- 0:00Speaker 1: And some of the prizes we have today, we get
- 0:03Speaker 1: Matt Rife tickets, Becky G tickets. We're also going to
- 0:06Speaker 1: play Minute to Win It like in five minutes. Jessica,
- 0:09Speaker 1: and that's a thousand bucks.
- 0:10Speaker 2: Jessica, what's up? Good morning.
- 0:12Speaker 3: Hi, how are you guys?
- 0:14Speaker 2: Hi, how are you?
- 0:15Speaker 3: I'm good. I listen to you guys every single morning
- 0:18Speaker 3: and I have forever. I'm actually at work right now
- 0:21Speaker 3: hiding because I was so excited that I got a
- 0:23Speaker 3: call to get on air.
- 0:25Speaker 2: Oh, what can we do for you?
- 0:28Speaker 3: I texted last week and said that I have a
- 0:31Speaker 3: new job where I have to get up extremely early
- 0:33Speaker 3: like you guys do, and I want your best tips
- 0:36Speaker 3: on how I can do that and be functional during
- 0:39Speaker 3: the day. So give me all your best things. John Jay,
- 0:43Speaker 3: I know that you like cold plunge in the morning.
- 0:45Speaker 3: I don't do that.
- 0:46Speaker 4: Okay.
- 0:47Speaker 1: Well, let's try this because Peyton is the newest member
- 0:51Speaker 1: on the show.
- 0:51Speaker 2: How do you handle it? Peyton, what do you do
- 0:53Speaker 2: when you get up so early?
- 0:54Speaker 5: I mean, when I– I mean– I just, I need
- 0:59Speaker 5: a lot of quiet time, first and foremost, to start
- 1:02Speaker 5: off my morning and get myself in that mood. But yeah,
- 1:05Speaker 5: I'm not like John Jay. I know John Jay has
- 1:06Speaker 5: like a whole ritual and a whole thing that he.
- 1:08Speaker 4: Goes through, but.
- 1:10Speaker 2: No tips?
- 1:11Speaker 3: No, it's so hard.
- 1:12Speaker 6: Yeah, no, I mean, for.
- 1:13Speaker 5: Me, yeah, my tips is like, I think I just
- 1:15Speaker 5: have to like be with myself for a little bit
- 1:17Speaker 5: to kind of get started because our days are always
- 1:19Speaker 5: so crazy and never, never expected.
- 1:21Speaker 2: What about you, Rich?
- 1:22Speaker 7: Oh, yeah.
- 1:23Speaker 6: I think you have to shower in the morning. I
- 1:25Speaker 6: don't think the shower the night before is good enough
- 1:27Speaker 6: because you wake up and you've got that layer of
- 1:30Speaker 6: sheet on you. Sheet.
- 1:32Speaker 1: Sheet.
- 1:33Speaker 6: I'm saying sheet. I don't like that. You've just got
- 1:35Speaker 6: to wake up and start fresh. I mean, you don't
- 1:37Speaker 6: always have to wash your hair or everything, but I
- 1:39Speaker 6: do all the things. I shave, I brush the teeth,
- 1:42Speaker 6: I floss, stretch, but I like a shower in the
- 1:46Speaker 6: morning because that kind of gets you ready for a
- 1:47Speaker 6: new chapter. And I think that's the one non-negotiable is
- 1:50Speaker 6: the shower.
- 1:51Speaker 2: Jessica, what time do you wake up?
- 1:54Speaker 3: Well, what time do I or should I?
- 1:56Speaker 4: Both.
- 1:57Speaker 3: I should wake up at like 4.45. I usually wake
- 1:59Speaker 3: up at like 5.15. And I work with teenagers, so
- 2:03Speaker 3: I have to wake them up when I get here.
- 2:05Speaker 3: I'm in like a residential home for behavioral health with teens.
- 2:08Speaker 3: And so I'm waking them up when I'm like half
- 2:11Speaker 3: asleep and grumpy. And I drink a lot of coffee,
- 2:14Speaker 3: but it does not help.
- 2:15Speaker 2: What about you, Kyle? What's a tip you have?
