- 0:02Speaker 1: This is an unspoiled network podcast. This is spoil Me
- 0:09Speaker 1: covering One Piece, just the One Piece episodes eight thirty
- 0:20Speaker 1: four through eight thirty five. I almost said the wrong ones.
- 0:24Speaker 1: The mission failed. The Big Mom Pirates strike back and
- 0:29Speaker 1: run Sanji sos Germa sixty six sixty six forget how
- 0:36Speaker 1: you guys like to say it. In these episodes, being
- 0:41Speaker 1: Mom does not have the reaction everybody was expecting. But
- 0:45Speaker 1: don't worry. It's just that she's overstimulated and I think
- 0:47Speaker 1: a lot of us can relate to that. Welcome to
- 0:52Speaker 1: spoil Me, Welcome to the show everyone. I am Natasha.
- 1:13Speaker 1: Thank you very much to Florian for commissioning this episode.
- 1:18Speaker 1: Double six Saraphi, thank you, thank you. And Florian is
- 1:25Speaker 1: mentioning some things in the chat that I'll mention here.
- 1:27Speaker 1: I will be transitioning to covering everything on the lives
- 1:33Speaker 1: on Patreon Live. I will not be using crowdcast starting
- 1:37Speaker 1: next year, and the next episode of One Piece isn't
- 1:39Speaker 1: until next year, So the very next One Piece Live
- 1:43Speaker 1: will be on Patreon. If you would like to come
- 1:46Speaker 1: and watch it, you just have to become a free
- 1:49Speaker 1: level Patreon member. You don't have to pay any money.
- 1:52Speaker 1: You just need to register as a member and that's it.
- 1:56Speaker 1: And I won't be having the events posted months ahead
- 2:00Speaker 1: the way that they are on crowdcast. It will be
- 2:03Speaker 1: that the events for the week will be posted Monday
- 2:07Speaker 1: to start the week off, and thus it will be
- 2:12Speaker 1: a little bit easier to keep track of and it
- 2:14Speaker 1: will also be a little bit easier on candae because
- 2:17Speaker 1: in the past, if things were changed, it resulted in
- 2:21Speaker 1: having to go back and change like twenty other events
- 2:25Speaker 1: that were upcoming because there was a domino effect and
- 2:28Speaker 1: everything had already been scheduled. But if we're only posting
- 2:32Speaker 1: the week that we do the events, it will be
- 2:34Speaker 1: a lot easier to like handle changes in that sort
- 2:36Speaker 1: of thing. Florian says, I have to say these two
- 2:40Speaker 1: are slow, but the next three episodes go so well
- 2:42Speaker 1: together and I can't wait for that. Well, that's awesome.
- 2:45Speaker 1: I'm excited. I will say, you know, these episodes aren't
- 2:49Speaker 1: that slow to me. I actually found myself really engaged throughout.
- 2:54Speaker 1: I was a little bit surprised at the fact that,
- 2:58Speaker 1: like Big Mom doesn't quite have the reaction we expect,
- 3:02Speaker 1: but I also feel like there being a little bit
- 3:06Speaker 1: of confusion and us milling around figuring out what happens
- 3:10Speaker 1: is totally okay, and I can't be mad whenever we
- 3:17Speaker 1: get a little bit more opportunity for Brooke to just
- 3:21Speaker 1: show boat, because he is my just kind of like
- 3:27Speaker 1: soulmate in terms a soul kingmate in terms of his
- 3:33Speaker 1: entire lack of seriousness in any given situation. It is
- 3:38Speaker 1: so fucking great, guys. I'm just gonna say right now
- 3:43Speaker 1: that his delivery again it just this voice actor. I
- 3:49Speaker 1: need to find out what else he's in. I just
- 3:52Speaker 1: go watch those things, and I'm sure that you know
- 3:55Speaker 1: it's a big part of why this is so great
- 3:58Speaker 1: is simply because it's the character choices he's making for
- 4:03Speaker 1: Brookes specifically, and that maybe this wouldn't be the kind
- 4:07Speaker 1: of delivery that he would do for any other character
- 4:10Speaker 1: he's the voice actor for. But he just has such
- 4:13Speaker 1: great comedic timing. I can't help but think that would
- 4:15Speaker 1: translate to a lot of characters. And y'all, there are
- 4:19Speaker 1: two points in these episodes, one of them where the
- 4:23Speaker 1: guys are like yelling that he ripped his own face off,
- 4:25Speaker 1: and He's like, no, guys, this is just my face.
- 4:29Speaker 1: And then the dudes yell like, oh my god, he's
- 4:31Speaker 1: so creepy, and he just goes, oh no, like I'm
- 4:37Speaker 1: not even doing it justice, and then he winds up
- 4:42Speaker 1: getting his head popped off and his head rolls up
- 4:44Speaker 1: next to Louviy, and Lufy's like, all right, Brooke, are
- 4:48Speaker 1: you all right? Yeah, I'm all right, Well I'm dead.
- 4:54Speaker 1: How are you doing? I fucking lost my shit, guys,
- 5:01Speaker 1: I don't know. That wasn't even that funny a ligne,
- 5:04Speaker 1: but the how are you doing? Is? It was just
- 5:08Speaker 1: so unexpected and such a non sequitur, and so weirdly
- 5:13Speaker 1: the choice of the way he like decided to say it.
- 5:17Speaker 1: It was all It caught me completely off guard, and
- 5:21Speaker 1: I just I fell apart laughing. I was cracking up.
- 5:24Speaker 1: It was so funny to me. I know that I
- 5:28Speaker 1: spend so many episodes just literally like trying to repeat
- 5:32Speaker 1: brooklines word for word with the same like delivery and
- 5:36Speaker 1: probably not doing it very well. But I can't apologize
- 5:40Speaker 1: for it because it's so fucking good. It's so good,
- 5:45Speaker 1: you know, Oh my god, I just ugh, so okay.
- 5:50Speaker 1: If only he didn't just ask to see panties all
- 5:52Speaker 1: the time, he would be like number one character with
- 5:56Speaker 1: no reservations whatsoever. But that panty thing just really that
- 6:01Speaker 1: just really cuts it off for me, and it has
- 6:03Speaker 1: to be Chopper. So reminder that the end of the
- 6:08Speaker 1: last section, we had Brooke in his weird little disguise
- 6:14Speaker 1: looking like a a loofy marionette kind of breaking Big
- 6:21Speaker 1: Mom's mother's portrait with a hammer, and you know, Big
- 6:28Speaker 1: Mom sees it, and she does indeed freak out, but
- 6:32Speaker 1: it isn't the type of freak out they were expecting
- 6:35Speaker 1: because they were waiting for a scream. There is this
- 6:40Speaker 1: fabled sort of scream that causes everybody to get laid
- 6:44Speaker 1: the fuck out, which is part of what we prepared
- 6:47Speaker 1: for with the ear plugs, and you know, just YadA YadA.
- 6:51Speaker 1: So when she doesn't react that way, there's this weird
- 6:56Speaker 1: sort of dead space where people have to fit figure
- 7:00Speaker 1: out what we're gonna do now that all hell is
- 7:02Speaker 1: breaking loose and we don't have her scream to sort
- 7:08Speaker 1: of signal the start of the next part of the plan.
