SPEAKER_01: Welcome to these two shouldn't have a podcast.
• 0:01
SPEAKER_01: Coming up today, conspiracy theories, and we actually agree on one for the change.
• 0:07
SPEAKER_02: I don't think we've ever been and set foot on the moon.
• 0:11
  SPEAKER_01: I don't think we've been on the moon.
• 0:14
SPEAKER_01: You actually agree with me.
• 0:16
  SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
• 0:16
SPEAKER_01: So in the 60s we're supposed to have walked on the moon.
• 0:19
  SPEAKER_01: Apparently.
• 0:20
  SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
• 0:20
  SPEAKER_00: When's it done a since?
• 0:22
SPEAKER_01: Well, this is one of the things in a conspiracy.
• 0:25
SPEAKER_01: I've got bags, them big bags.
• 0:28
SPEAKER_01: Full of bags of them big bags.
• 0:30
SPEAKER_02: You've got back for lives, full of back for lives.
• 0:32
  SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
• 0:32
  SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
• 0:33
SPEAKER_02: I mean, that's a whole different level of compulsion that.
• 0:36
  SPEAKER_02: When I eat a yoghurt, yeah.
• 0:40
SPEAKER_02: And I pull the top off and spoon it into my mouth.
• 0:43
  SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
• 0:44
SPEAKER_02: I am not thinking, hmm, I can use that again.
• 0:48
  SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
• 0:48
SPEAKER_02: I don't even know where I'm going to find a top that's going to fit it.
• 0:51
  SPEAKER_02: Right.
• 0:52
  SPEAKER_02: But convince me.
• 1:26
SPEAKER_01: You've got someone on your mind, I can tell.
• 1:27
  SPEAKER_01: It's straight away.
• 1:29
SPEAKER_01: The fact you're staring into space, you're thinking, I can hear the cogs spinning already.
• 1:34
  SPEAKER_01: That's that's me that's me processing face.
• 1:36
  SPEAKER_02: Well you're processing.
• 1:37
SPEAKER_02: What I thought it'd be really interesting to do, right?
• 1:40
SPEAKER_02: Um we're we're northern brick lads, right?
• 1:43
  SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
• 1:44
SPEAKER_02: Um, so we know that there is sometimes a little bit of a northern-southern thing going on, and there's things that we do in the north that that they don't necessarily do in the south, but let's go further afield, right?
• 1:54
  SPEAKER_01: Oh, okay.
• 1:55
SPEAKER_01: We're going up to Scotland.
• 1:57
SPEAKER_01: It's further afield, but go on, anyway.
• 1:59
  SPEAKER_02: It's not afield, Scotland.
• 2:01
  SPEAKER_02: There's plenty though.
• 2:02
  SPEAKER_02: Okay.
• 2:03
  SPEAKER_02: But yeah, sorry.
• 2:04
SPEAKER_02: Um, but yeah, I thought, you know, we've we've got viewers, listeners, um, audience, which are looking at our stats, they're over in Canada, US, they're over throughout Europe.
• 2:15
  SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
• 2:15
SPEAKER_02: I thought it'd be really interesting because these are the certain things that we just take for granted that we do that that we think are normal, right?
• 2:23
  SPEAKER_02: Right.
• 2:24
SPEAKER_02: But other people are probably gonna think they're really fucking weird.
• 2:27
  SPEAKER_02: Okay.
• 2:27
  SPEAKER_02: Right.
• 2:28
SPEAKER_02: So, for for example, I can pretty much guarantee that you in your house have got either a drawer or a box or a container or an area where you keep shopping bags inside shopping bags, inside shopping bags.
• 2:47
SPEAKER_02: You've got a store of used shopping bags.
• 2:50
SPEAKER_01: Yeah, you do don't, you do, don't you?
• 2:54
SPEAKER_01: Uh, even though you have to pay for bags now, yeah.
• 2:57
SPEAKER_01: You still don't go to shop with your bags you've got.
• 3:00
  SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
• 3:00
SPEAKER_02: In our garage, we must have about 74 shopping bags.
• 3:04
  SPEAKER_02: Got loads.
• 3:04
SPEAKER_02: We've got bags for life, but we've also got these disposable ones that we keep.
• 3:08
SPEAKER_02: And I don't know why we keep them.
• 3:10
SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I mean we've got the you know, the good good pound bags that you get, you know, the um the ones that you pay like a good pound for.
• 3:20
SPEAKER_01: As a as opposed to a bad pound.
• 3:22
  SPEAKER_01: Yeah, yeah.
• 3:22
  SPEAKER_01: A smelly pound.
• 3:23
  SPEAKER_01: A smelly pound.
• 3:24
  SPEAKER_01: Is it smell coin?
• 3:25
SPEAKER_01: The sound ones, you know, the the the heavy duty ones.
• 3:28
SPEAKER_01: You mean the bag for life?
• 3:30
SPEAKER_01: No, because a carrier bag used to be a bag for life, didn't it?
• 3:33
  SPEAKER_01: No.
• 3:34
  SPEAKER_01: It did.
• 3:34
  SPEAKER_01: Carrier bags broke, yeah.
• 3:36
SPEAKER_01: But they were so you take them back.
• 3:38
SPEAKER_01: I mean, whoever done that, but people would take them back to the shop and they'd replace it.
• 3:43
SPEAKER_01: That's why it was called a bag for life.
• 3:44
SPEAKER_01: What are you talking about?
• 3:45
SPEAKER_01: Bags for life carrier bags.
• 3:46
SPEAKER_01: This is just a thing in Liverpool.
• 3:48
  SPEAKER_01: No.
• 3:49
  SPEAKER_01: A bag for life.
• 3:51
SPEAKER_01: So you go Asda and other supermarkets, and you buy this bag for life, which was just a carrier bag, right?
• 3:58
SPEAKER_01: It cost you 20 pence back then, and it was a bag for life that if it ripped, you just took it back and they give you another carrier bag.
• 4:05
  SPEAKER_02: No way, yeah.
