion Friday, and on your rings mixed together
- 24:59Speaker 2: with a coke z you know, because I thought I
- 25:00Speaker 2: was really doing something with the coke zero, right, yeah, yeah.
- 25:03Speaker 2: I was like, oh, I'm going to doing something now,
- 25:05Speaker 2: you know, I mean and so you name it. So
- 25:08Speaker 2: that was my life. I would normally eat, you know,
- 25:10Speaker 2: you eat late and then go to sleep.
- 25:12Speaker 3: You know, you eat the ten thirty eleven thirty.
- 25:14Speaker 2: And then you know, thirty minutes later, an hour later,
- 25:16Speaker 2: you're going to sleep with you know, three thousand calories
- 25:19Speaker 2: on your stomach.
- 25:20Speaker 3: Right.
- 25:21Speaker 2: So I had developed some really bad habits. But that
- 25:24Speaker 2: day Cold Turkey, I got the information. I said, I'm
- 25:27Speaker 2: immediately making changes. It was just that simple. But it's
- 25:30Speaker 2: because I was ready for the answer, because I did
- 25:32Speaker 2: not like what my present was. And sometimes you'll get
- 25:36Speaker 2: sick and tired of being sick and tired, and when
- 25:37Speaker 2: you get there, that's when you're ready to make a change.
- 25:40Speaker 2: So that, to me, that's the first step. If you
- 25:42Speaker 2: kind of okay with it, you're not gonna do nothing
- 25:44Speaker 2: about it. But when you're like, no, this has got
- 25:46Speaker 2: to change now, you're gonna have the first that frustration, it's.
- 25:49Speaker 1: Going to push you forward absolutely. And then when you
- 25:52Speaker 1: get into it, the days that you have to alter
- 25:55Speaker 1: that schedule, you don't feel right, like dang. Because I
- 25:58Speaker 1: started walking to I would walk around the college campus
- 26:01Speaker 1: like five days a week. And the days that it
- 26:03Speaker 1: rained and I was not able to go walking, I
- 26:06Speaker 1: was distraughted. I was like, oh, what am we gonna do?
- 26:07Speaker 1: What am we gonna do? But yeah, so yeah, once
- 26:11Speaker 1: you get into it, it's when you're ready.
- 26:13Speaker 2: It's easy, right, and you just said it right there,
- 26:16Speaker 2: when you're ready. And I think for many people is
- 26:18Speaker 2: there's so many things we say we want, but the
- 26:20Speaker 2: tooth is we're not ready because we're not frustrated with
- 26:23Speaker 2: the current status. But you know what status quote means.
- 26:26Speaker 2: It doesn't just mean keep it as it is status
- 26:28Speaker 2: quot and it's original lat in orgy. It means slow death.
- 26:33Speaker 2: And so as long as you're okay with the status quote,
- 26:35Speaker 2: this is gonna constantly be a decline over time until
- 26:39Speaker 2: you wake up one day and say ooof. And by
- 26:41Speaker 2: most people at the time they're ready to make a change,
- 26:43Speaker 2: it's too late to make here. And so if you're listening,
- 26:46Speaker 2: you got a post that's still a plan.
- 26:47Speaker 3: Make the change.
- 26:49Speaker 1: Make the change absolutely all right. Well, we're gonna wut
- 26:52Speaker 1: into the books real quick because our time is running there.
- 26:55Speaker 1: This has been an amazing conversation. You talked a little
- 26:58Speaker 1: bit about stands of the father, breaking generational curses, and uh,
- 27:06Speaker 1: I must have wrote the word down wrong, but breaking
- 27:09Speaker 1: generation curses, I'll get it part out. But let's talk.
- 27:13Speaker 1: Let's talk about that particular book. Why Why that book?
- 27:18Speaker 2: Yeah, you know, because it's the story of my life
- 27:20Speaker 2: in the sense that I've been a curse break and
- 27:22Speaker 2: didn't know.
