  SPEAKER_03: Oh my turn.
• 0:34
  SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
• 0:37
  SPEAKER_03: I'm Agnes.
• 0:38
SPEAKER_00: I think your surgery took away a couple of extra brain cells.
• 0:42
SPEAKER_03: I did have much to give to begin with.
• 0:45
SPEAKER_03: And you know the problem is because I am post-op healing and recovery, I can't drink alcohol and my brain's not working.
• 0:54
  SPEAKER_03: So yeah.
• 0:56
SPEAKER_03: Um and I'm still drinking my coffee.
• 1:00
  SPEAKER_00: You are drinking coffee.
• 1:01
  SPEAKER_00: I don't know.
• 1:02
  SPEAKER_03: Thank you, mom.
• 1:03
  SPEAKER_03: Yeah, I'm still drinking.
• 1:04
SPEAKER_03: No, actually, I'm drinking iced coffee.
• 1:08
  SPEAKER_03: Woo-hoo.
• 1:10
  SPEAKER_00: Being fancy over there.
• 1:11
  SPEAKER_03: I'm very fancy.
• 1:12
SPEAKER_03: Actually, I had leftover coffee.
• 1:15
SPEAKER_03: I heard my accent again.
• 1:17
SPEAKER_03: And um I was drinking and I just threw it in the refrigerator and I pulled it out today.
• 1:22
SPEAKER_03: I'm like, oh look, iced coffee.
• 1:24
SPEAKER_03: In my really cool yeti.
• 1:27
SPEAKER_00: And you're really cool, Yeti.
• 1:28
  SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
• 1:29
SPEAKER_00: I'm drinking the Frank Du Soc in my Star Wars.
• 1:35
  SPEAKER_03: He does not suck.
• 1:37
  SPEAKER_00: I don't know about that.
• 1:39
SPEAKER_00: In my little Star Wars wine glass, and it's a Sylvignon Blanc.
• 1:45
  SPEAKER_00: Can you see it?
• 1:45
SPEAKER_00: Your lack of faith is disturbing.
• 1:48
SPEAKER_03: I saw like the red line of like.
• 1:51
SPEAKER_03: Well, once you said Star Wars, I kind of figured it as much.
• 1:54
  SPEAKER_00: Okay, let's let's taste.
• 1:57
SPEAKER_03: You didn't do the sniff.
• 2:01
SPEAKER_00: I'm gonna spill it on the computer.
• 2:06
SPEAKER_00: Okay, you know what it smells like?
• 2:08
  SPEAKER_00: It smells like wine.
• 2:11
  SPEAKER_00: You don't remember?
• 2:12
SPEAKER_00: Um in living color, the the lady, it'd be like, he looked like a man.
• 2:20
SPEAKER_03: She's asking me to go back 30 years.
• 2:23
  SPEAKER_03: Right, right.
• 2:24
SPEAKER_03: But I mean, normally, yes, I know exactly it's a fair expectation.
• 2:31
SPEAKER_03: Okay, what's it taste like?
• 2:33
  SPEAKER_00: It tastes good.
• 2:35
SPEAKER_00: I will drink it, but there's like um some little like aftertaste to it, like a a bite.
• 2:45
SPEAKER_00: I don't I don't know how I do not know the first thing about describing wine except yes, I will drink, no, I will not.
• 2:52
SPEAKER_03: Is it a dry wine?
• 2:54
  SPEAKER_00: I don't know.
• 2:55
  SPEAKER_00: I can't really tell with white.
• 2:57
SPEAKER_00: It I guess more dry than sweet, but Okay.
• 3:02
  SPEAKER_00: There's like there's a tang at the end.
• 3:08
  SPEAKER_03: Okay, okay.
• 3:09
  SPEAKER_00: Maybe fruity.
• 3:11
  SPEAKER_00: I don't know.
• 3:11
SPEAKER_00: Um I feel like I feel like I taste apples.
• 3:17
SPEAKER_03: I really we okay, we should have to smooth the same compound.
• 3:22
SPEAKER_03: But I think this is like your second white that you've drank and you like and you're not a white.
• 3:25
SPEAKER_00: I would like the other one better.
• 3:27
  SPEAKER_00: Okay.
• 3:27
  SPEAKER_00: I'll say that.
• 3:28
SPEAKER_00: The the other one, I if I had a choice, I would drink the other one.
• 3:31
SPEAKER_00: This one is not bad.
• 3:32
SPEAKER_00: If you serve it to me, I am drinking it.
• 3:34
SPEAKER_00: That bottle will not go to waste, whether I drink it or cook with it.
• 3:38
SPEAKER_00: But if I had to buy one of them, granted the price was fair for both, I would buy the other one.
• 3:46
  SPEAKER_03: The other one.
• 3:47
SPEAKER_03: But that's actually saying a lot considering you're not a white, a white wine drinker.
• 3:52
  SPEAKER_03: So that's so far.
• 3:53
SPEAKER_03: This has been like what, three for three, four for four?
• 3:56
  SPEAKER_03: I don't remember.
• 3:57
  SPEAKER_03: I mean, I don't regret it.
• 3:59
SPEAKER_00: It's it's not gonna go to waste.
• 4:01
SPEAKER_00: I'm definitely gonna drink it.
• 4:02
  SPEAKER_00: Um I'll enjoy it.
• 4:04
SPEAKER_00: It's just it's just not, you know.
• 4:08
SPEAKER_03: You drink it, you won't necessarily just cook with it.
• 4:11
SPEAKER_03: You're like, because there's some wines I did the same thing a few years ago, actually, it's longer than a few years ago.
• 4:17
SPEAKER_03: And I'm a white wine drinker, and I like some reds.
• 4:20
SPEAKER_03: And there was one red that was like, yeah, this is strictly for cooking.
• 4:23
  SPEAKER_03: I can't do you.
• 4:25
SPEAKER_03: I couldn't tell you why because it was a long time ago, double digits.
• 4:30
SPEAKER_03: But so far you're drinking your bottles.
• 4:32
  SPEAKER_00: Oh, yeah.
• 4:32
SPEAKER_00: No, I am I'm happy for you.
• 4:34
SPEAKER_03: I'm happy that you're happy with your surprise box.
• 4:37
SPEAKER_00: Truth be told, there is still some of the previous white wine left.
• 4:42
SPEAKER_00: It's still in my fridge.
• 4:45
  SPEAKER_00: Because I'm, you know, I don't know.
• 4:46
SPEAKER_00: Are you because I don't really drink the white so much, but I have had another glass since I opened it, but there's still about a half a bottle.
• 4:59
SPEAKER_00: Well, almost a half a bottle left.
• 5:01
SPEAKER_03: Make sangria, because I feel like white sangria for sangria.
• 5:06
SPEAKER_03: It's enough for like a you could make between the two bottles, you could make yourself a nice little personal drink.
• 5:10
SPEAKER_00: For that, I'll just drink it.
• 5:11
SPEAKER_00: No, I would I would rather just drink it okay, or cook with it, like you know, make like a white spritzer, throw some frozen fruit in it.
• 5:20
SPEAKER_00: I do have frozen fruit.
• 5:22
SPEAKER_00: Okay, let's talk about lost.
• 5:24
  SPEAKER_00: Okay.
• 5:25
SPEAKER_00: Um, hot takes from this episode.
• 5:28
SPEAKER_03: Um, I saw this like 12 hours ago, so wait, hold up.
• 5:34
  SPEAKER_00: No.
• 5:34
SPEAKER_00: If only it was a diehard movie.
• 5:37
SPEAKER_00: I'm not gonna let you put that down.
• 5:39
  SPEAKER_02: I mean 600 diehard movies.
• 5:42
SPEAKER_02: I know exactly which one was which.
• 5:44
SPEAKER_03: I um I don't have any hot, nothing, no hot takes.
• 5:48
  SPEAKER_00: Okay.
• 5:48
SPEAKER_03: Everything's kind of like straightforward for lost.
• 5:52
  SPEAKER_00: Straightforward.
• 5:53
SPEAKER_00: You for lost episode straightforward?
• 5:57
  SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
• 5:58
SPEAKER_03: This episode, it's like even with the even with the mirrors and like let's let's go over.
• 6:03
SPEAKER_00: Let's let's briefly go over what has happened in this episode, okay?
• 6:06
SPEAKER_00: Hurley lies to a samurai, Jacob is Obi-Wan Kenobi, and Jack beats up a mirror.
• 6:12
  SPEAKER_00: And you're like, yeah, it's straightforward.
• 6:15
  SPEAKER_03: For lost.
• 6:16
SPEAKER_03: By lost standards, that is kind of like I mean, am I wrong?
• 6:23
  SPEAKER_03: Fine.
• 6:23
SPEAKER_03: Smoke monsters, polar bear in the desert.
• 6:27
SPEAKER_03: Like, come on, for lost standards.
• 6:29
  SPEAKER_03: Okay, time traveling.
• 6:31
  SPEAKER_03: This is straightforward.
• 6:35
SPEAKER_00: This is this is lost.
• 6:36
SPEAKER_00: And Jack has a kid.
• 6:37
  SPEAKER_00: We forgot about that.
• 6:38
SPEAKER_03: And Jack has a kid who's like a prodigy, and which is amazing.
• 6:44
SPEAKER_03: I mean, and Jack is more like his father than he thought he was before he got on the plane.
• 6:51
SPEAKER_03: You mean well, the this is what I because back to what you said, I was thinking about like the initial hatch thing never happened.
• 7:00
SPEAKER_03: So that probably changed a lot of little things, like the butterfly wings.
• 7:04
SPEAKER_03: Changed a lot of little things, and they bring that up too.
• 7:07
SPEAKER_03: Oh, they they do do though.
• 7:08
  SPEAKER_03: They do, don't they?
• 7:09
  SPEAKER_03: Yes.
• 7:09
SPEAKER_03: Oh, wait, no, they don't.
• 7:10
  SPEAKER_00: Hold on a second.
• 7:11
  SPEAKER_00: Wait, do they?
• 7:12
  SPEAKER_00: Wait.
• 7:14
SPEAKER_00: Because I've been watching Hold on, because I've been watching From, which is also by Jack Bender, and I'm like, wait a minute now.
• 7:22
SPEAKER_00: Hold on, I watched the episode of Lost, and then I went back to watching From, and now I'm like, wait a minute, I don't think they actually talked about it.
• 7:27
SPEAKER_00: Okay, and it's funny, I was watching something.
• 7:31
SPEAKER_03: Oh, I was watching Tyrants again, and I think they mentioned butterfly wings.
• 7:34
SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I think it was From that mentioned the butterfly wings.
• 7:36
SPEAKER_03: How funny that we're watching two different shows that mentioned butterfly wings that actually affect loss that we all both were watching.
• 7:42
SPEAKER_00: And here I am, like, yeah, I've seen this show like plenty of times, and I'm like, wait, did they?
• 7:46
  SPEAKER_00: No, they didn't.
