- 0:00Speaker 1: Nice. Look at the tape on his headphones. Dan, can
- 0:02Speaker 1: you get him new headphones? Please? Yeah, you can get
- 0:04Speaker 1: him new headphones please. We're the most downloaded new comedy
- 0:07Speaker 1: podcast and the host can't have broken headphones. My headphones
- 0:11Speaker 1: broken anymore. Daniel has the power through iHeart to send
- 0:14Speaker 1: you new headphones. My headphones are no longer broken. If
- 0:18Speaker 1: you look, I have this beautiful thing called painters tape.
- 0:22Speaker 1: It holds it together. Well, I'm just saying that Daniel
- 0:25Speaker 1: has the hookup. Hey, Daniel, you could send me some
- 0:29Speaker 1: new headphones, and I appreciate that, but I'm gonna tell
- 0:32Speaker 1: you something right now. These are working just fine. But
- 0:34Speaker 1: if the people at iHeart feel like I'm just saying,
- 0:37Speaker 1: we could not iHeart for all the things they will
- 0:39Speaker 1: give us for free, like headphones, I'd be happy to
- 0:43Speaker 1: deliver you some headphones. I feel like I should stand
- 0:46Speaker 1: on another platform when it comes to things that iHeart
- 0:49Speaker 1: can give us for fear. Yeah, I think headphones. I
- 0:51Speaker 1: don't think. Yeah, let's think about the things that we
- 0:53Speaker 1: should ask iHeart for. Now that we are the number
- 0:57Speaker 1: one new downloaded comedy of twenty twenty, yeah, the most
- 1:02Speaker 1: downloaded comedy knew of twenty twenty, and I think that
- 1:06Speaker 1: makes sense number one, That makes sense number one in
- 1:09Speaker 1: that category. Yes, we found a category. We're number one,
- 1:12Speaker 1: number one. I don't think we can we can get
- 1:16Speaker 1: much free from iHeart, other than the gear to make
- 1:19Speaker 1: the podcast, like if your mic broke, or your headphone's broke,
- 1:23Speaker 1: or your digital recorder broke. I think the black top broke.
- 1:26Speaker 1: I need, I need, I need. I don't think the
- 1:30Speaker 1: top and a laptop to make this podcast work. I'm
- 1:34Speaker 1: I think it's gonna be a tough sell. I will
- 1:38Speaker 1: very fancy bottle of tequila? Have you have you? Did
- 1:40Speaker 1: you get your bottle of tequila? I did get my
- 1:42Speaker 1: bottle of tequila. I haven't opened it yet. Do you
- 1:44Speaker 1: know that's a three hundred dollar bottle of tequila? So
- 1:48Speaker 1: sipp it. It's funny. And he also to shoot it.
- 1:50Speaker 1: It was a sipp it. It's called sipping tequila, which
- 1:53Speaker 1: I didn't know was the thing, but I tried it
- 1:54Speaker 1: because I was did you shoot this? Did you shoot
- 1:58Speaker 1: the sipping tequila? No? I sipped it because I was
- 2:00Speaker 1: told this is very pricey tequila. You sip it, And
- 2:02Speaker 1: I sipped it and it was nice. It didn't hurt
- 2:05Speaker 1: like tequila usually hurts. Tequila hurts. Maybe when you have
- 2:08Speaker 1: a three hundred dollars model, it doesn't hurt so much.
- 2:13Speaker 1: You know what we should do? What's that? Since Will
- 2:16Speaker 1: is in the giving mood, yes doesn't. Will have a
- 2:21Speaker 1: mom named Paulette. Yes, Paulette Will, who is our overlorded
- 2:26Speaker 1: eyeheart and made this whole thing happen. His mom, Paulette
- 2:29Speaker 1: is a big fan of the podcast, and she's seventy
- 2:32Speaker 1: years old, so we're seventy years old. Happy birthday. The
- 2:36Speaker 1: fact that you are listening to my loud ass and
- 2:38Speaker 1: your seventy first time around the sun is amazing. I
- 2:43Speaker 1: hope this makes you day. I hope my loudness right
- 2:46Speaker 1: now it's so loud that you're like, whoa, it's my birthday.
- 2:51Speaker 1: Oh my god. I wish I had that energy at
- 2:53Speaker 1: ten thirty any more. I can't trick enough coffee to
- 2:55Speaker 1: have that kind of energy at ten thirty in the morning.
- 2:57Speaker 1: I am manufacturing this. What's this is? Once this is done,
- 3:01Speaker 1: we're gonna get woozy. You're gonna get I'm gonna get
- 3:04Speaker 1: very woozy. I'm gonna get very woozy. I showed Florence
- 3:07Speaker 1: trading places. She had never seen it. Oh my god,
- 3:11Speaker 1: we can make it, baby, me and you. It's a
- 3:16Speaker 1: it's a masterpiece. It really is a masterpiece of a film.
- 3:20Speaker 1: But you're wearing later. I remember that part. I do.
- 3:27Speaker 1: I remember from Sweden. I just watched it, and it's
- 3:32Speaker 1: amazing that dan Ackroyd in blackface didn't thought that he
- 3:36Speaker 1: would pass as a as an African American. Man, dude,
- 3:39Speaker 1: I told you, man, I certainly that what he says
- 3:42Speaker 1: when he walks into the freaking train car, I certainly
- 3:45Speaker 1: hope there's more. There's some space on this trend for me.
- 3:49Speaker 1: That shit is But the Jamaican accent, I'm laughing at it,
- 3:54Speaker 1: and I shouldn't be laughing out of them. Sorry, it's
- 3:56Speaker 1: so bad. I mean, it's it's so horrible, But it's
- 3:59Speaker 1: just money that in the world of the movie, they
- 4:02Speaker 1: they the characters thought that that was gonna fly in
- 4:05Speaker 1: the In the world of the movie, the dan ackroid
- 4:09Speaker 1: character Lewis Winthorpe, who is who Let's let's let's let's
- 4:14Speaker 1: let's just talk about his background. He's probably Ivy League
- 4:17Speaker 1: all the way. All he's done is ever done, is
- 4:20Speaker 1: Ivy League. When did he go to Jamaica long enough
- 4:24Speaker 1: to study how Jamaican people talk? One Act two and
- 4:33Speaker 1: picked up the dialect right like when where did he
- 4:36Speaker 1: go to school? That he was able to accomplish this,
- 4:39Speaker 1: and then not only that, when he was like when
- 4:41Speaker 1: they were like, when they were like when they were like, Okay,
- 4:43Speaker 1: we need to freak it. It's espionage. We need to
- 4:45Speaker 1: figure out a way on the on the train. When
- 4:49Speaker 1: we get on the train, we got to figure out
- 4:51Speaker 1: a way to get that briefcase. Okay, what do you
- 4:54Speaker 1: have that is useful for this situation? And Lewis winthorpe
- 5:00Speaker 1: Lewis Ray Louis raises his hand and goes, well, I
- 5:03Speaker 1: do a great Jamaican accent. So he hit me in
- 5:06Speaker 1: black face. I can get onto this. I can probably
- 5:09Speaker 1: get the suitcase, get the funk out of here, And
- 5:14Speaker 1: Billy Ray Valentine Eddie Murphy's character was like, yes, I
- 5:17Speaker 1: think that black face is probably the best angle for
- 5:20Speaker 1: you for this train. Well, he just made me realize
- 5:22Speaker 1: something I didn't realize before. Is Dan Ackroyd's character in
- 5:28Speaker 1: a costume because it's a it's a sort of a
- 5:33Speaker 1: New Year's Eve costume party. No, he's no, because he says,
- 5:36Speaker 1: I saw you with the some content, great African. We
- 5:41Speaker 1: had great time at the Benbul. So they're not in costume.
- 5:50Speaker 1: These people are actually playing. He's an actual Jamaican dude,
- 5:54Speaker 1: and Eddie's an African dude, and they met at an
- 5:58Speaker 1: African prince for black and a for Jamaican and African people.
- 6:04Speaker 1: They're right. But here's here's where I just realized that
- 6:06Speaker 1: the movie's a little confusing. Is that all those people
- 6:09Speaker 1: get in that train cabin and they're in costume but
- 6:14Speaker 1: and it's a costume party on the train, but they're
- 6:17Speaker 1: actually not. I mean, that's just a little bout something
- 6:19Speaker 1: I didn't realize before. Like they're in fake costumes. There's
- 6:23Speaker 1: a costume party on the train, but they could have
- 6:25Speaker 1: addressed as anything they could addressed. Why did they have
- 6:29Speaker 1: to be such broadcarros. Why did he have to be
- 6:31Speaker 1: in black face? Oh no, no, no, because he knows
- 6:33Speaker 1: what Winthorpe looks like. Hold on, now, he could have
- 6:36Speaker 1: put a mask on though it's a costume party, put
- 6:39Speaker 1: a Darth Vader mask on or something like that, and
- 6:41Speaker 1: that would have been a rap. Also, the guy in
- 6:43Speaker 1: the gorilla costume looks nothing like a gorilla, and yet
- 6:47Speaker 1: you're supposed to believe looks enough like a gorilla that
- 6:51Speaker 1: everyone's convinced that there's a there's two gorillas. Not only that,
- 6:55Speaker 1: but that the other gorilla in there thinks that the
- 7:00Speaker 1: person in the gorilla costume is a female gorilla. Holes. Yeah, yeah,
- 7:06Speaker 1: all right, there's a couple of holes in the movie.
- 7:07Speaker 1: But it's a masterpiece and I love it. So if
- 7:10Speaker 1: you've never seen Trading Places, I mean I don't. I
- 7:13Speaker 1: can't believe you exist. But if you've never seen Trading Places,
- 7:15Speaker 1: my girlfriend hadn't, and uh and she loved it and
- 7:18Speaker 1: we had a good laugh. All right, Donald, let's let's
- 7:21Speaker 1: start the show. Why don't you, Why don't you give
- 7:23Speaker 1: us some numbers that people love to hear? One, two, three, four,
- 7:26Speaker 1: Those aren't the numbers, Donald, Map six, seven, eight, about
- 7:32Speaker 1: we made about a bunch of docks and nurses, So
- 7:44Speaker 1: get around here. Yet around good episode. I remember thinking
- 7:55Speaker 1: at the time, this butterfly looked so fake. It looks
- 7:58Speaker 1: even faker in twenty twenty. Dude, I'm gonna be honest
- 8:01Speaker 1: with you. I just have I have a vague memory
- 8:04Speaker 1: of this episode, and so because of that, I felt
- 8:07Speaker 1: like when I was watching, I was like, oh, I
- 8:09Speaker 1: know what's gonna happen at the end, and then there
- 8:11Speaker 1: was that fake out. But then it happens. But then
- 8:14Speaker 1: what happened. What I thought it was gonna happen happens.
- 8:16Speaker 1: But there's that little fake out there where you're like,
- 8:19Speaker 1: oh shit, this is gonna go the other way, It's
- 8:21Speaker 1: gonna go the other way, and it doesn't. Yeah, they
- 8:23Speaker 1: subvert what you expect, which is good. You like, you know,
- 8:26Speaker 1: you don't want your audience guessing the end of the plot,
- 8:29Speaker 1: so it's always good to subvert expectations and shake it up.
- 8:34Speaker 1: And I thought this was a clever episode, having it
- 8:37Speaker 1: go one way in the in the in the first
- 8:39Speaker 1: part and the other way in the second. That was clever. Yeah,
- 8:43Speaker 1: and then it made me think, you know what I
- 8:45Speaker 1: should have I tried to write down all the things
- 8:48Speaker 1: that were different. We'll see if we if we if
- 8:50Speaker 1: we nail it. But okay, do you have a recap
- 8:52Speaker 1: ready for the world. I do. I think it's gonna
- 8:57Speaker 1: be a short one to day. I think it's not
- 8:58Speaker 1: gonna be as long. All right, you're gonna fuck up
- 9:01Speaker 1: the graph, guys, graph, But hold on, let me get
- 9:03Speaker 1: my stop watch. I bet you at the end of
- 9:06Speaker 1: the day it'll somewhat come back down to that thirty Mark. Okay,
- 9:10Speaker 1: here you go, and New Mark gets that go. In
- 9:12Speaker 1: this episode, we entered the Scrubs Molti verse, where things
- 9:16Speaker 1: are different but the same. Elliott doesn't want to let
- 9:19Speaker 1: a little girl down. Turk believes he's found his new
- 9:21Speaker 1: lucky charm, and the janitor has an army of custodians
- 9:26Speaker 1: hidden in his closet. Oh, man, would I do if
- 9:29Speaker 1: I had to do over? Hindsight is twenty twenty, Thank
- 9:33Speaker 1: goodness for twenty twenty one. But imagine if at midnight
- 9:37Speaker 1: when the ball dropped twenty twenty started all over it. No,
- 9:42Speaker 1: by the way, that was exactly thirty seconds, and you
- 9:45Speaker 1: had a beautiful little is it a pun there? Twenty
- 9:48Speaker 1: twenty Hindsight is twenty twenty, And then in the twenty
- 9:53Speaker 1: twenty one head explode emoji? You like that very clever?
- 9:58Speaker 1: Was that you or the Ganja coming up with that?
- 10:01Speaker 1: This is a ganja. It's a lot of ganja. Was
- 10:03Speaker 1: it you in the ganja working in cahuds to come
- 10:05Speaker 1: up with that? Little pun. It was a lot of ganja.
