- 1:25Speaker 3: Basketball and they are wearing a whist So, yeah, it's
- 1:28Speaker 3: too bad, But what did you expect.
- 1:30Speaker 4: It's a podcast called twenty.
- 1:32Speaker 1: Five whistling line. We actually have the singer of the jingle,
- 1:40Speaker 1: Brandon Ray and studio with that's.
- 1:42Speaker 5: Well, what a day? What a day?
- 1:45Speaker 3: Wow?
- 1:46Speaker 1: Did you know how popular you aren't sport in the
- 1:48Speaker 1: sports world. I have no idea. It's say it's a
- 1:51Speaker 1: finding Sugarman. Yes, that's a great documentary. The guy has
- 1:56Speaker 1: no idea. Yeah that he is super famous in South
- 1:59Speaker 1: that's South Africa and Brandon put the guitar down, did okay? Yeah,
- 2:09Speaker 1: that documentary. If you've not seen it, who has seen it?
- 2:12Speaker 1: I've heard about it. I haven't seen it. I want
- 2:16Speaker 1: to dude, you have to watch it. You especially have
- 2:18Speaker 1: to watch it.
- 2:18Speaker 5: Guy's name is Rodriguez and like he made no money
- 2:21Speaker 5: he was pretty much homeless, had a music career, but
- 2:24Speaker 5: it never mounted anything. Turns out that somebody had taken
- 2:28Speaker 5: his music and distributed all over South America and he
- 2:31Speaker 5: was wildly famous over there, and he had no idea.
- 2:34Speaker 1: It was like a burnt CD. Yeah, and caught on.
- 2:39Speaker 1: They started to produce it, and then people they were
- 2:42Speaker 1: like it was it was so big. People were like
- 2:44Speaker 1: illegally producing it, saying it with somebody, and then we
- 2:49Speaker 1: don't spoil it. But he was wildly famous in another
- 2:51Speaker 1: part of the world. So what we're telling you is
- 2:53Speaker 1: like sports people everywhere love you and you had no idea.
- 2:55Speaker 1: That's hey, I'm honored your sugarman. You're sugarman. Hey, that's man.
- 3:01Speaker 1: Did you blow the whistle?
- 3:02Speaker 5: I did?
- 3:02Speaker 3: I did?
- 3:02Speaker 1: Okay. A couple of things to talk about as we
- 3:05Speaker 1: start this. This is getting loaded midnight as Friday morning starts,
- 3:13Speaker 1: so at this point I have already this is Schrodinger's cat. Yeah,
- 3:17Speaker 1: if you guys are familiar with Schrodinger's cat Eddie, wouldn't
- 3:21Speaker 1: you least know.
- 3:21Speaker 5: About schro I don't know what that means, but I
- 3:23Speaker 5: know what you're saying. I know exactly what you're trying
- 3:25Speaker 5: to say, but I don't know what that means. What
- 3:26Speaker 5: do you mean Schroeder is either the Peanuts guy?
- 3:29Speaker 1: Uh no, just taking to Charles Schultz. No, I think
- 3:33Speaker 1: Schroeder is like one of the characters and Charlie Brown
- 3:36Speaker 1: Peanuts that was written by Charles. Yes, who are you
- 3:39Speaker 1: talking about? Who are you talking?
- 3:41Speaker 3: No?
- 3:41Speaker 1: I want to know more about where you're mine before
- 3:44Speaker 1: I go to mind. I wanted like to know where
- 3:45Speaker 1: your mind went. Schroeder. He's a character in Peanuts. So
- 3:48Speaker 1: what you say is cat. I don't know what character
- 3:51Speaker 1: in Peanuts you're talking.
- 3:52Speaker 5: It might be the.
- 3:52Speaker 1: Dirty one or is that in that TA look up Schroeder.
- 3:58Speaker 1: Schroder is one of the dudes, is one who plays
- 4:00Speaker 1: the piano.
- 4:01Speaker 5: There we go, huh okay, but I have no idea
- 4:04Speaker 5: what that has to do with what you're trying to say.
- 4:06Speaker 1: It doesn't, it has nothing. It's just not the same
- 4:08Speaker 1: thing at all, does the piano virtuoso guy?
- 4:11Speaker 6: Okay, it's also not the right name that you're thinking over.
- 4:14Speaker 1: Yeah it all? Yeah, yeah, okay, So so thank you Eddie.
- 4:17Speaker 1: Charles Schultz shrowed to the player, all that I'm not
- 4:20Speaker 1: the same got it? So I will. Schrodinger's Cat is
- 4:27Speaker 1: an experiment where there's a cat in a box basically,
- 4:30Speaker 1: and it's and I won't even do the superposition thing.
- 4:33Speaker 1: But the cat is both alive and dead until you
- 4:36Speaker 1: open the box. Okay, there's poison in the box. Until
- 4:39Speaker 1: you know the cat is both dead and alive. Is
- 4:43Speaker 1: it really no? But you don't know. So it's fate
- 4:49Speaker 1: is linked to the sub atomic event, which is the poison.
- 4:52Speaker 1: Does it spill and kill the cat or is wow?
- 4:54Speaker 1: So my point is deep No, just wait, I'll make
- 4:57Speaker 1: it easier and worse. Arkansas's in that box right now. Huh.
- 5:01Speaker 5: You have no idea.
- 5:03Speaker 1: The Razorbacks played as you've heard this. The game is over,
- 5:06Speaker 1: but they both won and lost right now because they
- 5:09Speaker 1: are still in the box to me as we record this.
- 5:12Speaker 1: So they're the cat with the poison. The Arkansas Razorback
- 5:15Speaker 1: basketball team. They're playing at nine o'clock our times of
- 5:19Speaker 1: seven local in San Francisco, and they're playing Texas Tech.
- 5:23Speaker 1: And that's the cat. And I hope to god that
- 5:26Speaker 1: box is open when you hear this. The cat's alive.
- 5:28Speaker 5: What I like about you is you're a very realistic person.
- 5:33Speaker 5: You know, like, yeah, you're not at like a oh,
- 5:35Speaker 5: I just because I want it to happen. This is
- 5:36Speaker 5: what I believe. So what do you think is in
- 5:38Speaker 5: the box?
- 5:40Speaker 1: Truly, I think we lose by five, We probably go
- 5:47Speaker 1: down by twelve or thirteen, make a little run to
- 5:50Speaker 1: get it within two or three, and they kind of
- 5:52Speaker 1: close the deal win by four or five. City around
- 5:55Speaker 1: in that at the end, that would be, Hey, pick
- 5:59Speaker 1: us a specific situation, and if you're right, I'll give
- 6:02Speaker 1: you money. That would be the situation that would pick.
- 6:04Speaker 1: That doesn't mean I love them any less, because I
- 6:07Speaker 1: love nothing more, but that cat's dead. In my mind,
- 6:12Speaker 1: cat is dead very well, and I can't wait saying
- 6:16Speaker 1: this is what I was bringing up next. So if
- 6:18Speaker 1: that cat's alive, and I'll say that next Monday and Tuesday,
- 6:23Speaker 1: I'll be filling in for Rich Eyes and still doing
- 6:25Speaker 1: the Bobby Bone Show in the morning. But then I'm
- 6:26Speaker 1: gonna be filling in for Rich Eyes and on his
- 6:28Speaker 1: radio and TV show Monday and Tuesday. And that's in
- 6:34Speaker 1: Los Angeles. But if if the cats alive at the
- 6:38Speaker 1: end of the night on Thursday night, you hear this.
- 6:41Speaker 1: On Friday, they have a game on Saturday, San Francisco.
- 6:47Speaker 1: I may have to go see the alive cat. And
- 6:49Speaker 1: now both Eddie and Reed are going with me, and
- 6:53Speaker 1: we'd have to I would love to see the live cat.
- 6:59Speaker 1: Have to question, is I mean, could you go?
- 7:02Speaker 4: Ed?
- 7:02Speaker 1: He's got a family.
- 7:03Speaker 5: That's a good question. I'd have to talk with the
- 7:05Speaker 5: boss about that cats.
- 7:06Speaker 1: We don't know the cats the cats.
- 7:08Speaker 5: But who knows. It may not even need to be
- 7:09Speaker 5: a conversation we need to have because we don't know
- 7:12Speaker 5: if the cat's alive. But dang, that'd be cool.
- 7:15Speaker 7: Man.
- 7:16Speaker 6: You should present it like that to the boss cat.
- 7:20Speaker 1: Like Snoopy Woodstock. Okay, just picture this so if the
- 7:30Speaker 1: cats alive, no, no, but here's also I can also
- 7:34Speaker 1: there's a meet in the medal which is nice, a
- 7:36Speaker 1: little diamond ryo. Possibly possibly I can't even go, depending
- 7:44Speaker 1: probably I can, and we would fly. We'd fly out
- 7:47Speaker 1: their private but it'd be on a Saturday. But if
- 7:50Speaker 1: you couldn't go, you would just I just fly southwest
- 7:54Speaker 1: on Sunday in l A. And that kind of suck.
- 7:57Speaker 1: But you're not used to flying.
- 8:00Speaker 5: Yeah, I don't flying southwest. That's a big difference, you know,
- 8:06Speaker 5: that's my thing, right, like, I like saying that out
- 8:08Speaker 5: loud in the Southwest flight and people and watch people
- 8:11Speaker 5: go like, who's that douchebag?
- 8:12Speaker 2: Yeah, that's what I remember with flying flying with you, You're like, oh,
- 8:15Speaker 2: this never happens when I fly.
- 8:18Speaker 5: And somebody always turns around. Dang dude, is okay, Hey,
- 8:23Speaker 5: we'll cross that bridge when we get there.
- 8:24Speaker 1: And I almost don't want to say it because of
- 8:27Speaker 1: the jinks, but I think the cat outweighs the jinks.
- 8:33Speaker 1: So I would love for Arkansas Wind. Now that leads
- 8:35Speaker 1: me to my next couple of things, because they do
- 8:37Speaker 1: have some things that specifically I wanted to talk about.
- 8:39Speaker 1: And let me do this before I forget number one
- 8:41Speaker 1: Russell Wilson playing for the Giants. Yeah, I caught it weird.
- 8:46Speaker 2: Right, yeah, yeah, Jameis Winston, Russell and Tommy Cutlets, you got,
- 8:51Speaker 2: you got all of them.
- 8:52Speaker 1: It's weird, but I think it's they weren't a player
- 8:57Speaker 1: away anyway.
- 8:58Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 8:58Speaker 5: But now, like this whole thing with drafting a quarterback
- 9:01Speaker 5: is probably out the window, right.
- 9:03Speaker 1: But because I think they weren't a quarterback away, I
- 9:06Speaker 1: think they can now trade down and be closer to
- 9:12Speaker 1: being just a quarterback away So do you hate the Giants?
- 9:16Speaker 1: That's your Jets guy, I'm not No, I don't really
- 9:18Speaker 1: hate the Giants. They had the the awesome Super Bowl
- 9:22Speaker 1: win over the Patriots and O seven.
- 9:23Speaker 6: So I think that little.
- 9:28Speaker 1: Do you hate the Patriots more, the Giants more as
- 9:30Speaker 1: the Jets hats more? Yeah, okay, that's fair. Oh I
- 9:32Speaker 1: didn't know same city. I hadn't up with the right.
- 9:34Speaker 1: Yeah yeah, no, yeah, because the Giants are more like
- 9:37Speaker 1: Eagles and Cowboys.
- 9:38Speaker 5: That's their big rivalries, so they have the East.
