- 0:00Speaker 1: Mark Simmo on seventeen whar.
- 0:12Speaker 2: Well thirty five degrees today. It's gonna practice eight wave
- 0:15Speaker 2: here today. Lots to get to this hour. The Savannah
- 0:20Speaker 2: Guthrie story is so sad. Savannah Guthrie's mother lives in Phoenix.
- 0:27Speaker 2: The sister, her sister lives near the mother. Some of
- 0:30Speaker 2: the family lives near the mother. They took her out
- 0:32Speaker 2: to dinner, they brought her home, dropped her off, she
- 0:36Speaker 2: went home. This was Saturday night, and then Sunday mornings
- 0:42Speaker 2: she didn't show up at church, which she always does,
- 0:44Speaker 2: and then neighbor's family everybody got suspicious, went to the
- 0:49Speaker 2: house and checked. She wasn't there No sign of the mother,
- 0:52Speaker 2: who's in her eighties. And the mother's very sharp. No
- 0:57Speaker 2: it's not an Alzheimer's thing or dimension. Mother's a sharp
- 1:00Speaker 2: as can be, but not very mobile. She can't walk
- 1:02Speaker 2: more than really fifty feet, can't really go out on
- 1:06Speaker 2: her own. So they call the police to look for
- 1:09Speaker 2: the mother. The police investigate and it's now believed the
- 1:13Speaker 2: mother was taken from her house because everything was left there.
- 1:18Speaker 2: The mother, their phone was left, her car keys, her keys, everything,
- 1:23Speaker 2: and she has medicine she has to take every day
- 1:26Speaker 2: that keeps her alive. The medicine was there, she didn't
- 1:29Speaker 2: take it with her. Then the police later said they
- 1:32Speaker 2: found some blood on the scene, they found signs of
- 1:34Speaker 2: forced entry. So it's believed somewhere over night Saturday, somebody
- 1:39Speaker 2: went into her house and kidnapped her mother. The Savannah
- 1:42Speaker 2: Guthrie of the Today's Show from NBC of course left
- 1:45Speaker 2: work and has been there with the police trying to
- 1:48Speaker 2: find the mother. They have absolutely no idea what happened.
- 1:52Speaker 2: Horrifying situation. It's all over the news here, so you
- 1:56Speaker 2: can imagine in Phoenix, it's all over the news. I mean,
- 2:00Speaker 2: why would somebody take this woman out of her house?
- 2:04Speaker 2: Possible kidnapping or something like that. But they haven't heard
- 2:06Speaker 2: from any kidnappers. They haven't had any ransom demands. And
- 2:11Speaker 2: that medicine that she needs to stay alive. It's now
- 2:15Speaker 2: like three days. I don't know how long she can
- 2:18Speaker 2: go without that medicine. But very very very sad story.
- 2:23Speaker 2: So you know, you get no taxi cab and there's
- 2:27Speaker 2: that TV screen now and something's always playing on the
- 2:30Speaker 2: TV screen you get in the cab. Sometimes it's a
- 2:32Speaker 2: channel Sartha and Eye witness news. Here's a quick news summary,
- 2:35Speaker 2: and then they give you a little weather or it
- 2:38Speaker 2: could be anything. Sometimes it's a preview for a TV show.
- 2:43Speaker 2: You pay for that. You can buy that. In other words,
- 2:45Speaker 2: when you get in the cab and you see something
- 2:46Speaker 2: on that TV screen, they're paying to be on the
- 2:49Speaker 2: TV screen in every cab, like Channel seven will pay
- 2:51Speaker 2: for that. Anybody can do it. In fact, there's like
- 2:54Speaker 2: an annoying woman, so real annoying Yenta who does this
- 2:58Speaker 2: amateur podcast, who pays to be an every taxicab And
- 3:01Speaker 2: as soon as you get in there, how were you
- 3:03Speaker 2: with that voice? And apparently Newsmax had made a deal
- 3:08Speaker 2: with the taxi cabs to be in there, because Channel
- 3:12Speaker 2: seven did it for a while, but this was Newsmax doing.
- 3:14Speaker 2: Here's a one minute summary and it wasn't anything partisan.