• 4:06
SPEAKER_02: Well, bag for life now is a more normally expensive plasticky too.
• 4:10
SPEAKER_01: So, anyway, back to your point.
• 4:12
SPEAKER_01: I've got bags, them big bags, full of bags of them big bags.
• 4:16
SPEAKER_02: You've got back for life's full of bag for life, yeah.
• 4:19
SPEAKER_02: Yeah, I mean, that's a whole different level of compulsion that's a bad habit.
• 4:23
SPEAKER_02: I know a good habit coach that could probably help you with that.
• 4:26
  SPEAKER_01: It's it's it's just I don't know, but you never take them.
• 4:32
SPEAKER_01: No, or if you are taking a bag, do you look to see what plan to shop the bags from?
• 4:38
  SPEAKER_02: No.
• 4:39
SPEAKER_01: Oh, I do, I do, because I'm not walking around with uh one of the yeah, one of the lesser supermarket bags.
• 4:44
  SPEAKER_01: I'm I'm just not doing it.
• 4:46
SPEAKER_02: To be fair, I don't tend to take bags in anyway.
• 4:48
SPEAKER_02: So you're studying a queue, right, at the supermarket, and there's some arsehole who's brought all the bags with them, yeah, and it's going beep, beep, beep through the till, and then uh packing the fucking bags.
• 5:01
SPEAKER_02: It's like, no, fuck that, just dump it all back in the fucking trolley, pack in your own time, don't pack in my time, don't make me wait.
• 5:08
  SPEAKER_02: Fuck off.
• 5:10
SPEAKER_02: So I don't do it because I think it's just fucking rude.
• 5:12
SPEAKER_02: So I'll have loads of bags in my boot, but I'll take the shopping out back in the trolley to the car and I'll bag it up in my boot.
• 5:17
  SPEAKER_01: Oh, okay.
• 5:18
SPEAKER_02: Do you not do that?
• 5:20
SPEAKER_02: Are you one of these annoying people who bags up at the till?
• 5:25
  SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
• 5:26
  SPEAKER_02: Why?
• 5:27
  SPEAKER_01: Because I can.
• 5:28
  SPEAKER_01: But don't don't but but why?
• 5:31
  SPEAKER_01: Because I'm entitled to.
• 5:33
SPEAKER_01: I'm queued up like everybody else.
• 5:34
SPEAKER_01: But now you're making all the other people wait longer.
• 5:37
SPEAKER_01: I don't care about that, they made me wait anyway.
• 5:39
SPEAKER_01: As as as I've said in previous episodes, there's nothing worse than shopping anyway.
• 5:43
SPEAKER_01: That's true, you know what I mean?
• 5:44
SPEAKER_01: But generally, yeah, I have bags full of bags.
• 5:47
SPEAKER_02: So bags full of bags.
• 5:49
SPEAKER_02: That's I I would say that is that is definitely a British thing.
• 5:52
  SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I would say it's a British thing.
• 5:54
SPEAKER_01: Uh so I don't know whether this is a total British thing, because I've been married like nearly 30 years now, and my wife's that's a British thing.
• 6:02
SPEAKER_01: Well, is it but so my wife's from India, so she's India, and we have tubs, tubs coming out of tubs, like you know, like Tupperware tubs technically, yes, but no, because they're more like yogurt pots and and mega and margarine and margarine pots, right?
• 6:28
SPEAKER_02: Stop, stop a minute, stop.
• 6:32
SPEAKER_02: So I understand Tupperware, yes, it's it's a good concept, especially with a little flap at the top where you can let the condensation out and stuff like that.
• 6:40
  SPEAKER_02: That's that's good.
• 6:41
SPEAKER_02: Yeah, with the little clamped down lever things at the side.
• 6:43
  SPEAKER_02: Yeah, fucking brilliant.
• 6:44
  SPEAKER_02: Love them, they're great.
• 6:45
  SPEAKER_02: Yeah, yeah.
• 6:47
SPEAKER_02: To a certain extent, I understand when you've had a takeaway, a curry or a Chinese, sometimes you get some quite good quality pots, not the foil ones, the ones that are reasonable, and you think you're gonna be like, I can probably fucking use that again.
• 7:00
SPEAKER_02: So you you you you wash it, yeah, but you know, you can you can wash them, you can use them again.
• 7:05
SPEAKER_02: When I eat a yogurt, yeah, and I pull the top off and spoon it into my mouth, yeah.
• 7:12
SPEAKER_02: I am not thinking, hmm, I can fucking use that again.
• 7:17
  SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
• 7:17
SPEAKER_02: First of all, first floor in that is, I don't even know where I'm gonna find a fucking top that's gonna fit it.
• 7:22
  SPEAKER_01: Right.
• 7:23
  SPEAKER_01: But convince me.
• 7:24
SPEAKER_01: So it's not them type of yogurts?
• 7:27
  SPEAKER_01: Okay.
• 7:27
SPEAKER_01: So do you know, like the Greek yogurt, the big, the big ones?
• 7:31
SPEAKER_01: So an Asian plastic top as well as the and it and a lot of Asian families they will have the natural yogurt.
• 7:38
  SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
• 7:39
SPEAKER_01: I know we do in other families.
• 7:41
SPEAKER_01: I know what you mean as well.
• 7:41
SPEAKER_01: I know what you mean.
• 7:42
SPEAKER_01: We have a lot of the natural yogurt, so it has a plastic lid on it.
• 7:45
SPEAKER_01: So yeah, once that's empty, that gets washed out, providing the lid's not split.
• 7:50
SPEAKER_01: I mean, there I thought there's been times that I'm coming out here, so I'm coming out here.
• 7:54
  SPEAKER_01: Coming out.
• 7:54
  SPEAKER_01: Yeah, yeah.
• 7:55
SPEAKER_01: There's times when I've actually accidentally split it on purpose so we can't keep the tub.
• 7:59
  SPEAKER_01: I know, yeah.
• 8:00
SPEAKER_01: I'm gonna get shot when I get old.
• 8:02
SPEAKER_01: But then there's also so like the best way to describe it, sweet jars and things.