• 7:47
SPEAKER_00: Lisa had Lisa had a moment, yeah.
• 7:50
SPEAKER_03: But I had a moment too because another show that I watched, totally different, they mentioned the whole butterfly wings.
• 7:57
SPEAKER_03: And and but it's funny how it relates to something that we both are watching.
• 8:01
SPEAKER_03: Well, nothing to do with the other two shows.
• 8:04
  SPEAKER_00: Okay, all right.
• 8:06
SPEAKER_00: So let's put the train back on the tracks.
• 8:08
SPEAKER_00: No butterfly wings, but maybe butterfly wings.
• 8:13
SPEAKER_03: But yes, um, in my head, I was like, okay, this kind of makes sense because you know, if this, then that, then you know, so I'm like, I didn't wasn't surprised.
• 8:26
SPEAKER_03: It was like like everybody, like, hello, uh people that they've never met prior to this on island present is now in their lives and they're off-island lives.
• 8:38
SPEAKER_03: I'm like, so he has a kid, it's like okay, okay, lost boredom.
• 8:44
  SPEAKER_03: It's like it's like, yeah.
• 8:46
  SPEAKER_00: Let's let's go on island.
• 8:51
SPEAKER_00: Jack is sitting at the pool in the temple, and Dogan is Dogan comes along and he said that he was afraid that Jack had left.
• 9:02
SPEAKER_00: And Jack is like, uh, leaving is an option.
• 9:32
  SPEAKER_03: Dogan.
• 9:32
SPEAKER_03: I'm kind of like, where am I going?
• 9:34
SPEAKER_00: Like Dogan tells him that everything is an option, but he'd have to stop him.
• 9:41
SPEAKER_00: And he also wants to know if the friends are coming back, i.e., Sawyer, Kate, Jin, and Jack says, probably not.
• 9:52
SPEAKER_00: And then they appreciate each other's honesty.
• 9:54
SPEAKER_00: You know, thank you for being honest with me.
• 9:56
SPEAKER_00: Meanwhile, Hurley and Miles are playing a makeshift game of tic-tac-toe, and Hurley's hungry.
• 10:04
SPEAKER_00: I feel you, buddy, because I'm hungry all the time.
• 10:07
  SPEAKER_03: Same.
• 10:08
  SPEAKER_03: I wasn't hungry before now.
• 10:10
SPEAKER_00: And as he's, you know, going to find food, he sees a guy and he's like, Hey, dude, is there a kitchen?
• 10:18
SPEAKER_00: And the man tells him where it is, but that man is actually Jacob.
• 10:23
SPEAKER_00: And Jacob tells Hurley that he needs him.
• 10:26
  SPEAKER_00: He needs his help.
• 10:28
SPEAKER_00: And he's like, So, but get a pen because you're gonna want to write this down.
• 10:32
SPEAKER_00: He says, Someone is coming to the island and he needs Hurley to help them find it.
• 10:37
SPEAKER_03: I have a thought who it is, because I when I heard this, I think Lisa's gonna ask me, but who do you think it is?
• 10:42
  SPEAKER_03: I wasn't, but who is it?
• 10:44
SPEAKER_03: I think it's either Desmond or Whitmore.
• 10:47
  SPEAKER_03: Is it Whitmore?
• 10:48
SPEAKER_03: Not Whitmore, it's what's the last name?
• 10:50
  SPEAKER_03: Whitmore, right?
• 10:51
  SPEAKER_03: Penny's father.
• 10:52
  SPEAKER_00: Whitmore, yeah.
• 10:53
  SPEAKER_03: Is it Whitmore?
• 10:54
SPEAKER_03: I think he's either Desmond slash Whitmore.
• 10:56
  SPEAKER_00: Okay.
• 10:57
SPEAKER_00: Outside the temple, the others look at Said suspiciously as he approaches Jack.
• 11:04
SPEAKER_00: He asks Jack, what you know, like Saeed wants to know what's going on because he realizes that they're all looking at him suspiciously, and Jack explains that they wanted to kill him with the poisonous pill.
• 11:21
SPEAKER_00: He explains that apparently whatever happened to you happened to someone else.
• 11:26
SPEAKER_00: And Said asked who, but before Jack could say, my sister, it's cutscene.
• 11:34
SPEAKER_00: Later on, Hurley is he's he's checking his his arm map, you know, his scribbles.
• 11:41
  SPEAKER_03: And he's handwriting.
• 11:43
  SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
• 11:44
SPEAKER_00: He's in the like the tunnels of the temple.
• 11:49
SPEAKER_00: Dogan finds Hurley in the hallway and tell you know, is like, what are you doing here?
• 11:55
SPEAKER_00: Hurley says he could do what he wants on Jacob's inst instruction.
• 12:04
SPEAKER_00: Because Dogan can't see Hurley.
• 12:06
SPEAKER_00: So Jacob is like, no, Dogan can't see Jacob.
• 12:11
  SPEAKER_00: Dogan can't see Jacob.
• 12:13
SPEAKER_00: So Jacob appears to Hurley and is saying, Tell him you could do what you want.
• 12:17
SPEAKER_00: So Hurley's like, I could do what I want.
• 12:20
SPEAKER_00: Really, he should have said, You can't tell me what I can't do, but he didn't.
• 12:23
SPEAKER_03: That would have been good.
• 12:24
  SPEAKER_00: Missed opportunity.
• 12:25
SPEAKER_03: No, he did say no.
• 12:26
SPEAKER_03: He said, No, wait, what did he say?
• 12:29
  SPEAKER_03: I'm a candidate, I can do whatever I want.
• 12:32
  SPEAKER_00: Right.
• 12:32
  SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
• 12:33
  SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
• 12:34
  SPEAKER_03: And Dogan's like, okay.
• 12:36
  SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
• 12:37
SPEAKER_00: So Hurley is a little uncertain, but he tells him, and Dogen says something in Japanese to Hurley, which translates to, you're lucky that I have to protect you, otherwise, I'd have to cut your head off.
• 12:54
SPEAKER_02: Okay, that's what he says.
• 12:55
SPEAKER_00: I feel like that's what every parent wants to say to their child.
• 12:59
SPEAKER_00: Especially when you have a teenager or an infant.
• 13:05
  SPEAKER_00: Lucky I love you.
• 13:08
SPEAKER_03: I say that to my daughter all the time.
• 13:11
SPEAKER_03: And you never stop saying that.
• 13:13
  SPEAKER_03: Right.
• 13:14
  SPEAKER_03: Ever.
• 13:14
  SPEAKER_03: Ever.
• 13:16
SPEAKER_00: After Dogan leaves, Jacob reminds Hurley that he has to bring Jack with him.
• 13:21
SPEAKER_00: Hurley doesn't know if he'll be able to convince him, and Jacob just smiles.
• 13:26
SPEAKER_00: Hurley goes to Jack and uses a false drama of whispers and secrets to tell him of the secret tunnel and the mission from Jacob.
• 13:34
SPEAKER_00: Jack doesn't want to go, but Hurley tells him that Jacob said to tell Jack that Jack has what it takes.
• 13:44
  SPEAKER_00: Jack disbelieves.
• 13:46
  SPEAKER_00: He's in disbelief.
• 13:47
SPEAKER_00: He's like, What did you just say to me?
• 13:49
  SPEAKER_00: But it convinces him.
• 13:51
SPEAKER_03: I in my head, I feel like I thought they were going to do like you tell Jack, don't do this.
• 13:58
SPEAKER_03: He's like, Well, I'm going to do it.
• 13:59
SPEAKER_03: I feel like he Hurley would have been like, I'm going to this and you can't go with me.
• 14:03
  SPEAKER_03: Well, I'm going.
• 14:04
  SPEAKER_00: Right, right, right.
• 14:06
SPEAKER_00: It's like trying to tell Kate that she can't go on a jungle trek.
• 14:10
  SPEAKER_03: I'm going.
• 14:11
SPEAKER_03: I mean, I'd rather have Kate than Jack, honestly.
• 14:16
SPEAKER_00: You know, Jack comes in handy, right?
• 14:18
  SPEAKER_00: Because if medical assistance.
• 14:20
  SPEAKER_00: Okay.
• 14:21
SPEAKER_00: And he's always willing to be a martyr.
• 14:23
SPEAKER_00: So if somebody comes and tries to eat you, Jack will just throw himself in front of you.
• 14:26
  SPEAKER_03: That's a very good point.
• 14:27
  unknown: I think.
• 14:28
SPEAKER_03: And then like Kate in the earlier seasons, she was a little bit more, you know, skillful in things.
• 14:35
SPEAKER_03: I feel like she's lost that a little bit.
• 14:37
  SPEAKER_03: She's kind of soft.
• 14:39
  SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
• 14:41
SPEAKER_00: But in Jack fashion, he's like, well, I want to see Jacob.
• 14:47
SPEAKER_00: Jacob is kind of dead, so you know, you can't.
• 14:50
SPEAKER_00: But all didn't we tell him that he was dead?
• 14:53
  SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
• 14:54
  SPEAKER_03: So, dude.
• 14:56
SPEAKER_03: He said he was dead.
• 14:57
SPEAKER_03: I just, I feel like anyone but Hurley, if someone says someone's dead, I'm not gonna ask to see them because you know they're dead.
• 15:06
  SPEAKER_03: I wouldn't, I wouldn't, there's nothing that I would demand to see.
• 15:09
SPEAKER_00: And then this continues at the end, when we get to the lighthouse, it's like, what the fuck?
• 15:16
SPEAKER_00: But we're not there yet.
• 15:18
  SPEAKER_03: No.
• 15:20
SPEAKER_00: They head out, they see a backpack, Kate pulls a gun.
• 15:25
  SPEAKER_00: Whoops.
• 15:26
  SPEAKER_00: Okay, where's Jin?
• 15:27
SPEAKER_00: Jin is going back to the temple, but except we know that he's caught in a detour, but we'll get to that.
• 15:34
SPEAKER_00: So they tell Kate there's a secret door to get back to the temple, and Jack wants her to come, and Hurley's saying, Well, she's actually not invited.
• 15:43
SPEAKER_00: And Jack says, Well, I'm inviting her.
• 15:46
SPEAKER_00: And Hurley says, Actually, no, you're not.
• 15:49
SPEAKER_00: But anyway, Kate is trying to head to the beach because she's trying to look for Claire.
• 15:56
SPEAKER_00: But they explain that the people at the temple say something happened to her, and she says, I don't care, I'm gonna go find her.
• 16:03
SPEAKER_00: And she tells Jack, I hope you're you find what you're looking for.
• 16:06
  SPEAKER_00: Hurley and Jack continue.
• 16:08
SPEAKER_00: Hurley apologizes for wrecking your game with Kate, his words.
• 16:13
SPEAKER_00: Jack says, There's nothing left to wreck.
• 16:15
SPEAKER_00: And Hurley starts to ask, you know, what happened?
• 16:19
SPEAKER_00: Because weren't you guys together?
