- 0:08Speaker 1: numbers during the water.
- 0:09Speaker 2: Balloon fight that got out of hand. But I have
- 0:13Speaker 2: one question for you, one question that I want to
- 0:16Speaker 2: start this entire podcast off with. That crossed my lips
- 0:22Speaker 2: to him. You know, I think you need to prepare
- 0:24Speaker 2: for this one. Does Zach Wilson have that dog in him?
- 0:31Speaker 3: I think that's a resounding yes, right like everyone in America,
- 0:34Speaker 3: that's a resounding yes.
- 0:36Speaker 1: Do you not think he has that dog in him?
- 0:38Speaker 1: I saw quarterback? No, No, no, I think he does.
- 0:41Speaker 1: But I think we all know what we're talking about here.
- 0:44Speaker 1: You I saw your Instagram. Seems like you guys had
- 0:47Speaker 1: a great time out wherever you guys were throwing, slinging
- 0:49Speaker 1: the rock. It was a good tom. Obviously, rumors are swirling,
- 0:54Speaker 1: rumors swirl. Does Zach Wilson have that dog in him?
- 0:58Speaker 3: I mean, if if that's what the rumor says, you know,
- 1:00Speaker 3: like we just let you just let social media take over.
- 1:03Speaker 1: Oh, we wap in each other up the next day.
- 1:06Speaker 1: Now the stuff it comes out the next day it happens.
- 1:07Speaker 2: Are we no, Yeah, he gave me a call.
- 1:09Speaker 3: He was like, Yo, how should I like approach, Like
- 1:11Speaker 3: what do I say on social media?
- 1:12Speaker 2: I was like, dude, we're about to go to Idaho.
- 1:13Speaker 3: Don't say anything, just go media may the right move, Like,
- 1:17Speaker 3: just don't say anything, like just let that ride and
- 1:20Speaker 3: whatever happens happens, and then you react to it afterwards
- 1:22Speaker 3: because you don't know what people are going to say
- 1:24Speaker 3: off of whatever you're gonna say.
- 1:25Speaker 2: So yeah, smart, smart by him, very smart by him
- 1:29Speaker 2: and the Internet.
- 1:30Speaker 1: I mean he's elevated, like he's like he's in the
- 1:32Speaker 1: conversation with Tom Brady.
- 1:34Speaker 2: Right now, like m V puts for him right now.
- 1:35Speaker 2: We're great. It's kind of I mean, that's my quarterback,
- 1:39Speaker 2: you know what I'm saying?
- 1:39Speaker 1: Like, so we we we We also have a mil
- 1:44Speaker 1: hunter around the bus in the back.
- 1:47Speaker 2: Take a guess at which who you think it would be?
- 1:50Speaker 2: Probably not JP, I mean j What do you mean
- 1:55Speaker 2: by that? Maybe that Joseph Paul?
- 1:59Speaker 3: Maybe you know he's got he's got a little class
- 2:02Speaker 3: to him. Dang, what are we doing back there?
- 2:03Speaker 2: Man? What we No? There's one rumor gets started.
- 2:07Speaker 4: I shout out Mother's Day and then all of a sudden,
- 2:11Speaker 4: I'm moms.
- 2:12Speaker 2: Why shout out all moms? And I said, especially the
- 2:14Speaker 2: single moms.
- 2:15Speaker 4: And next thing, you know, I'm out here poaching women.
- 2:22Speaker 2: But I'm respectful.
- 2:25Speaker 1: You know. It's he talks about going on he talks
- 2:28Speaker 1: about going on the lake, and we're like and all
- 2:30Speaker 1: the single moms will be out there, and he's like, hey,
- 2:32Speaker 1: so now like this personality.
- 2:33Speaker 4: Is remembers like one mentioned in my tweets per tweet
- 2:37Speaker 4: that's like, you know, watch out single mom something, so
- 2:41Speaker 4: you should you know, we can we can tone it down.
- 2:43Speaker 1: Tone it down. I just elevated that one. Well, I
- 2:48Speaker 1: appreciate you for coming on bus with the boys. I
- 2:50Speaker 1: think we have what we need. No, but that was
- 2:56Speaker 1: is that a boy? Is he like one of the boys.
- 2:58Speaker 1: Would he come on the bus?
- 3:00Speaker 2: Yeah, he'd come on the bus for sure.
- 3:03Speaker 3: I think he's The more I get to talk to him,
- 3:06Speaker 3: the more I like he opens up a little bit,
- 3:07Speaker 3: like you would probably have to have a couple of
- 3:09Speaker 3: conversations with him, just like yeah, so I just to
- 3:11Speaker 3: like loosen them up. But he's only yeah, I mean
- 3:14Speaker 3: he's a quarterback. Like when you're like a first round
- 3:16Speaker 3: quarterback and stuff. It's kind of like you're the Utah
- 3:19Speaker 3: right from Utah.
- 3:20Speaker 2: I went to BYU like they do it, you know,
- 3:22Speaker 2: the worms do it a little bit differently.
- 3:23Speaker 3: Right, it's a little, it's just a little. It's a
- 3:26Speaker 3: it's a cultural shop.
- 3:27Speaker 1: But you actually you were saying right before we came
- 3:29Speaker 1: on the bus, you bought a place out in New
- 3:31Speaker 1: York and you'll be, yeah, building that relationship with the boy.
- 3:34Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 3:34Speaker 3: No, I mean I live like two doors down from him,
- 3:39Speaker 3: and I bought a spot that's two doors down, so
- 3:41Speaker 3: we're gonna be right next to each other and we'll
- 3:43Speaker 3: suld be kicking it. He's got he's got his basement
- 3:45Speaker 3: is the it's the film room. So he'll have the
- 3:48Speaker 3: boys come over like watch film whatever, and then we're
- 3:51Speaker 3: gonna jump two doors down. I got a bar in
- 3:53Speaker 3: the in the bottom of my the bottom of my house,
- 3:55Speaker 3: so we'll hang out there for a little bit. We'll
- 3:57Speaker 3: drink responsibly, you know, you know, we'll have a good time.
- 4:02Speaker 2: So that is awesome. Uh.
- 4:04Speaker 1: By the way, congratulations, three year, twenty four million dollar
- 4:07Speaker 1: deal with the Jets.
- 4:08Speaker 2: Round of applause for the boys. DJ, that's a that's
- 4:12Speaker 2: a come up because you're a fifth round guy.
- 4:13Speaker 1: Like you're, like we were talking about before you like
- 4:15Speaker 1: fifth rounds the best round, like all undrafted, and we
- 4:17Speaker 1: went back and forth. But if once you hit the
- 4:19Speaker 1: fifth round and beyond, like you're pretty much scrashing to
- 4:22Speaker 1: be on the roster, Like, dude, take us through there.
- 4:24Speaker 1: Like signing a deal like that has got to like
- 4:27Speaker 1: feel really fucking good knowing how you came into the Yeah, I.
- 4:30Speaker 3: Mean, yeah, the crazy thing is like junior year, I
- 4:34Speaker 3: had a decent year in college. Senior year, I really
- 4:36Speaker 3: didn't play too much, which is like the offense whatever,
- 4:40Speaker 3: and so I was like, damn, I don't even know
- 4:42Speaker 3: if I'm gonna get drafted, to be honest, like I
- 4:44Speaker 3: thought it was gonna be a eighth round guy. And
- 4:46Speaker 3: then I fortunately got drafted, and yeah, it's been it's
- 4:50Speaker 3: been a grind.
- 4:50Speaker 2: Like the first I mean, the first couple of years
- 4:52Speaker 2: were like.
- 4:54Speaker 3: Anytime a tight end gets hurt, it's like it doesn't matter, like,
- 4:56Speaker 3: all right, you go in, you're with the first team,
- 4:58Speaker 3: you're also doing scout team, you're also doing every special team.
- 5:00Speaker 3: You're also doing every scout team on scout team, on
- 5:02Speaker 3: special teams and I'm just.
- 5:03Speaker 2: Like you were running the scout on special teams and everything. Yeah,
- 5:07Speaker 2: I was. I was done.
- 5:08Speaker 3: I was like I lost like thirteen pounds every day
- 5:10Speaker 3: and I would just be like, this is fine, I'll
- 5:12Speaker 3: be fine, Like this is this is what it takes, right,
- 5:14Speaker 3: We're exactly So yeah, something like this, I mean, it's
- 5:19Speaker 3: I never thought it would happen, right, Like, you know,
- 5:21Speaker 3: my parents are very like interes sading, you know, like
- 5:24Speaker 3: you have a better chance of getting shut by landing
- 5:26Speaker 3: twice and making its NFL and like, you know, the average.
- 5:28Speaker 2: Is like your parents are telling you this or outside people.
- 5:32Speaker 3: My parents, my daughter was like, hey, make sure you're
- 5:35Speaker 3: under grades, just letting you know. This is like it's tough.
- 5:37Speaker 3: So like we believe in you, like you know, they
- 5:40Speaker 3: give me the Yeah. So yeah, you know, it's like
- 5:44Speaker 3: the average is what three and a half four years maybe,
- 5:46Speaker 3: Like yeah, we're smacking that right now, go us, Like
- 5:49Speaker 3: come on, I think it's two.
- 5:53Speaker 2: So yeah, no, it's it. You know.
- 5:55Speaker 3: Something like this was like got to spend it with
- 5:57Speaker 3: my parents too, which was nice, and I hung out
- 6:00Speaker 3: with them talking about it.
- 6:01Speaker 2: So that's sick. Do you appreciate them keeping it real
- 6:05Speaker 2: with you when you're young kind of going through and
- 6:07Speaker 2: they're saying, like talk about the odds and everything else. Yeah,
- 6:10Speaker 2: I would have been a piece of shit probably like
- 6:12Speaker 2: I got.
- 6:12Speaker 3: I would have been not like not like I mean,
- 6:14Speaker 3: my parents raised me right, you know, but I think
- 6:18Speaker 3: you know, throughout high school, like you start hearing some
- 6:20Speaker 3: hype and you're like, oh wow, like I'm getting like
- 6:22Speaker 3: colleges are coming to talk to me.
- 6:24Speaker 2: Like I'm an only child.
- 6:25Speaker 3: I talk a lot, like I would just like act
- 6:27Speaker 3: up a little bit in class, like oh my Karen,
- 6:29Speaker 3: really well a little bit. Yeah, just I mean, our
- 6:32Speaker 3: high school is really good. And my parents were like,
- 6:37Speaker 3: you were a beast. You played quarterback, wide receiver. You
- 6:39Speaker 3: also said punter.
- 6:40Speaker 1: Yeah, you went eleven and one as a junior, passing
- 6:43Speaker 1: for seventeen hundred while also rushing for eight hundred yards
- 6:46Speaker 1: like you so, yeah, you were a stud.
- 6:48Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 6:48Speaker 3: I mean our I won't say out of aside, I'll
- 6:50Speaker 3: say the high school. Our high school was really good,
- 6:53Speaker 3: and they still are really good. I keep I keep
- 6:55Speaker 3: in touch with some of the guys. They are like
- 6:56Speaker 3: some of the coaches. But man, it was just like
- 7:01Speaker 3: that football was like the essence of the school.
- 7:04Speaker 2: Like Taylor Heineke.
- 7:05Speaker 3: We played Taylor Heinike school and hey, Taylor, we we
- 7:09Speaker 3: beat that ass too.
- 7:09Speaker 2: What's up? It was a good game. It was a
- 7:13Speaker 2: good game, but like that game was hype because we
- 7:14Speaker 2: were both under there a beast in high school. Freak.
- 7:18Speaker 2: Here's a freak. I mean, do for what do you
- 7:20Speaker 2: throw for over seven hundred yards in a college game? Oh? No,
- 7:22Speaker 2: I know.
- 7:23Speaker 3: I kept up with him in college because I was like, dude,
- 7:24Speaker 3: this guy's this guy's unbelievable. People just sleep on them. Yeah,
- 7:28Speaker 3: and our county is really good. We have a lot
- 7:30Speaker 3: of good whatever talent coming out. So again, like football
- 7:33Speaker 3: in our county was like Taylor could probably do whatever
- 7:35Speaker 3: he wanted to do in his high.
- 7:36Speaker 2: School, like it's like oh yeah cool.
- 7:37Speaker 3: Like school great, but like also like if you are
- 7:41Speaker 3: like hey, like dang, I missed some homework assignments, like
- 7:44Speaker 3: like if this test score is an A because I
- 7:46Speaker 3: was decently smart, Like if this test was an A,
- 7:48Speaker 3: like can A be for the rest of the homework?
- 7:50Speaker 2: Oh yeah, sure, we got You're like, oh cool, O great?
- 7:53Speaker 2: They hook it up like that. In high school, it
- 7:54Speaker 2: was one teacher. I'm not gonna because you're saying this
- 7:57Speaker 2: like Friday night lights at your at your high school.
- 7:59Speaker 2: It wasn't that extent, but it was.
- 8:01Speaker 4: It was.
- 8:01Speaker 2: It was like you could there about ball. Yeah it was.
- 8:04Speaker 3: Yeah, it was very football oriented at the school for
- 8:08Speaker 3: sure in the county. And then you go to Auburn.
- 8:11Speaker 2: YEP.
- 8:12Speaker 1: You played with you play with the fellow friend of
- 8:14Speaker 1: the show, Darren Bay. You play with him, right, I
- 8:17Speaker 1: played stories on DV.
- 8:19Speaker 2: I got great stories with him. He's I mean, you
- 8:22Speaker 2: know this guy's he's.
- 8:24Speaker 1: Crazy, a lunatic bro speaker, always blurting Kevin Gates in
- 8:28Speaker 1: the locker room.
- 8:29Speaker 2: But mad ship to everybody. Oh yeah, he always he
- 8:32Speaker 2: always controlled the oxyar.
- 8:33Speaker 3: I remember like like we played at South Carolina and
- 8:37Speaker 3: this man is just like he's going crazy in locker.
- 8:39Speaker 3: I won't forget that. I was like, damn, this is sick.
- 8:40Speaker 3: It was my freshman year too. I'm like, I'm inside
- 8:43Speaker 3: of my mind. But the best story was we played Intinacy.
- 8:48Speaker 3: I don't remember what year. It was, like second or
- 8:50Speaker 3: third year with the Bengals. I see him across maybe
- 8:53Speaker 3: like fourth year, but I see him across and he's
- 8:56Speaker 3: just talking ship the entire time, like, yes on your ass.
- 8:58Speaker 3: I'm like, oh dope, Like you're blocking me. Cool, I
- 9:00Speaker 3: know it. Now, this is great. I'm gonna kick off.
- 9:02Speaker 3: I come to give you a move whatever. I'm staring
- 9:04Speaker 3: at him in the entire time. Tiding comes out of
- 9:06Speaker 3: nowhere and just smacks that and he's just in my
- 9:12Speaker 3: ear the entire time. Damn you gonna let us do
- 9:14Speaker 3: that to you. Let we'll be back next play. And
- 9:16Speaker 3: I'm like, oh god, here we go. Like this guy,
- 9:19Speaker 3: he's a lunatic.
- 9:20Speaker 1: He's a minute on special teams. That's funny that he
- 9:22Speaker 1: hit you died in then all of a sudden you
- 9:23Speaker 1: get blind sat on a double tea.
- 9:25Speaker 2: My coach is not happy either. Did you love your
- 9:27Speaker 2: time at Auburn? I did? It was It was a
- 9:30Speaker 2: good time.
- 9:31Speaker 3: I got my best friends from there, like I was
- 9:33Speaker 3: friends with only for the most part, like only walk Ons,
- 9:36Speaker 3: Like those are my best friends. So we had like
- 9:38Speaker 3: walk on parties. We call him Wops just like nobody
- 9:41Speaker 3: knew what that we were talking about. Hey, like in
- 9:43Speaker 3: front of coach, like, hey we got that Wop later on,
- 9:45Speaker 3: Coach like what the is that? It's a dance like,
- 9:47Speaker 3: that's all I know, and we get after. I was
- 9:50Speaker 3: the token scholarship player. That's what they called me, token
- 9:53Speaker 3: scholarship player a lot at the walk On parties, So
- 9:55Speaker 3: I loved So you're like the gaykeeper. You're like the
- 9:57Speaker 3: bridge between walk On and Scully.
- 10:00Speaker 2: That was that was man. That's a good that's a
- 10:01Speaker 2: good label to have.
- 10:03Speaker 3: I mean, dude, walk On dudes, they got treated like,
- 10:05Speaker 3: I mean, we're in the National Championship. They're in the cage,
- 10:08Speaker 3: like they're not even the locker room. They're like a
- 10:09Speaker 3: little separate cage like outside of the locker room. And
- 10:12Speaker 3: I'm like this, did you almost go somewhere else? I
- 10:18Speaker 3: kind of wanted to go to Florida because my godbrother
- 10:20Speaker 3: goes there. But other than that, I mean, I I'd
- 10:23Speaker 3: visited LSU when Less was there, and I was like,
- 10:26Speaker 3: this is this is awesome, But I kind of knew
- 10:29Speaker 3: it was Auburn pretty early.
- 10:30Speaker 1: Did you get drafted in the fifth round to the Bengals. Yeah,
- 10:33Speaker 1: you were kind of going through the ship. Like obviously
- 10:35Speaker 1: you guys made it to the super Bowl, which we'll
- 10:37Speaker 1: get into, but you were weathering the shitty years of Cincinnati.
- 10:41Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean my first year wasn't though. My first
- 10:44Speaker 3: year we were nice, like we had everybody, Like we
- 10:47Speaker 3: had AJ was and we had Marvin Jones, we had
- 10:51Speaker 3: most knew we had Andrew Whitworth. We had I mean,
- 10:54Speaker 3: we had the boys, and we won the division and
- 10:57Speaker 3: that was.
- 10:57Speaker 2: A while ago.
- 10:58Speaker 1: Andrew's on the Yeah was on the Bengals. Yeah that
- 11:01Speaker 1: you guys were you guys were.
- 11:02Speaker 3: Nice then, yeah, and we won the division and he
- 11:04Speaker 3: gets hurt. Aj MaTx comes in, he's leading us down
- 11:07Speaker 3: like we're about to win the game. Then some stuff
- 11:10Speaker 3: happens and like what happened? Remind us like, you know,
- 11:14Speaker 3: the our defense kind of got into it a little
- 11:16Speaker 3: bit with the Steelers and like game, that's.
- 11:19Speaker 2: How long ago that was.
- 11:21Speaker 3: It's like we were nice to come about with with
- 11:23Speaker 3: T and Z and a B Yeah, a B and the.
- 11:27Speaker 1: And then like locker room yeah, Joey Porter, yeah, yeah,
- 11:32Speaker 1: like it was.
- 11:33Speaker 2: It was a lot.
- 11:33Speaker 3: And that's my again, that's my Rookieyeah, I'm thinking ship sweet.
- 11:36Speaker 3: I'm like, damn, we're nice, Like this is great, We're
- 11:38Speaker 3: doing great. I come into the locker room after we
- 11:40Speaker 3: lose that playoff camp, I'm pissed. I'm like dang, this
- 11:42Speaker 3: sucks whatever, and then I'm like, dang, this is I
- 11:45Speaker 3: mean it was it was tough.
- 11:46Speaker 2: So what is that locker room? Like? Oh, I mean
- 11:49Speaker 2: people just yelling at each other like everyone.
- 11:51Speaker 1: Man tz not that I know them personally, but like
- 11:54Speaker 1: you obviously hear stories.
- 11:55Speaker 2: Right. Well, yeah, I'm gonna be honest.
- 11:59Speaker 3: The craziest thing is like Tess likes me a lot,
- 12:01Speaker 3: which is awesome. Like he I do some like car
- 12:03Speaker 3: karaoke stuff, which is like it's just I do it
- 12:06Speaker 3: for fun. And he would come in and be like, hey, bro,
- 12:08Speaker 3: me and my girl watched that car karaoke.
- 12:10Speaker 2: That's just funny. And I'm just like, hang on karaoke, yeah,
- 12:14Speaker 2: like you got a YouTube channel?
- 12:15Speaker 3: No, I just I just hop in the car and
- 12:17Speaker 3: I just like play some like Taylor Swift. I get
- 12:19Speaker 3: some props out there, like Miley Cyrus, like I got
- 12:22Speaker 3: I went, I was in California. I'm doing I'm doing
- 12:24Speaker 3: some crazy dude. I just yeah, have some fun with it.
- 12:27Speaker 3: But he's the last person that I expected to be like, hey,
- 12:29Speaker 3: well that's funny, like me and my girl watch yeah
- 12:32Speaker 3: do that? Like when's the next one? Like I don't know,
- 12:35Speaker 3: I was gonna stop doing it like whatever. He's like, no,
- 12:38Speaker 3: you gotta keep that going. I'm like, all right, cool,
- 12:39Speaker 3: like is test is the boy? But locker room was crazy.
- 12:43Speaker 3: I mean yeah, like you said, you got all those
- 12:45Speaker 3: different personalities like clashing people pointing fingers and like just
- 12:48Speaker 3: yelling at each other because emotions are high.
- 12:50Speaker 2: We just lost the game, right.
- 12:51Speaker 3: We thought we were gonna win with the backup and
- 12:55Speaker 3: it was it was it.
- 12:56Speaker 2: Was help and it was hell playing with with Tesz.
- 12:59Speaker 2: I mean, what an animal? Yeah? Did he ever? Did
- 13:04Speaker 2: he ever look you over the middle of once?
- 13:06Speaker 3: Yep? Wasn't supposed to be. I mean it was supposed
- 13:08Speaker 3: to be like just fit like, you know, just fit up.
- 13:10Speaker 3: And I'm running a shallow and I sit and I
- 13:13Speaker 3: turned right into him and he just just lowers his
- 13:16Speaker 3: head and I'm like, oh god, are you here off
- 13:19Speaker 3: the ground.
- 13:20Speaker 2: Oh my god, I'm trying to stay off the ground.
- 13:22Speaker 2: I just got smacked.
- 13:23Speaker 1: They would talk about how like, uh like how smart
- 13:27Speaker 1: he was, like instinctive he was, yeah, not show up
- 13:30Speaker 1: to practice, but he'd be like he would know everything
- 13:33Speaker 1: when he would show up, Like sometimes they say they
- 13:35Speaker 1: come in, he'd be in the hot tub, and he'd
- 13:37Speaker 1: be like, now I'm not practicing. The day, they'd be
- 13:38Speaker 1: trying to get him to come out to practice while
- 13:41Speaker 1: practice and warm up at starting and he's like in
- 13:43Speaker 1: the hot tub because like, no, I'm not practicing today.
- 13:45Speaker 1: But then he come out the next day, say it's
- 13:47Speaker 1: like a fast Friday, and he would know everything, and
- 13:49Speaker 1: he'd be on the field like pointing shit out.
