Transcript
- 0:00Speaker 1: Exciting.
- 0:00Speaker 2: I have to say I was a little bit taken
- 0:04Speaker 2: them up, like, whoa, Okay, this is different when I
- 0:06Speaker 2: was reading your the press release and whatnot. So tell
- 0:10Speaker 2: me a bit about the band and yourselves and how
- 0:13Speaker 2: this comes to be, which is I am kept a
- 0:16Speaker 2: bit of a listen for your uniw release and it's
- 0:19Speaker 2: very very dad wrong, very guns and Roads is very classic.
- 0:22Speaker 1: It was done well.
- 0:24Speaker 3: Yeah, thank you. Yeah.
- 0:26Speaker 4: So basically, yeah, we are uh, heavily influenced by those bands.
- 0:31Speaker 4: You know, we grew up listening to bands like Guns
- 0:35Speaker 4: N' Roses, E c DC and Maiden and all these
- 0:39Speaker 4: you know, hard rock, heavy metal bands. So yeah, that
- 0:42Speaker 4: has definitely shaped our music. And you know so because
- 0:45Speaker 4: of that, yeah, you'll find quite that influence in our
- 0:49Speaker 4: music as well.
- 0:50Speaker 2: Yeah yeah, so I did know it was a thing.
- 0:53Speaker 2: The Indian hairvy metal rock scene. Is it thravel? Is
- 0:58Speaker 2: it you guys a niche product or what's it? What's
- 1:01Speaker 2: it like for yourselves? Give us the insight, because I'm
- 1:03Speaker 2: sure I'm not the only one.
- 1:05Speaker 4: Yeah, well, you can see it. In India it is
- 1:09Speaker 4: dominated by Bollywood. You know, Bollywood music. It's it's that
- 1:13Speaker 4: is the biggest industry.
- 1:14Speaker 3: In India.
- 1:15Speaker 4: But then, but then whatever little percentage of rock and
- 1:19Speaker 4: eavy metal listeners out there, it's still big because India
- 1:22Speaker 4: has a big population, right, so even that small percentage,
- 1:27Speaker 4: it's quite big, you know, which is quite evident when
- 1:30Speaker 4: you when there are like international rock bands or metal
- 1:35Speaker 4: bands coming into India to perform in big series like Bangalore, Mumbai, Deli,
- 1:40Speaker 4: and that is when you see like huge crowd, massive
- 1:44Speaker 4: crowd you know, who have actually come to enjoy the
- 1:46Speaker 4: show and actually sing along the songs and they know
- 1:49Speaker 4: the music and it has been there for a long
- 1:54Speaker 4: time as well.
- 1:56Speaker 2: Yeah, and so you guys have supported some pretty big
- 2:00Speaker 2: big names over the time.
- 2:02Speaker 1: Tell me a bit more about that.
- 2:05Speaker 4: Yeah, I mean we have been lucky enough to open for.
- 2:09Speaker 3: Bands like Guns and Ruses, Nazareth.
- 2:12Speaker 4: Skidrow, Wow, Mister Big Alt Bit and all these big
- 2:18Speaker 4: guns basically you know.
- 2:19Speaker 3: So yeah, honor, it's been a privilege.
- 2:22Speaker 4: And you know, like we have watched them and we
- 2:24Speaker 4: have listened to their music like as kids, you know,
- 2:28Speaker 4: while growing up, we grew up with their music. So
- 2:30Speaker 4: to be a bit left the field, yeah, to be
- 2:33Speaker 4: able to share the stage with them has been an
- 2:35Speaker 4: honor and Yeah, like a dream come true in a way,
- 2:39Speaker 4: you know.
- 2:39Speaker 1: For sure, for sure.
- 2:41Speaker 2: And so obviously, as you mentioned, you know, you've got
- 2:44Speaker 2: quite a decent following at home there in India because
- 2:46Speaker 2: of your population and popularity, which is always encouraging. What
- 2:50Speaker 2: about internationally, have you guys too it before or do
- 2:52Speaker 2: you sort of know what Evan base.
