- 1:51Speaker 4: and all these other places. So hopefully you are in
- 1:54Speaker 4: for the entire two hours, and I would appreciate that
- 1:57Speaker 4: very much.
- 1:57Speaker 1: Thank to Thanks to all the folks behind the scenes
- 1:59Speaker 1: to make it it go.
- 2:01Speaker 4: So I know this isn't necessarily politics, but I have
- 2:05Speaker 4: to start with this.
- 2:06Speaker 1: I got it in a world, in a world where.
- 2:11Speaker 4: Heroes are nearly impossible to find, do not, for even
- 2:19Speaker 4: one minute look to the sports fields for any heroes,
- 2:24Speaker 4: because you're not going to find many, if any. So
- 2:28Speaker 4: I stand before you, or I stand before this microphone.
- 2:31Speaker 4: I'm a former professional athlete. I'm a man who earned far,
- 2:37Speaker 4: far less in my entire career than today's rookie baseball
- 2:44Speaker 4: player makes him one single at that. Yet I can
- 2:49Speaker 4: say with complete sincerity that I play with pride, I
- 2:52Speaker 4: played with sweat, I play with heart.
- 2:53Speaker 1: I believed in the game.
- 2:56Speaker 4: I believed in athletics, I believed in the athletes that
- 2:59Speaker 4: were the uniform, and I believed in all of it.
- 3:04Speaker 4: I was all in for the longest time in my life.
- 3:07Speaker 4: But that belief has been shattered again because you've got
- 3:13Speaker 4: athletes who are making thirty forty fifty million dollars a
- 3:17Speaker 4: season that no longer can be trusted to give you
- 3:20Speaker 4: their all, cheating, scandals, lack of hustle, lack of desire.
- 3:26Speaker 4: I've watched Superstar after Superstar, jograph first Base Coast through
- 3:31Speaker 4: the fourth quarter, fake injuries, and now manipulate betting lines.
- 3:38Speaker 1: So I don't know you know where to turn now
- 3:44Speaker 1: in this.
- 3:46Speaker 4: Now we've seen rig poker games backed by organized crime,
- 3:50Speaker 4: with former NBA stars sitting at that table, not as
- 3:54Speaker 4: players but as bait. If you're just tuning in or
- 3:56Speaker 4: you don't know about this story, it is a doozy
- 3:59Speaker 4: ladies and gentlemen. You've got NBA players and mobsters conspiring
- 4:05Speaker 4: to build people out of money and cheat at poker games.
- 4:09Speaker 1: And that's just the beginning. You've got NBA players who
- 4:14Speaker 1: now are in.
- 4:16Speaker 4: A scandal where they've manipulated their play for money. Johncy Billips,
- 4:22Speaker 4: Terry Rozier, Damon Jones, all indicted, arrested, accused of conspiring
- 4:27Speaker 4: with mafia families to defraud victims over seven million dollars.
- 4:33Speaker 1: Seven million dollars is.
- 4:36Speaker 4: Chump change to these guys, yep, Why are they doing it?
- 4:41Speaker 4: And they're only getting a piece of a fraction of
- 4:43Speaker 4: a fraction of that seven million.
- 4:44Speaker 1: It's chump change. Man.
- 4:46Speaker 4: Some of these guys signed two million, three hundred million
- 4:49Speaker 4: dollar contracts. Why would you risk your reputation for this?
- 4:56Speaker 1: For this? Is this addiction? Really?
- 5:02Speaker 4: So they used hitting cameras, they barcoded cards, they preprogrammed shufflers,
- 5:09Speaker 4: and they pocketed payments, laughing at all the people they
- 5:14Speaker 4: were builking out of money on these text messages. It
- 5:17Speaker 4: was very sophisticated stuff to poker games, and the betting
- 5:21Speaker 4: itself was worse. Players were tipping off criminals about fake injuries.
- 5:29Speaker 4: The guy Rosier, he told his friends to bet the under.
- 5:34Speaker 4: And if you don't know what that means, it just
- 5:35Speaker 4: simply means. There's all kinds of different bets you can
- 5:37Speaker 4: make on these FanDuel of draftking apps, and you can
- 5:41Speaker 4: bet how many rebounds or points or assists somebody gets
- 5:44Speaker 4: in a game, you can do a combination of all that.
- 5:46Speaker 1: He told his buddies, his gangster buddies, to bet the.
- 5:50Speaker 4: Under, and then a couple of minutes into the game,
- 5:51Speaker 4: he faked an injury, came out, they all cleaned up.
- 5:56Speaker 4: The game was manipulated, not for victory, but for profit.
- 6:02Speaker 4: This isn't competition, it's it's just corruption. And I when
- 6:09Speaker 4: I first thought, when.
- 6:10Speaker 1: I you know, gambling, this is like my wheelhouse. I
- 6:13Speaker 1: get this. I'm an athlete. I get gambling, right.
- 6:16Speaker 4: But I always thought that because of the sheer amount
- 6:20Speaker 4: of money that these athletes make, they'd never go down
- 6:22Speaker 4: this road.
- 6:22Speaker 1: It would it makes no sense.
- 6:24Speaker 4: Maybe a referee or referees, maybe even assistant of a
- 6:27Speaker 4: coach is something like that. You would see that scandal
- 6:29Speaker 4: popping up, for sure, But not the guys who are
- 6:32Speaker 4: making twenty five million dollars a year.
- 6:35Speaker 1: How much money do you need?
- 6:38Speaker 4: Is it just the mentality, that thug mentality.