• 8:09
SPEAKER_01: You know, you have you used to get your sweets in a plastic jar, as in you go in the shop and ask for like 20 pence worth of sherbet or something, and the port jar.
• 8:19
SPEAKER_01: Yeah, they poured it out of a jar with those big bottles with the plasticky top.
• 8:24
SPEAKER_01: Yeah, we've got them as well.
• 8:25
SPEAKER_02: What do you get them from?
• 8:26
SPEAKER_02: What do you get to get them?
• 8:28
  SPEAKER_01: Well, uh uh a brother's got a shop.
• 8:30
  SPEAKER_01: Oh.
• 8:31
SPEAKER_01: Without sounding like stereotypical Indian's got a shop, that sort of thing, you know what I mean?
• 8:36
SPEAKER_01: They've got a shop, so yeah, and when they're empty, oh we have to wash them out and get them cleaned, and that that'll be full of stuff.
• 8:43
SPEAKER_02: I'm struggling a little bit though with with like the yogurt pot things.
• 8:47
  SPEAKER_01: You're right.
• 8:48
SPEAKER_02: Or or the sweet jar things.
• 8:50
SPEAKER_02: Yeah, what the fuck are you gonna put in that?
• 8:52
SPEAKER_02: I mean, if I've done like chicken and rice, I'll put it in a little tupperware.
• 8:57
SPEAKER_02: Yeah, if I've done a little stir fry, I'll put it in tupperware.
• 8:59
  SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
• 8:59
SPEAKER_02: I don't want to put seven fucking portions of stir fry in a sweet jar.
• 9:06
  SPEAKER_02: No, no, no.
• 9:07
  SPEAKER_02: So the spaghetti?
• 9:09
  SPEAKER_01: No.
• 9:10
SPEAKER_01: So so what happens with the yogurt tubs will be some of the sauces, uh, just the sauce, you know, um of the other bits and pieces that might just go in the fridge for another day, or sometimes goes in the freezer for another week.
• 9:26
SPEAKER_02: Oh, so it's so it's a way of like storing it's gonna be ingredients.
• 9:30
SPEAKER_01: But like you said, most people will have proper tubs to do that.
• 9:33
  SPEAKER_01: Yeah, no, we don't.
• 9:34
SPEAKER_01: Why don't you spy loads of proper tubs?
• 9:37
SPEAKER_01: What because she's already bought the yogurt, yeah.
• 9:42
SPEAKER_01: Hey, I I want to know whether other sort of British Indian families do this as well because it'll be interesting to know whether it's just mine and I'm just getting played.
• 9:53
  SPEAKER_02: I said, Paul, you're being you're being sensitive.
• 9:55
  SPEAKER_01: Yeah, yeah.
• 9:56
SPEAKER_01: We all do this, however, I know the most of them do it from her side of the family, so it might just it might be a family thing.
• 10:07
SPEAKER_01: I went round to her brother's the other day and he was sorting out his tubs.
• 10:12
  SPEAKER_02: Sorting his tubs.
• 10:14
SPEAKER_01: And I swear to God, if there wasn't a hundred tubs on his dining table, I'm not a white guy.
• 10:23
SPEAKER_01: There was it was horrendous.
• 10:25
SPEAKER_01: It was like, what are you doing with them?
• 10:27
SPEAKER_01: I didn't get into it because it wasn't it's just not it's just not worth it.
• 10:31
SPEAKER_01: But let me know in the comments is this my house or my family, or is this a a common thing?
• 10:41
SPEAKER_01: Because I don't know whether I'm actually being played just to get these tubs in the house.
• 10:46
SPEAKER_01: But also it's borderline holding that it is, but also it goes slightly one step further as well.
• 10:53
  SPEAKER_01: That's not enough.
• 10:55
SPEAKER_02: No, that it no, it is enough.
• 10:58
  SPEAKER_01: Yeah, go on.
• 10:59
SPEAKER_01: It goes slightly one step further.
• 11:01
  SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
• 11:02
  SPEAKER_01: Baby formula the tins.
• 11:06
SPEAKER_02: Yeah, that they have like a ring pull and then they have the plastic top thing that yeah.
• 11:10
SPEAKER_01: So we have in our house, I think at last count, was 15 baby formula tins, which don't have food in for babies, which uh store Indian delights, as the wife would call them.
• 11:30
  SPEAKER_01: Delights?
• 11:30
  SPEAKER_01: Oh, I I'm intrigued.
• 11:32
SPEAKER_01: I have no idea what these are because I don't eat Indian food really.
• 11:36
  SPEAKER_02: So they're ingredient-related things that she'll she'll use.
• 11:40
SPEAKER_02: Like like like that we might use parsley or or certain things.
• 11:44
SPEAKER_01: Yeah, yeah, so yeah, and stuff like that, but we have them in like sorts of baby formula tins.
• 11:52
SPEAKER_01: Most people just have a spice jar.
• 11:54
  SPEAKER_01: Are they labelled?
• 11:56
SPEAKER_01: They are now they are now, because I'm like, even do you even know what's yeah, how do you know?
• 12:02
SPEAKER_01: You know, so we have a cupboard full of them.
• 12:05
  SPEAKER_02: I mean they're quite big.
• 12:06
SPEAKER_02: I mean the diameter of them, I mean they're like little paint pots.
• 12:09
SPEAKER_02: In fact, medium-sized paint pots.
• 12:11
  SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
• 12:12
SPEAKER_02: That's that's a lot of uh space taken up, that.
• 12:15
  SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
• 12:16
SPEAKER_02: Does that not annoy you?
• 12:19
SPEAKER_01: Does it sound like it annoys me?
• 12:20
SPEAKER_01: I mean, maybe you need to put your foot down.
• 12:22
  SPEAKER_01: Who's who's who's the man of the house?
• 12:25
  SPEAKER_01: Oh, the wife.
• 12:28
  SPEAKER_01: I don't know which way, but I don't know.
• 12:32
SPEAKER_02: So so we've got shopping bags in shopping bags, British thing.