- 13:51Speaker 3: Oh yeah, no, Like even when he was hurt, like
- 13:52Speaker 3: when he was injured or like off the field or something.
- 13:55Speaker 3: He'd be like the trainers would be on him. He'd
- 13:57Speaker 3: be kind of talking to them, looking at the field
- 13:59Speaker 3: and be like it's a fucking cross route, just yelling
- 14:01Speaker 3: it before the play and it's a cross and he
- 14:03Speaker 3: gets pissed. And then he's like doesn't matter if he's
- 14:05Speaker 3: hear or not. He's putting someone on. He's going back
- 14:07Speaker 3: in and I'm.
- 14:07Speaker 2: Like, what are you? Are you serious? Like how do
- 14:11Speaker 2: you know that? Like, and he's just he's smart.
- 14:13Speaker 3: He's one of the smartest football players that I've been around,
- 14:15Speaker 3: Like defensively for sure, but maybe in general, Like he
- 14:19Speaker 3: knew concepts really well.
- 14:20Speaker 2: It was crazy. When did when did Marvin get fired?
- 14:23Speaker 5: Uh?
- 14:24Speaker 3: My fourth year so going into my contract year, so
- 14:28Speaker 3: this last year, so no, no, no.
- 14:30Speaker 2: No, because you had you've had Zach Taylor for a
- 14:32Speaker 2: couple of years ago, three years. Oh, and the Bengals
- 14:35Speaker 2: extended you. Yeah.
- 14:36Speaker 3: So after the after those four years, Margaret's fired, Bengals
- 14:39Speaker 3: extend me and I was there for three years.
- 14:41Speaker 1: Okay, all right, and then that's when you guys kind
- 14:43Speaker 1: of have, you know, battle on through some stuff. I
- 14:47Speaker 1: will say the one uh pre draft visit I went
- 14:50Speaker 1: on with Cincinnati. What a hell hole it was at
- 14:53Speaker 1: the time. Maybe it's maybe it still is. I don't
- 14:56Speaker 1: know what more they did to but at the time
- 14:58Speaker 1: that I went, there's a fucking like the cafeteria was
- 15:01Speaker 1: in the basketball gym and they would just set up tables.
- 15:04Speaker 2: Yeah, they they they renovated that.
- 15:06Speaker 3: They switched it up for sure, because now it's I
- 15:08Speaker 3: don't know if you remember or not, like now you
- 15:10Speaker 3: walk in, you take it right, and the cafeteria is there.
- 15:12Speaker 1: Well, it was just just like a it was just
- 15:15Speaker 1: like a room with a couple of chairs in it. Yeah,
- 15:17Speaker 1: it's still okay, at the time, oh that was still
- 15:19Speaker 1: the case from Yeah, but you talked to everybody around
- 15:22Speaker 1: the league everybody's like, oh, Cincinnati has got the worst.
- 15:25Speaker 3: Yeah, are you like that's the that's there's a couple
- 15:27Speaker 3: of teams for sure that I hear, But yeah, it's
- 15:30Speaker 3: it's up there.
- 15:30Speaker 2: So you were grinding there for what six seven years?
- 15:35Speaker 2: You wish you would have stayed?
- 15:37Speaker 3: Nah, I mean it was like was a situation going
- 15:40Speaker 3: into this last year.
- 15:41Speaker 1: Obviously you have you have a good year, but are
- 15:43Speaker 1: you wanting to stay in Cincinnati?
- 15:45Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 15:45Speaker 3: I mean I think I think you're in a place
- 15:47Speaker 3: for seven years. Right, You're like, dang, like this is
- 15:49Speaker 3: you know, you make it your home. And you're like,
- 15:52Speaker 3: and I talking to people that like one of my
- 15:54Speaker 3: boys is like in the corporate world even right, and
- 15:57Speaker 3: he's like, yeah, you know, I've bet this company for
- 15:59Speaker 3: four years, and I'm like, dang, do I really want
- 16:00Speaker 3: to take this other job? Like that's gonna be tough,
- 16:03Speaker 3: like me and the family. I'm trying to start, like
- 16:05Speaker 3: start a family with my wife all this stuff. And so, yeah,
- 16:08Speaker 3: you're comfortable in a city that like embraces you, especially
- 16:11Speaker 3: after like like you said, being through the ship and
- 16:12Speaker 3: then going to the super Bowl, You're like, oh, dang,
- 16:14Speaker 3: like you know, I got you know, I I've made,
- 16:17Speaker 3: I've planned some roots here, like I kind of want
- 16:19Speaker 3: to stay. And then you know, you you see certain
- 16:22Speaker 3: things and you're like, dang, all right, cool, Like man,
- 16:26Speaker 3: I kind of see that you're wanting to maybe go
- 16:28Speaker 3: a different direction.
- 16:29Speaker 2: What are what are the certain things? It's just you know,
- 16:32Speaker 2: like like trying to rotate other guys in there. No,
- 16:35Speaker 2: it's not that. It's it's more like just contractually stuff.
- 16:39Speaker 2: You know.
- 16:39Speaker 3: It's kind of like throw me a bone maybe, and
- 16:41Speaker 3: you don't get that, and you're like, all right, well,
- 16:43Speaker 3: you know, I know another team that has some young
- 16:45Speaker 3: talent that is gonna, you know, throw me your bone
- 16:48Speaker 3: and and I'm gonna stick with them.
- 16:50Speaker 1: So is it one of those situations where they're trying
- 16:52Speaker 1: to start negotiating like way ahead of time and then
- 16:56Speaker 1: like every player gets like disrespected in their first offer.
- 16:59Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 16:59Speaker 1: Well, I mean and you're either you either understand what's
- 17:02Speaker 1: happening or like there's some guys who just get so
- 17:05Speaker 1: pissed off that like, you know, they're trying to disrespect
- 17:07Speaker 1: me type of things.
- 17:08Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 17:08Speaker 3: No, I mean I knew a couple of yeah, so
- 17:11Speaker 3: like I knew how they were gonna do it. I
- 17:12Speaker 3: knew how it was the first time, and and I
- 17:14Speaker 3: knew that's kind of the the way that you know
- 17:17Speaker 3: that contract works. And it's not just since it's most teams.
- 17:20Speaker 3: Most teams are ye, I'm trying to blow ball, that's business. Yeah.
- 17:25Speaker 3: But it was the ending stages we were like, okay, cool,
- 17:27Speaker 3: like nice. We got a couple back and forth, like
- 17:29Speaker 3: let's see if we can like actually plant something down,
- 17:32Speaker 3: and it was just like not happening. And I was like,
- 17:35Speaker 3: all right, well, I mean that's that's fine. Like it
- 17:38Speaker 3: sucks right like seven years like dang, But at the
- 17:40Speaker 3: same time, it's like, all right, nice, Like I'll go
- 17:42Speaker 3: somewhere and make something to shake with with a young
- 17:45Speaker 3: team with some dogs in them.
- 17:47Speaker 2: Oh, there you go with the dog in them.
- 17:51Speaker 1: Do you feel like you do a pretty good job
- 17:52Speaker 1: of like keeping your emotions separate from like the whole
- 17:55Speaker 1: business thing, Like, let's see, it seems by by the
- 17:57Speaker 1: way you're talking, like you wanted to work out, but
- 18:00Speaker 1: if it doesn't, like you're all right with trying something new.
- 18:02Speaker 2: Clearly that's the option you did.
- 18:03Speaker 1: But some guys they want to stay with their team badly,
- 18:06Speaker 1: and we'll do you know, whatever to make it work,
- 18:08Speaker 1: and usually the player ends up like you know, not
- 18:11Speaker 1: CosIng in the business world of like taking a lower
- 18:14Speaker 1: deal to stay with the team or stay in the city.
- 18:16Speaker 3: Yeah I think, uh, I mean, I mean I would
- 18:20Speaker 3: have for sued, but it was it was, it was
- 18:22Speaker 3: pretty bad, but dude.
- 18:23Speaker 2: It is what it is.
- 18:24Speaker 1: Like George was on the pod a couple of weeks
- 18:26Speaker 1: ago and then we were talking about the Deebo Samuel
- 18:29Speaker 1: situation and he goes, look, man, he's going to have
- 18:31Speaker 1: a locker, Like he's gonna have a locker here in
- 18:33Speaker 1: San France, Like we hope he stays with the team.
- 18:35Speaker 1: But he's like, you only get this small window for
- 18:38Speaker 1: each individual or each athlete to capitalize on like what
- 18:41Speaker 1: they've worked their entire life for. He's like, who am
- 18:43Speaker 1: I to like say, hey, don't go get your money,
- 18:45Speaker 1: like you only have this much time.
- 18:47Speaker 2: To acquire it, Like you have to do what is
- 18:49Speaker 2: best for you.
- 18:50Speaker 1: Some guys, some guys, you know, their priorities are said differently,
- 18:54Speaker 1: but it's not like every every player goes through that
- 18:57Speaker 1: like a situation to where so, hey, you got to
- 18:59Speaker 1: do like it is best for you. Because when the
- 19:01Speaker 1: logo's gone and the shield is gone. No one cares
- 19:04Speaker 1: what's happening. You know, no one's gonna care what happens
- 19:07Speaker 1: to you or what happens with you. Say hey, good
- 19:09Speaker 1: luck in the next the next chapter.
- 19:11Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean, and the guys know that.
- 19:13Speaker 3: I mean, I still I still talk to some of
- 19:15Speaker 3: the guys in the locker room for sure.
- 19:17Speaker 2: You know, the punter was probably my best friend.
- 19:20Speaker 3: Kevin was probably my best friend for the past couple
- 19:22Speaker 3: of years, you know, on the team.
- 19:24Speaker 2: So we still talk.
- 19:25Speaker 3: But yeah, I mean everyone knows, like you know, they
- 19:28Speaker 3: they're gonna they're gonna have some problems just retaining Joey
- 19:31Speaker 3: b back there. So I was like, yeah, I mean,
- 19:33Speaker 3: there's no understand like if.
- 19:34Speaker 1: It's a lot, if it's like a longer deal, because
- 19:36Speaker 1: Joey Be's got what two more years or two more
- 19:39Speaker 1: will they'll.
- 19:39Speaker 2: Have to probably renegotiat.
- 19:40Speaker 1: But he just finished his second year, right, Yeah, yeah,
- 19:42Speaker 1: so no doubt, like they gotta It's like that time
- 19:45Speaker 1: frame that everybody talks about, like in the media, like
- 19:47Speaker 1: you have your quarterback on a rookie deal at the moment,
- 19:50Speaker 1: you better build all around him to try and obviously
- 19:52Speaker 1: win the Super Bowl exactly. But no, I feel you, man,
- 19:55Speaker 1: it does seem like you do a good job separating
- 19:57Speaker 1: separating the two though, well.
- 19:58Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean I I will definitely like hats off
- 20:02Speaker 3: to my my agent for that because he was like, hey,
- 20:05Speaker 3: like your job, like I know that you have emotion
- 20:07Speaker 3: into this, but like, like my job is to make
- 20:10Speaker 3: sure that like I'm looking out for you and your
- 20:11Speaker 3: best interest. Like if you're wanting to like take this,
- 20:14Speaker 3: just no, it's it's not good. Like it's not something
- 20:17Speaker 3: that I would recommend you taking. Like just talk to
- 20:20Speaker 3: your parents about it. Let me talk to your parents
- 20:21Speaker 3: about it, Like, let me just like try to inform
- 20:23Speaker 3: you of everything that's going on. And I'm like, dude,
- 20:25Speaker 3: thank you, like because you know it it is it's
- 20:28Speaker 3: a it's an emotional game in general, and then you
- 20:31Speaker 3: like tie your root somewhere. But he was like, hey,
- 20:33Speaker 3: you got to take that out of it. And that
- 20:35Speaker 3: definitely helped for sure.
- 20:36Speaker 2: And now we're who always in the who always in
- 20:38Speaker 2: the game for you. Those Jets came up, man, they
- 20:44Speaker 2: had a good draft. Yeah we did. You guys gonna
- 20:46Speaker 2: want to you know, a ballgame er two.
- 20:47Speaker 3: This year now ill probably win Way more than a
- 20:50Speaker 3: ball gamer. You know what I'm saying. We've got the
- 20:52Speaker 3: MVP front run right now.
- 20:54Speaker 1: There's no question bro Zach Wilson, the dog that everybody
- 20:58Speaker 1: this facade that is getting created is is pretty funny. Yeah,
- 21:03Speaker 1: but yeah, how do you feel about going through OTAs
- 21:05Speaker 1: and everything with the Jets? Like getting acclimated to New York,
- 21:08Speaker 1: Like being out there in the city, like you go
- 21:09Speaker 1: from Cincy that type of situation. I've heard the Jets
- 21:13Speaker 1: have an incredible fucking facility where you probably go over
- 21:16Speaker 1: there and you're like, yo, how do all teams don't
- 21:19Speaker 1: have it like this? I haven't been there, but like
- 21:21Speaker 1: one of my boys who was at Nebraska would take
- 21:23Speaker 1: videos of like there there were you would the nutrition table,
- 21:26Speaker 1: like making shakes, like the recovery all of this stuff.
- 21:30Speaker 2: Like do you like getting acclimated to New York? Oh?
- 21:32Speaker 2: I mean it's New York as a whole.
- 21:34Speaker 3: I mean it's I mean the city is amazing, right, Like,
- 21:37Speaker 3: I'm I'm happy that our facility is kind of a
- 21:39Speaker 3: little bit further away too. Is it's like forty forty
- 21:41Speaker 3: five minutes shit an hour fifteen with try I don't know,
- 21:43Speaker 3: it just depends on the traffic. But yeah, so I
- 21:47Speaker 3: like the city obviously, but then just the facility is
- 21:50Speaker 3: in it's insane. I'm like, hey, like masking guys like hey,
- 21:53Speaker 3: where do you get massages or like xyz whatever? Now'm
- 21:56Speaker 3: just like, oh yeah, in the training room, Like what
- 21:57Speaker 3: are you talking about? Oh yeah, we got dudes every day. Dude,
- 21:59Speaker 3: like just going there, write your name down and get
- 22:01Speaker 3: whatever you want. Just like what right are you serious?
- 22:05Speaker 3: Like yeah, whatever you need? And I'm like all right, cool,
- 22:07Speaker 3: Like who has like chefs around here? And like yeah,
- 22:09Speaker 3: some people do, but like it's like check out the cafeteria, bro,
- 22:12Speaker 3: they got anything you need in there. And I walk
- 22:13Speaker 3: in and I'm just like, oh my god, this is
- 22:16Speaker 3: because Sissy didn't have none of that.
- 22:18Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean not. I mean yeah, it's.
- 22:22Speaker 1: Washington, like Washington that you'd have to go to like
- 22:24Speaker 1: you know, like the third parties outside the facility to
- 22:27Speaker 1: get your massage. And then you're in, uh, you're in Vegas, bro,
- 22:31Speaker 1: And they got everything out there in Vegas massage people
- 22:34Speaker 1: coming in like you said, like they're set up all
- 22:36Speaker 1: over the field. I mean, like they got the cafeteria.
- 22:40Speaker 1: If you don't if you want something that's like dietary
- 22:43Speaker 1: restricted or something else. Like they will cook for you
- 22:46Speaker 1: like a chef and give you a meal at night
- 22:48Speaker 1: time and in the morning, like give you something that's
- 22:50Speaker 1: off off of what they have out.
- 22:52Speaker 2: There on the floor. But it's just it's unreal.
- 22:55Speaker 3: Yeah, I think, and I think there's talks about this.
- 22:57Speaker 3: I think the PA needs to put like a ranking
- 23:00Speaker 3: list of teams.
- 23:02Speaker 2: Okay, this is what.
- 23:03Speaker 3: This is what's available for the facilities, like, this is
- 23:05Speaker 3: what the practice looks like, this is what you know,
- 23:08Speaker 3: training like whatever it is, so that and everyone has it,
- 23:10Speaker 3: like all the whole everyone has it. So you're like,
- 23:13Speaker 3: oh nice, Like you're a free agent and you're like,
- 23:15Speaker 3: oh cool, Like let me see what cool. Like maybe,
- 23:18Speaker 3: like you said, like Pete, there's tears to it, right
- 23:20Speaker 3: or there's like in your head you're like, okay, nice,
- 23:22Speaker 3: like this is the offer, but like maybe the facilities
- 23:26Speaker 3: aren't great, but like training camps, they show you love
- 23:29Speaker 3: like you know whatever it is, and you're like, oh cool,
- 23:32Speaker 3: like I know what a certain team has and that'll
- 23:35Speaker 3: make sure like that'll make sure teams are like on
- 23:38Speaker 3: their shit.
- 23:38Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, because we'll be in the PA meetings and
- 23:41Speaker 1: everybody be kind of arguing about the old like the
- 23:44Speaker 1: training room set up and like the access you have
- 23:47Speaker 1: because they want you to If you get hurt off site,
- 23:52Speaker 1: it doesn't pertain or happen it's it does it doesn't
- 23:54Speaker 1: involve your contract, right, But if you get happened on site,
- 23:57Speaker 1: like ADS facility, then they'll take care of you, right.
- 23:59Speaker 1: And everybody just argues back and forth about like we
- 24:02Speaker 1: would train there or we would be there, but everything
- 24:04Speaker 1: is shitty compared to what you can get training somewhere
- 24:07Speaker 1: else in the off season, whether it be Nashville, Austin, La, Arizona, Miami.
- 24:12Speaker 3: Going back to your college is yeah, fucking insane, right,
- 24:15Speaker 3: I'm like, dude, I go back and I'm like, how
- 24:18Speaker 3: much did you guys spend on this? Like donor money
- 24:20Speaker 3: is paying for all of this, and like we can't
- 24:22Speaker 3: have what like.
- 24:23Speaker 1: Right because NFL's money goes to players. Money in college
- 24:27Speaker 1: goes to like getting recruised. So yeah, you're right, it's
- 24:29Speaker 1: like you you're better off going to your college and
- 24:31Speaker 1: getting taken care of. But no, I agree with you
- 24:34Speaker 1: on that.
- 24:37Speaker 2: What do we have next.
- 24:39Speaker 1: I'm sitting here thinking about all the different spotsors trainer,
- 24:41Speaker 1: because I do remember vividly did you go to the
- 24:44Speaker 1: Do you go to the PA meetings?
- 24:46Speaker 2: Dude?
- 24:46Speaker 3: I went to some of them during the COVID stuff
- 24:48Speaker 3: and I just had to get out.
- 24:49Speaker 2: Man. I was like, you guys are asking the most absurd.
- 24:52Speaker 2: I say, the COVID stuff is this when they're zooming
- 24:54Speaker 2: the PA meetings? Okay? Yeah, that's you never went to
- 24:58Speaker 2: the in person once? Nah, I was supposed to this
- 25:00Speaker 2: last year.
- 25:00Speaker 3: Like this year, I'm getting text like with with Cincinnati guys.
- 25:04Speaker 3: I like, as I'm not, I'm not in this anymore,
- 25:06Speaker 3: Like I'm gonna have to remove myself. So I haven't
- 25:08Speaker 3: been to any of them.
- 25:09Speaker 2: Are you like an altar? We are you like an alternate? Yeah? Yeah, Hey,
- 25:12Speaker 2: I got a.
- 25:12Speaker 4: Question from someone who's not in the NFL because I
- 25:15Speaker 4: feel like a lot of our listeners when you hear
- 25:17Speaker 4: about the NFLPA, the only general consensus from players is
- 25:21Speaker 4: that you hate them. Can you all like go into
- 25:23Speaker 4: more depth of why the NFLPA is like maybe poorly run,
- 25:27Speaker 4: or just give us more insight to people who don't
- 25:30Speaker 4: get to understand what the PA really is doing and.
- 25:33Speaker 2: Stuff like that.
- 25:34Speaker 1: I think it's hard to because number one, even with
- 25:36Speaker 1: that question, you already put us on the other side
- 25:37Speaker 1: of the fence from our own union, the NFLPA, the
- 25:40Speaker 1: NFL Players Association is our union. And guys have a
- 25:44Speaker 1: lot of mixed reviews on the PA on how you
- 25:48Speaker 1: know it's ran. Guys always have a million questions when
- 25:51Speaker 1: you go to the meetings. It's like I it's when
- 25:53Speaker 1: I hear guys complain about it or get upset about it.
- 25:56Speaker 1: There's like things that obviously I none of us know
- 25:59Speaker 1: everything about it, but you sit there and hear stuff
- 26:01Speaker 1: on them being involved with the NFL a little bit
- 26:04Speaker 1: more than they probably should be, or they could be
- 26:07Speaker 1: working side stuff, or we build up this war chest and.
- 26:10Speaker 2: We never are really gonna do anything with it.
- 26:12Speaker 1: If we're just going to cower up and sign the
- 26:14Speaker 1: dotted line right before a new CBA happens, which in
- 26:17Speaker 1: my opinion, is what we did this past CBA. Is
- 26:20Speaker 1: we all sign Half the guys were signed before we
- 26:23Speaker 1: even got to the NFLPA meetings, And so there's there's
- 26:26Speaker 1: just always this like there's a lot of mixed reviews
- 26:29Speaker 1: about it. Like if we had Dennis Kelly on here,
- 26:31Speaker 1: Dennis Kelly is somebody who I look to who I
- 26:33Speaker 1: always try and hit up because he's.
- 26:34Speaker 2: Somebody who plays that side of Like, you got.
- 26:37Speaker 1: To understand it from this point of view, because some
- 26:39Speaker 1: guys will be really emotional about it and they just
- 26:41Speaker 1: fucking hate it. But there's a lot of guys who
- 26:43Speaker 1: don't go to the meetings or they don't show up
- 26:45Speaker 1: to stuff. So by the time guys are showing up
- 26:47Speaker 1: at these meetings, when they have them these destination places
- 26:50Speaker 1: or when you have them on zoom, I mean that one,
- 26:52Speaker 1: that one is, that one does suck. But when you
- 26:55Speaker 1: go and meet and we're all in the big room
- 26:57Speaker 1: and having our getaway every year, that three day trip,
- 27:00Speaker 1: guys are arguing over so much stuff.
- 27:02Speaker 2: You can't get anything done.
- 27:04Speaker 1: It's like you sit there because we're going back and forth,
- 27:06Speaker 1: or we're trying to get stuff done with like thirty
- 27:08Speaker 1: two NFL owners. You're talking about guys who you're talking
- 27:11Speaker 1: about people who are the elite of the elite. There's
- 27:14Speaker 1: thirty two of them sitting in a room. They understand
- 27:17Speaker 1: negotiating way more than any of us ever fucking will
- 27:20Speaker 1: because they've been doing business.
