- 0:34Speaker 2: know why.
- 0:35Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 0:36Speaker 2: It feels extra dark out.
- 0:37Speaker 4: I wonder why. Do we have clouds today we don't realize?
- 0:40Speaker 2: It is supposed to be cloudy today.
- 0:42Speaker 4: Oh, is it?
- 0:42Speaker 2: Maybe that's it. Either way, I'm excited. It's supposed to
- 0:44Speaker 2: be cloudy today and tomorrow and maybe even rain on Sunday, Candice.
- 0:47Speaker 5: Yay!
- 0:48Speaker 4: I had rain last night.
- 0:49Speaker 2: Oh, you did?
- 0:50Speaker 4: Yeah, we went down to DeSoto to the BMX track
- 0:53Speaker 4: to let Enzo, you know, practice again. And we came
- 0:56Speaker 4: out and it just started pouring rain. It was glorious.
- 0:59Speaker 2: It was glorious.
- 1:00Speaker 4: It was glorious. I mean, it only lasted for like
- 1:03Speaker 4: five minutes.
- 1:04Speaker 2: Sounds pretty glorious. Yeah, it does. You know what else
- 1:06Speaker 2: is glorious?
- 1:07Speaker 6: What?
- 1:08Speaker 2: Look at my hand. Oh, yeah.
- 1:10Speaker 4: Yeah, you never text me yesterday. When we left work,
- 1:12Speaker 4: I said, text me about your hand. Let me know
- 1:14Speaker 4: what the doctor says.
- 1:15Speaker 2: Yep, I'm out of my splint. I know I forgot.
- 1:17Speaker 2: I was excited, but I don't have a splint on.
- 1:19Speaker 2: I broke my hand.
- 1:20Speaker 4: Right.
- 1:20Speaker 2: My fourth metacarpal. and it's out of the.
- 1:23Speaker 4: Splint yay congrats.
- 1:25Speaker 2: So i'm super excited just in time for the corny
- 1:27Speaker 2: dog walk tomorrow because that's awesome i'm already gonna be
- 1:30Speaker 2: hot and sweaty wearing a corny dog outfit yeah you
- 1:32Speaker 2: know walking to the fair much less having a some
- 1:34Speaker 2: big splint and brace on my hand yeah so yeah
- 1:38Speaker 2: so that was a good day.
- 1:39Speaker 4: That is awesome but for people who may find you
- 1:41Speaker 4: on the route tomorrow maybe you don't want to shake
- 1:43Speaker 4: hands with everybody is it like how how like Gingerly,
- 1:47Speaker 4: do you have to treat your arm now?
- 1:48Speaker 2: Can we not say gingerly?
- 1:49Speaker 4: I couldn't think of a word.
- 1:51Speaker 2: What's gingerly?
- 1:51Speaker 4: How much care do we need to give to your
- 1:53Speaker 4: hand as you're recovering without the splint?
- 1:55Speaker 2: I can't clap yet.
- 1:57Speaker 4: Okay, no clapping. What's on the no list?
- 2:00Speaker 2: The funny thing is the doctor warned me about Texas handshakes.
- 2:03Speaker 4: Okay, exactly.
- 2:04Speaker 2: Oh, yeah, bringing it in. Yeah, he's like, yeah, I'd
- 2:07Speaker 2: be careful. You know, he's like, don't do anything too crazy.
- 2:09Speaker 2: Just get the range of motion back because I still
- 2:11Speaker 2: can't really move it.
- 2:11Speaker 4: You might want to wear that splint tomorrow so people
- 2:14Speaker 4: know not to, like, shake your hand real hard.
- 2:16Speaker 2: Yeah, I don't know. I don't want to hug. I can't.
- 2:18Speaker 2: I'd rather hug. I like hugging. Okay.
- 2:21Speaker 3: I hug.
- 2:21Speaker 2: Can you fist bump? You can't fist bump. I can't
- 2:24Speaker 2: close my hand yet.
- 2:25Speaker 4: Yeah, no high five.
- 2:26Speaker 2: It's just open right now. I know. All right. Excuse me, Candace,
- 2:31Speaker 2: why'd you laugh? Either way, one step at a time.
- 2:34Speaker 4: Yeah, be careful around Billy's hand tomorrow.
- 2:37Speaker 2: It's going to be fine, guys. I don't need to
- 2:38Speaker 2: be careful. I'm just saying I can't bring it in
- 2:40Speaker 2: for a big manly handshake, you know?
- 2:42Speaker 4: Well, yeah.
- 2:43Speaker 2: Or a big womanly handshake. Sometimes women do shake hands hard.
- 2:47Speaker 4: No, I know.
- 2:48Speaker 2: Some of Pooh's exes grab your hand and bring you in. Oh,
- 2:50Speaker 2: they love to squeeze. Oh, they'll squeeze. Either way, I'm
- 2:54Speaker 2: excited about that. We close our eyes and imagine you're
- 2:56Speaker 2: some food and be like, mm. Exactly. Uh-oh. What's up
- 2:59Speaker 2: with you, Candace Lopez?
- 3:00Speaker 4: Well, I got so many comments yesterday about the Pooh
- 3:03Speaker 4: walking through the mall video.
- 3:04Speaker 2: Oh, I know.
- 3:05Speaker 3: So good.
- 3:05Speaker 4: And all the messages that we got saying, like, leave
- 3:08Speaker 4: Pooh alone. Be nice. So I responded to a bunch
- 3:10Speaker 4: of them. And I said, you know what? When we
- 3:11Speaker 4: open the show tomorrow- I'm going to give Pooh a
- 3:13Speaker 4: chance to just roast me back if he.
- 3:15Speaker 2: Would like to.
- 3:16Speaker 4: Yeah, it's fair game. I'm here for it. You know,
- 3:19Speaker 4: we joke and like fun.
- 3:20Speaker 2: Are we doing mean messages?
- 3:22Speaker 4: We've known each other for decades. This is like family,
- 3:24Speaker 4: brothers and sisters. So Pooh, yeah, if you want to
- 3:26Speaker 4: read a mean message about me.
- 3:28Speaker 2: I don't have anything on you. Candace, would you like
- 3:31Speaker 2: to roast Candace right now? Producer Pooh, this is your shot.
- 3:34Speaker 1: Yes.
- 3:35Speaker 4: Now or never.
- 3:36Speaker 2: I don't have nothing to say. You threw me off guard. Okay, well.
- 3:39Speaker 2: I tell everybody.
- 3:40Speaker 6: Everybody was asking me. They were like, you got to
- 3:42Speaker 6: get Billy and Candace back. But I'm like, dude, we're family.
- 3:45Speaker 6: We do this all the time.
- 3:46Speaker 2: First of all, it wasn't me anyway. I didn't make
- 3:48Speaker 2: fun of the way you walk. You've seen that walk
- 3:51Speaker 2: for how many years now? I'm used to it. Yeah.
- 3:54Speaker 2: I like it. It's nice. Everybody else was sending DMs
- 3:56Speaker 2: about it. Yeah, they haven't seen it at all. I
- 4:01Speaker 2: was just telling you what people said about it. I'm
- 4:03Speaker 2: just a messenger, okay, with a bad hand. Yeah, you
- 4:07Speaker 2: didn't do anything wrong.
- 4:08Speaker 4: I mean, I did make the video, but it's fine.
- 4:10Speaker 2: The video is funny. I don't care what anybody says.
- 4:13Speaker 2: My son's grounded, by the way. No, he's not.
- 4:15Speaker 3: Oh, no.
- 4:17Speaker 2: He's the one who took the video and ratted Pooh out.
- 4:19Speaker 2: I couldn't believe he snitched on me.
- 4:20Speaker 4: I know.
- 4:21Speaker 2: What's going on with you, Producer Pooh? Oh, you know what?
- 4:23Speaker 6: I got told by my boy's wife, Bryce and Stacey.
- 4:26Speaker 6: Shout out to Stacey. I was like, we were talking
- 4:28Speaker 6: about me being single, and she was like, you know
- 4:30Speaker 6: what you need to do? You need to start going, like,
- 4:32Speaker 6: to different places.
- 4:33Speaker 2: I was like, where? Different places? Yeah. To look for
- 4:36Speaker 2: single girls?
- 4:37Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 4:37Speaker 2: She's like, you need to get out more. And I
- 4:39Speaker 2: was like, well, I'm not going to bars. You're always out.
- 4:41Speaker 2: Bars and stuff like that. She was like, start going.
- 4:43Speaker 6: To, like, coffee shops. She's like, you can find some
- 4:48Speaker 6: nice girls at coffee shops.
- 4:49Speaker 4: Yeah, girls love coffee.
- 4:51Speaker 2: Yeah, but what am I going to do? Post up
- 4:53Speaker 2: with a computer or something?
- 4:55Speaker 4: I mean, you could. You could just work at the
- 4:56Speaker 4: coffee shop.
- 4:57Speaker 2: Work? Dang, now he's got to get a job?
- 5:01Speaker 4: I mean, instead of staying around here working on your
- 5:04Speaker 4: new computer, you could just go to the coffee shop
- 5:06Speaker 4: and work after the show.
- 5:07Speaker 2: That's what she said. She said women like guys who
- 5:08Speaker 2: are business type. And I was like, eh. I don't
- 5:11Speaker 2: know if I'll fit that mold.
- 5:12Speaker 4: Business type.
- 5:13Speaker 2: Business type. Yeah, you know.
- 5:14Speaker 4: Well, yeah, they have goals. They have careers.
- 5:16Speaker 2: This is coming from the guy who's walking to the
- 5:18Speaker 2: fair tomorrow in a corny dog outfit. I was like,
- 5:22Speaker 2: I just can't go post up at Starbucks. They said
- 5:24Speaker 2: they like a man in uniform, so I figured corny
- 5:26Speaker 2: dog it is.
- 5:28Speaker 4: Go work at the coffee shop in your corny dog costume.
- 5:31Speaker 4: Everyone will talk to you.
- 5:32Speaker 2: Who do you think is going to get a girlfriend first,
- 5:33Speaker 2: Pooh or me? Probably me. Yeah, I would think so.
- 5:37Speaker 2: At this point, I hope so.
- 5:38Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 5:39Speaker 2: I hope it is, Pooh. You know, I got a
- 5:40Speaker 2: couple lined up. Well, it's tough for me today, I'll
- 5:44Speaker 2: tell you that much anyway.
- 5:45Speaker 3: Oh, yeah.
- 5:45Speaker 4: Yeah, I heard. I'm sorry.
- 5:47Speaker 2: He's going through some things. Ella Langley has a boyfriend.
- 5:50Speaker 2: She came out. What I know. Listen to how he
- 5:52Speaker 2: even says it.
- 5:53Speaker 4: What's his name?
- 5:54Speaker 2: Tucker. Tucker. Tucker Wetmore. Some country singer. I can sing country.
- 6:03Speaker 2: First of all, I've done it pretty much. You need
- 6:05Speaker 2: a country name though.
- 6:07Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 6:07Speaker 4: He just doesn't know.
- 6:08Speaker 2: Okay. So what? He has like an eight pack. I
- 6:11Speaker 2: can have an eight. I'm on my way. Yeah. I'll
- 6:14Speaker 2: be there summer body coming soon. Yeah. Summer 27. Summer 47.
- 6:21Speaker 2: But either way, it's tough watching your ex move on. Yeah.
- 6:24Speaker 3: Your ex.
- 6:24Speaker 2: Oh, and then you're going to do this to me?
- 6:27Speaker 2: My bad. This is what you're going to do to me?
- 6:29Speaker 7: My bad.
- 6:30Speaker 4: Oh, choosing Tucker, I can tell.
- 6:33Speaker 1: Oh!
- 6:34Speaker 8: Yeah, yeah.
- 6:36Speaker 1: That's Texas Top Stories on the 10s with Billy the
- 6:38Speaker 1: Kid in the morning.
- 6:39Speaker 3: Only on the new Mix 102.9.
- 6:41Speaker 2: All right. We've got that State Fair of Texas season
- 6:44Speaker 2: pass coming up next if you want that on the
- 6:46Speaker 2: 10s all day. Make sure you're listening on the iHeartRadio app, too.
- 6:48Speaker 2: Have that open and ready to go. Candace Lopez, what's up?
- 6:51Speaker 4: Well, the North Texas Tollway Authority is adding seven more
- 6:54Speaker 4: states to their network of where you can keep driving
- 6:57Speaker 4: on toll roads with your toll tag. So everywhere from Pennsylvania, Massachusetts,
- 7:01Speaker 4: North Carolina, Indiana.
- 7:03Speaker 2: Don't care.
- 7:04Speaker 4: Just some of the states.
- 7:04Speaker 2: Running every toll. I'm so over the tolls. Yeah, running
- 7:08Speaker 2: those tolls.
- 7:09Speaker 4: Well, who gets you?
- 7:09Speaker 2: Yeah, I know, but.
- 7:13Speaker 2: I'm so tired of the tollway. I'm so mad about
- 7:16Speaker 2: it because, you know, we read that big story about
- 7:18Speaker 2: how it was never supposed to be this long.
- 7:21Speaker 1: Right.
- 7:21Speaker 2: Like we were supposed to do the tollway, at least
- 7:23Speaker 2: the North Dallas tollway, the one we're on.
- 7:25Speaker 4: That's the tollway to me.
- 7:26Speaker 2: To me, that is the tollway. Yeah. Now you can't
- 7:29Speaker 2: even get anywhere without taking a tollway.
- 7:31Speaker 3: Right.
- 7:31Speaker 2: But originally this was supposed to be made. We were
- 7:33Speaker 2: supposed to pay off the debt and we were going
- 7:34Speaker 2: to move on. It was going to be free.
- 7:35Speaker 4: It was done.
- 7:36Speaker 2: It was done. Well, they took away the toll boost,
- 7:38Speaker 2: and now these still charge us.
- 7:39Speaker 6: Right.
- 7:40Speaker 2: So what's the problem there?
- 7:41Speaker 4: Yeah, it feels like a scam.
- 7:42Speaker 2: I want answers, tollway and TTA.
- 7:45Speaker 4: While the toll rates are set by local tollway authorities
- 7:48Speaker 4: in those states, you won't have to update your account
- 7:50Speaker 4: info or opt in to use those tolls on your
- 7:53Speaker 4: current toll tag sticker. But they're going to add more
- 7:56Speaker 4: states into 2028. So there you go. That's great. Just
- 7:59Speaker 4: run them if you want, Billy.
- 8:00Speaker 2: Yeah, I will.
- 8:01Speaker 4: Guys, McDonald's is testing a new system that will show
- 8:05Speaker 4: ads on their digital menu boards. So you would see
- 8:08Speaker 4: these ads after you place your order while you're kind
- 8:10Speaker 4: of waiting to drive forward.
- 8:12Speaker 2: Are you serious?
- 8:13Speaker 4: Yeah, they're testing it out. But McDonald's says this test
- 8:16Speaker 4: is meant to show customers content they may find helpful, relevant,
- 8:20Speaker 4: or interesting.
- 8:21Speaker 2: Nice spin, McDonald's.
- 8:23Speaker 3: Right.
- 8:23Speaker 2: Can I just be fat in the drive-thru and leave
- 8:25Speaker 2: me alone?
- 8:25Speaker 3: No.
- 8:26Speaker 2: You know what I mean?
- 8:26Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 8:26Speaker 4: Now you got to.
- 8:27Speaker 2: See a commercial. Now I got to see a commercial
- 8:29Speaker 2: to get my food.
- 8:29Speaker 4: Too many screens everywhere all the time.
- 8:33Speaker 2: Now I got to watch an ad. Do I have
- 8:35Speaker 2: to click to that I saw it?
- 8:37Speaker 4: Or look at it and then it'll open something up
- 8:40Speaker 4: or scan.
- 8:40Speaker 5: The QR code.
- 8:41Speaker 2: Skip ad to get my crispy Diet Coke.
- 8:43Speaker 4: Oh, that's frustrating. Yeah. Guys, former Home Improvement star Jonathan
- 8:48Speaker 4: Taylor Thomas was arrested during a traffic stop in California yesterday.
- 8:52Speaker 4: So I guess he was the passenger in this car
- 8:55Speaker 4: that was being pulled over after it was stopped at
- 8:57Speaker 4: a green light. Police started a DUI investigation. They say
- 9:03Speaker 4: JTT ignored their instructions and got out of the car
- 9:06Speaker 4: repeatedly approaching them. And when they tried to detain him,
- 9:09Speaker 4: he reportedly kicked a deputy in the stomach. He was
- 9:13Speaker 4: then arrested and released 34 hours later. But I don't
- 9:16Speaker 4: understand why all these former home improvement men have criminal records.
- 9:20Speaker 2: Wait, so which one was he again?
- 9:22Speaker 4: This was Jonathan Taylor Thomas.
- 9:23Speaker 2: Oh, this was the young kid with the bowl cut? Yeah,
- 9:26Speaker 2: the middle one. Oh, yes. He was like.
- 9:29Speaker 4: The heartthrob on the cover of all the magazines.
- 9:32Speaker 2: But he's a child star.
- 9:34Speaker 1: Yes.
- 9:34Speaker 2: Every child star.
- 9:35Speaker 4: I mean, technically, you know, Zachary Ty Bryan was, too.
- 9:37Speaker 4: He was on the show. He's in jail right now.
- 9:39Speaker 2: Well, that's what I'm saying. Yeah. Yeah, that's why.
- 9:42Speaker 4: But Tim Allen also was in jail, you know, and
- 9:44Speaker 4: dealt with legal stuff. Yeah. So it's like all of
- 9:47Speaker 4: the men on the, except for maybe the little brother.