• 12:35
SPEAKER_02: Do you have the British thing?
• 12:37
SPEAKER_02: We've we've got the the the Indian type Tupperware.
• 12:43
  SPEAKER_02: Tupperware.
• 12:43
  SPEAKER_02: I like it.
• 12:44
  SPEAKER_02: Indian Tupperware.
• 12:45
  SPEAKER_02: Indian Tupperware compulsion.
• 12:48
  SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
• 12:48
SPEAKER_02: Um, which is not just the British Tupperware compulsion, it's almost like magnify that by ten.
• 12:54
SPEAKER_02: Yeah, but I want to know if just British people do that as well.
• 12:57
SPEAKER_02: Well, we we've got we've got a cupboard um downstairs, which is just it's got loads of Tupperware and shit in it.
• 13:02
SPEAKER_01: Yeah, Tupperware though, as in a proper Tupperware.
• 13:06
SPEAKER_02: Yeah, but there's some little there's some little pot type things as well, which in fact, no, they there's we've got lots of different types of pots and stuff, but they are normally bought purposely for certain things.
• 13:19
SPEAKER_02: We don't tend to keep food packaging from other things and reuse them as something different.
• 13:24
SPEAKER_02: So there might be a little bit of a difference there.
• 13:26
SPEAKER_02: But either way, let us know um if this is just uh a Paul's house thing or whether this is just a Paul's wife's family thing or whether this goes further afterward.
• 13:35
SPEAKER_01: I I seriously need to know this after the coming up to 13 years.
• 13:40
SPEAKER_02: Look, let's face it, if even if even even if it turns out that right that this is just a you thing, you and your wife thing, you're not gonna do anything about it.
• 13:53
SPEAKER_01: No, but I could actually turn round and go, well, it's not an Indian thing.
• 13:59
SPEAKER_02: Yeah, but she she could just say, Yeah, but it's a me thing.
• 14:02
SPEAKER_02: And you'd still you'd still let her do it.
• 14:04
SPEAKER_01: Yeah, but we also have a flour bin and a rice bin.
• 14:09
  SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
• 14:11
  SPEAKER_02: You don't mean a bin.
• 14:13
  SPEAKER_02: A bin.
• 14:14
  SPEAKER_02: A bin?
• 14:14
  SPEAKER_02: A bin.
• 14:15
  SPEAKER_02: On the floor.
• 14:16
  SPEAKER_02: Well, yeah, it's a rubbish.
• 14:17
SPEAKER_01: Well, it's got no rubbish in it, it's got rice and flour in it.
• 14:20
SPEAKER_01: But is it a bin or is it just a machine?
• 14:22
  SPEAKER_01: Yeah, no, it's a bin.
• 14:23
  SPEAKER_01: A bin?
• 14:24
  SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
• 14:24
  SPEAKER_01: So let me explain.
• 14:26
  SPEAKER_01: It's a garden bin.
• 14:27
SPEAKER_01: You know the big black bins you get?
• 14:30
SPEAKER_01: You know the big black bins you get outside in the garden?
• 14:32
  SPEAKER_01: I mean a big bin.
• 14:34
  SPEAKER_01: Not a wheelie bin.
• 14:35
SPEAKER_01: You know, like the garden bins.
• 14:37
  SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
• 14:38
SPEAKER_01: Yeah, with the lid on and the you have the little fold-ins and yeah, we've got two of them.
• 14:43
SPEAKER_01: One with flour in, one with rice in.
• 14:45
SPEAKER_01: Let me know whether that's that's an Indian thing as well.
• 14:48
  SPEAKER_01: A whole bin?
• 14:51
  SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
• 14:52
SPEAKER_02: But why don't you just have a bag of flour in the cupboard?
• 14:55
SPEAKER_02: Or a couple of bags of rice.
• 14:56
SPEAKER_02: We've got like a container that we tip the rice into, but to be fair, it only holds about one and a half fucking bags of rice, which is stupid, because we've also then got loads of bags of rice in the cupboard as well.
• 15:06
  SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
• 15:07
  SPEAKER_01: But a bin.
• 15:08
SPEAKER_01: Yeah, so she'll buy like um a 25 kilo rice, 25 kilo flour.
• 15:15
  SPEAKER_01: That's like a bag of cement.
• 15:17
  SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
• 15:18
SPEAKER_01: So we have to put that somewhere so it goes in a bin.
• 15:21
SPEAKER_01: Why don't you just buy smaller, smaller amounts of rice?
• 15:26
SPEAKER_01: I mean, you're looking at me now like that's a really alien fucking concept.
• 15:30
SPEAKER_01: So, well, it is in our family because of the amount they use.
• 15:35
SPEAKER_02: Oh, well if they if they're gonna use if that's a week's worth, fair enough.
• 15:38
  SPEAKER_02: I get you.
• 15:38
SPEAKER_01: But it's not, it's probably a month's worth, maybe, but it's just getting it in, you know.
• 15:43
  SPEAKER_02: Alright, fair enough.
• 15:44
  SPEAKER_02: I mean, it's a good thing.
• 15:44
SPEAKER_01: Yeah, so we have two two bins as well.
• 15:47
SPEAKER_02: I I wouldn't say that again, I think that's probably more of a British Indian type blend.
• 15:53
  SPEAKER_01: I don't know, mate.
• 15:54
  SPEAKER_01: I don't know.
• 15:55
SPEAKER_01: I'd like to know in the in the comments again.
• 15:58
SPEAKER_02: So let's let's let's think about other true northern Brit things.
• 16:03
  SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
• 16:04
  SPEAKER_02: I bet you've got a messy drawer.
• 16:07
SPEAKER_01: About 17 messy drawers, but but there's one drawer, right?
• 16:11
SPEAKER_02: That once you can't find something, you think, oh, we'll check the messy drawer.
• 16:15
SPEAKER_02: And you actually call it a messy drawer, yeah.
• 16:17
  SPEAKER_02: Right?
• 16:17
SPEAKER_02: Or I bet you've got a batteries uh a draw and your messy drawer might have batteries in, or you might have a completely separate batteries drawer.
