- 0:41Speaker 2: Dan Gable, I know he's out there. We got him
- 0:43Speaker 2: in this box, but I'm sure he's tuned in right now.

- 0:56Speaker 1: a boy. We have an AGAP successor coming to the family.
- 1:00Speaker 1: Fingers crossed. We're 14 weeks right now. Fired the hell up. Yeah.
- 1:08Speaker 1: The internet. The seance worked. The seance worked. The seance.
- 1:12Speaker 1: The science worked. The science worked. The science worked. Well,
- 1:19Speaker 1: I think the entire world is excited for this boy.
- 1:23Speaker 1: I don't think I've ever seen the internet truly come
- 1:27Speaker 1: together like that. The amount of 2044 better get ready.
- 1:34Speaker 1: Huskers got themselves a linebacker, baby.
- 1:36Speaker 2: We're talking NIL. Not to place expectation on the young man.
- 1:41Speaker 2: His dad's excited.
- 1:42Speaker 1: I know that. I could sit here and tell you
- 1:46Speaker 1: all about how excited I am and just the knowing,
- 1:51Speaker 1: like the hard part of sitting down and doing episodes
- 1:54Speaker 1: and knowing that this was eventually going to be announced
- 1:58Speaker 1: and being so excited for you. I would just love
- 2:01Speaker 1: to hear you talk about your excitement.
- 2:04Speaker 2: Well, my excitement, number one, welcome to For the Dads.
- 2:07Speaker 2: We talk about the highs and lows of fatherhood. If

- 2:20Speaker 2: were asking my experience?
- 2:23Speaker 1: Yeah, your experience and your excitement. Excitement is high. Yeah.
- 2:27Speaker 2: Experience, my wife, like we collabed on her Instagram post yesterday.
- 2:32Speaker 2: My wife kind of shared... You know, the stuff that's,
- 2:35Speaker 2: that's going on, having this boy, like we miscarried, she
- 2:38Speaker 2: miscarried last year around this time. I remember, um, she
- 2:42Speaker 2: showed me the pregnancy test, like on my birthday, fired up,
- 2:46Speaker 2: told a couple of you, but it was early in
- 2:47Speaker 2: the game. And she miscarried around seven, eight weeks. And
- 2:54Speaker 2: so that experience obviously is no fun. I know there's
- 2:58Speaker 2: a lot of parents out there who have experienced a
- 3:02Speaker 2: tragedy like that.
- 3:03Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah. And it takes a toll.
- 3:04Speaker 2: I know this, like, It was kind of, it was
- 3:07Speaker 2: a surprise to us because we didn't know if we
- 3:09Speaker 2: wanted a third. Scotty was an IVF baby. And it
- 3:13Speaker 2: was more of like the conversation was, does my wife
- 3:16Speaker 2: want to, does she want to do IVF again? Because
- 3:18Speaker 2: it's fully, you know, it's not me carrying the child.
- 3:21Speaker 2: It's not me going through all the, the, the injections
- 3:23Speaker 2: and everything else that have to take place in IVF.
- 3:26Speaker 2: And she's older too. So that's, that's kind of the
- 3:28Speaker 2: formula or the journey we would need to go on.
- 3:31Speaker 2: We got lucky when we realized that we were, that
- 3:34Speaker 2: we were pregnant. unfortunately it didn't happen. That moment basically
- 3:39Speaker 2: told us we knew we wanted to have a third. And, um, so,
- 3:44Speaker 2: and again, my wife, she's not getting any younger, not to,
- 3:46Speaker 2: you know, I'm not, that's not a, that's not you
- 3:48Speaker 2: taking a stray while you listen to the car right now, sweetheart. Um,
- 3:52Speaker 2: so we tried for a little bit longer and then we've, we've, um,
- 3:56Speaker 2: we went the IVF route for this one as well.
- 3:59Speaker 2: Scotty was IVF. This one is IVF. And going through
- 4:03Speaker 2: that process, you're kind of just, it's fingers crossed the
- 4:05Speaker 2: whole time. Like when we announced a part of her
- 4:07Speaker 2: was wanting to, she's like, have you told anybody? I
- 4:10Speaker 2: was like, dude, I haven't even really told my dad
- 4:12Speaker 2: or my brothers or my family. Like I've no, I
- 4:14Speaker 2: know I've told a few people here because it's like,
- 4:16Speaker 2: you know, when my wife is going through whatever process
- 4:18Speaker 2: she's going through, through IVF, it's like, I'm keeping guys
- 4:21Speaker 2: posted and updated for what could be going on. whether, hey,
- 4:24Speaker 2: here's how the emotional vibe is at home right now,
- 4:26Speaker 2: letting guys, you know, sharing with a couple buddies like
- 4:29Speaker 2: in our circle here at the shop.
- 4:31Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah.
- 4:32Speaker 2: And so it's like it's fingers crossed throughout that entire
- 4:35Speaker 2: process because when you experience the whole miscarriage thing, then
- 4:39Speaker 2: you're back in the saddle for IVF. Like it's constant
- 4:43Speaker 2: steps in IVF. You're hopeful that you are fortunate to
- 4:50Speaker 2: have a child, your first go around throughout the process
- 4:52Speaker 2: of IVF. Because we have friends that they're not successful
- 4:56Speaker 2: through the first round of IVF. They got to do
- 4:57Speaker 2: it multiple times. And then they experienced the miscarriages and
- 5:01Speaker 2: everything else. So it's like the injection start, all of
- 5:04Speaker 2: that happens. And I know we're going to have our
- 5:05Speaker 2: wives on at some point. My wife and I did
- 5:07Speaker 2: an IVF podcast last Mother's Day on the bus with
- 5:10Speaker 2: the boys channel. If you want to go, if you
- 5:12Speaker 2: want to go listen to that. And we kind of
- 5:13Speaker 2: just talked about the entire journey because IVF, it's very
- 5:15Speaker 2: much like a taboo conversation. Until then you start sharing
- 5:19Speaker 2: with buddies and then you realize friends go through it
- 5:21Speaker 2: and you have some commonalities with people. And then you
- 5:25Speaker 2: start connecting over that to realize like, oh man, this
- 5:27Speaker 2: is a little bit more common than I thought it was.
- 5:31Speaker 2: And to get back into answering your question about the experience,
- 5:33Speaker 2: it's like you do the injections, then you see how
- 5:37Speaker 2: many eggs you get from that process. Then with the eggs,
- 5:41Speaker 2: like how many are viable embryos or viable eggs? And
- 5:45Speaker 2: then it's, you know, after testing from that happens, you know,
- 5:48Speaker 2: you want to hit a certain number. How many are
- 5:50Speaker 2: we going to have? Then there's like a handful that
- 5:53Speaker 2: we got out of our, out of her cycle. And
- 5:55Speaker 2: then from there it's, you know, you chip, you get
- 6:00Speaker 2: them graded. And so then like last time with Scotty,
- 6:03Speaker 2: Scotty was all of the other embryos had like a
- 6:07Speaker 2: chromosome deficiency, right? So what that means is we get
- 6:12Speaker 2: that news while Scotty is already implanted in Charo. So
- 6:15Speaker 2: you get the news that all the other embryos are
- 6:18Speaker 2: chromosome deficient. That gives you a little scare because what
- 6:21Speaker 2: happens is the chromosome deficiency is one of three things,
- 6:25Speaker 2: three things happen. The most probable result is a miscarriage.
- 6:31Speaker 2: Then there is a chromosome deficiency. Or the female body
- 6:35Speaker 2: corrects it while it's in the uterus.
- 6:36Speaker 1: Yep.
- 6:37Speaker 2: So knowing those risk factors that go in, you don't
- 6:39Speaker 2: use the, you're not using the embryos that are there.
- 6:42Speaker 2: So we went through another cycle to where we're getting
- 6:44Speaker 2: those embryos graded. And then when those embryos come back,
- 6:48Speaker 2: it's like, uh, we had like, um, I'm going to
- 6:51Speaker 2: get an APR report on this from the wifey, but
- 6:54Speaker 2: I want to say we had four, four or five
- 6:57Speaker 2: embryos that were graded well. And so from there, it's like,
- 7:01Speaker 2: you got the, you have, uh, the boy and then
- 7:04Speaker 2: you have the girls. There was one boy and that's
- 7:09Speaker 2: obviously the one that your boy was wanting. And her too,
- 7:12Speaker 2: like she wanted a boy as well. Like we love
- 7:14Speaker 2: our daughters, but I've always like since a young cat
- 7:17Speaker 2: running around on the football field, like you want every
- 7:20Speaker 2: man wants a son.
- 7:22Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 7:23Speaker 2: And so knowing we had one opportunity at the sun,
- 7:25Speaker 2: it's like, again, still fingers crossed. Like you go in
- 7:29Speaker 2: And you can't experience milestones the way you would normally
- 7:31Speaker 2: experience milestones in like a natural pregnancy. Because in a
- 7:35Speaker 2: natural pregnancy, like you see a positive, you see a
- 7:38Speaker 2: positive test. And if you haven't had a miscarriage or
- 7:39Speaker 2: anything else, it's a high moment.
- 7:41Speaker 1: Yeah. You're excited.
- 7:42Speaker 2: Then you get to where you see the ultrasound for
- 7:44Speaker 2: the first time, or you're doing all these doctor visits
- 7:46Speaker 2: to where everything is progressing well.
- 7:48Speaker 1: So it's nothing but excitement, excitement, excitement. When you're going
- 7:51Speaker 1: through this process.
- 7:52Speaker 2: And you've done it before, you've had a miscarriage now,
- 7:54Speaker 2: there's no feeling of a milestone anymore. Anytime it happens,
- 7:58Speaker 2: talking from my own personal, my experience, my vantage point
- 8:01Speaker 2: from the whole thing, I'm sure trial feels the same way,
- 8:04Speaker 2: but I want to put words in her mouth.
- 8:05Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 8:06Speaker 2: Um, but it's fingers crossed every step of the way.
- 8:08Speaker 2: So then you have, Hey, we're going to, we're going
- 8:11Speaker 2: to implant the boy. And then you go in and
- 8:14Speaker 2: have the ultrasound to where the operation runs to where
- 8:15Speaker 2: they want to implant inside the uterus.
- 8:17Speaker 1: Well, then when you implant it successful, it's successful. We're,
- 8:20Speaker 1: we're fired the boy where, you know, the.
- 8:23Speaker 2: Um, implantation process was successful but then you sit back
- 8:27Speaker 2: and it's like well now you got to wait and
- 8:28Speaker 2: see if it sticks so then you got to wait
- 8:30Speaker 2: a few days to see to see if the the
- 8:33Speaker 2: embryo or the egg sticks inside of the uterus then
- 8:37Speaker 2: after that it's like okay you'll come back after another
- 8:38Speaker 2: week or the next couple weeks there might be an
- 8:40Speaker 2: injection or two left but everything doesn't feel like an
- 8:44Speaker 2: exciting milestone it feels more like okay we got through
- 8:46Speaker 2: that step now we got this next step.
- 8:48Speaker 1: A finger cross milestone. A fingers crossed milestone every time.
- 8:51Speaker 2: So then when it was eight weeks, it's like you
- 8:52Speaker 2: get to that seven or eight week mark, then it's
- 8:54Speaker 2: like nerves because of the experience last year. Then you
- 8:58Speaker 2: get to, you know, 10 weeks. I know miscarriages drop
- 9:01Speaker 2: dramatically around that point, but then you're still like, okay,
- 9:04Speaker 2: you want to get to the next step. Then you
- 9:07Speaker 2: get to 12 to where it drops off dramatically.
- 9:09Speaker 1: Okay.
- 9:10Speaker 2: But you still want to get to the next step
- 9:11Speaker 2: because in the back of my mind, you know, people
- 9:12Speaker 2: miscarry even beyond, even beyond that. Um, so nothing has
- 9:18Speaker 2: ever felt like the excitement, like I'm fully bought into
- 9:21Speaker 2: where that this is happening. Um, so, uh, telling people,
- 9:27Speaker 2: telling people yesterday after we've told everybody else telling people yesterday,
- 9:31Speaker 2: cause Charles has been wanting to, because she had just
- 9:33Speaker 2: hasn't been herself, like her full self for over a.
- 9:36Speaker 1: Month because the nausea. It's knocked her down, bro.
- 9:40Speaker 2: Like, you know, in a way to where she's operating
- 9:42Speaker 2: her business, she's being around clients and running classes, having
- 9:46Speaker 2: to have people cover for her. She hasn't been able
- 9:48Speaker 2: to tell everybody. She knows she hasn't been the best
- 9:50Speaker 2: version of herself. She feels awful about it. She feels
- 9:53Speaker 2: like she can't, you know, she's not adding all the
- 9:56Speaker 2: value she would love to at home. And even when
- 9:58Speaker 2: she is, she's just not feeling comfortable. like herself. So
- 10:02Speaker 2: that makes her feel very isolated, alone.
- 10:04Speaker 1: And everything else.