- 27:22Speaker 3: I didn't know.
- 27:23Speaker 2: I couldn't give it language until I had language to
- 27:26Speaker 2: give it. But it's what I've always done. The opening
- 27:29Speaker 2: story in that book is actually about my stepfather when
- 27:32Speaker 2: I made reference to for those that ever saw the movie,
- 27:35Speaker 2: What's Love got to do with that? That Ike Turner
- 27:37Speaker 2: person that like I met him with whole in the
- 27:39Speaker 2: sense of that's my stepfather, and so that's what I saw,
- 27:45Speaker 2: and in that it intrigued me because he never met
- 27:49Speaker 2: his biological father, yet he was exactly like that man.
- 27:53Speaker 2: And I said, so this is deeper than just monkey
- 27:56Speaker 2: see monkey do. This is deeper than you become what
- 27:59Speaker 2: you behold. This must be spiritual. And there's even a.
- 28:03Speaker 3: You know, epigenetics.
- 28:04Speaker 2: There's a medical component and psychological component that goes along
- 28:08Speaker 2: with it, but there's a spiritual component that goes along
- 28:10Speaker 2: with it. Because we are spirits, that's who we are.
- 28:12Speaker 2: So everything is spiritual because that's who we are. This
- 28:15Speaker 2: is a body we wear, and this is not us.
- 28:17Speaker 2: And so in that that book goes through the principles
- 28:21Speaker 2: of identifying generational curses, some of the ms. If I
- 28:24Speaker 2: don't believe in that, you don't have to believe in it.
- 28:26Speaker 2: You don't have to believe in gravity. Walk on top
- 28:28Speaker 2: of your building and see what happens when you walk
- 28:30Speaker 2: off right. Your non belief in it doesn't make it untrue.
- 28:35Speaker 2: Your refusal to acknowledge it's real doesn't make it untrue.
- 28:39Speaker 2: And so when you look at generational curses, there's so
- 28:43Speaker 2: many things that are an operation in our lives. And
- 28:45Speaker 2: we could just say, oh, that's just how all the
- 28:47Speaker 2: women in our family are, that's just how all the
- 28:49Speaker 2: men and our family are. Oh, that's just the way
- 28:51Speaker 2: folks who grew up here are. But really it's a
- 28:54Speaker 2: generational curse. And here's how the enemy works with that.
- 28:58Speaker 2: If I got one generation, I can get all of
- 29:01Speaker 2: them because I saw it work. And literally, there's a
- 29:03Speaker 2: scripture numbers fourteen eighteen. It says the sins of the fires,
- 29:06Speaker 2: which just means previous generations, but a visit to the
- 29:10Speaker 2: third and fourth generations, which means everybody listening, you were
- 29:13Speaker 2: dealing with three to four generations of baggage that knocks
- 29:17Speaker 2: at your door, and it's so familiar with your spirit
- 29:21Speaker 2: you don't even think it's wrong until somebody points it out.
- 29:24Speaker 3: You don't even think.
- 29:26Speaker 2: You don't even think it's something that you shouldn't do,
- 29:29Speaker 2: because it is so familiar.
- 29:31Speaker 3: Here's the term familiar spirit.
- 29:33Speaker 2: It is so familiar to you because that thing has
- 29:36Speaker 2: been in your bloodline, It steadied your bloodline. It knows
- 29:39Speaker 2: what you like, it knows what you don't like. It
- 29:40Speaker 2: knows what to put in front of you. It knows
- 29:42Speaker 2: what to tempt you with, It knows when to tempt
- 29:44Speaker 2: you with it. That thing is an anthropologist at a
- 29:48Speaker 2: whole nother level.
- 29:50Speaker 3: And so to be the curse breaker.