• 16:24
SPEAKER_01: You've got a battery tub, but yeah, we've got tubs for everything, mate.
• 16:28
SPEAKER_01: Our house is full of tubs.
• 16:29
SPEAKER_02: But a messy drawer, I think I think a messy drawer is a British thing.
• 16:32
SPEAKER_02: Having a messy drawer, yeah.
• 16:34
SPEAKER_02: A drawer where you can just put any old shit in it, it doesn't really matter, it's not organised, and if you can't find something anywhere else, it's in the messy drawer.
• 16:42
SPEAKER_02: So is the messy drawer in the kitchen though?
• 16:44
SPEAKER_02: Well, we've got messy drawers everywhere.
• 16:45
SPEAKER_02: We've got a messy drawer in the kitchen, we've got two messy drawers in the living room.
• 16:50
SPEAKER_02: Um I mean I've what what I'm pointing, no one can see, but but I'm pointing at my drawers there in my desk.
• 16:56
SPEAKER_02: I've got one of my drawers is a messy drawer.
• 16:58
  SPEAKER_02: Nice.
• 16:59
SPEAKER_02: It's a drawer that you can just use as an excuse to dump shit in that you've picked up and and you can't be asked to put in its proper place.
• 17:07
SPEAKER_02: It can't get it in the mess, it goes in the messy drawer.
• 17:08
  SPEAKER_01: I get it, I get it.
• 17:10
SPEAKER_01: Um I think every drawer in our house is like that though, to be honest.
• 17:13
  SPEAKER_01: Fair enough.
• 17:14
SPEAKER_02: So you don't have to you don't have separate drawers for separate things.
• 17:16
SPEAKER_01: We have separate drawer for the cutlery.
• 17:19
  SPEAKER_01: Well yeah.
• 17:20
SPEAKER_01: You know me cutlery and utensils or no, we have a separate drawer for utensils.
• 17:24
SPEAKER_01: Oh we also have two tubs.
• 17:26
  SPEAKER_01: Tubs again.
• 17:27
SPEAKER_01: We have two tubs at the side of the sink with with um utensils in as well.
• 17:32
  SPEAKER_01: Oh okay.
• 17:33
  SPEAKER_01: So yeah.
• 17:36
  SPEAKER_02: Okay.
• 17:36
SPEAKER_02: Or you just got a lot of utensils.
• 17:38
  SPEAKER_01: Oh yeah.
• 17:39
SPEAKER_01: Let me ask you anyway.
• 17:40
  SPEAKER_01: Go on.
• 17:40
  SPEAKER_01: Utensils.
• 17:41
  SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
• 17:42
  SPEAKER_01: Potato peelers.
• 17:43
  SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
• 17:43
  SPEAKER_01: Necessity.
• 17:45
  SPEAKER_01: Or not?
• 17:46
  SPEAKER_02: Uh I don't get it.
• 17:49
SPEAKER_02: I don't get the point of them.
• 17:50
SPEAKER_02: Why w do you peel potatoes?
• 17:52
  SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
• 17:53
SPEAKER_02: So you just knife it?
• 17:54
  SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
• 17:55
SPEAKER_02: There's a lot of waste when you knife peeled potatoes though.
• 17:58
  SPEAKER_02: Do you not think?
• 17:59
  SPEAKER_02: No?
• 18:00
SPEAKER_02: Yeah, you end up cutting like potato edges off and then you end up with a potato that's about the size of a fucking conquer.
• 18:06
SPEAKER_02: How much are you hacking at the sports meet?
• 18:08
SPEAKER_02: Well, hang on a minute.
• 18:09
SPEAKER_02: We were talking about what what are British things.
• 18:11
SPEAKER_02: I think it is quite British to have a potato peeler.
• 18:13
  SPEAKER_02: Really?
• 18:13
  SPEAKER_01: Yes.
• 18:14
  SPEAKER_01: Wow.
• 18:15
SPEAKER_01: I mean, my wife uses them.
• 18:17
SPEAKER_01: And the kids use them.
• 18:19
SPEAKER_01: I just don't see the point of them.
• 18:20
SPEAKER_02: What's the point of it?
• 18:22
SPEAKER_02: It it saves on the amount of potato you're wasting.
• 18:27
  SPEAKER_02: But it doesn't.
• 18:28
  SPEAKER_02: And it's quicker.
• 18:28
SPEAKER_02: I can I can literally get I bet I can peel a spool quicker than you.
• 18:32
  SPEAKER_02: You bet you couldn't.
• 18:33
SPEAKER_02: I used to work in kitchens, mate.
• 18:34
  SPEAKER_02: Right.
• 18:35
SPEAKER_02: Like peeling carrots, for example.
• 18:36
SPEAKER_02: You see some people will hold the carrot and they'll they'll they'll sort of like they'll drag it down to the thumb.
• 18:40
SPEAKER_02: I know this this visually isn't going to work on on the audio podcast, but they'll hold the carrot in the hand and they'll go peel, twist it, peel, twist it, peel.
• 18:51
  SPEAKER_02: Right.
• 18:51
  SPEAKER_02: I know.
• 18:51
SPEAKER_02: Hold it by the end, you go as you're twisting it with the hands.
• 18:55
SPEAKER_02: You have to make that sound as well.
• 18:56
SPEAKER_02: No, it makes that sound.
• 18:57
  SPEAKER_02: Oh, right, okay.
• 18:58
SPEAKER_01: So you don't have to make the sound.
• 19:00
  SPEAKER_02: No, no, I'm not a machine.
• 19:02
  SPEAKER_02: Right.
• 19:03
SPEAKER_02: Um, but yeah, you do done.
• 19:04
SPEAKER_02: And I can do that with potatoes.
• 19:06
SPEAKER_02: You just sort of like go.
• 19:08
SPEAKER_02: You know what it's like.
• 19:09
  SPEAKER_02: It's a different sound.
• 19:10
  SPEAKER_01: Right?
• 19:11
SPEAKER_01: Because because when you cut into a potato, it goes what if what if the potato's got the eyes in it?