- 10:07Speaker 1: It was a lot of and when I said it,
- 10:09Speaker 1: and when I said it, I said it a while ago.
- 10:11Speaker 1: But when I said it, I was like, yeah, I've
- 10:14Speaker 1: come up with the new ship. Very clever. Oh you
- 10:17Speaker 1: rap artists out there. Yes, Donald was willing to license Welcome.
- 10:22Speaker 1: Donald was willing to license his hindsight is twenty twenty,
- 10:26Speaker 1: but it's turning twenty twenty one. Thing, the baby you're
- 10:29Speaker 1: welcome is the baby a popular rap arts. The baby
- 10:34Speaker 1: is fire dude, Holy caw, Look, yo, I was sleeping.
- 10:39Speaker 1: He's the one that talks like he's head like, kind
- 10:42Speaker 1: of like he got in VOTs kind of wraps me.
- 10:44Speaker 1: The baby who the want to talk like? That's the one. Yeah,
- 10:49Speaker 1: I got pro I'm cautious. He's seven. I'm cautious. I
- 10:55Speaker 1: don't know any of the baby's works from Charlotte. I
- 10:57Speaker 1: don't want to describe. His voice is raspy necessarily, but
- 11:00Speaker 1: he's got a very deep voice. But but it kind
- 11:03Speaker 1: of talked like that. I'm cautious. I can't do it.
- 11:06Speaker 1: I can't. I can't do it. A brother justice, But anyway, yo,
- 11:09Speaker 1: flavor the baby, the baby, I don't really know the
- 11:11Speaker 1: baby's work, but I'm not really I don't really listen
- 11:14Speaker 1: to it. If you sit in the car and you
- 11:16Speaker 1: just want to listen to some stuff, go to your iTunes.
- 11:19Speaker 1: You're on iTunes, hit the hip hop thing. It's nothing
- 11:21Speaker 1: but all of the top hip hop artists. I hit it,
- 11:25Speaker 1: and the baby came on and the baby was fine.
- 11:28Speaker 1: Right if if you get a chance to watch the
- 11:30Speaker 1: video for the song Bop Bop, that's pretty good. Great, Daniel,
- 11:34Speaker 1: is that the new computer you built on your work bench? There?
- 11:36Speaker 1: It is? This is the new computer I builts. But
- 11:38Speaker 1: you can have one of those. Daniel builds computers from scratch.
- 11:41Speaker 1: You could have one just like that. Daniel also charges
- 11:44Speaker 1: a lot of money for his computers. He's like, you
- 11:47Speaker 1: know the difference, Daniel. Listen, here's the difference between Daniel.
- 11:51Speaker 1: Who was that spot that used to come from? Daniel's
- 11:53Speaker 1: not gonna try and make a lot of money off
- 11:55Speaker 1: of you, but it's a lot of time it takes.
- 11:56Speaker 1: You gotta pay for his time, cheap bastard. My rates
- 12:01Speaker 1: are very competitive, are they? Are they competitive with what's that?
- 12:07Speaker 1: What's that? Are they competitive with fries? Absolutely? If you
- 12:11Speaker 1: try to get one of these big box stores to
- 12:13Speaker 1: build a computer for you. They're gonna be like, well,
- 12:14Speaker 1: that's gonna be a pretty penny right there. But I'm
- 12:17Speaker 1: happy to help you if you need any But anyway, Donald,
- 12:19Speaker 1: if you need a fancy gaming computer, Daniel custom builds
- 12:25Speaker 1: and then he and he also he streams what do
- 12:27Speaker 1: you call it? You twitch stream? Twitch? Very good? He
- 12:30Speaker 1: twitched selling such an old man. He twitched streams building
- 12:34Speaker 1: the computer so you could actually have watch your computer
- 12:37Speaker 1: being made. That's true. Wow, thank you for the plug. Yeah, everybody,
- 12:41Speaker 1: what's your stream? Daniel? If ever you can't ever lie
- 12:45Speaker 1: and be like, well I work this much on the computer,
- 12:49Speaker 1: can actually sit there and watch? Yeah, you remind people,
- 12:53Speaker 1: Daniel what your stream is? Twitch dot TV, slash DJ
- 12:57Speaker 1: Underscore Daniel d A n L. Come check, man, if
- 12:59Speaker 1: you're doing these kinds of things, you know, I'm sure
- 13:02Speaker 1: some of you are. You can watch Daniel and his
- 13:04Speaker 1: friends chat while they build computers from scratch. It's pretty cool.
- 13:09Speaker 1: Thank you, You're so sweet. Thank you. I know I am.
- 13:11Speaker 1: By the way, I got you guys lovely Christmas presents.
- 13:15Speaker 1: And Donald's gonna try and say that from both of us.
- 13:17Speaker 1: They're not for me. I'm sure Donald's are on the
- 13:21Speaker 1: on on their way to your house as well. I'll
- 13:24Speaker 1: get his face. I'm gonna be once. I didn't know
- 13:26Speaker 1: we were doing gifts this year. Well, I you know,
- 13:30Speaker 1: there's no rules. This is our first Christmas together, but
- 13:33Speaker 1: I decided to usual Usually we you usually saved gifts
- 13:37Speaker 1: for second Christmas. Is No, that's bullshit. That's that's what
- 13:41Speaker 1: we're the most number one comedy podcast download new They
- 13:45Speaker 1: deserve a present? You want? You want to say that
- 13:48Speaker 1: in English? I don't know. I can never say it right,
- 13:51Speaker 1: say that adjectives, there's too many adjectives. New number one
- 13:59Speaker 1: new common podcast twenty twenty. Yeah, number one, the number
- 14:06Speaker 1: one most downloaded new comedy podcasts in twenty twice. All right,
- 14:15Speaker 1: let's tell you this episode. Okay, So, first of all,
- 14:18Speaker 1: there's an exterior establishing shot of Cox entering the hospital.
- 14:21Speaker 1: I told you we shot those. I told you, and
- 14:23Speaker 1: I know, and I never we shot them all at once,
- 14:25Speaker 1: obviously in the beginning of the show. And I don't
- 14:28Speaker 1: think they've ever used this one of Cox entering the
- 14:31Speaker 1: hospital in a first time ever seeing that, I've never
- 14:33Speaker 1: seed that. So there you go. This a little trivia,
- 14:36Speaker 1: And it's weird because then all of a sudden he's
- 14:38Speaker 1: in the hospital. If not, why not cut from that
- 14:40Speaker 1: into him entering the hospital? Why cut from that into
- 14:44Speaker 1: you guys already on the first floor or I mean
- 14:47Speaker 1: the third floor, walking doing your round. I don't know,
- 14:50Speaker 1: it's weird. Those shots are always weird, those establishing shots.
- 14:53Speaker 1: I don't know why they use them. I mean, it's
- 14:54Speaker 1: not even the same hospital. It's they're just they're they're odd.
- 14:57Speaker 1: But I guess they have to remind people who are
- 14:59Speaker 1: in a hospital, so they cut to a big shot,
- 15:01Speaker 1: big wide shot of hospital, or that at that, or
- 15:03Speaker 1: that the people don't live there and that they arrived there.
- 15:05Speaker 1: I guess. I don't know. At forty five seconds, you say, dude,
- 15:09Speaker 1: too deep, which we which I told you the origin
- 15:12Speaker 1: of too Deep, but will remind the audience. I had
- 15:15Speaker 1: no idea it made the show. I had no idea.
- 15:17Speaker 1: This was probably something that you were like, YO say
- 15:19Speaker 1: too deep. Well, too Deep had become a running joke
- 15:22Speaker 1: with us, because as as as fans of the podcast recalled,
- 15:26Speaker 1: my brother and I were once superstoned and we were
- 15:29Speaker 1: walking up the stairs and he put sneaking in, sneaking
- 15:32Speaker 1: and sneaking in late and he put his finger in
- 15:34Speaker 1: my butt cheeks. No, I mean your butth hole. Well, yeah,
- 15:38Speaker 1: I had pants on. I don't want anyone to think
- 15:39Speaker 1: like we were like walking up the stairs naked and
- 15:42Speaker 1: I and I and I turned back to him and
- 15:44Speaker 1: I said, instead of saying, dude, what the fuck are
- 15:46Speaker 1: you doing, I said, dude, too deep? And we both
- 15:49Speaker 1: started just belly laughing at the fact that it wasn't
- 15:52Speaker 1: that I was object objecting to the touch. It was
- 15:54Speaker 1: that the touch had gone too deep. Yeah, because it's like, look,
- 15:57Speaker 1: I'm trying to get We're trying to get in here quietly. Yeah,
- 16:00Speaker 1: and you're distracting me by sticking your finger too deep.
- 16:03Speaker 1: Later on, fine, now not the time, No, No, I disagree.
- 16:07Speaker 1: I think my analysis was. What was funny about it
- 16:10Speaker 1: was that it was saying, I'm not I don't mind
- 16:12Speaker 1: that you put your fingers between my cheeks, but this
- 16:14Speaker 1: time you've gone too deep. Anyway, this stupid joke became
- 16:17Speaker 1: a running gag between me and Donald and UH and
- 16:20Speaker 1: finally made it to Scrubs on in season three episode
- 16:25Speaker 1: what Is It three sixteen, Wow took a few years,
- 16:30Speaker 1: but Power Rangers, I have no knowledge of the packet.
- 16:33Speaker 1: I was going to ask you about that. I was like,
- 16:34Speaker 1: what do you know about the Power Rangers? Obviously you
- 16:36Speaker 1: know nothing because Power Rangers ho does not exist. Power Rangers,
- 16:40Speaker 1: how Rangers, whatever age they were intended for, it was
- 16:46Speaker 1: not me because I have no knowledge of the Power Rangers. Joel,
- 16:49Speaker 1: where they your age Ranger? The very first costume I
- 16:52Speaker 1: got to pick up for myself for Halloween was the
- 16:54Speaker 1: Ranger can't really and it was amazing. Yeah, you yeah,
- 17:01Speaker 1: to choose you had. Can you explain to me basically
- 17:04Speaker 1: the lore of that? What is their story? Yeah, they're
- 17:08Speaker 1: high school students, the whole of Ye, here's a very
- 17:15Speaker 1: fun nerd out, behind the scenes lore of how the
- 17:17Speaker 1: show got made for in America. But we're gonna sky
- 17:20Speaker 1: step that for five teenagers at school. Basically, aliens came
- 17:25Speaker 1: to Earth. There's one good alien he like gives them
- 17:28Speaker 1: some powers. When they team up, they can make a
- 17:30Speaker 1: big giant droid allah like Transformers. Uh, they're friends. They
- 17:34Speaker 1: do some karate, they hang out in the desert, they
- 17:37Speaker 1: ride motorcycles. They're the epitome of cool. But it was
- 17:39Speaker 1: very b right it was kind of done like a
- 17:41Speaker 1: B movie. No, very very very like the epitome of
- 17:48Speaker 1: uh uh syndicated show. Like you know, if you there
- 17:52Speaker 1: was the network shows and then there were the syndicated
- 17:55Speaker 1: shows that you made strictly for syndication. You would go
- 17:58Speaker 1: away and shoot like a crap ton of them. It
- 18:01Speaker 1: wasn't necessarily on an on any network. Just networks would
- 18:05Speaker 1: buy it and then they would use it as fillers,
- 18:07Speaker 1: like like a B sci fi movie. Yeah, well, I mean,
- 18:11Speaker 1: my my, there's a hole. There's a whole bunch of
- 18:14Speaker 1: things that are attached to this. But yeah, sure you
- 18:16Speaker 1: could call it a B sci fi movie. It's crazy
- 18:18Speaker 1: to me. Was there an Asian influence to it? Well, yeah,
- 18:22Speaker 1: it was a bunch of Asian car It was Asian
- 18:24Speaker 1: television shows that they and for something like if you
- 18:28Speaker 1: notice everything comes in five in uh in anime, right,
- 18:33Speaker 1: So like you know Voltron with five cats, uh you
- 18:37Speaker 1: know G four's five people. You know it goes it's
- 18:40Speaker 1: it's like that. And so when the television shows, you
- 18:43Speaker 1: have a bunch and it's always colorful too, like there's
- 18:45Speaker 1: the red one, there's a green one, there's a white one.
- 18:48Speaker 1: So there's a bunch of uh shows. Uh is it
- 18:52Speaker 1: from Japan? Yeah, I guess right, Japan. There are a
- 18:54Speaker 1: bunch of shows from Japan where there are different characters,
- 18:59Speaker 1: but for some reason, they always dress in green, yellow, red, blue,
- 19:05Speaker 1: and black. Right, And so now you have all of
- 19:09Speaker 1: these different shows out there that you could and and
- 19:11Speaker 1: and for some reason they always transform into a giant
- 19:14Speaker 1: robot and fight in the city. Also, right, that's the
- 19:17Speaker 1: show has an Asian influence, is what you're saying. It
- 19:20Speaker 1: was the Asian TV shows and SUPERCENTI. Yeah, Supercentai. It
- 19:28Speaker 1: was part of the Superhero Time programming block with Common Rider.
- 19:33Speaker 1: All right, Well I totally missed this. I just remember
- 19:35Speaker 1: them fighting really ridiculous looking monsters putties, good times, really good.
