- 1:33Speaker 6: What's up?
- 1:33Speaker 11: We're welcome to Movie Meltdown's Attack of the Killers soundtrack.
- 1:36Speaker 11: I am Brian, and with me this week is.
- 1:39Speaker 12: Justin Kammerer, slash Angry Blue.
- 1:40Speaker 6: I was going to say, I didn't know what street
- 1:42Speaker 6: name you wanted to go with.
- 1:44Speaker 12: I usually don't know either.
- 1:45Speaker 11: So anyway, we're coming to you live via digital recording
- 1:48Speaker 11: from Fourcastle Festival.
- 1:49Speaker 9: We were playing a festival.
- 1:51Speaker 2: Jazz Blues Festival. Where was that? Blues Jazz, really. Blues
- 1:54Speaker 2: Jazz Festival. It was in the Isle of Lucy. The
- 1:57Speaker 2: Isle of Lucy. Isle of Lucy. Jazz Blues Festival.
- 2:00Speaker 6: You are an artist. A pretty exceptional artist, I would say.
- 2:04Speaker 11: And one we've been trying to scam into doing some
- 2:07Speaker 11: movie meltdown artwork.
- 2:08Speaker 6: So that's still in the works, though.
- 2:10Speaker 3: Indeed.
- 2:11Speaker 13: I have.
- 2:12Speaker 11: Since the last one, I've come up with another idea
- 2:14Speaker 11: that I think would be awesome for you. So I'm
- 2:16Speaker 11: backstocking them now. Too many awesome projects for you. But
- 2:21Speaker 11: in addition to that potential item, you've also done this
- 2:25Speaker 11: year's forecastle post.
- 2:27Speaker 12: Yes, it was super flattering that they asked me. And
- 2:30Speaker 12: I kind of put it together almost very last minute
- 2:33Speaker 12: because I had a project that was driving me crazy
- 2:37Speaker 12: for about five weeks. and I'll be able to show
- 2:40Speaker 12: that next weekend at San Diego Comic-Con.
- 2:43Speaker 3: Nice.
- 2:44Speaker 12: Very excited about it, and I was really glad I
- 2:46Speaker 12: was able to kick this out for them here, and
- 2:48Speaker 12: I think I will be able to do it next
- 2:51Speaker 12: year as well.
- 2:52Speaker 2: Very cool.
- 2:53Speaker 11: How much direction were they given? It's usually a nautical theme,
- 2:57Speaker 11: so was that all they gave you?
- 2:58Speaker 2: That was it.
- 2:59Speaker 12: I know the direction. I've been excited about Four Castles
- 3:03Speaker 12: since it was in Tyler Park.
- 3:04Speaker 6: Tyler Park, when I was going to it.
- 3:06Speaker 12: And there were like four people there.
- 3:08Speaker 11: Yeah, I think I've said before, the music of that
- 3:10Speaker 11: one was like one guy with an acoustic guitar by
- 3:12Speaker 11: that little tunnel that runs in between.
- 3:14Speaker 6: Yes, definitely.
- 3:15Speaker 11: And that was it, and there was some art hanging
- 3:17Speaker 11: up in the park, and that was pretty much it.
- 3:18Speaker 6: So it's come quite a ways since then.
- 3:20Speaker 12: Oh, definitely. I think the first night here was... The
- 3:24Speaker 12: first show had 200 people, and then the first night
- 3:26Speaker 12: here had 30,000 people.
- 3:28Speaker 2: A little bit of a jump.
- 3:30Speaker 12: So that's like seven more people, because I'm really good
- 3:33Speaker 12: with math.
- 3:33Speaker 6: That was the Friday night, too. So yeah, what was
- 3:35Speaker 6: last night?
- 3:35Speaker 12: Yeah, I don't even know.
- 3:37Speaker 6: That had to be amazing, because.
- 3:39Speaker 11: I was crammed in the middle of the Jack White
- 3:41Speaker 11: crowd there, and it was out of control. So, I guess,
- 3:46Speaker 11: other than the previously mentioned, do you have any big
- 3:49Speaker 11: projects you're working on right now?
- 3:51Speaker 12: Um, I've got some goofy stuff that I'm doing for
- 3:53Speaker 12: a couple of clients like Facebook and Microsoft that somehow
- 3:56Speaker 12: mistakenly found me and then now I get to make
- 3:58Speaker 12: terrible things for them.
- 3:59Speaker 6: Yeah, at this point, cash in on that.
- 4:01Speaker 12: Oh, definitely.
- 4:02Speaker 11: I don't trust them, but I'll take their money.
- 4:05Speaker 6: Always.
- 4:06Speaker 12: Um, and then next week I think I get to
- 4:08Speaker 12: show at Comic-Con and then I'm going to try to
- 4:10Speaker 12: take a few weeks off and not take on any
- 4:13Speaker 12: new jobs and just, uh, I've got a queue of
- 4:16Speaker 12: like 15 things I want to do at my print shop. Oh, yeah.
- 4:19Speaker 12: And I would like to draw something new stuff for
- 4:22Speaker 12: me that's not for a client. But I don't know
- 4:25Speaker 12: what that feels like anymore.
- 4:27Speaker 6: Yeah, really. After a while, I guess you lose control
- 4:30Speaker 6: of that.
- 4:30Speaker 12: The past several weeks have been insane.
- 4:34Speaker 1: Good morning, everyone!
- 4:35Speaker 14: It is 7 o'clock here in Canyonland, USA.
- 4:42Speaker 2: And this morning, on the boulder, we have a very
- 4:46Speaker 2: special guest.
- 4:48Speaker 6: Look, we have a special guest. Tell them who we are.
- 4:51Speaker 15: Hi, I'm Miss Happy Pink. I'm terrified to be on
- 4:53Speaker 15: the air.
- 4:54Speaker 2: Woo!
- 4:56Speaker 6: Have you enjoyed this weekend?
- 4:57Speaker 15: Yeah, it's been.
- 4:58Speaker 6: A lot of fun.
- 4:59Speaker 15: A lot of work, but a lot of fun.
- 5:02Speaker 11: This episode, we're kind of doing a crossover with movies
- 5:06Speaker 11: and music since we're at the festival here. So, do
- 5:10Speaker 11: you have a song worked into a movie that you're
- 5:12Speaker 11: a big fan of?
- 5:14Speaker 16: I've got to admit, this is probably like crazy nerdy,
- 5:17Speaker 16: but I totally love the soundtrack to Juno.
- 5:22Speaker 2: Nice. All right.
- 5:24Speaker 6: It got a lot of love. It got a weird backlash,
- 5:27Speaker 6: but I think people are coming back around to it now.
- 5:30Speaker 16: And then Scott Pilgrim, another soundtrack that I pretty much
- 5:36Speaker 16: love almost every song on.
- 5:38Speaker 6: First up, which one on Juno? What's your favorite one
- 5:41Speaker 6: on Juno?
- 5:43Speaker 15: I don't know if I have a favorite one.
- 5:46Speaker 6: Pick a random one. Oh, I don't know.
- 5:49Speaker 15: I'm not good at this.
- 5:51Speaker 16: I usually listen to things while I'm working or while
- 5:54Speaker 16: I'm printing or while I'm doing something.
- 5:56Speaker 15: So it's not like I pick one song.
- 5:58Speaker 16: It's just a soundtrack or a album or a musician
- 6:04Speaker 16: because I don't have the time to kind of walk.
- 6:07Speaker 15: I should probably create playlists. That would be the smart thing.
- 6:11Speaker 6: I kind of like it when it's random.
- 6:13Speaker 11: I like just sort of either going with the album
- 6:15Speaker 11: as a whole or just throwing it on the mixed
- 6:18Speaker 11: up option there.
- 6:20Speaker 6: So that's what we'll do now. We'll just randomly pick
- 6:22Speaker 6: a song from the Juno Sound.
- 6:23Speaker 17: If I was a flower growing wild and free All
- 6:25Speaker 17: I'd want is you to be my sweet honeybee And
- 6:28Speaker 17: if I was a tree growing tall and green All
- 6:31Speaker 17: I'd want is you to shade me and be my leaves.
- 6:34Speaker 9: Guitar solo.
- 6:48Speaker 17: If I was a flower growing wild and free All
- 6:51Speaker 17: I'd want is you to be my sweet honeybee And
- 6:53Speaker 17: if I was a tree growing tall and green All
- 6:56Speaker 17: I'd want is you to shade me and be my
- 6:58Speaker 17: leaves All I want is you, will you be my
- 7:03Speaker 17: bride Take me by the hand and stand by my
- 7:05Speaker 17: side All I want is you, will you stay with
- 7:08Speaker 17: me Hold me in your arms and sway me like
- 7:11Speaker 17: the sea.
- 7:20Speaker 2: Thank you.
- 7:26Speaker 17: If you were a river and the mountains tall, the
- 7:29Speaker 17: rumble of your water would be my call. If you
- 7:32Speaker 17: were the winter, I know I'd be the snow, just
- 7:34Speaker 17: as long as you were with me when the cold
- 7:36Speaker 17: winds blow. All I want is you, will you be
- 7:38Speaker 17: my bride?
- 7:39Speaker 6: Take me by the.
- 7:40Speaker 17: Hand and stand by my side. All I want is you,
- 7:43Speaker 17: will you stay with me? Hold me in your arms
- 7:46Speaker 17: and sway me like the sea. If you were a wink,
- 7:51Speaker 17: I'd be a nod. If you were a seed, well,
- 7:53Speaker 17: I'd be a pod. If you were a floor, I'd
- 7:56Speaker 17: want to be the rug. And if you were a kiss,
- 7:58Speaker 17: I'd know I'd be a hug. All I want is you,
- 8:01Speaker 17: you'd be my bride. Take me by the hand and
- 8:04Speaker 17: stand by my side. All I want is you, you
- 8:06Speaker 17: stay with me. Hold me in your arms and sway
- 8:09Speaker 17: me like the sea. If you were the wood, I'd
- 8:14Speaker 17: be the fire. If you were the love, I'd.
- 8:16Speaker 18: Be the desire.
- 8:17Speaker 6: If you were a castle, I'd.
- 8:19Speaker 18: Be your moat.
