- 1:27Speaker 5: for being with us. It is a Tuesday edition. This
- 1:31Speaker 5: sportion of the program brought to you by Central Texas
- 1:33Speaker 5: Sports Medicine. We have just learned that the Minnesota Vikings
- 1:39Speaker 5: have named Kyler Murray their starting quarterback. So we're going
- 1:43Speaker 5: to spin the show on that, taking your phone calls
- 1:46Speaker 5: at six nine, three eleven fifty on is that a
- 1:49Speaker 5: good move for the Vikings? Will that help them? Did
- 1:53Speaker 5: they make the right choice? All of that. Today on
- 1:58Speaker 5: the show, we've got our first high school report, We've
- 2:01Speaker 5: got our SEC preview today is Vanderbilt. Also, we have
- 2:12Speaker 5: Mallory is in. In the second hour, we're going to
- 2:16Speaker 5: hear from offensive coordinator Holman Wiggins coming up and we'll
- 2:22Speaker 5: let you in on the on the rest as well.
- 2:26Speaker 5: So huge show here on this Tuesday afternoon the Aggie
- 2:33Speaker 5: football team was working out uh and we'll work out
- 2:40Speaker 5: again in mornings from ten to noonish the next couple
- 2:45Speaker 5: of days Wednesday, Thursday, as they continue to get ready,
- 2:52Speaker 5: and we will have they they're making quarterback Marcel Reid
- 2:57Speaker 5: available tomorrow, so we'll hear from him at some point
- 3:01Speaker 5: Wednesday or Thursday. I mentioned Holman Wiggins. Lyyle Hemphill, the
- 3:07Speaker 5: defensive coordinator, also met with us this morning. We will
- 3:12Speaker 5: hear from him at some point, probably tomorrow. And this
- 3:20Speaker 5: is an interesting story. Northwestern has been given a thirty
- 3:24Speaker 5: five million dollars gift to enhance their football program, a
- 3:30Speaker 5: family donation intended to include recruiting support and broader program needs.
- 3:40Speaker 5: The gift, according to the school, will help student athlete development, practice,
- 3:46Speaker 5: operational priorities, recruiting money, strategic investments designed to position Northwestern
- 3:55Speaker 5: football for sustained success in the Big Ten and on
- 4:00Speaker 5: the national stage. They are set to open an eight
- 4:05Speaker 5: hundred and fifty million dollars stadium and practice facility this year.
- 4:13Speaker 5: That was also privately funded. So if you're keeping score,
- 4:18Speaker 5: that's eight hundred and eighty five million dollars worth of gifts.
- 4:23Speaker 5: And I tell you here's part of what's going on.
- 4:26Speaker 5: And you knew this was going to happen. Indiana won
- 4:30Speaker 5: a national championship last year, and every d one school
- 4:34Speaker 5: in America is saying, good gosh, they were the worst
- 4:39Speaker 5: football program in the history of football. If they can
- 4:41Speaker 5: win a national championship, we can win a national championship.
- 4:48Speaker 5: The problem is you don't have their coach. Takes more
- 4:53Speaker 5: than money. Money helps, It takes more than money. It'll
- 4:58Speaker 5: be interesting to why Northwestern. Northwestern was more than competitive
- 5:04Speaker 5: under Pat Fitzgerald and he got fired allegedly for harassing
- 5:10Speaker 5: football players. I don't know. I don't know if there
- 5:13Speaker 5: were snowflakes on the team who didn't like it. I
- 5:17Speaker 5: think he eventually settled out of court after he got fired. Anyway,
- 5:24Speaker 5: we'll see what happens there. We have got Astros baseball
- 5:29Speaker 5: late tonight on the Left Coast in case you missed
- 5:32Speaker 5: it last night, which I did. It's too late for me.
- 5:36Speaker 5: The Astros scored three in the tenth and won six
- 5:39Speaker 5: to three, and almost a carbon copy of the Ranger game.
- 5:45Speaker 5: The Rangers scored three in the tent and one four
- 5:48Speaker 5: to one. Brandon Nimma with the go ahead RBI single
- 5:52Speaker 5: in the tent. Jack Berger followed out with a two
- 5:54Speaker 5: run single. Rangers win four to one. They send codyd
- 6:00Speaker 5: to the mound tonight against the Angels, and that is
- 6:06Speaker 5: that will be his second start. By the way, Hunter
- 6:08Speaker 5: Brown is starting for the Astros tonight. And I tell
- 6:15Speaker 5: you how bad the Angels are and how bad they
- 6:19Speaker 5: think the Rangers are. After losing to the Rangers last
- 6:23Speaker 5: night and giving up four runs and ten innings, the
- 6:27Speaker 5: Angels fired their entire pitching staff today, including pitching coach
- 6:32Speaker 5: Mike Maddox, who I wish were still with the Rangers,
- 6:35Speaker 5: one of the best in the business. Assistant pitching coach
- 6:39Speaker 5: Darryl Scott fired. Bullpen coach Dom Cheaty fired. Maddox had
- 6:45Speaker 5: just been with the team since the offseason was given
- 6:48Speaker 5: a one year contract. The Angels pitchers have a four
- 6:52Speaker 5: to five to three run average and have issued the
- 6:54Speaker 5: most walks in Major League Baseball, And of course that's
- 6:57Speaker 5: all the pitching coach's fault. The new pitching coach will
- 7:01Speaker 5: come in and tell the Angel's pitchers, hey, quit walking everybody,
- 7:07Speaker 5: and everything will be great. The Angels have so many problems,
- 7:13Speaker 5: and poor Mike Trout not poor Mike Trout, Rich Mike Trout.
- 7:17Speaker 5: He's thinking, what was I doing? I basically signed up
- 7:24Speaker 5: for the rest of my career with this team. What
- 7:26Speaker 5: was I thinking? We're never going to win. They're terrible,
- 7:30Speaker 5: but at least they're going to have a new pitching
- 7:32Speaker 5: coach who tells the pitchers, hey, quit walking, everybody throw strikes,
- 7:40Speaker 5: and I'm sure that will work out well for the Angels.
- 7:46Speaker 5: I wish Mike Maddox would come back to the Rangers. Frankly,
- 7:49Speaker 5: I really like him. And when you get Mike Maddox,
- 7:55Speaker 5: the Rangers always got a little bonus because his brother,
- 7:58Speaker 5: Greg would show up in spring training from time to
- 8:01Speaker 5: time and you know, visit with a few of the
- 8:06Speaker 5: pitchers that wanted to pick his brain. Who wouldn't want
- 8:09Speaker 5: to talk to Greg Maddox about pitching if you're a pitcher, right,
- 8:13Speaker 5: just saying, the Red Sox are finally going to get
- 8:18Speaker 5: Addlie Rushman in the lineup. They made the big trade
- 8:21Speaker 5: right before the trading deadline with the Orioles seven player deal,
- 8:28Speaker 5: and he hasn't played for Boston yet because he's been
- 8:34Speaker 5: out since the middle of July with a left wrist
- 8:37Speaker 5: inflammation by the way last night before the Angels game.