- 27:21Speaker 2: Their entire life.
- 27:23Speaker 1: They're not like, yes, some of them could be people
- 27:25Speaker 1: can argue like trust fund or legacy children or whatever
- 27:28Speaker 1: the case may be.
- 27:28Speaker 2: But it takes a lot of work to be a billionaire.
- 27:31Speaker 2: And you're all sitting in a room and there's thirty.
- 27:32Speaker 1: Two of you, and with us the NFLPA, you get
- 27:37Speaker 1: two fifteen hundred guys. Now all of us aren't there
- 27:40Speaker 1: at the meeting, but you get all of us in there,
- 27:41Speaker 1: and we're just charged up athletes trying to argue, and
- 27:44Speaker 1: we think we know what we need to be doing,
- 27:46Speaker 1: but guys are just sitting there fucking arguing all the time,
- 27:49Speaker 1: and it's like, Yo, this is not happening in the
- 27:52Speaker 1: owner's room.
- 27:53Speaker 2: We know that.
- 27:54Speaker 1: And everybody argues over stuff, and some of it's petty
- 27:56Speaker 1: enough to where it's like we try and get stuff
- 27:58Speaker 1: taken care of in the season where they come in
- 28:00Speaker 1: and visit us and have our meetings. And what I
- 28:04Speaker 1: think about that is like, we have to pay attention
- 28:08Speaker 1: in those small meetings because when we have them in season,
- 28:11Speaker 1: they're usually after practice there later in the year where
- 28:14Speaker 1: it's dark out already, you're already in the grind of
- 28:16Speaker 1: a season. Somebody from the NFLPA is standing up there
- 28:20Speaker 1: we're either making fun of him, or you're trying to
- 28:22Speaker 1: joke about the coaches you know, doing too much in practice,
- 28:25Speaker 1: or we're having you know what I'm talking about, and
- 28:28Speaker 1: you vote on your reps, your alternates and this that
- 28:30Speaker 1: the other, and we don't take care of the small
- 28:33Speaker 1: stuff that we try and we end up arguing about
- 28:36Speaker 1: when we're at these big meetings.
- 28:38Speaker 2: And that's kind of my two that's kind of like.
- 28:40Speaker 1: My thoughts on it when I sit back, because I've
- 28:42Speaker 1: been an alternate a few times, Like I've been in
- 28:44Speaker 1: the little meeting rooms and I argued one time about
- 28:47Speaker 1: practice squad guys getting a credited season, and they ended
- 28:51Speaker 1: up getting that done because Lorenzo Alexander was he was
- 28:54Speaker 1: a peace squad guy for like two or three years
- 28:56Speaker 1: and ended up.
- 28:57Speaker 2: Helping Pioneer like getting something done. But you can't get
- 29:00Speaker 2: stuff done.
- 29:01Speaker 1: But to me, guys aren't locked in like they should be,
- 29:04Speaker 1: and they would rather judge and have big opinions versus
- 29:09Speaker 1: taking the time to think about actual situations.
- 29:12Speaker 3: And guys just they just like some guys just like
- 29:15Speaker 3: hearing themselves talk like yeah, it's like.
- 29:17Speaker 2: It's dude, some duds be on their thing.
- 29:20Speaker 3: And they're spitting game like saying like hey let me,
- 29:23Speaker 3: let me, let me, let me spit something to you,
- 29:24Speaker 3: let me, Hey, let me educate you. It's like, no,
- 29:26Speaker 3: you're not educating anybody. You're just saying the same thing
- 29:29Speaker 3: over and over again for ten minutes. And then they're
- 29:31Speaker 3: giving you an answer, saying like hey, like we'll come
- 29:33Speaker 3: back to you on it, and you're like okay, what
- 29:35Speaker 3: and you're trying to word it in a way that's like,
- 29:37Speaker 3: well you just said that. You're just trying to sound
- 29:39Speaker 3: a little smart, but you're something dumber because you're saying
- 29:41Speaker 3: the same thing and you're not using bigger.
- 29:42Speaker 2: Words on the phone. Some dudes will start laughing, Yeah, no,
- 29:45Speaker 2: I mean you got to. It's like in honesty is insaaning.
- 29:48Speaker 3: And those same guys like you just said, like, they're
- 29:51Speaker 3: not in every meeting, so they'll miss a couple of
- 29:53Speaker 3: meetings and be like they'll hop on five whatever.
- 29:55Speaker 2: However many meetings later.
- 29:56Speaker 3: And just be like okay, so what about this and
- 29:59Speaker 3: just going to a and like hey, hey, like then
- 30:01Speaker 3: you got people talking over each other.
- 30:03Speaker 2: It's like, hey, we discussed this.
- 30:05Speaker 3: It's it's this, this and this, but he doesn't want
- 30:06Speaker 3: to hear it because he wasn't a part of that meeting,
- 30:08Speaker 3: and so and I was just like, all right, I'm
- 30:10Speaker 3: gonna I have the floor. I started talking. I'm gonna
- 30:12Speaker 3: keep talking. It's like, dude, just shut up.
- 30:15Speaker 2: Hell well, there's not like full tendance with the reps
- 30:19Speaker 2: or the representation who the guys who get voted on
- 30:21Speaker 2: and some guys who complain you need the money guys
- 30:23Speaker 2: to show up, Like yeah, that's like a that's a
- 30:25Speaker 2: valid argument, but like it's just it's way more.
- 30:29Speaker 1: It's like guys are it's we don't spend enough time
- 30:34Speaker 1: trying to get the actual stuff done. And I think
- 30:37Speaker 1: on the flip side, as a player, you sit back
- 30:40Speaker 1: and you see some of the stuff that does get
- 30:41Speaker 1: done or the way it's handled, and sometimes like like
- 30:44Speaker 1: I know, for me, it's like I would like you
- 30:46Speaker 1: want killers going up against these, you know, going up
- 30:49Speaker 1: against the NFL. Sometimes like guys feel like we can
- 30:52Speaker 1: see it a little too early too much, which I
- 30:54Speaker 1: would agree with.
- 30:55Speaker 2: On certain in certain situations or certain areas.
- 30:58Speaker 1: I'm doing my best to toe the line with all
- 31:00Speaker 1: all this stuff because obviously I'm pro for the boys,
- 31:03Speaker 1: like I want stuff to get done for the players
- 31:05Speaker 1: for the NFLPA.
- 31:06Speaker 2: So I am for the NFLPA.
- 31:07Speaker 1: So I try and hesitate like talking shit, so to speak,
- 31:11Speaker 1: because I want us to be better. So in my mindset,
- 31:14Speaker 1: it's like instead of bitching about it, like like, let's
- 31:16Speaker 1: figure out a way to like be together on something
- 31:20Speaker 1: or show up or you who are sitting here bitching
- 31:23Speaker 1: about the whole time, like be on a phone call
- 31:25Speaker 1: or show to a meeting, so that way you understand
- 31:28Speaker 1: like what you're digesting and spitting out in the first place.
- 31:31Speaker 3: Yeah, no, I mean, I'm that I'm with you. It's
- 31:34Speaker 3: you just said. It's just bitching. It's a whole lot
- 31:35Speaker 3: of bitching, and there's no like, there's nothing constructive that
- 31:38Speaker 3: comes out of it. If you're just gonna yell or
- 31:39Speaker 3: like talk or raise your voice, or if you don't
- 31:41Speaker 3: get the answer you want or like yeah, like if
- 31:43Speaker 3: you don't get the answer that you're looking for in
- 31:45Speaker 3: your head too, then it's just all hell breaks.
- 31:47Speaker 2: So then you freak out more.
- 31:48Speaker 1: And you spend too much time talking on certain topics
- 31:50Speaker 1: to where you waste all your time the dumbest stuff,
- 31:52Speaker 1: the dumbest shit.
- 31:53Speaker 3: For the r answer are on the dumbest things. It's
- 31:55Speaker 3: not on the things that are important too, which is
- 31:57Speaker 3: the which is why I'm just like, dude, I'm pissed off,
- 32:00Speaker 3: Like I'll just meete myself.
- 32:00Speaker 2: I'm kind of draping.
- 32:01Speaker 3: All right, I'm gonna put my phone down twenty minutes later,
- 32:03Speaker 3: but he's still gonna be talking. We're still gonna be
- 32:04Speaker 3: talking about the same pot because someone else is gonna
- 32:06Speaker 3: jump on about something that has no effect on anything
- 32:08Speaker 3: in the grand scheme of things, like it just so
- 32:11Speaker 3: minute and then we get nothing done, because then it's like,
- 32:14Speaker 3: all right, we got an hour and a half conversation,
- 32:16Speaker 3: twenty of it's been on.
- 32:17Speaker 2: The people have left the phone call. Just what have
- 32:19Speaker 2: we done exactly?
- 32:20Speaker 1: But if you're a player listening to this, I advise
- 32:22Speaker 1: everybody to go to these meetings that we have every year,
- 32:25Speaker 1: especially the one that the nation was like you plus
- 32:28Speaker 1: one first class, Like it's a little vacation for sure,
- 32:30Speaker 1: but don't just go for the vacation.
- 32:32Speaker 2: Show up to the meetings. I know a couple of
- 32:34Speaker 2: years that there was like an attendance because.
- 32:36Speaker 1: People would go get taken care of on like you know,
- 32:39Speaker 1: hotel first class plus one and dudes wouldn't show up
- 32:43Speaker 1: to these show up to the meaning where they'd start
- 32:45Speaker 1: taking attendance. That's why tennant started to happen. Yeah, oh
- 32:49Speaker 1: that's funny, dude. This past year going to the Super Bowl,
- 32:52Speaker 1: being this fucking close, What was it like experiencing the
- 32:58Speaker 1: Super Bowl and getting there on some like bullshit calls?
- 33:03Speaker 2: Can you elaborate on that? So?
- 33:05Speaker 1: I know one in particular against the Raiders that uh,
- 33:08Speaker 1: that play in the end zone and the whistle was blown.
- 33:11Speaker 2: I think that was a bullshit call. I don't, I
- 33:13Speaker 2: don't recall that one. Bring it up, Jack, I don't.
- 33:16Speaker 3: I don't know what you're talking about. To be honest
- 33:18Speaker 3: with you, I this man, just Johnny on the spot
- 33:22Speaker 3: out here. What are you doing?
- 33:23Speaker 2: He'll bring it, He'll bring it up. It was like
- 33:28Speaker 2: it was toys. Definitely not the final play, No, no, no.
- 33:31Speaker 1: It wasn't the final play because the Raiders were trying
- 33:32Speaker 1: to go down to score.
- 33:33Speaker 2: Yeah. I don't remember whistle on that one.
- 33:35Speaker 1: And unfortunately we stopped a rot pretty short from the
- 33:37Speaker 1: end zone when it's the last play of the fucking game.
- 33:39Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 33:40Speaker 1: I got cut the week before, however, I was all
- 33:43Speaker 1: about caping the boys going into the playoffs, because I
- 33:46Speaker 1: do strongly believe that I was a huge reason why
- 33:48Speaker 1: we got there.
- 33:49Speaker 2: I mean, for sure, just keep it straight face through
- 33:51Speaker 2: the entire time.
- 33:53Speaker 1: Dude, Foster's a stud man's very funny individual when you
- 33:57Speaker 1: get to know his humor, because at first you kind
- 33:59Speaker 1: of can't tell.
- 34:00Speaker 3: No, you have no idea, no clue. The first time I
- 34:02Speaker 3: met him, latt was was last tight in you.
- 34:04Speaker 2: And I was just like, what you thought he was autistic? Right? No,
- 34:08Speaker 2: I saw I didn't think that.
- 34:12Speaker 3: I was just like, this guy's got some he said,
- 34:14Speaker 3: and he was like, yeah, you know, you're talking about Joe.
- 34:17Speaker 3: He's like, yeah, you know, tell Joey said hey, like
- 34:19Speaker 3: that's my boy. Blah blah blah. And then it like clicked.
- 34:21Speaker 3: I was like, oh, you two are probably the same
- 34:22Speaker 3: because you got the same sense of humor like your friend's.
- 34:24Speaker 3: Probably because you're just like, you say something and you're
- 34:28Speaker 3: just straight faced and then you'll laugh maybe later, or
- 34:30Speaker 3: smile maybe later in like a cynical way, and you
- 34:32Speaker 3: think it's funny and it's not really that funny, but
- 34:34Speaker 3: then it turns out that it is funny.
- 34:35Speaker 2: I was like a whirlwind, but like that how it is?
- 34:37Speaker 2: You got to keep up with him.
- 34:38Speaker 1: Oh yeah, as we wait on as we wait on
- 34:42Speaker 1: him bringing this play up.
- 34:44Speaker 3: Playing with Joe B dude seems like the truth. Yeah,
- 34:47Speaker 3: he's he is. I mean he's he plays like a vet.
- 34:51Speaker 3: You know, he's he's Oh so.
- 34:53Speaker 1: Like explain what what what makes him comfortable enough to
- 34:56Speaker 1: where he commands a huddle like that to you play
- 34:58Speaker 1: like a vet.
- 34:59Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 34:59Speaker 3: He doesn't even like he doesn't even talk too too much.
- 35:01Speaker 3: But when he talks, it's like, oh shit, like he's
- 35:04Speaker 3: spoken like don't.
- 35:05Speaker 1: And when you say talk, are you talking about like
- 35:07Speaker 1: speaking in front of the team or are you talking like.
- 35:09Speaker 3: That really doesn't speak too much in front of the team.
- 35:11Speaker 3: When he does, it's like, okay, like this is how
- 35:13Speaker 3: it is. And and I think the main thing I
- 35:16Speaker 3: think too is like an offensive meetings coach is talking
- 35:19Speaker 3: and and it is kind of an open dialogue for
- 35:21Speaker 3: the most part, Like people aren't like just absolutely going
- 35:24Speaker 3: insane out there. But if you would, if you were
- 35:27Speaker 3: to say something like Joe would just be like, you know,
- 35:29Speaker 3: I kind of just want you to want to like
- 35:30Speaker 3: this or just you know what just get open, like
- 35:32Speaker 3: I'll find you, like I know, I know where you're
- 35:34Speaker 3: supposed to be if it's covered three or whatever, like
- 35:36Speaker 3: being the being the direction. Now I'll get you the ball,
- 35:38Speaker 3: like okay, cool, Like dope, I can just go out
- 35:40Speaker 3: there and play and like not like a robot like
- 35:42Speaker 3: and then you just have fun and and to an
- 35:45Speaker 3: extent because then if you're having too much fun, he'll
- 35:47Speaker 3: be like, hey, we gotta lock the buck in. And
- 35:50Speaker 3: then it's just like okay, cool, and then you just
- 35:52Speaker 3: stop like done, gotcha.
- 35:54Speaker 1: So he's got the whole quiet demeanor until he wants
- 35:58Speaker 1: to speak up or say something for sure, why try
- 36:00Speaker 1: to dress up for the for the games exactly?
- 36:02Speaker 2: Which is dude? Which is like is that a mind fuck?
- 36:04Speaker 1: If he's like got a quiet demeanor and then all
- 36:06Speaker 1: of a sudden he's shown up to the plane or
- 36:08Speaker 1: shown up for game day like he's.
- 36:09Speaker 2: I'm gonna tell you how fucking hilarious that is to me?
- 36:11Speaker 3: Like seeing this man just like sit in his locker
- 36:15Speaker 3: and not really talk, not really do much, like he
- 36:17Speaker 3: has a chessboard and in front of in front of
- 36:19Speaker 3: his locker that like like low key, he'll play chess
- 36:22Speaker 3: against himself, like certain moves.
- 36:23Speaker 2: Bro. Like it's like, bro, it's super interesting. He had
- 36:26Speaker 2: a chessboard sitting in front of his locker and.
- 36:28Speaker 3: So they got like a little golf cart, right or
- 36:30Speaker 3: like a little cart whatever. And I played against him
- 36:32Speaker 3: once and he thought I was gonna be He thought
- 36:33Speaker 3: I was gonna be trash. I could tell like he
- 36:35Speaker 3: was like, oh, this is gonna be easy. Sitting down,
- 36:37Speaker 3: He's making some moves and he's like hmm, and he'll
- 36:40Speaker 3: sit back. And it took like through meetings because he
- 36:42Speaker 3: he thought I was gonna be quick, right, like he
- 36:44Speaker 3: slept on me. So it took a little bit, but
- 36:47Speaker 3: he got out of meetings early. And I just see
- 36:49Speaker 3: him sitting there looking at the board and he's like, hey,
- 36:52Speaker 3: you want to make a move, And I'm like all right, cool,
- 36:54Speaker 3: Like so I sit there for a second, I make
- 36:55Speaker 3: a move and he immediately moves a piece and I'm
- 36:57Speaker 3: like this, you've jackass. You've been You've been calculating every
- 36:59Speaker 3: move that I was doing, Like this is weird. And
- 37:01Speaker 3: so like he plays a couple of people, he's beating
- 37:04Speaker 3: the shit at him and people just are like not
- 37:07Speaker 3: playing anymore. It's during the season later in the season,
- 37:09Speaker 3: and he'll just like kind of like move the chest
- 37:10Speaker 3: pieces around a little bit, like play against himself.
- 37:13Speaker 2: And you're just looking like like are you good? Like?
- 37:16Speaker 2: Are you good? Like? Are you just like that's smart
- 37:19Speaker 2: to where you're playing. It's like what like what is this?
- 37:21Speaker 3: And he won't say a word, and then I'll just
- 37:22Speaker 3: get ready to go out to practice like kind of
- 37:25Speaker 3: smile a little bit, kind of joke around a little bit,
- 37:27Speaker 3: be all serious, come back in, kind of sit there
- 37:28Speaker 3: for a second, like after games too, like depending on
- 37:31Speaker 3: the game, he'll just sit there, no phone, no nothing,
- 37:34Speaker 3: and his paths just sit there like I'm assuming just
- 37:37Speaker 3: analyzing the game.
- 37:38Speaker 2: But he dude, he's do you ask him why he
- 37:40Speaker 2: sits there?
- 37:40Speaker 3: No, I'm not going to disturb him when he's in
- 37:42Speaker 3: He's like, they'll disturb the Like I'm just like, dude,
- 37:45Speaker 3: just sitting there, chill, like I'll just talk to the
- 37:47Speaker 3: other boys that are around the locker room because I'm
- 37:49Speaker 3: I was a couple of lockers not from him, you know.
- 37:52Speaker 3: Next to me was Drew Sample then like Tyler boyd
- 37:54Speaker 3: so TV and I would fuck around all the time
- 37:57Speaker 3: like we would. He'd come over to the crib take
- 37:58Speaker 3: a shot after every win. Like that was an open
- 38:01Speaker 3: door policy for him. We talked about like this open
- 38:03Speaker 3: door possily he would walk in the house, take a
- 38:05Speaker 3: shot with me, and then just walk out like that's
- 38:08Speaker 3: not say a word, not say a word, it's back, cheers,
- 38:11Speaker 3: good ship, I see you later. And so we would
- 38:13Speaker 3: mess around a lot, and you just got Joe in
- 38:14Speaker 3: the background as we're like clowning.
- 38:16Speaker 2: Just.
- 38:18Speaker 1: Yes, that's against himself, us himself. Hey, that's iconic, Like
- 38:23Speaker 1: that is awesome, that is legendary. And then all of
- 38:26Speaker 1: a sudden, like when it's obviously a big game, he
- 38:28Speaker 1: just pulls out the cigar.
- 38:28Speaker 2: And just yeah, he didn't He didn't want to start
- 38:32Speaker 2: sitting a little dancing in the rhythm.
- 38:34Speaker 3: He didn't want to smoke either, the cigar until the
- 38:37Speaker 3: Super Bowl, Like he was like, yo, I want this
- 38:39Speaker 3: I Like he was like, I'll smoke this one now,
- 38:41Speaker 3: like we just want like we're no chance whatever, but
- 38:44Speaker 3: like I'm not smoking another one after we want a
- 38:46Speaker 3: playoff game, no, none of that. It's gonna be after
- 38:48Speaker 3: we won the Super Bowl. Like he's like, I'm I'm
- 38:50Speaker 3: cool off that, all right. He doesn't even I don't
- 38:53Speaker 3: even know if he likes smoking cigars. It's just now
- 38:56Speaker 3: that's that's that's him.
- 38:59Speaker 2: What a legend, dou.
- 39:01Speaker 1: Did you find the play? Here we go scrambling around.
- 39:08Speaker 1: Did you hear that whistle right before he caught that ball?
- 39:11Speaker 1: I know you fucking did?
- 39:12Speaker 2: Go back? Wait? Go back? What? What? What quarter? Was it?
- 39:16Speaker 2: What even is this? This is the second quarter? This
- 39:21Speaker 2: is before halftime? Nah? Yeah, that's fine. You saw my
- 39:27Speaker 2: man back there below the fucking whistle.
- 39:29Speaker 3: I saw him put it. Look look look at me.
- 39:31Speaker 3: I'm just looking at I'm just looking at TB.
- 39:35Speaker 2: Look at me. Oh yeah, listen to the whistle. I'm listening.
- 39:44Speaker 3: Oh no, I think that's a delayed that was the
- 39:45Speaker 3: delayed TV reaction.
- 39:46Speaker 2: I think that's what happened.
- 39:48Speaker 1: You got that little ship grin on your face. Man, Hey, listen,
- 39:50Speaker 1: you're not You're not on the Bengals anymore. Was talk
- 39:53Speaker 1: about it transparently? Were you sitting there? Were you sitting
- 39:55Speaker 1: there thinking like ship? All of us were like, what
- 39:58Speaker 1: the hell is going on right now? Did you think
- 40:00Speaker 1: like oh, I thought I heard the whistle? Like, be real,
- 40:02Speaker 1: did you personally on the field here the whistle are
- 40:04Speaker 1: you just saw?
- 40:05Speaker 6: Oh?
- 40:05Speaker 2: What are what is the conversation even about? No?
- 40:08Speaker 3: No, no, I heard the whistle as the balls in the air,
- 40:11Speaker 3: Like as I'm looking, I was like ball because the
- 40:15Speaker 3: ball was thrown. Like I mean, you hear he's putting
- 40:19Speaker 3: the whistle in his mouth. He's not blowing it yet.
- 40:21Speaker 3: He's blowing it like now, and I'm like, wait, what
- 40:24Speaker 3: the hell? Like I was a little premature, like did
- 40:26Speaker 3: he know he was going to catch that right now?
- 40:27Speaker 3: Like what's going on? Did you see me? I'm just like, okay,
- 40:31Speaker 3: he caught it. That should be a touchdown. I don't
- 40:34Speaker 3: know what's going on the sideline over there, but like
- 40:36Speaker 3: I'm going to act like it's a touchdown and until
- 40:38Speaker 3: they say it's not a touchdown. Yeah you see me
- 40:41Speaker 3: looking out. I'm not like super hype at the moment
- 40:43Speaker 3: because I'm I don't.