- 9:48Speaker 4: Did he have issues?
- 9:49Speaker 2: No, he didn't have issues. Yeah, he did.
- 9:51Speaker 4: I think he did.
- 9:52Speaker 2: Yeah, he had an issue.
- 9:52Speaker 4: I can't remember his name.
- 9:53Speaker 2: I can't remember, but if he doesn't, he will.
- 9:56Speaker 3: Oh.
- 9:57Speaker 4: Yeah, I used to love that show, though.
- 9:58Speaker 2: I did, too.
- 9:58Speaker 4: Yeah, it was.
- 10:00Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 10:00Speaker 4: JTT on the cover of Bop magazine.
- 10:02Speaker 3: Bop.
- 10:03Speaker 4: Tiger Beat.
- 10:04Speaker 2: Granny.
- 10:05Speaker 4: I know.
- 10:06Speaker 2: Tiger Beat. Let me tell you about Tiger Beat, kids.
- 10:09Speaker 4: The ladies know.
- 10:10Speaker 2: Oh, I know. I know Tiger Beat. I had a couple.
- 10:13Speaker 2: I mean, what?
- 10:13Speaker 3: Huh? God.
- 10:14Speaker 2: Okay.
- 10:16Speaker 4: Candace Lopez, those are your Texas top stories.
- 10:18Speaker 2: First caller of the day on Mix 102.9. Let's hook
- 10:21Speaker 2: you up. It's Bailey the Kid, Candace Lopez, producer Pooh.
- 10:24Speaker 2: What's your name?
- 10:24Speaker 8: Yvette.
- 10:25Speaker 2: Yvette. Guess what? You're caller number one, Yvette. There you go.
- 10:30Speaker 2: Where are you from?
- 10:30Speaker 9: Dallas.
- 10:31Speaker 2: Well, congratulations, Yvette.
- 10:33Speaker 10: Thank you so much.
- 10:34Speaker 2: You're welcome. What are you doing right now?
- 10:36Speaker 7: Heading to work.
- 10:37Speaker 2: What do you do?
- 10:38Speaker 9: I am administrative at DISD.
- 10:40Speaker 2: Oh, there we go. Okay, so could you change my
- 10:43Speaker 2: grades if I was in school and I paid you
- 10:45Speaker 2: a little bit, some on the side?
- 10:48Speaker 9: No, couldn't do that.
- 10:49Speaker 2: Okay, see, that was a test. I was just testing
- 10:52Speaker 2: you to make sure you were good. Well, thank you, Yvette.
- 10:55Speaker 2: We appreciate you. Thank you so much for listening. I'm
- 10:58Speaker 2: going to get you this four-pack of passes to Cutting Edge, okay?
- 11:00Speaker 8: Thank you.
- 11:01Speaker 4: I love your show.
- 11:02Speaker 2: I love you more. Don't work too hard today.
- 11:04Speaker 7: I'll try not to.
- 11:06Speaker 2: Good. Real or fake news, are you ready? All right.
- 11:09Speaker 2: We got three headlines. You got to tell me which
- 11:11Speaker 2: one is fake, and the news gets more insane by
- 11:14Speaker 2: the day.
- 11:14Speaker 9: For sure.
- 11:15Speaker 2: So sometimes I laugh at it. Now it's getting to
- 11:18Speaker 2: the point where I'm like, I don't know if this
- 11:19Speaker 2: is funny.
- 11:19Speaker 4: Right?
- 11:20Speaker 2: But either way, this is one of my favorite things
- 11:22Speaker 2: to do. So real or fake news, headline number one.
- 11:24Speaker 2: A drunk woman drank toilet water to try to alter
- 11:28Speaker 2: her breathalyzer results.
- 11:31Speaker 4: Oh, my God.
- 11:33Speaker 2: A drunk woman drank toilet water to try and alter
- 11:35Speaker 2: her breathalyzer results. Oh, man. That is headline number one.
- 11:39Speaker 2: Headline number two. Driver calls police on vehicle following him,
- 11:43Speaker 2: learns it's an unmarked cop car.
- 11:45Speaker 4: Wait, what?
- 11:46Speaker 2: Driver calls the police on a vehicle following him, learns
- 11:50Speaker 2: it's an unmarked cop car.
- 11:51Speaker 3: Okay.
- 11:52Speaker 2: That is headline number two. Headline number three. 91-year-old woman
- 11:56Speaker 2: in India hit with flying kick by monkey. 91-year-old woman
- 12:03Speaker 2: in India hit with flying kick by monkey. Three headlines
- 12:08Speaker 2: right there. Kind of tough today. Yeah. Three headlines. You
- 12:11Speaker 2: got to tell me which one do you think is
- 12:12Speaker 2: the fake story? Candice, we kick it off with you.
- 12:15Speaker 2: Ladies first. You can pick first or you could pass
- 12:18Speaker 2: to Candice. La Poo Poo, a.k.a. Clarence.
- 12:21Speaker 4: Yeah, I think I passed it to La Poo Poo yesterday.
- 12:23Speaker 4: So lock me in for that first story today, the
- 12:25Speaker 4: toilet water story.
- 12:26Speaker 2: Did you win yesterday or did Candace?
- 12:28Speaker 4: I think I did.
- 12:28Speaker 2: Yeah, she won.
- 12:29Speaker 11: She won.
- 12:30Speaker 2: See, even if you give it to him, you still win.
- 12:31Speaker 3: No.
- 12:32Speaker 4: No, I got lucky.
- 12:33Speaker 2: You want to lock in toilet water story.
- 12:35Speaker 4: Yep, lock it in.
- 12:36Speaker 2: Let's lock it in.
- 12:37Speaker 4: Thank you.
- 12:38Speaker 2: All right, Producer Poo, he was on a streak a
- 12:41Speaker 2: couple weeks ago. Yeah, I was. Four times in a row.
- 12:44Speaker 2: I don't know if he was on drugs.
- 12:46Speaker 6: Oh!
- 12:47Speaker 2: Or something like performance drugs.
- 12:49Speaker 4: Enhancing.
- 12:49Speaker 1: Yes.
- 12:50Speaker 2: Enhancing. He was on some kind of crazy poo peptide. Yeah.
- 12:54Speaker 2: Which one do you think is the fake story producer poo?
- 12:58Speaker 2: I'm going to go with that last story.
- 12:59Speaker 6: A 91-year-old hit with a flying kick from a monk.
- 13:02Speaker 3: Okay.
- 13:03Speaker 2: You want to lock that in? Yeah, lock it in.
- 13:05Speaker 2: All right, let's lock it in. And the winner today is.
- 13:08Speaker 6: Me!
- 13:08Speaker 2: Me! I had a feeling I was going to get
- 13:17Speaker 2: y'all today.
- 13:18Speaker 3: You did?
- 13:19Speaker 2: Yeah. So the fake story was driver calls police on
- 13:21Speaker 2: a vehicle following him, learns it's an unmarked cop car.
- 13:24Speaker 2: My method today was making it sound less crazy.
- 13:27Speaker 3: Right.
- 13:28Speaker 2: Yeah. I'm like, that's a less crazy story, so Candace
- 13:31Speaker 2: is going to pick that one.
- 13:32Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 13:32Speaker 2: You didn't, but you... Or you know what I mean.
- 13:35Speaker 5: Right.
- 13:36Speaker 1: No.
- 13:36Speaker 4: Yeah, you change your method up. That's how you get us.
- 13:38Speaker 2: I try to change my method. Either way, the real
- 13:40Speaker 2: stories are kind of bizarre. That's for sure. You want
- 13:43Speaker 2: to go with the 91-year-old woman?
- 13:45Speaker 4: Yeah, tell us about the monkey kick.
- 13:46Speaker 2: Yeah, she got hit with a flying kick by a monkey.
- 13:50Speaker 2: 91-year-old woman in India. Oh, no.
- 13:52Speaker 3: What?
- 13:52Speaker 2: I didn't see this. She passed away from it?
- 13:55Speaker 3: Oh!
- 13:56Speaker 4: Oh, I'm bad.
- 13:57Speaker 2: Are you serious? My bad. See, now I feel bad. Oh, no.
- 14:02Speaker 4: Well, tell us now. Why did he kick her? What happened?
- 14:05Speaker 2: Is there a good reason? 91-year-old woman in India has
- 14:08Speaker 2: passed away after a monkey suddenly jumped out of her... Oh,
- 14:12Speaker 2: right outside of her home, out of a tree, knocking
- 14:14Speaker 2: her backward.
- 14:16Speaker 3: Oh.
- 14:16Speaker 2: Yeah, that's not good. See, I don't usually do stories
- 14:19Speaker 2: that end like that.
- 14:19Speaker 3: No.
- 14:20Speaker 2: But I didn't read the whole thing because my ADD
- 14:22Speaker 2: kicked in. And I was like, this story, this is funny.
- 14:26Speaker 5: Right.
- 14:26Speaker 2: Not so funny now. Grandma. Dang, man. That's sad.
- 14:30Speaker 4: Do you want to skip it and just tell us
- 14:32Speaker 4: the other one?
- 14:34Speaker 2: I mean, Pooh thinks it's hysterical, apparently. It's hard for
- 14:37Speaker 2: me to hold it in my lap because I'm looking
- 14:38Speaker 2: at you. I didn't do anything. You make me laugh.
- 14:40Speaker 2: I'm feeling bad. Either way, it's on security camera.
- 14:43Speaker 4: Oh, that's so sad.
- 14:46Speaker 2: And I don't know what this monkey's problem is.
- 14:48Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 14:48Speaker 2: He just, I mean, literally, I saw the video. He
- 14:52Speaker 2: just flies out of the tree.
- 14:53Speaker 4: And just, bam.
- 14:54Speaker 2: What? I don't know what she did that's the only
- 15:01Speaker 2: thing I can think of is sometimes they are known
- 15:04Speaker 2: to attack if they feel threatened she's definitely non-threatening at
- 15:08Speaker 2: 91 what a way to go out you live your
- 15:11Speaker 2: entire life you know 91 years on this earth and
- 15:14Speaker 2: then get taken out by a flying monkey kid grandma
- 15:19Speaker 2: got hit by a bazooka you know that's not cool
- 15:23Speaker 2: it's ridiculous either way the monkey's still on the loose So,
- 15:28Speaker 2: but that's why I don't go to certain countries that
- 15:31Speaker 2: have crazy monkeys. Yeah. Because they're insane. And then you'll
- 15:36Speaker 2: see tourists messing with them. And I'm like, you know
- 15:38Speaker 2: they can maul your eyes out, right? Like, why would
- 15:41Speaker 2: you mess with a monkey, a wild monkey?
- 15:43Speaker 1: Right.
- 15:43Speaker 2: And now they're in Florida, too. There's monkeys in Florida.
- 15:45Speaker 4: I heard about that.
- 15:46Speaker 2: Yep, loose monkeys from, like, one of the hurricanes we hit.
- 15:49Speaker 3: Oh, yeah.
- 15:50Speaker 2: The monkeys got loose, and now they're breeding, and now
- 15:52Speaker 2: they're all over the place in Florida. Huh. They're taking over.
- 15:55Speaker 4: No.
- 15:56Speaker 2: Yes, they are.
- 15:56Speaker 4: They're not taking over.
- 15:59Speaker 2: Okay, Candace, remember you said that. Mark the date.
- 16:02Speaker 3: All right.
- 16:02Speaker 2: All right, next story, because now I'm depressed. A drunk woman,
- 16:06Speaker 2: thank you. Now, this is more up my alley.
- 16:07Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 16:08Speaker 2: A drunk woman drank toilet water to try to alter
- 16:11Speaker 2: her breathalyzer results.
- 16:13Speaker 3: Oh, girl.
- 16:13Speaker 2: Yeah. Oh, girl is right. 43-year-old woman in Virginia named
- 16:18Speaker 2: Erin Hoops crashed her red Mini Cooper into a police cruiser.
- 16:25Speaker 2: She said, okay, and? Get out of my way. She
- 16:29Speaker 2: kept going because why would that stop her? So the
- 16:32Speaker 2: cop obviously turned on his lights because he just got
- 16:34Speaker 2: smashed by a Mini Cooper.
- 16:35Speaker 7: Right.
- 16:36Speaker 2: Pulls her over, smelled a strong odor of alcohol coming
- 16:39Speaker 2: from her car, hauled her off to jail. And now
- 16:41Speaker 2: she's like, I got to go to the bathroom. And
- 16:44Speaker 2: he's like, well, I mean, just wait. Let me figure
- 16:46Speaker 2: it out. Either way, she said she needed to use
- 16:48Speaker 2: the bathroom. So they allowed it as long as the
- 16:50Speaker 2: door was cracked open. They didn't want her drinking from
- 16:53Speaker 2: the sink or anything. So they were watching like the
- 16:56Speaker 2: angle on the sink. Yeah. Then she disappears and they
- 16:58Speaker 2: hear something. And she's got her whole damn head in
- 17:01Speaker 2: the toilet bowl. And she's drinking the toilet water. Oh, yeah.
- 17:08Speaker 2: Drinking the toilet water.
- 17:11Speaker 3: Oh.
- 17:12Speaker 2: Crazy part is it didn't even work. So she still
- 17:16Speaker 2: blew way over the legal limit.
- 17:20Speaker 4: Why would she think that would work?
- 17:21Speaker 2: I mean, when you're drunk... Okay, can I confess something?
- 17:25Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 17:25Speaker 2: I can't believe I'm going to say it. No, don't
- 17:27Speaker 2: do it.
- 17:27Speaker 4: I think I know what you're going to say.
- 17:29Speaker 2: So, one time, I wasn't driving, but I was in
- 17:32Speaker 2: the car.
- 17:32Speaker 3: Right. And.
- 17:34Speaker 2: Needless to say, I thought, yeah, no, well, I'm already there. Listen,
- 17:40Speaker 2: at this point in life, who cares? People have expected
- 17:42Speaker 2: worse for me. So I'm in the car, wasn't driving.
- 17:46Speaker 2: For whatever reason in my head, I thought I'm going
- 17:48Speaker 2: to go to jail because I'm drunk.
- 17:52Speaker 11: Yeah.
- 17:52Speaker 2: I don't know why in my head. I'm like, I
- 17:54Speaker 2: can't be drunk in this car.
- 17:55Speaker 9: Yeah.
- 17:56Speaker 2: Or I thought maybe what if the driver's drunk and
- 17:58Speaker 2: I have to drive? I can't do that.
- 18:00Speaker 3: Right.
- 18:01Speaker 2: For whatever reason, I thought in my head, I'm going
- 18:02Speaker 2: to go to jail. Yeah. Because I've been drinking, even
- 18:05Speaker 2: though I was completely fine and legal. So I saw
- 18:09Speaker 2: something online one time that if you suck on pennies,
- 18:15Speaker 2: you'll pass the breathalyzer test. Yeah.
- 18:18Speaker 1: Why?
- 18:18Speaker 2: Because of the copper or something? Right. Is that what
- 18:22Speaker 2: it is? That's what I thought.
- 18:23Speaker 4: Okay.
- 18:25Speaker 2: So I forgot who I was with, but I just
- 18:29Speaker 2: grabbed a handful of pennies out of their cup holder.
- 18:33Speaker 2: And I threw them all in my mouth. And just started.
- 18:38Speaker 4: No.
- 18:38Speaker 2: Tastes like a water hose. Oh, it tasted disgusting. Yeah.
- 18:44Speaker 2: The cop walks up to the window. He's like, what's
- 18:46Speaker 2: going on? And I'm sucking on pennies.
- 18:48Speaker 5: No.
- 18:49Speaker 2: And he's talking to the driver, and the driver's like, oh, nothing.
- 18:51Speaker 2: We're just going home, blah, blah, blah. He's like, okay,
- 18:54Speaker 2: you had anything to drink tonight? And my friend is like,
- 18:56Speaker 2: literally two beers, promise. Two beers. He's like, yeah, seems
- 19:00Speaker 2: like y'all are okay. And he walked off. Oh. So
- 19:04Speaker 2: I sucked on pennies for no reason. A whole handful
- 19:09Speaker 2: of pennies.
- 19:09Speaker 4: That's unreal.
- 19:10Speaker 2: In a cup holder. And I had to lift up
- 19:12Speaker 2: a Whataburger cup. To get the pennies, and they were
- 19:16Speaker 2: sticky pennies. How many hands do you think were on
- 19:19Speaker 2: those pennies? That's why I never died from COVID. I
- 19:24Speaker 2: was sucking on pennies. My immune system is so strong.
- 19:27Speaker 3: It is.
- 19:28Speaker 2: So strong. Try it, Pooh. I got some pennies here. Oh,
- 19:31Speaker 2: I got big news. I have big news right now.
- 19:33Speaker 2: It's Mix 102.9. Appeal it to Kid, Candace Lopez, Producer Pooh.
- 19:36Speaker 2: First of all, 7.30, we got Dirty Little Secret. You
- 19:39Speaker 2: will not want to miss this. I know a little
- 19:41Speaker 2: bit about it. I'm going to give you a little
- 19:42Speaker 2: teaser on what it's about. Okay.
- 19:45Speaker 4: Home Depot?
- 19:48Speaker 2: In the weirdest way. What?
- 19:49Speaker 4: What does that mean?
- 19:53Speaker 2: A very weird, dirty little secret. A woman is calling
- 19:56Speaker 2: in with a secret.
- 19:57Speaker 4: Construction?
- 19:59Speaker 2: No.
- 19:59Speaker 4: Home improvement?
- 20:01Speaker 2: Just listen. 730, okay? Okay. All right, Candace, I'm excited
- 20:04Speaker 2: because guess what tomorrow is? It is our corny dog walk.