- 6:41Speaker 1: I want to hang out with thugs. I want to
- 6:43Speaker 1: be a thug. I want to hang out with the mafia.
- 6:46Speaker 1: I want to be part of the mafia. Cash is king.
- 6:50Speaker 1: I get that.
- 6:51Speaker 4: The human condition, it can dictate how you act, and
- 6:56Speaker 4: the human condition always finds a way to disappoint. But man,
- 7:02Speaker 4: think about that, all this money that they have, and
- 7:07Speaker 4: I'm sure this is the tip of the iceberg. I'm
- 7:09Speaker 4: sure this is not This is not a single thing,
- 7:12Speaker 4: This is not an isolated incident. I gotta tell you,
- 7:17Speaker 4: I'm never going to buy another ticket. I'm never going
- 7:19Speaker 4: to purchase another jersey. I find it hard to support
- 7:23Speaker 4: a product that has no problem betraying people, right, And
- 7:29Speaker 4: I'm not just a disappointed fan again, I'm a former player.
- 7:32Speaker 4: I know how the game should be played. I get
- 7:33Speaker 4: what goes on in the locker room. Athletes should be
- 7:37Speaker 4: fierce and clean and honest and play for the what matters,
- 7:42Speaker 4: not money. They should play for the roar of the crowd,
- 7:48Speaker 4: and don't make it. Engineered gambling is now legal sports
- 7:52Speaker 4: betting in thirty nine states. The doors wide open, and
- 7:58Speaker 4: apparently the financial incentives are irresistible even to folks who
- 8:06Speaker 4: you know, can swim around in their own money. And
- 8:09Speaker 4: now they are apparently no moral guide guidelines for any
- 8:12Speaker 4: of them. They're all gone, all gone. So now the
- 8:18Speaker 4: leagues themselves, these these websites themselves, if they don't absolutely
- 8:23Speaker 4: crack down on this like today and make this a
- 8:28Speaker 4: zero tolerance issue. I mean, you could lose a lot
- 8:31Speaker 4: of fans because right now what we do is we
- 8:35Speaker 4: we reward apathy. We celebrate fraud here for whatever reason.
- 8:42Speaker 4: But their forty five million dollar salaries not enough. Again,
- 8:47Speaker 4: they have to be part of the mob, the mafia
- 8:51Speaker 4: again mentality, hang out with thugs and gangsters.
- 8:54Speaker 1: That's it. That's that's the high point of your existence.
- 8:58Speaker 4: Duping people out of their money in a poker game
- 9:01Speaker 4: was sophisticated equipment.
- 9:05Speaker 1: You know. I've been you know, backing off sports.
- 9:10Speaker 4: For a while for a lot of different reasons, but
- 9:12Speaker 4: the most the number one reason is the sheer amount
- 9:15Speaker 4: of money that these players make. Not that I begrudge
- 9:18Speaker 4: people from making what they're worth, but when you're making
- 9:20Speaker 4: when you're making forty five to fifty million dollars a year,
- 9:23Speaker 4: and then the average joe, the you know, the sports
- 9:28Speaker 4: enthusiast who's maybe a bartender or works construction or just
- 9:33Speaker 4: works in a cubicle all day. I mean, he's got
- 9:35Speaker 4: to pay one hundred dollars for a cheap seat ticket.
- 9:38Speaker 4: Forget about taking the family one hundred bucks for a
- 9:40Speaker 4: cheap seat ticket, seventy five bucks at the park. He
- 9:42Speaker 4: wants to have a beer, it's eighteen twelve dollars for
- 9:45Speaker 4: a hot dog. Pardon my language, but essentially, essentially, you're
- 9:51Speaker 4: being raped by these professional sports entities, just picking you up,
- 9:58Speaker 4: holding you upside down, and shaking rea last nickel that
- 10:01Speaker 4: they can get out of your pockets. And these these
- 10:04Speaker 4: athletes not all like this, but these athletes were caught
- 10:07Speaker 4: in this scandal. I mean some of them have made
- 10:11Speaker 4: over one hundred million dollars in their career laughing, laughing
- 10:15Speaker 4: at you, laughing at me and the Attorney General in
- 10:23Speaker 4: New York. I was going to play some audio, but
- 10:25Speaker 4: I'm gonna run out of time. Maybe I'll do it
- 10:26Speaker 4: later on in the show. But they are not messing
- 10:30Speaker 4: around with this. They're going for the juggular, and rightfully so,
- 10:34Speaker 4: because you know, these American pastimes, and this happens to
- 10:38Speaker 4: be the NBA. But we've seen it in other places.
- 10:40Speaker 4: You know, We've seen these scandals in college football, We've
- 10:42Speaker 4: seen them in college basketball, We've seen them in professional sports.
- 10:46Speaker 4: They popped up now on a somewhat regular basis because
- 10:49Speaker 4: of the ease and the excess of how you can gamble.
- 10:52Speaker 1: You can bet at any time.
- 10:53Speaker 4: You can bet from your sofa, you can bet from
- 10:55Speaker 4: your bed, you can bet any way you want, as
- 10:57Speaker 4: long as you've got your cell phone. And I'm not
- 11:00Speaker 4: somebody who says, don't bet again. I've been in that
- 11:05Speaker 4: business for.
- 11:05Speaker 1: A long, long long time. I get it, I understand it.
- 11:08Speaker 1: But I said, when this thing opened up, opening, you're
- 11:11Speaker 1: opening up.