- 19:43Speaker 1: All right, So it's the Butterfly episode for those of
- 19:47Speaker 1: you who are following along talking about the butterfly effect
- 19:50Speaker 1: and how one moment can change everything. And uh, just
- 19:54Speaker 1: a little little moment of decor from the design department
- 19:58Speaker 1: when when Elliott first entered, here's the little girl's room
- 20:02Speaker 1: that she's helping. There's butterfly decorations all over the walls.
- 20:06Speaker 1: Did you notice that, Tom, I did not notice that
- 20:09Speaker 1: little subtle thing. You're looking for your Tabasco do Rag
- 20:13Speaker 1: because it's your lucky Tabasco surgical do rag. And we
- 20:17Speaker 1: see what happens if he doesn't have his Tabasco do Rag.
- 20:20Speaker 1: Rando will pop out of a patient's body and punch
- 20:24Speaker 1: Turk into ding Ding. So he needs to find that
- 20:26Speaker 1: do Rag. Do you think Todd wants to fuck Turk?
- 20:29Speaker 1: I think so, yes, yeah, I mean this is the
- 20:30Speaker 1: first episode where it really kind of came out that
- 20:33Speaker 1: if not fuck, if not fuck, he wants to at
- 20:36Speaker 1: least see his penis and put it on his face,
- 20:38Speaker 1: like there's there's his penis and just like rest on
- 20:42Speaker 1: it on his face. Yeah, just lie it down, Yeah,
- 20:45Speaker 1: just lie down, lie Turk's penis, drape it, drape it,
- 20:48Speaker 1: drape it, drape it. Drape his cock on your face.
- 20:53Speaker 1: Yeah no, no, not on not on Turk's face. He
- 20:56Speaker 1: wants Turk to drape his cock on his face. Okay,
- 21:00Speaker 1: face either way, they wants they want cock. He wants
- 21:03Speaker 1: cock drapage. Yes, I am. There's two moments early on
- 21:10Speaker 1: the show where I'm like, Todd wants to fuck Turk, Like,
- 21:13Speaker 1: I mean, we've already established that he's you know, bisexual
- 21:17Speaker 1: and open to lots of things. And he clearly is
- 21:21Speaker 1: reaching into your ass. And I don't know, there's just
- 21:25Speaker 1: lots of He doesn't want me to wear underwear. He's like,
- 21:28Speaker 1: I don't ever wear underwear. He talks about not you know,
- 21:30Speaker 1: he's very into, very into your your growing. So, like
- 21:34Speaker 1: I said, he wants to put it on his face.
- 21:36Speaker 1: Now what is it? Do? So are the surgical things
- 21:38Speaker 1: you wore did did they call those do rags? I
- 21:41Speaker 1: don't know. Okay, Now the classic like do rag, the
- 21:46Speaker 1: black one that you see like men wearing in the city.
- 21:48Speaker 1: What's the point of that? This city is so funny, dude,
- 21:52Speaker 1: But but you don't see them too many two rags
- 21:58Speaker 1: in South Orange, New Jersey. Is yeah, I could show
- 22:02Speaker 1: you some white boys with waves. Boy, I'm telling you
- 22:05Speaker 1: right now, it's all. It's all. I'm asking you what
- 22:08Speaker 1: the I'm asking you a not a jokey question of
- 22:12Speaker 1: the satiny one that you see like all the time.
- 22:14Speaker 1: It's to lay the hair flat, right, and it gets
- 22:17Speaker 1: so flat that it starts to get wavy, right, and
- 22:21Speaker 1: so you put a do rag on to maintain these
- 22:24Speaker 1: waves after you brush your hair. I see, Okay, and
- 22:29Speaker 1: and the surgical thing was obviously just to keep your
- 22:31Speaker 1: hair out. But I was wondered, if you if I
- 22:32Speaker 1: wondered if they really called them what they really called them,
- 22:35Speaker 1: the surgeons called them, if they called them to do
- 22:36Speaker 1: rags or we just called it duc Well, it could
- 22:37Speaker 1: be a drag. I mean, I mean it. All it
- 22:39Speaker 1: is is a rag that gets moist enough after you've
- 22:42Speaker 1: brushed your hair to make your hair do wavy things.
- 22:45Speaker 1: I see, all right, see ill learned something. You're all
- 22:47Speaker 1: learning something here on the podcast. So there's two pairs
- 22:50Speaker 1: of breasts early on in the show, right, there's a
- 22:53Speaker 1: large pair of female breasts that are out, and then
- 22:56Speaker 1: there's a pair of men's breasts, a man who has
- 22:59Speaker 1: sort of is heavy set enough to have breasts. This
- 23:02Speaker 1: is one of those moments where I feel like awkward
- 23:05Speaker 1: thinking of the casting where they're like, put a call
- 23:07Speaker 1: out for men with male breasts. I made it. The
- 23:13Speaker 1: day exists and they know they exist. Why would it
- 23:15Speaker 1: be awkward. It's just you know, the guy shows up
- 23:18Speaker 1: that morning and he's having coffee and he's so you
- 23:21Speaker 1: don't gotta feel sorry for nobody. He's getting paid money.
- 23:23Speaker 1: He was like, yo, you know. I'm I'm playing a
- 23:25Speaker 1: dude with the boobs. I'm gonna doude with the boobs
- 23:27Speaker 1: that he's sipping his coffee. I'm sharing. I'm just sharing
- 23:30Speaker 1: with you. Whenever there's these moments in anything, in any film,
- 23:34Speaker 1: even TV show, I have nothing to do with it it.
- 23:36Speaker 1: I'm always a little like, oh, man, Like I had
- 23:37Speaker 1: to come to work. He's like, yeah, hi, I'm the
- 23:39Speaker 1: large breasted male and they're like, okay, right here, sir.
- 23:43Speaker 1: And then when he got the check and got the Xbox,
- 23:45Speaker 1: he was like, best day. Hey. And if he liked women,
- 23:49Speaker 1: he got to spend the day next to a woman
- 23:51Speaker 1: with giant breasts and talk to her, so maybe that
- 23:54Speaker 1: was nice for him. And if he was an actor,
- 23:55Speaker 1: he was on scrubs. Yeah, that's true. By the way
- 23:58Speaker 1: you say regarding her breast, you say, look at them
- 24:01Speaker 1: all snugly and safe and whatnot. I thought that was
- 24:08Speaker 1: the funniest way for a man to to ogle. I
- 24:14Speaker 1: say both every time I get every time this word
- 24:17Speaker 1: comes to my brain, and I wonder if it's ogle
- 24:19Speaker 1: or ogl you at home? Is it agl or ogl? Oh?
- 24:23Speaker 1: Thank you? I was pretending like I heard them. Donald,
- 24:28Speaker 1: let me try it again you at home? Is it
- 24:30Speaker 1: agl or ogl? Oh? Thank you? You know it was
- 24:34Speaker 1: a big hit, But us saying people's names who don't
- 24:38Speaker 1: usually get their names said, oh really, A lot of
- 24:41Speaker 1: people were happy. They were like, you said that name.
- 24:44Speaker 1: Let's pick. Let's all pick a really random name that
- 24:47Speaker 1: doesn't often get said and say hi to that. Yeah.
- 24:49Speaker 1: Because I said talk, I was like tick and talk
- 24:52Speaker 1: and somebody's name was actually talk and they were like,
- 24:54Speaker 1: thank you for saying my name. Nobody ever says my name.
- 24:57Speaker 1: Are each gonna say hello to a random name that
- 24:59Speaker 1: isn't Renny? I'm gonna go first, Wait, don't make up,
- 25:02Speaker 1: don't make up some bullshit and be no, no, it's
- 25:04Speaker 1: gonna be your real name. It's just not that common
- 25:06Speaker 1: in name. Hey, Clarence, how are you? Thanks for listening? Donald, Apple,
- 25:14Speaker 1: Blue Armenia. I said one name, and you said hello
- 25:21Speaker 1: to Chris Martin Asidge. I don't know if Chris Martin's
- 25:24Speaker 1: child listens to the show, but I hope. Okay, Juel, Juel,
- 25:28Speaker 1: you're up, good morning. Stop let you well go go ahead, Joel,
- 25:34Speaker 1: Good morning, Amara, Amara, how are you welcome? Thanks for listening.
- 25:38Speaker 1: Daniel Shanika Yo Shanka. Daniel, go ahead, I will say
- 25:44Speaker 1: good morning to my friend. If he shakuda, if Jamila, Jamila, Okay,
- 25:52Speaker 1: jam Jachim. All right, everybody, welcome to the show. Thanks
- 25:56Speaker 1: for listening. The banjo Fantasy I people are I'll be
- 26:00Speaker 1: polarized on the banjo, but I love the banjo. I
- 26:02Speaker 1: think the banjo makes everything better. Dan, I mean, it's
- 26:10Speaker 1: hard not to like a banjo. In my personal opinion,
- 26:12Speaker 1: the banjo always makes me smile and it's great. I
- 26:14Speaker 1: love it. Every time I hear it in the score,
- 26:16Speaker 1: I love it. I just love banjo. Do you know
- 26:18Speaker 1: what I think? Do you know what I think of
- 26:20Speaker 1: when I hear banjo, Steve Martin? I think it's Steve Martin.
- 26:23Speaker 1: Every time I hear banjo, Steve Martin, Steve Martin, you
- 26:28Speaker 1: made banjo so happy for me. Yeah, thank you. You
- 26:32Speaker 1: may not know this if you're listening, but Steve Martin
- 26:34Speaker 1: is an excellent banjo player, and like that was his
- 26:38Speaker 1: act back in the day. He would come on stage
- 26:40Speaker 1: with a banjo. I loved Mumford and the Sons, and
- 26:44Speaker 1: then they got a lot of shit for like having
- 26:46Speaker 1: so much banjo, and then sudden they put out an
- 26:48Speaker 1: album without the banjo, and I missed the banjo. I
- 26:51Speaker 1: was like, where's the banjo? You know what I'm saying? Donald?
- 26:58Speaker 1: I do you never heard him? Joe and that? Are you?
- 27:02Speaker 1: Are you freaking kidding me? I've never heard of Mumfet
- 27:04Speaker 1: and Son. I don't know. You might be listening to
- 27:06Speaker 1: the Baby. I do like the Baby, but I do
- 27:10Speaker 1: like Mumfort and Song. You know what? Do you know what? Well?
- 27:15Speaker 1: You know? Do you know? Do you know? Speaking of
- 27:16Speaker 1: Mumfort and Sons, this guy sounds a little bit like
- 27:19Speaker 1: them to me. Uh and maybe it's just he only
- 27:22Speaker 1: has one really big He was an American idol Philip Phillips. No,
- 27:25Speaker 1: you're not alone. This is the place your home. Settle down,
- 27:36Speaker 1: it all all be clear. Don't pay attention to demons.
- 27:43Speaker 1: They feel you with feet turned down down and down down, down, down,
- 27:49Speaker 1: down down. That's that's my Are you never you don't?
- 27:54Speaker 1: This is on every way? Hold on? I'm sorry? Is
- 27:58Speaker 1: that American idol? Are you American? I'm American? Yes, yes
- 28:02Speaker 1: I am. I want because I don't want? That isn't?
- 28:05Speaker 1: That is probably the most American played song other than
- 28:09Speaker 1: That's everywhere other than the Starspangel Banner, Philip Phillips and
- 28:13Speaker 1: no you're not alone your home. That shit has played
- 28:16Speaker 1: all the time everywhere. I've never heard. Oh that we've
- 28:26Speaker 1: probably lost listeners. Come back, listeners, I can come back.
- 28:30Speaker 1: I can feel people going fuck this episode? Why because
- 28:36Speaker 1: I say, Philip Phillips, It's just too much and too loud.
- 28:39Speaker 1: I'm like, my ears hurt, and I love you. Your
- 28:43Speaker 1: ears don't hurt. I got this shit turned all the
- 28:45Speaker 1: way down, guys, so sorry, I'm speaking of ears hurting. Daniel,
- 28:51Speaker 1: how dare you stifle me and turn me down on
- 28:53Speaker 1: the headphone Listen, I'm listening to the show, and now
- 28:56Speaker 1: you're turning me down. You're turning me down and turning
- 28:59Speaker 1: me down, turning me down. People run with you in
- 29:04Speaker 1: their ears. It's too much. You're blowing people out. If anything,
- 29:07Speaker 1: it makes them run faster. Man, with somebody else, that's
- 29:10Speaker 1: that's that's that's instinctual. When you're when you hear somebody else,
- 29:15Speaker 1: your instinct is to pick up the pace and then
- 29:18Speaker 1: you wall shit, I better run faster. I'm helping people, man,
- 29:22Speaker 1: I'm helping people. Don't be mad at me. I'm helping you.
- 29:25Speaker 1: I'm helping you and you, guys, you are too loud sometimes,
- 29:30Speaker 1: and so Daniel is our safeguard against hurting people's ears.
- 29:33Speaker 1: And let's talk about my followers. Man, what the fuck
- 29:36Speaker 1: is guys? What's going on? I love all of you
- 29:39Speaker 1: that are following me now. I love you so much.
- 29:41Speaker 1: We did it. We did it. We did it. We
- 29:44Speaker 1: did it, We did it. What do we do? What
- 29:48Speaker 1: do we do? We? I gained since this podcast, I
- 29:51Speaker 1: gained over one hundred and something thousand. Wow. That's huge.