- 8:42Speaker 5: Every time you think the Rangers are getting healthy, I
- 8:47Speaker 5: get a text, a tweet both by the way, big game,
- 8:57Speaker 5: Nate is going on the fifteen days disabled list with
- 9:02Speaker 5: a battle of bat elbow, and I'm going, oh, you
- 9:05Speaker 5: have got to be kidding. I mean, you have got
- 9:10Speaker 5: to be kidding. Just as they're getting a staff healthy
- 9:15Speaker 5: Nathan Valdi now on the fifteen day deal. Man, I
- 9:20Speaker 5: hate that.
- 9:21Speaker 4: Anyway.
- 9:21Speaker 5: Rushman's supposed to be in the lneup tonight. He's got
- 9:23Speaker 5: to face Dylan Cease. So he's thinking, oh, thanks, guys,
- 9:27Speaker 5: you get me back. I have to face Dylan Cease.
- 9:29Speaker 5: The Blue Jays, And speaking of the Blue Jays and
- 9:31Speaker 5: Red Sox, I can't go into what happened in the
- 9:34Speaker 5: game last night because I don't understand everything. I was
- 9:38Speaker 5: listening to Joe. She had talked to Louis this morning
- 9:41Speaker 5: about this, and I don't know exactly what happened. There
- 9:47Speaker 5: were three outs in an inning, there were four outs
- 9:49Speaker 5: in an inning. There was a double play, there wasn't
- 9:52Speaker 5: a double play. There was two cop baseballs. There wasn't
- 9:56Speaker 5: a cop baseball. The players forgot how many outs there
- 10:00Speaker 5: were runs scored, runs didn't score. Took fifteen minutes to
- 10:04Speaker 5: sort all this out. Plus the league office in New
- 10:08Speaker 5: York had to look up the exact rules that went on.
- 10:12Speaker 5: And I'm not going to labor you with all of
- 10:15Speaker 5: that because I just I don't I didn't care enough.
- 10:21Speaker 5: I watched a video and I said, man, this is complicated.
- 10:27Speaker 5: So even some of the players, I think we're laughing afterwards,
- 10:30Speaker 5: like we don't know what's going on. Neither team, neither
- 10:34Speaker 5: side knew what was going on. So anyway, if you care,
- 10:39Speaker 5: you can look up a video and watch that was
- 10:43Speaker 5: just chaos for about fifteen minutes last night. But it
- 10:47Speaker 5: is the dog days, it is August. We need stuff
- 10:51Speaker 5: to talk about. You can tell it's the dog days,
- 10:55Speaker 5: especially in baseball, man. And it's hot a lot of
- 10:58Speaker 5: places in the US, not just here. So these guys
- 11:02Speaker 5: are like, oh, man, especially, I think you know it's
- 11:06Speaker 5: not hot in Anaheim in the evening especially, But anyway,
- 11:10Speaker 5: you know, those guys are going, we got almost two
- 11:13Speaker 5: more months of this stuff and we're terrible. We got
- 11:16Speaker 5: no shot. The Rangers do have a shot. The Astros
- 11:21Speaker 5: do have a shot. The Mariners have a shot. They're
- 11:23Speaker 5: playing the Yankees, I think tonight. So the Rangers half
- 11:27Speaker 5: game back. Okay, the Astros now two games over five hundred,
- 11:33Speaker 5: the Rangers one game over five hundred. They are half
- 11:36Speaker 5: a game back in the West. All right, We're gonna
- 11:38Speaker 5: take a break. Caleb's going to be along with our
- 11:42Speaker 5: first high school report. We have got our sec preview
- 11:47Speaker 5: coming up. We got to hear from some Maggie defensive players.
- 11:52Speaker 5: We're gonna hear from offensive coordinator Home and Wiggins and
- 11:55Speaker 5: Mallory is here today. This portion of the program is
- 11:59Speaker 5: brought to you Buy and Co Insurance.
- 12:03Speaker 9: Enco Insurance is now a part of Hub International, bringing
- 12:06Speaker 9: you more choices, better value, and even greater expertise. While

- 12:25Speaker 9: behind us, more resources, more solutions. Still your team and
- 12:28Speaker 9: co Insurance a Hub International company, So you're ready for tomorrow.

- 12:34Speaker 11: Ankie football is the Sony eleven AM and ninety three
- 12:37Speaker 11: point seven FM.
- 12:39Speaker 2: Things a life that make it worth living. It's guitars,
- 12:44Speaker 2: too good and firm feeling women. I don't need the
- 12:49Speaker 2: name in the marque lights got Massan, got you with
- 12:54Speaker 2: me tonight? Maybe it's time we got back to the
- 13:01Speaker 2: basics of.
- 13:02Speaker 12: The Welcome into the high School Report. I'm Caleb Brapley,
- 13:06Speaker 12: and today we are jumping out to the Polaris Fun
- 13:08Speaker 12: Center phone line to visit with the head coach of
- 13:11Speaker 12: the Rudder Rangers football team, mister Eric Ezar, Coach, how
- 13:15Speaker 12: are you doing today?
- 13:16Speaker 13: I'm doing great, Thank you, Glad.
- 13:18Speaker 12: To have you on the program today. Very excited for
- 13:21Speaker 12: this fall high school football season, college football season. It's
- 13:25Speaker 12: all right around the corner, and I know all of
- 13:27Speaker 12: our listeners are very excited as well. So how has
- 13:30Speaker 12: this offseason been for you and your squad?
- 13:32Speaker 13: It's been great. Last year we had a really young team,
- 13:35Speaker 13: and so the spring before the offseason before, you're really
- 13:39Speaker 13: kind of restarting everything. And the great thing is we
- 13:43Speaker 13: have a you know, probably nine on offense and nine
- 13:46Speaker 13: starters on defense that are coming back. So when we
- 13:48Speaker 13: got into spring, things went a lot quicker because they
- 13:51Speaker 13: you know, they were familiar with everything you know they
- 13:55Speaker 13: they you know, before they were third or four stringers.
- 13:58Speaker 13: Now they were first stringers, and they had been first
- 14:00Speaker 13: stringers during the season, so you know, you're not replacing
- 14:03Speaker 13: a lot of kids. So everything went well. You know,
- 14:07Speaker 13: we were just getting better, just going over our stuff
- 14:09Speaker 13: on offense and defense, and so it was a really
- 14:12Speaker 13: good spring ball and the summer has been really well too.