- 3:17Speaker 2: Is a minute summary of the news that day, and
- 3:19Speaker 2: it was very well done. It's Newsmax, it's a good
- 3:21Speaker 2: TV network, So they paid worked out the deal to
- 3:26Speaker 2: be in all the cabs. Well, the Manhattan Borough president
- 3:30Speaker 2: went crazy and wants Newsmax banned from the taxicabs. Now
- 3:35Speaker 2: there's absolutely no reason for that. Again, Newsmax's a perfectly
- 3:38Speaker 2: legitimate TV network, and the thing they put in the
- 3:41Speaker 2: cabs wasn't any kind of partisan political talk. It was
- 3:45Speaker 2: straight news done by a straight anchor person. So it's
- 3:49Speaker 2: absolutely ridiculous. News Max is fighting this, but that's your
- 3:52Speaker 2: typical left wing partisan Manhattan Borough President of New York
- 3:57Speaker 2: City type politics trying to ban them from the cabs. Hey,
- 4:00Speaker 2: nobody objected to Channel seven, and there's nobody more biased
- 4:04Speaker 2: than ABC News. Just watched the Sunday Morning Show if
- 4:07Speaker 2: you want to see. But the double standard unbelievable. In
- 4:12Speaker 2: New York City, the Kennedy Center, President Trump announcing they'll
- 4:17Speaker 2: close it for two years now. Of course, as soon
- 4:20Speaker 2: as he says they're closing the Kennedy Center for two
- 4:23Speaker 2: years to rebuild redo it, the left the news meeting
- 4:28Speaker 2: goes crazy. What kind of crazy Trump thing is this closing?
- 4:31Speaker 2: How dare he even think of? Why this is outrageous?
- 4:35Speaker 2: Let me just give you the facts. This was always
- 4:38Speaker 2: planned long before Donald Trump got there. The Kennedy Center
- 4:41Speaker 2: is totally dilapidated. It's got all kinds of internal problems
- 4:44Speaker 2: in the building. Congress law a while back. This has
- 4:48Speaker 2: nothing to do with Trump. Congress allocated the money to
- 4:52Speaker 2: rebuild the Kennedy Center. It's not a Trump idea. The
- 4:56Speaker 2: government has been planning this for a while. Congress actually
- 4:59Speaker 2: voted the money in a while back before Trump got
- 5:02Speaker 2: there to redo the Kennedy Center. Now you think, well,
- 5:06Speaker 2: they're going to fix up some things inside. Now it
- 5:08Speaker 2: looks like they're gonna have to gut the whole place
- 5:11Speaker 2: and literally take it down to the girders. And because
- 5:14Speaker 2: when asked about it yesterday, uh Trump actually used the phrase,
- 5:18Speaker 2: we said, well, you keep anything the way it is.
- 5:22Speaker 2: He actually used the phrase will we'll keep the steel
- 5:26Speaker 2: and some of the marble marble meaning the floor. Where
- 5:29Speaker 2: he says, well keep the steel, that assumes they're taking
- 5:33Speaker 2: it down to the h the actual girders. So apparently
- 5:37Speaker 2: the building has serious problems. Now when you go in there,
- 5:41Speaker 2: it looks a little dilapidated, it looks old, run down,
- 5:44Speaker 2: and you'd imagine that there's problems in the walls, things
- 5:48Speaker 2: that need to be fixed, the electrical system, the uh
- 5:52Speaker 2: the you know, the stage equipment, the technical stuff. But no,
- 5:56Speaker 2: it turns out it's much more than that. The building
- 5:58Speaker 2: has tremendous mold proproblems. H VAC problems, they're going to
- 6:02Speaker 2: have to cut the whole thing. Now. If you think
- 6:05Speaker 2: this is a bad idea right now, you gotta step
- 6:09Speaker 2: and think how lucky you are. Right now, you know
- 6:11Speaker 2: how lucky you are. Out of all the times this
- 6:13Speaker 2: could have happened with any of the forty seven presidents,
- 6:17Speaker 2: just by incredible luck, the time this is happening, you
- 6:20Speaker 2: got the president who's an absolute expert builder. Can you
- 6:25Speaker 2: imagine Joe Biden trying to build a building, Imagine George W. Bush,
- 6:30Speaker 2: even Obama try to build a building. Well, look at
- 6:32Speaker 2: the Obama Presidential Library in Chicago. Everybody's suing him because
- 6:37Speaker 2: it looks like the most hideous, ugly building ever put up,
- 6:41Speaker 2: and it's an absolute monstrosity. It's already like a hundreds
- 6:45Speaker 2: of millions over budget or a billion over budget. Nobody
- 6:47Speaker 2: can figure out why. But you got Trump doing it,
- 6:50Speaker 2: which means it'll be done at the proper cost, no waste,
- 6:54Speaker 2: no fraud, no bloat. The construction, the technique, the materials,
- 6:58Speaker 2: everything will be absolutely first class. So you couldn't be luckier.