- 40:44Speaker 2: Know I was going on touchdown exactly. I didn't know
- 40:48Speaker 2: so we needed.
- 40:49Speaker 3: But I do know. I do know that that was
- 40:52Speaker 3: a touchdown. If you look at it too, I mean
- 40:55Speaker 3: he's not gonna make the I.
- 40:56Speaker 2: Mean yeah, he's probably not going to make the play.
- 40:58Speaker 1: However, like for argument's sake, for you, for my narrative.
- 41:02Speaker 2: For your narrative.
- 41:03Speaker 3: You got it for media, for everyone else's narrative social
- 41:07Speaker 3: media in the world.
- 41:07Speaker 2: That we need.
- 41:08Speaker 1: It's gonna be up to you to find the rest
- 41:09Speaker 1: of this clip and post it yourself a cool.
- 41:12Speaker 2: You got we got, we got it, we got it.
- 41:13Speaker 2: I'm boys with the boy. We're good. We dropped when
- 41:17Speaker 2: he drops the right. Here's the full entire quote. Yeah,
- 41:22Speaker 2: because I got. I was dealing one with Foster.
- 41:25Speaker 1: Last week on saying that he's the team to beat,
- 41:28Speaker 1: the Raiders are the team to beat in the AFC West,
- 41:30Speaker 1: and we quote it like in big, like a big
- 41:32Speaker 1: graphic like that he said it, and then I'm like
- 41:34Speaker 1: very small that people can't understand, and everybody's like arguing,
- 41:38Speaker 1: that's crazy that he's already claiming that they're the best team.
- 41:41Speaker 2: Blah blah blah blah. Just to just to roll everybody
- 41:43Speaker 2: up on the internet.
- 41:45Speaker 1: Going to Tennessee, talk about that game, obviously you got
- 41:49Speaker 1: Now as you do talk about it, you got to
- 41:52Speaker 1: juggernaut fans back there, and Garrett and Jack. I'm obviously
- 41:55Speaker 1: for the boys as well. You beat both both my
- 41:58Speaker 1: squads back to back. Was going into Tennessee like I'm
- 42:01Speaker 1: sure you guys had all the confidence in the world,
- 42:03Speaker 1: but Tennessee was fucking rolling. Derrick the King, Henry's coming back, Yeah,
- 42:06Speaker 1: talk about coming to Nashville.
- 42:07Speaker 2: All right, I gotta say this too. Offer it.
- 42:10Speaker 3: After the game, I said, I gotta talking about clickbait
- 42:15Speaker 3: and like things that blowing out of proportion. I said,
- 42:18Speaker 3: you know, the quote was that they were scared of us.
- 42:22Speaker 3: That's what quoted. Saying that, that's what got quoted. Bring
- 42:25Speaker 3: that up, Jake, No, that's what got that what got quoted.
- 42:31Speaker 2: But the entirety, like I'm long winded, right, so like
- 42:34Speaker 2: sometimes I just explain the yeah, explain the situation.
- 42:38Speaker 3: What I was saying was like the entire situation was, Hey,
- 42:43Speaker 3: I saw the way that they were playing, right, Like
- 42:45Speaker 3: the offense was trying to run the ball. They were
- 42:46Speaker 3: trying to run the ball. They were trying to milk
- 42:47Speaker 3: the clock. They weren't really like like, yo, you guys
- 42:50Speaker 3: can come down and you guys can go win this
- 42:51Speaker 3: game too.
- 42:53Speaker 1: Yeah, we're on the sideline and we're watching our defense
- 42:57Speaker 1: and we're kind of seeing how Tennessee.
- 42:59Speaker 2: Tennessee is playing dot. Oh they're scared of us. Dot.
- 43:03Speaker 2: You see that.
- 43:06Speaker 1: Can we get the ball back, We're gonna win this game.
- 43:08Speaker 1: That was our mindset the entire time. They know if
- 43:11Speaker 1: they give it back to us, it's game over. And
- 43:14Speaker 1: then we get the ball back and we're like it's
- 43:16Speaker 1: game over.
- 43:18Speaker 2: It's over.
- 43:20Speaker 3: So what I was saying was like, okay, like it's
- 43:22Speaker 3: a tie. It's a tie game, right, and time's winding
- 43:26Speaker 3: down like heavily, and it's just we're still gonna run
- 43:29Speaker 3: the ball. We're STI gonna run the ball. We're STI
- 43:30Speaker 3: gonna run the ball. It's still and I'm like, oh, dang,
- 43:34Speaker 3: Like yeah they're not. I mean, they've had some explosive
- 43:36Speaker 3: runs like well, like we were happy with how our
- 43:39Speaker 3: defense was playing. We're like, yo, this is we're playing great.
- 43:42Speaker 3: It was a really good defensive game. And we're sitting
- 43:45Speaker 3: on the side like dang, Like they're not. Really it
- 43:47Speaker 3: doesn't seem like they're like too keen on hurrying up
- 43:50Speaker 3: to try to get you know, get a touchdown or
- 43:52Speaker 3: getting field g range. It's kind of like it's a slow,
- 43:54Speaker 3: methodical pace and I know the game of football, Like
- 43:56Speaker 3: I'm like, dang, all right, obviously they're wanting to kick
- 43:58Speaker 3: a field goal to win the game.
- 44:00Speaker 2: When you do that, I mean.
- 44:02Speaker 3: Yeah, but I'm like, you know, certain, I'm like, you know,
- 44:05Speaker 3: like you can throw the ball a little b it's
- 44:07Speaker 3: third and however long like oh that thing, air that
- 44:10Speaker 3: thing out like that's I'm a coach.
- 44:12Speaker 2: That's how we've been kind of playing.
- 44:14Speaker 3: Like in my mindset throughout the year, it's like all right, cool,
- 44:16Speaker 3: like yeah, we've been able to run the ball well,
- 44:17Speaker 3: but like games coming down, we're putting the ball in
- 44:20Speaker 3: and on our boy's hand and he's gonna we're gonna
- 44:23Speaker 3: make plays on the perimeter. And so I'm just like, yo,
- 44:25Speaker 3: we get this ball back, like we're good, Like they're
- 44:28Speaker 3: they don't want us to touch the ball for a second,
- 44:30Speaker 3: like they don't want it.
- 44:31Speaker 2: They don't want us to anything. And so I'm that's me.
- 44:34Speaker 3: Yeah, that's just what I'm saying to the team, what
- 44:36Speaker 3: I'm saying to the squad, like that's how I'm thinking.
- 44:39Speaker 2: And I did say like, oh, they're scared.
- 44:43Speaker 3: They're scared of our offense and what we can do
- 44:45Speaker 3: right like rightfully, So gotta explain yourself.
- 44:48Speaker 2: You can talk your ship and they stand up.
- 44:49Speaker 1: But you know how dudes are on the dudes are
- 44:52Speaker 1: on the sideland they'll walk up and down the bench
- 44:53Speaker 1: and back.
- 44:54Speaker 2: Hey they're fucking scared. They ain't trying to the ball,
- 44:56Speaker 2: like talk my ship, say what you're trying to back
- 44:58Speaker 2: pedal just a little bit.
- 44:59Speaker 3: I just I just want the record to show I
- 45:00Speaker 3: didn't just be like, motherfucker scared of shit.
- 45:03Speaker 2: Hey, we we win and done.
- 45:05Speaker 3: I'm like, yo, like respectfully, one hundred percent. We were
- 45:09Speaker 3: them dogs great, Like they should be scared of our offense.
- 45:11Speaker 3: We you know, they're they're having a good game, they've
- 45:13Speaker 3: got how many sacks whatever, but like nutcunch time, you know.
- 45:17Speaker 2: How many sacks and Tennessee get nine none and none
- 45:21Speaker 2: eat nine.
- 45:23Speaker 3: But we're still we're still there, like cool, this is
- 45:25Speaker 3: what we do, like end of the game and at halftime,
- 45:27Speaker 3: this is what we do.
- 45:28Speaker 2: We make shit happen. And so that's that's that's that's
- 45:31Speaker 2: how I felt. Cool.
- 45:32Speaker 3: I'm gonna say it, but like, at least hold me
- 45:34Speaker 3: on the whole damn thing. I'm just like, they're scared
- 45:36Speaker 3: of us idiots. Three game over.
- 45:39Speaker 2: If I'm the reporter, like that's obviously the headline.
- 45:42Speaker 3: There's of course, yeah, like I gotta I gotta word
- 45:44Speaker 3: word my stuff a little bit better maybe, but yeah, no,
- 45:47Speaker 3: coming to Tennessee was sick. I mean I live here
- 45:49Speaker 3: in the off season, and so like the hotel we
- 45:52Speaker 3: were staying at was like a seven minute walk.
- 45:55Speaker 2: From where I live.
- 45:55Speaker 3: Oh for real, Yeah, and that's nice. People were like, yo,
- 45:57Speaker 3: you're gonna go back home, like you want to see
- 45:59Speaker 3: your family there.
- 45:59Speaker 2: Whatever.
- 46:00Speaker 3: I was like, now, I'm gonna do the same thing
- 46:01Speaker 3: that I always do. I'm gonna be in the hotel.
- 46:02Speaker 3: If you want to see me, come in the hotel.
- 46:04Speaker 3: Like it sucks because I want to go back to
- 46:06Speaker 3: the crib, like hang out, like you get some decent food.
- 46:09Speaker 2: Whatever. But like I do what I do every time.
- 46:11Speaker 2: So now I was electric.
- 46:14Speaker 1: Man.
- 46:14Speaker 3: I got to have a lot of family and friends
- 46:16Speaker 3: come too, because I mean, Nashville is supposed to close
- 46:18Speaker 3: to Georgia where I'm from, and it was it was sick.
- 46:23Speaker 2: When you're going to Nashville.
- 46:24Speaker 1: I'm thinking of this now because you know how the
- 46:26Speaker 1: boys like go out and eat and stuff. Yeah, what
- 46:28Speaker 1: spots are you putting the boys on coming to Nashville.
- 46:31Speaker 3: Oh, that's a good question. For the most part. The
- 46:34Speaker 3: first thing that I say every time is Barcelona. I
- 46:37Speaker 3: love a good tapast spot, tapas and wine. On Monday,
- 46:40Speaker 3: you got half price wine on Monday, you get to tapas.
- 46:44Speaker 2: Oh come on, I'm in big tapas guy. Man.
- 46:47Speaker 1: Nah, but like, why know you can order it a
- 46:49Speaker 1: you can order a lot more so. My wife, she's
- 46:52Speaker 1: from DC. There's a Barcelona in DC, and she took
- 46:54Speaker 1: us there one time on one of our days. And
- 46:57Speaker 1: I wasn't the biggest fan because you like, tell you something,
- 46:59Speaker 1: you gotta split it, hey, order up more stuff. And
- 47:03Speaker 1: then you know, we were young in the game back
- 47:04Speaker 1: then too, so my mind was probably somewhere else, like
- 47:06Speaker 1: let's get.
- 47:06Speaker 2: Up, let's get out, let's get out out of this date.
- 47:08Speaker 2: You know what I'm saying, Let's go back home. Yeah,
- 47:12Speaker 2: but I'm not a huge tapas guy.
- 47:13Speaker 3: See like the thing that I do for the most part,
- 47:16Speaker 3: like I know what I like from from Barcelona. First
- 47:18Speaker 3: time I went there, I went there for the wine.
- 47:20Speaker 2: Tell me my order. Tell me my order next year.
- 47:21Speaker 3: To get the croquettes, get to get the potatos, bravos,
- 47:26Speaker 3: get the klamari, get the.
- 47:30Speaker 2: What did I just have that was decent?
- 47:32Speaker 3: You know they have this spinach and chick piece something
- 47:35Speaker 3: and it was actually pretty fire. Like I'm not like,
- 47:38Speaker 3: I kind of if he I don't even finished.
- 47:40Speaker 2: And chick be's like, let's yea, but it was fire.
- 47:44Speaker 3: They have a oh, I don't know, they have this
- 47:47Speaker 3: other like pork something. It's like a little like yeah,
- 47:49Speaker 3: the pork belly there, nomen no, it's but then get
- 47:54Speaker 3: the croquettes and the potatoes. No matter what. But ask
- 47:57Speaker 3: the chef with their favorite thing. I do it every
- 47:59Speaker 3: single time. Hey, whatever the chef wants, like, give me,
- 48:01Speaker 3: give me something that's and it is always fire.
- 48:04Speaker 2: Okay, I'll do that outside of Barcelona.
- 48:07Speaker 3: Outside of Barcelona. Oh that's a good question. Where do
- 48:11Speaker 3: I go out here?
- 48:11Speaker 2: It's your favorite steakhouse in Nashville. I don't go to
- 48:15Speaker 2: many steakhouses. Yeah really? Oh yeah I went to yeah,
- 48:18Speaker 2: Bourbon Steak. Went there. Bourbon's fire. Yeah, Bourbon was pretty fire,
- 48:21Speaker 2: especially if you get the nice like view yeast window,
- 48:25Speaker 2: like you get a nice view.
- 48:26Speaker 3: Bourbon Steak was. Bourbon Steak was really good. I went
- 48:28Speaker 3: to Cane I like the apps.
- 48:31Speaker 2: Say it again, Dane bro ammen brother, Yeah, the apps there.
- 48:35Speaker 2: I will say this from Bourbon that the fries, the
- 48:37Speaker 2: trio sauce fire God.
- 48:40Speaker 3: That was right, Okay. I wasn't ready for it either,
- 48:43Speaker 3: because I'm talking. I don't forget. I'm like in conversation
- 48:46Speaker 3: with somebody. He's explaining everything, and then I look, I'm like,
- 48:49Speaker 3: damn what what?
- 48:50Speaker 2: What are all these sauces?
- 48:51Speaker 3: And and we took the boys there like it was
- 48:53Speaker 3: me Zach, it was for tighting you like, uh, conk
- 48:57Speaker 3: was there. One of my boys was there, and there
- 48:58Speaker 3: girls whatever, And I'm like, a bro, what what the hell?
- 49:02Speaker 3: What are these sauces? I have no idea, just try
- 49:03Speaker 3: and whatever. So I'm trying them. I'm like, damn, okay,
- 49:06Speaker 3: I hit another frime. I'm like, wait, this is a
- 49:08Speaker 3: different fry. They have different fries with the different sauces.
- 49:11Speaker 3: My mind was it's like a flight of fries. I
- 49:14Speaker 3: was just thinking, should we go there this weekend?
- 49:15Speaker 2: Boys?
- 49:16Speaker 1: It's like a flight of fries with three different sauces,
- 49:20Speaker 1: three different styles of fry. I mean, it's incredible. It's
- 49:23Speaker 1: like they're bread right, like they give that to you.
- 49:25Speaker 2: Yeah, I don't remember. They just came out. Well. I
- 49:30Speaker 2: think I think it is.
- 49:31Speaker 1: I think it's kind of like their their version of
- 49:33Speaker 1: anybody from Bourbon listening. We're giving you a free shout out.
- 49:36Speaker 1: We shouldn't be, but you should hook the boys over.
- 49:39Speaker 1: But came Prime, I am fucking with you on their
- 49:42Speaker 1: apps everything. Like when it comes to actual steak, you
- 49:46Speaker 1: can kind of figure it out at any of these steakhouses,
- 49:49Speaker 1: like they're all similar, they're all kind of in the
- 49:51Speaker 1: same ballpark. But when it comes to everything outside of
- 49:54Speaker 1: the steak, like the entrees, came Prime to me is
- 49:57Speaker 1: hands down best appetizers, best bread, like the popcorn, lobster fire,
- 50:05Speaker 1: the cotton candy, bacon.
- 50:06Speaker 3: The bacon. If you were gonna leave the bacon out
- 50:08Speaker 3: out of it, that is the most fire thing that
- 50:13Speaker 3: I like in the world. Talk to him like actually,
- 50:17Speaker 3: and I was kind of sleeping on it. The first
- 50:20Speaker 3: time I heard it was was from a friend and
- 50:22Speaker 3: she was like, yeah, you know, uh, you gotta go here,
- 50:25Speaker 3: you gotta get this cotton candy bacon.
- 50:27Speaker 2: I was like, no, that sounds.
- 50:29Speaker 3: Just like I also think it was like cotton candy
- 50:31Speaker 3: on a stick with bacon, and I'm like that just
- 50:33Speaker 3: sounds disgusting. And then she comes out she's like prepares
- 50:37Speaker 3: it for you, and you're just like what is going
- 50:39Speaker 3: on here?
- 50:39Speaker 1: You take a bite and you're just like, I'm done.
- 50:41Speaker 1: Bacon kind of melts onto it. Yeah, I'm sold, bro,
- 50:44Speaker 1: It's incredible. Yeah, they actually bring it out in the thigh.
- 50:48Speaker 1: You haven't well done bacon, dude. Oh my, with the
- 50:52Speaker 1: cotton candy on it. It's like a nice presentation. You're
- 50:54Speaker 1: sitting there, like the ambiance and the in cane prime
- 50:57Speaker 1: is like darker, you know what I mean. It's got
- 50:58Speaker 1: like the tended light vibe going on. And then they
- 51:01Speaker 1: talked to you about the bacon a little bit, and
- 51:02Speaker 1: they's sitting there melting and you kind of like you're
- 51:04Speaker 1: splitting it up a little bit. You want to take
- 51:06Speaker 1: the whole thing down, but my mouth is water and
- 51:08Speaker 1: talking about it it is a vibe in your mouth.
- 51:12Speaker 3: I come back for the bye week. I'll take you there.
- 51:15Speaker 3: Oh yeah, I was gonna we got this bust with
- 51:21Speaker 3: the boys. Uh team dinner.
- 51:24Speaker 2: Well I didn't wait, hold on, I didn't say team dinner.
- 51:31Speaker 2: My fog got a little ahead of myself. Now you
- 51:34Speaker 2: can sit a table away from us.
- 51:36Speaker 1: Another good one in the Southern that's a good steakhouse
- 51:39Speaker 1: in Nashville.
- 51:40Speaker 2: I've been there. Once and I didn't get I didn't
- 51:42Speaker 2: get the steak.
- 51:43Speaker 1: So you can go up and choose your selection. Actually, yeah,
- 51:47Speaker 1: like windows shopping, go up there and you get to
- 51:49Speaker 1: pick your cut. Oh wow, it's a pretty that's pretty cool.
- 51:51Speaker 1: That's pretty Check it out next time. All right, where
- 51:54Speaker 1: were we before we got off the tangent of Nashville? Okay,
- 51:56Speaker 1: playing the Titans. You talked, ship tight, we're scared of
- 51:59Speaker 1: the Bengals. Last year you said Derek Henry didn't want
- 52:05Speaker 1: it too right, said right now?
- 52:09Speaker 2: Is that what happened then? You guys?
- 52:11Speaker 1: Yeah, but they they went to the conference championship. After that,
- 52:14Speaker 1: who'd you guys play in the conference championship?
- 52:16Speaker 2: K C? After they're crazy game with the Bills. The Bills,
- 52:20Speaker 2: I know, man like, I.
- 52:22Speaker 1: Like, I'm a fan of case Like, everybody loves Kansas
- 52:25Speaker 1: City the Chiefs, Like my mom her favorite team was
- 52:27Speaker 1: Kansas City and everybody in Nebraska they're pro team since
- 52:30Speaker 1: there's no prope team in Nebraska is Kansas City. But
- 52:33Speaker 1: bro like are something about pulling for the Bills that
- 52:37Speaker 1: I was wanting them to pull it off. I was
- 52:38Speaker 1: wanting Josh Allen to pull it off against my Homes.
- 52:40Speaker 1: I mean, they won, they had won a super Bowl,
- 52:42Speaker 1: but I was rooting for the Bills to kind of
- 52:43Speaker 1: like go to the go to the super Bowl outside
- 52:46Speaker 1: of the Titans, and of course outside the Raiders. You
- 52:48Speaker 1: guys would like to send a realer story running through everybody.
- 52:51Speaker 2: Don't you feel that way? Don't you feel like you
- 52:53Speaker 2: guys were the underdog? I mean yeah, to the out,
- 52:55Speaker 2: to the outside for sure, Like oh not to the inside.
- 52:58Speaker 3: I mean, like you just said, you gotta talkh sh
- 53:00Speaker 3: Like in the locker room, we were like, yo, we
- 53:01Speaker 3: we we're those boys, like we are.
- 53:05Speaker 2: We're a damn good team.
- 53:06Speaker 3: We've been showing it, like you know, we've had some
- 53:08Speaker 3: hiccups throughout the year, but like shit, we're here now,
- 53:10Speaker 3: like come on, like we gotta we gotta try to
- 53:12Speaker 3: our respect. So yeah, no, that game was crazy. I
- 53:16Speaker 3: mean I got hurt that game, like pretty early first quarter,
- 53:20Speaker 3: messed my knee up and I was fucking kissed.
- 53:23Speaker 2: Oh yeah, because you're in the playoffs, Like you're like.
- 53:25Speaker 3: I'm like this sucks, like this is like the worst
- 53:28Speaker 3: thing that could happen to me right now, and and
- 53:30Speaker 3: low key, like I thought to the squad, I was like, damn,
- 53:33Speaker 3: I'm not on the field, like this is just that sucks,
- 53:35Speaker 3: Like I don't know, like kind of feel like I'm
- 53:37Speaker 3: a little spark plug whatever. So I get and I
- 53:40Speaker 3: like feel it and I'm like, damn, I might what happened?
- 53:43Speaker 2: What happened to your knee?
- 53:44Speaker 3: It was a great three mcl like they said like
- 53:48Speaker 3: two and a half three whatever, And I tried to
- 53:51Speaker 3: jump and right when I jumped, I felt it like
- 53:54Speaker 3: twine a little bit. And then I missed the ball
- 53:56Speaker 3: and I was like oh shit, and I look back
- 53:58Speaker 3: and I landed awkwardly, and that's when I like heard
- 54:01Speaker 3: something and I was like, oh.
- 54:03Speaker 2: Shit, like I think I just tore this, like this sucks.
- 54:07Speaker 3: And then I like popped off the field, got on
- 54:10Speaker 3: to the bench and they were like, yeah, we gotta
- 54:11Speaker 3: get you in the locker room. They put me in
- 54:12Speaker 3: a splint and boys came in at halftime and I
- 54:15Speaker 3: like crutched out there like trying to like no.
- 54:19Speaker 2: I was like, yeah, boys, let's go, let's go. I'm
- 54:21Speaker 2: here with you, guys.