- 20:07Speaker 3: Yay!
- 20:09Speaker 2: Our second annual Corny Dog Walk. And if you don't
- 20:12Speaker 2: know about it, last year we did this kind of
- 20:14Speaker 2: as a joke. It started off like, I'm going to
- 20:15Speaker 2: walk to the State Fair of Texas on the day
- 20:18Speaker 2: it kicks off. So fair kicks off tomorrow. Last year
- 20:21Speaker 2: when it started, I'm like, I don't even know if
- 20:22Speaker 2: I'm going to make it. Right. You know, so Pooh
- 20:24Speaker 2: walked almost nine miles yesterday.
- 20:26Speaker 1: He did good.
- 20:27Speaker 2: Almost made it. Candace was in a support vehicle.
- 20:30Speaker 3: Right.
- 20:30Speaker 2: She almost made it. You made it, kind of, sort of.
- 20:34Speaker 2: But you didn't have to walk. I made it to
- 20:35Speaker 2: the fair walking. Along the way, I gave away so
- 20:39Speaker 2: many tickets if you found me.
- 20:41Speaker 3: Right.
- 20:42Speaker 2: I met so many incredible people, and it was oddly
- 20:45Speaker 2: one of the best things I've ever done in my career.
- 20:47Speaker 4: Right.
- 20:48Speaker 2: It turned out to be one of the best days.
- 20:50Speaker 2: By the way, we're walking this in a corny dog suit.
- 20:53Speaker 4: Right, so that they can see you.
- 20:54Speaker 2: So that you could see us and you could find us.
- 20:56Speaker 2: It's Poo and I as two big corny dogs walking
- 20:59Speaker 2: to the fair.
- 21:01Speaker 4: Exactly.
- 21:01Speaker 2: Which, one of my favorite, and I started laughing last
- 21:04Speaker 2: night thinking about this because the suits that we did yesterday,
- 21:06Speaker 2: we had to order new ones because they were ruined.
- 21:08Speaker 3: Right.
- 21:09Speaker 2: I stepped on my stick and broke it off. It's okay. Yeah,
- 21:12Speaker 2: which I'm kind of glad I did because that stick
- 21:14Speaker 2: was in a very weird place.
- 21:15Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 21:16Speaker 2: You know?
- 21:16Speaker 4: It kind of made sense, but kind of didn't.
- 21:18Speaker 2: On the costume where the corny dog's stick is, it
- 21:21Speaker 2: looks like, especially if you're walking through a school zone,
- 21:23Speaker 2: you're like, what is this guy doing?
- 21:25Speaker 4: It was kind of like dragging on the floor and stuff.
- 21:28Speaker 2: Right. So I stepped on it, broke it off somewhere
- 21:30Speaker 2: around Mockingbird and Preston. Anyway, my favorite, I was thinking
- 21:34Speaker 2: about it yesterday. One of my favorite parts of last
- 21:37Speaker 2: year was we weren't even at Royal. We're leaving. By
- 21:41Speaker 2: the way, the station is at Spring Valley in the tollway. Right.
- 21:44Speaker 2: So we're walking a good 15 miles, you know, 14,
- 21:47Speaker 2: 15 miles to the fair, especially the way we take.
- 21:48Speaker 2: It's all out of the way.
- 21:49Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 21:50Speaker 2: Anyway, we're not even maybe three miles in. And Pooh
- 21:55Speaker 2: is like, bro, I got to stop at CVS. And
- 22:01Speaker 2: I go, why? And I'm on Instagram. I'm like live.
- 22:04Speaker 2: And he's like, man, don't talk about it on Instagram.
- 22:07Speaker 2: And I was like, Pooh, you know better. Everything that
- 22:11Speaker 2: happens to us, we're talking about it on the radio.
- 22:14Speaker 2: We're talking about it on Instagram. He said, well, I
- 22:16Speaker 2: got to stop at CVS and get some Gold Bond.
- 22:19Speaker 2: I think I got the Rosado. Ah! So just imagine this.
- 22:26Speaker 2: And I start immediately cracking up. Yeah. I'm like, what?
- 22:29Speaker 2: Millie ain't sympathetic at all. He's like, this corny dog
- 22:32Speaker 2: outfit is kind of chafing me.
- 22:33Speaker 6: Yes.
- 22:34Speaker 2: So you have two corny dogs walking into CVS.
- 22:38Speaker 4: It was a scene for sure.
- 22:39Speaker 2: It was a scene. And as we walk in, I'll
- 22:42Speaker 2: never forget. He's like, come on, keep it chill. And
- 22:44Speaker 2: I was like, no, I will. As soon as we
- 22:45Speaker 2: walk in, the lady at the front desk was like, oh,
- 22:49Speaker 2: she sees two corny dog walking. walk in and she's
- 22:51Speaker 2: like what's going on i'm like we need some gold
- 22:53Speaker 2: bond because this corny dog is chafing he she starts
- 22:59Speaker 2: cracking she comes around the counter and takes us to
- 23:01Speaker 2: the gold bond and we start well either way you
- 23:04Speaker 2: have to go to the bathroom and i'll let you
- 23:06Speaker 2: figure out.
- 23:06Speaker 6: The rest it was like how bad is it rubbing
- 23:09Speaker 6: i was like oh it's so loud so.
- 23:13Speaker 2: I know Either way, I can't wait tomorrow, so hopefully
- 23:16Speaker 2: I'll get to meet you. Corny Dog Walk starts at
- 23:18Speaker 2: 10 a.m. We kick it off here from the station.
- 23:20Speaker 2: By the way, I think we're going to be on
- 23:21Speaker 2: the news tomorrow.
- 23:22Speaker 4: Yeah, the 10 from Fox 4. They're going to be
- 23:25Speaker 4: Zooming us.
- 23:25Speaker 2: Which I love the 10, so thank you to Steve
- 23:27Speaker 2: Noviello and Paige. They're awesome. Love them. We're going in
- 23:31Speaker 2: with them at 10. So if you're at the station
- 23:33Speaker 2: at 10, like last year, people were already at the station.
- 23:36Speaker 4: Yeah, because we thought we only had 100 tickets, remember?
- 23:39Speaker 2: Yeah, we ended up giving away way more. So the
- 23:42Speaker 2: big news that I have to say, so if you
- 23:43Speaker 2: show up somewhere along the walk, find us. I mean,
- 23:46Speaker 2: we'll give you tickets until we run out. The big
- 23:48Speaker 2: news I have to say is, you know, we created
- 23:50Speaker 2: the Corny Dog Walk shirt to benefit the State Fair
- 23:53Speaker 2: of Texas, which was, you know, something that we wanted
- 23:56Speaker 2: to do this year to give back because the State
- 23:57Speaker 2: Fair of Texas does so much for the community. We
- 24:01Speaker 2: wanted to sell these shirts. Thank you to Lone Star Print.
- 24:03Speaker 2: They're awesome. Art and Nancy. They're like, yeah, we'll print
- 24:05Speaker 2: up the shirts. And it's a funny design. And then,
- 24:08Speaker 2: you know, we'll get the proceeds to them. So we're like,
- 24:11Speaker 2: we just want to sell 200. I will say this.
- 24:14Speaker 2: Are you ready, Candace Lopez?
- 24:15Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 24:17Speaker 2: We have sold over 200 shirts at this point. Yes.
- 24:22Speaker 2: So a couple people we have to thank. I got
- 24:24Speaker 2: to thank Dr. Chris, who is awesome. Thank you, Dr. Chris,
- 24:28Speaker 2: the Taylor Counseling Group. He bought so many shirts.
- 24:31Speaker 4: That's amazing.
- 24:32Speaker 2: And we're not going to sell out, I think, at
- 24:34Speaker 2: this point, because Aunt Nancy, we're like, we'll just keep
- 24:36Speaker 2: printing them up. So if you want to buy one,
- 24:38Speaker 2: so if you want to buy one at Mix1029FM in
- 24:39Speaker 2: our Instagram page, But thank you to Dr. Chris, because
- 24:43Speaker 2: this is so much money that's going to be going
- 24:45Speaker 2: to the fair now, and I'll get to present them
- 24:47Speaker 2: with a check tomorrow. Yay. Them, and you know who
- 24:50Speaker 2: else randomly I have to thank? Who? Who? Hilary Duff.
- 24:54Speaker 3: Hilary Duff? What?
- 24:54Speaker 2: A girl, Hilary?
- 24:55Speaker 4: Did she buy a shirt?
- 24:56Speaker 2: Hilary Duff bought a ton of shirts. Aw, Hilary, thank you.
- 24:59Speaker 2: Which is so awesome. Thank you, Hilary. Hit the horn
- 25:02Speaker 2: for Hilary.
- 25:03Speaker 3: Hi.
- 25:04Speaker 2: She's the best.
- 25:05Speaker 6: Yeah, she is.
- 25:05Speaker 2: Thank you to Hilary Duff, who bought, like, I think
- 25:07Speaker 2: she bought, like, 50 shirts.
- 25:08Speaker 3: That's amazing.
- 25:09Speaker 2: And she's like, yeah, just give them out. She's, like,
- 25:11Speaker 2: happy that we're playing her song, which we love, Hilary.
- 25:15Speaker 2: But isn't that great?
- 25:15Speaker 4: That's awesome.
- 25:16Speaker 2: I love that. So, yeah, it made me really happy.
- 25:18Speaker 2: Thank you. Get the shirts at Mix1029FM on Instagram, at Mix1029FM.
- 25:23Speaker 2: Corny Dog Walk starts tomorrow. 10 a.m. We kick it off.
- 25:28Speaker 2: So find us and get some and look for two big,
- 25:31Speaker 2: stupid-looking corny dogs. It's Texas Top Stories on the 10s
- 25:35Speaker 2: with Billy the Kid.
- 25:37Speaker 3: In the morning. Only on the new Mix 102.9.
- 25:40Speaker 2: Check us out on that iHeartRadio app. About to give
- 25:42Speaker 2: away Season Pass. You're shot to win that. State Fair, Texas. So, yeah,
- 25:46Speaker 2: we'll do it next. Candace Lopez, what is going on?
- 25:48Speaker 4: Well, the city of Prosper postponed a vote on zoning
- 25:51Speaker 4: for a multi-billion dollar mini Venice. So if you haven't
- 25:54Speaker 4: heard about this, the idea is for a 143 acre
- 25:58Speaker 4: Italian inspired village. It would be around a 15 acre lagoon.
- 26:02Speaker 4: We're talking thousands of residential units. It would be called
- 26:05Speaker 4: the Marco. The proposed location is at the corner of
- 26:09Speaker 4: the Dallas North Tollway and 380, but it's City leaders
- 26:12Speaker 4: say they want to make some tweaks to these plans.
- 26:14Speaker 4: The developer says the changes they're asking for don't really
- 26:17Speaker 4: change the plans of the project substantially. But this project
- 26:21Speaker 4: is wild.
- 26:22Speaker 2: Oh, it says it's going to be one of the
- 26:24Speaker 2: biggest real estate projects in the history of Texas.
- 26:27Speaker 4: That's amazing. I mean, 4,400 residential units. We're talking apartments,
- 26:31Speaker 4: senior living units, condos, villas, townhomes.
- 26:34Speaker 2: On water?
- 26:35Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 26:35Speaker 2: I mean, literally, they're going to build a Venice at
- 26:38Speaker 2: 380 in the tollway. That's so crazy.
- 26:41Speaker 4: I can't even picture this. I'm looking for, like, renderings
- 26:43Speaker 4: and some of the graphics. Oh, you haven't seen it? Well,
- 26:45Speaker 4: I did this morning. It looks incredible.
- 26:48Speaker 2: Yeah. The guy who's doing it, I mean, you want
- 26:50Speaker 2: to talk about a baller. It's like one dude who's, like,
- 26:52Speaker 2: bought the land and is doing it.
- 26:53Speaker 4: He's created a few of these style properties. I think
- 26:56Speaker 4: there's one in McKinney. They're working on one down in Galveston.
- 26:59Speaker 4: But apartment rental rates would start at $ 2, 500 and condos
- 27:03Speaker 4: could sell up to over $ 10 million. Hotels, offices. I mean,
- 27:07Speaker 4: it's a crazy project, but I'll definitely keep you posted. Guys,
- 27:11Speaker 4: cities across the country will declare tomorrow Dolly Parton Day.
- 27:16Speaker 4: Tomorrow is September 25th or 925. It's going to be
- 27:21Speaker 4: really cute. I know California has officially created an annual
- 27:24Speaker 4: celebration to honor her. There's going to be pink lights
- 27:27Speaker 4: and fundraisers happening in Nashville and then a Dolly themed
- 27:30Speaker 4: parade through New Orleans. I know the truck yard in
- 27:34Speaker 4: Dallas here is having a big Dolly Parton day tomorrow.
- 27:36Speaker 2: Good.
- 27:37Speaker 4: And there'll be some other things popping up, but that's fun.
- 27:39Speaker 3: 925.
- 27:39Speaker 4: Oh, I love that.
- 27:41Speaker 2: I love that. Actually, I love the truck yard, too,
- 27:43Speaker 2: so that's cool.
- 27:43Speaker 4: Yeah, for sure. And then real quick, guys, Taylor Swift
- 27:45Speaker 4: made a huge announcement yesterday. The Life of a Showgirl,
- 27:49Speaker 4: the encore album with four new songs. It's coming tomorrow
- 27:53Speaker 4: along with her new song, Patient Zero, which she literally
- 27:56Speaker 4: 11 minutes ago announced online. She's going to premiere the
- 27:59Speaker 4: video or short film for Patient Zero at the VMAs
- 28:03Speaker 4: this Sunday. This looks incredible. It's starring Colin Farrell and
- 28:07Speaker 4: Dakota Johnson. Taylor's starring in it as well. You got
- 28:11Speaker 4: a real big picture of that rock on her hand
- 28:13Speaker 4: in this video. But, yeah, it looks incredible.
- 28:17Speaker 2: Yeah, you want to talk about, oh, music videos aren't
- 28:19Speaker 2: relevant anymore. They are if she makes them. Yeah, they are.
- 28:21Speaker 4: Oh, yeah, I mean, this might be like, this is
- 28:23Speaker 4: like a full feature film looking trailer that she just dropped.
- 28:26Speaker 2: See, I love that.
- 28:27Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 28:27Speaker 2: She does things so big, and sometimes she has to
- 28:30Speaker 2: pay for it out of her own budget, out of
- 28:31Speaker 2: her own money, and good for her.
- 28:33Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, it's going to be exciting Sunday night on
- 28:35Speaker 4: the VMAs. I'm Candace Lopez. Those are your Texas Top
- 28:37Speaker 4: Stories on.
- 28:39Speaker 2: I know it's not time for this, but I'm going
- 28:40Speaker 2: to go ahead and do it right now. Uh-oh. I'm
- 28:43Speaker 2: going to tease you for Candice Court coming up. It's
- 28:45Speaker 2: Mix 102.9, Ability Kid, Candice Lopez. Candice Court today poos
- 28:49Speaker 2: on Candice Court.
- 28:50Speaker 3: Again?
- 28:51Speaker 2: Again?
- 28:52Speaker 3: Why?
- 28:53Speaker 2: I'm not mad at him. I don't know if he
- 28:55Speaker 2: did anything wrong, but somebody mentioned something to me about
- 28:57Speaker 2: what he did yesterday. Or the other day, because we
- 29:01Speaker 2: didn't even know this, but he went to lunch with
- 29:04Speaker 2: a boss, one of the big bosses in our company. Oh, yeah.
- 29:08Speaker 4: Without us?
- 29:09Speaker 2: Exactly. But I'm not mad. I'm not upset. I'm not upset.
- 29:12Speaker 2: But somebody mentioned something to me. They're like, is this normal?
- 29:16Speaker 2: So Pooh is going to be on Candace Court again.
- 29:18Speaker 2: He's a regular. It's not that bad. He is a regular.
- 29:21Speaker 2: We're about to do the banger. We got Dirty Little
- 29:23Speaker 2: Secret coming up. I was just giving you a heads
- 29:24Speaker 2: up so you can know.
- 29:25Speaker 4: I had no idea.
- 29:26Speaker 2: But I'm going to need your help listening on whether
- 29:28Speaker 2: what he did was right or wrong. So Candace Court
- 29:31Speaker 2: will do that. That's on the way. Candace, can we
- 29:33Speaker 2: talk about something depressing?
- 29:35Speaker 3: No.
- 29:35Speaker 2: Oh, too bad. If you're in a relationship. this relationship
- 29:40Speaker 2: expert said, if you hear this phrase or these phrases,
- 29:43Speaker 2: your relationship is over.
- 29:45Speaker 7: Oh, boy.
- 29:45Speaker 2: So let's see if I've ever heard any of these
- 29:47Speaker 2: phrases in my relationships.
- 29:49Speaker 3: Okay.
- 29:50Speaker 2: They're all over. Oh. I know I've probably heard a few.
- 29:53Speaker 3: Okay.
- 29:54Speaker 2: So maybe you're in a relationship and you're like, well,
- 29:56Speaker 2: let me hear this.
- 29:57Speaker 3: I don't know. What is it?
- 29:59Speaker 2: Why do you make such a big deal out of everything?
- 30:01Speaker 2: Heard it.
- 30:02Speaker 3: Oh.
- 30:02Speaker 2: Yep. So if you hear that, psychologists are saying, not
- 30:06Speaker 2: a good sign of things to come. Right. Or if
- 30:09Speaker 2: you hear, I didn't ask for your opinion.
- 30:13Speaker 3: Oh. Oh, no.
