- 0:32Speaker 1: So I really am not entirely sure what the hell
- 1:45Speaker 1: I would do without my Optical Expressions spectacles. Frankly, I
- 1:54Speaker 1: would be screwed without these glasses from Optical Expressions, at
- 2:01Speaker 1: least here in the studio where I've been struggling lately.
- 2:06Speaker 1: To When I say lately, I'm actually talking about the
- 2:09Speaker 1: last couple of years to read stuff. Stop in, find
- 2:14Speaker 1: out about progressive lenses, ask any question that you want
- 2:21Speaker 1: from the team. The family members over there, and that's
- 2:26Speaker 1: what I call them, because they may not be related biologically,
- 2:31Speaker 1: but they are such a tight knit group over there
- 2:33Speaker 1: at Optical Expressions. Great, great people. I got two sets
- 2:36Speaker 1: of glasses from them over there, open Monday through Friday
- 2:40Speaker 1: from eight to six. Hey, they're open right now in
- 2:43Speaker 1: their new location, which is actually not that really new anymore.
- 2:48Speaker 1: I mean, I think most people know. They're on the
- 2:50Speaker 1: fourth floor of the Blanchard Block right here in the
- 2:52Speaker 1: Granite City. Find out more. Check them out on Facebook.
- 2:55Speaker 1: Stop in, schedule and appointment. You know you need that
- 2:58Speaker 1: eye exam. Don't wait any longer two two three, twenty
- 3:02Speaker 1: ninety and get things going. We're on the web at
- 3:07Speaker 1: airedoutvt dot com or streamed everywhere you'll get your podcasts,
- 3:11Speaker 1: no matter where you download them, you'll find us aired
- 3:14Speaker 1: out live on Facebook and YouTube. This morning. We've got
- 3:19Speaker 1: rain showers across New England yesterday helping to kind of
- 3:24Speaker 1: damper down the Canadian wildfire smoke a little bit. Is
- 3:29Speaker 1: it my imagination or is it literally every summer we
- 3:36Speaker 1: have a major Canadian wildfire every summer. We have so
- 3:45Speaker 1: much to talk about this morning, so much to get to.
- 3:48Speaker 1: Cloudy skies this morning officially partly cloudy for the afternoon.
- 3:54Speaker 1: Eighty seven degrees for the daytime high today. Yeah, air conditioner,
- 4:04Speaker 1: go and stay in for a little bit longer tonight.
- 4:07Speaker 1: It's seventy degrees right now, by the way, seventy already,
- 4:11Speaker 1: I should say, in case you are not aware that
- 4:15Speaker 1: it is the twenty eighth now of July. My god,
- 4:19Speaker 1: it's almost August, eleven minutes after nine o'clock. Thanks for
- 4:26Speaker 1: tuning in this morning, Thanks for joining me, Thanks for
- 4:29Speaker 1: having fun with me. I hope it is my hope
- 4:36Speaker 1: that I can inspire you in some way. I can't
- 4:40Speaker 1: do it every morning, but maybe I can today, Maybe
- 4:43Speaker 1: make you smile a little bit, give you something that
- 4:48Speaker 1: maybe you weren't aware of. I don't know if I can,
- 4:51Speaker 1: I can, If I can, I can't, Uh where am I?
- 4:56Speaker 1: Mondays are kind of rough sometimes, especially when I haven't
- 5:04Speaker 1: had copious amounts of coffee, which is the case this morning.
- 5:11Speaker 1: But I'm still feeling good, and I'm still ready to go,
- 5:13Speaker 1: and I'm still happy to be with you. I'll tell
- 5:16Speaker 1: you where I'll be tonight. My fat ass is going
- 5:21Speaker 1: to be sitting on my patio out in the backyard
- 5:26Speaker 1: doing some stargazing. We don't have months and months and
- 5:34Speaker 1: months of opportunities to do stuff like this. When it's
- 5:40Speaker 1: sixty six degrees like it's supposed to be tonight and
- 5:47Speaker 1: the stars are out, That's where I am. I'm out
- 5:52Speaker 1: on the patio and I can't wait. I just I
- 5:56Speaker 1: love summertime. I love summertime up here in New England.