- 8:20Speaker 17: And if you were an ocean, I'd learn to float.
- 8:23Speaker 6: All I want is you.
- 8:24Speaker 17: Will you be my bride?
- 8:26Speaker 18: Take me by the.
- 8:26Speaker 17: Hand and stand by my side.
- 8:28Speaker 18: All I want is you.
- 8:29Speaker 6: Will you stay with me?
- 8:31Speaker 17: Hold me in your arms and sway me like the sea.
- 8:51Speaker 11: And then back to, you know, Scott Pilgrim.
- 8:54Speaker 6: So, Scott Pilgrim, you've got the tie-in. It's all back. So,
- 8:58Speaker 6: what's your favorite Scott Pilgrim? See, that's another one. I
- 9:01Speaker 6: can't pick.
- 9:01Speaker 15: I don't have favorites. I'm, like, ultimately indecisive. I like
- 9:06Speaker 15: all of the things.
- 9:07Speaker 19: Everything.
- 9:08Speaker 6: You just love Sex Bob-Omb. We are Sex Bob-Omb, and we're.
- 9:11Speaker 20: Here to make you think about death and get sad
- 9:13Speaker 20: and stuff!
- 9:19Speaker 21: I hear the voices, enemy voices The tremble of cool,
- 9:24Speaker 21: the feminine of the soul Reaching.
- 9:26Speaker 10: My threshold, standing picture to the blind My.
- 9:32Speaker 21: Body's stupid, stereo putrid Spilling out music in the road
- 9:37Speaker 21: to wish Reaching my.
- 9:39Speaker 4: Threshold, standing picture to the blind My threshold, my threshold.
- 9:57Speaker 21: I'm hearing voices, even in my tears. white tears, the
- 10:02Speaker 21: cream of a cream, the feeling.
- 10:04Speaker 18: In a vision.
- 10:05Speaker 21: I'll meet you on a threshold, stand up and shoot
- 10:11Speaker 21: till I'm blind.
- 10:11Speaker 4: My threshold. I'll explode. I'll meet you on a threshold.
- 10:22Speaker 6: My threshold.
- 10:31Speaker 9: Bye.
- 10:32Speaker 7: Bye.
- 10:55Speaker 15: It's like asking me to pick my favorite dessert. It's
- 10:57Speaker 15: just not possible. I like all of the.
- 11:00Speaker 6: Cram them all into one big pile. Yes, exactly.
- 11:03Speaker 2: I understand.
- 11:05Speaker 6: She's picking all kinds of crazy things over here.
- 11:08Speaker 15: Angry Blue is a little bit different. When he's working,
- 11:10Speaker 15: he is a little more specific with his music.
- 11:13Speaker 2: Very.
- 11:14Speaker 12: Very specific.
- 11:15Speaker 4: Obnoxiously.
- 11:16Speaker 15: It's obnoxiously specific.
- 11:17Speaker 12: But now I'm kind of addicted to podcasts, really. It's
- 11:20Speaker 12: really sad. I'm like, I'm not getting peripheral information at
- 11:24Speaker 12: all times.
- 11:26Speaker 11: It does take over your life. That's how I ended
- 11:28Speaker 11: up here. In a very short amount of time, I
- 11:30Speaker 11: went from kind of listening to a few to listening
- 11:33Speaker 11: to a ton of them and then having one. So
- 11:36Speaker 11: it takes over your life.
- 11:37Speaker 12: So you're kind of stuck at a party that you
- 11:39Speaker 12: want to leave, but you just can't.
- 11:41Speaker 11: Well, my sad thing is like even here, I should
- 11:43Speaker 11: be out there listening to Ray LaMontagne, which you can
- 11:47Speaker 11: probably hear in the background, but I'm sitting there going,
- 11:49Speaker 11: we really got to set up the whole rest of
- 11:51Speaker 11: this part here and I want to get this half.
- 11:53Speaker 6: Of the show.
- 11:54Speaker 11: So I'm I'm, like, orchestrating the way that the rest
- 11:57Speaker 11: of the show needs to go while I should probably
- 11:59Speaker 11: be paying attention to Ray out there.
- 12:01Speaker 12: Well, you can definitely take a break from staying in
- 12:04Speaker 12: my skull dungeon here at Forecastle in the American Poster
- 12:07Speaker 12: Institute section.
- 12:09Speaker 6: This is the best place to be. What are you
- 12:10Speaker 6: talking about? I love your creepy style.
- 12:13Speaker 12: Thank you. Someone is dancing with cheesecakes.
- 12:18Speaker 6: Well, that seems fitting.
- 12:19Speaker 11: She did just profess her love for sugar, so I
- 12:21Speaker 11: guess dancing for... Cheesecake action is the way to go.
- 12:26Speaker 11: So then we'll throw that question to you. We're doing
- 12:29Speaker 11: music that has worked its way into movies. What is
- 12:32Speaker 11: one of your favorites that is sort of a soundtrack
- 12:35Speaker 11: kind of song?
- 12:36Speaker 12: Oh, I can't do songs. I can do soundtracks, though.
- 12:40Speaker 12: I've been staring at this Natural Born Killers poster all weekend,
- 12:43Speaker 12: and the way that soundtrack bleeds into that movie, it's
- 12:48Speaker 12: like another character in it.
- 12:49Speaker 6: It definitely is.
- 12:50Speaker 12: Anytime that soundtracks can be another character in a television
- 12:54Speaker 12: show that completely changes the context, or if you just
- 12:58Speaker 12: know the intention of the song, like if you recognize
- 13:01Speaker 12: a song and know that it's a ridiculously clever moment
- 13:04Speaker 12: or a use of that, I love that.
- 13:06Speaker 11: We can go one way or the other. We can
- 13:08Speaker 11: go the slow version. We can go like Cowboy Junkies.
- 13:12Speaker 11: We can go Patti Smith, the much more hardcore, angry version.
- 13:18Speaker 6: I don't know. Which way do you want to lean
- 13:19Speaker 6: on this one? It depends on the day. I mean,
- 13:22Speaker 6: right now we're in the middle.
- 13:22Speaker 12: I'll say angry because my name's Angry Blue.
- 13:24Speaker 6: That's true. That's your tie-in.
- 13:25Speaker 12: I'm not even allowed to have my own opinion.
- 13:27Speaker 6: I'll tell you the name of the song, but I'm
- 13:29Speaker 6: not allowed to say it.
- 13:50Speaker 22: And I have no guilt as to pleasure as to
- 13:52Speaker 22: the nerves under your skin.
- 13:54Speaker 23: And now I trade the.
- 13:55Speaker 4: Lairs for the scroll of ancient redness. We worship the floor,
- 13:59Speaker 4: the belly, the belly, the mole on the belly of.
- 14:03Speaker 15: An exquisite whore.
- 14:04Speaker 24: You spare the child and.
- 14:06Speaker 18: Spoil the ride.
- 14:07Speaker 6: I have not stolen.
- 14:21Speaker 4: Baby, baby, baby, what's a rock and roll nigga?
- 14:51Speaker 6: She baby was a whore.
- 14:52Speaker 18: You know she got big.
- 14:54Speaker 6: Well, she's gonna get big ass.
- 14:56Speaker 4: Baby got her hand, got.
- 14:57Speaker 18: Her finger on the trigger. Baby, baby, baby, it's the
- 15:00Speaker 18: rock and roll.
- 15:15Speaker 25: Those who have suffered understand suffering and thereby extend their hand.
- 15:19Speaker 25: The stone that brings harm also makes further.
- 15:22Speaker 6: Blessed is the grass and earth and.
- 15:27Speaker 18: The tree of thorn and light. I was lost in
- 15:30Speaker 18: the valley of pleasure.
- 15:32Speaker 6: I was lost in the inner sea.
- 15:34Speaker 26: I was lost in that moment.
- 15:45Speaker 3: I'm the dot, and the cost was to be a
- 16:02Speaker 3: doctor's aide Chicken and juice, I was a nigger Jesus
- 16:07Speaker 3: Christ and Grandma too Jackson.
- 16:09Speaker 4: Pollock, I was a nigger Nigger, nigger, nigger, nigger, nigger, nigger, nigger.
- 17:11Speaker 8: Normally i freeze up with microphones it's good i keep
- 17:15Speaker 8: them as ridiculously conversational as possible as i think you've
- 17:19Speaker 8: heard once or twice yes yes that's pretty much all
- 17:21Speaker 8: we do is ramble i think it works better though yeah.
- 17:25Speaker 12: If there's like some fun and actual conversation and uh
- 17:27Speaker 12: chemistry injected into it it works so much better.
- 17:30Speaker 11: I mean there's i don't know i listen to ones
- 17:32Speaker 11: that are like super hardcore interviews and like I don't know.
- 17:37Speaker 6: They're so weird and awkward. And not that I'm not
- 17:39Speaker 6: weird and awkward. I certainly am. But that needs to
- 17:42Speaker 6: come through.
- 17:43Speaker 12: The sincerity of the weird and awkward as opposed to
- 17:46Speaker 12: just having to be that way.
- 17:47Speaker 6: That is who I am. So I'm fine. I'm not
- 17:49Speaker 6: going to pretend to be anything else.
- 17:51Speaker 11: Speaking of my weird and awkward conversations, we're going to go.
- 17:56Speaker 11: I'm going to go pick up Christian here in a minute.
- 17:58Speaker 6: Some of you may remember her from previous episodes.
- 18:00Speaker 11: And we're going to go talk to the guys from Houndmouth.
- 18:05Speaker 2: Awesome.
- 18:05Speaker 12: We'll enjoy it. Have a good night.
- 18:07Speaker 6: I think that's the plan for now. In the meantime,
- 18:09Speaker 6: where should they find you?
- 18:10Speaker 12: You can find me at AngryBlue.com. And if you want
- 18:14Speaker 12: to tune in next weekend during San Diego Comic-Con, I
- 18:17Speaker 12: should be able to show the ridiculous thing that I've
- 18:19Speaker 12: been working on for about a month and a half.
- 18:21Speaker 6: Nice. What about that other character over there?
- 18:25Speaker 12: And you can find Ms. Happy Pink at MsHappyPink.com. Unfortunately,
- 18:32Speaker 12: that is the soundtrack of the website at all times.