- 10:05Speaker 2: So now that we've kind of told, we've kind of
- 10:07Speaker 2: told everybody we've wanted to tell, we've posted about, we
- 10:10Speaker 2: told the world, we're publicly like, I know she feels
- 10:13Speaker 2: a little bit of weight off her shoulders because she's
- 10:15Speaker 2: gotten to tell her community of people that are now
- 10:18Speaker 2: able to, you know, she'll feel better about people putting
- 10:20Speaker 2: their arm around her and everything else to where she's
- 10:22Speaker 2: just now, it's almost like a, that type a person
- 10:25Speaker 2: that's a grinder and loves to just be that person
- 10:28Speaker 2: for everybody all the time. She just hasn't felt, been
- 10:31Speaker 2: able to feel that way. She hasn't shared.
- 10:33Speaker 1: Um, And there's an understanding now of why. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 10:38Speaker 2: Through all the process and everything else going on. But
- 10:41Speaker 2: now that we are here, it's like fingers are still crossed.
- 10:43Speaker 2: Could use all the positive vibes in the world.
- 10:45Speaker 4: Of course.
- 10:46Speaker 2: Very obviously your boy is very excited about having a boy.
- 10:51Speaker 2: I'm very excited. There's still a part of me that's like,
- 10:55Speaker 2: it's got to get.
- 10:57Speaker 1: You never feel... I don't know. Yeah. I don't know.
- 11:00Speaker 2: It's like the part of me is not allowing myself
- 11:03Speaker 2: to like... You put all the expectation, all your excitement
- 11:06Speaker 2: and everything like happening.
- 11:07Speaker 1: It's happening. It's happening.
- 11:10Speaker 2: And then the off chance that it doesn't, it's, I
- 11:12Speaker 2: hate setting myself up to just be like completely, you know, defeated.
- 11:18Speaker 1: Yes. You know what I mean? Yes.
- 11:20Speaker 2: Cause you just don't, you do, we don't know what
- 11:22Speaker 2: we're going to do. Like this could be the last,
- 11:24Speaker 2: shall we? Like if we get a third, like we
- 11:25Speaker 2: know that we're done.
- 11:26Speaker 1: Yeah. And she knows that like, you know, I've always
- 11:29Speaker 1: been like, you know, you have, you have the, you
- 11:32Speaker 1: have another girl. It's like, Oh, I'm just, They're just
- 11:35Speaker 1: dominating my life. You want that masculinity. Yeah. You have
- 11:41Speaker 1: very much like a weight on you. And I don't
- 11:46Speaker 1: mean that in a bad way. Like, I just know
- 11:50Speaker 1: your heart on this. I am going to try very
- 11:53Speaker 1: hard not to well up when I say this. But
- 11:56Speaker 1: just knowing you.
- 12:00Speaker 1: Every guy out there wants a son. They want their boy.
- 12:04Speaker 1: But I don't think I've ever met somebody that has
- 12:08Speaker 1: wanted it more than Will Compton and talks about it
- 12:12Speaker 1: like Will does. We'll just be talking football and then
- 12:15Speaker 1: all of a sudden it gets to him and then
- 12:17Speaker 1: talking about like his high school days because we're talking
- 12:21Speaker 1: just football in high school days. Man, you don't got
- 12:24Speaker 1: to get that boy. Like you would just like work
- 12:27Speaker 1: it into conversations.
- 12:28Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 12:29Speaker 1: Um, the part that makes me so excited is truly
- 12:35Speaker 1: the like evidence from the internet of how many people
- 12:39Speaker 1: are excited for you because you have wanted this.
- 12:42Speaker 2: I had Joey McGuire text me saying he's going to
- 12:45Speaker 2: look great in red and black, Texas Tech red and black.
- 12:48Speaker 2: And then I'm sitting there, I'm doing all the AI
- 12:50Speaker 2: images and everything else. I'm like, I'm putting a pretty
- 12:52Speaker 2: hardcore expectation on him. I said I would not do that.
- 12:57Speaker 1: To that point, like you, you are such a great dad.
- 13:03Speaker 1: You are, um, by the way, I'm obsessed with my daughters.
- 13:07Speaker 1: He is obsessed with his daughter.
- 13:09Speaker 2: The stuff I was writing caption wise yesterday, people are like, Oh,
- 13:13Speaker 2: your bloodline doesn't exist.
- 13:14Speaker 1: Cause you, you have two girls. What are you talking about?
- 13:16Speaker 1: It's like, I miss me with that. Yes. He is
- 13:20Speaker 1: obsessed with his daughters, but for the people that aren't
- 13:23Speaker 1: like in the office every day, Will is so purposeful.
- 13:28Speaker 1: With his parenting, but with his teaching and coaching. And
- 13:34Speaker 1: I think that your son is so lucky to not
- 13:39Speaker 1: only have Charo as a mom and Rue as and
- 13:44Speaker 1: Scotty as sisters, but holy cow, he has no idea
- 13:49Speaker 1: the dad that he's getting and the intentionality and how
- 13:53Speaker 1: much you're going to pour into him. The amount of
- 13:56Speaker 1: times that I sit across from you and you're talking
- 13:59Speaker 1: to me like a football coach, and I know that
- 14:01Speaker 1: you're my boss, but bosses don't really sit there and
- 14:05Speaker 1: break stuff down for somebody and get to know the
- 14:08Speaker 1: heart behind something and really want to coach them because
- 14:11Speaker 1: they want to see them be better. like your want
- 14:15Speaker 1: to make people better and to teach them and coach them,
- 14:19Speaker 1: your son is so lucky. And I think that, um,
- 14:24Speaker 1: it's just going to be a beautiful thing that you
- 14:26Speaker 1: get to enjoy so much, uh, masculinity, like man stuff
- 14:33Speaker 1: with your son that I know that you love. You
- 14:36Speaker 1: will get to share those things that you love with him.
- 14:40Speaker 1: And we don't know what your son's going to be
- 14:43Speaker 1: into or what he's going to want to do or whatever.
- 14:46Speaker 1: But I know whatever it is, like you're going to
- 14:48Speaker 1: come alongside him and be an incredible dad. And I
- 14:52Speaker 1: think you're very deserving of that. So I just wanted
- 14:55Speaker 1: you to hear that. Oh, I appreciate that, man. And
- 14:57Speaker 1: I know the weight's like real heavy on you because
- 15:00Speaker 1: you want it so bad. And that's a good place
- 15:03Speaker 1: to be. It's a really scary place to be. But
- 15:06Speaker 1: that just means that it means that much to you.
- 15:10Speaker 1: And I think that's really special. I appreciate that, brother.
- 15:13Speaker 1: Best to you and to Charo. And congratulations, Charo. We're
- 15:18Speaker 1: beyond excited and happy for you.
- 15:21Speaker 2: He's going to have a dad that loves him. He's
- 15:23Speaker 2: going to be number three on the list too. He's
- 15:24Speaker 2: always going to be number three on the depth chart.
- 15:26Speaker 2: He's going to be below his sisters. Like they've already
- 15:29Speaker 2: captured the majority of love of space in my heart.
- 15:33Speaker 1: But he'll be number three immediately on the depth chart.
- 15:36Speaker 1: Can I pry and ask an inappropriate question? Because I
- 15:39Speaker 1: know the listeners would want me to. Are there names
- 15:42Speaker 1: floating around? There's names floating around. That's all I was
- 15:46Speaker 1: going to ask. That's it. You don't have to tell me.
- 15:48Speaker 1: There's names floating around. Guess the names in the comments below.
- 15:51Speaker 1: Guess the names. That's what we want. I'm already seeing
- 15:54Speaker 1: William Earl Compton IV, which I lean that way, but
- 16:01Speaker 1: I'm seeing the nickname Vice because if you go backwards
- 16:04Speaker 1: on that, it spells out Vice, and then the W
- 16:08Speaker 1: would technically be the V with the one in front
- 16:12Speaker 1: of it. I thought that was kind of cool. Yeah. Well, yeah. Yeah, yeah.
- 16:17Speaker 1: They're floating around. Willie Four, you know, obviously that's toward
- 16:24Speaker 1: the top. And I'm being inappropriate right now. I am
- 16:27Speaker 1: prying and I do apologize. You're fine, bro. Trust me. Look,
- 16:31Speaker 1: I'm already looking into red light bassinets. Good. I'm already thinking.
- 16:35Speaker 1: You already got Greenfield on speed dial. Yeah, like looking
- 16:38Speaker 1: for cooling pads as he sleeps at night. Like what
- 16:40Speaker 1: type of stretches can I do with this young man?
- 16:43Speaker 1: Am I allowed to put him in a sauna at
- 16:45Speaker 1: 12 weeks old? Two in the hot, two in the sauna,
- 16:48Speaker 1: and we'll go a minute in the cold tub. If
- 16:49Speaker 1: I do the cold plunge with him here, he'll have
- 16:53Speaker 1: my body warm. It'll be good. You got to be
- 16:56Speaker 1: uncomfortable if you're going to grow. Dude, Mike, crack a
- 17:02Speaker 1: cold one, by the way. And I know we have
- 17:04Speaker 1: a tremendous interview with Trey Kennedy. I am sick that
- 17:08Speaker 1: I was not here for Trey Kennedy because we were
- 17:09Speaker 1: on the road for Bustin' and Pate last Friday. Yeah, yeah.
- 17:13Speaker 2: I know we got an awesome interview lined up. My
- 17:15Speaker 2: Crack-A-Cole one, because you guys probably hit Crack-A-Cole ones in the.
- 17:18Speaker 1: We did. Brought to us by Olipop, of course.
- 17:19Speaker 2: Brought to us by Olipop, but I have a tremendous
- 17:22Speaker 2: Olipop Crack-A-Cole one. It goes to Rue. Rue did the
- 17:25Speaker 2: sauna with me on Sunday.
- 17:27Speaker 1: No! Rue did the cold tub with me on Sunday. Yes, yes, sir, yes.
- 17:32Speaker 5: She heard the news and she's like i'm not getting
- 17:34Speaker 5: replaced she said i'm still number one my.
- 17:37Speaker 2: Girls they're gonna know like they're they're they will always
- 17:39Speaker 2: be at the top of the food chain like it's
- 17:42Speaker 2: it's um yeah like they are they're my girls but
- 17:47Speaker 2: rue she was i i just asked her i said
- 17:50Speaker 2: hey do you want to get in the sauna with
- 17:51Speaker 2: dad then um char was very much like is that
- 17:53Speaker 2: safe is that okay i was like let me do
- 17:55Speaker 2: some digging And I'll have her lay on the lower bench.
- 17:58Speaker 1: Where it's, you know, not as hot as sitting on
- 18:00Speaker 1: the top. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 18:01Speaker 2: But she, mom went to go, she went to go
- 18:04Speaker 2: shop for some crafting or something like that because she
- 18:06Speaker 2: started doing the Halloween costumes.
- 18:09Speaker 1: Yeah. And Scotty was napping. So me and Rue go back.
- 18:12Speaker 1: She gets ready. She wanted to wear a dress. I'm like, sweetheart,
- 18:14Speaker 1: we don't, we don't, dresses. Not in the sauna. Not
- 18:17Speaker 1: in the sauna. Because you're going to want to wear
- 18:19Speaker 1: the dress afterwards. You're going to want something that you
- 18:21Speaker 1: can sweat in. Yeah, yeah, yeah. But she gets in
- 18:24Speaker 1: the sauna with me, bro. And I'm talking, it's 190
- 18:27Speaker 1: in the sauna. It's 190. What did Google say when
- 18:31Speaker 1: you Googled?
- 18:33Speaker 2: They said it'd be good when I'm diving into some
- 18:38Speaker 2: AI and find some research on it. Like Huberman, like
- 18:40Speaker 2: all the people in the industry leaders.
- 18:43Speaker 1: Don't give me the political BS that it's not safe. Oh,
- 18:46Speaker 1: I know.
- 18:46Speaker 2: Health 3.0, digging in, performance. Would it be safe for,
- 18:50Speaker 2: I typed in five-year-old instead of four-year-old? You and Papa
- 18:53Speaker 2: Sherm have something in common. He would, when we would
- 18:56Speaker 2: go up to the gym or something with him, like
- 18:58Speaker 2: he would take us to the sauna too when we
- 19:01Speaker 2: were little dudes.
- 19:02Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 19:02Speaker 1: You're not alone. Yeah.
- 19:04Speaker 2: And I saw it would be safe for a good five,
- 19:06Speaker 2: 10 minutes, depending on temperature. But I'm already in my mind.
- 19:08Speaker 2: I know it's 190 in the sauna right now. You
- 19:11Speaker 2: walk in, obviously it's much cooler. Like you put your
- 19:13Speaker 2: phone and everything else down at the bottom of the
- 19:15Speaker 2: floor because it's cool down there. And then you have
- 19:17Speaker 2: the first bench, which is not near as hot as
- 19:19Speaker 2: the top bench. And so I'm like, all right, I'll
- 19:22Speaker 2: lay Rue, gave her a pillow. to lay on that,
- 19:25Speaker 2: that middle bench should be solid. She rocked in there
- 19:28Speaker 2: with me for 12 minutes and she got, let's go.
- 19:31Speaker 2: Once you got, she got to where she had the
- 19:32Speaker 2: sweat beads on her shoulders, like coming out of it.