- 54:22Speaker 3: I started jumping around and the trainers like, dude, you gotta,
- 54:24Speaker 3: you gotta you have to sit down, like you cannot
- 54:26Speaker 3: be doing this get away from the sideline like like
- 54:28Speaker 3: one of the trainers is. He's like, actually one of
- 54:31Speaker 3: my best friends for sure, Like Nick Cosgray fucking love no,
- 54:36Speaker 3: but like he he he helps me with everything, like
- 54:39Speaker 3: he helped me get back for the super Bowl all
- 54:40Speaker 3: this stuff.
- 54:41Speaker 2: And he was like, dude, I love you. I know
- 54:43Speaker 2: you're passionate about this ship.
- 54:44Speaker 3: You gotta sit down, like if you want to if
- 54:46Speaker 3: we win this game, you want to play in the
- 54:47Speaker 3: super Bowl. If you keep doing the ship, you're not
- 54:48Speaker 3: gonna do anything. I was like, all right, fine, whatever.
- 54:51Speaker 3: So I'm sitting on the bench and I'm just like,
- 54:53Speaker 3: come on, let's go, boys, let's go. We're coming back.
- 54:56Speaker 3: Let's do this. I'm watching the game, like even at halftime,
- 54:58Speaker 3: like seeing Eli Apple make that stand like stop against
- 55:02Speaker 3: uh Rieke on the goal line, I'm like, holy shit,
- 55:05Speaker 3: like that's that's monumental, Like that's huge for the boys,
- 55:09Speaker 3: and we fucking win that ship.
- 55:10Speaker 2: And that was absolutely insane. That was like scenes, so
- 55:13Speaker 2: you so you make it back for the super Bowl
- 55:17Speaker 2: on a on a grade two plus three m CL.
- 55:21Speaker 3: What was that like trying to get back for the
- 55:22Speaker 3: super Bowl. That was the worst thing ever. That was
- 55:25Speaker 3: like the actual worst thing ever. Like that's why I said,
- 55:27Speaker 3: like Nix.
- 55:27Speaker 2: The boy, like, so you're not getting surgery.
- 55:29Speaker 1: No, you're doing what you can to make the super Bowl,
- 55:32Speaker 1: but like talk about yeah, talk about those next couple
- 55:34Speaker 1: of weeks.
- 55:35Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 55:35Speaker 3: Well the crazy thing was when when I like at halftime,
- 55:39Speaker 3: I go in and they were like, yeah, it's like
- 55:41Speaker 3: you won't need surgery for sure. And the first thing
- 55:44Speaker 3: I was like, yo, Nick, like will I be able?
- 55:46Speaker 3: Like can I play for the in the super Bowl?
- 55:48Speaker 3: He was I wouldn't count it out. And right when
- 55:50Speaker 3: he said that, I was like I'm cool, Like I'm dope,
- 55:52Speaker 3: I'm great. That's the first thing I said to coach
- 55:54Speaker 3: after we won. I was like, you'll be back for
- 55:56Speaker 3: the super Bowl. I was like, okay, all right, I
- 55:59Speaker 3: have dreams.
- 56:00Speaker 2: I got you.
- 56:00Speaker 3: Whatever said it's a Katie who's the owner's daughter. I
- 56:03Speaker 3: was like yeah, like said I'm so sorry. I was like,
- 56:05Speaker 3: don't be I'll be back. I'll be back for the
- 56:06Speaker 3: super Bowl. It's fine, and she's like okay, and yeah.
- 56:10Speaker 3: It was just a grind, like I was with Nick
- 56:12Speaker 3: two three times a day, just doing just everything I could,
- 56:15Speaker 3: like kept it elevated for two weeks straight, just like
- 56:20Speaker 3: in on the bed. I have a little bed that
- 56:22Speaker 3: like has a little foot lifter. You know what I'm saying.
- 56:24Speaker 3: Kept it there. I was like, this sucks. It's annoying
- 56:26Speaker 3: as hell. I can't. Like I'm a stomach sleeper myself.
- 56:29Speaker 3: I don't know what you.
- 56:30Speaker 2: Are, but no, I'm I'm on my back or side
- 56:32Speaker 2: really side.
- 56:34Speaker 3: See, I snore, I snore heavy when I'm on my back,
- 56:36Speaker 3: so I can't do it. So I was snoring like crazy. No,
- 56:40Speaker 3: we can talk about that after the point.
- 56:42Speaker 2: Yeah, because I got a couple. Do you like would
- 56:44Speaker 2: you rather sleep on your back? Do you like sleeping
- 56:46Speaker 2: on your back? I like sleeping on my stomach? Oh?
- 56:48Speaker 2: You like sleeping on your stomach?
- 56:49Speaker 4: Yeah?
- 56:49Speaker 2: I like it. It's it's comfortable. There's no no. You
- 56:52Speaker 2: like being on your tummy. I'm just gonna say stomach.
- 56:55Speaker 2: I'm not gonna say it like that. It's what it is, man,
- 56:57Speaker 2: It's also called it tummy. You like being on your ass? Yeah?
- 57:00Speaker 2: Like being on your booty yep? Right, being on these cheeks.
- 57:06Speaker 2: That's reckless. So you're you're obviously elevating.
- 57:09Speaker 1: You're doing everything possible, like there was never a doubt
- 57:12Speaker 1: that you're gonna be able to play. Obviously you're resting
- 57:14Speaker 1: and doing a lot of that ship, but at what
- 57:16Speaker 1: point are you getting on the field and and testing
- 57:18Speaker 1: this ship out?
- 57:19Speaker 2: I mean three.
- 57:21Speaker 3: Days before, like a couple of days before, like we
- 57:23Speaker 3: fly out to California.
- 57:24Speaker 2: I forget when we did you do stem cell or anything?
- 57:27Speaker 2: PRP stem Cell didn't do anything? Nope? Okay not then,
- 57:31Speaker 2: you know what I'm saying? Like that just no.
- 57:36Speaker 3: I mean I was even like, hey, can we shoot
- 57:38Speaker 3: this thing up like for the game, And they're like, nah,
- 57:39Speaker 3: that's not smart, Like we're not doing that.
- 57:41Speaker 2: And I was like, all right, well you.
- 57:42Speaker 1: Want you wanted to put toward all in your knee,
- 57:44Speaker 1: but I just asked.
- 57:46Speaker 2: I was like, hey can you nah?
- 57:48Speaker 1: I mean I will like, yeah, you're about to play
- 57:51Speaker 1: for the super Bowl, so you're willing to do whatever. Yeah,
- 57:54Speaker 1: I understand that like any other time, like people are
- 57:57Speaker 1: like it's like fucking varsity Blues trying to inject the
- 57:59Speaker 1: quarter zone and the knee and.
- 58:00Speaker 2: Everything like that.
- 58:01Speaker 3: But you're at this is it, Like you're at the
- 58:03Speaker 3: finish line. I'm like, dude, I've been dreaming. I mean,
- 58:04Speaker 3: I've been playing since I was six years old. I
- 58:06Speaker 3: grew up like I played. I played Madden with my dad.
- 58:09Speaker 3: We made a little out of a foam like pool float.
- 58:13Speaker 3: We made a super Bowl trophy. We made the Lombardy
- 58:16Speaker 3: and we would play for it. And I was like, dude,
- 58:17Speaker 3: this is like that's the only thing that was going
- 58:19Speaker 3: in my head. I was like, dude, I gotta I
- 58:20Speaker 3: gotta touch that. I fucking love that. By the way. Yeah,
- 58:23Speaker 3: So like we I was like, there's no way in
- 58:25Speaker 3: hell I'm not going to play, and so I didn't
- 58:27Speaker 3: do anything on the field. I did some stuff in
- 58:28Speaker 3: the pool a little bit, and then we fly out
- 58:30Speaker 3: to Cali and Nicko was like, all right, we're gonna
- 58:32Speaker 3: start doing some ladder stuff like see how you feel,
- 58:36Speaker 3: And dude, California is beautiful, like it's We go from
- 58:40Speaker 3: we go from getting stuck on a bus because no
- 58:42Speaker 3: indoor So we go from getting stuck on a bus
- 58:46Speaker 3: because it's snow and icing to go to our indoor facility,
- 58:49Speaker 3: which is on UC's campus.
- 58:51Speaker 2: We get stuck there.
- 58:52Speaker 3: We get stuck through four lights because the bus is
- 58:54Speaker 3: stuck on a hill.
- 58:55Speaker 2: And if we're just.
- 58:56Speaker 3: Sitting here like how the hell are we going to
- 58:58Speaker 3: the super Bowl And we're stuck on a hill going
- 59:00Speaker 3: to an indoor facility that's not like that we can't
- 59:03Speaker 3: just walk to, Like this is absurd to me, so
- 59:06Speaker 3: we're all thinking it. We go from that to California,
- 59:10Speaker 3: February eighty seven degrees out. I'm walking off the plane like, yep,
- 59:14Speaker 3: I feel fucking great. Money feels better already with this weather.
- 59:19Speaker 3: So we're doing some ladder drills and he's like, how
- 59:20Speaker 3: do you feel. I was like, ramp it up, dude,
- 59:22Speaker 3: fuck it, let's go. Let's just let's send it, see
- 59:24Speaker 3: what we can do. And he's like all right, like
- 59:26Speaker 3: you're not gonna hurt it too much more than it's
- 59:27Speaker 3: already hurt. So like you can do whatever you want
- 59:29Speaker 3: to if you can go through the pain whatever. It's like,
- 59:32Speaker 3: all right, cool. So that first day we did ladder,
- 59:35Speaker 3: change the direction, ran a couple like short routes, and
- 59:37Speaker 3: he's like, I'm gonna shut you down, like personally, I'm
- 59:39Speaker 3: gonna shut you down. Second day, he's like, how do
- 59:41Speaker 3: you feel. I'm like, yo, it's stiff. Halfway through he goes,
- 59:44Speaker 3: how do you feel now? I'm like, it's still stiff,
- 59:46Speaker 3: but like, fuck it, we can just we can push
- 59:48Speaker 3: through it. It's like all right, cool, let's go, let's
- 59:50Speaker 3: do more. And from that point on, like I practiced
- 59:53Speaker 3: probably in and out. I had maybe like three quarters
- 59:58Speaker 3: of a full practice total throughout the span of us
- 1:00:01Speaker 3: being in California and throughout those two weeks. But yeah,
- 1:00:04Speaker 3: you know, you've been, You're on, You're in chemistry, you
- 1:00:07Speaker 3: know what everyone's doing. It's the last game of the year.
- 1:00:09Speaker 3: You know everything. At this point, you're watching films. So yeah,
- 1:00:13Speaker 3: it was. But it was a fucking grind, dude, Like,
- 1:00:15Speaker 3: that's impressive though, Bro, that was fun.
- 1:00:17Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:00:18Speaker 1: And during this time, are you thinking about because you're
- 1:00:20Speaker 1: obviously in your contract year as well, are you thinking
- 1:00:23Speaker 1: about those those things? And if not, is it something
- 1:00:28Speaker 1: when you fast forward to when you're negotiating with the
- 1:00:31Speaker 1: Bengals you're probably, I would assume because one year. Obviously
- 1:00:36Speaker 1: I've never signed a big deal, but I had a
- 1:00:39Speaker 1: big deal.
- 1:00:39Speaker 2: Oh, definitely, no question. I'm not sleeping on the boy.
- 1:00:42Speaker 1: I'm just speaking from my experience right right, I played
- 1:00:45Speaker 1: on a torn PCL to try and help get us
- 1:00:48Speaker 1: to the playoffs. We end up missing the playoffs, a
- 1:00:50Speaker 1: winning game at the very end of the year, and
- 1:00:52Speaker 1: then the next year I was a restricted free agent.
- 1:00:56Speaker 1: I don't know I was exclusive rights before that because
- 1:00:58Speaker 1: I was a peace squad guy. But in my head,
- 1:01:00Speaker 1: I'm thinking I'm the captain starter. They might take care
- 1:01:03Speaker 1: of me and extend me instead of just putting a
- 1:01:05Speaker 1: tender on me, or if they put a tender on me,
- 1:01:07Speaker 1: hopefully they put like a higher round tender versus just
- 1:01:09Speaker 1: like just a low round tender. And when it doesn't happen,
- 1:01:13Speaker 1: there's part of you that's pissed off because when you're
- 1:01:15Speaker 1: trying to get back on the field, like I played
- 1:01:17Speaker 1: on the PCL within nine days, got back on day nine.
- 1:01:21Speaker 2: I was playing in the fucking game.
- 1:01:22Speaker 1: I had like two tackles, but they wanted me out
- 1:01:24Speaker 1: there to signal, call and do all that kind of thing,
- 1:01:26Speaker 1: which I was about, like, you, you're ready to fucking
- 1:01:28Speaker 1: die on the field for the boys, but being honorable
- 1:01:31Speaker 1: doesn't get you paid. When you're going through the negotiations,
- 1:01:34Speaker 1: are you thinking to yourself, like working that hard to
- 1:01:36Speaker 1: get back, especially for the Super Bowl, Like you're doing
- 1:01:39Speaker 1: whatever it takes to be out there, even though you
- 1:01:40Speaker 1: tore your MCL. Is there a bitterness that you carry
- 1:01:43Speaker 1: with like when it's like, hey, are we not are.
- 1:01:45Speaker 2: We not thinking that?
- 1:01:46Speaker 1: Like, guys, I want to be here and I'll do
- 1:01:48Speaker 1: whatever it takes to be a Bengal to have I
- 1:01:49Speaker 1: not shown that these past seven years and definitely in recency,
- 1:01:54Speaker 1: like trying to get back to the Super Bowl, Like
- 1:01:56Speaker 1: are you thinking about those things?
- 1:01:57Speaker 2: I mean at the time, definitely not right.
- 1:02:00Speaker 3: I'm at the time my agent had been like, hey, like,
- 1:02:02Speaker 3: don't kill yourself out.
- 1:02:04Speaker 2: Your age is probably trying to talk you out of playing.
- 1:02:06Speaker 2: Like hey, he didn't fell like. He was just like good.
- 1:02:08Speaker 1: But usually they're like, don't do it, don't don't play injured,
- 1:02:11Speaker 1: don't ever play injured.
- 1:02:12Speaker 2: In the players, I was like, fuck it, like we're
- 1:02:14Speaker 2: we're trying to win games.
- 1:02:15Speaker 3: He was more like, And to be honest, I didn't
- 1:02:18Speaker 3: know how much I was. I didn't think I was
- 1:02:19Speaker 3: going to play the whole game. I thought I was
- 1:02:21Speaker 3: gonna be like situational, like fifteen twenty plays, I'm out
- 1:02:24Speaker 3: there for the first play. Because I was like, all right,
- 1:02:26Speaker 3: nice whatever, and coaches like my position, coach is like
- 1:02:29Speaker 3: you're good, and I was like yeah, I'm good, and
- 1:02:31Speaker 3: he just kept he was like, yeah.
- 1:02:32Speaker 1: I'm good, but also take care of me, like pull
- 1:02:34Speaker 1: me back when you think I need to be pulled leg.
- 1:02:37Speaker 3: But like, first half good, second half, forty five minute halftime,
- 1:02:41Speaker 3: it's like, holy, like I really if it's hell now
- 1:02:45Speaker 3: is tough. But yeah, I mean at the time, I'm
- 1:02:48Speaker 3: not thinking of anything, dude, I'm just like, yeah.
- 1:02:49Speaker 1: I'm fast forward to the negotiation period. Are you everything
- 1:02:52Speaker 1: not like that? That's that's you thinking like you guys
- 1:02:55Speaker 1: should be taking care of me because I did X,
- 1:02:56Speaker 1: Y and Z, but you're thinking.
- 1:02:57Speaker 2: Like are we not?
- 1:02:59Speaker 1: Is there appreciation and fucking it seems like you guys
- 1:03:02Speaker 1: are just slapping me in the face for everything I'm
- 1:03:04Speaker 1: trying to do to play right, which.
- 1:03:05Speaker 3: Is why like in my head, I'm like like, are
- 1:03:08Speaker 3: you gonna throw me a bone? Like are you gonna
- 1:03:10Speaker 3: like are you gonna like, are you gonna show a
- 1:03:12Speaker 3: little appreciation with with the fact that I was like, dude,
- 1:03:15Speaker 3: like screw this, screw the contracts, threw everything.
- 1:03:17Speaker 2: I'm trying to make sure.
- 1:03:18Speaker 3: I'm out there with the boys to win a Super
- 1:03:20Speaker 3: Bowl and bring that to the organization in the franchise
- 1:03:22Speaker 3: and like you know, everything that the city has been
- 1:03:25Speaker 3: like gassing us up for So yeah, one hundred percent,
- 1:03:28Speaker 3: like that is that is definitely going on in my
- 1:03:31Speaker 3: mind the entire time.
- 1:03:32Speaker 1: Yeah, even the first which is fair, like that's the
- 1:03:34Speaker 1: human being, the competitor, like the loyalty all that ands,
- 1:03:37Speaker 1: which sucks because you got to remove that when it
- 1:03:39Speaker 1: comes to negotiating. But at the same time, you're like, man, like,
- 1:03:42Speaker 1: that's not coming from a place of like I feel
- 1:03:44Speaker 1: entitled and I should I deserve this, and I you
- 1:03:46Speaker 1: better give me this or you guys are fucking stupid.
- 1:03:49Speaker 2: It's just like, damn, like, this is how it's going
- 1:03:51Speaker 2: down right a bone at all.
- 1:03:53Speaker 3: Right, which is then then that takes that which helps
- 1:03:56Speaker 3: take the emotional aspect of it out because you're like, damn,
- 1:03:58Speaker 3: this is actually just cutthroat business.
- 1:04:00Speaker 2: Right, it numbs you up, yeah, like real real quick.
- 1:04:04Speaker 3: So again, which makes it a little bit easier just
- 1:04:07Speaker 3: to be like all right, like agent says, hey, just
- 1:04:10Speaker 3: then you know this is how it is.
- 1:04:12Speaker 2: Cool.
- 1:04:12Speaker 3: I can see that. I can clearly see that that's
- 1:04:14Speaker 3: how it's going to be.
- 1:04:15Speaker 2: Nick's probably texting you what are you hearing? It's not good? Nick,
- 1:04:18Speaker 2: it's like you're looking.
- 1:04:19Speaker 3: Good, buddy, Hell do he look and we'll take we'll
- 1:04:22Speaker 3: take a trip together.
- 1:04:23Speaker 2: Good.
- 1:04:23Speaker 1: Yeah, talk about the talk about the Super Bowl, Like,
- 1:04:28Speaker 1: are there situations that you look back on there where
- 1:04:30Speaker 1: there's like pivotal moments or things could have shaped out
- 1:04:32Speaker 1: this way? They're obviously you play that in your head
- 1:04:34Speaker 1: no matter what. But I mean, this is the first
- 1:04:37Speaker 1: off season removed from that Super Bowl. Are the things
- 1:04:39Speaker 1: that looks back like, Damn, we win it if we
- 1:04:41Speaker 1: do X, Y and Z right here in this moment.
- 1:04:43Speaker 1: Because every player lives in their own movie. Man, if
- 1:04:45Speaker 1: I would have done this or had this play shaped
- 1:04:48Speaker 1: out the way we drawn it up or executed the
- 1:04:51Speaker 1: right way, like we went off this game.
- 1:04:52Speaker 2: Like talk us, talk to us about the super Bowl.
- 1:04:54Speaker 1: We're sitting around the fire, fucking Grandpa's talking to the boys.
- 1:04:57Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:04:58Speaker 3: I mean, I'm I'm thinking about it just from my person,
- 1:05:00Speaker 3: you know, like I don't know, like certain things like
- 1:05:04Speaker 3: playing playing with my knee and stuff, and like I
- 1:05:06Speaker 3: caught two passes.
- 1:05:07Speaker 2: They were like it was for nothing. It was like
- 1:05:09Speaker 2: a couple of yards whatever, And I'm.
- 1:05:10Speaker 3: Just thinking, damn, like really I should have I should
- 1:05:13Speaker 3: have made a little fucking corner miss, and then I
- 1:05:15Speaker 3: would have been one on one with the defensive end
- 1:05:17Speaker 3: if I just don't get touched by him for a
- 1:05:19Speaker 3: second and stopped and we're on like the twenty yard
- 1:05:22Speaker 3: line at that point, It's like, all right, cool, I
- 1:05:23Speaker 3: made I like shoved this little ass dB off me,
- 1:05:26Speaker 3: and it's a foot race to the end zone. In
- 1:05:28Speaker 3: my mind, to score as opposed to taking a field
- 1:05:31Speaker 3: goal changed the game.
- 1:05:33Speaker 4: Uh.
- 1:05:34Speaker 3: You got certain like yeah, certain like blocks that you're like, damn, Like, man,
- 1:05:38Speaker 3: he was kind of in the hole, like the running
- 1:05:39Speaker 3: back really could have just ran off my ash just then,
- 1:05:42Speaker 3: But like did I did?
- 1:05:43Speaker 2: I blocked the hole? I did?
- 1:05:45Speaker 3: So I think of it from that perspective more so
- 1:05:47Speaker 3: than like anybody like saying like oh wow, this one player,
- 1:05:51Speaker 3: like if we would have done this one a little
- 1:05:53Speaker 3: bit different whatever, Like.
- 1:05:55Speaker 1: Was this sickening knowing that Jamar Chase was wide open
- 1:05:57Speaker 1: on that last play?
- 1:05:59Speaker 2: Yeah, sickening for sure. I mean it. Yeah, you think
- 1:06:06Speaker 2: about that too sometimes, Yeah, Like that's what a game though?
- 1:06:10Speaker 1: When like OBJ goes down, are you guys thinking like
- 1:06:13Speaker 1: all right, like when you guys are about to play the.
- 1:06:15Speaker 2: Rams, you want to go get it, Taylor.
- 1:06:19Speaker 1: Maybe hopefully, as he texted the group chat, well then it.
- 1:06:24Speaker 2: Might not be him. What was I saying? So OBJ
- 1:06:30Speaker 2: goes down?
- 1:06:31Speaker 1: Oh yeah, yeah, like when you're about to play the Rams,
- 1:06:33Speaker 1: Like obviously they're clicking as well, they're at the super
- 1:06:35Speaker 1: they're in the super Bowl, they're fucking obviously we we bloss.
- 1:06:39Speaker 1: He's not here, but he's a huge forty nine Ers fan.
- 1:06:40Speaker 1: We're like, blast so that safety doesn't drop that pick.
