- 0:05Speaker 1: Welcome to Just the Cats with Michael Bennett. Hello, Big
- 0:14Speaker 1: Blue Nation. Welcome to Just the Cats. My name is
- 0:17Speaker 1: Michael Bennett on this September 9th. Wednesday. Hope everybody's doing
- 0:23Speaker 1: well out there. If you want to give us a call,
- 0:24Speaker 1: you can do it at 502-384-1450. If you want to
- 0:28Speaker 1: text us on the Whiskey Thief text line, you can
- 0:30Speaker 1: do that at 502-414-1450. Or you can tweet me at
- 0:33Speaker 1: JustTheCatRadio as we're a day closer to Big game day.
- 0:39Speaker 1: And I think the excitement is brewing in Lexington, Kentucky,
- 0:45Speaker 1: as we sit here and talk about UK football, which
- 0:47Speaker 1: we will be doing in just a little bit. But Justin,
- 0:50Speaker 1: how are you doing this morning? I'm a little tired,
- 0:53Speaker 1: but I'm here. Oh, really? Because that seemed to be
- 0:56Speaker 1: the common theme on your show this morning. That I
- 0:59Speaker 1: was tired? Yes. Was it? Am I wrong? Because I
- 1:03Speaker 1: think you're wrong. No, I'm not wrong.
- 1:05Speaker 2: I mean, I just mentioned it up top.
- 1:06Speaker 1: A couple people texted in and said, sorry, you're tired.
- 1:11Speaker 2: One person texted in and said I didn't look tired.
- 1:14Speaker 1: Oh, you didn't? Yeah. Okay. You know why I'm tired?
- 1:18Speaker 1: What was on last night? Yeah, that's a good place
- 1:21Speaker 1: to start. I can't remember what was on last night.
- 1:24Speaker 1: There wasn't anything.
- 1:25Speaker 2: That I know of. Something that was on that I
- 1:27Speaker 2: rarely watch, but man, I could not stop laughing. Housewives
- 1:31Speaker 2: of Miami?
- 1:32Speaker 1: I don't know.
- 1:33Speaker 2: That's a great guess.
- 1:34Speaker 1: Is it really?
- 1:35Speaker 2: No, I was watching the U.S.
- 1:37Speaker 1: Open.
- 1:37Speaker 2: Oh, you were? Carlos Alcaraz and Ben Shelton was freaking awesome.
- 1:42Speaker 2: It didn't start until after 11. It didn't start until
- 1:47Speaker 2: after 11? Yeah, after 11. So I probably didn't go
- 1:51Speaker 2: to bed until closer to 1 last night.
- 1:53Speaker 1: You've got to be kidding me.
- 1:54Speaker 2: I could not stop watching.
- 1:57Speaker 1: Okay.
- 1:58Speaker 2: It was so entertaining. Because Ben Shelton, obviously an American.
- 2:02Speaker 1: Right. U.S.
- 2:03Speaker 2: Opens in New York.
- 2:04Speaker 1: Why obviously? Because it always is. Why obviously he's an American?
- 2:09Speaker 1: That's what I want to know. It's always an American. Yeah,
- 2:12Speaker 1: it's exactly what you said. I mean, his name's Ben Shelton. Okay.
- 2:16Speaker 1: You don't think there's a guy in England named Ben Shelton?
- 2:18Speaker 1: I guess maybe. There has to be. Just because his
- 2:22Speaker 1: name is that.
- 2:23Speaker 2: Michael, this isn't about me being racist, so let's get
- 2:25Speaker 2: all that. It has nothing to do with racism.
- 2:28Speaker 1: Stop.
- 2:29Speaker 2: I'm not anti-European either, for what it's worth. But no,
- 2:33Speaker 2: just hearing the crowd back him, it was just so entertaining,
- 2:37Speaker 2: and I just couldn't stop watching.
- 2:39Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah. My son's one of his best. big buddies
- 2:43Speaker 1: from Tulane his name is a beer a beer you
- 2:47Speaker 1: said it yes sweet just like you're having a beer
- 2:51Speaker 1: to drink a great name it is a great name
- 2:53Speaker 1: but he's from Houston Texas born and raised there and
- 2:56Speaker 1: you you so if you saw his name a beer
- 2:59Speaker 1: would you think that he's not from America in all
- 3:03Speaker 1: likelihood yeah you would i get it but uh no
- 3:06Speaker 1: he's born and raised and he's one of the funniest
- 3:08Speaker 1: guys you'll ever meet in your life i mean that's
- 3:10Speaker 1: the thing now in today's day and age you don't
- 3:12Speaker 1: know you really just don't know no absolutely not but
- 3:16Speaker 1: i mean i bet you're what's the tennis player's name
- 3:18Speaker 1: again ben shelton i bet you there's a guy in
- 3:21Speaker 1: australia with the name ben shelton probably so yes i
- 3:24Speaker 1: mean it it does feel like a common name across
- 3:27Speaker 1: the globe Does it freak you out? Like, there are
- 3:29Speaker 1: actors out there. I'm trying to think of the kid
- 3:33Speaker 1: that was in We Are Millers. You remember the one
- 3:37Speaker 1: that's the redhead? Did you see We Are the Millers?
- 3:40Speaker 2: The one that spider bites?
- 3:42Speaker 1: Exactly. It always freaks me out when their real accent
- 3:48Speaker 1: is something that's not American. You know he's from, he's British.
- 3:52Speaker 1: I didn't know that. I see. I didn't either. Will Poulter.
- 3:55Speaker 1: Is that his name? That's his name. Where is he from?
- 3:59Speaker 2: Let me see if I can do some digging.
- 4:00Speaker 1: Oh, I thought you were looking it up right now. Okay.
- 4:02Speaker 1: I'm sorry.
- 4:03Speaker 2: He is from Hammersmith, London.
- 4:05Speaker 1: Doesn't that freak you out? Because I was watching. There's
- 4:10Speaker 1: a great show that I got completely addicted to called
- 4:15Speaker 1: The Bear. Have you ever seen that show? I've seen
- 4:18Speaker 1: The Bear. Unbelievable show. And you know he's in that show.
- 4:21Speaker 1: And he's talking with his real accent, which is British.
- 4:26Speaker 1: You know, I didn't realize that. Yes. I'll have to
- 4:28Speaker 1: go back and watch. Yeah. And then in We Are
- 4:30Speaker 1: the Millers, he's speaking with an American accent. It just
- 4:34Speaker 1: kind of freaks me out. There are so many actors
- 4:37Speaker 1: out there. There's another one. I can't think of the
- 4:40Speaker 1: guy's name. And he was in Band of Brothers. Only
- 4:43Speaker 1: to find out later, after I've watched Band of Brothers
- 4:47Speaker 1: like 50,000 times, the dude is British. And I'm like,
- 4:52Speaker 1: you're blowing my mind. These guys that can do, that
- 4:56Speaker 1: are really British and have that British accent and then
- 5:01Speaker 1: come out and they do an American type accent. It's
- 5:05Speaker 1: just like amazing to me because I can't do voices.
- 5:08Speaker 1: I've never been able to do voices. I can do voices.
- 5:11Speaker 1: Can you really? Sometimes, yeah. What kind of a voice
- 5:14Speaker 1: can you do?
- 5:16Speaker 2: I don't know that I really want to say these
- 5:18Speaker 2: on air.
- 5:20Speaker 1: Why not?
- 5:21Speaker 2: I'm pretty good at doing a number of voices. Why
- 5:24Speaker 2: can't you say them on air? I mean, I guess
- 5:27Speaker 2: I can't. I don't want people to think a certain
- 5:29Speaker 2: way about me. See, nobody's going to think a certain way.
- 5:32Speaker 2: If they do, that's their fault. All right, Michael, you
- 5:33Speaker 2: bullied me. I do a really good Indian accent.
- 5:36Speaker 1: See, perfect. So does my oldest son. Oh, my gosh.
- 5:41Speaker 1: It makes me laugh. I love it when people do that.
- 5:43Speaker 2: Oh, if I do mine around my mom, yeah, she'll
- 5:46Speaker 2: be on the floor.
- 5:46Speaker 1: Will she really? Oh, she loves it. Yeah, that's the
- 5:48Speaker 1: way I am with my son. And it's just like, oh,
- 5:51Speaker 1: my gosh, how do you do that? And he used
- 5:53Speaker 1: to get in trouble at school. And then he came
- 5:56Speaker 1: out with a Russian accent, and it's like he got
- 5:58Speaker 1: really in trouble. I can't do the Russian. He stopped
- 6:01Speaker 1: the Russian accent. He doesn't even know if he remembers
- 6:04Speaker 1: how to do the Russian accent. I've never been more disappointed.
- 6:07Speaker 1: You know who was really good at accents? It was
- 6:10Speaker 1: Robin Williams. I was getting ready to say it. Robin Williams? Yeah. Yeah.
- 6:14Speaker 1: Because you can get on social media and watch all
- 6:16Speaker 1: kinds of clips of him doing different voices, from a
- 6:19Speaker 1: British accent to a Scottish, Irish, to an Indian accent.
- 6:24Speaker 1: I mean, it's just people have that kind of act. Like,
- 6:26Speaker 1: for an entire movie, he acted like he had, what
- 6:30Speaker 1: was it, a Polish accent? I think the movie was
- 6:33Speaker 1: called Jacob the Liar, where he was in a World
- 6:38Speaker 1: War II prison camp. And he acted the entire time,
- 6:43Speaker 1: speaking English, but speaking in a, there was another movie
- 6:47Speaker 1: too that he had a Russian accent. It's just incredible
- 6:50Speaker 1: how people have that kind of a knack. I mean,
- 6:52Speaker 1: he was the best. Oh, I couldn't agree more. I mean,
- 6:55Speaker 1: he really was.
- 6:56Speaker 2: My final example would be, are you familiar with Millie
- 7:00Speaker 2: Bobby Brown?
- 7:01Speaker 1: I'm not.
- 7:01Speaker 2: So she was in Stranger Things.
- 7:02Speaker 1: I'm familiar with Millie Vanillie.
- 7:05Speaker 2: There you go.
- 7:06Speaker 1: Not quite the same. No.
- 7:07Speaker 2: But Millie Bobby Brown, she was in Stranger Things. And
- 7:10Speaker 2: she's been in a lot of other things as well.
- 7:12Speaker 2: But in Stranger Things, she had zero accent. And I
- 7:16Speaker 2: thought she was American. And then I remember seeing her
- 7:19Speaker 2: on one of the late night talk shows, a snippet
- 7:22Speaker 2: from it. And she was like, it was heavy British accent.
- 7:26Speaker 2: I was like, how is she talking like an American
- 7:28Speaker 2: so perfectly?
- 7:29Speaker 3: And then.
- 7:32Speaker 1: I don't get it. I don't get it. It just
- 7:35Speaker 1: blows my mind when I hear something like that. So
- 7:37Speaker 1: I just, wow, we went totally off on a scroll there.
- 7:40Speaker 1: But I think the big news of the day doesn't
- 7:43Speaker 1: have anything to do with the University of Kentucky. I
- 7:46Speaker 1: think the really big news of the day goes down
- 7:49Speaker 1: to LSU and the battle that LSU is having with
- 7:54Speaker 1: the SEC.
- 7:55Speaker 2: Although, is there going to be a battle?
- 7:57Speaker 1: I don't know, because now there's a bit of breaking news.
- 8:01Speaker 1: LSU is adding Aiden Anding and Gabriel, or Gabriel, sorry,
- 8:07Speaker 1: it could be Gabriel, Relaford to the roster per ESPN sources.
- 8:12Speaker 1: And that caps the 105 players on LSU, which means
- 8:17Speaker 1: that they're going to drop the other two players.
- 8:19Speaker 2: Which means the SEC doesn't have a case anymore.
- 8:22Speaker 1: Correct. Yeah.
- 8:23Speaker 2: Unless they want to. Continue this and go after basketball, potentially,
- 8:27Speaker 2: with the whole R.J. Lewis thing.
- 8:29Speaker 1: And Will Wade. And Will Wade, yeah. Yeah, yeah. Well,
- 8:33Speaker 1: does LSU Lane Kiffin receive a fine? I don't think so.
- 8:39Speaker 1: Because you have a problem with this, don't you? If
- 8:42Speaker 1: LSU would have kept those players on the team, you
- 8:45Speaker 1: have a problem. Absolutely. I don't. They did not play
- 8:49Speaker 1: a single game in the NFL, correct?
- 8:51Speaker 2: No.
- 8:52Speaker 1: You're right. They only went there to their workout facilities
- 8:55Speaker 1: and worked out. And that's all they did. And you
- 8:59Speaker 1: have a problem with that.
- 9:01Speaker 2: Yeah, because you've already made your decision to move on
- 9:04Speaker 2: from college athletics. You don't get a do-over. If I
- 9:07Speaker 2: make a mistake in my life, Michael, let's just say
- 9:10Speaker 2: I leave here tomorrow and I find another job and
- 9:13Speaker 2: it is completely awful. You think I get the opportunity
- 9:17Speaker 2: to be like, hey, guys, I made a mistake. I'm
- 9:19Speaker 2: coming back. Oh, sorry, buddy. We've already filled your position. Yeah,
- 9:23Speaker 2: I have an issue with it. We all make mistakes
- 9:26Speaker 2: as humans, and they have to learn the hard way.
- 9:29Speaker 1: If either of them had played in a game in
- 9:31Speaker 1: the NFL, I would agree with you.
- 9:34Speaker 2: Well, I mean, it's going to work out for them
- 9:36Speaker 2: and you'll be happy at the end of the day
- 9:38Speaker 2: because I guarantee they end up on another roster somewhere.
- 9:41Speaker 1: They're going to. Absolutely. And I hope that is the case.
- 9:44Speaker 1: I just feel like if they hadn't played in a game,
- 9:47Speaker 1: they should be allowed to come back because I don't care.
- 9:50Speaker 1: We can't differentiate college with NFL anymore. You can't at all.
- 9:56Speaker 1: That part's true. So if that part is true, that's
- 9:59Speaker 1: the main... part, so why not? So why can't they
- 10:02Speaker 1: come back? So I look at this. You know, Cal Tucker,
- 10:07Speaker 1: who a lot of people like, a lot of people dislike.
- 10:11Speaker 1: I happen to like Cal Tucker. I think he's a
- 10:13Speaker 1: good human being. He's got a great family. He's been
- 10:18Speaker 1: posting all kinds of stuff, saying, you mean to tell
- 10:22Speaker 1: me that– North Carolina, who had students taking fake classes
- 10:31Speaker 1: and getting fake degrees for doing absolutely nothing, you don't
- 10:36Speaker 1: punish them, but you're going to punish LSU because of
- 10:42Speaker 1: the fact that they brought two players back that didn't
- 10:45Speaker 1: even play professionally. I think it's a tragedy. And I
- 10:50Speaker 1: could not agree more with Kyle Tucker. He goes through
- 10:54Speaker 1: a whole list of schools that have done all kinds
- 10:56Speaker 1: of stuff. Far worse. Oh, yeah. Oh, yes. Schools giving money.
- 11:03Speaker 1: A school here in town had, you know, some unusual
- 11:07Speaker 1: characters at a party.
- 11:10Speaker 2: We don't have to get into that. But you mean
- 11:12Speaker 2: to tell me that's okay? I don't think they're saying
- 11:16Speaker 2: it's okay. I think those are just used for historical context.
- 11:21Speaker 2: If this vote actually went down between the SEC presidents,
- 11:26Speaker 2: were they going to kick LSU out of the conference?
- 11:27Speaker 1: No. I would hope not.
- 11:30Speaker 2: That was never going to happen.
- 11:32Speaker 1: But that was on its way to trying to happen.