- 29:57Speaker 1: Thank you, thank you very much. And I'd hate to
- 29:59Speaker 1: sound like an asshole, but it's not enough. It's not enough.
- 30:02Speaker 1: I know I'm an asshole. I'll be the asshole. I'll
- 30:04Speaker 1: be the asshole. It's not the best look to grovel
- 30:07Speaker 1: for followers. They love you and people will follow you.
- 30:09Speaker 1: Everybody Donald, I want, I want, I want more, I
- 30:13Speaker 1: need more. All right, let's circle back and the words
- 30:16Speaker 1: of Sharpay from high school musical. I need, I need,
- 30:21Speaker 1: I need, I need, I need, I need, I want
- 30:27Speaker 1: fabu less, I want fastbut less too much? Did I
- 30:35Speaker 1: go too far? We got to talk about this show?
- 30:38Speaker 1: Oh okay, I've had my moments. Let's take a break.
- 30:47Speaker 1: We'll be right back after these fine words. Let's go
- 30:56Speaker 1: back to the show. So JD has made a homemade
- 31:02Speaker 1: dolls of Cox and JD. We learn he made action figures,
- 31:06Speaker 1: action figures. He's acting out JD and Cox together at home. Yes,
- 31:14Speaker 1: and Harold dream is coming true. Apparently, Kelso has said
- 31:17Speaker 1: to Turk quote, homeboy, get your kuettomobile off the road, Yes,
- 31:24Speaker 1: right before Yes. Yes. Also, Carla eats couch candy on
- 31:33Speaker 1: the low. Yeah, Bill does that. Bill was the kind
- 31:36Speaker 1: of guy that you'd pass the candy bar and he'd
- 31:39Speaker 1: be like, oh, and it would be open and he'd
- 31:41Speaker 1: eat it. He has no I mean nowadays, I'm sure
- 31:43Speaker 1: he's changed his ways, but I remember always being grossed
- 31:45Speaker 1: out about him. He would just he had no German
- 31:48Speaker 1: fears and would just grab although this is I don't know.
- 31:51Speaker 1: Would you eat a Snickers bar if you found in
- 31:53Speaker 1: the couch and with half open nowadays? No, No, But
- 31:56Speaker 1: I mean like in normal times, yeah, you might be
- 32:00Speaker 1: like someone in my family. Yeah. I mean, you know, uh,
- 32:05Speaker 1: you know when shit changes when you have kids and
- 32:08Speaker 1: you see them eating stuff and then you look at
- 32:11Speaker 1: it and you know that that could be a cold
- 32:14Speaker 1: or the flu or whatever it is that they caught
- 32:17Speaker 1: at school and you're looking at them eating and they're like,
- 32:20Speaker 1: I'm not going to eat anymore, but it's something you
- 32:22Speaker 1: want to eat. That's when you're playing roulette, you know
- 32:24Speaker 1: what I mean. That's when it's like, all right, here
- 32:26Speaker 1: we go. Yeah, because your kids are little germ factories, right, absolutely.
- 32:30Speaker 1: I have a question about the do rag Yeah, just
- 32:35Speaker 1: you know, so it's clear Turk obviously has superstitions and
- 32:39Speaker 1: holds lucky charms you know, as uh, you know, as
- 32:43Speaker 1: value and stuff. But do you guys have anything like that?
- 32:45Speaker 1: Do you guys have silly superstitions? I know, Zach, you
- 32:48Speaker 1: were talking about how when you were younger you had
- 32:50Speaker 1: OCD and that's kind of like a superstition. Do you
- 32:53Speaker 1: still have that going out? Well, I don't just like
- 32:57Speaker 1: O c D in a sense, I have little superstitions
- 33:00Speaker 1: that I just go, well, I think it's ridiculous, but
- 33:04Speaker 1: just to be saved, I'm not gonna walk under a
- 33:06Speaker 1: ladder stuff like that, or like like I was told
- 33:10Speaker 1: when I was a kid that putting a hat on
- 33:11Speaker 1: the bed is bad luck. Yeah, I still don't do that.
- 33:14Speaker 1: I saw that in a moment. I don't let any
- 33:16Speaker 1: hats on the bed. I was a drug store cowboy, right,
- 33:19Speaker 1: I don't open umbrellas inside the house. Wasn't that Kelly
- 33:22Speaker 1: Lynch drug store cowboy that said that cowboy? Is that right?
- 33:26Speaker 1: I don't know. I just know that I don't do it.
- 33:28Speaker 1: Do you have any superstitions? You don't do things you
- 33:30Speaker 1: don't do. Let me see if you broke a mirror,
- 33:34Speaker 1: would you think you seven years bad luck? I try
- 33:37Speaker 1: my well, I try my heart. It's not to break
- 33:39Speaker 1: marriage because of that. Yeah, I don't want to break
- 33:41Speaker 1: a mirror, Daniel, what about you? Yeah? You know, I
- 33:48Speaker 1: think subconsciously in the back of my head, I'm like, oh,
- 33:50Speaker 1: don't walk under that ladder. But I don't think in
- 33:52Speaker 1: my heart of hearts, I would believe it if I
- 33:54Speaker 1: walked under a ladder and was like fuck bad luck. No,
- 33:57Speaker 1: I don't really believe it. But like I there's a
- 34:00Speaker 1: part of me and like I said, and I think
- 34:01Speaker 1: it made circle back to my ocdnis where I'm just like, well,
- 34:04Speaker 1: just to be safe, I'm not gonna walk out on
- 34:06Speaker 1: the ladder. Yeah, don't you also feel like as a
- 34:08Speaker 1: theater kid though, like theater, kid, I thought that hell
- 34:10Speaker 1: of superstitions, like I'll leave the ghost slide eye. They
- 34:15Speaker 1: don't say Macbeth in the theater, yeah, I will always
- 34:18Speaker 1: say break a leg that I mean, you know, there's
- 34:19Speaker 1: no there's no, there's certainly no g l in the theater.
- 34:23Speaker 1: Never you don't see that. You don't say McBeth in
- 34:26Speaker 1: the theater. That's considered huge bad luck. So you say
- 34:29Speaker 1: the Scottish play, the scott the Scottish play. What if
- 34:34Speaker 1: you're performing Macbeth, then well then you can No, you
- 34:38Speaker 1: can if you you can say the words Macbeth as
- 34:40Speaker 1: they're used in the show, of course, But because Macbeth
- 34:44Speaker 1: is you know, about witches and sorcery, there's always just
- 34:47Speaker 1: been this longstanding theater tradition that you do not say Macbeth.
- 34:51Speaker 1: That's like the worst luck for your play, And so
- 34:53Speaker 1: instead you say the Scottish play. There he goes a
- 34:57Speaker 1: little theater tribute for you. Todd says to Elliott, I
- 35:02Speaker 1: got a pink doggie. But it's not Little calls his
- 35:07Speaker 1: cock a pink doggie. Now, when JD and Elliott enter
- 35:13Speaker 1: the janitor's closet, that's pretty funny. They find before we
- 35:16Speaker 1: get there, you're skipping something. You're skipping something that you
- 35:19Speaker 1: did really good and we should talk about this. But
- 35:21Speaker 1: what a great doctor Cox you did. Oh, thank you,
- 35:24Speaker 1: my big doctor Cox rant. That's very good. You even
- 35:28Speaker 1: had some of the faces in the awe. He really,
- 35:32Speaker 1: I must have worked on that, because that's not a monologue.
- 35:35Speaker 1: You just want to show up and do. I'm sure
- 35:36Speaker 1: that I rememberized that and worked on that. Yeah, we
- 35:40Speaker 1: didn't make it to Joseph's the night the night before
- 35:42Speaker 1: that one. No, No, I had to put the work
- 35:44Speaker 1: in for that because Johnny was so amazing and how
- 35:47Speaker 1: hard he'd work on those and how much memorization they took.
- 35:50Speaker 1: And he talked on the show with us about how
- 35:52Speaker 1: often they'd change and he'd be like, oh, you're killing me.
- 35:55Speaker 1: But he could do it. He was so good at it,
- 35:57Speaker 1: you know. So for me, I know that I wanted
- 36:00Speaker 1: to do a good job, especially doing it in his
- 36:03Speaker 1: face to him. So yeah, it was funny, right he really.
- 36:09Speaker 1: You know it's crazy is that there's no connection between
- 36:11Speaker 1: you two in your shot, like it's just a one
- 36:15Speaker 1: or it's just a one, it's just you in the frame.
- 36:18Speaker 1: You don't it's not an over or anything like that.
- 36:20Speaker 1: So there's a possibility that Johnny wasn't there when you
- 36:23Speaker 1: know he was there. I'm sure. I know he's always
- 36:25Speaker 1: Johnny was always there. That's that's one thing that's always shoot.
- 36:29Speaker 1: I remember when there would be like it would be
- 36:31Speaker 1: it could even be Johnny, we need to wrap you
- 36:36Speaker 1: so that we can make your turnaround tomorrow. But we
- 36:41Speaker 1: still have to finish this scene. We still have like
- 36:44Speaker 1: another half an hour twenty minutes on this scene. But
- 36:46Speaker 1: you can go home. We're gonna just shoot Zack's or
- 36:49Speaker 1: Donald's coverage. Johnny would stay the extra twenty minutes and
- 36:52Speaker 1: be like, just just let's just shoot the ship. I
- 36:55Speaker 1: don't think I've ever worked with one of these douchebag
- 36:58Speaker 1: people you hear about that don't stay for off camera coverage.
- 37:01Speaker 1: I've never I've never had that experience. Have you ever
- 37:04Speaker 1: in your life? No, I don't think I ever have,
- 37:07Speaker 1: for those of you not in the business. So when
- 37:09Speaker 1: the shot, then you know, he sho when're shooting close
- 37:12Speaker 1: ups of people, and let's say it's a scene between
- 37:14Speaker 1: me and Donald's, and you've already done my close up
- 37:16Speaker 1: and now it's time to shoot his close up and
- 37:18Speaker 1: I'm doing the quote off camera dialogue with Donald. I'm
- 37:21Speaker 1: not being filmed, but I'm there to act with him
- 37:23Speaker 1: and make sure and be, you know, do the scene
- 37:26Speaker 1: and make sure his performance is good, as he has
- 37:29Speaker 1: done for me. So there is there are tales of
- 37:31Speaker 1: people that are such divas that they don't even stay
- 37:35Speaker 1: for the other actor's coverage the famous Apparently Rod Steiger
- 37:39Speaker 1: said that Marlon Brando was not in the car for
- 37:42Speaker 1: his coverage of the famous moment of of I could
- 37:45Speaker 1: have been a contender real, yeah, like you can if
- 37:49Speaker 1: you if you look this stuff up, you can find
- 37:51Speaker 1: like famous moments in cinema history where the other actor
- 37:55Speaker 1: or some sort of was doing some sort of diva
- 37:57Speaker 1: behavior and not there. But Robs, we never did, guess
- 38:00Speaker 1: because we were all very supportive of each other. You
- 38:03Speaker 1: considered a douchebag. If you do that, I mean, I
- 38:06Speaker 1: guess you have to be I don't know, man, and
- 38:09Speaker 1: and and I don't know if this is the way,
- 38:12Speaker 1: but and correct me if I'm wrong. But in some ways,
- 38:15Speaker 1: I guess you have to be selfish as an actor
- 38:17Speaker 1: to reach that level of you know what I mean?
- 38:20Speaker 1: And if I'm wrong, wrong, But I've had the opportunity
- 38:24Speaker 1: to work with de Niro and Morgan Freeman, all these people.
- 38:26Speaker 1: They're they're doing what you dream of, and that is
- 38:28Speaker 1: they're not just doing their off camera dialogue. They're doing
- 38:30Speaker 1: it as intensely as they did their on camera so
- 38:33Speaker 1: that you, the actor, have something powerful to work off of.
- 38:36Speaker 1: The Other thing that's annoying is when the other actors
- 38:38Speaker 1: off camera and they're like tired and yawning and like
- 38:41Speaker 1: half paying attention. You're like, come on, man, be present
- 38:44Speaker 1: for me, be here, I need I need you. That
- 38:47Speaker 1: is that is the truth, man, because sometimes your cues
- 38:50Speaker 1: are taken off of how the other person is reacting tour,
- 38:56Speaker 1: you know, And that's tough. And yeah, I've experienced it
- 39:01Speaker 1: a couple of times. I'm not going to say any names,
- 39:03Speaker 1: but they know. No, I didn't want to expect you
- 39:05Speaker 1: to say any names, but I just want to. It
- 39:06Speaker 1: turns out, but you didn't have that experience at Scrubs.
- 39:08Speaker 1: No one would ever do that Scrubs. No, no, no, no,
- 39:10Speaker 1: no no no no no no. All right. So yeah,
- 39:13Speaker 1: so JD and Elliott entered the janitor's closet for the
- 39:16Speaker 1: first time, and it was very funny shot. We see
- 39:18Speaker 1: all the other janitors. They all have the same hairstyle
- 39:21Speaker 1: as Neil. There's a poster of JD on the wall
- 39:24Speaker 1: and it's labeled him now a little bit of a
- 39:30Speaker 1: of a of a continuity fuck up. In that, Randall
- 39:34Speaker 1: says he just got the job, but we got the job. Yeah,
- 39:37Speaker 1: he had already gotten it. Yeah, he was already working.