- 11:11Speaker 4: Pandora's box, and once that genie is out of the bottom,
- 11:13Speaker 4: and you're never putting it back in. So make sure
- 11:17Speaker 4: you do it right. And I'm not sure that they
- 11:20Speaker 4: did it right. All right, I'm gonna take a break.
- 11:23Speaker 4: We're gonna come right back in just a couple of minutes.
- 11:25Speaker 4: A good friend of my show here in Connecticut, the
- 11:28Speaker 4: Sports Doctor's going to join me. He also works for ESPN.
- 11:31Speaker 4: We're going to get his opinion on this whole NBA issue.
- 11:34Speaker 4: Then the bottom of the hour, she is a phenomenal
- 11:37Speaker 4: podcaster extraordinaire, and we'll talk to Elsa Kirk about all
- 11:41Speaker 4: things going on in the news, plus a whole bunch.
- 11:43Speaker 1: More stick around. You're listening again to the war Zone.
- 11:48Speaker 5: Hi, this is Wayne Alerut for Patriot Critical Minerals.
- 11:51Speaker 3: Here's the raw truth.
- 11:52Speaker 5: Our military dominance, our economic strength, and even our freedom
- 11:55Speaker 5: itself depends on one critical metal most Americans have never
- 11:59Speaker 5: heard of.
- 12:00Speaker 3: Tungsten is the medal of strength.
- 12:02Speaker 5: It's what hardens our tanks, powers our jet fighters, drives
- 12:05Speaker 5: our missiles, and put steel behind every round of ammunition.
- 12:08Speaker 3: Here's the danger.
- 12:09Speaker 5: China controls eighty percent of the world's supply and ninety
- 12:11Speaker 5: percent of production. If China cuts us off, America's military power, economy,
- 12:16Speaker 5: and independence all hangs in the balance.
- 12:18Speaker 3: Here's the good news. We have the solution.
- 12:20Speaker 5: Patriot Critical Minerals home to the most advanced tungsten deposit
- 12:24Speaker 5: in the entire USA of over ninety million tons. This
- 12:27Speaker 5: is the kind of discovery that can change the game
- 12:29Speaker 5: enough to break china stranglehold on tungsten. There has never
- 12:33Speaker 5: been a better moment to invest in tungsten. Patriot Critical
- 12:36Speaker 5: Minerals isn't just about mining, It's about securing our freedom

- 15:03Speaker 4: Mark this is the war Zone. Wayne Allen rud is
- 15:05Speaker 4: off tonight. You can watch what's going on at the
- 15:07Speaker 4: Gateway Pundon. You can go to Patriot dot tv. Of course,
- 15:11Speaker 4: of course, on Wayne's rumble x Getter root for America
- 15:14Speaker 4: dot Com as well.
- 15:15Speaker 1: So we are going to the phones right now.
- 15:17Speaker 4: I get a friend of mine who works with ESPN,
- 15:20Speaker 4: ESPN Productions, and he's a giant sports fan and all
- 15:23Speaker 4: of that, butg in his inside look and what's going
- 15:26Speaker 4: on here. I just want to do one more segment
- 15:28Speaker 4: focusing in on this, this NBA scandal. So we're bringing
- 15:32Speaker 4: on the sports doctor, Keith O'Brien. Keith, you're talking to America.
- 15:35Speaker 4: Good afternoon, how are you.
- 15:36Speaker 6: Man, I'll welcome America. Le lt you sound great, great job,
- 15:40Speaker 6: and boy, with the bomb went off this morning in
- 15:44Speaker 6: professional sports? Did it not?
- 15:46Speaker 1: I think so. I think this is a huge wake
- 15:48Speaker 1: up call.
- 15:48Speaker 4: But we're like, listen, we know sort of the details
- 15:52Speaker 4: are starting to come out now, but what's the ramifications.
- 15:54Speaker 1: What's the fallout from this?
- 15:56Speaker 6: I mean, Lee, the fallout is this? You talked about
- 15:59Speaker 6: it earlier than Tiger. The sport, you know, with gambling
- 16:04Speaker 6: online gambling now become its mainstream. It's part of our
- 16:07Speaker 6: culture today. You know, the terriersire thing with the prop
- 16:11Speaker 6: bets and guys pulling themselves out of games. It's you've
- 16:15Speaker 6: really got to question yourself as a fan, as an
- 16:21Speaker 6: owner of a team, as an organization, as a society.
- 16:25Speaker 6: You know, this has been going on a long time
- 16:28Speaker 6: ly and I think it's it's only going to get
- 16:31Speaker 6: worse and stories like this. You know, I'm just gonna
- 16:35Speaker 6: bring it more to the forefront. I mean, gambling going
- 16:37Speaker 6: to shove down our throat. Now, it's part of culture,
- 16:40Speaker 6: it's part of society. And I do think you're right.
- 16:42Speaker 6: This is just a tip of the iceberg. When the
- 16:45Speaker 6: FBI is dealing with these things and digging out some dirt,
- 16:49Speaker 6: they're going to find a whole lot more to the
- 16:50Speaker 6: bottom of the buyo.
- 16:51Speaker 4: Explain to me how you can be making twenty million
- 16:54Speaker 4: dollars a year and try to griff somebody out of
- 16:57Speaker 4: a few hundred thousand or even less than that ten
- 17:00Speaker 4: twenty thirty thousand.
- 17:01Speaker 1: What is it about? Is it just the allure? Is
- 17:03Speaker 1: that the danger?
- 17:05Speaker 6: Maybe ego, narcissism, boredom? I mean, you name it, lee that.