• 19:18
SPEAKER_02: Potatoes to have eyes, they're not real.
• 19:20
  SPEAKER_01: Yeah, then black eyes.
• 19:21
  SPEAKER_01: That's what they're called.
• 19:23
SPEAKER_01: You know what the you've got a bit of bad in your potato and you've got to scoop it out.
• 19:27
  SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
• 19:27
SPEAKER_01: How are you scooping that out?
• 19:28
  SPEAKER_01: What do you mean?
• 19:29
  SPEAKER_01: With your potato peeler?
• 19:30
SPEAKER_02: With potato because your potato peeler's got like a pointy bit on the end, and you just go.
• 19:35
  SPEAKER_02: Everything's got a fucking sound.
• 19:37
  SPEAKER_01: I just feel like it's pointless.
• 19:38
SPEAKER_01: You you you're making, you're generating more peel.
• 19:42
SPEAKER_01: Having potato peelers is British.
• 19:44
SPEAKER_01: This is a Paul thing.
• 19:45
  SPEAKER_01: Let me know.
• 19:46
  SPEAKER_01: Right.
• 19:47
  SPEAKER_01: Let me know.
• 19:48
  SPEAKER_01: I don't think it is.
• 19:49
  SPEAKER_01: I think it's just another conspiracy.
• 19:52
SPEAKER_01: You want to go down the route of conspiracies?
• 19:54
  SPEAKER_01: I just think it's a conspiracy.
• 19:56
  SPEAKER_01: Conspira right.
• 19:57
  SPEAKER_01: I've got a conspiracy for you.
• 19:59
  SPEAKER_01: Hang on.
• 19:59
  SPEAKER_01: Hang on.
• 20:00
SPEAKER_01: Is this a Karl conspiracy?
• 20:02
  SPEAKER_01: No.
• 20:03
SPEAKER_01: Or is this an actual like a proper debatable conspiracy that we can actually we can actually go with and see ration with just because you don't buy into all of my all the conspiracy theories, it doesn't mean that that like the world ended and stuff.
• 20:18
  SPEAKER_02: But go on.
• 20:20
  SPEAKER_02: That is well documented.
• 20:22
  SPEAKER_01: Okay.
• 20:22
SPEAKER_02: Right, just just to add a little bit of background.
• 20:26
SPEAKER_02: In my early 20s, I used to subscribe to a magazine called The 14 Times.
• 20:32
  SPEAKER_02: Right.
• 20:32
SPEAKER_02: And that was weird shit.
• 20:34
  SPEAKER_02: Right, okay.
• 20:35
SPEAKER_02: I mean that was the bizarre and the weird stuff, conspiracy theories.
• 20:39
SPEAKER_02: And one of the key things that it went into was the fact that we've never been on the fucking moon.
• 20:46
  SPEAKER_02: Right, okay.
• 20:47
SPEAKER_02: Never been on the moon.
• 20:48
  SPEAKER_02: And and and I I agree.
• 20:49
SPEAKER_02: I don't think we've ever been and set foot on the fucking moon.
• 20:54
  SPEAKER_01: I agree with you.
• 20:55
  SPEAKER_01: Fuck off.
• 20:56
  SPEAKER_01: I don't think we've been on the moon.
• 21:00
SPEAKER_01: You agree you actually agree with me.
• 21:02
  SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
• 21:02
SPEAKER_01: So in the 60s we're supposed to have walked on the moon.
• 21:05
  SPEAKER_01: Apparently.
• 21:06
  SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
• 21:07
SPEAKER_00: When's he done it since?
• 21:08
SPEAKER_01: Well, this is one of the things in the conspiracy.
• 21:11
SPEAKER_01: Since technology's supposed to be so advanced compared to then.
• 21:14
  SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
• 21:15
SPEAKER_01: He had a put he had a bit of tinfoil on his head and whatever, walked on the moon.
• 21:19
SPEAKER_01: I think this is nothing against the two guys that have done it or supposedly done it.
• 21:23
  SPEAKER_01: It's not their fault.
• 21:23
  SPEAKER_01: Oh, good actors.
• 21:24
  SPEAKER_01: Yeah, exactly.
• 21:25
  SPEAKER_01: Coerced into it.
• 21:26
SPEAKER_01: Um and we've never done it since or been able to do it since.
• 21:29
  SPEAKER_01: I believe there's a space station up there.
• 21:32
  SPEAKER_01: The International Space Station.
• 21:33
  SPEAKER_01: I believe that's up there.
• 21:34
SPEAKER_02: Yeah, but but I believe that's halfway there because I don't think they can get to the moon.
• 21:38
SPEAKER_02: I think putting something into space, into the atmosphere, into space, orbiting something, it's one thing.
• 21:43
  SPEAKER_02: Landing on a planet.
• 21:45
  SPEAKER_02: Correct.
• 21:46
SPEAKER_02: So, what about all of the audio footage?
• 21:49
SPEAKER_02: What about all of the photographs?
• 21:52
  SPEAKER_02: Faked?
• 21:53
  SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
• 21:53
  SPEAKER_02: 100%.
• 21:54
  SPEAKER_02: Where?
• 21:55
  SPEAKER_02: Where were they faked?
• 21:57
  SPEAKER_01: Probably Hollywood.
• 21:59
  unknown: I just
• 22:00
SPEAKER_01: See it the fact that, well, there's no gravity there, supposedly.
• 22:04
  SPEAKER_01: Correct.
• 22:04
  SPEAKER_01: The flag's flying.
• 22:06
  SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
• 22:06
SPEAKER_02: Almost like blowing in the wind.
• 22:08
  SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
• 22:08
SPEAKER_02: There are theories to suggest, even in those sort of atmospheric conditions, if you got a flag on a pole and moved it like that, then it would trail behind.
• 22:20
SPEAKER_02: But that's not what the photos show.
• 22:22
SPEAKER_02: It's almost like it's planted in the ground and it's blowing.
• 22:25
SPEAKER_02: I think there's there's there's more compelling evidence against the fact that we've been to the moon.