- 2:54Speaker 1: Is like outside of your home country?
- 2:57Speaker 4: Yeah, so it's since two thousand and one we have
- 3:01Speaker 4: been touring Europe actually being yeah, I think since two
- 3:05Speaker 4: thousand and one winter, you know, twenty one, twenty three,
- 3:09Speaker 4: So we have been consistently going, making sure to go
- 3:12Speaker 4: to Europe, like for summer festivals or winter festivals, and
- 3:17Speaker 4: we have kind of built our in a fan following
- 3:20Speaker 4: out there. You know, it's s it and otherwise it's
- 3:23Speaker 4: in Inda. Of course there's there and recently because of
- 3:28Speaker 4: our agt America America's Got Talent performance even you.
- 3:33Speaker 1: Went on America's Got Talented Decide.
- 3:34Speaker 3: Yeah, we played there.
- 3:36Speaker 1: Oh my god, how is that? Did you guys like?
- 3:39Speaker 3: Action? Oh? Yeah, we had a great experience.
- 3:41Speaker 4: It was a great experience, and yeah, quite we were
- 3:45Speaker 4: quite taken by surprise when they invited us Action. They
- 3:49Speaker 4: invited us for you know, performance there, and we were like, hey,
- 3:52Speaker 4: why not you know, it's a g T and.
- 3:53Speaker 1: That's cool, so you can playing invited to come along apply?
- 3:57Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 3:57Speaker 4: Yeah, so we didn't usually people audition and go in
- 4:00Speaker 4: our case, they actually invited invited us to play, which
- 4:03Speaker 4: was quite cool.
- 4:04Speaker 1: You know, it's pretty cool.
- 4:05Speaker 2: It's also that there's things and that helped us a
- 4:09Speaker 2: lot and kind.
- 4:10Speaker 1: Of did you how far did you get through that process?
- 4:13Speaker 3: We went the quarter finals?
- 4:16Speaker 2: Wow, so you guys definitely would have doubt definitely and
- 4:20Speaker 2: when that so, but what you.
- 4:23Speaker 1: Did you guys do that?
- 4:25Speaker 3: Sorry I didn't know.
- 4:27Speaker 1: Yeah, how long ago was that that you did that?
- 4:29Speaker 3: Oh? This was last year? Actually last year?
- 4:31Speaker 1: Oh wow? So yeah, definitely last year.
- 4:34Speaker 4: And actually, in fact, Steel Panther was what was one
- 4:37Speaker 4: of the reasons why we did this because they also
- 4:40Speaker 4: went to.
- 4:42Speaker 3: Apparent, They also.
- 4:43Speaker 4: Went to America's Got Talent and even they yeah, even
- 4:47Speaker 4: they they to quarter finals and.
- 4:49Speaker 5: That kind of you yeah, kind of gave us this
- 4:54Speaker 5: encouragement to hey, you know what we can even we
- 4:56Speaker 5: could do something like this, you know, which is not
- 4:59Speaker 5: so heavy metal, but still you know, why not, right, Yeah.
- 5:02Speaker 2: It's it's kind of like you know, the European death
- 5:04Speaker 2: metal bands that you're compleat in Eurovision and things like.
- 5:08Speaker 3: That and something like that. You could see.
- 5:11Speaker 1: Yeah, and so how.
- 5:12Speaker 2: About Asia in Japan and places like that, because I
- 5:15Speaker 2: could have quite a big heavy metal following that day.
- 5:18Speaker 1: It's a lifestyle. I walk into it, you guys there
- 5:21Speaker 1: and got some mean.
- 5:23Speaker 3: Yeah we are and someone.
