- 0:39SPEAKER_01: Welcome back to Reality.
- 0:41SPEAKER_01: We've got Thoughts.
- 0:42SPEAKER_01: I'm Susan.
- 0:43SPEAKER_01: And I'm Debbie.
- 0:44SPEAKER_01: And we've got thoughts.
- 0:46SPEAKER_01: Every week we give you our thoughts on all of the reality TV that you're watching.
- 0:51SPEAKER_01: And today we're here to talk about Dancing with the Stars, horror movie night, which was an exciting night.
- 0:59SPEAKER_01: And this makes me think of Halloween.
- 1:01SPEAKER_03: Like Halloween is this weekend, but we our kids are older, so So we don't do trick-or-treating anymore.
- 1:08SPEAKER_03: And I have to be honest, it's such a relief not to have to come up with costumes every year.
- 1:12SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 1:13SPEAKER_03: That was the being of my existence, Halloween and coming up with costumes because I always felt like we had to do a family theme costume.
- 1:20SPEAKER_03: And then the kids get old enough to have opinions and they don't want to participate in the theme.
- 1:24SPEAKER_01: Oh, I know.
- 1:25SPEAKER_01: It's crazy.
- 1:26SPEAKER_01: Like I've never been a huge costume person anyway.
- 1:30SPEAKER_01: And um so, but that so that was always hard for me.
- 1:34SPEAKER_01: But now I kind of like that my kids are older and I don't really get trick-or-treaters.
- 1:38SPEAKER_01: Like Debbie and I live in the same neighborhood, and there's kind of like this one street that goes around in a circle.
- 1:44SPEAKER_01: So most people trick-or-treat around there.
- 1:46SPEAKER_01: And um, when I used to live on a street where we got more trick-or-treaters, I would just put a table out with my neighbor and we would have fun.
- 1:53SPEAKER_01: And we would just, we did have some people come by.
- 1:56SPEAKER_01: It was like a social hour, and we would give the adults little mini bottles of alcohol, which is probably not good, but that was fun.
- 2:06SPEAKER_01: But now, since I don't have trick-or-treaters, I think I'm gonna start decorating for Christmas.
- 2:10SPEAKER_03: My tree's coming out this weekend.
- 2:12SPEAKER_01: I'm ready.
- 2:13SPEAKER_01: Are you ready?
- 2:13SPEAKER_03: I'm ready.
- 2:14SPEAKER_03: My tree is coming out this weekend.
- 2:16SPEAKER_01: I don't want any haters.
- 2:17SPEAKER_01: Like, if you're not an early decorator, that's fine.
- 2:20SPEAKER_01: But I am an early decorator.
- 2:21SPEAKER_01: I want to have fun and enjoy all the decoration.
- 2:26SPEAKER_01: So I'm ready.
- 2:27SPEAKER_03: Well, and I just feel like it takes so long to get everything set up that I want to be able to enjoy it as long as I possibly can too.
- 2:33SPEAKER_01: Exactly.
- 2:34SPEAKER_01: And this year, like the way Halloween, I mean, well, um, Thanksgiving and Christmas falls.
- 2:39SPEAKER_01: I know it's always similar distance, but it's literally like four weeks away from each other.
- 2:44SPEAKER_01: So I feel like if you wait till Thanksgiving, that's too late.
- 2:46SPEAKER_01: No, and I used to.
- 2:47SPEAKER_03: I used to do like a full fall Thanksgiving decoration spread.
- 2:52SPEAKER_03: And then I'm busting my chops to get that down after Thanksgiving and get Christmas up in time.
- 2:56SPEAKER_03: And then I'm so exhausted from doing all the Christmas stuff that you can enjoy it.
- 3:00SPEAKER_03: So I'm ready to dance.
- 3:02SPEAKER_03: And there's something magical about the twinkling lights everywhere.
- 3:04SPEAKER_01: Yes, I love it.
- 3:05SPEAKER_01: I put them on like as soon as I wake up in the morning.
- 3:07SPEAKER_01: I'm drinking my coffee out of a Christmas mug.
- 3:10SPEAKER_01: I'm ready to go.
- 3:12SPEAKER_01: Um, but back to this dancing with the stars.
- 3:15SPEAKER_01: How did you feel about this theme?
- 3:17SPEAKER_01: The horror nights theme.
- 3:18SPEAKER_01: Horror nights.
- 3:19SPEAKER_03: Well, they do kind of a Halloween y theme every year, which is kind of fun.
- 3:22SPEAKER_03: It's one of my favorite nights because they get to be really creative with their dances.
- 3:27SPEAKER_03: Um, Julianne's look phenomenal.
- 3:30SPEAKER_03: She holds so good.
- 3:33SPEAKER_03: She looked amazing.
- 3:34SPEAKER_03: She looked amazing.
- 3:35SPEAKER_03: I love the extensions, I love the dress, just the makeup, all of it.
- 3:40SPEAKER_03: She looked phenomenal.
- 3:41SPEAKER_01: I do feel like a little bit of an old lady because I was not loving the extreme plunging neckline.
- 3:46SPEAKER_03: No, and part of it's because I can't wear those and look good.
- 3:49SPEAKER_01: Like she looked great.
- 3:50SPEAKER_01: I just think like she's so beautiful anyway.
- 3:52SPEAKER_01: I think the dress didn't have to have that, but she looked so good.
- 3:55SPEAKER_01: I loved the hair.
- 3:57SPEAKER_01: And did you see she posted an Instagram post where she was taking the extensions off?
- 4:04SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 4:04SPEAKER_01: I shared it on our Instagram.
- 4:06SPEAKER_01: And by the way, if you don't follow us on Instagram, we are on Instagram at reality we've got thoughts, and we share a lot of fun extra stuff on there.
- 4:13SPEAKER_01: And I shared it to our stories and put it in our Dancing with the Stars highlights because it also had a housewives reference.
- 4:20SPEAKER_01: The one with the leg that was on Rony.
- 4:22SPEAKER_01: This hasn't nothing fake about me besides my leg.
