- 0:04Chairman of the San Blason Research Foundation. I am Faith Albert. I'm a
- 0:14full founder of my Cans family, and I'm so honored she needed community service.
- 0:21Recipient of the Samuel Flaxman Canceled Research Foundations Campers happening in twenty twenty three.
- 0:33Hi, I'm Lori, CEO and co founder of Scott's Protein Walls.
- 0:37I'm Scott Lan, co founders of Scott's Protein Walls. We feel grateful to
- 0:43be honored for the Upstanding Product Award this year. An honor to be in
- 0:47the category with such amazing people as Denise, Anna and Ralph who cancer the
- 0:53freaking first those away from the post nineteen nine, and it wasn't much research
- 1:00on it. It was a lot of avenues for help. He was basically,
- 1:06get it. If you can survive, great from going That's pretty much
- 1:08it. It's really come along way. It's kind of in my family history
- 1:14rereast cancer, so to cause it's really near and dear to dat and to
- 1:17help. None of my family were plastiff and families. And second my beloved
- 1:22husband in fifteen years he passed the way. Romaly came in in two and
- 1:26ten. Eating me is a single month of two beautiful toddlers. That was
- 1:32only two months before the revolutionary drug was available to treat him. You know,
- 1:38when I think about how cancer has affected me, it's just changed my
- 1:42life. Obviously, I can't control the cancer part of my life, and
- 1:53I think the best way to say it is when I put it on when
- 1:56I'm on dating apps, I put it on there. I wear my cancer
- 2:00family teacher. I shout to the world about my cancer drain because it is
- 2:06it is such a large part of my life that if somebody cannot handle it,
- 2:10that is not for me. And everything I do, my entire being
- 2:15in purpose right now is helping the people with cancer. So that's the best
- 2:21way that I could say that it's affected me. I can't change it.
- 2:24It happened and it's now just who I am. Cancer has affected my life
- 2:31as well as my family's because I had dress cancer in twenty seventeen. I
- 2:38was diagnosed at a routine mammogram and fully shocked and upset when I received that
- 2:43diagnosis that no one hopes to get. I went through surgery and treatments and
- 2:49it was probably one of the hardest times of my life. Thankfully, I
- 2:53have a very supportive family and friends, and my husband's Scott created a product
- 2:59for me. I went through my treatment and my recovery. You know,
- 3:02my wife was on this cancer journey. When she finished her treatment, she
- 3:07needed something a snack that was not filled with soy products or heavily filled with
- 3:12sugar or other preservatives. I started making her these protein balls. You know,
- 3:16with any great cause, or any great journey or adventure or problem,
- 3:23it really takes a whole bunch of people with different skill sets, different lovers
- 3:28of intelligence, in total dedication. You know the old saying it takes a
- 3:31village, and that's really you really need a lot of collaboration between golfers and
- 3:37teachers and family members, of people coming at problems and from different perspectives.
- 3:42We do that in the kitchen where everyone has their own part solving the problems
- 3:46and making the guests experience great. I think that's the same with getting together.
- 3:51Really is one community to help this great cause. Cancer research is everything
- 3:57to me because I'm wanted to be here without it. The drug that saved
- 4:00my life didn't exist and wasn't FDA approved before nineteen ninety eight. So cancer
- 4:09researches everything to make and every day miracles happen because of new medicines, and
- 4:18I am supporting a family member on a cancer journey right now, and we
- 4:21need new medicine. And it's I'll never stop. I'll never stop over the
- 4:30next five to ten years. And ultimately, well, we're not going to
- 4:39bring up these great honors. And the first one is our Cheferie Roland Valley
- 4:51Astavality and Service Award. Help please accept on our award from doctor Lashman,