- 19:34Speaker 2: But she ran into a fog. She ran into dad.
- 19:37Speaker 2: She ran into a dad, eight minute monologue of why
- 19:41Speaker 2: we do things like this.
- 19:42Speaker 1: Oh, good.
- 19:42Speaker 2: Of why, you know, I started off like, Hey, you know,
- 19:48Speaker 2: when you ride your scooter, you fall down.
- 19:50Speaker 1: Like it's hard.
- 19:50Speaker 2: Like as you're riding, it gets harder because she's getting
- 19:52Speaker 2: into writing letters and cursive. She's getting into coloring between
- 19:56Speaker 2: the lines. She's so much better at coloring between the lines.
- 19:58Speaker 2: And remember how you get so frustrated when you couldn't
- 20:01Speaker 2: color in between the lines. And it makes you mad.
- 20:04Speaker 2: But over time, you've gotten better at all of these things.
- 20:07Speaker 2: That's called progress because you're making yourself uncomfortable trying to
- 20:11Speaker 2: do something better physically or whether it's arts and crafts
- 20:14Speaker 2: or writing, whatever it is. You're challenging yourself. to be better.
- 20:19Speaker 2: You don't just naturally have it. And I'm like, with
- 20:21Speaker 2: our bodies, we sit in this air conditioning all the time.
- 20:24Speaker 2: Like we're built soft.
- 20:26Speaker 1: That's what happens.
- 20:27Speaker 2: If it's too hot outside, you come in and it's
- 20:28Speaker 2: nice and cozy in the AC. If it's too cold outside,
- 20:31Speaker 2: you come into the heat and it's warm. Our bodies
- 20:34Speaker 2: want to be comfortable at all times. The way you
- 20:37Speaker 2: challenge yourself, the way you challenge your body when you're
- 20:40Speaker 2: at a steady state and you're not doing anything or
- 20:42Speaker 2: what's the word? You're, uh, you're, um, Where you're just still.
- 20:47Speaker 1: What's that called? Sedentary? Not sedentary. Either way. They know.
- 20:54Speaker 1: I had the word when I'm in the middle of
- 20:56Speaker 1: this monologue to her.
- 20:57Speaker 2: I was only going to do eight minutes, but then
- 20:59Speaker 2: I caught myself. I looked at my, oh shit, it's 12.
- 21:00Speaker 2: Because I was just going on this monologue and she's
- 21:03Speaker 2: looking at me. I'm at the top bench just sitting
- 21:05Speaker 2: up and I'm looking down at her talking to her.
- 21:08Speaker 1: What did she say? She kept nodding like she was understanding.
- 21:13Speaker 1: I'm like....
- 21:15Speaker 2: I'm like to make our bodies uncomfortable when we do nothing.
- 21:18Speaker 2: Your dad likes to sit in extreme heat or getting
- 21:21Speaker 2: extreme cold to make our bodies uncomfortable to adapt and
- 21:25Speaker 2: make progress, make progress there.
- 21:27Speaker 1: That's how you get better. That's where growth happens. Yeah.
- 21:30Speaker 1: Are you following me?
- 21:31Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 21:31Speaker 2: I'm like saying this, I'm following up questions. Like, do you,
- 21:33Speaker 2: you understand what that is saying? And she would nod.
- 21:35Speaker 1: Yes.
- 21:36Speaker 2: And I'm like, okay, it's been 12 minutes. Like now
- 21:38Speaker 2: we go to the cold tub. I set up the
- 21:40Speaker 2: cold tub. I'm like, dad is going to go in.
- 21:42Speaker 2: And I'm like, look at me, sweetheart. I know you
- 21:44Speaker 2: know this is cold. She has never wanted to go in.
- 21:47Speaker 2: Too cold for her, which I get.
- 21:48Speaker 1: She's four. Yeah, yeah.
- 21:50Speaker 2: That is going to get in when it gets up
- 21:51Speaker 2: to here. You're going to see me hyperventilate like until
- 21:55Speaker 2: I can calm my breath. That's going to take a
- 21:57Speaker 2: few seconds. And then I'll get to slower breathing. Just
- 22:01Speaker 2: know you're going to be panicked when you get in here.
- 22:03Speaker 2: This water can't hurt you. That would never let this
- 22:06Speaker 2: water hurt you or put.
- 22:08Speaker 1: You in danger.
- 22:09Speaker 2: So I got in, she saw it and I'm like,
- 22:10Speaker 2: all right, come out of the sauna. Cause I made
- 22:12Speaker 2: her stay in the sauna. So that way it's like,
- 22:14Speaker 2: she'd get the shock of going in.
- 22:15Speaker 1: The cold water. Cause you sit in the AC too long,
- 22:17Speaker 1: you get a little too cold. Then it seems way
- 22:19Speaker 1: too cold.
- 22:19Speaker 3: Yeah. Yeah. Yeah.
- 22:20Speaker 2: I want to have a sweat going into the cold tub.
- 22:25Speaker 2: She walks over and I pick her up to put
- 22:27Speaker 2: her in. I'm like, just, she gets her feet or,
- 22:29Speaker 2: you know, it goes up to her shins. I'm like,
- 22:30Speaker 2: just stand. She didn't want to go down. And she
- 22:33Speaker 2: was really kind of panicking on going down. I'm like, sweetheart,
- 22:35Speaker 2: look at that. I'm not going to let you get hurt.
- 22:38Speaker 2: Look at that the whole time. Drop below to where
- 22:40Speaker 2: you get it up above your belly button and we'll
- 22:42Speaker 2: just go down and you can stand right back up.
- 22:44Speaker 2: Stay on your feet. She ends up going down, bro.
- 22:46Speaker 2: Stands back up. She goes down lower to where it
- 22:48Speaker 2: gets to her chest. And on the last one, I'm like,
- 22:50Speaker 2: just sit here, feel the hyperventilation, and then just get
- 22:53Speaker 2: to where you're slowly breathing out. And she was staring
- 22:55Speaker 2: at me the whole time, slowly breathing out. And I'm like,
- 22:57Speaker 2: I put her out and I'm like, you're done. You
- 22:58Speaker 2: did it.
- 22:59Speaker 1: So my cricocobal goes through hitting some, some contrast with her.
- 23:04Speaker 1: At the very end, you just look at her. You say, Hey,
- 23:07Speaker 1: you crushed that. You listened to that. You should be
- 23:10Speaker 1: so fired up. You should be fired up. Yeah. Here's
- 23:12Speaker 1: what we're going to do. You go upstairs. go put
- 23:15Speaker 1: on your frozen dress.
- 23:17Speaker 2: She had it right there. I'm like, dry off and
- 23:19Speaker 2: get you back in the dress. She told me, daddy,
- 23:23Speaker 2: when I'm five, I'm going to be.
- 23:24Speaker 1: Able to sit in the cold tub for 10 minutes. Hey, yo.
- 23:27Speaker 2: Is what she said. That might be a little too extreme,
- 23:30Speaker 2: but that's what she told me. And then we charted out.
- 23:32Speaker 2: I'm like, do you want to do this with that
- 23:33Speaker 2: every Sunday? And she's all about it.
- 23:35Speaker 1: This is your wheelhouse. She's like, when's my birthday? When
- 23:39Speaker 1: do I turn five? Well, you turn five in April.
- 23:41Speaker 2: Got out the calendar, counted the Sundays we have until
- 23:43Speaker 2: she turns five. We got about in between 20 and
- 23:46Speaker 2: 25 Sundays to work up to.
- 23:48Speaker 1: This 10 minutes that she wants to be involved in.
- 23:50Speaker 1: But she's all about it. Oh, I love that.
- 23:53Speaker 2: She asked me last night when I was doing bedtime,
- 23:55Speaker 2: we didn't get in the sauna today.
- 23:56Speaker 1: Sweetheart, it's Monday. I had to check my watch because
- 24:01Speaker 1: it's Tuesday. We're doing it. We're doing every Sunday, correct?
- 24:03Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 24:04Speaker 1: I'm like, sweetheart, it's Monday. She's like, well, when's Sunday?
- 24:06Speaker 1: Is it tomorrow? I'm like, no, Sunday's in six days.
- 24:08Speaker 1: You have time to prep. Trust me.
- 24:09Speaker 2: I'll remind you when it's time to do sauna and
- 24:12Speaker 2: cold tub. She seems like she's into it.
- 24:14Speaker 1: Reality TV producers out there, I just want you to
- 24:18Speaker 1: know you are losing money by not putting a camera
- 24:22Speaker 1: on this guy, especially for, I cannot wait for the
- 24:25Speaker 1: high school years of you driving to like a big
- 24:29Speaker 1: game of something and one of your kids in the
- 24:32Speaker 1: backseat and you prepping them for like mental focus. When
- 24:36Speaker 1: you get going and your vein starts popping out of
- 24:39Speaker 1: your neck and you'll, you've only done it once or
- 24:42Speaker 1: twice to me, but you'll ask me after a long monologue,
- 24:45Speaker 1: what'd you hear from that? What did you get from that?
- 24:50Speaker 1: You tell me. There's no wrong answer. What were you
- 24:53Speaker 1: hearing when I was talking? I'm just like, Will Compton
- 24:57Speaker 1: is built to be a coach. You are built to
- 25:01Speaker 1: be a coach. One day I will be to get
- 25:04Speaker 1: to that high school level. You got a boy coming
- 25:08Speaker 1: on and you got an eldest daughter that is hungry.
- 25:12Speaker 1: Hungry for the trenches. You're cooking right now, Will. Cooking
- 25:17Speaker 1: right now. Cooking right now. it's process yes it's all
- 25:21Speaker 1: about timing yes because I'm telling her too you know
- 25:23Speaker 1: how you get emotional and frazzled these extreme exposures help
- 25:27Speaker 1: you control that vagus nerve that's located in your neck
- 25:31Speaker 1: to where you're not panicking all the time it'll help
- 25:33Speaker 1: you handle stressful situations better.
- 25:36Speaker 2: That's what I'm, she, she got a, yeah, she got
- 25:39Speaker 2: a full lecture from dad. She got a full educational moment.
- 25:42Speaker 1: Yes. She was tapped in. She was locked in. In
- 25:45Speaker 1: real Scotty and son to be. Lock in. Cause there's
- 25:51Speaker 1: more to come with that.
- 25:52Speaker 2: Son's going to have nowhere to go when your sisters
- 25:54Speaker 2: are setting the standard already and they know what the
- 25:55Speaker 2: standard is to be.
- 25:57Speaker 1: He's going to have nowhere to go. No one's coming
- 26:00Speaker 1: to save him. No one's coming to save his little ass.
- 26:02Speaker 1: Dan Gable ain't coming to save him. So are you
- 26:06Speaker 1: going to... Oh, we have some follow-ups here. I had
- 26:15Speaker 1: one dad hack that I was actually really bummed that
- 26:18Speaker 1: I didn't share it with Trey when he was on.
- 26:21Speaker 1: I can squeeze it in here. Have the babysitter show
- 26:28Speaker 1: up an hour earlier than your wife thinks the babysitter
- 26:31Speaker 1: should show up. That is a tongue twister. But that
- 26:37Speaker 1: is my dad hack. Because oh so often are we
- 26:40Speaker 1: coming up to the finish line getting ready for date night.
- 26:44Speaker 1: And one of us has to switch as we're changing
- 26:47Speaker 1: to watch Scarlet. I'm doing my hair, blah, blah, blah.
- 26:51Speaker 1: I go, okay, that last little hour is always hell
- 26:56Speaker 1: before we're going. Why doesn't the babysitter just come at
- 26:59Speaker 1: five instead of six? If we're still getting ready, that's okay.
- 27:05Speaker 1: They're in the living room playing and mom gets to
- 27:08Speaker 1: have more time. And Jill pressed me on it. She
- 27:10Speaker 1: pressed me on it. And honey, I hope that this
- 27:12Speaker 1: is a moment where hubby was right. Sweetheart, I hope
- 27:17Speaker 1: you can take this moment to receive this L. To
- 27:20Speaker 1: receive this L. On the mic. That we had said
- 27:23Speaker 1: baby Sarah Crystal show up at five instead of six.
- 27:27Speaker 1: And it was lovely. It was lovely. We got to
- 27:31Speaker 1: both be in the mirror together, getting ready for our
- 27:33Speaker 1: date night. And you're warming Scar Scar up to the evening.
- 27:37Speaker 1: They're already playing it. Simply, you get to leave the
- 27:39Speaker 1: house now. Bada bing, bada boom, dude. We snuck out.
- 27:42Speaker 1: She didn't even know. She had no idea. She was
- 27:45Speaker 1: clung like a monkey to a tree to Crystal on
- 27:48Speaker 1: the couch. And we just snuck out the front. Oh.
- 27:52Speaker 1: See ya. Great dad hack. Thank you. Great dad hack.
