- 0:00Speaker 1: And then their second beast who's, like I said, a
- 0:03Speaker 1: combination of Shohei Otani, Aaron Judge, Babe Ruth all put together.
- 0:08Speaker 1: Greatest baseball player ever in October, Kike Hernandez. Two-run home run.
- 0:13Speaker 1: How does he keep doing this, Ross? I don't understand.
- 0:16Speaker 1: He's the biggest threat in the lineup at all times
- 0:18Speaker 1: when he's in the lineup. When it comes October, man,
- 0:21Speaker 1: he's the GOAT. Welcome back to Ross and Rizzo. I'm
- 0:25Speaker 1: Anthony Rizzo with my partner, David Ross. Game three of
- 0:28Speaker 1: the NLDS is in the books. Two exciting games in
- 0:32Speaker 1: the National League. Gauntlet, Rossi. Braves losing to the Dodgers 3-1.
- 0:39Speaker 1: And the Brewers losing to the Padres. The Padres extending
- 0:43Speaker 1: the series 4-3 in a nail-biter.
- 0:45Speaker 2: Rossi.
- 0:47Speaker 1: Big news this morning coming out, Mason Miller on the
- 0:50Speaker 1: paternity list. So he was not available today after throwing
- 0:54Speaker 1: 40 pitches two days ago. He probably wouldn't have been
- 0:58Speaker 1: available anyways, but then again, everyone's available in October. Yeah, everybody.
- 1:02Speaker 2: I mean, that's huge news. And, you know, they had
- 1:05Speaker 2: to go to the full bullpen, more homes down, something's
- 1:09Speaker 2: up with him, you know, two games in a row,
- 1:12Speaker 2: three days in between. something must be hurting him because
- 1:16Speaker 2: he definitely would have been in there today, especially late.
- 1:18Speaker 2: Michael King came in. Your boy manifesting him to Chicago
- 1:23Speaker 2: came in. What a stud. Shut that thing down. He
- 1:26Speaker 2: was absolutely nails on the back end of that. What
- 1:28Speaker 2: a great series we have with the Padres and the Brewers.
- 1:31Speaker 2: There is back and forth. I thought the Padres get
- 1:35Speaker 2: out to the two-run lead, and I'm like, oh, there's
- 1:37Speaker 2: that two-run lead. The Padre curse is going to get
- 1:40Speaker 2: them again, and the Milwaukee Brewers fight back. And it's
- 1:44Speaker 2: such a back-and-forth game. Really good baseball game. Good pitching,
- 1:47Speaker 2: timely hitting, some craziness, some base running, an error. Scores
- 1:53Speaker 2: that final run. Bogarts broken bat. Still makes the Cooper Pratt.
- 1:59Speaker 2: He's got to try to make the play, rush it,
- 2:01Speaker 2: and Bogie scores from second base on the throw and error.
- 2:05Speaker 2: Really intense ball game. Guy in scoring position with Yelly up.
- 2:08Speaker 2: Hits an absolute laser to shortstop to Bogarts who closes
- 2:12Speaker 2: it out. The unassisted double play. The 6U3 to end it.
- 2:18Speaker 2: And the pods stay alive. Stayin' alive. Stayin' alive. Ah, ah, ah, ah, ah.
- 2:25Speaker 1: Let's talk about Petco Park, bro. That place was, I mean,
- 2:29Speaker 1: they were willing that to happen, those fans. Credit to
- 2:32Speaker 1: those fans. I mean, the yellow, those, can we call
- 2:36Speaker 1: those the terrible towels there in Petco? Those yellow towels?
- 2:38Speaker 2: Yeah. You can call him whatever you want. There's no
- 2:41Speaker 2: copyright here. You're fine. You're fine.
- 2:44Speaker 1: But that place looked electric. I mean, David Ortiz taking
- 2:50Speaker 1: the shot. Well, they're trying to make that a story,
- 2:52Speaker 1: saying that the Padres were done. Statistically, it does say
- 2:56Speaker 1: that they're going to have a very hard time coming
- 2:58Speaker 1: back from a 2-0 deficit in a five-game series. And
- 3:01Speaker 1: Manny said, Manny Machado goes, bro, our back's against the wall.
- 3:04Speaker 1: We've been here before. Everyone counted us out all year, right?
- 3:07Speaker 1: They got off to a slow start. They were done.
- 3:10Speaker 1: All these guys are old. Sell the team. At the deadline,
- 3:14Speaker 1: they're like, wow, they went out and got guys, and
- 3:17Speaker 1: they counted them out, and those guys ended up having
- 3:21Speaker 1: their numbers on the back of their baseball card, and
- 3:23Speaker 1: they're in a hole again. He's like, this is nothing
- 3:25Speaker 1: new for us. We just got to win a game,
- 3:27Speaker 1: and they did. They won that game, and they have
- 3:30Speaker 1: a lot of momentum now going into game four. So that's– Yeah.
- 3:35Speaker 1: They didn't lay down. That's a tough game, bro. That
- 3:37Speaker 1: was a– Winning the first one's the hardest.
- 3:41Speaker 2: They did it early with, you know, three singles, two
- 3:44Speaker 2: stolen bases, and a bunt. They were putting pressure on them.
- 3:49Speaker 1: They were playing Brewer-style baseball and Ray-style baseball, and those
- 3:53Speaker 1: are the two best teams.
- 3:55Speaker 2: Those are winning formulas right now in the postseason, right?
- 3:58Speaker 2: And when your back's against the wall pushing the envelope,
- 4:01Speaker 2: I love what Craig Stainman, you know, go out there.
- 4:04Speaker 2: We're going to green light you. Like, let's steal some bases.
- 4:07Speaker 2: Let's put the pressure on them. We're going to play
- 4:09Speaker 2: some small ball, get the lead, and hopefully our pitching
- 4:12Speaker 2: can hold on. But really nice job with Petco Rock
- 4:16Speaker 2: and them getting out to an early lead. That place
- 4:17Speaker 2: looked loud. Our boy Rick Sutcliffe in the front row.
- 4:21Speaker 1: Yeah, I texted him. Telling him he looked sexy back there.
- 4:23Speaker 1: Nice tickets. Yep.
- 4:26Speaker 2: Always got his Rick Sutcliffe Nike hat on. He was
- 4:29Speaker 2: rocking it. Rossi, that was an impressive start. I was surprised.