- 17:10Speaker 6: I mean, you can't tell me it's competitive edge because
- 17:13Speaker 6: a lot of people have competitive edge, right and haven't
- 17:15Speaker 6: done things like that. I think it's extremely, extremely narcissistic
- 17:21Speaker 6: and ego driven. I mean we've all got a little
- 17:23Speaker 6: bit that we want more, we want more, we want more.
- 17:25Speaker 6: But you know, how do you do it and how
- 17:27Speaker 6: you go about it is that's extremely unethical. With Chauncey
- 17:31Speaker 6: Billips and the poker games that people, you know he's
- 17:34Speaker 6: lying in the bed with, you know, and even Terry
- 17:36Speaker 6: rose Year and you know, the NBA has had problems
- 17:38Speaker 6: for years.
- 17:39Speaker 5: Man.
- 17:39Speaker 6: You know, let's not forget about Tim Donaghey many years
- 17:41Speaker 6: ago as a referee yep, you know, throwing games and
- 17:45Speaker 6: taking money from the mob in Boston. I mean, this
- 17:47Speaker 6: is not something new with the NBA.
- 17:50Speaker 4: So we may have some viewers listeners across the country.
- 17:53Speaker 4: We don't know what a prop bet is. So if
- 17:55Speaker 4: you can explain to everybody what a prop bet is
- 17:57Speaker 4: like in a sixty seconds or less.
- 17:59Speaker 6: Yeah, let's just say Lee Elti is the starting point
- 18:02Speaker 6: guard for the Boston Celtics, which you've got the skills
- 18:04Speaker 6: to do it.
- 18:05Speaker 3: Lee.
- 18:05Speaker 6: I've seen you on the court and you know you're
- 18:07Speaker 6: all over. Under to score points is twelve, Okay, So
- 18:11Speaker 6: I'm gonna bet fifty bucks that Lee's gonna get twelve
- 18:13Speaker 6: points or more that or fifty bucks under twelve that's
- 18:17Speaker 6: the prop bet well Lee else has control of that
- 18:21Speaker 6: bakes the injury, says, on my legs hurt. He's coming out.
- 18:24Speaker 6: He scores six points in the game, but he tells
- 18:26Speaker 6: all his buddies beforehand that the under it's a lot.
- 18:30Speaker 6: You know why because I'm taking myself out of it. Yeah,
- 18:33Speaker 6: that my friend is dirty pool and just off the
- 18:38Speaker 6: Chaine Buffel.
- 18:39Speaker 4: All right, So how do they fix it? What do
- 18:40Speaker 4: they do with Janie's out of the bottle? Gambling wise?
- 18:43Speaker 4: How do these sports entities stop what's going on?
- 18:47Speaker 6: Well, I mean how does the NBA fix it internally?
- 18:49Speaker 6: That's first and foremost. You know, how do they you know,
- 18:52Speaker 6: how do the teams, the organization is the commissioner, I mean,
- 18:55Speaker 6: how do they police these individuals so bad? I mean
- 18:57Speaker 6: it's a lifetime ban, I mean, not allowed on the
- 19:00Speaker 6: court as far as you know, the gambling stuff they
- 19:05Speaker 6: listen to the NBA, Major League Baseball. In the NBA,
- 19:07Speaker 6: they've already jumped in bed with DraftKings and scandal. They're
- 19:10Speaker 6: making a buck that's not going anywhere. I think the
- 19:13Speaker 6: bigger problem is inside the league. How do they police
- 19:17Speaker 6: it up? How do you police players? Your coaches, your assistant, everybody.
- 19:21Speaker 6: What's going on on you? How do you take care
- 19:22Speaker 6: of them?
- 19:23Speaker 4: I think the only way to do it is a
- 19:24Speaker 4: lifetime band. You can't gamble anymore. You can't certainly can't
- 19:27Speaker 4: gamble on your own sport. If you are caught any way,
- 19:29Speaker 4: shape or form, you're you're done for good. That I can't.
- 19:32Speaker 4: I can't see any other way to handle that.
- 19:34Speaker 6: Well, what's the same guy, Lee? A guy in the
- 19:36Speaker 6: NBA is sitting around on a Sunday afternoon and has
- 19:39Speaker 6: DraftKings and has scandal and he's not betting on the NFL.
- 19:43Speaker 6: I mean, these guys are for key. They have so
- 19:45Speaker 6: much money they don't know what to do with. And
- 19:46Speaker 6: it's but it's there. It's there for the taking temptations everywhere,
- 19:50Speaker 6: and it's got dentation anymore because it's legal.
- 19:52Speaker 4: Yeah, Hey, good stuff, buddy. His name is Keith O'Brien.
- 19:55Speaker 4: He's with ESPN. We love talking to him. I love
- 19:57Speaker 4: talking to him on my morning show here in Connecticut.

- 20:01Speaker 4: great night. All right, you got to keep O'Brien.

- 22:08Speaker 4: was filling informed he was with the President of the
- 22:10Speaker 4: United States, which was pretty amazing.
- 22:13Speaker 1: Before we get to our guest, the.

- 23:29Speaker 4: She has a bajillion followers up on social media, and
- 23:34Speaker 4: you know, I ran across her at a big Connecticut
- 23:37Speaker 4: Republican event and we got to talk and had her
- 23:41Speaker 4: on the show.
- 23:41Speaker 1: And she's phenomenal. Her name is Elsa Kurty.
- 23:44Speaker 4: She is a dynamic American media personality, podcaster, author. I
- 23:48Speaker 4: didn't realize how many books she has written until I
- 23:51Speaker 4: did a little deep dive today. Comedian outspoken conservative advocate
- 23:55Speaker 4: born again.