- 9:41Speaker 1: The Giants reached to the Granmar with Super Bowl winning
- 9:43Speaker 1: quarterback one year deal worth the twenty one million bucks.
- 9:46Speaker 1: The ten time Pro Bowl selection has been in discussions
- 9:48Speaker 1: with the Giants, the Browns, and the Steelers. Hey, you
- 9:51Speaker 1: know who is the real winner so far is Kenny
- 9:53Speaker 1: Pickett because he goes to Cleveland and then the day
- 9:56Speaker 1: he goes to Cleveland, Russ is also in the building
- 9:59Speaker 1: and he's like, I thought I was getting a shot
- 10:01Speaker 1: at this job. He wouldn't have got a shot at
- 10:03Speaker 1: the job at Cleveland, signed Russ. I think a little
- 10:05Speaker 1: small hands pickets hand yeah, yeah, yeah, poor guy. I
- 10:12Speaker 1: think he has a shot to play even if they draft.
- 10:18Speaker 1: What are they two there to Yeah, so eight door.
- 10:21Speaker 1: Even if they do take a quarterback, I still think
- 10:23Speaker 1: he probably plays a lot because they suck. They did not,
- 10:27Speaker 1: So it's interesting. That means probably to Aaron Rodgers to
- 10:31Speaker 1: the Steelers almost certainly, almost certainly.
- 10:35Speaker 5: Almost certainly.
- 10:37Speaker 1: But nothing is certain about Aaron Rodgers exactly.
- 10:40Speaker 5: He's an enigma.
- 10:41Speaker 6: You know.
- 10:42Speaker 1: I did see to find Diggs to the Patriots. Yeah, yeah,
- 10:48Speaker 1: I'm not gonna be with his brother, and okay, that's
- 10:50Speaker 1: why I remember. It affected both of you. So Eddie
- 10:53Speaker 1: with thought, you're a Cowboys guy, could go to the Cowboys.
- 10:55Speaker 5: We want a little family together. That'd be great for
- 10:58Speaker 5: team morale, but not gonna happen.
- 11:01Speaker 6: Yeah, and he the Patriots. It's a love hate thing.
- 11:06Speaker 6: At first, I was like, that's a lot of money,
- 11:08Speaker 6: but they can cut out after the first year, and
- 11:10Speaker 6: I think it's twenty six or twenty nine million guaranteed
- 11:13Speaker 6: coming off the ACL getting a little bit older. The
- 11:15Speaker 6: only thing I'm concerned about is Drake May and the
- 11:17Speaker 6: way that Stefan Diggs can kind of rub quarterbacks the
- 11:20Speaker 6: wrong way. The last few years. I don't think he
- 11:22Speaker 6: really had anything with C. J. Stroud, but Josh Allen,
- 11:25Speaker 6: it was pretty clear he wanted him out of there,
- 11:27Speaker 6: you'd think, right, So we'll see how it goes. Three
- 11:30Speaker 6: years a lot of money, like I said, but if
- 11:32Speaker 6: they can cut tie up there one. If it doesn't go, well,
- 11:33Speaker 6: I'm happy with that.
- 11:34Speaker 1: What does he talk crapped about his quarterbacks? What was
- 11:36Speaker 1: he doing? I think he's just a difficult person to
- 11:38Speaker 1: play with. He will ask. Then that's a diva esque position,
- 11:42Speaker 1: like you have to be to be good at it,
- 11:45Speaker 1: like that's part of it. But then there's kind of
- 11:47Speaker 1: a line. But yeah, I think not the easiest to
- 11:54Speaker 1: to have a living relationship with because he's really good.
- 11:57Speaker 6: Really good, and at the end of the day, I'm like, Okay,
- 11:59Speaker 6: well he's still better, way better than anybody that we
- 12:01Speaker 6: have on the roster. So that's all I really care about.
- 12:03Speaker 1: So here we go. Let's talk draft then. So Travis Hunter,
- 12:06Speaker 1: you know that was the guy and if he does
- 12:08Speaker 1: was he gonna play quarterback, cornerback mostly and receive So
- 12:12Speaker 1: does that signing do you think that affects what the
- 12:15Speaker 1: pass are gonna do?
- 12:16Speaker 6: Yeah, I think they're gonna go line, whether it's defense
- 12:18Speaker 6: or offense. Probably offense, especially still with Rabel. No matter what,
- 12:21Speaker 6: I think they'll go offensive line, whether it's a Campbell
- 12:25Speaker 6: or under another kid because his arms are too short.
- 12:27Speaker 6: So I don't think it affects it.
- 12:28Speaker 1: No, do you think they move down because they I
- 12:30Speaker 1: hope they do, because if it's not Travis Hunter and
- 12:32Speaker 1: they don't need a quarterback, why would you stay at
- 12:35Speaker 1: four four year four? I agreecause any of those guys
- 12:39Speaker 1: you want to get there, you can probably get eight thirteen.
- 12:42Speaker 6: Yeah, in those spots, I'm right there with you. I
- 12:44Speaker 6: hope that they do trade down. Somebody wants Hunter moves up,
- 12:48Speaker 6: gets another first round pick or a couple of seconds,
- 12:51Speaker 6: whatever it might be, and then grab an offensive lineman
- 12:53Speaker 6: and then just kind of still build internally in the trenches,
- 12:57Speaker 6: as they say, for Drake.
- 12:58Speaker 1: May one more thing and we have a lot to
- 13:02Speaker 1: do today, but one more thing before I jump. I've
- 13:06Speaker 1: been on Auburn to win the whole thing, about a
- 13:08Speaker 1: thousand bucks on Auburn the beginning of the tournament to
- 13:10Speaker 1: win at all. They've been playing pretty consistent. Nobody's really
- 13:12Speaker 1: picking Auburn now to win at all. They were the
- 13:16Speaker 1: number one one seed based on their entire season. They're
- 13:20Speaker 1: not the flashiest. Duke looks freaking awesome. They're just killing
- 13:24Speaker 1: everybody that comes their way. Duke Houston Houston to me,
- 13:30Speaker 1: what's my analogy? Is it Schroeder this time? Or it's
- 13:36Speaker 1: a good question. Brandon Houston to me was c J.
- 13:43Speaker 1: Stroud last year and now I'm gonna make this analogy.
- 13:51Speaker 1: I was killing it every week, but he was also
- 13:54Speaker 1: rookie and people were like, wow, rookie. Eventually rookie suck
- 13:57Speaker 1: and they're not going to win much in the playoffs.
- 14:02Speaker 1: Houston is always good. Houston's good, Yeah, but eventually the
- 14:06Speaker 1: rookiness catches up with them every year. And Calvisam's awesome
- 14:11Speaker 1: also as a coach. But I just never believe in
- 14:14Speaker 1: them because I've never seen a rookie quarterback won Super Bowl.
- 14:17Speaker 1: You know why, because it doesn't happen. I've never seen
- 14:20Speaker 1: Houston win a national championship, even though they're freaking awesome.
- 14:25Speaker 1: So I don't believe. I don't believe in them. I
- 14:27Speaker 1: don't believe in Houston, even though they are really freaking good. Florida,
- 14:34Speaker 1: They're they're probably if I could re bet at the team,
- 14:37Speaker 1: I would re bet it on really just bet it
- 14:40Speaker 1: on Duke and every ell them. No, I don't hate Duke,
- 14:43Speaker 1: but I would hate betting on Duke.
- 14:45Speaker 5: That's I mean, that's how I'm like with Arkansas. Like
- 14:47Speaker 5: even if I look at the game and be like, oh,
- 14:48Speaker 5: they can't win this, I'll never bet that game.
- 14:50Speaker 1: But also it's too flashy. I don't want to bet
- 14:52Speaker 1: what's too flashy in these tournaments because the teams are
- 14:54Speaker 1: always man, they look the best, they're gonna win. They
- 14:57Speaker 1: rarely do yeh Yukon. When they look flashy, they on
- 15:00Speaker 1: the whole Oh Yukon. Just they won by an average
- 15:02Speaker 1: of thirteen points every game they were even flashy. That
- 15:06Speaker 1: wasn't even flash that was just domination dominant. So I'm
- 15:10Speaker 1: still sitting Obviously, I still have Auburn. I haven't cashed
- 15:13Speaker 1: out because I haven't my money back yet to cash out.
- 15:16Speaker 1: I don't think I would cash out unless they made
- 15:18Speaker 1: it to the finals. I think they do man so,
- 15:22Speaker 1: So the situation is if they're playing in the in
- 15:24Speaker 1: the region over the Arkansas playing in and if they win,
- 15:28Speaker 1: then Arkansas Arkansas went they play each other. Oh here's
- 15:32Speaker 1: my thing though, So uh, Duke a plus two ten
- 15:34Speaker 1: of the favorite betting Florida plus three point fifty, Houston
- 15:38Speaker 1: and Auburn a plus five hundred so tied there for third.
- 15:41Speaker 1: Then Tennessee, which I think Tennessee Woodshed's Kentucky even though
- 15:48Speaker 1: Kentucky's beating them twice. Uh, Texas Tech and Alabama and
- 15:53Speaker 1: the Michigan State. So I didn't have Arkansas didn't make
- 15:55Speaker 1: the list. Things of Kentucky. You can't even bet on this.
- 15:58Speaker 1: They're like, we don't, we don't want it. If you're
- 16:02Speaker 1: going to make this decision, you need the money, keep
- 16:05Speaker 1: the money.
- 16:08Speaker 3: It is.
- 16:08Speaker 1: But they don't make that one two, three, four, five,
- 16:11Speaker 1: six seven. They don't make the top half. Yeah. So
- 16:16Speaker 1: but I did message my new friend, the head coach
- 16:20Speaker 1: Texas Tech. Oh yeah, yesterday I read it to you.
- 16:27Speaker 1: I typeot so much though, dude, you need to double
- 16:29Speaker 1: check your tech. No, it's my whole life. It's every
- 16:33Speaker 1: I think there's something wrong with me because I type
- 16:35Speaker 1: away all the time, even when I don't try. So
- 16:40Speaker 1: he's coach Grant Mac. So I message him and I'm like,
- 16:44Speaker 1: I don't care. I'm not take it. I mean I
- 16:46Speaker 1: like him, yeah, and I like Tech. If I'm not
- 16:49Speaker 1: playing us and for some reason, I felt like he
- 16:51Speaker 1: needed to know that, okay, that I wasn't rooting for him.
- 16:54Speaker 5: Is that what you texted?
- 16:55Speaker 1: Yeah, I want to know. Well, that's why I wrote him.
- 16:59Speaker 1: And you can see I'm not about this. Hey, you
- 17:02Speaker 1: gro out on the Sweet sixteen. You guys seem to
- 17:04Speaker 1: the novice to be playing very disciplined. So but I
- 17:07Speaker 1: do take back good luck the rest of the way.
- 17:10Speaker 1: I repledge it. If you win, I hope you don't
- 17:14Speaker 1: have a good week, Coach, that's so. And then you
- 17:18Speaker 1: reply back, appreciate you and wouldn't want you to do
- 17:20Speaker 1: it any other way. Support your hogs looking forward to it,
- 17:24Speaker 1: coach n I thought that was pretty awesome. I don't
- 17:27Speaker 1: know why he did not. I didn't sign a whoop
- 17:31Speaker 1: pig though, But I don't know why I felt the
- 17:37Speaker 1: need to tell him I wasn't rooting for him, Like
- 17:39Speaker 1: that's I just did it. And then I was like,
- 17:42Speaker 1: why did I need to tell him I wasn't rooting
- 17:43Speaker 1: for him?