- 11:34Speaker 2: Even if the pros were on the roster, I don't
- 11:37Speaker 2: think that would have happened because LSU is way too
- 11:40Speaker 2: big of a power in the SEC. And if all
- 11:43Speaker 2: those other situations that you just mentioned, your UNCs, your
- 11:47Speaker 2: Penn States, your SMUs, if that didn't result in them
- 11:51Speaker 2: getting kicked out of their conference, then this should never
- 11:54Speaker 2: in a million years warrant LSU getting kicked out of
- 11:57Speaker 2: the SEC. So I don't think that was ever going
- 12:00Speaker 2: to actually happen. That kind of felt like, when I
- 12:03Speaker 2: heard the news yesterday, it kind of felt like an
- 12:07Speaker 2: empty threat, if you will.
- 12:09Speaker 1: I hope you're right.
- 12:10Speaker 2: Well, and it worked. They bullied him into not signing
- 12:12Speaker 2: those two guys, right?
- 12:14Speaker 1: Yeah, but I still think it's wrong. Unfortunately, no one
- 12:19Speaker 1: is ever going to be able to convince me. And
- 12:23Speaker 1: I feel bad for those two young men. How? They're
- 12:27Speaker 1: going to get an opportunity. I hope you're right, but
- 12:31Speaker 1: why can't they get the opportunity at UK? Just like
- 12:34Speaker 1: with Mark Mitchell. Because you left the college game. Doesn't matter.
- 12:38Speaker 1: They did not play a single game in the NFL.
- 12:41Speaker 1: If they had, I would agree with you. But they didn't.
- 12:44Speaker 1: They only went there and worked out. Who cares?
- 12:46Speaker 2: All right, let me ask you this.
- 12:47Speaker 1: All right, I'm ready.
- 12:48Speaker 2: Ryan Hampton, basketball commit for Kentucky. There was talks that
- 12:53Speaker 2: he was going to reclassify and join the team this year.
- 12:56Speaker 2: Doesn't I haven't heard any movement on that. It doesn't
- 12:59Speaker 2: feel like that's going to happen. But let's pretend it did.
- 13:02Speaker 2: Let's pretend Ryan Hampton does commit to Kentucky and says,
- 13:06Speaker 2: I'm going to I'm going to enroll early as an
- 13:08Speaker 2: early classification. All right. And a year early. Well, then
- 13:12Speaker 2: he gets to Kentucky and he finds out, well, heck,
- 13:15Speaker 2: we're we've got a loaded roster here. I'm never going
- 13:18Speaker 2: to see any playing time. Would you be okay then
- 13:21Speaker 2: if Ryan Hampton declassified and went back to high school
- 13:26Speaker 2: after spending a handful of months on Kentucky's campus?
- 13:30Speaker 1: Well, wait. Did they spend a handful of months in
- 13:33Speaker 1: the NFL?
- 13:34Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 13:35Speaker 1: I'm okay with it. All summer. They didn't play. He
- 13:38Speaker 1: would not have played a single game for UK, but.
- 13:40Speaker 2: He got the experience of playing at the college speed
- 13:44Speaker 2: at the college level with stronger guys. Then you drop
- 13:47Speaker 2: a level and you're, you're going to have an advantage.
- 13:49Speaker 2: That's what I've been telling you the whole time.
- 13:51Speaker 1: That's fine. All right. Let's talk about Rajon Rondo. Son.
- 13:54Speaker 1: Pierre is getting to go out to LA and work
- 13:57Speaker 1: out with professional basketball players. We've talked about that story
- 13:59Speaker 1: on this, uh, On this radio show. And he is
- 14:03Speaker 1: getting an advantage that not any other, our majority of
- 14:08Speaker 1: the players out there in high school are not getting.
- 14:11Speaker 1: Is that wrong? It's the same thing.
- 14:14Speaker 2: No, because he's using his connections. Those guys use the system.
- 14:20Speaker 2: Rondo's using his connections.
- 14:22Speaker 1: I couldn't disagree with you more.
- 14:24Speaker 2: I hate that we're so far apart.
- 14:26Speaker 1: We are. Completely. Because to me, Rajon Rondo's son is
- 14:30Speaker 1: getting the same advantage. Your hypothetical situation with a guy
- 14:34Speaker 1: classifying at UK and committing to UK and then wanting
- 14:39Speaker 1: to declassify and go back to high school. It's the
- 14:41Speaker 1: same thing.
- 14:42Speaker 2: It's not, though, because Rondo's not saying I'm going to
- 14:46Speaker 2: college and then, oh, wait a minute, I'm going to
- 14:48Speaker 2: go back to high school because college is a little
- 14:51Speaker 2: too tough.
- 14:51Speaker 1: Oh my gosh, you are so wrong about this.
- 14:54Speaker 2: I feel the same about you.
- 14:58Speaker 1: For what it's worth. This would be the first time
- 15:00Speaker 1: you and I have completely disagreed with each other.
- 15:03Speaker 2: No.
- 15:04Speaker 1: Yeah, I believe it is.
- 15:05Speaker 2: We disagree all the time. Yeah, but not something like this.
- 15:08Speaker 2: Conan O'Brien?
- 15:09Speaker 1: Now, wait a minute. That's not true. You just texted
- 15:12Speaker 1: me last week and you changed your mind about Conan.
- 15:14Speaker 2: I didn't change my mind.
- 15:15Speaker 1: Yes, you did.
- 15:16Speaker 2: I just said I gained a little bit of respect.
- 15:19Speaker 1: Oh, no, not a little bit. I'm going back to
- 15:21Speaker 1: the text and I'm going to take a picture of
- 15:23Speaker 1: it and send it to you and say, no, you
- 15:25Speaker 1: gained a lot of respect for him. Jerk. I don't
- 15:29Speaker 1: know how you can dislike Conan O'Brien. He's the greatest comedian.
- 15:32Speaker 1: He's a dweeb. How is he a dweeb? Just look
- 15:35Speaker 1: at him. No. Okay. What am I? Look at me.
- 15:40Speaker 1: I would hate to hear what you really think about
- 15:42Speaker 1: me in your mind. Yeah. I'm a bigger one. Exactly. Thanks. See,
- 15:49Speaker 1: the truth is coming out now. Oh, my gosh, man.
- 15:52Speaker 1: Are we parting ways? I hope not. Is this the
- 15:56Speaker 1: start of our divorce? But, no, I just, listen, you're
- 16:00Speaker 1: going to have a hard time telling me that LSU
- 16:04Speaker 1: is in the wrong here. and these poor players, they're
- 16:07Speaker 1: going to go somewhere else, and you're okay with them
- 16:09Speaker 1: going somewhere else, just not LSU. Let me just say this.
- 16:12Speaker 1: Because here's what– hold on. Here's what I think. I
- 16:14Speaker 1: think you dislike this so much, and it all stems
- 16:18Speaker 1: from one thing, Lane Kiffin. It doesn't, though. It doesn't.
- 16:22Speaker 2: Because– and I'm not– I don't want to give LSU
- 16:27Speaker 2: as much blame as I am because LSU was just
- 16:29Speaker 2: doing things that– Quite frankly, everybody across the country was
- 16:34Speaker 2: trying to do when this 5-for-5 rule came out.
- 16:36Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 16:37Speaker 2: This isn't an LSU issue. This is 1,000% an NCAA issue.
- 16:44Speaker 2: I have no issue with LSU trying to do what
- 16:47Speaker 2: they did or what it's worth.
- 16:48Speaker 1: I really don't. Well, you're going to see it all
- 16:51Speaker 1: over again in the next couple of months when basketball.
- 16:53Speaker 1: You said it just a couple of minutes ago, and
- 16:55Speaker 1: it's just like that's going to get tiresome at that point.
- 16:57Speaker 1: And you would think that LSU is like, okay, guys,
- 17:00Speaker 1: We can't do it on the football side. Will Wade, sorry,
- 17:03Speaker 1: you're going to have to figure something else out. What's
- 17:05Speaker 1: he going to do at that point? Play with four guys. Man,
- 17:08Speaker 1: that's going to be a nightmare, isn't it? Well, not
- 17:11Speaker 1: for us. It's going to be laughable. It is.
- 17:13Speaker 2: Honestly, I can't wait.
- 17:15Speaker 1: And, you know, we've talked about it. LSU probably has
- 17:19Speaker 1: the three top coaches from women's basketball to Football and
- 17:25Speaker 1: men's basketball as the most despised in the SEC. And
- 17:29Speaker 1: I think that's where a lot of it stems from
- 17:31Speaker 1: as well. I think people are going after LSU because
- 17:35Speaker 1: they do not like those three coaches right there. And
- 17:38Speaker 1: so they're happy to see this fall from grace or
- 17:42Speaker 1: a bit of a fall from grace for those three coaches.
- 17:47Speaker 1: I remember the T-shirt down in Nashville this past weekend
- 17:51Speaker 1: before the Ole Miss UofL game. And it just blank
- 17:55Speaker 1: Lane Kiffin and Ole Miss on the back. It was like, oh, man, really?
- 18:00Speaker 1: Is that what you really want to buy? Anyway, and
- 18:04Speaker 1: they were selling them like crazy. I don't like that
- 18:07Speaker 1: kind of stuff. I don't.
- 18:09Speaker 2: Don't be a loser if you're Lane Kiffin. Don't be
- 18:12Speaker 2: a loser if you're Lane Kiffin.
- 18:13Speaker 1: Yeah. What do you mean? There wouldn't be shirts like that. Oh, well,
- 18:18Speaker 1: he just went and saw a better opportunity. If you
- 18:20Speaker 1: had the opportunity to go to LSU and you were
- 18:22Speaker 1: head coach at Ole Miss, would you leave?
- 18:27Speaker 2: Probably not in the way he did.
- 18:29Speaker 1: No. Because he left before the bowl game. Here's the
- 18:32Speaker 1: problem with Lane Kiffin. Yeah, I want to know why
- 18:35Speaker 1: you dislike him so much. I mean, this man is
- 18:37Speaker 1: just literally chasing championships. He's going wherever he can to
- 18:42Speaker 1: try to win a championship. And I just, I don't, like,
- 18:45Speaker 1: I mean, Tennessee, USC, Ole Miss, now LSU, heck, even
- 18:51Speaker 1: spent some time at FAU, which that clearly wasn't about
- 18:54Speaker 1: winning a championship, but. And he spent a little time
- 18:56Speaker 1: in Alabama.
- 18:57Speaker 2: He's just, he's team hopping to give him the best
- 19:00Speaker 2: opportunity to win a championship.
- 19:01Speaker 1: And what's wrong with that? I just, there's no loyalty there.
- 19:04Speaker 2: He's, I saw a quote yesterday, or I guess it
- 19:08Speaker 2: was a video that I watched, And I can't even
- 19:11Speaker 2: remember who it was. Maybe Clay Travis, which you can
- 19:14Speaker 2: think what you want about him. But basically, he was
- 19:16Speaker 2: describing Lane Kiffin as the perfect coach for this era
- 19:20Speaker 2: because he is doing exactly what the players are doing.
- 19:23Speaker 2: Every two years or so, just finding a new gig.
- 19:26Speaker 1: Yeah. Why not? I mean, if the pay is better
- 19:30Speaker 1: and the opportunity is better, why not leave? Could he
- 19:32Speaker 1: have won a championship at Ole Miss? Yeah. But does
- 19:35Speaker 1: he have a better opportunity at LSU? Absolutely. Absolutely. I
- 19:39Speaker 1: guarantee you the NIL is a thousand times bigger at
- 19:44Speaker 1: LSU than it is at old miss many and and
- 19:47Speaker 1: in this day and age of nil i'm going to
- 19:50Speaker 1: where the nil money is.
- 19:51Speaker 2: Many people forget those two teams play next week and
- 19:54Speaker 2: yeah man i hope old miss beats the hell it's
- 19:56Speaker 2: not this.
- 19:57Speaker 1: Weekend it's the following week right yeah yeah that's going
- 19:59Speaker 1: to be fine i i bet you that is going
- 20:02Speaker 1: to be the most watched uh game all season long
- 20:06Speaker 1: Maybe so. I bet you it is. It might be.
- 20:09Speaker 1: So anyway. All right. We got to take our first break. 502-384-1450.
- 20:11Speaker 2: You want to call in? Blood pressure down.
- 20:15Speaker 1: Wow. My blood pressure is great. I enjoy that. Work
- 20:18Speaker 1: me up this morning. I love. See, but I enjoy that, though.
- 20:23Speaker 1: When we don't agree with each other, to me, I
- 20:26Speaker 1: think that's more enjoyable. When we agree, it's not as
- 20:29Speaker 1: much fun. Anyway. But, you know, your blood pressure's worked
- 20:33Speaker 1: up because you know I'm right. So, 502-414-1450. Here we go.
- 20:39Speaker 1: If you want to tweet on the, or text on
- 20:41Speaker 1: the Whiskey Thief text line. A little quiet already. I
- 20:44Speaker 1: figured that would have charged everybody up.
- 20:46Speaker 2: My show was quiet, too.
- 20:47Speaker 1: Oh, it was? It was. What's wrong with Tuesday? Where
- 20:49Speaker 1: is everybody? It's Wednesday, first of all. All right, well,
- 20:52Speaker 1: it doesn't matter. I'm screwed up. So, every day I am. But,
- 20:55Speaker 1: stay right there. A lot more Just the Cats coming up.
- 21:30Speaker 3: The devil went down to Georgia. He was looking for
- 21:32Speaker 3: a soul to steal. He was in a bind because
- 21:35Speaker 3: he was way behind, and he was willing to make
- 21:36Speaker 3: a deal. When he came across this young man sewing
- 21:39Speaker 3: on a fiddle and playing it hot, and the devil
- 21:41Speaker 3: jumped up on a hickory stump and said, boy.
- 21:43Speaker 1: Let me tell you what.
- 21:44Speaker 3: I guess you didn't know it, but I'm a fiddle.
- 21:46Speaker 1: Player, too.
- 21:46Speaker 2: All right, back here on Just the Cats here on
- 21:49Speaker 2: Big X Sports Radio. I am not entirely sure where
- 21:54Speaker 2: Michael is. I flipped the cameras back on, and he
- 21:58Speaker 2: is not there. Guess he went to the restroom or something.
- 22:01Speaker 2: But welcome back in. Fun discussion there in segment number one.
- 22:05Speaker 2: Is Michael completely wrong? I'm going to take the liberty
- 22:09Speaker 2: here to say just how wrong he was since he's
- 22:11Speaker 2: not here to defend himself. But very wrong in that
- 22:15Speaker 2: situation regarding... LSU as he makes his way back into
- 22:18Speaker 2: the studio. Now, Michael, I was just telling everybody how
- 22:21Speaker 2: wrong you were there.
- 22:23Speaker 1: Come on.
- 22:23Speaker 2: Now, that's not fair to take advantage of me like that.
- 22:26Speaker 2: You couldn't defend yourself.
- 22:28Speaker 1: Yeah, you're right.
- 22:28Speaker 2: You can't tell me I was wrong.
- 22:30Speaker 1: Okay. All right, then. One person texted in, guys, if
- 22:33Speaker 1: the SEC actually boots LSU, which would be crazy, the
- 22:37Speaker 1: ACC will gladly take their money. I found that Kiffin
- 22:41Speaker 1: audio refreshing. You know, you say they were bluffing Greg
- 22:50Speaker 1: Sankey and the SEC. I don't know. I just think
- 22:54Speaker 1: maybe the SEC would take it too far in the LSU.
- 23:00Speaker 1: I don't think it'd be ACC. I think it'd be
- 23:03Speaker 1: the Big Ten. The LSU would be foolish to go
- 23:06Speaker 1: to the ACC. For sure. Yeah. There's no competition. And
- 23:13Speaker 1: not only that, but I predict that the ACC is
- 23:17Speaker 1: going to implode the next few years. I mean, you
- 23:20Speaker 1: don't think so, but I think it is.
- 23:21Speaker 2: I mean, eventually, but not soon.
- 23:24Speaker 1: No, not soon.
