  takes center stage at the Supreme Court How far can the

  government go in regulating political content on social
• 0:41
  media? The justices will hear arguments
• 0:43
  today about whether two laws passed in Republican run states
• 0:47
  are constitutional, one from Florida, the other from Texas.
• 0:51
  The Florida law bans tech companies from suspending the
• 0:54
  accounts of political candidates.
• 0:55
  The Texas law makes it illegal for tech companies to remove
• 0:59
  political content based on someone's viewpoint, even if
• 1:02
  it's hate speech. Supporters of these laws say
• 1:04
  social media platforms have been censoring users, especially
• 1:08
  those with conservative or religious views.
• 1:10
  But tech companies argue they have a right under the First
• 1:13
  Amendment to set their own standards to prevent
• 1:16
  misinformation. It's about government, in this
• 1:19
  case Republican government forcing a private platform to
• 1:22
  say something it doesn't want to say still be like the government
• 1:26
  going into Chipotle and telling them that they have to serve
• 1:29
  hamburgers because people want hamburgers.
• 1:31
  Restaurants don't have an expressive right to exclude
• 1:34
  black people or Jewish people from their from their
• 1:36
  restaurants because they want to make a point.
• 1:39
  Similarly, the the platforms which are which again our, our,
• 1:43
  the Supreme Court has called our, our public square can't
• 1:46
  exclude people they don't like. To make some obscure and not
• 1:50
  quite clear expressive point. Both laws would allow tech
• 1:53
  companies to be sued for violations.
• 1:55
  The lawmakers in Florida and Texas say they're trying to
• 1:58
  regulate the business actions of tech companies, not their
• 2:01
  freedom of speech. Derek Dennis, ABC News.

  And this case could have far reaching implications, from what
• 2:09
  you see about the presidential election to even how spam is
• 2:12
  regulated. The justices are expected to
• 2:14
  issue that ruling by this summer.

  could. I'd sell alcohol to ladies and

  gentlemen of distinction. I'd tranquilize the rest with

  pills. If I were the devil, I'd soon

  have families at war with themselves, churches at war with
• 3:35
  themselves, and nations at war with themselves until each in
• 3:39
  its turn was consumed and with promises of higher ratings.

  I'd have mesmerizing media fanning the flames.

  If I were the Devil, I would encourage schools to refine
• 3:52
  young intellects, but neglect to discipline emotions.

  Just let those run wild until before you knew it.

  You'd have to have drug sniffing dogs and metal detectors at

  every schoolhouse door. Within a decade, I'd have

  prisons overflowing. I'd have judges promoting

  pornography soon. I could evict God from the

  courthouse, then from the schoolhouse, and then from the
• 4:14
  houses of Congress and in his own churches.

  I would substitute psychology for religion and deify science.

  I would lure priests and pastors into misusing boys and girls and

  church money. If I were the devil, I'd make

  the symbol of Easter and egg and the symbol of Christmas a

  bottle. If I were the devil, I'd take

  from those who have and give to those who wanted until I had

  killed the incentive of the ambitious.

  And what'll you bet? I couldn't get whole states to

  promote gambling as the way to get rich.

  I would caution against extremes and hard work and patriotism and

  moral conduct. I would convince the young that

  marriage is old fashioned, that swinging is more fun, that what

  you see on TV is the way to be. And thus I could undress you in

  public and I could lure you into bed with diseases for which

  there is no cure. In other words, if I were the

  devil, I'd just keep right on doing what he's doing.

  And that is how so many of HG Wells stories seems to connect

  so very well with actual events in history.

  I mean, you remember he wrote 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea and

  he was talking about a nuclear submarine there.

  Well, I mean, and it was literally a nuclear submarine.

  He was literally using language nuclear fission if I remember

  correctly in his story. And you know, he was talking

  about all sorts of things in his stories.

  And it was really interesting because in The Time Machine, the

  story of The Time Machine actually comes forward in time

  and he sees, he starts describing our time frame very

  close to what it is now, not exactly, but very close to what

  it is now. And he went into the future and

  he started describing the future.

  So there's a lot of people who believe HG Wells actually did

  build a time machine and he buried it somewhere.

  There's also a belief I forgot all about this, but supposedly

  Tesla came up with a time travel machine and according to theory

  or lore on this, Elon Musk or Donald Trump actually owns it

  and Baron actually used it. Have you ever heard that before?

  impossible to move forward in time, but you can move backwards

  time along the lifeline that you are to a younger you.

  So you'd have to inhabit the body of a younger yourself.

  on this? You can only travel back in time

  to a younger version of you. Well, usually the theory is, is

  that if you were to run into a doppelganger or version of

  yourself at a different age, it would cause all reality to

  You'd completely rewrite history.

  You'd also completely put yourself out of existence

  because what was the reason why you even use The Time Machine in

  the 1st place to go back and get Hitler?

  Now that you've killed Hitler, he's no longer a problem, so

  your future self becomes non existent.

  There's only one way. I think that some, because I see

  a lot of Christians out there saying I don't believe in time

  travel, it's too crazy. But if you actually believe in

  an entity that is outside of time, then you have to believe

  in some form of time travel. That something can actually

  exist outside of time, from beginning to end, and actually

  he suddenly couldn't see Adam and Eve after they ate the fruit

  They say they claim it and you can actually look it up and it's

  cell phones where he pulled out the antenna or something.

  hundreds of years ago, thousands, I think.

  You've heard that supposedly the biblical God is able to see

  beginning and end, see our death before it even happens.

  Prophecies about the future. The only way you'd be able to do

  something like that is if you actually experienced that event