- 23:56Speaker 1: I can tell everybody when you were born.
- 23:58Speaker 4: But anyway, you come from a deep rooted law enforcement background,
- 24:03Speaker 4: and she identifies as a police wife.
- 24:05Speaker 1: So let's bring on, Elsa, Kurt.
- 24:06Speaker 4: Elsa, thanks for coming on. I appreciate it very very much.
- 24:08Speaker 4: How are you today?
- 24:10Speaker 8: I am doing very well. How are you tonight?
- 24:12Speaker 1: We're doing good. I need a tan. I look at
- 24:14Speaker 1: myself and this.
- 24:17Speaker 8: I need a chant. I'm looking at myself.
- 24:19Speaker 1: I do I'm not.
- 24:20Speaker 4: I mean, I don't know. I need to be outside
- 24:21Speaker 4: a little bit more. It's getting too cold. But anyway,
- 24:24Speaker 4: let's talk about you grew up in a look before
- 24:27Speaker 4: we get to some issues, let's tell everybody kind of
- 24:30Speaker 4: like who you are and where you came from, all
- 24:31Speaker 4: that good stuff. So growing up in a law enforcement family,
- 24:34Speaker 4: obviously it shaped your fear advocacy for first responders. And
- 24:40Speaker 4: I mean, give me a little background of the thirty
- 24:43Speaker 4: thousand foot view of you.
- 24:45Speaker 9: Sure, so I actually you know I was. I did not.
- 24:49Speaker 9: I actually did not grow up in a law enforcement background.
- 24:52Speaker 8: I married into it.
- 24:54Speaker 9: So this has been like the second half of my life.
- 24:58Speaker 8: This has been as part of law enforcement family.
- 25:01Speaker 9: And so you know, hearing that is probably, as you
- 25:05Speaker 9: can imagine, a little bit of a culture shock because.
- 25:07Speaker 8: We you know, we grew up respecting law enforcement.
- 25:10Speaker 9: You know, new people in law enforcement, of course, Uh,
- 25:14Speaker 9: but to be that closely connected to it, you get,
- 25:16Speaker 9: you know, you get that entirely different perspective than what
- 25:20Speaker 9: you had before. And uh, you know, the the biggest
- 25:23Speaker 9: thing that you find out very quickly is that there's
- 25:26Speaker 9: a lot of people that don't like you just for
- 25:29Speaker 9: the fact.
- 25:30Speaker 8: That you exist. That is it.
- 25:32Speaker 9: That is because you know, you you have associated or
- 25:36Speaker 9: are related to someone in law enforcement, and you are
- 25:39Speaker 9: by proxy, uh a bad person, and that is you know,
- 25:44Speaker 9: that shocked me the most. That was not something that
- 25:48Speaker 9: I could have ever even imagined again.
- 25:50Speaker 8: Because we weren't.
- 25:51Speaker 9: It wasn't part of our upbringing, wasn't part of our mentality.
- 25:55Speaker 9: You know, we were just taught to raise law uh
- 25:58Speaker 9: rains to respect law enforcement.
- 26:00Speaker 8: And that was kind of it. So to see this whole.
- 26:03Speaker 9: Other side of it was pretty eye opening for sure.
- 26:07Speaker 4: So Okay, so you weren't in that in the beginning,
- 26:09Speaker 4: but you obviously you've gotten into that, and we had
- 26:11Speaker 4: talked about how once you get into that, that law
- 26:14Speaker 4: enforcement community. It's such a close knit community, right, I
- 26:17Speaker 4: mean everybody is sort of with everybody all the time.
- 26:19Speaker 8: Correct, Yeah, it's you know, we kind of related to it.
- 26:23Speaker 8: It's like any family.
- 26:24Speaker 9: You know, you can fight like cats and dogs internally
- 26:27Speaker 9: amongst yourselves, but you know, you are protective and defensive
- 26:31Speaker 9: of your family.
- 26:32Speaker 8: And you know, that was.
- 26:34Speaker 9: The position that I found myself in when I met
- 26:37Speaker 9: my husband. You know, we were at one of and
- 26:40Speaker 9: we've been through many cycles of this, but we were
- 26:43Speaker 9: at one of the heights of the anti law enforcement
- 26:47Speaker 9: sentiment going on across the country, and you know, so
- 26:51Speaker 9: that was really a first taste in what that really
- 26:55Speaker 9: looked like. So for me, it was a matter of like, hey,
- 26:58Speaker 9: on a second, I know that these people and yes,
- 27:01Speaker 9: just like any profession.
- 27:03Speaker 8: And I kind of hate the phrase, but I'm going.
- 27:04Speaker 9: To use it anyway because it's such a well known phrase.
- 27:07Speaker 9: You know, there's bad apples, bad actors in every profession, right.
- 27:11Speaker 9: We all say that about every profession, at least I
- 27:13Speaker 9: think we do. And you know, and law enforcement is
- 27:17Speaker 9: no different. There are people that never should have been
- 27:20Speaker 9: police officers. There are people who were at one time
- 27:23Speaker 9: great police officers, and became not so great, you know,
- 27:27Speaker 9: more than anyone else. I think really good cops want
- 27:31Speaker 9: bad ones out, you know, So it's to me it
- 27:34Speaker 9: felt like such a no brainer, like, well done, nobody
- 27:36Speaker 9: wants I just reverted back to my nineteen eighty self.