- 6:02Speaker 1: Just a pinch of chill in the air. Not much tomorrow, Tuesday,
- 6:12Speaker 1: twenty ninth, partly cloudy, eighty six degrees. I don't know
- 6:18Speaker 1: about you, but I love that. I know there's some
- 6:20Speaker 1: of you that oh my god, the heat act. Remember
- 6:25Speaker 1: a couple of months ago it was, oh my god,
- 6:29Speaker 1: the cold ap Wednesday, scattered clouds, possibility of an isolated
- 6:35Speaker 1: thunderstorm in the afternoon eighty one degrees. I'm just paying
- 6:46Speaker 1: more attention to that. Let's see isolated thunder drums in
- 6:49Speaker 1: the afternoon eighty one Okay, So hopefully and I'll be
- 6:53Speaker 1: paying attention to that forecast because Wednesday, as you know,
- 6:57Speaker 1: the Farmer's Marketing Curier Park, we get the food trucks,
- 7:01Speaker 1: we got live music in the park every Wednesday. They
- 7:03Speaker 1: do it all at the middle of the week. Now
- 7:07Speaker 1: this is the first summer they're doing that. Chris Powers
- 7:09Speaker 1: is playing on Wednesday. Can hardly wait. Love that guy, literally,
- 7:13Speaker 1: I love that guy, such a great dude. I'm going
- 7:17Speaker 1: to be chatting with him at some point. I don't
- 7:20Speaker 1: know when. We're going to figure it out. By the
- 7:23Speaker 1: time Thursday gets here a little cooler, cloudy sky's seventy
- 7:26Speaker 1: three Friday looks pretty good weekend. Actually, it looks pretty
- 7:30Speaker 1: good sunshine and seventies for the daytime high. I wonder
- 7:36Speaker 1: how many of you out there are like me and Sherilyn,
- 7:42Speaker 1: trying to figure out how we're going to get it
- 7:45Speaker 1: all done before the snowflies. There is a balance during
- 7:55Speaker 1: the summer here in North or New England, where we
- 7:58Speaker 1: try to go with ourselves and have fun, recreate, run
- 8:05Speaker 1: around on dirt bikes, thinking that we're eighteen years old again.
- 8:11Speaker 1: I can fish and camp and whatever it is, up
- 8:13Speaker 1: with the camp whatever, wherever you're going, six flags whatever.
- 8:19Speaker 1: There's the balance between all of that and looking at
- 8:26Speaker 1: your house and saying, oh my god, I gotta get
- 8:29Speaker 1: that done before the snowflies. And I got to get
- 8:34Speaker 1: that done before the snowflies, and what about the new roof.
- 8:42Speaker 1: I'm not even going to tell you about my garden.
- 8:47Speaker 1: I'm not even going to go there right now, at
- 8:49Speaker 1: least I'm not prepared emotionally to talk about the condition
- 8:54Speaker 1: of my garden this morning. But at some point, a
- 9:00Speaker 1: tranquilizer and I will tell you how much it didn't
- 9:05Speaker 1: work out and why. By the way, if you're curious
- 9:12Speaker 1: to know, the old Farmer's Almanac is coming out in September,
- 9:17Speaker 1: as it has since in your mind right now, take
- 9:22Speaker 1: a guess how long it's that the Farmer's Almanac has
- 9:26Speaker 1: been coming out. Think about that if you would ask me, uh,
- 9:32Speaker 1: and I honestly didn't know if you had asked me, Hey, JD,
- 9:35Speaker 1: how long do you think the Farmer's Almanac has been out,
- 9:38Speaker 1: I would probably have said, I don't know. Nineteen hundred,
- 9:43Speaker 1: nineteen oh one, seventeen ninety two, seventeen ninety two. Washington
- 9:59Speaker 1: was the president when the Farmer's Almanac came out, and
- 10:04Speaker 1: it's still coming out again. It'll be out in September,
- 10:09Speaker 1: and every time it hits it's the New York Times bestseller.
- 10:15Speaker 1: Recipes are pretty cool in there. I'm not sure if
- 10:17Speaker 1: I subscribe much to what it says for the weather.