- 30:14Speaker 4: Exit that relationship immediately.
- 30:15Speaker 2: That's awful. Who says that? I've never heard that. Yeah,
- 30:17Speaker 2: I've never heard that. That would be over if I
- 30:19Speaker 2: heard that.
- 30:19Speaker 4: For sure.
- 30:20Speaker 2: Or if I said that, oh.
- 30:22Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 30:23Speaker 2: Well, listen, this is you. It's not me.
- 30:26Speaker 3: Oh.
- 30:27Speaker 1: Okay.
- 30:28Speaker 2: This one I've heard. Fine, then just do whatever you want. Yep,
- 30:32Speaker 2: I've heard that several times. Okay. Several times. Several?
- 30:37Speaker 3: Yes.
- 30:37Speaker 2: Okay.
- 30:38Speaker 4: And it was over immediately or later?
- 30:40Speaker 6: Yeah, probably a month or two after.
- 30:42Speaker 2: What about this one? You know I love a good list.
- 30:45Speaker 2: I'm just too busy. Oh, for the relationship? I'm just
- 30:48Speaker 2: too busy. Yeah, if you're dating and somebody says, I'm
- 30:50Speaker 2: just too busy, experts are saying, listen, You can make
- 30:54Speaker 2: time for the people you want.
- 30:56Speaker 4: Go be busy.
- 30:56Speaker 2: Go be busy then. We're just different. I feel smothered. Okay.
- 31:05Speaker 2: I just need a little space. Oh, I've heard that one.
- 31:07Speaker 2: There it is. That was my last one. There it is.
- 31:11Speaker 3: Space.
- 31:12Speaker 2: She needs outer space. Yeah. That was the last thing
- 31:16Speaker 2: Pooh heard in his relationship. Then I got a text.
- 31:20Speaker 2: What did the text say again? Wait, didn't the text
- 31:23Speaker 2: say I need space?
- 31:24Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 31:25Speaker 2: Or it said something else. It said something else weird.
- 31:27Speaker 6: No, she verbally told me she needed space, but the
- 31:29Speaker 6: text was like, Listen, you're a good guy, but.
- 31:34Speaker 2: Oh.
- 31:34Speaker 4: But you're smothering me.
- 31:36Speaker 3: No.
- 31:38Speaker 2: You're a good guy, but I just need to work
- 31:40Speaker 2: on me right now. Oh. I need time to work
- 31:43Speaker 2: on me. Ladies, when you say that, is it over? Yeah.
- 31:46Speaker 2: It is.
- 31:47Speaker 4: It's over.
- 31:49Speaker 3: It is.
- 31:49Speaker 2: I can't understand. Yeah. Get it off your chest.
- 31:54Speaker 1: It's Dirty Little Secret with Billy the Kid in the
- 31:56Speaker 1: Morning on Mix 102.9.
- 31:58Speaker 4: Brought to you by Mint Dentistry.
- 32:00Speaker 2: We got our season pass to the State Fair of
- 32:02Speaker 2: Texas up for grabs. We're doing it on the 10s
- 32:04Speaker 2: pretty much every hour all day, so make sure you listen.
- 32:06Speaker 2: Get that iHeartRadio app ready. Because that's a big deal.
- 32:09Speaker 2: State Fair kicks off tomorrow. Yay! So excited. Plus, we
- 32:13Speaker 2: got our corny dog walk. I'm getting my legs ready.
- 32:15Speaker 4: Good.
- 32:16Speaker 2: Walking to the fair tomorrow. It's 14 miles.
- 32:18Speaker 4: No joke.
- 32:19Speaker 2: No joke. Who made it nine? We're going to see
- 32:21Speaker 2: if he makes it tomorrow all the way, but we
- 32:22Speaker 2: kick it off at 10. I'm really excited for it because...
- 32:25Speaker 2: You just find us along the way, and we give
- 32:27Speaker 2: you tickets. So look for two big corny dogs walking
- 32:31Speaker 2: around Dallas. We're hard to miss. Cutting through neighborhoods.
- 32:35Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 32:36Speaker 2: No, we don't really cut through neighborhoods. Last year, I
- 32:38Speaker 2: pretty much took Preston all the way down.
- 32:40Speaker 1: Right.
- 32:41Speaker 4: We stopped at the Pumpkin Patch, and we had some
- 32:44Speaker 4: fun at the Juice Bar.
- 32:45Speaker 2: Well, I love meeting people, too, but tomorrow's going to
- 32:47Speaker 2: be a little bit warmer than last year, so I'm
- 32:49Speaker 2: going to be a hot dog.
- 32:50Speaker 4: Yeah, but the humidity is going to be gone, so
- 32:51Speaker 4: that'll help.
- 32:52Speaker 2: Oh, good. Candace, then put on a corny dog outfit
- 32:55Speaker 2: and come with us.
- 32:56Speaker 4: Well, buy me one.
- 32:56Speaker 2: I will. I will. Absolutely.
- 32:59Speaker 4: I'll be there.
- 32:59Speaker 2: You're in our corny support vehicle.
- 33:02Speaker 4: Yeah, I'll wear my T-shirt.
- 33:03Speaker 2: Which is a very important job.
- 33:05Speaker 4: Corny support.
- 33:06Speaker 2: Corny support. So either way, find us tomorrow and follow
- 33:10Speaker 2: along to either way. It's ridiculous. Even if you don't
- 33:12Speaker 2: find us, just follow us on Instagram. You can see
- 33:15Speaker 2: the mess. If you've got a secret, 833-787-1029 to confess
- 33:20Speaker 2: whatever you got going on in your mind anytime. And
- 33:23Speaker 2: you've got something. What kind of confession are we working
- 33:25Speaker 2: with today? What's going on?
- 33:27Speaker 5: Yeah, I'm going to admit something that I.
- 33:29Speaker 9: Literally I've never told anybody.
- 33:31Speaker 5: Because I just I know you guys are going to
- 33:33Speaker 5: make fun of me.
- 33:34Speaker 9: I just know I'm 30 for some reason. The older
- 33:39Speaker 9: I get, the more I've developed this really specific type.
- 33:45Speaker 9: And I call them Home Depot Dads. Um, yeah, I mean,
- 33:52Speaker 9: you know exactly what I'm talking about. It's older guys,
- 33:54Speaker 9: like a little rough around the edges, maybe slightly frumpy,
- 33:56Speaker 9: like dad bod faded jeans. Like I like the beat
- 33:59Speaker 9: up work boots, the kind of, it's the kind of
- 34:01Speaker 9: guy you see walking around home Depot at like eight
- 34:03Speaker 9: 30 Saturday.
- 34:04Speaker 2: Okay.
- 34:05Speaker 10: And I don't, yeah, I don't know why I find
- 34:08Speaker 10: it so hot.
- 34:09Speaker 2: Hold on.
- 34:09Speaker 9: Hold on.
- 34:10Speaker 2: You find, okay. So this is your, and you sound young.
- 34:13Speaker 2: You're 30, you said.
- 34:14Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 34:15Speaker 2: So you're into what you call Home Depot dads, which.
- 34:19Speaker 3: Yeah, I don't.
- 34:20Speaker 9: It makes no sense. Like, I get it. It makes
- 34:22Speaker 9: no sense.
- 34:22Speaker 10: Like, I'm young. Like, I'm cute.
- 34:24Speaker 9: Like, I take care of myself.
- 34:25Speaker 10: Like, if you saw me, you probably like you wouldn't guess.
- 34:28Speaker 9: Like, that's my thing. But like, I don't have some
- 34:31Speaker 9: weird dad trauma. Just before you ask, like. My dad's
- 34:35Speaker 9: in pretty good shape. Like he just, I don't know.
- 34:37Speaker 9: He barely knows how to hang a picture on the wall.
- 34:39Speaker 9: So it's like, I have no idea.
- 34:41Speaker 2: That's funny because that's the first thing I was going
- 34:42Speaker 2: to ask. I was like, do you have some kind
- 34:44Speaker 2: of like weird thing with your dad where you like,
- 34:46Speaker 2: you know, I don't know. Daddy issues. So you like frumpy, older,
- 34:50Speaker 2: frumpy guys.
- 34:51Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 34:52Speaker 5: I'm kind of dating one right now.
- 34:54Speaker 9: We've gone out a few times. Like he's 54. just
- 35:02Speaker 9: a regular dude with a dad bod like he's just
- 35:04Speaker 9: got work boots old jeans.
- 35:07Speaker 11: I don't know my mind is blown right now I
- 35:10Speaker 11: just don't I didn't expect it okay so you're he's
- 35:14Speaker 11: 54 you're 30 yeah that's a pretty big age gap
- 35:18Speaker 11: I know.
- 35:19Speaker 10: I'm just really attracted to him.
- 35:20Speaker 9: It's ridiculous. And I think, I don't know, he's confused
- 35:26Speaker 9: why I'm into him. He's even made comments like, you
- 35:28Speaker 9: know you could date somebody your own age, right?
- 35:33Speaker 10: We've been dating just for a little while.
- 35:36Speaker 9: I haven't brought him in around any of my friends
- 35:38Speaker 9: or family because I already know they're going to be like,
- 35:40Speaker 9: this is your boyfriend? And I don't know.
- 35:43Speaker 10: I don't know where it's going.
- 35:44Speaker 9: I definitely haven't told him that he basically checks every
- 35:47Speaker 9: box in my extremely embarrassing Home Depot dad fantasy. But
- 35:51Speaker 9: this is who I am now.
- 35:53Speaker 4: I can't believe this.
- 35:53Speaker 9: I don't know what it is.
- 35:54Speaker 10: I'm just into it.
- 35:55Speaker 4: I'm just into it.
- 35:56Speaker 2: My Home Depot dad fantasy.
- 35:59Speaker 4: It could be worse.
- 36:00Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 36:01Speaker 4: Could it could be a lot worse.
- 36:03Speaker 2: I'm not saying it's bad i'm just saying like people
- 36:05Speaker 2: are into what they're into it doesn't hey i'm not
- 36:07Speaker 2: one to judge i think martha stewart's incredibly attractive yeah
- 36:11Speaker 2: she's 84 yeah you.
- 36:13Speaker 4: Like martha stewart moms.
- 36:14Speaker 2: I like yeah am i is that my no but
- 36:16Speaker 2: i don't see that.
- 36:17Speaker 4: You don't though i don't like a bunch.
- 36:18Speaker 2: Of just older women who happen to be great.
- 36:20Speaker 4: Homemakers just martha.
- 36:22Speaker 2: Just martha and i don't know what it's her it's
- 36:25Speaker 2: not my type though so but i do get it
- 36:27Speaker 2: how when you do get new things that you, I
- 36:30Speaker 2: don't know, you start to change as a person. Now
- 36:32Speaker 2: I'm attracted to this.
- 36:33Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 36:34Speaker 2: It could be weirder.
- 36:35Speaker 4: It could be.
- 36:36Speaker 10: For sure.
- 36:37Speaker 3: I don't know.
- 36:37Speaker 2: Candace is acting like this is somewhat normal.
- 36:39Speaker 4: No, I'm just saying she could be, like, have a type,
- 36:42Speaker 4: the guys that are in jail. Like, you know, weird
- 36:44Speaker 4: stuff like that.
- 36:45Speaker 2: Yeah, it's just Home Depot dudes.
- 36:46Speaker 4: You've seen the TLC shows.
- 36:48Speaker 2: Yeah, but I.
- 36:48Speaker 4: My weird obsession.
- 36:49Speaker 2: I guess my thing is I normally think, well, I
- 36:52Speaker 2: don't know. I always thought the dad bod thing, you know,
- 36:55Speaker 2: there was research coming out that the dad bod is
- 36:57Speaker 2: actually more attractive than the guy that's in shape. I
- 36:59Speaker 2: always thought that was completely ridiculous. I'm like, girls would
- 37:01Speaker 2: not prefer a dad bod over someone who's got a
- 37:04Speaker 2: six pack.
- 37:04Speaker 3: Huh?
- 37:05Speaker 10: Well, it's intimate.
- 37:06Speaker 9: Like a six pack is like, get over yourself. You
- 37:09Speaker 9: know what I mean? Like it comes with a personality
- 37:11Speaker 9: that you just don't need. Like there's just no point.
- 37:14Speaker 9: And like dad, but I'm not talking about like completely
- 37:17Speaker 9: like let himself go.
- 37:18Speaker 7: Like, you know, but.
- 37:20Speaker 5: Just not, it's the things that are loose.
- 37:27Speaker 2: Whatever you're into, you're into, but you asked, you said
- 37:30Speaker 2: something that was very important to me. You said, I mean,
- 37:33Speaker 2: I don't know where this is going. And that was
- 37:34Speaker 2: my question. It's like, where is this going to go?
- 37:36Speaker 2: If you don't want to tell everybody about this guy,
- 37:38Speaker 2: you're dating is 54 Home Depot, dad. I mean, do
- 37:41Speaker 2: you continue to date him? You just, you don't even
- 37:43Speaker 2: think about the future, really. You're just doing what you do.
- 37:45Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 37:45Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 37:46Speaker 9: I mean, he's divorced. He has no kids. Like, it's
- 37:50Speaker 9: not like, I don't, you.
- 37:51Speaker 7: Know what I mean?
- 37:52Speaker 9: Like, we're not, there's no pressure right now to figure
- 37:54Speaker 9: anything out.
- 37:54Speaker 4: You're not getting into some messy past situation.
- 37:58Speaker 2: Right. Okay.
- 37:59Speaker 7: No, no.
- 38:00Speaker 9: He has an ex, but it seems like it's fine.
- 38:02Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 38:02Speaker 2: You think like one day you might bring them around
- 38:04Speaker 2: your friends or you don't know?
- 38:06Speaker 9: I don't know.
- 38:07Speaker 10: I don't know.
- 38:08Speaker 2: It's weird.
- 38:08Speaker 9: I'm trying to figure it out.
- 38:09Speaker 10: Like I'm into it, but I don't know.
- 38:11Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 38:11Speaker 11: I don't know.
- 38:11Speaker 4: I don't like that.
- 38:12Speaker 2: What's your daddy going to say?
- 38:13Speaker 7: Oh yeah.
- 38:15Speaker 10: I mean, my dad will probably ask for help with something.
- 38:19Speaker 2: Your dad's like, now I got a new friend.
- 38:23Speaker 4: They might be the same age.
- 38:25Speaker 2: Son-in-law. Son-in-law who's older than me. Whatever. Listen, we in Dallas,
- 38:33Speaker 2: we see this all the time, but there's usually one
- 38:34Speaker 2: other factor. Usually the guy is rich. Yeah. Sugar daddy.
- 38:38Speaker 2: It's a, it's a guy.
- 38:39Speaker 9: Who's like, he just pays his bills, you know?
- 38:43Speaker 2: Well, good. That is good. So, Hey, like I.
- 38:45Speaker 9: Dated a guy who like were, you know, like was
- 38:48Speaker 9: kind of, he wanted to like play his guitar all
- 38:50Speaker 9: the time and that was not going to work for us.
- 38:52Speaker 2: And he didn't pay his bills.
- 38:54Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 38:55Speaker 9: He did not. He wanted me to pay his bills,
- 38:57Speaker 9: so I don't want to do that.
- 38:59Speaker 2: Did he have a six-pack?
- 39:01Speaker 9: He did go to the gym.
- 39:02Speaker 2: He did.
- 39:03Speaker 4: He did.
- 39:04Speaker 10: Protein was really important to him.
- 39:07Speaker 2: He was protein maxing. All right. Well, thank you for
- 39:11Speaker 2: the confession. I'm glad you got that off your chest.
- 39:14Speaker 2: Please keep us up to date on what happens with
- 39:15Speaker 2: Home Depot, Dad.
- 39:16Speaker 3: I will. I will.
- 39:17Speaker 4: Okay.
- 39:18Speaker 1: All right.
- 39:18Speaker 2: Good luck.
- 39:20Speaker 10: Thank you.
- 39:20Speaker 2: That's got failure written all over it.
- 39:21Speaker 3: Oh. Come on. Yeah.
- 39:24Speaker 2: Fifty four and thirty.
- 39:25Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 39:26Speaker 2: That'd be like poo dating a 30 year old. What
- 39:30Speaker 2: does he got in common with a 30 year old?
- 39:32Speaker 2: He's got underwear that's 30 years old. Speaking of, we
- 39:37Speaker 2: have Candace Court coming up next and poo's on it.
- 39:39Speaker 2: I'm not mad. It's not between him and I. He
- 39:42Speaker 2: has nothing to do with me.
- 39:43Speaker 11: Good.
- 39:44Speaker 2: He went out with our boss, a big boss, for lunch,
- 39:47Speaker 2: and we didn't know about it.
- 39:48Speaker 4: I have FOMO, first of all.
- 39:49Speaker 2: Yeah, well. Yeah, we're gone. Well, hold on. He did
- 39:52Speaker 2: something at the lunch that I would say is questionable. Okay.
- 39:56Speaker 2: That's what we'll talk about next.
- 39:58Speaker 3: 102.9.
- 39:58Speaker 4: The new Mix 102.9.
- 40:05Speaker 2: It's time for Candice Court. It gets settled here with
- 40:09Speaker 2: Billy the Kid.
- 40:09Speaker 1: In the morning.
- 40:10Speaker 2: All rise for the Honorable Judge Candice Lopez here. She
- 40:13Speaker 2: is wrapped in her Bucky's blanket. It's extra chilly in
- 40:16Speaker 2: the mixed studio today. It is. I don't know what's
- 40:18Speaker 2: going on. I don't know.
- 40:19Speaker 4: I wear flip-flops today.
- 40:20Speaker 2: Are your toes cold?