- 39:39Speaker 1: He was already working with the janitor on the rooftop
- 39:41Speaker 1: toilet episode. Yeah, this is out of order. I don't
- 39:43Speaker 1: think he had a uniform. Then he said he was
- 39:46Speaker 1: his colleague or something. I don't know. I don't remember
- 39:48Speaker 1: if he was in uniform on the roof Oh, I
- 39:50Speaker 1: don't know. Maybe maybe he had a different job before
- 39:52Speaker 1: and now yeah maybe yeah that's true. Maybe he was
- 39:55Speaker 1: a hospital employee. But anyway, he's back with his powerful,
- 39:58Speaker 1: tiny fists. And and Marty did this began. Marty's a
- 40:03Speaker 1: long long run on Scrubs that he did. Yeah, but
- 40:06Speaker 1: this is all the fact that tiny, tiny, powerful fists
- 40:09Speaker 1: got a callback. Yes, you know, I think I think
- 40:12Speaker 1: I think the writers were trying to make it a
- 40:14Speaker 1: thing like got it, like like what you're talking about Willis,
- 40:16Speaker 1: But I don't think it ever really stuck. I don't
- 40:18Speaker 1: think it's stuck. I don't think powerful tiny fists was
- 40:21Speaker 1: said more than more than twice. I don't know. Oh no,
- 40:27Speaker 1: don't okay, it's like what do you call it? It's
- 40:32Speaker 1: like saying what do you say in the mirror three
- 40:34Speaker 1: times and someone appears, don't don't say beetle juice. I
- 40:39Speaker 1: was thinking, we're gonna go to a break and then
- 40:41Speaker 1: we have a guest. We'll be right back, all right,
- 40:50Speaker 1: anywhere bad, all right, bring in the guests. It's exciting.
- 40:55Speaker 1: Christmas is three days away. When we're recording this, I
- 41:00Speaker 1: should say hello Jen later Jo Anderson. It up for Janderson.
- 41:10Speaker 1: I don't think his name is Jenderson. I think that's
- 41:12Speaker 1: his camera lot. Came speculating with my wife since yesterday
- 41:20Speaker 1: what Donald would call me if he was just a
- 41:22Speaker 1: whole name. I just called you by your at That's
- 41:27Speaker 1: all I did. John, John, John, Welcome to the program.
- 41:31Speaker 1: John is wearing a beautiful shirt from the podcast of
- 41:35Speaker 1: me riding Donald and yelling eagle. I love the color. John.
- 41:39Speaker 1: Where are you calling from, sir? I'm calling from Johnson City, Tennessee.
- 41:42Speaker 1: If anybody's a NASCAR fan who's listening. I'm about thirty
- 41:45Speaker 1: minutes away from Bristol Motor Speedway. If you're from her
- 41:48Speaker 1: with that, I like your accent. You sound like a
- 41:51Speaker 1: man from Tennessee. I've been told that before. I'm actually
- 41:55Speaker 1: from Virginia riginally, Okay, Yeah, what part of Virginia for
- 42:00Speaker 1: the southwestern part, which is about like it's about an
- 42:02Speaker 1: hour and a half from here. Are you near Alexandra, Alexandria? No, No,
- 42:07Speaker 1: that's that's up in the northern parts. I'm like, he's
- 42:10Speaker 1: gonna name cities, you know in Virginia. No, that's where
- 42:13Speaker 1: TC Williams is. I have a lot of friends from
- 42:15Speaker 1: the DNB area, though, So there's I grew up in
- 42:18Speaker 1: a school with a lot of Ethiopians, and for some reason,
- 42:21Speaker 1: they tend to congregate up there in the Maryland, DC
- 42:24Speaker 1: Northern Virginia area. There's a large population of Ethiopian folks
- 42:27Speaker 1: up there. So that's I'm pretty familiar with that area.
- 42:30Speaker 1: And that is that a quarantine beard? No, it's actually not.
- 42:35Speaker 1: I have grown a beard for about for about eight
- 42:37Speaker 1: years and then a couple of months ago. So I'm
- 42:40Speaker 1: shaking really bad. I got my super nervous because I'm
- 42:42Speaker 1: don't be nervous. Friends here were all friends here, so
- 42:46Speaker 1: are the listeners like Tamika and Fuquan and Muhammad. But
- 42:52Speaker 1: so I was trying to my barber kind of got
- 42:54Speaker 1: it off. I had. I've had a beard for about
- 42:56Speaker 1: two years, and back in August, he got it a
- 42:59Speaker 1: little off, and I was trying to fix it myself
- 43:01Speaker 1: and like took a big took a big chunk out
- 43:04Speaker 1: of it, and so I turned it back down to
- 43:06Speaker 1: about what you got there, Donald, and have been trying
- 43:09Speaker 1: to get it back to glorious state. But how do
- 43:12Speaker 1: you get it? So? How do you get it to? Yeah?
- 43:14Speaker 1: How do you get it so full? Like I got
- 43:16Speaker 1: a pull mine, Like I get out of the shower
- 43:19Speaker 1: and it's a mat pretty much. You know. Don't use
- 43:22Speaker 1: I use And you can go on Instagram and Facebook.
- 43:25Speaker 1: There's a there's a great champion and conditioner at there
- 43:27Speaker 1: called Polish Gentleman. Okay, well, I've gotten into their products
- 43:31Speaker 1: for the last two years. They they're really good. They
- 43:34Speaker 1: actually have some caffeine in it and stuff which apparently
- 43:36Speaker 1: helps stimulate beard grow good beard oil Zack. That's what
- 43:40Speaker 1: we should do, that's what we should do. We should
- 43:42Speaker 1: get into facial men's groom. If you get into I
- 43:47Speaker 1: should get into minute. We should we should get into mental.
- 43:49Speaker 1: Give you a facial? Fuck you, dude, No, do you
- 43:52Speaker 1: want a facial for me? What kind of what kind
- 43:54Speaker 1: of what kind of talking about you're gonna have? You're
- 43:59Speaker 1: gonna have? I'm gonna give you some brafts. I'm gonna
- 44:02Speaker 1: give you a quarter million brafs like a bunch of generations.
- 44:05Speaker 1: I'm gonna I'm gonna give you a quarter million braf
- 44:07Speaker 1: facial isn't a quarter only a quarter million? That's all
- 44:13Speaker 1: you got. I think I once googled. I got a
- 44:15Speaker 1: little account, dude, No, Joelle, would you mind googling that?
- 44:19Speaker 1: I think I want google? How many sperm are in
- 44:21Speaker 1: the typical mail ejaculation Juell. I hope that's okay. I
- 44:25Speaker 1: can put Danial on this assignment if you will. But
- 44:27Speaker 1: I think I once I think I once googled and
- 44:32Speaker 1: it was a quarter million in the typical mail ejaculation. No,
- 44:36Speaker 1: twenty million in each millimeter. There are normally one hundred
- 44:39Speaker 1: million sperm. If twenty million sperm millimeter, there's usually some
- 44:44Speaker 1: trouble with fertility. Yeah, so dude, h no, no, no, no, no,
- 44:48Speaker 1: no no no. I didn't measure. I didn't measure my ejaculation.
- 44:52Speaker 1: I'm I'm talking about in the average mail ejaculation. Can
- 44:55Speaker 1: you get that figure? Because you said millimeters, Joel, and
- 44:58Speaker 1: everyone probably has different. Sorry, Leader, I'm sorry, John, I'm
- 45:08Speaker 1: sorry as raunchy as it possible. No, no, we will
- 45:14Speaker 1: keep it you. We're just talking about we're talking we're
- 45:17Speaker 1: talking about science. What we're talking about the little cart
- 45:21Speaker 1: the little cartoon versions that you guys do at the show. Yeah,
- 45:24Speaker 1: have you with like, you know, a little science looking
- 45:29Speaker 1: at semen form count Well, I don't know, I don't know.
- 45:37Speaker 1: I still don't understand. Maybe you well figured out. But
- 45:39Speaker 1: I was told that in the average typical male ejaculation
- 45:44Speaker 1: there's a quarter million potential children. There is quite a bit,
- 45:49Speaker 1: so I'm gonna say it's more than that. But okay,
- 45:51Speaker 1: well maybe in your I do have nine kids, You're right,
- 45:56Speaker 1: yours are Yours is probably more packed in. They're like
- 46:03Speaker 1: shoulder to shoulder, They're like right, they're like a pickle jar.
- 46:06Speaker 1: It's like a pickle jar. It was it was funny
- 46:09Speaker 1: because somebody I know you're a football fan. Donald I
- 46:11Speaker 1: saw after the Bills won their division. The other day,
- 46:14Speaker 1: someone posted a picture of a sperm and it said,
- 46:16Speaker 1: Josh Allen, the last time the Bills wanted to But
- 46:21Speaker 1: you saw this coming last year. Man. When the Bill
- 46:23Speaker 1: started winning last year, everybody was like, this is impossible,
- 46:26Speaker 1: this can't be. But now look at here we are
- 46:29Speaker 1: one year later and the Bills are still winning. They're
- 46:31Speaker 1: a good football team. It's official. I think they'll be
- 46:35Speaker 1: happy to know that. I watched some of the Northwestern
- 46:37Speaker 1: game on Donald like I was, I got I got interested,
- 46:41Speaker 1: and I watched a solid fifteen minutes of it, and
- 46:46Speaker 1: where you they were winning. They were winning against Ohio State,
- 46:50Speaker 1: I believe it was. And then number eight on Ohio
- 46:52Speaker 1: State he was just really good and he just kept
- 46:54Speaker 1: doing shit and did Ohio State win the game. All
- 46:59Speaker 1: I know is if you're an umber eight on Ohio State,
- 47:01Speaker 1: I think you're gonna you're gonna do well in the
- 47:03Speaker 1: football career. People up with the college stuff that much.
- 47:07Speaker 1: I'm a balls fan and that's probably why that we
- 47:09Speaker 1: never the Tennessee balls never Windell, you're still working on
- 47:13Speaker 1: the assignment, Tim chang Grass. Okay, so do you have
- 47:18Speaker 1: a question for Zach Braff or Donald Fazon or Daniel
- 47:23Speaker 1: Goodman or Joel Monique. Well, another good tip. You need
- 47:27Speaker 1: to Boston Boston Supplements. It's the it's hair and nail
- 47:31Speaker 1: and skin growth. And I'll take I take those. It
- 47:34Speaker 1: will help it seriously helps will work for the hair?
- 47:37Speaker 1: Will it work for the hair? It's too late for
- 47:39Speaker 1: your Shut the fuck up. I don't think. I don't
- 47:44Speaker 1: think any shut stuff up. You. You know the only
- 47:47Speaker 1: thing it's gonna work on that receiving hairline your face
- 47:51Speaker 1: quarter million braths. Well, you need to hurry up and
- 47:58Speaker 1: get over here my way. All right, all right, what's
- 48:02Speaker 1: your question, sir? We have to focus. Well, actually, Zach,
- 48:07Speaker 1: I wanted to thank you because you guys had Josh
- 48:09Speaker 1: on the other day and I was listening to him
- 48:12Speaker 1: and he's one of the great musicians I discovered from
- 48:14Speaker 1: from listening to But I wanted to tell you something.
- 48:19Speaker 1: Do you remember this from season nine? Do you remember
- 48:23Speaker 1: wearing this William fitz Simmons shirt. Yes, I love William
- 48:26Speaker 1: fitz Simmons. So twelve years ago I was on moths
- 48:29Speaker 1: Space and you posted something from the Sparrow the Crow,
- 48:31Speaker 1: and that man's music had changed my life. I actually
- 48:34Speaker 1: have I have two. Oh my god, he's got tats
- 48:39Speaker 1: about William Fitzsimmons's beautiful and that you don't know William
- 48:45Speaker 1: fitz Simmons music and you're a Scrubs fan. I highly
- 48:47Speaker 1: recommend because it's in the style of Josh and actually
- 48:52Speaker 1: he and Josh toure together and he's incredibly talented. And
- 48:57Speaker 1: his first album, what was the album where there was
- 49:00Speaker 1: of like some electronic and you mean the two hundred
- 49:04Speaker 1: and fifty millions sperm cells released during sex? You mean
- 49:07Speaker 1: that album? I know I had a brain fart because
- 49:10Speaker 1: they really did mean to say two dteen million, not
- 49:12Speaker 1: twenty fifty thousand. I believe you. I really did. Okay,
- 49:16Speaker 1: so I was saying a quarter million, but I'm mean
- 49:18Speaker 1: a quarter billion. You're saying about your dude. You're a
- 49:21Speaker 1: musician guy. Anyway, William fitz Simmons, there was an album.
- 49:24Speaker 1: It's first. I think it was his first. It had
- 49:25Speaker 1: sort of some electronica, uh, sort of mixed in with
- 49:29Speaker 1: the acoustic guitar. It was so original. I really really
- 49:32Speaker 1: liked that stuff. It's until When Were Your Ghost? Yes,
- 49:36Speaker 1: there's a song called It's Not True. That's just amazing.