- 4:27SPEAKER_01: The one that used to be married to Harry Dubin back in the day.
- 4:30SPEAKER_01: So many crossovers.
- 4:32SPEAKER_01: But the hair looked good, the makeup looked amazing.
- 4:36SPEAKER_01: It looked absolutely phenomenal.
- 4:37SPEAKER_03: And then we had a guest stretch this week.
- 4:39SPEAKER_03: It was Shirley Ballis, who, if you are unaware, is Mark Ballis' mother.
- 4:44SPEAKER_03: And back in the day when Julianne and Derek first moved to London, they lived with the Ballases and Shirley trained them.
- 4:50SPEAKER_03: So she's trained a lot of the stars.
- 4:52SPEAKER_03: She also trained Daniela and um Pasha.
- 4:55SPEAKER_03: She's phenomenal, but she is harsh.
- 4:58SPEAKER_03: She is tough.
- 5:02SPEAKER_01: So I think it's wild that she was married originally to one of her dance partners.
- 5:08SPEAKER_01: And he wasn't a dancer.
- 5:09SPEAKER_01: Did you read?
- 5:10SPEAKER_01: Did you know that?
- 5:11SPEAKER_01: No.
- 5:11SPEAKER_03: When they first got married, he was not a dancer.
- 5:13SPEAKER_03: And by the time they've been married, I think, you know, five, ten years, they're winning competitions everywhere.
- 5:19SPEAKER_01: It's crazy because he's that good.
- 5:22SPEAKER_01: So then after that, is that when she married Mark and had Mark, right?
- 5:25SPEAKER_01: She married Mark's dad after that.
- 5:27SPEAKER_01: And then I heard that there was some like big huge competition that she won, and her ex came in second behind her.
- 5:33SPEAKER_01: Like it's crazy.
- 5:34SPEAKER_01: So crazy.
- 5:35SPEAKER_01: And I love Mark.
- 5:36SPEAKER_01: You know, I've talked before about how much I love Mark because I um loved him on traders and I love him on the show.
- 5:41SPEAKER_01: Um and surely she looked gorgeous.
- 5:44SPEAKER_01: She looked great.
- 5:44SPEAKER_01: She does look great.
- 5:45SPEAKER_01: And um she looked really amazing.
- 5:47SPEAKER_01: I thought the troops' outfits were even good when the troop came out and did their their dance.
- 5:52SPEAKER_01: Um the troops have been fun to watch this year.
- 5:54SPEAKER_01: Sometimes they're not as fun to watch, but they've been fun to watch this year.
- 5:57SPEAKER_01: And it's interesting that they've added the fact that they're gonna be included on the tour, which I guess previously they weren't.
- 6:02SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 6:03SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 6:03SPEAKER_01: So um, so she was funny at the beginning when she was like, Um, please don't make me bring out my little friend.
- 6:11SPEAKER_01: And she had the shoe.
- 6:14SPEAKER_01: Thankfully that didn't happen.
- 6:16SPEAKER_01: But she's not against using it though.
- 6:18SPEAKER_03: No, which I love.
- 6:19SPEAKER_03: You know what I love it.
- 6:20SPEAKER_03: I love that she's not afraid to be bold.
- 6:23SPEAKER_03: But I also she definitely has the corner on the Latin market.
- 6:29SPEAKER_03: So I think it would be really cool to do an all-Latin night where everybody does a Latin dance and she's the guest judge for that.
- 6:35SPEAKER_03: Oh, I love that.
- 6:37SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 6:38SPEAKER_01: That's a great idea.
- 6:39SPEAKER_01: I think it would be really cool.
- 6:40SPEAKER_01: It would be really good.
- 6:41SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 6:41SPEAKER_01: Yeah, she scared me, but she but it was very entertaining.
- 6:44SPEAKER_01: And I, you know.
- 6:45SPEAKER_01: So before we get started, I will say I don't like horror movies.
- 6:50SPEAKER_01: I'm not big on Halloween, so I was freaked out by a lot of this stuff, and I was freaked out by certain things as we go along.
- 6:58SPEAKER_03: So, but over and I'm in the same boat.
- 7:00SPEAKER_03: I cannot stand horror movies.
- 7:02SPEAKER_03: I've never liked them.
- 7:04SPEAKER_03: When I was 12 years old, I was babysitting for a family, and it was at the grandparents' house, so I was unfamiliar with the house, but they had HBO, and we were not allowed to have HBO in our home.
- 7:13SPEAKER_03: And Poltergeist came on.
- 7:14SPEAKER_03: So I, like an idiot at 12 years old, watched poltergeist in this strange home by myself.
- 7:20SPEAKER_03: I have never been more terrified in my life, but I've never been able to watch since.
- 7:25SPEAKER_01: Oh my god, I love it.
- 7:26SPEAKER_01: I love it.
- 7:27SPEAKER_03: So yeah, so watching it, I mean, granted, it's dance and it's it's kind of theatrical, but it still freaks me out.
- 7:35SPEAKER_03: Anyway, let's get into it.
- 7:36SPEAKER_03: Let's get into it.
- 7:37SPEAKER_03: Our first couple was Julia and Ezra.
- 7:39SPEAKER_03: They did an Argentine tango to the song from Omen.
- 7:43SPEAKER_03: I did not love it.
- 7:45SPEAKER_03: It was not her best dance, I didn't think.
- 7:47SPEAKER_03: I felt like it was shaky and it was slow.
- 7:49SPEAKER_03: I did later learn that because of her injuries, she had a rib injury that week that they had to realign their choreography, like re-choreograph at the last minute to accommodate her injury, which would make sense why it was so slow to me.
- 8:04SPEAKER_01: Well, and do you think that's why, like when they showed in the package that they were kind of really getting into it, like she was he was pushing her and she literally like started giving him feedback about how to coach her.
- 8:17SPEAKER_01: Yes.
- 8:17SPEAKER_01: Like, I don't worked for me.
- 8:19SPEAKER_01: Right.
- 8:20SPEAKER_01: She was like, um, you need to get more sleep because you're being a cranky bitch when you're tired.