- 27:55Speaker 2: We got, uh, we got followups because again, I know
- 27:58Speaker 2: we just, we talked, uh, myself having a boy, but
- 28:03Speaker 2: the community is what makes this show. If you want
- 28:06Speaker 2: to be featured on the show, all you have to
- 28:07Speaker 2: do is simply write in. We talk about comments. We
- 28:10Speaker 2: talk about dad wins, losses, crack and cold ones, everything
- 28:14Speaker 2: in between. You want a chance to be featured on
- 28:16Speaker 2: the show. All you gotta do is leave a comment
- 28:17Speaker 2: on YouTube, leave a comment on Spotify or boy Deke.
- 28:20Speaker 1: He will find them.
- 28:21Speaker 2: And, uh, Before we get into the callbacks, I just
- 28:24Speaker 2: want to say I cannot tell Papa Team 6, moms
- 28:28Speaker 2: and dads, Milk Team 6, Papa Team 6, how much
- 28:31Speaker 2: I appreciate when they come out, when I see them
- 28:34Speaker 2: in the wild.
- 28:34Speaker 1: We were at Nebraska over the weekend and the.
- 28:36Speaker 2: Amount of people, people seeing Chef and wanting to get
- 28:39Speaker 2: a photo with Chef and just coming up and talking
- 28:42Speaker 2: dads like, yo, love the pod. And when they say
- 28:44Speaker 2: not busing for the dads, it means the absolute world.
- 28:50Speaker 1: And please continue to shout out... Oh, yes.
- 28:53Speaker 5: Sherm got someone in the wild at Coop's birthday dinner.
- 28:58Speaker 5: A young lady who was nine weeks pregnant came up.
- 29:00Speaker 5: I forget her name. Her husband's name was Mike. Basically
- 29:04Speaker 5: was singing the praises for this pod. And she said,
- 29:06Speaker 5: you guys... whipped them into a good man. Well, and
- 29:09Speaker 5: she was very sweet.
- 29:10Speaker 1: Her and Jill then started vibing big time, which that
- 29:14Speaker 1: is always really fun to see too. She's saying all
- 29:17Speaker 1: this kind things to me and Deacon. She goes, okay.
- 29:20Speaker 1: And by the way, hi Jill. And then they'd like,
- 29:23Speaker 1: they did their thing. Um, but yes, thank you. And
- 29:26Speaker 1: guys in the wild, please continue to ask chef for pictures. Please,
- 29:31Speaker 1: it's my favorite thing in the entire world. And autographs, please. Autographs.
- 29:35Speaker 1: Photos with Chef. It is truly my favorite thing in
- 29:38Speaker 1: the entire world. Please. continue to do that. All right,
- 29:42Speaker 1: let's hit the callbacks.
- 29:43Speaker 3: Yes.
- 29:44Speaker 2: I got one here from JTomko711 on YouTube from last
- 29:50Speaker 2: week's episode. From what I've gathered from this episode, I
- 29:54Speaker 2: think Willie C really wants to play some flag football.
- 29:57Speaker 1: Which leads me to ask... How'd you do last week?
- 30:01Speaker 2: Are we still, are we 1-5?
- 30:03Speaker 1: Did we get a dub? We did not get a dub.
- 30:05Speaker 1: We are 0-6. And listen, I did intentionally cuss more.
- 30:13Speaker 1: And I did intentionally cuss more. This is not a bit.
- 30:17Speaker 1: Because everybody on the flag team saw the clip. The
- 30:21Speaker 1: clip got passed around. Which clip? The one that Chef
- 30:24Speaker 1: made of you talking about, hey, what's going on? Y'all
- 30:29Speaker 1: need to be customer. You need to do some chew. Like,
- 30:32Speaker 1: you got to get going. And so the word was out. One,
- 30:36Speaker 1: most of these people, Damon. Like, we're not here for fun.
- 30:38Speaker 1: We're here to win. Yeah. I'm random.
- 30:40Speaker 5: A Sherm stop outing us comment was in the comments
- 30:43Speaker 5: of that clip by Sarah?
- 30:45Speaker 1: By Grace.
- 30:46Speaker 3: Grace.
- 30:46Speaker 1: By Grace. Said Sherm stop outing us. Grace's mom is
- 30:50Speaker 1: very worried about her daughter starting chewing tobacco. Very worried
- 30:54Speaker 1: about that. Thanks a lot, Sherm. Yes. So sorry. I
- 30:58Speaker 1: want to apologize to Grace's mom. We are not trying
- 31:00Speaker 1: to get your daughter on chewing tobacco. We're trying to
- 31:03Speaker 1: win some football games. We're just trying to get some
- 31:04Speaker 1: hair on some chess, and we're trying to get a W.
- 31:07Speaker 1: All right? Played all right. I had a couple catches.
- 31:13Speaker 1: I had to play both ways because we had some no-shows.
- 31:17Speaker 1: That was not fun. That led to us getting, what's
- 31:21Speaker 1: it called? Run ruled, essentially. We got run ruled. Not
- 31:26Speaker 1: only are you in six, but after last week's pod,
- 31:29Speaker 1: you got run ruled. I got run ruled. You got
- 31:30Speaker 1: run ruled. You got people not showing up. Yep. It
- 31:33Speaker 1: seems like the culture's fractured. Culture's fractured. Have we had
- 31:36Speaker 1: a players only team meeting yet? Yes. In the parking
- 31:39Speaker 1: lot after said game, your name was brought up. Not
- 31:44Speaker 1: by me. Not by me. Your name was brought up.
- 31:48Speaker 1: I said, listen. I love me some Willie C. And
- 31:53Speaker 1: I know Willie C. would be there for his boy.
- 31:56Speaker 1: But Willie C. is not showing up to play for
- 31:58Speaker 1: our flag football team. I love... They want me to come.
- 32:01Speaker 1: They want you to come to play. And I just
- 32:05Speaker 1: tempered expectations. Not in a bad way. I didn't say, oh,
- 32:09Speaker 1: he would never show up. I just said.
- 32:13Speaker 1: I just said, I don't know if Willie C would
- 32:15Speaker 1: show up, but I love where your head's at. Love
- 32:18Speaker 1: where your head's at.
- 32:18Speaker 2: We have a fill-in on this episode. Chef, he's out
- 32:22Speaker 2: with his dad doing some charity work.
- 32:25Speaker 1: We have Mitch. Lord, you thought of Will before Mitch.
- 32:29Speaker 5: No offense, you played some big football in your life.
- 32:31Speaker 1: All I'm thinking about is you'll never see me around
- 32:34Speaker 1: this flag football team. Before, if I was caught in
- 32:38Speaker 1: the parking lot or around your game, Did I say
- 32:42Speaker 1: I brought it up? No doubt.
- 32:46Speaker 5: You left the door open instead of saying we also
- 32:48Speaker 5: have like somebody who would work for the national team
- 32:51Speaker 5: of flag football.
- 32:53Speaker 2: What I'm thinking is I wouldn't be caught dead showing
- 32:56Speaker 2: up to that flag football game before I would show
- 33:00Speaker 2: up for Mitch's flag. Mitch has been wanting me to
- 33:02Speaker 2: come do it. He's just been wanting me to come
- 33:04Speaker 2: and watch. He's asked a couple of times, but he
- 33:06Speaker 2: kind of just, you know. He knows that, like, I
- 33:09Speaker 2: don't even know what I'm trying to say. Like, I'd
- 33:11Speaker 2: be more primed to want to play than I guess watch.
- 33:13Speaker 2: But Mitch is always, nothing more. He wants Willie C
- 33:17Speaker 2: to come watch a flag football game.
- 33:18Speaker 1: Yes.
- 33:19Speaker 2: If I did that and that was out there, I
- 33:21Speaker 2: would feel he would have every right to verbally stab
- 33:25Speaker 2: me in the back.
- 33:26Speaker 1: It would be messed up. Yeah. It would be messed up.
- 33:28Speaker 6: I've been trying to get Will to come to a
- 33:30Speaker 6: flag game or even just play for three or four
- 33:33Speaker 6: years since I've been playing and completely understand that you
- 33:36Speaker 6: don't want to, you don't want to get hurt. like
- 33:37Speaker 6: you got your kids and everything, but like, if you played, yeah, exactly.
- 33:41Speaker 6: If you, if you played with Sherm before you came
- 33:43Speaker 6: and played with me, I would, I feel the same way.
- 33:46Speaker 1: Well, his team's with all of his boys too. Not
- 33:49Speaker 1: that I have a shot. Like I'll be going. Cause
- 33:52Speaker 1: I know this group wants to win. Well, and you've
- 33:54Speaker 1: met a lot of fun. You know what I mean?
- 33:58Speaker 1: He's kind of fun. We have banana bread passed out
- 34:02Speaker 1: at the end of our game. They passing out banana bread.
- 34:05Speaker 1: They're passing out smelling salts. Banana bread was being passed
- 34:10Speaker 1: out at the end of one of our games, and
- 34:11Speaker 1: our quarterback, Sean, said, man, this league, man, this league
- 34:16Speaker 1: used to have a lot of teeth. I don't know
- 34:17Speaker 1: what happened. I mean, he was pissed. Sean was pissed
- 34:22Speaker 1: about the banana bread. All right, dads, PT sickos, PT sixers,
- 34:27Speaker 1: you know the moment that I'm about to tell you about.
- 34:30Speaker 1: It's 5.30, the kids are hangry, and someone whines, what's
- 34:34Speaker 1: for dinner? You're about to panic, but then you remember
- 34:38Speaker 1: that you picked up Kevin's Natural Foods at the grocery store.
- 34:42Speaker 1: Their refrigerated entrees give you a legit, clean ingredient, restaurant-quality
- 34:47Speaker 1: meal in just five minutes. All you have to do
- 34:49Speaker 1: is heat it up, add a side, And you can
- 34:52Speaker 1: take all the credit for a shockingly delicious dinner the
- 34:56Speaker 1: whole family will love. I did it to my own wife.
- 35:00Speaker 1: I feel terrible saying it. And Kevin's, you can call
- 35:03Speaker 1: me out on it. I used the cilantro lime chicken.
- 35:07Speaker 1: I made two helpings of it to even kind of
- 35:09Speaker 1: further sell that I made it homemade. I got rid
- 35:12Speaker 1: of all the evidence. I put all the Kevin's boxes
- 35:15Speaker 1: in the trash to try and get away with it.
- 35:17Speaker 1: Jill caught me, found the Kevin's boxes in the trash
- 35:20Speaker 1: and was like, I knew it was too good to
- 35:21Speaker 1: be true. It was too tasty, Sherm. So I got
- 35:24Speaker 1: caught red-handed, but it does work. I'm telling you, Kevin's
- 35:28Speaker 1: is the move. They got flavors like Thai-style coconut chicken,
- 35:31Speaker 1: Korean barbecue-style chicken, and teriyaki beef. The Hawaiian-style chicken is
- 35:37Speaker 1: always a hit in our house. Hawaiian-style chicken slaps with
- 35:40Speaker 1: just about anything. You get the side rice... Call it aside.
- 35:45Speaker 1: You mix some rice in with that. No matter what
- 35:48Speaker 1: flavor you choose, Kevin's Natural Foods makes dinner quick, delicious,
- 35:53Speaker 1: and dad-proof. Don't miss out on Kevin's stock up on
- 35:57Speaker 1: their entrees in the refrigerated aisle at your local grocery store.
- 36:02Speaker 1: PT Sickos, let's get back to this episode. Oh, your
- 36:06Speaker 1: teammate of yours was pissed about the banana bread. Yeah, QB.
- 36:08Speaker 1: QB won. He was like, what's going on? We just
- 36:11Speaker 1: got run ruled. We got banana bread being passed around like...
- 36:15Speaker 1: Banana bread. Start slapping it out of hands. And then
- 36:19Speaker 1: it was a birthday of somebody else on the team
- 36:21Speaker 1: that Run World does. We're like, hey, your birthday. Like,
- 36:25Speaker 1: we got some banana bread over here. God, if I
- 36:27Speaker 1: was that quarterback, I saw you eating some banana bread.
- 36:29Speaker 1: Just slap that shit out. You're cramping up playing both ways.
- 36:33Speaker 1: How about we get hydrated? Just a full chunk of
- 36:39Speaker 1: banana bread in my mouth. I'll tell you what, that
- 36:43Speaker 1: would not be acceptable on my team. Because he wins,
- 36:47Speaker 1: they win. They win. And they feel it when they lose. Yeah.
- 36:51Speaker 1: This ain't kumbaya.
- 36:52Speaker 6: We're undefeated right now and we have like a 90
- 36:55Speaker 6: point score differential.
- 36:56Speaker 1: So like. We don't mess around. He knows their stats.
- 36:59Speaker 1: You know, they're like, it's a different squad. It's a
- 37:01Speaker 1: different squad. I'll tell you what, you need a scrimmage
- 37:03Speaker 1: partner and maybe you guys get together on more days.
- 37:06Speaker 1: There you go. There you go. We could use some
- 37:10Speaker 1: overall coaching. We could use some overall coaching. I think
- 37:14Speaker 1: one of our.
- 37:19Speaker 1: One of our core values here at the office is
- 37:23Speaker 1: team over ego. I think our team could use a
- 37:26Speaker 1: little team over ego. Big ego. Every now and then.
- 37:30Speaker 1: A lot of me guys. A lot of me guys.