- 5:29Speaker 4: So basically, uh, it's I mean I watched a lot
- 5:33Speaker 4: of Japanese anime and you know I love Japanese. Yeah,
- 5:40Speaker 4: so basically, not just that we have known that. We
- 5:44Speaker 4: have known that Japan has a big rock culture, you know, yeah,
- 5:47Speaker 4: ever since the eighties. I think, you know, my like
- 5:51Speaker 4: guys like Martin Fiedman, Paul Gilbert, they are basically there,
- 5:57Speaker 4: you know, they have almost become Japanese I know. So
- 6:03Speaker 4: that's there, and yeah, it's been my like one of
- 6:07Speaker 4: my dreams to perform in Japan, and you know that's
- 6:09Speaker 4: the better. But now I think in wind country Asian countries.
- 6:13Speaker 4: We have performed in places like Thailand and Vietnam and
- 6:16Speaker 4: all these other things.
- 6:17Speaker 2: Getting they're quite you know, you go karaoke bars, you
- 6:20Speaker 2: see some guys and covers that.
- 6:22Speaker 1: Just nail it and they're.
- 6:23Speaker 3: Like really good, yeah, very good.
- 6:27Speaker 4: But then yeah, I think we need to store some
- 6:30Speaker 4: more you know in Southeast Asian countries and kind of yeah,
- 6:35Speaker 4: some more of our fani bies there, so some work
- 6:38Speaker 4: needs to be done there still.
- 6:40Speaker 2: And speaking to him, you are guys that are coming
- 6:42Speaker 2: out to Australia as well, I believe, are you guys
- 6:45Speaker 2: coming out to Australia as well as kind of your tour, Yeah,
- 6:51Speaker 2: that's happening later in the years.
- 6:53Speaker 4: Yeah, no, it's actually starting from this fifteenth, So we
- 6:57Speaker 4: are landing in.
- 6:58Speaker 1: Aust it's quite soon, quite so, yeah, quite soon.
- 7:00Speaker 4: Yeah, so fifteen we are landing after that will be
- 7:02Speaker 4: there for like around five to six shows there, and.
- 7:06Speaker 1: Yeah, and it's the first time you'll come down Under.
- 7:09Speaker 4: Yes, this is our first time actually has a bad
- 7:13Speaker 4: performing but even otherwise just in the tourists you could say.
- 7:19Speaker 2: And so we're about to you doing playing say about
- 7:22Speaker 2: five shows, so obviously Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, any few in between,
- 7:27Speaker 2: I imagine.
- 7:29Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, so all these the major cities that we
- 7:32Speaker 4: know of usually yeah, and one date in New Zealand.
- 7:37Speaker 2: So of course, yeah, yeah, New Zealand usually gets tagged
- 7:39Speaker 2: into the Australian tour, which isn't so thank you guys.
- 7:43Speaker 1: Most looking forward to when you come down under any plans.
- 7:46Speaker 3: To what's your plan? What's your plan when you go
- 7:50Speaker 3: to Australia?
- 7:51Speaker 5: Well, we have to see the beautiful place first, and yeah,
- 7:56Speaker 5: we are waiting to rock like the pubs there.
- 8:02Speaker 2: How culture is like we thrive on that. Speaking and
- 8:05Speaker 2: finished this interview, you know where I'm going to be
- 8:07Speaker 2: going it's yeah, so that's saying you don't have any plans.
- 8:14Speaker 2: It's going be a time that you can spend after
- 8:16Speaker 2: the tour or you're going to go back. Actually we
- 8:19Speaker 2: have a few dates in between.
- 8:21Speaker 4: We'll get to see the country and just check out
- 8:25Speaker 4: some places there and even fifteenth are landing and I
- 8:28Speaker 4: think the.
- 8:28Speaker 3: First show is on the eighteenth. I think nineteenth, So
- 8:31Speaker 3: nineteen is the first show.
- 8:33Speaker 4: Okay, so after landing we still have a couple of
- 8:35Speaker 4: these free you know, so well we will be exploring
- 8:39Speaker 4: the place you know for sure?
- 8:41Speaker 1: And where back to is your first show? Kickoff?
- 8:44Speaker 3: It's starting in Brisbane?
- 8:46Speaker 2: Okay, Okay, so that's am I stopping ground? Are you
- 8:49Speaker 2: playing on the Gold Course?
- 8:51Speaker 3: Sorry?