- 8:25SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 8:27SPEAKER_01: And I was like, Yeah, she was, she was not.
- 8:29SPEAKER_03: I mean, think about we're we're this far into the season.
- 8:32SPEAKER_03: These athletes are pushing themselves so hard.
- 8:35SPEAKER_03: And some of them aren't even athletes, but they are pushing themselves so so hard and their bodies just are not used to it.
- 8:41SPEAKER_03: They're all coming up with injuries.
- 8:42SPEAKER_01: She even said in the interview, you've got to remember I'm 45 years old and and all that.
- 8:47SPEAKER_01: Um, so it was it was crazy.
- 8:50SPEAKER_01: To her because I don't know that I could get out and do what she's doing at 45 years old.
- 8:54SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 8:54SPEAKER_01: So what do you think?
- 8:55SPEAKER_03: It's so you thought it was slow.
- 8:56SPEAKER_03: I thought it was slow.
- 8:58SPEAKER_03: Um, the judges liked it, but they didn't love it.
- 9:01SPEAKER_03: Um, surely gave her a four.
- 9:03SPEAKER_03: She said it needed sharper, controlled legs, and it wasn't fast enough.
- 9:06SPEAKER_03: So surely agreed that it wasn't fast enough.
- 9:09SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 9:09SPEAKER_01: It was very theatrical.
- 9:11SPEAKER_01: And that was like you said, that makes this night entertaining because a lot of them are very theatrical.
- 9:15SPEAKER_01: But this is definitely not the episode for me.
- 9:18SPEAKER_01: I don't like the Halloween songs, I don't like the scary music, it's not my jam.
- 9:22SPEAKER_01: I didn't like her makeup, I didn't like her costume.
- 9:25SPEAKER_01: I sound worse than Shirley Ballast.
- 9:27SPEAKER_01: And she looked pissed.
- 9:28SPEAKER_01: Didn't Julia look pissed?
- 9:30SPEAKER_01: She did.
- 9:30SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 9:31SPEAKER_03: And maybe she was in pain for all we know.
- 9:32SPEAKER_03: She she got a rude awakening from Shirley.
- 9:34SPEAKER_01: Yeah, Ezra did not look happy when they were up on the balcony.
- 9:37SPEAKER_01: He did not know and did you see the other judges' faces too, though, when Shirley put up her four and the other judges were like, oh, everybody's around.
- 9:45SPEAKER_01: Everybody's been reposting that.
- 9:46SPEAKER_01: I think Shirley even reposted it because yeah, that was that.
- 9:50SPEAKER_01: I loved it.
- 9:50SPEAKER_02: I loved it.
- 9:51SPEAKER_03: Oh well.
- 9:52SPEAKER_03: I love it.
- 9:53SPEAKER_03: All right.
- 9:54SPEAKER_03: So moving on to Harry and Jenna.
- 9:56SPEAKER_03: They did Contemporary, which is inspired by the movie Saw, which let's talk about that for a minute because Ezra's mom was in the Saw series.
- 10:07SPEAKER_03: So why they didn't assign Ezra to the movie Saw, I will never understand.
- 10:12SPEAKER_03: It's interesting how they picked.
- 10:14SPEAKER_01: That's what I was wondering.
- 10:15SPEAKER_03: Yeah, there's a lot of chatter online about why Ezra didn't get the movie Saw.
- 10:21SPEAKER_03: But I was blown away by this one.
- 10:24SPEAKER_03: Blown away.
- 10:26SPEAKER_03: The Jenna's choreography was unreal.
- 10:30SPEAKER_03: I loved it.
- 10:32SPEAKER_03: Everything about it, the kids' storytelling, the choreography, their chemistry with each other.
- 10:38SPEAKER_03: It was like it they finished, and I was like, wow, I've got to rewind and watch that one again.
- 10:42SPEAKER_01: It was so good.
- 10:44SPEAKER_01: It was so good.
- 10:45SPEAKER_01: And the judges obviously thought the same thing.
- 10:47SPEAKER_01: Right.
- 10:48SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 10:49SPEAKER_03: For straight 10s, the first couple that get a straight 10 that season.
- 10:53SPEAKER_01: 40 out of 40.
- 10:54SPEAKER_01: And Jenna said, Shirley, I'm going to remember this for the rest of my life.
- 10:58SPEAKER_01: Um, you know, and Shirley was so positive since she had never seen anything like that in her life.
- 11:04SPEAKER_01: Um, Carrie Ann was like, Bravo, this is the contemporary we've been waiting for.
- 11:08SPEAKER_01: It made me tear up.
- 11:09SPEAKER_01: I was like, okay, Carrie Ann, that's a little much.
- 11:12SPEAKER_01: Like she's still kind of overdoing it.
- 11:13SPEAKER_01: Yeah, she is overcompensating with her.
- 11:16SPEAKER_01: Um, so yeah, it was just, it was that good.
- 11:19SPEAKER_03: Yeah, I loved it.
- 11:21SPEAKER_03: There was nothing about it I didn't like.
- 11:22SPEAKER_03: Now her okay, maybe Jenna's costume, the whole like targets on her bra were a little distracting, I thought, but everything else about it was wonderful.
- 11:33SPEAKER_00: Which I guess they said that was from something from the movie, right?
- 11:36SPEAKER_00: So it had a tie into the movie.
- 11:38SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 11:38SPEAKER_03: So yeah, that was a great one.
- 11:40SPEAKER_03: Tatiana and Yan did a pasta doble inspired by Sinners.
- 11:46SPEAKER_03: She looks so good.
- 11:47SPEAKER_03: Fierce and entertaining.
- 11:49SPEAKER_03: She looks good.
- 11:50SPEAKER_03: It was still not my favorite that she's done.
- 11:53SPEAKER_01: I freaked out when she ripped that skin off his face.
- 11:55SPEAKER_01: I wanted to throw up.
- 11:57SPEAKER_01: I mean, uh yeah, like I said, this was hard for me.