- 27:40Speaker 8: Did you hear that with the no dah? Yeah, thank you,
- 27:42Speaker 8: very proud.
- 27:43Speaker 9: Of that one, duh. You know, really, and so I
- 27:49Speaker 9: felt very compelled to defend the good men and women
- 27:53Speaker 9: of law enforcement who really are in it for the
- 27:56Speaker 9: right reasons, doing the right things, and sacrificing so much
- 28:00Speaker 9: for their communities.
- 28:02Speaker 4: So you just showed everybody a little piece of why
- 28:04Speaker 4: you're so successful because you were funny. Now, so it's
- 28:08Speaker 4: not easy to be funny, right, we all know that
- 28:10Speaker 4: some people try to be funny and it's a complete disaster.
- 28:12Speaker 4: Politicians often try to be funny and it's a total disaster.
- 28:17Speaker 4: So your podcast, let's let's talk about that for a
- 28:20Speaker 4: couple of minutes. So you've got a whole bunch of followers.
- 28:22Speaker 4: It grows every single day, and you know, you sort
- 28:25Speaker 4: of this whole world, this podcast world, this ninety second
- 28:29Speaker 4: clip world where we're in consuming information and information in
- 28:33Speaker 4: these clips.
- 28:35Speaker 1: How did you you're so successful? How did just give
- 28:38Speaker 1: me that background? How did that happen? I?
- 28:41Speaker 9: You know, I wish I could tell you that there's
- 28:43Speaker 9: some great formula that I figured out, you know, like
- 28:46Speaker 9: how people say they figure out winning the lottery. I
- 28:51Speaker 9: am a notorious fly by the seat of my pants girl.
- 28:55Speaker 9: I used to call myself impulsive, and I have changed
- 28:58Speaker 9: that mindset and now I refer to it as being
- 29:02Speaker 9: a quick decision maker. Not impulsive, just a very quick
- 29:05Speaker 9: decision maker. And it was when I say, I literally
- 29:09Speaker 9: woke up one morning and said, you think I want
- 29:11Speaker 9: to do a podcast. Yeah, I'm going to do a podcast.
- 29:14Speaker 9: And was you know, getting the equipment and setting up,
- 29:17Speaker 9: you know, probably by that night. That is really the case.
- 29:22Speaker 9: Now did the following all that stuff come overnight? Absolutely not.
- 29:26Speaker 9: I've been plugging away at this for If you want
- 29:30Speaker 9: to count the books as part of the whole process,
- 29:33Speaker 9: will count that. So probably about ten twelve years that
- 29:36Speaker 9: I've been in this media realm, and it's just kind
- 29:40Speaker 9: of evolved and taken different shape. But the podcast really
- 29:45Speaker 9: start off just as an outlet in an avenue to
- 29:48Speaker 9: advocate for law enforcement families in particular, and it just
- 29:51Speaker 9: kind of snowballed and grew.
- 29:53Speaker 1: And you've written what twenty five books? Is that right?
- 29:55Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 29:56Speaker 8: Yeah, yeah, we're right around there. Yeah, it's a combination
- 29:59Speaker 8: of chill.
- 30:00Speaker 9: I always say, I grew up with my books, so
- 30:02Speaker 9: I started writing children's books, and then it moved into
- 30:06Speaker 9: young adult fiction, and then contemporary like contemporary women's fiction,
- 30:11Speaker 9: and then lastly or latest is nonfiction. So yeah, yeah,
- 30:19Speaker 9: I have to say again, I'm so blessed that I
- 30:21Speaker 9: was just afforded the opportunity to have the time to
- 30:23Speaker 9: be able to work on that the way that I
- 30:25Speaker 9: was able to, you know, tons of credit and gratitude
- 30:29Speaker 9: to my husband for just you know, helping me make
- 30:32Speaker 9: that a reality and just saying, you know what, I
- 30:34Speaker 9: believe in you, and I do it, just do it.
- 30:37Speaker 8: And it was low and bold who knew that this
- 30:41Speaker 8: is where it would end up.
- 30:43Speaker 4: So people alluded earlier that people sort of get their
- 30:46Speaker 4: information sometimes from these fifteen second, thirty second, ninety second
- 30:50Speaker 4: clips which you provide and other thousands of other people
- 30:53Speaker 4: provide with less success than you. But this media evolution
- 30:58Speaker 4: that we're undergoing right now, good bad. Your thoughts on
- 31:02Speaker 4: just the generality of it I mean, there's so many
- 31:05Speaker 4: different things going on, so many different places to consume information.
- 31:08Speaker 4: Some of it's not even close to being factual, some
- 31:11Speaker 4: of it is. I mean, but what are your general
- 31:13Speaker 4: thoughts on the new way that we sort of eat
- 31:16Speaker 4: up stuff?
- 31:17Speaker 5: Yeah?
- 31:17Speaker 9: You know what, Lee, I think good and bad. I
- 31:21Speaker 9: think just about with anything there is good and bad.
- 31:23Speaker 9: I think the good to come from it is the
- 31:27Speaker 9: independent journalism, the ability for people to seek out and
- 31:32Speaker 9: share their own information rather than just being spoon fed
- 31:35Speaker 9: whatever the I call it, the alphabet media. You know,
- 31:38Speaker 9: whatever the alphabet media is feeding you today. You have
- 31:42Speaker 9: this opportunity now to be an independent journalist and do
- 31:45Speaker 9: that and find out for yourself, and the bad of
- 31:49Speaker 9: that is literally the exact same.
- 31:51Speaker 8: Thing right where.