- 23:25Speaker 2: And the SEC is not going to boot LSU. They
- 23:28Speaker 2: bring way too much value to the conference. I couldn't
- 23:30Speaker 2: agree more. Across all sports.
- 23:33Speaker 1: Buzz texted in and said that Daquan Wright signed a
- 23:37Speaker 1: contract with the Eagles. Why are we talking about this?
- 23:41Speaker 2: Because this is one of the pros that Lane was
- 23:42Speaker 2: going to sign.
- 23:43Speaker 1: Oh, that's right. He received a signing bonus before the
- 23:46Speaker 1: Browns released him. They paid him the rest of his
- 23:50Speaker 1: guarantee contract. Does that change either of your thoughts? How
- 23:54Speaker 1: about this? LSU would probably pay him more. It doesn't
- 23:58Speaker 1: change my mind at all.
- 23:59Speaker 2: How does it not?
- 24:01Speaker 1: He did not play a game. That's why.
- 24:03Speaker 2: He got a signing bonus and contract money.
- 24:07Speaker 1: Yeah. I hear you. He didn't play a game.
- 24:12Speaker 2: I mean, is that all it comes down to for
- 24:15Speaker 2: you is you have to play in a game?
- 24:16Speaker 1: Yes, it does. Yeah, it's the fact that they did
- 24:20Speaker 1: not play a game. If he had played a game, done.
- 24:23Speaker 1: He would be done with college, but he did not.
- 24:26Speaker 1: I don't know what else to say to you. The
- 24:28Speaker 1: money part doesn't care. So, all right, let's take it
- 24:32Speaker 1: another way, Buzz and Justin. What if he had gone to,
- 24:36Speaker 1: let's just say UCLA, signed a contract and got the money,
- 24:42Speaker 1: but then decided, you know what? Nah, forget it. I'm
- 24:44Speaker 1: going to go to West Virginia. Does that change it
- 24:48Speaker 1: for you? No.
- 24:49Speaker 2: No.
- 24:50Speaker 1: Why? Absolutely.
- 24:52Speaker 2: You can't just go around collecting checks from everybody and
- 24:56Speaker 2: then say, I'm not playing for you.
- 24:58Speaker 1: Coaches do it.
- 25:00Speaker 2: Lane.
- 25:05Speaker 1: Oh, my gosh.
- 25:05Speaker 2: That's not how it works. You don't just go collect.
- 25:08Speaker 2: Money from everybody.
- 25:09Speaker 1: Okay.
- 25:09Speaker 2: And not do a service.
- 25:11Speaker 1: All right, then. John here. Look, Lane Kiffin is a
- 25:14Speaker 1: good coach. He won dome national titles as an assistant coach. Some.
- 25:21Speaker 1: What's that? He has won some national titles. Okay, yeah. Well,
- 25:24Speaker 1: it says dome, so I'm saying dome.
- 25:26Speaker 2: It does. You're right.
- 25:29Speaker 1: You're right. It's supposed to say some. Now as a
- 25:34Speaker 1: head coach, he has proven– He went to proven to
- 25:40Speaker 1: win big games. And before he retires, he will have
- 25:43Speaker 1: some good opportunities to win a national title, including this year. Also,
- 25:47Speaker 1: I believe our beloved Kentucky quarterback, Kenny Menchie could be
- 25:50Speaker 1: a Heisman winner this year or next year. If he
- 25:53Speaker 1: stays in college football. Wow. Man, you are, John, I
- 25:58Speaker 1: got to, listen, I admire you. You are so hyped
- 26:02Speaker 1: on Kenny Minchie. He is. I love it. I mean,
- 26:05Speaker 1: I got the biggest kick yesterday when you put in the,
- 26:09Speaker 1: I mean, you and I were laughing after the show. And, John,
- 26:13Speaker 1: I'm not making fun of you. I promise I'm not
- 26:15Speaker 1: making fun of you. But you put in, was it
- 26:19Speaker 1: Joe Montana?
- 26:20Speaker 2: Patrick Mahomes.
- 26:21Speaker 1: Patrick Mahomes and Kenny Minchie. That that's quite a list.
- 26:27Speaker 1: I mean, my gosh, man, that is quite, and I
- 26:30Speaker 1: will say, I talked to my wife about this last night,
- 26:33Speaker 1: how much I thoroughly enjoyed spending some time with Kenny Minchie.
- 26:38Speaker 1: And I just, you know, the first thought I said,
- 26:41Speaker 1: is he really going to be good? And I couldn't
- 26:43Speaker 1: get that out of my mind as I'm talking to him,
- 26:46Speaker 1: a very good looking, well-spoken young man. I liked him thoroughly.
- 26:52Speaker 1: And I'm just so happy to see that he's doing
- 26:55Speaker 1: well so far. I hope it keeps up. So let's
- 26:59Speaker 1: get to this one. I'm not getting it. Can you
- 27:05Speaker 1: help me with the pad? For some reason, I can't
- 27:08Speaker 1: get podcast random thoughts guy text. Can you read it
- 27:11Speaker 1: for me?
- 27:14Speaker 2: Says, love your pig scoots, smartest football fan in local
- 27:18Speaker 2: sports media.
- 27:19Speaker 1: Oh, come on.
- 27:20Speaker 2: I've always said. I'm assuming Lamar Crotchrider guy is a
- 27:23Speaker 2: UK or IU fan. I'm sure fans of those schools
- 27:27Speaker 2: wouldn't become a fan of a team if they had
- 27:29Speaker 2: a Heisman winner. I guess we'll see with Mendoza. Never
- 27:32Speaker 2: will with UK. And two-time NFL MVP to cheer for.
- 27:35Speaker 2: Ravens are my second team, and yeah, it's because of Lamar.
- 27:39Speaker 1: That's so sad. Well, all right. I think that's a
- 27:44Speaker 1: good statement. But my question would be, and this is
- 27:48Speaker 1: what I think Podcast Random Thoughts Guy is bringing up,
- 27:51Speaker 1: because you really stimulate my thinking, Podcast Random Thoughts Guy.
- 27:54Speaker 1: I really like your text. I'll give you an example.
- 28:01Speaker 1: Will Levis. Will Levis, former quarterback at Kentucky. Would I
- 28:07Speaker 1: root for the Titans, or did I root for the
- 28:10Speaker 1: Titans when Will Levis was there? The answer is a
- 28:14Speaker 1: hard no. I did not, and I will never. If
- 28:19Speaker 1: a former quarterback went to the Saints, they're the Buccaneers'
- 28:26Speaker 1: biggest rival. Would I root for.
- 28:33Speaker 1: No, I wouldn't become a Saints fan. If Mendoza went to...
- 28:38Speaker 1: Your favorite team is the Steelers, Justin. Who is your
- 28:42Speaker 1: biggest rival in your mind? The Cowboys? Oh, God, no.
- 28:47Speaker 2: It would be the Ravens for sure. Okay, it'd be
- 28:49Speaker 2: the Ravens.
- 28:50Speaker 1: If Mendoza had gone to Baltimore, would you become a
- 28:55Speaker 1: Ravens fan? Absolutely not. Exactly. So no offense, PRTG. I'm
- 29:02Speaker 1: not rooting for him.
- 29:04Speaker 2: But that being said, I may not be a Ravens fan,
- 29:08Speaker 2: but I'm always going to root for Mendoza.
- 29:10Speaker 1: Absolutely you are. But I think his point was, wouldn't
- 29:13Speaker 1: you become a fan of the team? Yeah, no. And
- 29:17Speaker 1: I wouldn't. No show. No, absolutely. And that's where I
- 29:20Speaker 1: get so sick and tired of the national broadcast thinking
- 29:24Speaker 1: that Louisville, Kentucky should be Ravens fans, so therefore we're
- 29:28Speaker 1: going to show Ravens games here instead of Bengals games.
- 29:31Speaker 1: I just can't stand that. Not all of the city
- 29:35Speaker 1: is a UofL fan. I'd say half. is UK. So
- 29:41Speaker 1: they don't care about Lamar Jackson. I just get tired
- 29:44Speaker 1: of that. Anyway, got a side with Michael 48 Handley says,
- 29:49Speaker 1: even if he doesn't like the Beatles, they're all pros anyway.
- 29:54Speaker 1: The Beatles wrote 229 songs cumulatively. Wow. I didn't know that.
- 30:01Speaker 1: So there you go. One side for me, finally. No comment, Justin?
- 30:07Speaker 2: No comment.
- 30:08Speaker 1: Okay. All right, then. Well, he's right.
- 30:10Speaker 2: You're wrong.
- 30:14Speaker 1: You can't read into the defense. Oh, that's yesterday. College
- 30:21Speaker 1: football needs Lane. Does college football need certain coaches out there?
- 30:25Speaker 1: I say yes. Yeah. And Lane Kiffin is that guy
- 30:28Speaker 1: we need. For sure. Yeah. And Cignetti. Oh, absolutely. Of course.
- 30:36Speaker 2: I love how you– I mean, honestly, if you're starting
- 30:38Speaker 2: with two guys that college football needs, it's those two.
- 30:41Speaker 1: Yeah, but I don't think Kurt Cignetti is disliked. Not yet.
- 30:46Speaker 2: Oh, you think he will be? Eventually, yeah, when he
- 30:48Speaker 2: just continues to win.
- 30:49Speaker 1: Absolutely. All right, let's talk about Nick Saban. Do you
- 30:52Speaker 1: think outside of Alabama and leave out Auburn fans, Do
- 30:57Speaker 1: you think, and most likely Tennessee fans, but do you
- 31:01Speaker 1: think outside of the SEC, Nick Samen was more liked
- 31:08Speaker 1: or disliked? Disliked. Really? I do. I'm kind of surprised
- 31:13Speaker 1: by that. I would have figured they would have liked him.
- 31:17Speaker 2: People hate winners, especially when you're winning at the highest
- 31:21Speaker 2: level year after year after year after year. Yeah, it
- 31:23Speaker 2: just gets old.
- 31:24Speaker 1: I'm trying to think who are some coaches that were
- 31:27Speaker 1: real winners that were beloved. Tommy Lasorda. Do you think
- 31:35Speaker 1: he was liked or disliked? It's a funny example. Why
- 31:39Speaker 1: is that a funny example? I think it's a great one.
- 31:41Speaker 1: I love Tommy Lasorda, but I didn't like the Dodgers.
- 31:44Speaker 1: I just don't know where you pulled that from. I'm
- 31:46Speaker 1: actually quite impressed. I have no idea if people like
- 31:50Speaker 1: Tommy Lasso. Bear Bryant. I think people liked Bear Bryant
- 31:54Speaker 1: more than they disliked him.
- 31:56Speaker 2: I could be wrong about this. You can't dislike a
- 31:58Speaker 2: guy whose name is Bear. Kidding me?
- 32:01Speaker 1: But you said people want to dislike winners, and he
- 32:05Speaker 1: was definitely a winner. I think Mike Krzyzewski is completely different.
- 32:10Speaker 1: I think people despised him.
- 32:12Speaker 2: Yeah, he looks like a rat.
- 32:14Speaker 1: Yeah. Oh, he is rat-faced. But no, I.
- 32:19Speaker 1: Within college basketball, Dean Smith was not liked. Roy Williams
- 32:24Speaker 1: was not liked. Bill Self, I don't think, is liked.
- 32:29Speaker 1: You don't care for Thomas.
- 32:31Speaker 2: I think Bill Self is just kind of there.
- 32:33Speaker 1: Really? You don't think he's liked or disliked?
- 32:35Speaker 2: Yeah, I just think he's right in the middle.
- 32:37Speaker 1: See, you and I differ on one coach that I
- 32:39Speaker 1: really like, and that's Tom Izzo. You can't stand Tom Izzo.
- 32:43Speaker 1: I don't know where you're getting that from. I like
- 32:44Speaker 1: Tom Izzo. See, I think Tom Izzo is one of
- 32:47Speaker 1: those kind of guys. Now, we all agree about, you know,
- 32:51Speaker 1: that guy up at UConn. Yeah. Yeah, nobody likes him.
- 32:55Speaker 2: By the way, have you seen their non-conference schedule?
- 32:59Speaker 1: I did, and I don't remember right off hand. Unbelievably hard.
- 33:03Speaker 1: Is it really? Good.
- 33:05Speaker 2: It's like every single night they're taking on a big power.
- 33:08Speaker 1: See, and I respect that. Anytime you have a non-conference
- 33:12Speaker 1: schedule that's easy, that was the one thing that I always,
- 33:17Speaker 1: all right, I'll give you another example. As far as UofL,
- 33:21Speaker 1: I always admired, and then when I got to know
- 33:24Speaker 1: him a little bit, Denny Crump. And that was the
- 33:27Speaker 1: thing that I probably respected Denny Crum the most. This
- 33:31Speaker 1: is back when they played in the old Metro Conference.
- 33:34Speaker 1: That was Memphis State, Florida State. I forget who some
- 33:38Speaker 1: of the other teams were. But he knew he didn't
- 33:40Speaker 1: play in that difficult of a conference. So what did
- 33:42Speaker 1: he do? He scheduled the most difficult non-conference schedule he
- 33:47Speaker 1: could to prepare his team. I always respected that. And
- 33:52Speaker 1: I thought that was great. Get some ready. Exactly. One
- 33:56Speaker 1: person texted, these players that declare for the NFL and
- 33:59Speaker 1: then try and come back are not the same as
- 34:01Speaker 1: the basketball players that got bad advice and either skipped
- 34:05Speaker 1: college or left after one year. I feel sorry for them.
- 34:08Speaker 1: These football players are just trying to get the money,
- 34:11Speaker 1: the more money. John needs rehab if he's already... this
- 34:16Speaker 1: drunk in the morning talking about Minji. Good text. That's
- 34:29Speaker 1: a great text right there. Thank you very much. Is
- 34:33Speaker 1: that Jamie, by the way? That is, yeah. God, he
- 34:35Speaker 1: makes me laugh. I mean, that... I got to reread that.
- 34:39Speaker 1: John needs rehab if he's already this drunk in the
- 34:42Speaker 1: morning talking about Minji. And I think Jamie's a UK fan,
- 34:46Speaker 1: isn't he? He is. Okay. God, John, don't, please don't
- 34:50Speaker 1: take offense to that. That's, that's funny right there. And
- 34:53Speaker 1: I enjoyed that text. John taking all the straight. Oh
- 34:56Speaker 1: my gosh, man. This is great. All right. We'll get
- 34:59Speaker 1: back to more of your texts as soon as we
- 35:00Speaker 1: take a break. But 502-414-1450. You want to text in.
- 35:04Speaker 1: Stay right there. We're going to talk more about UK
- 35:06Speaker 1: football because they released a video yesterday I think is
- 35:10Speaker 1: absolutely brilliant. And Will Stein said a couple of things
- 35:12Speaker 1: in there that's like, I like this. So we'll talk
- 35:16Speaker 1: about that as soon as we get back. Stay right there.
- 35:18Speaker 1: More Just the Cats coming right now. Devil's in the
- 35:24Speaker 1: house with the rising sun. Chicken in the.
- 35:26Speaker 3: Bread pan, I'm picking out dough.
- 35:28Speaker 1: Burying it with your dog like no child knows. 502-384-1450. Oh, my.
- 36:11Speaker 1: That'll wake you up in the morning, won't it? Oh,
- 36:13Speaker 1: my gosh. That's pretty good right there. Let's hear you
- 36:16Speaker 1: do that in an Indian accent.
- 36:18Speaker 2: Better not.
- 36:20Speaker 1: I think that would be great. Come on. 502-401-414-50. You
- 36:24Speaker 1: want to text me on the Whiskey Thief text line?