- 40:21Speaker 4: My feet are cold, yeah.
- 40:22Speaker 2: Poo, go rub her feet.
- 40:23Speaker 4: No, no, I'm good.
- 40:25Speaker 2: Warm those little piggies up. Yeah. They're so cold. It's
- 40:29Speaker 2: Mix 102.9. Welcome to Candace Court. Billy the Kid. Judge
- 40:32Speaker 2: Candace is here. Bailiff Pooh is here. Actually, he can't
- 40:34Speaker 2: be the bailiff today because he's part of this case.
- 40:37Speaker 3: Right.
- 40:38Speaker 2: Now, the other day, Candace Court was about Pooh as well.
- 40:41Speaker 2: And we just talk about our real lives that's going on,
- 40:43Speaker 2: sometimes a little too much. Yeah. The other day, he
- 40:45Speaker 2: was on Candace Court because, oh, because he washed my hoodie. Unsolicited.
- 40:50Speaker 11: Right.
- 40:50Speaker 2: Yeah. and then put a bunch of scent beads on it,
- 40:53Speaker 2: and I don't know, it came out smelling weird. Like,
- 40:55Speaker 2: just taking someone's hoodie and washing it without asking them
- 40:59Speaker 2: is a little weird.
- 41:00Speaker 4: Above and beyond, but too far beyond?
- 41:03Speaker 2: Yeah, either way, he did it. Those scent beads smell
- 41:05Speaker 2: so good. For you, they do. You know what I'm saying?
- 41:09Speaker 2: I didn't want the scent beads. I like a certain
- 41:12Speaker 2: kind of, smell yeah and that maybe not that but
- 41:15Speaker 2: it's okay it's fine nothing big now this was a
- 41:18Speaker 2: little bit different because i kind of found out about
- 41:21Speaker 2: this through the grapevine and i need your help trust
- 41:24Speaker 2: me i need your help if you're listening right now
- 41:27Speaker 2: i'm gonna need your advice on this because i'm not
- 41:29Speaker 2: mad about it but it was kind of weird okay
- 41:31Speaker 2: so i'm in the hallway the other day somebody tells
- 41:33Speaker 2: me i don't want to name names but somebody's like
- 41:35Speaker 2: oh yeah i saw poo went to lunch with a
- 41:37Speaker 2: big boss and i was like oh really He did. What? So, yeah. Oh,
- 41:43Speaker 2: he's highfalutin.
- 41:44Speaker 4: But by himself.
- 41:45Speaker 2: Yeah. Right.
- 41:46Speaker 4: We do everything as a show, though.
- 41:48Speaker 2: We do everything together to the point where we get
- 41:51Speaker 2: annoyed with each other. Yeah. That's what we've done for decades. Yeah.
- 41:53Speaker 2: That's why we're all best friends and fight like brothers
- 41:56Speaker 2: and sisters.
- 41:57Speaker 3: Yes.
- 41:57Speaker 2: That's just what we do. So Pooh somehow ended up
- 42:01Speaker 2: at a lunch at a very nice place, by the way,
- 42:04Speaker 2: with one of our big suits.
- 42:06Speaker 11: Right?
- 42:07Speaker 2: Right. So how did that, and I'm curious, just the backstory,
- 42:11Speaker 2: first of all, how that happened. Because I told Pooh
- 42:13Speaker 2: about it off the air, and I'm like, you know what,
- 42:14Speaker 2: just save it for on the air. I don't even
- 42:17Speaker 2: know how it happened. How he's so fancy.
- 42:19Speaker 4: How did this happen, Pooh?
- 42:20Speaker 2: Oh, here's fancy Pooh. Well, you know, I always walk around.
- 42:27Speaker 2: I mean, I'm going to be honest, Judge.
- 42:29Speaker 4: You're a little social after the show in the office.
- 42:32Speaker 2: Yeah, sometimes I walk around, Judge. You know I walk around. Waddle.
- 42:36Speaker 2: Waddle around.
- 42:37Speaker 6: Go over to the vending machine, just see what's popping.
- 42:41Speaker 6: And I ran into him in the hallway over here.
- 42:44Speaker 2: Okay, but I can run into a lot of people.
- 42:46Speaker 2: I don't go to lunch with them.
- 42:47Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 42:48Speaker 2: Anyway, he was like, hey, how you doing? Whatever.
- 42:50Speaker 6: I'm in town for a little bit. He's like, let's
- 42:53Speaker 6: go to lunch. Why don't you tell Candace and Billy?
- 42:56Speaker 3: Wait.
- 42:57Speaker 9: Yeah.
- 42:58Speaker 2: Well, we were here.
- 42:59Speaker 4: You didn't tell us, though.
- 43:00Speaker 2: I told them y'all were already done and gone. But
- 43:03Speaker 2: we weren't. I don't know where I was. That's a
- 43:06Speaker 2: little shady. We were in the studio reading a commercial.
- 43:08Speaker 2: We were reading some liners. Y'all were still reading some liners. Now,
- 43:12Speaker 2: that's a little bit weird to me. That's weirder than
- 43:14Speaker 2: what happened at lunch to me because that's why not
- 43:18Speaker 2: say they're working while I'm walking around at the vending machine.
- 43:21Speaker 4: Let me see if they want to come.
- 43:22Speaker 2: So y'all just left. Yeah, he was like, well, you
- 43:25Speaker 2: know what? Let's just go real quick. I won't hold you.
- 43:28Speaker 2: Let's go to lunch. I was like, I won't hold you.
- 43:31Speaker 2: I hope not. Yeah, so I was like, you know me, food.
- 43:34Speaker 2: I don't play. I was like, yeah, let's go. So
- 43:36Speaker 2: they go to lunch. Now I find out through the
- 43:38Speaker 2: grapevine that that, poo, this happened. And I'm not upset
- 43:42Speaker 2: about it. Now I'm a little weirded out because.
- 43:44Speaker 4: Well, you're guilty for not inviting us, first of all.
- 43:46Speaker 2: First of all, yeah.
- 43:46Speaker 4: I don't know what else this is about.
- 43:47Speaker 2: I want to go to a fancy lunch and not pay. Yeah.
- 43:50Speaker 2: First of all. Second of all, you don't tell the boss, oh,
- 43:53Speaker 2: they're not working, they left, when we're actually in here working.
- 43:56Speaker 2: And you're walking around doing nothing. I don't... But here's
- 44:00Speaker 2: where it gets a little bit weird and I need
- 44:02Speaker 2: your help. Somebody casually mentioned to me what he ordered
- 44:06Speaker 2: at the lunch. Oh, God.
- 44:08Speaker 1: No.
- 44:09Speaker 2: Tell everybody what you ordered at this casual lunch. What
- 44:15Speaker 2: did you order? Steak and lobster.
- 44:19Speaker 4: You had steak and lobster without us?
- 44:22Speaker 2: Now. This person mentioned it to me kind of like,
- 44:26Speaker 2: I mean, that's a little aggressive. And I was like, wait,
- 44:29Speaker 2: what do you mean? And then I started thinking about it.
- 44:30Speaker 2: I'm like, you know what? This might be a good
- 44:32Speaker 2: Candace Court because I'm curious. And I'm not saying it is.
- 44:35Speaker 2: I don't know. I will say what I would have
- 44:37Speaker 2: done in that situation. I don't go to a lunch
- 44:41Speaker 2: with the big boss and order the nicest thing on
- 44:43Speaker 2: the menu. I just never do that.
- 44:45Speaker 11: Okay.
- 44:45Speaker 2: Now, in my defense, he said, get what you want. Okay. Well, sure.
- 44:49Speaker 2: Get what you want.
- 44:51Speaker 4: Now, did he also have steak and lobster? Because if
- 44:53Speaker 4: he did, then I don't see a problem with this.
- 44:56Speaker 2: No, I know the answer to that.
- 44:57Speaker 4: Because if you're eating the same thing he is, then
- 44:59Speaker 4: all good.
- 45:00Speaker 2: He's like you, Candace. He had a salad.
- 45:02Speaker 4: Oh, I know who we're talking about now.
- 45:04Speaker 2: He had a salad. He's on that healthy stuff.
- 45:07Speaker 6: Oh, there's fancy poo. Yeah, he had tofu or something
- 45:10Speaker 6: like that. It was fancy.
- 45:13Speaker 2: Huh. Poo had steak and lobster. Yeah. From what I hear,
- 45:16Speaker 2: he asked this server to bring out some more bread
- 45:19Speaker 2: and butter. Don't forget this. Well, that's normal. The asparagus.
- 45:24Speaker 1: Oh, yeah.
- 45:25Speaker 2: Asparagus tips. Yeah. Extra butter.
- 45:28Speaker 4: Interesting.
- 45:31Speaker 2: Peasant, if you don't mind, can you please bring me
- 45:34Speaker 2: some more butter for my lobster?
- 45:36Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 45:37Speaker 2: Yes, sir, Mr.
- 45:37Speaker 10: Pooh.
- 45:38Speaker 2: Lobster bisque. Okay.
- 45:40Speaker 4: Wow. I'm honestly just really jealous. Beside the fact that
- 45:43Speaker 4: you ordered what you ordered, steak and lobster, I wanted
- 45:46Speaker 4: to be there.
- 45:47Speaker 2: Let me ask you this, though. 833-787-1029. Is that tacky?
- 45:53Speaker 2: And I say that, and I don't think the boss noticed. Listen,
- 45:56Speaker 2: I think Pooh is Pooh, so I don't think anybody's shocked.
- 46:00Speaker 2: But there was a debate in the studio or not
- 46:02Speaker 2: here and in the hallways on whether that was, whether
- 46:05Speaker 2: that was a little much.
- 46:06Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 46:06Speaker 2: Whether that was like, there's certain things at a lunch
- 46:11Speaker 2: you don't want to order if you're out with your boss.
- 46:13Speaker 2: Maybe booze. I don't think booze was ordered. I didn't
- 46:15Speaker 2: even ask.
- 46:17Speaker 4: Yeah, did you guys have drinks?
- 46:18Speaker 2: Did you have a drink? No, no, I didn't have
- 46:19Speaker 2: a drink. I didn't have a drink. Who did you
- 46:21Speaker 2: have a drink? Oh, I did have an old-fashioned one. Wow!
- 46:27Speaker 7: Wow!
- 46:28Speaker 6: What a lunch, wasn't it?
- 46:33Speaker 2: What the heck? Okay.
- 46:35Speaker 8: 833-787-1029.
- 46:36Speaker 2: I'm going to take a quick poll. I'm just going
- 46:38Speaker 2: to take like 10 calls. Tacky or not? Tacky or nah?
- 46:43Speaker 2: Tacky or nah? 833-787-1029. In the meantime, Candace, do we
- 46:47Speaker 2: have a verdict?
- 46:47Speaker 4: Yeah, we do. Look, Pooh, you're guilty of being a
- 46:49Speaker 4: surf and turf Sam. A cocktail Chris.
- 46:56Speaker 2: A buttery Bob.
- 46:58Speaker 4: I don't mind the surf and turf, the steak and lobster,
- 47:01Speaker 4: but the cocktail, I think, pushed it across the line.
- 47:04Speaker 2: Well, he said, you know... Was he having a cocktail?
- 47:06Speaker 6: He goes, they have good old-fashioned here. He didn't have one,
- 47:08Speaker 6: but I was like.
- 47:09Speaker 2: That doesn't mean order one.
- 47:10Speaker 4: I was like, oh, I'll try.
- 47:11Speaker 2: On a Tuesday lunch, 833-787-1029. What do you think, tacky or...
- 47:17Speaker 2: It's Texas Top Stories on the 10s with Billy the
- 47:19Speaker 2: Kid in the morning.
- 47:20Speaker 3: Only on the new Mix 102.9.
- 47:22Speaker 2: No chance of that State Fair Texas season pass coming
- 47:25Speaker 2: up next, so get ready for that. Have us open
- 47:27Speaker 2: on the iHeartRadio app to win. We do it on
- 47:30Speaker 2: the 10s all day. Candace, what up?
- 47:31Speaker 4: Well, the North Texas Tollway Authority is adding seven more
- 47:34Speaker 4: states to their network of where you can keep driving
- 47:36Speaker 4: on toll roads with your current toll tag. So we're
- 47:39Speaker 4: talking Pennsylvania, Massachusetts. Up to Indiana.
- 47:43Speaker 2: Everywhere you go, it's going to be a toll. Like,
- 47:44Speaker 2: what do we pay taxes for?
- 47:45Speaker 4: Yeah, I mean, these toll rates are set locally by
- 47:48Speaker 4: the tollway authorities in those states. So you won't have
- 47:51Speaker 4: to update any account info or opt in to use
- 47:53Speaker 4: your current toll sticker there. But they're going to be
- 47:56Speaker 4: adding more states into the year 2028. Guys, McDonald's is
- 48:00Speaker 4: testing a new system that will show ads on their
- 48:03Speaker 4: digital menu boards. You will see these ads after you
- 48:06Speaker 4: place your order, so basically while you're sitting there waiting
- 48:09Speaker 4: to drive up to the window.
- 48:10Speaker 2: I hate it.
- 48:11Speaker 3: I do, too.
- 48:12Speaker 4: I'm just tired of screens everywhere and ads everywhere and
- 48:15Speaker 4: QR codes everywhere.
- 48:16Speaker 2: Watch. Now, before you order, you know what they're going
- 48:18Speaker 2: to do? They're going to have to read you a commercial.
- 48:21Speaker 7: Oh, no.
- 48:21Speaker 2: I'm not going there.
- 48:23Speaker 3: No.
- 48:23Speaker 4: If I get to watch a 30-second commercial, 15-second commercial....
- 48:27Speaker 2: Can I take your order first? Let me order from Verizon.
- 48:31Speaker 4: Oh, man.
- 48:31Speaker 2: That's what they're going to do.
- 48:32Speaker 4: Yeah, you might be right. McDonald's says this test is
- 48:36Speaker 4: meant to show customers content they may find helpful, relevant,
- 48:39Speaker 4: or interesting. I guess we'll see. Gen Zers online, guys,
- 48:43Speaker 4: are asking millennials to stop adding LOL or haha to
- 48:47Speaker 4: the end of every text message. I keep seeing this online.
- 48:51Speaker 4: They're saying it's coming across as passive aggressive when you
- 48:55Speaker 4: sign off of a text.
- 48:56Speaker 2: Do we really? Well, you're a millennial.
- 48:58Speaker 4: I do a lot of LOLs.
- 49:00Speaker 2: You do LOLs.
- 49:01Speaker 4: A lot of ha-has. Well, because I just don't know, like,
- 49:03Speaker 4: you know, where's this comment or conversation going?
- 49:06Speaker 1: LOL. Yeah.
- 49:07Speaker 4: I'm not doing it passive aggressive. It's just like, yeah,
- 49:10Speaker 4: I agree. That's funny.
- 49:11Speaker 2: Okay. Well, I guess we got to calm down.
- 49:13Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 49:14Speaker 4: They're saying that, you know, if you use a specific emoji,
- 49:16Speaker 4: that's fine or just nothing at all. I don't like that.
- 49:19Speaker 2: Though.
- 49:20Speaker 3: Boring.
- 49:21Speaker 4: That's passive aggressive.
- 49:22Speaker 2: Gen Z. So boring.
- 49:24Speaker 4: So boring.
- 49:24Speaker 2: Stop saying LOL. We don't want to have fun. Yeah.
- 49:27Speaker 4: Well, they have thrown out some alternatives to LOL, which
- 49:30Speaker 4: I hate these.
- 49:31Speaker 2: What?
- 49:31Speaker 4: L-A-L.
- 49:33Speaker 2: Laughed a little? Laughed a little.
- 49:34Speaker 4: How do you know that?
- 49:36Speaker 3: Me? Yeah.
- 49:37Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 49:39Speaker 3: L-I-M-H.
- 49:40Speaker 4: Do you know what that one is?
- 49:41Speaker 8: No.
- 49:42Speaker 2: What was it?
- 49:43Speaker 4: L-I-M-H.
- 49:44Speaker 3: No.
- 49:45Speaker 2: Laughed in my head.
- 49:46Speaker 4: Laughed inside my head.
- 49:47Speaker 3: Yes. Wow.
- 49:48Speaker 2: Look at me. I'm Gen Z.
- 49:49Speaker 4: Okay.
- 49:50Speaker 2: I just put D-L. Didn't laugh. No L-O-L?
- 49:53Speaker 4: No L-O-L. Not L-O-L?
- 49:55Speaker 3: Yes, exactly.
- 49:56Speaker 4: All right. I'm Candace Lopez. Those are your Texas Top Stories.
- 49:59Speaker 7: I love it.
- 50:00Speaker 2: Thank you for your help. We've got Hot Take of
- 50:02Speaker 2: the Day coming up next on Mix 102.9. Ability Kid,
- 50:04Speaker 2: Candace Lopez, Producer Pooh. So many calls. about this, whether
- 50:08Speaker 2: poo is tacky or nah, I'm going to the lunch.
- 50:12Speaker 2: With Boss Man and ordering a steak and lobster. Tacky
- 50:16Speaker 2: or not? Quick poll.
- 50:17Speaker 10: Yeah, tacky.
- 50:18Speaker 4: Tacky.
- 50:19Speaker 3: Okay. All right. One for tacky.
- 50:20Speaker 2: Thank you. What's your name?
- 50:21Speaker 9: My name's Jake.
- 50:23Speaker 2: I could tell, Jake. I could tell you wouldn't even
- 50:24Speaker 2: do this. You wouldn't do this at a lunch. Yeah,
- 50:26Speaker 2: I wouldn't. How old are you?