• 22:30
SPEAKER_01: Well, the other pictures I've seen of the moon and the bits of bricks and stuff that are around there.
• 22:35
  SPEAKER_02: Well, like rocks, bricks.
• 22:37
  SPEAKER_02: Rocks, bricks.
• 22:38
SPEAKER_02: Well, that's throwing the theory straight out then.
• 22:39
SPEAKER_02: Someone's who's who the fuck's building bricks on the fucking moon?
• 22:42
SPEAKER_02: Is it the man in the moon?
• 22:43
  SPEAKER_01: So I'm gone.
• 22:44
SPEAKER_01: Do you agree with me?
• 22:45
  SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
• 22:46
  SPEAKER_01: No, sorry.
• 22:46
SPEAKER_01: You're gonna argue the fact that I've said a brick instead of a rock.
• 22:51
SPEAKER_02: I just think the specifics matter.
• 22:53
SPEAKER_01: Well, it doesn't really, does it?
• 22:54
  SPEAKER_01: They look cardboardy.
• 22:55
  SPEAKER_02: Okay.
• 22:56
SPEAKER_01: Whatever it is, they look it's cardboard box.
• 23:01
SPEAKER_01: That's my idea on it.
• 23:02
  SPEAKER_01: And some polyester.
• 23:04
  SPEAKER_01: Polystyrene.
• 23:06
  SPEAKER_01: Whatever.
• 23:06
SPEAKER_01: Polyester you make loads out of.
• 23:08
  SPEAKER_01: Right, yeah.
• 23:09
SPEAKER_01: Well, it was the 60s, you know.
• 23:11
  SPEAKER_01: Cardboard and polyester.
• 23:12
  SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
• 23:12
SPEAKER_01: What about the shadows though?
• 23:14
  SPEAKER_01: The shadows.
• 23:15
  SPEAKER_01: The shadows.
• 23:15
  SPEAKER_01: Not a bad band.
• 23:17
SPEAKER_01: There's loads of photos, right?
• 23:19
SPEAKER_02: Because you again, bear in mind, bear in mind, they're on the moon.
• 23:22
  SPEAKER_01: I don't and I know what you're saying, right?
• 23:24
SPEAKER_01: And I know you picked up on this conspiracy theory and stuff.
• 23:27
SPEAKER_01: But my thing is we agree that no one's been on the moon.
• 23:30
  SPEAKER_01: Right.
• 23:31
  SPEAKER_01: Agreed.
• 23:31
SPEAKER_01: We don't need to go scientific on it.
• 23:33
SPEAKER_02: Well, hang on a minute.
• 23:34
SPEAKER_02: You've just had your piece of saying all the reasons why you think.
• 23:37
  SPEAKER_02: I must say why I think.
• 23:38
  SPEAKER_02: Well, yeah.
• 23:39
  SPEAKER_02: Clearly fucking not.
• 23:40
  SPEAKER_02: Sorry, Dad.
• 23:42
SPEAKER_01: I mean, to be fair, you did subscribe to the 14 times or whatever it was called magazine.
• 23:47
  SPEAKER_01: So yeah, go on.
• 23:48
  SPEAKER_01: You mean you're not.
• 23:48
  SPEAKER_02: No, it's fucking fine.
• 23:49
  SPEAKER_02: I'm not telling you.
• 23:50
SPEAKER_01: I just don't believe somebody landed on the moon when they can't do it now.
• 23:54
SPEAKER_02: It's it's quite hard to take that they managed to do it back then by luck with all other crappy technology, and they've got better technology now, and they still can't manage.
• 24:04
SPEAKER_02: But apparently they're not even trying now.
• 24:08
SPEAKER_02: But to be honest, they can't even fucking launch shit half the time and that'd be successful, let alone bunch, travel, people on the moon, land, take back off again, and fucking land again.
• 24:17
SPEAKER_02: It's like, hang on a minute, you can't even manage to get stage one done most of the time.
• 24:21
SPEAKER_02: You're trying to tell me that you you strung together seven fucking stages.
• 24:24
  SPEAKER_02: Exactly.
• 24:25
SPEAKER_02: Oh, and don't forget, took video footage away with that.
• 24:27
  SPEAKER_02: Exactly.
• 24:28
  SPEAKER_02: Exactly.
• 24:29
  SPEAKER_01: And that's the thing, isn't it?
• 24:30
SPEAKER_01: So I just that's just my belief.
• 24:33
SPEAKER_01: And if they did, fair play to them two guys.
• 24:37
SPEAKER_01: What's your stance on aliens?
• 24:42
SPEAKER_02: Did Roswell you know of Roswell?
• 24:46
  SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
• 24:47
SPEAKER_02: Did that actually take place?
• 24:49
SPEAKER_02: Was there a crashed vehicle with beings inside it?
• 24:57
  SPEAKER_02: With beings inside it.
• 25:00
  SPEAKER_01: Beings.
• 25:01
  SPEAKER_01: Beings.
• 25:02
  SPEAKER_01: Oh beings.
• 25:02
  SPEAKER_01: Like alien beings.
• 25:04
  SPEAKER_02: Yes.
• 25:04
SPEAKER_02: I mean I I was being careful what used what were they used because if it said aliens, no, they weren't aliens.
• 25:09
SPEAKER_02: They were I'm not I'm not you.
• 25:12
  SPEAKER_02: Yeah, that's true.
• 25:13
  SPEAKER_02: Right.
• 25:13
SPEAKER_02: I was picking fault at my own shit.
• 25:15
  SPEAKER_01: You were, you were.
• 25:16
  SPEAKER_01: Um do I believe there's aliens?
• 25:21
SPEAKER_02: Um No, that's not why I asked.
• 25:23
  SPEAKER_02: Oh.
• 25:23
SPEAKER_02: Do you believe that Roswell took place as in in the 60s, whenever it was Nevada Desert or or or whatever, there was a some sort of beat some sort of craft that crashed and it had things in it that were not human?
• 25:36
  SPEAKER_02: I don't know.