- 4:34Speaker 1: If you just look at the stat line, right, Dustin
- 4:37Speaker 1: May only went three innings. You would think that the
- 4:39Speaker 1: Padres scored a ton of runs, right? They only scored
- 4:43Speaker 1: one run off them. So, the fact that the Brewers
- 4:47Speaker 1: were really, I mean, able to cover six innings, and
- 4:51Speaker 1: I know they gave up a couple runs. Jake Cronenworth,
- 4:55Speaker 1: really happy for him for that home run. I know
- 4:58Speaker 1: he dealt with concussion issues early in the year, and
- 5:02Speaker 1: both of us can speak from experience. Those concussion issues
- 5:05Speaker 1: are no joke, and Not easy to come back from
- 5:07Speaker 1: and for him to have that big moment and put
- 5:10Speaker 1: them up, which led to be the go-ahead home run,
- 5:14Speaker 1: was just exciting to see for him. But Pavetta, Pavetta
- 5:21Speaker 1: threw four in the third, gave up two runs. Then
- 5:25Speaker 1: the Padres bullpen with no Mason Miller, no Adrian Morhan, right?
- 5:30Speaker 1: That's a story now. What's going on with him? They
- 5:32Speaker 1: need him, right?
- 5:33Speaker 2: Yeah, they need him.
- 5:34Speaker 1: Especially if they're going to win tomorrow. and then get
- 5:36Speaker 1: a reset going back to Milwaukee. Yeah, man, I was
- 5:40Speaker 1: impressed with, you know, got to give William Contreras some love.
- 5:43Speaker 1: I think all the Contreras' just have to get booed
- 5:46Speaker 1: when they're on the road.
- 5:48Speaker 2: He took a long trot around the bases. But absolute
- 5:53Speaker 2: bomb getting them back in the mix, putting one on
- 5:55Speaker 2: the board early on.
- 5:56Speaker 1: But I thought both managers went to their– What's that?
- 6:00Speaker 1: Does Contreras' home run hit the roof– In Milwaukee, because
- 6:08Speaker 1: that thing was a moonshot.
- 6:09Speaker 2: It was a moonshot.
- 6:10Speaker 1: It was high.
- 6:11Speaker 2: Same exact, it looked like. Yeah, you're exactly right. And,
- 6:15Speaker 2: you know, I loved what Pat Murphy did, bringing in
- 6:18Speaker 2: JoJo Reyes quickly, not waiting around, Dustin Mays scuffing a
- 6:23Speaker 2: little bit, leadoff guy gets on, throws ball one to
- 6:26Speaker 2: the next hitter, and then immediately goes to him in
- 6:29Speaker 2: the middle of an at-bat, like not waiting around for anything.
- 6:31Speaker 2: And JoJo got out of the jam quickly. It ended
- 6:34Speaker 2: up first and second, and he was able to get
- 6:36Speaker 2: out of it. But these bullpens, man, that's been the story, right,
- 6:40Speaker 2: that the bullpen that holds down, you know, locks down
- 6:43Speaker 2: the lead and continues to give deep innings just feels
- 6:47Speaker 2: like it's hard to score runs off those guys. Just
- 6:49Speaker 2: electric stuff coming out of both bullpens with the Dodgers
- 6:52Speaker 2: and the Brewers. I mean, with the Padres and the Brewers,
- 6:54Speaker 2: excuse me.
- 6:55Speaker 1: No doubt. Well, Jason Adams on the mound, and he
- 6:58Speaker 1: gives up a shallow pop fly to left where you're thinking, okay–
- 7:02Speaker 1: He held them here that, man, they can get out
- 7:03Speaker 1: of this up 2-1 still. And Cooper Pratt shows off
- 7:07Speaker 1: his elite speed there and scores from literally a ball
- 7:11Speaker 1: the shortstop could have caught, which Padres got away with
- 7:14Speaker 1: when they're winning this game because usually when you make
- 7:17Speaker 1: a little mistake like that in these playoff games, it
- 7:19Speaker 1: does not go your way. So they got away with
- 7:22Speaker 1: one there. The momentum shifted now. They're in their home ballpark,
- 7:27Speaker 1: feeling really good going into game four. Hopefully they can
- 7:30Speaker 1: get Mason Miller back. Hopefully– His wife delivered and the
- 7:34Speaker 1: baby's safe. And healthy. And she's okay. But, dude, just
- 7:42Speaker 1: imagine being in that situation, Rossi. I mean, just being
- 7:45Speaker 1: a new father, there's no way I'm missing the birth
- 7:50Speaker 1: of my child. I don't care. It would have to
- 7:54Speaker 1: be Game 7 of the World Series to even consider it, honestly.
- 7:57Speaker 2: Hey, and being an old father, hey, they'll be fine.
- 8:00Speaker 2: Daddy's got to go to work. Daddy's got to pay
- 8:04Speaker 2: the bill. Daddy's trying to bring home a ring. Daddy's
- 8:06Speaker 2: trying to bring home a ring. We'll be fine.
- 8:08Speaker 1: They'll be out there sending me pictures. You know what?
- 8:10Speaker 1: That is a good point. That is a good point
- 8:14Speaker 1: because winning a World Series championship changes your life forever.
- 8:18Speaker 1: But so does having a baby, Ross. What the fuck
- 8:22Speaker 1: are we doing? It's a game. I'm just kidding.
- 8:25Speaker 2: I'm just kidding. I can't say that. Freaking Max Freed said,
- 8:28Speaker 2: you know what? The baby will have to wait. Daddy's
- 8:31Speaker 2: pitching tomorrow night for the Yanks. So some guys got
- 8:35Speaker 2: different priorities, Riz. Some guys have different priorities. Hey, I
- 8:38Speaker 2: want to give a shout out. The plays that Jackson
- 8:44Speaker 2: Merrill made to start this game were absolutely unbelievable. I
- 8:48Speaker 2: thought that set the tone for the Padres and got
- 8:51Speaker 2: that place rocking. Two diving plays in the outfield. that
- 8:54Speaker 2: were for sure doubles to start off the game and
- 8:57Speaker 2: then a little bit later.
- 8:58Speaker 1: Yeah, so Jackson Merrill, how about that in-game interview with
- 9:02Speaker 1: Pat Murphy, right? Oh, my gosh. They're talking, and then
- 9:05Speaker 1: you get a glimpse of that raw emotion of ball
- 9:09Speaker 1: in the gap and Pat Murphy going, get in the gap,
- 9:12Speaker 1: get in the gap. God damn it, Merrill, before the
- 9:14Speaker 1: pitch is hit. God damn it, Dorn.
- 9:18Speaker 2: God damn it, Dorn, get in front of the damn ball.
- 9:21Speaker 1: That was amazing.
- 9:22Speaker 2: That was, like, such raw emotion, just reaction there. Forgot
- 9:26Speaker 2: he was even in an interview on TV. Like, that
- 9:28Speaker 2: was classic. Classic move. Right?
- 9:30Speaker 1: Yeah. That was so good. So, I mean, Yelly, the captain,
- 9:35Speaker 1: gets his RBI single on the seventh, Rossi, makes it
- 9:38Speaker 1: four to three. How about the unsung hero of this game,
- 9:43Speaker 1: Xander Bogarts, bro?