- 17:44Speaker 5: That's just funny, man, I love that. That's just you,
- 17:46Speaker 5: that's what you do.
- 17:47Speaker 1: But I was like trying to prove a point. And
- 17:49Speaker 1: I think maybe because I was like I'm rooting for
- 17:50Speaker 1: you the whole week. Because I said that to him,
- 17:52Speaker 1: I'm like, well, I'm not. I wanted it. I didn't
- 17:53Speaker 1: want to be like, oh, you know, he's in a meeting.
- 17:55Speaker 1: He's like no, no, Bob's rooting for us, and he
- 17:57Speaker 1: has to find out I'm not. So I wanted to
- 17:59Speaker 1: mess Gym to say I am not rooting for you.
- 18:03Speaker 1: I will be back, but I'm not. So that's happened.
- 18:07Speaker 1: So I wanted to share that. Have two other quick
- 18:08Speaker 1: stories here. Story number two. I do have another new
- 18:12Speaker 1: best friend, and this is my this is my new well,
- 18:16Speaker 1: Eddie's my best friend.
- 18:19Speaker 5: Who is this person?
- 18:20Speaker 1: Wait a minute, Eddie's my best friend, but this is
- 18:22Speaker 1: my new best friend. And it's Brian Anderson, who does
- 18:26Speaker 1: to play with play for TNT. Do you know he's
- 18:28Speaker 1: a voice of two K what.
- 18:30Speaker 5: You like when you start it up?
- 18:32Speaker 1: He's the play by play. No way, dude, it's crazy.
- 18:36Speaker 1: So that's legit. He came on earlier this week. He
- 18:40Speaker 1: called four games on day one of the tournament, two
- 18:42Speaker 1: days on day two, two games day two, and so
- 18:45Speaker 1: I just sent through the person who book show and say, hey,
- 18:49Speaker 1: he was awesome. Send on my cel phone number, and
- 18:52Speaker 1: I don't know if he needs anything or comes to
- 18:54Speaker 1: Nashville wants tickets, like, hit me up. So he hits
- 18:57Speaker 1: me up at twelve fifty eight am. It's almost noon
- 19:02Speaker 1: that that day, right, Oh wow, it's a I enjoyed
- 19:05Speaker 1: the pot.
- 19:05Speaker 5: Him up.
- 19:05Speaker 1: If you're ever an m k E, which I'm assuming
- 19:07Speaker 1: is Milwaukee. Yes, yes, he said, you're a golfer, and
- 19:11Speaker 1: he signed his name. Because I didn't know where the
- 19:14Speaker 1: number was coming from. I said, hey, man, you're awesome.
- 19:17Speaker 1: Same here in Nashville. Have a great rest of the week.
- 19:21Speaker 1: Because he does Brewers games too, So I said, if
- 19:25Speaker 1: you do Cubs and Brewers, I may come up like
- 19:28Speaker 1: if he's doing the game. And so I sent a
- 19:30Speaker 1: picture of meat on the first pitch at regularly, just
- 19:31Speaker 1: to show I still got the heat letting. I got
- 19:36Speaker 1: that still, I got a little of them tanks.
- 19:38Speaker 5: Hey, that must have taken you a long time to
- 19:39Speaker 5: find that.
- 19:40Speaker 1: Go ahead to go for a while, to sco for
- 19:42Speaker 1: a while, and he said, I appreciate that. Mutual admirations.
- 19:45Speaker 1: Lefty nice. He said, Hey, I'm actually working two different
- 19:48Speaker 1: series of Wrigley this year. You should come, And he
- 19:50Speaker 1: gave it some a couple of days, let's go, and
- 19:52Speaker 1: he says, do about fifty all read it all, it's
- 19:54Speaker 1: about fifty Brewers games TP by bye bye bah. And
- 19:57Speaker 1: then but he was like, here's some dates come up,
- 20:00Speaker 1: Come come Wrigley do cut.
- 20:01Speaker 6: That's awesome.
- 20:02Speaker 5: You're really gonna hit him up on it?
- 20:03Speaker 1: I don't know, maybe, but he was like, I'll introduce
- 20:05Speaker 1: you to Craig, which Craig counseled the manager who was
- 20:08Speaker 1: the Brewers managers now the Cubs manager. But this is
- 20:10Speaker 1: my new It might have been my new number one.
- 20:18Speaker 5: If you weigh it, like what can I give you?
- 20:23Speaker 1: Okay? And then I have one other thing you give me.
- 20:25Speaker 1: Mike Dieck can introduce you to Mike Davie, Like.
- 20:28Speaker 2: All, Eddie's got his friendship, I know, And sometimes I
- 20:31Speaker 2: just love dude.
- 20:32Speaker 5: That's it.
- 20:32Speaker 1: And sometimes it ain't enough. It's not. And here's the
- 20:36Speaker 1: other one, which I think has been bizarrely beautiful.
- 20:40Speaker 5: Is another friendship.
- 20:41Speaker 1: Yes, well, another potential friendship that I thought there was
- 20:46Speaker 1: no reason for me to think this friendship. Whatever happened.
- 20:48Speaker 1: And I can play a little game first where you
- 20:50Speaker 1: can try to guess it and then tell you how
- 20:51Speaker 1: it happened. We have had either people come to us
- 20:56Speaker 1: for the show or too much access, or we have
- 20:59Speaker 1: gone to them. And I would say our success rate
- 21:02Speaker 1: has gotten a lot higher the more episodes we've done,
- 21:04Speaker 1: because we proved we have a pretty good product. There's
- 21:08Speaker 1: been one basketball team that's that does not college. It's
- 21:13Speaker 1: not even opened us coming like. It's just been like, nah,
- 21:17Speaker 1: I know that is Yeah you do Yep, Yeah, they're
- 21:21Speaker 1: they're regional.
- 21:22Speaker 3: Yep.
- 21:22Speaker 5: Who Tennessee?
- 21:23Speaker 1: Yeah? Oh no, I didn't think I because I hate
- 21:26Speaker 1: Tennessee yours.
- 21:27Speaker 6: Oh no, no, I know who Ku.
- 21:30Speaker 1: Correct. So Kansas has and we and we've done Kansas
- 21:34Speaker 1: State and we've done so I don't care.
- 21:38Speaker 5: Oh Kansas got you. I was thinking Kentucky. I was like,
- 21:40Speaker 5: what do you want to do?
- 21:41Speaker 3: That be?
- 21:42Speaker 5: Okay?
- 21:42Speaker 7: Got it?
- 21:42Speaker 1: Yeah? And so I I if we never go to Kansas,
- 21:48Speaker 1: all good. But I don't hate Kansas. It's just they
- 21:51Speaker 1: never had interest. I get it. And some coaches personalities
- 21:54Speaker 1: want to do stuff and some don't. I never reached
- 21:57Speaker 1: out to Kansas. I posted a picture and I don't
- 22:00Speaker 1: want to share too much this guy's information, but posted
- 22:03Speaker 1: a picture of my wife and I we were in
- 22:05Speaker 1: Europe or something, and he had responded in a DM
- 22:11Speaker 1: that goes into like the generals, that's not into my normals,
- 22:14Speaker 1: because somebody, I'm so famous that I have my own
- 22:16Speaker 1: category that I don't see all of them. This is
- 22:19Speaker 1: the fame. It's so tough.
- 22:21Speaker 5: Lots of friends.
- 22:21Speaker 1: Yeah, and so but he looked like pretty normal when
- 22:24Speaker 1: it was a dude, pretty normal dude. And he said
- 22:25Speaker 1: something and it was a really nice comment about something
- 22:28Speaker 1: that had happened in his life. Nothing else. Didn't ask
- 22:32Speaker 1: for anything. That's this fan. And I just said, oh,
- 22:35Speaker 1: I really appreciate you saying that and thank you. That's
- 22:37Speaker 1: super kind of you. And from that we just started talking.
- 22:45Speaker 1: And he has a job and he does not live
- 22:47Speaker 1: in Kansas.
- 22:50Speaker 3: Oh.
- 22:50Speaker 1: We were playing Arkansas was playing Kansas, and that's what
- 22:53Speaker 1: it was. You know, it's I'm an Arkansas fan.
- 22:54Speaker 5: The first round, right, yeah, yep.
- 22:56Speaker 1: And so he was a good job beating Kansas. He said,
- 22:59Speaker 1: I know Bill. I don't know if you know Bill
- 23:01Speaker 1: or not. And this time I'm thinking Clinton, Bill Ny
- 23:05Speaker 1: the science guy, not Bill right all that, and so
- 23:11Speaker 1: I'm like, oh, cool, he's like you ever met him?
- 23:14Speaker 1: I said no, but I have a friend, and I
- 23:16Speaker 1: have a friend that's the head of the SEC Officiating Committee.
- 23:18Speaker 1: He's the head official of the SEC. I said, done
- 23:21Speaker 1: a bunch of Bill selfs games and really likes him.
- 23:24Speaker 1: I said, We've tried to do stuff with them, but
- 23:26Speaker 1: he doesn't acknowledge our existence, not in a way of
- 23:30Speaker 1: like anything other than that's why I don't know him.
- 23:32Speaker 1: I've tried, but either way, I'm good. I got Eddie, Now,
- 23:36Speaker 1: I got Brian Anderson.
- 23:37Speaker 6: Yeah, I don't forget him.
- 23:39Speaker 1: And he's like, I'll give away to his details. He's like,
- 23:43Speaker 1: I'm gonna talk to mex a couple of days. And
- 23:45Speaker 1: I was like, well, do it, No need I don't.
- 23:47Speaker 1: You don't have to like do that. He's like, no,
- 23:50Speaker 1: like if they're like, you're like a normal nice guy.
- 23:53Speaker 1: He goes, what schools have you been to? Just so
- 23:55Speaker 1: I can tell him the center the whole sheet. And
- 23:56Speaker 1: he's like, oh, my god, you've done every freaking school
- 24:00Speaker 1: around there ever, especially not only around there, but like
- 24:02Speaker 1: NBA teams. He's like, oh, you guys do it. It's
- 24:04Speaker 1: a real thing. And I said yeah, and he goes,
- 24:07Speaker 1: I just talked to Bill. Here's a cell phone number.
- 24:09Speaker 1: Just call him.
- 24:10Speaker 6: On Jesus, just call him.
- 24:13Speaker 1: I'm just calling I'm going to call him right now.
- 24:15Speaker 1: I'm never calling him. It's not even that I did, Hey,
- 24:20Speaker 1: let's call. It's not even a pro or con him.
- 24:25Speaker 1: But he's just like, hey to talk to Bill. Here's
- 24:26Speaker 1: the number, give them a call to set it up.
- 24:29Speaker 1: And I'm like, I will I will never call that number.
- 24:33Speaker 1: I said, well, what about like, I'll go through somebody.
- 24:35Speaker 1: He goes. Bill's not that kind of guy. He'll just
- 24:37Speaker 1: handle and get it set up. And I'm going on,
- 24:40Speaker 1: I will never call that number because I want to
- 24:43Speaker 1: bother him.
- 24:43Speaker 5: How would you even start that call?
- 24:47Speaker 1: And it's like, so this guy messaged me on Instagram, right,
- 24:50Speaker 1: You'll never believe. So I have two friends and one
- 24:58Speaker 1: semi potential friend, Bill self. Even if I never message him,
- 25:03Speaker 1: it's always potential. It's Sharker's cat a friendship. It's in
- 25:06Speaker 1: the box. Who knows if I would like him or
- 25:09Speaker 1: not like him.
- 25:10Speaker 5: So that's funny that that happened, and you're not gonna
- 25:14Speaker 5: call him. I have to. Kevin's like, do it?