- 7:01Speaker 2: They have one of the finest builders in the world
- 7:04Speaker 2: in office. When you need to rebuild this place, so
- 7:06Speaker 2: it'll take two years. And the other thing is once
- 7:11Speaker 2: it's rebuilt, it could look a lot different. Now it's Trump,
- 7:14Speaker 2: so you hope it's not too you know, too gold shiny, glittery.
- 7:20Speaker 2: You don't want it to mar a LAGOI. That's not
- 7:23Speaker 2: going to look right either. But he'll do a great
- 7:26Speaker 2: job on it. So that's that's about to happen. Hey, Washington,
- 7:30Speaker 2: d C. All the crime statistics coming out, it's incredibly safe.
- 7:35Speaker 2: President Trump sent his National Guard, his troops, is everything
- 7:40Speaker 2: into d C, put Janine Piro in as the district attorney.
- 7:44Speaker 2: They have cleaned up crime in d C. And it
- 7:47Speaker 2: was one of the most dangerous cities in America. Crime
- 7:50Speaker 2: out of control, people afraid to go out. Now it's
- 7:53Speaker 2: one of the safest cities in America. Even the Washington
- 7:57Speaker 2: Post had to admit.
- 7:58Speaker 3: DC is now considered a very safe place and it
- 8:01Speaker 3: should be a sun nation's capital. And we sent in
- 8:04Speaker 3: the soldiers. I read the Washington Post this weekend. It
- 8:06Speaker 3: was incredible. They were trying to determine how come how
- 8:10Speaker 3: did we get so low numbers, the load numbers in
- 8:12Speaker 3: DC because we have very little crime, if any, And
- 8:17Speaker 3: they talked about everything except for the fact that we
- 8:19Speaker 3: put our National Guard and great soldiers inside our city.
- 8:23Speaker 3: They didn't want to mention that.
- 8:25Speaker 2: It's how dishonest, but pretty good, amazing job there cleaning
- 8:30Speaker 2: it up. Hey, you know here in New York City,
- 8:33Speaker 2: Jessica Tish releasing crime numbers for January this past month,
- 8:37Speaker 2: and the number of homicides was down sixty percent. Shooting
- 8:41Speaker 2: incidents were down twenty percent. This is compared to a
- 8:44Speaker 2: year ago at this time. Overall, major crime down seven percent.
- 8:48Speaker 2: In major categories burglary drop thirty percent, retail theft down
- 8:53Speaker 2: sixteen percent, robberies down ten percent. This is for the
- 8:57Speaker 2: month of January. Now you must put a big as
- 9:00Speaker 2: risk on this. It was like ten degrees below zero.
- 9:05Speaker 2: It was freezing cold. Sometimes that it takes care of crime.
- 9:09Speaker 2: It was like so cold, people just weren't out on
- 9:12Speaker 2: the streets. You know. They used to say, was that
- 9:14Speaker 2: old expression, rain is the best policeman. If it was
- 9:17Speaker 2: pouring rain and storming, you wouldn't have any street crime
- 9:19Speaker 2: because everybody would be inside. Now that trash that's piling
- 9:25Speaker 2: up all over New York garbage not being picked up.
- 9:28Speaker 2: There's mountains of garbage ten feet high. There's snow banks
- 9:31Speaker 2: ten feet high. Apparently it was all around Gracy Mansion
- 9:34Speaker 2: as well. But Gracey Mansion residents started yelling and screaming.
- 9:38Speaker 2: So Mom, Donnie got it cleaned up all around Gracy Mansion.