- 9:45Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 9:45Speaker 1: I mean... That play that he made, the diving play
- 9:49Speaker 1: to keep the ball in front of him, to keep
- 9:52Speaker 1: the runner at third base and not scoring, was the
- 9:55Speaker 1: deciding factor in this game. And then the last play
- 9:58Speaker 1: of the game, the bullet at him. to end the
- 10:01Speaker 1: game and turn the unassisted double play. I mean, just
- 10:05Speaker 1: elite defense shining in the playoffs. You know what always
- 10:09Speaker 1: sticks out to me watching these games? How good the
- 10:13Speaker 1: defenders are in the big leagues. I mean, it is
- 10:15Speaker 1: just night and day. Everyone thinks it's all about hitting.
- 10:19Speaker 1: And that just makes hitting that much harder because these
- 10:21Speaker 1: guys are so good at their craft at every single position.
- 10:25Speaker 1: And the scouting reports are so good on where to
- 10:27Speaker 1: place guys.
- 10:29Speaker 2: Yep. And the base running from Xander scoring that fourth
- 10:31Speaker 2: run with that broken back coming at him, the ground
- 10:33Speaker 2: ball and keeping his head up and being able to
- 10:36Speaker 2: score on that ball that just trickles away from first base.
- 10:39Speaker 2: So we got to go in our hands back to
- 10:42Speaker 2: San Diego tomorrow night. Neither teams have announced their starters yet.
- 10:47Speaker 2: We'll be locked and loaded. We're going to get everybody
- 10:51Speaker 2: all hands on deck. I mean, everybody's throwing. These guys
- 10:53Speaker 2: have seen each other.
- 10:54Speaker 1: They're in rhythm.
- 10:55Speaker 2: And three tight ballgames between two really good teams, one
- 10:59Speaker 2: of the hottest teams in baseball and the best team
- 11:01Speaker 2: in baseball. We're getting our money's worth this series.
- 11:05Speaker 1: No doubt. And Michael King, man, coming in the eighth,
- 11:08Speaker 1: getting the last six outs. For those of you who
- 11:12Speaker 1: have been following this show know how much I love
- 11:14Speaker 1: Michael King. Funny story, I used to call him Preppy, Rossi.
- 11:18Speaker 1: I know you'll know who that is. Yeah. Who, Preppy? Preppy.
- 11:23Speaker 1: You know who that is?
- 11:24Speaker 2: Uh-uh.
- 11:25Speaker 1: He didn't know who it was either. For the longest time,
- 11:27Speaker 1: he thought I was ragging on him. Preppy is Zach
- 11:31Speaker 1: Morris from Saved by the Bell. Oh, Saved by the Bell, yeah, okay.
- 11:33Speaker 1: Because I feel like they look alike. He's better than
- 11:37Speaker 1: everyone else when he pitches. Zach Morris was the alpha male.
- 11:39Speaker 1: Good call. Good call. I like that call. He didn't
- 11:44Speaker 1: watch Saved by the Bell. He's a little younger than me.
- 11:47Speaker 1: And it seems like you didn't watch Saved by the
- 11:48Speaker 1: Bell because you're.
- 11:49Speaker 2: No, I watched a ton. I had a crush on
- 11:52Speaker 2: Kelly Sapowski. Who didn't? Who wins game four? Who wins
- 11:56Speaker 2: game four? Padres, Brewers.
- 12:00Speaker 1: Oh, man, dude.
- 12:03Speaker 2: We don't know the starters, but I took a lot
- 12:06Speaker 2: out of the Padres. I'm going with the Brewers. I
- 12:08Speaker 2: think the Brewers close it out in San Diego. Tomorrow night.
- 12:13Speaker 1: You know what? I think I'm going to go with
- 12:15Speaker 1: the Brewers too to just keep the narrative of counting
- 12:18Speaker 1: San Diego out and hopefully they can force a game
- 12:22Speaker 1: five just for baseball's sake. I like that. Go with
- 12:26Speaker 1: the reverse psychology there. I like that.
- 12:29Speaker 2: There's something about the warm summer air and a cold
- 12:31Speaker 2: corona with lime that makes the roar of the crowd
- 12:34Speaker 2: sound a lot like the roar of the waves.
- 12:36Speaker 1: That's because this is our playa and the best seats
- 12:39Speaker 1: are always wherever you're sitting.
- 12:40Speaker 2: Whether it's a weeknight game under the lights or a
- 12:42Speaker 2: Sunday afternoon in the sun, you know baseball isn't about
- 12:45Speaker 2: rushing around. It's about settling in, letting the game come
- 12:49Speaker 2: to you. And nothing pairs better than an ice-cold Corona.
- 12:53Speaker 1: Nothing. So find your seat, your Corona, and your line.
- 12:58Speaker 1: Because real fans know the only thing better than nine
- 13:01Speaker 1: innings is extra innings. Especially on La Playa.
- 13:05Speaker 2: Corona.
- 13:06Speaker 1: La Playa awaits.

- 13:20Speaker 1: What's up, guys?
- 13:21Speaker 2: I need to tell you about this new prediction market
- 13:23Speaker 2: called Polymarket. It's the best new way to trade in sports.
- 13:27Speaker 2: In the past, if you wanted action on the game,
- 13:29Speaker 2: you put some money in, and if your team was
- 13:31Speaker 2: doing well and you wanted to cash out, they'd lock
- 13:34Speaker 2: the trade and take a huge fee. But Polymarket is
- 13:37Speaker 2: a prediction market. It's a stock exchange for sports, buying
- 13:40Speaker 2: in and selling out on your terms. I've tried them all,
- 13:43Speaker 2: and Polymarket is simply the best prediction market. Better than DraftKings, FanDuel, Kalshi,
- 13:49Speaker 2: you name it. They're so confident you'll never go back
- 13:52Speaker 2: to the other guys. They're giving you a free $ 25
- 13:54Speaker 2: on your first trade when you deposit just $ 10. And
- 13:56Speaker 2: now they've launched a new feature, Squads, a group chat
- 14:00Speaker 2: where you can see what everyone is trading. So download
- 14:03Speaker 2: the Polymarket app today and use the code ROSSRIZZO when
- 14:06Speaker 2: you sign up. That's code ROSSRIZZO and get $ 25 free
- 14:11Speaker 2: after you deposit just $ 10.
- 14:13Speaker 1: The National League, gauntlet, gauntlet. All four of these teams
- 14:16Speaker 1: are highly capable of winning the World Series. Let's get
- 14:19Speaker 1: to the Dodgers and the Braves. Dodgers beating the Braves 3-1.
- 14:23Speaker 1: Dodgers only score their runs via the long ball. And
- 14:28Speaker 1: this is every president and general manager's wet dream. of
- 14:34Speaker 1: these guys just hitting the home run saying, well, if
- 14:37Speaker 1: we hit more home runs than everyone else, we'll win.