• 16:21
SPEAKER_00: Weren't you guys gonna get married, have a bunch of kids?
• 16:25
SPEAKER_00: Jack explains he wasn't cut out for marriaging kids, which ironically, in this episode, we see he has a son.
• 16:33
SPEAKER_03: And he's you know, not like and obviously not really cut out for that either.
• 16:37
  SPEAKER_03: So he's not wrong.
• 16:38
  SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
• 16:39
SPEAKER_00: They find Shannon's inhaler and they realize they're at the caves.
• 16:44
SPEAKER_00: While there, they see the the skeletons again.
• 16:49
SPEAKER_03: And Hurley's forgot about them.
• 16:50
  SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
• 16:51
SPEAKER_00: Remember, they called them Adam and Eve.
• 16:53
SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I've like, I forgot all about that.
• 16:55
  SPEAKER_00: That's like 600 years ago, I feel.
• 16:58
SPEAKER_00: And Hurley's Hurley wonders if they might be some of the A15 survivors who were sent back in time.
• 17:06
  SPEAKER_03: That's not a bad, I mean, that's an interesting thought.
• 17:10
  SPEAKER_03: Um, that's what I'm looking for.
• 17:11
  SPEAKER_03: I can't think it.
• 17:12
SPEAKER_03: I can't think of the word, but quite poignant for Hurley.
• 17:15
SPEAKER_03: And probably actually what happened.
• 17:19
SPEAKER_00: Jack tells Hurley how he discovered the caves, and Hurley's like, yeah, you were looking for water.
• 17:25
  SPEAKER_00: Jack says, not exactly.
• 17:27
SPEAKER_00: I was following the ghost of my dead dad.
• 17:29
SPEAKER_00: But you know, tomato tomato.
• 17:32
SPEAKER_00: And he wasn't in there.
• 17:33
  SPEAKER_03: And he wasn't.
• 17:34
SPEAKER_03: So what is it with dead body?
• 17:36
SPEAKER_03: What is it with Jack's dad getting lost at all times?
• 17:40
  SPEAKER_00: I don't know.
• 17:41
SPEAKER_00: Or maybe I do know and I can't tell you.
• 17:43
  SPEAKER_00: I don't know.
• 17:45
SPEAKER_00: She gave me the finger.
• 17:47
SPEAKER_03: A very manicured finger at that.
• 17:49
SPEAKER_00: Very manicured, not like my finger.
• 17:53
SPEAKER_03: Hey, listen, it's the only thing I've been doing the last three and a half, three, like three weeks and change is like manicuring your fingers.
• 18:02
SPEAKER_03: My toe, like I can't do my toes because I don't want to bend, but I did my toes before surgery, so they're still holding up.
• 18:07
SPEAKER_03: You know, not wearing shoes kind of helps.
• 18:09
  SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
• 18:11
  SPEAKER_03: So yeah.
• 18:13
SPEAKER_00: Jack, Jack shows him the coffin all smashed, and he says that he smashed it because his father wasn't in it.
• 18:19
SPEAKER_03: I think I would smash one too.
• 18:21
SPEAKER_03: I expect to see a dead body.
• 18:23
  SPEAKER_03: It's not there.
• 18:24
SPEAKER_00: They make a joke about how, you know, what they're doing is old school trekking through the jungle on the way to do something that they don't quite understand.
• 18:34
SPEAKER_02: Is it really old school?
• 18:35
SPEAKER_02: Because I feel like they do that every single episode.
• 18:40
SPEAKER_03: But no, I get what he's talking about.
• 18:42
SPEAKER_00: But like it's more as a callback for the first season when they have no idea what the hell is going on.
• 18:50
SPEAKER_00: I mean, they still kind of don't, but they kind of do.
• 18:53
SPEAKER_00: But at least in the in between seasons one and six, they had more of a oh, we're we're on our way here because we're hoping to do this.
• 19:04
SPEAKER_00: And now they're trekking in the jungle because some dead guy told Jack he needed his help.
• 19:10
  SPEAKER_00: Yeah, all right.
• 19:12
  SPEAKER_03: Hurley.
• 19:13
  SPEAKER_03: Mm-hmm.
• 19:14
  SPEAKER_03: You said Jack.
• 19:15
  SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I meant Jack.
• 19:18
SPEAKER_03: Oh, oh, oh, oh, but Hurley, yeah, yeah, yeah.
• 19:20
  SPEAKER_03: Okay, both.
• 19:21
SPEAKER_03: Yeah, okay, then Mike, I get what you're talking about.
• 19:23
  SPEAKER_03: Okay.
• 19:23
SPEAKER_00: Hurley wants to know why Jack came back to the island, but Jack turns the question back on him.
• 19:28
SPEAKER_00: Hurley says he came back because Jacob told him to.
• 19:32
SPEAKER_03: The dead guy told him to.
• 19:34
  SPEAKER_00: Obviously.
• 19:35
SPEAKER_00: I mean, when the dead guy tells you to do something, you do something.
• 19:38
SPEAKER_03: It's kind I I wonder, someone dead came to me and told me to do X, Y, and Z.
• 19:42
SPEAKER_00: I guess it depends who it is.
• 19:45
SPEAKER_03: But but then my normal dem nature would be like, how do I know you really are this person and you're just not you're not an evil entity taking over the looking like you?
• 19:58
  SPEAKER_03: I don't know if you're like a Jack 2.0, I mean a lock 2.0.
• 20:01
SPEAKER_03: How do I know that you're not really tell me something only my mom would know?
• 20:06
SPEAKER_03: Like you know what I mean?
• 20:07
SPEAKER_03: Okay, I would totally interrogate the ghost.
• 20:10
SPEAKER_00: Hurley, the people that Hurley see are really the people.
• 20:15
SPEAKER_00: Yeah, but they're not they're never really trying to hurt him.
• 20:18
SPEAKER_03: No, I'm just like, if it was us, in my life, someone comes to me, I would I would interrogate the ghost.
• 20:24
SPEAKER_00: Yeah, well, I'd be like, I'm sorry, do you want my house?
• 20:29
  SPEAKER_00: Because I'm moving now.
• 20:30
  SPEAKER_03: I don't know.
• 20:31
SPEAKER_03: Like, I think Betty said it depends who it is.
• 20:35
  SPEAKER_00: Yeah, definitely.
• 20:36
SPEAKER_00: And what they know and what they're telling me to do.
• 20:41
SPEAKER_03: I guess I might be up for anything almost.
• 20:46
  SPEAKER_03: Almost, almost.
• 20:48
  SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
• 20:49
SPEAKER_00: But Jack says that he came back to the island because he was broken and he was stupid enough to think the island could fix him.
• 20:55
SPEAKER_03: You have to be really fucking broken to go back to the island of smoke monsters and shit.
• 21:01
SPEAKER_03: I'm just saying in general.
• 21:02
SPEAKER_00: Like in general, that's like that's really easy to that's really easy a statement to make.
• 21:10
SPEAKER_00: But if your plane crash landed in the middle of nowhere and you walked away with only a um a bruise that some random person could fix and heal you with a sewing kit, and and then every everybody else was just more or less fine.
• 21:33
SPEAKER_00: This plane split in half, dropped out of the sky, and most people, many people, just kind of walked away.
• 21:40
SPEAKER_00: You had unlimited amounts of tarps on said plane.
• 21:44
SPEAKER_00: You built a whole beach camp, you found food, you made it work.
• 21:48
  SPEAKER_00: So much the accident.
• 21:49
SPEAKER_03: I'm talking about the actual island and then sane shit with that island.
• 21:54
  SPEAKER_00: Right.
• 21:54
  SPEAKER_00: So listen to me.
• 21:56
SPEAKER_00: So then, okay, and and you were only on that plane because we were flying your dead father back to your home country from another country, and all of a sudden, people who couldn't walk could walk.
• 22:11
SPEAKER_00: There were mysterious things on this island.
• 22:14
SPEAKER_00: There were polar bears, there's monsters, there's a whole civilization who lives in houses.
• 22:20
SPEAKER_00: There are buildings, there's magic electricity, and You've gone through hell, what feels like hell, and back, and then you go home, and after all the shit that you've been through on the island, and then just to get off the island, I feel like yeah, I could see how you might think, okay, I need to go back because I'm broke.
• 22:47
SPEAKER_00: What the hell just happened to me?
• 22:49
SPEAKER_00: I just feel like if you actually went through all that shit, I'm not saying I would go back.
• 22:56
SPEAKER_00: I'm saying I'd take that settlement and go back by my compound or four, but um, and and then fill it with puppies so I won't feel so broken.
• 23:08
SPEAKER_00: But yeah, I could understand how he might just feel like he needs to go back.
• 23:15
SPEAKER_00: Anyway, in TB Land, I'm just saying I I could understand how that could fuck a dude up and cause you to do shit that someone else might not do.
• 23:27
SPEAKER_00: And someone else is me.
• 23:29
SPEAKER_00: I'm just saying I'll take my hefty oceanic settlement and buy some fainting goats, put them in pajamas.
• 23:40
SPEAKER_03: God, I want fainting goats.
• 23:41
SPEAKER_00: Oh, you can take your setting.
• 23:47
  SPEAKER_00: A llama, an alpaca.
• 23:50
SPEAKER_03: But wouldn't it have been easier to take that settlement, take time off of work, and work on yourself?
• 23:57
SPEAKER_03: But that's the healthy thing to do.
• 23:59
SPEAKER_03: Uh as opposed to going to this island that almost killed you six different ways to Sunday.
• 24:04
  SPEAKER_03: What do I know?
• 24:04
  SPEAKER_03: What do you know?
• 24:05
  SPEAKER_03: You know.
• 24:06
  SPEAKER_03: I I'm just a I'm just a realist.
• 24:08
  SPEAKER_03: I know.
• 24:08
  SPEAKER_03: Silly me.
• 24:12
  SPEAKER_03: See a therapist.
• 24:14
SPEAKER_03: So again, seeing a therapist is gonna go back to the Killer Island.
• 24:18
SPEAKER_00: I mean they they finally arrive at the light tower, the lighthouse, and Jack wants to know how they have never noticed this before because it's about you know five stories high.
• 24:36
SPEAKER_00: Hurley says it's probably because they never looked for it.
• 24:40
  SPEAKER_03: Fair.
• 24:42
SPEAKER_03: I mean, you know, you know, there's things in front of your face.
• 24:45
SPEAKER_03: You're like, how did I not see this building that I've lived across the street from for 10 years?
• 24:50
SPEAKER_03: Is this something you're looking at?
• 24:51
SPEAKER_03: You know, so that's a fair assessment.
• 24:53
SPEAKER_00: When they try to get in, the door is jammed.
• 24:56
  SPEAKER_00: Jack, Jack is funny.
• 24:57
SPEAKER_00: He's like, is there anything on your arm about how, you know, the jam door?
• 25:02
  SPEAKER_00: Hurley's like, no.