- 18:39Speaker 11: Oh, and if nothing else, I guess we want to
- 18:40Speaker 11: also thank Fourcastle for letting us loiter around here and.
- 18:44Speaker 6: For you to sell posters, which you've done really well
- 18:46Speaker 6: this weekend.
- 18:47Speaker 12: Definitely. And we'll talk about future stuff.
- 18:49Speaker 2: Definitely.
- 18:49Speaker 12: Very soon.
- 18:50Speaker 6: So go to fourcastlefest.com and find out more for next year,
- 18:54Speaker 6: which you will be part of.

- 19:52Speaker 3: Clegg from the Halloween 2 movie, and you are listening
- 19:55Speaker 3: to Movie Meltdown.
- 19:58Speaker 20: All right, so we're here with the guys from Houndmouth.
- 20:02Speaker 6: I guess go ahead and introduce yourselves.
- 20:04Speaker 18: I'm Zach.
- 20:05Speaker 25: And I'm Shane.
- 20:06Speaker 6: What are your roles in the band?
- 20:19Speaker 2: I play bass, and I play drums.
- 20:22Speaker 4: All right.
- 20:23Speaker 6: You guys are, was everybody from New Albany?
- 20:27Speaker 25: I'm from Clarksville, which is like a town over. Yeah, yeah,
- 20:30Speaker 25: same five-mile radius.
- 20:31Speaker 6: Yeah, which for those of you not from.
- 20:34Speaker 11: This area, it's maybe a ten-minute drive from Louisville, but
- 20:38Speaker 11: for some reason.
- 20:39Speaker 6: We're at war with each other.
- 20:40Speaker 25: Right, right, yeah.
- 20:41Speaker 11: Louisville won't acknowledge New Albany, and New Albany hates Louisville.
- 20:45Speaker 6: I don't understand, because we're all kind of the same thing.
- 20:47Speaker 2: Right, right.
- 20:48Speaker 25: That's why we did the Boomtown thing a couple, was
- 20:50Speaker 25: it last month?
- 20:51Speaker 2: The Boomtown? Yeah.
- 20:52Speaker 25: We tried to get people from Louisville over to Indiana
- 20:56Speaker 25: to see that it was actually not the hellish place
- 20:58Speaker 25: they think it might be.
- 21:01Speaker 11: Yeah, half of the people on the show are from Indiana,
- 21:04Speaker 11: so we've got a good mixture.
- 21:05Speaker 2: Oh, cool, cool.
- 21:06Speaker 6: We straddle both sides of the river, so it's okay.
- 21:08Speaker 3: Nice.
- 21:10Speaker 11: So I guess, how did you get together as a band?
- 21:13Speaker 11: I guess that's the usual question for you guys, I'm assuming.
- 21:16Speaker 19: Well, I was living in New York at a job
- 21:21Speaker 19: and got fired and moved back home and Matt and I,
- 21:26Speaker 19: the guitarist, we started jamming together, just the two of
- 21:30Speaker 19: us and.
- 21:32Speaker 2: So we were thinking we should.
- 21:34Speaker 19: Get some more people in it and Zach and Matt
- 21:37Speaker 19: had played in cover bands for years and Katie and
- 21:41Speaker 19: Matt had done an acoustic thing for a few years,
- 21:44Speaker 19: and those have all kind of disbanded, so we all
- 21:47Speaker 19: kind of just joined forces.
- 21:48Speaker 6: Came together.
- 21:49Speaker 19: Yeah, very unintentionally, because I wasn't even really kind of
- 21:54Speaker 19: part of that circle. I know Zach and I and
- 21:59Speaker 19: Matt and I used to play poker in high school,
- 22:01Speaker 19: but just through mutual friends, we didn't really hang out.
- 22:05Speaker 25: It was usually a hatred for Shane because he always
- 22:07Speaker 25: took my money.
- 22:08Speaker 2: Oh, yeah.
- 22:10Speaker 6: That still holds to this day. Yeah, yeah.
- 22:12Speaker 25: We gamble away our PDs like we don't need to
- 22:15Speaker 25: eat that day or something.
- 22:16Speaker 2: You still owe me ten.
- 22:17Speaker 13: Yeah.
- 22:18Speaker 2: Yeah, I'm sure of it.
- 22:21Speaker 11: Well, I guess, what were your influences musically at that point?
- 22:25Speaker 6: Or growing up, I guess?
- 22:28Speaker 19: Well, I know all of our parents were, you know,
- 22:31Speaker 19: kind of in that 70s culture, so, you know, Kind
- 22:35Speaker 19: of the golden era of rock and roll. All of us,
- 22:37Speaker 19: you know, like the Rolling Stones and the band. Katie's
- 22:41Speaker 19: really big on some Motown. And I like some old country.
- 22:48Speaker 19: It's kind of a mutt of all the things.
- 22:50Speaker 25: Yeah, my dad was really heavy into, like, Parliament and
- 22:53Speaker 25: Sugar Hill Gang and all the funkier stuff. He used
- 22:56Speaker 25: to speed skate. He'd go down to Florida, and he's
- 23:01Speaker 25: actually in competitions to speed skate down there. He called
- 23:03Speaker 25: it boogie skating when they would play the funky records
- 23:06Speaker 25: and uh i guess do the mashed potato and shit
- 23:09Speaker 25: i don't know it's not enough boogie skating i don't
- 23:11Speaker 25: know i agree we need to bring that back.
- 23:14Speaker 2: I agree yeah like speed skating like ice.
- 23:17Speaker 25: No like speed skating four wheels and just as fast
- 23:21Speaker 25: as you can go around the track.
- 23:22Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 23:23Speaker 6: Cool guys at the park with the sweat bands.
- 23:25Speaker 2: Yeah. Right. Yeah.
- 23:26Speaker 25: He's got a picture of him in the short shorts
- 23:29Speaker 25: from when, from when he used to live in Florida
- 23:30Speaker 25: and he's tan as fuck and he's got his skates
- 23:33Speaker 25: on and he still has those beat ass old skates.
- 23:35Speaker 2: That's amazing.
- 23:37Speaker 6: One day we'll pass them on to you. One day.
- 23:39Speaker 2: Yeah. One day.
- 23:40Speaker 6: I can't wait. You have to start practicing.
- 23:42Speaker 7: Right.
- 23:42Speaker 25: I don't know. I just put mops on my feet
- 23:44Speaker 25: at home and start going around the kitchen, I guess.
- 23:46Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 23:47Speaker 19: There's this guy and, uh, I went to Indiana State
- 23:49Speaker 19: for a year, and there was this guy that lived
- 23:51Speaker 19: on my floor that had those, and he could do
- 23:53Speaker 19: all the moves, all just stationary.
- 23:55Speaker 2: Oh, really? All the, you know, kind of like the
- 23:57Speaker 2: sea walk kind of thing.
- 23:58Speaker 25: It's like break dancing almost.
- 24:00Speaker 2: Yeah, exactly.
- 24:01Speaker 6: It's an art form. It's a smooth, lost art form.
- 24:05Speaker 19: And we'd always, we'd go get drunk and go knock
- 24:07Speaker 19: on his door.
- 24:07Speaker 2: He wasn't very social, and we'd be like, hey, go
- 24:10Speaker 2: show off.
- 24:11Speaker 6: So just come out here and do the moves.
- 24:13Speaker 27: Well, yeah, because he was in his dorm room practicing
- 24:15Speaker 27: his moves, you know, for such an occasion.
- 24:17Speaker 20: Yeah.
- 24:17Speaker 2: It's like Roller Girl and Dirk Diggler. Boogie Nights.
- 24:23Speaker 6: She had other special skills too.
- 24:26Speaker 2: I think she had a few others that we won't mention.
- 24:28Speaker 6: She was very gifted.
- 24:32Speaker 14: Are you going to take your skates off?
- 24:33Speaker 28: I don't take my skates off.
- 24:35Speaker 11: As the guest, we'll play some of your stuff. Most
- 24:38Speaker 11: of our listeners are pretty with it. I'm sure they're
- 24:40Speaker 11: familiar with it. But if not, what's a good intro
- 24:42Speaker 11: for the band for you guys? What's a good song
- 24:44Speaker 11: to go with?
- 24:45Speaker 6: What's a good song?
- 24:47Speaker 25: Penitentiary, actually the only album we have out right now,
- 24:52Speaker 25: seems to be our single, if you will.
- 24:55Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 24:55Speaker 25: Yeah, I would say that's a good starting point.
- 24:58Speaker 2: Kind of paints a picture for what we kind of.
- 25:13Speaker 5: Do, I guess.
- 25:13Speaker 14: Hit a batch in Frisco couldn't score a job so
- 25:21Speaker 14: I did the next best thing and I learned how
- 25:26Speaker 14: to rock I took that trade to Houston but.
- 25:31Speaker 4: I couldn't get away.
- 25:35Speaker 14: From the five and dime about the time the constable
- 25:40Speaker 14: would say.
- 25:41Speaker 4: Music Playing the stud in the evening On a solitary.
- 26:04Speaker 14: Night Leone has the cigarettes and Capone has got the
- 26:25Speaker 14: light Now I'm shifting squares with a man from Arkansas
- 26:35Speaker 14: He took my rook, oh lord, my king's about to.
- 26:40Speaker 4: Fall guitar solo Come on now, to the penitentiary Oh mother,
- 26:54Speaker 4: the law of the king is crashing down on me
- 27:04Speaker 4: Yoo hoo hoo Yoo hoo hoo Yoo hoo hoo.
- 27:23Speaker 13: Thank you.
- 27:50Speaker 22: I'm calling from a payphone Down around Lawrence Bend I
- 27:57Speaker 22: got me a parting son Gonna do it all.
- 28:02Speaker 6: Again Come on now.
- 28:05Speaker 4: To the penitentiary Old mama, the lock came Crashing down
- 28:14Speaker 4: on me.
- 28:22Speaker 6: You guys have gotten.
- 28:52Speaker 6: Pretty big in the last few years.
- 28:53Speaker 11: What kind of a turnaround was that?
- 28:55Speaker 6: Because, I mean, how many.
- 28:56Speaker 11: It's only been, what, three or four years since you
- 28:58Speaker 11: were just here probably working a job?