- 14:16Speaker 12: Yeah, it definitely was a very young squad last year.
- 14:18Speaker 12: But one of the benefits of that is that, you know,
- 14:20Speaker 12: there's all that experience coming back. I was looking at
- 14:23Speaker 12: the numbers and y'all have the most returning letterman of
- 14:27Speaker 12: any team in your district. So how do you think
- 14:29Speaker 12: that's going to give you an advantage over some of
- 14:32Speaker 12: the teams you will be competing against this season.
- 14:34Speaker 13: Well, you know, I think experience, and you know, I've
- 14:36Speaker 13: been coaching for a long time, and I think that
- 14:38Speaker 13: experience always helps. You know, we have some really good
- 14:41Speaker 13: teams in our district. You know, Brenham just reloads and
- 14:44Speaker 13: Klean Elison's going to be a really good team. Belton
- 14:47Speaker 13: University had a great season last year. You know, you know,
- 14:51Speaker 13: Waco's got great athletes. So it's always a tough district,
- 14:54Speaker 13: but I think just as young kids. I mean, when
- 14:57Speaker 13: you're playing fifteen year olds versus eighteen year olds, sometimes
- 15:01Speaker 13: it's a good and a bad thing. And the bad
- 15:03Speaker 13: thing is is that they're young, and sometimes they're not
- 15:05Speaker 13: going to win those battles against eighteen year olds. But
- 15:08Speaker 13: you know, those our kids got knocked down. They went
- 15:11Speaker 13: against guys who were stronger than them. So I think
- 15:14Speaker 13: in the off season it really helped them work really hard.
- 15:16Speaker 13: They really hit the weight room. You know, when you
- 15:18Speaker 13: talk about weight room now they understand because there's an
- 15:20Speaker 13: eighteen year old standing across from that benches three twenty
- 15:23Speaker 13: and they're mentioned two twenty. Well, you know what's fixing
- 15:25Speaker 13: to happen. So you know, hopefully our kids are the
- 15:27Speaker 13: ones let me mentioned three twenty now and they've matured
- 15:31Speaker 13: and you know the hopefully the tide will turn.
- 15:34Speaker 12: So you mentioned a few of your district bunk mates
- 15:37Speaker 12: this year. We did have realignment back in February, but
- 15:41Speaker 12: District eight five A Division two stays exactly the same
- 15:44Speaker 12: as it was before. How much easier is your job
- 15:46Speaker 12: going to be getting to go up against the same
- 15:48Speaker 12: teams for the third year in a row.
- 15:50Speaker 13: Yeah, I think it's a little bit of both. I
- 15:51Speaker 13: think when you play people the first time, you're you know,
- 15:53Speaker 13: you're just trying to kind of feel them out. You know,
- 15:55Speaker 13: you have a lot more film on them the second year,
- 15:57Speaker 13: and you know, sometimes that helps, and you know, just
- 16:00Speaker 13: really I think the thing that helps is just being
- 16:02Speaker 13: older and more experienced, you know, to be quite honest,
- 16:05Speaker 13: but it does help you as far as you get
- 16:07Speaker 13: to know and break down people that you're playing, and
- 16:09Speaker 13: like if you've never played somebody, like we really had
- 16:12Speaker 13: not played Belton ever before before the you know, that
- 16:14Speaker 13: year that we came in the district. You know, as
- 16:17Speaker 13: long as the coaches stay the same, you kind of
- 16:19Speaker 13: get patterns in what they do and all that stuff.
- 16:21Speaker 13: And it's a year to game plan for.
- 16:23Speaker 12: So I've been, you know, reading all of the different
- 16:24Speaker 12: preview magazines trying to get ready for this season, and
- 16:28Speaker 12: I've seen a lot of buzz around your defensive line
- 16:31Speaker 12: as a position group. Do you think that's your biggest
- 16:33Speaker 12: strength or is there another one that stands out?
- 16:35Speaker 14: Well?
- 16:36Speaker 13: You know, I really think that the defensive line is
- 16:39Speaker 13: going to be our strength at Javion Richardson, Jordan, Ennis,
- 16:42Speaker 13: Marian gbson. We may even play dominic guards are there
- 16:46Speaker 13: a little bit too, you know, Jay Sean Brown to
- 16:49Speaker 13: play some defensive end, you know. So we really feel
- 16:52Speaker 13: like we have a good rotation of kids that will
- 16:54Speaker 13: probably rotate a lot of kids, and that's always good
- 16:57Speaker 13: on the defensive line, especially early in the season, you know,
- 17:00Speaker 13: with all the heat, because those big guys get tired quick.
- 17:03Speaker 13: So if you don't have a lot of depth at
- 17:04Speaker 13: the defensive line, you can get in trouble real quick.
- 17:07Speaker 13: And so we're excited about that. But I also think
- 17:09Speaker 13: the offensive line, we had the whole offensive line back,
- 17:13Speaker 13: and I think one thing in rudder as far as personnel.
- 17:15Speaker 13: In the past, we've been known for our skill guys,
- 17:17Speaker 13: and we have some good skill guys coming. But you know,
- 17:21Speaker 13: really at the time, we've always had kind of little
- 17:23Speaker 13: offensive lineman and defensive linemen. And you know, for the
- 17:27Speaker 13: next two years, we're going to have some pretty big kids,
- 17:29Speaker 13: and you know, we're gonna have kids who weigh you know,
- 17:31Speaker 13: to eighty and there are six two six three to
- 17:33Speaker 13: eighty two ninety and so you have that size up
- 17:36Speaker 13: front and the trenches. That's always a positive.
- 17:39Speaker 12: So you lost your leading rusher from last season. AJ
- 17:43Speaker 12: Morrison graduates after being you know, one of the most
- 17:46Speaker 12: impactful players for the Rangers over his high school career.
- 17:50Speaker 12: So who is somebody that you could see stepping up
- 17:52Speaker 12: to fill his shoes.
- 17:54Speaker 13: We have Jack who's our running back, who's fantastic. We
- 17:56Speaker 13: really felt he played a lot, you know, last year,
- 17:59Speaker 13: you know, opposite AJ. We moved Aj to some inside
- 18:01Speaker 13: receiver some so Jack got to play tailback a lot.
- 18:04Speaker 13: You know, we have him. You know, we also have
- 18:06Speaker 13: Tavan black Shirt, who's going to be really good, we think,
- 18:10Speaker 13: So we have some good options in there. Marion Gibson's
- 18:13Speaker 13: a big, a big kid who does play defensive end,
- 18:15Speaker 13: but he can also give us that kid who's two
- 18:17Speaker 13: twenty five that you can hand the ball to, you know,
- 18:20Speaker 13: so we have some options. Even Logan Taylor's a kid
- 18:23Speaker 13: who plays our inside receiver position who we think he's
- 18:26Speaker 13: going to end up being probably the next Jaquise Martin
- 18:29Speaker 13: and Keith ron Lee for us. But he can also
- 18:32Speaker 13: bounce back at that tailback. So we're going to do
- 18:34Speaker 13: it with kind of a four pronged approach.