- 37:32Speaker 1: Give me the banana bread. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Let me
- 37:35Speaker 1: make the banana bread this week. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Oh,
- 37:39Speaker 1: that's hilarious. We have Barb Hay. Barb Hayson, 6286 on YouTube, says,
- 37:47Speaker 1: I love the gong. Please continue to use it every
- 37:50Speaker 1: time you hit the gong. It reminds me of Evie
- 37:54Speaker 1: the Brave. Shout out Evie the Brave, man. Shout out, man.
- 37:58Speaker 2: I got one here from Courtney Elterman on Spotify. Another
- 38:04Speaker 2: opportunity for Chef to drop the ball with food. First
- 38:07Speaker 2: the burritos, now dinner for the Comptons.
- 38:10Speaker 1: But nay, nay, nay. Nay, nay, nay, Courtney.
- 38:13Speaker 2: Chef delivered with dinner time at the Compton residence. So
- 38:18Speaker 2: Chef was set up to travel for Bussin' and Pate,
- 38:23Speaker 2: do the whole Nebraska thing, because we shot it for
- 38:25Speaker 2: the Dad's Vlog. That will be dropping maybe at some
- 38:28Speaker 2: point this week. That'll be coming soon. So it's kind
- 38:30Speaker 2: of like around the routine of being up early, doing
- 38:34Speaker 2: the stuff before we leave, just so people get an
- 38:37Speaker 2: inside look of what a Friday would look like in
- 38:40Speaker 2: my world today. balancing the family dynamic, but also show
- 38:44Speaker 2: like seeing like what we get to do, what we get.
- 38:46Speaker 1: To experience when we go on a day in the life.
- 38:48Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 38:49Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 38:49Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 38:49Speaker 2: Some Papa team fit before some setting up some lunch
- 38:52Speaker 2: before leaving the house, like all the things didn't want
- 38:55Speaker 2: to go as far as chef offered to, if you
- 38:57Speaker 2: like on last week's episode, when he's like, do they
- 38:59Speaker 2: like chicken nuggets? You think they'd like some Italian breaded
- 39:02Speaker 2: chicken nuggets? And it's like, chef, where are you going
- 39:04Speaker 2: with this? He offered to bring dinner over on Thursday.
- 39:07Speaker 2: Part of me thought he was trying, like he was
- 39:09Speaker 2: almost inviting, uh, Like, hey, or you want me to
- 39:11Speaker 2: stay at the house so that way I can just
- 39:12Speaker 2: wake up in the morning? And I'm thinking, okay, well,
- 39:14Speaker 2: he didn't end up staying at the house.
- 39:15Speaker 1: Okay, okay. He didn't end up staying at the house.
- 39:18Speaker 1: But he offered dinner.
- 39:20Speaker 2: The way Charles was feeling, now that it's all out there,
- 39:23Speaker 2: Charles was obviously, she's been just low, like just feeling
- 39:26Speaker 2: like dog shit with the nausea and everything else. So
- 39:28Speaker 2: I was like, kind of a game changer. day decision.
- 39:30Speaker 2: I'll talk to her tonight, see if she's up for
- 39:33Speaker 2: hosting because it's just the dynamic of having somebody over
- 39:36Speaker 2: to the house.
- 39:36Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 39:38Speaker 2: Chef, chicken cutlets, Italian breaded chicken cutlets, some spaghetti, and
- 39:44Speaker 2: some homemade marinara sauce. He made it all himself. He
- 39:48Speaker 2: brought it over to the house. He made spaghetti at
- 39:50Speaker 2: the house. I just tipped him off because he hit
- 39:52Speaker 2: me up day of on Thursday. Hey, I'm just going
- 39:54Speaker 2: to make spaghetti at the house. When I get there,
- 39:56Speaker 2: I have everything else ready. I'm going to do the
- 39:57Speaker 2: spaghetti at the house. I had told him that, hey,
- 40:01Speaker 2: get to the house around 6, 615. When he hit
- 40:03Speaker 2: me with, I'll make spaghetti at the house.
- 40:04Speaker 1: I'm like, no, no, no, no, no, no.
- 40:06Speaker 2: The food's got to be ready. We got to be
- 40:07Speaker 2: ready to go. Because if we're making spaghetti, we're pushing 7,
- 40:11Speaker 2: 730 for when we would have dinner.
- 40:13Speaker 1: Yeah. He heard it.
- 40:14Speaker 4: He was on.
- 40:15Speaker 1: He came over at 530. Yeah.
- 40:17Speaker 2: Was making pasta in the kitchen. Rue is operating with them.
- 40:20Speaker 2: I mean, this was an A plus all around effort
- 40:24Speaker 2: by chef.
- 40:24Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 40:25Speaker 2: He came in, he got to experience the full five
- 40:28Speaker 2: 30 through bedtime, a full three hour, two to three
- 40:31Speaker 2: hour display of what goes on in the Compton household.
- 40:34Speaker 2: Like we had dinner, Rue setting up the dinner table. Um,
- 40:39Speaker 2: we all have dinner together. We're doing Rose and Thorne.
- 40:41Speaker 2: We put chef on the mark for doing Rose and Thorne. And, uh,
- 40:45Speaker 2: Rue's talking to him the whole time. He got to
- 40:46Speaker 2: see some negotiation happening with, hey, eat your dinner. They're
- 40:49Speaker 2: excited that Chef's there. Cookies started getting negotiated. We're trying
- 40:53Speaker 2: to get them to eat their dinner. We get past dinner. Hey,
- 40:56Speaker 2: it's dance party time. Not before we clean up the kitchen,
- 41:00Speaker 2: we do the dishes. Chef and Rue are wiping down tables.
- 41:03Speaker 1: With the spray.
- 41:04Speaker 2: Rue's helping him out, kind of showing him the bells
- 41:06Speaker 2: and whistles of how we operate. And Chef is immersed
- 41:10Speaker 2: in all of it. Then it's dance party time. We
- 41:13Speaker 2: get the music that comes on in the house. Kids
- 41:16Speaker 2: are dancing.
- 41:17Speaker 1: I see Chef very uncomfortably trying to enter the dance floor.
- 41:21Speaker 3: Okay.
- 41:21Speaker 1: They're trying to get him to dance. And he's kind
- 41:24Speaker 1: of hitting his like, I don't know. A little Trump action. Yeah,
- 41:26Speaker 1: a little Trump action as he's getting to the dance floor.
- 41:28Speaker 3: Okay.
- 41:29Speaker 2: And I'm laughing internally. I'm like, let me get out
- 41:30Speaker 2: there for him and show him. All you got to
- 41:32Speaker 2: do is mock what the kids are doing. This is
- 41:34Speaker 2: low stakes dancing.
- 41:35Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 41:36Speaker 2: We're jumping up and down, but Chef starts engaging and
- 41:39Speaker 2: he does the whole dance party. Rue, instead of wanting
- 41:41Speaker 2: to go to bed, she's ready. She's like, we got
- 41:44Speaker 2: to play Sharon Sparkle Unicorns. We got to play a
- 41:46Speaker 2: board game. Get out the board game, set it up.
- 41:48Speaker 2: I think I'm going to play.
- 41:50Speaker 3: No.
- 41:50Speaker 2: She just wants her and Chef to play. It's her
- 41:53Speaker 2: and Chef versus the troll and Sharon Sparkle Unicorns. By
- 41:56Speaker 2: the way, great game. We've mentioned it before for the kit,
- 42:01Speaker 2: the dad kit. Dad hack, get Sharon Sparkle Unicorns. I'm
- 42:05Speaker 2: videoing because I'm sending it to the boys, keeping them
- 42:08Speaker 2: updated on how Chef is performing. They lose game one
- 42:11Speaker 2: of Share Sparkle Unicorns. Rue's trying to tell them that
- 42:14Speaker 2: it's okay.
- 42:14Speaker 1: It happens.
- 42:16Speaker 2: Rue's got to play again. They got to play to
- 42:18Speaker 2: where they beat the troll. It's around like 7.15, 7.20,
- 42:20Speaker 2: 7.30 at this point.
- 42:22Speaker 1: Late night.
- 42:23Speaker 2: I'm observing Chef because I'm seeing like, I've seen him
- 42:27Speaker 2: check his phone a couple times. He's being the most
- 42:30Speaker 2: respectful person.
- 42:31Speaker 1: As possible. But I know he's also in the middle
- 42:33Speaker 1: of working or finishing stuff up. Yeah. Right when he
- 42:35Speaker 1: checks his phone, Rue's grabbing, hey, chef, watch me, watch me.
- 42:38Speaker 1: We got to play four corners. We got to do this.
- 42:40Speaker 1: We got to do that. So I know chef has
- 42:42Speaker 1: been immersed the entire time for a good two hours. Yeah.
- 42:45Speaker 2: And so I'm looking at him when she's like, we
- 42:46Speaker 2: got to play again. Oh, you got to play a
- 42:48Speaker 2: second game. And I'm kind of side eyeing, seeing like
- 42:50Speaker 2: where his mental is at. Like, fuck, we got to,
- 42:52Speaker 2: I got to play another game. I thought maybe I'll
- 42:55Speaker 2: get to go home.
- 42:56Speaker 1: I don't know if I'm assuming that correctly. He's checking
- 42:58Speaker 1: the clock.
- 42:59Speaker 3: Oh, chef.
- 43:00Speaker 1: Like, oh, chef, you got to play another game.
- 43:02Speaker 2: Deke hits the chat and is like, I can't wait
- 43:04Speaker 2: as I'm keeping everybody updated on how he's been doing
- 43:06Speaker 2: and sending photos at dinner, dance party, him playing Sharon
- 43:09Speaker 2: Sparkle Unicorns.
- 43:10Speaker 1: They lost. Deke's like, I don't want to get ahead
- 43:13Speaker 1: of myself. I can't wait for story time. And I'm thinking, okay, yeah.
- 43:16Speaker 1: I'll offer up if he's still in the mood for
- 43:18Speaker 1: doing story time. Yeah, yeah. They win game two of
- 43:21Speaker 1: Sheriff's Barker Unicorns. All good. Oh, they did.
- 43:23Speaker 2: Get the milks. We're going upstairs. I just say to Chef,
- 43:26Speaker 2: I don't know if you have a story planned. There's
- 43:28Speaker 2: no expectation for you to stay any longer. He's like, oh,
- 43:32Speaker 2: I have a story. I can do story time.
- 43:34Speaker 1: I'm like, all right. We'll say less. Let's go upstairs.
- 43:37Speaker 1: We go and sit down and- We.
- 43:40Speaker 2: Got to go back to the playroom because Rue left
- 43:43Speaker 2: a stuffed animal or something back there.
- 43:45Speaker 1: Of course. We go back there.
- 43:46Speaker 2: Rue's showing him around like what goes down in the playroom,
- 43:49Speaker 2: everything else. Playroom's a mess. We go back in bed.
- 43:53Speaker 2: Chef kicks off story time. He had a whole story
- 43:56Speaker 2: planned out. Said he didn't listen to music on the
- 43:58Speaker 2: drive home.
- 43:59Speaker 1: Nothing.
- 43:59Speaker 2: All he thought about was how he could deliver a
- 44:01Speaker 2: story for Rue based on the experiences that I was
- 44:03Speaker 2: sharing last week's episode of you can get into a
- 44:06Speaker 2: horror film pretty quickly and On story time, unless you
- 44:10Speaker 2: have something prepped. So he's got all of his angles prepped.
- 44:12Speaker 2: He starts, mom comes in the room. Says, Rue, did
- 44:16Speaker 2: you clean up the playroom? I know she did because
- 44:19Speaker 2: we went back there. Dada didn't check Rue. I'm thinking,
- 44:22Speaker 2: all right, we'll just kind of clean up the playroom tomorrow.
- 44:24Speaker 2: I'm trying to get away with one. Fortunately, dad's name
- 44:27Speaker 2: didn't come up.
- 44:28Speaker 1: Rue didn't throw her old man under the bus.
- 44:29Speaker 2: Tells chef, looks over at chef, hey, I got to
- 44:32Speaker 2: go clean up the playroom. Like, dad, do you want
- 44:34Speaker 2: to come help me? So I tell chef to pause
- 44:36Speaker 2: his story. Chef's got to sit there while we go
- 44:38Speaker 2: back and.
- 44:38Speaker 1: Clean up the playroom. He's helping clean up.
- 44:40Speaker 2: You guys want me to help? I was like, no,
- 44:42Speaker 2: you stay there. Keep prepping mentally for your story time.
- 44:45Speaker 2: Because the scene is set.
- 44:46Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 44:48Speaker 2: And he gets into story time, tells about a 15-minute story.
- 44:52Speaker 1: It was good. I can tell Rue liked it.
- 44:56Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 44:56Speaker 2: But Rue didn't have very many questions afterwards. She wanted
- 44:59Speaker 2: Chef to read another story. She wants Chef to go
- 45:02Speaker 2: on to another story. There was this monkey named Murph.
- 45:05Speaker 2: So Chef's thinking on his feet that I tell you
- 45:07Speaker 2: that Murph the monkey also raced NASCAR. Gets into another
- 45:11Speaker 2: story with Rue and kind of just comes up with something.