- 7:11Speaker 1: You know, I also want to mention that Beggi he
- 7:16Speaker 1: in particular, you know, he was depending on this going
- 7:18Speaker 1: a certain way, and he's watching this and says like
- 7:23Speaker 1: just gotta wait one second and before like for her
- 7:27Speaker 1: to blow her wig I think is the way that
- 7:29Speaker 1: he says it. And I I listen to this podcast
- 7:38Speaker 1: called The Complete Guide to Everything, which I have mentioned before,
- 7:42Speaker 1: I think and I have there's a one particular episode
- 7:48Speaker 1: where this guy is trying to say like that she's
- 7:51Speaker 1: going to become really surprised, and he says she's gonna
- 7:55Speaker 1: get her wig blown off, And they eventually interrogate that
- 7:59Speaker 1: particular way of saying things and realize, oh, he's sort
- 8:05Speaker 1: of conflating she's going to be blown away with she's
- 8:10Speaker 1: going to get her hair or like whatever blows your
- 8:12Speaker 1: hair back, and they come to the conclusion that like
- 8:18Speaker 1: blow her wig off isn't a thing. It's just not
- 8:23Speaker 1: like actually an idiom. So when Beji says here it
- 8:29Speaker 1: like she's gonna blow her wig off, I was like,
- 8:31Speaker 1: oh shit, is it an idiom? Were we wrong about
- 8:34Speaker 1: all of that before? Like I genuinely am curious what
- 8:39Speaker 1: you guys all think, because I I, it's not familiar
- 8:45Speaker 1: to me. I don't remember it, you know. But it
- 8:49Speaker 1: could also just be that that's like part of the
- 8:51Speaker 1: translation thing as well. So I just don't know that one,
- 8:59Speaker 1: So let's see the reaction of being mom too. We
- 9:06Speaker 1: have like a I'm gonna jump ahead here a little bit.
- 9:09Speaker 1: I think it's fine. We find out eventually that Big
- 9:16Speaker 1: Mom got abandoned by her mother, and it's sort of
- 9:23Speaker 1: weird because like we don't really see the details of it,
- 9:28Speaker 1: and there's a sense in the way that her mother
- 9:31Speaker 1: waves goodbye that kind of points to the fact that
- 9:35Speaker 1: maybe she didn't abandon her daughter, that perhaps it wasn't
- 9:40Speaker 1: on purpose, that she did intend to come back to her.
- 9:43Speaker 1: There's just this sort of weird I'm not sure how
- 9:49Speaker 1: exactly to describe it, but it just feels as if
- 9:53Speaker 1: the mom just walked out on me sort of narrative.
- 9:58Speaker 1: Isn't really what was going on there, and it suggested
- 10:03Speaker 1: that there is a kind of like remaining trauma that
- 10:07Speaker 1: Big Mom is still coping with regarding being abandoned or
- 10:10Speaker 1: at least just not knowing where her mother is. And
- 10:13Speaker 1: she says something as well, like, uh, will you listen?
- 10:17Speaker 1: Nobody ever wants to listen to what I have to say,
- 10:22Speaker 1: which I am really curious what exactly would constitute to
- 10:28Speaker 1: her people wanting to listen to what she has to say.
- 10:31Speaker 1: Because like, from where I'm sitting, it certainly appears that
- 10:35Speaker 1: Big Mom gets exactly her way in everything and that
- 10:40Speaker 1: everybody listens to everything that she has to say. But uh,
- 10:45Speaker 1: you know, it's one thing for maybe people to like
- 10:48Speaker 1: obey your orders, and it's another thing for people to
- 10:50Speaker 1: really understand you. And so perhaps that's what it is,
- 10:55Speaker 1: is that she's feeling like lonely because nobody really understands
- 11:00Speaker 1: her vision or I don't know, but uh, this is
- 11:06Speaker 1: not like creating any sympathy for me with Big Mom exactly.
- 11:12Speaker 1: It may I'm not discounting that possibility entirely, but just saying,
- 11:17Speaker 1: for right now, you know, her mom walked out. It's
- 11:21Speaker 1: very sad, But also there are many people whose parents
- 11:24Speaker 1: walk out and they don't become absolute psychos, so, you
- 11:27Speaker 1: know whatever, But I am curious to learn more about
- 11:35Speaker 1: that and find out is her mother actually still alive
- 11:38Speaker 1: and out there somewhere. If Big Mom were to get
- 11:43Speaker 1: reunited with her mother, would it change anything for her
- 11:47Speaker 1: in terms of the way that she chooses to operate
- 11:49Speaker 1: or would she just keep on going the way she's
- 11:52Speaker 1: been going. Like I Uh, it's not that I dislike
- 11:59Speaker 1: the idea that big mom's personality might undergo a shift
- 12:04Speaker 1: so much as like sometimes that can be really easy
- 12:08Speaker 1: as a as a motivator for It's almost like a
- 12:14Speaker 1: dios ex machinat kind of thing, you know. But at
- 12:18Speaker 1: the same time, within like the ecosystem of one piece,
- 12:24Speaker 1: I think that I would be more willing to accept
- 12:27Speaker 1: that than I would with a lot of properties. I
- 12:30Speaker 1: think I would be willing to give some grace on that.
- 12:33Speaker 1: So yeah, curious about it, definitely, But I just wanted
- 12:38Speaker 1: to mention that it's not exactly giving her an excuse
- 12:45Speaker 1: this backstory so much as just giving us a little
- 12:48Speaker 1: bit of potential insight into like what it is that
- 12:54Speaker 1: is like her trauma in her past. So the like
- 13:04Speaker 1: what we wind up having to do because she sort
- 13:06Speaker 1: of loses track, I guess is the best way to
- 13:10Speaker 1: say it, of the fact that her mother's portrait was destroyed.
- 13:15Speaker 1: She winds up like they have to kind of regroup
- 13:20Speaker 1: and get her to see the broken portrait again later,
- 13:27Speaker 1: and that becomes like Loofy's mission is to pick it
- 13:30Speaker 1: up and hold it in front of her so that
- 13:32Speaker 1: she can't miss it and has to face it, you know.
- 13:35Speaker 1: I Okay, I mean just a sort of a weird
- 13:42Speaker 1: little glitch to throw into things. But it's okay, it's fine. So,
- 13:49Speaker 1: as I said, because she doesn't start screaming right away,
- 13:52Speaker 1: there turns out to be a lot more fighting immediately
- 13:56Speaker 1: than they had been expecting, because they thought her scream
- 13:59Speaker 1: would wind up laying out everyone so that the straw
- 14:04Speaker 1: hats could simply move into phase two of their plan.
- 14:06Speaker 1: And since that's not happening, we have all kinds of
- 14:10Speaker 1: straw not stra big mom pirates deciding it's time to
- 14:14Speaker 1: take Lufy out before he scuffers this entire red wedding
- 14:20Speaker 1: scenario and makes it so that none of this works,
- 14:23Speaker 1: because then she'll flip out even worse. In the meantime.
- 14:28Speaker 1: I should mention too, that all of the fake Louvi's
- 14:32Speaker 1: that are actually animals that have been transformed to look
- 14:36Speaker 1: like Loufy. They're just out there like assaulting wedding guests
- 14:43Speaker 1: and stuff. And I have got to say that was very,
- 14:50Speaker 1: very very funny to me. I think I just expected that, like, okay, well,
- 14:55Speaker 1: that part of the plan is over and so these
- 14:59Speaker 1: like reachers will be disabled somehow. I don't think I
- 15:04Speaker 1: thought through at all how that would even work because
- 15:08Speaker 1: we see that rule. She's got a whole other thing
- 15:11Speaker 1: going on with Caesar, so it's not like she's watching
- 15:14Speaker 1: this and judging when the time is right to like
- 15:17Speaker 1: kind of turn her spell off. And as far as
- 15:20Speaker 1: how the spell is even turned off, I don't know how.