- 25:20Speaker 1: I do. I honestly don't know how you would I
- 25:22Speaker 1: hear you. I wouldn't call, though, I would text. My
- 25:26Speaker 1: history though of knowing coaches and texts non responsive and
- 25:30Speaker 1: not because they don't like you. Most coaches I know,
- 25:35Speaker 1: they are just so hyper focused on everything outside of
- 25:38Speaker 1: their phone. Yeah, I have that. That's pretty amazing, it's
- 25:43Speaker 1: pretty crazy. Okay, I'm gonna do this.
- 25:46Speaker 5: That's okay.
- 25:47Speaker 1: Though, I'd let you have Bill self as a best friend.
- 25:49Speaker 1: I'll do that's fine. But Brian Anderson only, and also
- 25:56Speaker 1: now you're your buddy from oh and coach he was
- 25:59Speaker 1: part of the buddy list.
- 26:00Speaker 6: Yeah, it's not not not for one day though, right, hate.
- 26:05Speaker 1: Well, I call this mccasleon's box. So either right now,
- 26:11Speaker 1: as this errors, I love him again I hate him.
- 26:14Speaker 1: You have no idea, that's right. Okay, So let's build
- 26:18Speaker 1: a parlay here. H Friday's games.
- 26:25Speaker 6: Hey, last week the second Yeah, Saturday took a lot
- 26:28Speaker 6: of underdogs to cover when it happened.
- 26:30Speaker 1: Just throw that out there.
- 26:31Speaker 6: On Saturday, I hit three parlays in a row.
- 26:34Speaker 1: Wow, you hit three parlays? How many game parlays? Uh?
- 26:39Speaker 6: Two of them were three, I believe in one was two?
- 26:41Speaker 1: Dangs that Why are you one of the fantasy shirt Today's.
- 26:43Speaker 6: Yeah, I went on a spending screen, buddy.
- 26:46Speaker 1: That's good, thank you. So we got four games here,
- 26:50Speaker 1: two of them are close, so I'm gonna go money
- 26:52Speaker 1: line on the two close ones. Michigan State's a three
- 26:54Speaker 1: and a half point favorite, but I'm gonna take almost
- 26:56Speaker 1: money line. And do you know why no, as he's
- 27:00Speaker 1: hey seven to the sixteen teams. The rest of see teams,
- 27:03Speaker 1: well at least they were until the box.
- 27:05Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 27:05Speaker 1: Yeah, but we're doing Friday's games Kentucky and Tennessee. Tennessee's
- 27:09Speaker 1: four and a half point favorite. I'm gonna take ole
- 27:12Speaker 1: Miss money line and Tennessee money line, right, I'm gonna
- 27:14Speaker 1: take those two winners, and then what the Auburn line is? Crazy?
- 27:18Speaker 1: It's minus nine and a half. Oh wow against Michigan.
- 27:22Speaker 1: That seems so high. Yeah, that I'm gonna take it
- 27:25Speaker 1: because I know I'm wrong about this stuff, like what
- 27:27Speaker 1: you do. I would never take that, I would say
- 27:30Speaker 1: that's so high. I would never So that's why I'm
- 27:32Speaker 1: picking it. Auburn minus nine and a half. So we
- 27:35Speaker 1: got ole Miss money line, Tennessee money line, Auburn minus
- 27:38Speaker 1: nine and a half.
- 27:39Speaker 5: You're gonna be puckered for the first half of that
- 27:41Speaker 5: game because it's probably gonna be closed and you're like, oh,
- 27:42Speaker 5: my guess, and then they're gonna take off second half.

- 28:29Speaker 1: This is my friend Sarah Spain. I used to listen
- 28:31Speaker 1: to her on ESPN way back in the day and
- 28:33Speaker 1: the first time I met her, I was like, oh,
- 28:34Speaker 1: he's listened to you all the time on ESPN, And
- 28:36Speaker 1: she was like, how'd you get in here? And I
- 28:39Speaker 1: was like, oh, yeah, sorry, I said, Sarah, thank you.
- 28:43Speaker 1: That's a good dude. That's good. I expect you guys
- 28:46Speaker 1: keep laughing at that. That's kind of stupid. Sarah is
- 28:49Speaker 1: super dialed in when it comes to sports in general,
- 28:50Speaker 1: but women's sports, especially the NCAA tournament women That tournament's
- 28:54Speaker 1: going on right now. She has a great show called
- 28:56Speaker 1: Good Game with Sarah Spain that I want you to
- 28:58Speaker 1: check out. An Emmy and a Peabody Award winning journalist.
- 29:03Speaker 1: Mostly though, like she just knows ball, and so we'll
- 29:06Speaker 1: talk like Juju Watkins, that injury, we'll talk NCAA Women's tournament.
- 29:10Speaker 1: But then it's just like all bets are off and
- 29:14Speaker 1: then somebody screws up real bad and that person want
- 29:17Speaker 1: that person wasn't me, But you're about to hear, big
- 29:20Speaker 1: fan check out Good Game with Sarah Spain at Sarah
- 29:24Speaker 1: Spain on Twitter here she is Sarah Spain. Hey, Sarah,
- 29:26Speaker 1: I first want to start with Juju Watkins and acl
- 29:30Speaker 1: tear let's just talk about that first because probably ends
- 29:36Speaker 1: their run in the tournament, and then I want to
- 29:38Speaker 1: go from that. But but your thoughts on how severe
- 29:41Speaker 1: this is? What do you know? And then what is
- 29:43Speaker 1: USC going to do the rest of the tournament.
- 29:46Speaker 4: Yeah, it's just a huge bummer.
- 29:48Speaker 3: You know, not only is she probably gonna win Player
- 29:52Speaker 3: of the Year, and at as a sophomore, is already
- 29:55Speaker 3: trying to kind of take the mantle from Caitlin Clark
- 29:57Speaker 3: as the face, the name, the player that every body knows.
- 30:01Speaker 3: But it's always just terrible to see a season end prematurely.
- 30:05Speaker 3: We all wanted to see what would happen if USC
- 30:08Speaker 3: ended up facing Yukon, which is what we expected in
- 30:11Speaker 3: the Elite eight see Pagebeckers versus Juju Watkins. That's a
- 30:14Speaker 3: ratings bonanza and that's the two biggest names really in
- 30:17Speaker 3: college women's college basketball right now. So yeah, just really
- 30:21Speaker 3: heartbroken for Juju. I will say I don't think USC's
- 30:24Speaker 3: tournament is over. Kiki Eriefen had thirty six points and
- 30:28Speaker 3: nine boards in their last game, and they're taking out
- 30:31Speaker 3: of Kansas State team that honestly I don't think can
- 30:32Speaker 3: beat them even without Juju. The question really is mentally, Bobby,
- 30:37Speaker 3: when your teammate goes down midgame like that, you see
- 30:39Speaker 3: her in a heap on the floor, she gets carried off.
- 30:42Speaker 3: You're waiting to hear exactly what the situation is. Maybe
- 30:45Speaker 3: you still have hope that she comes back when you
- 30:47Speaker 3: get to that next game and you've had a couple
- 30:49Speaker 3: of days to be disappointed, to be heartbroken for your teammate.
- 30:52Speaker 3: Maybe she's even sitting courtside in a big old brace
- 30:55Speaker 3: for this case state game. Mentally, is this team ready
- 30:59Speaker 3: to approach the rest of the tournament with a completely
- 31:01Speaker 3: different mindset without their you know, top player superstar with.
- 31:06Speaker 1: Them and USC is still a point a half favorite.
- 31:08Speaker 1: That line changed drastically once she was fell.
- 31:10Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 31:11Speaker 1: Yeah, Well, as far as the ACL injury goes, so
- 31:14Speaker 1: it's so late and again it feels almost like Kyrie
- 31:18Speaker 1: in the NBA, where that injury was so late that
- 31:21Speaker 1: it's going to affect next year, almost the whole season
- 31:24Speaker 1: with him next year. So same thing here with Juju Watkins.
- 31:28Speaker 1: This ACL tair, how severe is it or what do
- 31:31Speaker 1: we know about it? And as far as next year goes,
- 31:34Speaker 1: is she going to be able to be one hundred
- 31:36Speaker 1: percent when the season starts.
- 31:38Speaker 3: Yeah, so the last thing we heard was just from
- 31:40Speaker 3: USC officially that she would be out for the rest
- 31:43Speaker 3: of the tournament. Then we had sources reporting the ACL tair.
- 31:47Speaker 3: So the last I've seen from USC, my guess is
- 31:50Speaker 3: that they haven't come out with an official notice about
- 31:53Speaker 3: the injury because they're trying to see if there are
- 31:54Speaker 3: other related injuries. You know, oftentimes with an ACL, you
- 31:57Speaker 3: might have an MCL, you might have other knee issue
- 32:00Speaker 3: who's in addition to the a saltaur So I think
- 32:01Speaker 3: they're probably just trying to figure out the extent of
- 32:03Speaker 3: the damage before they revealed the diagnosis and the prognosis
- 32:07Speaker 3: in terms of how long it'll take these injuries and
- 32:10Speaker 3: these surgeries are better than ever here in Chicago. One
- 32:13Speaker 3: of the NWSL players for the Chicago Star, Sam Stopp,
- 32:16Speaker 3: came back way faster than expected. So I think it
- 32:19Speaker 3: is dependent on the player, the rehab, how well the
- 32:22Speaker 3: surgery goes. But yeah, it's pretty late, and I think
- 32:26Speaker 3: what we know about Juju is if you're not super
- 32:28Speaker 3: familiar with the women's game, people have been asking me like, oh,
- 32:31Speaker 3: she's going to be number one in the draft, right,
- 32:33Speaker 3: Like she's got to go, and I'm like, oh, you know,
- 32:35Speaker 3: on the women's side, there are age requirements. You have
- 32:37Speaker 3: to play X number of years and or meet a
- 32:39Speaker 3: certain age in order to be eligible for the WNBA draft.
- 32:42Speaker 3: At least with the current CBA that might change. But
- 32:44Speaker 3: with Juju, she's only a sophomore, so I don't know
- 32:47Speaker 3: how much it might cut into next season, whether that
- 32:50Speaker 3: ends up being something where she'll save eligibility or whether
- 32:52Speaker 3: she's in a rush to get to the next level.
- 32:54Speaker 3: So a lot of that will just depend on her
- 32:55Speaker 3: recovery well.
- 32:56Speaker 1: And also there's a massive pay disparity too, where you
- 32:59Speaker 1: Juju A make a lot more money playing at USC
- 33:02Speaker 1: than what digit not.
- 33:04Speaker 3: Necessarily because with the WNBA you get your salary and
- 33:08Speaker 3: you still get all those sponsorships, you know, nil money
- 33:10Speaker 3: can be tied to universities for areas and for sports
- 33:13Speaker 3: in particular where your peak earning power is as a
- 33:16Speaker 3: collegiate athlete, where you know, softball, for instance, is a
- 33:18Speaker 3: sport where the world, you know, the World Series, the
- 33:21Speaker 3: you know, college World Series for women is such a
- 33:23Speaker 3: big deal that they sometimes can make more endorsements and
- 33:25Speaker 3: stuff in their college years, but in the WNBA. You
- 33:28Speaker 3: now you get a salary. You can add another two
- 33:30Speaker 3: hundred k plus a year in Unrivaled. If you join
- 33:33Speaker 3: that league and you get all the sponsorships and deals
- 33:34Speaker 3: you were getting in.