- 45:13Speaker 2: Rue asks him a couple different questions. One, when the
- 45:16Speaker 2: good witch turned bad, why did she turn bad?
- 45:18Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah.
- 45:19Speaker 2: Chef had his point that all the kids, when she
- 45:22Speaker 2: was growing up, her friends were saying mean stuff to
- 45:25Speaker 2: her and that just made her mad. Rue has to
- 45:27Speaker 2: follow up, what were they saying to her? Chef didn't
- 45:31Speaker 2: have some go-to's.
- 45:32Speaker 1: Layers.
- 45:32Speaker 2: Yeah, Chef didn't have some go-to's. He didn't have some
- 45:35Speaker 2: 3D chess or level three.
- 45:36Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah.
- 45:37Speaker 2: So I forget what he said, but I'm in the
- 45:39Speaker 2: point in the story where I'm starting to laugh because
- 45:40Speaker 2: I'm filming the story.
- 45:43Speaker 1: Chef crushed it.
- 45:45Speaker 2: Did bedtime. Helped do bedtime. I lay with Rue after.
- 45:47Speaker 2: Rue wants me to read a story. Chef just told
- 45:50Speaker 2: you 20 minutes worth of stories. And so I lay
- 45:54Speaker 2: there with Rue. I allow Chef. I'm like, hey, you
- 45:55Speaker 2: can go. You know where the door is.
- 45:57Speaker 1: I'll stay up here. Dude, you're the man. He crushed it.
- 46:00Speaker 1: A plus. Can we, in this moment, if we can
- 46:04Speaker 1: mark down for Matty O on the time code, can
- 46:07Speaker 1: we run a little Chef story time?
- 46:10Speaker 2: Just for the people at home to see. Is that okay?
- 46:13Speaker 2: That's okay. I just think You're going to have to
- 46:17Speaker 2: fast track the story a little bit and get to
- 46:19Speaker 2: the main points.
- 46:20Speaker 1: Yeah, maybe just like... I don't want people to get
- 46:22Speaker 1: bored with the story. Maybe just like 10 seconds of
- 46:24Speaker 1: him doing it because just the visual of him in
- 46:27Speaker 1: that chair with lamp on and covers up to Rue's
- 46:31Speaker 1: nose is electric. Like Deke and I, knowing Chef and
- 46:38Speaker 1: knowing you is that much funnier. But for that to
- 46:41Speaker 1: play as well as it did online made me so
- 46:45Speaker 1: happy because I was... giggling. It was funny. Hard.
- 46:49Speaker 2: He was trying to get away with not doing the
- 46:50Speaker 2: witch voice and I'm like, hey, you gotta do... You
- 46:52Speaker 2: gotta do the voice?
- 46:53Speaker 1: Do you have the witch voice on video?
- 46:55Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 46:56Speaker 1: Okay, that's what we play. Is that how she sounds?
- 46:59Speaker 1: Or what's the evil?
- 47:01Speaker 4: You guys are all good.
- 47:03Speaker 1: I'm gonna curse this lake. And then she cursed the lake.
- 47:06Speaker 1: Extremely close to our dog story from Halloween last year.
- 47:10Speaker 1: He's got the same voice anytime he does a voice.
- 47:12Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 47:16Speaker 1: I love his voice too, because it is like a different,
- 47:19Speaker 1: deeper or higher pitch iteration of like the, when he
- 47:22Speaker 1: did the movie producer one time. And I was like, oh,
- 47:25Speaker 1: that kind of sounded like the bat. He goes higher.
- 47:29Speaker 1: He's got the bat. He does that for every voice. Yeah. Yeah.
- 47:33Speaker 2: It goes higher pitch and slightly changes his accent, but
- 47:36Speaker 2: that's basically it. That was the witch voice.
- 47:39Speaker 1: I'm a witch and I do this. And it's a
- 47:43Speaker 1: good voice. It's a good voice. Solid voice. Strong voice. Chef,
- 47:48Speaker 1: we love you, by the way. I hope you know
- 47:50Speaker 1: this is a celebration of Chef. Yeah, Chef crushed it.
- 47:54Speaker 1: That makes me happy. We have Jonathan Vea on Spotify said, Hey,
- 48:01Speaker 1: the world is your changing table, boys. That is a
- 48:04Speaker 1: follow-up to my incredible dad hack of if your kid
- 48:08Speaker 1: hates the changing table, just put them on the floor
- 48:11Speaker 1: and just change them on the floor. Just change them
- 48:13Speaker 1: on the floor. And they love it. The world is
- 48:16Speaker 1: our changing table. Dude, Nakey Baby, by the way, like
- 48:20Speaker 1: right out of the bath and we take Scarlett into
- 48:23Speaker 1: a room and we just set her bundled up in
- 48:26Speaker 1: the towel down on the ground and and we let
- 48:29Speaker 1: her unravel herself and just start going, that might be
- 48:33Speaker 1: some of my favorite five minutes of my day. Each
- 48:36Speaker 1: day when she's going around and is all excited after
- 48:39Speaker 1: her bath, that's a dad hack, dude. Just let them run.
- 48:43Speaker 1: You want an iteration to throw in for the fun? Please.
- 48:46Speaker 1: The dryer.
- 48:47Speaker 2: You got to enter the dryer when you wrap them
- 48:49Speaker 2: up in a towel. So when you wrap them in
- 48:51Speaker 2: a towel, Rue wants me to do, and Rue's just
- 48:53Speaker 2: so much bigger than Scotty. But I got to shake Rue,
- 48:55Speaker 2: but I put them in the dryer. All the dryers,
- 48:57Speaker 2: I get them wrapped because it's like they're cold coming out.
- 49:00Speaker 2: But it's like me going and kind of shaking them
- 49:03Speaker 2: everywhere and drying them off.
- 49:04Speaker 1: Oh my God. Added. My dumb ass was like, why
- 49:10Speaker 1: are you putting your kids in the dryer, Will? Come on, man.
- 49:14Speaker 1: Huberman said they can last three minutes in a dryer.
- 49:17Speaker 1: This is why we do this we do this every
- 49:21Speaker 1: night okay here's where we challenge ourselves getting out of
- 49:24Speaker 1: the tub getting that dryer when are you you're most
- 49:26Speaker 1: comfortable probably when you're sleeping right so we're gonna shock
- 49:29Speaker 1: the body right before we go in the rim You're
- 49:34Speaker 1: going to tumble around. You're going to be scared. You
- 49:36Speaker 1: can't die. You can't die in a drive. And you can.
- 49:41Speaker 1: So we just want to say that. We just want
- 49:43Speaker 1: to say that. Can't not put kids in a drive.
- 49:45Speaker 1: Can't put kids in a drive for legal purposes. Don't
- 49:49Speaker 1: do that. We have another, we have our last follow-up.
- 49:53Speaker 1: 21 Jeremy Kubel says, Will out here retelling the movie
- 49:58Speaker 1: Taken as a bedtime story. I'm all for it. Princess
- 50:02Speaker 1: Rue doesn't know who you are, but she will find you.
- 50:08Speaker 1: True that.
- 50:09Speaker 2: When I think, as I'm telling those stories last week,
- 50:11Speaker 2: and when I was telling that one, that is just
- 50:13Speaker 2: a horror film.
- 50:15Speaker 1: Oh, it was great. I loved every bit of it.
- 50:18Speaker 1: I think all of us here on set did. All
- 50:21Speaker 1: of us. All of us adults loved it. All the parents.
- 50:25Speaker 2: Listening to me fumble through just a horror film of
- 50:27Speaker 2: a story, not knowing where to go next. He's sharpening
- 50:30Speaker 2: a sword in the cabin with a little smoke coming
- 50:32Speaker 2: out of the chimney.
- 50:34Speaker 1: That's just when you pan to the couple that's listening
- 50:36Speaker 1: to us in the car and the dad's introducing the
- 50:39Speaker 1: wife's like, jesus you don't tell our kids that dude
- 50:43Speaker 1: oh no no you guys are idiots that's why it's
- 50:50Speaker 1: a good show you are so good for my husband
- 50:53Speaker 1: because he gets to learn what not to do yeah
- 50:56Speaker 1: we are at the end of the day we're just
- 50:58Speaker 1: kicking and screaming you just you do the opposite of
- 51:01Speaker 1: what we say and you'll have success yeah Should we
- 51:05Speaker 1: get into Trey Kennedy? Oh, before we go. Yes, yes, yes.
- 51:09Speaker 2: Always ask yourself what you're doing for this month. What
- 51:14Speaker 2: are you doing to embrace the spook? Whether it's a
- 51:18Speaker 2: nice little... fall festivity on the weekends whether it's shopping
- 51:22Speaker 2: at bwtb.com to get these onesies with spooktober we got
- 51:26Speaker 2: a lot of fun merchandise you see this little football
- 51:29Speaker 2: pumpkin hat up top we got a lot of fun
- 51:32Speaker 2: stuff at bwtb.com a papa team six spooktober theme shirt.
- 51:37Speaker 1: Very spooky stuff on bwtb.com yes you have the hat
- 51:41Speaker 1: you're wearing the hat i'm wearing yep the shirt i'm
- 51:44Speaker 1: wearing the hoodie deke's wearing All on BWTV.com. All on BWTV.com.
- 51:50Speaker 1: And our candles are anti-monster candles, which these really do.
- 51:55Speaker 1: Fun little game with the kids. These are anti-monster candles.
- 51:58Speaker 1: It's like a nice little like almost cinnamon. There's two
- 52:01Speaker 1: variations of it. Really? Yeah. You can light it while
- 52:04Speaker 1: you're doing story time.
- 52:05Speaker 2: Obviously, you got to blow it out before you leave
- 52:07Speaker 2: the room, but you just tell them the scent, everything
- 52:10Speaker 2: going into the room.
- 52:11Speaker 1: That's what keeps the monsters out. It worked for me.
- 52:14Speaker 1: My brother did that for me. You get aerosol deodorant.
- 52:16Speaker 1: And he said it was monster repellent. He'd spray it
- 52:19Speaker 1: in our closet and underneath the bed before we go
- 52:22Speaker 1: to bed. Worked like a charm. He's like, all right,
- 52:24Speaker 1: now I got to get your face. Come here. Open up.
- 52:29Speaker 1: I don't know. But rep the brand. Subscribe. Leave comments.
- 52:36Speaker 1: One last thing. Okay. I did say in that episode
- 52:39Speaker 1: with Trey that you would be grading my intro pretty hard.
- 52:43Speaker 1: I think that could be a good follow-up for next week.
- 52:47Speaker 1: Were you nervous? Extremely.
- 52:49Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 52:50Speaker 1: Extremely. I tried to lock in. Yeah. I want your
- 52:56Speaker 1: grading as far as that goes. Okay. I got you.
- 52:59Speaker 1: Do you want to tell him real quick or do
- 53:01Speaker 1: you want him to find out about the Trey? So
- 53:03Speaker 1: we had told you that Sherman Trey had met before.
- 53:05Speaker 1: Does that spoil it though for the episode? I would
- 53:09Speaker 1: think it does.
- 53:09Speaker 5: So once we hang up here, but guys, you'll all
- 53:11Speaker 5: find out on this episode that Sherm had met Trey
- 53:14Speaker 5: once before.
- 53:15Speaker 1: A young buck, a young ST6-er intoxicated Sherm.
- 53:23Speaker 2: So is this a moment you look back on and
- 53:25Speaker 2: you're excited that it happened or you're embarrassed that it happened?
- 53:29Speaker 1: I stand by it. I wasn't embarrassed to tell him
- 53:33Speaker 1: about it. It was like a very much, we laughed
- 53:35Speaker 1: very hard. Of like, I can't believe. So one of
- 53:38Speaker 1: your better moments in life. I stand by it. I
- 53:44Speaker 1: stand by it. Oh, I can't wait. You get to
- 53:46Speaker 1: see what that is in our interview with Trey. Take
- 53:50Speaker 1: out the trash. PT Sickos, we interrupt this episode to

- 55:42Speaker 1: my upper deck. Usually when we're throwing in our Lucys,
- 55:46Speaker 1: I might go with the 12 milligram espresso. I do
- 55:50Speaker 1: like the cinnamon flavor a lot too, as well as
- 55:52Speaker 1: their mint flavor. But when I do go down to
- 55:55Speaker 1: the eight milligrams, I love these breakers. because they got
- 55:58Speaker 1: a little breaker blast ball in the middle of them
- 56:01Speaker 1: that you can bite down either right when you put

- 56:59Speaker 1: be watching this and he is big on the intros.
- 57:02Speaker 1: I'm hiding our guests for now because I got to
- 57:04Speaker 1: rip this intro to make Will Compton proud. Papa Team 6,
- 57:10Speaker 1: welcome to another episode of For the Dads. We hope
- 57:13Speaker 1: your trash is taken out. We hope your balls are empty.

- 57:41Speaker 1: where you can write in longer stories. We will read
- 57:43Speaker 1: those out at the end of the episode. Maybe not
- 57:46Speaker 1: this episode, though, because I feel like we'll do a
- 57:49Speaker 1: whole lot of talking with our guest. We also have 601thedads,
- 57:52Speaker 1: our voicemail. where you can call in, leave a voicemail.