• 25:05
SPEAKER_00: So Jack takes a page out of Said's book and kicks that motherfucker down.
• 25:10
SPEAKER_02: How to be your manly man.
• 25:13
SPEAKER_00: Step one, kick in a door.
• 25:16
  SPEAKER_00: Step two, be Saeed.
• 25:18
  SPEAKER_00: Sorry.
• 25:23
  SPEAKER_00: Okay.
• 25:24
SPEAKER_00: They they get to the top, and Hurley says, so there's there's kind of like a trifold mirror, you know, like the trifold boards that you did your science fair project on.
• 25:35
SPEAKER_03: I still have post-traumatic stress like reactions to that.
• 25:39
SPEAKER_03: I'm so glad Krista's done with that.
• 25:41
SPEAKER_00: You really you know that I made one for a recording, right?
• 25:44
SPEAKER_00: For what I have to record, if if I have to record in in like not in my room.
• 25:49
  SPEAKER_02: Oh, yeah, you did.
• 25:50
  SPEAKER_02: You did tell me.
• 25:50
  SPEAKER_00: You saw it, right?
• 25:52
SPEAKER_00: It's a trifold board and I put the sound squares.
• 25:57
  SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
• 25:57
SPEAKER_00: I just glued them on so I could put it behind the mic.
• 26:01
  SPEAKER_00: It worked.
• 26:02
SPEAKER_03: Wasn't that done like like like our first couple episodes, like our first phone?
• 26:06
SPEAKER_00: No, I did it when we moved here.
• 26:08
  SPEAKER_03: Oh, okay.
• 26:08
SPEAKER_00: No, because I was recording my room and it was carpet, the blankets, so you know, I used to put pillows behind the mic.
• 26:16
SPEAKER_00: But my room was smaller, but you know, anyway.
• 26:21
SPEAKER_00: So next to the the I mean, I think there's actually more than three, but you know, it's it's that kind of whatever.
• 26:29
SPEAKER_00: There's some kind of bowl, looks like a fire pit in the middle.
• 26:35
SPEAKER_00: And he says that they have to turn it to a hundred.
• 26:43
SPEAKER_00: And if and then when they start to turn and you see the wheel turning, all the names are there.
• 26:51
SPEAKER_00: And they caught the numbers correspond to the numbers in the cave.
• 26:56
  SPEAKER_03: I caught that.
• 26:58
  SPEAKER_00: Look at you.
• 27:00
SPEAKER_00: As they're turning, Jack sees different scenes reflected in the mirrors.
• 27:05
SPEAKER_00: But he turns around, like, what the fuck?
• 27:08
SPEAKER_00: But all it is is ocean.
• 27:10
SPEAKER_00: And Hurley's saying, dude, there's just ocean.
• 27:12
  SPEAKER_00: There's not there's no house.
• 27:14
SPEAKER_00: Like, the fuck is you know Jack sees houses, Hurley sees dead people.
• 27:18
  SPEAKER_00: Alright.
• 27:20
SPEAKER_00: So Jack notices that Shepard is adjacent to the number 23, and it's actually written in capitals, which is more um, which is written more boldly than the rest of the names.
• 27:36
SPEAKER_03: So is Shepard gonna be is Jack gonna be the new Jacob?
• 27:41
  SPEAKER_03: I don't know.
• 27:42
  SPEAKER_03: I don't know.
• 27:43
SPEAKER_03: I'm just putting it out there now.
• 27:44
SPEAKER_03: You can drop that down.
• 27:45
SPEAKER_03: Agnes thinks Jack is the new shepherd.
• 27:48
SPEAKER_03: Jack is the new shepherd.
• 27:49
  SPEAKER_03: Oh, he's a shepherd.
• 27:52
  SPEAKER_03: That's actually sh fitting.
• 27:53
SPEAKER_03: Okay, shepherd would be the next shepherd.
• 27:58
SPEAKER_00: Jack wants Hurley to take the to to put the wheel to his number, number 23.
• 28:02
  SPEAKER_00: Hurley says no.
• 28:04
SPEAKER_00: Because he's just trying to follow Jacob's instructions, and Jack does what Jack does and takes over.
• 28:10
SPEAKER_00: He turns the wheel to 23, and they both see a reflection of Jack's childhood home.
• 28:18
SPEAKER_00: And now Jack is like, Jacob has been watching them.
• 28:22
SPEAKER_00: He hasn't lived in that house since he was a kid.
• 28:25
SPEAKER_00: And now Jacob Jack is saying, I where is Jacob?
• 28:29
  SPEAKER_00: Hurley's like, I don't know.
• 28:30
SPEAKER_00: I mean, he just kind of pops in.
• 28:32
SPEAKER_00: He doesn't he doesn't really give me his schedule.
• 28:34
SPEAKER_00: He doesn't clear it with me.
• 28:35
  SPEAKER_00: I don't have his itinerary.
• 28:36
SPEAKER_00: Um, the fuck you want me to tell you?
• 28:40
SPEAKER_00: And Jack just keeps going.
• 28:42
SPEAKER_00: Like, you realize that Hurley is talking to you on behalf of a dead guy.
• 28:47
SPEAKER_03: What and this is Hurley.
• 28:49
SPEAKER_03: It's not like a complete stranger where you don't believe.
• 28:50
  SPEAKER_03: It's just Hurley.
• 28:51
SPEAKER_03: So if Hurley, if Hurley's telling you something, like I don't have access to him, it's hard to it's kind of hard not to believe him.
• 28:59
SPEAKER_03: Like you keep asking him, it's not gonna change the answer.
• 29:02
  SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
• 29:03
SPEAKER_00: So he says he wants to know why Jacob has been watching them, why is his name there?
• 29:08
SPEAKER_00: Hurley doesn't have these answers.
• 29:10
SPEAKER_00: He he tells him, I don't know.
• 29:11
  SPEAKER_00: He didn't tell me.
• 29:12
SPEAKER_00: He told me to come here.
• 29:13
SPEAKER_00: I assumed he was gonna be here.
• 29:14
  SPEAKER_00: I don't know for sure.
• 29:18
SPEAKER_00: Jack is just, you know, raging.
• 29:23
  SPEAKER_00: Jack is jacking.
• 29:24
  SPEAKER_00: Mm-hmm.
• 29:25
SPEAKER_00: And then he smashes the mirror.
• 29:28
SPEAKER_00: He smashes all of them.
• 29:30
SPEAKER_00: Hurley is like, dude, you just broke his lighthouse.
• 29:36
SPEAKER_02: You just broke his lighthouse.
• 29:37
  SPEAKER_00: Jack broke the lighthouse.
• 29:40
SPEAKER_00: Afterwards, Hurley's sitting outside, and Jacob appears.
• 29:45
SPEAKER_00: Hurley apologizes because he thinks that he failed the mission, and that now, you know, the people who are trying to find the island, they're totally screwed.
• 29:55
SPEAKER_00: Jacob is like, that's okay, they'll find another way.
• 29:58
SPEAKER_00: We see Jack in the distance.
• 30:00
SPEAKER_00: He's just sitting there staring at the ocean, and Hurley realizes that actually Jacob's plan was for Jack to see what was in the mirror.
• 30:10
SPEAKER_00: He says it was the only way for Jack to see how important he is.
• 30:15
SPEAKER_00: And he also says that Jack is here to do something, and that to get some people to do something, you just tell them.
• 30:23
SPEAKER_00: But for people like Jack, you need to let them look at look out at the ocean for a little while.
• 30:29
SPEAKER_00: He also explains that he had to get them away from the temple because someone bad is about to arrive.
• 30:37
SPEAKER_00: Hurley wants to warn the people at the temple, but Jacob restrains him and saying it's he says it's already too late.
• 30:44
SPEAKER_00: Who is going to the temple?
• 30:47
  SPEAKER_00: Loc 2.0 or Claire.
• 30:51
  SPEAKER_00: Claire and Locke 2.0.
• 30:53
SPEAKER_00: Let's go to Claire and Jin.
• 30:58
  SPEAKER_03: Question, I forgot.
• 31:00
  SPEAKER_03: Where's Sun at?
• 31:01
SPEAKER_03: Which way which way does she go?
• 31:02
  SPEAKER_03: 600 episodes ago.
• 31:04
SPEAKER_03: Which way did she go?
• 31:06
SPEAKER_00: Is with Frank and Ilana.
• 31:09
SPEAKER_03: Right, right, right, right, right.
• 31:10
  SPEAKER_03: Okay, never mind.
• 31:10
  SPEAKER_03: That's right.
• 31:11
  SPEAKER_03: Okay, never mind.
• 31:12
  SPEAKER_03: I'm done.
• 31:12
  SPEAKER_03: Good night.
• 31:13
SPEAKER_03: And then I had a brain for it.
• 31:15
  SPEAKER_03: Alright.
• 31:17
SPEAKER_00: Claire checks to see if Aldo and Justin are dead before she frees Jen from the bear trap.
• 31:26
SPEAKER_00: She says that she's been living in the jungle since the others left.
• 31:30
SPEAKER_00: And um she starts to help Jim, but he passes out.
• 31:34
SPEAKER_00: He wakes up and he's at her little her little hut.
• 31:40
SPEAKER_00: He sees a cradle with a makeshift doll, which is the scariest doll ever, because it's some kind of animal, I guess maybe a boar, uh skeleton, and fur.
• 31:57
SPEAKER_00: So this is something straight out of your nightmares.
• 32:01
  SPEAKER_00: Right.
• 32:02
SPEAKER_00: And Claire returns with Justin and he's alive.
• 32:07
SPEAKER_00: She says that he was trying to fool her.
• 32:11
SPEAKER_00: And wait, are you seeing now?
• 32:14
SPEAKER_00: Are you are you recognizing the similarities between Claire and Rousseau?
• 32:20
SPEAKER_03: Absolutely freaking wait, it was a little eerie because of Mike.
• 32:24
SPEAKER_00: They both these women who landed on the island, had a baby, had their baby taken away, and are never the same after.
• 32:37
SPEAKER_03: And if I feel like refresh my memory, if it didn't happen simultaneously, it happened like right around the same time.
• 32:46
SPEAKER_03: Rousseau dying and Claire disappearing into the ether.
• 32:51
SPEAKER_03: I feel like it happened practically.
• 32:54
SPEAKER_00: I don't know if it was the same day, but yes.
• 32:56
SPEAKER_03: It kind of happened, like big picture happened, like one one died, and another one replaced her.
• 33:03
  SPEAKER_03: Weird.
• 33:03
SPEAKER_03: It's like that haunted house that needs to have like a body in it.
• 33:06
SPEAKER_03: You know what I mean?
• 33:09
SPEAKER_03: Kind of like Jacob needs to wash the island.
• 33:11
SPEAKER_03: The island needs a crazy mother figure.
• 33:14
  SPEAKER_00: Babyless lady.
• 33:16
SPEAKER_03: A mother figure, but of course, the way they make the mother figure makes them crazy.
