- 0:04Speaker 1: one washem.
- 0:05Speaker 2: Apologies in Advance from the Toby and Appath to Toby
- 0:07Speaker 2: and Chili in the Morning ninety seven point one wash FM,
- 0:11Speaker 2: Washington's variety from the eighties nineties. Today Chile, I have
- 0:13Speaker 2: to admit I'm feeling a little fatigued today. The routine
- 0:19Speaker 2: of the schedule is setting in and my body is
- 0:22Speaker 2: reminding me that you're three days back into a routine
- 0:26Speaker 2: you weren't in for two months because you were out
- 0:28Speaker 2: on medical leap. Yes, and now I'm like, I'm panting,
- 0:31Speaker 2: I'm like out of breath.
- 0:32Speaker 3: Yeah, Nomy, I get it. Your knee is still slow
- 0:36Speaker 3: to recover. But you did share some good news with
- 0:38Speaker 3: me in a textas.
- 0:39Speaker 2: Yea earlier this morning I sent you a OT. I'm like,
- 0:41Speaker 2: I was discharged from occupational therapy. By the way, did
- 0:45Speaker 2: you know occupational therapy has nothing to do with occupations?
- 0:48Speaker 2: I did? I mean, who knew?
- 0:50Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 0:50Speaker 2: But I found out yesterday. I was talking to Brittany,
- 0:52Speaker 2: who was my therapist over at Adventist Healthcare, the rehabilitation
- 0:57Speaker 2: hospital in Rockville, and She's like, would you mind too
- 1:00Speaker 2: much if we started you today and I go I
- 1:02Speaker 2: She's like, I don't think there's anything else that I
- 1:05Speaker 2: can teach you. Oh good, there's nothing else that you.
- 1:07Speaker 3: You're more independent now than you were a few weeks ago,
- 1:10Speaker 3: and that's why you've got now. You still have pete physical.
- 1:13Speaker 2: Oh yeah, yeah, physical therapy. The knee's not out of
- 1:15Speaker 2: the woods yet. But as far as taking a bath
- 1:18Speaker 2: in a shower by myself, I'm good to go. Even
- 1:21Speaker 2: standing up in the shower good. Very far as being
- 1:23Speaker 2: able to get around, I know what I need. I
- 1:25Speaker 2: know what my limitations are. In fact, they use my limitations.
- 1:28Speaker 2: Coming up this morning, I'm like, don't rush, take your time,
- 1:31Speaker 2: don't worry about a time clock. You don't need to
- 1:34Speaker 2: worry about it. You have a viable excuse. And I'm like, okay,
- 1:38Speaker 2: So I just kind of slowed down because I felt
- 1:39Speaker 2: myself rushing.
- 1:41Speaker 3: Well, you could just get up earlier, and that'll well, no,
- 1:43Speaker 3: there was that, well, I was up early.
- 1:44Speaker 2: But it's just everything that I do is going to
- 1:47Speaker 2: take extra time. That's one of the things I have
- 1:49Speaker 2: to keep in mind is that until I'm back to
- 1:53Speaker 2: one hundred percent with two legs that work fine, instead
- 1:56Speaker 2: of one knee. That's crazy. I just have to breathe
- 2:00Speaker 2: and enjoy the ride that is life and see all
- 2:03Speaker 2: of the fun things that pass by. I mean, so
- 2:06Speaker 2: here we are today, chilly. Why are you feeling good today?
- 2:08Speaker 3: Well, just real quickly, it's a week before Thanksgiving, so

- 19:42Speaker 2: There's a new sleep craze online. Maybe you've heard of
- 19:45Speaker 2: the trend of the potato bed trend Toby and Chili
- 19:48Speaker 2: in the morning. It is ninety seven point one Wash FM.
- 19:51Speaker 2: Have you wrapped up in a potato bed? Maybe you're going,
- 19:54Speaker 2: what are they talking about? Potatoes in my bed? No chili?
- 19:57Speaker 2: Why don't you tell us what is involved in this
- 19:59Speaker 2: new trend that's got everybody talking this week.
- 20:01Speaker 3: You flip a fitted sheet upside down, and then you
- 20:04Speaker 3: stuff the edges of that fitted sheet with pillows and
- 20:07Speaker 3: blankets and basically turn it into a very large human
- 20:13Speaker 3: nest on top of your bed. It looks cozy. People
- 20:16Speaker 3: say it feels like a warm hug. I look at
- 20:19Speaker 3: that and I think how hot can one get? I
- 20:21Speaker 3: mean it would be sweating so bad, covered and surrounded
- 20:26Speaker 3: by all that cushioning.