- 29:01Speaker 25: Yeah, well, it's been a little less than three years
- 29:03Speaker 25: that we've been together. And South by Southwest was the
- 29:06Speaker 25: big turnaround for us. We went down there and got
- 29:08Speaker 25: very fortunate, met the right people and said the right things,
- 29:11Speaker 25: I guess. And things just started happening for us.
- 29:15Speaker 2: It was great.
- 29:16Speaker 25: And I wish that Chris was still here because he's...
- 29:19Speaker 25: a big reason that we did anything at all. We
- 29:22Speaker 25: were just practicing at Shane's place one day, and he said,
- 29:25Speaker 25: you guys should put some of this stuff on the internet.
- 29:28Speaker 25: And so we started to, and then we started to
- 29:29Speaker 25: put everything on the internet. And he's like, okay, okay,
- 29:31Speaker 25: that's enough. That's enough free shit on the internet. yeah
- 29:34Speaker 25: yeah and so uh there he is right now there
- 29:37Speaker 25: he is right speak of the devil and he shall
- 29:39Speaker 25: appear talking.
- 29:40Speaker 19: About when you started uh telling us sort of what
- 29:43Speaker 19: to do when we were just putting songs up on
- 29:46Speaker 19: on soundcloud yeah.
- 29:47Speaker 29: Just a little you know just a little help here
- 29:49Speaker 29: and there um snowballed obviously but turned into a great
- 29:54Speaker 29: role i think.
- 29:55Speaker 11: Yeah yeah I mean, there's so many bands out there,
- 29:58Speaker 11: and there are ones that you see that are really impressive,
- 30:01Speaker 11: and they just never make it.
- 30:02Speaker 6: I don't know, what do you think is that dividing line?
- 30:05Speaker 11: Is it just meeting the right people?
- 30:07Speaker 2: It's luck.
- 30:08Speaker 6: It's complete luck.
- 30:10Speaker 19: Luck and, you know, we practice, I don't even know
- 30:14Speaker 19: how many hours a day. And, you know, so, I mean, yeah,
- 30:18Speaker 19: there could be, and there definitely are way better musicians
- 30:21Speaker 19: and bands than us, but, you know, it's just timing matters.
- 30:25Speaker 2: And we got lucky. I laugh about it every day.
- 30:29Speaker 2: It still cracks me up.
- 30:30Speaker 11: You guys are pretty damn good. And you've got a
- 30:32Speaker 11: pretty good run these last couple of years as far as.
- 30:36Speaker 6: You went on Conan and Letterman.
- 30:38Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah.
- 30:38Speaker 11: Letterman is like my idol because obviously the weird... guys
- 30:43Speaker 11: host their own show. So he's, you know, I have
- 30:44Speaker 11: to idolize him.
- 30:45Speaker 6: It gives me hope.
- 30:46Speaker 27: Well, and he is a Hoosier, so.
- 30:47Speaker 19: Oh, yeah.
- 30:48Speaker 2: Well, you know, it's funny.
- 30:49Speaker 6: Some people claim that.
- 30:50Speaker 25: He was kind of rude to us, though.
- 30:52Speaker 19: Was he?
- 30:52Speaker 6: That's what I was going to ask. What were your experiences?
- 30:53Speaker 25: He was, well, I guess kind of isn't even really
- 30:57Speaker 25: the way to go. He was very rude to us.
- 30:59Speaker 25: He said maybe two words to us. Well, we did
- 31:01Speaker 25: Conan first, and Conan was very, like, he came to
- 31:04Speaker 25: watch a sound check, and he was involved, and all this.
- 31:07Speaker 6: Conan's pretty personable.
- 31:08Speaker 25: Exactly, yeah. And then we go on Letterman, and we
- 31:11Speaker 25: can't even speak to him.
- 31:13Speaker 6: Again, this doesn't surprise me. That's kind of the way
- 31:16Speaker 6: he seems to be.
- 31:16Speaker 25: It probably leads back to his eccentric personality.
- 31:23Speaker 6: Is that it?
- 31:24Speaker 11: Again, I think that it's just one of those weird
- 31:27Speaker 11: dynamics that sometimes they work so well when the camera's on,
- 31:30Speaker 11: and as soon as they're in their spot, and then
- 31:33Speaker 11: once you hit them in their personal life, or the
- 31:35Speaker 11: other side of the camera, they're just.
- 31:37Speaker 2: A whole different person.
- 31:38Speaker 25: Well, I mean, don't get me wrong, it was a
- 31:39Speaker 25: lot of fun still. We're very fortunate to have done it, but.
- 31:42Speaker 6: What's that theater, as far as playing in that theater like?
- 31:46Speaker 2: Oh, man.
- 31:46Speaker 25: Freezing cold.
- 31:47Speaker 2: Yeah, seriously.
- 31:48Speaker 6: That's the running joke on that show.
- 31:49Speaker 25: Yeah, they keep it like 42. They're like, it's going
- 31:52Speaker 25: to be cold. Get your shit together and dress warm. Yeah,
- 31:56Speaker 25: it was crazy.
- 31:57Speaker 19: Zach and I run hot, and Matt and Katie run cold.
- 32:01Speaker 19: So there's always this battle war.
- 32:03Speaker 2: Between the air conditioning and the van.
- 32:05Speaker 25: And Katie usually sits up front and makes it a
- 32:08Speaker 25: cool 86 degrees.
- 32:10Speaker 6: Sweet lord.
- 32:11Speaker 2: And we're all just sweating. Our proverbial balls off. Proverbial.
- 32:17Speaker 15: Proverbial.
- 32:17Speaker 2: You have nice proverbial balls.
- 32:19Speaker 6: A nickel for every time I.
- 32:25Speaker 19: Look who I see over here. JK and the mayor
- 32:29Speaker 19: just walking by.
- 32:30Speaker 2: Casually. Casually.
- 32:31Speaker 6: Just cruising the grassy knoll.
- 32:34Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 32:35Speaker 19: That's not a good thing for someone in that kind
- 32:38Speaker 19: of power to just be walking around in a grassy knoll.
- 32:40Speaker 25: As we all know that turns out as we all
- 32:42Speaker 25: know we know how this story.
- 32:44Speaker 21: Is so now a single bullet remains a single bullet
- 32:48Speaker 21: now has to account for the remaining seven wounds and
- 32:50Speaker 21: kennedy in.
- 32:51Speaker 11: Common yeah that's kind of what we do here is
- 32:53Speaker 11: cross over the movie and music you know blur those
- 32:56Speaker 11: lines yeah i guess what what are some good ones
- 32:58Speaker 11: for you guys as far as that that perfect song.
- 33:02Speaker 19: That fits in with the movie we were just talking
- 33:04Speaker 19: about easy rider before we started recording and you know,
- 33:07Speaker 19: with the weight going on. You know, when you hear
- 33:09Speaker 19: that song, you kind of just think of America and
- 33:11Speaker 19: just kind of being free and wide open spaces, and
- 33:15Speaker 19: that depicts it perfectly, them just on motorcycles somewhere in
- 33:20Speaker 19: Mexico or on the border.
- 33:22Speaker 4: ¶ ¶ ¶ ¶ ¶ ¶.
- 33:28Speaker 28: ¶ ¶.
- 33:36Speaker 30: Where I can leave my head Hey mister can you
- 33:41Speaker 30: tell me Where a man might find a band He
- 33:47Speaker 30: just grinned and shook my hand No was all he said.
- 33:51Speaker 4: Take a load off Fanny Take a load for free
- 34:00Speaker 4: Take a load off Fanny.
- 34:07Speaker 24: And you put the load right on me.
- 34:16Speaker 30: I picked up my bag I went looking for a place.
- 34:20Speaker 17: To hide.
- 34:23Speaker 4: When I saw Carmen.
- 34:25Speaker 28: And the devil walking side by side.
- 34:29Speaker 6: I said, hey, Carmen.
- 34:32Speaker 18: Come on, let's go downtown.
- 34:39Speaker 2: But my friend can.
- 34:40Speaker 4: Stick around Take a load off Fanny Take a load
- 34:47Speaker 4: for free Take a load off Fanny And.
- 34:56Speaker 24: You put the load right on me.
- 35:05Speaker 29: Go down, Miss Moses.
- 35:08Speaker 24: There's nothing you can say.
- 35:12Speaker 30: It's just old Luke and Luke's waiting on a judgment day.
- 35:19Speaker 6: Well, Luke, my friend, what.
- 35:22Speaker 18: About young Annalise?
- 35:25Speaker 30: He said, do me a favor, son, won't you stay
- 35:29Speaker 30: and keep Annalise?
- 35:35Speaker 4: Take a load for free. Take a load off plenty.
- 35:42Speaker 24: And you put the load right on me.
- 35:55Speaker 31: Crazy Chester followed me and he caught me.
- 35:59Speaker 6: In the fall. He said, I will fix.
- 36:03Speaker 18: Your rat if you take Jack, my dog. I said,
- 36:08Speaker 18: wait a minute, Chester. You know I'm a peaceful man.
- 36:14Speaker 2: He said, that's OK, boy. Won't you feed.
- 36:18Speaker 6: Me when you can?
- 36:21Speaker 24: Take a load off, daddy.
- 36:24Speaker 4: Take a load off Manny.
- 36:30Speaker 24: And you put the load right on me.
- 36:51Speaker 4: Catch a cannonball now to take me down the line.
- 36:57Speaker 2: My flag is sinking.
- 36:59Speaker 4: Low and I do believe it's time to get back
- 37:05Speaker 4: to Miss Fanny. You know she's the only one. Take
- 37:14Speaker 4: a load off, Annie. Take a load off, Annie. And
- 37:19Speaker 4: you put the load right on me.
- 37:45Speaker 25: Oh, speaking of Mexico, I just got into the Tarantino
- 37:49Speaker 25: movie when they play down in Mexico by the coasters.
- 37:52Speaker 25: What film is that?
- 37:54Speaker 6: I think it is.
- 37:56Speaker 25: I think it's when she does the sexy dance.
- 38:00Speaker 2: Oh, yeah. Don't stop me, Mike.
- 38:03Speaker 14: I'm Butterfly.
- 38:05Speaker 30: My friend Jungle Julie over here says that jukebox inside
- 38:07Speaker 30: is pretty impressive.