• 33:22
  SPEAKER_03: Oh, just wait.
• 33:23
  SPEAKER_03: Oh, fuck me.
• 33:25
SPEAKER_03: Am I needing an Adavan to this?
• 33:27
SPEAKER_00: Um, there's there's an episode that if I needed an Adavan, it's coming, but I don't know.
• 33:34
SPEAKER_00: You have no talent, so you can't, yeah.
• 33:38
  SPEAKER_00: I don't know.
• 33:39
SPEAKER_00: But I feel like there's an episode.
• 33:44
SPEAKER_00: To me, that episode is okay.
• 33:49
SPEAKER_00: There's an episode coming that's worse than the Charlie episode.
• 33:53
SPEAKER_03: Because you keep telling me, like, oh my god, you're gonna cry, you're gonna eat out of it.
• 33:56
  SPEAKER_03: I'm like, yeah, no, I'm okay.
• 33:58
SPEAKER_00: Fine, I'm not gonna tell you, and you're just gonna suffer.
• 34:02
  SPEAKER_00: Anyhow.
• 34:03
SPEAKER_00: Have you met my life?
• 34:04
SPEAKER_00: Have you seen my life?
• 34:05
  SPEAKER_03: Bring it up.
• 34:06
SPEAKER_03: I think suffering is on brand.
• 34:08
  SPEAKER_03: It's fine.
• 34:09
  SPEAKER_00: All right, fine.
• 34:11
SPEAKER_00: Claire is convinced that the others have her baby.
• 34:14
SPEAKER_03: And give me the baby.
• 34:17
  unknown: Sorry.
• 34:18
  SPEAKER_00: We want the boy.
• 34:21
  SPEAKER_00: Claire.
• 34:23
SPEAKER_00: Claire is just like, okay, well, tell me where my baby is because you took my baby.
• 34:27
SPEAKER_00: And he keeps saying, I like I don't have your baby.
• 34:32
SPEAKER_00: But Claire, Claire fixes up Jin's leg, and then she explains that she actually hasn't been alone in the jungle.
• 34:42
SPEAKER_00: She's been here with her dad and her friend.
• 34:45
SPEAKER_00: And that her father is the one who told her that her baby was with the others.
• 34:51
SPEAKER_00: And she doesn't say who her friend is, but she says that it's good to know that Jin is still her friend.
• 34:58
SPEAKER_00: She threatens Justin, that's the you know, the other guy, with the axe, and Justin keeps telling her, I don't know.
• 35:07
SPEAKER_00: We don't have your baby.
• 35:10
SPEAKER_00: She says that they caught her, they branded her, and you know, she escaped.
• 35:16
SPEAKER_00: Jin speaks up and says, Actually, Kate took your baby.
• 35:22
SPEAKER_00: And Claire is kind of like, Oh, okay, and then kills Justin with the axe.
• 35:30
SPEAKER_00: So Claire is an axe murderer now.
• 35:34
  SPEAKER_03: And you know what?
• 35:36
SPEAKER_03: This go and I this sounds maybe a little silly, but you think about it, it's not so silly.
• 35:41
SPEAKER_03: Yeah, you know, is Agnes silly.
• 35:43
SPEAKER_03: You know how they like usually for women, oh, she's crazy.
• 35:48
  SPEAKER_03: She's crazy, she's crazy.
• 35:50
SPEAKER_03: They don't, and it happens to men too.
• 35:52
  SPEAKER_03: He's a fuckboy, he's a fuckboy.
• 35:53
SPEAKER_03: They never talk about the person or their history that made them that way.
• 35:58
  SPEAKER_03: Well, of course.
• 35:59
SPEAKER_03: They talk about women and their daddy issues.
• 36:02
SPEAKER_03: What about the daddy that gave her the daddy issues?
• 36:04
SPEAKER_00: Like, it's always Yeah, it's the same way that people people say, like, oh, she she fucked her way to the top.
• 36:14
SPEAKER_00: Well, what about the men who used her?
• 36:16
  SPEAKER_00: Right.
• 36:17
  SPEAKER_00: Who's that shit?
• 36:19
  SPEAKER_00: Forced her.
• 36:19
  SPEAKER_00: Right.
• 36:20
SPEAKER_03: But forced, like either that or I, you know, I get blackballed.
• 36:24
  SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
• 36:24
  SPEAKER_03: It's it's always a skewed real reality.
• 36:27
SPEAKER_03: So I don't, I mean, yes, she's not the same person, but I'm pretty sure the island and the smoke monster and and and the guy in black or whatever throughout the islands has made her fucking crazy.
• 36:39
SPEAKER_03: Like Rousseau was made crazy.
• 36:41
SPEAKER_03: Rousseau didn't go on the island crazy.
• 36:43
SPEAKER_00: No, she landed on this crazy fucking island and then somebody stole her baby.
• 36:47
SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I'd be crazy too.
• 36:49
SPEAKER_00: On top of the islands, fucking the islands mounted up.
• 36:52
  SPEAKER_00: It's like Australia.
• 36:52
SPEAKER_00: Everything is trying to kill you there.
• 36:54
  SPEAKER_00: Seriously.
• 36:55
SPEAKER_03: And the dingo ate your baby.
• 36:57
SPEAKER_03: The dingo, and I found out the dingo really did eat her baby.
• 37:00
  SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
• 37:01
SPEAKER_03: So, yeah, I'm not really mad at well.
• 37:04
SPEAKER_03: The dingo took her baby.
• 37:04
SPEAKER_03: Maybe it didn't eat her baby, but the dingo took her baby.
• 37:09
  SPEAKER_03: Same, you know.
• 37:10
  SPEAKER_03: Almost the same.
• 37:11
  SPEAKER_03: Almost the same shit.
• 37:12
  SPEAKER_03: But okay, off topic.
• 37:14
  SPEAKER_03: I know.
• 37:14
  SPEAKER_00: So Jen.
• 37:16
SPEAKER_00: Claire asked him if he was telling the truth, and he says that he lied.
• 37:21
SPEAKER_00: He said he lied because he was hoping that if he said that, it would save Justin's life.
• 37:26
SPEAKER_00: But he tells Claire she's right, they have your baby, and I saw him.
• 37:30
  SPEAKER_00: That's how I know.
• 37:31
SPEAKER_00: Claire says, that's good because if Kate actually had my baby, I'd have to kill her.
• 37:37
  SPEAKER_00: Boom, boom, boom.
• 37:39
SPEAKER_00: Obviously, there's scenes in between, but the next scene we get with Claire at her little jungle uh chateau is clock is lock, fake lock walking in.
• 37:52
  SPEAKER_00: Lock?
• 37:52
  SPEAKER_00: Fake lock, clock.
• 37:54
  SPEAKER_00: You said clock.
• 37:55
  SPEAKER_00: Did I?
• 37:55
  SPEAKER_00: I don't know.
• 37:56
  SPEAKER_00: You said clock.
• 37:57
SPEAKER_00: I mean, I have to drink and it's breakfast time.
• 38:01
SPEAKER_00: As we're recording, I love that for you.
• 38:02
SPEAKER_00: So I've had wine for breakfast.
• 38:05
SPEAKER_00: And I had a Benadryl last night.
• 38:06
SPEAKER_00: So I might be like six ways to fuck up right now.
• 38:09
  SPEAKER_03: This is amazing.
• 38:10
SPEAKER_03: No, actually kind of boring considering.
• 38:12
  SPEAKER_00: All right.
• 38:13
  SPEAKER_00: Sorry.
• 38:13
  SPEAKER_00: I'll I'll hold on.
• 38:15
SPEAKER_00: Let me take another sip.
• 38:17
  SPEAKER_03: Oh, she's sipping, baby.
• 38:19
SPEAKER_00: Am I the only one who I mean, not today, but you ever drink wine in bed and then you fall asleep, but then when you wake up, you realize you never finish your wash.
• 38:28
SPEAKER_00: Oh, wait, but I drink the wine.
• 38:30
SPEAKER_00: So you drink your breakfast wine?
• 38:31
  SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
• 38:32
  SPEAKER_00: I mean, it's juice.
• 38:33
  SPEAKER_03: It's juice.
• 38:34
  SPEAKER_03: It's Jesus juice.
• 38:35
  SPEAKER_03: I'm just it was it's Sunday.
• 38:39
SPEAKER_00: If I was at church, I could be doing that and it'd be acceptable.
• 38:43
  SPEAKER_03: Absolutely.
• 38:43
  SPEAKER_03: Okay.
• 38:44
SPEAKER_03: And at one point it used to be water.
• 38:45
SPEAKER_03: So you know what I mean?
• 38:47
  SPEAKER_03: Exactly.
• 38:48
SPEAKER_03: This is just this is just post-water.
• 38:51
  SPEAKER_03: Post water.
• 38:52
  SPEAKER_03: Okay.
• 38:53
  SPEAKER_03: And absolutely.
• 38:55
SPEAKER_03: That is water touched by Jesus.
• 38:56
  SPEAKER_03: Okay.
• 38:57
SPEAKER_00: So and in here I have pre-wine.
• 39:01
  SPEAKER_00: You've covered the game.
• 39:02
  SPEAKER_00: Pre-wine, and this is post-water.
• 39:05
SPEAKER_00: And the listeners can see, but I'm holding up a glass of water and a glass of wine, and you can figure out which is with which the would be.
• 39:12
  SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
• 39:14
SPEAKER_03: You can also figure out which one I've been drinking.
• 39:16
SPEAKER_03: And I've actually done like I've actually done that with much sometimes like harder drinks than wine.
• 39:23
  SPEAKER_03: I'm like, oh, I didn't finish that.
• 39:28
  SPEAKER_00: Okay.
• 39:28
  SPEAKER_00: I don't know if I've ever done that.
• 39:30
SPEAKER_00: A beer the next morning, or like a beer the next morning just is not.
• 39:36
SPEAKER_03: I'm talking about like my little mixed drinks.
• 39:38
  SPEAKER_03: I'm like, oh, I didn't finish that.
• 39:39
  SPEAKER_03: I didn't finish that.
• 39:40
SPEAKER_00: If I wake up in the middle of the night, yes.
• 39:43
SPEAKER_00: But if it once it's about eight o'clock in the morning, I'm like, uh, unless it's wine, I'm not.
• 39:48
  SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
• 39:48
SPEAKER_03: I can still it still tastes the same, it's just as good.
• 39:51
  SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
• 39:51
  SPEAKER_03: Actually, it hits harder.
• 39:52
SPEAKER_03: You're like, woohoo! I'll have to try that one.
• 39:55
SPEAKER_03: Do you know how socky?
• 39:56
SPEAKER_00: We'll we'll have to do that at Pod Fest.
• 39:58
SPEAKER_00: We'll just have to put some hard drinks.
• 40:00
  SPEAKER_03: Oh, finish our drinks.
• 40:02
SPEAKER_00: The little bags came in for the oh, yeah.