- 33:35Speaker 1: College, you gotta go play another league though, too. Three
- 33:38Speaker 1: and three is pretty fun. I like three on three
- 33:40Speaker 1: did yeah?
- 33:40Speaker 3: I mean Unrivaled. They put it together well and they're
- 33:42Speaker 3: getting paid. What did you thinke on one tournament alone?
- 33:45Speaker 5: Would you?
- 33:45Speaker 4: I thought it was a blast. I thought it was
- 33:48Speaker 4: a blast.
- 33:48Speaker 3: I think part of it for me is if you
- 33:50Speaker 3: know the women's game and you know these players well,
- 33:52Speaker 3: you're fascinated to see them mixed up and playing together.
- 33:55Speaker 3: And you also love to see the ISOs where you
- 33:58Speaker 3: get to see skill sets that maybe didn't recognize. I
- 34:00Speaker 3: think you know, if you tend to watch men's hoops,
- 34:03Speaker 3: you have to imagine if you took the thirty three
- 34:05Speaker 3: best NBA players and dropped them into Miami for eight
- 34:08Speaker 3: weeks and got to see all these rivals playing on
- 34:12Speaker 3: the same team for the first time the one on
- 34:14Speaker 3: one tournament.
- 34:14Speaker 4: I don't know if you.
- 34:15Speaker 3: Saw Kevin Durant and some other NBA players saying I
- 34:17Speaker 3: don't know how they beat us to this, but we
- 34:18Speaker 3: got to do this. And the question is whether the
- 34:20Speaker 3: NBA guys have a willingness to put their egos on
- 34:24Speaker 3: the line in a one on one because I loved
- 34:27Speaker 3: watching that and what we learned from that, like especially
- 34:30Speaker 3: about the unicorns and the bigs. I thought it was
- 34:31Speaker 3: gonna be a lot of guards with some nifty ball
- 34:34Speaker 3: handling skills working their way around the bigs, and it
- 34:36Speaker 3: ended up being one guard in the final four players
- 34:38Speaker 3: and a bunch of bigs that had crazy length and
- 34:41Speaker 3: much faster, more endurance than you expected from from from
- 34:44Speaker 3: the tall So I would love to see that on
- 34:47Speaker 3: the men's side too. So I thought Unrivaled had a
- 34:49Speaker 3: bunch of ideas that are going to get stolen by
- 34:51Speaker 3: other leagues.
- 34:52Speaker 1: Let's take the juju watcand let's put in the vacuum
- 34:54Speaker 1: so it doesn't exist. So I just want to talk
- 34:56Speaker 1: about Yukon for a second, because I think Paigebecker stays
- 34:59Speaker 1: everybody wants to here win a championship. We love to
- 35:02Speaker 1: see people that hang around and stay with it and
- 35:05Speaker 1: then for that to finally pay off. And South Carolina
- 35:09Speaker 1: and Yukon are probably the two teams now it's gonna
- 35:11Speaker 1: you know, it's but I think now like my interest,
- 35:15Speaker 1: I was very much at Juju Watkin's guy. I got
- 35:17Speaker 1: a bunch of signs. Did you watch and stuff? If
- 35:18Speaker 1: I'm being honest with you, yes, very selfically yes, But
- 35:21Speaker 1: now it's like I'm I'm I'm rooting for Yukon and
- 35:24Speaker 1: it's weird for a dynasty I have no relationship with
- 35:26Speaker 1: because I love to see somebody stick around and then
- 35:30Speaker 1: see that come to ferration. So talk about that.
- 35:33Speaker 4: Yeah, you know.
- 35:33Speaker 3: I had Gino Oriama on my show Good Game with
- 35:36Speaker 3: Sarah Spain and we talked about how it's kind of unfair,
- 35:39Speaker 3: but it's true that if Paige Becker's and ends up
- 35:42Speaker 3: graduating they don't win this year, she will be the
- 35:44Speaker 3: best player Yukon's had that never got a ring, and
- 35:47Speaker 3: that's been injuries, that's been quality of play, that's been
- 35:50Speaker 3: parody across the women's game, completely shifting in the last
- 35:53Speaker 3: couple of years. It used to be all about Yukon
- 35:55Speaker 3: and now there are any number of teams. You didn't
- 35:57Speaker 3: even mention UCLA. They have a really good shot to
- 35:59Speaker 3: win it. I don't think anyone has a good answer
- 36:01Speaker 3: for Lauren Betts. So there's a handful of teams that
- 36:04Speaker 3: you could see winning it, and I would love to
- 36:06Speaker 3: see Yukon win too. I just think Paige Beckers has
- 36:09Speaker 3: fought through so much as an athlete. She is an
- 36:12Speaker 3: incredible ambassador for the game for speaking up for not
- 36:15Speaker 3: just herself but other players that are not as often
- 36:18Speaker 3: talked about, and watching her an asy fund be on
- 36:21Speaker 3: the court at the same time healthy. And they have
- 36:24Speaker 3: absolutely dusted everyone in their path. If we were reseeding
- 36:28Speaker 3: this starting with the Elite eight, I think you'd be
- 36:31Speaker 3: hard pressed to put a team above Yukon.
- 36:33Speaker 4: Maybe South Carolina.
- 36:34Speaker 3: They have also absolutely obliterated anything in its path in
- 36:37Speaker 3: their path, but yeah, Yukon and Paige Beckers now sort
- 36:40Speaker 3: of takes the stage as probably the name everybody knows
- 36:45Speaker 3: and the team people will be rooting for now that
- 36:46Speaker 3: you jose.
- 36:47Speaker 1: Out, Texas is one seed. I hate Texas. How good
- 36:50Speaker 1: is Texas?
- 36:50Speaker 4: Wait?
- 36:51Speaker 3: Wait, wait, wait wait wait?
- 36:52Speaker 4: You hate this team or just anything from.
- 36:54Speaker 1: Texas, any Texas University of Texas team period, Everett in
- 36:58Speaker 1: the history of the world. I hate them all, not individual.
- 37:01Speaker 1: I lived in Austin, my favorite city. I live there
- 37:03Speaker 1: for thirteen years and I have friends at coach as
- 37:04Speaker 1: Fun a coach on stabs and have played there, and
- 37:06Speaker 1: I love them individually. I hate Texas, so I hope
- 37:09Speaker 1: they lose everything. But they are really good. But are
- 37:13Speaker 1: as far as the one seeds to go? Are they
- 37:16Speaker 1: comparable to South Carolina UCLA?
- 37:18Speaker 4: I think in some this is a tough one. Sometimes
- 37:21Speaker 4: I feel like they're being slept on.
- 37:22Speaker 3: Madison Booker is insane twenty plus points in each of
- 37:25Speaker 3: the first couple games. Vick Shaeffer a very very respected
- 37:29Speaker 3: and very veteran coach who has led this team to
- 37:32Speaker 3: some pretty big wins, and they took care of business
- 37:34Speaker 3: in the first two rounds, zero challenges from William and
- 37:37Speaker 3: Mary in Illinois. I just think that they don't have
- 37:40Speaker 3: the sizzle of some of the other ones and so
- 37:43Speaker 3: they can get slept on. I think they will be
- 37:47Speaker 3: fine with Tennessee. Tennessee is a tough one though, and
- 37:49Speaker 3: that they can lose any game, and they lose some
- 37:51Speaker 3: games you're kind of confused by. But they can also
- 37:53Speaker 3: beat some really good teams. So I think Texas is
- 37:57Speaker 3: fine in the Elite eight. I think when you get
- 37:59Speaker 3: down to the final four, you're going to have You're
- 38:02Speaker 3: going to have Texas probably as the number one seed
- 38:05Speaker 3: that I think will will be easy to easier to
- 38:08Speaker 3: knock off than the others.
- 38:09Speaker 1: Yeah, I like to hear that, really rooting for that
- 38:13Speaker 1: to happen. You mentioned Gino earlier, and it's been talked
- 38:16Speaker 1: about a few times, but Gino, I won't say, a hater,
- 38:18Speaker 1: but did not probably have the belief that Caitlyn Clark
- 38:20Speaker 1: could perform as quickly as she did last year. What
- 38:25Speaker 1: would Gino say if you asked them about it today.
- 38:28Speaker 3: Yeah, I don't think anyone Frankly was, well, that's not true.
- 38:32Speaker 4: I'm not going to name any names.
- 38:33Speaker 3: There was, like, there were a couple haters, but for
- 38:34Speaker 3: the most part, I think it was people being honest
- 38:37Speaker 3: and a lot of folks not in the women's game
- 38:40Speaker 3: expected a lot more kid gloves. Didn't understand that this
- 38:44Speaker 3: is a professional league. WNBA is going to be just
- 38:47Speaker 3: like any other league where they're going to say, welcome
- 38:48Speaker 3: to the show, rook, we're going to show you how
- 38:50Speaker 3: it's done. And Caitlin her turnovers, her sloppiness with the
- 38:53Speaker 3: ball early on was what a lot of people expected.
- 38:56Speaker 3: You're playing bigger faster, stronger, more talented players at every
- 38:59Speaker 3: single passeition on every other team, and then she found
- 39:02Speaker 3: her groove and it was so fun to watch.
- 39:04Speaker 4: I think Gina would probably I don't know.
- 39:07Speaker 3: I don't want to speak for him, but I think
- 39:08Speaker 3: a lot of the folks were honest, and Dana Tarassi
- 39:10Speaker 3: was a perfect example. Like when she was playing against Caitlyn,
- 39:13Speaker 3: she had nothing but great things to say about her,
- 39:15Speaker 3: but she was accurate in what she said, which is
- 39:17Speaker 3: the beginning's going to be a little tough for and
- 39:19Speaker 3: it was.
- 39:19Speaker 4: It was what a lot of folks expected.
- 39:22Speaker 3: I'm fascinated to see what the Indiana Fever look like
- 39:25Speaker 3: this season. They have added some pieces and they are
- 39:28Speaker 3: going to be a problem, and we've already seen I
- 39:31Speaker 3: think forty one of their forty four games are going
- 39:33Speaker 3: to be on national television. Most of their opponents are
- 39:36Speaker 3: looking to upgrade venues so that they're playing, for instance,
- 39:39Speaker 3: the Chicago's guy in the United Center where the Chicago
- 39:41Speaker 3: Bulls play. A lot of teams are looking to NBA
- 39:44Speaker 3: stadiums and arenas to try to get enough fans in
- 39:46Speaker 3: because everybody wants to get that ticket. So year two
- 39:50Speaker 3: of the WNBA with Kaitlin Clark and Angel Reese. Same
- 39:53Speaker 3: thing with that, it's going to be a blast.
- 39:55Speaker 1: I'm not saying this because we're talking women's sports with
- 39:57Speaker 1: you specifically, but Caitlin Clark is my favorite American astle
- 40:00Speaker 1: late period. I love that all sports, and so I
- 40:04Speaker 1: was always an advocate early on of she just finished
- 40:09Speaker 1: playing college basketball and immedia, it's not the same as
- 40:13Speaker 1: the men where they finished their season. They they they
- 40:17Speaker 1: go to camps, they work out for teams, they have
- 40:19Speaker 1: they rest they have there, It's okay, that's over. You're
- 40:24Speaker 1: immediately on. And I think that was probably a significant
- 40:29Speaker 1: reason that she was a bit slower, that's where to
- 40:32Speaker 1: say slower developing, a bit slower developing in her terms
- 40:36Speaker 1: as she.