- 36:28Speaker 1: I got to talk about this because you said it
- 36:32Speaker 1: was too long. Maybe it's a, maybe. All right. So UK,
- 36:36Speaker 1: just let me get there. It's called UK released a
- 36:40Speaker 1: video yesterday called Uncut, U-N-K-U-T. I love the spelling of
- 36:46Speaker 1: it with Will Stein. I think it's great. You say
- 36:50Speaker 1: it's a little too long. might i haven't watched i
- 36:53Speaker 1: might i might i might agree with you on that.
- 36:55Speaker 2: For what it's worth i haven't watched it but there
- 36:57Speaker 2: have been videos similarly similar length in the past that
- 37:01Speaker 2: i've enjoyed yes so if it's well done then maybe
- 37:04Speaker 2: it's not too.
- 37:05Speaker 1: Well what do you think i mean they've hit a
- 37:07Speaker 1: grand slam every time they've come out with something right
- 37:09Speaker 1: uk has uh and maybe this one's a little longer
- 37:13Speaker 1: because of the fact that it was his first game
- 37:16Speaker 1: That's the only thing I can think of. Cause I
- 37:18Speaker 1: I'm with you. My attention span is probably 45 seconds
- 37:22Speaker 1: and then I got to move on. And of course, yeah,
- 37:26Speaker 1: I will admit I had to skip through a little
- 37:27Speaker 1: bit of it. It's just like, okay, come on, man.
- 37:29Speaker 1: Let's let's go on. But, uh, I enjoyed it. And
- 37:34Speaker 1: to the point where it's like, okay, I want to
- 37:35Speaker 1: watch this again. So I ended up watching the whole
- 37:37Speaker 1: thing without skipping. I really enjoyed it now. There were
- 37:41Speaker 1: two things Will Stein did in this video that I
- 37:45Speaker 1: was thoroughly impressed by, okay? Well, one was I was
- 37:49Speaker 1: really impressed by. One was like, that's a nice touch.
- 37:52Speaker 1: Are you ready for the two? Number one, he said,
- 37:56Speaker 1: all right, people, players, when we walk through the catwalk,
- 38:01Speaker 1: I want every player to take your headphones off. He goes,
- 38:07Speaker 1: these people pay way too much money for us not
- 38:11Speaker 1: to show them respect. I love that. That's good, yeah.
- 38:18Speaker 1: Because he goes, I want you interacting with them. I
- 38:22Speaker 1: want you to pay attention to them. They deserve that
- 38:25Speaker 1: because they're paying this money to come here and support you.
- 38:29Speaker 1: And I haven't heard that before. You know, there's far
- 38:32Speaker 1: too many players out there. They've got their headphones on.
- 38:35Speaker 1: You know, it's that look. They look cool. I'm listening
- 38:38Speaker 1: to music, and I'm not paying attention to you. The
- 38:41Speaker 1: fact that Will Stein brought that up I think is unbelievable.
- 38:45Speaker 1: And that, you know, I like Will Stein. That made
- 38:48Speaker 1: me like him even more. Sure. After the game, he
- 38:53Speaker 1: had the entire team sing the fight song.
- 38:56Speaker 2: Oh, so taking a page out of Indiana's book.
- 38:58Speaker 1: Oh, see, I knew you were going to say that. No, well,
- 39:02Speaker 1: but UK's fight song is a lot better than Indiana's.
- 39:05Speaker 1: I couldn't tell you IU's fight song.
- 39:07Speaker 2: I couldn't tell you UK's because I never get to
- 39:09Speaker 2: hear it.
- 39:09Speaker 1: Hey-oh. Oh, boy. Okay.
- 39:11Speaker 2: You want to start that war? We can start that war.
- 39:14Speaker 2: What do you think about the headphone? I mean, that's
- 39:16Speaker 2: a good idea.
- 39:18Speaker 1: You're not impressed as much as I was. I'm kind
- 39:20Speaker 1: of surprised about that.
- 39:21Speaker 2: My only reasoning for that is because I know there's
- 39:24Speaker 2: a lot of athletes, not even just football players, but
- 39:27Speaker 2: a lot of athletes who that's that's what gets them
- 39:30Speaker 2: in their mode to go out and compete. I mean,
- 39:32Speaker 2: I was very much like that when I was in
- 39:34Speaker 2: high school. If I didn't have my music to listen
- 39:36Speaker 2: to prior to a cross country race more times than not,
- 39:39Speaker 2: I was screwed.
- 39:40Speaker 1: So.
- 39:41Speaker 2: Just a lot of players use that for motivation and
- 39:43Speaker 2: to get themselves hype. So that's my only question.
- 39:46Speaker 1: Yeah, but there's a right time and a wrong time.
- 39:49Speaker 1: And I think when you're walking through a line engaging
- 39:53Speaker 1: with a fan base, if you are engaging with your
- 39:56Speaker 1: Eastern High School or where did you go? Pekin. High
- 40:02Speaker 1: School fan base and you're going through, what's Pekin's... Musketeer.
- 40:07Speaker 1: All right. If you were going through the Musketeer Walk,
- 40:10Speaker 1: and you don't think you can listen to a little
- 40:12Speaker 1: music before you get to the Musketeer Walk, and maybe after,
- 40:15Speaker 1: before you're out there on the field running around for
- 40:18Speaker 1: miles on end?
- 40:19Speaker 2: No, I'm sure you could. And ultimately, I have no
- 40:21Speaker 2: issue with this at all.
- 40:22Speaker 1: Yeah. You shouldn't have an issue. I think it's respect.
- 40:25Speaker 1: And I think it's just showing respect to the fan base.
- 40:28Speaker 1: And I love that Will Stein did this, because I
- 40:30Speaker 1: did not know this before. And I loved it. And
- 40:36Speaker 1: anytime you pay homage back towards the fan base, man,
- 40:41Speaker 1: you get my respect. And I just thought it was great.
- 40:44Speaker 1: But you need to go back and watch it. Yeah, no,
- 40:46Speaker 1: I will today. Yeah. Okay, good. Let's talk about NFL tonight.
- 40:52Speaker 1: They got the Patriots versus the Seahawks. Really? You think so?
- 40:58Speaker 1: It's a Super Bowl rematch.
- 41:00Speaker 2: It just feels like such a boring matchup.
- 41:03Speaker 1: Does it? It's two teams I really don't care about.
- 41:06Speaker 1: That same year. Yeah. And I think that's part of
- 41:09Speaker 1: the problem. Seattle's picked by three and a half. It's
- 41:13Speaker 1: at Seattle. Should it have been played at Seattle? I
- 41:16Speaker 1: guess they get it because of the fact that they
- 41:18Speaker 1: won the first game. But I would have liked to
- 41:20Speaker 1: have seen it. The loser get the game. And the
- 41:24Speaker 1: Patriots host this game. But you think it's deserved because
- 41:27Speaker 1: Seattle won the Super Bowl. They should host the game. Yeah.
- 41:29Speaker 2: I mean, they got to do their whole celebration and reveal. Oh,
- 41:33Speaker 2: is that what it is? Championship and all that.
- 41:35Speaker 1: Yeah. Yeah. All right. Rankings came out yesterday for college football.
- 41:42Speaker 1: What do you think about Michigan falling out altogether after
- 41:47Speaker 1: a win?
- 41:47Speaker 2: Look, there's no reason they should have been in the
- 41:50Speaker 2: top 25.
- 41:50Speaker 1: Really? Yeah. I'm right there with it. And I think
- 41:54Speaker 1: that's kind of punishment to Michigan for winning a game
- 41:57Speaker 1: that they should have lost. Do you feel that way?
- 41:59Speaker 1: Because I felt like this was vindictive by the voters.
- 42:03Speaker 2: No, I mean, even if that result stands, which it
- 42:07Speaker 2: still has for what it's worth, I mean, 13-12 over
- 42:11Speaker 2: Western Michigan?
- 42:12Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 42:12Speaker 2: You don't deserve to be in the top 25. Sorry, guys.
- 42:15Speaker 1: Well, I would– If this was a team I really
- 42:20Speaker 1: didn't like, I just wonder how it would have felt.
- 42:23Speaker 1: If it was Notre Dame, for instance, do you think
- 42:28Speaker 1: Notre Dame would have fallen out of the top 25?
- 42:31Speaker 2: Probably so, yeah.
- 42:32Speaker 1: I just don't think so.
- 42:34Speaker 2: I mean, if they lose to Rice in a couple weeks, yeah,
- 42:36Speaker 2: they're going to fall out.
- 42:37Speaker 1: Georgia's number two, are you okay with that? I am
- 42:39Speaker 1: okay with that.
- 42:40Speaker 2: Oregon falls, even though they won. This is interesting how
- 42:44Speaker 2: they're falling. It wasn't an impressive win. At this stage
- 42:50Speaker 2: of the season, you need impressive wins.
- 42:52Speaker 1: Really? That's the thing about it, though. It's the first
- 42:55Speaker 1: game of the year. I'm going to play devil's advocate
- 42:57Speaker 1: because I don't disagree with you. I'm going to play
- 43:00Speaker 1: devil's advocate. But, you know, they still won the game.
- 43:02Speaker 1: It's the very first game of the season. So you're
- 43:05Speaker 1: telling me they have to win by a bunch of
- 43:08Speaker 1: points in order to stay in the ranking, even though
- 43:11Speaker 1: they won.
- 43:12Speaker 2: I mean, that's how college football is now, right?
- 43:15Speaker 3: It has.
- 43:16Speaker 2: Every single week, you have to be impressive and make
- 43:19Speaker 2: a statement to the voters. I mean, that's how it's
- 43:22Speaker 2: been for seemingly years now.
- 43:24Speaker 1: Yeah. I don't know if it's years, but it's the
- 43:27Speaker 1: last few years. Yeah, probably so, or recently. But it's
- 43:32Speaker 1: just funny to me how a football team has to
- 43:35Speaker 1: go out and just obliterate another team in order to
- 43:38Speaker 1: stay in their current rank. I love it. And if
- 43:43Speaker 1: they barely scooch by, because basketball is completely different. If
- 43:46Speaker 1: they win by one or two points, they primarily stay
- 43:48Speaker 1: at the same ranking. Football is completely different.
- 43:51Speaker 2: Well, there's also way less games in football.
- 43:53Speaker 1: You're right. So each one means more. Yeah. Oh, just
- 43:57Speaker 1: like the SEC. Oh, yeah. I forgot. How could I?
- 44:01Speaker 2: By the way, did you know the SEC went 16-0
- 44:03Speaker 2: in week one?
- 44:04Speaker 1: Oh, my gosh. They did over-advertise that, didn't they? So sick. Oh,
- 44:09Speaker 1: my gosh. And the ACC didn't look good over the weekend,
- 44:12Speaker 1: did they? No. LSU jumps to number eight. Are you
- 44:16Speaker 1: okay with that? Probably not. No, I'm fine with that.
- 44:19Speaker 1: Are you?
- 44:19Speaker 2: It was a really impressive win.
- 44:20Speaker 1: Okay. How much time do I have? About a minute.
- 44:26Speaker 1: I don't want to do this justice. We didn't get
- 44:29Speaker 1: a chance to talk about volleyball yesterday. And to me,
- 44:32Speaker 1: UK deserves, but we're going to talk about the top
- 44:35Speaker 1: of the hour. UK volleyball deserves some attention and I'm
- 44:38Speaker 1: going to do it. And I'm going to give it
- 44:41Speaker 1: to him. Plus we're going to talk about the Mac
- 44:43Speaker 1: as they declare a win over the weekend. I love this.
- 44:47Speaker 1: And then there's a farm and a County in Kentucky
- 44:51Speaker 1: that did something that made the coolest corn maze I've
- 44:55Speaker 1: ever seen. I don't know if you've seen this or not.
- 44:57Speaker 1: We're going to talk about that as well. What?
- 44:59Speaker 2: I haven't seen it. Oh, that, yeah, you've got to
- 45:01Speaker 2: go look it up. By the way, can we just
- 45:03Speaker 2: all agree that Michigan's 0-1?
- 45:05Speaker 1: Yes.
- 45:05Speaker 2: Can we just put that out there right now, regardless
- 45:08Speaker 2: of how all this shakes out?
- 45:09Speaker 1: Yeah, it's not going to shake out. They're going to
- 45:11Speaker 1: keep them 1-0, and it's just absolutely ridiculous. Anyway. Couldn't
- 45:17Speaker 1: agree more. I don't know how much time we got left,
- 45:19Speaker 1: but we're going to go ahead. Go now. Okay. We'll
- 45:21Speaker 1: take a break. Oh, you play the music now. I
- 45:23Speaker 1: got more to talk about.
- 45:24Speaker 2: Don't.
- 45:25Speaker 1: When you hear the music, that's your cue. Turn that
- 45:26Speaker 1: music down.
- 45:27Speaker 4: Get on out.
- 45:27Speaker 1: All right. We'll see you. Hour two coming right up.
- 45:29Speaker 1: Stay right there.
- 45:38Speaker 2: Welcome to Just the Cats with Michael.
- 45:49Speaker 1: Bennett. All right, over the weekend, I'm disappointed, but you know,
- 46:08Speaker 1: it's Will Stein's first game, and it just took over
- 46:13Speaker 1: way too much of the show. Well, it was deserved,
- 46:16Speaker 1: wasn't it, Justin? Yeah. And so we didn't get to,
- 46:21Speaker 1: I hate to sound like I'm apologizing to Craig Skinner,
- 46:23Speaker 1: because I kind of feel like I am. The volleyball
- 46:26Speaker 1: team deserves attention, and there's a reason why. Did you
- 46:33Speaker 1: watch any of the game on Sunday, by the way?
- 46:34Speaker 2: I had actually forgotten all about it, so no, I didn't.
- 46:37Speaker 1: Really? Okay. And I hate that I didn't. Yeah. Well,
- 46:40Speaker 1: they got to play the first game, and for some reason,
- 46:43Speaker 1: they couldn't play the second game. Moisture. That's what I
- 46:46Speaker 1: was getting ready to say. Moisture. Now, what does that mean,
- 46:49Speaker 1: they had moisture issues?
- 46:51Speaker 2: I mean, they're playing a game outside. Like, that's bound
- 46:54Speaker 2: to happen.
- 46:55Speaker 1: Was it raining? No.
- 46:57Speaker 2: No, I mean, I just think it's, you know how
- 46:58Speaker 2: when you wake up in the morning and it hasn't rained,
- 47:00Speaker 2: but your car's soaking wet because of condensation?
- 47:03Speaker 1: I think it was just an issue like that. So
- 47:04Speaker 1: they were able to play the first game, UK versus
- 47:07Speaker 1: number 13, Penn State, which UK won, but they can't
- 47:10Speaker 1: play the second game because there was moisture. I mean,
- 47:13Speaker 1: it got late into the evening. You'd think they could
- 47:16Speaker 1: do something with the court to help with that. And
- 47:20Speaker 1: they got to figure that out. And they tried.
- 47:22Speaker 2: They tried to take all the stickers off.
- 47:25Speaker 1: Oh, they did? Yeah. I didn't realize that.
- 47:27Speaker 2: They had a bunch of people out on the floor
- 47:28Speaker 2: taking all the stickers off, hoping that would help.
- 47:30Speaker 1: And I guess it did. Well, as soon as the
- 47:32Speaker 1: UK game was over, I was done. I love the
- 47:34Speaker 1: fact that over 43,000 people are in attendance for the game. Now, granted,
- 47:43Speaker 1: most of them were there for the next game. Let's
- 47:44Speaker 1: be completely honest. But that is pretty freaking cool.
- 47:48Speaker 2: Some of those seats suck.
- 47:51Speaker 1: Which ones?
- 47:52Speaker 2: Most notably, the ones by home plate.
- 47:54Speaker 1: Exactly. I mean, you are so far from the action. Yeah,
- 47:58Speaker 1: you can't see a thing, especially if you're low. You
- 48:00Speaker 1: can't watch any of that game, which was terrible for them.
- 48:04Speaker 1: But you know what? They got to be there. I
- 48:07Speaker 1: love that Craig Skinner wore a baseball uniform, Cubs baseball uniform.