- 1:06:42Speaker 1: Niners are going, yeah, but are there? Oh Steve Burns
- 1:06:52Speaker 1: here our next guest? Fuck I keep losing? Oh oh
- 1:06:58Speaker 1: I keep Obj. But like you know, as a as
- 1:07:01Speaker 1: a player, like the human element of all the pieces
- 1:07:03Speaker 1: that they that they have because they have a lot
- 1:07:04Speaker 1: of fucking caroling on their team. Oh yeah, obviously picking
- 1:07:07Speaker 1: up von Miller late in the year, Obj middle this season,
- 1:07:10Speaker 1: But when Obj goes down is one of those things
- 1:07:12Speaker 1: to where you're like, hey, we can get this even
- 1:07:15Speaker 1: more because one of their best players go down.
- 1:07:17Speaker 2: Dude. It was actually, that's not even like the thought process.
- 1:07:20Speaker 3: The thought process was we knew, like we knew that
- 1:07:23Speaker 3: the field felt kind of weird, right, like the paint,
- 1:07:27Speaker 3: the paint they had to keep going over it in
- 1:07:28Speaker 3: the middle of the field really, and so we kind
- 1:07:31Speaker 3: of as a team like offensively, we were like, hey,
- 1:07:33Speaker 3: like that's the spot. You got to like control yourself,
- 1:07:35Speaker 3: like you got to be way more controlled, don't run
- 1:07:37Speaker 3: too full speed, like, oh for real, that's what that's
- 1:07:40Speaker 3: what That's what we talked about. That's what I told
- 1:07:42Speaker 3: the tight ends immediately. That's what the tight end coach
- 1:07:44Speaker 3: told us immediately. That's kind of what we told some
- 1:07:46Speaker 3: of the receivers like, hey, just don't even know, like
- 1:07:49Speaker 3: that's spout of the field's a little fucking weird, Like
- 1:07:51Speaker 3: the paint is.
- 1:07:52Speaker 2: It's the spot where OBJ towards me.
- 1:07:54Speaker 3: Just the paint in the middle of the field in
- 1:07:55Speaker 3: general was it was a little it was a little
- 1:07:58Speaker 3: it was just different, you know what I'm saying. So
- 1:07:59Speaker 3: it's a little more because they put a little bit
- 1:08:01Speaker 3: too much, not too much, but they just put a
- 1:08:02Speaker 3: little more paint there. So we didn't personally, I didn't think,
- 1:08:07Speaker 3: damn nice, this is our shot, Like it was like, boy,
- 1:08:11Speaker 3: be the fuck be careful like in that spot because
- 1:08:13Speaker 3: that's where because we couldn't walk there for the team
- 1:08:15Speaker 3: pictures because they were still going over it during team
- 1:08:18Speaker 3: pictures the day before, and so that's the only thing
- 1:08:20Speaker 3: that was on my mind was if I'm around this area,
- 1:08:22Speaker 3: especially with my knee, like I gotta I got a tempo.
- 1:08:25Speaker 2: Damn that sucks to here.
- 1:08:27Speaker 1: Yeah, Like that's like yeah, especially if that's where him
- 1:08:31Speaker 1: doing it there too, Like that sucks.
- 1:08:32Speaker 2: That sucks that. That was like a thing. Yeah, have
- 1:08:34Speaker 2: you played in London? Yeah? I feel like London is uh,
- 1:08:38Speaker 2: it's got a little slickness to it.
- 1:08:39Speaker 3: Yeah, but I'm biased. I love London, dude. I'm a
- 1:08:43Speaker 3: big soccer guy. So like, oh, that was historic. That's historic.
- 1:08:47Speaker 3: I was going crazy.
- 1:08:48Speaker 2: I hated having the whole fly over there thing. Did
- 1:08:51Speaker 2: you guys play over on Thursday or did you spend
- 1:08:52Speaker 2: a week over this day doing rutal fucked?
- 1:08:55Speaker 3: Did you guys? Wait, did you do anything the night before?
- 1:08:57Speaker 3: Like did you have a team activity or something?
- 1:08:59Speaker 1: I don't think so. I just remember I was trying
- 1:09:01Speaker 1: to catch up on sleep and shit like that.
- 1:09:03Speaker 3: The first time we went over there, we had a
- 1:09:05Speaker 3: team activity on London Tower Bridge.
- 1:09:07Speaker 2: You don't have much, know, we had nothing like that.
- 1:09:09Speaker 2: We did.
- 1:09:09Speaker 3: You don't have a police escort. We were in the
- 1:09:11Speaker 3: car for like two and a half hours. We got
- 1:09:13Speaker 3: there for thirty minutes and they're like, damn, yeah, we
- 1:09:15Speaker 3: didn't we didn't think this went through. We gotta go back. Oh,
- 1:09:18Speaker 3: I'm like, what the hell are we doing out here?
- 1:09:20Speaker 1: Because our practice feels like we had the bus for
- 1:09:22Speaker 1: I felt like quite a bit to go over this
- 1:09:23Speaker 1: little like middle school baseball field that we practiced on.
- 1:09:27Speaker 2: Yeah, brutal, Yeah we did that. So yeah, when you land,
- 1:09:30Speaker 2: like your sleep is that night, Like as you're on
- 1:09:32Speaker 2: the plane, you're supposed to be your sleep, dudes are
- 1:09:35Speaker 2: popping like the sleeping fields. What is the ambience meloton?
- 1:09:39Speaker 1: Yeah, well I'm not talking the natural meloton and I'm
- 1:09:41Speaker 1: talking Yeah, we gotta go out. Oh yeah, yeah, we
- 1:09:44Speaker 1: gotta go out. And then you land and it's Friday morning, right,
- 1:09:47Speaker 1: so fast Friday begins when you get all your stuff
- 1:09:49Speaker 1: at the hotel. Brutal. It's a brutal experience, dude. Then
- 1:09:52Speaker 1: you fly back right after the game. We played the
- 1:09:54Speaker 1: Bengals and we fucking tied.
- 1:09:56Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:09:56Speaker 3: When I was on Washington, Yeah, that was that's the team.
- 1:09:59Speaker 3: That's the time I'm talking about. That's the time when
- 1:10:01Speaker 3: we were there. You were there oh fuck.
- 1:10:04Speaker 2: Yeah. That's when I'm like, yo, we had a we
- 1:10:06Speaker 2: had a word. What was that game? Don't to go
- 1:10:10Speaker 2: back and forth? And hey, we got the ball out
- 1:10:12Speaker 2: on Andy.
- 1:10:13Speaker 3: Wind Listen, we're over here too. And everyone knows I'm
- 1:10:17Speaker 3: a huge soccer fan. Everyone knows I'm a huge soccer fan.
- 1:10:23Speaker 3: And I'm like, I'm like, I can't believe we came
- 1:10:25Speaker 3: over here and hide and and everyone's like, yeah, these
- 1:10:27Speaker 3: these British people, they are used to this ship. They
- 1:10:29Speaker 3: watched soccer all the time. They're used to zero zero, one, one,
- 1:10:32Speaker 3: two two. That doesn't mean ship to them. That means
- 1:10:34Speaker 3: something else. I was like, no, this ship still sucks.
- 1:10:36Speaker 3: Like you didn't know how to celebrate.
- 1:10:38Speaker 1: Yeah, you kind of feel like you won, but then
- 1:10:40Speaker 1: you see the kicker and you're like, hey, man, it's
- 1:10:42Speaker 1: all good because the kickers are basically missed.
- 1:10:43Speaker 2: So I guess you guys turned it over. Did your
- 1:10:45Speaker 2: kicker get a shot? No, we had that turnover?
- 1:10:48Speaker 1: Yeah, bros, nuts man, And you don't know how to feel.
- 1:10:51Speaker 2: You're like, are we going to party on the plane
- 1:10:52Speaker 2: ride back? Or people still party? I didn't. I was like,
- 1:10:55Speaker 2: I was like, dude, I'm just everybody still part I
- 1:10:57Speaker 2: didn't party either, but everybody partied on the way back.
- 1:11:00Speaker 2: I didn't party. No, No, I don't drink.
- 1:11:05Speaker 3: Definitely don't remember too much of the plane.
- 1:11:09Speaker 2: Is there anything I'm not hitting on? Boys? Super Bowl?
- 1:11:12Speaker 4: OK?
- 1:11:14Speaker 2: Can we talk about that? It's all right now. There
- 1:11:18Speaker 2: are some there were some storylines out there, can I
- 1:11:22Speaker 2: can I you and k Adams? Yeah, one of the
- 1:11:25Speaker 2: hosts of Hang On, Let Me Ball, she's just duch.
- 1:11:30Speaker 2: She's for the boys. We're a big fan of k
- 1:11:32Speaker 2: Adams over here. But there were obviously some tabloids going around,
- 1:11:35Speaker 2: you know, the magazines of Walmart, showing that you know,
- 1:11:38Speaker 2: you and k Adams were a thing. Seems like you're
- 1:11:41Speaker 2: both very private about your dating life, so there was
- 1:11:44Speaker 2: never any truth to be brought from it. However, were
- 1:11:49Speaker 2: you dating Adams? No? No, I wasn't.
- 1:11:50Speaker 3: And I am relatively private about like, like I like
- 1:11:54Speaker 3: being private about my stuff, especially like honestly, especially now
- 1:11:57Speaker 3: being in New York. It's reckless, like people like if
- 1:11:59Speaker 3: some one I was talking to some of the Mets
- 1:12:01Speaker 3: players and like, hey, like my girl like kind of
- 1:12:04Speaker 3: deletes her or like goes private and does all this
- 1:12:07Speaker 3: random shit because she will just get blown up by people.
- 1:12:11Speaker 3: I'm like, all right, that's good to know. Good, like
- 1:12:13Speaker 3: even if you're not doing anything. It's like, oh no,
- 1:12:14Speaker 3: like i've been. It's just like his name's Pete Alonso, Pete,
- 1:12:17Speaker 3: I fucking love you. And he was just like, hey,
- 1:12:19Speaker 3: I'm gonna be honest. I've been with my girl since
- 1:12:21Speaker 3: high school. And she still gets blown up. She knows
- 1:12:23Speaker 3: I'm with her that night, and she's getting blown up.
- 1:12:25Speaker 2: Like about him playing in the game.
- 1:12:27Speaker 3: No, just like him like, oh yeah, I was with
- 1:12:29Speaker 3: Pete last night, blah blah blah, and she's like what
- 1:12:31Speaker 3: the fuck, what the hell, Who the hell even is this?
- 1:12:33Speaker 2: Like I was with you last night?
- 1:12:34Speaker 3: Like yeah, so I'm private in that regard thankfully. But
- 1:12:40Speaker 3: I'm like then something comes out and they're like, oh shit,
- 1:12:42Speaker 3: is this true? And I don't want to say anything
- 1:12:44Speaker 3: because I'm like, dude, I'm private. I'm not trying to
- 1:12:45Speaker 3: like say whatever. But no, like we were, we were homies,
- 1:12:49Speaker 3: like good people like you said, she for the boys,
- 1:12:51Speaker 3: she's a good person. She's awesome being on like Good
- 1:12:54Speaker 3: Morning Football. I was like, oh, this is dope. Whatever,
- 1:12:56Speaker 3: But now we were not we were not dating.
- 1:13:02Speaker 2: I'm not gonna. I'm not gonna. We were not. We
- 1:13:07Speaker 2: were not, we were not. Just getting my hand out there.
- 1:13:09Speaker 2: I know that sound. It's gonna look from you JV.
- 1:13:13Speaker 3: Then you're gonna put me like drinking this water bottle
- 1:13:16Speaker 3: right here in his hand. You're gonna like photoshop his
- 1:13:18Speaker 3: hand there so it looks like I'm doing it. Yeah,
- 1:13:20Speaker 3: shut her up and touch his fingers. Should we get
- 1:13:23Speaker 3: into tear talk? It's a fun one. We came up
- 1:13:25Speaker 3: with this one. The boys came up with this one yesterday.
- 1:13:27Speaker 1: So our tear talk this week is going to be
- 1:13:30Speaker 1: best grades in school growing up, kindergarten, k through or
- 1:13:35Speaker 1: I mean, if you remember the preschool days, you want
- 1:13:37Speaker 1: to throw preschool shout out, preschool through grade twelve. That
- 1:13:40Speaker 1: is what our tear talk's gonna be, tearing them one
- 1:13:42Speaker 1: through three, your top three your favorite grades growing up?
- 1:13:48Speaker 2: Do you want to go first? Or do we make
- 1:13:49Speaker 2: the back of the bus go first?
- 1:13:50Speaker 3: We make the back of the bus go first, for sure.
- 1:13:54Speaker 2: Is a collective effort? For like, how we collective? Do
- 1:13:57Speaker 2: you do? We usually do collective efforts only one at once.
- 1:14:01Speaker 4: Usually it's just a guest and will who do the
- 1:14:02Speaker 4: tier talks? And we'll just shout outs.
- 1:14:04Speaker 2: But I mean we can. I think we can rattle
- 1:14:08Speaker 2: off like.
- 1:14:08Speaker 4: A tier three pretty easily, at least for me. We
- 1:14:11Speaker 4: all might have different yeah, I mean, go ahead, Like.
- 1:14:13Speaker 1: JP might have got bullied in certain grades, so he
- 1:14:16Speaker 1: might not remember him the right way.
- 1:14:19Speaker 2: Check the tape.
- 1:14:19Speaker 5: I was prom king, Oh, sh senior year, my so
- 1:14:26Speaker 5: my favorite. Were we all just going to say our favorite,
- 1:14:28Speaker 5: We're going to give you three? Ye oh yeah, right,
- 1:14:32Speaker 5: our favorite? Fifth grade?
- 1:14:33Speaker 2: For sure? I was peaking athletically.
- 1:14:36Speaker 5: We had the fastest mile time, fastest pacer test, or
- 1:14:39Speaker 5: most laps on the pacer test, fastest swimmer in the
- 1:14:42Speaker 5: county in twenty five meters freestyle. I made a half
- 1:14:46Speaker 5: court shot at a high school basketball game at halftime
- 1:14:49Speaker 5: and everybody was going crazy and I let.
- 1:14:53Speaker 2: And the coach came up to me. He's like, can't
- 1:14:55Speaker 2: wait till you're in high school? Man. Hey. I was like,
- 1:14:58Speaker 2: oh my guys, I'm rap.
- 1:15:01Speaker 1: Which that's real though, bro, Like that's part of one
- 1:15:03Speaker 1: of my descriptions, Like, but that is fucking real, sir.
- 1:15:05Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:15:06Speaker 4: So fifth grade for me, okay, obviously honorable mentioned. Senior
- 1:15:10Speaker 4: year is great for everyone. But if you senior years.
- 1:15:13Speaker 4: Number one, you just had a shitty upbringing in high
- 1:15:16Speaker 4: school means that you had to wait till your last
- 1:15:18Speaker 4: year already.
- 1:15:20Speaker 3: You should you should have said that I was hoping.
- 1:15:24Speaker 4: So for me, it's freshman year of high school. You
- 1:15:27Speaker 4: just love middle school and you were the top dog
- 1:15:29Speaker 4: and now you're the lowest on the totem pole. You
- 1:15:31Speaker 4: thought you were cool and you were like truly dog shit.
- 1:15:34Speaker 2: To everyone that walks the halls.
- 1:15:35Speaker 4: But if you were special like myself, you might have
- 1:15:39Speaker 4: been friends with a couple of upper upper classmens juniors
- 1:15:41Speaker 4: and the seniors I you know, start running around with
- 1:15:44Speaker 4: you start tapping up some of the homies in the hallway.
- 1:15:46Speaker 2: You think you're cool.
- 1:15:47Speaker 4: But I remember my sister she rated on me to
- 1:15:50Speaker 4: my mom freshman year and she was like, Jack cannot
- 1:15:53Speaker 4: be hanging out with kids in my grade anymore. She's like,
- 1:15:56Speaker 4: like they're starting to like him more than me, and
- 1:15:58Speaker 4: like I'm like, hey, like I don't don't know what
- 1:16:00Speaker 4: to tell you, like, and I was I was a
- 1:16:02Speaker 4: like short, little fat kid freshman year, so it was
- 1:16:05Speaker 4: like it was it was an adversity battle all uphill.
- 1:16:08Speaker 4: But for me freshman year, there's so much potential and
- 1:16:11Speaker 4: like opportunity for growth. You really don't have too much
- 1:16:14Speaker 4: going on. It's easy classes and yeah, the whole change
- 1:16:18Speaker 4: of scenery. So freshman year's tier one.
- 1:16:20Speaker 2: So you've you've been in the Cougars off rip, you've
- 1:16:22Speaker 2: always been.
- 1:16:27Speaker 7: What do you got, Garrett, I'm gonna go with Sophomore
- 1:16:33Speaker 7: year for some of the same reasons. Hanging out with
- 1:16:35Speaker 7: the older guys on our lacrosse team that used to
- 1:16:39Speaker 7: just take me around all the time to all the parties.
- 1:16:42Speaker 7: So that's always fun when you're a young dude. And
- 1:16:44Speaker 7: sophomore year because that's usually when you get your driver's license.
- 1:16:48Speaker 7: And so is that from it's that first time, like
- 1:16:51Speaker 7: like you freshman year's your guys descriptions because like, oh damn,
- 1:16:56Speaker 7: here's the senior year.
- 1:16:57Speaker 1: It's okay, No, I'm talking about you're right about sophomore
- 1:16:59Speaker 1: year and you get your driver's license.
- 1:17:01Speaker 7: Yeah, because you you you're still young. But then you
- 1:17:04Speaker 7: get that little bit of like I'm free, Like I
- 1:17:07Speaker 7: can just drive myself places now now you can like
- 1:17:11Speaker 7: pile in your homies to drive places. So I think
- 1:17:13Speaker 7: sophomore year for me was like that one year where
- 1:17:15Speaker 7: you're like, all right, let's get it.
- 1:17:17Speaker 2: That's big time. Yeah.
- 1:17:18Speaker 1: So you guys just saying your tier ones.
- 1:17:22Speaker 2: Yeah this freshman sophomore. I like those picks. Boys. I
- 1:17:28Speaker 2: do think that's very good. I think you guys are
- 1:17:30Speaker 2: very fucking good. All right, c J, I'm in. I'm
- 1:17:34Speaker 2: in Sara's seats. So I'm gonna go last. No no no, no,
- 1:17:36Speaker 2: no your first. No no no no, you're you you
- 1:17:41Speaker 2: go first.
- 1:17:42Speaker 1: Actually, if Taylor is on today, I was gonna make
- 1:17:43Speaker 1: the case that I believe I should go last because
- 1:17:46Speaker 1: I feel like the record recently is displayed that I've
- 1:17:48Speaker 1: earned the spot, the right to go last.
- 1:17:51Speaker 3: I mean, I usually you all say like guests is right,
- 1:17:54Speaker 3: but that's fine. Yeah, I'll go first. I like, I like,
- 1:17:58Speaker 3: I like what I like the first. Yes, as usually
- 1:18:02Speaker 3: go first. And it was a toss up for me,
- 1:18:06Speaker 3: it really was. It was between for tier one. It
- 1:18:08Speaker 3: was between start with tier three, start with your three.
- 1:18:11Speaker 2: You build it up, build it up, and if you
- 1:18:14Speaker 2: if you've listened, so if you get crafty, you can
- 1:18:16Speaker 2: throw in a little well. My honorable mention is pre
- 1:18:19Speaker 2: k nap time. Oh so you have a pre k
- 1:18:23Speaker 2: honorable mention.
- 1:18:24Speaker 3: I love that always pre K nap time was goaded
- 1:18:27Speaker 3: like and I remember it. I remember just being like,
- 1:18:29Speaker 3: oh nice, Like on the playground, you're running around, you're
- 1:18:32Speaker 3: going crazy. You get back in, you got your nap time.
- 1:18:35Speaker 3: That nap time was I mean electric, like that's what more.
- 1:18:40Speaker 3: Right now we're in practice, right, we have the craziest
- 1:18:44Speaker 3: we go through camp. Coach says, you know what, no meetings,
- 1:18:46Speaker 3: nap time.
- 1:18:48Speaker 1: I'm gonna be honest. Nat time was a nightmare for
- 1:18:50Speaker 1: me because I went to bench. I was a teenager,
- 1:18:52Speaker 1: so anytime I fell asleep, it was like Freddy Krueger's
- 1:18:55Speaker 1: coming for me. And I'd wake up with a soaked cot, you.
- 1:18:58Speaker 5: Know what I mean.
- 1:18:58Speaker 2: And the first I'm trying.
- 1:19:01Speaker 1: To blame the kid next to me or figure out
- 1:19:02Speaker 1: how I get out of this situation. So pre K like,
- 1:19:05Speaker 1: you know, naptime was always like I was staying over
- 1:19:07Speaker 1: friends houses, like there was there's some chess being played.
- 1:19:10Speaker 1: As I went over there, I would have the doctor
- 1:19:13Speaker 1: told my mom that I had to stop drinking kool
- 1:19:15Speaker 1: aid by seven pm.
- 1:19:16Speaker 2: Stop drinking kool aid in general, then just drink water
- 1:19:19Speaker 2: or something.
- 1:19:19Speaker 1: Well, stop drinking liquid like the liquid like there was
- 1:19:22Speaker 1: no water when you're a young kid.
- 1:19:23Speaker 2: It's like, give me some kol aid. That's facts, like
- 1:19:24Speaker 2: water was boring. You're not about like water tastes shitty
- 1:19:27Speaker 2: when you're a little kid.
- 1:19:28Speaker 3: We keep going with my tears, but I just want
- 1:19:30Speaker 3: to say that whatever your tier list is, if it
- 1:19:32Speaker 3: is a grade that's under thirteen, like under the age
- 1:19:35Speaker 3: of being thirteen, I'm gonna judge you a little bit
- 1:19:37Speaker 3: because I'm gonna be like, damn, like it's a good
- 1:19:40Speaker 3: year for you still in bed a little.
- 1:19:42Speaker 2: Bit, like that's tough. I still have some prime years.
- 1:19:44Speaker 2: That's fine.
- 1:19:45Speaker 3: So tier three we're gonna go one year after pre
- 1:19:50Speaker 3: k kindergarten. Misshead a Summer loved the class thought I was.
- 1:19:55Speaker 3: I thought I was the coolest person ever had. Wait,
- 1:19:57Speaker 3: what grade is this kindergarten? You're going pre kindergarten for
- 1:20:00Speaker 3: two three and two No, no, no, no, oh, venerable mention undergarden
- 1:20:06Speaker 3: Tier three. And it's because it's a multi suit of things.
- 1:20:09Speaker 3: But I thought I was the coolest person because in
- 1:20:12Speaker 3: the classroom I had two girlfriends. I had Rebecca and Madison.