- 9:42Speaker 2: They picked up all the garbage and the snow. So
- 9:46Speaker 2: if you're saying the guy's incompetent, he can't get it done,
- 9:49Speaker 2: he got it done only around his house. But it's
- 9:53Speaker 2: a start, only around his house. Maybe give it a
- 9:56Speaker 2: couple of years, maybe he'll get to your house too.
- 9:59Speaker 2: Billy getting a lot of flack for her rant at
- 10:04Speaker 2: the Grammy Awards. She was yelling and screaming about stolen land.
- 10:07Speaker 2: You can't be free or not. Nobody's legal if you're
- 10:10Speaker 2: on stolen land. What the hell is It's something to
- 10:13Speaker 2: do with the Native Americans, the Indians, the stolen land. Now,
- 10:18Speaker 2: everybody pointing out she has a massive mansion in Los
- 10:22Speaker 2: Angeles to Hollywood Hills with armed guards and gates and fences,
- 10:27Speaker 2: and according to her own theory, it's on stolen land.
- 10:32Speaker 2: In fact, there was once an Indian tribe that had
- 10:34Speaker 2: that land, so it is stolen land. People pointing out
- 10:37Speaker 2: to her that if she's really serious about this. Have
- 10:40Speaker 2: her give the mansion back, or let some Native Americans
- 10:43Speaker 2: move in with her, let it open the gate and
- 10:45Speaker 2: let them use it too. But on the other end,
- 10:47Speaker 2: it's Billy elish. She's like, you know, get the brain
- 10:49Speaker 2: of a twelve year old. Doesn't know what the else
- 10:52Speaker 2: she's talking about. You can't get that monitor. Hey, we're
- 10:55Speaker 2: talking about the economy doing well. Gas price is way down,
- 10:59Speaker 2: except in New York in California where they artificially keeping
- 11:01Speaker 2: them high. But across America gases like two dollars and
- 11:05Speaker 2: thirty cents a gallon, and rents have declined nationwide. Rent decline.
- 11:11Speaker 2: Apartment rents just dropped to the lowest level in four years,
- 11:14Speaker 2: according to the latest statistics. Hey, you know the Epstein files.
- 11:19Speaker 2: There's a lot of people in there. You might not know.
- 11:21Speaker 2: There's a guy at CBS News. He's a contributor, Peter Asher.
- 11:25Speaker 2: He's all through the Epstein files. He's emailing back and
- 11:29Speaker 2: forth and back and forth with Epstein, all about women,
- 11:32Speaker 2: and it gets pretty graphic. He's talking about how would
- 11:38Speaker 2: you put this, He's talking about performing oral sex on
- 11:42Speaker 2: a woman. And in one of the emails, he's joking
- 11:46Speaker 2: around with Epstein, and he says, well, blank is indeed
- 11:52Speaker 2: low carb. I'm not sure if it's gluten free. I
- 11:56Speaker 2: mean disgusting stuff, real childish, stupid, disgusting stuff. This is
- 12:01Speaker 2: a CBS news guy. He put out a statement. Finally,
- 12:05Speaker 2: I'm very ashamed. My crude emails are indefensible. I apologize
- 12:11Speaker 2: and regret putting myself in a position where emails, some
- 12:15Speaker 2: of them embarrassing, tasteless, and indefensible, are now public and
- 12:19Speaker 2: that is on me. I was never on his plane,
- 12:22Speaker 2: never on his island, never present at any sex parties. Yeah,
- 12:29Speaker 2: so this guy actually got a pretty raw deal. He's
- 12:31Speaker 2: busy talking about it. Meantime he's getting invited to nothing.