- 50:28Speaker 9: I'm 13.
- 50:29Speaker 2: 13. And you know better. Yes, sir. See, I like Jake.
- 50:33Speaker 2: Thank you, Jake. Where are you from, Jake?
- 50:34Speaker 10: I'm from Texas, sir.
- 50:35Speaker 2: Okay. Hey, Jake is 13, and he says even I
- 50:38Speaker 2: know not to do that. Thank you, Jake. You're an
- 50:43Speaker 2: incredible young man with good morals and good parents. Thank you, sir.
- 50:46Speaker 2: You do big things in life. We appreciate you, Jake.
- 50:48Speaker 2: All right. Thanks, guys. Thank you. You too. See, Nick.
- 50:51Speaker 2: Good morning, Nick. What do you think? Tacky or nah? Man,
- 50:54Speaker 2: he's guilty of being an old-fashioned Oliver.
- 51:00Speaker 8: Okay.
- 51:04Speaker 2: I think you're right, Nick. That's all that needs to
- 51:07Speaker 2: be said.
- 51:08Speaker 1: Later.
- 51:09Speaker 2: Brittany in ULIS. What's up, Brittany? Is it tacky or not?
- 51:12Speaker 7: No, of course not.
- 51:14Speaker 2: Okay. Okay.
- 51:15Speaker 3: Yes.
- 51:15Speaker 4: First vote for not.
- 51:17Speaker 2: First vote for not. You don't think so? No. You
- 51:19Speaker 2: would have done the same thing?
- 51:20Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 51:20Speaker 3: Okay.
- 51:20Speaker 10: Now, I'm not saying y'all's boss is like this at all.
- 51:24Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 51:24Speaker 10: But in most corporate worlds, the company is not always
- 51:29Speaker 10: the fairest.
- 51:30Speaker 9: To their employees.
- 51:30Speaker 1: True.
- 51:31Speaker 7: They're not giving them raises like they should.
- 51:33Speaker 10: And again, not y'all's boss.
- 51:34Speaker 2: Right, I know.
- 51:35Speaker 4: But in general.
- 51:36Speaker 7: In general. They're not there to make friends or anything.
- 51:39Speaker 2: So I'm sorry. If the boss sticks you out, it's
- 51:41Speaker 2: for a game.
- 51:42Speaker 4: It's only company, baby.
- 51:43Speaker 6: Okay.
- 51:43Speaker 2: So do what you want. Hey, you have a good point, Megan.
- 51:47Speaker 2: That's actually a really good argument. So thank you for calling.
- 51:49Speaker 2: I appreciate that.
- 51:50Speaker 7: You all have a great day.
- 51:51Speaker 2: You too. Thank you. The only problem is, though, is
- 51:53Speaker 2: this bill was so high that the boss came back
- 51:56Speaker 2: and had to fire three people. Yeah. So we can
- 51:59Speaker 2: pay for Pooh's lunch. Megan. All right, Megan, do you
- 52:03Speaker 2: think it's tacky or nah?
- 52:04Speaker 3: Nah, not at all.
- 52:06Speaker 6: I would mooch off the boss.
- 52:08Speaker 2: I mean, why not?
- 52:08Speaker 6: They have the money.
- 52:10Speaker 9: It's the company card.
- 52:11Speaker 2: Yeah, for sure. All right. This Pooh activity right here.
- 52:15Speaker 2: I love it. Megan, thank you so much. I appreciate it.
- 52:18Speaker 2: We need a tie-breaking vote. Thank you, Megan. Have a
- 52:19Speaker 2: good day. Oh, you know what? Let's ask JJ. JJ
- 52:22Speaker 2: and Frisco's calling. JJ, you are going to be the
- 52:24Speaker 2: deciding vote on whether Pooh is tacky or nah. And
- 52:29Speaker 2: that's tacky. Oh, yes! Yeah, J.J.
- 52:33Speaker 7: Just because it knows they're brown don't mean we got
- 52:34Speaker 7: to do it, brother.
- 52:36Speaker 4: Oh, that's a hot take.
- 52:38Speaker 3: Let us know what you think. Here's today's hot take.
- 52:40Speaker 2: All right, hopefully you're having a good morning. It's Bailey
- 52:42Speaker 2: the Kid, Candace Lopez, producer Pooh. I want to talk
- 52:44Speaker 2: about this for hot take of the day. Some things
- 52:47Speaker 2: that are wildly overrated.
- 52:49Speaker 4: Okay.
- 52:50Speaker 2: There's a list of things that are just, oh, so
- 52:52Speaker 2: many people say, oh, totally overrated. What do you think
- 52:54Speaker 2: is overrated? 833-787-1029. It could be something that everybody else
- 52:59Speaker 2: think is the best thing on earth when it comes
- 53:01Speaker 2: to food. It could be a trend that you can't stand.
- 53:04Speaker 2: It could be, I don't know what else it could be.
- 53:06Speaker 2: It could be us. It could be anything. OK, 833-787-1029, because,
- 53:11Speaker 2: you know, I love a good list. Things that are overrated.
- 53:13Speaker 2: Should I just start with mine?
- 53:14Speaker 4: Because I go for it.
- 53:16Speaker 2: I mean, I don't think I really feel like this
- 53:18Speaker 2: is just something that's totally overrated and it's random. But
- 53:21Speaker 2: I thought about it the other day. Breakfast in bed
- 53:26Speaker 2: is disgusting.
- 53:27Speaker 4: Why once in a while it feels good candace.
- 53:29Speaker 2: I'm gonna go ahead and say as i get older
- 53:32Speaker 2: something about eating in bed is the grossest thing to.
- 53:34Speaker 4: Me ever okay no i don't like crumbs in there
- 53:37Speaker 4: i don't like anything like messy yes like yeah i.
- 53:41Speaker 2: Don't know why as i get older i'm getting real
- 53:43Speaker 2: weird i cannot eat in bed i'm not even not
- 53:46Speaker 2: a snack i don't watch tv in bed okay i
- 53:50Speaker 2: don't i sleep in bed.
- 53:52Speaker 4: I thought you were going to say matcha, so this
- 53:53Speaker 4: is so different.
- 53:56Speaker 2: Oh, let's start over. Yeah. Let's put that on the
- 53:59Speaker 2: list right now. It needs to be. You know what? Actually,
- 54:02Speaker 2: you're right. I'm putting that at number one. Matcha is
- 54:06Speaker 2: the most overrated thing to me in the world.
- 54:08Speaker 4: It's so good for you, though. It's an acquired taste.
- 54:11Speaker 2: Well, so is grass. Go eat that grass. Right up
- 54:14Speaker 2: there in front.
- 54:14Speaker 4: I've done wheatgrass shots.
- 54:16Speaker 3: Overrated.
- 54:17Speaker 2: Possibly, yeah. Every time I've had a wheatgrass shot, I
- 54:19Speaker 2: get sick.
- 54:20Speaker 4: Uh-huh. Yeah, because your body's not used to it. It's
- 54:23Speaker 4: a lot. It's a lot.
- 54:24Speaker 2: It crashes my immune system.
- 54:26Speaker 4: No, it doesn't.
- 54:28Speaker 2: It's overrated.
- 54:28Speaker 1: Okay.
- 54:29Speaker 2: Do you have something you think is overrated, Candace?
- 54:31Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 54:31Speaker 4: I hate to say this, but live action remakes of movies.
- 54:35Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 54:35Speaker 4: I just, I like the animated versions just to be
- 54:38Speaker 4: the classics.
- 54:39Speaker 2: What do you mean live?
- 54:40Speaker 4: Well, like Lion King. Like they try to remake the
- 54:42Speaker 4: Lion King live action and just nothing will ever top
- 54:45Speaker 4: the animated original for me.
- 54:47Speaker 2: Okay.
- 54:47Speaker 4: People like them, but.
- 54:49Speaker 2: Yeah. Oh, I'm getting some Instagrams too. By the way,
- 54:52Speaker 2: if you have one at Billy on the radio, what
- 54:54Speaker 2: do you think is overrated at Billy on the radio?
- 54:56Speaker 2: Somebody put, in all caps, Benson Boone.
- 55:01Speaker 3: Oh.
- 55:02Speaker 2: Oh. He's a talented guy.
- 55:04Speaker 4: He's very talented.
- 55:05Speaker 2: I will say, if I see him flip one more time,
- 55:08Speaker 2: I'm going to lose my mind.
- 55:11Speaker 4: I think that's on your hates list. Yeah, Benson Boone flipping.
- 55:13Speaker 2: Yeah, and I don't hate Benson Boone.
- 55:14Speaker 4: No, just the flips.
- 55:15Speaker 2: He has an incredible mustache. He's trying to be like Pink,
- 55:18Speaker 2: just be all over the place. No. Pink flies around
- 55:21Speaker 2: in the air. Yeah, exactly. Benson just flips.
- 55:23Speaker 4: Well, that's cool.
- 55:24Speaker 2: I think I'm just jealous.
- 55:26Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 55:27Speaker 2: Because I can't flip. I don't even think I can
- 55:28Speaker 2: do a somersault.
- 55:29Speaker 4: Have you tried?
- 55:30Speaker 2: No, and I'm not going to, so stop. Please try.
- 55:33Speaker 2: Do you want me to hurt myself?
- 55:34Speaker 11: No.
- 55:35Speaker 2: My hand's barely recovering.
- 55:36Speaker 4: No, don't do a somersault.
- 55:37Speaker 2: Someone said Benson Boone. All right, Poodie, you got one.
- 55:39Speaker 2: What's something you think is overrated? Yeah, Teslas. Oh, yeah.
- 55:43Speaker 2: Teslas are overrated. Why?
- 55:45Speaker 6: My sister's friend got one. He was like, check it out.
- 55:48Speaker 6: It has this and this.
- 55:49Speaker 2: I'm like, no, man, just put gas in the car.
- 55:52Speaker 2: That's it. They're so quiet.
- 55:53Speaker 6: The people downstairs almost got hit by one because you
- 55:57Speaker 6: can't even hear them.
- 55:58Speaker 2: Well, I don't know. I kind of like them. I've
- 56:02Speaker 2: never had an electric car, though.
- 56:03Speaker 4: Yeah, they're nice.
- 56:04Speaker 2: Right. The idea of not putting gas in a car.
- 56:07Speaker 4: It's awesome.
- 56:08Speaker 2: Especially when it's $ 5 a gallon, almost.
- 56:10Speaker 4: Yeah, very awesome.
- 56:12Speaker 2: Teslas sound pretty good. I know. Somebody put live music
- 56:16Speaker 2: on my Instagram. What? Live music. Live music. At some point,
- 56:22Speaker 2: it just becomes exhausting, and you have to pay way
- 56:24Speaker 2: too much for a ticket to get in. Oh. You
- 56:27Speaker 2: know what?
- 56:28Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 56:29Speaker 2: I will agree on that. The concerts have become so
- 56:31Speaker 2: unreasonable that you do start to think, is it even
- 56:34Speaker 2: worth it?
- 56:35Speaker 7: Right.
- 56:36Speaker 2: Yeah. Is it even worth going to?
- 56:37Speaker 4: It's usually worth it. By the time I leave, I'm like,
- 56:39Speaker 4: all right, that was a good show.
- 56:41Speaker 2: I'm trying to think of the last concert I went
- 56:42Speaker 2: to that I was like, now that was worth it. Right.
- 56:45Speaker 2: We went to Ella. Ella. Okay, that was worth it.
- 56:48Speaker 4: Angela's just eaten me and said croissants. And I hate that.
- 56:53Speaker 3: Wow.
- 56:53Speaker 4: Because they are so flaky and crumbly. Yeah. She said
- 56:56Speaker 4: you don't even eat half of it because it just
- 56:58Speaker 4: flakes off.
- 56:59Speaker 2: I'm going to go ahead. And I kind of agree
- 57:00Speaker 2: with that. I'm going to go ahead and add something
- 57:02Speaker 2: to the list last minute. Ella Langley's new boyfriend. Tucker Wetmore.
- 57:09Speaker 10: Overrated?
- 57:10Speaker 3: Overrated.
- 57:11Speaker 2: So what if you got a six pack? Nobody cares.
- 57:14Speaker 4: And a mustache.
- 57:15Speaker 2: And a perfect mustache.
- 57:16Speaker 4: Modern cowboy mustache is the move.
- 57:18Speaker 2: And a golden tan. And good style. And everything else.
- 57:24Speaker 2: I'm not jealous, but I just want to be him.
- 57:28Speaker 2: I just want to be him. Tomorrow is the big day.
- 57:33Speaker 2: We are getting ready for our corny dog walk. Oh,
- 57:37Speaker 2: we got fancy music. It's Mix 102.9. Ability Kid, Candice Lopez,
- 57:43Speaker 2: Producer Pooh. State Fair of Texas kicks off tomorrow. We
- 57:45Speaker 2: did this last year, and it was a joke, really.
- 57:47Speaker 2: It really started off as, I'm going to walk to
- 57:49Speaker 2: the fair in a corny dog outfit. Because why not?
- 57:51Speaker 2: I'll feel better about all the things I eat when
- 57:52Speaker 2: I get there.
- 57:53Speaker 4: Right, but you surprised him by telling him that he
- 57:55Speaker 4: was doing it, too. Yeah, exactly.
- 57:56Speaker 2: Yeah, I surprised Pooh by saying, oh, yeah, you're walking
- 57:58Speaker 2: with me.
- 57:58Speaker 4: Right.
- 57:59Speaker 2: And then I had a bunch of tickets, by chance.
- 58:02Speaker 2: I was like, well, I have some tickets. If you
- 58:03Speaker 2: find me on the way down there, we're hard to miss.
- 58:05Speaker 2: We'll be in corny dog outfits. Find me. I'll give
- 58:07Speaker 2: you the tickets. We ended up giving away so many
- 58:10Speaker 2: tickets last year. And now this year it's blown up
- 58:12Speaker 2: to the point where the State Fair of Texas is
- 58:14Speaker 2: actually involved in it. They're hooking us up and they've
- 58:16Speaker 2: done so many awesome things for us so we can
- 58:19Speaker 2: make it bigger this year. So in turn, I was like, well,
- 58:21Speaker 2: why don't we do a couple of things? We'll do
- 58:23Speaker 2: the walk again. Find us on the way down there tomorrow.
- 58:25Speaker 2: We kick it off at 10, leave it here at
- 58:27Speaker 2: the station at Spring Valley in the tollway. Walk all
- 58:29Speaker 2: the way to the fair grounds.
- 58:32Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 58:32Speaker 2: Poo made it nine miles last year.
- 58:34Speaker 4: That's good.
- 58:35Speaker 2: I'm expecting we flip that number upside down, and it's
- 58:38Speaker 2: going to be a six. He's going to make it
- 58:40Speaker 2: six miles this year.
- 58:41Speaker 4: He's going to at least make it ten.
- 58:43Speaker 2: Yeah, I have to. I have to because people are
- 58:46Speaker 2: talking smack online. Well, here's what I worry about, Candace.
- 58:49Speaker 2: I'm going to be really transparent. I think he can
- 58:52Speaker 2: make it, but I'm worried I won't cross the fairgrounds
- 58:55Speaker 2: until midnight. Okay.
- 58:58Speaker 4: That's a good point.
- 58:59Speaker 2: And I'm being honest. If I wait for him, it's like...
- 59:02Speaker 2: because Billy walks well I'm like you know.
- 59:06Speaker 4: Come on yeah you move at a fast pace I.
- 59:08Speaker 2: Want to get there yeah And I'm hard to find.
- 59:12Speaker 4: The fair's over at 10 tomorrow night.
- 59:15Speaker 2: Oh, so I'll be there Saturday morning. Either way, we'll
- 59:18Speaker 2: figure it out. But we want to do something to
- 59:20Speaker 2: help out the fair because they do so many incredible
- 59:22Speaker 2: things as a non-profit. And a lot of people don't
- 59:24Speaker 2: know they operate as a non-profit and one of the
- 59:26Speaker 2: biggest in Texas. So we got Thank you to the
- 59:29Speaker 2: Print House, Print House and Fate. Yeah, we got these
- 59:32Speaker 2: awesome shirts made. And then every shirt we sell, we're
- 59:34Speaker 2: going to donate some of the money to obviously to
- 59:38Speaker 2: the fair and what they can do just to give back.
- 59:39Speaker 2: And we're like, hey, maybe we could sell a couple
- 59:41Speaker 2: hundred shirts. Well, good news is we sold more than
- 59:45Speaker 2: a couple hundred, which we're so happy about. Thank you
- 59:49Speaker 2: to Dr. Chris. Dr. Chris is awesome at Taylor Counseling Group.
- 59:53Speaker 2: He bought a ton of shirts for him and his staff.
- 59:57Speaker 11: Aw.
- 59:58Speaker 2: Which is so cool. Thank you, Dr. Chris. We love him. Also,
- 1:00:02Speaker 2: thank you to, randomly, Hilary Duff.
- 1:00:04Speaker 7: That's awesome.
- 1:00:06Speaker 2: Hilary Duff heard we were doing this. She's a Texas girl.
- 1:00:08Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:00:08Speaker 2: She's been to the fair. For sure. She was like, hey,
- 1:00:10Speaker 2: you know what? Let me buy like 40 shirts.
- 1:00:12Speaker 4: That's awesome.
- 1:00:13Speaker 2: So, yes. Thank you, Hilary Duff. She's so sweet for
- 1:00:16Speaker 2: doing that. So, you could still buy them, though. Mix1029FM
- 1:00:19Speaker 2: on our Instagram, at Mix1029FM. It helps out big time.