- 2:17Speaker 7: My tip is eat a good breakfast. And I read
- 2:20Speaker 7: once that an apple contains like more energy for your
- 2:24Speaker 7: body and more natural energy for your.
- 2:25Speaker 6: Body than a cup of coffee.
- 2:27Speaker 7: So I suggest eating an apple.
- 2:29Speaker 6: Oh, look.
- 2:30Speaker 3: I'm going to go eat an apple immediately. They're all
- 2:33Speaker 3: cooking breakfast in the kitchen and I'm hiding.
- 2:35Speaker 1: Do some stretches too. I agree with Rich. The shower.
- 2:38Speaker 1: The shower can do it. Take a nice warm shower
- 2:40Speaker 1: and then crank it cold for like 30 seconds.
- 2:42Speaker 6: Yeah, that's great.
- 2:44Speaker 3: I'm only going to do that because you guys say so.
- 2:46Speaker 1: And then do some stretching. I do a lot of stretching.
- 2:49Speaker 1: But thank you for listening, Jessica. Thank you for listening.
- 2:51Speaker 6: Oh, my God, always.
- 2:52Speaker 2: Oh, you are awesome. Well, have a great day. And
- 2:54Speaker 2: let us know how it goes tomorrow.
- 2:55Speaker 1: Love you, guys.
- 2:56Speaker 2: Love you, too.
- 2:56Speaker 6: Congrats on the new gig.
- 2:58Speaker 1: We're going to play Minute to Win It, so we
- 2:59Speaker 1: do need a contestant at 877-937-1047. But Sarah, what's your
- 3:01Speaker 1: advice on 180 dating that we were talking about?
- 3:07Speaker 4: I was listening to Peyton talk about 180 dating, and
- 3:09Speaker 4: I had the message in. I am currently married to
- 3:14Speaker 4: a black man, but I told myself that if this
- 3:17Speaker 4: doesn't work out, 180, I'm going with a white woman
- 3:20Speaker 4: next time.
- 3:20Speaker 6: Fair enough.
- 3:22Speaker 2: That is definitely a 180.
- 3:23Speaker 6: You follow the instructions to the T. Or 360. How
- 3:26Speaker 6: long have you been married? 11 years.
- 3:34Speaker 2: Well, I guess it's working. You and the black guy.
- 3:37Speaker 3: It is.
- 3:37Speaker 6: It's working.
- 3:37Speaker 4: Yeah, it's working. But just in case, that's what's going
- 3:41Speaker 4: to go around next time.
- 3:42Speaker 6: Got to have a plan.
- 3:42Speaker 4: See you next.
- 3:45Speaker 3: Bye, guys.
- 3:45Speaker 2: Thanks, Sarah. Bye.
- 3:47Speaker 1: So I know that there's a storyline with Team Moms,
- 3:53Speaker 1: the baseball one, the Kim Kardashian one that's filmed here. Yeah.
- 3:56Speaker 1: So just to give you guys a little heads up,
- 3:59Speaker 1: I watched the first two episodes and then I watched
- 4:01Speaker 1: the last episode. And I saw the whole, so one
- 4:04Speaker 1: of the moms decided to become a lesbian. Yeah.
- 4:07Speaker 2: Well, she came out. Oh, I didn't see that part.
- 4:10Speaker 1: I just saw that her husband is trying to set
- 4:12Speaker 1: him up with a date and whatever. And we're going
- 4:14Speaker 1: to have one of the teen moms in tomorrow. So
- 4:17Speaker 1: that show is doing well, I think. Has anyone seen
- 4:19Speaker 1: where it's ranked? Do they do the rankings on Paramount Plus?
- 4:21Speaker 7: I don't know if Paramount Plus does like Netflix does
- 4:23Speaker 7: where they rank one, two, three. I haven't seen that
- 4:26Speaker 7: on Paramount Plus.
- 4:26Speaker 6: But I know a lot of people talking about it.
- 4:29Speaker 6: A lot of people watching it.
- 4:30Speaker 2: Okay. So what do you guys think?