- 29:51Speaker 2: Of one, you have to recognize them, and then two
- 29:53Speaker 2: you have to be walked through the process of what
- 29:55Speaker 2: do I do to break these curses? Like poverty, for example,
- 29:58Speaker 2: that is a generational curse. And poverty is not just
- 30:02Speaker 2: the lack of resources. Poverty is of mentality. You can
- 30:04Speaker 2: make a million dollars a year and still be in
- 30:06Speaker 2: poverty because the mentality says I can't do any better
- 30:09Speaker 2: than this.
- 30:10Speaker 3: That's a poverty mentality.
- 30:12Speaker 2: A poverty mentality says I'm stuck right here of this
- 30:14Speaker 2: as far as I can go.
- 30:16Speaker 3: That's a generational curse.
- 30:17Speaker 2: And we were sent to the earth to destroy those,
- 30:21Speaker 2: interrupt those, so that the generations that come after us
- 30:24Speaker 2: don't even know what those are.
- 30:26Speaker 1: Absolutely absolutely, absolutely all right and living.
- 30:33Speaker 3: In fullness every day, living.
- 30:36Speaker 1: In fullness every day. And that's a devotional, like a
- 30:40Speaker 1: spiritual devotion. Let's talk about that.
- 30:43Speaker 2: Yeah, you know that one really was real simple. You know,
- 30:46Speaker 2: some people do daily devotionals, which is good. I worked
- 30:50Speaker 2: that as a weekly devotional so that for one week
- 30:52Speaker 2: you were focused on one thing. I think sometimes the
- 30:55Speaker 2: reason people don't see results is because their focus is scattered,
- 30:59Speaker 2: and scattered focus produces inconsistent results, and so you know,
- 31:05Speaker 2: you can't back to what we're talking about with like
- 31:07Speaker 2: fitness and eating, you can't.
- 31:09Speaker 3: I wanted to create my fitness a lifestyle so that
- 31:13Speaker 3: I wouldn't just have died.
- 31:14Speaker 2: I'm doing for a couple of weeks to try to
- 31:16Speaker 2: send some way and then go back to my normal.
- 31:18Speaker 2: I said, I got to create a lifestyle, so I'm
- 31:20Speaker 2: not going to starve myself. I have to create a
- 31:22Speaker 2: life where this is something I can do every day.
- 31:25Speaker 2: And so I think for many people sometimes they don't
- 31:29Speaker 2: accomplish the results or get the goals achieve they want
- 31:32Speaker 2: to because their focus is so scattered.
- 31:34Speaker 3: So living in fullness every day it's fifty two weeks.
- 31:38Speaker 2: One week, we focus on one thing for that whole
- 31:42Speaker 2: week until you get to the end of the year.
- 31:45Speaker 2: And it's really practical because again, I think the gospel
- 31:48Speaker 2: is good news. I think that the gospel is literally
- 31:50Speaker 2: it means the good news.
- 31:51Speaker 3: To me, the good news is that the bad news
- 31:53Speaker 3: is wrong?
- 31:54Speaker 2: So how do I get that to translate to my
- 31:57Speaker 2: every day life? Again, that's the substraction them of who
- 32:00Speaker 2: I am. I used to sit in church and be like,
- 32:02Speaker 2: what are they talking about you know. I was like, oh,
- 32:05Speaker 2: there's so you know, I hear terms. I'm like, what
- 32:07Speaker 2: does that mean? It's so deep and so becoming a pastor,
- 32:11Speaker 2: I was like, I want to make sure that what
- 32:13Speaker 2: I'm teaching. I don't care if you and Jesus went
- 32:16Speaker 2: to school together or you are three years old.
- 32:18Speaker 3: You get it.
- 32:19Speaker 2: And so to me, that's what it's all about again results,
- 32:23Speaker 2: And that's what living in fullness or living in favor
- 32:25Speaker 2: every day and the fullness every day is all about.
- 32:28Speaker 2: Is it's that devotional which is which is an amazing,
- 32:31Speaker 2: amazing but it's it's done extremely well. Just for many people,
- 32:35Speaker 2: they liked the weekly approach versus one day it is this,
- 32:38Speaker 2: the next day is.