- 57:57Speaker 1: We'll listen to a couple of those, but we have
- 58:00Speaker 1: a very special guest. I am very excited and I'm
- 58:03Speaker 1: a little short of breath because it is the amazing,
- 58:07Speaker 1: the wonderful Trey Kennedy. Wow.
- 58:09Speaker 3: Wow.
- 58:10Speaker 1: What an intro.
- 58:12Speaker 5: Wait, how many intros have you done? Is that my
- 58:14Speaker 5: second one? So that's pretty, like every once in a
- 58:17Speaker 5: while he'll bounce in, but that's your second one.
- 58:18Speaker 1: That's what I'm saying. Yeah. Second one ever. Nailed it.
- 58:20Speaker 1: Nailed it. Thanks for having me. I'm here. Dude, the
- 58:23Speaker 1: head felt hot, like halfway through it. I was like,
- 58:26Speaker 1: I know if I just get through the intro, everything
- 58:28Speaker 1: will roll down the hill. You really gassed me up. Yeah.
- 58:31Speaker 4: They pan to me and they go, Oh, I was
- 58:34Speaker 4: like Travis Kelsey or something, but I'm here.
- 58:36Speaker 1: I look kind of like him. If you squint. And
- 58:39Speaker 1: thanks for having me, fellas. Yeah, I know. You guys
- 58:41Speaker 1: hit me up and you're like, we won't be there.
- 58:43Speaker 1: Do you still want to come? Guys, guys, thank yourself
- 58:46Speaker 1: more highly of that. Can you imagine? I just leave
- 58:48Speaker 1: you on scene.
- 58:49Speaker 3: I'm out.
- 58:50Speaker 5: There was a part of me when I said, because
- 58:52Speaker 5: we talked and they have their ESPN show. And I
- 58:55Speaker 5: was like, oh man, like there's a chance we got
- 58:57Speaker 5: to reschedule. And Will was just like, give him the option.
- 58:59Speaker 5: Like he's, he's a podcaster.
- 59:00Speaker 1: He's a comedian.
- 59:01Speaker 5: He gets it. And when I sent that DM, I
- 59:02Speaker 5: like regretted it. I was like, if he says no, dude,
- 59:05Speaker 5: we're not cool.
- 59:05Speaker 1: And this sucks. It is a risk.
- 59:07Speaker 4: No, but it is courteous of you, but no, I
- 59:09Speaker 4: wouldn't do that. i wouldn't i get it but i
- 59:11Speaker 4: know i wouldn't i'm glad to be here now i'm
- 59:12Speaker 4: i'm in a spot let's go where would i've sat
- 59:15Speaker 4: if he was here you would still be there okay
- 59:18Speaker 4: well uh i'd be right here will would be right
- 59:20Speaker 4: here or.
- 59:21Speaker 1: Switch that we switch that for will's posture that is
- 59:23Speaker 1: that is yes yes he would get a little too
- 59:26Speaker 1: locked into the gas so we've we've had him worked
- 59:28Speaker 1: out to the outside gotcha But third time we've had
- 59:32Speaker 1: a guest, first time we've had someone outside of football. Wow.
- 59:37Speaker 1: We have a comedian. Can you play in the NFL?
- 59:38Speaker 1: I am outside of football for sure.
- 59:40Speaker 4: So I played a couple downs in seventh grade, but
- 59:45Speaker 4: I haven't touched the NFL.
- 59:47Speaker 1: So glad to be here. And did you talk any
- 59:50Speaker 1: poke talk with Coop? He is a fellow poke.
- 59:53Speaker 4: I am a huge poke. I haven't talked with him
- 59:56Speaker 4: about it, but we're fired up because we're back.
- 1:00:00Speaker 1: That's what it's looking like. Yeah.
- 1:00:03Speaker 4: Oklahoma State, we'd lost 21 straight FBS games. Just the
- 1:00:09Speaker 4: lowest of the low. And then we lost game one
- 1:00:11Speaker 4: of the season. Me and my buddy were just in
- 1:00:13Speaker 4: the group text like, what have we done? We thought
- 1:00:16Speaker 4: we were going to be back. This guy stinks. That's
- 1:00:19Speaker 4: what you do as a football fan. You just get
- 1:00:21Speaker 4: rid of him. I was sending like drew mess to
- 1:00:23Speaker 4: make her memes as JJ McCarthy. You know, you know,
- 1:00:26Speaker 4: he's like, he's like AI. It is like number nine.
- 1:00:28Speaker 4: I'm like, let's get this.
- 1:00:29Speaker 1: Guy out of here.
- 1:00:29Speaker 4: And now I'm like, now I'm his biggest fan ever.
- 1:00:32Speaker 4: I go, Oh, this guy might be drafted. Number one,
- 1:00:34Speaker 4: one day. I mean, I take it back. Um, no,
- 1:00:38Speaker 4: it's exciting to finally be a poke gun. He got
- 1:00:40Speaker 4: us a lot of good years, but it's new era
- 1:00:43Speaker 4: Morris time.
- 1:00:44Speaker 1: Trey. I have a couple of things to dive in
- 1:00:46Speaker 1: with you on a personal level before we get into
- 1:00:48Speaker 1: the episode. Okay. I want to start with an apology.
- 1:00:52Speaker 1: That's something I do a lot on this show. Okay.
- 1:00:55Speaker 1: Good dad. That is a dad hack. That might be
- 1:00:59Speaker 1: our first dad hack episode. Trey, do you remember being
- 1:01:03Speaker 1: at a Baylor game in Waco and a lot of
- 1:01:07Speaker 1: people getting really upset that you were in the student
- 1:01:10Speaker 1: section and they started chanting, kick him out, kick him out?
- 1:01:13Speaker 1: No way. Have we met before? Like from afar?
- 1:01:17Speaker 3: No.
- 1:01:22Speaker 4: What?
- 1:01:24Speaker 1: I haven't told anyone here that story.
- 1:01:26Speaker 4: Me and my buddies, we, there's a year we went
- 1:01:30Speaker 4: to every away game in college. So we're down in Waco.
- 1:01:33Speaker 4: And we were, so we were with some Baylor. One
- 1:01:36Speaker 4: of my buddies, good friends from high school went to Baylor.
- 1:01:39Speaker 4: So we're with her and her crew in y'all student section.
- 1:01:41Speaker 4: And we were removed by security because y'all made such
- 1:01:44Speaker 4: a fuss. And did you lead the charge or can
- 1:01:47Speaker 4: you proudly say you're the leader of that?
- 1:01:49Speaker 1: I wasn't the leader, but I was early. You were
- 1:01:51Speaker 1: a follower. I was early.
- 1:01:53Speaker 4: Well, I will say, do you remember, I was with
- 1:01:57Speaker 4: one of my buddies who's like a particularly big, loud,
- 1:02:01Speaker 4: annoying person.
- 1:02:02Speaker 1: Do you remember him? Don't remember him. Okay. But you remember,
- 1:02:05Speaker 1: you go, wait, that's a vine guy. Get it out
- 1:02:09Speaker 1: of here. It truly, for my perspective, It was, I
- 1:02:14Speaker 1: see orange in the student section.
- 1:02:16Speaker 4: Which is, to your credit, I mean, I'm ripping the
- 1:02:19Speaker 4: guy's head off if he's in Baylor Green in my
- 1:02:22Speaker 4: student section.
- 1:02:22Speaker 1: For sure. Yeah. To your credit. So stuff is, I mean,
- 1:02:27Speaker 1: everybody's K cam out. K cam out to your defense.
- 1:02:33Speaker 1: you were being so like such a gentleman about it. Goodness.
- 1:02:36Speaker 1: Let's go. You were not fighting anybody. Security came down
- 1:02:38Speaker 1: and talked to you and you pretty much looked like
- 1:02:40Speaker 1: you were like, I'm ready to kind of get out
- 1:02:43Speaker 1: of here. Can I please walk out of here?
- 1:02:45Speaker 4: It was getting bad. What my buddy was getting fired
- 1:02:47Speaker 4: up and yelling at y'all. And, and I, cause I
- 1:02:50Speaker 4: get it though. I go, dude, we're in their student section.
- 1:02:52Speaker 4: We can't, we're just going to fight someone instantly if
- 1:02:55Speaker 4: we're going to be like a hole. So I was like,
- 1:02:58Speaker 4: We need to remove ourselves. And I don't even remember the,
- 1:03:02Speaker 4: was that when y'all were good?
- 1:03:03Speaker 1: That was when we were good. Yeah. So it was
- 1:03:06Speaker 1: a good game. It was a good game. Did we
- 1:03:07Speaker 1: get the dub? I think y'all did. Yeah, I think
- 1:03:09Speaker 1: we did. I think you did. And I think that
- 1:03:11Speaker 1: that is just how it works in the world of karma.
- 1:03:14Speaker 1: It wasn't until you're walking out there. Everybody was like,
- 1:03:18Speaker 1: that's the vine guy. That's the vine guy.
- 1:03:20Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:03:21Speaker 4: The vine guy thing in college. Like it worked against
- 1:03:24Speaker 4: me more than for me for sure. You know, having
- 1:03:27Speaker 4: millions of followers now is pretty cool, but in 2014,
- 1:03:30Speaker 4: it was a little less cool.
- 1:03:35Speaker 1: I will always think that it's cool because Vine was
- 1:03:39Speaker 1: like where I started to actually post fun, creative stuff.
- 1:03:43Speaker 1: Like that was my beginning point of, hey, I like this.
- 1:03:48Speaker 1: I like tooling around on the internet a little bit.
- 1:03:51Speaker 1: So a lot of your early stuff, I loved. Sick.
- 1:03:54Speaker 1: A lot of your stuff on Vine, I've like... whatever
- 1:03:56Speaker 1: that app was that let you go back on vine.
- 1:03:59Speaker 1: Oh yeah. That you could like pull up.
- 1:04:01Speaker 3: Right.
- 1:04:02Speaker 1: That's finally done.
- 1:04:04Speaker 4: Sadly, I'm kind of glad because some of my stuff was,
- 1:04:08Speaker 4: but that's wild that you cross paths on that way.
- 1:04:13Speaker 1: We had a great time on Waco. Okay, good. Great time.
- 1:04:15Speaker 1: I feel bad about it. And I called our mutual friend,
- 1:04:18Speaker 1: Scott Caldwell. And I told him that story was like,
- 1:04:23Speaker 1: I have a little bit of a history with Trey.
- 1:04:25Speaker 1: I want to make sure I get that knocked out
- 1:04:28Speaker 1: at the very beginning. I don't want that to affect
- 1:04:30Speaker 1: the podcast. That's how it comes to me when I
- 1:04:31Speaker 1: see you face to face. I just leave. I'm furious. Yeah.
- 1:04:34Speaker 4: You.
- 1:04:34Speaker 1: You're the guy. You're the guy. We had a great
- 1:04:38Speaker 1: time in Waco. Yeah. I've been to every big, the
- 1:04:40Speaker 1: former Big 12 games. campus.
- 1:04:42Speaker 4: But Waco Treat as well. Learning curve, dry campus. Yeah,
- 1:04:46Speaker 4: dry campus. Need to figure that out. They're fixing a lot.
- 1:04:49Speaker 4: Shout out our new AD, Doug McNamee. He's getting a
- 1:04:52Speaker 4: lot of stuff taken care of with the tailgate scene.
- 1:04:55Speaker 4: So that is getting fixed.
- 1:04:56Speaker 1: It was the first couple years of the stadium. It
- 1:04:59Speaker 1: was a beautiful stadium. Thank you. Thank you. Another connection there,
- 1:05:05Speaker 1: Will Compton. For anyone at home, Will might hate me
- 1:05:08Speaker 1: for saying this. Will Compton, very big on Vines. Were
- 1:05:11Speaker 1: y'all aware of this? Was he? Yeah, yeah, a little bit.
- 1:05:13Speaker 1: What was he doing? Some awesome skits and sketches, like
- 1:05:18Speaker 1: very similar to what you were doing, but while he
- 1:05:20Speaker 1: was at Nebraska wearing Nebraska stuff. So y'all would have
- 1:05:24Speaker 1: bonded over that tremendously. And then last thing I wanted
- 1:05:28Speaker 1: to get out of the way, shout out Jake Triplett.
- 1:05:30Speaker 2: Wow.
- 1:05:30Speaker 1: Yeah, everyone knows that guy. How do you know him?
- 1:05:32Speaker 1: I went on a road trip from Big Bend National
- 1:05:35Speaker 1: Park all the way to Chicago with Jake, where we
- 1:05:39Speaker 1: drove in my Tahoe with one other guy. and we
- 1:05:42Speaker 1: had an air mattress in the back of the Tahoe,
- 1:05:44Speaker 1: and we would switch passenger to keep driver awake, and
- 1:05:48Speaker 1: then someone sleeping in the back. That's the best. I've
- 1:05:50Speaker 1: done that before. And we just rotated. Yeah. How'd you know?