• 40:07
  SPEAKER_03: Not too much.
• 40:08
SPEAKER_03: Gonna have to like leave a little cliffhanger until like post podfest.
• 40:13
  SPEAKER_00: Oh, they're they're far.
• 40:14
SPEAKER_00: I can't show you right now, but they came in.
• 40:17
  SPEAKER_00: I'll I'll snap you a picture.
• 40:19
SPEAKER_00: Yay! And so yes, there's one more thing ready.
• 40:23
SPEAKER_00: Woohoo! The little drink baggies.
• 40:26
  SPEAKER_00: Okay.
• 40:26
  SPEAKER_03: The little drink baggage.
• 40:29
  SPEAKER_00: Okay, anyway.
• 40:30
  SPEAKER_00: Fake lock walks in.
• 40:33
  SPEAKER_00: Am I interrupting anything?
• 40:35
SPEAKER_00: And Jen is like, uh John?
• 40:39
SPEAKER_00: And she says, that's not John, that's my friend.
• 40:43
SPEAKER_03: So it makes you think like she doesn't see him like everyone else sees him.
• 40:47
SPEAKER_03: Does she see him as the man in black?
• 40:52
  SPEAKER_03: See, I pay attention.
• 40:53
SPEAKER_00: Look at you paying attention.
• 40:56
  SPEAKER_03: I mean, I'm not that broke where I can't pay attention.
• 40:58
  SPEAKER_03: Actually, yes, I am.
• 40:59
SPEAKER_03: But you know, I found a couple coins in my purse that I could pay enough attention to the show to stop my stumbling.
• 41:05
SPEAKER_03: No, but I really am.
• 41:07
SPEAKER_00: Let's do the flash sideways.
• 41:10
  SPEAKER_00: Are you ready?
• 41:12
  SPEAKER_00: I'm ready.
• 41:13
  SPEAKER_00: I'm ready.
• 41:14
SPEAKER_00: Jack arrives home at his apartment in Los Angeles.
• 41:18
SPEAKER_00: He's changing, and we see the scar.
• 41:22
SPEAKER_00: And so, if you remember, that was the operation, the appendectomy that Juliet performed on him.
• 41:28
SPEAKER_03: That was kind of funny.
• 41:29
SPEAKER_03: I was like, how are they going to explain this one?
• 41:33
SPEAKER_00: And we see him looking at it kind of inquisitively and saying, like you could see the wheels in his head turning.
• 41:40
SPEAKER_00: Like, what the hell is that?
• 41:42
SPEAKER_03: And then another thing is this makes me think like this isn't all dead or it's a parallel universe or something.
• 41:51
SPEAKER_03: Because if the hash thing never actually happened, they never would have been on the island.
• 41:55
SPEAKER_03: He never would have had an epidemic.
• 41:57
  SPEAKER_03: It's like, why it's just weird.
• 41:59
  SPEAKER_00: Right.
• 42:00
  SPEAKER_00: Something right.
• 42:02
SPEAKER_00: So you see the scar and you're like, okay, well, we know as the viewer how he got that scar.
• 42:08
SPEAKER_00: But he calls his mom and he asks her about it.
• 42:13
  SPEAKER_00: Actually, no.
• 42:15
SPEAKER_00: His mom calls and he asks her about the scar.
• 42:20
SPEAKER_00: But the mom was calling about the coffin.
• 42:22
  SPEAKER_00: She wants an update.
• 42:23
SPEAKER_00: But he asks her about the scar, and she says that he had his appendix removed when he was a kid, like eight years old.
• 42:30
SPEAKER_00: And he collapsed in school.
• 42:32
  SPEAKER_00: She's like, but don't you remember?
• 42:33
  SPEAKER_00: He's like, um, I guess.
• 42:36
  SPEAKER_03: That's another weird thing.
• 42:38
SPEAKER_03: I'm like, I'm be I mean, yeah, because you remember your surgeries.
• 42:42
  SPEAKER_03: Yeah, I would have.
• 42:42
SPEAKER_03: My brother had to have surgery when he was about seven.
• 42:47
  SPEAKER_03: He was about seven.
• 42:48
  SPEAKER_03: Who's that?
• 42:49
  SPEAKER_03: My brother.
• 42:49
  SPEAKER_03: Oh.
• 42:50
  SPEAKER_03: And he remembers it.
• 42:52
  SPEAKER_00: Right.
• 42:53
SPEAKER_00: Maybe you don't remember all the details.
• 42:55
SPEAKER_00: Maybe you don't remember what day it was, but I feel like if you collapsed in school, collapsed in school and then had surgery, you might remember.
• 43:02
  SPEAKER_00: You remember that.
• 43:04
SPEAKER_03: And my brother has done a lot of um mind-altering things, thus.
• 43:09
SPEAKER_03: And that's something he remembers.
• 43:10
SPEAKER_03: And this is like 40, not 40, it's 30 something years later.
• 43:13
  SPEAKER_03: So yeah, I'm like, uh-huh.
• 43:16
  SPEAKER_03: They're all dead.
• 43:17
  SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
• 43:18
SPEAKER_03: And they can't reconcile the the different memories.
• 43:21
SPEAKER_03: They can't like it doesn't is they're all dead.
• 43:24
SPEAKER_03: And the fact that things are like merging, he can't reconcile that.
• 43:27
SPEAKER_03: It's like the matrix is like glitching.
• 43:30
  SPEAKER_03: There's a glitch in the matrix.
• 43:31
  SPEAKER_03: There's a glitch in the matrix.
• 43:34
SPEAKER_03: It's funny how that's become like a whole generational like thing.
• 43:39
  SPEAKER_00: It works though.
• 43:40
  SPEAKER_00: It's probably true.
• 43:42
SPEAKER_00: His mother needs she his mother's looking for the dad's will, but she can't find it, so Jack says that he's gonna go help.
• 43:52
SPEAKER_00: But then he says, Oh no, I gotta go, and he hangs up.
• 43:56
SPEAKER_00: And he arrives at St.
• 44:00
SPEAKER_00: Mary's Academy, and he's picking up, oh, look at that, his son David.
• 44:04
SPEAKER_00: Who is this kid and where did he come from?
• 44:07
SPEAKER_00: But we see Jack apologize for being late.
• 44:10
SPEAKER_00: The kid is like, Yeah, whatever.
• 44:13
  SPEAKER_00: Uh typical fucking kid.
• 44:15
SPEAKER_00: And then they come back to the apartment, there's an awkward conversation.
• 44:21
SPEAKER_00: Jack is, oh, you're reading this.
• 44:23
SPEAKER_00: Oh, look, I hooked up the Cable in case you want to watch the Red Sox fuck the Red Sox.
• 44:28
SPEAKER_00: And as Jack is reminiscing about how he used to read that book to uh David when he was a kid, David just walks out of the fucking room.
• 44:41
SPEAKER_00: I would never have done that to my parents, although there are many times I wish I could have.
• 44:52
SPEAKER_00: If your mother came into the room and is talking to you, I would be very afraid to walk out of the room, also.
• 44:58
SPEAKER_00: I mean, can I just say that?
• 45:01
SPEAKER_00: I mean, while she was alive, I wouldn't have walked out on her either.
• 45:04
SPEAKER_00: But if she was dead, I wouldn't be especially afraid.
• 45:09
SPEAKER_03: You can't like shut your door, you know, unless you come right through the door, like, hey.
• 45:16
SPEAKER_03: Any insight up there, mom?
• 45:19
SPEAKER_00: Let us what day to play, maybe something, you know.
• 45:24
SPEAKER_00: Where some sunken ship is located.
• 45:29
SPEAKER_03: I will look, I will go swimming.
• 45:30
  SPEAKER_03: I would go deep.
• 45:31
  SPEAKER_03: I would listen.
• 45:33
  SPEAKER_03: Any buried treasure.
• 45:35
SPEAKER_03: And I would get a pen and write on my arm and be like, okay, well.
• 45:40
SPEAKER_02: I would do the early.
• 45:41
SPEAKER_00: Any any lighthouses I should go break.
• 45:44
  SPEAKER_00: Come on.
• 45:44
SPEAKER_03: There's one around the corner from me.
• 45:46
  SPEAKER_03: I mean.
• 45:47
  SPEAKER_03: Yeah, we would.
• 45:48
  SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
• 45:48
SPEAKER_03: So Lisa, if I call you like Lisa, we gotta go to the lighthouse.
• 45:52
SPEAKER_03: I feel like you would get on the plane.
• 45:53
SPEAKER_03: You're like, oh, some shit's about to happen.
• 45:57
  SPEAKER_03: Lisa's that, Lisa's that chick.
• 46:01
SPEAKER_03: If I have a random like request, she's like, all right, I'm on my way.
• 46:05
SPEAKER_03: I feel like she'd be intrigued, but she would definitely give it a she would if she couldn't get on the plane, she would drive the 14 hours.
• 46:12
SPEAKER_03: One, because she's a ride or die.
• 46:14
SPEAKER_03: And two, she's like, oh, this sounds like fun.
• 46:17
SPEAKER_03: And I don't know what the fuck is happening, but I'm intrigued.
• 46:21
  SPEAKER_03: I'm in.
• 46:22
  SPEAKER_00: What time?
• 46:24
  SPEAKER_00: That sounds absolutely bonkers.
• 46:27
SPEAKER_00: What time do we leave?
• 46:28
SPEAKER_02: Let me put my shoes on.
• 46:32
SPEAKER_00: I am always getting my feet because I'm constantly fucking barefoot.
• 46:38
SPEAKER_00: My other injury, uh, the bruise is going away, and I can move my toes.
• 46:42
SPEAKER_00: I don't think any of them are broken, so that's good.
• 46:45
  SPEAKER_00: I can't with you.
• 46:46
  SPEAKER_00: I think okay.
• 46:48
SPEAKER_00: I drink friends with Yeti.
• 46:50
SPEAKER_00: You know, one of those metal Yeti tumblers.
• 46:53
SPEAKER_00: Yeah, one fell off the counter and landed dead smack on my toes, blood all over the kitchen.
• 47:00
SPEAKER_00: It was so it was so bad that my husband actually helped me clean it up and and put like peroxide and stuff.
• 47:08
SPEAKER_00: The fact that that's how bad it was.
• 47:09
SPEAKER_00: My husband had to just help.
• 47:11
SPEAKER_00: Yeah, that he didn't just stand there and laugh at me.
• 47:13
  SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
• 47:15
SPEAKER_00: That sounds terrible, but if you know him, you know him.
• 47:18
  SPEAKER_00: Like it's it's okay.
• 47:20
  SPEAKER_00: Um, anyway.
• 47:21
  SPEAKER_03: That's hysterical.
• 47:22
  SPEAKER_03: I can't.
• 47:24
SPEAKER_03: Lisa's that friend that even when I have a day of doing nothing, I am, and I live what, 14 hours away driving, 1,500 miles away, but I feel like I always need to be somewhat ready for anything.