- 49:40Speaker 1: All right, sir, what's your question? So I've actually what
- 49:44Speaker 1: taught Bill ELL's I was Rene Brown. Everyone probably here
- 49:48Speaker 1: knows who Benet Brown is. She does the questions at
- 49:51Speaker 1: the end of her podcast. Yes, I sent a man
- 49:53Speaker 1: and they're well recommended, a few of them, but I'm
- 49:56Speaker 1: going to pick one scrubs question and in one of
- 49:59Speaker 1: Renee's questions, Okay, the most interesting out of Burne's was
- 50:02Speaker 1: a concert that you will never forget. A concert that
- 50:07Speaker 1: you will never forget. I'll go ferry for first. It
- 50:11Speaker 1: was my first concert. It was Rush at Madison Square
- 50:15Speaker 1: Garden and me and all my friends took the train in.
- 50:20Speaker 1: We were like, I don't know, fourteen years old, and
- 50:23Speaker 1: we took the train into Madison Square Garden and we
- 50:27Speaker 1: were drinking can can be or out of out of
- 50:29Speaker 1: bags and I proceeded to get way too drunk, way
- 50:34Speaker 1: too drunk, like fourteen year old kid drunk in the city.
- 50:38Speaker 1: And I was like swinging, and I remember the concert
- 50:41Speaker 1: started and I was like, oh no, like I've had
- 50:45Speaker 1: too much. And instead of I knew, I knew I
- 50:48Speaker 1: wasn't gonna I knew I was either gonna be sick
- 50:50Speaker 1: or something bad was gonna happen. So I just stood
- 50:53Speaker 1: up and left, and I got back on the train
- 50:57Speaker 1: and went home. I heard like three I heard like
- 51:00Speaker 1: three songs of Rush, and my friends were all like,
- 51:03Speaker 1: where'd you go? Where'd you go? Where do you go?
- 51:04Speaker 1: And little did they know I had. I took the
- 51:06Speaker 1: train home because I was too drunk, and I was
- 51:08Speaker 1: worried that I was gonna compute my very first concert.
- 51:12Speaker 1: I'm so sorry. I'm sorry, Donald will about you a
- 51:16Speaker 1: concert you'll never forget. Okay Yo the Fuji's before they
- 51:20Speaker 1: blew the fuck up the food I got a chance
- 51:23Speaker 1: to see them at NYU right around the time when
- 51:26Speaker 1: uh that one album dropped, right when Laura I had.
- 51:29Speaker 1: I knew Lauren because we did a movie together when
- 51:32Speaker 1: we were younger, and she was telling me about this
- 51:34Speaker 1: band and they had just dropped Mona, Lisa, can I
- 51:38Speaker 1: get a date on Friday? And if you're busy, I
- 51:40Speaker 1: wouldn't mind take inks at her day? Ay ay ay
- 51:44Speaker 1: round up the posse. Foodie's coming around the way right,
- 51:49Speaker 1: And so it was at NYU, and I remember they
- 51:51Speaker 1: had everybody outside and it was some really tiny dude
- 51:55Speaker 1: at the door and he was like, nobody else is
- 51:58Speaker 1: coming in. We're at capacity, and they will a bunch
- 52:01Speaker 1: of us outside. And this is the first concert I
- 52:04Speaker 1: ever did this, But we bum rushed a concert. I
- 52:08Speaker 1: had never done that in my life. They threw this
- 52:10Speaker 1: little kid out the way, and then we rushed into
- 52:13Speaker 1: the concert and we got to see Fuji's and groove
- 52:17Speaker 1: theory banging. Okay, all right, John, what's your next question? Well, Dan, Dan,
- 52:32Speaker 1: and they will want to answer that too. Okay, Dan,
- 52:36Speaker 1: I can answer in seven seconds, Yeah, Joe, well you
- 52:38Speaker 1: go first. I also haven't answered ready. Basse Nectar Halloween
- 52:42Speaker 1: twenty twelve. I want to say my second time hippie flipping,
- 52:49Speaker 1: which is the combination of drugs I won't reveal here
- 52:51Speaker 1: because children listen. It was loud, it was Basse Throbby,
- 52:59Speaker 1: We did some why things and a taxi are It
- 53:02Speaker 1: was like, this were the most incredible nights of my
- 53:04Speaker 1: entire life. Yeah, okay, wow, Wow, what an incredible answer.
- 53:12Speaker 1: That's good. All right, Danel, what's your answer real quick?
- 53:15Speaker 1: Recently I went to a concert with my whole family.
- 53:17Speaker 1: It was my mom, dad, and sister. It's so rare
- 53:19Speaker 1: that we share all the same music. Taste for one
- 53:21Speaker 1: particular thing, but it was a postal service with bats
- 53:25Speaker 1: and Big Frieda opening at the Greek Theater and just
- 53:29Speaker 1: having like going to a show with my parents and
- 53:31Speaker 1: having them see Big FRIEDA, who is like a New
- 53:33Speaker 1: Orleans bounce artist. She's amazing. I highly recommend you all
- 53:36Speaker 1: listen to Big Frieda if you haven't. But having Big
- 53:38Speaker 1: Free to open for Postal Service, a band that my
- 53:40Speaker 1: whole family likes, and then Big FREEDA, who's someone that
- 53:43Speaker 1: I really like but my family is not necessarily aware of,
- 53:48Speaker 1: and just being like, so, guys, this is New Orleans
- 53:51Speaker 1: bounce music and there's gonna be a lot of booty
- 53:54Speaker 1: shaking and you're just gonna have to be ready for that.
- 53:56Speaker 1: And then seeing my my very old father just being
- 53:59Speaker 1: like this is this is interesting? It is cool. And
- 54:05Speaker 1: concerts with your parents. I I, you know, I wouldn't
- 54:08Speaker 1: my dad passed away, but I definitely would be. I
- 54:11Speaker 1: don't think we would agree on the same music unless
- 54:13Speaker 1: it was, you know, musical theater, which we both love.
- 54:16Speaker 1: But like, they know, it's cool that you can go
- 54:17Speaker 1: to a show with your dad. It was very it
- 54:19Speaker 1: was very lucky that we all shared the music taste
- 54:21Speaker 1: for this one group. It was their final tour. It
- 54:23Speaker 1: was like, everybody's old enough to go to a concert,
- 54:25Speaker 1: let's make it this one. And it was really an
- 54:27Speaker 1: amazing time. All right, John H Next question, Uh so
- 54:31Speaker 1: this this would be my my Scrows question. So you
- 54:34Speaker 1: know I've always treated Scrubs like the camera and the
- 54:36Speaker 1: music because I have all the seasons on DVD. I
- 54:39Speaker 1: don't I don't fool with because screw the music up
- 54:42Speaker 1: too much. And you're smart character, and so you know,
- 54:47Speaker 1: there's so many great musical montages or I mean the
- 54:49Speaker 1: finale that season a finale is you know one of
- 54:52Speaker 1: my favorites doctor Consons and those three patients Laverne with
- 54:57Speaker 1: Bretton and another great phenomenal artist that you do looking
- 55:00Speaker 1: to you on the show. Do you guys have a
- 55:02Speaker 1: favorite musical montage from the show? I don't. I don't
- 55:05Speaker 1: believe if I's ever asked this, I haven't heard it,
- 55:07Speaker 1: and I've listened to the entire podcast. That is a
- 55:10Speaker 1: very good question. I my brain first, I guess it's
- 55:14Speaker 1: not technically a musical montage because it's a musical number,
- 55:16Speaker 1: but my brain first went to that in the in
- 55:18Speaker 1: the musical episode that that that song where we're sort
- 55:21Speaker 1: of spoofing lame Is. It's going to be okay, No,
- 55:27Speaker 1: that's a that's the beginning. No no, no, no, no,
- 55:31Speaker 1: you're but that's that's five hundred and twenty five thousand,
- 55:34Speaker 1: that's what that's a bite of. It's going to be. Okay,
- 55:37Speaker 1: that's what's going to happen, happen everything. Okay, we're right
- 55:41Speaker 1: here beside you, right here, we will stay. I don't know.
- 55:47Speaker 1: There's this moment that sort of a lame Is moment
- 55:49Speaker 1: we're all marching. Yes, I like that. I mean, I
- 55:53Speaker 1: think it's hard to top the musical, but it doesn't
- 55:55Speaker 1: really count as a musical montage. I don't know, Donald's
- 55:57Speaker 1: you have an answer for a Scrubs musical montage. Yeah,
- 56:02Speaker 1: you know, it's not necessarily the music that did it
- 56:06Speaker 1: for me. It's how it's how the voice over acts
- 56:13Speaker 1: with the music. So one of my favorite ones, and
- 56:18Speaker 1: I don't know exactly which one it is, and I
- 56:19Speaker 1: think you made it up, but it's the one where
- 56:25Speaker 1: Elizabeth Bogis is on the show and it's the first
- 56:27Speaker 1: time you guys have a date. And I don't know
- 56:29Speaker 1: what song is playing. But there's two of them. Actually,
- 56:33Speaker 1: that's one of them are picnic and you're like, unless
- 56:36Speaker 1: you like chicken salad, Yeah, that's the one I stole
- 56:40Speaker 1: for Garden State. That's right. But but that's then occurs
- 56:45Speaker 1: with this time, right. But that song and your monologue
- 56:49Speaker 1: on that song work just like your that song and
- 56:53Speaker 1: just like your monologue and the song when Turk finally
- 56:57Speaker 1: asks Carla to marry him and she says, yeah, someday
- 57:01Speaker 1: somebody's gonna ask you. Uh, that point is found that
- 57:06Speaker 1: it's the way the monologue, the way the end monologue
- 57:10Speaker 1: uh is merged with the song is what makes it special.
- 57:15Speaker 1: It's not just the song. It sounds like you're turning
- 57:17Speaker 1: this into a compliment, I am, it's it's also your
- 57:22Speaker 1: voice and how you ride the beat of the song
- 57:25Speaker 1: or these are very important things. You know, when you're
- 57:28Speaker 1: in the flow and you're riding the wave with the song,
- 57:30Speaker 1: it makes the monologue even more poignant and more. You know,
- 57:33Speaker 1: my dulcet tones are enjoyable to the ear. My dulcet
- 57:36Speaker 1: tones that you're speaking of, Donald Is are probably the
- 57:39Speaker 1: reason that I was cast as Chicken Little. The intonations
- 57:45Speaker 1: I used to wrap up the show is probably the
- 57:48Speaker 1: reason I was hired to be Chicken Little. I do
- 57:52Speaker 1: you think so? Can you just give me an example
- 57:54Speaker 1: of a the sky's falling real quick, the sky is falling.
- 57:59Speaker 1: Are you go everybody? Yeah? I can, I can see
- 58:01Speaker 1: I can yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah yeah. People don't know
- 58:04Speaker 1: I'm Chicken Little. Their minds are blown when they find
- 58:06Speaker 1: out a lot of people didn't see Chicken Little, zack
- 58:08Speaker 1: a lot of people. It hurts quite a few people
- 58:14Speaker 1: saw Chicken a Little. Thank you. Yeah, well, he's right there.
- 58:17Speaker 1: Not enough people saw it to get a sequel. But
- 58:19Speaker 1: it did do. It did do all right. But he's right.
- 58:22Speaker 1: There's not a lot of Chicken Little love out there.
- 58:24Speaker 1: There isn't a lot of Chicken Little. My kids saw
- 58:26Speaker 1: Chicken Little and they loved it. I know. But when
- 58:29Speaker 1: I go to the parks, you can't find Chicken a
- 58:31Speaker 1: Little gear. I always look. There's no Chicken Little ride.
- 58:37Speaker 1: There's no Chicken Little ride at Disneyland. Joel, do you
- 58:40Speaker 1: like Chicken Little? You're at Disney fan She's never still.
- 58:43Speaker 1: We watched it a lot in Spanish class. Of course,
- 58:49Speaker 1: she's I didn't get the one that heard your voice
- 58:50Speaker 1: a lot. But they heard the Spanish version of Chicken
- 58:54Speaker 1: a Little, but it wasn't your voice. Hold on, hold on,
- 58:58Speaker 1: hold lot of second, I've only seen the Spanish version
- 59:01Speaker 1: of Chicken a Little. Well, that's not me, Joel. Sorry,
- 59:09Speaker 1: so fun though here I am. I'm so happy that
- 59:13Speaker 1: Joel has at least seen Chicken a Little a bunch
- 59:14Speaker 1: of times. And she's like, but I've only seen the
- 59:16Speaker 1: Spanish that's really funny. Oh my god. All right, it's
- 59:23Speaker 1: time for Tennessee's favorite segment. Everybody, Donald, it's time to
- 59:28Speaker 1: fix your life. John, let us, let us help you,
- 59:35Speaker 1: Let us help you. We're here, we're free therapists. We're
- 59:37Speaker 1: batting a thousand on helping people and saving their lives.