- 15:26Speaker 1: There's just a kind of chaos with the fact that
- 15:32Speaker 1: they are still out there and doing whatever they're going
- 15:36Speaker 1: to do without that really having been part of Lufy's plan.
- 15:41Speaker 1: He wanted them all to like make enough of a
- 15:46Speaker 1: distraction so that he could jump out and it be
- 15:48Speaker 1: like a fun entrance, but clearly did not think beyond
- 15:54Speaker 1: that at all. So none of what's going on is
- 15:58Speaker 1: part of his plan. I'm assuming it's all just sort
- 16:00Speaker 1: of like circumstantial, and if it winds up hurting them,
- 16:03Speaker 1: then hurting them being the big mom pirates great, but
- 16:07Speaker 1: it might not. It might backfire on the straw hats,
- 16:10Speaker 1: and you know that won't be awesome if that happens.
- 16:13Speaker 1: So this is when Judge is like talking to what's
- 16:22Speaker 1: the lickety guy he always pero sparrow paro spress bio.
- 16:29Speaker 1: I don't know how you say that, but you know
- 16:32Speaker 1: the guy he does all of the tongue puns he is.
- 16:36Speaker 1: The Judge's telling him like, clearly shit's about to go left,
- 16:42Speaker 1: get us our weapons, and we will be able to
- 16:46Speaker 1: help you take care of this straw hat problem. And
- 16:51Speaker 1: he's like, yeah, you know what, we're good, We're fine.
- 16:57Speaker 1: We don't actually need help from you. Just kick back,
- 17:01Speaker 1: loosen up a little bit, and let us handle the
- 17:05Speaker 1: whole situation. Don't you worry your pretty little head about
- 17:09Speaker 1: it is like what it comes down to, really, And
- 17:12Speaker 1: you can see Judge being sort of like he can
- 17:18Speaker 1: smell something's not right, but he can't put his finger
- 17:22Speaker 1: on it. And later on, when it's revealed just how
- 17:26Speaker 1: deep this whole betrayal is gonna go, he's like, even
- 17:31Speaker 1: criminals have a fucking code of ethics. You're really gonna
- 17:35Speaker 1: do this, Like it's almost surprising to me how surprising
- 17:45Speaker 1: this is to him? Almost I actually I do accept it,
- 17:50Speaker 1: but I don't mean it's surprising in terms of like
- 17:53Speaker 1: the writing. I mean, this is what people can be like,
- 17:59Speaker 1: you know, where they're just the most absolute bastard like
- 18:06Speaker 1: backstabbing asshole who has no feelings for anybody, but they
- 18:12Speaker 1: have their own kind of code in their mind, and
- 18:17Speaker 1: they can be horrible to people and still be adhering
- 18:21Speaker 1: to their own code as far as they see it.
- 18:25Speaker 1: And so when something goes in a very different direction,
- 18:30Speaker 1: they're genuinely taken off guard by it because this isn't
- 18:34Speaker 1: the type of betrayal that they think is acceptable, because
- 18:38Speaker 1: there is a type, there is a level to which okay,
- 18:43Speaker 1: you know, all's fair, and this violates that. And it's
- 18:47Speaker 1: just this arbitrary line in the sand that they have
- 18:50Speaker 1: in their own mind, and they haven't actually like gotten
- 18:54Speaker 1: other people to sign on the dotted line regarding this
- 18:58Speaker 1: arbitrary line. Nobody else necessarily agrees with them about it.
- 19:03Speaker 1: They just think, well, we can all say that this
- 19:07Speaker 1: goes too far, right, No, we can't, and why would we,
- 19:12Speaker 1: because you are despicable and so of course nobody really
- 19:17Speaker 1: feels like they need to like keep their word to
- 19:21Speaker 1: you or honor anything regarding you and you. It's the
- 19:26Speaker 1: very like trite sort of lay down with dogs and
- 19:30Speaker 1: you're gonna get fleas whatever it was, So sorry, Sarah instance,
- 19:37Speaker 1: this is one piece Everyone has trauma backstories, but not
- 19:39Speaker 1: everyone becomes an asshole because of it, exactly exactly, so
- 19:44Speaker 1: we have this whole thing that like winds up happening
- 19:47Speaker 1: with Judge. I'm just gonna sort of finish up talking
- 19:51Speaker 1: about what's happening with him, because not a lot really
- 19:57Speaker 1: changes in these two episodes regarding the situation with him
- 20:02Speaker 1: and his children. They're pretty much they stay where we
- 20:05Speaker 1: have left them, and I don't expect any change is
- 20:10Speaker 1: there until Soanji is able to like do whatever it
- 20:13Speaker 1: is he's going to try and do. But what Judge
- 20:20Speaker 1: is experiencing is a really weird thing because he's sitting
- 20:24Speaker 1: there and they all wind up getting trapped seated at
- 20:28Speaker 1: this table in candy and it's like, you know, some
- 20:32Speaker 1: kind of special type of weaponized rock candy that they
- 20:37Speaker 1: can't break out of. There's no way to escape it,
- 20:40Speaker 1: and so they just have to sit and like the
- 20:46Speaker 1: way that it is described by Pero Sparrow whatever his
- 20:50Speaker 1: name is, he says that you're basically going to sit
- 20:54Speaker 1: here and die in this spot, tears and all. So
- 21:00Speaker 1: they will sit there and starve to death, you know,
- 21:04Speaker 1: which I will say, in practice, this is unlikely. It's
- 21:09Speaker 1: probable that if everything else were to be handled and
- 21:13Speaker 1: they were still trapped, they would just be killed by somebody,
- 21:17Speaker 1: you know, somebody would put a bullet through their heads
- 21:20Speaker 1: or torture them to death or whatever. But for now,
- 21:24Speaker 1: it doesn't seem that the the orders are explicitly to
- 21:32Speaker 1: kill them, which if you stop and think about it,
- 21:35Speaker 1: is sort of weird. This is the only like speed
- 21:41Speaker 1: bump for me. It's not even really a problem in
- 21:45Speaker 1: quotes for me, I'm, I'm it's totally fine, actually, But
- 21:51Speaker 1: I do want to point out that had the whole
- 21:54Speaker 1: plan been we're going to murder all of German Double
- 21:59Speaker 1: six because you know, we want their property and whatnot,
- 22:06Speaker 1: it appears to me that the wedding was successful and complete.
- 22:13Speaker 1: It seems that Sanji Inpudding are actually married. I may
- 22:17Speaker 1: be wrong about that, and you know, probably you guys
- 22:21Speaker 1: can't really tell me if I am right or wrong
- 22:23Speaker 1: on that. I don't know if that's like a spoiler,
- 22:26Speaker 1: But so far as I saw, the entire ceremony was
- 22:31Speaker 1: carried out. So if that is so, murdering all of
- 22:38Speaker 1: Jerma double six right now makes total sense, they should
- 22:44Speaker 1: just go ahead and do it. And the argument like
- 22:49Speaker 1: that I'm making here is not because this is not
- 22:52Speaker 1: what's the word I want. The writing includes a character
- 22:59Speaker 1: yelling at Parosparo, being like, what are you fucking waiting for?