- 1:00:24Speaker 2: And one of the things that the State Fair of
- 1:00:26Speaker 2: Texas does, and we've been highlighting people who they helped
- 1:00:29Speaker 2: over the years, is they help out the vendors, local vendors.
- 1:00:32Speaker 2: They help out, you know, food pantries. They do a
- 1:00:34Speaker 2: lot of things. The big techs. Business masterclass is something
- 1:00:38Speaker 2: I didn't even really know about that they do. Tiffany Adams,
- 1:00:41Speaker 2: who owns the Cromwell Bakery, she's on the phone. Tiffany,
- 1:00:43Speaker 2: I mean, this has been awesome for you. This is
- 1:00:45Speaker 2: a whole experience.
- 1:00:46Speaker 7: Yes, it's been wonderful. It's been amazing just experiencing and
- 1:00:49Speaker 7: meeting all the different businesses of my cohort members and
- 1:00:53Speaker 7: getting to talk to a lot of the concessionaires that
- 1:00:55Speaker 7: already exist with the State Fair.
- 1:00:57Speaker 2: Yeah, a lot of people don't know that a lot
- 1:00:59Speaker 2: of the vendors, I mean, are local. They're local businesses, including,
- 1:01:02Speaker 2: you know, you. You own the Cromwell Bakery. I want
- 1:01:06Speaker 2: to check it out. How do I do it? Do
- 1:01:07Speaker 2: you do pop-ups around North Texas or around us?
- 1:01:10Speaker 9: Yes, I do a.
- 1:01:11Speaker 7: Lot of festivals, big festivals and large farmers markets and
- 1:01:15Speaker 7: things around the DFW Metroplex.
- 1:01:17Speaker 2: Oh, that's awesome. How do I find out where you're
- 1:01:18Speaker 2: at next so I can come see you and get
- 1:01:20Speaker 2: some goods?
- 1:01:21Speaker 7: Yes, we're very visible on Instagram and TikTok under the Cromwell.
- 1:01:27Speaker 7: And Cromwell is spelled C-R-U-M-B-W-E-L-L.
- 1:01:31Speaker 2: That's awesome. Okay, I'm going to check it out. How
- 1:01:33Speaker 2: did it change things for you when you went through
- 1:01:36Speaker 2: the master class?
- 1:01:37Speaker 7: For me, it was very reaffirming. We've been established since 2020.
- 1:01:42Speaker 7: And so we've learned a lot of, we've been through
- 1:01:45Speaker 7: a lot of tests and trials along the way. But
- 1:01:47Speaker 7: what's really promising about the big tech master class is
- 1:01:51Speaker 7: that you really get a pulse for what's going on
- 1:01:54Speaker 7: in the community and the legacy behind a lot of
- 1:01:58Speaker 7: the concessionaires. So you get to meet with them. They
- 1:02:00Speaker 7: get to taste your product. You meet with the president
- 1:02:04Speaker 7: of the concession for the state fair. It's really a
- 1:02:06Speaker 7: great way to network and just glean and learn from them.
- 1:02:10Speaker 7: And our cohort members, our class is just really great.
- 1:02:13Speaker 7: It's every other week we meet.
- 1:02:16Speaker 2: I didn't know about it at first either.
- 1:02:18Speaker 7: It was brand new to me. But really how I
- 1:02:22Speaker 7: heard about it is just from applying to be a concessionaire.
- 1:02:24Speaker 7: And so you get to hear from different states and attorneys.
- 1:02:29Speaker 7: It's really fun.
- 1:02:30Speaker 2: Yeah, it sounds fun. It sounds like an awesome learning experience, too.
- 1:02:33Speaker 7: It definitely is.
- 1:02:35Speaker 2: What is now just a completely different topic? What's your
- 1:02:38Speaker 2: favorite thing at the fair to eat since you're a baker?
- 1:02:43Speaker 4: Everything.
- 1:02:44Speaker 2: Yes.
- 1:02:44Speaker 7: Everything is my favorite. I've been going since a little kid.
- 1:02:48Speaker 7: My family, we would always go on a last date
- 1:02:50Speaker 7: every single year. It's a big to-do for us. But
- 1:02:52Speaker 7: my first stop would be, of course, the Fletcher's Corn Dog.
- 1:02:56Speaker 7: And then always on my way out, I would have
- 1:02:58Speaker 7: to get a funnel cake. And cotton candy, and now drizzles.
- 1:03:02Speaker 7: I ate everything, honestly.
- 1:03:03Speaker 2: That's crazy. You know what's wild about that? That's my routine.
- 1:03:07Speaker 4: That's ours, too.
- 1:03:08Speaker 2: My family does that. You have to do that.
- 1:03:10Speaker 4: Funnel cake on the way out.
- 1:03:11Speaker 2: Yeah, me, too. Funnel cake on the way out, cotton
- 1:03:13Speaker 2: candy on the way out. I usually get that for
- 1:03:14Speaker 2: my son, and then he uses it. I'll eat it later, Dad.
- 1:03:17Speaker 2: And then he eats it all in the car, and
- 1:03:19Speaker 2: by Addison, we're sick. Yeah.
- 1:03:22Speaker 9: Absolutely.
- 1:03:23Speaker 2: That's the way to do it. Oh, that's awesome. Well, Tiffany,
- 1:03:26Speaker 2: thank you for taking time to talk to us and
- 1:03:28Speaker 2: sharing your experience, because I love what the State Fair
- 1:03:30Speaker 2: of Texas does for so many people. Follow you, the
- 1:03:34Speaker 2: Crumwell Bakery on Instagram and TikTok. And of course, the
- 1:03:37Speaker 2: crumb is C-R-U-M-B. Get it, crumb.
- 1:03:41Speaker 4: We're crumb snatchers now.
- 1:03:42Speaker 2: Yeah, we're crumb snatchers.
- 1:03:44Speaker 7: You are crumb snatchers, yes.
- 1:03:45Speaker 2: Hey, thank you, Tiffany. And we'll come see you soon
- 1:03:48Speaker 2: when you're on the bound. I want to try some goodies.
- 1:03:50Speaker 7: Sure thing. Thank you. I'll go buy some.
- 1:03:53Speaker 4: The new Mix 102.9.
- 1:03:55Speaker 8: It's Texas Top Stories on the 10s with Billy the
- 1:03:58Speaker 8: Kid in the Morning.
- 1:03:59Speaker 3: Only on the new Mix 102.9.
- 1:04:01Speaker 4: I'm a little bit nervous, Candace.
- 1:04:03Speaker 3: Why?
- 1:04:04Speaker 2: Well, we got our season pass. State Fair Texas coming
- 1:04:06Speaker 2: up next if you want to win. But the Aesthetic
- 1:04:08Speaker 2: Society is here. Thank you, Aesthetic Society. They're in Southlake.
- 1:04:12Speaker 2: They're here. Veronica and Ashley are here because we're getting
- 1:04:14Speaker 2: a Myers IV.
- 1:04:15Speaker 8: Yes.
- 1:04:16Speaker 2: Preparing ourselves for our walk tomorrow. We got to be hydrated.
- 1:04:19Speaker 4: It's so smart to get this done today and then
- 1:04:21Speaker 4: you're good to go.
- 1:04:22Speaker 2: Yeah, so literally as we speak, I guess I'm ready. Ashley,
- 1:04:25Speaker 2: you know what? Just go ahead and do it. Ashley's
- 1:04:27Speaker 2: just going to poke me.
- 1:04:28Speaker 4: Okay.
- 1:04:29Speaker 2: Are you going to get poked while you do Texas
- 1:04:30Speaker 2: Top Stories? I can, yeah.
- 1:04:31Speaker 3: Okay.
- 1:04:32Speaker 4: Pooey.
- 1:04:32Speaker 2: You getting poked? Yes, I am.
- 1:04:34Speaker 4: Who's about to get... That's not... Veronica, you don't say poked.
- 1:04:36Speaker 4: What is it? What's the term?
- 1:04:39Speaker 2: It's started.
- 1:04:40Speaker 4: Just get the IVs started.
- 1:04:41Speaker 2: Yeah, get the IVs started. And I don't... Poo, pull
- 1:04:43Speaker 2: your pants up. That's not how they do IVs. I
- 1:04:46Speaker 2: thought I was trying to pick the cheek. Oh, okay.
- 1:04:49Speaker 2: Candace Lopez, let's see if you can do this. I'm
- 1:04:51Speaker 2: getting poked right now. As we do Texas Top Stories.
- 1:04:54Speaker 2: Go ahead.
- 1:04:55Speaker 3: All right.
- 1:04:55Speaker 4: Well, the city of Prosper postponed a vote on zoning
- 1:04:58Speaker 4: for a multi-billion dollar mini Venice... So this idea is crazy.
- 1:05:03Speaker 4: We're talking 143 acre Italian inspired village. It'll be around
- 1:05:07Speaker 4: a 15 acre lagoon with thousands of residential units. It
- 1:05:11Speaker 4: would be called the Marco. This place looks intense.
- 1:05:15Speaker 3: Wow.
- 1:05:16Speaker 2: Oh, wait, no. Oh, I was talking about the place.
- 1:05:18Speaker 2: It doesn't even hurt at all. No, this place looks beautiful.
- 1:05:21Speaker 2: It's going to be a 3D in the tollway. Just
- 1:05:23Speaker 2: imagine a mini Venice.
- 1:05:24Speaker 4: Yeah, so some of the leaders there in Prosper say
- 1:05:28Speaker 4: they want to make some tweaks to the plans. The
- 1:05:29Speaker 4: developer says the changes they're asking for don't substantially change
- 1:05:33Speaker 4: what they had planned for the project. But we're talking
- 1:05:36Speaker 4: 4,400 residential units, apartments, senior living units, condos, villas, townhomes,
- 1:05:41Speaker 4: and cottages.
- 1:05:42Speaker 2: That's cool.
- 1:05:43Speaker 4: Yeah, so they're saying as of now, not a lot
- 1:05:45Speaker 4: of details, but apartment rental rates would start at $ 2, 500,
- 1:05:48Speaker 4: and then condos could sell for over $ 10 million. Wow.
- 1:05:53Speaker 4: Some of these units. Yeah, two hotels, offices. I mean,
- 1:05:56Speaker 4: it's a whole thing.
- 1:05:58Speaker 2: Yeah, that's a lot.
- 1:05:59Speaker 4: Yeah, I can't imagine driving up the tollway and just seeing,
- 1:06:01Speaker 4: you know, canals, water.
- 1:06:03Speaker 2: Yeah, no, it'd be cool. Wait, the aesthetic society just
- 1:06:05Speaker 2: poked poo. Is Whataburger gravy coming out of his veins?
- 1:06:09Speaker 3: No?
- 1:06:10Speaker 2: Okay, I was just checking. He's good.
- 1:06:14Speaker 4: Real quick, guys, cities across... It's a ranch. Yeah, cities
- 1:06:19Speaker 4: across the country will declare tomorrow Dolly Parton Day, tomorrow,
- 1:06:22Speaker 4: September 25th, or 925. I know California has officially created
- 1:06:28Speaker 4: an annual celebration to honor her. They're going to have
- 1:06:31Speaker 4: pink lights and fundraising happening in Nashville and then a
- 1:06:33Speaker 4: Dolly themed parade through New Orleans.
- 1:06:36Speaker 2: Wow, that's cool.
- 1:06:37Speaker 4: Yeah, I think some of these events are going to
- 1:06:38Speaker 4: be popping up around the Metroplex as well. Dolly Parton
- 1:06:41Speaker 4: Day at Truckyard in Dallas, if you want to celebrate
- 1:06:44Speaker 4: as well. A beautiful life. So it's fun that I
- 1:06:47Speaker 4: think Dolly would approve of all of these celebrations.
- 1:06:49Speaker 2: Absolutely.
- 1:06:51Speaker 4: And then Taylor Swift, of course, made a big announcement yesterday.
- 1:06:54Speaker 4: The Life of a Showgirl, the encore album with four
- 1:06:57Speaker 4: new songs. And she's going to premiere the video. It
- 1:07:00Speaker 4: looks more like a short film of Patient Zero, her
- 1:07:03Speaker 4: new song coming out tomorrow. This thing is starring Colin
- 1:07:06Speaker 4: Farrell and Dakota Johnson. Taylor stars in it as well.
- 1:07:10Speaker 4: It looks incredible. No clue what this is about, but
- 1:07:12Speaker 4: I think it's going to be huge Sunday night on
- 1:07:15Speaker 4: the VMAs. So you don't want to miss that.
- 1:07:17Speaker 2: That's what she does.
- 1:07:18Speaker 4: That is what she does. Everything big. She's taking artist
- 1:07:20Speaker 4: director honors for the first time at the VMAs. So
- 1:07:24Speaker 4: it'll be good. I'm Candace Lopez. Those are your Texas
- 1:07:26Speaker 4: Top Stories.
- 1:07:28Speaker 2: Get it off your chest.
- 1:07:29Speaker 1: It's Dirty Little Secret with Billy the Kid in the
- 1:07:32Speaker 1: Morning on Mix 102.9.
- 1:07:34Speaker 2: Anytime you want to confess. Anytime you want to confess, 833-787-1029.
- 1:07:38Speaker 2: It doesn't matter what it is. Candace, if you feel
- 1:07:41Speaker 2: like you've got a dirty little secret you need to
- 1:07:42Speaker 2: get off your chest, do it.
- 1:07:44Speaker 4: Yeah, I might.
- 1:07:44Speaker 2: You have no secrets.
- 1:07:45Speaker 7: No, I don't.
- 1:07:46Speaker 2: Maybe you do. Maybe you have the secrets and we
- 1:07:49Speaker 2: just don't know about them, but I've known you for
- 1:07:51Speaker 2: a long time. I know no good secrets.
- 1:07:52Speaker 4: I know.
- 1:07:53Speaker 2: I could get poo arrested right now with all the
- 1:07:57Speaker 2: secrets I know about him. Either way. All right. If
- 1:07:59Speaker 2: you got one, 833-787-1029. Just tell us about it. Confess
- 1:08:01Speaker 2: anytime you want. Go ahead. You got one.
- 1:08:03Speaker 9: Yeah, I'm going to admit something that I literally I've
- 1:08:06Speaker 9: never told anybody because I just I know you guys
- 1:08:10Speaker 9: are going to make fun of me. I just know
- 1:08:12Speaker 9: I'm 30 for some reason. The older I get, the
- 1:08:17Speaker 9: more I've developed this really specific type. And I call
- 1:08:24Speaker 9: them Home Depot dad's.
- 1:08:28Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:08:28Speaker 5: I mean, you know exactly what I'm talking about.
- 1:08:30Speaker 9: It's older guys, like a little rough around the edges,
- 1:08:32Speaker 9: maybe slightly frumpy, like dad bod, faded jeans. Like I
- 1:08:35Speaker 9: like the beat up work boots.
- 1:08:37Speaker 5: It's the kind of guy you see walking around Home Depot.
- 1:08:39Speaker 9: At like 830 on Saturday.
- 1:08:41Speaker 2: Okay.
- 1:08:42Speaker 10: And I don't, yeah, I don't know why I find
- 1:08:45Speaker 10: it so hot.
- 1:08:46Speaker 2: Hold on, hold on. You find, okay, so this is your,
- 1:08:49Speaker 2: and you sound young. You're 30, you said.
- 1:08:51Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:08:52Speaker 2: So you're into what you call Home Depot dads, which.
- 1:08:55Speaker 3: Yeah, I don't.
- 1:08:57Speaker 9: It makes no sense. Like, I get it. It makes
- 1:08:58Speaker 9: no sense. Like, I'm young. like I'm cute like.
- 1:09:01Speaker 5: I take care of myself like if you saw me you.
- 1:09:03Speaker 9: Probably like you wouldn't guess like that's my thing but
- 1:09:06Speaker 9: like I I don't have some weird dad trauma just
- 1:09:10Speaker 9: before you ask like My dad's in pretty good shape.
- 1:09:12Speaker 9: Like he just, I don't know. He barely knows how
- 1:09:15Speaker 9: to hang a picture on the wall. So it's like,
- 1:09:17Speaker 9: I have no idea.
- 1:09:17Speaker 2: That's funny because that's the first thing I was going
- 1:09:19Speaker 2: to ask. I was like, do you have some kind
- 1:09:20Speaker 2: of like weird thing with your dad where you like,
- 1:09:23Speaker 2: you know, I don't know. Daddy issues. So you like frumpy, older,
- 1:09:27Speaker 2: frumpy guys. Yeah.
- 1:09:29Speaker 10: I'm kind of dating one right now.
- 1:09:31Speaker 9: We've gone out a few times. Like he's 54. Like
- 1:09:37Speaker 9: he's just totally like he's just a regular dude with.
- 1:09:39Speaker 2: A dad bod.
- 1:09:40Speaker 9: Like he's just got work boots, old jeans.
- 1:09:44Speaker 4: I don't know.
- 1:09:46Speaker 2: My mind is blown right now. I just don't. I
- 1:09:48Speaker 2: didn't expect it. OK, so you're he's 54. You're 30. Yeah,
- 1:09:53Speaker 2: that's a pretty big age gap. I know.
- 1:09:55Speaker 9: I'm just really attracted to him. It's ridiculous. And I think,
- 1:10:01Speaker 9: I don't know, he's confused why I'm into him. He's
- 1:10:04Speaker 9: even made comments like, you know you could date somebody
- 1:10:06Speaker 9: your own age, right?
- 1:10:07Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 1:10:10Speaker 10: We've been dating just for.
- 1:10:12Speaker 2: A little while.
- 1:10:13Speaker 9: I haven't brought him in around any of my friends
- 1:10:15Speaker 9: or family because I already know they're going to be like,
- 1:10:17Speaker 9: this is your boyfriend? And I don't know.