- 38:09Speaker 2: Yeah, it is.
- 38:10Speaker 4: Yeah. Why don't you go get ready for your lap dance?
- 38:37Speaker 32: Down in the mix of Cali, there's a crazy little.
- 38:42Speaker 4: Place that I know, where the drinks are hotter than.
- 38:51Speaker 31: The chili sauce, and the boss is a cat named Joe.
- 38:56Speaker 32: He wears a red bandana, plays a groove piano, and
- 39:02Speaker 32: a honky tonk down in Mexico.
- 39:06Speaker 31: He wears a purple flash and a black mustache.
- 39:12Speaker 6: And a honky tonk.
- 39:15Speaker 32: Well, the first time that I saw him, she was
- 39:22Speaker 32: a-sitting on a piano stool. I said, a-tell me when
- 39:29Speaker 32: does the He wears a red bandana Plays.
- 39:24Speaker 18: A cool piano In a honky.
- 39:26Speaker 20: Tonk Down in Mexico.
- 39:30Speaker 24: He wears a purple.
- 39:51Speaker 26: In a hockey tub Down in Mexico In Mexico.
- 39:57Speaker 28: All of a sudden in walks a chick In Mexico
- 40:01Speaker 28: Jo starts playing on a Latin kick In Mexico Around
- 40:06Speaker 28: her waist she wore three fishnets In Mexico She started
- 40:10Speaker 28: dancing with the castanets In Mexico I didn't know just
- 40:15Speaker 28: what to expect In Mexico She threw.
- 40:18Speaker 33: Her arms around around my neck.
- 40:21Speaker 18: In Mexico.
- 40:22Speaker 28: We started dancing all around the floor.
- 40:25Speaker 6: In Mexico.
- 40:26Speaker 22: And she did a dance I.
- 40:28Speaker 24: Never saw before. So if you're sour from the.
- 40:34Speaker 3: Border, I mean down in the middle.
- 40:37Speaker 18: Of the coast.
- 40:39Speaker 28: And you want to get straight, man, don't hesitate. Just
- 40:44Speaker 28: look up a cat named Joe.
- 40:48Speaker 32: He wears a red bandana, plays a cool piano In
- 40:54Speaker 32: a honky-tonk down in Mexico.
- 40:57Speaker 31: He wears a purple sash and.
- 41:02Speaker 26: A black mustache In a honky-tonk down in Mexico Hey!
- 41:09Speaker 34: Yeah, no, who was the guest on Letterman?
- 41:12Speaker 18: The woman.
- 41:13Speaker 4: Oh, Selma Hyatt.
- 41:15Speaker 3: Yeah, Selma Hyatt.
- 41:17Speaker 6: Yeah, yeah. And George Clooney and Oh, is it From
- 41:40Speaker 6: Dusk Till Dawn? Yeah, From Dusk Till Dawn. That's where.
- 41:43Speaker 25: Down in Mexico it's from?
- 41:45Speaker 2: Where they're down in that cantina.
- 41:46Speaker 6: I thought it was Tarantino. I guess I thought it
- 41:49Speaker 6: was the.
- 41:49Speaker 2: Tarantino's in that, too.
- 41:50Speaker 25: I thought it was the Grindhouse.
- 41:51Speaker 6: Maybe I'm mistaken.
- 41:52Speaker 2: No, it's Grindhouse. It could be wrong.
- 41:54Speaker 6: It's pre-Grindhouse, sort of.
- 41:55Speaker 2: Pre, yeah.
- 41:56Speaker 6: That one's... What is that one?
- 41:58Speaker 25: No, but that's a great... That made the Coasters album
- 42:00Speaker 25: just self-titled. And it's so good. We were listening to
- 42:03Speaker 25: that yesterday, coming back from Cincinnati. That's what I had on.
- 42:06Speaker 13: Oh, yeah.
- 42:07Speaker 6: But he wears a red bandana.
- 42:10Speaker 25: Yeah, that's a great tune.
- 42:12Speaker 2: Rhyming bandana and piano.
- 42:14Speaker 25: I mean, you can't go wrong.
- 42:16Speaker 2: But I digress. We should, I guess. Now I'm just
- 42:19Speaker 2: thinking about Selma Hyde. Yeah.
- 42:21Speaker 6: That will distract you.
- 42:23Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 42:23Speaker 25: We were sitting up in the green room at the
- 42:26Speaker 25: Letterman thing, and she was... Nice enough to go outside.
- 42:31Speaker 25: And there's this rail they set up where the fans
- 42:33Speaker 25: all get behind. And she was nice enough to go
- 42:36Speaker 25: out there and talk to a bunch of them. And
- 42:38Speaker 25: when she did, we're up in the green room. We
- 42:40Speaker 25: hear this fucking roar. And people are screaming, what in
- 42:43Speaker 25: the hell.
- 42:43Speaker 2: Is going on?
- 42:44Speaker 25: We look out the window. And sure enough, it's her.
- 42:46Speaker 25: And all the guys are leaning over the couch. I mean,
- 42:48Speaker 25: can't get close enough to the window to see her.
- 42:50Speaker 2: You know what happened to that, though? I was just
- 42:52Speaker 2: going out for a smoke. Yeah, I'll bet you were.
- 42:55Speaker 2: And I just walked out. It just timed.
- 42:56Speaker 7: We came through separate doors to go out to the exit.
- 42:59Speaker 7: And I was just right behind her and like her
- 43:01Speaker 7: posse and I was just going out for a smoke
- 43:03Speaker 7: and so I'm sure I'm probably in the background in
- 43:05Speaker 7: some of those pictures like smoking a cig like hey
- 43:07Speaker 7: what's up?
- 43:08Speaker 2: Nice.
- 43:09Speaker 6: It's just stalker photos of you.
- 43:11Speaker 2: It is stalker photos. These are evidence now.
- 43:13Speaker 30: Yeah.
- 43:13Speaker 6: Lurking in the background.
- 43:16Speaker 25: Have you seen the movie Duet?
- 43:17Speaker 6: Is it Duets?
- 43:18Speaker 25: Or Duets?
- 43:18Speaker 6: Duets.
- 43:19Speaker 25: With Paul Giamatti and Danny Glover is it? Is it
- 43:23Speaker 25: Danny Glover?
- 43:24Speaker 2: Is it? I don't know.
- 43:26Speaker 25: Maybe I'm just making that up. But they turn like
- 43:29Speaker 25: these corny, not corny, like classic songs that have just
- 43:32Speaker 25: been overplayed and they do them acapella. Have you seen this?
- 43:36Speaker 19: Yeah.
- 43:36Speaker 6: They do them acapella and they make them just amazing.
- 43:39Speaker 2: Really? It's crazy. Do you have it?
- 43:41Speaker 25: I don't have it. No, I've only seen it once
- 43:43Speaker 25: but I was blown away.
- 43:45Speaker 2: Get it.
- 43:45Speaker 25: The very last song they do is, I think it's
- 43:49Speaker 25: Tuesday's Gone is the very last song they do acapella
- 43:52Speaker 25: and it's just, yeah, it's sick.
- 43:55Speaker 2: It'll always make me think of Happy Gilmore.
- 43:58Speaker 22: Yeah.
- 43:58Speaker 25: I mean, that's, It's funny how songs are related to
- 44:02Speaker 25: scenes in movies because they're just, it's like, well, that's
- 44:04Speaker 25: the perfect fucking song right there. There's nothing else I
- 44:07Speaker 25: want to hear at this point in time while watching
- 44:11Speaker 25: Happy pull up to his grandmother's new home.
- 44:13Speaker 2: And then Chubbs looking down from heaven.
- 44:15Speaker 19: Yeah.
- 44:23Speaker 4: Train roll on On down the line Won't you please.
- 44:28Speaker 18: Take me far.
- 44:53Speaker 24: Now I feel the wind blow.
- 45:03Speaker 4: Outside my door.
- 45:07Speaker 20: Means I'll leave my woman at home.
- 45:23Speaker 4: Oh, my baby's gone with the wind Oh, baby Oh,
- 45:33Speaker 4: baby Oh, baby.
- 45:56Speaker 20: And I don't know.
- 46:02Speaker 18: Oh, where I'm.
- 46:05Speaker 4: Going I just want to be left alone.
- 46:18Speaker 26: Well, when this train moves.
- 46:28Speaker 18: I'll leave him out for a moment.
- 47:08Speaker 6: We'll be right back.
- 48:06Speaker 4: Thank you. Train roll on A minute miles from my home.
- 48:39Speaker 18: Seattle I'm riding.
- 49:02Speaker 4: My blue wave. Yeah. But today, you see, she.
- 49:14Speaker 18: Had to be free.
- 49:15Speaker 27: Yeah.
- 50:18Speaker 6: Bye.
- 50:18Speaker 4: Bye.
- 50:18Speaker 3: Bye.
- 51:21Speaker 1: Commission time. If leaving, please replace your inner car speaker
- 51:26Speaker 1: before releasing brakes or starting motor. Do not back out.
- 51:31Speaker 1: Drive to the aisle in front of you and exit.
- 51:35Speaker 1: And now, for those remaining....

- 52:06Speaker 9: Doo-Wop Shop. We're serious about music.
- 52:17Speaker 25: Hey there, this is John Doe, and this is Movie Meltdown.
- 52:21Speaker 25: Very glad to have you along.
- 52:22Speaker 4: We have lots of exciting things to talk about tonight.
- 52:27Speaker 11: Since they're not here, let's talk about the other two.
- 52:36Speaker 6: What do they play that you're like sick to death of?
- 52:38Speaker 25: What, songs?
- 52:39Speaker 6: Yeah. Well, not sick to death, but... Or are you
- 52:43Speaker 6: stuck watching movies?
- 52:44Speaker 11: Because I was talking about that with other bands that
- 52:45Speaker 11: are like, they're out on the road and they're constantly
- 52:48Speaker 11: watching movies.
- 52:48Speaker 25: We switch up movies really well, though. We don't switch
- 52:51Speaker 25: up music because we all have our iPods or our
- 52:55Speaker 25: phones or whatever, and we plug it in whoever's driving.