- 23:05Speaker 1: Would you just get on with it and kill them? Dude?
- 23:07Speaker 1: Why are you still sitting there with him alive? So
- 23:11Speaker 1: this is not really an issue with the overall writing,
- 23:16Speaker 1: because he is aware as he's writing it that making
- 23:21Speaker 1: sure they are all dead is what would make the
- 23:24Speaker 1: most sense. I just can't figure out what it is
- 23:28Speaker 1: that Parisparo wants to keep them alive for he seems
- 23:32Speaker 1: to be like enjoying it is. Maybe all it is
- 23:36Speaker 1: is that it's like a kind of bulle thing for
- 23:39Speaker 1: him that he is getting off on just sort of
- 23:44Speaker 1: taunting them, I suppose. And I don't hate that as
- 23:51Speaker 1: a motivator, to be clear, because there are a lot
- 23:53Speaker 1: of people out there who are like that. You know.
- 23:56Speaker 1: It's more that for me, if that were his motive,
- 24:00Speaker 1: I would wish to have gotten to know him a
- 24:03Speaker 1: little bit better and to have reached this point with
- 24:08Speaker 1: the awareness that there is some sort of like particular
- 24:12Speaker 1: beef between him and Jerma that makes him want to
- 24:17Speaker 1: cause Judge to suffer. I don't want it to just
- 24:21Speaker 1: be ah, you know, he just sort of likes like now,
- 24:25Speaker 1: I would like a little bit more of a very
- 24:28Speaker 1: specific this is the history between the two of them,
- 24:32Speaker 1: or there was some insult earlier that he is still
- 24:35Speaker 1: sore over, or you know, just just something a little
- 24:39Speaker 1: bit more specific that would make this whole thing hang
- 24:44Speaker 1: together a bit more. Ah, what's the word? I want
- 24:50Speaker 1: that it would be a little bit clearer. Otherwise it
- 24:55Speaker 1: just sort of feels convenient for the plot, even with
- 25:01Speaker 1: a character written into everything who is urging him to
- 25:05Speaker 1: get it over with and kill them. Even so, it
- 25:08Speaker 1: still does feel very convenient. So just wanted to address
- 25:13Speaker 1: that and what happens, and because I keep getting sort
- 25:20Speaker 1: of sidetracked regarding Judge. But as he realizes that he
- 25:25Speaker 1: is being betrayed, he really is kind of losing his shit,
- 25:32Speaker 1: and he starts yelling at big Mom, like how could
- 25:36Speaker 1: you do this? Answer me? And obviously she is she
- 25:43Speaker 1: is busy, she is busy having a total breakdown and
- 25:47Speaker 1: is not here for any sort of chat right now.
- 25:51Speaker 1: So he is not getting the answers that he would
- 25:54Speaker 1: want and will not be getting them. There's nothing she
- 25:58Speaker 1: could say that would be adequate for him anyway. And
- 26:01Speaker 1: he keeps saying, how I've worked my whole life to
- 26:05Speaker 1: make Germa double six what it is? I like, how
- 26:09Speaker 1: could you do this? Honor amongst thieves, etc. Et cetera
- 26:12Speaker 1: kind of vibes, and eventually everybody around them begins to
- 26:19Speaker 1: mock him for crying, and he says something about how
- 26:24Speaker 1: if I had just been able to wear my raid suit,
- 26:26Speaker 1: we'd be the ones laughing at you right now. And
- 26:29Speaker 1: I'm like, yeah, well that's why they took it like
- 26:35Speaker 1: he just he says something. It's it's anytime somebody is like,
- 26:40Speaker 1: if only such and such, then such and such, and
- 26:42Speaker 1: I'm always like, that is the most absolutely useless thought
- 26:46Speaker 1: exercise most of the time, every now and then, every
- 26:50Speaker 1: very now and then, that there is a sort of
- 26:53Speaker 1: well if only this, then that, and perhaps we can
- 26:57Speaker 1: still make that happen. You know, you can find it
- 26:59Speaker 1: a point where thinking that way might actually ultimately be
- 27:03Speaker 1: sort of helpful, But for the most part it's just
- 27:07Speaker 1: a waste of time and energy and everybody's attention. And
- 27:13Speaker 1: there's a really funny clip from some like British morning show.
- 27:18Speaker 1: It's the equivalent of like Good Morning America looked like
- 27:21Speaker 1: where a chef came on and he made this lovely
- 27:24Speaker 1: like sauce with pasta and they taste it, and one
- 27:28Speaker 1: of the hosts says, if you just had a bit
- 27:31Speaker 1: of bacon in that, it would be like a carbonara.
- 27:35Speaker 1: And the chef looks at this woman and says, yeah,
- 27:38Speaker 1: and if my mother, my grandmother had wheels, she'd be
- 27:41Speaker 1: a bike. What's your point? And her and the other
- 27:46Speaker 1: host just like double over laughing, because, like, I think
- 27:50Speaker 1: they realized fair enough that the inanity of that comment
- 27:53Speaker 1: deserved to be called out. But that was sort of
- 27:55Speaker 1: how I felt with this, was just sort of why
- 27:57Speaker 1: what do you why? Yeah, yeah, this wouldn't happen had
- 28:01Speaker 1: you been armed, which is why they disarmed. You shut up.
- 28:05Speaker 1: And also the other thing that's happening here is that
- 28:09Speaker 1: his sons are not reacting at all the way that
- 28:15Speaker 1: he wants them to react. They are simply they are
- 28:22Speaker 1: accepting what is going on with the kind of equanimity
- 28:32Speaker 1: of people who either do not fully understand the consequences
- 28:38Speaker 1: of what is happening or who do not give a
- 28:43Speaker 1: shit about the consequences. They understand them, but they don't care.
- 28:48Speaker 1: And it leads to this interesting thing with you know,
- 28:52Speaker 1: Sonji's sister is watching this being because her father is bewildered.
- 28:58Speaker 1: He's looking at his sons, who are are actually kind
- 29:01Speaker 1: of laughing, and they're going, Wow, we really are just
- 29:06Speaker 1: sitting ducks. We let them Luris in here without weapons.
- 29:12Speaker 1: That was a pretty solid setup. I can't believe that
- 29:15Speaker 1: we fell for that. But they really got us, didn't they.
- 29:19Speaker 1: And there's this sort of distance to the way they're
- 29:21Speaker 1: talking about it, as if they were watching a TV
- 29:24Speaker 1: show and commenting on like this trap being sprung on
- 29:29Speaker 1: other characters, you know, and their father's looking at them
- 29:33Speaker 1: and actually says something like, what is wrong with you?
- 29:37Speaker 1: And I'm like, what do you mean? What is wrong? Oh, sir?
- 29:41Speaker 1: You built them like this? What are you? And then
- 29:46Speaker 1: when we are with like we're in Sanji's sister's head
- 29:49Speaker 1: because she doesn't say this out loud despite what her
- 29:54Speaker 1: audio says, because her audio says something like, I hate
- 29:58Speaker 1: to say it, father, but you made them like this.
- 30:02Speaker 1: And I found it kind of funny because she's saying
- 30:04Speaker 1: I hate to say it, but she's not saying it.