- 1:20:19Speaker 3: I remember all my teachers' names through and through. Miss
- 1:20:22Speaker 3: had a Simmer coolest teacher. She was friends with my
- 1:20:25Speaker 3: mom because my mom's a teacher, and in class I
- 1:20:28Speaker 3: could kind of just do whatever I wanted to, essentially
- 1:20:30Speaker 3: right like, and it was you have popcorn reading, and
- 1:20:34Speaker 3: it would be like, popcorn, Rebecca, Rebecca, what popcorned me?
- 1:20:37Speaker 3: Popcorn Madison? Madison would popcorned me. I'd be like, damn, I'm.
- 1:20:41Speaker 2: Just getting tagged.
- 1:20:43Speaker 3: I'm getting hey, look you see what's going on. And
- 1:20:46Speaker 3: then Miss had Some would be like, okay, you have
- 1:20:47Speaker 3: to popcorn someone else? All right, popcorn DJ. This other kid,
- 1:20:51Speaker 3: DJ was in my class. He would pop point it
- 1:20:53Speaker 3: back to me. I'd be like, all right, cool, we
- 1:20:54Speaker 3: did it. We're back, We're back.
- 1:20:55Speaker 2: On what we're doing.
- 1:20:56Speaker 3: So I thought I was hot ship man. It was kindergarten.
- 1:20:59Speaker 3: The Rebecca I had an older sister. She was in
- 1:21:01Speaker 3: fifth grade. I'd be like, hey, how are you doing.
- 1:21:03Speaker 3: Her name was Kayla. I was like, hey, how you doing, Kayla?
- 1:21:06Speaker 2: People like, oh my god, he's talking to a fifth grader. Boom.
- 1:21:08Speaker 8: Tier three kindergarten. Collen was easy, all right, Tier two,
- 1:21:14Speaker 8: I love that story time. By the way, this guy.
- 1:21:21Speaker 3: Here two staying in elementary school, going fifth grade. Fifth
- 1:21:26Speaker 3: grade that was a great I mean fifth grade was amazing.
- 1:21:29Speaker 2: Fifth grade is a really good time.
- 1:21:31Speaker 3: So I actually changed schools in fifth grade and I
- 1:21:36Speaker 3: went to mckendrew or I went to I went to
- 1:21:40Speaker 3: another school where my mom teaches. Now we're taught and
- 1:21:46Speaker 3: at the time, like she's a she's a teacher or whatever.
- 1:21:48Speaker 3: I'm in fifth grade like oh wow, Like who are
- 1:21:50Speaker 3: you gonna get for a teacher, Like you're gonna get
- 1:21:52Speaker 3: the best teacher. If your mom's a teacher, you're gonna
- 1:21:53Speaker 3: get the best teacher out of school. And so I
- 1:21:56Speaker 3: had Miss Thompson. Miss Thompson like my favorite teacher to
- 1:22:00Speaker 3: this to this day. She was awesome. I was a
- 1:22:02Speaker 3: little shit. I talked a lot. There's there are certain
- 1:22:05Speaker 3: times where she would put me in this little like
- 1:22:07Speaker 3: spot that had a cubby in it whatever. But like
- 1:22:09Speaker 3: after hours, it was me Tanner and Tyler who their
- 1:22:12Speaker 3: mom their mom was also a teacher down the hall
- 1:22:15Speaker 3: from my mom, and we would just like we would
- 1:22:17Speaker 3: just do whatever whatever the hell we wanted to in
- 1:22:19Speaker 3: the school. We're going to the cafeteria. We had this
- 1:22:21Speaker 3: little ball that we would play with me throw it
- 1:22:23Speaker 3: that shit like break some ship. There's flags that hang
- 1:22:25Speaker 3: down in the cafeteria of all the countries. We'd be
- 1:22:27Speaker 3: like messing with those, switching them around like we were
- 1:22:30Speaker 3: absolute menaces. I was in the UH. I was in
- 1:22:34Speaker 3: the play. I was the lead and humpty dumpty. I
- 1:22:36Speaker 3: was great. You could pull this picture. I'll send you
- 1:22:39Speaker 3: boys a picture so you can.
- 1:22:42Speaker 2: It's the lead and humpty dumpty.
- 1:22:44Speaker 3: No, come on, I was going crazy. It was it
- 1:22:46Speaker 3: was fifth grade solid. I mean, that wasn't peak, but
- 1:22:50Speaker 3: that was close. That was as close to peak as
- 1:22:52Speaker 3: you can get. So that's Tier two, Tier number one.
- 1:22:58Speaker 3: It got taken already. It's okay, but.
- 1:23:03Speaker 2: I'm gonna go with g on this one. Tier one.
- 1:23:06Speaker 3: Sophomore year of high school, absolutely electric. One of the
- 1:23:12Speaker 3: most memorable times of my life. Started getting offers for
- 1:23:18Speaker 3: for college there, started playing in varsity UH as a
- 1:23:23Speaker 3: receiver at the time, got my license, didn't even use
- 1:23:27Speaker 3: my license for the most part, because I had a
- 1:23:29Speaker 3: senior take me to class or take me to school
- 1:23:31Speaker 3: every day.
- 1:23:32Speaker 2: Senior senior girl. I know, if you're gonna say like
- 1:23:38Speaker 2: team she was, she was. She was captain of the
- 1:23:39Speaker 2: basketball team. But she was my homie. So I met.
- 1:23:43Speaker 3: She was like an actual, like really good friend. So
- 1:23:45Speaker 3: I met my prom date. Yep, I'll give you that.
- 1:23:50Speaker 3: I met my prom date sophomore year through her, who
- 1:23:53Speaker 3: was a volleyball player who went to Wake Forest six two.
- 1:23:57Speaker 2: I'm sophomore year.
- 1:23:59Speaker 3: I'm still six five six whatever, Like I'm still the
- 1:24:02Speaker 3: same size. So you see two big ass people coming
- 1:24:06Speaker 3: to prom me, and I was one of two sophomores
- 1:24:09Speaker 3: that went.
- 1:24:09Speaker 2: To our problem fire.
- 1:24:12Speaker 3: Come on. I was like, damn, this is sick. I
- 1:24:15Speaker 3: come in with Megan. I'm like, damn, you see our
- 1:24:17Speaker 3: tall asses out here. We're avatars. You see what's going on.
- 1:24:21Speaker 3: It was, I mean it was go to the playoffs,
- 1:24:23Speaker 3: go deep in the playoffs, scoring the playoffs, like starting.
- 1:24:27Speaker 2: I mean it was just sophomore year. Sophomore year is
- 1:24:31Speaker 2: a good one.
- 1:24:32Speaker 1: Yeah, And I'm sitting here listening to you guys talking like, man,
- 1:24:34Speaker 1: I enjoyed my life growing up right, Like life was fun,
- 1:24:38Speaker 1: life was good. It's it's actually hard to choose out
- 1:24:40Speaker 1: of these honorable mention. I'm with Jack on this one.
- 1:24:46Speaker 1: Like I think everybody enjoyed their senior year. My senior year,
- 1:24:49Speaker 1: like senior year was fucking awesome. Homecoming king, all this
- 1:24:53Speaker 1: stuff going to Nebraska, all that stuff coming king.
- 1:24:57Speaker 2: Yeah wait, who was step down? Who was not? Who
- 1:25:01Speaker 2: was not in? Who is not homecoming in here? Yes? No,
- 1:25:05Speaker 2: what man? Maybe maybe at your school. At our school
- 1:25:08Speaker 2: is all about homecoming. That's early in the year. Yea,
- 1:25:10Speaker 2: ours ours was all about homecoming. Homecoming was like a joke.
- 1:25:15Speaker 2: You're a week spear week.
- 1:25:18Speaker 3: Yeah no, so we did. We did the whole nights
- 1:25:19Speaker 3: because I was homecoming thing too. So prom King and
- 1:25:21Speaker 3: Queen for us was like like you just picked two
- 1:25:24Speaker 3: people that you want to date to be homecoming King
- 1:25:27Speaker 3: and Queen so that they finally just like kiss because
- 1:25:29Speaker 3: we were just eggman to kiss.
- 1:25:31Speaker 2: So that's what our prom King and Queen was. So
- 1:25:33Speaker 2: I'm with you. I'm with you. I'm with you. He
- 1:25:37Speaker 2: o kyeay, go off.
- 1:25:37Speaker 1: But yeah, honor mention, you got to give shots a senior.
- 1:25:40Speaker 1: Your senior was absolutely unbelievable. I think you guys said
- 1:25:42Speaker 1: so many fucking good things. Has sparked a lot of memories.
- 1:25:46Speaker 1: Uh the freshman year, vibe hitter, sophomore year with the
- 1:25:49Speaker 1: driver's license, incredible, my Tier three, I'm going to shout out,
- 1:25:55Speaker 1: uh wait, it's not a shout out segment. But my
- 1:25:57Speaker 1: tier three is junior year.
- 1:26:00Speaker 2: Junior year was all time.
- 1:26:04Speaker 1: Yes, as freshman year, you're like the You're like the
- 1:26:07Speaker 1: little no one gives a shit about you. Side note
- 1:26:10Speaker 1: varsity freshman year the boys, the seniors took care of
- 1:26:13Speaker 1: the boy. I never got taped, I never got haze,
- 1:26:15Speaker 1: so I could have I was thinking about putting freshman
- 1:26:18Speaker 1: year in there, but Jack explained freshman year very well.
- 1:26:20Speaker 2: If you were cool enough to be like have a
- 1:26:22Speaker 2: couple of connects.
- 1:26:23Speaker 5: Uh.
- 1:26:24Speaker 1: But as you go through high school, you are now
- 1:26:27Speaker 1: like junior year, you're now close with the seniors, right
- 1:26:30Speaker 1: like being being like a good athlete.
- 1:26:33Speaker 2: You're in with the.
- 1:26:33Speaker 1: Guys who are right ahead of you. They're the studs.
- 1:26:35Speaker 1: You can like, you play your role. You're a stud yourself,
- 1:26:38Speaker 1: but you know, you let the seniors continue to do
- 1:26:40Speaker 1: all that whatever that they want to do. But you're tight.
- 1:26:42Speaker 1: Everybody's tight with each other. Junior year I was also
- 1:26:45Speaker 1: I got my high my my high school girlfriend at
- 1:26:49Speaker 1: the time, who was like my like my best friend
- 1:26:52Speaker 1: growing up. So it's kind of like a one tree
- 1:26:54Speaker 1: hill moment when you get like your girlfriend. It was
- 1:26:57Speaker 1: junior year for me, uh, the boy was all stayed
- 1:26:59Speaker 1: wide receiver. I started getting idea. I wasn't as fortunate
- 1:27:02Speaker 1: as you. My offer started to roll in junior year,
- 1:27:05Speaker 1: so you just felt like the big dog on campus.
- 1:27:07Speaker 1: Like you started to get ranked on like rivals and shit,
- 1:27:09Speaker 1: I was a Nike MVP at one of the camps.
- 1:27:12Speaker 2: Like junior year was a very prosperous year for young William.
- 1:27:17Speaker 2: Thank you, thank you. Awesome. My tier two, my tier one,
- 1:27:21Speaker 2: Tier two.
- 1:27:22Speaker 1: I'm sure with all of us, these can all be interchangeable,
- 1:27:24Speaker 1: because we'd all love to go back to school right now.
- 1:27:26Speaker 1: But my tier two is going to be fourth grade.
- 1:27:33Speaker 1: So fourth grade for me, and you guys know, the
- 1:27:37Speaker 1: boy loves dairy Queen. I love blizzards, I love all
- 1:27:40Speaker 1: of it.
- 1:27:40Speaker 2: Bro I went.
- 1:27:42Speaker 1: I went to a Catholic school in grades one through four,
- 1:27:46Speaker 1: and every day, because our class was made up of
- 1:27:49Speaker 1: three grades, there were seven of us in the class.
- 1:27:52Speaker 1: Combined three grades, there was four. There was four fourth graders,
- 1:27:58Speaker 1: one fifth grader, and two sixth graders. And it was me,
- 1:28:02Speaker 1: Logan Chuck like boys that I'm boys with to this day,
- 1:28:05Speaker 1: and we just like we had dairy Queen for lunch
- 1:28:07Speaker 1: every day. Every day, Bro, you got to order dairy Queen.
- 1:28:12Speaker 1: You got like a little cup of ice cream, you
- 1:28:13Speaker 1: got the burger where I'm not lying, huh No, this
- 1:28:19Speaker 1: is at school because there wasn't that many kids. Like
- 1:28:22Speaker 1: in the entire school. It was grades maybe preschool through
- 1:28:26Speaker 1: preschool through sixth grade, and in fourth or six there's
- 1:28:29Speaker 1: only seven kids total in the entire classroom. But fourth
- 1:28:33Speaker 1: grade like getting to order dairy Queen. In the sports world,
- 1:28:36Speaker 1: like that was our first year playing tackle football. And
- 1:28:38Speaker 1: when I say I might have one of the best
- 1:28:41Speaker 1: fourth grade highlight tapes out there, comparable to like Reggie
- 1:28:46Speaker 1: Bush in college and Tavon Austin in high school, Will
- 1:28:51Speaker 1: in fourth grade was a different fucking animal.
- 1:28:56Speaker 2: I might have to go I might have to go.
- 1:28:58Speaker 1: Through I might have to go through that old foot
- 1:29:00Speaker 1: and put a little Yeah, I got some tape the VCRs.
- 1:29:03Speaker 2: You know, like I had.
- 1:29:04Speaker 1: I had the parents to where my dad's on the
- 1:29:06Speaker 1: sideline with me and my mom's film in the entire
- 1:29:08Speaker 1: game type of I had that kind of family. It
- 1:29:10Speaker 1: was fucking awesome. Those were the days. And one day
- 1:29:13Speaker 1: I scored six touchdowns. Boys, I'm talking four on the
- 1:29:16Speaker 1: ground I'm talking five on the ground and one on
- 1:29:19Speaker 1: defense for a pick six. And I was living the dream.
- 1:29:22Speaker 1: I was playing baseball that year. We're ten years old,
- 1:29:25Speaker 1: so I'm on the ten year old team I got.
- 1:29:27Speaker 1: I made it to the All Star team. Our ten
- 1:29:29Speaker 1: year old team made it all the way to the
- 1:29:31Speaker 1: Little League World Series in the cal Ripken Junior League. However,
- 1:29:34Speaker 1: they didn't tell us until after we won regionals. We
- 1:29:37Speaker 1: go through district We lost in this set, we lost
- 1:29:40Speaker 1: in the We lost in the quarter, so we had
- 1:29:41Speaker 1: to come back in the loser's bracket. Beat the team
- 1:29:43Speaker 1: twice to win. In districts. State, we walked through State.
- 1:29:46Speaker 1: We sweep them. We fucking ten run rule those boys.
- 1:29:49Speaker 1: We ten run rule those boys in four innings in State.
- 1:29:52Speaker 1: It was Sikeston.
- 1:29:55Speaker 2: Hey.
- 1:29:55Speaker 1: Then we get to the regionals. We go up to Iowa,
- 1:29:58Speaker 1: go to the Field of Dreams. We get to do
- 1:30:00Speaker 1: that whole thing. We go to Iowa.
- 1:30:01Speaker 2: We're at regionals. I find three hundred dollars under my.
- 1:30:05Speaker 1: Hotel bed at a red roof in I thought I
- 1:30:07Speaker 1: was fucking living. We go to like one of the
- 1:30:09Speaker 1: big balls or whatever, and I'm like spending this three
- 1:30:11Speaker 1: hundred thinking it came unclaimed. We took it to the
- 1:30:13Speaker 1: front desk, but nobody claimed this three hundred dollars, So
- 1:30:16Speaker 1: I'm rich. You're rich as a fucking ten year old
- 1:30:18Speaker 1: kid with three hundred dollars. And then we go to regionals,
- 1:30:21Speaker 1: we lose in the second round. We come all the
- 1:30:24Speaker 1: way back and beat Kansas twice in the championship to win.
- 1:30:27Speaker 1: Our coach comes over to us says, boys, I didn't
- 1:30:30Speaker 1: want to have to break this to you because we
- 1:30:32Speaker 1: didn't want to take away from the experience. But they
- 1:30:34Speaker 1: just they informed us when we got here at the
- 1:30:36Speaker 1: start of the tournament that the cow Ripken Junior they
- 1:30:38Speaker 1: weren't going to have a ten year old the ten
- 1:30:41Speaker 1: year old tournament representing in the World Series. So they
- 1:30:44Speaker 1: basically just like they hosted us at the World Series.
- 1:30:47Speaker 1: We got to like step out the middle of the
- 1:30:48Speaker 1: field and wave and do all that. But baseball and
- 1:30:51Speaker 1: football prime year's fourth grade now my tier one. The
- 1:30:56Speaker 1: way I just read it off, fourth grade that I
- 1:30:58Speaker 1: might have to just say.
- 1:30:59Speaker 2: That's my notes because I'm gonna let you keep talking.
- 1:31:02Speaker 1: My My tier one I'm going to say is eighth
- 1:31:05Speaker 1: grade was my most fun time in school.
- 1:31:08Speaker 2: Because seventh grade, like you know, no, no, this is
- 1:31:13Speaker 2: hang on, this is my time, Like let's not let's
- 1:31:16Speaker 2: not try to kill the vibe what we do with
- 1:31:20Speaker 2: so eighth grade. Yeah, yeah, my tier one is eighth grade.
- 1:31:25Speaker 1: Let me tell you why because we have a fucking
- 1:31:27Speaker 1: hater literally right next to me. But I will not
- 1:31:29Speaker 1: let him. I will not let him bring this adversity
- 1:31:32Speaker 1: to me. So you know how I said in junior year,
- 1:31:34Speaker 1: when you're tight with those boys that are seniors when
- 1:31:37Speaker 1: you're in seventh grade, they're kind of like when you're
- 1:31:40Speaker 1: like that, how old are you then, Like when you're
- 1:31:42Speaker 1: in those like early teenage years, twelve thirteen, those early
- 1:31:46Speaker 1: like teenage years, like.
- 1:31:47Speaker 2: The boys are kind of like not you.
- 1:31:49Speaker 1: You keep it tight with your guys the grade above
- 1:31:52Speaker 1: you are kind of like assholes, are.
- 1:31:53Speaker 2: Kind of dicks. They think they're the man.
- 1:31:54Speaker 1: We're kind of you're kind of entering out of elementary
- 1:31:56Speaker 1: school going in the seventh grade. You don't feel like
- 1:31:58Speaker 1: the big dog yet. But eighth grade, I say, we
- 1:32:00Speaker 1: got to run around and do whatever we wanted. Because
- 1:32:02Speaker 1: all my boys' teachers were moms, and one of my
- 1:32:05Speaker 1: favorite teachers of all times, missus kee kick shot out,
- 1:32:07Speaker 1: missus kee kk no free shoutouts. Pre algebra was the
- 1:32:09Speaker 1: best fucking time. I'm talking. That's when you're wheeling and
- 1:32:12Speaker 1: dealing candy bars for your baseball league.
- 1:32:17Speaker 2: At all you want.
- 1:32:18Speaker 1: That's big time when you were making money side hustling
- 1:32:20Speaker 1: and eating candy bars in class. Not only that, but
- 1:32:23Speaker 1: eighth grade high jump record, four by one record, four
- 1:32:27Speaker 1: by two record, relay high jump record, and I was
- 1:32:30Speaker 1: also like the hurdle district champion. Maybe the peak of
- 1:32:34Speaker 1: my entire athletic career was in eighth grade, but yeah,
- 1:32:38Speaker 1: my tier one is definitely eighth grade. I felt like
- 1:32:39Speaker 1: the vibes were the highest. We were, the boys were
- 1:32:42Speaker 1: the best of friends. That's when I started sprinting to
- 1:32:44Speaker 1: the cafeteria for lunchtime, not caring who's in my way.
- 1:32:48Speaker 1: We knew the principal, one of my boys dads. He
- 1:32:50Speaker 1: was the principal the fucking school. Like we ran it,
- 1:32:52Speaker 1: bro and it was fucking awesome. And I was on
- 1:32:55Speaker 1: my travel baseball team. We were number one in the
- 1:32:56Speaker 1: state this year. The rage shout out, the rage no
- 1:32:58Speaker 1: free shoutouts, that ten year old team that won in
- 1:33:00Speaker 1: fourth grade. They stayed together they stayed together and created
- 1:33:03Speaker 1: a fucking dynasty and we went all the way to
- 1:33:06Speaker 1: eighth grade and we were.
- 1:33:06Speaker 2: Number one in the state. We got third in the
- 1:33:08Speaker 2: Gold division in the World Series. That's my uh, that's
- 1:33:12Speaker 2: my tier talk. All right, you got them. There will
- 1:33:14Speaker 2: be no honorable mention. There will be no honorable mention.
- 1:33:19Speaker 2: You heard of me said, there will be no honorable mention.
- 1:33:24Speaker 6: My Tier three is going to be my sophomore year
- 1:33:26Speaker 6: of high school. It was a fantastic year. We won
- 1:33:30Speaker 6: the state championship. We went fifteen to er.
- 1:33:32Speaker 2: Oh wow, that is a good year. A good year.
- 1:33:34Speaker 6: I made my like my best core friend group I've
- 1:33:37Speaker 6: ever had, like for as long as we've been friends.
- 1:33:39Speaker 2: It was unbelievable. That hurt.
- 1:33:42Speaker 6: No, No, saw some sadness in the eyes.
- 1:33:47Speaker 1: So no once you said a core group of friends forever,
- 1:33:49Speaker 1: and I'm thinking, like, oh shit, like yeah, that's a
- 1:33:51Speaker 1: pivotal time.
- 1:33:52Speaker 2: You keep it talking.
- 1:33:53Speaker 6: My freshman year, like I was still trying to like
- 1:33:56Speaker 6: figure out it was coming out of eighth grade, which
- 1:33:58Speaker 6: was a fucking like, oh my god, here for me.
- 1:34:00Speaker 2: It was awful, And.
- 1:34:01Speaker 6: So freshman year was really just trying to get the
- 1:34:03Speaker 6: training wheels back on and figure out how to go
- 1:34:04Speaker 6: through this life without being a degenerate. And then sophomore
- 1:34:08Speaker 6: year hit and I was like a part of this crew.
- 1:34:10Speaker 6: We call each other the Sexy six. If you look
- 1:34:12Speaker 6: back back on pictures, we definitely weren't the Sexy six,
- 1:34:14Speaker 6: but it was Kenny Croden, Cody's January, Uh, fucking Anthony Stevens,
- 1:34:21Speaker 6: Tommy Nevin, Nick Bennett, and myself the fucking boys, dude,
- 1:34:25Speaker 6: and we went every weekend, we would go to Anthony's house.