- 48:12Speaker 1: I thought that was hilarious. And do you realize this
- 48:17Speaker 1: was the second highest attended sporting event in Wrigley history? Wow.
- 48:23Speaker 1: How do you like that? The second highest attended. And
- 48:28Speaker 1: I saw that, and it's like, that's pretty cool.
- 48:31Speaker 2: Well, now that's weird. That just popped up on my Twitter.
- 48:35Speaker 1: What is? That stat. Oh, seriously?
- 48:38Speaker 2: TJ tweeted it out about an hour ago.
- 48:40Speaker 1: Oh, okay.
- 48:41Speaker 2: It's right at the top. Cubs-Dodgers, 1947. Jackie Robinson's first
- 48:45Speaker 2: game at Chicago. Oh, really?
- 48:48Speaker 1: That was the first one. Is that a bit embarrassing
- 48:53Speaker 1: for the, for the Cubs that a volleyball game is
- 48:56Speaker 1: the second highest attended event at Wrigley field?
- 49:01Speaker 2: I mean, it is the Cubs we're talking about.
- 49:02Speaker 1: Yeah, but they're beloved. I mean, come on. That's a below.
- 49:07Speaker 1: Even though you and I are Reds fans, that is
- 49:09Speaker 1: a beloved team. Don't know why, but yeah, they are. I, Listen,
- 49:15Speaker 1: I don't either other than... The reason I always... enjoyed
- 49:20Speaker 1: the cubs because that was the game we could watch
- 49:22Speaker 1: on tv a wgn would show them so and i
- 49:26Speaker 1: became a huge it wasn't because of the cubs it
- 49:29Speaker 1: was because i became a fan of harry carry you
- 49:32Speaker 1: like drunks.
- 49:34Speaker 2: You like listening to drunk guys talk.
- 49:36Speaker 1: Oh, my gosh. Evidently, I do. He was great.
- 49:39Speaker 2: Have you ever watched Brockmire? What's Brockmire? Brockmire.
- 49:44Speaker 1: Oh, yeah. With Hank Azaria. Yeah. No, I have not.
- 49:48Speaker 1: Is it good?
- 49:49Speaker 2: Oh, if you like Terry Carey, you will love Brockmire.
- 49:52Speaker 1: Oh, you know what? That's another guy that does voices.
- 49:55Speaker 1: You know, he did a bunch of voices on The Simpsons. Yeah.
- 50:00Speaker 2: But you got to be careful with that show. Don't
- 50:02Speaker 2: go past the second season. It's bad. Oh, it's horrible.
- 50:05Speaker 1: Oh, is it really? Horrible. Is it no longer on?
- 50:09Speaker 1: I don't think so. Yeah. It's interesting. There are shows
- 50:12Speaker 1: out there. It's like the first season was fantastic. This
- 50:15Speaker 1: is one of them. Is it really? And then there
- 50:17Speaker 1: are other shows where the first season was just eh,
- 50:22Speaker 1: and then the more you watch it, the more you
- 50:24Speaker 1: got into it. I would say... Probably the one with
- 50:30Speaker 1: Steve Martin and Martin Short, only murders in the building.
- 50:35Speaker 1: It kind of starts out slow, and then it only
- 50:38Speaker 1: gets better. I would say Poop Creek is that way, too.
- 50:41Speaker 1: It kind of starts out, the first couple of episodes
- 50:44Speaker 1: are just kind of okay.
- 50:45Speaker 2: Yeah, but that's fine with a show like that because
- 50:47Speaker 2: the episodes are only like 20 minutes.
- 50:50Speaker 1: Yeah, that's a great, well, only murders in the building
- 50:53Speaker 1: is not only 20 minutes. It's about 45, isn't it? Yeah, exactly.
- 50:57Speaker 2: If you've got two or three episodes to start a
- 51:00Speaker 2: season that are horrible or slow and it's 45 minutes long,
- 51:05Speaker 2: odds are I'm probably not sticking it with it.
- 51:08Speaker 1: Really? Okay, yeah. The one that I really had that
- 51:11Speaker 1: I really got into was Peaky Blinders. But I had
- 51:15Speaker 1: to turn on closed caption. I... I would say probably
- 51:21Speaker 1: 45% of the time, I could not understand a thing
- 51:25Speaker 1: they were saying. Did you ever watch Peaky Blinders? I
- 51:28Speaker 1: never did, no. You should go back and watch Peaky Blinders.
- 51:32Speaker 1: Phenomenal show. I'm not kidding. The guy that's a star
- 51:36Speaker 1: in that show is unbelievable. He was the guy that
- 51:39Speaker 1: was in the Atomic Bomb movie, whatever that movie was called.
- 51:42Speaker 2: Yeah, but if I have to watch it with closed captions.
- 51:47Speaker 1: Yeah, but you'll.
- 51:47Speaker 2: I don't want to read.
- 51:48Speaker 1: I want to watch. Well, see, that's my problem, too,
- 51:51Speaker 1: because I'm so ADD that, okay, it's disrupting. My wife
- 51:55Speaker 1: always has closed caption on now ever since then. It's like, Patricia,
- 51:59Speaker 1: I can't concentrate on what we're watching because the words
- 52:02Speaker 1: keep coming up. Can we please turn that off?
- 52:05Speaker 2: That's why I can't watch something, like, foreign. Like, there
- 52:09Speaker 2: was a show I got into for a little bit,
- 52:11Speaker 2: and it was all Spanish speaking.
- 52:14Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 52:15Speaker 2: And I was reading the whole time.
- 52:16Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah.
- 52:17Speaker 2: And it's like I'm not– if I'm watching something, I
- 52:20Speaker 2: want to watch the actors and the actresses because that's
- 52:23Speaker 2: the– to me, that's the amazing part of what they
- 52:27Speaker 2: do is just– Their facial expressions.
- 52:30Speaker 1: The way they move and talk.
- 52:32Speaker 2: Yeah, exactly. And if you're having to read closed captions,
- 52:35Speaker 2: you're missing out.
- 52:36Speaker 1: On a lot. And if they're talking really fast, the
- 52:38Speaker 1: closed captions go really fast. And I can't read fast enough.
- 52:42Speaker 1: It's like, screw it, I'm done. If they come up
- 52:45Speaker 1: and it's just this whole long paragraph, it's like, I'm
- 52:47Speaker 1: not even reading it because I know it's going to
- 52:49Speaker 1: be off in a couple of seconds. And I can't
- 52:51Speaker 1: read it fast enough. I'm just, my ADD just gets
- 52:54Speaker 1: me going. It's like, screw it, I'm done.
- 52:56Speaker 2: First world problems.
- 52:57Speaker 1: Yeah, I know it. I know it. UK football is
- 53:01Speaker 1: going to have two honorary captains for the Alabama game
- 53:05Speaker 1: this weekend. Can you guess who they are?
- 53:07Speaker 2: Tim Couch.
- 53:08Speaker 1: Oh, you already know.
- 53:09Speaker 2: And I forgot the second.
- 53:11Speaker 1: Craig East. Craig East.
- 53:12Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 53:12Speaker 1: You know why it's those two, right? Yeah. Yeah. If
- 53:15Speaker 1: you don't know, it's because they were on the 1997 team,
- 53:19Speaker 1: the last team that was able to beat Alabama. Of course,
- 53:21Speaker 1: they had the famous pass by Tim Couch to Craig
- 53:25Speaker 1: Ease that won the game. The part that I remember
- 53:29Speaker 1: distinctly the most about that game, which I was in
- 53:31Speaker 1: attendance at Commonwealth Stadium, is the fact that everyone rushed
- 53:35Speaker 1: the field. And then I look up at the Alabama
- 53:39Speaker 1: visiting section. A good portion of those fans stayed there
- 53:44Speaker 1: to watch. And I'm like, that's pretty cool that the
- 53:48Speaker 1: Alabama fans stayed in their seats to watch UK storm
- 53:51Speaker 1: the field.
- 53:52Speaker 2: You know what else is cool?
- 53:53Speaker 1: What?
- 53:54Speaker 2: I was seven when that came to me.
- 53:56Speaker 1: Really?
- 53:57Speaker 2: That was the last time Kentucky beat Alabama, and I
- 54:00Speaker 2: was seven years old.
- 54:01Speaker 1: Okay. That's crazy. I was 31. Yeah. Wow.
- 54:07Speaker 2: Make it happen, Captain.
- 54:08Speaker 1: And I had one child. Wow, man. And you were seven.
- 54:13Speaker 1: Good gosh, I'm old. But anyway, I think that's great.
- 54:18Speaker 1: Do you think that UK should have the rest of
- 54:22Speaker 1: the roster on the field to celebrate with them?
- 54:28Speaker 2: I mean, if they want to be there, sure.
- 54:30Speaker 1: No, no, I like to honor them.
- 54:35Speaker 2: I mean, I guess my question would be, what did
- 54:37Speaker 2: that team go on and end up doing?
- 54:39Speaker 1: Nothing.
- 54:40Speaker 2: Because if you're bringing them back just to honor them
- 54:42Speaker 2: for beating Alabama, that looks a little cheesy.
- 54:44Speaker 1: See, and that's a bit of the problem right there,
- 54:48Speaker 1: is that they lost to a 1-10 UofL, Indiana 2-9,
- 54:54Speaker 1: Alabama was 4-7, Monroe was 5-7, and Vandy was 3-8.
- 54:56Speaker 1: You lost to those games? UK ended up 5-6. I
- 54:58Speaker 1: don't think they lost to UofL. But yeah, they were
- 55:11Speaker 1: a 5-6 team and never beat a winning team the
- 55:18Speaker 1: entire season. Yeah, so they beat UofL, they beat Indiana,
- 55:22Speaker 1: they beat Alabama, they beat Monroe, and they beat Vandy.
- 55:26Speaker 1: And UofL was 1-10 that season, Indiana was 2-9, Alabama
- 55:29Speaker 1: was 4-7, Monroe was 5-7, and Vandy was 3-8. So
- 55:34Speaker 1: do you think it's because our good friend Larry Vaught
- 55:39Speaker 1: is saying bring back the entire team. I think Larry's
- 55:41Speaker 1: just being nice. But do you bring back a team
- 55:44Speaker 1: that was overall five and six that year? No. After
- 55:48Speaker 1: beating Alabama, which went four and seven that year. Yeah.
- 55:52Speaker 1: But it's probably a good idea to bring back Tim
- 55:55Speaker 1: Couch and Craig East. Yeah.
- 55:56Speaker 2: I mean, especially if they had a memorable play.
- 55:58Speaker 1: Yeah. Yeah. So, Larry, I kind of disagree with you.
- 56:02Speaker 1: I don't think they should bring back.
- 56:05Speaker 2: By the way, him and Dr. John had back-to-back questions
- 56:09Speaker 2: in the Will Stein press conference yesterday.
- 56:11Speaker 1: Oh, did they really? You listened to it?
- 56:15Speaker 2: They played it on Kentucky Roll Call yesterday. Oh, you
- 56:18Speaker 2: were forced to listen to it.
- 56:19Speaker 1: Yeah. Okay, I got you.
- 56:21Speaker 2: Yeah, I thought that was fascinating. They both had a
- 56:23Speaker 2: question back-to-back.
- 56:24Speaker 1: Yeah. Well, typically, Larry doesn't go as much as he
- 56:27Speaker 1: used to, so I'm glad to hear that he was there.
- 56:29Speaker 2: I believe it was him. I could be wrong.
- 56:31Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah.
- 56:31Speaker 2: He's got a pretty distinct voice, though.
- 56:35Speaker 1: Will Stein made the comment that he wants and has challenged,
- 56:39Speaker 1: not a statement, but has challenged Big Blue Nation to
- 56:42Speaker 1: make Saturday's game the loudest game in the history of
- 56:45Speaker 1: UK football. Can they do that? I don't see why not.
- 56:52Speaker 1: I don't either. And I think they can just as
- 56:54Speaker 1: until Alabama scores a touchdown and then it quiets down.
- 56:59Speaker 1: The one time I can remember UK was the loudest
- 57:03Speaker 1: I've ever experienced. is after UK, I think it was
- 57:07Speaker 1: the 2018 season, and UK had just beaten Florida down
- 57:11Speaker 1: in Gainesville, and they decided, unfortunately, they had to play
- 57:15Speaker 1: Georgia the next weekend. That was, so I was out
- 57:19Speaker 1: there for the coin toss and the team coming out
- 57:23Speaker 1: and stuff. That was the loudest I had ever experienced
- 57:27Speaker 1: Commonwealth Stadium. It can be done. UK football can have
- 57:32Speaker 1: a great environment. Mm-hmm. I mean, a really nice environment
- 57:37Speaker 1: to where it feels like a football school.
- 57:39Speaker 2: I mean, you play in the SEC, so yeah, I
- 57:42Speaker 2: agree with that.
- 57:43Speaker 1: Yeah, so listen, I think the fan base can react
- 57:47Speaker 1: to it. I think they can achieve that and make
- 57:49Speaker 1: it the loudest Commonwealth Stadium in the history of UK football.
- 57:53Speaker 1: I like that Will Stein's coming out and saying this
- 57:55Speaker 1: because that will help. Having a home field environment that
- 58:01Speaker 1: is of a successful quality Football school can help a
- 58:06Speaker 1: team play better.
- 58:08Speaker 2: My question is, who's judging this? When this game's over,
- 58:13Speaker 2: who's going to be the one that comes out and says,
- 58:15Speaker 2: this was or wasn't the loudest it's ever been?
- 58:18Speaker 1: Isn't the Seahawks, don't they always claim to be the loudest? Yep,
- 58:22Speaker 1: 12th man. All right, so can't you get one of
- 58:26Speaker 1: those monitors that come out and really test to see
- 58:30Speaker 1: how loud it is getting as far as decibels?
- 58:32Speaker 2: Yeah, but it's not like we have decibel readings from.
- 58:35Speaker 1: The past games. I think it would be just purely
- 58:39Speaker 1: a judgment call. I can tell you that was the
- 58:42Speaker 1: loudest game I've ever been to was UK-Georgia at Commonwealth.
- 58:45Speaker 2: I don't think I was serious about asking that. It
- 58:47Speaker 2: was more tongue-in-cheek.
- 58:48Speaker 1: Oh, come on. I think that's a great idea. I'm
- 58:50Speaker 1: taking you seriously. We should be able to measure that.
- 58:53Speaker 1: We should. I just think it'd be kind of fun.
- 58:58Speaker 1: Don't you think that's one of those things that would
- 58:59Speaker 1: be fun to look back at and say, oh, yeah,
- 59:02Speaker 1: that was the loudest game and I was there.
- 59:04Speaker 2: Should there be some sort of incentive tied to it?
- 59:08Speaker 2: Like if we get proof. on the decibel readings that
- 59:11Speaker 2: this was the loudest game ever, free chicken basket for all.
- 59:15Speaker 1: It's free beer. That would probably be better. That'd be worse.
- 59:19Speaker 1: But anyway, you don't want loud drunks. You want loud,
- 59:22Speaker 1: sober people. I disagree. All right. So, yeah. All right.
- 59:26Speaker 1: I think you're on to something. If the louder you
- 59:29Speaker 1: cheer and we get to that fourth quarter and it's
- 59:32Speaker 1: still really loud, you should get a sponsor out there
- 59:37Speaker 1: that will give you a chicken basket or something, or
- 59:39Speaker 1: a free chicken sandwich. Why are we talking chicken? Why
- 59:42Speaker 1: can't it be a hamburger? I don't know. I must
- 59:45Speaker 1: be craving chicken. Are you partial to chicken? Is that
- 59:47Speaker 1: what it is? Oh, very much so. Are you really? Yeah.
- 59:50Speaker 1: I get burned out at chicken. I love chicken.
- 59:52Speaker 2: Do you?
- 59:53Speaker 1: Okay. Well, I'm glad for you. Let's get back to
- 59:56Speaker 1: the whiskey tea. Oh, geez. Here we go.