- 30:07Speaker 1: This is all in her head and she's just you know,
- 30:10Speaker 1: reflecting on this, but not actually telling him to his face, Hey,
- 30:15Speaker 1: this is your fault. Actually, I don't know why you're surprised,
- 30:21Speaker 1: And it just was really really funny to me that
- 30:26Speaker 1: he is genuinely baffled at their behavior and their reaction.
- 30:32Speaker 1: It's just, I mean, I really don't know what kind
- 30:39Speaker 1: of disconnect you have from your own creation that you
- 30:42Speaker 1: watch them kill people and have no reaction, and you
- 30:46Speaker 1: watch them beat the shit out of one another and
- 30:48Speaker 1: bully their little brother, and it never occurs to you
- 30:53Speaker 1: ever that this could bounce back at you. Of course
- 30:56Speaker 1: it doesn't, because this is a leopards aren't supposed to
- 30:59Speaker 1: eat my face situation. So that's you know, all of
- 31:08Speaker 1: this is going on, and his sister is sort of
- 31:12Speaker 1: like dispassionately watching as the trap closes in and still
- 31:19Speaker 1: is thinking the thing that she was before, of like
- 31:21Speaker 1: this the world's better off and they got us fair
- 31:25Speaker 1: and square, and oh well, just sort of allowing this
- 31:29Speaker 1: to happen and not really on any level trying to
- 31:33Speaker 1: resist what's going on here. But then she sees Sanjy
- 31:40Speaker 1: coming back for them, and I'm kind of jumping ahead
- 31:42Speaker 1: here because there's a whole thing with Sonji and putting.
- 31:45Speaker 1: I will double back and talk about that. But when
- 31:48Speaker 1: she sees Sanji coming towards them, she has a moment
- 31:52Speaker 1: of just, oh, I really underestimated you. I thought for
- 31:58Speaker 1: sure that you would just let us sink after everything
- 32:03Speaker 1: that we've done to you and the way that you've
- 32:05Speaker 1: been treated. I was so sure. And you have proven
- 32:10Speaker 1: that at least one person in our family is decent
- 32:15Speaker 1: and has a conscience, and she's actually genuinely moved by it,
- 32:20Speaker 1: it seems like, which I liked. I thought that was
- 32:22Speaker 1: sort of sweet, just because it would be understandable if
- 32:31Speaker 1: her only reaction was sort of like, ah, dude, I
- 32:35Speaker 1: told you to get out of here, what are you doing?
- 32:37Speaker 1: But she's not. She's like, I don't think this is
- 32:40Speaker 1: a good idea. But part of why I'm willing to
- 32:44Speaker 1: accept all of this is just a fatalistic acceptance that
- 32:48Speaker 1: our whole family is garbage and you're proving me wrong.
- 32:52Speaker 1: And I needed that. I needed that to not really
- 32:56Speaker 1: be fully true, and I liked it. I just thought
- 32:59Speaker 1: that was like a nice moment. I feel bad for her,
- 33:04Speaker 1: like in a very particular kind of way, where it's
- 33:09Speaker 1: more I don't feel bad for her, like she doesn't
- 33:15Speaker 1: deserve any of this, because I wouldn't go so far
- 33:19Speaker 1: as to say that I don't think she deserves it
- 33:23Speaker 1: obviously as much as the rest of her family, and
- 33:26Speaker 1: I feel like that's a fair statement, you know, But
- 33:31Speaker 1: there there is the possibility that maybe there's more that
- 33:37Speaker 1: she could have done at other points in her life.
- 33:39Speaker 1: I don't know, but the way that she's sort of
- 33:44Speaker 1: beaten down by everything and has this real belief in
- 33:50Speaker 1: her that the world's better off without us, and that
- 33:56Speaker 1: you know, we just have brought so much pain on
- 33:59Speaker 1: so many people and would continue to do so that
- 34:03Speaker 1: it's it's just not a great loss if they succeed.
- 34:09Speaker 1: That's a pretty dire point of view to have, you know,
- 34:15Speaker 1: And it's genuinely sad. It's a bummer. So I want
- 34:22Speaker 1: Sanji to rescue her. Like, just to be clear, I
- 34:28Speaker 1: am not over here saying that she doesn't deserve to
- 34:32Speaker 1: be rescued or that, Like, it's just I have very
- 34:39Speaker 1: mixed feelings about her, because there's a sense of her
- 34:43Speaker 1: sort of throwing her hands up regarding the whole thing
- 34:47Speaker 1: and just being like, well, I guess there's nothing to
- 34:51Speaker 1: be done and we're all terrible, And a part of
- 34:55Speaker 1: me feels like that's a bit to It's almost like
- 35:00Speaker 1: her abdicating any responsibility in a way that I think
- 35:03Speaker 1: is probably not completely true or accurate. It's just easy
- 35:13Speaker 1: to be like, well, I could take a stand, but
- 35:17Speaker 1: that would result in a type of suffering that I'm
- 35:20Speaker 1: not interested in. And so there's somebody who is going
- 35:23Speaker 1: to take my whole family out and I don't have
- 35:26Speaker 1: the courage to do it myself, but I will let
- 35:29Speaker 1: it happen. That I'm sort of like, well, like, are
- 35:34Speaker 1: you a coward? Then? Is that really what it comes
- 35:37Speaker 1: down to here? But uh, I also recognize that, like, yeah,
- 35:42Speaker 1: maybe maybe she's a coward. Like it happens. We're not
- 35:47Speaker 1: all fucking heroes, and that's okay too. I don't know.
- 35:50Speaker 1: I'm I go back and forth a lot in my
- 35:53Speaker 1: head about her. I find her very interesting and I
- 35:56Speaker 1: wouldn't mind spending more time with her just to like
- 36:01Speaker 1: get a better sense of what her personality is like
- 36:06Speaker 1: outside of these very extreme situations, you know what I'm saying.
- 36:12Speaker 1: So anyway, I'm gonna double back here and talk about
- 36:19Speaker 1: Sanji and Pudding, because there's only a very little that's
- 36:22Speaker 1: going on with him, really, and the main thing is
- 36:25Speaker 1: that he is running off, he's got putting in his arms.
- 36:32Speaker 1: He is telling her, we're gonna get someplace safe where
- 36:37Speaker 1: they can't reach us, and you know, we just had
- 36:40Speaker 1: this moment where it seemed like she was only partially
- 36:46Speaker 1: willing really to believe that he wasn't sickened by her
- 36:53Speaker 1: third eye, and when he like insists that he doesn't care,
- 36:57Speaker 1: she's almost yelling at him, but she also collapses and
- 37:02Speaker 1: doesn't seem to really like have it in her to
- 37:05Speaker 1: argue the point any further, because she really begins to
- 37:08Speaker 1: pop off. But now now that they're running, it's sort
- 37:15Speaker 1: of like she has the chance to mentally regroup. So
- 37:21Speaker 1: she's being carried by Sanji and he says, we're going
- 37:24Speaker 1: to go somewhere safe, and she looks up and gets
- 37:30Speaker 1: this expression on her face. She just, you know, her
- 37:33Speaker 1: brows furrow and she frowns, and all of a sudden,
- 37:37Speaker 1: she just pulls a gun and shoots him, and he dodges,
- 37:42Speaker 1: and he keeps dodging because this bitch is pulling the trigger.
