That drum-shaped Raleigh landmark is getting a second life—Hotel Indigo Raleigh opens this fall after a $36M makeover. Tidal Real Estate Partners, who nearly demolished it, chose to preserve its iconic 1969 exterior while gut-revamping the inside into a 204-room boutique hotel with rooftop cocktail lounge, cafe, meeting spaces, and a penthouse bar. The hotel, part of a local vibe-focused brand, will hire 100 staff and marks the third Indigo in North Carolina—thanks to community love, it’s staying and shining.