- 8:52Speaker 1: Which on the Gold courst you're playing there at all
- 8:55Speaker 1: or just.
- 8:57Speaker 3: Gold course, I'm not sure. I'm not really sure.
- 9:00Speaker 2: So it's just a bit south of Brisbane, okay, okay, okay.
- 9:06Speaker 3: Yeah, so basically Brisbane and Sydney Melbourne.
- 9:09Speaker 1: And what are you going to? Nice?
- 9:11Speaker 3: Because these are like these we are will be performing.
- 9:15Speaker 1: Oh good, good good, and we're about sating Brisbane. I
- 9:17Speaker 1: find you know the venue?
- 9:18Speaker 3: I can't remember all right now, I'm not really.
- 9:23Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, that's a great venue. You love that? So yeah,
- 9:30Speaker 1: and Brisbane's great, well, butt's what's the nice things to say?
- 9:32Speaker 2: It sunny. You gotta watch out for every thing. The
- 9:38Speaker 2: drop bands, you gotta watch.
- 9:38Speaker 3: Out for them. What what is that?
- 9:41Speaker 1: The drop bears? I have heard of them. No, no, no,
- 9:45Speaker 1: giggling everything will kill you when you come in here.
- 9:51Speaker 2: We're gonna also, it's funny to say injo it, but yeah,
- 9:55Speaker 2: that's what you guys going to. There's a lot of bands,
- 9:57Speaker 2: you know, if it's just not to particularly they get
- 10:01Speaker 2: left of the bill because it is in such a big.
- 10:03Speaker 1: Country and so far away. But that's that's good. They
- 10:06Speaker 1: are They brace and enjoy when bands don't forget the man.
- 10:11Speaker 2: Yeah, excellent, And so you got your new our new
- 10:14Speaker 2: single or is the new album that's just been released
- 10:16Speaker 2: and the same.
- 10:17Speaker 4: Yeah, a new album is releasing actually like it will
- 10:21Speaker 4: start with a couple of single releases, but then that
- 10:24Speaker 4: those songs would be a part of the album. Yeah,
- 10:27Speaker 4: which is like the entire production is ready. We're just
- 10:29Speaker 4: waiting for the final date to you know, the release dates,
- 10:34Speaker 4: you know. Yeah, that's the announcement that we're still waiting for.
- 10:38Speaker 4: On the ideas for music videos and stuff, and hopefully
- 10:42Speaker 4: hopefully we'll get to take a couple of shots in
- 10:44Speaker 4: Australia for.
- 10:46Speaker 2: Sure, because plenty of Yeah, you do your own video.
- 10:50Speaker 1: As I imagine. Yeah, and have you.
- 10:53Speaker 2: Got any that you've done previously or what's the how
- 10:57Speaker 2: do you kind of approach you with music videos?
- 10:58Speaker 1: What's the the consensus for sales? All works the best?
- 11:03Speaker 4: Uh? Yeah, I mean basically we just look, uh, depending
- 11:07Speaker 4: on the song, we kind of build sort an idea
- 11:09Speaker 4: and try to revolve everything around it.
- 11:12Speaker 3: But then yeah, of course it's sometimes.
- 11:14Speaker 4: It goes off script and you know, we land up
- 11:17Speaker 4: doing something else that year, you know.
- 11:21Speaker 1: Yeah, it's just.
- 11:25Speaker 2: For sure, for sure, I find that as often is
- 11:28Speaker 2: the way that sometimes you get the best end result
- 11:30Speaker 2: if it's not too strictly thick into whatever it may be.
- 11:34Speaker 1: But yeah, no, definitely.
- 11:36Speaker 2: I regon you can get some good footage of playing
- 11:38Speaker 2: live obviously, but some scenery as well around about. Do
- 11:41Speaker 2: a little compilation and throw it, give it to the
- 11:44Speaker 2: editor and mix it up. We all level five minutes
- 11:50Speaker 2: of fame. Yeah, and so has been as a whole.
- 11:54Speaker 2: I'm saying your drummer in the background, he's very quiet.