- 59:40Speaker 1: Were three therapists and Donald, that's what he meant to say. Good,
- 59:46Speaker 1: So yeah, I was. Actually I have not written in
- 59:49Speaker 1: one hundred and sixty times like the wind dude did,
- 59:51Speaker 1: but I've sent quite a few emails and U and
- 59:54Speaker 1: one of them I tied Old Kanzack's mom helped fix
- 59:57Speaker 1: my life. And it's because I'm also I'm a foster
- 1:00:00Speaker 1: care therapist working on my licenser, and so I work
- 1:00:04Speaker 1: with teenagers, think kids that are eighteen here in foster care,
- 1:00:08Speaker 1: which if I can just plug foster care right now,
- 1:00:11Speaker 1: like numbers are down across the country for foster parents
- 1:00:14Speaker 1: and foster home. So if you're listening and you want
- 1:00:16Speaker 1: to do something good, and you're thinking about having kids
- 1:00:19Speaker 1: or wanting kids, please look into becoming a foster parent,
- 1:00:21Speaker 1: because a foster cares across the country's hurting right now
- 1:00:25Speaker 1: because of COVID. So so I was wondering if you've
- 1:00:29Speaker 1: ever heard your mom say anything about like working with
- 1:00:31Speaker 1: teenage clients who are very I don't like the word
- 1:00:34Speaker 1: resistant as a therapist and a clinician, It's just that
- 1:00:37Speaker 1: they're very If you think about it in terms of
- 1:00:40Speaker 1: Burnet Brown's work, they are just armored up and are
- 1:00:44Speaker 1: not willing to be vulnerable if you do not want
- 1:00:46Speaker 1: to be Brown. And I can understand why I've spent
- 1:00:48Speaker 1: a couple of nights in a foster home growing up
- 1:00:50Speaker 1: and having a bad childhood. You don't want to talk
- 1:00:52Speaker 1: to anybody. You don't want to share that trauma and
- 1:00:54Speaker 1: get into it. So I just wonder, zac if you've
- 1:00:56Speaker 1: ever heard your mom talk about clients she's had as
- 1:00:59Speaker 1: a child's ecologists and how she maybe works with kids
- 1:01:02Speaker 1: that are a little more difficult to get to open
- 1:01:05Speaker 1: up and get them sharing and talking about their I
- 1:01:09Speaker 1: don't know. I can tell you they do a lot
- 1:01:10Speaker 1: of play therapy. And I used to do play therapy
- 1:01:12Speaker 1: when I was in counseling as a child. So I
- 1:01:15Speaker 1: think the idea is that you, you know, get the
- 1:01:18Speaker 1: child involved with a game of some sort or toys
- 1:01:22Speaker 1: so that they're not focused on the obvious, and that
- 1:01:25Speaker 1: you can then you know, they would bring the children
- 1:01:28Speaker 1: into a room filled with toys, whether it's a dollhouse
- 1:01:31Speaker 1: or cars, you name it. It's all got all the
- 1:01:33Speaker 1: any toy a kid would like, you know, within reason,
- 1:01:35Speaker 1: and not video games obviously. And then and then they
- 1:01:39Speaker 1: see what the child gravitates towards, and then try and
- 1:01:43Speaker 1: play with the child and get the child talking about
- 1:01:45Speaker 1: what's going on in their lives using the toys. So
- 1:01:49Speaker 1: the child may not realize that they're opening up and
- 1:01:51Speaker 1: and and and some of their layers are coming off
- 1:01:54Speaker 1: because they feel they're just talking to the therapist about
- 1:01:58Speaker 1: the dolls in the kitchen of a doll house. And
- 1:02:01Speaker 1: and and then my mom, a skilled child psychologist, would
- 1:02:05Speaker 1: then say, okay, well you know, they just kind of
- 1:02:07Speaker 1: let the child steer where the conversations going and and okay, oh,
- 1:02:12Speaker 1: who do you want me to be? I want you
- 1:02:13Speaker 1: to be the dad? And then okay, I'm going to
- 1:02:15Speaker 1: be the dad. What does the dad say when he
- 1:02:17Speaker 1: comes home? You know, I'm just making sit up. But
- 1:02:19Speaker 1: but my I think I know that my my, both
- 1:02:22Speaker 1: my mother and my stepfather used a lot of play
- 1:02:24Speaker 1: therapy with children because that was a good way to
- 1:02:27Speaker 1: sort of get to know what was going on behind
- 1:02:30Speaker 1: their armor, as you say, without them, you know, essentially
- 1:02:35Speaker 1: knowing what was happening, they're just opening up because in
- 1:02:37Speaker 1: their minds they're just playing. We have a certified play
- 1:02:41Speaker 1: therapist at our agency, and she's phenomenal. And then of
- 1:02:45Speaker 1: course I've been working from home for ten months and
- 1:02:47Speaker 1: so that's obviously that makes things like play therapy and
- 1:02:51Speaker 1: the former therapy I'm really interested in. And the training
- 1:02:55Speaker 1: I was that's called m d R. So they're wanting
- 1:02:58Speaker 1: trauma treatment. Tell everyone what that is and layman's terms.
- 1:03:02Speaker 1: Because this has come up a lot, and I'm glad
- 1:03:05Speaker 1: you brought it up, by the way, because this has
- 1:03:07Speaker 1: come up a lot in my life lately. Em Dr
- 1:03:10Speaker 1: and I know multiple people who've had very traumatic things
- 1:03:14Speaker 1: happen in their lives and this has helped them. So John,
- 1:03:18Speaker 1: just you know there's that thing on Reddit like explain it,
- 1:03:20Speaker 1: Like I'm five, Can you explain to the listeners, like
- 1:03:23Speaker 1: in the simplest terms what EMDR is. Yeah, Well, so
- 1:03:27Speaker 1: EMDR sands for I movement, desensitization and reprocessing. So basically
- 1:03:33Speaker 1: what and if the producer are listening. The creator of
- 1:03:36Speaker 1: this theory who she developed it a few years after
- 1:03:39Speaker 1: I was born on thirty three, so this is late eighties.
- 1:03:41Speaker 1: I think she created. Francine Shapiro Getting Past Her Pass
- 1:03:45Speaker 1: is a great book, Getting Past your Past pastor past
- 1:03:49Speaker 1: take control of your life with self help techniques from
- 1:03:51Speaker 1: em DR therapy. Yeah, that's really good. I want to
- 1:03:54Speaker 1: write that down myself. But but but just explain to
- 1:03:56Speaker 1: people because it's a little bit it's a little bit
- 1:03:59Speaker 1: wacky with the first time you hear it. But I
- 1:04:01Speaker 1: can tell you I know people that it has helped,
- 1:04:03Speaker 1: So just explain to me what it is. So what
- 1:04:06Speaker 1: do you MDR is that they use several techniques and
- 1:04:09Speaker 1: what you'll do is once the client is ready, So
- 1:04:12Speaker 1: we have what's called resourcing techniques first. So what resourcing
- 1:04:15Speaker 1: does is basically helped keep the client grounded in the
- 1:04:18Speaker 1: present while having one foot in the past enough to
- 1:04:21Speaker 1: actually talk about the trauma. And so really what AMDR
- 1:04:25Speaker 1: is all about is using eye movements or bilateral stimulation.
- 1:04:29Speaker 1: You can you can do the tapping like this, or
- 1:04:31Speaker 1: you can tap on your on your knees. Usually though,
- 1:04:34Speaker 1: it's you have the client follow you for a set
- 1:04:37Speaker 1: of odd movements back and forth like this, and the
- 1:04:40Speaker 1: science is not exactly sure what is going on neurologically
- 1:04:43Speaker 1: in the brain that causes this effect. There's there's a
- 1:04:47Speaker 1: couple of different schools as well, but basically what that
- 1:04:49Speaker 1: helps it She came up with this idea based off
- 1:04:52Speaker 1: Rimsley because our odds move in our sleep, right, and
- 1:04:56Speaker 1: that the odd movement does something in our brains neurologically
- 1:04:59Speaker 1: to help us process unprocessed memories that are causing us grief, pain, despair, whatever.
- 1:05:07Speaker 1: And so it's actually, I mean it's it's approved by
- 1:05:11Speaker 1: World Health Organization and sam Shaw and who is the
- 1:05:16Speaker 1: other big big thing it's been it's been going to
- 1:05:19Speaker 1: be the most one of the most effective treatments for
- 1:05:21Speaker 1: PTSD and tromp. It sounds like hypnosis. It's actually the
- 1:05:25Speaker 1: lady that I did this week long intensive training with
- 1:05:27Speaker 1: back in November. She was a certified hip hypnosis too.
- 1:05:31Speaker 1: She did n DBT therapy and hypnosis, but she's a
- 1:05:35Speaker 1: certified the m DR therapist as well. It is kind
- 1:05:37Speaker 1: of it makes you think there is like, you know,
- 1:05:39Speaker 1: there's some well it's that classic thing we always see
- 1:05:41Speaker 1: with with the with the with the stop Watch coming
- 1:05:44Speaker 1: back and forth. But but John just sort of even
- 1:05:47Speaker 1: the sound with the from uh get get out. Oh
- 1:05:52Speaker 1: oh yeah, the same thing I was gonna say. So,
- 1:05:56Speaker 1: just so if you're clear what John's talking about is
- 1:05:58Speaker 1: that you John and Mike understand it right that you are.
- 1:06:02Speaker 1: Let's say that let's say that the therapist is using
- 1:06:04Speaker 1: the back and forth technique. Your eyes are going left
- 1:06:06Speaker 1: and right, left and right as you recount a traumatic event,
- 1:06:10Speaker 1: and and over time that softens your brain's reaction to
- 1:06:14Speaker 1: the to the trauma. Am I am? I correct? I
- 1:06:17Speaker 1: think that's a pretty good way to put it. Basically,
- 1:06:19Speaker 1: you know, you can target any disturbance really, so there's
- 1:06:22Speaker 1: actually like different forms of EMDR that you can work on.
- 1:06:25Speaker 1: One like, okay, somebody said something that really offended me
- 1:06:28Speaker 1: or hurt my feelings this week, you can you can
- 1:06:30Speaker 1: do this and work on it. And basically it's kind
- 1:06:33Speaker 1: of like a free flowing I almost kind of like
- 1:06:35Speaker 1: to think of it as like a stream of consciousness
- 1:06:37Speaker 1: thing whatever comes to mind, you don't you just like
- 1:06:40Speaker 1: whatever comes up in your mind and your feelings and
- 1:06:42Speaker 1: what your emotions are going through as you're doing the ball,
- 1:06:44Speaker 1: add withal simulation with the odd movements or the or
- 1:06:46Speaker 1: the tapping, whichever one your your therapist is working with,
- 1:06:50Speaker 1: and then you know you'll do that. You know it's
- 1:06:52Speaker 1: ten or fifteen sets of it, and then notice what
- 1:06:55Speaker 1: the therapist will ask you what are your feeling? What
- 1:06:56Speaker 1: are you thinking? And then what there's a gage. There's
- 1:07:00Speaker 1: a scale in MDR, so if you're disturbed, if your
- 1:07:03Speaker 1: level I can't remember exactly what it was because I'm
- 1:07:05Speaker 1: still very much new to this and learn it, but
- 1:07:08Speaker 1: the therapist will ask on a scale one to ten,
- 1:07:10Speaker 1: how to disturbed? Are you right? And let's say you
- 1:07:11Speaker 1: start out with a eight. Do several sets of the
- 1:07:14Speaker 1: balladdal sipulations and they are movements or the tapping, and
- 1:07:17Speaker 1: the goal is to lessen the disturbance, right, and so
- 1:07:19Speaker 1: to get you down to like a two or three,
- 1:07:21Speaker 1: maybe even a four where it's okay. And then like
- 1:07:24Speaker 1: on the broad on the very broad form of MDR,
- 1:07:27Speaker 1: which you know can take multiple sessions, it is to
- 1:07:30Speaker 1: help you process an unprocessed memory that it could be
- 1:07:34Speaker 1: very traumatic, and then help you heal from that memory.
- 1:07:36Speaker 1: I actually had a former clergy person in mine in
- 1:07:40Speaker 1: my life who I think suffered some kind of immense
- 1:07:44Speaker 1: abuse in childhood. So maybe he did an MDR and
- 1:07:47Speaker 1: found like that it was the most incredible therapy he's
- 1:07:50Speaker 1: ever done. And that Yeah, I've heard a lot of
- 1:07:52Speaker 1: positive feedback. So if you're if you're listening and you
- 1:07:54Speaker 1: and you have some PTSD or some trauma that's really
- 1:07:58Speaker 1: holding you back, or some thing really hurtful that you
- 1:08:03Speaker 1: can't seem to let go of, look into this and
- 1:08:05Speaker 1: maybe you can find a therapist in your area. It's
- 1:08:08Speaker 1: called EMDR and the book is called Getting Past Your Past.
- 1:08:13Speaker 1: You also mentioned Bernie Brown, who I just want to
- 1:08:15Speaker 1: touch on. There's a book she wrote called Daring Greatly
- 1:08:18Speaker 1: that I got a lot out of. Oh, for anyone
- 1:08:20Speaker 1: going through a hard time right now, if you actually
- 1:08:22Speaker 1: got to see Mom and Bernie on the Breathing of
- 1:08:24Speaker 1: Wilderness tour. I was like right in front of the stage,
- 1:08:27Speaker 1: like she looked at me a couple of times, and
- 1:08:28Speaker 1: I was like, I'm fam blowing as hard as I
- 1:08:31Speaker 1: am with you guys today when I'm I recommend any
- 1:08:34Speaker 1: and all of her books. I went through it a
- 1:08:35Speaker 1: couple of years ago, and her her work on shame
- 1:08:40Speaker 1: has been foundationally this life changing for me if and
- 1:08:43Speaker 1: she's she's a little more accessible than some of the
- 1:08:46Speaker 1: MDR stuff too. So Bernie Brown became famous initially because
- 1:08:50Speaker 1: she had a TED talk about shame and it went
- 1:08:54Speaker 1: so viral. I think it's the most watched TED talk
- 1:08:57Speaker 1: if not one of you can see it on YouTube
- 1:09:00Speaker 1: if you want. That'll take you twenty minutes if you
- 1:09:02Speaker 1: if you don't have time for anything else, watch watch
- 1:09:05Speaker 1: Brene Brown's first TED talk on YouTube. It's twenty minutes long.