- 52:58Speaker 25: You can tell who's driving, yeah. Katie will play every
- 53:01Speaker 25: Delta Spirit song she's ever heard. Jay usually goes for
- 53:06Speaker 25: the band.
- 53:08Speaker 6: Anything by the band.
- 53:10Speaker 2: Yeah, Jay's always hip to the newer music. He is.
- 53:13Speaker 2: We're always like, who is this?
- 53:14Speaker 25: Yeah, he introduced me to The War on Drugs. Their
- 53:17Speaker 25: new album is fantastic. Red Eyes?
- 53:20Speaker 6: Is it Red Eyes?
- 53:20Speaker 25: God, that track is just so good.
- 53:24Speaker 6: Well, then what movies do you sync up on?
- 53:26Speaker 2: What's that?
- 53:27Speaker 11: Everybody can actually watch while you're out touring around.
- 53:29Speaker 25: What movies do we watch?
- 53:30Speaker 18: Yeah.
- 53:31Speaker 2: Oh, gosh.
- 53:32Speaker 25: We just finished Sharknado.
- 53:33Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 53:34Speaker 6: Oh, well, there you go.
- 53:35Speaker 2: Classic.
- 53:35Speaker 6: Yeah, yeah.
- 53:37Speaker 25: Just the best acting there's actually a movie called The
- 53:39Speaker 25: Lonesome Dove that is a western and I'm the only
- 53:43Speaker 25: one in the van that likes westerns but I got
- 53:45Speaker 25: to reading the description of it and it's a six
- 53:48Speaker 25: hour long western we.
- 53:50Speaker 27: Have it recorded onto VHS The Lonesome Dove? at my
- 53:54Speaker 27: parents house do you really?
- 53:55Speaker 25: Yeah well don't tell me how it ends because I've
- 53:57Speaker 25: only seen the first three hours of.
- 53:58Speaker 27: It it's intermission time is.
- 54:01Speaker 2: That what it was?
- 54:02Speaker 25: Yeah there's no way it could have been a movie
- 54:05Speaker 25: two DVDs yeah Yeah.
- 54:08Speaker 2: That's insane.
- 54:09Speaker 6: On the Sharknado, we did just see Tara Reid a
- 54:11Speaker 6: couple weeks ago. Oh, nice. It's arguable.
- 54:15Speaker 2: Sort of. She was like.
- 54:17Speaker 6: She's a special girl.
- 54:19Speaker 25: Yeah, I had a thing for her back in the
- 54:21Speaker 25: day when I was younger.
- 54:22Speaker 2: Yeah, like American Pie and stuff? Yeah, yeah. She was
- 54:25Speaker 2: a babe.
- 54:26Speaker 25: I mean, she still is a babe.
- 54:27Speaker 2: I mean.
- 54:28Speaker 11: Some of the things she's done to herself, I don't
- 54:30Speaker 11: necessarily agree with.
- 54:32Speaker 25: That's what kills it.
- 54:33Speaker 6: I know. Because she was a beautiful girl. Why would
- 54:36Speaker 6: you mess with any of it? She did some weird
- 54:39Speaker 6: things to herself.
- 54:40Speaker 2: I think we've all seen that picture, right?
- 54:42Speaker 19: Yeah.
- 54:42Speaker 6: Yeah. It depends which one.
- 54:44Speaker 2: Where the Wolverine attack happened, it looked like.
- 54:47Speaker 6: There's the Franken-nipple.
- 54:48Speaker 2: The Franken-nipple.
- 54:49Speaker 6: And then there's also the weird stomach thing going on.
- 54:52Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 54:52Speaker 6: That's not right.
- 54:53Speaker 2: That's strange. It looks sad.
- 54:54Speaker 6: The thing is, I think.
- 54:55Speaker 25: Her stomach looks sad.
- 54:56Speaker 11: We decided she got most of that taken care of
- 54:58Speaker 11: because she was there like super bare midriff.
- 55:00Speaker 6: Like she was showing all that off. Here's the creepy thing.
- 55:03Speaker 6: Like it went way low on the pants, really high up.
- 55:07Speaker 6: We could not find the belly button.
- 55:08Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 55:09Speaker 25: Well, I mean, there's only so much you can do,
- 55:10Speaker 25: I guess.
- 55:10Speaker 2: Did they fill in?
- 55:11Speaker 6: I don't know.
- 55:11Speaker 27: With the tummy tuck, a lot of times they end
- 55:13Speaker 27: up cutting it off.
- 55:15Speaker 25: Yeah, it's actually above her nipples now.
- 55:17Speaker 6: At least just get a Sharpie and fill.
- 55:20Speaker 2: That spot in.
- 55:21Speaker 25: Something's got to give.
- 55:22Speaker 27: You thought it was a nipple in her chin? No,
- 55:24Speaker 27: it's her navel.
- 55:25Speaker 25: Is that a birthmark?
- 55:26Speaker 6: No, it's not.
- 55:28Speaker 19: I saw it on Reddit. This guy was born with
- 55:31Speaker 19: no areola. It was just the bitty. It was just
- 55:34Speaker 19: the teat. And he got tattoos.
- 55:38Speaker 1: Oh, yeah.
- 55:39Speaker 27: So he got his areola tattooed on?
- 55:41Speaker 11: See, sometimes they're actually doing that with reconstruction now for, like,
- 55:44Speaker 11: survivors of cancer. They'll go back and they can put
- 55:47Speaker 11: the rest on, but they can't make that look right.
- 55:49Speaker 25: Right. They tattoo it.
- 55:51Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 55:52Speaker 6: It's kind of awesome, actually.
- 55:54Speaker 2: It really is.
- 55:54Speaker 25: It has to do a lot for somebody's self-esteem.
- 55:58Speaker 6: Oh, yeah.
- 56:00Speaker 25: I would want nipples.
- 56:01Speaker 19: I mean, Zach's been wanting, you know, to get his
- 56:03Speaker 19: nipples fixed for a while now.
- 56:05Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 56:06Speaker 6: And you feel you should.
- 56:07Speaker 25: Yeah, mine leak. My nipples leak constantly.
- 56:10Speaker 6: I didn't want to mention the wets.
- 56:12Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 56:13Speaker 25: Thank God this is a podcast.
- 56:16Speaker 6: We can take pictures of this.
- 56:17Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah.
- 56:17Speaker 6: We can document this.
- 56:18Speaker 25: Let's make something happen.
- 56:19Speaker 2: They look like sausage patties. Denny's. They're just so big.
- 56:23Speaker 27: Leaky sausage patties.
- 56:24Speaker 2: And lumpy. It's sad, really.
- 56:26Speaker 6: Well, I'm not a good sales pitch at all.
- 56:28Speaker 2: Lumpy nipples.
- 56:29Speaker 6: That's actually my nickname in the van is lumpy nipples.
- 56:31Speaker 2: Lumpy nip. Yeah.
- 56:33Speaker 6: I want to see that in the next line or not.
- 56:36Speaker 2: And we digress. Yeah. What was the question?
- 56:40Speaker 6: Movies.
- 56:41Speaker 18: Movies.
- 56:42Speaker 2: Oh, yes. Terry.
- 56:43Speaker 3: Terry.
- 56:45Speaker 6: No, she got us off track.
- 56:46Speaker 2: Yeah, right, right.
- 56:47Speaker 11: In other news, the Prime Minister of Sweden visited Washington today,
- 56:52Speaker 11: and my tiny little nipples went to France.
- 56:54Speaker 31: I don't know.
- 56:55Speaker 6: Anything else of that type that you're into? Older movies,
- 56:58Speaker 6: new stuff? I don't know. What do you guys usually
- 57:00Speaker 6: gravitate towards?
- 57:01Speaker 3: Um.
- 57:03Speaker 25: Well, we run through a lot of movies. We were
- 57:07Speaker 25: on the road a lot, and we ran through a
- 57:08Speaker 25: lot of movies. But we always go back to Blue Velvet,
- 57:12Speaker 25: American Psycho. The ones that we consider to be classics.
- 57:16Speaker 6: Blue Velvet, there's the song for me. Blue Velvet.
- 57:18Speaker 2: Because I can't hear.
- 57:19Speaker 11: Well, either like that or the Candy Color Clown.
- 57:22Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 57:24Speaker 11: I can't hear that. There's no other way for that
- 57:27Speaker 11: song to exist now except... Exactly.
- 57:29Speaker 6: Dean Stockwell doing it into a light bulb.
- 57:31Speaker 7: Right.
- 57:32Speaker 6: I can't hear it in any way.
- 57:34Speaker 2: Right.
- 57:35Speaker 6: Lynch claimed that song.
- 57:37Speaker 13: A candy colored clown they call the Sandman Tiptoes to
- 57:41Speaker 13: my room every night Just to sprinkle stardust and to
- 57:47Speaker 13: whisper Go to sleep, everything is alright I close my
- 57:56Speaker 13: eyes Then I drift away.
- 58:03Speaker 33: Into the magic night I softly say A silent prayer
- 58:17Speaker 33: like dreamers do.
- 58:22Speaker 13: Then I fall asleep to dream my dreams of you In.
- 58:33Speaker 20: Dreams I walk.
- 58:37Speaker 2: With you.
- 58:44Speaker 13: I talk to you In dreams.
- 58:52Speaker 20: You're mine All of the time we're together In dreams,
- 59:06Speaker 20: in dreams But just before.
- 59:16Speaker 4: The dawn.
- 59:21Speaker 20: I awake and find you gone.
- 59:30Speaker 33: I can't help it I can't help it if I
- 59:36Speaker 33: cry I remember that you said goodbye It's.
- 59:48Speaker 4: Too bad that all these things.
- 59:57Speaker 6: Can only hurt All right, let's hit the fucking road.
- 1:00:31Speaker 2: Yeah, but that's good.
- 1:00:32Speaker 6: We don't really have anything we can get our hands on.
- 1:00:35Speaker 2: For a while, we got.
- 1:00:35Speaker 25: Into these B-horror movies where you can get like 20
- 1:00:39Speaker 25: of them on a DVD for 60 or 70 cents nowadays.
- 1:00:44Speaker 2: Yeah, it was great.
- 1:00:45Speaker 6: Occasionally, you run into some gems on there.
- 1:00:47Speaker 2: What was it? Castle Freak. Oh, my gosh.