- 14:39Speaker 1: And the Dodgers are proving that.
- 14:41Speaker 2: That's the formula of the postseason, right? How about shout
- 14:44Speaker 2: out Freddie Freeman? Absolutely. Going back to Atlanta, first time
- 14:49Speaker 2: back there ever since being traded for a postseason game.
- 14:53Speaker 2: And he goes deep off Chris Sale on a ball
- 14:56Speaker 2: middle end.
- 14:57Speaker 1: That was.
- 14:58Speaker 2: Middle end. That was in off the plate, bro. Yeah,
- 15:01Speaker 2: that looked... What a short swing that was. That had
- 15:04Speaker 2: to feel really good for Fred Rick. He got booed.
- 15:07Speaker 1: He was getting booed. I love it.
- 15:09Speaker 2: I felt... No. I was like, what? Everybody gets booed now.
- 15:13Speaker 2: It's everybody gets booed. Nobody's safe.
- 15:15Speaker 1: It's a society we live in. Nobody's safe.
- 15:17Speaker 2: The Pope could go on the road to Cleveland and
- 15:19Speaker 2: get booed. With the White Sox right now. Everybody gets booed.
- 15:24Speaker 1: Not my Pope.
- 15:25Speaker 2: Okay.
- 15:27Speaker 1: How about... How about Freddie, his first at-bat off Chris
- 15:30Speaker 1: Hill to left field? Oppo, Mauricio Dubon playing left field,
- 15:34Speaker 1: the Swiss Army knife, can play everywhere, robbing him.
- 15:38Speaker 2: That's my unsung hero. Like that guy, I know they
- 15:41Speaker 2: didn't win, but my goodness, that guy plays everywhere. And
- 15:46Speaker 2: it's a quality at-bat every time. It's speed, it's great defense,
- 15:50Speaker 2: amazing play. to Rob Freddie of a two run home
- 15:53Speaker 2: run and start this thing off. That was, that was
- 15:56Speaker 2: a great play. Uh, the, the fans in Atlanta erupted. Yeah.
- 16:00Speaker 1: And Dodgers unleashing two of their absolute beasts that they
- 16:06Speaker 1: were just containing for the first two games. Uh, Yoshinobu
- 16:11Speaker 1: Yamamoto game three starter, seven innings pitch, four hits, one
- 16:15Speaker 1: earn 10 strikeouts. Rossi gets into that jam. Um, gets
- 16:21Speaker 1: out of it and goes seven. So he's eight and
- 16:23Speaker 1: one with a two ERA in his playoff career. Like
- 16:27Speaker 1: that's a sick resume already.
- 16:29Speaker 2: Bro. I watch him pitch. And every time he's got
- 16:32Speaker 2: like six pitches, I think like cutter, the splitty is
- 16:36Speaker 2: absolutely filthy. Like the, the cutter, the, the, the breaking ball.
- 16:41Speaker 2: I think he's got the big one and the slider,
- 16:43Speaker 2: like his stuff. I think he's the most complete pitcher
- 16:45Speaker 2: we have in our game. It's both sides of the
- 16:47Speaker 2: plate split to both sides. It's real electric stuff, mid
- 16:51Speaker 2: to upper 90s. He's got all the weapons you need.
- 16:56Speaker 2: I would love to catch that guy. Every time I
- 16:58Speaker 2: watch him, I'm like, God, you've got so many weapons.
- 17:00Speaker 2: You can go scouting report, whatever's working that day. He's
- 17:03Speaker 2: a complete pitcher, man. I was looking forward to this matchup,
- 17:07Speaker 2: and it did not disappoint.
- 17:08Speaker 1: Yeah, his first pitch, too, of the game, it's not
- 17:11Speaker 1: like he's just a power pitcher. His first pitch was
- 17:13Speaker 1: a curveball, right? And he got a swinging miss on it.
- 17:16Speaker 1: It was a curveball for a ball. I mean, that's
- 17:19Speaker 1: credit to him and that Dodgers staff with their scouting report.
- 17:24Speaker 1: And then their second beast who's, like I said, a
- 17:27Speaker 1: combination of Shohei Otani, Aaron Judge, Babe Ruth all put together.
- 17:32Speaker 1: Greatest baseball player ever in October, Kike Hernandez. Two-run home run.
- 17:37Speaker 1: Just how does he keep doing this, Ross? I don't
- 17:40Speaker 1: understand it. And he's the biggest threat in the lineup
- 17:45Speaker 1: at all times when he's in the lineup. Yeah.
- 17:47Speaker 2: He, you know, there's those guys on teams that you
- 17:51Speaker 2: wish you played with. He's one of those guys that
- 17:53Speaker 2: I'm like, I wish I would've played with Kiki Hernandez.
- 17:55Speaker 2: Like it always looks like he's having a good time.
- 17:58Speaker 2: The guy steps up in the biggest moments, all his
- 18:00Speaker 2: teammates can't wait for him to have success and high
- 18:02Speaker 2: five him and let, and everybody laughs and smiling every
- 18:05Speaker 2: time they're around him. Like he's one of those infectious
- 18:07Speaker 2: guys that show up in October and shocker to no one. He,
- 18:11Speaker 2: it's a big two run Homer to get the Dodgers
- 18:14Speaker 2: the lead early, man. Like, We were texting back and forth, like,
- 18:17Speaker 2: there he is. Babe Ruth has showed up.
- 18:20Speaker 1: I said it. I said it. They haven't even unleashed
- 18:22Speaker 1: him yet. They just have him caged. They're still thawing
- 18:25Speaker 1: him out, like his agent said, right? Didn't his agent
- 18:27Speaker 1: say that?
- 18:27Speaker 2: Yeah, his agent dropped the– they had him in the–
- 18:30Speaker 2: they took him out of the cryo, and he shows
- 18:33Speaker 2: up in September. That's right.
- 18:35Speaker 1: That's right.
- 18:35Speaker 2: Just keeping him on ice.
- 18:38Speaker 1: That was wild. 17th career playoff home run, tying Aaron Judge,
- 18:44Speaker 1: Jim Tomei, and David Ortiz. His next home run, Bryce Harper,
- 18:48Speaker 1: Carlos Correa, Reggie Jackson, Mickey Mano, Giancarlo Stan, right? These
- 18:53Speaker 1: are all on their way to being Hall of Fame players. Now,
- 18:57Speaker 1: Kike's been a very good player in our league for
- 19:01Speaker 1: some time, right? More of league average. But when it
- 19:05Speaker 1: comes October, man, he's the GOAT.
- 19:08Speaker 2: No, no, no.
- 19:09Speaker 1: There's no way to put it.
