Welcome to Future Waves, the podcast that dives
• 0:03
deep into the latest innovation shaping our world.
• 0:06
Hey, everyone. Today, we're talking about something,
• 0:09
well, something truly revolutionary. Oh? The
• 0:13
integration of artificial intelligence in the
• 0:16
annual Global Water Awards. That's right. I mean,
• 0:19
for years, the Global Water Awards have recognized
• 0:22
excellence in the water industry. Mm -hmm. But
• 0:26
this year… Get this. AI isn't just a category.
• 0:30
It's a core component of the evaluation process
• 0:33
itself. Wow. Really? It's a huge leap forward.
• 0:37
A huge leap. Absolutely. So, the new AI system,
• 0:42
it analyzes these vast amounts of data from projects
• 0:45
all around the world. You know, from water -stressed
• 0:48
regions in Africa to coastal cities in Asia.
• 0:51
Right. The scoop is massive. Yeah, and it looks
• 0:55
  at efficiency, sustainability, and community
• 0:58
impact with a level of detail that was, I mean,
• 1:02
it was previously impossible. And it's not just
• 1:04
about crunching numbers, which is what I find
• 1:07
so interesting. No? No, the AI also evaluates
• 1:11
qualitative feedback, things like community testimonials
• 1:15
and environmental impact reports, to create a
• 1:18
more holistic score. Okay, so it's the whole
• 1:22
picture. Exactly. And this means smaller, really
• 1:25
innovative projects have a much better chance
• 1:28
of being recognized. Exactly. It just, it levels
• 1:32
the playing field. Yeah, it really does. I am
• 1:35
so excited to see which projects come out on
• 1:37
top. Me too. This could, honestly, this could
• 1:41
set a whole new standard for how we recognize
• 1:43
and reward innovation in these vital sectors.
• 1:46
It's a game changer for sure. Definitely. Well,
• 1:50
that's all the time we have for today on Future
• 1:52
Waves. Join us next time as we explore another
• 1:55
  wave of the future.