- 40:37Speaker 3: Was, and also just getting to know your teammates, like
- 40:40Speaker 3: one of Caitlyn's best skills is her playmaking and her passing,
- 40:44Speaker 3: And if you're not in a rhythm yet with teammates,
- 40:46Speaker 3: because to your point, you literally just played in the
- 40:49Speaker 3: National Championship, then got drafted, then you're suddenly having to
- 40:51Speaker 3: play games with a whole new team in a whole
- 40:53Speaker 3: new league. You just don't have the timing down yet,
- 40:56Speaker 3: and what we saw, not only from her teammates, was
- 40:58Speaker 3: that they started to figure out her style of play.
- 41:01Speaker 3: She started to feed them where they wanted the ball.
- 41:03Speaker 3: And now you're going to have this influx of even
- 41:06Speaker 3: better talent on that team to work with for her,
- 41:08Speaker 3: and it's going to be awesome. It's going to be
- 41:11Speaker 3: so much fun.
- 41:11Speaker 1: I can't wait as well. And you mentioned the pieces,
- 41:14Speaker 1: but also, like you get to bring a friend to
- 41:16Speaker 1: your team, which is what happened with Caitlyn Clark. If
- 41:19Speaker 1: you get to bring like a good friend to play
- 41:20Speaker 1: with you who's also really good, like, that's pretty exciting.
- 41:25Speaker 4: And a brand new coach.
- 41:26Speaker 3: And I'll tell you what, Stephanie White is a very
- 41:29Speaker 3: talented coach who did great things with that Yukon team
- 41:32Speaker 3: or sorry, with that Connecticut team.
- 41:33Speaker 4: And you know, when we saw that they.
- 41:36Speaker 3: Were parting ways quote unquote parting ways mutually, we knew
- 41:39Speaker 3: she was headed to Indiana and we knew she wanted
- 41:41Speaker 3: to go get a chance to coach Caitlin on that team,
- 41:44Speaker 3: so that that's going to be a blast.
- 41:46Speaker 1: I'm not a poser. I have WNBA ticket game I
- 41:49Speaker 1: call it's not Sunday ticket. What's it called? Path, Yes,
- 41:52Speaker 1: wnba la pass and so I'm not opposed on many
- 41:57Speaker 1: other things I am for sure, but for this, I
- 41:59Speaker 1: definite I am not a poser. And yeah, I'm super excited.
- 42:03Speaker 1: And you know, we know that a lot of the
- 42:05Speaker 1: Pacers execs because the Pacers and that's the same owners,
- 42:09Speaker 1: and so yeah, it's gonna be awesome to see them
- 42:12Speaker 1: rested because you also, I could do this for an hour,
- 42:16Speaker 1: but just looking, they had two first round picks and
- 42:20Speaker 1: Row and the South Carolina grew up South Carolina in
- 42:23Speaker 1: the center. Yeah, they were terrible, but she was the
- 42:25Speaker 1: only good player on the team the year before Leah Boston.
- 42:28Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean, when you're a team that gets back
- 42:29Speaker 3: to back number one overall picks, that says something about
- 42:31Speaker 3: your record, right, I think that tells you what you
- 42:34Speaker 3: need to know about what was happening with the fever
- 42:37Speaker 3: the last couple of years before they had one of
- 42:38Speaker 3: the greatest players of all time, Tamiky Ketchings, and they
- 42:41Speaker 3: had a really good stretch when she was there. Unfortunately,
- 42:43Speaker 3: after she retired, it's been pretty ugly for them. But
- 42:46Speaker 3: now they resigned Kelsey Mitchell. Like you said, Eliah Boston,
- 42:50Speaker 3: Sophie Cunningham coming from the Mercury. It's a fiery, feisty player.
- 42:53Speaker 3: That'll be interesting. Obviously, Brandon Turner, Lexi Hall just I
- 42:57Speaker 3: think improved her skill set and unrivaled and is going
- 43:00Speaker 3: to bring more in her bag. And then you added
- 43:02Speaker 3: Dowana Bonner and Sidney Colson. Sidney Colson an incredible just
- 43:05Speaker 3: attitude player, someone who's won titles with the Aces and
- 43:08Speaker 3: comes in as a veteran.
- 43:09Speaker 4: It's going to bring just great vibes.
- 43:11Speaker 3: And then do Wanna Bonner one of the greatest scores
- 43:13Speaker 3: of all time in the WNBA. She's one of those
- 43:16Speaker 3: players that when you're watching her, she is so tall
- 43:19Speaker 3: and so skinny that you're like, how is she not
- 43:21Speaker 3: getting broken on every plan? And said she's out there,
- 43:24Speaker 3: you know, averaging sixteen plus a game and just dominating.
- 43:27Speaker 1: I have three final questions for either, completely independent of
- 43:31Speaker 1: anything we've talked about, and number one is that you
- 43:34Speaker 1: played lacrosse at Cornell.
- 43:36Speaker 4: No heptathlon.
- 43:37Speaker 1: What wait, that's even better.
- 43:40Speaker 4: Someone got your bad info?
- 43:41Speaker 1: Well yeah, well no, that's even better. Yeah, I blame Kevin.
- 43:45Speaker 1: We can show Kevin on his show because I didn't
- 43:47Speaker 1: know that I was surprised by that, which is why
- 43:48Speaker 1: I was asking the people responsible. He's responsible. So I
- 43:52Speaker 1: was shocked by that, But now I'm even more shocked
- 43:54Speaker 1: that you did that. So what how many.
- 43:57Speaker 4: Is that heptathlon? Is?
- 43:59Speaker 3: It's seven long jump high jump hurdles eight hundred?
- 44:03Speaker 5: Shopping didn't count that high?
- 44:04Speaker 1: I thought I was one.
- 44:05Speaker 3: You stopped at six.
- 44:06Speaker 1: Wait, so which were you best at? What did you
- 44:09Speaker 1: thrive at? And then what was your worst? Uh that
- 44:11Speaker 1: you had to like?
- 44:13Speaker 4: Yeah, take javelin.
- 44:15Speaker 3: Javelin and javelin long jumping hurdles were my best. And
- 44:19Speaker 3: eight hundred it's the last event. You're you're tired, you're sore,
- 44:23Speaker 3: and you got to basically sprint half a mile. Not
- 44:26Speaker 3: great for me, is it.
- 44:27Speaker 1: I've done a couple of trathlons, and that's not that's
- 44:30Speaker 1: only three, that's not seven because seven, well they don't give.
- 44:33Speaker 4: Any looks seven swimming and biking in there with part
- 44:35Speaker 4: in mind.
- 44:35Speaker 1: But sure, yeap, But but when what they put the
- 44:38Speaker 1: swimming first because they don't want you to die honestly
- 44:40Speaker 1: because it was a drown. Yeah, when you and they
- 44:42Speaker 1: have tathlon and because I have no knowledge of this,
- 44:46Speaker 1: do they put them in an order based on what
- 44:49Speaker 1: you just said, because of things that could possibly go
- 44:52Speaker 1: wrong if you're more exhausted at one of.
- 44:53Speaker 3: Them, I would say, yeah, safety for sure. And also
- 44:57Speaker 3: an eight hundred is an empty the tank event, Like
- 45:00Speaker 3: you couldn't run an eight hundred knowing you have to
- 45:02Speaker 3: save your legs for long jumper hurdles or something, so
- 45:05Speaker 3: they put that last. So it's like after this you
- 45:08Speaker 3: just get to lie down. If you ever watch like
- 45:10Speaker 3: it's one of my favorite things when I try to
- 45:11Speaker 3: explain to people, like the camaraderie of people and have
- 45:14Speaker 3: tathline because you're moving event to event together over and
- 45:17Speaker 3: over all day for two days, so you just like
- 45:18Speaker 3: know each other well, so it's like you bond with
- 45:20Speaker 3: your opponent's a lot. But also at the end of
- 45:22Speaker 3: the eight hundred, they are all flat on their backs
- 45:25Speaker 3: on the track dead, just like that was it. That
- 45:27Speaker 3: was all I had. I gave it all. I'm not
- 45:29Speaker 3: moving for a couple of days, and you could just
- 45:32Speaker 3: tell that that's that's it.
- 45:34Speaker 1: Side question I'm going to ask, actually ask a question
- 45:36Speaker 1: you want to bark. I say, Kevin, why did you
- 45:37Speaker 1: think she played lacrosse? Like where did that come from
- 45:41Speaker 1: you're my I don't.
- 45:42Speaker 6: I don't see the light.
- 45:44Speaker 1: You've embarrassing me in front of my friend.
- 45:45Speaker 6: Yeah, because I was.
- 45:46Speaker 1: I was shot by that, which is why I was
- 45:47Speaker 1: bringing it up.
- 45:48Speaker 6: I've embarrassed myself in front of your friend. Yeah, I
- 45:51Speaker 6: blame the internet.
- 45:52Speaker 4: That's where would it say I played lacrosse on the internet?
- 45:55Speaker 1: That's wild? Yeah.
- 45:55Speaker 3: The internet also says my husband is a billionaire, which
- 45:58Speaker 3: you know, there are things we wish for.
- 46:00Speaker 6: True on the internet.
- 46:02Speaker 1: Interesting. Yeah, he'll be nice, he'll be whipped after a
- 46:07Speaker 1: Bulls fan. Yeah, Josh Getty, I thoughts, Yeah, well I
- 46:15Speaker 1: meant you made a funny noise. He's played well but weird.
- 46:17Speaker 1: But okay, go ahead.
- 46:19Speaker 4: Yeah, but I mean there's some stuff with Josh.
- 46:20Speaker 1: Getty that we're all Yes, That's why I asked the question.
- 46:24Speaker 3: Yeah, I'm more interested in talking about Kobe White. How
- 46:28Speaker 3: exciting is like, you know, listen, let me tell you,
- 46:31Speaker 3: Let me take you inside the world of a Bulls
- 46:32Speaker 3: fan in Chicago. Right now.
- 46:34Speaker 4: They messed up.
- 46:35Speaker 3: The local sports network so bad that in order to
- 46:38Speaker 3: watch the games, you have to put a satellite dish
- 46:42Speaker 3: on your house.
- 46:44Speaker 4: What year is it?
- 46:45Speaker 3: You can't pay you can't subscribe. Like nobody in Chicago,
- 46:49Speaker 3: very few people are even watching the games because they
- 46:51Speaker 3: so royally screwed us over with the new network that
- 46:55Speaker 3: it's like it's it's it's literally impossible for some people
- 46:59Speaker 3: to get the games unless they go to the United
- 47:00Speaker 3: Center and watch them in person.
- 47:02Speaker 1: Yeah, that sucks, especially so disappointing like Chicago and no
- 47:06Speaker 1: offense like Salt Lake City. But I would think, okay,
- 47:10Speaker 1: right when.
- 47:10Speaker 3: I used to see that in other markets, I'd be like, wow,
- 47:12Speaker 3: that's so backwards. I feel so bad for them. They're
- 47:15Speaker 3: so behind the times.
- 47:16Speaker 4: And I'm like, here and here's the thing.
- 47:17Speaker 3: So back in the day, the owner of the Blackhawks,
- 47:20Speaker 3: so this is the same thing for the Blackhawks, Like
- 47:22Speaker 3: they're on that same network, almost no one can watch them.
- 47:24Speaker 3: Back in the day, the owner of the black Hawks
- 47:25Speaker 3: thought it would encourage more people to come in person
- 47:27Speaker 3: if you black them out in the local markets so
- 47:29Speaker 3: that they'd have to come watch. And instead just no
- 47:31Speaker 3: one cared and no one paid attention to them. And
- 47:33Speaker 3: when when he passed away, the sun took over and
- 47:36Speaker 3: was like, we got to get us back on TV.