- 12:00SPEAKER_01: Just dick.
- 12:01SPEAKER_01: I agreed with Shirley when she said no recognizable pots of double.
- 12:05SPEAKER_01: I did too, because I didn't love it.
- 12:07SPEAKER_01: It wasn't my favorite that she's done.
- 12:08SPEAKER_01: Yeah, because I've always been saying that.
- 12:10SPEAKER_01: I feel like it's so many times with the dances.
- 12:12SPEAKER_01: And especially when, you know, he even said, We're doing a Latin dance, and she, you know, with her and um so it, you know.
- 12:21SPEAKER_01: I don't know.
- 12:21SPEAKER_03: I feel like that's a little bit of a slam on Jan that Shirley said I didn't see any recognized because he's the choreographer.
- 12:29SPEAKER_03: I was just going along.
- 12:30SPEAKER_03: However, her movement is what made it not a possibility, too.
- 12:34SPEAKER_01: Yes, and they did give her some really good specific feedback.
- 12:38SPEAKER_01: They liked her performance, but they did give her some stuff.
- 12:41SPEAKER_01: And she looked mad too.
- 12:43SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 12:43SPEAKER_01: She left there looking really mad.
- 12:45SPEAKER_03: And I mean, I would be mad for any low scores.
- 12:48SPEAKER_03: She gotta, again, Shirley gave her a four.
- 12:50SPEAKER_03: Um, and I think that's probably where the anger came from.
- 12:53SPEAKER_03: But you could be mad too when you work that hard all week and you go out there and give it your best, and then you get just ripped apart.
- 13:01SPEAKER_01: Well, yeah, and I know that they all were prepared about Shirley.
- 13:04SPEAKER_01: Um, and you know, they were trying to get this, but I mean, this lady makes Simon Cowell look like a kid cat.
- 13:11SPEAKER_01: Like she is tough.
- 13:12SPEAKER_03: I mean, she's right up there with Len from when Dancing with the Stars first came out, and Len, Len was just as harsh as they come, and he would just tell it how it is.
- 13:20SPEAKER_03: She's right up there with Lynn.
- 13:21SPEAKER_01: And I can see being harsh on professional dancers who are doing this as a profession, but I did kind of feel bad for some of the celebrities at the agreed.
- 13:32SPEAKER_02: Agreed.
- 13:34SPEAKER_03: Anyway, moving on next, Jenna and Val did the Argentine tango, and it was inspired by Val at the very beginning in their little clips.
- 13:45SPEAKER_03: Val apologizes to Jenna for getting suspended.
- 13:49SPEAKER_03: They hug, hug it out, it's great.
- 13:51SPEAKER_03: Um, I think that apology kind of opened up their communication with each other because I feel like they've had a little, like we saw when she danced with Alan, the chemistry that was on the dance floor with Alan.
- 14:04SPEAKER_03: I felt like that chemistry carried over and was with Val this week.
- 14:07SPEAKER_03: I thought it was a beautiful pain go.
- 14:11SPEAKER_01: That lift-flip thing was insane.
- 14:13SPEAKER_01: The choreography was ridiculous.
- 14:15SPEAKER_01: It was ridiculous.
- 14:16SPEAKER_03: And this is where her flexibility and her background as a dancer really came into play for her.
- 14:21SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 14:21SPEAKER_03: And really helped her, I think.
- 14:23SPEAKER_03: It was phenomenal.
- 14:24SPEAKER_01: She's got a genetic issue with her upper back.
- 14:26SPEAKER_01: And she said the hard thing is like every time going upside down, she feels a sharp pain.
- 14:30SPEAKER_01: I was like, you would never know from the way she performed.
- 14:33SPEAKER_01: You would never know.
- 14:34SPEAKER_01: Um, okay.
- 14:35SPEAKER_01: What about at the end when he like I was so grossed out when he was chewing on her neck?
- 14:41SPEAKER_01: And I guess he was even saying what's weird to me is it was like really gross and uncomfortable and creepy the way he gnawed on.
- 14:48SPEAKER_01: What did you think?
- 14:49SPEAKER_03: Yeah, well, it makes sense now.
- 14:51SPEAKER_03: You could there was a blood pack that was supposed to explode and it wasn't exploding.
- 14:54SPEAKER_03: So he's sitting there trying to get the blood pack.
- 14:56SPEAKER_03: He wasn't necessarily gnawing on her neck, but the way the angle of the cameras looked like he was literally gnawing on her neck.
- 15:03SPEAKER_01: And it's weird because did you see there was a interview with them where he was saying that the pack was in his pocket and he couldn't get out of his pocket?
- 15:12SPEAKER_01: I'm like, but that doesn't make sense.
- 15:14SPEAKER_01: Maybe he meant at first he couldn't get out of his pocket.
- 15:16SPEAKER_01: No, he couldn't get it to explode.
- 15:18SPEAKER_01: But then she acted like she didn't know about that.
- 15:20SPEAKER_01: In this interview I saw, she was like, Oh, I didn't realize like, so maybe he was gonna surprise her with that.
- 15:26SPEAKER_01: I don't know.
- 15:27SPEAKER_03: Did she act like she didn't know about the blood pack or she didn't know that he was like hung up on her neck for so long?
- 15:32SPEAKER_01: I don't know.
- 15:33SPEAKER_03: I don't know, because they were so into the dance.
- 15:35SPEAKER_03: It was it's it's very unfortunate that her heel got caught on her dress.
- 15:39SPEAKER_03: She recovered phenomenally well from it because I believe that they deserved all the pens, even with that pickup.
- 15:46SPEAKER_03: Because it was phenomenal.
- 15:48SPEAKER_03: And coming from Tata, my dancer, that was by far her favorite dancer.
- 15:52SPEAKER_03: She was definitely her favorite one of the whole night.
- 15:54SPEAKER_03: Yep.
- 15:55SPEAKER_01: Yeah, and well, Derek said that that was one of the best Argentine tangos that he's ever seen on this floor.
- 16:00SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 16:00SPEAKER_01: So that's a pretty good, you know.