- 18:37Speaker 12: I know, it's hard to know what your team's going
- 18:39Speaker 12: to be before you play any games. But what do
- 18:41Speaker 12: you think are going to be some keys to success
- 18:43Speaker 12: for your squad this year?
- 18:45Speaker 13: Well, you know, I think it's going to be you know,
- 18:46Speaker 13: Silas Sullivan is going to be our quarterback. You know,
- 18:49Speaker 13: we have a young kid named Belle who's going to
- 18:51Speaker 13: be Taylor Bell, who's going to be a sophomore who
- 18:54Speaker 13: we think is going to be really good for the future.
- 18:56Speaker 13: So we feel like we've got two good kids in
- 18:58Speaker 13: the quarterback position. But I really think their play is
- 19:00Speaker 13: going to be important and really just being able. I
- 19:03Speaker 13: think to run the ball behind a big offensive line
- 19:06Speaker 13: and you know, throwing when you can. We've got some
- 19:09Speaker 13: young skill guys that we were really excited about. You
- 19:12Speaker 13: know already mentioned Logan. You know, We've got Aiden Gray,
- 19:16Speaker 13: who's a kid who's a big time baseball player. He's
- 19:19Speaker 13: very explosive. You know, he had two he had a
- 19:22Speaker 13: touchdown in the last game against Waco or so he's
- 19:24Speaker 13: very explosive. Jabari Barrell is a kid who's been in
- 19:27Speaker 13: our program for four years and worked really hard Corey
- 19:31Speaker 13: Jeffery's a kid who we think can really come around.
- 19:33Speaker 13: Parker Jones another kid who's a baseball player, So you know,
- 19:36Speaker 13: we have a lot of young kids who may not
- 19:38Speaker 13: be proven yet and just kind of it's gonna be
- 19:41Speaker 13: kind of fun to see who's going to step up
- 19:42Speaker 13: and be the stars. And on the defensive end, you know,
- 19:44Speaker 13: a guy you really got to kind of watch is
- 19:46Speaker 13: Mike he Hurd. He can play a little offense too,
- 19:48Speaker 13: but he's going to be a really good cornerback for us.
- 19:50Speaker 13: Ran a ten to eight in the hundred. In the secondary,
- 19:53Speaker 13: Caden Shallow is going to be a kid who's going
- 19:55Speaker 13: to play linebacker for us. And defensive end who's going
- 19:58Speaker 13: to be good. I mentioned Jack Sharing or who's our tailback?
- 20:03Speaker 13: You know, I think those guys are going to be
- 20:05Speaker 13: some guys who can really step up. David Fernandez as
- 20:07Speaker 13: a safety for US who has a lot of experience
- 20:10Speaker 13: from playing last year. So those guys can step up.
- 20:12Speaker 13: But the guy didn't mention them too is like Cameron Ford.
- 20:15Speaker 13: He's a defensive tackle for us. He's going to give
- 20:17Speaker 13: us a lot of depth. He's a big kid who's
- 20:19Speaker 13: you know, six two two eighty four. So we're excited
- 20:22Speaker 13: about those guys.
- 20:23Speaker 12: You will be going into your eighth season as the
- 20:26Speaker 12: head coach for the Rutterer Rangers. Since you were hired
- 20:29Speaker 12: back in twenty nineteen, there has been a lot of
- 20:32Speaker 12: change in amateur athletics as a whole. There's been a
- 20:35Speaker 12: lot of change of structure of eligibility and mindset of
- 20:40Speaker 12: you know, the players looking to get recruited. So how
- 20:43Speaker 12: have you had to adjust your coaching to be able
- 20:46Speaker 12: to have success in this ever changing era.
- 20:49Speaker 13: Well, I mean, to be honest, I don't know that
- 20:50Speaker 13: it's really changed that much. You know, we always try to,
- 20:54Speaker 13: you know, find ways to get our kids, uh in
- 20:56Speaker 13: front of coaches.
- 20:58Speaker 6: Uh.
- 20:58Speaker 13: You know, we take a trip up to Dallas to
- 21:00Speaker 13: the SMU Mega can't play as seven on seven up
- 21:02Speaker 13: there also, and so we're very fortunate that we have
- 21:07Speaker 13: thirteen kids that will play college football next year at
- 21:09Speaker 13: different programs. So, I mean, we think we've done a
- 21:12Speaker 13: phenomenal job of getting kids into college that Rudders a
- 21:16Speaker 13: place where you can come play and you know the
- 21:18Speaker 13: coaches are really going to help you go to that
- 21:19Speaker 13: next level. So, I mean, we really haven't seen the
- 21:22Speaker 13: inil stuff in high school. But an example is is
- 21:25Speaker 13: like you know, Waco University had their quarterback who was
- 21:29Speaker 13: like a six to six kid. He was supposed to
- 21:32Speaker 13: be coming back as a senior. Well, he got an
- 21:34Speaker 13: inile deal in Georgia where they offer inil money and
- 21:37Speaker 13: he left for inile money in a high school. So
- 21:40Speaker 13: it is definitely changing. I don't know that it's hit Brian,
- 21:43Speaker 13: Texas yet, but I mean, you know, it's not far away.
- 21:46Speaker 4: All right.
- 21:47Speaker 12: Last question for you here in the non district we
- 21:51Speaker 12: will see, finally for the first time, and I'm not
- 21:54Speaker 12: sure how many years, but I think it's the first
- 21:55Speaker 12: time since you've been the coach at Rutter, you will
- 21:57Speaker 12: be playing your Crosstown Cross District's rival in the Brian
- 22:02Speaker 12: Vikings at Meryl Green Stadium. So how did that come
- 22:06Speaker 12: to pass and how excited are you and your players
- 22:08Speaker 12: for that rivalry game.
- 22:10Speaker 13: Well, you know, I think the kids are really excited,
- 22:13Speaker 13: you know, I think that gets them fired up. You know,
- 22:15Speaker 13: it is a coach sometime. I don't know if I'm
- 22:17Speaker 13: as excited about it, because you know, our main goal
- 22:20Speaker 13: is to be sure that we get to, you know,
- 22:23Speaker 13: get into playoffs and go that level. But the kids
- 22:25Speaker 13: just love it, the community loves it, you know, But
- 22:28Speaker 13: that that game doesn't determine a playoff spot. But it
- 22:30Speaker 13: does have a lot of pride for the town, you know,
- 22:35Speaker 13: and so the kids, I mean, you know, they've definitely
- 22:37Speaker 13: circled that week and and you know, I just don't
- 22:40Speaker 13: want our kids to get over emotional. And there's a
- 22:42Speaker 13: trophy for it, and it's it's at Rutterer because Rudder
- 22:45Speaker 13: won the last one thirty five to twenty eight. The
- 22:47Speaker 13: Vikings won the first three. I think, So it's a
- 22:50Speaker 13: big deal.