- 1:34:28Speaker 6: He had the side, little little place, little guest house
- 1:34:31Speaker 6: called the Cavoni, and we would just figure out any
- 1:34:33Speaker 6: way we could to find beer and we'd have like
- 1:34:35Speaker 6: parties over there and we would like Anthony was like
- 1:34:38Speaker 6: our fearless leader. And that was like the first time
- 1:34:40Speaker 6: I left. I was like, damn, Like, all you really
- 1:34:42Speaker 6: need is friends bigger than myself. Yeah, yeah, yeah, all
- 1:34:45Speaker 6: I really need is friends. And we won State got
- 1:34:47Speaker 6: a ring.
- 1:34:48Speaker 2: Yeah. Playing nose tackle.
- 1:34:49Speaker 6: Your boy had eight tackles, two TFLs, a sack, fumble,
- 1:34:52Speaker 6: thumb recovery that game. Wow, and your boy was fucking ball.
- 1:34:57Speaker 6: Shout out Sean January for having one hundred and forty
- 1:34:59Speaker 6: seven tackle that you're two's fucking every lady had older brother.
- 1:35:05Speaker 6: Fucking let me tell you about a heart thraw boys,
- 1:35:08Speaker 6: stud stud paper bones though that kid would break everything.
- 1:35:12Speaker 2: Ah. That is my tier three.
- 1:35:14Speaker 6: My tier two is first grade because it was going
- 1:35:18Speaker 6: to be kindergarten in Miss Berlin's class. You were in
- 1:35:21Speaker 6: Miss Brown's class for kindergarten and first but kindergarten low
- 1:35:24Speaker 6: key like you're kind of finding out the dynamics of
- 1:35:27Speaker 6: how the real world's gonna work. It was just like
- 1:35:28Speaker 6: the first time in school unless you went to like preschool,
- 1:35:30Speaker 6: but that she really don't even count either. First grade,
- 1:35:34Speaker 6: Your boy probably peeked from a popularity standpoint. Dude, there
- 1:35:37Speaker 6: was this girl in my class. She was a twin.
- 1:35:38Speaker 2: Her name was Courtney Billy, and I missed her this day. Dude.
- 1:35:42Speaker 6: I had the biggest crush on her. That's what I
- 1:35:44Speaker 6: found out. I liked girls. And I also had a
- 1:35:47Speaker 6: lion king lunchbox that I would walk into the cafeteria
- 1:35:50Speaker 6: with holding like this, and all the kids would be
- 1:35:53Speaker 6: like yeah, like fire up on it, and I'd put
- 1:35:56Speaker 6: it down in the middle and I'd open it up
- 1:35:59Speaker 6: and eat my fucking WONDERBD with turkey and che probably,
- 1:36:02Speaker 6: or if your boy was real lucky, you just kind
- 1:36:04Speaker 6: of open it and shake it and there it comes
- 1:36:05Speaker 6: out the uncruscible pack, not the uncrestible, the lunchable pack.
- 1:36:09Speaker 6: But it was just a fantastic year. Not a whole
- 1:36:11Speaker 6: lot of responsibility. My biggest issue was there was a
- 1:36:15Speaker 6: carpet with letters around it, and it was my job
- 1:36:18Speaker 6: every single day to be able to sit at the tea.
- 1:36:20Speaker 6: And if I didn't get the t it was a
- 1:36:21Speaker 6: bad day, and if I got to the tea, it
- 1:36:22Speaker 6: was a good day. That was kind of like the
- 1:36:24Speaker 6: be all end all of how my day was gonna go.
- 1:36:26Speaker 6: So I think first grade was definitely number two to
- 1:36:30Speaker 6: me and my number one dude, Contrary to popular belief,
- 1:36:36Speaker 6: on this bus goes to a phenomenal All American senior year.
- 1:36:43Speaker 2: I thought senior year was the coolest shit. I had
- 1:36:46Speaker 2: so much fun.
- 1:36:47Speaker 6: Your boy played two football games, send those tape in,
- 1:36:51Speaker 6: became an All American, got thirty offers in three months.
- 1:36:54Speaker 6: It was a wild It was a wild.
- 1:36:57Speaker 2: Ascend into football here.
- 1:36:58Speaker 6: All of a sudden, I was way more handsome and
- 1:37:00Speaker 6: attracted to all the girls I was. I was giving
- 1:37:03Speaker 6: out my jersey left right and center, abusing my power,
- 1:37:06Speaker 6: having so much fun, dude, feeling like the top dog
- 1:37:09Speaker 6: on campus. It was a fucking blast. Lost two games
- 1:37:13Speaker 6: that year, one to Soorro twenty one to zero and
- 1:37:16Speaker 6: the next one to fucking sorrow in the state championship.
- 1:37:19Speaker 2: Thirty eight to zero. But oh god, yeah, yeah, they
- 1:37:22Speaker 2: have some boys out there and coming after him to
- 1:37:24Speaker 2: like remember that first game. Boys, well that in that
- 1:37:29Speaker 2: first game. In that first game, Dwayne.
- 1:37:31Speaker 6: Garrett, who you met at that that that steakhouse, the
- 1:37:36Speaker 6: running back couldn't can't catch anything, cannot That dude had
- 1:37:40Speaker 6: brick hands, goes up, snipes a double hand and grab
- 1:37:43Speaker 6: in the back of the end zone to make it
- 1:37:45Speaker 6: seven to seven. Going into halftime. I thought you lost
- 1:37:48Speaker 6: thirty eight nothing, Yeah, but there was a penalty holding
- 1:37:50Speaker 6: folds masks number seventy seven. That shit went back, Brode
- 1:37:57Speaker 6: He brings that sit up to this day.
- 1:37:58Speaker 2: That's how he was back.
- 1:38:00Speaker 6: Caught the ball like I've never seen, like an Odell
- 1:38:03Speaker 6: from like twenty fourteen type catch two hands with two hands.
- 1:38:08Speaker 2: I took that shit away from him.
- 1:38:09Speaker 6: Bro cried my fucking face off after we lost that
- 1:38:12Speaker 6: first game, cried went to shake hands, I get your
- 1:38:15Speaker 6: fucking hand on my face. Bro, wouldn't shake no hands.
- 1:38:18Speaker 6: You know that second game too, they thought they were coming.
- 1:38:21Speaker 6: I'm about to take everyone. I'm taking lives today.
- 1:38:24Speaker 2: Get your teammates next to you. That Friday night light speech,
- 1:38:28Speaker 2: clear eyes, fool hard. Can't lose, damn bro.
- 1:38:32Speaker 6: And if we played it one more times, we'd have
- 1:38:34Speaker 6: lost ten more times. They were so much better than us. Yeah,
- 1:38:37Speaker 6: they had like eight dudes go d one on offense
- 1:38:39Speaker 6: and defense, offense and defense sixers and their teams didn't
- 1:38:43Speaker 6: go d one who.
- 1:38:43Speaker 2: Went first round though? None? Come on, dude, that's.
- 1:38:47Speaker 6: Right, Jackie, that's right, Jackie.
- 1:38:50Speaker 2: Fucking take that jack What are you saying?
- 1:38:52Speaker 7: It?
- 1:38:52Speaker 2: His your talk?
- 1:38:53Speaker 4: I love it, And for me personally, my senior year
- 1:38:56Speaker 4: kicked ass too.
- 1:38:57Speaker 2: I love senior year.
- 1:38:59Speaker 4: When we go check it tape, you will see how
- 1:39:00Speaker 4: I had an honorable mention his senior year.
- 1:39:03Speaker 2: I know.
- 1:39:03Speaker 4: I just think everyone senior year, hopefully, if you played
- 1:39:06Speaker 4: your cards right, it.
- 1:39:07Speaker 2: Was just out of this world. If you're saying senior
- 1:39:09Speaker 2: year is God here, yes, but I didn't.
- 1:39:11Speaker 4: I didn't say God tier in there.
- 1:39:14Speaker 2: I get it.
- 1:39:14Speaker 4: An honorable mention if I had played right, if you had.
- 1:39:18Speaker 1: A h If you have to say senior year is
- 1:39:20Speaker 1: your number one, then your childhood growing up was tough.
- 1:39:24Speaker 2: Basically you didn't have other grades to compete. Well, I
- 1:39:26Speaker 2: have to just check the tape. Okay, guys, the way
- 1:39:29Speaker 2: will very negative, I know. Will I go? Uh?
- 1:39:35Speaker 6: They go, what would be your number one? You're like, oh,
- 1:39:38Speaker 6: senior year, And they both told I look at each
- 1:39:41Speaker 6: other and I'm like, yo, what the fuck did I say?
- 1:39:43Speaker 6: Some romans are singing in my mouth. It's sing like,
- 1:39:45Speaker 6: oh yo, yo.
- 1:39:46Speaker 2: There. You could tell when I afraid of Jack.
- 1:39:50Speaker 4: When I said it on the bus, you could tell
- 1:39:52Speaker 4: that there was some very scary fear if you said
- 1:39:54Speaker 4: senior year, you're going to get dogged.
- 1:39:56Speaker 2: But that that wasn't where I was going with it.
- 1:39:58Speaker 2: But yeah, I read the maybe I read the room wrong,
- 1:40:01Speaker 2: the energy wrong. Damn bro.
- 1:40:04Speaker 6: High school for real is the best, though, middle school, look,
- 1:40:06Speaker 6: key is the worst, fucking bro awful Like, that's just
- 1:40:12Speaker 6: when peobody's starting to hit. Dude, you don't know which
- 1:40:14Speaker 6: ways up? Yeah, but you get Seventh grade was a
- 1:40:17Speaker 6: good year though, because I learned to master get it
- 1:40:18Speaker 6: roll say, that's when you get it wrong and you
- 1:40:22Speaker 6: get it rolling. I was gonna say, yeah, you start
- 1:40:24Speaker 6: looking at her cranking them out, yes, yeah, looking at
- 1:40:26Speaker 6: them home good.
- 1:40:27Speaker 2: Different way you look at.
- 1:40:28Speaker 1: A poster the wrong way, Bro, he's an ivy batman.
- 1:40:33Speaker 1: Come on, now what what?
- 1:40:35Speaker 2: Well, now we're back to the episode. Bro.
- 1:40:39Speaker 1: It got to where baseball's travel was all year round,
- 1:40:42Speaker 1: and I was burnt out on it, and I was
- 1:40:43Speaker 1: way more excited for like seven on seven. Like when
- 1:40:45Speaker 1: I got asked to do varsity and partake in the
- 1:40:47Speaker 1: seven on seven my freshman year, I was like on
- 1:40:50Speaker 1: cloud nine. It gives me goosebumps. I got chills right
- 1:40:53Speaker 1: now thinking about it. When I got to go work
- 1:40:55Speaker 1: out with the varsity early in the morning, you're like,
- 1:40:59Speaker 1: you like having team shicks for the first time, Like
- 1:41:01Speaker 1: you're like the fucking like you're gonna do it. Yeah,
- 1:41:04Speaker 1: And then they're like asking you to go play on
- 1:41:05Speaker 1: the seven on seven team, And it's just like that
- 1:41:07Speaker 1: was during the summer.
- 1:41:07Speaker 2: So I kind of just nicked baseball to that.
- 1:41:10Speaker 3: No, I forgot to talk about seven on seven on
- 1:41:12Speaker 3: sevens are were I think now it's a little a
- 1:41:16Speaker 3: little more political and there's like different teams and stuff,
- 1:41:18Speaker 3: but seven on seven with your high school team, there
- 1:41:21Speaker 3: was nothing better.
- 1:41:22Speaker 2: It's so fucking awesome.
- 1:41:23Speaker 3: I mean we we we traveled to Bama, we traveled
- 1:41:25Speaker 3: to South Carolina, like, oh you guys, oh yeah, no,
- 1:41:28Speaker 3: like even.
- 1:41:28Speaker 2: You guys traveled to different states.
- 1:41:30Speaker 3: Yeah, and like Lil Wayne was bumping every single time.
- 1:41:33Speaker 3: Bro Carter three was going crazy and I mean it
- 1:41:36Speaker 3: was that was that was life for sure.
- 1:41:38Speaker 2: So I'm with you on that. By the laughter on
- 1:41:42Speaker 2: eighth grade, let's talk about it.
- 1:41:44Speaker 3: Middle school, like talking to middle school was the that's
- 1:41:49Speaker 3: the worst of the three elementary middle high school. That's
- 1:41:53Speaker 3: the middle school to me is it's the worst.
- 1:41:55Speaker 1: Oh, you start figuring out how to work the boy downstairs.
- 1:42:00Speaker 1: I learned about porn in eighth grade. I'm okay, cool,
- 1:42:03Speaker 1: those are incredible times.
- 1:42:04Speaker 3: Cool, cool my learning about I mean, you can friend's
- 1:42:08Speaker 3: dad already.
- 1:42:09Speaker 1: Clean up the computer because there were viruses all over it.
- 1:42:11Speaker 1: And we tried blaming everybody else obviously except ourselves.
- 1:42:14Speaker 2: You have to at that point, it sounded so proud
- 1:42:17Speaker 2: saying that.
- 1:42:19Speaker 1: I'm just saying, there's like good times in eighth grade. Man,
- 1:42:21Speaker 1: before you go to high school before you have to
- 1:42:23Speaker 1: grow up for real.
- 1:42:23Speaker 3: But you don't though, like, wait, well, how many people
- 1:42:26Speaker 3: were in your high school because you.
- 1:42:29Speaker 2: Grade Okay, so it's different. Once after fourth grade, I didn't.
- 1:42:34Speaker 1: We were out of Catholic private and then we went
- 1:42:36Speaker 1: to uh we went to public school. So our graduating class,
- 1:42:39Speaker 1: mind was two hundred and forty.
- 1:42:40Speaker 2: Okay, that's a little that's a little better for sure.
- 1:42:44Speaker 2: I just loved eighth grade, bro.
- 1:42:45Speaker 1: Like when I say, like all of our boys like
- 1:42:47Speaker 1: their teachers, their their parents were teachers, and like one
- 1:42:51Speaker 1: of my boys dad was like the principal, and you
- 1:42:54Speaker 1: started like so a little league playing football growing up.
- 1:42:57Speaker 1: The last year was seventh grade. They nicked the middle
- 1:43:01Speaker 1: school football seventh grade program. Back when I was there,
- 1:43:04Speaker 1: they were asking me to play in eighth grade as
- 1:43:06Speaker 1: a seventh grader in the community league or there was
- 1:43:08Speaker 1: reserve rumors about it.
- 1:43:09Speaker 2: It never happened, it never transpired.
- 1:43:11Speaker 1: But like getting in the eighth grade was like the
- 1:43:13Speaker 1: est time you get to put on for your school
- 1:43:15Speaker 1: and start traveling all around and playing other teams like
- 1:43:17Speaker 1: in the area versus just playing community foot tackle football.
- 1:43:20Speaker 2: Did you guys have like an A B team or no, yeah, yeah, yeah,
- 1:43:23Speaker 2: you're talking about eighth grade.
- 1:43:24Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, yeah, the E tea would play and then
- 1:43:27Speaker 1: the B team goes out there for like a quarter
- 1:43:28Speaker 1: or something like that.
- 1:43:29Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:43:29Speaker 3: Well no, we had two just different teams. Like we
- 1:43:32Speaker 3: had like an a uh nor A and a North
- 1:43:36Speaker 3: one at B. Like there were two separate teams.
- 1:43:38Speaker 2: It wasn't like both play on Friday, but just different,
- 1:43:43Speaker 2: like different was the best team team A yeah right yeah.
- 1:43:46Speaker 3: But like not for like just like people would come out,
- 1:43:49Speaker 3: you'd watch the B team play and then the eight
- 1:43:51Speaker 3: team would play right afterwards, so you played four quarter.
- 1:43:53Speaker 3: We had a big I mean it was a big school,
- 1:43:54Speaker 3: so we had a lot of people just playing. If
- 1:43:57Speaker 3: it just sucked, dude, I don't know, like seventh grade socks.
- 1:44:00Speaker 3: The trade sucks, like damn, you got these periods. Now
- 1:44:02Speaker 3: you're going out like damn, I don't have just one teacher.
- 1:44:05Speaker 3: I gotta go to this teacher and I gotta go
- 1:44:06Speaker 3: to that teacher. We had trailers. I'm like, dude, I'm
- 1:44:08Speaker 3: out in the trailers. I'm in eighth grade. Why the
- 1:44:09Speaker 3: hell am I walking out to the trailers.
- 1:44:11Speaker 1: But before school you would have like that home room
- 1:44:13Speaker 1: and we would always have like certain games that go on.
- 1:44:15Speaker 1: So say you're a home room. Missus Worley was my teacher.
- 1:44:19Speaker 1: Say you had the home room, right, you would have
- 1:44:22Speaker 1: like inner murals before school, So we would have Missus
- 1:44:25Speaker 1: Worley's class was a team you would go and play
- 1:44:28Speaker 1: like hockey in the gym before school started. Like to me,
- 1:44:31Speaker 1: eighth grade is like fucking like in the morning, like
- 1:44:38Speaker 1: early in the morning. Yeah, did we have to play
- 1:44:40Speaker 1: like innermurals? Like that's when I played all four the
- 1:44:43Speaker 1: sports I was probably played football, basketball, baseball, and track.
- 1:44:47Speaker 1: And that was like the first time doing track, and
- 1:44:48Speaker 1: I was really good at it as like an eighth grader.
- 1:44:51Speaker 1: And you know, obviously you guys heard the tear talk.
- 1:44:53Speaker 1: I had those records, young king am I.
- 1:44:56Speaker 7: Still saying middle school the one of the things I
- 1:44:58Speaker 7: agree about middle school and like not at the top.
- 1:45:01Speaker 2: For me, it was sixth grade.
- 1:45:03Speaker 7: You have to like use a locker and like get
- 1:45:05Speaker 7: books and go to class. True dress, that was the
- 1:45:09Speaker 7: first time you felt stressed in your life. Sixth grade,
- 1:45:12Speaker 7: no doubt. Eighth grade was fun, but we were always
- 1:45:15Speaker 7: in trouble. Bro Like we did everything you were talking
- 1:45:18Speaker 7: about running around, but we were just get in so
- 1:45:21Speaker 7: much trouble so eighth grade, like you had to walk
- 1:45:23Speaker 7: on eggshells.
- 1:45:24Speaker 2: It took our eighth grade trip away.
- 1:45:26Speaker 3: Dude, well it yeah, we got we got some that sucks.
- 1:45:29Speaker 3: We got some back of the bus driving right now.
- 1:45:31Speaker 3: Talking about mid for middle school, I think that's that
- 1:45:34Speaker 3: is exactly what it is, Middle JP mid playing the mid.
- 1:45:40Speaker 2: I meant to get it up there when you were
- 1:45:42Speaker 2: talking Will and then it just just to fucking be funny,
- 1:45:45Speaker 2: like have it up there.
- 1:45:46Speaker 3: Yeah, but even even like you're even like your eighth
- 1:45:49Speaker 3: grade team one state.
- 1:45:51Speaker 2: Cool? Right, we got to number one instant your you said,
- 1:45:55Speaker 2: the baseball Yeah yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 1:45:57Speaker 3: Ranked first in steak Cool. Did you have to three
- 1:45:59Speaker 3: hundreds under your mattress when you went to a motel
- 1:46:02Speaker 3: when you were traveling?
- 1:46:03Speaker 2: No grade, No, no, you're right.
- 1:46:06Speaker 1: But my man, if you if you listen, if you
- 1:46:08Speaker 1: would have been listening to me, I said, I think
- 1:46:10Speaker 1: we can all agree that all these are interchangeable. Like
- 1:46:12Speaker 1: it was I went, I went based off peak athletic career.
- 1:46:16Speaker 2: I felt like, okay, so okay.
- 1:46:18Speaker 1: In eighth grade to me was like, I mean I
- 1:46:20Speaker 1: was a don't get me wrong, I was a dogs
- 1:46:22Speaker 1: throughout all of it.
- 1:46:23Speaker 2: But eighth grade to me was were I feel like
- 1:46:26Speaker 2: the man for real?
- 1:46:28Speaker 1: Like in eighth grade, you're walking around with like ankle
- 1:46:30Speaker 1: weights on because you think you're changing the game, and
- 1:46:32Speaker 1: you ordered out of an East Bay magazine. Like eighth grade,
- 1:46:35Speaker 1: you're starting to figure out a lot more of the
- 1:46:36Speaker 1: East Bay the East Bay magazine, Yeah, for sure. And
- 1:46:40Speaker 1: again walking around the ankle weights, you take them off right,
- 1:46:42Speaker 1: you take them off right.
- 1:46:43Speaker 2: Before the game, and you feel light as hell on
- 1:46:44Speaker 2: your feet. Yeah.
- 1:46:46Speaker 3: Then they find out that that's probably not the best right,
- 1:46:49Speaker 3: but at the time to know you you're right, I think.
- 1:46:53Speaker 3: But like when when did those uh one of those
- 1:46:55Speaker 3: one of those damn balanced bands and the fighting thing
- 1:46:57Speaker 3: that's high school power balance?
- 1:46:59Speaker 2: Yeah, powerful when we were talking about that not too

- 1:47:09Speaker 2: wouldn't you graduate high school eleven? Yeah, I was two
- 1:47:11Speaker 2: thousand and eight. We were walking around that, we were
- 1:47:14Speaker 2: walking around the.
- 1:47:15Speaker 1: Brasket taking like, hey, you got to get these on,
- 1:47:17Speaker 1: It'll help you working out balance and ship.
- 1:47:20Speaker 3: Such a I mean, such a con but I mean cool, cool,
- 1:47:24Speaker 3: But like also they asked you why you didn't just
- 1:47:27Speaker 3: stick with baseball if you're getting paid under the mattress
- 1:47:30Speaker 3: before cop.
- 1:47:31Speaker 2: Hang on, I wasn't getting paid No, no, no, no, it's cool.

- 1:47:44Speaker 2: find the coaching staff like, hey, we know what was
- 1:47:48Speaker 2: going on here. You were paying your players.
- 1:47:50Speaker 1: But yeah, man, I think that was a good tier talk.
- 1:47:51Speaker 1: It brought up a lot of memories, a lot of memories.
- 1:47:54Speaker 3: I think we had a there was a good collective
- 1:47:57Speaker 3: more of this side.
- 1:48:00Speaker 2: I respect what you're doing.
- 1:48:01Speaker 1: You bossed enough bus with the boys or where you
- 1:48:02Speaker 1: want to create some animosity.
- 1:48:03Speaker 2: I respect it. I think this was a good conversation
- 1:48:06Speaker 2: all around. I agree.
- 1:48:08Speaker 3: I just don't think that. I mean, eighth graders just cool.
- 1:48:12Speaker 2: Yes, okay, hang on, hang on.