- 16:02SPEAKER_01: Um, you know, the Carrie Ann even said incredible choreography, Val.
- 16:07SPEAKER_01: Again, I think she's like trying to overcompensate, but it was delivered it, absolute perfection.
- 16:13SPEAKER_01: She talked about the stumble, but the dance as a whole was, you know, perfection.
- 16:18SPEAKER_01: I thought it was really good.
- 16:19SPEAKER_01: So yeah.
- 16:21SPEAKER_03: And it wasn't creepy, except the lying on the neck.
- 16:24SPEAKER_01: The dance itself was not creepy.
- 16:26SPEAKER_01: I couldn't get over the butt you know.
- 16:28SPEAKER_01: Hey, it gives us something to talk about.
- 16:30SPEAKER_01: It does.
- 16:31SPEAKER_01: That's one thing.
- 16:32SPEAKER_01: About, you know, so far this season, he's certainly given us a lot to talk about.
- 16:35SPEAKER_03: I mean, if they're not talking about you, something's wrong, right?
- 16:38SPEAKER_03: So let's move on to Connor and Riley.
- 16:41SPEAKER_03: They did a did a contemporary inspired by Annabelle.
- 16:44SPEAKER_03: This one was creepy.
- 16:46SPEAKER_03: However, contemporary is Connor's dance.
- 16:49SPEAKER_03: He nailed that sucker.
- 16:51SPEAKER_03: It was so good.
- 16:52SPEAKER_03: Great, the storytelling, Riley's choreography, unbelievable, super impressive.
- 16:59SPEAKER_01: I'm telling you that before I've been a little bit critical of him, and I thought it was excellent.
- 17:05SPEAKER_01: He was perfection.
- 17:07SPEAKER_01: He did such a good job with it, right?
- 17:09SPEAKER_01: It was like so good.
- 17:11SPEAKER_01: And even though I don't like horror movies or creepy stuff, the storytelling was amazing.
- 17:16SPEAKER_01: The choreography was insane.
- 17:18SPEAKER_01: Like, bravo to Riley.
- 17:20SPEAKER_01: And like he earned his place in this competition with this dance.
- 17:24SPEAKER_03: When people he was struggling until he just nailed that routine, his little flip over the couch.
- 17:31SPEAKER_03: Bravo.
- 17:31SPEAKER_03: It was so good where she like broke his neck at the end.
- 17:34SPEAKER_03: And Riley played off of his strengths this week so well.
- 17:39SPEAKER_03: I loved it.
- 17:40SPEAKER_01: In my opinion, this was definitely his best dance of the competition so far.
- 17:43SPEAKER_01: And it propelled him up into a level of somebody that I feel like could make it a lot further.
- 17:48SPEAKER_01: Agreed.
- 17:49SPEAKER_01: And he got two tens.
- 17:51SPEAKER_01: Amazing.
- 17:51SPEAKER_01: Amazing.
- 17:52SPEAKER_01: Shirley gave him an eight, Derek a 10, Bruno a nine, and Carrie Ann gave him a 10.
- 17:57SPEAKER_01: Carrie Ann said, Connor, I crown you the contemporary king.
- 18:01unknown: Hello.
- 18:02SPEAKER_03: Well done.
- 18:03SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 18:04SPEAKER_03: See, I I've said this before.
- 18:05SPEAKER_03: Contemporary is probably my favorite because you can be so expressive and creative in your contemporary dance.
- 18:11SPEAKER_03: Um it's just my favorite to watch, I think.
- 18:15SPEAKER_03: So nailed it.
- 18:16SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 18:17SPEAKER_03: Great.
- 18:17SPEAKER_03: So good.
- 18:18SPEAKER_03: All right.
- 18:18SPEAKER_03: Moving on to Ezra and Daniela, who did a jazz number inspired by the invisible man.
- 18:24SPEAKER_03: And it kind of starts out with in their little one-on-one that he's got a blister on his stump, which I can't even imagine.
- 18:32SPEAKER_03: It's hard enough to walk with a blister on your foot, but having to put your prosthetic on and the rubbing that happens just from all the movement with the prosthetic, I can't even imagine how much pain he was in all week long and even during the dance, which I didn't feel like it was his strongest dance.
- 18:49SPEAKER_03: At all.
- 18:50SPEAKER_03: No, and it's like the judges said he was so focused on just plugging through the pain that he couldn't fully immerse himself in the dance.
- 18:58SPEAKER_01: Yeah, he continues to be so inspiring because you heard him.
- 19:02SPEAKER_01: He said normally this is something that's very common with amputees.
- 19:05SPEAKER_01: And he said normally he would take a what do you say, like two days of just not wearing his leg.
- 19:10SPEAKER_01: And obviously that wasn't an option here.
- 19:12SPEAKER_01: And I'm like, gosh, that was amazing.
- 19:15SPEAKER_01: Um, you know, it did, it seemed very sloppy to me.
- 19:19SPEAKER_01: Um, you know, I know it's jazz, I am not a dance coach, so I didn't know if that was, you know, really um so I was really interested to see what Shirley and the other judges were gonna say.
- 19:29SPEAKER_01: And I and then they ultimately kind of agreed with me, like it was not, it was not his best.
- 19:34SPEAKER_01: Um I loved the song.
- 19:35SPEAKER_01: That's that one took me back.
- 19:37SPEAKER_03: Tatum did a solo to that song years ago.
- 19:40SPEAKER_03: And so when it started up, she even texted me when she was watching.
- 19:42SPEAKER_03: She's like, I never thought I'd hear this song at Dancing Test.
- 19:45SPEAKER_03: And that was that was fun for me to see that.
- 19:47SPEAKER_03: It was fun.
- 19:48SPEAKER_03: Oh my gosh.
- 19:49SPEAKER_03: But yeah, not my favorite for Ezra, but I still think it was very, very good.
- 19:53SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 19:54SPEAKER_03: Um, and maybe you know what, maybe Daniela really, because I felt like the choreography wasn't even up to Daniela bubble.