- 1:00:50Speaker 6: It's full moon, isn't it? Yeah, like one of the
- 1:00:52Speaker 6: early full moons.
- 1:00:53Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, Castle Freak. Castle Freak.
- 1:00:55Speaker 6: Castle Freak.
- 1:00:56Speaker 2: We have this voice now.
- 1:00:57Speaker 19: Or you just can run up on somebody and act
- 1:00:59Speaker 19: all weird and just go, I'm Castle Freak, what's up?
- 1:01:03Speaker 6: And three people get that reference.
- 1:01:05Speaker 22: Exactly, yeah.
- 1:01:06Speaker 6: I don't know why he turned out so feminine. They're
- 1:01:08Speaker 6: all in the band.
- 1:01:09Speaker 9: Exactly.
- 1:01:11Speaker 6: I have that problem myself.
- 1:01:11Speaker 2: We just look ridiculous.
- 1:01:13Speaker 6: We reference stuff all the time. We'd be like, what
- 1:01:14Speaker 6: is wrong with you?
- 1:01:16Speaker 2: Never mind.
- 1:01:19Speaker 19: I think we've been trying to, since we watch so
- 1:01:21Speaker 19: many movies and we stop so often that... We kind
- 1:01:25Speaker 19: of got into Seinfeld. I downloaded, like, the whole series.
- 1:01:28Speaker 19: We were watching a bunch of Seinfeld. Those are great,
- 1:01:31Speaker 19: you know. You can take a break.
- 1:01:34Speaker 2: Offshoots.
- 1:01:35Speaker 11: I like trying to go back and find them all
- 1:01:38Speaker 11: before they were in there. Got, like, Kramer in UHF.
- 1:01:43Speaker 11: Elaine's in Christmas Vacation.
- 1:01:45Speaker 6: Yeah, yeah. You can go back and find all of them. Oh,
- 1:01:48Speaker 6: that's right.
- 1:01:48Speaker 25: She's that bitchy girl.
- 1:01:49Speaker 6: Next door, Margo.
- 1:01:50Speaker 12: That's right.
- 1:01:53Speaker 25: I totally forgot about that.
- 1:01:54Speaker 2: My family watches that every year during Christmas.
- 1:01:58Speaker 6: George is a pretty woman. That's sort of simultaneous.
- 1:02:01Speaker 2: Just the no shit part. No shit.
- 1:02:05Speaker 27: Hey, Griswold, what do you plan on doing with a
- 1:02:07Speaker 27: Christmas tree that size?
- 1:02:10Speaker 25: God, what a great series of.
- 1:02:13Speaker 25: All the National Lampoon vacation movies were great.
- 1:02:17Speaker 19: Yeah.
- 1:02:18Speaker 25: That first one is amazing. Yeah, that's the staple in
- 1:02:22Speaker 25: my family is the original.
- 1:02:23Speaker 11: I do come back to that soundtrack, too, like Holiday Road.
- 1:02:26Speaker 6: Holiday Road?
- 1:02:26Speaker 25: Are you kidding.
- 1:02:38Speaker 4: Me?
- 1:02:38Speaker 18: Holiday Road.
- 1:03:00Speaker 32: I can't believe anymore, I can't believe.
- 1:03:05Speaker 33: Take a ride on the West Coast kid.
- 1:03:10Speaker 18: Holiday road.
- 1:03:43Speaker 6: I found out long ago It's a.
- 1:03:47Speaker 22: Long way down the hard day.
- 1:03:50Speaker 7: Road Oh, God.
- 1:04:34Speaker 30: The dog went on the picnic basket.
- 1:04:37Speaker 2: Didn't they write that for them? I think they did.
- 1:04:39Speaker 2: Did they?
- 1:04:39Speaker 12: I don't know.
- 1:04:40Speaker 2: Did they?
- 1:04:41Speaker 6: Because that's so entertaining.
- 1:04:43Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:04:44Speaker 25: That scene where he walks through the desert and he
- 1:04:46Speaker 25: finds his family at the convenience or whatever, the gas station.
- 1:04:50Speaker 6: And he looks at them and goes.
- 1:04:51Speaker 2: Hey, kids, you thirsty?
- 1:04:52Speaker 25: That cracks me up every time I think about it.
- 1:04:58Speaker 19: You'd think he'd be, like, awesome for him to be
- 1:05:00Speaker 19: your dad, but it would actually just.
- 1:05:01Speaker 2: Probably really suck.
- 1:05:02Speaker 6: It'd be really terrible. You'd be, like, rusty all day long.
- 1:05:05Speaker 27: Well, especially since the kids are different.
- 1:05:07Speaker 6: In every movie, so it.
- 1:05:09Speaker 27: Makes you wonder, like, Did he lose his kids in
- 1:05:12Speaker 27: between times when you see them?
- 1:05:14Speaker 2: Right.
- 1:05:14Speaker 27: And just, like, go pick up new ones?
- 1:05:16Speaker 2: Multiple wives. Oh, yeah, that's what it is.
- 1:05:18Speaker 25: He's funny in Community, too, Chevy Chase.
- 1:05:21Speaker 6: I've watched that show quite a bit.
- 1:05:22Speaker 2: Oh, yeah, yeah, I've seen it a few times.
- 1:05:23Speaker 6: Have you watched The Venture Brothers? I think that might be.
- 1:05:26Speaker 6: I think I've just pieced together what keeps happening to
- 1:05:28Speaker 6: the kids.
- 1:05:29Speaker 27: I haven't.
- 1:05:30Speaker 11: If you watch The Venture Brothers, like, after a while, like,
- 1:05:33Speaker 11: towards one season, spoiler alert for The Venture Brothers if
- 1:05:36Speaker 11: you haven't seen it. At one point, towards the end
- 1:05:38Speaker 11: of the season, he's got these two teenage sons, and
- 1:05:41Speaker 11: they just die at the end of the season.
- 1:05:43Speaker 6: And they're kind of the main character.
- 1:05:44Speaker 12: You're like.
- 1:05:45Speaker 11: the hell are they gonna do next season well he's
- 1:05:47Speaker 11: this weird scientist and he just keeps cloning new kids
- 1:05:49Speaker 11: and he's been through like 40 different kids because they
- 1:05:52Speaker 11: constantly like get in some sort of horrible accident and
- 1:05:55Speaker 11: he's like he's the worst parent ever so he kills
- 1:05:56Speaker 11: his kids all.
- 1:05:57Speaker 25: The time hopefully it's not like cloning multiplicity where they
- 1:06:00Speaker 25: keep getting dumber and dumber oh god these are.
- 1:06:02Speaker 11: Just messed up clones on the vacation series they keep
- 1:06:05Speaker 11: coming out looking.
- 1:06:06Speaker 27: Different so you're suggesting that clark w griswold is a
- 1:06:08Speaker 27: weird scientist well he kind of is because yeah he
- 1:06:11Speaker 27: does Make the lacquer for the cereal.
- 1:06:16Speaker 6: The coating. That seems like a mad scientist to me.
- 1:06:19Speaker 6: I don't know. Any other songs that stand out?
- 1:06:24Speaker 2: Starting to draw blanks.
- 1:06:25Speaker 25: I know, me too.
- 1:06:26Speaker 2: Any for you?
- 1:06:27Speaker 25: I just keep thinking of Tara Reade's boobs.
- 1:06:30Speaker 29: I got to think that when I think of soundtracks,
- 1:06:33Speaker 29: one of my weird favorites is the Dumb and Dumber soundtrack.
- 1:06:36Speaker 14: Oh.
- 1:06:37Speaker 6: I don't know why.
- 1:06:37Speaker 2: I think it just kind of.
- 1:06:38Speaker 29: Encapsulates, like, the 90s in a weird way like Crash
- 1:06:41Speaker 29: Test Dummies are on there there's this weird like reggae
- 1:06:46Speaker 29: bop song.
- 1:06:47Speaker 25: Who sang the song Mary Mo or whatever.
- 1:06:49Speaker 29: Oh it's called what's it really Dead Eye Dick sings
- 1:06:51Speaker 29: it yeah it's called New Age Girl.
- 1:07:09Speaker 35: I've got a new age girl Tell us what she's
- 1:07:14Speaker 35: like Viral mentalist and girl Does she ride a bike?
- 1:07:18Speaker 17: She has a crystal necklace.
- 1:07:20Speaker 13: She spend a lot of cash Though her.
- 1:07:22Speaker 10: Vibes are rather reckless She's heading for a crash Or
- 1:07:25Speaker 10: a flowing skirt is blowing in a transcendental wind And
- 1:07:28Speaker 10: she wonders without knowing Where did we begin? Mary Moon
- 1:07:35Speaker 10: She's a vegetarian Mary Moon, Mary Moon Mary Moo will
- 1:07:40Speaker 10: help through all the septuagenarians.
- 1:07:43Speaker 4: Mary Moo, Mary Moo, Mary Moo.
- 1:07:46Speaker 10: Oh, she loves me so she hates to be alone.
- 1:07:50Speaker 3: Don't eat me, but she's all like the bone.
- 1:07:54Speaker 13: You know she.
- 1:07:59Speaker 2: Drives a wind car.
- 1:08:01Speaker 4: How does she like it?
- 1:08:03Speaker 18: It doesn't get her far.
- 1:08:05Speaker 6: Why she doesn't bike? I don't know where she's going
- 1:08:15Speaker 6: and I don't know where she's been.
- 1:08:18Speaker 25: All I know in loving her has got to be
- 1:08:20Speaker 25: a sin.
- 1:08:20Speaker 4: Mary Moon!
- 1:08:23Speaker 6: She's a vegetarian.
- 1:08:25Speaker 4: Mary Moon, Mary Moon, Mary Moon.
- 1:08:27Speaker 20: Well, I love all the septuagenarians.
- 1:08:32Speaker 4: Mary Moon, Mary Moon, Mary Moon.
- 1:08:34Speaker 20: Oh, she loves me so she hates me alone.
- 1:08:38Speaker 9: Don't eat me, but you sure.
- 1:08:40Speaker 18: Like the bone.
- 1:08:51Speaker 21: Don't hesitate.
- 1:08:52Speaker 10: Don't segregate your thoughts from your emotions.