- 19:10Speaker 2: Well, and he's a part-time player, which is crazy. Like,
- 19:12Speaker 2: he hadn't even been in every postseason game. Like, The
- 19:15Speaker 2: guy just knows how to answer the bell in the moment.
- 19:17Speaker 2: What an impressive show he's already started in his postseason
- 19:22Speaker 2: debut there tonight. That was cool.
- 19:25Speaker 1: Yeah, and now the Dodgers, their team, as stacked as
- 19:29Speaker 1: they are, they have Tyler Glass now going tomorrow. So
- 19:33Speaker 1: I do think that the Braves can grind out Glass now.
- 19:36Speaker 1: I know his pitch count isn't fully up. They can
- 19:39Speaker 1: grind him out and hopefully get him out early and
- 19:41Speaker 1: get to, it seems like the only weakness in this
- 19:45Speaker 1: Dodgers team is their bullpen, right? And their bullpen is
- 19:49Speaker 1: still now. but it seems like they if they can
- 19:52Speaker 1: get into their bullpen early the Braves they can score
- 19:54Speaker 1: some runs and force a game five back.
- 19:57Speaker 2: In LA well I thought that was a really good
- 19:59Speaker 2: sign tonight Scott looked good and when Diaz came out
- 20:03Speaker 2: pretty clean leadoff double but then you know settled thing
- 20:06Speaker 2: or I think it may have been a single but
- 20:09Speaker 2: got some things cleaned up and, you know, didn't have
- 20:12Speaker 2: a whole lot of drama in his outing. So if
- 20:15Speaker 2: they get the good version of those two guys, they're
- 20:18Speaker 2: going to be just fine. This is another night in Atlanta,
- 20:23Speaker 2: some good pitching with Glass now. And Maylee, like you said,
- 20:27Speaker 2: it's going to be a lot of fun, man. It
- 20:29Speaker 2: feels like the Dodger hitters, the Dodger lineup, had a
- 20:32Speaker 2: little better timing. Tonight, they had some good at-bats off sale,
- 20:35Speaker 2: hit some balls really hard on the ground, some outs
- 20:38Speaker 2: in the outfield. They look like the bats are starting
- 20:40Speaker 2: to wake up a little bit for the Dodgers, and
- 20:42Speaker 2: that should be scary for everybody else in the National League.
- 20:45Speaker 1: No doubt. I mean, bro, they're only hitting home runs.
- 20:47Speaker 1: They haven't hit with runners in scoring position yet. You
- 20:50Speaker 1: know what I mean? So it's like they're almost grinding
- 20:53Speaker 1: through these games relying on the long ball, which that's
- 20:56Speaker 1: going to end up turning, and they're going to get
- 20:58Speaker 1: the timely hits. So this team is deep. Tomorrow, they
- 21:02Speaker 1: got Like you said, Malley and Glasnow on the mound. Glasnow,
- 21:07Speaker 1: 2-6 with a 4-4 ERA in the postseason. So we'll
- 21:12Speaker 1: see how he comes out firing. I think that this
- 21:16Speaker 1: game is going to be the game to watch. I mean,
- 21:19Speaker 1: both games, obviously, game to watch, right? But the Brewers-Padres
- 21:22Speaker 1: is just going to be chaos, right? You have to literally–
- 21:24Speaker 1: you cannot turn off and miss a pitch because who's
- 21:27Speaker 1: going to be pitching when they bring them in? The
- 21:28Speaker 1: managers are going to have to manage their asses off.
- 21:31Speaker 1: This game with their starting pitchers, They're set up. Hopefully, again,
- 21:36Speaker 1: hopefully both these series. The National League series I just
- 21:39Speaker 1: feel like deserve to go five games because I feel
- 21:43Speaker 1: like whoever wins out of the National League has the
- 21:46Speaker 1: best shot at winning the World Series. So I think
- 21:49Speaker 1: that the Braves extend it to game five. They go
- 21:52Speaker 1: back to L.A., cross country, ride a momentum, doesn't phase
- 21:55Speaker 1: the Dodgers. What do you got, Rossi? Give me your pick.
- 21:58Speaker 1: Who's going to win game four?
- 21:59Speaker 2: I've got my polymarket pick. Oh, predictions. A little prediction here.
- 22:05Speaker 2: Dodgers are 57% to the yes to close out the
- 22:08Speaker 2: series in game four. $ 100 wins you 170. Braves are 43%
- 22:13Speaker 2: to the yes to force a game five. And $ 100
- 22:18Speaker 2: trade gets you back 221. And you know I'm all
- 22:22Speaker 2: about making that money, but I feel too good about
- 22:25Speaker 2: the Dodgers right now. Their bats have woken up. Tyler
- 22:28Speaker 2: Glass now. is going to shed that 4-4 postseason ERA,
- 22:31Speaker 2: and I'm going with the Dodgers to close out the
- 22:35Speaker 2: series in Atlanta tomorrow night.
- 22:37Speaker 1: Going back to the National League Championship Series, you heard
- 22:40Speaker 1: it here first from Mr. David Ross. Now, Rossi, I
- 22:44Speaker 1: said yesterday on our show about getting the itch to
- 22:49Speaker 1: go to the White Sox game, right? Team's fun to watch.
- 22:53Speaker 1: I am boots on the ground now in Chicago for
- 22:56Speaker 1: this Sunday to run the Bank of America Chicago marathon again,
- 23:00Speaker 1: shout out to me. Okay. Uh, for running this thing.
- 23:04Speaker 1: I don't know what I was thinking, but we're running
- 23:06Speaker 1: on behalf of a lot of families raising money for
- 23:09Speaker 1: pediatric cancer for my foundation, the Anthony family foundation. Um,
- 23:14Speaker 1: dude being in Chicago in October feels amazing first off,
- 23:20Speaker 1: but walking around the city today and I'm getting so
- 23:24Speaker 1: many people just, Hey, you ready for Sunday? Hey, you
- 23:26Speaker 1: ready for Sunday? And I'm just like, fuck, I guess so.
- 23:29Speaker 2: Like, No pressure. Everybody's like, you're back in the World Series.
- 23:35Speaker 2: Everybody's like, can't wait to watch you go run in
- 23:39Speaker 2: this marathon. You better have a good time, bro. Is
- 23:42Speaker 2: there a prediction? What are you shooting for? What's your goal?
- 23:46Speaker 1: If I have to be honest, it's supposed to be
- 23:49Speaker 1: warm slash hot for a marathon. It's supposed to be
- 23:52Speaker 1: in the 70s. There could be a little bit of
- 23:55Speaker 1: a front coming that Hopefully it gets down and stays
- 23:59Speaker 1: in the sixties for us. I don't know, bro. Training
- 24:03Speaker 1: was so hard, but now I feel good. I'm hoping
- 24:06Speaker 1: the adrenaline takes me and there's no, you know, the
- 24:09Speaker 1: mental competitiveness comes in. I just keep going. I'm, I'm
- 24:14Speaker 1: hoping to break five hours. I think I can realistically
- 24:17Speaker 1: be break five hours. I think if I do what
- 24:20Speaker 1: I think I can do, it could be, you know,
- 24:22Speaker 1: mid fours, four hours and 40 minutes, 45 minutes. Uh,
- 24:27Speaker 1: All right. That's a lot of weight, bro.