- 20:28Speaker 2: Yeah, that's right. You got to keep your heads up
- 20:29Speaker 2: because all those layers they trap heat. The extra softness,
- 20:33Speaker 2: it might mess with your back or neck. So you know,
- 20:36Speaker 2: if you get up sores sweaty, don't blame us. You
- 20:38Speaker 2: chose to follow the trend about the potato bed gimmick.
- 20:41Speaker 2: And I first read about this and dug into it.
- 20:44Speaker 2: I kept coming back to the thought of getting into
- 20:46Speaker 2: a freshly made bed.
- 20:47Speaker 3: Well, you would have to freshly make this potato thing
- 20:50Speaker 3: on top of your bed. Yeah, the fitted sheet and
- 20:52Speaker 3: everything and getting in and out of that, and it's
- 20:55Speaker 3: just another whole layer to make. But this is obviously
- 20:59Speaker 3: looking on TikTok. A lot of the younger generation doing this.
- 21:02Speaker 3: If they want to do this, I've at it. If
- 21:04Speaker 3: it helps you sleep, by all means, do whatever you
- 21:07Speaker 3: gotta do to get a good night.
- 21:08Speaker 2: So I wonder if my daughter's doing that. That's why
- 21:10Speaker 2: she sleeps all day now that she's a college graduate
- 21:12Speaker 2: and not looking for a gig. She's just potato betting
- 21:15Speaker 2: all day. Who do want to see what this potato
- 21:18Speaker 2: beds all about. We've got everything you need on the
- 21:20Speaker 2: Toby and Chili page at washfm dot com. Speaking of
- 21:24Speaker 2: my daughter, we had a very substantial talk this week.
- 21:29Speaker 2: It was actually one of the best talks we've had
- 21:32Speaker 2: about entering into the workforce, not being afraid to enter
- 21:36Speaker 2: into the workforce, and more. This might be something you
- 21:40Speaker 2: can relate to if you have someone in your household
- 21:43Speaker 2: who has just graduated from college or university. We'll get
- 21:46Speaker 2: into this coming up in just a few minutes. Toby

- 22:02Speaker 2: three sixty one, or tap to talk back microphone if
- 22:04Speaker 2: you're listening to us on your iHeartRadio app. Chili, why
- 22:07Speaker 2: don't you recap that text that I sent you the
- 22:09Speaker 2: other day about a conversation with my daughter.
- 22:11Speaker 3: You were talking to her about having her apply for
- 22:15Speaker 3: jobs and using connections through her school Emerson to get
- 22:20Speaker 3: something in the creative writing field, which is what she
- 22:24Speaker 3: has a degree in.
- 22:25Speaker 2: And I feel like she's a bit dejected, because, yeah,
- 22:27Speaker 2: it's a tough time in the world, and I think
- 22:30Speaker 2: she's feeling probably little poopy pants, a little bummed she didn't,
- 22:34Speaker 2: you know, get a job at like even a Starbucks
- 22:36Speaker 2: or a target, And I'm like, well, Kyla, you know,
- 22:38Speaker 2: don't let no stop you from going after your future.
- 22:42Speaker 2: I'm trying to raise Kyla Chili the way I was raised.
- 22:46Speaker 2: My parents supported my half cocked idea that radio would
- 22:51Speaker 2: be something. Twenty something years later, it's worked out. Okay,
- 22:54Speaker 2: knock on wood. That's what I'm trying to do with Kyla.
- 22:57Speaker 2: Writings are passion, But I can't get her through through
- 23:00Speaker 2: the door.
- 23:00Speaker 5: No.
- 23:00Speaker 3: And that's a very good rule to pass on to
- 23:02Speaker 3: your own kids, Like, I can only do so much.
- 23:05Speaker 3: And it's great that you're supporting her, but she's got
- 23:08Speaker 3: to do the hustling and she's got to do the
- 23:10Speaker 3: connecting and networking. You can't. You can't save her from this.
- 23:14Speaker 2: You can't steel her around, you know. And boy, it's
- 23:17Speaker 2: tough being a parent, isn't it, because you want the
- 23:19Speaker 2: best for your kids.
- 23:20Speaker 3: Yeah, But the.
- 23:21Speaker 2: Best for your kids isn't doing I don't think everything
- 23:24Speaker 2: for them.
- 23:24Speaker 3: No, And your parents did it right, I mean, they
- 23:26Speaker 3: supported your passion and they let you figure it out yourself.
- 23:30Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 23:30Speaker 2: I didn't really think that they were supporting me when
- 23:32Speaker 2: they booted me out of their unfinished basements in the
- 23:34Speaker 2: Pocono Mountains to get my life started. But you know