- 47:37Speaker 3: That's when they started winning all the titles, and it
- 47:39Speaker 3: was like, clearly, we would never do that again, and
- 47:41Speaker 3: yet here.
- 47:42Speaker 1: We are right rest in peace around the horn.
- 47:46Speaker 3: Yeah, some exciting news that I can't quite share yet,
- 47:49Speaker 3: so I'll just give you a tease that there are
- 47:50Speaker 3: going to be some things that happen over the end
- 47:53Speaker 3: of the show's run that I think people will be
- 47:55Speaker 3: excited about.
- 47:56Speaker 4: I'm so sad it's going away.
- 47:58Speaker 3: I just think it's so special, not just for all
- 48:01Speaker 3: of us on it that really felt like it was
- 48:02Speaker 3: like a family and Tony really was our little TV dad.
- 48:05Speaker 3: But I think also just it was very unique in presentation,
- 48:10Speaker 3: in style, in different perspectives and hearing from different cities.
- 48:14Speaker 3: It's just everything so debatey now, and it was a
- 48:17Speaker 3: lot more nuanced and I thought really fun, especially the
- 48:19Speaker 3: Halloween shows.
- 48:21Speaker 1: I'm a massive lifelong Cubs fan. How you feel about
- 48:25Speaker 1: counsel Jurys still out.
- 48:28Speaker 3: I think when you have as much success as he
- 48:30Speaker 3: had before arriving, you have to assume that there's still
- 48:33Speaker 3: a lot good stuff to come. I'm just consistently disappointed
- 48:37Speaker 3: with how the Cubs of late have acted like a
- 48:39Speaker 3: small market team. I don't expect everyone to be the
- 48:41Speaker 3: Dodgers and spend, spend, spend, But I.
- 48:44Speaker 4: Just there's not enough pieces.
- 48:46Speaker 3: I'm excited about Tucker obviously, Chota is really exciting. I
- 48:49Speaker 3: look forward to another year hopefully justin Steel dominating.
- 48:53Speaker 4: I just don't think there's enough.
- 48:55Speaker 3: Like you look at them against the teams that have
- 48:57Speaker 3: these stacked rosters, and I don't think they've done enough.
- 49:00Speaker 4: And to me, that's a choice.
- 49:01Speaker 3: That's a team that knows they're going to make a
- 49:03Speaker 3: ton of money because everybody wants to come to Wrigley
- 49:04Speaker 3: every year and buy the gear and everything. But you know,
- 49:08Speaker 3: time to get back in the business of contending.
- 49:11Speaker 1: I tell my friends, because I've been a loser in
- 49:15Speaker 1: my whole life. With my two teams, which is Arkansas
- 49:17Speaker 1: and the Cup. We had twenty sixteen and that was amazing.
- 49:19Speaker 1: I went to work too. I went to Game two.
- 49:20Speaker 1: We lost to the Indians, but we ended up still winning.
- 49:23Speaker 1: It was great.
- 49:23Speaker 3: I went to All seven. It was so you didn't
- 49:25Speaker 3: have to flex.
- 49:26Speaker 1: You have to flex. I was in the middle of
- 49:27Speaker 1: my story. You didn't have to flex on me right there.
- 49:28Speaker 1: But that's that's all good. And I tell I was
- 49:31Speaker 1: talking to friend the other day about it. And we're
- 49:33Speaker 1: talking baseball, and because he's hit, one of his best
- 49:36Speaker 1: friends is the gym for the Dodgers, and I was like, man,
- 49:39Speaker 1: you guys have money. And he asked me, what does
- 49:41Speaker 1: it feel like sucking? I said, you know what, I
- 49:43Speaker 1: think I die And I'm okay because there were like
- 49:46Speaker 1: two generations ahead of us that never got to see it.
- 49:49Speaker 1: Never suck, like yeah, parents and grandparents, unless unless you
- 49:52Speaker 1: were alive, and oh wait, you never got to see it.
- 49:54Speaker 1: So even though I want to win and I expect
- 49:57Speaker 1: to be competitive and i'd like to see us spend money,
- 50:00Speaker 1: it right, we.
- 50:01Speaker 3: Could still have joy because of twenty sixteen. For the
- 50:04Speaker 3: kids out there, he means nineteen oh eight, not two
- 50:07Speaker 3: thousand and eight. You unless you were alive at nineteen
- 50:09Speaker 3: o eight, because it was over a century ago. There
- 50:13Speaker 3: are two o eights he could be referred to. I
- 50:15Speaker 3: completely agree. Remember talking to Boston Vans and they were
- 50:17Speaker 3: kind of telling me the only thing that sucks is
- 50:19Speaker 3: once you break the streak and you win, you're just
- 50:22Speaker 3: every season's a disappointment and you're mad because now you
- 50:24Speaker 3: expect to win every year. And I was like, no,
- 50:26Speaker 3: that's a choice, Like you could choose to come off
- 50:28Speaker 3: the mountain of happiness about the wind and start complaining
- 50:31Speaker 3: every year, I'm just going to stay on top of
- 50:33Speaker 3: the mountain. And so yes, of course I want them
- 50:34Speaker 3: to spend, I want them to contend, I want them
- 50:37Speaker 3: to be good. But I have not lost the joy
- 50:39Speaker 3: and the gratitude of being alive for twenty sixteen because
- 50:42Speaker 3: to your point during that run, I mean, I'm getting
- 50:44Speaker 3: goosebumps literally just talking about the number of people that
- 50:47Speaker 3: took radios to a gravestone to listen with someone that
- 50:51Speaker 3: they lost, that didn't make it long enough. The chalk
- 50:54Speaker 3: writing on the side of Wrigley Field on the bricks,
- 50:56Speaker 3: like shouting out people that couldn't.
- 50:58Speaker 4: Be there and weren't alive for it.
- 51:00Speaker 3: I don't know, there's something particularly romantic about baseball, and
- 51:02Speaker 3: particularly about this just the Cub's history that you'll never
- 51:06Speaker 3: get me to not get kind of teary eyed about
- 51:09Speaker 3: the fact that we got to be alive.
- 51:10Speaker 1: And see that my final question, and we mentioned before
- 51:14Speaker 1: you came on just again, you guys listen to a
- 51:16Speaker 1: good game with Sarah Spain wherever you get your podcast.
- 51:19Speaker 1: But we're literally on a podcast, So that's like going
- 51:23Speaker 1: not right here.
- 51:24Speaker 3: If you're getting your podcasts here, you can't get it here,
- 51:27Speaker 3: but anywhere else.
- 51:28Speaker 1: Yeah, she's very funny. Obviously she knows sports. And you're
- 51:33Speaker 1: doing a thing at the Women's Final four with Sue Bird,
- 51:35Speaker 1: who I love AND's got a chance to know. I
- 51:37Speaker 1: don't know Diana Trossi at all, but but Sue's awesome.
- 51:39Speaker 1: What are you guys doing there?
- 51:41Speaker 3: We're doing a live show for Capital One, just going
- 51:44Speaker 3: to talk about their relationship, Diana retiring.
- 51:47Speaker 4: I have another tease.
- 51:48Speaker 3: I can't give too many details, but if you're a
- 51:50Speaker 3: fan of John Oliver's show and the way he sort
- 51:52Speaker 3: of takes his show from on the air to into
- 51:55Speaker 3: the world, you know, he'll like do a story about
- 51:57Speaker 3: a mascot and then buy that mascot, or he'll do
- 52:01Speaker 3: a story and then you know, end up having the
- 52:03Speaker 3: John Oliver Kuala Chlamydia Unit in Australia as a results
- 52:07Speaker 3: of the story. Like he just takes the show and
- 52:09Speaker 3: brings it out, breaks the fourth wall. I have a
- 52:11Speaker 3: little moment with Dina Tarassi in honor of her retirement
- 52:14Speaker 3: that we'll be announced during that show and then that's
- 52:16Speaker 3: gonna air. I think the Monday after the Final four.
- 52:19Speaker 3: But anybody in Tampa can come watch that show in person.
- 52:21Speaker 3: It's gonna be a blast.
- 52:22Speaker 1: And Okay, and the final question is when you walked
- 52:25Speaker 1: off the field in your little cross career, like, what
- 52:27Speaker 1: was your what was your final thought as you left
- 52:30Speaker 1: the field.
- 52:30Speaker 3: I think I think it was like, wow, I should
- 52:32Speaker 3: have learned the rules. Yeah, and I don't know what
- 52:34Speaker 3: position I am and why am I dressed for high jump?
- 52:37Speaker 1: Exactly? Sarah, you're the best. You guys follow It's in
- 52:40Speaker 1: the notes, but on Instagram Sarah's Bane twenty three, twenty three. Uh,
- 52:44Speaker 1: just to go look at the notes. We have it
- 52:45Speaker 1: all there. Appreciate you if you do an awesome job.
- 52:48Speaker 5: You guys saw su Yeah, she was on on the stage.
- 52:52Speaker 1: Oh you didn't like I saw you.
- 52:53Speaker 3: I saw you at the super Bowl. You just don't
- 52:55Speaker 3: remember because you were in the zone. You were getting
- 52:57Speaker 3: ready for me, Bobby. But we said hello.
- 52:59Speaker 5: Yes, you guys said hello, and you didn't say anything.
- 53:02Speaker 5: You don't remember said hello to you.
- 53:04Speaker 3: Okay.
- 53:07Speaker 4: I think you were like, who was this lady?
- 53:09Speaker 1: I'm no, that's not true.
- 53:10Speaker 4: Me get out of your way.
- 53:11Speaker 1: That would not be true. That would not be true
- 53:13Speaker 1: in a million years, because I told I actually the
- 53:15Speaker 1: first time we met, went to you and was like, hey,
- 53:17Speaker 1: I'm a massive fan, and here's when I used to know.
- 53:19Speaker 3: We had a blast, and we had a blast in France.
- 53:21Speaker 3: And maybe you didn't recognize me. Maybe I was off
- 53:23Speaker 3: my game, maybe I looked weird. I don't know. Maybe I.
- 53:28Speaker 1: Lacross Jersey. That's that's what it is. Sarah, thank you
- 53:31Speaker 1: and hopefully we'll talk to you soon.

- 54:58Speaker 1: So we've had an attorney and we're going to set
- 55:01Speaker 1: up an escrow for the pickleball challenge. It should be
- 55:05Speaker 1: in Cleveland. I don't feel comfortable planing this guy's home court.
- 55:07Speaker 1: We have to find a different court in Cleveland. But
- 55:10Speaker 1: I've not spoken to the guy. So I'm going to
- 55:15Speaker 1: give you his Twitter.
- 55:17Speaker 6: Yeah, okay, Yeah, don't worry. I'm on Twitter. There's no TikTok,
- 55:20Speaker 6: TikTok Facebook.
- 55:21Speaker 1: Okay, I thought I call it TikTok. Why are you
- 55:26Speaker 1: on Twitter but not TikTok when TikTok is so much better?
- 55:28Speaker 6: Because Twitter is hilarious.
- 55:31Speaker 1: Twitter is the worst now and for.
- 55:32Speaker 6: Sports like it's the best place still to get I
- 55:35Speaker 6: know a lot of it is fake news, but it's
- 55:37Speaker 6: still great spot to get news quick. I think TikTok's better.
- 55:42Speaker 6: See I I can't really compare her.
- 55:44Speaker 1: That's our point. Well, then get on it, man, I
- 55:46Speaker 1: use TikTok for so much news. If you're not algorithm it,
- 55:49Speaker 1: you can just search and do recent and you can
- 55:52Speaker 1: see all news for everything. Not my point, I digree.