- 59:59Speaker 2: All right.
- 1:00:03Speaker 1: Uh, John texted back in. Let's clarify something. I'm not
- 1:00:07Speaker 1: saying Kenny Minchie. Come on, John. You are saying, and
- 1:00:10Speaker 1: I want you to say it. Uh, Kenny Minchie has
- 1:00:13Speaker 1: already shown, uh, wait, did I? Yeah. Uh, Kenny Mitchell
- 1:00:18Speaker 1: has already shown the talent level of Joe Montana or Patrick, uh, Mahomes.
- 1:00:23Speaker 1: He's not saying. I know he's not. When I brought
- 1:00:26Speaker 1: up those names, I was talking about how quarterbacks often
- 1:00:29Speaker 1: have unique names. They're not just standard names. They usually
- 1:00:33Speaker 1: have a strong last name or something that sounds different
- 1:00:37Speaker 1: from most people. Plus, they have a certain build and
- 1:00:41Speaker 1: a different skill set. So I'm not pulling our guy
- 1:00:44Speaker 1: on their level just yet. Can he get there?
- 1:00:48Speaker 4: Yes.
- 1:00:48Speaker 1: Yes. Does his name have that NFL quarterback sound to it? Yes.
- 1:00:53Speaker 1: That's the whole point of picking a horse by a
- 1:00:56Speaker 1: strange name. In this case, you're picking a quarterback by
- 1:00:58Speaker 1: the NFL style name. Could Kenny Minchie get to the
- 1:01:02Speaker 1: level of Mahomes, Montana, Brady, and Manning? Yes. And he
- 1:01:07Speaker 1: may not be that far off. The dude has great intelligence,
- 1:01:11Speaker 1: athletic eligibility, a strong arm, and a unique NFL name.
- 1:01:15Speaker 1: There you go. So I appreciate the clarification. You said
- 1:01:18Speaker 1: that yesterday. I get it. But I was still having
- 1:01:20Speaker 1: fun with it because it is funny that you're still
- 1:01:23Speaker 1: mentioning his name with those other two players.
- 1:01:25Speaker 2: John, if Kenny Menchie goes on to be an NFL
- 1:01:28Speaker 2: Hall of Famer, you're going to be the first guy.
- 1:01:30Speaker 1: Yes, exactly. Because, you know, I look back at former
- 1:01:34Speaker 1: UK players that had great football names. The first one
- 1:01:38Speaker 1: always comes to my mind is Gunnar Hoek. Your quarterback,
- 1:01:43Speaker 1: Gunner Hoke. Yeah.
- 1:01:44Speaker 2: Gunner's a great name.
- 1:01:45Speaker 1: That's a great name. And I know there's other ones
- 1:01:48Speaker 1: out there. Brock Vandegrift. I always thought it was a
- 1:01:51Speaker 1: great football name.
- 1:01:52Speaker 2: Turns out it's a great fisherman and hunter.
- 1:01:56Speaker 1: Well, yeah, you're right about that. And not wanting to
- 1:01:58Speaker 1: play football anymore. I always thought Pookie Jones was a
- 1:02:01Speaker 1: great name for a quarterback. I mean, there's some great
- 1:02:04Speaker 1: names out there. and uh pookie feels like an unfortunate
- 1:02:09Speaker 1: name oh i loved pookie jones no he was one
- 1:02:12Speaker 1: of my favorites isn't that something that your grandma called
- 1:02:15Speaker 1: you back in the day right absolutely come here pookie
- 1:02:18Speaker 1: okay would you go to sweet pea burns and say
- 1:02:21Speaker 1: oh isn't that something your grandma would come and say
- 1:02:23Speaker 1: sweet pea yeah i guarantee you dude would step all
- 1:02:26Speaker 1: over and you'd be five feet under the ground because
- 1:02:28Speaker 1: he just simply stepped on you.
- 1:02:30Speaker 2: Your grandma call you anything crazy Uh, I didn't know
- 1:02:33Speaker 2: one grandmother and the other one.
- 1:02:36Speaker 1: Uh, no, not really.
- 1:02:37Speaker 2: My grandma always called me pumpkin. Really?
- 1:02:39Speaker 1: Yeah. I had the misfortune of not really knowing my grandparents.
- 1:02:44Speaker 1: So my, my dad's side, they were already gone. And
- 1:02:46Speaker 1: my mom's side, uh, we just weren't around him much.
- 1:02:50Speaker 1: So it just kind of sucks, but sorry to bring
- 1:02:52Speaker 1: it up. That's okay. No, it's no big deal. She
- 1:02:54Speaker 1: was a loving person and she did the best she could. Um,
- 1:02:59Speaker 1: LSU would be perfect for some action. Could you imagine? Oh,
- 1:03:07Speaker 1: my gosh. Yeah, but nobody would watch that. And I
- 1:03:10Speaker 1: don't think the LSU fans would enjoy it. Just like
- 1:03:14Speaker 1: when you said LSU to the ACC, LSU fans wouldn't
- 1:03:18Speaker 1: enjoy that. I mean, would you enjoy it if IU
- 1:03:22Speaker 1: was in the MAAC?
- 1:03:24Speaker 2: I mean, it'd be a lot of fun winning every
- 1:03:26Speaker 2: game every year. Of course, we've talked about it again.
- 1:03:28Speaker 2: We just did that in the Big Ten, baby.
- 1:03:30Speaker 1: Oh, yeah. Well, a lot of people said UK always
- 1:03:34Speaker 1: should have been the ACC because they compete on the
- 1:03:37Speaker 1: basketball level. At the time, ACC was one of the
- 1:03:40Speaker 1: better conferences, if not the best. It's no longer that way.
- 1:03:45Speaker 1: And they would have definitely competed really well on the
- 1:03:49Speaker 1: football side. But I'm glad they're in the SEC. Listen,
- 1:03:52Speaker 1: they're making a lot of money in the SEC, and
- 1:03:54Speaker 1: the ACC doesn't make near the money that the SEC does.
- 1:03:59Speaker 1: Tennessee and USC fans may disagree with John about Kiffin.
- 1:04:04Speaker 1: It's true. You think so? If a great coach beats
- 1:04:08Speaker 1: my team consistently, I respect him, but I don't like him.
- 1:04:15Speaker 2: That's a good way to put it. I can have
- 1:04:18Speaker 2: respect for coaches that I don't like.
- 1:04:19Speaker 1: Can you? This is Buzz saying that. I don't know.
- 1:04:23Speaker 1: I mean, we still, Calipari, when he was still at UK,
- 1:04:31Speaker 1: but that's different. He beat Rick Pitino on a regular basis,
- 1:04:36Speaker 1: and we didn't respect him, and that was because he
- 1:04:38Speaker 1: left him with the UofL. I don't know if there's
- 1:04:41Speaker 1: a really, all right, I'll use Rick Barnes. I respect
- 1:04:46Speaker 1: Rick Barnes. I don't like Tennessee, but I certainly respect
- 1:04:48Speaker 1: Rick Barnes. I actually like Rick Barnes. Josh Heupel, I
- 1:04:52Speaker 1: don't care for. I just, I don't dislike, I don't like.
- 1:04:56Speaker 1: How's that? I just don't, I don't have any feel
- 1:04:58Speaker 1: for Josh Heupel. There's nothing about him that he says
- 1:05:04Speaker 1: anything outside of what Elaine Kiffin says. I can see
- 1:05:10Speaker 1: how Elaine Kiffin is disliked.
- 1:05:12Speaker 2: My only issue with Heupel is he just, Doesn't he
- 1:05:15Speaker 2: kind of look like that guy that's going to jump
- 1:05:17Speaker 2: in front of everybody at the line in Thanksgiving? It's like, Josh,
- 1:05:22Speaker 2: the kids are supposed to eat first. But, no, he
- 1:05:25Speaker 2: looks like one of them guys that's just going to jump.
- 1:05:27Speaker 1: In the front. I'll take it a step further. He
- 1:05:29Speaker 1: looks like the guy that is at the gate waiting
- 1:05:33Speaker 1: on his airline, and they're calling between zone one, two,
- 1:05:36Speaker 1: and three, and he's standing right in front of everybody else.
- 1:05:40Speaker 1: Don't you dare get in front of me with his
- 1:05:42Speaker 1: bag ready. As soon as they say zone two, he's
- 1:05:45Speaker 1: going to jump up in front of everybody. That's what
- 1:05:48Speaker 1: he looks like. How's that?
- 1:05:49Speaker 2: Sir, you're zone 16. Yeah, but I'm ready.
- 1:05:51Speaker 1: Yeah, exactly. They literally ask people not to get in
- 1:05:57Speaker 1: front and stand in front of everybody, and everybody ignores that.
- 1:06:01Speaker 1: That is a pet peeve of mine, I will say.
- 1:06:03Speaker 2: I guarantee it.
- 1:06:04Speaker 1: Oh, yes. When people are up there, I'm zone 28,
- 1:06:08Speaker 1: but you know what? You're only on zone one, but
- 1:06:11Speaker 1: I'm going to be ready because nobody's getting in front
- 1:06:14Speaker 1: of me when they call my zone 24. She's like,
- 1:06:17Speaker 1: what is wrong with you? And then you got to
- 1:06:19Speaker 1: go up there and ask him, oh, I'm so sorry.
- 1:06:21Speaker 1: What zone are you? Oh, no, no, go ahead. I'm
- 1:06:23Speaker 1: way back here. It's like, well, then why are you
- 1:06:25Speaker 1: standing here? It is. Have a seat, pal. Exactly. Those
- 1:06:30Speaker 1: are the frustrating people to me. I think that's what,
- 1:06:34Speaker 1: I remember a ranking of pet peeves of people, and
- 1:06:38Speaker 1: I think that was one of the top ones out there. Oh,
- 1:06:41Speaker 1: I guarantee you. Was that right there. And then the
- 1:06:43Speaker 1: other one, as far as airlines, is when people stand
- 1:06:48Speaker 1: up When the plane has landed, it's at the gate,
- 1:06:51Speaker 1: and then people walk in front and try and get
- 1:06:53Speaker 1: way up in front of everybody else. It's like, no, no, no, no, no.
- 1:06:55Speaker 2: We go in order here.
- 1:06:56Speaker 1: Yeah, exactly. We go by row. If you wanted to
- 1:06:59Speaker 1: be up front, then you should have paid the money
- 1:07:01Speaker 1: to get the better seat. You don't get to run
- 1:07:03Speaker 1: in front of everybody.
- 1:07:05Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:07:06Speaker 1: Couldn't agree more.
- 1:07:06Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:07:07Speaker 1: Okay, good. I'm glad we agree on that. Oh, we
- 1:07:09Speaker 1: got to take a break. 502-414-1450. Keep sending me those
- 1:07:13Speaker 1: texts right there. We'll see you in a minute.
- 1:07:15Speaker 3: Outro Music.
- 1:07:52Speaker 4: Please allow me to introduce myself I'm a man of
- 1:07:57Speaker 4: will and taste I've been around for a long, long
- 1:08:03Speaker 4: year Stole many a man's soul from me I was
- 1:08:09Speaker 4: around when Jesus Christ had his moments of doubt and pain.
- 1:08:17Speaker 4: Made damn sure the pilot washed his hands and sealed
- 1:08:23Speaker 4: his face.
- 1:08:24Speaker 1: All right, so I was listening to an interview yesterday
- 1:08:29Speaker 1: of Mick Jagger. And the interviewer asked him what is
- 1:08:34Speaker 1: his favorite Rolling Stones song. And he hemmed and hawed
- 1:08:40Speaker 1: and didn't really want to answer the question. He says,
- 1:08:45Speaker 1: probably Sympathy with the Devil was his favorite song. And
- 1:08:49Speaker 1: that's the one you just played right there. Interesting choice. Really?
- 1:08:54Speaker 1: Why do you say that? He said, and then he
- 1:08:57Speaker 1: included uh, start me up. He said, that's probably one
- 1:09:01Speaker 1: of the songs I'm most proud of as well. He mentioned, uh,
- 1:09:04Speaker 1: Angie was another one. And I'm trying to think of, um,
- 1:09:09Speaker 1: another one that he had mentioned, but he said simply
- 1:09:12Speaker 1: for the devil.
- 1:09:13Speaker 2: I was kind of surprised. Although I think that's a
- 1:09:15Speaker 2: great one. Why do you say- No, it's good. It's
- 1:09:18Speaker 2: just that wouldn't be my top choice.
- 1:09:20Speaker 1: It wouldn't be? What would be? Because, you know, you
- 1:09:24Speaker 1: got the whole part that it's got to be fun
- 1:09:26Speaker 1: when they're up there singing and the crowd's going, whoo, whoo.
- 1:09:30Speaker 1: That probably is. See, they probably enjoy that.
- 1:09:34Speaker 2: I would likely go with painted black.
- 1:09:36Speaker 1: Oh, really? Oh, wow. That's a great choice, by the way.
- 1:09:42Speaker 1: I like that one. Give me shelter, maybe. Uh-huh. Yeah. Yeah. But,
- 1:09:46Speaker 1: you know- For the guys that are out there that
- 1:09:49Speaker 1: have bands like this, and they can just write hit
- 1:09:52Speaker 1: after hit after hit after hit, it's amazing to me
- 1:09:56Speaker 1: how they've done it. And I look at bands like this,
- 1:10:00Speaker 1: Rolling Stones. I look at bands like U2, possibly The Police,
- 1:10:07Speaker 1: but they haven't written anything in years. Even Mick Jagger
- 1:10:11Speaker 1: was saying their last album, Something Diamonds. He goes, I
- 1:10:16Speaker 1: was really proud of that album. He goes, I still
- 1:10:18Speaker 1: really like it. And that was music they wrote in
- 1:10:21Speaker 1: their late 70s, early 80s. It's like, good gosh, man.
- 1:10:24Speaker 1: That's just amazing how these people have, certain musicians have
- 1:10:29Speaker 1: that knack to just write a hit.
- 1:10:32Speaker 2: When you get good at something.
- 1:10:34Speaker 1: I guess so.
- 1:10:35Speaker 2: Get good at it.
- 1:10:36Speaker 1: But then you think about the bands that wrote hits
- 1:10:38Speaker 1: when they were young, when they were like late teens,
- 1:10:42Speaker 1: early 20s, early 30s, and then they never write another
- 1:10:45Speaker 1: one again.
- 1:10:45Speaker 2: Hanson.
- 1:10:47Speaker 1: Oh, my gosh. That's a phenomenal example right there. Bebop?
- 1:10:52Speaker 1: Is that the name of it? Oombop. Oombop.
- 1:10:54Speaker 2: I was close.
- 1:10:55Speaker 1: Terrible. Man, I can remember that on spring break. I
- 1:10:59Speaker 1: was in Key West.
- 1:11:00Speaker 2: That song rocked.
- 1:11:02Speaker 1: Oh, my gosh. They kept playing it over and over
- 1:11:05Speaker 1: and over. It's like, please stop that song. And where
- 1:11:09Speaker 1: is Hanson today? I think they're still together, aren't they?
- 1:11:12Speaker 1: No way. I think they are. They look completely different. But, man.
- 1:11:16Speaker 2: Do they look like boys now?
- 1:11:18Speaker 1: No. They are just, oh, that is an irritating band.
- 1:11:23Speaker 2: They are still together. Yeah, I told you they were.
- 1:11:26Speaker 2: But he can't sound the same, can he? There is
- 1:11:28Speaker 2: no way any of their music's any good.
- 1:11:30Speaker 1: Yeah. That's what I would think.
- 1:11:32Speaker 2: They do kind of look like boys now, for what
- 1:11:34Speaker 2: it's worth.
- 1:11:34Speaker 1: Yeah. Oh, they do?
- 1:11:36Speaker 2: One of them still looks like a girl, but.