• 25:37
  SPEAKER_02: No.
• 25:38
SPEAKER_02: What about the alien autopsy?
• 25:40
SPEAKER_02: So you don't believe in that then?
• 25:41
SPEAKER_02: Don't even know about that.
• 25:43
SPEAKER_02: You don't know about it?
• 25:45
  SPEAKER_02: Is it a film?
• 25:47
  SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
• 25:48
  SPEAKER_02: Okay.
• 25:48
SPEAKER_02: I mean it is it was false.
• 25:50
SPEAKER_02: The alien autopsy video was false, but it went massive.
• 25:53
SPEAKER_02: Can you not remember that?
• 25:55
  SPEAKER_01: No.
• 25:56
  SPEAKER_01: No.
• 25:57
  SPEAKER_01: I I I I live in my own world, don't I?
• 26:00
SPEAKER_01: Why do you believe anyway there was Roswell?
• 26:03
SPEAKER_02: Well, uh yes but no.
• 26:06
  SPEAKER_02: Whoa.
• 26:07
SPEAKER_02: So you uh how can you be a yes but no?
• 26:10
SPEAKER_02: It was a double conspiracy thing.
• 26:12
  SPEAKER_02: Right.
• 26:13
  SPEAKER_02: Right.
• 26:13
SPEAKER_02: In in my opinion, something happened, not what they said happened.
• 26:19
  SPEAKER_02: Right.
• 26:19
SPEAKER_02: Then they apparently kept it a secret and learned loads of technology from the technological advances of this craft and stuff, whilst they put a load of propaganda crap out there about ooh, aliens, but we're not gonna tell you, it's all secret, to throw you off the fact that they've used all of this alien technology to to put into research products to build some really silly fucking aircraft.
• 26:41
  SPEAKER_02: Stuff that's just mad.
• 26:42
SPEAKER_02: So that then when they're testing these aircraft out, they can pretend that oh it might be a UFO sighting.
• 26:49
  SPEAKER_01: Okay.
• 26:50
SPEAKER_02: Anyway, we were talking about British things, weren't we?
• 26:52
SPEAKER_02: Okay, I'll think of another one for you.
• 26:53
  SPEAKER_02: Go on then.
• 26:54
  SPEAKER_02: Black pudding.
• 26:57
  SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
• 26:59
  SPEAKER_02: See, I I love black pudding.
• 27:02
SPEAKER_02: Do you hate the thought of it?
• 27:05
  SPEAKER_02: Right.
• 27:05
SPEAKER_02: Because it's made out of like everything.
• 27:07
SPEAKER_02: Pig's blood, offal and yeah, it tastes great.
• 27:12
SPEAKER_02: Have you come have you ever come across white pudding?
• 27:14
  SPEAKER_02: Yes.
• 27:15
  SPEAKER_02: Isn't that weird?
• 27:16
  SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
• 27:16
SPEAKER_02: I'm to do a vegan pudding now.
• 27:19
SPEAKER_02: That like that makes no sense.
• 27:24
SPEAKER_01: Anyway, what's the best black pudding though?
• 27:30
  SPEAKER_01: In your opinion.
• 27:32
  SPEAKER_01: In the UK.
• 27:33
SPEAKER_02: What do you mean the best?
• 27:34
  SPEAKER_02: As in the make.
• 27:35
  SPEAKER_02: I don't know, mate.
• 27:36
  SPEAKER_02: I d I don't go necessarily for a make.
• 27:38
  SPEAKER_01: Oh right.
• 27:40
  SPEAKER_01: You should.
• 27:41
  SPEAKER_01: Really?
• 27:41
  SPEAKER_01: Go on.
• 27:42
  SPEAKER_01: Stone away.
• 27:44
  SPEAKER_01: What?
• 27:44
  SPEAKER_01: Stone away.
• 27:46
  SPEAKER_01: Stone away.
• 27:47
  SPEAKER_01: Stone.
• 27:48
  SPEAKER_01: Stone.
• 27:48
SPEAKER_01: Yeah, as in the place stone away.
• 27:50
  SPEAKER_01: In Scotland.
• 27:52
  SPEAKER_01: Is that the best?
• 27:53
  SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
• 27:53
SPEAKER_01: I've never never tried it.
• 27:56
SPEAKER_01: Can you can you eat it raw?
• 27:57
  SPEAKER_01: I don't know.
• 27:58
  SPEAKER_01: I don't do black button.
• 28:00
SPEAKER_01: But I've been told by my dad that's the best.
• 28:02
  SPEAKER_02: I wonder what's different.
• 28:02
SPEAKER_02: I wonder if they they feed the pigs sweet corn for their entire life.
• 28:07
SPEAKER_02: Although I'm still confused over whether you have to fry it or not.
• 28:10
SPEAKER_02: Because I have seen people just slice it, peel the outside skin off, and eat it raw.
• 28:17
  SPEAKER_02: That worries me.
• 28:18
  SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
• 28:18
  SPEAKER_02: I'm worried about that.
• 28:19
  SPEAKER_02: It's a tartar.
• 28:21
  SPEAKER_01: Tatar.
• 28:22
  SPEAKER_01: Or meat?
• 28:23
  SPEAKER_01: Is that tartar?
• 28:24
SPEAKER_01: Is that what they call it?
• 28:26
SPEAKER_01: Oh, beef, like beef, beef tartar.
• 28:29
  SPEAKER_02: Yeah, yeah.
• 28:30
  SPEAKER_02: Maybe that's pork tartar.
• 28:31
SPEAKER_02: You know, maybe maybe you know, you need to get used to putting all the words in sentences so I don't have to build them up yourself.
• 28:38
SPEAKER_02: You know, right, you know that I overprocess as it is.
• 28:41
SPEAKER_02: So if you don't give me all the ingredients, can you imagine where my brain goes when you don't give me all the ingredients?
• 28:47
SPEAKER_02: I'm thinking, but it was right though.
• 28:49
SPEAKER_02: At least I got right words.
• 28:52
SPEAKER_02: Is that how you say it?