- 24:28Speaker 2: I might come run beside you.
- 24:30Speaker 1: I'll run beside you and be like, like you did Frederick.
- 24:33Speaker 2: Frederick!
- 24:33Speaker 1: And we'll be like, Tony! Tony!
- 24:36Speaker 2: That'll pick up your pace and make you smile for
- 24:38Speaker 2: a minute.
- 24:39Speaker 1: I have a playlist that I've made that's like, you know,
- 24:43Speaker 1: dance music, like EDM. It's Rufus DeSoul, Inner Bloom. You know,
- 24:47Speaker 1: I can listen to that song at any time. It
- 24:49Speaker 1: gets me through anything. It's the greatest song of all time.
- 24:51Speaker 1: And I told Emily today, because Emily's going to be
- 24:54Speaker 1: running at my snail's pace, um, and we're trying to
- 24:57Speaker 1: run it together to be great. Um, and I go, Emily,
- 25:02Speaker 1: at some point in this race, you're going to have
- 25:04Speaker 1: to look at me. Cause you know, I'll be grinding.
- 25:06Speaker 1: Cause we ran a few runs together and she's always positive.
- 25:09Speaker 1: She's just running like a gazelle. And I'm over here just,
- 25:15Speaker 1: and I go, just tell me to play the playlist.
- 25:17Speaker 1: When you know, it's time for me to play that playlist.
- 25:20Speaker 1: Just tell me to play it.
- 25:23Speaker 2: It'll be like your Rocky theme in the locker room.
- 25:27Speaker 2: You start doing all that stuff. That'll be sick. Arietta,
- 25:31Speaker 2: shout out Jake. He's coming to run with you.
- 25:33Speaker 1: Jake's running on behalf of our foundation. Dude, they've been
- 25:38Speaker 1: so good to us. Everyone, part of the marathon has
- 25:43Speaker 1: treated our team so kindly and it's amazing the things
- 25:47Speaker 1: they do to raise money. Dude, they raise millions and
- 25:50Speaker 1: millions of dollars on behalf of charity. So, It's going
- 25:53Speaker 1: to be a great day. So that's awesome.
- 25:55Speaker 2: Everybody, everybody, all your fans on here, all your fans, Chicago,
- 25:59Speaker 2: everybody's pulling for you to break that five hour mark,
- 26:03Speaker 2: myself included. So let's get to our Tim bus ball
- 26:07Speaker 2: bags of the night where you guys email us at
- 26:11Speaker 2: Ross and Rizzo at gmail.com. Send us your, send us
- 26:17Speaker 2: your questions, comments, all that stuff. We'd like to, it's
- 26:20Speaker 2: our favorite part of the show. So, We'll get to those.
- 26:23Speaker 2: We got a YouTube comment to start us off from BadgerFanatic1.
- 26:28Speaker 2: How do players communicate with non-English speaking players? Catchers to pitchers,
- 26:32Speaker 2: infielders to infielders. I'll let you start off with that one.
- 26:37Speaker 1: All right. So most of it, you know the baseball lingo.
- 26:42Speaker 1: So it's fairly easy because you know words, right? As
- 26:46Speaker 1: if a guy really doesn't know English. But most of
- 26:48Speaker 1: the Latin speaking players, Spanish speaking players, make a pretty
- 26:52Speaker 1: good effort to learn and be able to communicate. The
- 26:56Speaker 1: Japanese players, it's a little harder at first, but they
- 27:00Speaker 1: come over and it seems like they just try to
- 27:02Speaker 1: learn as fast as possible. Same with the Korean, all
- 27:04Speaker 1: the Asian players. There's nothing more, though, that frustrated me
- 27:10Speaker 1: is when someone speaks slow Spanish. Hey, you come here over, no,
- 27:16Speaker 1: do that there. Like, bro, what are you, just talk normal. Like,
- 27:21Speaker 1: You don't need to try to talk. And then they
- 27:23Speaker 1: do it in like a Spanish accent. I'm like, what?
- 27:27Speaker 2: You sound like, stop. Well, we, I think we learn
- 27:30Speaker 2: just as much as they do. Like, you know, we
- 27:32Speaker 2: learn all the like cambio for change up from pitchers.
- 27:36Speaker 2: Like you learn, you learn really fast. If a guy's
- 27:38Speaker 2: really bad at English and that most of them are
- 27:41Speaker 2: phenomenal and winter ball always helps. I played a little
- 27:44Speaker 2: bit of winter ball. It always helps you out a
- 27:46Speaker 2: little bit. You get over there in their culture and
- 27:48Speaker 2: you learn fast how to, how to, order at the
- 27:51Speaker 2: fast food place and get things that you need. So
- 27:54Speaker 2: it's pretty important that we learn some of that too.
- 27:56Speaker 2: So it's those guys work really hard. Organizations do a
- 28:00Speaker 2: really good job of teaching these guys in the minor leagues,
- 28:03Speaker 2: helping them communicate, walking them through stuff. So by the
- 28:06Speaker 2: time they get to the big leagues, it's they've got
- 28:09Speaker 2: it kind of figured out. And I think there's nothing better,
- 28:12Speaker 2: nothing better than, than having a funny Latin guy on
- 28:15Speaker 2: your team. Cause their, their sense of humor is classic.
- 28:18Speaker 1: That's important. You have to have, Your international players have
- 28:22Speaker 1: to be part of your team. It's very easy for
- 28:24Speaker 1: international players to come over, whether it's the Spanish-speaking guys
- 28:29Speaker 1: or the Asian-speaking guys, come over and just kind of
- 28:33Speaker 1: go into their own little hole and their own little culture, cult.
- 28:38Speaker 1: On every good team I've had and been on, we've
- 28:40Speaker 1: all integrated so beautifully and got to learn so much
- 28:43Speaker 1: about their culture. So it's really important to teams.
- 28:47Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 28:48Speaker 1: I love that.
- 28:49Speaker 2: Pedro's stroke comes to mind.
- 28:51Speaker 1: Oh, yeah.
- 28:51Speaker 2: One of the best.
- 28:52Speaker 1: Trophy. Yeah, one of the best. Email from Adam Mays.
- 28:57Speaker 1: And also, Rossi, too. I'm loving all these comments. I
- 28:59Speaker 1: usually never really scavenge scavenger. Is that the right word?
- 29:03Speaker 1: The comment sections. But I'm loving the interactions that we're
- 29:06Speaker 1: getting on our roster.