- 37:46Speaker 1: She is going for it, and he's having to matrix
- 37:49Speaker 1: the shit out of this while attempting to convince her
- 37:54Speaker 1: to stop, and she's trying to lean into this whole
- 38:02Speaker 1: villain thing as she's shooting, and she's saying, this is
- 38:04Speaker 1: who I really am. Are you surprised or maybe disappointed?
- 38:10Speaker 1: And gets a kind of weirdly satisfied expression on her
- 38:17Speaker 1: face when she says maybe disappointed, And there's just a
- 38:22Speaker 1: sense of like, if you were disappointed, that would be
- 38:26Speaker 1: an emotion. I would understand that. I'm familiar with that
- 38:30Speaker 1: I've seen before, and so I would know how to
- 38:34Speaker 1: cope with that, you know. But that's not actually what
- 38:41Speaker 1: he's He actually seems to care about her on some level.
- 38:47Speaker 1: And I don't know if it's like a real love
- 38:53Speaker 1: or if it's simply that he kind of saw through
- 38:56Speaker 1: her situation and could tell what it was that she
- 39:00Speaker 1: had likely gone through if he just like put two
- 39:03Speaker 1: and two together. But he dodges all of these shots,
- 39:11Speaker 1: and he does not hold it against her that she
- 39:14Speaker 1: tried to shoot him. He just like she says something
- 39:20Speaker 1: about how easy it is to deceive men like him,
- 39:26Speaker 1: and that she's done it a bunch of times and
- 39:29Speaker 1: it's so easy that it's like embarrassing, and he says, yeah,
- 39:37Speaker 1: but I am not the only one you were deceiving,
- 39:44Speaker 1: am I? And she gets this look on her face
- 39:48Speaker 1: and just like, what do you mean? And we see
- 39:54Speaker 1: in the flashback again all of the times that she
- 39:57Speaker 1: was being bullied, But there's not really an explicit explanation
- 40:07Speaker 1: for what he's saying. It's more like we are meant
- 40:12Speaker 1: to infer. I guess either that she's been lying to
- 40:17Speaker 1: herself about how much this hurts and trying to pretend
- 40:20Speaker 1: it doesn't by because like this is a thing that
- 40:24Speaker 1: we often do as a defense mechanism, where like, Okay,
- 40:27Speaker 1: well somebody you know, x y Z is they're clearly
- 40:30Speaker 1: going to hurt me in some way, and so I'll
- 40:33Speaker 1: just get out in front of it, and I will
- 40:35Speaker 1: make it so that they can't hurt me because I'll
- 40:37Speaker 1: hurt them first, or I will hurt myself first so
- 40:42Speaker 1: that they can't Like whatever they do, the sting won't
- 40:46Speaker 1: be there anymore because I beat them to the punch.
- 40:48Speaker 1: You know. I don't know if it's supposed to be
- 40:52Speaker 1: that like you're lying to yourself about how hardened you
- 40:57Speaker 1: are and like what a bad person you are, or
- 41:00Speaker 1: if it's more you're lying to yourself about the fact
- 41:02Speaker 1: that like you're really part of this family when actually
- 41:06Speaker 1: they never accepted you, and they were never going to
- 41:09Speaker 1: and even though you think that doing this is going
- 41:12Speaker 1: to result in being a real part of things, it's
- 41:17Speaker 1: never going to happen, you know, I do not It
- 41:22Speaker 1: could be any of those. I don't know if it's
- 41:26Speaker 1: actually like really meant to be too specific, but I
- 41:35Speaker 1: think it's probably just you're out here trying to act
- 41:39Speaker 1: like you're just this like monstrous killer and you're not,
- 41:43Speaker 1: and you know you're not, but you feel like that's
- 41:46Speaker 1: what you have to be because everybody around you has
- 41:49Speaker 1: made you feel like a complete freak, you know. So anyway,
- 41:54Speaker 1: I just kind of like this moment, even though I
- 41:55Speaker 1: don't really know what it means yet. And like I said,
- 41:59Speaker 1: there's just a sense of like Sonji does care about
- 42:03Speaker 1: her on some level, but I'm not really sure how
- 42:06Speaker 1: much that's like a real romantic thing and how much
- 42:10Speaker 1: is just him sympathizing with her because you know, Sonji
- 42:15Speaker 1: was the freak in his own family. Sonji was the
- 42:18Speaker 1: one that was supposed to be a certain way and
- 42:22Speaker 1: just he never exemplified that and so they disowned him.
- 42:27Speaker 1: And it's almost like watching putting, we get a look
- 42:32Speaker 1: at what it would have been like if Sonji had
- 42:35Speaker 1: tried to fake being more like his brothers, you know
- 42:40Speaker 1: what I mean, because there's no I kind of find
- 42:44Speaker 1: it really admirable if you stop and think about it.
- 42:47Speaker 1: There's no sense within Sanji that he attempted to hide
- 42:53Speaker 1: the way that he felt, or his sensitivity or his
- 42:56Speaker 1: you know. And there are plenty of people who would
- 42:59Speaker 1: they would attempts to just cover up the fact that
- 43:01Speaker 1: they have feelings by, if anything, being even more brutal
- 43:07Speaker 1: than their brothers out doing them in that, and Sanji
- 43:12Speaker 1: just never seemed to even consider it. He is who
- 43:16Speaker 1: he is, and he was just very real and honest
- 43:19Speaker 1: about that. And there's a sort of I won't say
- 43:26Speaker 1: there's like more strength in that, because I think there's
- 43:31Speaker 1: there would be more strength in that if he were
- 43:33Speaker 1: old enough to make the choice. But it seems like
- 43:36Speaker 1: he was so young and so like, you know, just
- 43:41Speaker 1: naive that he didn't even know that he could fake it.
- 43:46Speaker 1: He didn't realize that that was even like a possible
- 43:48Speaker 1: option for him. But I think that might be part
- 43:53Speaker 1: of what's going on here with the way that he's
- 43:55Speaker 1: seeing Putting is just realizing like therefore there but for
- 43:59Speaker 1: the great of God go eyes. I think what the
- 44:02Speaker 1: saying is essentially just like that could have been me
- 44:06Speaker 1: so easily if like a few different things, a few
- 44:10Speaker 1: twists of fate had just gone a slightly different way.
- 44:14Speaker 1: I can't judge them because I could extremely easily have
- 44:18Speaker 1: wound up in the exact same situation. And I you know,
- 44:24Speaker 1: if the wedding did actually happen, if they're actually married now,
- 44:28Speaker 1: oh sorry, I hit my mic there. If they're actually
- 44:31Speaker 1: married now, I kind of like it. I would be
- 44:35Speaker 1: very interested to see like how all this gets dealt with.