- 10:26Speaker 1: I don't know. Maybe if I don't know, maybe if
- 10:31Speaker 1: i'd literally read it page after page after page, cover
- 10:34Speaker 1: to cover, I might, But I don't know. I think
- 10:37Speaker 1: the weather is just what it is. And if you
- 10:41Speaker 1: don't like it, at least here in New England, wait
- 10:44Speaker 1: a minute, and it's going to change up on you.
- 10:48Speaker 1: Be careful this week, Be careful this morning. If you're
- 10:51Speaker 1: out in the roads with the construction that's going on,
- 10:58Speaker 1: I'm just as guilty as as anyone else, of cruising along,
- 11:03Speaker 1: get the music going, windows down, wind in the hair,
- 11:09Speaker 1: if you have any and just enjoying life, and all
- 11:14Speaker 1: of a sudden come around the corner and there's that
- 11:17Speaker 1: person in the fluorescent attire standing out there with a
- 11:21Speaker 1: stop sign and you gotta get on the brakes. Just
- 11:25Speaker 1: pay attention, stay off the phone. Birthdays today Candy Kassani,
- 11:32Speaker 1: Ashley Ganye, Dotna bar Sylvia Boydston, Bob Tassie Dick, Alaane,
- 11:41Speaker 1: Tasha Pierce. Yesterday it was Annie Finnegan's birthday. I haven't
- 11:44Speaker 1: seen her in a long time. I'll tell you what
- 11:48Speaker 1: we're gonna what we're gonna do. I'm gonna run down
- 11:50Speaker 1: a little bit of sports, not much. We're gonna recap
- 11:57Speaker 1: the weekend, the Heritage Festival a little bit. I'm going
- 12:00Speaker 1: to give you a little bit of Vermont news, some
- 12:03Speaker 1: of which a lot of which I've already posted up
- 12:05Speaker 1: on the aired Out page. If you care to have
- 12:09Speaker 1: a gander Channel five NBC Channel five. They do a
- 12:16Speaker 1: super job. And if you've if you're a regular follower
- 12:21Speaker 1: of aired Out, you've probably noticed that a lot of
- 12:24Speaker 1: the Vermont news that I get is from them. There's
- 12:30Speaker 1: good reason for that. I don't think that I need
- 12:35Speaker 1: to tell you what those reasons are. You probably already know.
- 12:40Speaker 1: But the links to some trending Vermont stories are on
- 12:48Speaker 1: there right now. From early this morning and then we're
- 12:52Speaker 1: going to talk about some national stuff. We're gonna show
- 12:56Speaker 1: yea and some world stuff. The world news is and
- 13:01Speaker 1: a lot of the national news is kind of heavy.
- 13:05Speaker 1: I think you probably know that if you're paying attention.
- 13:07Speaker 1: I met some people over the Heritage weekend who were like, JD,
- 13:15Speaker 1: we know you. We catch every now and then, we
- 13:19Speaker 1: catch a podcast, but we don't follow what's going on
- 13:26Speaker 1: in the news anywhere. And I was like, not even
- 13:32Speaker 1: hearing Vermont And they're like, Nah, just don't have time
- 13:35Speaker 1: for it. We're just busy enjoying life, getting on with
- 13:40Speaker 1: our stuff. Two people, husband, wife, happy as a clan.
- 13:48Speaker 1: Those are good for you, man, that's good for you. Yeah.
- 13:52Speaker 1: What we don't know is you know what we don't know.
- 13:55Speaker 1: But what we do know is that we're happy to
- 13:57Speaker 1: be alive, and we're happy to be together. And we
- 14:00Speaker 1: got our garden and our dogs and our house and
- 14:02Speaker 1: we got a great view and we look at the
- 14:04Speaker 1: sunset every night and that's it. That's all we know.
- 14:07Speaker 1: We don't even watch TV. Wow, what do you think
- 14:18Speaker 1: about stuff like that? Has someone never said that to you?
- 14:22Speaker 1: I know, I'm getting on a I'm getting in a

- 15:05Speaker 1: the final home game. I know they're playing tonight and
- 15:09Speaker 1: they're gonna find out tonight. Where are they playing Worcester,
- 15:11Speaker 1: I think, and they're gonna find out whether the season's
- 15:17Speaker 1: over and not butt. I see Sanford on the schedule
- 15:22Speaker 1: for Recreation Field in Montpellier tomorrow night. I'm hoping that