- 29:08Speaker 2: On the socials. Yeah, me too. Me too.
- 29:10Speaker 1: That's great. Next question from Adam Mays in email. How
- 29:14Speaker 1: do you think the Mets feel about those former players
- 29:17Speaker 1: killing it elsewhere? Peralta is dealing for Tampa, not to
- 29:20Speaker 1: mention Tampa. The PCA deal and Alonzo. What were they
- 29:26Speaker 1: not doing with them that other teams found a way
- 29:28Speaker 1: to unlock? So Peralta comes over from the Brewers trade,
- 29:35Speaker 1: big trade, thinking that the Mets were going to be good, right?
- 29:39Speaker 1: It just didn't work out. It was always in the
- 29:41Speaker 1: tank for Peralta. It was just a matter of time.
- 29:44Speaker 1: And then you go to Tampa. If you're a struggling pitcher,
- 29:46Speaker 1: you want to go to Tampa. It feels like they're
- 29:47Speaker 1: just the magicians there. And they have him throwing his
- 29:50Speaker 1: change up a lot more and everything else is ticked up.
- 29:53Speaker 1: So he's back to the Freddy Peralta, the ace that
- 29:56Speaker 1: he was for the majority of his career.
- 29:58Speaker 2: And then They moved him on the rubber a little bit,
- 30:00Speaker 2: and then you get a little bit of confidence, right?
- 30:03Speaker 2: Get that confidence going, and then it's lights out, especially
- 30:05Speaker 2: the guys that have dominated like he has most of
- 30:08Speaker 2: his career, has one little blip on the radar, goes
- 30:11Speaker 2: to make some changes, has some success. That always helps.
- 30:14Speaker 1: Yeah, so as a Mets fan, okay, fine. We weren't
- 30:16Speaker 1: going to win. Hopefully we got someone back from him.
- 30:20Speaker 1: PCA and Pete Alonzo now are two separate things. But
- 30:25Speaker 1: the PCA at the time, yes, he was a good prospect.
- 30:28Speaker 1: a top prospect, but you're going to win that year, right?
- 30:31Speaker 1: And that year, what was that, 21? They made the
- 30:36Speaker 1: playoffs and they made a little bit of a run,
- 30:38Speaker 1: if I remember correctly, with going out and getting Javi,
- 30:41Speaker 1: the talent that Javi is. So that one, you know,
- 30:45Speaker 1: you can't bank on these prospects turning into superstars. Yes,
- 30:48Speaker 1: it does happen, but when you make trades like that,
- 30:51Speaker 1: I respect the teams that are willing to make those
- 30:53Speaker 1: trades to go and try to win that year.
- 30:56Speaker 2: Yeah, and I think the other two, they've got two
- 30:58Speaker 2: Rookie of the Year candidates this year that were in
- 31:01Speaker 2: line with PCA to say, okay, we're going to deal
- 31:05Speaker 2: from a little bit of our strength, and that was
- 31:08Speaker 2: the outfielders they had. PCA had a broken, I think
- 31:10Speaker 2: they had a broken wrist or something at the time,
- 31:13Speaker 2: and so they dealt an injured player. Obviously, it worked
- 31:17Speaker 2: out well, much better for the Cubs and the Mets. And,
- 31:21Speaker 2: you know, Adam, I'm with you on the, you look at,
- 31:25Speaker 2: the Peralta stuff, I would want to look internally, like
- 31:28Speaker 2: what are we not doing right? What can we not
- 31:30Speaker 2: figure out that other teams can? And I know Andy Green,
- 31:35Speaker 2: being at the helm now, is looking at every detail
- 31:38Speaker 2: under the hood and figuring those things out, getting the
- 31:41Speaker 2: best guys around him, the best coaches, looking at things
- 31:45Speaker 2: a little more in depth, probably in the R &
- 31:47Speaker 2: D department, and getting those things figured out. Alonzo is
- 31:50Speaker 2: a little bit different. That's just a free agency where
- 31:52Speaker 2: they didn't want to bring a guy back that was
- 31:54Speaker 2: aging on a long-term deal. That's kind of different than
- 31:56Speaker 2: the other two. So great question though, Adam. That's some
- 32:00Speaker 2: in-depth stuff. And every Mets fan I know is one
- 32:04Speaker 2: of the most passionate fans you're ever going to meet.
- 32:07Speaker 2: So good question.
- 32:09Speaker 1: Yeah, great question.
- 32:10Speaker 2: One more email from Kingston. Love that name. Kingston Jones.
- 32:14Speaker 2: Shout out Bob Marley. This question comes from a listener
- 32:17Speaker 2: from Tampa where the Rays and the AL East are
- 32:21Speaker 2: quite far from all their opponents in the division. My
- 32:24Speaker 2: question is specifically for the playoffs with the time change
- 32:27Speaker 2: and possibly jet lag, if that can affect the quality
- 32:29Speaker 2: of the play. NFL teams have a very specific schedule
- 32:33Speaker 2: in order to prepare against that, but it feels like
- 32:35Speaker 2: with MLB's schedule, it's harder to allow off days for
- 32:38Speaker 2: those reasons. How is the travel schedule different in the
- 32:42Speaker 2: playoffs versus the regular season? It's a lot different.
- 32:46Speaker 1: That's good. That's a great question. Really, I don't think
- 32:49Speaker 1: any fans really ever ask. The playoff is a whole...
- 32:54Speaker 1: different beasts and everything. And the playoffs, all the families
- 32:57Speaker 1: travel with the teams. Now, I believe, well, I only
- 33:01Speaker 1: can speak for the Cubs and the Yankees, that we
- 33:05Speaker 1: had two separate planes. The guys were on their one
- 33:08Speaker 1: plane and stayed business as usual, your normal routine. And
- 33:12Speaker 1: then your families would also travel as well. So during
- 33:15Speaker 1: the year, you don't always have your full families traveling
- 33:18Speaker 1: with you. So the hotel becomes a little bit more
- 33:20Speaker 1: of a circus. Everything just becomes a little bit more
- 33:23Speaker 1: of a circus on the travel day. Um, but for me,
- 33:27Speaker 1: these series with the off days messes up the rhythm
- 33:31Speaker 1: that we're used to as baseball players. We're used to
- 33:33Speaker 1: the time changes. We're used to the jet lag. We're
- 33:36Speaker 1: used to getting in at the three or four in
- 33:38Speaker 1: the morning and having to grind out the next day.