- 44:41Speaker 1: I'm not mad if they're not or if you know,
- 44:44Speaker 1: they decide that it's like not official or whatever. But uh,
- 44:48Speaker 1: the idea of maybe there being some kind of redemption
- 44:55Speaker 1: for putting, I'm very much here for it. I would
- 44:59Speaker 1: be on board for that storyline. So Florian says, Sanji
- 45:08Speaker 1: is giving me gay boy where everyone knew the moment
- 45:11Speaker 1: he came out the womb. Oh I didn't think about that, Florian,
- 45:15Speaker 1: But yeah, I definitely see what you're saying. It's funny
- 45:19Speaker 1: because like he is such a horn dog that but
- 45:23Speaker 1: it almost feels like overcompensating in a way by the
- 45:25Speaker 1: writer and Seraphim says, my read is that the whole cold,
- 45:30Speaker 1: manipulative murderer thing is a mask she put on and
- 45:33Speaker 1: convinced herself was the real her. Okay, yeah, that's pretty
- 45:36Speaker 1: much where I landed, But I wasn't sure if it
- 45:38Speaker 1: was also just regarding lying to her family like or
- 45:42Speaker 1: lying to herself about being able to be part of
- 45:44Speaker 1: the family, or which I guess it kind of amounts
- 45:47Speaker 1: to the same thing really, So yeah, the heat, Like
- 45:54Speaker 1: I said, he winds up eventually like turning around and
- 45:58Speaker 1: going back to help his family, and I am looking
- 46:04Speaker 1: forward to seeing how that works out, because personally I
- 46:09Speaker 1: am I am very on the fence. I'm proud of
- 46:15Speaker 1: him for going back toward his family. I want this
- 46:20Speaker 1: on a like to work in a way, but I
- 46:24Speaker 1: also don't think his family is particularly worth saving. So
- 46:29Speaker 1: I just I don't know. It's like, you get the
- 46:35Speaker 1: points for going back, and then if they all die anyway,
- 46:40Speaker 1: like I also get the relief of them no longer
- 46:43Speaker 1: being in the world. I don't see Sanji's family respecting
- 46:49Speaker 1: him more or feeling like they owe him for coming
- 46:53Speaker 1: back and rescuing them. I just don't feel like they
- 46:57Speaker 1: are those types of people. They don't that kind of
- 47:04Speaker 1: like gratitude and feeling of obligation is a sense that
- 47:11Speaker 1: only a certain type of person would really have. And
- 47:16Speaker 1: his whole family other than his sister, are fucking psychopathic,
- 47:20Speaker 1: you know. So I don't I I like the idea of, oh, well,
- 47:26Speaker 1: he goes back and maybe this like repairs their relationship.
- 47:30Speaker 1: I don't see it, and like, why would you want
- 47:32Speaker 1: to repair your relationship with people like this? Anyway? It's
- 47:36Speaker 1: just not I'm I want him to go back. I
- 47:41Speaker 1: want this to be who he is. But do I
- 47:44Speaker 1: care if they actually all die? Not really? You know,
- 47:49Speaker 1: his sister even like, I'm good either way, She's the
- 47:54Speaker 1: only one that I'm really like. Okay, if she lives,
- 47:58Speaker 1: that's fine. The rest of them, if they live, I'm
- 48:01Speaker 1: a little disappointed, to be honest. So I guess we'll
- 48:06Speaker 1: just have to wait and see. So okay, let's let's
- 48:10Speaker 1: finally talk about the other fights that are happening. There
- 48:13Speaker 1: is so much going on, because like, I'm almost out
- 48:17Speaker 1: of time here and I haven't even touched on this
- 48:20Speaker 1: weird genie guy that we're we're dealing with here, because
- 48:25Speaker 1: we get this, like other Baddie that it's a really
- 48:31Speaker 1: bizarre I don't know if this dude's like, if it's
- 48:38Speaker 1: two dudes, or if it's the one, because he like
- 48:41Speaker 1: releases the genie it seems from within himself, and so
- 48:49Speaker 1: I am confused about exactly how all this works. I'm
- 48:55Speaker 1: trying to jump to the spot where this happens, but uh,
- 48:58Speaker 1: what do you call it? Crunchy Roll is being very difficult,
- 49:03Speaker 1: so he like has this weird motion that he does
- 49:09Speaker 1: where he like rubs himself like he's the magic lamp.
- 49:14Speaker 1: And Genie comes out and is going after Sangy and
- 49:22Speaker 1: he's blue. He's got pink hair. And when I say blue,
- 49:27Speaker 1: you know, the genie in Aladdin is blue, And so
- 49:29Speaker 1: I feel like if I say the Genie's blue, you're
- 49:32Speaker 1: gonna picture that automatically, which would be understandable. But the
- 49:35Speaker 1: blue that this genie is is a much darker like
- 49:40Speaker 1: navy blue. And I don't know why, but I thought
- 49:43Speaker 1: that was such a cool look, especially paired with the
- 49:46Speaker 1: very pale pink hair and accessories and pudding. She's like
- 49:56Speaker 1: in the middle of this as this guy is sending
- 49:59Speaker 1: the Genie to attack Sanji, and she runs up to
- 50:04Speaker 1: what is his name, Daifuku, I think, and is trying
- 50:08Speaker 1: to tell him to stop, and he tells her, you
- 50:11Speaker 1: had your chance to kill Soanji, and you completely blew it.
- 50:17Speaker 1: And I think it's sort of interesting the way that
- 50:22Speaker 1: it looks from afar. If you are observing this whole thing,
- 50:29Speaker 1: it really does look as if she attempted to kill
- 50:37Speaker 1: Sanji in good faith. It doesn't look like she was
- 50:43Speaker 1: just going through the motions and covering her own ass.
- 50:51Speaker 1: If I were watching what happened between her and Sanji,
- 50:56Speaker 1: I would believe that she were really trying to kill him.
- 50:59Speaker 1: So even though she fucked up and didn't actually do
- 51:03Speaker 1: the job, I wonder, if things went a certain way,
- 51:08Speaker 1: if she'd be convincing enough that she could get a
- 51:11Speaker 1: second chance from her family, because it sort of feels
- 51:16Speaker 1: like that was a good enough attempt. But it may
- 51:23Speaker 1: just be the fact that she failed is simply enough
- 51:27Speaker 1: of a disgrace. I can't tell, because like, so many
- 51:32Speaker 1: people in this family are failing at trying to kill
- 51:35Speaker 1: everybody that they're trying to kill, So, like, how much
- 51:39Speaker 1: can you afford to hold people to a certain standard
- 51:41Speaker 1: when everybody is not meeting that standard? I don't know anyway,
- 51:47Speaker 1: I'm getting sidetracked here with this cool genie who when
- 51:51Speaker 1: he like he's swooping around and leaves this sort of
- 51:56Speaker 1: trail behind him that almost looks like water or something.
- 52:00Speaker 1: It's really odd, and is firing on Sanji. It almost
- 52:08Speaker 1: looks like flame. It's hard for me to fully tell
- 52:11Speaker 1: exactly what it is that he's working with, but yeah,
- 52:17Speaker 1: so suffice to say, Sanji winds up beating this guy
- 52:21Speaker 1: and then like going back toward his own family. I
- 52:25Speaker 1: just wanted to mention the genie because I think it's cool.
- 52:28Speaker 1: And then we have to go over to Lufy and Beggie.