- 4:32Speaker 6: I watched the whole season, the whole season, all eight episodes.
- 4:35Speaker 6: It's really wild because it's hard to find likable people
- 4:41Speaker 6: on that show. And I hope that some of those
- 4:43Speaker 6: likable people are the ones that are joining us today.
- 4:46Speaker 2: Oh, really? Because you know what's funny?
- 4:47Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 4:48Speaker 2: My friend Will, it's his team. He's likable.
- 4:50Speaker 1: And I enjoy watching him on TV because you can
- 4:52Speaker 1: see him having a great time.
- 4:54Speaker 7: I think there's like a lot of likable characters. I
- 4:56Speaker 7: watched the whole thing too. So I feel like I'm
- 4:59Speaker 7: ready for season two.
- 5:01Speaker 2: Like I'm in.
- 5:01Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 5:02Speaker 6: It's got, it's got a lot of the good stuff
- 5:04Speaker 6: in it that you love in a reality show. And
- 5:06Speaker 6: it's like, they do the fighting that reality shows do. Well,
- 5:10Speaker 6: somebody says something where it gets around. Everybody hates that person.
- 5:13Speaker 6: That person's got to defend themselves. Cat fight in an
- 5:16Speaker 6: eighties party. It happens in all the reality shows.
- 5:18Speaker 2: That's a really good recap. I'm watching it.
- 5:22Speaker 1: And I'm like, like again, I watched the first two
- 5:25Speaker 1: episodes in the last episode. I'm like, How are they
- 5:27Speaker 1: ripping on this guy for not telling them that he
- 5:31Speaker 1: owns a house or not owns a house?
- 5:32Speaker 2: Like, it's none of their business.
- 5:33Speaker 6: I feel like you missed a lot.
- 5:34Speaker 2: Well, I did miss a lot, but I'm still, as somebody,
- 5:35Speaker 2: I'm like, it's none of their business if he owns
- 5:37Speaker 2: a house or doesn't.
- 5:38Speaker 6: It truly isn't, but I guess if you step in
- 5:40Speaker 6: it enough, people start questioning you and be like, hey,
- 5:43Speaker 6: I don't know if that's true. I don't know if
- 5:44Speaker 6: that's true.
- 5:45Speaker 7: Their issue is more the lies about it, other than
- 5:48Speaker 7: they were like, in the middle part that you didn't watch.
- 5:50Speaker 2: Right, right.
- 5:52Speaker 7: They were like, it doesn't matter if you do or don't.
- 5:56Speaker 7: In fact, if you were open about it, that's probably
- 5:58Speaker 7: more relatable. Like everybody goes through financial stuff, but like
- 6:01Speaker 7: instead you lied about it.
- 6:02Speaker 1: Well, another show, number one on Netflix is A Different World,
- 6:05Speaker 1: which is a show I used to watch when I
- 6:06Speaker 1: was in college.
- 6:07Speaker 2: And I love that show. And they brought it back.
- 6:08Speaker 2: If you guys are watching, that's number one on Netflix.
- 6:10Speaker 7: No.
- 6:11Speaker 1: So it's about college life in Hillman College, which is
- 6:17Speaker 1: an HBCU college, right? And when it was on originally,
- 6:20Speaker 1: it was a spinoff of the Cosby show. and it
- 6:22Speaker 1: starred Lisa Bonet, and then she was only there for
- 6:24Speaker 1: a year. But it took off for about four or
- 6:25Speaker 1: five years, and it was such a good show about
- 6:27Speaker 1: college life.
- 6:28Speaker 2: And it was a comedy. But what they did is
- 6:30Speaker 2: they brought it back.
- 6:32Speaker 1: And it's number one on Netflix now, but it's like
- 6:34Speaker 1: when they did Fresh Prince, how it's kind of serious,
- 6:37Speaker 1: but it's also funny.
- 6:38Speaker 2: Do you know what I mean? It's like that.
- 6:40Speaker 1: And it's cool because it's all the characters I love.
- 6:42Speaker 1: And Peyton, I think you would like this because one
- 6:44Speaker 1: of the stars who played Dwayne was Kadeem Hardison.