- 11:57Speaker 1: Ye, come on, cleasure.
- 12:01Speaker 2: I'm gonna say hello because I had my durance and
- 12:05Speaker 2: I'm very visually.
- 12:09Speaker 1: In my older age, but he doesn't look very Indian.
- 12:13Speaker 1: I'm curious. There's your drama. I need to know some more.
- 12:19Speaker 2: Okay, it was just from but yeah, you look like
- 12:24Speaker 2: and I was I'm just like it seemed.
- 12:30Speaker 1: So you guys, as I said, have been banned for
- 12:32Speaker 1: some time now.
- 12:34Speaker 2: Musical backgrounds and any other projects that you've taken on
- 12:37Speaker 2: or this has just been collectively what you've done for
- 12:40Speaker 2: the for the.
- 12:40Speaker 4: Time as a as a band, like we have most
- 12:45Speaker 4: have been doing, you know, work with c closely.
- 12:48Speaker 3: Yeah, but but yeah, Girish has kind of.
- 12:52Speaker 4: Done some projects with some legends like George Lynch, Jeff Pilson,
- 12:58Speaker 4: Chris Hadley has a band with Chris Haddler.
- 13:00Speaker 3: That's cool.
- 13:01Speaker 4: So after we were signed with Frontis, he has done
- 13:04Speaker 4: some projects with Evan Joel, Hawks Orstra and you know
- 13:08Speaker 4: these guys, so he's been kind of involved in some
- 13:11Speaker 4: other projects as well. But yeah, mainly we are all
- 13:14Speaker 4: mostly focused on the a TC.
- 13:16Speaker 1: So that's our and Garish does it? What is it?
- 13:19Speaker 1: Does it have a meaning behind it?
- 13:20Speaker 3: Or give This is the name of the our vocalist.
- 13:24Speaker 3: His name is Garish.
- 13:29Speaker 2: So you've got obviously your dramma and you're singer, guitar.
- 13:34Speaker 4: He's on the guitar, I'm on the bass, and Gearish
- 13:37Speaker 4: is the vocals.
- 13:41Speaker 3: Yes, basically this whole.
- 13:43Speaker 1: Great like cool, come on, it's get so much great.
- 13:47Speaker 4: But yeah, basically the sohol ideas that Garrish was actually
- 13:53Speaker 4: performing solo as Gearish unplugged used to do solo shows
- 13:58Speaker 4: and then the rest of the band and joined in
- 14:01Speaker 4: and he just added and the chronicles on the poster,
- 14:04Speaker 4: you know.
- 14:04Speaker 3: So that's how it became good.
- 14:07Speaker 4: Nice.
- 14:07Speaker 1: It's nice. That's got a good it's got a good
- 14:09Speaker 1: sound to it.
- 14:09Speaker 2: So yeah, well look, thank you so much for coming
- 14:12Speaker 2: and having a chat with us. Today and heavy ver
- 14:15Speaker 2: looking looking forward to seeing you guys hopefully baby live
- 14:19Speaker 2: my schedule and where you guys, because it's so busy,
- 14:22Speaker 2: Like I was double books, like right up till Christmas
- 14:24Speaker 2: and a bit of a brak and but it's just
- 14:28Speaker 2: like all, yeah, like there is just so much going
- 14:30Speaker 2: on with live music and you know, new albums and whatnot.
- 14:33Speaker 2: It's safe to say it's very thriving at the moment,
- 14:36Speaker 2: so and ourselves and yeah, but it just makes for
- 14:39Speaker 2: a very busy schedule.
- 14:40Speaker 1: The life lifestyles of the rock and roller. As I said,
- 14:43Speaker 1: lifestyles are the broken, un know, not the rich and famous.
- 14:47Speaker 2: But yeah, well look, as I said, thank you so
- 14:49Speaker 2: much for coming having attack, Congratulations on your new album
- 14:54Speaker 2: and yeah we're looking forward to seeing it out under
- 14:57Speaker 2: and make sure you google those drop bears.
- 15:01Speaker 5: Assass