• 47:39
SPEAKER_02: I feel like I need to be like partially dressed.
• 47:43
  SPEAKER_02: I have a suitcase that's partially packed.
• 47:45
  SPEAKER_02: I feel like I just don't know.
• 47:47
SPEAKER_00: You never know when I'm just gonna show up with a U-Haul truck.
• 47:51
SPEAKER_00: I or some shit happened.
• 47:52
SPEAKER_00: Or send a package to your door.
• 47:54
  SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
• 47:55
  SPEAKER_00: Something.
• 47:55
SPEAKER_03: Or hey, can you pick me at the airport in like 30 minutes?
• 47:59
  unknown: Okay.
• 48:00
SPEAKER_00: I feel like I always be calling you 30 minutes before you need to pick me up.
• 48:05
SPEAKER_03: There's Wi-Fi on the plane, you know.
• 48:08
SPEAKER_03: And we talk via WhatsApp.
• 48:10
  SPEAKER_02: So whatever logistics, fine.
• 48:14
SPEAKER_02: Because you're not, because you wouldn't want to give me too much of a head notice.
• 48:18
SPEAKER_02: You'll just do it enough time to get to the airport.
• 48:20
SPEAKER_00: One day you're just gonna come home and see like some random person sitting at your doorstep and be like, the fuck?
• 48:26
  SPEAKER_00: What the no?
• 48:28
  SPEAKER_00: I'm like, oh, that's Lisa.
• 48:30
SPEAKER_00: I wouldn't have to even know who it is.
• 48:31
SPEAKER_02: I'm like, oh, it's probably just Lisa.
• 48:34
SPEAKER_00: If I could afford more plane tickets, that actually might happen.
• 48:39
SPEAKER_02: Even us being broke, I'm still feeling like I have to kind of stay ready.
• 48:43
  SPEAKER_02: I don't know why.
• 48:44
SPEAKER_02: It's just something like Yeah.
• 48:48
  SPEAKER_02: I'm just like, I don't know, traumatized.
• 48:50
  SPEAKER_02: I don't know.
• 48:50
  SPEAKER_02: That's okay.
• 48:50
  SPEAKER_02: I like being friend.
• 48:52
SPEAKER_02: You were the you're that friend, and I love that for us.
• 48:55
SPEAKER_00: I like being that person that you just you just don't know what you're gonna get.
• 49:00
SPEAKER_00: And I'm okay with that.
• 49:02
  SPEAKER_00: You're like a box of chocolates.
• 49:05
SPEAKER_00: Yeah, except that's except uh I'm not gonna kill a dog, but okay.
• 49:12
  SPEAKER_00: No, no.
• 49:13
  SPEAKER_02: I thought all right.
• 49:16
SPEAKER_00: Jack goes to his mother's house and they're searching for the will.
• 49:20
SPEAKER_00: She offers him a drink, he says no, and she says, good for you, because you know, before we saw Jack having in in the flash forwards, we saw him struggling with alcohol.
• 49:30
SPEAKER_00: In the original timeline, we saw him on the verge of struggling with alcohol.
• 49:38
SPEAKER_00: And she the the mom asks how David was, saying that he was very upset at the funeral, and Jack says that he actually had no idea because communication is not one of David's strong suits.
• 49:52
SPEAKER_00: And he they they talk about Jack's relationship with his father and how he didn't communicate well with him because he was terrified of him.
• 50:02
SPEAKER_00: And his mom, Margot, says, Well, how do you know he's not terrified of you?
• 50:07
SPEAKER_00: Maybe you should ask him.
• 50:10
SPEAKER_00: They find the will, and when she opens it, she says, Uh, do you know anyone named Claire Littleton?
• 50:18
  SPEAKER_00: Dun dun dun.
• 50:22
SPEAKER_00: Jack gets back home, he brings pizza and drink It's like a six-pack, but it I mean, I would hope it's soda, because the kid looks like he's 13, so.
• 50:33
  SPEAKER_03: I mean, yeah.
• 50:34
SPEAKER_03: So if it was in Wisconsin, it'll be deer.
• 50:36
SPEAKER_03: I just want you to know that.
• 50:37
SPEAKER_00: Why am I not surprised?
• 50:40
SPEAKER_00: But anyway, Jack comes back home, he's got pizza, he's got some sodas, but David is not there.
• 50:47
SPEAKER_00: He calls, leaves him a message saying that he's sorry if he did anything to upset him.
• 50:52
SPEAKER_00: He's going to head over to his mother's house and says, if you're there, just please wait for me.
• 50:59
SPEAKER_00: He gets there, David's not there.
• 51:02
SPEAKER_00: He, you know, breaks into the house using the key under the rabbit.
• 51:07
SPEAKER_03: Is it really breaking in?
• 51:08
  SPEAKER_03: Okay, we'll go ahead.
• 51:09
  SPEAKER_00: Is it his house?
• 51:11
  SPEAKER_03: Fine.
• 51:13
  SPEAKER_00: Fine.
• 51:16
SPEAKER_00: While he's in while he's breaking and entering over in David's room, he sees sheet music for Chopin's Fantasy Impromptu.
• 51:30
SPEAKER_00: And he sees the photo booth shots of them in the mirror, and he gets all, you know, a little emotional while he's looking at them.
• 51:38
SPEAKER_00: He listens to two messages on his answering machine, and the first is from the conservatory confirming David's slot at 7 p.m.
• 51:48
SPEAKER_00: on Friday, and the other is from Jack in Sydney, where Jack is saying that something happened and he just needed to hear David's voice.
• 51:56
SPEAKER_00: Jack goes to the audition and he arrives while David is playing.
• 52:01
SPEAKER_00: David is playing the piano, he's playing that piece of music, and a boy comes up to him and says that David is really a good musician.
• 52:09
SPEAKER_00: And we see then he goes to leave and he's hugged by his father.
• 52:15
SPEAKER_00: When the father turns around, it's Dogan who comments that they're too young to have this kind of pressure.
• 52:24
SPEAKER_00: He says it's hard to watch and be unable to help.
• 52:27
SPEAKER_00: And he adds that David has a gift.
• 52:31
SPEAKER_00: He then asks, How long has David been playing?
• 52:33
SPEAKER_00: And Jack says he doesn't know.
• 52:37
  SPEAKER_00: Jack waits outside.
• 52:39
SPEAKER_00: David says that he made his mom promise not to tell Jack that he was still playing because Jack always made such a big deal of the piano playing.
• 52:46
SPEAKER_00: Now, can I say from my own perspective, that I totally get that?
• 52:55
SPEAKER_00: Because I have that kind of experience where like, especially with my dad, like when we did something and he was like so proud, but then it felt like there was so much pressure that it kind of made us not want to do it because we were like afraid to let I don't know.
• 53:17
SPEAKER_00: A lot when I was reading Linda's book, a lot of that came back.
• 53:23
SPEAKER_03: But I had the I don't want to say the reverse, but it was kind of the same.
• 53:30
SPEAKER_00: I think it was very supportive.
• 53:32
SPEAKER_00: It's just that you feel so much more pressure because there, you know, you just I don't know.
• 53:39
SPEAKER_00: I guess that's just the way I internalized it.
• 53:42
  SPEAKER_00: Same.
• 53:42
SPEAKER_03: I felt like I my mother never forced us to be perfect, but I felt that she was perfect, and I felt that I had to be perfect.
• 53:52
  SPEAKER_03: It was just weird.
• 53:53
SPEAKER_03: And at 40 something years old, I think just recently, like just now, recently, I'm like, it's I I got over that.
• 54:03
  SPEAKER_00: It's hard.
• 54:05
SPEAKER_00: It's really hard to unpack all that.
• 54:10
SPEAKER_00: But we actually talk about that in in that was our first spotlight episode.
• 54:15
SPEAKER_00: We talked about things like that.
• 54:18
SPEAKER_00: Anyway, David says he didn't tell Jack about the addition because he didn't want him to see him fail.
• 54:24
SPEAKER_00: And Jack says that he he relays it to his father, saying that his father didn't want to see him fail either, and that but also that Jack didn't have what it takes.
• 54:37
SPEAKER_00: So now we're tying it into what Jacob has said, but also how Jack has always carried that statement, you know, throughout his whole life, and he never wanted David to feel that way.
• 54:52
SPEAKER_00: He tells David that he loves him, and that in his eyes, David can never fail.
• 54:58
SPEAKER_00: So maybe Jack could be in the dead.
• 55:00
SPEAKER_03: And I still go back, like we look at Jack's like side flash, side, side, flash life, whatever.
• 55:08
  SPEAKER_03: You're like, oh, it's not a happy ending.
• 55:10
SPEAKER_03: But I think it's still a happy, like their lives so far are is still happy because they get chances to make it better.
• 55:19
SPEAKER_03: They still get their second chance, they still get their their healing, their their growth.
• 55:25
  SPEAKER_03: They get their growth.
• 55:27
SPEAKER_03: And that's the growth that Jack didn't take when he first came back on the island.
• 55:32
SPEAKER_03: He came back on the island.
• 55:33
SPEAKER_03: He decided, no, we'll go back to the island.
• 55:35
SPEAKER_03: I want to live a different life.
• 55:37
SPEAKER_03: This was an opportunity for him to grow from his mistakes and learn and be a better person.
• 55:43
  SPEAKER_03: That's why I think they're all dead.
• 55:44
  SPEAKER_03: Are they in purgatory?
• 55:47
SPEAKER_00: When Jack goes into David's room in the scene where he walks out on him, David has headphones in, and Jack asks him what's he listening to.
• 55:59
SPEAKER_00: And David says, Oh, you never heard of them.
• 56:02
SPEAKER_00: But in David's room, there's a poster for the band Meatcoat, and that band would have toured with Drive Shaft if Liam, you know, who's Charlie's brother, hadn't, you know, refused Charlie.
• 56:21
SPEAKER_00: Because I feel like at that moment you're like, oh, he's gonna say drive shaft.
• 56:26
SPEAKER_00: And he could have been, I don't know, but you know.
• 56:31
SPEAKER_00: The sign for David's recital reads, Welcome, all candidates.
• 56:36
  SPEAKER_03: Okay.
• 56:37
SPEAKER_00: The discovery of Shannon's inhaler is likely meant to serve as a payoff to the Comic Con 2009 question and answer session, in which Jorge Garcia approached the microphone and asked, What had happened to Shannon's inhaler?
• 56:53
SPEAKER_00: Presuming Sawyer didn't take it, to which Damon Lindelof and Carlton Hughes replied that it wasn't important enough to answer.
• 57:02
SPEAKER_00: So now they answered it, apparently.
• 57:06
  SPEAKER_00: Apparently.
• 57:08
SPEAKER_00: David's phone number has the 734 area code, which is the area code for Ann Arbor, Michigan.
• 57:16
  SPEAKER_03: Okay.
• 57:17
SPEAKER_00: Which why would a kid whose both parents live in LA have a 734 area code?