- 12:34Speaker 2: He wasn't that important actually get invited to anything, he
- 12:37Speaker 2: said at that point in my career. He basically admits
- 12:41Speaker 2: he got starstruck. I had little exposure to prominent people,
- 12:44Speaker 2: and that level of access was novel to me. Everything
- 12:48Speaker 2: about him seemed excessive and exclusive, including the fact that
- 12:52Speaker 2: he lived in the largest home in all of Manhattan,
- 12:55Speaker 2: owned a Boeing seven to twenty seven, hosted parties with
- 12:58Speaker 2: the most powerful and prominent life. Okay, it's not the
- 13:03Speaker 2: biggest mansion in Manhattan. It's on seventy first Street. It
- 13:07Speaker 2: was a school, so it's bigger than the town as
- 13:09Speaker 2: it was an actual private school. It's big, but there's
- 13:12Speaker 2: bigger houses. And yeah, the parties were pretty good. But
- 13:18Speaker 2: you know the one thing about Epstein. When you met Epstein,
- 13:20Speaker 2: he was dressed like the Duke of Windsor, like the
- 13:24Speaker 2: most just like an aristocrat. Unbelievable the way he dressed.
- 13:31Speaker 2: And then he'd open his mouth and he'd say how
- 13:33Speaker 2: are you with that voice, and he would talk like
- 13:35Speaker 2: this and stuff about New York, and he would blow
- 13:38Speaker 2: the whole thing there. But if you were easily impressed,
- 13:41Speaker 2: you could get impressed with him. Hey, we'll take some
- 13:44Speaker 2: calls in a minute. Eight hundred three to two one
- 13:47Speaker 2: zero seven ten is the number. Eight hundred three two
- 13:50Speaker 2: one zero seven ten. Hey give money to Bruce Blakeman.
- 13:54Speaker 2: He should be governor. I'm looking at the numbers here.
- 13:57Speaker 2: Blake was doing well in fundraising, but he's not like
- 13:59Speaker 2: a three four million, but this local is like a
- 14:02Speaker 2: twenty five million. She's been collecting money for years. I
- 14:05Speaker 2: think you go to Blakeman for New York dot com,
- 14:08Speaker 2: but start donating. Start volunteers. She's going to get to
- 14:11Speaker 2: catch up money wise with her. She's been spending a
- 14:13Speaker 2: lot of money too. But you got to get rid
- 14:16Speaker 2: of this, kathyhcal with her. We're going to be a
- 14:18Speaker 2: sanctuary state. She's going to ban ICE. She's going to
- 14:22Speaker 2: do this.
- 14:22Speaker 1: You're not using our local police. I need them to
- 14:25Speaker 1: protect the communities and not have this distrust. And this
- 14:28Speaker 1: is what we're hearing that people are not distinguishing between
- 14:31Speaker 1: local police. And we try so hard here to have
- 14:34Speaker 1: a positive relationship with our communities of trust. And I
- 14:38Speaker 1: want my police going after the murders, the rapists, the
- 14:41Speaker 1: gun traffickers, being availed for emergencies and if they're off
- 14:45Speaker 1: they're being deputized by ICE. One of these agreements that
- 14:48Speaker 1: just a few of our counties are doing, they're being
- 14:51Speaker 1: distracted and I do not want that, and I'm not
- 14:54Speaker 1: going to be supporting that. And we're going to change
- 14:56Speaker 1: the law in the state of New York.
- 14:57Speaker 2: Well, it's a great space. She doesn't know what else
- 14:59Speaker 2: you're talking about. At the Great Speech. Look at Nassau
- 15:01Speaker 2: County where Blakeman made a full agreement to coordinate and
- 15:05Speaker 2: cooperate with ICE in lending them detectives whatever they needed,
- 15:09Speaker 2: jail cells. And you know how many people that got
- 15:11Speaker 2: off the streets of Nassau County, criminals exactly what she's
- 15:15Speaker 2: talking about. Murderers, rapist, dangerous criminals. They ate. ICE got
- 15:19Speaker 2: them all off the streets. And did you ever hear
- 15:22Speaker 2: anything about it. No, because in Nassau County was peaceful,
- 15:24Speaker 2: it was orderly. Cooperate, coordinate with them, and everything's fine.
- 15:30Speaker 2: You know, in many other cities in America, ICE is
- 15:34Speaker 2: running much bigger operations. You know, Minnesota's three thousand. ICE
- 15:39Speaker 2: in Dallas is like forty four thousand, No problem at all.
- 15:42Speaker 2: It's orderly because the locals cooperate, coordinate with them, it's perfect. Hey,
- 15:46Speaker 2: well take some calls next eight hundred three to two
- 15:49Speaker 2: one zero seven ten, isn't them