- 1:11:39Speaker 1: Oh, he's still got the long hair? Somewhat long. Okay, yeah.
- 1:11:44Speaker 1: It is unique when you see somebody, a famous person,
- 1:11:49Speaker 1: that has long hair, and then you end up cutting it.
- 1:11:52Speaker 1: It's like, oh, I liked you better with the long hair.
- 1:11:54Speaker 2: I'm going to have to go listen to some Hanson today.
- 1:11:56Speaker 1: Oh, please, no. Catch some new stuff. No, no. You
- 1:11:59Speaker 1: play that on this show. I'll rank that up there
- 1:12:02Speaker 1: with playing the Beatles or.
- 1:12:03Speaker 2: The Beach Boys. That is not part of the music today.
- 1:12:06Speaker 1: Okay, good, yeah. Yeah, I don't care if they write
- 1:12:08Speaker 1: a devil song or not. You're not playing on here.
- 1:12:11Speaker 1: One person texted in 502-414-1450. Okay to shut down tailgate
- 1:12:16Speaker 1: 30 minutes before the game? No. Is that what they do? No. Well,
- 1:12:22Speaker 1: I don't know if they do or not. I don't
- 1:12:23Speaker 1: think so. But I don't know. Let's think about that because,
- 1:12:28Speaker 1: you know, if they do shut it down 30 minutes
- 1:12:30Speaker 1: before the game, that means you're going to get in
- 1:12:32Speaker 1: your seat and ready to go. Which will be advantageous
- 1:12:35Speaker 1: for the team. Exactly. So if you want your team
- 1:12:38Speaker 1: to win, you want to support your team, I say
- 1:12:40Speaker 1: you do shut it down 30 minutes before the game. Now,
- 1:12:43Speaker 1: if you don't want to go 30 minutes before the game,
- 1:12:45Speaker 1: be in your seat, ready, cheering, and pumped up about
- 1:12:48Speaker 1: this game this week, that's your prerogative. I feel bad
- 1:12:51Speaker 1: for you, but I was always in my seat as
- 1:12:54Speaker 1: a fan before I became, you know, whatever I am today.
- 1:12:58Speaker 1: I was always in my seat at least 30 minutes
- 1:13:01Speaker 1: before the game started. I like to see the team
- 1:13:03Speaker 1: warming up out there. I like seeing everything. I like
- 1:13:06Speaker 1: seeing the visiting team, what they look like. You got
- 1:13:09Speaker 1: to take in the atmosphere. Exactly. I like hearing the music.
- 1:13:13Speaker 1: I like everything about college football. So if you're not
- 1:13:17Speaker 1: in your seat 30 minutes before the game, yes, I
- 1:13:20Speaker 1: was shutting down my tailgate 30 minutes, at least 30
- 1:13:23Speaker 1: minutes before.
- 1:13:24Speaker 2: When I do my broadcasting stuff, I'm usually there about
- 1:13:27Speaker 2: two hours before the game, whether it's football, basketball, soccer, whatever.
- 1:13:31Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:13:31Speaker 2: Because I like to take in the atmosphere.
- 1:13:33Speaker 1: I do too.
- 1:13:33Speaker 2: And I'll never understand the broadcasters that get there like
- 1:13:38Speaker 2: 30 minutes before they go on air. And it's like
- 1:13:40Speaker 2: you haven't even allowed yourself to acclimate to where you're
- 1:13:43Speaker 2: at and what you're surrounded with.
- 1:13:45Speaker 1: Right. I mean, even with what I do today, I'm
- 1:13:49Speaker 1: in the stadium– There are times I would be there
- 1:13:52Speaker 1: a couple hours before they even open the gates. I
- 1:13:55Speaker 1: just like taking it in and watching and getting myself
- 1:13:58Speaker 1: prepared and relaxing.
- 1:14:00Speaker 2: In that situation, it's really cool to be in an
- 1:14:04Speaker 2: empty stadium and it's all quiet and you see the
- 1:14:07Speaker 2: workers hustling and bustling to try to get ready for
- 1:14:10Speaker 2: opening gates.
- 1:14:11Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:14:11Speaker 2: And then from going to that to just a complete
- 1:14:15Speaker 2: madhouse in a couple of hours is just, It's a
- 1:14:18Speaker 2: cool thing to experience.
- 1:14:19Speaker 1: It is. And so, yeah, I want everybody to shut
- 1:14:23Speaker 1: it down as early as you can and get there. Listen,
- 1:14:27Speaker 1: the game's at 3.30. You've got plenty of time. Keen
- 1:14:31Speaker 1: was not open yet. That doesn't happen until next month.
- 1:14:33Speaker 1: Get there early. Tailgate. Enjoy yourself. Maybe have an adult beverage.
- 1:14:39Speaker 1: Not too many.
- 1:14:40Speaker 2: But what about those people that only tailgate? Like they
- 1:14:43Speaker 2: don't have tickets to the game, but they want to
- 1:14:45Speaker 2: be immersed around other UK fans. You're going to tell
- 1:14:48Speaker 2: them 30 minutes prior to the game that they got
- 1:14:50Speaker 2: to leave too?
- 1:14:51Speaker 1: No, absolutely not. They stay there the entire time. Watch
- 1:14:54Speaker 1: the game at your tailgate. Enjoy it. So yeah. Put
- 1:14:59Speaker 1: a sign up says I'm only here for the tailgate.
- 1:15:01Speaker 1: How's that? So there you go. But yeah, listen, I
- 1:15:05Speaker 1: think that'd be a great t-shirt. Just the cats. I'm
- 1:15:07Speaker 1: only here for the tailgate. Uh, but no, I listen, uh,
- 1:15:11Speaker 1: if you're going to the game, I should, I think
- 1:15:12Speaker 1: you should shut it down and just leave it there.
- 1:15:14Speaker 1: I mean, that's, that's the one thing about Ole Miss, uh,
- 1:15:18Speaker 1: that I always admired. Everybody leaves everything out and nobody
- 1:15:22Speaker 1: touches a thing. Yeah. It is how it should be.
- 1:15:27Speaker 1: Unfortunately in today's times, it doesn't happen. Uh, one person
- 1:15:31Speaker 1: texting it, it was the second highest attendance at Wrigley
- 1:15:33Speaker 1: field because they are, there were seats on the field
- 1:15:36Speaker 1: that are not there during baseball games.
- 1:15:39Speaker 2: Well, then how the Dodgers and Cubs get that many.
- 1:15:42Speaker 1: Yeah. There weren't seats on the baseball field at that time.
- 1:15:45Speaker 2: Besides, I mean, they could have, honestly, they could have
- 1:15:48Speaker 2: added probably another 5,000 seats on the field.
- 1:15:51Speaker 1: Yeah, there was a few vacant spots, wasn't there, that
- 1:15:55Speaker 1: they could have added? So the best seats in the
- 1:15:57Speaker 1: house were really the outfield seats, weren't they? Oh, absolutely.
- 1:16:00Speaker 2: Not even close.
- 1:16:01Speaker 1: Yeah, because you're a little elevated right there, and you're
- 1:16:05Speaker 1: closer to the action. Yeah, way closer. Yeah, yeah. Even
- 1:16:10Speaker 1: if you were behind the home plate on the upper level,
- 1:16:13Speaker 1: we're better than the home plate on the first level.
- 1:16:15Speaker 1: You can see over everybody. Yep. Yeah, I hope those
- 1:16:20Speaker 1: were not sold at a high price, hopefully for a
- 1:16:22Speaker 1: lower price.
- 1:16:23Speaker 2: Isn't that weird, though, that the seats behind home plate
- 1:16:26Speaker 2: were probably selling for outfield prices and the outfield seats
- 1:16:29Speaker 2: were probably selling for premium prices?
- 1:16:31Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, exactly. That is different, yeah. One person texted in,
- 1:16:36Speaker 1: I probably need closed caption to fully understand Sofia Vergara,
- 1:16:41Speaker 1: but think I'll suffer through it.
- 1:16:43Speaker 2: I don't need closed captions for her. No, she's funny.
- 1:16:47Speaker 2: Everything that comes out of her mouth is like music
- 1:16:50Speaker 2: to my ears.
- 1:16:50Speaker 1: She's the lady that was on that one TV show, right? Yeah,
- 1:16:56Speaker 1: that's her. What was it called? She is... The whole family? Oh,
- 1:17:03Speaker 1: Modern Family? Modern Family. Okay, yeah. I love her. Yes, yes.
- 1:17:08Speaker 1: She is beautiful.
- 1:17:09Speaker 2: She's probably my biggest celebrity crush.
- 1:17:12Speaker 1: Is she really? No, not for me. But she is beautiful.
- 1:17:15Speaker 1: But I think the even more attractive part about her,
- 1:17:18Speaker 1: she is legitimately funny. And I love listening to her.
- 1:17:22Speaker 1: Honoring a 5-6 team is the most UK football thing ever.
- 1:17:29Speaker 1: That is true. You are absolutely correct. The loudest I
- 1:17:33Speaker 1: ever heard Commonwealth Stadium was that after Steven Johnson ran
- 1:17:37Speaker 1: it in for a TD against Tennessee late in the
- 1:17:40Speaker 1: game to give UK a win.
- 1:17:41Speaker 2: Was that Stevie got loose?
- 1:17:43Speaker 1: No, no. Stevie got loose. This is Steven Johnson. Oh.
- 1:17:46Speaker 1: We're talking about two different ones. I know. He's the
- 1:17:49Speaker 1: wider seat. Steven Johnson was the quarterback. Yeah. Yeah. That
- 1:17:54Speaker 1: was loud, yes. But you talking about Stevie Johnson catching
- 1:17:59Speaker 1: the pass and running it in against UofL was one
- 1:18:03Speaker 1: of the louder ones. But it was not as loud
- 1:18:07Speaker 1: as the Georgia game. And unfortunately, it was only loud
- 1:18:10Speaker 1: when the game started and then Georgia took over and
- 1:18:12Speaker 1: it was quiet the rest of the time. So one
- 1:18:16Speaker 1: person texted, I'm irritated by people that clap after landing
- 1:18:20Speaker 1: on a plane. I'm sorry. That's a minimum requirement I
- 1:18:24Speaker 1: have in a pilot. Not like we're flying with the
- 1:18:27Speaker 1: blue angels. That is true. I never, maybe, I don't know.
- 1:18:34Speaker 1: I guess if you're on a long flight, the longest
- 1:18:38Speaker 1: flight I've ever been on is from Dallas, Texas to Shanghai, China.
- 1:18:42Speaker 1: 15 hours and people clap. I can kind of see
- 1:18:47Speaker 1: why you'd clap. I don't clap. I think it's silly, too.
- 1:18:50Speaker 1: I think it's mostly people that probably don't fly a
- 1:18:53Speaker 1: lot and they're excited about their vacation. I don't know.
- 1:18:57Speaker 2: What's your favorite part of flying?
- 1:19:01Speaker 1: You're not going to like it, but probably turbulence.
- 1:19:04Speaker 2: No, I mean, I can understand that because my favorite
- 1:19:07Speaker 2: part is when we land. It is really, I just
- 1:19:10Speaker 2: think it's, there's so many things that can go wrong.
- 1:19:13Speaker 2: And that feeling that overcomes you when you finally get
- 1:19:15Speaker 2: all wheels on the, on the tarmac.
- 1:19:18Speaker 1: Yeah. Incredible. Well, that, those are the most dangerous parts
- 1:19:20Speaker 1: of flying is takeoff and landing. I probably like the
- 1:19:23Speaker 1: thrust of us taking off.
- 1:19:24Speaker 2: Yeah. Taking off is a lot of fun too.
- 1:19:26Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:19:26Speaker 2: That feeling you get.
- 1:19:27Speaker 1: And here's the crazy part. Years ago, when Southwest first
- 1:19:30Speaker 1: came out, Southwest airlines, they had a lounge area to
- 1:19:35Speaker 1: where it was a table area. And three chairs facing
- 1:19:38Speaker 1: each other. So people would sit backwards flying on the plane.
- 1:19:43Speaker 1: Some people didn't like it and would feel ill.
- 1:19:46Speaker 2: I don't know if I could do that.
- 1:19:47Speaker 1: I loved it. So when we would take off and
- 1:19:50Speaker 1: you're thrusting forward onto the table, it was awesome.
- 1:19:53Speaker 2: No, I loved it. Michael, why are you laying on
- 1:19:55Speaker 2: the table?
- 1:19:56Speaker 1: Oh, yeah. I'm just sitting backwards. Exactly. It was awesome. But, yeah,
- 1:20:01Speaker 1: that was one of my favorite things to be a
- 1:20:04Speaker 1: part of. Uh, let me make sure I get all
- 1:20:06Speaker 1: of these.
- 1:20:06Speaker 2: I think you got Jimmy.
- 1:20:08Speaker 1: What's that?
- 1:20:09Speaker 2: Did you read Jimmy rough? I don't think you did.
- 1:20:12Speaker 1: Uh, well, I'm on 48 handily right now. Uh, if
- 1:20:16Speaker 1: strong names matter, Charlie would still be coaching football at
- 1:20:19Speaker 1: U of L. Hey, Oh, wow. You know that you
- 1:20:24Speaker 1: could go through the whole list of former U of
- 1:20:27Speaker 1: L football coaches that thought the grass was greener elsewhere
- 1:20:30Speaker 1: that I think would come. Completely go back to UofL
- 1:20:34Speaker 1: in a New York second and think, yeah, maybe I
- 1:20:38Speaker 1: should have stayed. Charlie Strong is one of them. I
- 1:20:40Speaker 1: would put John L. Smith as one of them that
- 1:20:43Speaker 1: probably regret making the next move. They were doing pretty good.
- 1:20:48Speaker 1: John L. Smith was doing really well at UofL. Charlie
- 1:20:51Speaker 1: Strong was probably doing okay. But I think John L.
- 1:20:55Speaker 1: would probably go back in a second. And Charlie Strong
- 1:20:58Speaker 1: would too. Paul McCartney wrote the Stones' first hit. I
- 1:21:01Speaker 1: didn't know that. Did you? No. Look up who their
- 1:21:07Speaker 1: first hit was. I had no idea about that. I
- 1:21:12Speaker 1: used to clap my hands when I exited an aircraft
- 1:21:15Speaker 1: on my reserve parachute. Okay. Wow. the moisture on the
- 1:21:21Speaker 1: court was condensation and dew that happens in the evening.
- 1:21:25Speaker 1: So that's talking about the second game. Thank you, Texter.
- 1:21:29Speaker 1: After UK beat Penn State. So I didn't realize that.
- 1:21:33Speaker 1: You'd think they could have done something about that. Couldn't they?
- 1:21:38Speaker 1: Is there a way they just could have dried it
- 1:21:40Speaker 1: without canceling the game altogether?
- 1:21:42Speaker 2: No, I mean, because you'd have to do that every
- 1:21:45Speaker 2: probably 10 minutes. I mean, you'd have to just wipe
- 1:21:49Speaker 2: the floor.
- 1:21:50Speaker 1: Yeah. All right. Whose text did I miss?
- 1:21:53Speaker 2: Jimmy Red.
- 1:21:54Speaker 1: Oh, I'm sorry about that. All right. The no headphone,
- 1:21:57Speaker 1: no hat rule is a Charlie Strong rule. Wills coached
- 1:22:03Speaker 1: and he followed him to Texas. Okay. I did not
- 1:22:07Speaker 1: realize that. I like that rule. And I didn't realize
- 1:22:11Speaker 1: it was a hat rule, too. But I'll have to
- 1:22:13Speaker 1: go back, and I think he's right. I think the
- 1:22:16Speaker 1: text– Jimmy Ref. Thank you, Jimmy Ref. By the way,
- 1:22:19Speaker 1: is that the first time he's ever texted in this show?
- 1:22:21Speaker 2: Maybe it is.