- 33:40Speaker 1: And I, I've always wished like on a five game
- 33:43Speaker 1: series like this, you go straight through because these five
- 33:47Speaker 1: game series are such a crapshoot with the way the
- 33:49Speaker 1: off days are. And then on a seven-game series, I
- 33:52Speaker 1: wish there was just one off day to reset, not
- 33:55Speaker 1: the two or three that you get. But, for example,
- 33:58Speaker 1: when we were out west in the World Series with
- 34:03Speaker 1: the Yankees, we flew out on the off day, right,
- 34:07Speaker 1: instead of flying out the night of. That was our
- 34:10Speaker 1: routine as players. We always get on the plane and
- 34:12Speaker 1: fly out the night of. And it's always a debate
- 34:14Speaker 1: every year. Do we stay, get a good night rest
- 34:17Speaker 1: at the hotel, or fly out? We've done this multiple times.
- 34:19Speaker 1: It wasn't just with the Yankees. And I'm always team.
- 34:24Speaker 1: Let's get on that plane. Like we always do fly back.
- 34:27Speaker 1: It doesn't matter what time we get in. We get
- 34:29Speaker 1: to our own beds. We sleep in our own bed.
- 34:31Speaker 1: It doesn't matter if it's four or five in the morning,
- 34:33Speaker 1: we can still wake up at home. And two reasons
- 34:38Speaker 1: waking up in your own bed. And I liked after
- 34:41Speaker 1: the game, getting on that plane, win or lose, you
- 34:44Speaker 1: get to be with the boys and talk the game.
- 34:47Speaker 1: and be normal. If you want to enjoy the plane ride,
- 34:50Speaker 1: it's a lot easier to enjoy a plane ride, win, lose, draw, whatever,
- 34:54Speaker 1: after a game than it is on an off day
- 34:56Speaker 1: when you have a game the next day. So that's
- 34:58Speaker 1: my take on it.
- 34:59Speaker 2: And you turn the page a little bit faster when
- 35:01Speaker 2: you get on that plane, right? You get back to,
- 35:03Speaker 2: even if you lost, you know, you're not sulking on
- 35:06Speaker 2: the plane. You're back to business as usual and talking
- 35:08Speaker 2: the game like you said and knowing that you gotta,
- 35:11Speaker 2: you gotta get ready for, you know, you may have
- 35:13Speaker 2: an off day when you're traveling, but the following day
- 35:15Speaker 2: and already kind of game planning on that stuff and
- 35:17Speaker 2: having those conversations really good, really good stuff there. I
- 35:20Speaker 2: think the one that I, I liked was when we
- 35:24Speaker 2: were on the West coast, flying back to the East
- 35:26Speaker 2: coast and you got a night game, go ahead and
- 35:28Speaker 2: stay in the night. Sometimes they're just, I know that
- 35:31Speaker 2: takes away your full day with the travel, but, um,
- 35:34Speaker 2: sleeping in a, in a nice bed, going back afterwards
- 35:38Speaker 2: for me, um, was, was always a little bit better
- 35:41Speaker 2: just from a, we don't get in it. You know,
- 35:43Speaker 2: when I was with Boston, we'd be on the West coast.
- 35:45Speaker 2: You get in at like literally like 10 in the morning,
- 35:48Speaker 2: sometimes playing.
- 35:49Speaker 1: I loved it.
- 35:50Speaker 2: Yeah. You, you're, you're, you're still up with, uh, when
- 35:54Speaker 2: you're going to bed, the sun's, the sun's up and
- 35:57Speaker 2: everybody's started their day and you're, you're about to hit
- 35:59Speaker 2: the hay, but, um, it's a little bit different. They
- 36:02Speaker 2: do a lot of, they'll, they'll bring in sleep specialist and,
- 36:06Speaker 2: and have them kind of comment on it and see
- 36:08Speaker 2: what's best. But, At the end of the day, usually
- 36:10Speaker 2: they leave it, or at least the Cubs did. I
- 36:12Speaker 2: remember the back end. They'd leave it to a vote
- 36:14Speaker 2: for the players and what they thought was best.
- 36:16Speaker 1: Yeah. I mean, look, I say I love it. Ryan
- 36:19Speaker 1: Dempster pulled me aside when I was younger. He goes, hey, man,
- 36:21Speaker 1: if you're going to hoot with the Owls, you better
- 36:23Speaker 1: soar with the Eagles. All right? That's right. The real
- 36:25Speaker 1: warriors that could show up and play every single day. But, like,
- 36:29Speaker 1: the Red Sox this year, they had those playing issues.
- 36:32Speaker 1: And for me, it's a guaranteed win when you have
- 36:36Speaker 1: issues like that. Guaranteed win.
- 36:38Speaker 2: Yeah. The boys know they got to bring it.
- 36:40Speaker 1: They show up at 10, 11 o'clock. They showed up to,
- 36:42Speaker 1: I think, Citi Field one day at 3 or 4 o'clock.
- 36:45Speaker 1: That's how late they got in, and they end up
- 36:46Speaker 1: rolling and winning those games.
- 36:48Speaker 2: Yeah, we call that a cold jock. You don't even
- 36:50Speaker 2: get to warm up. There's no BP, nothing, just cold jock.
- 36:53Speaker 2: Put your jock strap on and get your butt out
- 36:55Speaker 2: there and compete.
- 36:58Speaker 1: That's a good question, Kingston. Thank you, and thank you, everyone,
- 37:01Speaker 1: for listening in with us, following us. We love talking this.
- 37:04Speaker 1: Tomorrow we got four games, Rossi. The American League Division
- 37:09Speaker 1: back game three for them. I'll be at the White
- 37:16Speaker 1: Sox game. Let's go.
- 37:18Speaker 2: You're going.
- 37:19Speaker 1: I will be there.
- 37:20Speaker 2: Hey, could you wear your White Sox Rizzo jersey? Listen, listen, listen, listen.
- 37:27Speaker 1: I know it's cool. Don't get me wrong. I want
- 37:32Speaker 1: to wear some Cubs gear, but I can't be that guy, right?
- 37:36Speaker 1: I hate the people who go to a different game
- 37:38Speaker 1: and wear another jersey.
- 37:40Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 37:41Speaker 1: Look, I'm already in my all black. It's a blackout.
- 37:44Speaker 2: You're locked in.
- 37:45Speaker 1: Yeah, right. I might wear white for the post.
- 37:48Speaker 2: I need some live content. We're content creators now. I
- 37:51Speaker 2: need some live content from this game.
- 37:53Speaker 1: I'm going behind enemy lines. I said this in our
- 37:58Speaker 1: group chat here, all my Chicago boys. Going behind enemy lines,
- 38:01Speaker 1: but I'm going for the doctor I call him, my
- 38:04Speaker 1: boy Morgan. And I die on the front lines for him.
- 38:07Speaker 1: So I'm happy for him. Be fun. Fun moment.
- 38:12Speaker 2: Can't wait to talk about it.
- 38:13Speaker 1: See what the cell is all about tomorrow. Let's go.
- 38:16Speaker 1: Let's go.
- 38:17Speaker 2: Thank you guys.
- 38:18Speaker 1: So Ross out.