- 22:51Speaker 5: You know.
- 22:51Speaker 13: I think as a coach, you know, you have those
- 22:53Speaker 13: rival games. We got to go play a game that
- 22:55Speaker 13: next week, and so you don't want to overhype it
- 22:57Speaker 13: because then you the next week you got to go
- 22:59Speaker 13: play again. Then you got district. So you know, athletic
- 23:01Speaker 13: director Derek Rush really wanted that game to happen, and
- 23:05Speaker 13: you know, have an opportunity to you know, really you know,
- 23:08Speaker 13: bring the community together. We have a beautiful stadium and
- 23:12Speaker 13: just to see the community all out at one time.
- 23:15Speaker 13: You know, I'm a big Brian Eyes d guy, So
- 23:17Speaker 13: I don't know if I like fight against the other side,
- 23:19Speaker 13: but you know, for one week, it's going to be
- 23:22Speaker 13: the cross Down Showdown.
- 23:23Speaker 12: Thank you for your time today, coach.
- 23:25Speaker 13: All right, thanks so much.

- 24:46Speaker 10: Sine.
- 24:48Speaker 5: Caleb. We'll have another high school report on Thursday. Normally,
- 24:54Speaker 5: our high school reports during the fall will be at
- 24:56Speaker 5: four thirty, but because we are doing our s EC
- 25:00Speaker 5: preview here for a couple of weeks, our high school
- 25:04Speaker 5: report will be at four point fifteen. So phone the neighbors,
- 25:08Speaker 5: wake the kids, make sure they know that we're running
- 25:13Speaker 5: the high school report again, and then it is at
- 25:15Speaker 5: four fifteen right now. We'll switch at four point thirty
- 25:19Speaker 5: on August to twenty seventh. That's a Thursday on August
- 25:23Speaker 5: to twenty fifth again. Put this on your calendar. Will
- 25:28Speaker 5: be our prediction show for the SEC. We have determined
- 25:33Speaker 5: is the most listened to radio program in the world,
- 25:38Speaker 5: and so please no betting. It's for entertainment purposes only.
- 25:44Speaker 5: I can't keep gamblers from listening. I can only issue
- 25:47Speaker 5: the warning so I won't be confused of you know,
- 25:52Speaker 5: of giving inside information to people who make their living gambling.
- 25:58Speaker 5: We don't want to do that. I want to send
- 26:02Speaker 5: our congratulations out to Tucker and Will and Riley who
- 26:10Speaker 5: got Favorite Radio Personalities in the Best of the Brases.
- 26:17Speaker 5: I don't know why I failed to win that award
- 26:22Speaker 5: for the thirty second straight year. I haven't been able
- 26:28Speaker 5: to determine what those factors are, but we're having meetings
- 26:33Speaker 5: on a daily basis to try to figure that out.
- 26:37Speaker 5: You know, what is it that's keeping us from being
- 26:41Speaker 5: named Best Radio Personality now? I believe it's the fact
- 26:47Speaker 5: that we only have six listeners and I can't get
- 26:50Speaker 5: them to vote enough times. In the Best of the
- 26:55Speaker 5: Brass is you know, voting to stack the ballot. And
- 27:01Speaker 5: in this day and age where we're closely watching ballots
- 27:05Speaker 5: and voting and identification, it's you know, it's become a
- 27:10Speaker 5: little risky to suggest that you vote multiple times. I mean,
- 27:16Speaker 5: it happens in other states and other places, but around
- 27:19Speaker 5: here it just doesn't. So we're still trying to figure
- 27:24Speaker 5: that out. And you know, I know I've said this before.
- 27:32Speaker 5: Most days it doesn't sound like it, but most of
- 27:36Speaker 5: the time we try pretty hard. You know to have
- 27:39Speaker 5: a decent show, and the goal is always to have
- 27:44Speaker 5: one really good show a week, and I feel like
- 27:47Speaker 5: that sets a high bar for everybody, you know, to say, look,
- 27:50Speaker 5: we've got to get a really good show together. And
- 27:56Speaker 5: and most weeks, I know when that day is. Some weeks,
- 28:02Speaker 5: I'm not quite as sure. I have to wait till
- 28:04Speaker 5: the end of the week to say, you know, that
- 28:09Speaker 5: Monday show turned out to be pretty good. You know
- 28:11Speaker 5: what I'm saying. It has to do with guests. But
- 28:15Speaker 5: we're always we're always looking, and we've got we've got
- 28:20Speaker 5: some guests coming up. I can't jinx all of that
- 28:24Speaker 5: right now, but we have a few coming up. I've
- 28:27Speaker 5: been reading some books and we'll be talking to some
- 28:31Speaker 5: people here. And by the way, ever since I talked
- 28:36Speaker 5: about yesterday that AI generated top one hundred guests in
- 28:41Speaker 5: sports talk history, I keep thinking of people that you know,
- 28:51Speaker 5: weren't on the list that we've had as guests over
- 28:58Speaker 5: the years, and it's pretty substantial, frankly, And I just
- 29:10Speaker 5: you know, like yesterday, we happened to play Crystal Blue
- 29:16Speaker 5: Persuasion by Tommy James, and Tommy James has a lot
- 29:24Speaker 5: of music and a lot of number one hits, and
- 29:28Speaker 5: I said, hey, we've had Tommy James on the show.
- 29:30Speaker 5: He wasn't on that list. So there's a lot of
- 29:33Speaker 5: people that did not make the list that we've talked
- 29:37Speaker 5: to over the years. And I keep every night, like
- 29:41Speaker 5: last night, we're watching a special on the Carpenters and
- 29:44Speaker 5: I go, hey, I had Richard Carpenter on the show,
- 29:47Speaker 5: and he didn't make that list either, So maybe we
- 29:52Speaker 5: need a top one fifty guest list. Unfortunately we don't
- 29:59Speaker 5: have that today. I'm sorry. I do have Mallory today.
- 30:04Speaker 5: I do have an SEC preview today, and I do
- 30:07Speaker 5: have the Offensive Coordinator today. And if they win a lot,
- 30:12Speaker 5: maybe eventually Homan will be on that list. You know
- 30:15Speaker 5: what I'm saying, Like three, four, five, ten years down
- 30:18Speaker 5: the road, and maybe by then we will have won
- 30:22Speaker 5: a Best of the Brasses. All right, we've got an
- 30:25Speaker 5: SEC preview coming up.