- 6:47Speaker 6: Oh yeah.
- 6:48Speaker 2: And Kadeem Hardison is in it.
- 6:49Speaker 6: Oh, I like, yeah.
- 6:50Speaker 5: Kadeem Hardison's awesome.
- 6:51Speaker 1: And they brought back a lot of the old characters
- 6:53Speaker 1: and their kids are going to, it's just, it's really good.
- 6:55Speaker 2: It's number one.
- 6:55Speaker 1: It's number one right now. I'm only three episodes in, but, um,
- 6:59Speaker 1: Really enjoying it. Maybe the nostalgia. A lot of nostalgia, right?
- 7:02Speaker 6: Yep.
- 7:02Speaker 2: Like the VMAs last night. I feel like.
- 7:04Speaker 4: Nostalgia.
- 7:05Speaker 2: Snoop Dogg hosting. Madonna. Yeah. Nirvana.
- 7:08Speaker 3: Yep.
- 7:08Speaker 2: You know.
- 7:09Speaker 6: Like even some of the new music is nostalgic music.
- 7:12Speaker 6: Like Bruno Mars was like a kickback old time performance.
- 7:16Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 7:16Speaker 5: Somber did Father Figure. Yeah.
- 7:19Speaker 6: Yeah. Teddy Swim's rocked Careless Whisper, by the way. I
- 7:22Speaker 6: thought he sent it great.
- 7:23Speaker 2: We got $ 1, 000. We're going to get into VMAs in
- 7:25Speaker 2: about 45 minutes. Don't worry. If you miss anything, we'll
- 7:27Speaker 2: get into it. Jessica is our contestant for Minute to
- 7:29Speaker 2: Win It. Good morning, Jessica.
- 7:30Speaker 8: Hello.
- 7:32Speaker 4: Good morning.
- 7:33Speaker 2: Good morning. You are playing Minute to Win It for $ 1, 000.
- 7:36Speaker 2: But before we play, tell us a little about yourself.
- 7:38Speaker 2: Where are you? What part of town are you in?
- 7:42Speaker 8: We're in North Phoenix, and I'm on my way to
- 7:44Speaker 8: take my 13-year-old to middle school.
- 7:46Speaker 2: And you what? You cut out.
- 7:49Speaker 4: We feel like we're not gonna oh this.
- 7:53Speaker 1: Is gonna be bad you're cutting out oh that's gonna
- 7:56Speaker 1: be demerits if we're doing for 60 seconds yeah now
- 7:58Speaker 1: i can.
- 7:58Speaker 4: Hear you you should wait am i still cutting out
- 8:01Speaker 4: i am pulled.
- 8:02Speaker 1: Over okay i know you probably on speakerphone because you probably.
- 8:05Speaker 2: Want your daughter to play.
- 8:07Speaker 8: Okay i can take you off speaker no it's up
- 8:09Speaker 8: to you here is that better.
- 8:10Speaker 1: Well just i just want you to have a full
- 8:13Speaker 1: minute of being able to hear the questions you know
- 8:15Speaker 1: what i mean And us hearing your answers.
- 8:17Speaker 4: Is this better since I'm off speaker?
- 8:18Speaker 2: It sounded better to me. Yeah.
- 8:20Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 8:21Speaker 2: Okay. Let's try it. Okay.
- 8:23Speaker 7: John Jay and Rich have $ 1, 000 cash for you from
- 8:26Speaker 7: Peoria Ford right now.
- 8:27Speaker 1: Minute to win it.
- 8:29Speaker 6: Okay, Jessica, 60 seconds on the clock. Get all 10 right.
- 8:32Speaker 6: No passes, no skips. And you win $ 1, 000 of Pat
- 8:35Speaker 6: Hickey's money. Last night was the MTV VMAs. Who won
- 8:40Speaker 6: video of the year?
- 8:43Speaker 1: Oh, my God.
- 8:44Speaker 2: I didn't watch the VMAs.
- 8:45Speaker 4: Are you kidding me? Video of the year. It's got
- 8:48Speaker 4: to be probably Taylor Swift.