- 20:00SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 20:01SPEAKER_03: So maybe she had to tone it down just to accommodate that injury.
- 20:04SPEAKER_03: And Tana pointed out to me that jazz is probably the hardest dance for him with movement with his prosthetically.
- 20:12SPEAKER_03: Yeah, just the foot movement and everything else, probably the hardest thing for him with his prosthetic is the jazz.
- 20:18SPEAKER_03: So good to know.
- 20:19SPEAKER_03: And moving on, Jackson and Emma did a contemporary inspired by the Joker.
- 20:24SPEAKER_03: I felt like this was his best dance yet.
- 20:27SPEAKER_00: It was so good, even though it was really good.
- 20:31SPEAKER_00: It was creepy.
- 20:32SPEAKER_00: I hate the Joker.
- 20:33SPEAKER_00: I hate the Joker.
- 20:34SPEAKER_00: I hated I hated clowns.
- 20:35SPEAKER_03: My whole the choreography was great.
- 20:39SPEAKER_03: He played the role so well.
- 20:42SPEAKER_03: It really was his best dance yet.
- 20:44SPEAKER_03: Yes.
- 20:45SPEAKER_03: And even when Derek said, I hate clowns, but love that performance.
- 20:48SPEAKER_01: The judges were very nice to him and they liked it.
- 20:51SPEAKER_01: They um, you know, he Carrie Ann said it was weird in a good way to see you embody this character.
- 20:57SPEAKER_01: Um, Bruno said Joker is your trunk card.
- 21:01SPEAKER_01: And he got all nines.
- 21:03SPEAKER_01: He did.
- 21:03SPEAKER_01: Because he only got 35 out of 40.
- 21:05SPEAKER_02: Okay.
- 21:06SPEAKER_02: So, but it was still like I felt like this was gonna save Jackson.
- 21:10SPEAKER_02: Yeah, it was good.
- 21:12SPEAKER_03: So all right.
- 21:13SPEAKER_03: Next up is Tyler Infrana.
- 21:15SPEAKER_03: Did a Biennese wall to inspired by Brahm Stoker's Dracula.
- 21:20SPEAKER_03: I couldn't get past his hair.
- 21:22SPEAKER_03: I know he was playing the character from the movie The Outfit, the hair.
- 21:26SPEAKER_03: I just couldn't get past any of that because he looked so awful to me.
- 21:30SPEAKER_03: The outfit was hideous.
- 21:31SPEAKER_03: The outfit was hideous, the dance did did nothing for me.
- 21:35SPEAKER_01: So, what about wasn't it funny?
- 21:37SPEAKER_01: Like this is kind of an aside.
- 21:39SPEAKER_01: Even he looks like he's lost weight, doesn't he?
- 21:41SPEAKER_01: Yes, I think all of them have it's crazy how intense this is for them.
- 21:47SPEAKER_01: And um and he act probably actually looks better than he did at first because he's probably like too big.
- 21:52SPEAKER_01: Um, he's just a big tall guy, obviously.
- 21:55SPEAKER_01: But um, but I agree, I agree with you.
- 21:58SPEAKER_01: It just um It did nothing for me.
- 22:00SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 22:02SPEAKER_01: The yeah.
- 22:03SPEAKER_03: Even Carrie Ann said, I didn't think the acting was great.
- 22:05SPEAKER_01: No.
- 22:06SPEAKER_01: He was unrecognizable in that outfit.
- 22:08SPEAKER_01: Um, he they had technical um points for him.
- 22:13SPEAKER_01: You know, his frame was off.
- 22:15SPEAKER_03: He didn't Derek, I think Bruno said, Don't lean in because you lose you lose the frame when you lean in.
- 22:22SPEAKER_01: Yeah, he's still this far in the competition.
- 22:24SPEAKER_01: He's still having a problem with technical aspects.
- 22:27SPEAKER_01: He looks a little more comfortable than he did, but that's not saying much because he just is so awkward on the floor.
- 22:32SPEAKER_01: That was not my favorite.
- 22:33SPEAKER_01: No, no.
- 22:35SPEAKER_03: All right, moving on to Amber and Pasha.
- 22:38SPEAKER_03: They did the RJ.
- 22:39SPEAKER_03: Tango inspired by the Black Swan, and she said she has been waiting the whole season to dance to this song because she feels like she's always been the black swan because there's so much pressure put on you as an athlete and to perform.
- 22:51SPEAKER_03: And I don't know if you ever saw the movie, but that's kind of the theme of the movie.
- 22:55SPEAKER_03: So it was it was entertaining to me, but I also was kind of bored.
- 23:01SPEAKER_01: I mean, maybe because I I was like, I thought that it was perfection.
- 23:06SPEAKER_01: It's weird that for me, this was my favorite of the night.
- 23:09SPEAKER_01: Oh, interesting.
- 23:10SPEAKER_01: Weirdly, I loved her outfits, I love the music, I love the choreography, I love the lighting, possibly in my notes that possibly my favorite.
- 23:19SPEAKER_01: Interesting.
- 23:20SPEAKER_01: I just isn't that funny.
- 23:21SPEAKER_03: It is because I was kind of pretty bored by I didn't think it was her best dance.
- 23:24SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 23:25SPEAKER_01: And see, you so it's just funny how things hit differently.
- 23:28SPEAKER_01: But again, I admit that I'm not like I don't really know what I'm looking at.
- 23:33SPEAKER_01: It's just like my personal gut.
- 23:35SPEAKER_01: I'm not a dancer either.
- 23:36SPEAKER_01: I just you've watched the show a lot more seasons than I have.
- 23:41SPEAKER_01: You had a dancer, all that.
- 23:43SPEAKER_01: Um, and again, this comes back to wondering can she win?
- 23:48SPEAKER_01: Do we think that Amber can win?
- 23:51SPEAKER_02: I think she's gonna be up there.
- 23:53SPEAKER_02: She's gonna be up there, right?
- 23:54SPEAKER_02: Yeah, we'll see.