- 30:27Speaker 2: I want to.
- 30:27Speaker 5: Remind you that. Well, I don't have to remind you.

- 33:18Speaker 5: a season endiguan over there in state rival Tennessee running
- 33:22Speaker 5: back Cedric Alexander from Austin. Says, the team philosophy is
- 33:26Speaker 5: pretty simple.
- 33:27Speaker 19: The message is to go want to know in everything

- 33:50Speaker 5: With a new addition to the stadium, defensive end Brian
- 33:54Speaker 5: Allen says, even though there are a lot of new faces,
- 33:57Speaker 5: there's still a connection.
- 34:00Speaker 20: You get everybody from these different schools, but it's like
- 34:02Speaker 20: we all connected somehow. Somebody knows somebody, somebody went to
- 34:06Speaker 20: school with somebody, somebody playing in high school with somebody
- 34:09Speaker 20: that I know.
- 34:10Speaker 4: So it's interesting to have.

- 42:27Speaker 5: Thanks for joining us on this Tuesday edition. Mallory will
- 42:32Speaker 5: join us in the second hour with some entertainment news.
- 42:35Speaker 5: We have a lot to catch up with. It's been
- 42:39Speaker 5: a minute since we visited with her. We're gonna hear
- 42:42Speaker 5: from offensive coordinator Homan Wiggins, who met with the media today.
- 42:51Speaker 5: Yesterday we heard from Reuben Owens and Ashton Bethel Roman,
- 42:59Speaker 5: so we went offense and so I thought we would
- 43:03Speaker 5: hear from some defense today. Uh and and we're gonna
- 43:08Speaker 5: start with lineman DJ Hicks.
- 43:14Speaker 1: First day of practice, Just what was the vibe and
- 43:16Speaker 1: the feeling out there today?
- 43:19Speaker 25: I feel like it was a it was an okay day.
- 43:21Speaker 25: You know, we got a lot of things to improve,
- 43:23Speaker 25: but that always happens in the first.
- 43:25Speaker 4: Day, you know. So yeah, that's just how I feel
- 43:27Speaker 4: about it today.
- 43:28Speaker 2: Really.
- 43:28Speaker 4: So yeah, Dj, you kind of drenched? Was it that
- 43:31Speaker 4: kind of practice? Oh? Yeah, for sure?
- 43:33Speaker 25: For sure, okay with the man a lot from this,
- 43:37Speaker 25: you know, so you just gotta go out there and
- 43:39Speaker 25: give it your hun and I feel like everybody's gonna
- 43:41Speaker 25: leave over me, over me gently go hard.
- 43:43Speaker 1: So what was the highlight from today's practice in your mind?
- 43:47Speaker 4: Something that stuck out to you.
- 43:50Speaker 25: I think one of the highlights today is just just
- 43:53Speaker 25: seeing everybody push through, uh to end the practice, you know.
- 43:57Speaker 25: I feel like, especially in the D line D line room,
- 44:00Speaker 25: I had a lot of guys uh pushed through and
- 44:02Speaker 25: uh sometimes that can be hard the first day of practice.
- 44:04Speaker 4: So I feel like that was one of the biggest
- 44:06Speaker 4: high likes today. Sure, you know, I hard to day
- 44:09Speaker 4: one right like this? Since you ever had a one
- 44:11Speaker 4: day one?
- 44:11Speaker 6: Now?
- 44:11Speaker 25: Is that like jitters?
- 44:12Speaker 4: Is a little bit of rush going off? Like what
- 44:14Speaker 4: how would you describe for that?
- 44:15Speaker 25: Uh, It's it's definitely jitters, you know, coming into coming
- 44:19Speaker 25: into something that you really care about, you know, you
- 44:21Speaker 25: always gonna be a little nervous, you know. So I
- 44:25Speaker 25: feel like it was a little bit of jitters, a
- 44:26Speaker 25: little bit of everything. But that first play, once you
- 44:29Speaker 25: get that first play done, it just turns up playing
- 44:30Speaker 25: football league.
- 44:31Speaker 12: So was there a point during today when those nervous
- 44:34Speaker 12: genders start to.
- 44:35Speaker 5: Kind of dissipate a little bit.
- 44:37Speaker 4: Oh yeah, yeah yeah.
- 44:37Speaker 25: At first play, that's from every time for me, I
- 44:40Speaker 25: get real nervous, you know, I'm real nervous type of gout.
- 44:43Speaker 25: But after the first player, I get the first little
- 44:45Speaker 25: pad pads here, I'm the good.
- 44:47Speaker 4: So it's you know, it's just been short. But what
- 44:49Speaker 4: it's uh uh been like going against this offense wants
- 44:52Speaker 4: those when you guys.
- 44:53Speaker 25: Stuff, Oh yeah, we gotta we gotta really talented offense alone.
- 44:56Speaker 25: You know, they gonna make us all all better, just
- 44:58Speaker 25: like we're gonna make them better. You know, we got
- 45:00Speaker 25: dudes like Trayvon and Cohen, all these newer guys that
- 45:03Speaker 25: came in and they were really good players. So you know, uh,
- 45:06Speaker 25: displaying against them every day long. It's mart Nabel and
- 45:09Speaker 25: dudes like that every day. It's no way I can't
- 45:11Speaker 25: get better in the way they're not gonna get better.
- 45:12Speaker 4: It's what do you think that be?
- 45:14Speaker 1: Yeah, I didn't get this sea that's aligned with the
- 45:16Speaker 1: big piece as it has and and you know help
- 45:18Speaker 1: guys are bad.
- 45:19Speaker 4: Uh, it's all the brotherhood, you know, Uh, we always
- 45:23Speaker 4: try to stick together.
- 45:23Speaker 25: You know, we always hang out together. Uh we always
- 45:26Speaker 25: got each other back. And I feel like, uh that's
- 45:29Speaker 25: really been our motto this year, is just sticking together
- 45:32Speaker 25: through anything and if we stay together and get through
- 45:34Speaker 25: anything and any time.
- 45:36Speaker 4: Did you what is it like for you? You're the
- 45:38Speaker 4: old guy Malania.
- 45:39Speaker 10: Yeah, they hear the longest and they just taking that
- 45:41Speaker 10: role of us see your guys.
- 45:43Speaker 4: Uh, man, It's it's so real.
- 45:46Speaker 25: Uh so think this is like my last fall care
- 45:48Speaker 25: probably just to to really sit back and think about that.
- 45:51Speaker 4: Man, it's just so it's so real.
- 45:52Speaker 25: I'm just taking in the moment, uh, trying to be
- 45:55Speaker 25: a leader as much as I can right now.