- 8:50Speaker 6: All Saints in November is the day after what holiday?
- 8:55Speaker 8: All Saints.
- 8:56Speaker 4: Is that after in November?
- 8:57Speaker 6: All Saints Day, I should say. All Saints Day is
- 9:00Speaker 6: not after Thanksgiving.
- 9:01Speaker 5: Oh, no.
- 9:02Speaker 6: It's the day after.
- 9:04Speaker 3: Jessica.
- 9:05Speaker 8: It's for Halloween.
- 9:07Speaker 7: Only one.
- 9:08Speaker 2: You cuss, too. You can't cuss. Speaking of Halloween.
- 9:13Speaker 1: But she cussed, so we dumped her and put her
- 9:16Speaker 1: on hold, but she gets a Del Taco gift card,
- 9:18Speaker 1: if you guys can tell her. According to Rich, the
- 9:21Speaker 1: FCC says we cannot pick her up again.
- 9:23Speaker 6: Yeah, because I took that test. According to the FCC.
- 9:26Speaker 6: That's what we're supposed to do. It's not my rule.
- 9:29Speaker 7: It's not just Rich.
- 9:31Speaker 2: I'm just telling you the way I see it. The
- 9:33Speaker 2: way I see it.
- 9:34Speaker 6: So you haven't taken the test yet. You're like, ah,
- 9:35Speaker 6: it's fine.
- 9:36Speaker 2: You know what? I get alerts every day to take
- 9:38Speaker 2: this test. Like, I tried to, and it was too long. Oh,
- 9:41Speaker 2: my gosh. Speaking of Halloween. Yeah.
- 9:46Speaker 1: Ranker.com ranked the biggest. Ranker.com and Spirit Halloween store, which
- 9:52Speaker 1: by the way, I haven't seen that many. Oh, there
- 9:54Speaker 1: are so many of them.
- 9:55Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 9:55Speaker 1: It's so funny. I've seen one a long time ago,
- 9:57Speaker 1: and I haven't seen any anywhere else. I was expecting
- 10:00Speaker 1: Salad and Go to be Spirit stores.
- 10:01Speaker 2: That's too small.
- 10:03Speaker 1: So they ranked the scariest and best recent horror movies.
- 10:10Speaker 2: They're so recent.
- 10:11Speaker 6: Obsession.
- 10:12Speaker 2: Number one, Obsession.
- 10:14Speaker 6: Really?
- 10:14Speaker 2: Number one.
- 10:15Speaker 5: Doesn't give horror movie to me.
- 10:17Speaker 6: What about... But have you seen it? What about back rooms?
- 10:21Speaker 6: Back rooms got to be on there.
- 10:22Speaker 2: Number six is back rooms. What about like insidious?
- 10:25Speaker 5: Annabelle?
- 10:29Speaker 8: No.
- 10:30Speaker 1: So you got the first one I've ever heard is
- 10:33Speaker 1: Alien Romulus is number 14. Abigail is 13. Something called
- 10:37Speaker 1: Bring Her Back is 12. Together is 11. Long Legs.
- 10:41Speaker 1: I remember that one.
- 10:42Speaker 5: Yeah, I remember that too.
- 10:43Speaker 2: Heretic is number heretic. I don't know how to say it.
- 10:46Speaker 2: Whatever it is.
- 10:47Speaker 1: Smile 2. is number eight, which is funny because Smile
- 10:50Speaker 1: 1 isn't in there. Smile 2. Send Help is number seven.
- 10:55Speaker 1: Back Rooms is six. Final Destination Bloodlines is number five.
- 10:59Speaker 1: The Substance is number four.
- 11:00Speaker 5: Oh, that was such a good movie.
- 11:02Speaker 1: Evil Dead Rise is number two, and Obsession is number one.
- 11:06Speaker 6: Yeah, Obsession, you guys really need to watch that. But then, again,
- 11:10Speaker 6: don't watch it because it'll freak you out.
- 11:11Speaker 1: Because I saw on SNL this weekend they made a
- 11:13Speaker 1: couple of Obsession jokes, and I I didn't get it,
- 11:17Speaker 1: but I kind of got it.