- 1:09:08Speaker 1: It's really powerful too. You can actually find em DR
- 1:09:12Speaker 1: therapist if you don't mind me to plug this. It's
- 1:09:14Speaker 1: called E M d R International Association. And then the
- 1:09:17Speaker 1: website is www dot E M d R i A
- 1:09:21Speaker 1: dot org. So it's IMDREA dot org. So E M
- 1:09:25Speaker 1: D r i a dot org and you can go
- 1:09:27Speaker 1: on so like, find a therapist in your area and
- 1:09:31Speaker 1: check it out if it doesn't work for you, doesn't
- 1:09:32Speaker 1: work and you know it, but it's really interesting and
- 1:09:35Speaker 1: and you know you might as you're listening to this
- 1:09:37Speaker 1: and if you if you're interested, you read up on it,
- 1:09:39Speaker 1: you might think it sounds a little wacky. But I'm
- 1:09:41Speaker 1: telling you be open to wacky things because they sometimes work.
- 1:09:45Speaker 1: I'm very open to all sorts of wacky New Age things.
- 1:09:48Speaker 1: And sometimes they're placebos, and sometimes they change people's lives.
- 1:09:52Speaker 1: And there's obviously enough data on this embr to have
- 1:09:56Speaker 1: it showing a difference in people's lives, so it's not
- 1:09:58Speaker 1: it's not voodoo very much. It's been research. Yeah, yeah,
- 1:10:02Speaker 1: it's very very well well, John, I think this is
- 1:10:04Speaker 1: the first time you've fixed everybody else's lives. You seem
- 1:10:09Speaker 1: like a very nice person. If I if I lived
- 1:10:12Speaker 1: in your area, I would want to be your friend.
- 1:10:14Speaker 1: I would I would. I think I would hang up
- 1:10:16Speaker 1: from this and be like, John, do you want to
- 1:10:20Speaker 1: get coffee sometime and just chat. I just feel like
- 1:10:23Speaker 1: you seem like a very good man. The Starbucks right
- 1:10:26Speaker 1: around the corner and you and I could. I've been
- 1:10:28Speaker 1: I've been begging William pitt Simmons to come to Johnson
- 1:10:30Speaker 1: City for years because just like right across the state
- 1:10:33Speaker 1: from me, and trying to get him come. So you
- 1:10:35Speaker 1: and I get hit him up and say, hey, dude's there.
- 1:10:37Speaker 1: Oh my god, sitting with you and William it seems
- 1:10:40Speaker 1: like a dream. But no, but thank you for coming on.
- 1:10:43Speaker 1: You're thank you for being a great fan of the show,
- 1:10:45Speaker 1: and and thank you for making a difference in your life.
- 1:10:49Speaker 1: You know, I Donald and I hope that we make
- 1:10:51Speaker 1: a tiny difference by making people giggle during this wacky time.
- 1:10:54Speaker 1: But you're actually doing something quite noble and working with
- 1:10:57Speaker 1: foster children and uh and we we we on behalf
- 1:11:00Speaker 1: of society. We thank you, thank you, thank you. Thanks,
- 1:11:04Speaker 1: I'll take care of be happy you're up for john
- 1:11:12Speaker 1: This is like in the supermarket aisle when you say
- 1:11:14Speaker 1: hi to someone and then you see them in every
- 1:11:16Speaker 1: aisle after that, there's always that moment where you're like,
- 1:11:20Speaker 1: oh you again, Oh got us, we got us start
- 1:11:24Speaker 1: meeting like and the like, have like finally, just don't
- 1:11:26Speaker 1: go down the aisle when you see and you have
- 1:11:28Speaker 1: like ten aisles of cringe. Well, I always feel that
- 1:11:31Speaker 1: when we say goodbye of the guests and there's like
- 1:11:33Speaker 1: four seconds that we're all just sitting there winning from
- 1:11:35Speaker 1: it to leave. Wow, what an amazing man. Yeah, that's
- 1:11:39Speaker 1: really cool, dude, good guest, Joel, thank you. So let's
- 1:11:42Speaker 1: go over because we're running along. Let's go over these
- 1:11:45Speaker 1: uh that when it switches to the multiverts, when we
- 1:11:48Speaker 1: go to when the butterfly effect takes effects. Let's start
- 1:11:51Speaker 1: from the top. Butterfly lands on the boop on the
- 1:11:53Speaker 1: first act, Butterfly lands on the man boop in the
- 1:11:55Speaker 1: second act. Uh. First act Banjo playing by j DS,
- 1:12:00Speaker 1: second act ban Joe, Duo, Cox and Kelso. First act
- 1:12:07Speaker 1: Jad's a lefty. Second act JD's a righty. That was
- 1:12:11Speaker 1: pretty cool. I thought that was pretty awesome. I think
- 1:12:13Speaker 1: he's just making sit up because he missed the pen
- 1:12:15Speaker 1: he's I don't think he's a lefty. I you know,
- 1:12:17Speaker 1: he's not a lefty. I think it's a multiverse episode.
- 1:12:19Speaker 1: I think this is a different multiverse. I think this
- 1:12:21Speaker 1: is I don't think this is the Scrubs universe that
- 1:12:24Speaker 1: we know it. I think it's a different universe. And
- 1:12:26Speaker 1: at the end and at the end when the butterfly
- 1:12:28Speaker 1: lands again, we're going to go to another Scrubs universe
- 1:12:31Speaker 1: where something happened. Anyway. Okay, so Turk doesn't stand up
- 1:12:35Speaker 1: for calling the second act, but he does in the
- 1:12:37Speaker 1: first act, and it all hinges on JD catching the elevator.
- 1:12:44Speaker 1: If he would have caught the elevator in the first act,
- 1:12:47Speaker 1: maybe none of this would have happened. The butterfly effect
- 1:12:50Speaker 1: happens down in the in the in the in the
- 1:12:54Speaker 1: in the reception area. But the real, the real pivotal
- 1:12:58Speaker 1: moment is him making it too the elevator. Why and
- 1:13:04Speaker 1: because that's where he learns about what what could? That's
- 1:13:07Speaker 1: where he gets the idea for the patient. And Mickhead
- 1:13:10Speaker 1: has another line. Mickhead has another line, and he does
- 1:13:13Speaker 1: it very well. Yeah you're right, you are funny, j D.
- 1:13:16Speaker 1: Yeah you're right, j D, you are funny. So anyway,
- 1:13:22Speaker 1: this is what this is where it kind of caught
- 1:13:23Speaker 1: me off guard. So in the first act, there's this
- 1:13:26Speaker 1: little girl who's looking for her stuffed animal. But then
- 1:13:32Speaker 1: this guy who ate street sushi is the person that dies.
- 1:13:38Speaker 1: In the second act, the little girl's still there and
- 1:13:42Speaker 1: the guy who eats street sushi is still there, and
- 1:13:45Speaker 1: right before the guy goes into surgery, they introduced the
- 1:13:50Speaker 1: little girl again, and so you think, all right, so
- 1:13:53Speaker 1: here it is, this is where the turn happens, here's
- 1:13:56Speaker 1: the here's the here's where you know, here's where Scrubs
- 1:14:02Speaker 1: kicks you in the ass. The guy's not gonna die.
- 1:14:05Speaker 1: The little girl's gonna die this time. Yeah. And then
- 1:14:08Speaker 1: we go into the r and the guy dies again,
- 1:14:11Speaker 1: and part of you is like, oh, thank god they
- 1:14:13Speaker 1: didn't kill the little girl. But the other part of
- 1:14:15Speaker 1: you was like, oh, it's the same conclusion no matter what,
- 1:14:19Speaker 1: you know. Sometimes it's just that person's time to go,
- 1:14:22Speaker 1: you know. But that was a great mislead because I
- 1:14:25Speaker 1: was I was already getting ready. I was working myself
- 1:14:28Speaker 1: up for Oh no, they're gonna lose the little girl.
- 1:14:31Speaker 1: The little girl's not gonna well. I think kudos to
- 1:14:33Speaker 1: the writers because that seemed the obvious thing to do,
- 1:14:36Speaker 1: and then they subverted expectations by going, you know, Scrubs
- 1:14:40Speaker 1: and Bill and the writers were good at that. They
- 1:14:42Speaker 1: would they would tee up what you thought your brain
- 1:14:46Speaker 1: would figure would be the ultimate conclusion, and then they
- 1:14:48Speaker 1: subvert it and go the other way right, and they
- 1:14:51Speaker 1: go the exact way that you thought, like, because in
- 1:14:53Speaker 1: the beginning of it, I was like, Okay, so everything's different,
- 1:14:56Speaker 1: but at the end it's gonna be the same. I
- 1:14:58Speaker 1: know it, I know it, I know And then they
- 1:15:00Speaker 1: throwed a little girl at you, and that was freaking it.
- 1:15:04Speaker 1: I was like, wait what, Oh no, no, no, no, no,
- 1:15:06Speaker 1: it's gonna be the girl. Don't you think when you're
- 1:15:08Speaker 1: watching a movie and every plot point you're like, right
- 1:15:11Speaker 1: before it happens, you're like, oh, they're gonna do X
- 1:15:13Speaker 1: y Z, And then it happens, you're like, oh, we
- 1:15:16Speaker 1: were watching this movie. That is the most ridiculous movie.
- 1:15:19Speaker 1: The Family Stone. I love the Family. I needed you.
- 1:15:25Speaker 1: Obviously we did too. You obviously are not alone, Joel,
- 1:15:29Speaker 1: because it was trending amongst Christmas movies on on iTunes.
- 1:15:33Speaker 1: But what a ridiculous movie that is. Have you seen it? Yeah,
- 1:15:40Speaker 1: of course I've seen it. These two brothers decide there
- 1:15:42Speaker 1: he's gonna switch partners. It's so stupid and like he
- 1:15:47Speaker 1: has the meat cute with Claire. Days she falls off
- 1:15:49Speaker 1: the bus and it's like oh, and it's like and
- 1:15:51Speaker 1: then the ring gets stuck on her finger. I mean,
- 1:15:54Speaker 1: oh my god, it's so ridiculous. It's so ridiculous. Cast
- 1:15:59Speaker 1: dynamite cast. I do have to say the cast was great,
- 1:16:02Speaker 1: and I do to say that Sarah Jessica Parker was
- 1:16:04Speaker 1: really funny, really did a funny job. All Right, I
- 1:16:06Speaker 1: see my dog digging up the garden. So we're gonna
- 1:16:09Speaker 1: wrap it up. I just wanted to end with saying
- 1:16:11Speaker 1: the Lost and Found box was labeled free stuff, which
- 1:16:14Speaker 1: I thought was very funny. I also think I also
- 1:16:17Speaker 1: think that this episode is one of those episodes that
- 1:16:21Speaker 1: stands alone as you could catch it at any time,
- 1:16:25Speaker 1: and this was one of my favorite episodes, and it's
- 1:16:27Speaker 1: because it's infinite at the end, it's sort of like,
- 1:16:31Speaker 1: what's the one the movie with Leo Inception? Yeah, you
- 1:16:35Speaker 1: know JD. It feels like JD's caught in a groundhog
- 1:16:39Speaker 1: Day loop. Yeah, it could keep going. It could keep
- 1:16:41Speaker 1: going and going and going and going and over over
- 1:16:44Speaker 1: and over again. And this is the only episode ever
- 1:16:46Speaker 1: in Scrub's history where you have that. Yeah. Well, I
- 1:16:50Speaker 1: think it's a really good one and it's very clever.
- 1:16:52Speaker 1: And I guess we should say Marry Christmas to everybody. Right, Well,
- 1:16:57Speaker 1: I love you guys, and be merry Christmas. And you
- 1:17:03Speaker 1: guys have great presents, and when they arrive and you
- 1:17:05Speaker 1: open them, I don't want you to have the thought
- 1:17:06Speaker 1: this is nice. It's from Zack and Donald. It's solely
- 1:17:09Speaker 1: from Zach. Make sure to credit you in the Instagram video.
- 1:17:14Speaker 1: And next year I would like and I'm boxing and
- 1:17:17Speaker 1: I want unboxing videos from both of you. And next year,
- 1:17:21Speaker 1: next year, win, I give you your gifts as it's
- 1:17:25Speaker 1: supposed to be. You know, you never give gifts on
- 1:17:29Speaker 1: the first year. On the right, AIG's still open, bro,
- 1:17:31Speaker 1: you can run to writing right now. No, I like
- 1:17:34Speaker 1: what I'm I like what I've discovered. I'm going with
- 1:17:36Speaker 1: what I'm what I listened with, right, you know? You
- 1:17:39Speaker 1: know right Aid has that gift dial. I'd like to
- 1:17:44Speaker 1: think of it as it's not really a Christmas gift
- 1:17:47Speaker 1: until the second Christmas. All right. I love you guys.
- 1:17:50Speaker 1: I love you guys. Christmas. Everybody out there, we love