- 23:56SPEAKER_03: I mean, she got straight nines from the judges, which uh I wondered if Shirley would purposely give them a low score just so it didn't show favoritism because Mark is her son.
- 24:09SPEAKER_03: I'm sorry, no, wait, no, you're not there.
- 24:11SPEAKER_03: She gave she Shirley gave them a seven.
- 24:14SPEAKER_03: The judges liked it from a judging standpoint.
- 24:19SPEAKER_02: I was just bored.
- 24:21SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 24:22SPEAKER_01: Um the it's funny because Julianne asked her a weird question about the competition.
- 24:30SPEAKER_01: At the end, did you notice that?
- 24:32SPEAKER_01: Julianne like sometimes asked these, this was her weird question of the night for me about like at this point in the competition.
- 24:38SPEAKER_01: And I thought Amber handled it so well because she just said like how amazed she's like, Yeah, everyone that's still here, everyone that's here is so amazing and people have improved so much.
- 24:48SPEAKER_01: Like, she was so positive.
- 24:50SPEAKER_01: It's um, I have definitely gotten to like her more as the weeks have gone on.
- 24:54SPEAKER_03: Yes, yes.
- 24:55SPEAKER_03: And um her response to Julianne's question could have shown a completely like unfriendly side of her.
- 25:05SPEAKER_03: She handled it greatly.
- 25:06SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 25:07SPEAKER_00: I agree with you on that one.
- 25:08SPEAKER_01: She's really grown on me.
- 25:09SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 25:10SPEAKER_01: Um her contacts threw me off.
- 25:14SPEAKER_03: They were crazy.
- 25:15SPEAKER_03: Really crazy.
- 25:16SPEAKER_03: And I can't even like, how do you see normal?
- 25:20SPEAKER_03: I don't know, right?
- 25:21SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I've never made your contacts like that so far.
- 25:24SPEAKER_01: I don't even like my regular contacts, so I can't even imagine.
- 25:27SPEAKER_01: Cannot even imagine.
- 25:29SPEAKER_01: Anyway.
- 25:30SPEAKER_01: Oh, but it was funny because you know how Pasha said that he he could picture himself at the Met ball and the outfit gal.
- 25:36SPEAKER_01: And I agree with that.
- 25:36SPEAKER_01: I totally agree with it.
- 25:38SPEAKER_01: Oh my god.
- 25:38SPEAKER_01: Yeah, that's what I think maybe that's what from the very beginning.
- 25:41SPEAKER_01: I just loved the outfits.
- 25:42SPEAKER_01: And beforehand, they did that little Sephora plug that they all have the Sephora glam room and everything.
- 25:48SPEAKER_01: And that was kind of neat to see the behind-the-scenes thing of that.
- 25:52SPEAKER_01: But um, but yeah, it was great.
- 25:55SPEAKER_01: It's interesting.
- 25:56SPEAKER_01: All right.
- 25:57SPEAKER_03: Last one of the night was Mora and Mark.
- 26:00SPEAKER_03: And this is where I felt like Shirley was gonna maybe purposely judge Sam really, really harsh just because Mark is her son and she was gonna be more critical.
- 26:08SPEAKER_03: Um, they did a contemporary um inspired by The Lost Boys.
- 26:13SPEAKER_03: Uh, the I thought the choreography was fantastic.
- 26:17SPEAKER_02: Mark is just so good and it flowed.
- 26:21SPEAKER_02: I think more is a beautiful dancer.
- 26:24SPEAKER_02: I think she nailed it.
- 26:26SPEAKER_03: Uh Bruno told them that they made the horrible look beautiful.
- 26:31SPEAKER_03: Carrie Ann said it was very poetic to her.
- 26:33SPEAKER_03: You make everything alluring and beautiful.
- 26:38SPEAKER_03: Truly's comment was it's a powerful pivot, but you need to put pivot the foot a little bit more for flow.
- 26:43SPEAKER_03: Got her little shoe out and showed her.
- 26:44SPEAKER_03: And I didn't even see what she was talking about when they were dancing.
- 26:46SPEAKER_03: I just thought it was beautiful.
- 26:49SPEAKER_01: I just think Mora is not improving that much.
- 26:52SPEAKER_01: Like, I well, I guess maybe because she's already good, and you know, I'm a fan.
- 26:56SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 26:56SPEAKER_01: But um, and I guess maybe they did purposely put Mark at the end.
- 27:01SPEAKER_01: Like all through the show, I kept thinking, like, I know that obviously Shirley Ballis is who she is, but almost like, how is it fair to have someone's mom there?
- 27:08SPEAKER_01: But if anything, like you said, she was gonna give a lower score.
- 27:11SPEAKER_01: Uh, but again, she's trained a lot of those dancers.
- 27:14SPEAKER_01: So she knows.
- 27:15SPEAKER_01: Yeah, so it's not just him.
- 27:16SPEAKER_01: She's not just him, she's trained a lot of those dancers.
- 27:19SPEAKER_01: Um, they all did give a little bit of a critique.
- 27:22SPEAKER_01: They they gave positive things, but they all did critique a little bit about the dance.
- 27:27SPEAKER_01: And I I almost didn't think they even deserved as high a scores as they got.
- 27:32SPEAKER_01: Um, you know.
- 27:34SPEAKER_02: But as far as progressing in the show.
- 27:37SPEAKER_01: Yeah, yeah.
- 27:38SPEAKER_02: I mean, did you like that?
- 27:40SPEAKER_01: I I agree.
- 27:41SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 27:42SPEAKER_01: Um, so it was interesting because when it came down to the end, Harry was in first place with 76 with the scoring of the two nights.
- 27:51SPEAKER_01: They put the two nights together, because as we know, there was no elimination last week.
- 27:55SPEAKER_01: And then Amber and Pasha had 74 along with Jenna and Val.
- 27:59SPEAKER_01: They were tied for second.
- 28:01SPEAKER_01: Then in fourth place was Ezra and Daniela with 72.
- 28:06SPEAKER_01: Connor was in fifth place and Riley with 69, and then Mora and Mark and Jackson and Emma were actually tied for sixth with 67 combined for the two nights.