• 57:23
  SPEAKER_00: But okay.
• 57:23
SPEAKER_03: So apparently I'm assuming one of the writers lives in Ann Arbor, Michigan.
• 57:29
  SPEAKER_03: From Ann Arbor.
• 57:31
SPEAKER_00: Damon Lindelof's mother appears in a non-speaking role as one of the judges at David's performance.
• 57:37
SPEAKER_00: It's like, hey mom, you want to job?
• 57:41
SPEAKER_03: That would be so cool.
• 57:42
SPEAKER_00: This is the 108th produced hour of Lost, and obviously the number 108 has played an important role in not only the series, but in this episode.
• 57:53
SPEAKER_00: The skeletons, nicknamed Adam and Eve, appear for the first time since season one episode House of the Rising Sun, a 101 episode break.
• 58:05
SPEAKER_03: I need that kind of break.
• 58:09
SPEAKER_00: What do you make of the names on the cave and then on the wheel in the lighthouse?
• 58:16
  SPEAKER_00: Do you have any?
• 58:17
  SPEAKER_03: Well, obviously, it's obvious.
• 58:20
SPEAKER_03: So whatever angle they are, like they get like the angle 23, number 23.
• 58:26
SPEAKER_03: And with that angle, with all 20 degrees, 23 degrees, I see Jack's house.
• 58:32
SPEAKER_03: I don't know if that's his number or not.
• 58:34
  SPEAKER_03: So he's attached to 23.
• 58:37
SPEAKER_03: You know, that's so it depends what angle is you could see that person's life.
• 58:44
  SPEAKER_03: You know, yeah, yeah.
• 58:46
  SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
• 58:46
  SPEAKER_03: Okay, that's it.
• 58:47
  SPEAKER_03: No more thoughts.
• 58:48
SPEAKER_00: Okay, but then but what but I guess what I'm asking is then what's the relevance?
• 58:53
SPEAKER_00: The numbers are in the cave, the numbers are on that wheel.
• 58:58
SPEAKER_03: Those are all but once they're all candidates, so he needs to be able to watch them.
• 59:02
  SPEAKER_03: So he's a voyeur, got it.
• 59:04
  SPEAKER_03: Nice.
• 59:08
SPEAKER_03: We all like to be a little bit of a hoo-hoo sometimes.
• 59:12
SPEAKER_00: There's a lot of scenes in this episode with reflections.
• 59:16
SPEAKER_00: In the beginning, we see Jack with in the mirror looking at his appendectomy scar.
• 59:22
SPEAKER_00: He's sitting at the water looking at his reflection in the water.
• 59:28
SPEAKER_00: There's the scene where he's in his son's room and he's looking at the photos and himself in the mirror.
• 59:36
SPEAKER_00: They see themselves in the lighthouse mirrors.
• 59:40
SPEAKER_03: I think it's an episode of reflection.
• 59:44
  SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
• 59:46
SPEAKER_03: Obviously, literally, but also figuratively.
• 59:49
SPEAKER_00: Obviously, we get another Star Wars mention.
• 59:52
  SPEAKER_03: Do we?
• 59:54
SPEAKER_00: Yes, because he calls Jacob Obi-Wan Kenobi.
• 59:56
  SPEAKER_03: Oh, that's right.
• 59:57
  SPEAKER_00: Help me, Obi-Wan Kenobi.
• 59:59
  SPEAKER_00: You're my only hope.
• 1:00:01
SPEAKER_03: Even I know that reference.
• 1:00:04
SPEAKER_00: Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom.
• 1:00:07
SPEAKER_00: Hurley tells Dogen that, you know, when he's trying to cover for why he's in those hallways, he says, I'm a fan of temples and like history.
• 1:00:19
SPEAKER_00: You know, Indiana Jones stuff.
• 1:00:22
  SPEAKER_00: Indiana Jones stuff.
• 1:00:25
SPEAKER_00: Alice in Wonderland makes another appearance.
• 1:00:28
  SPEAKER_00: The book is there.
• 1:00:31
SPEAKER_00: And then there's also the rabbit that the key was under.
• 1:00:36
SPEAKER_00: Oh, and the remark about Dogen, I'll chop off your head.
• 1:00:40
  SPEAKER_00: Off with this head.
• 1:00:44
SPEAKER_00: I need to go watch that movie again.
• 1:00:45
SPEAKER_00: It's one of my favorite movies ever.
• 1:00:48
SPEAKER_00: According to this, there's a reference to The Who.
• 1:00:52
SPEAKER_00: There's a large black and white poster of the British band The Who in David's room.
• 1:00:57
SPEAKER_00: In The Who's Tommy in the song Smash the Mirror, Tommy is awakened from catatonia when his mother smashes the mirror into which he is staring.
• 1:01:08
SPEAKER_00: So we get another reflection mirror reference.
• 1:01:12
SPEAKER_00: And also literally smashing the mirror, which is what Jack went on to do.
• 1:01:18
  SPEAKER_00: Prester John.
• 1:01:20
SPEAKER_00: The mirror at the top of Jacob's lighthouse is identical to the description of a mirror owned by the mythical Christian king Prester John, which allowed him to survey all the lands under his domain.
• 1:01:32
SPEAKER_00: Prester John featured heavily in Borolino by Umberto Echo, who was previously alluded to in the episode 316, 316.
• 1:01:45
  SPEAKER_00: But I just I don't know.
• 1:01:46
SPEAKER_00: I I tend to just say numbers like individually.
• 1:01:48
  SPEAKER_00: But anyway.
• 1:01:53
SPEAKER_00: You know, she was so easygoing and kind, and now we see Claire with the rifle.
• 1:02:01
SPEAKER_00: She killed somebody, she threatened to kill somebody else.
• 1:02:05
SPEAKER_00: I guess the jungle will do that to you.
• 1:02:07
  SPEAKER_03: But so was Rousseau.
• 1:02:10
SPEAKER_03: She was kind and soft, and she was, you know, Claire is a new Rousseau.
• 1:02:18
SPEAKER_00: There's the idea of light and dark that spans through the course of the series.
• 1:02:25
SPEAKER_00: And so when it comes to the names, the candidates, one set of names is in a dark cave, and the other set of names is in a lighthouse.
• 1:02:36
SPEAKER_00: But I think weren't all the names in both.
• 1:02:41
SPEAKER_00: Yes, but but my point is that set same set sets of same set of names.
• 1:02:47
SPEAKER_00: Oh, the fact that they're in both cave.
• 1:02:49
  SPEAKER_00: Okay, the fun okay.
• 1:02:49
SPEAKER_00: And the other is in a lighthouse.
• 1:02:51
SPEAKER_00: So you got the light versus dark.
• 1:02:52
SPEAKER_03: And it's okay, so here's my question now.
• 1:02:55
SPEAKER_03: Locked to man in, I'm gonna call him man in black.
• 1:02:58
SPEAKER_03: He takes dude to the cave version.
• 1:03:04
SPEAKER_03: Jacob takes him to the lighthouse version.
• 1:03:07
SPEAKER_03: So I feel like they're both tracking the same people for different purposes.
• 1:03:14
SPEAKER_03: So that's like so the Man in Black's version is this one, and I have my hands up.
• 1:03:18
SPEAKER_03: I talk with my hands, and you really need to watch us, but this won't be watchable because we're all in pajamas.
• 1:03:23
  SPEAKER_00: Yep.
• 1:03:24
SPEAKER_00: So I got you gonna say, watch us, but you can't.
• 1:03:27
SPEAKER_03: Like you really should watch me.
• 1:03:29
SPEAKER_00: You really should, but you can't.
• 1:03:30
  SPEAKER_03: You can't.
• 1:03:33
SPEAKER_03: Okay, so they're two different, they're the lists by two different people.
• 1:03:38
SPEAKER_03: I just assume that they were written by the same person until now.
• 1:03:42
  SPEAKER_03: Thank you, Lisa.
• 1:03:43
SPEAKER_03: Well, that's my new that's my new thought.
• 1:03:46
  SPEAKER_03: All right, okay.
• 1:03:48
SPEAKER_00: The scar that Claire shows, remember she says she was branded.
• 1:03:53
  SPEAKER_00: Mm-hmm.
• 1:03:54
SPEAKER_00: But remember, we saw them do that to Saeed.
• 1:03:57
  SPEAKER_03: Said.
• 1:03:57
SPEAKER_03: So I totally believe she got kidnapped and she escaped.
• 1:04:01
SPEAKER_03: She was because I don't because we're all like, why would Claire leave her baby?
• 1:04:04
SPEAKER_03: Why would Claire leave her baby?
• 1:04:06
  SPEAKER_03: Claire dead.
• 1:04:07
SPEAKER_03: Honestly, that's the only reason, like that's the only logical explanation for her leaving her baby.
• 1:04:13
SPEAKER_03: But she, you know, she might as well have been.
• 1:04:15
SPEAKER_03: She got kidnapped and tortured and whatever.
• 1:04:19
  SPEAKER_00: Okay.
• 1:04:21
SPEAKER_00: Anything else before we wrap up this episode?
• 1:04:25
  SPEAKER_00: I don't think so.
• 1:04:27
  SPEAKER_00: Okay.
• 1:04:28
SPEAKER_00: Next episode is episode six, sundown.
• 1:04:33
SPEAKER_00: You want to guess who is gonna focus on?
• 1:04:36
SPEAKER_03: Uh me, because usually by the time in the episode I'm sundowning.
• 1:04:41
  SPEAKER_03: Let's see.
• 1:04:42
  SPEAKER_03: Um, sun.
• 1:04:45
  SPEAKER_00: You'd think so, wouldn't you?
• 1:04:46
  SPEAKER_00: Now it's Said.
• 1:04:47
  SPEAKER_03: Really?
• 1:04:48
SPEAKER_03: Because I'm thinking Sundown, Land of the Rising Sunday.
• 1:04:50
  SPEAKER_03: I know you think it's yeah, it's Said.
• 1:04:53
  SPEAKER_03: Oh, that's Japan.
• 1:04:53
  SPEAKER_03: That's Japan.
• 1:04:54
  SPEAKER_03: Oh unacceptable.
• 1:04:57
SPEAKER_03: How dare they trick me?
• 1:04:59
  SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
• 1:05:00
  SPEAKER_00: I got you.
• 1:05:01
  SPEAKER_00: Okay, anyway.
• 1:05:03
  SPEAKER_02: I need new friends.
• 1:05:06
SPEAKER_00: All right, next episode, Sundown.
• 1:05:10
  SPEAKER_00: Don't drink and drive, stuff.com.
• 1:05:12
  SPEAKER_00: Text us stuff.
• 1:05:15
SPEAKER_00: And until next time, I'm Lisa.
• 1:05:18
  SPEAKER_00: And I'm Agnes.
• 1:05:19
SPEAKER_00: And we're out of here.
• 1:05:20
  SPEAKER_00: See you later.
• 1:05:21
  SPEAKER_00: Bye.