- 55:57Speaker 1: If you go to my Twitter page, I can find
- 56:02Speaker 1: the guy's name. I need you to message him and say, hey,
- 56:06Speaker 1: this is Kevin. I'm with Bobby Bones. We have an
- 56:09Speaker 1: attorney that is going to set up an escrow. Just
- 56:12Speaker 1: wondering if we want to start moving forward on setting
- 56:16Speaker 1: up a pickleball showdown for the one thousand dollars each
- 56:21Speaker 1: challenge that type thing. So can you do that reaching out.
- 56:24Speaker 6: Yeah, he's under your account.
- 56:28Speaker 1: Yeah when you say stuff like that, I have a
- 56:30Speaker 1: feeling you're.
- 56:30Speaker 6: Not, like, is he under a post or that that
- 56:32Speaker 6: you had on the Yeah, I.
- 56:34Speaker 1: Can just send it to you, Okay, but I'm gonna
- 56:36Speaker 1: have you be that guy.
- 56:37Speaker 6: Yeah, I'm not gonna have a blue check.
- 56:38Speaker 5: That's the liaison.
- 56:39Speaker 6: I do not have a blue check.
- 56:41Speaker 1: Check. You don't have to now pay?
- 56:43Speaker 6: But do they don't? They have to follow you to
- 56:45Speaker 6: see the message?
- 56:46Speaker 1: Depends. He's not a normal dude. I did read because
- 56:50Speaker 1: he commented on something. He's like, yeah, I haven't turned
- 56:52Speaker 1: in for a iron Man recently. This guy's a four
- 56:57Speaker 1: year Division one athlete, a wrestler, troll iron man and like,
- 57:04Speaker 1: I want to go playing pickle ball. I'm representing. I'm
- 57:06Speaker 1: representing the little man. Every This is great representing the
- 57:09Speaker 1: little man and now I'm gonna.
- 57:10Speaker 7: Go do it.
- 57:10Speaker 6: I can't wait to see this guy.
- 57:11Speaker 5: How is this not going to be on Netflix? I'm
- 57:13Speaker 5: just confused, Like, this is.
- 57:14Speaker 1: Well, we haven't gotten to actually agree to it yet.
- 57:16Speaker 6: It's true, so I stream it?
- 57:18Speaker 1: Oh we would, ok, yeah, we would probably. We probably
- 57:22Speaker 1: put Bybones channel on my YouTube channel.
- 57:25Speaker 6: Nice this is a big deal.
- 57:28Speaker 1: Yeah, you know, like when he hasn't said yes yet.
- 57:31Speaker 1: I don't even know what his name is. So will
- 57:33Speaker 1: you reach out yes? Okay, next up on the agenda.
- 57:40Speaker 1: Got this that was like a formal letter. No, they
- 57:43Speaker 1: just typed and printed it. That's formal now because it
- 57:46Speaker 1: was folded three ways like it was in a letter. Hey, Mike,
- 57:49Speaker 1: can you hear me? Yes? I can. You're gonna like this.
- 57:52Speaker 1: So all of us are here A long time listener
- 57:58Speaker 1: and I have beinge listened to pretty much all your more.
- 58:00Speaker 1: He shows you guys are awesome, hilarious. I hope you
- 58:02Speaker 1: guys enjoy and have a great day Austin. And then
- 58:04Speaker 1: he sent us these gifts. These are awesome.
- 58:09Speaker 6: Really what we got here, it's hard to get you excited.
- 58:12Speaker 1: It is possibly one of the coolest kids I've ever gotten.
- 58:15Speaker 1: If I were to get this for my birthday from
- 58:18Speaker 1: my wife, I would go, that's awesome. And it's hard
- 58:21Speaker 1: to get me anything that I think, Oh, it's impossible
- 58:25Speaker 1: that I go, Wow, that's really cool. You took the
- 58:27Speaker 1: time to think about it, because it's not about how
- 58:29Speaker 1: much of the cost. It's like the effort at the
- 58:30Speaker 1: time thinking so I'm going to show you mine first. Okay,
- 58:34Speaker 1: it's from Austin. So here is the certificate of authenticity. Right,
- 58:39Speaker 1: So it's just means it's real. Okay, it's in a
- 58:41Speaker 1: box and you open it up and it's it's a
- 58:44Speaker 1: First of all, it's a pin. It's a really nice pin, right,
- 58:47Speaker 1: red nice pin. Certificate of Authenticity Hard and Pin Works
- 58:51Speaker 1: LLC certifies that materials supplied to this This pin was
- 58:57Speaker 1: made from the plastic seats of Donald W. Reynolds Razor
- 58:59Speaker 1: Back Stadium. Oh, that's Razorback Stadium is a football stadium
- 59:03Speaker 1: a favorbe Arkansas. It is served as and then goes
- 59:06Speaker 1: to the history. The first game is played in nineteen
- 59:09Speaker 1: thirty eight. The material is guaranteed to be one hundred
- 59:10Speaker 1: percent authentic Razorback Stadium. Red freaking pin made of Arkansas
- 59:18Speaker 1: Razorback football Stadium.
- 59:19Speaker 6: That's freaking cool.
- 59:20Speaker 5: That is really cool. So they like retired seats maybe
- 59:22Speaker 5: or something that they recycled and turn into seats. That's
- 59:25Speaker 5: really cool.
- 59:25Speaker 6: That takes some thought.
- 59:27Speaker 1: Tell me that that is not one of the coolest gifts.
- 59:30Speaker 1: I gotta get the Saustin guy on the phone at
- 59:32Speaker 1: some point. That's really okay.
- 59:33Speaker 5: Next up, you've always kind of wanted to be pin
- 59:41Speaker 5: guy too, Yeah.
- 59:42Speaker 3: I know.
- 59:43Speaker 1: I became watch guy, but then I just lose pins.
- 59:45Speaker 5: Pins are so far sunglasses, I lose them stick.
- 59:49Speaker 1: Yeah. Next up, make sure works. This one's a bit different.
- 1:00:00Speaker 1: Hard and Pin Works. LLC certifies that the materials applied
- 1:00:03Speaker 1: to La La La La is from the seats of

- 1:00:18Speaker 1: That's what your balls, Kevin. Come take your pen all right,
- 1:00:23Speaker 1: I'm coming. And there is a there's the little filler
- 1:00:28Speaker 1: like the actual inat because it's like a real nice
- 1:00:29Speaker 1: pine that Tennessee orange to put that in there.

- 1:01:48Speaker 5: Mean, look, this is Cowboy blue.
- 1:01:52Speaker 1: Wow, this is really cool. Austin, Eddie got Cowboys. What

- 1:01:56Speaker 1: it's not worse, is it?
- 1:01:58Speaker 6: Texas?
- 1:02:00Speaker 1: Oh that would be interesting. I think you're gonna like

- 1:02:23Speaker 1: University of Texas. I'm gonna show you yours. If you
- 1:02:26Speaker 1: look at it, it looks kind of what's that look like
- 1:02:27Speaker 1: from there? Like a light purple gray. It's like a wood.
- 1:02:31Speaker 1: It's wood. Yeah, maybe it's just like it's wood. You
- 1:02:35Speaker 1: can see the wooden grains on it and everything wooden grains. Okay,
- 1:02:39Speaker 1: what is that though? Authenticity? Mike this pin? Okay, so
- 1:02:52Speaker 1: it's from it's from a specific tree, and then thinking
- 1:02:55Speaker 1: what do they killed the tree to make a pin?
- 1:02:56Speaker 1: They did not. Half of the tree fell due to
- 1:02:59Speaker 1: trunk rot after being hit by lightning. The tree was
- 1:03:03Speaker 1: further damaged in July twenty sixteen due to strong winds.
- 1:03:06Speaker 1: The remaining portions of the tree were cut down April nine,
- 1:03:08Speaker 1: twenty seventeen, by the property owner. This tree has been
- 1:03:13Speaker 1: described as among the most iconic trees in film history.
- 1:03:17Speaker 1: The remains of the tree have been turned into pop
- 1:03:18Speaker 1: culture merchandise such as pins, knives, and hammers. Any idea,
- 1:03:24Speaker 1: what tree? This is from? The Lionking tree? Now that
- 1:03:28Speaker 1: wasn't real, but it was inspired by like a real tree.
- 1:03:31Speaker 1: This is a real tree. This tree was located on
- 1:03:34Speaker 1: private property at a place called Malabar Farm. Did say
- 1:03:41Speaker 1: the state, Yeah, Richland County, Ohio. But that doesn't mean
- 1:03:49Speaker 1: that doesn't mean it's going to lead you to where
- 1:03:52Speaker 1: it is in Ohio. What could a tree be in Ohio?
- 1:03:57Speaker 1: Movie related? Any guesses, guys, could be Forrest Gump. It's
- 1:04:04Speaker 1: a good guess. It's not it, but because Jenny, you know,
- 1:04:08Speaker 1: talking about a dangle, but equal m in the spectrum
- 1:04:14Speaker 1: of cinema. Okay, what do you think, Mike, I'm trying
- 1:04:21Speaker 1: to think of a famous movie tree. This tree played
- 1:04:25Speaker 1: a central role in the film's plot. It was one
- 1:04:28Speaker 1: of the most popular tourist sites connected to it. The
- 1:04:30Speaker 1: tree was las one hundred feet tall and approximately one
- 1:04:33Speaker 1: hundred eighty to two hundred years old. It was featured
- 1:04:36Speaker 1: in the motion picture The movie came out in the nineties. Shawshank,
- 1:04:41Speaker 1: YESO nice. The Shawshank Redemption Tree was the white oak
- 1:04:46Speaker 1: located in your you know the tree where.
- 1:04:48Speaker 5: Yeah, it's working.
- 1:04:50Speaker 1: This is from that tree. Dang, that's cool. And here's
- 1:04:53Speaker 1: your certificate of authenticity. That's that is so cool? Man.
- 1:04:58Speaker 1: These are really really cool gifts. Dude, this is the
- 1:05:01Speaker 1: craziest thing that we don't even deserve these, we do not.
- 1:05:05Speaker 1: So here's your same says something shawshank Tree.
- 1:05:12Speaker 5: Or get visite writing.
- 1:05:14Speaker 1: Writing that's true, that's right, is better. So we want
- 1:05:19Speaker 1: to shout out Austin. Shout out thank you Austin, because
- 1:05:23Speaker 1: that is pretty freaking sick. And and we don't really
- 1:05:29Speaker 1: like beg and solicit for gifts. And a lot of
- 1:05:32Speaker 1: times we give way stuff because I'm like, I don't
- 1:05:34Speaker 1: people send into stuff just because they want either promotion
- 1:05:38Speaker 1: or this was not that at all. It was just
- 1:05:40Speaker 1: somebody who was kind and thought of all of us.
- 1:05:42Speaker 5: And did that Did you get another little piece to
- 1:05:44Speaker 5: a plastic of just like the recycled plastic?
- 1:05:47Speaker 3: I don't know.
- 1:05:48Speaker 1: I didn't. I didn't.
- 1:05:48Speaker 5: It's it was in my box, like I got like
- 1:05:50Speaker 5: a little just a will they just dropped it.

- 1:06:17Speaker 1: but I can't. We made it sweet sixteen. Sorry, dude,
- 1:06:19Speaker 1: Now you know it's okay. I don't expect even making
- 1:06:21Speaker 1: it to sweet sixteen this year because next year I'm
- 1:06:23Speaker 1: feeling pretty good about it. Okay, all right, we're covered