- 28:19SPEAKER_01: And then Julia Stiles had 62, Tatiana had 60, and Tyler had 58 for the two nights.
- 28:27SPEAKER_01: And I think that I was I was actually predicting that Julia might be one of the next to go.
- 28:34SPEAKER_01: I predicted Julia and Tyler.
- 28:36SPEAKER_01: That was my prediction as well.
- 28:38SPEAKER_03: So Or Tatiana.
- 28:40SPEAKER_03: I thought Tatiana, this might be Tatiana's week.
- 28:42SPEAKER_01: Yes, even though I have enjoyed her and I think she's improved.
- 28:45SPEAKER_01: Um, I definitely thought that she was in danger.
- 28:50SPEAKER_00: I thought definitely Tyler needed to go.
- 28:53SPEAKER_03: Um but yeah, I thought either it was gonna be Julia or Tatiana.
- 28:57SPEAKER_01: So they got down, they kept going, and they got down to the three that they had standing there at the end were Tatiana, Jackson, and Tyler.
- 29:10SPEAKER_01: What did you think was gonna happen?
- 29:12SPEAKER_03: I when it was those three, I thought it would be Tatiana and Tyler going home.
- 29:17SPEAKER_03: I was so sad for Jackson.
- 29:20SPEAKER_03: So, so sad because I felt like this was his strongest week yet.
- 29:24SPEAKER_03: Yeah, he didn't leave on it, and I really wanted to see him in the Disney night.
- 29:28SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 29:29SPEAKER_01: Um, when they said that the dancer who will be coming back is Tatiana.
- 29:34SPEAKER_01: I was just like, no.
- 29:36SPEAKER_01: I was so sad.
- 29:37SPEAKER_01: I was very sad.
- 29:38SPEAKER_03: I wanted But if you remember, they took the scores from last week and this week combined, and that's how they determined who got.
- 29:46SPEAKER_01: And so it would be the voting also.
- 29:48SPEAKER_03: So the fan voting as well.
- 29:50SPEAKER_03: So clearly last week was not Jackson's best week.
- 29:53SPEAKER_01: So But score wise, but that's what I was saying.
- 29:56SPEAKER_01: Like he actually was tied with Mora, and he had a 67, and so but the votes.
- 30:01SPEAKER_01: Hey, it is what it is.
- 30:03SPEAKER_01: He's gone.
- 30:05SPEAKER_01: We know that it's been very emotional for him.
- 30:08SPEAKER_01: He posted a lot about people being very mean to him online, which is so disgusting to me.
- 30:13SPEAKER_01: I don't get it.
- 30:14SPEAKER_03: I I don't understand internet warriors that just get this confidence behind a keyboard and feel like they can say whatever they want to say, no matter how ugly or hurtful or mean it is.
- 30:24SPEAKER_03: I just don't get it.
- 30:25SPEAKER_01: He wanted to be on this show for so long, and I feel like this experience was definitely tainted for him based on all that.
- 30:35SPEAKER_03: I agree.
- 30:36SPEAKER_03: But I think he's made some good friendships through this.
- 30:38SPEAKER_03: Yes.
- 30:39SPEAKER_03: I think they've all become very good friends.
- 30:41SPEAKER_03: I mean, you have to be when you spend that much time with each other.
- 30:43SPEAKER_03: And if you notice the way when they're all standing there, while they're all waiting for the judge's scores, they cheer each other on.
- 30:50SPEAKER_03: There's no one like rolling their eyes at someone's score.
- 30:53SPEAKER_03: They're cheering each other on and celebrating each other's wins, which I think is really cool.
- 30:58SPEAKER_01: I do think so.
- 30:59SPEAKER_01: We heard, yeah, there's it's it, I do think it's a very good, good atmosphere there.
- 31:04SPEAKER_02: I agree.
- 31:05SPEAKER_01: So it's really good.
- 31:07SPEAKER_01: So we're getting down to it here.
- 31:08SPEAKER_01: We're getting down to We're whittling down.
- 31:11SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 31:12SPEAKER_01: So there's not that many left.
- 31:13SPEAKER_01: When do we wanna do we wanna make any predictions yet?
- 31:16SPEAKER_01: Or is it too?
- 31:18SPEAKER_01: I mean, I haven't been shy about him.
- 31:20SPEAKER_02: My favorite is this season.
- 31:23SPEAKER_03: I would like to see take it all.
- 31:25SPEAKER_03: I think Ezra and Dan Keller are gonna take it all.
- 31:27SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 31:27SPEAKER_03: I I just think what he's been able to do and um how how inspirational his whole story is, I think that's gonna throw Marcus Hearts.
- 31:39SPEAKER_01: He's amazing.
- 31:40SPEAKER_01: So since you picked him, I'll just go ahead and pick Amber.
- 31:45SPEAKER_01: But she might be the black swan.
- 31:49SPEAKER_01: Because it, you know, so it'll be interesting.
- 31:51SPEAKER_01: And I now think that Connor could be way down to the end.
- 31:55SPEAKER_01: I think Connor's got a chance to carry through.
- 31:58SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I agree.
- 31:59SPEAKER_01: So do you think that possibly Ezra, Harry, Connor, and and um Muri's gonna go for her too.
- 32:08SPEAKER_01: I don't know.
- 32:09SPEAKER_01: I kind of think that next might be Tatiana.
- 32:13SPEAKER_01: I think Tatiana's gonna be next to go.
- 32:15SPEAKER_01: Connor.
- 32:16SPEAKER_01: I mean not Connor, Tatiana.
- 32:19SPEAKER_01: So you think Julia will go before Tatiana?
- 32:21SPEAKER_02: Julia will go before Tatiana.
- 32:24SPEAKER_01: And then I just have a feeling.
- 32:25SPEAKER_02: I think Mora like did like I I agree with that.
- 32:31SPEAKER_02: I love her.
- 32:32SPEAKER_02: I think she I just really love her personality.
- 32:37SPEAKER_03: I love how she portrays herself to the camera.