- 32:38Speaker 3: This, the next day is this? And you forgot it?
- 32:40Speaker 3: Like somebody said, what was your Buday devotion? About it?
- 32:44Speaker 1: Yeah?
- 32:44Speaker 3: I don't know it was. It was good, it was good,
- 32:48Speaker 3: but what was it though? You don't even remember? Right?
- 32:51Speaker 1: Right? It sounds good to say it was good and
- 32:54Speaker 1: I don't remember nothing about it.
- 32:55Speaker 3: I don't remember nothing right exactly right.
- 32:59Speaker 1: And then making money moves the area, getting your finances
- 33:06Speaker 1: in honor. I think this one is a mustardy for everybody,
- 33:11Speaker 1: especially in the climate of this society right now.
- 33:15Speaker 2: Oh yes, oh yes, I wrote that book after So
- 33:18Speaker 2: by the time I was twenty one years old, I
- 33:21Speaker 2: had built Denvers simultanous ministry.
- 33:23Speaker 3: From twelve, but I built Denver's largest.
- 33:26Speaker 2: Black owned real estate finance broken to a Mortgan's company
- 33:29Speaker 2: was doing really well. And over the weekend, not just
- 33:33Speaker 2: my company, but the industry collapsed, and I kind of
- 33:36Speaker 2: felt like you were seeing New Jack City with Nino Brown.
- 33:38Speaker 3: I felt like Nino Brown.
- 33:40Speaker 2: I wanted to walk into a meeting with the rock
- 33:43Speaker 2: Wilder and all black and all of my teams sitting
- 33:46Speaker 2: around the table and stab somebody in there, Like I said,
- 33:51Speaker 2: what happened at the entire industry collapse?
- 33:54Speaker 3: It wasn't just our company.
- 33:55Speaker 2: And over the weekend I went from a business that
- 33:59Speaker 2: did more in revenue.
- 34:01Speaker 3: Monthly than most people do in a lifetime to nothing.
- 34:05Speaker 2: And so I just opened a brand new office and
- 34:08Speaker 2: just hired a bunch of new people. And I would
- 34:09Speaker 2: always hire people who were typically disenfranchised marginalized that others
- 34:13Speaker 2: would overlook, to give them an opportunity to show that
- 34:16Speaker 2: you could build a great life and a great business
- 34:18Speaker 2: and a great income and so the industry collapsed, and
- 34:22Speaker 2: so I said, Okay, God, what am I going to do?
- 34:24Speaker 2: Like I'm a faithful giver because I believe we talked
- 34:27Speaker 2: about that, so I'm a faithful tithe I'm afraid, I'm like,
- 34:29Speaker 2: why am I even here?
- 34:31Speaker 3: I am a faithful giver? How did I get here?
- 34:34Speaker 3: Like I should be here?
- 34:35Speaker 2: But sometimes you have to go through a valley so
- 34:37Speaker 2: that you're anointed for future victories. And when you go
- 34:41Speaker 2: through something and annoints you, what's that. It gives you grace,
- 34:45Speaker 2: it gives you favor, it gives you supernatural It's like
- 34:47Speaker 2: a clat goes around you, like you know you have
- 34:50Speaker 2: chicken pots. Once you can't get it again. It's the
- 34:53Speaker 2: same thing. There's some things you go through and I'm
- 34:55Speaker 2: gonna get so much out of that. I can't go
- 34:57Speaker 2: through that again. I'm anointed for that. So I literally
- 35:01Speaker 2: went through that journey and I said, God, if you
- 35:03Speaker 2: showed me how to get out of this, I will
- 35:05Speaker 2: tell everybody how you did it. And that's what that
- 35:07Speaker 2: book is, The Lessons I learned from a peak to
- 35:10Speaker 2: a valley to a much higher peak. It's literally the
- 35:14Speaker 2: story of taking nothing and turn it into something multiple
- 35:17Speaker 2: times because I know how to do that, and so
- 35:21Speaker 2: to everybody watch it, never be afraid to be back
- 35:23Speaker 2: at one. Never be afraid to be back at square
- 35:25Speaker 2: one day, one, relationship, one month, one, whatever. Never be
- 35:29Speaker 2: afraid to be back at one. That book walks you
- 35:32Speaker 2: through it. We talk about business principles, money principles.