- 31:52Speaker 9: You know, now you have all of these independent journalists,
- 31:56Speaker 9: you know, able to essentially do the same thing that
- 31:59Speaker 9: the national is doing, which is give a slanted perspective,
- 32:03Speaker 9: a bias perspective on a topic or an item or situation,
- 32:07Speaker 9: whatever it might be. And you know, any given number
- 32:11Speaker 9: of people will hear that perspective and either take it
- 32:14Speaker 9: at face value and run with it as absolute truth,
- 32:18Speaker 9: or they'll argue with it. You know, I think overall,
- 32:22Speaker 9: with specific regard to podcasting and independent journalism, I think
- 32:28Speaker 9: it is overall a very good thing because the place
- 32:31Speaker 9: we had gotten to and the place that we're at
- 32:33Speaker 9: with half of the country, you know, the divisiveness is
- 32:37Speaker 9: really wild, and you.
- 32:39Speaker 4: Sprinkle in AI and that becomes even it becomes a little.
- 32:42Speaker 1: Bit more chaotic, I think.
- 32:43Speaker 4: And I don't know how we're going to handle that,
- 32:45Speaker 4: But anyway we're talking, you can you.
- 32:47Speaker 1: Stick around one more break? Absolutely all right, fantastic. So
- 32:50Speaker 1: we're going to stick around.
- 32:50Speaker 4: We're going to keep tell us one more break and
- 32:52Speaker 4: we'll come back talk a little bit more about maybe
- 32:54Speaker 4: some of the issues at hand. He interviews people as well,
- 32:58Speaker 4: and I, you know, I'd rather talk about that's the
- 33:00Speaker 4: way I am.
- 33:00Speaker 1: I'd rather talk about fun stuff. But there's so much
- 33:02Speaker 1: gloom and doom in the world.
- 33:04Speaker 4: Right now it's impossible to divorce yourself from all of that.
- 33:07Speaker 1: So anyway, come back. We'll be back in just a
- 33:09Speaker 1: couple of minutes.

- 36:48Speaker 4: Lee Elsie filling in for Wayne. Our guest has Elsa Kurt,
- 36:51Speaker 4: a dynamic American media personality.
- 36:54Speaker 1: We are lucky to get a chance to chat with her.
- 36:57Speaker 1: You know else.
- 36:58Speaker 4: Before we went to the break, I forgot. That's what
- 37:01Speaker 4: I do as I get older, I forget. But I
- 37:02Speaker 4: wanted to give everybody a chance to find out where
- 37:05Speaker 4: you are. Where do they find you? Where do they
- 37:07Speaker 4: find the podcast? Where do they find all the info?
- 37:09Speaker 8: Let's do that, Thank you, Thank you.
- 37:11Speaker 9: The easiest way to find everything is elsaker dot com.
- 37:14Speaker 9: It gives you all of my links to all of
- 37:16Speaker 9: my stuff and things, all the different platforms I'm on, Facebook, Instagram,
- 37:22Speaker 9: TikTok x, so you name it, YouTube, all of them
- 37:25Speaker 9: everywhere all the time.
- 37:27Speaker 1: Well, that's good, all the time, constantly all the time.
- 37:33Speaker 1: That's pretty good. You're doing pretty good. Let me ask you.
- 37:35Speaker 1: We've talked about this before.
- 37:37Speaker 4: I wanted to ask you about No King's Day and
- 37:40Speaker 4: how did it impact you?
- 37:41Speaker 1: At all.
- 37:41Speaker 4: Did you have anybody that you knew that went to
- 37:43Speaker 4: these rallies. Did you happen to stop by or rally?
- 37:46Speaker 4: What were your thoughts on No King's Day?
- 37:48Speaker 9: Yeah, no, I'm such a recluse. I try to avoid
- 37:51Speaker 9: going to pretty much everything.
- 37:53Speaker 6: I know.
- 37:53Speaker 8: That sounded terrible, but it's the truth. I can't lie,
- 37:57Speaker 8: you know.
- 37:57Speaker 9: I did not know until after the fact that I
- 38:00Speaker 9: know somebody who went. We are on the opposite sides
- 38:03Speaker 9: of the political spectrum there, and she went, and of
- 38:07Speaker 9: course she thought it was wonderful and delightful, and we
- 38:09Speaker 9: did not have much of a conversation about it, you know.
- 38:12Speaker 8: So I can tell you what I saw from from.
- 38:15Speaker 9: The tons of video and all of the examples out
- 38:19Speaker 9: there from different parts of the country, And you know,
- 38:22Speaker 9: the best way I can sum it up is to
- 38:24Speaker 9: call it moral rocked on full display, just moral decay.
- 38:33Speaker 8: It was so disheartening.
- 38:36Speaker 9: I think that's the mildest way I could put it,
- 38:38Speaker 9: you know, And I try to not get pretty as
- 38:42Speaker 9: much as possible. You know, I'm a Christian, so I fully,
- 38:45Speaker 9: in one hundred percent believe that God is in control
- 38:48Speaker 9: and he will make whatever evil go for good. He
- 38:52Speaker 9: will make it for good. So you know, I try
- 38:55Speaker 9: and keep my head on as far as that is concerned.
- 38:58Speaker 9: But you know, when you see something like and I'll
- 39:00Speaker 9: call her out my name, Lucy Rodriguez, the elementary school
- 39:04Speaker 9: teacher who was caught on recorded simulating Charlie Kirk's assassination
- 39:13Speaker 9: and smiling and just with glee.
- 39:15Speaker 8: And if that doesn't sum it.