- 1:10:20Speaker 10: I don't know where it's going.
- 1:10:21Speaker 9: I definitely haven't told him that he basically checks every
- 1:10:24Speaker 9: box in my extremely embarrassing Home Depot dad fantasy. But
- 1:10:28Speaker 9: this is who.
- 1:10:29Speaker 3: I am now.
- 1:10:30Speaker 9: I don't know what it is.
- 1:10:31Speaker 10: I'm just into it.
- 1:10:32Speaker 4: I'm just into it.
- 1:10:33Speaker 2: My Home Depot dad fantasy. It could be worse. Yeah.
- 1:10:38Speaker 2: Could it?
- 1:10:39Speaker 4: Could be a lot worse.
- 1:10:39Speaker 2: I'm not saying it's bad. I'm just saying people are
- 1:10:42Speaker 2: into what they're into. It doesn't. Hey, I'm not one
- 1:10:44Speaker 2: to judge. I think Martha Stewart's incredibly attractive.
- 1:10:47Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:10:48Speaker 2: She's 84. Yeah.
- 1:10:48Speaker 4: You like Martha Stewart moms.
- 1:10:51Speaker 2: I like. Yeah.
- 1:10:52Speaker 3: Am I?
- 1:10:52Speaker 2: Is that my. No, but I don't see that.
- 1:10:54Speaker 4: You don't, though.
- 1:10:54Speaker 2: I don't like a bunch of just older women who
- 1:10:56Speaker 2: happen to be great homemakers.
- 1:10:59Speaker 4: Just Martha.
- 1:10:59Speaker 2: Just Martha. And I don't know what it's her. It's
- 1:11:01Speaker 2: not my type, though. But I do get it. How
- 1:11:04Speaker 2: would you do? get new things that you, I don't know,
- 1:11:07Speaker 2: you start to change as a person. Now I'm attracted
- 1:11:09Speaker 2: to this.
- 1:11:10Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:11:11Speaker 2: It could be weirder. It could be.
- 1:11:13Speaker 4: For sure.
- 1:11:14Speaker 2: I don't know. Candace is acting like this is somewhat normal.
- 1:11:16Speaker 4: No, I'm just saying she could be, like, have a
- 1:11:18Speaker 4: type that... Guys that are in jail. Like, you know,
- 1:11:21Speaker 4: weird stuff like that.
- 1:11:22Speaker 2: Yeah, it's just Home Depot, dude.
- 1:11:23Speaker 4: You've seen the TLC shows.
- 1:11:24Speaker 11: Yeah, but I.
- 1:11:25Speaker 4: My weird obsession.
- 1:11:26Speaker 2: I guess my thing is I normally think... Well, I
- 1:11:29Speaker 2: don't know. I always thought the dad bod thing, you know,
- 1:11:31Speaker 2: there was research coming out that the dad bod is
- 1:11:34Speaker 2: actually more attractive than the guy that's in shape. I
- 1:11:35Speaker 2: always thought that was completely ridiculous. I'm like, girls... would
- 1:11:38Speaker 2: not prefer a dad bod over someone who's got a six-pack.
- 1:11:42Speaker 10: Well, it's intimate. Like, a six-pack is, like.
- 1:11:44Speaker 9: Get over yourself.
- 1:11:46Speaker 10: You know what I mean?
- 1:11:46Speaker 9: Like, it comes with a personality that you just don't need.
- 1:11:50Speaker 5: Like, there's just no point.
- 1:11:51Speaker 10: And, like, dad bod, I'm not talking about, like.
- 1:11:53Speaker 9: Completely, like, let himself go.
- 1:11:55Speaker 5: Like, you know, but just not– things are loose, you know.
- 1:12:00Speaker 2: Yeah. Whatever you're into, you're into. But you said something
- 1:12:07Speaker 2: that was very important to me. You said, I mean,
- 1:12:09Speaker 2: I don't know where this is going. And that was
- 1:12:11Speaker 2: my question. It's like, where is this going to go?
- 1:12:13Speaker 2: If you don't want to tell everybody about this guy
- 1:12:15Speaker 2: you're dating who's 54, Home Depot dad, I mean, do
- 1:12:18Speaker 2: you continue to date him? You don't even think about
- 1:12:20Speaker 2: the future, really. You're just doing what you do.
- 1:12:22Speaker 9: Yeah, I don't know. I mean, he's divorced. he has
- 1:12:25Speaker 9: no kids like it's not like I don't you know
- 1:12:28Speaker 9: what I mean like we're.
- 1:12:29Speaker 5: Not there's no pressure right now to figure anything out
- 1:12:31Speaker 5: you're not getting.
- 1:12:32Speaker 4: Into some messy past situation right.
- 1:12:35Speaker 9: Okay no no he has an ex but it seems
- 1:12:38Speaker 9: like it's fine yeah.
- 1:12:39Speaker 2: You think like one day you might bring him around
- 1:12:41Speaker 2: your friends or you don't.
- 1:12:43Speaker 9: Know I don't know.
- 1:12:44Speaker 3: I don't know.
- 1:12:44Speaker 9: It's weird. I'm trying to figure it out.
- 1:12:46Speaker 10: Like, I'm into it, but I don't know yet.
- 1:12:48Speaker 11: I don't know.
- 1:12:48Speaker 4: I don't like that.
- 1:12:49Speaker 2: What's your daddy going to say?
- 1:12:51Speaker 10: I mean, my dad will probably ask for help with something.
- 1:12:55Speaker 2: Your dad's like, now I got a new friend.
- 1:13:00Speaker 4: They might be the same age.
- 1:13:02Speaker 2: Son-in-law? Future son-in-law who's older than me? Whatever. Listen, we
- 1:13:09Speaker 2: in Dallas, we see this all the time, but there's
- 1:13:11Speaker 2: usually one other factor. Usually the guy is rich. Yeah.
- 1:13:14Speaker 2: Sugar daddy.
- 1:13:14Speaker 9: It's a, it's a guy who's like, he just pays.
- 1:13:18Speaker 4: His bills, you know? Well, good.
- 1:13:20Speaker 2: That is good.
- 1:13:21Speaker 4: So, Hey, like I dated a guy who.
- 1:13:23Speaker 9: Like were, you know, like was kind of, he wanted
- 1:13:25Speaker 9: to like play his guitar all the time and that
- 1:13:28Speaker 9: was not going to work for us.
- 1:13:29Speaker 2: And he didn't pay his bills. He did not.
- 1:13:32Speaker 9: He wanted me to pay his bills, so I don't
- 1:13:35Speaker 9: want to do that.
- 1:13:35Speaker 2: Did he have a six-pack?
- 1:13:38Speaker 10: He did go to the gym.
- 1:13:39Speaker 2: He did.
- 1:13:40Speaker 4: He did.
- 1:13:41Speaker 10: Protein was really important to him.
- 1:13:44Speaker 2: He was protein maxing. All right. Well, thank you for
- 1:13:48Speaker 2: the confession. I'm glad you got that off your chest.
- 1:13:50Speaker 2: Please keep us up to date on what happens with
- 1:13:52Speaker 2: Home Depot, Dad.
- 1:13:53Speaker 4: I will.
- 1:13:54Speaker 2: I will.
- 1:13:54Speaker 5: Okay.
- 1:13:55Speaker 1: All right.
- 1:13:55Speaker 2: Good luck.
- 1:13:56Speaker 10: Thank you.
- 1:13:57Speaker 2: Maybe it's real love. Maybe it's real love. And I
- 1:13:59Speaker 2: just don't know.
- 1:14:00Speaker 4: Maybe.
- 1:14:00Speaker 2: Maybe. You'll never you never know. I'd be shocked, but
- 1:14:03Speaker 2: it wouldn't surprise me at this point. But what happens
- 1:14:05Speaker 2: if you're 54 and 30? And then what happens when
- 1:14:09Speaker 2: she's 40? And, you know. Right.
- 1:14:12Speaker 4: She'll eventually be building stuff for him.
- 1:14:14Speaker 2: She'll need space.
- 1:14:15Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:14:16Speaker 2: She'll need space like Poo's ex. Oh, what are you saying?
- 1:14:18Speaker 2: I'm just saying either way. Mix 102.9. Good morning. It's
- 1:14:23Speaker 2: Billy the Kid. Candace Lopez is here. Producer Pooh is here.
- 1:14:26Speaker 2: More importantly, though, because this is perfect time, and I
- 1:14:28Speaker 2: feel like we have royalty here.
- 1:14:29Speaker 3: Right.
- 1:14:30Speaker 2: Play some royalty music, because he's going to help us
- 1:14:33Speaker 2: out with the situation I have to ask about Pooh
- 1:14:35Speaker 2: that Pooh did. We have a special guest in the studio,
- 1:14:38Speaker 2: Edgar Guevara, who is the CEO of M Group. If
- 1:14:41Speaker 2: you don't know, you know his restaurants. Good morning, Edgar.
- 1:14:44Speaker 2: How are you? Good morning.
- 1:14:45Speaker 8: Hey, thanks for having me.
- 1:14:46Speaker 2: I'm so glad you're here because, first of all, my
- 1:14:49Speaker 2: favorite restaurant in the world is Mico Sina. Oh, thank
- 1:14:52Speaker 2: you very much. It's incredible. It's been one of my
- 1:14:54Speaker 2: favorites for years. You have many other great restaurants, including
- 1:14:58Speaker 2: one that you just took over, which I'm excited about.
- 1:15:00Speaker 2: You could tell everybody.
- 1:15:01Speaker 8: Yeah, so we bought Razzoo's out of bankruptcy back at
- 1:15:04Speaker 8: the end of December.
- 1:15:05Speaker 2: So we're excited to have them as part of our organization. No,
- 1:15:09Speaker 2: we are too because you guys do incredible things. I
- 1:15:12Speaker 2: want to ask you something before we talk about anything
- 1:15:14Speaker 2: else because this is a personal thing. You're a businessman
- 1:15:17Speaker 2: and obviously a very successful one. M Crowd is an
- 1:15:21Speaker 2: amazing group. Our friend Poo over here went to lunch
- 1:15:25Speaker 2: with a big boss the other day. And as someone
- 1:15:27Speaker 2: who runs restaurants and a businessman, you can be the
- 1:15:30Speaker 2: judge of this. He went and he ordered steak and
- 1:15:33Speaker 2: lobster at a casual lunch with our big boss. Some
- 1:15:37Speaker 2: people said that that was tacky. Some people said, no, Pooh,
- 1:15:42Speaker 2: you do your thing. As a businessman, it's someone of
- 1:15:45Speaker 2: obviously high class. Wow.
- 1:15:49Speaker 4: He told him to order whatever he wanted.
- 1:15:52Speaker 2: Yeah, he did. He said, get what you want. This
- 1:15:54Speaker 2: is not Candace Court. Let Edgar be the judge. He's
- 1:15:57Speaker 2: a professional. There's a lot of big brands now. Was
- 1:16:00Speaker 2: this with Chris? No, it was with someone even, I think, well, yeah,
- 1:16:05Speaker 2: it would be someone higher than Chris. Higher than Chris, yeah.
- 1:16:07Speaker 2: And Chris is pretty high.
- 1:16:09Speaker 8: The guy probably had a bunch of cash, yeah. And
- 1:16:11Speaker 8: she probably had a martini with it.
- 1:16:13Speaker 2: Well, I did have an old-fashioned.
- 1:16:15Speaker 6: He told me they were good there, so I.
- 1:16:19Speaker 2: Said, why not? There you go. The only problem is
- 1:16:21Speaker 2: he didn't go to one of your restaurants, so now
- 1:16:22Speaker 2: he's in trouble.
- 1:16:23Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:16:26Speaker 2: No, thank you, actually, because I'm like, you know what?
- 1:16:28Speaker 2: If he's here, I want to ask Edgar this.
- 1:16:30Speaker 4: No, that makes sense. You're clear, Pooh.
- 1:16:32Speaker 2: Yeah, it's important. So how many free Mambo Taxis do
- 1:16:35Speaker 2: you get to drink?
- 1:16:38Speaker 8: Well, I've cut back. I've lost some weight, but typically
- 1:16:41Speaker 8: it's all that I can drink. I try to limit
- 1:16:44Speaker 8: it to a couple a week now.
- 1:16:45Speaker 2: Well, it's iconic, and we're excited about what you're going
- 1:16:48Speaker 2: to do with Razzoo's, which I want to know because
- 1:16:50Speaker 2: I think Razzoo's is one of these These brands that
- 1:16:53Speaker 2: is so, it's kind of legendary, but I think you'll
- 1:16:56Speaker 2: take it to another level, which I'm excited about for you.
- 1:16:58Speaker 8: Yeah, look, when we were looking at it, we really
- 1:17:00Speaker 8: loved the fact that it was 35 years old. Actually,
- 1:17:03Speaker 8: it opened the same month that Mi Casino opened. So
- 1:17:05Speaker 8: Mike Leatherwood and Mika opened the concepts in the same month.
- 1:17:08Speaker 8: I've been spending some time with Mike Leatherwood, who's the
- 1:17:10Speaker 8: founder of Razoo's, just to understand the history. And, you know,
- 1:17:16Speaker 8: it was such a great vibe, right? I mean, the
- 1:17:18Speaker 8: food was great. The service was great. It was a
- 1:17:19Speaker 8: place to hang out. and it kind of lost its way.
- 1:17:23Speaker 8: And so we've been working on is really bringing back
- 1:17:26Speaker 8: the quality of the food. So we're now just about 100% scratch.
- 1:17:30Speaker 8: We went out to Louisiana, went to visit 20 restaurants
- 1:17:35Speaker 8: in the state, ate a lot of etouffee, a lot
- 1:17:37Speaker 8: of gumbo, boudin, right? And now we've come back and
- 1:17:41Speaker 8: all our food's back from scratch, and we're really proud
- 1:17:44Speaker 8: of that.
- 1:17:44Speaker 2: We're also working on the drink program.
- 1:17:46Speaker 8: So we've upgraded the Hurricane to be real fruit juices,
- 1:17:49Speaker 8: real fruit, brought back a drink called the purple drank
- 1:17:53Speaker 8: from Louisiana.
- 1:17:54Speaker 2: Oh yeah. I know about that.
- 1:17:56Speaker 8: So, so really getting back to our roots, right. Louisiana inspired.
- 1:18:00Speaker 8: And so if we're, if we say we're going to
- 1:18:01Speaker 8: be Louisiana, let's be Louisiana.
- 1:18:03Speaker 2: Yeah. I see. That's great. Well, that's what, you know,
- 1:18:05Speaker 2: I mean, I know you'll do and take it to
- 1:18:07Speaker 2: another level, fresh ingredients and all that good stuff. And
- 1:18:09Speaker 2: we love supporting like a local group, like you guys
- 1:18:12Speaker 2: who've done incredible things and, and giving back a lot too.
- 1:18:15Speaker 2: And thank you because you do a lot of great stuff.
- 1:18:17Speaker 2: I know over the years with Miko Sina and, giving
- 1:18:19Speaker 2: back to the community. So thank you for that. Oh,
- 1:18:22Speaker 2: you're welcome. It's our pleasure.
- 1:18:23Speaker 8: You know, it's important that if you say you're going
- 1:18:25Speaker 8: to be a fabric of the community, that you do
- 1:18:27Speaker 8: things not only for your restaurants, but also for the community.
- 1:18:29Speaker 8: And so we're here and we're excited to do some things.
- 1:18:31Speaker 8: I know you've got some work that you do with
- 1:18:34Speaker 8: Stuff the Bus. And I know we're going to talk
- 1:18:36Speaker 8: later about how we can be supportive of that.
- 1:18:38Speaker 2: Yeah. Oh, that would be awesome if we could get
- 1:18:40Speaker 2: a Stuff a Bus drink. Yeah. Or wherever, which is
- 1:18:45Speaker 2: that's awesome. Well, you know what? Thank you, Edgar, for
- 1:18:47Speaker 2: stopping by. We're glad we got to meet you. And,
- 1:18:49Speaker 2: and even though I'm a little bit upset that you
- 1:18:51Speaker 2: didn't side with, um, Yes, I'm so happy. The people
- 1:18:54Speaker 2: saying poo is tacky.
- 1:18:56Speaker 8: No, look, I'm going to go out to lunch with
- 1:18:58Speaker 8: poo now wherever he goes.
- 1:19:01Speaker 2: We're eating and drinking good. Exactly. That's the way to
- 1:19:04Speaker 2: do it. That is the way to do it. Well,
- 1:19:06Speaker 2: thank you, Edgar. We appreciate it. Let us know if
- 1:19:08Speaker 2: you need anything from us and we'll talk about the drink.
- 1:19:11Speaker 2: And anything you need, you let us know because we'd
- 1:19:14Speaker 2: love to help out Razzus and any good cause that
- 1:19:16Speaker 2: M Crowd has going on for sure. Well, thanks for
- 1:19:18Speaker 2: having me. Absolutely. Thank you. Thank you to Aesthetic Society
- 1:19:21Speaker 2: as well. By the way, Edgar walks in and we're
- 1:19:23Speaker 2: getting IVs. I know. He's probably like, what is going
- 1:19:26Speaker 2: on here? How many mambos did they have last night?
- 1:19:29Speaker 2: Thank you to Aesthetic Society. Tomorrow, Corny Dog Walk. We
- 1:19:32Speaker 2: kick it off. We'll see you then. I'm excited. Until then, bye.
- 1:19:35Speaker 4: The new Mix 102.9.
- 1:19:39Speaker 2: Walking through Dallas.