- 11:18Speaker 2: The girl makes a face like this. Did you like this?
- 11:20Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 11:22Speaker 6: It's really unnerving.
- 11:24Speaker 2: Heidi, good morning. What's up?
- 11:28Speaker 8: Hi. I was calling in with some strange marriage advice.
- 11:32Speaker 2: Okay.
- 11:32Speaker 8: So my spouse and I have had this phrase going
- 11:38Speaker 8: for the last 15 years of our marriage that every
- 11:41Speaker 8: morning you choose pillows or pancakes. Um, and the reason
- 11:45Speaker 8: for that is every morning you have to make the
- 11:47Speaker 8: choice to either get up and make that person pancakes
- 11:49Speaker 8: or choose them or smother them with a pillow. And
- 11:53Speaker 8: so even though that pillow sometimes seems really easy, you
- 11:57Speaker 8: still have to get up and make pancakes.
- 11:58Speaker 6: That seems like a pretty extreme, either this or that.
- 12:02Speaker 2: Of course you're giving them a choice.
- 12:03Speaker 6: Yeah, I guess that's true.
- 12:05Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 12:05Speaker 8: It's really, it's really just about like choosing your person
- 12:07Speaker 8: every day and remembering that you chose that person that
- 12:10Speaker 8: you wanted to be married to them. And like, putting
- 12:13Speaker 8: the intention behind it.
- 12:14Speaker 6: And pancakes makes everything better.
- 12:18Speaker 8: Yeah, because that intention is so important when you're married,
- 12:21Speaker 8: like making sure that you remember that you chose that person,
- 12:24Speaker 8: even when it's really difficult or challenging, because we all
- 12:27Speaker 8: have hard days in marriage. But knowing that every morning
- 12:31Speaker 8: I'm going to wake up and choose pancakes over that
- 12:33Speaker 8: pillow is a good thing.
- 12:34Speaker 1: But you're saying that like hypothetical, not someone doesn't every
- 12:37Speaker 1: day make pancakes, right?
- 12:38Speaker 8: Yeah, absolutely.
- 12:39Speaker 4: Hypothetically.
- 12:40Speaker 8: Like it's really just like that kind gesture that like,
- 12:43Speaker 8: you know, when someone makes pancakes for you, they're really
- 12:46Speaker 8: like making sure to find time for you, to choose you,
- 12:49Speaker 8: to do something nice for you.
- 12:50Speaker 1: And so.
- 12:52Speaker 8: just making that like hypothetical choice of pancakes each day.
- 12:54Speaker 6: John Jay doesn't understand hypothetical. He's very literal.
- 12:56Speaker 1: I know.
- 12:57Speaker 2: Cause I'm like, I'm so out of shape.
- 12:58Speaker 6: Do I have to make pancakes every day?
- 13:00Speaker 2: It's not good for you. All that gluten.
- 13:03Speaker 8: It's a great, like subtle way to like kind of
- 13:05Speaker 8: tell your spouse, like I'm in a bad spot with
- 13:07Speaker 8: you right now.
- 13:07Speaker 5: I'm not happy.
- 13:08Speaker 8: Like, I'll look at my spouse and be like, hey,
- 13:10Speaker 8: I could have chosen pillow this morning, and that's where
- 13:13Speaker 8: we're at.
- 13:14Speaker 6: That's a good point.
- 13:15Speaker 8: You might want to give me space.
- 13:16Speaker 1: If it's not hypothetical and someone chooses pillow, then the

- 13:26Speaker 6: way to say I love you too, right? Without being like,

- 13:30Speaker 8: Even when you're mad, you still have to find a
- 13:31Speaker 8: way to make pancakes, even if you don't necessarily want to.
- 13:33Speaker 1: Heidi, thank you for calling in. Thanks for that strange
- 13:36Speaker 1: marriage advice. Thank you for listening.
- 13:38Speaker 6: Absolutely.
- 13:39Speaker 2: Have a great day.
- 13:40Speaker 8: Same to you. Bye.
