- 0:00Speaker 1: I am Sherry Mackie and his time for us to
- 0:03Speaker 1: go to God in prayer, and as always I ask
- 0:06Speaker 1: that you join along with me in prayer. Recently I
- 0:09Speaker 1: got the news that several of my friends have experienced
- 0:13Speaker 1: significant loss. So today I just want to pray for
- 0:16Speaker 1: those that are experiencing grief today, whether it's my friend
- 0:22Speaker 1: Craig who lost his mom, pat and the loss of toy,
- 0:26Speaker 1: or the angelic voices of Faith or author and a
- 0:30Speaker 1: niece Robinson. Now let's pray, Heavenly Father, in the name
- 0:33Speaker 1: of Jesus Christ. We come before you today with hearts
- 0:37Speaker 1: that are heavy, God, heavy with sorrow, with questions, and
- 0:42Speaker 1: with deep ache of loss. Lord, you are close to
- 0:46Speaker 1: the broken heart, and that's what you said in your word.
- 0:49Speaker 1: You said you save those who are Christian spirits. So God,
- 0:52Speaker 1: today we lean into your presence. Right now, God, we
- 0:56Speaker 1: lift up every husband morning his wife, every son mourning
- 1:03Speaker 1: the loss of his mother, every father grieving his child,
- 1:08Speaker 1: every daughter missing her mom, every friend who has had
- 1:12Speaker 1: to say goodbye too soon. God, you know their names,
- 1:15Speaker 1: you know their tears, and you know their silent cries
- 1:19Speaker 1: that words can't even express. God, you see the moments
- 1:23Speaker 1: when they smile for others. But God, they're broken and
- 1:27Speaker 1: hurting inside. You see the pillows staining with tears, the
- 1:31Speaker 1: empty chair at the table, and the memories that play
- 1:34Speaker 1: over and over and over again in their minds. Lord,
- 1:39Speaker 1: we pray and we ask for peace, not the peace
- 1:43Speaker 1: that the world gives, but the kind God that calms
- 1:46Speaker 1: the storm inside, even when the storm outside still rages. God,
- 1:50Speaker 1: wrap them in your loving arms and your comfort. God.
- 1:54Speaker 1: Let them feel you near in the quiet moments and
- 1:57Speaker 1: the knights that feel endless, and in the mornings when
- 2:01Speaker 1: getting up feels impossible. God, we pray that you would
- 2:05Speaker 1: strengthen them moment by moment, give them grace for the
- 2:08Speaker 1: hard day's, courage for the lonely days, and hope for
- 2:12Speaker 1: the days ahead. Help them, God, not to rush their healing,
- 2:16Speaker 1: but to take step by step with you in this
- 2:20Speaker 1: healing process. Remind them that it's okay to cry, It's
- 2:26Speaker 1: okay God, to miss, It's okay God to remember and reflect,
- 2:31Speaker 1: and that they don't have to pretend to be strong
- 2:33Speaker 1: because You are strong for them and our weakness. God,
- 2:37Speaker 1: you are strong. Jesus, you wept at the tomb of
- 2:42Speaker 1: a friend. You know grief. You understand love loss. You
- 2:45Speaker 1: are not distant from our pain. You enter it with us.
- 2:49Speaker 1: And because of you, God, death is not the end
- 2:52Speaker 1: for us. There's hope beyond the grave. There's life after
- 2:56Speaker 1: this life. So for those who mourn, and remind them
- 3:00Speaker 1: that love does not die. It lives on in the
- 3:04Speaker 1: legacy and the laughter and the stories, and most of
- 3:06Speaker 1: all God and each of us. God, we speak peace
- 3:11Speaker 1: over every grieving soul listening right now. God, I speak
- 3:15Speaker 1: rest to their weary hearts, and I speak hope that,
- 3:19Speaker 1: even in the valley of the Shadow, God, that they
- 3:23Speaker 1: are not alone.