- 45:57Speaker 1: So, So, what's the competition you've been like among the
- 46:00Speaker 1: defensive tackles in particular you're at the off season coming
- 46:03Speaker 1: into this preseason part I.
- 46:05Speaker 25: Man, I feel like all those guys make me better,
- 46:08Speaker 25: like every day. You know, it's never Uh we got
- 46:12Speaker 25: so many talented dudes that you can never relax in
- 46:14Speaker 25: that room, you know.
- 46:15Speaker 19: Uh.
- 46:16Speaker 25: So I just feel like having dudes like Angela mccallor
- 46:19Speaker 25: Landon Ring, DJ Sanders, uh CJ Mims. Shoot, the list
- 46:23Speaker 25: goes on, like having dudes like that. Man, you you
- 46:26Speaker 25: can't never relax and it it just makes you a
- 46:28Speaker 25: better player and a better you know, with.
- 46:30Speaker 5: A person you know in your career, you like go
- 46:32Speaker 5: kind of what's the message and what's kind of been the.
- 46:35Speaker 24: Kind of this this year's team.
- 46:38Speaker 4: Uh, I feel like our biggest message. I feel like
- 46:40Speaker 4: UH has just been like just to finish, you know. Uh.
- 46:44Speaker 4: We had UH two years in a row where I
- 46:46Speaker 4: f we feel like we haven't really done that yet.
- 46:49Speaker 25: So I think our biggest thing this year is probably
- 46:51Speaker 25: just to finish and go hard every single player, you know.
- 46:54Speaker 1: So playing behind Howard and to Hower last year, what
- 46:58Speaker 1: were kind of the biggest things you learn from two
- 47:00Speaker 1: guys who got drafted?
- 47:01Speaker 4: Yeah, what do you think you get a fly point?
- 47:03Speaker 5: Len?
- 47:04Speaker 4: Uh?
- 47:04Speaker 21: To yall?
- 47:05Speaker 4: I learned a lot from to y'all. I learned uh
- 47:08Speaker 4: his get off. He always tried to get off the ball.
- 47:10Speaker 25: He always tell me, UH, just rush the pass to
- 47:13Speaker 25: every play you be alright, So just his get off
- 47:16Speaker 25: and UH following him, and then learned for a big
- 47:18Speaker 25: hour some of the things that Alverd can do. I
- 47:20Speaker 25: I I can't really do cause he's such a strong guy,
- 47:22Speaker 25: I know, but but I've just learned so much with him,
- 47:25Speaker 25: just his leadership and the way he took care of himself.
- 47:27Speaker 25: He took care of his business every day. And that's
- 47:29Speaker 25: basically the two things I tried to implement it from
- 47:31Speaker 25: both of him, both of their games.
- 47:33Speaker 1: What what were some of the main things that you
- 47:35Speaker 1: stopped to work on this off season to take a
- 47:37Speaker 1: step in your game and just how you felt like
- 47:39Speaker 1: you progress.
- 47:39Speaker 4: In those areas.
- 47:40Speaker 19: Uh.
- 47:40Speaker 25: I feel like my biggest thing was I wanted to
- 47:42Speaker 25: come in and give myself the best opportunity uh by
- 47:46Speaker 25: being in shape and uh coming in and uh getting.
- 47:50Speaker 4: My body right and getting my mind right.
- 47:52Speaker 25: And I think the biggest things I've had to focus
- 47:54Speaker 25: on his mind my ball get off and getting off
- 47:56Speaker 25: the rock.
- 47:56Speaker 4: Uh, and the past years, I feel like I wasn't
- 47:58Speaker 4: doing that as well. So those are the big smoke
- 48:00Speaker 4: as key points for me this year, UH speak year.
- 48:03Speaker 4: I wanna ask a little bit about some younger guys
- 48:05Speaker 4: and yes it's group talk about name you just seen
- 48:08Speaker 4: your your guys in the first Spirit ride. How do
- 48:10Speaker 4: you feel like those guys are transitioning and the program developing.
- 48:13Speaker 25: They're they're transitioning really well. Uh, They're doing everything that
- 48:16Speaker 25: you can ask for him. You know, they wy work
- 48:18Speaker 25: really hard, they play really hard. You know, they come
- 48:21Speaker 25: in every single day tryna learn and soak up everything,
- 48:23Speaker 25: you know, and they listen very well.
- 48:25Speaker 4: So uh, they've done everything that do a want from
- 48:28Speaker 4: younger guys in the room.
- 48:30Speaker 1: What is the Angelo specific bring to the table and
- 48:33Speaker 1: just how you feel like he is particulars fit into
- 48:36Speaker 1: the stee Lions.
- 48:37Speaker 25: And for Angelo is a kid that you like, a
- 48:39Speaker 25: dude that you could definitely tell loves the game of football. Uh,
- 48:42Speaker 25: he always wants to be better, and he he always
- 48:45Speaker 25: wants to learn, you know, and he brings in this
- 48:47Speaker 25: type of tenacitiest type of violence about him that that
- 48:51Speaker 25: we really need in the room, you know. And and
- 48:54Speaker 25: he's gonna be really special. I feel like he's gonna
- 48:56Speaker 25: do a lot of great things too, did ja.
- 48:58Speaker 1: What was it like for your first year year just
- 49:00Speaker 1: kind of being more of that back up role and
- 49:02Speaker 1: then now what it potentially to start with starting what
- 49:05Speaker 1: was it might kind of.
- 49:06Speaker 15: Waiting your time for me until you're highly ready to improve,
- 49:09Speaker 15: and now.
- 49:09Speaker 4: This is kind of your time.
- 49:11Speaker 25: Uh, it's been a little harder at first, but you know,
- 49:14Speaker 25: you gotta run your race. Uh Older, I got uh
- 49:17Speaker 25: the more I noticed that, Uh, and everybody, everybody can't
- 49:20Speaker 25: be through or done, you know, not everybody's meant to
- 49:22Speaker 25: start right away.
- 49:23Speaker 19: You know.
- 49:23Speaker 25: You just gotta run your race and take your time,
- 49:26Speaker 25: and with time and with learning you you will become
- 49:28Speaker 25: what you wanna be.
- 49:29Speaker 4: So what kept you from being too impatient? Wanna go
- 49:33Speaker 4: somewhere else? Or what that? What's your get on?
- 49:35Speaker 19: Uh?
- 49:36Speaker 4: My main, My main, My two biggest things that I
- 49:38Speaker 4: just love this place. Uh. I love being here. I
- 49:40Speaker 4: love being an Aggy. So it's really hard for me
- 49:43Speaker 4: to wanna lead.
- 49:43Speaker 25: And and also my coaching staff and playing for coach
- 49:46Speaker 25: Elcob and how they believe in me and and how
- 49:49Speaker 25: they've beloved me into a better man and as well
- 49:51Speaker 25: as a better player. It's so it's so hard to
- 49:53Speaker 25: just wanna lead at this place. So I really believe
- 49:55Speaker 25: in the stuff that we can do here.