- 1:22:23Speaker 1: I don't think I've ever gotten a text from you
- 1:22:25Speaker 1: in this show, Jimmy Ref. And I want to tell
- 1:22:27Speaker 1: you how much I appreciate you texting in. I did
- 1:22:30Speaker 1: not know that, and that's pretty cool. Was Charlie Strong
- 1:22:33Speaker 1: the coach when Will played at– UofL I think he
- 1:22:38Speaker 1: was I don't remember which one it was but it
- 1:22:40Speaker 1: might have been Charlie Strong so he's implementing a Charlie
- 1:22:43Speaker 1: Strong rule and I think that's great and I'm okay
- 1:22:46Speaker 1: with that.
- 1:22:47Speaker 2: Went all the way back to May and yeah Jimmy
- 1:22:51Speaker 2: Ruff's never sent a text into the.
- 1:22:52Speaker 1: Show thank you Jimmy Ruff I want you to know
- 1:22:54Speaker 1: thank you very much for your text.
- 1:22:56Speaker 2: A lot of text into Spears good grief must be
- 1:22:58Speaker 2: an old guy oh really Okay.
- 1:23:01Speaker 1: Don't say that now. My gosh. Let's take our first
- 1:23:04Speaker 1: break and reset when we come back.
- 1:23:06Speaker 2: Our last break?
- 1:23:06Speaker 1: We're picking on old guys.
- 1:23:07Speaker 2: I don't want to take our first break. Can we
- 1:23:09Speaker 2: take the last one?
- 1:23:10Speaker 1: Oh, yeah, I know. We're taking our last break. Okay, sorry.
- 1:23:12Speaker 1: All right. I'm going John Wong long, so sorry about that.
- 1:23:16Speaker 1: Stay right there. More Just the Cats coming up. Nice
- 1:23:24Speaker 1: to meet you. Hope you get my name.
- 1:23:32Speaker 4: Music music music.
- 1:24:02Speaker 1: With flesh. I loved In Excess back in the day.
- 1:24:16Speaker 1: This was one of my favorite bands.
- 1:24:18Speaker 2: I bet this song was probably fun at concerts.
- 1:24:21Speaker 1: Oh, my gosh. I'm glad you said that because there
- 1:24:25Speaker 1: is a video of them in concert at the original
- 1:24:28Speaker 1: Wembley Stadium in London. And they start this one song
- 1:24:33Speaker 1: and the beat. Uh, and the whole crowd at Wembley stadium. Oh,
- 1:24:38Speaker 1: you know, it's seated over a hundred thousand people. They're
- 1:24:40Speaker 1: jumping up and down in sequence. It's the coolest video
- 1:24:44Speaker 1: I've ever seen. So yes, that's, that's a band I
- 1:24:47Speaker 1: never saw in concert. Now you're right. I think that
- 1:24:50Speaker 1: would have been a great song. Cooler, cooler than.
- 1:24:52Speaker 2: The video from Freddie Mercury at live aid.
- 1:24:55Speaker 1: Come on. It is. I get it. I get it.
- 1:25:00Speaker 1: But I'd have to go back and you watch that.
- 1:25:02Speaker 1: All right. You won't do it, but go back and
- 1:25:05Speaker 1: watch that. You're right. Okay, forget it. Let's just move on.
- 1:25:10Speaker 1: The NCAA has denied an appeal by the Mid-Atlantic Conference
- 1:25:14Speaker 1: to overtune the Michigan Wolverines' controversial 13-12 victory over Western Michigan,
- 1:25:20Speaker 1: ruling that its bylaws do not allow game results to
- 1:25:24Speaker 1: be changed. That is so NCAA right there. What do
- 1:25:29Speaker 1: you think? It doesn't matter. We all know that Michigan's 0-1. Yeah.
- 1:25:33Speaker 1: But the MAAC declares that replay protocol was not properly followed, though,
- 1:25:39Speaker 1: in the Michigan game. Yeah.
- 1:25:41Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean, I thought their statement they put out
- 1:25:43Speaker 2: yesterday where they laid it all out.
- 1:25:45Speaker 1: The MAAC?
- 1:25:46Speaker 2: Yeah, I thought it was well done.
- 1:25:47Speaker 1: I did, too.
- 1:25:49Speaker 2: I thought they had a serious case, but I never
- 1:25:51Speaker 2: really thought that it would be overturned.
- 1:25:53Speaker 1: You just... Have we ever seen that? No, not that
- 1:25:58Speaker 1: I can recall. I don't think we've ever seen that before,
- 1:26:00Speaker 1: but I don't know. The fact that the Mac is
- 1:26:04Speaker 1: coming out and fighting this and the AD at Western
- 1:26:07Speaker 1: Michigan and the head coach at Western Michigan is not
- 1:26:10Speaker 1: really saying anything. It bugs me. They should be coming
- 1:26:16Speaker 1: out and saying something. I mean, don't just sit back
- 1:26:19Speaker 1: and on your hands and say nothing about this fight
- 1:26:22Speaker 1: for yourself.
- 1:26:23Speaker 2: I think at the end of the day, both those
- 1:26:24Speaker 2: guys and even Western Kentucky fans know that they are
- 1:26:27Speaker 2: Western Western Kentucky and Michigan fans know that they won
- 1:26:30Speaker 2: that game. And on top of that, they got a
- 1:26:32Speaker 2: nice little paycheck. I understand.
- 1:26:34Speaker 1: But just because you get a paycheck doesn't mean you
- 1:26:37Speaker 1: have to shut your mouth.
- 1:26:38Speaker 2: But is Western Michigan going to be a playoff team?
- 1:26:41Speaker 1: No.
- 1:26:41Speaker 2: Then at the end of the day, this result's not
- 1:26:44Speaker 2: going to matter. Now, if they run roughshod through the
- 1:26:48Speaker 2: rest of their schedule and they finish 11-1, by God,
- 1:26:51Speaker 2: we're going to have an argument then.
- 1:26:53Speaker 1: What if Michigan goes undefeated the rest of the season?
- 1:26:57Speaker 2: They play Indiana, so that's not going to happen.
- 1:26:59Speaker 1: But let me play devil's advocate. What if they do?
- 1:27:03Speaker 2: It's not.
- 1:27:04Speaker 1: What if they go– hold on, hold on, hold on.
- 1:27:07Speaker 1: What if they lose– Because I think, let's start from
- 1:27:12Speaker 1: the beginning. What are the most losses that you think
- 1:27:16Speaker 1: a team will have getting into the playoffs?
- 1:27:18Speaker 2: Three.
- 1:27:19Speaker 1: Three. Okay. What if Michigan goes 11-3 and gets into
- 1:27:29Speaker 1: the playoffs? That would be 9-3.
- 1:27:30Speaker 2: I'm sorry, 9-3.
- 1:27:31Speaker 1: I guess 10-3 if they got to the Big Ten Championship.
- 1:27:35Speaker 1: All right, there you go. What if they did? That's
- 1:27:37Speaker 1: not happening, though. Oh, but, but let's, let's just say
- 1:27:40Speaker 1: it does though. And you know, they lost that game
- 1:27:43Speaker 1: and they would have not been allowed to be in
- 1:27:44Speaker 1: the playoffs.
- 1:27:45Speaker 2: Well, I think the committee will take that into consideration.
- 1:27:48Speaker 1: Oh, you think so?
- 1:27:48Speaker 2: I think that would be a game that they look
- 1:27:50Speaker 2: at heavily and that, and that scenario. But in fact,
- 1:27:54Speaker 2: the matter is Michigan's got Oklahoma this week. They're going
- 1:27:56Speaker 2: to get murdered. They got a game at Oregon at
- 1:27:59Speaker 2: Ohio state. As I mentioned, they do play my Hoosiers
- 1:28:02Speaker 2: as well. So they're going to lose their fair share
- 1:28:05Speaker 2: of games.
- 1:28:05Speaker 1: Yeah. Well, we'll see. But, uh, I just find that interesting.
- 1:28:09Speaker 1: One person texted in, Michael, talking about thrusting has me
- 1:28:12Speaker 1: feeling a bit uncomfortable this morning. Laugh out loud. Yeah,
- 1:28:17Speaker 1: I got you right there.
- 1:28:18Speaker 2: You were talking about thrusting?
- 1:28:19Speaker 1: Remember the thrust of the airplane when you were taking off? Yeah. Yeah.
- 1:28:23Speaker 1: UK Baseball revealed their 2027 baseball season. Hard to believe.
- 1:28:31Speaker 1: This is the 11th year of Nick Mingione. Exactly.
- 1:28:35Speaker 2: That's what I thought.
- 1:28:36Speaker 1: It's like, holy cow. By the way, Nick mingione's birthday
- 1:28:40Speaker 1: is tomorrow happy early birthday exactly not belated i know
- 1:28:44Speaker 1: you're about to say belated because i was waiting for
- 1:28:46Speaker 1: you to say belated uh but you assume uh no
- 1:28:49Speaker 1: i'm right about that no i'm not assuming anything i'm
- 1:28:52Speaker 1: right uh uk starts out the season march 19th through
- 1:28:55Speaker 1: the 21st it'll be here before you know it uh
- 1:28:58Speaker 1: start with georgia Missouri.
- 1:29:00Speaker 2: Can we get through football and basketball first?
- 1:29:02Speaker 1: Yeah, I know, but it's baseball. I mean, come on.
- 1:29:06Speaker 2: We're talking baseball schedule at the beginning of September.
- 1:29:08Speaker 1: What is that song? We're talking baseball. Yes, we're talking baseball.
- 1:29:13Speaker 1: Texas A & M at Vanderbilt at Oklahoma, Florida at Alabama,
- 1:29:17Speaker 1: South Carolina. at Arkansas and LSU.
- 1:29:19Speaker 2: Newsflash, Kentucky's still in the SEC, and their baseball schedule
- 1:29:22Speaker 2: every year is brutal.
- 1:29:24Speaker 1: It is. And there's your baseball update. You know, you
- 1:29:27Speaker 1: said it perfectly right there. I wasn't going to go
- 1:29:30Speaker 1: through it really slow. Let's break this down, Justin. I
- 1:29:33Speaker 1: was going to go through it real fast, but I
- 1:29:35Speaker 1: appreciate you making it even faster, so there you go. Anyway, Mike.
- 1:29:40Speaker 2: I'm not allowing you to talk college baseball on the
- 1:29:43Speaker 2: second week of September.
- 1:29:45Speaker 1: Whose show is this, by the way? I think you
- 1:29:48Speaker 1: just told me everything I need to know.
- 1:29:49Speaker 2: Some decisions got to be made from up above, and
- 1:29:52Speaker 2: that's what I decided to do.
- 1:29:54Speaker 1: Listen, tomorrow's starting. It's a brand new show. You got
- 1:29:57Speaker 1: starting out with Sunrise with Scoots and then Just the Justin.
- 1:30:03Speaker 1: So there you go. That would be a great name,
- 1:30:06Speaker 1: by the way, Just the Justin.
- 1:30:07Speaker 2: No, I would change it to Cats with Justin.
- 1:30:09Speaker 1: Really? Yeah. Okay. All right.
- 1:30:12Speaker 2: I could never do it.
- 1:30:13Speaker 1: I know. I know. But anyway.
- 1:30:17Speaker 2: All right.
- 1:30:18Speaker 1: Let me get to a couple. Hold on a second.
- 1:30:23Speaker 1: I got something going on. I know it. It's the
- 1:30:27Speaker 1: dumbest thing in the world, and I'm going to get it.
- 1:30:29Speaker 1: But anyway. All right. There's a farm. And how do
- 1:30:32Speaker 1: you say this? G-A-R-R-A-D.
- 1:30:36Speaker 2: Garrod?
- 1:30:37Speaker 1: That's what I would say. Or Jarrod. Garrett County, Kentucky.
- 1:30:40Speaker 2: Oh, Gerard.
- 1:30:41Speaker 1: Is it Gerard? Isn't it Gerard? I don't know. G-A-R-R-A-D.
- 1:30:45Speaker 1: Somebody's going to text me in here and tell me
- 1:30:48Speaker 1: how to correctly pronounce it.
- 1:30:49Speaker 2: Yeah, Gerard. You're missing it. It is Gerard.
- 1:30:52Speaker 1: Yeah. Okay. It's at a farm called the Kid Family
- 1:30:58Speaker 1: Farm in Gerard County, Kentucky that has made a corn
- 1:31:01Speaker 1: maze- that is in the shape of Commonwealth Stadium with
- 1:31:05Speaker 1: a UK cutout and a football. There was a pilot
- 1:31:10Speaker 1: that took a picture of it. It's the coolest thing
- 1:31:14Speaker 1: I've ever seen. And I wanted to make sure this family,
- 1:31:17Speaker 1: Kid Family Farm, got a little credit for it because
- 1:31:21Speaker 1: I loved it. And it's been years since I've done
- 1:31:24Speaker 1: a corn maze. I love those kind of things. Do
- 1:31:26Speaker 1: you like them?
- 1:31:28Speaker 2: Um, I, the one, only one I've been to recently
- 1:31:30Speaker 2: was a beer corn maze. So yeah, I liked that one.
- 1:31:34Speaker 2: Although it gets you really confused.
- 1:31:37Speaker 1: What now? Yeah.
- 1:31:38Speaker 2: So there's like all these beer tents set up in
- 1:31:40Speaker 2: a corn maze.
- 1:31:41Speaker 1: Oh yeah.
- 1:31:42Speaker 2: You get lost. This sounds horrible. You get lost real quick.
- 1:31:45Speaker 1: Oh no. And how much are you paying for the beer?
- 1:31:48Speaker 1: Is the beer included? It's included with. Oh no, this
- 1:31:51Speaker 1: is not good. Okay.
- 1:31:53Speaker 2: I mean, it's like a standard. Beer festival price, but
- 1:31:56Speaker 2: you're just in a corn maze and getting lost the
- 1:31:58Speaker 2: whole time.
- 1:31:59Speaker 1: Oh, my. How big is the corn maze? It's big.
- 1:32:03Speaker 1: I don't know. I don't know if I'd like that. Listen,
- 1:32:06Speaker 1: they're going to stumble and fall. They're going to break
- 1:32:08Speaker 1: all the corn, and then the maze is not going
- 1:32:10Speaker 1: to be there because all the people have just drank
- 1:32:12Speaker 1: too much and killed all the corn that they're falling over.
- 1:32:15Speaker 1: It's pretty wild. Okay. If my memory is correct, the
- 1:32:18Speaker 1: Rolling Stones' first hit was titled Not Fade Away. That
- 1:32:22Speaker 1: was a cover of a Buddy Holly tune Paul McCartney wrote. Wow,
- 1:32:26Speaker 1: thank you, Buzz. That's pretty cool. See, we're getting more
- 1:32:30Speaker 1: and more rock history from our listeners, and I thoroughly
- 1:32:35Speaker 1: enjoy this.
- 1:32:36Speaker 2: Just the rock.
- 1:32:37Speaker 1: Just, yeah, I like that too. But although it kind
- 1:32:40Speaker 1: of refers to an actor I don't really care for.
- 1:32:42Speaker 1: Stop it.
- 1:32:43Speaker 2: We're not going down that road here.
- 1:32:45Speaker 1: Jimmy Ref said, Scooter, I'm a part of the St.
- 1:32:48Speaker 1: X radio crew. I know who you are, Jimmy Ref. Yes,
- 1:32:51Speaker 1: I am old. I was 38 when UK beat Alabama.
- 1:32:54Speaker 1: That makes you old. Wow, that's awesome. Okay, well, Jimmy Ref.
- 1:32:58Speaker 1: You got to text in more often. I appreciate that. So,
- 1:33:00Speaker 1: and we'll have to listen to your broadcast on day next. So,
- 1:33:03Speaker 1: all right, everybody. We'll see you tomorrow. We'll get you
- 1:33:06Speaker 1: all ready for UK football as we get a step
- 1:33:09Speaker 1: closer to it. Have a great day. Thanks for listening.