- 52:32Speaker 1: Who BEGGI is trying to like, you know, straddle this
- 52:39Speaker 1: line where he is both working with Loofy but making
- 52:44Speaker 1: it look like he is making a good faith attempt
- 52:47Speaker 1: to stop Loofy. And because like, despite the fact that
- 52:52Speaker 1: at this point I thought we all knew by now
- 52:56Speaker 1: that he was a traitor, evidently we don't yet. So
- 53:02Speaker 1: if we get to the point finally where he is
- 53:05Speaker 1: just flat out like firing on his own people and
- 53:08Speaker 1: they're going, oh, you backstabber, you know, like within these episodes,
- 53:12Speaker 1: we do get there, but I thought we were there
- 53:15Speaker 1: already and it turns out not, so he's still trying
- 53:18Speaker 1: to sort of cover his ass right here. And we
- 53:25Speaker 1: have the the like whole thing with Jimbe as well,
- 53:30Speaker 1: who is like the one who gave them this tip
- 53:33Speaker 1: about how big Mom would react and now she's not
- 53:38Speaker 1: reacting that way, and so Jimbe is sort of like, oh, God, like,
- 53:42Speaker 1: what do I do? I guess I just have to
- 53:44Speaker 1: buy time until she does have the reaction I predicted
- 53:48Speaker 1: she'd have, because he seems to be to be keeping
- 53:52Speaker 1: the faith that she will eventually scream and have her
- 53:56Speaker 1: big breakdown. It's just not happened yet. But uh, overall,
- 54:03Speaker 1: the whole thing with Lufy comes down to the conversation
- 54:08Speaker 1: with him and Brooke, where Brooke is like, you need
- 54:11Speaker 1: to be careful, Lufy, because she has just not fully
- 54:15Speaker 1: grasped what's happened to her mother's portrait. So if we
- 54:20Speaker 1: want her to completely break down the way that we predicted,
- 54:24Speaker 1: we're going to have to shove it in her face
- 54:26Speaker 1: again and get her to see. And so Lufy takes
- 54:30Speaker 1: it upon himself. The one part of this that I
- 54:40Speaker 1: didn't talk about last time, and I have my eye
- 54:44Speaker 1: on a little bit now and I'll talk about this
- 54:46Speaker 1: time is what's going on with Caesar clown. And I
- 54:50Speaker 1: don't remember if I mentioned it last time. I don't
- 54:52Speaker 1: think I did. But Caesar has his own mission that
- 54:57Speaker 1: he has been sent on, and we have the flashbacks
- 55:02Speaker 1: in this episode as well. But it was a couple
- 55:05Speaker 1: episodes ago where you know, Chopper and Nami are walking
- 55:10Speaker 1: away with Carrot and they're yelling over their shoulder that
- 55:16Speaker 1: Caesar better not screw this up. I think it's Nam
- 55:20Speaker 1: that says like, don't screw it up, loser, and it's Chopper.
- 55:26Speaker 1: After Karrot says is he really that bad? Chopper says
- 55:29Speaker 1: something like yeah, he's the worst. And I actually kind
- 55:34Speaker 1: of felt for him in that moment and had a
- 55:37Speaker 1: second of thinking, oh, is he going to like betray
- 55:40Speaker 1: them because he feels like he's being mistreated really badly,
- 55:44Speaker 1: and so he's just gonna be salty and decide to
- 55:49Speaker 1: throw the match, so to speak, you know what I mean.
- 55:54Speaker 1: But it doesn't seem like that's the way it's going
- 55:58Speaker 1: to go. If they have his heart, BEGGI has his heart,
- 56:02Speaker 1: so that appears to be quite enough motivation to keep
- 56:07Speaker 1: Caesar on the straight and narrow at least four. Now,
- 56:11Speaker 1: if there were a point where he gets his own
- 56:13Speaker 1: heart back, I could see him wanting to give them
- 56:16Speaker 1: all the finger. But I don't think Big Mom would
- 56:19Speaker 1: treat him better exactly. So that does not mean that
- 56:23Speaker 1: he wouldn't go ahead and try and give him the
- 56:25Speaker 1: finger anyway, because he doesn't strike me as somebody who
- 56:27Speaker 1: like particularly is far seeing regarding his behavior. But just
- 56:34Speaker 1: to say that, like.
- 56:35Speaker 2: I I was worried about his reliability, not in terms
- 56:45Speaker 2: of the way the rest of the straw hat seemed
- 56:47Speaker 2: to be where they're kind of he is just such
- 56:51Speaker 2: a screw up.
- 56:52Speaker 1: I was thinking of it more like if he were
- 56:55Speaker 1: to fuck them, it would be on purpose, that would
- 56:57Speaker 1: not be an accident. And also the fact that it's
- 57:02Speaker 1: him alone with Brulai, and Brulay could like she has
- 57:08Speaker 1: many many vested interests in fucking with them. So if
- 57:14Speaker 1: he and Bruli decided to like put their heads together here,
- 57:20Speaker 1: if it weren't for the fact that Beggie has his heart,
- 57:23Speaker 1: I would be genuinely concerned. At this point. I am
- 57:29Speaker 1: not like really thinking that anything is going to happen here,
- 57:34Speaker 1: but I would be lying if I said that I
- 57:37Speaker 1: was at ease with this situation. I'm not. This feels
- 57:41Speaker 1: like a bit of a powder keg that could go
- 57:45Speaker 1: either way at this point. So I just wanted to
- 57:49Speaker 1: mention that because, like, I don't even know if we
- 57:52Speaker 1: know exactly what his plan is, what his part of
- 57:57Speaker 1: the plan is, I mean, like what it is that
- 57:59Speaker 1: he has been a sign to do. But he's got Brulat,
- 58:02Speaker 1: he's charting her along with him, and she is yelling
- 58:05Speaker 1: not to use her powers anymore because by the time
- 58:08Speaker 1: all of this like comes to light, she is going
- 58:11Speaker 1: to be in so much trouble. So she's really really
- 58:15Speaker 1: agitated right now, and you know, sucks to suck. Really,
- 58:19Speaker 1: maybe you shouldn't have been so easy to trick and
- 58:24Speaker 1: take down. That sounds like a U problem, skill issue.
- 58:28Speaker 1: What can you do? So I'm yeah, I like Florian
- 58:36Speaker 1: said that these were slow episodes, but I actually I
- 58:39Speaker 1: didn't think so these were pretty solid. We didn't have
- 58:42Speaker 1: a ton of like repeat footage, we didn't have tons
- 58:44Speaker 1: of going back to flashbacks that we've seen a million times,
- 58:48Speaker 1: Like this was pretty much plot for the whole thing.
- 58:54Speaker 1: So you know, I feel like that's pretty good. All right, everybody, Well,
- 58:59Speaker 1: I'm gonna wrap this up, but I want to thank
- 59:02Speaker 1: you all so much for listening to the coverage. I
- 59:06Speaker 1: really hope that you are continuing to enjoy it. Thank
- 59:09Speaker 1: you again to Florian for commissioning this one. And just
- 59:14Speaker 1: again reminder that like in the new Year, I will
- 59:16Speaker 1: be doing these lives on Patreon and not on crowdcast anymore.
- 59:22Speaker 1: And if you are somebody who did do a Wanna
- 59:28Speaker 1: Be episode with me and you want a copy of
- 59:30Speaker 1: it before I leave Crowdcast forever, get in touch with
- 59:34Speaker 1: me and let me know and I will download it
- 59:36Speaker 1: and will I think I can email you a link
- 59:39Speaker 1: to the file. I can't email you the file directly
- 59:41Speaker 1: because it's a pretty big file, these recordings, but I
- 59:45Speaker 1: can put it on my Google Drive and email it
- 59:47Speaker 1: to you or dropbox or something. So just get in touch,
- 59:51Speaker 1: let me know. And yeah, I really appreciate everybody and
- 59:57Speaker 1: your support throughout these years. It's been along time and
- 1:00:00Speaker 1: we still have a lot to get through. So all right, friends,
- 1:00:04Speaker 1: until next time to the Loo, motherfuckers. That was an