- 1:08:57Speaker 6: I know devotion isn't... way up there.
- 1:09:38Speaker 10: All the septuagenarians Mary Moon She's an intellectual.
- 1:09:48Speaker 4: Mary Moon Despite.
- 1:09:50Speaker 20: That That remains quite sexual.
- 1:09:55Speaker 26: Mary Moon.
- 1:10:13Speaker 23: First time I shed eyes on Mary Swanson, I just
- 1:10:22Speaker 23: got that old-fashioned romantic feeling where I'd do anything to
- 1:10:26Speaker 23: bone her.
- 1:10:26Speaker 25: I walked around the house singing that when I was little,
- 1:10:28Speaker 25: and my mom was like, do you know what it means,
- 1:10:30Speaker 25: to bone?
- 1:10:32Speaker 6: Yeah, it's like, she doesn't like meat, but she sure
- 1:10:34Speaker 6: likes to bone.
- 1:10:34Speaker 19: Yeah.
- 1:10:36Speaker 6: No, I have no idea.
- 1:10:37Speaker 2: Oh, my God.
- 1:10:38Speaker 25: You know they put that out on vinyl, right?
- 1:10:40Speaker 6: Wood buy.
- 1:10:42Speaker 2: Wood purchase with all the money that I own.
- 1:10:44Speaker 6: I seen you over there.
- 1:10:46Speaker 29: Yeah, that's the one that I, for weird reasons, will
- 1:10:50Speaker 29: go find on Spotify.
- 1:10:52Speaker 2: When's your birthday? December 14th. There it is. I'm going
- 1:10:55Speaker 2: to get it for you.
- 1:10:55Speaker 6: What's your social security number for all the awesome listeners
- 1:10:58Speaker 6: right now?
- 1:10:59Speaker 2: How can we contact you? We're just looking to get
- 1:11:02Speaker 2: a hold of you, really.
- 1:11:04Speaker 6: Well, I guess we can round out the movies there.
- 1:11:07Speaker 11: What do you guys have as far as plans for
- 1:11:10Speaker 11: the rest of this year or are big stuff coming
- 1:11:12Speaker 11: up for you?
- 1:11:14Speaker 25: We're leaving tomorrow to do like an eight-day tour, just
- 1:11:19Speaker 25: short and sweet. And then we get in the studio
- 1:11:21Speaker 25: in August and we're going to be working on our
- 1:11:22Speaker 25: new album, which will come out sometime next year early, hopefully.
- 1:11:27Speaker 25: And then we're low-key pretty much the rest of the year.
- 1:11:31Speaker 2: Yeah, and tour... Probably forever when that comes up.
- 1:11:35Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:11:36Speaker 11: How is the touring for you? A good part or
- 1:11:40Speaker 11: a bad part? I mean, it's a necessary part.
- 1:11:42Speaker 2: It's great. Is it?
- 1:11:43Speaker 11: Yeah.
- 1:11:44Speaker 19: It's fun and, you know, I think once we get
- 1:11:49Speaker 19: home from a long tour after a couple days, we're like, okay,
- 1:11:52Speaker 19: let's go do it again.
- 1:11:53Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:11:54Speaker 25: Once you just recharge your batteries.
- 1:11:56Speaker 2: After a while, it is tiring, but, you know, it's
- 1:12:00Speaker 2: what you do. It's what you signed up for, you know?
- 1:12:02Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:12:03Speaker 11: Well, I guess what's the best way for people to
- 1:12:06Speaker 11: find you? Should they just go to your website or
- 1:12:08Speaker 11: just find out more about you or music or any
- 1:12:11Speaker 11: of that?
- 1:12:11Speaker 2: Yeah, just houndmouth.com or Facebook.
- 1:12:15Speaker 25: Or come see a show.
- 1:12:16Speaker 2: Yeah, come hang out.
- 1:12:17Speaker 6: Yeah, we'll be out there selling merch afterwards.
- 1:12:21Speaker 2: Hanging out. Might be a little loose. Drinking some beers. Yeah.
- 1:12:24Speaker 6: And tell them you heard on Movie Meltdown. Right, right, right.
- 1:12:27Speaker 25: If you mention Movie Meltdown, you get a free picture
- 1:12:29Speaker 25: with Shane with his shirt off.
- 1:12:31Speaker 6: I might cash in on that.
- 1:12:34Speaker 2: I'm into this.
- 1:12:36Speaker 6: There's no nipple issues?
- 1:12:39Speaker 25: His nipples are pristine.
- 1:12:41Speaker 6: Now we definitely need to fix them.
- 1:12:42Speaker 2: I work them out. Very intense.
- 1:12:47Speaker 6: Electroshock therapy.
- 1:12:50Speaker 2: White and dodgeball. You want that, don't you? You ever
- 1:12:54Speaker 2: listen to K. Billy's Super Sounds of the 70s? I
- 1:12:57Speaker 2: think it's funny how.
- 1:13:00Speaker 27: Anytime you mention soundtracks, it always seems to go back
- 1:13:03Speaker 27: to Tarantino films.
- 1:13:05Speaker 6: That's kind of his thing.
- 1:13:07Speaker 27: Yeah, and he just picks songs that are so perfect
- 1:13:11Speaker 27: for that moment.
- 1:13:13Speaker 11: Well, again, he just leeches on to his upbringing there,
- 1:13:18Speaker 11: raising himself in a video store like he did.
- 1:13:20Speaker 6: So all he did was watch.
- 1:13:21Speaker 11: Old weird movies, so he's always doing those movie references
- 1:13:24Speaker 11: in his own movies. But again, he's sort of into
- 1:13:26Speaker 11: that same... old soundtrack thing so it's either pulling songs
- 1:13:30Speaker 11: from old soundtracks and actually reusing them in his or
- 1:13:33Speaker 11: just the old records and stuff that he liked at
- 1:13:35Speaker 11: the time so it's kind of right coming.
- 1:13:37Speaker 27: Around it's pretty amazing because and it's kind of like
- 1:13:40Speaker 27: it's kind of like zach was talking about like how
- 1:13:43Speaker 27: you know you think of a song and all you
- 1:13:45Speaker 27: can envision is like one particular scene in a movie
- 1:13:48Speaker 27: and i mean that i don't know how many times
- 1:13:49Speaker 27: that happens like anytime you think of a tarantino film
- 1:13:52Speaker 27: it's like okay, you're thinking of what's going on in
- 1:13:54Speaker 27: that scene, but then also that soundtrack is just automatically
- 1:13:57Speaker 27: playing in your mind.
- 1:13:58Speaker 6: Yeah. He's got a knack.
- 1:14:02Speaker 11: He's a weird dude, but he's skilled at making films
- 1:14:05Speaker 11: and putting together an awesome soundtrack.
- 1:14:08Speaker 2: All right.
- 1:14:08Speaker 11: Well, I think we will go out with one of yours.
- 1:14:10Speaker 11: So what's another good song to round out the episode with?
- 1:14:12Speaker 6: I don't know.
- 1:14:15Speaker 2: Shano?
- 1:14:15Speaker 19: Let's sing it out with the one Zach sings called
- 1:14:19Speaker 19: Hey Rose.
- 1:14:22Speaker 2: All right.
- 1:14:23Speaker 14: Yeah.
- 1:14:24Speaker 30: Yeah.
- 1:14:24Speaker 19: Yeah.
- 1:14:25Speaker 23: Yeah.
- 1:14:27Speaker 22: All right.
- 1:14:27Speaker 2: Well, that'll do.
- 1:14:28Speaker 11: Thank you for sitting in with us. And yeah, we'll
- 1:14:30Speaker 11: definitely send everybody out there to find you.
- 1:14:32Speaker 6: And go listen to your music.
- 1:14:34Speaker 2: For sure.
- 1:14:34Speaker 25: Thanks for having us, man.
- 1:14:35Speaker 2: Yeah, I appreciate y'all.
- 1:14:37Speaker 6: And with that, I will remind you, get a life,
- 1:14:38Speaker 6: we'll provide the sound.
- 1:14:50Speaker 31: I guess you better get up and go back to
- 1:14:55Speaker 31: the lonely deserts westward out of Hillsdale, Arizona where the
- 1:14:58Speaker 31: girls will treat you friendly sure but only if you
- 1:15:00Speaker 31: want to steal a ride from.
- 1:15:03Speaker 26: The riverboat captain tonight hey there oh did.
- 1:15:13Speaker 4: You think I'd come all this way in Maine.
- 1:15:21Speaker 5: Is getting hotter but i start to.
- 1:15:22Speaker 25: See the light and i think i might pull over
- 1:15:25Speaker 25: just to stop here for.
- 1:15:26Speaker 31: The night i see her coming up and i know
- 1:15:29Speaker 31: she won't give me a fight and so i start
- 1:15:33Speaker 31: to make my move and splash my face up.
- 1:15:35Speaker 6: With some water and she tries to pull.
- 1:15:37Speaker 31: Me off but then it only makes me hotter can
- 1:15:40Speaker 31: you spare some change for the night.
- 1:15:52Speaker 4: Did you think I'd come all this way in vain?
- 1:15:59Speaker 34: Drive down to the center of a coal mine town.
- 1:16:05Speaker 26: Wash your face and change your frame of mind.
- 1:16:11Speaker 4: In hard times, you better store away your nickels and
- 1:16:17Speaker 4: your diamonds. Throw them around.
- 1:16:52Speaker 3: Thank you.
- 1:17:21Speaker 35: Did you think I'd come all this way in vain?
- 1:17:29Speaker 35: Drive down to the center of a coal mine town
- 1:17:35Speaker 35: Wash your face and change your frame of mind.
- 1:17:42Speaker 4: In hard times, you better store away your nickels and
- 1:17:47Speaker 4: your dimes. Throw a rope around the big old tree.
- 1:18:26Speaker 31: Did you think I'd come All this way in vain.
- 1:18:33Speaker 34: Drive down To the center of a coal mine town
- 1:18:39Speaker 34: Wash your face and change your frame of mind And hard.
- 1:18:47Speaker 26: Times You better know your nickels and your diamonds.
- 1:19:31Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:19:32Speaker 6: Can we do it with or without the shirt?
- 1:19:35Speaker 25: Yeah.