- 49:57Speaker 4: Is there something extra fun about this first couple of
- 50:00Speaker 4: years we go on practice at night you don't have school.
- 50:02Speaker 4: Kind of feels a little bit more like uh like
- 50:04Speaker 4: a probe to prook camp or something like that. Uh,
- 50:08Speaker 4: a little bit, you know, Uh, we not we not
- 50:10Speaker 4: there yet.
- 50:10Speaker 25: Not at the level of the pros, you know, but
- 50:13Speaker 25: but it does feel like, uh, we just go out
- 50:15Speaker 25: there and just focus on ball, you know, that's you know,
- 50:18Speaker 25: that's what we like to do. So I feel like
- 50:20Speaker 25: that was that's just how it feels to me, is Yeah,
- 50:22Speaker 25: we can just go just play football, do what we
- 50:25Speaker 25: love to do.
- 50:26Speaker 4: You mentioned the offensive line earlier.
- 50:27Speaker 1: I'm curious about Mark and specific just y what what
- 50:30Speaker 1: he's meant for maybe bridging the gap with the new
- 50:32Speaker 1: guys that they have on that offensive line, and just
- 50:34Speaker 1: where you've seen.
- 50:35Speaker 4: Him grow in his game this some sason.
- 50:36Speaker 25: Yeah, he's a U really good leader, older guy. You know,
- 50:39Speaker 25: a lot of those dudes in that room, the younger guys.
- 50:42Speaker 25: I could tell they they look at him, you know,
- 50:44Speaker 25: cause he has been a veteran in that room. And
- 50:47Speaker 25: like I said, Mark pushes me, uh to even be
- 50:49Speaker 25: better every day.
- 50:50Speaker 21: You know.
- 50:51Speaker 4: Uh, he's grown so much into a better player. So yeah,
- 50:55Speaker 4: I just try to go in him and he j
- 50:56Speaker 4: try to go at me every day.
- 50:57Speaker 5: Soon that's d J Hicks. Uh coach Himphill We'll hear
- 51:01Speaker 5: from him probably tomorrow. Said that DJ Hicks is one
- 51:07Speaker 5: of the best linemen he's ever coached, and he's expected
- 51:13Speaker 5: big things from him this this year. That's high praise
- 51:18Speaker 5: from a guy that's been coaching for a while. Interesting.
- 51:24Speaker 5: You know, it's always interesting to be in front of
- 51:27Speaker 5: the coordinators and see how they handle themselves and some
- 51:36Speaker 5: One of the reporters asked coach Hemphill today, hey, have
- 51:41Speaker 5: you thought about the fact that you've reached this position
- 51:46Speaker 5: as defensive coordinator at major university because he and Elko
- 51:51Speaker 5: go way back, and there was a pause and he
- 51:58Speaker 5: said no. He said, I'm in that time. I'm focused
- 52:03Speaker 5: so hard on today and on getting guys better. I
- 52:08Speaker 5: haven't had time to look at the big picture and
- 52:10Speaker 5: step back and see things like that. It was also
- 52:15Speaker 5: interesting listening to Homan Wiggins today, who we're gonna hear
- 52:19Speaker 5: from here in a few minutes. I was talking to
- 52:25Speaker 5: Dusty and I said, you know, he talks as fast
- 52:31Speaker 5: as Jimbo did, but he's asked, actually answering all the questions.
- 52:40Speaker 5: Even though Jimbo talked fast and most of the time
- 52:44Speaker 5: Jimbo was fairly direct, I will say that, but you know,
- 52:48Speaker 5: there were there times there were some tangents and things.
- 52:51Speaker 5: But yeah, home home and Wiggins talked like he he
- 52:58Speaker 5: was double parked in a no parking today. He answered
- 53:02Speaker 5: all the questions and still is. You know, it's about
- 53:06Speaker 5: close to fifteen minutes, but yeah, he was. He was
- 53:11Speaker 5: flying through those answers. And again we're going to let
- 53:16Speaker 5: you hear that here in a few minutes. Tomorrow I
- 53:24Speaker 5: mentioned that Scott Clandennon is going to be with us.
- 53:28Speaker 5: Mallory will be back with us tomorrow, and then on
- 53:31Speaker 5: Thursday we've got our Clark Eisenhower Outdoor Edition. We have
- 53:37Speaker 5: obviously some animal attack stories. We have the story of
- 53:43Speaker 5: a I think it's a three and a half million
- 53:46Speaker 5: dollar white marlin that was caught at a tournament I
- 53:51Speaker 5: believe in Virginia recently. These guys who do deep sea
- 53:58Speaker 5: fishing and fishies tournaments, there aren't any poor people that
- 54:05Speaker 5: do this. They have very large boats, very expensive boats,
- 54:10Speaker 5: seven figure boats in a lot of cases, and some
- 54:15Speaker 5: of these guys travel and fish continually and a lot
- 54:19Speaker 5: of these tournaments. The entry fees themselves are a lot,
- 54:26Speaker 5: but if you hit, and the competition is crazy, if
- 54:32Speaker 5: you hit, you get things like a three and a
- 54:35Speaker 5: half million dollar check which will buy some gasoline to
- 54:41Speaker 5: get out to the fishing grounds and back right, it
- 54:45Speaker 5: will pay for a few travel expenses. But following these guys,
- 54:50Speaker 5: it's amazing. Like I said, there aren't any people hurting
- 54:57Speaker 5: for money that fish in those kind of tournament. I digress.
- 55:01Speaker 5: That's Thursday. We'll have another high school report on Thursday
- 55:04Speaker 5: as well. My friend Joe Worsak has been owning and
- 55:11Speaker 5: operating marble Craft for over twenty five years. He just
- 55:15Speaker 5: recently finished a bathroom remodel at my daughter's house, and
- 55:22Speaker 5: this is what he does every day, installing granted courts, countertops,
- 55:26Speaker 5: redoing kitchen, bathrooms, and nothing is going to increase the
- 55:32Speaker 5: value of your existing home like redoing your kitchen and
- 55:35Speaker 5: your bathrooms. If you want an example of the kinds
- 55:39Speaker 5: of work he does, stop by their showroom in Brian
- 55:42Speaker 5: at West Carson and Finfeather and you can see examples
- 55:47Speaker 5: of what I'm talking about. You won't have any problem
- 55:53Speaker 5: getting references from hundreds, and I think by now thousands
- 55:58Speaker 5: of people that Joe has worked worked with over the years.
- 56:02Speaker 5: You call him, he's gonna come out, give you an estimate,
- 56:06Speaker 5: do the work he says he's gonna do every day