- 39:18Speaker 9: All up right there, And I know people are going
- 39:20Speaker 9: to you know, are you goes? Oh, there was lots
- 39:22Speaker 9: of peaceful protests. I'm sure there were. I'm sure there were.
- 39:26Speaker 9: But if this is what is representing you, I think
- 39:29Speaker 9: you should probably be rethinking your alignments there. But yeah,
- 39:34Speaker 9: very very hard to watch.
- 39:37Speaker 4: Yeah, No, I agree with that one thousand percent. And
- 39:39Speaker 4: a couple of things that took away. Either you had
- 39:41Speaker 4: purple hair, blue hair, or gray hair. It was one
- 39:44Speaker 4: of the three. You didn't have. You know, there wasn't
- 39:46Speaker 4: a lot and there wasn't any diversity. That was the
- 39:48Speaker 4: one thing that I noticed too, which I'm sure has
- 39:51Speaker 4: to rub them the wrong way. You couldn't see a
- 39:54Speaker 4: black person anywhere in any of the photos that I
- 39:57Speaker 4: got a chance to watch for any of the videos,
- 39:58Speaker 4: So I don't know where they were, but they certainly
- 40:00Speaker 4: weren't on board with what that progressive movement wants to
- 40:03Speaker 4: push forward here here in Connecticut.
- 40:06Speaker 1: There was a big Ice issue.
- 40:07Speaker 4: I'm sure you've seen it where Ice was told that
- 40:11Speaker 4: they they're deplorable and they're disgusting, and they need to
- 40:14Speaker 4: tell the towns when they're coming around up the illegals.
- 40:18Speaker 1: What are your thoughts on that?
- 40:20Speaker 8: Yeah, the you know, the absurdity.
- 40:23Speaker 9: I think we're all so sick and tired of these
- 40:27Speaker 9: blue haired liberals and you know, let's call it what
- 40:29Speaker 9: it is. It's typically these you know, middle aged white women,
- 40:34Speaker 9: white liberal women, you know, waving their Starbucks around and
- 40:38Speaker 9: their iPhone and telling you, you know, about oppression and
- 40:41Speaker 9: your white privilege and.
- 40:42Speaker 8: All of those things. And it's just become such a caricature.
- 40:46Speaker 9: But you know, as far as it comes to our
- 40:49Speaker 9: federal agents, you know, that is something that now that
- 40:53Speaker 9: does make me angry. It makes me very angry because
- 40:56Speaker 9: these are people who are calling for you know, the
- 40:59Speaker 9: harm and the injury not only to these agents, but
- 41:03Speaker 9: but doxing them and harassing their families and you know,
- 41:07Speaker 9: their children. Uh, this is a level of just absolute
- 41:14Speaker 9: abhorrence that cannot be accepted under any circumstances. And I
- 41:20Speaker 9: really want to see these people pursued aggressively with the
- 41:24Speaker 9: fullest extent of the law.
- 41:26Speaker 8: And you know they're there in lies.
- 41:28Speaker 9: The difference between us and them, uh is that you know,
- 41:32Speaker 9: we call for just means, they call for violence, you know,
- 41:35Speaker 9: And I just want accountability and and I think that's
- 41:38Speaker 9: what we have to insist on. So and we're making
- 41:41Speaker 9: great steps in that, you know, with you know, with
- 41:44Speaker 9: Antifa being designated as a terrorist group, as they very
- 41:48Speaker 9: well should be. The tolerance for this behavior and these
- 41:52Speaker 9: actions has to come to a dead stop. And I know,
- 41:55Speaker 9: you know, we're in a liberal state. I know the
- 41:57Speaker 9: odds of that are slim.
- 41:59Speaker 4: But yeah, well I listen, we keep fighting, We keep
- 42:02Speaker 4: fighting it out, and I think in this state, in Connecticut,
- 42:05Speaker 4: I do feel like in particular when it comes to
- 42:07Speaker 4: law enforcement, despite their the sum detractors, I think it's
- 42:11Speaker 4: turned around significantly.
- 42:13Speaker 1: Also, we got to run because the music is playing.
- 42:15Speaker 1: But one more time, tell everybody where they can find you.
- 42:19Speaker 9: Also, Kurt dot com, confine me over there and that'll send.
- 42:21Speaker 8: You into all my other links. Thank you so much, Lee,
- 42:24Speaker 8: let's do it again.
- 42:24Speaker 1: We'll next time we'll just have we'll try.
- 42:26Speaker 4: To have fun, tell jokes for thirty minutes because sometimes
- 42:29Speaker 4: the news can be overwhelming and depressing.
- 42:31Speaker 1: But thank you so much for coming on tonight. I
- 42:32Speaker 1: appreciate it very much.
- 42:34Speaker 8: Thank you.
- 42:35Speaker 4: All right, coming up after the top of the hour,
- 42:37Speaker 4: I'm going to jump into the deep end of the
- 42:39Speaker 4: pool with the No Kings rally. Talk a little bit
- 42:41Speaker 4: about that. Then the bottom of next hour, talk about
- 42:44Speaker 4: law enforcement. We're going to have law enforcement. Today's Kyle
- 42:47Speaker 4: reyis with us at seven thirty five Eastern.
- 42:51Speaker 1: What is that four to thirty five out in the
- 42:53Speaker 1: West Coast, So.
- 42:53Speaker 4: Stick around a lot to get to still sixty minutes
- 42:56Speaker 4: in the book, sixty minutes to go.
- 42:58Speaker 1: Keep it here. It's the war zone.