- 35:37Speaker 3: I gave my way out.
- 35:38Speaker 2: I talked about how I was an active giver during
- 35:42Speaker 2: that time and to most people that said, well, shouldn't
- 35:44Speaker 2: you have been saving your money? Yeah, that's conventional wisdom.
- 35:46Speaker 2: But conventional wisdom gets you conventional results. I needed supernatural results,
- 35:50Speaker 2: not conventional results. That book, that was the first book
- 35:53Speaker 2: I wrote. I wrote it doing a blizzard in Denver
- 35:56Speaker 2: because every lesson had like a three day blizard couldn't
- 35:59Speaker 2: go anywhere. So I type that book out in three
- 36:01Speaker 2: days and I said, every lesson I learned and we
- 36:03Speaker 2: put it in this book.
- 36:04Speaker 3: And that's what that book is.
- 36:06Speaker 1: I love it. I love it. So how can listeners
- 36:09Speaker 1: get your books? Where are they located?
- 36:11Speaker 3: Amazon?
- 36:12Speaker 2: And then Bishopforman dot com, FRN dot com and there's
- 36:16Speaker 2: tons there's others too. Evolutionaries is in there, unlocking the
- 36:20Speaker 2: new you the newest release, which you break into scoop.
- 36:24Speaker 2: The newest release is called History Makers, and it literally is.
- 36:28Speaker 2: It's not even officially out, but it is live though
- 36:30Speaker 2: on Amazon and our website Bishopforma dot com or Amazon.
- 36:33Speaker 2: But you know, so many great books, and I write
- 36:36Speaker 2: my books for people who love to read, so there's
- 36:39Speaker 2: a lot of meat, and then there's people who like
- 36:42Speaker 2: don't like to read. So they're short, so they're not
- 36:44Speaker 2: extrectly long, but they are full of great content.
- 36:47Speaker 3: So whether you love to read or.
- 36:48Speaker 2: You're like I don't like to read, they're gonna fit
- 36:51Speaker 2: you no matter where you're at and give you the
- 36:53Speaker 2: tools you need. They almost read like checklists, like, Okay,
- 36:57Speaker 2: here's what to do.
- 36:58Speaker 3: I just want to hear a bunch of fluff tell
- 37:00Speaker 3: me what to do, right.
- 37:02Speaker 1: I love it. I love it, And this information would

- 37:27Speaker 2: thank you again for having me too.

- 37:29Speaker 2: Creating conversations like this. A conversation can become a catalyst
- 37:34Speaker 2: that leads to life transformation. One little thing that is said,
- 37:38Speaker 2: and that can be innocuous to you, it can change
- 37:42Speaker 2: somebody's life. I am proof of that one conversation I
- 37:46Speaker 2: had in ten minutes change the whole trajectory of my
- 37:49Speaker 2: life when I was sixteen years old. I'm the people's
- 37:51Speaker 2: bishop today because of one conversation that lasted less than
- 37:55Speaker 2: ten minutes when I was sixteen years old. I say
- 37:58Speaker 2: to you, thank you creating these conversations and giving everybody
- 38:02Speaker 2: an opportunity to hear information that's going to lead to
- 38:06Speaker 2: transformation in their lives. I say to this last thing,
- 38:09Speaker 2: to everybody, if you still got a pulse, there is.
- 38:12Speaker 3: Still a plan. Your best days are not behind you,
- 38:15Speaker 3: They are here, and they are ahead of you.

- 38:20Speaker 1: to another episode of Kicking It with Kiki. I'm back