- 1:05:53Speaker 1: Did you meet him there? That sounds like you. Met
- 1:05:57Speaker 1: him truly, I think, a week before we went on
- 1:06:01Speaker 1: the trip. Yeah. Which sounds very Jake Triplett.
- 1:06:03Speaker 4: Very Jake Triplett. Everyone knows Jake Triplett. Shout out, Jake.
- 1:06:06Speaker 4: Shout out, he's a pickleball guy now.
- 1:06:08Speaker 1: I know.
- 1:06:09Speaker 4: Making pickleball content. He worked with me for me for years.
- 1:06:13Speaker 4: Sad to see him go, but I knew he'd do
- 1:06:14Speaker 4: his own thing. But yeah, he knows everyone. Now he
- 1:06:16Speaker 4: knows people in Asia. I don't know what he's doing,
- 1:06:18Speaker 4: but he's a dad now. Oh, I did not know that.
- 1:06:23Speaker 4: Shout out Jake Triplett. And he worked with you on
- 1:06:27Speaker 4: Correct Opinion for a while? He started as my videographer
- 1:06:30Speaker 4: in 2018. And it evolved to, you know, helping me
- 1:06:37Speaker 4: shooting at it, helping me to write stuff, kind of
- 1:06:39Speaker 4: being in stuff. Then it evolved to my podcast co-host
- 1:06:44Speaker 4: for years. Kind of, yeah, sounds like a lot like you,
- 1:06:47Speaker 4: some of these guys up in here. It's just, he
- 1:06:49Speaker 4: kind of. kept elevating. And then we, we did like
- 1:06:51Speaker 4: a golf channel together for a bit.
- 1:06:53Speaker 1: Uh, he's a hilarious dude. And yeah, so now he's,
- 1:06:55Speaker 1: I knew he always would, but he's doing his own
- 1:06:56Speaker 1: thing now. That's the one thing that I just from
- 1:07:00Speaker 1: doing research, but also knowing you on the internet from vine,
- 1:07:03Speaker 1: I feel like you touch so many different things. Uh,
- 1:07:07Speaker 1: I know it's like, we're old, man. I feel like
- 1:07:09Speaker 1: an OG.
- 1:07:09Speaker 4: I've been like making viral videos for like 12 13 years.
- 1:07:14Speaker 1: That's the constant though that's crazy that's the constant through
- 1:07:17Speaker 1: everything that you've touched the viral videos have always been there.
- 1:07:20Speaker 4: Thank goodness i know that's i can't believe this is
- 1:07:22Speaker 4: the job i got i don't know if y'all feel
- 1:07:24Speaker 4: this i bet you do everyone in this line of
- 1:07:26Speaker 4: work feels that you know this is one week we're
- 1:07:29Speaker 4: gonna pull up the report it's like no one listened
- 1:07:31Speaker 4: uh-huh yeah you just feel that right it doesn't make
- 1:07:33Speaker 4: sense i just announced new tour dates and i go
- 1:07:36Speaker 4: There's zero tickets, I bet. Zero.
- 1:07:38Speaker 1: And then you get the report. You go, hey, we're
- 1:07:40Speaker 1: still doing it. Yes. It's always this fear because it's
- 1:07:42Speaker 1: too good to be true.
- 1:07:43Speaker 3: Yes.
- 1:07:44Speaker 1: And we just took Trey through our warehouse and we're
- 1:07:47Speaker 1: showing him the haunted house that my boss gave me.
- 1:07:50Speaker 1: Way too big of a budget to put up a
- 1:07:53Speaker 1: haunted house in. And we sit here every single day
- 1:07:56Speaker 1: and we work. And now they're in Lincoln, Nebraska doing
- 1:07:59Speaker 1: an ESPN show where like thousands of Husker fans are
- 1:08:03Speaker 1: like there to see Will Compton. And you forget about
- 1:08:06Speaker 1: that when you're just in this little warehouse every single day.
- 1:08:10Speaker 4: It's a, I mean, if there's, there was no other
- 1:08:13Speaker 4: reality I would have encountered than what I did when
- 1:08:15Speaker 4: I pulled up nine white guys came out and greeted me.
- 1:08:19Speaker 4: They walked me through a garage and, And I go, yes.
- 1:08:23Speaker 4: If there was anything different, I wouldn't disappoint. On a
- 1:08:25Speaker 4: scale of one to dude vibes, how much are the
- 1:08:28Speaker 4: dude vibes here?
- 1:08:28Speaker 1: Off the charts, 11. It's awesome. We have a show
- 1:08:32Speaker 1: titled The Locker Room, a show titled For the Dads,
- 1:08:36Speaker 1: and a show titled Bustin' with the Boys.
- 1:08:39Speaker 5: As you say, what's crazier is that Coop and I
- 1:08:41Speaker 5: were about three minutes away from going outside to throw
- 1:08:42Speaker 5: a football before you got here.
- 1:08:44Speaker 1: I was like, that's too on the nose. Yeah, we
- 1:08:47Speaker 1: just do it, but I was like, we can't just
- 1:08:48Speaker 1: do that. It's just arm wrestling. What's up, man? Come
- 1:08:50Speaker 1: on in. What? Yeah. So to get into our first
- 1:08:55Speaker 1: dad question, as a co-host on a dad podcast. you're
- 1:09:00Speaker 1: now doing Correct Opinion with your wife, Katie, correct? That's right. Yeah.
- 1:09:04Speaker 4: So my podcast has really evolved. So now it's me
- 1:09:06Speaker 4: and my wife, Katie. We miss Jake dearly, but it's
- 1:09:10Speaker 4: definitely evolved into a pretty good parenting vibe because we're
- 1:09:14Speaker 4: in it.
- 1:09:15Speaker 1: One thing about this show is we jokingly, Will and I,
- 1:09:18Speaker 1: will say this is our escape from our wives, where
- 1:09:21Speaker 1: we often get the information wrong every single time. Of course.
- 1:09:25Speaker 1: We get to hear about it later. That's called our
- 1:09:27Speaker 1: after pod report, APR. That's not on the cheat sheet
- 1:09:31Speaker 1: that I provided you. I'll write it down.
- 1:09:34Speaker 3: APR.
- 1:09:34Speaker 4: APR.
- 1:09:35Speaker 1: There's a couple on here. I can't wait to figure
- 1:09:37Speaker 1: out more. What, what is the stress? What's the stadium pulse?
- 1:09:41Speaker 1: Like doing a dad podcast, a husband podcast with your
- 1:09:45Speaker 1: wife across from you on the mic.
- 1:09:48Speaker 4: Oh, we, we fight throughout the episode. Like we, the
- 1:09:53Speaker 4: one we did the other day, like she was furious.
- 1:09:55Speaker 4: And then like in, she was like, I was like
- 1:09:56Speaker 4: legit mad at you during that.
- 1:09:57Speaker 1: And I go, yeah, I know. I'm sorry. And yeah.
- 1:09:59Speaker 4: So, but it's not, it's, and I joke too. It's like,
- 1:10:04Speaker 4: some of the only like, you couldn't like concentrated times
- 1:10:07Speaker 4: we speak anyway. It's like, we're so busy with three
- 1:10:10Speaker 4: little kids. I'm like, it's kind of nice. We had
- 1:10:12Speaker 4: a time to talk. And, uh, yeah, we're, we're like that.
- 1:10:15Speaker 4: We just, we're blunt with each other. We just have
- 1:10:17Speaker 4: it out. So sometimes I, I just make fun of
- 1:10:20Speaker 4: her too much. She's like, you need to shut up. But, uh, No,
- 1:10:23Speaker 4: I like to give takes on what moms should do, too.
- 1:10:27Speaker 4: And we should do that because they love that.
- 1:10:29Speaker 1: And we know. Welcome to the show, sir. Welcome to
- 1:10:33Speaker 1: the show. Okay, I'm ready. They love our advice. They
- 1:10:35Speaker 1: scream for it in the comments. Yep, I believe it.
- 1:10:39Speaker 1: So you just mentioned a dad hack there, though. That
- 1:10:41Speaker 1: actually is so sick that you get some alone time
- 1:10:44Speaker 1: with the wifey, even if it is via a podcast.
- 1:10:47Speaker 3: 100%.
- 1:10:47Speaker 1: It is nice. And it's really.
- 1:10:49Speaker 4: it is a fun, fun thing because my podcast was
- 1:10:52Speaker 4: me and Jake fellow comedian, just kind of dudes being
- 1:10:55Speaker 4: funny and just trying to talk about whatever. And then
- 1:10:58Speaker 4: my wife would join every now and then as like
- 1:11:00Speaker 4: a cute thing, but then the fans liked it. And
- 1:11:02Speaker 4: then it evolved to Jake, leave it now it's me
- 1:11:05Speaker 4: and her. And it's, we weren't a good flow now.
- 1:11:08Speaker 4: You know, it was a tough transition, you know, like
- 1:11:10Speaker 4: with anything, just like people miss Jake. And now this
- 1:11:14Speaker 4: is more of my wife, but she's done a great
- 1:11:16Speaker 4: job and it's cool to, it's been really special to
- 1:11:18Speaker 4: have that thing together as husband and wife because she
- 1:11:21Speaker 4: stayed home mom.
- 1:11:22Speaker 1: She's in it.
- 1:11:23Speaker 4: She could feel, it's cool to watch her kind of,
- 1:11:26Speaker 4: you know, she's DM me stuff like we could talk
- 1:11:28Speaker 4: about this on the pod.
- 1:11:29Speaker 1: You know, it's cute. It's fun.
- 1:11:30Speaker 4: And she's, and then of course now everyone likes the
- 1:11:34Speaker 4: comments are filled with women just like taking her side.
- 1:11:37Speaker 4: And I'm like, now I'm, now I've got nothing but
- 1:11:40Speaker 4: happy for her. That's what it's all about. I was
- 1:11:42Speaker 4: checking the comments. on two of your latest episodes.
- 1:11:46Speaker 1: Bro there's like do they even like me katie couldn't
- 1:11:50Speaker 1: agree more oh my gosh katie's so right try to.
- 1:11:53Speaker 4: Stop interrupting stop listening you know you go oh you
- 1:11:58Speaker 4: need to take it easy on katie yeah.
- 1:12:00Speaker 5: Oh do you ever play the uh respectfully of course
- 1:12:03Speaker 5: they're like i'm a bigger creator babe like.
- 1:12:04Speaker 4: Yeah i put in put her in her place i've
- 1:12:07Speaker 4: been doing this for a decade What do you know?
- 1:12:10Speaker 1: Yeah. That's a gong rip, by the way. That would
- 1:12:14Speaker 1: be a gong rip. Do I hit it? Yeah, go
- 1:12:16Speaker 1: for it. Oh, that was soft. I need to do
- 1:12:18Speaker 1: that better. Well done. Gong rip, gong rip. okay on
- 1:12:24Speaker 1: on um you and your wife katie um just doing
- 1:12:27Speaker 1: some research on you guys you are a father of
- 1:12:31Speaker 1: three three now but you are a father of three
- 1:12:34Speaker 1: under three which means you had to do two under
- 1:12:36Speaker 1: two before that yes sir that is a common comment
- 1:12:40Speaker 1: question need advice please help oh god what we do
- 1:12:44Speaker 1: from our listeners Not to put people who have two
- 1:12:47Speaker 1: under two. Okay. Okay. Will for, uh, Will was like
- 1:12:52Speaker 1: on the very tail end of two under two. Um,
- 1:12:55Speaker 1: so he has some good notes there. That's the big
- 1:12:58Speaker 1: thing about us. Two hundred tours. Hey, you better. Hey,
- 1:13:01Speaker 1: there's no almost. Okay. You got to be there. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah.
- 1:13:05Speaker 1: What about the three under three years? Yeah.
- 1:13:07Speaker 4: It's like, Hey, well, you know, I almost made it
- 1:13:08Speaker 4: to the league, but you know, practice squad.
- 1:13:10Speaker 1: No, you're in or out. Okay.
- 1:13:11Speaker 4: I'm 202. Sounds like he's not. So if you ever
- 1:13:14Speaker 4: get advice on it, that's wrong. I have nine, 18
- 1:13:17Speaker 4: months apart, two under 18 months.
- 1:13:19Speaker 1: Oh, Trey. And we did that on purpose. That's what
- 1:13:23Speaker 1: people's first question, right? They go. Yeah.
- 1:13:25Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:13:25Speaker 1: We did that. It was the plane. Oh my gosh. Yeah,
- 1:13:28Speaker 1: it is nuts. It's nuts. Cause you have one, right?
- 1:13:31Speaker 1: I have one. She's a year and three months.
- 1:13:34Speaker 4: Are y'all trying to crank one out soon or you
- 1:13:36Speaker 4: don't know?
- 1:13:38Speaker 1: I don't know. Good question. And we'll leave it at that.
- 1:13:41Speaker 1: We'll leave it at that for the listeners. But we
- 1:13:44Speaker 1: do want two or three. We do want two or three.
- 1:13:47Speaker 3: Awesome.
- 1:13:48Speaker 1: And we're loving where Scarlett's at, but also the idea
- 1:13:52Speaker 1: of having a fresh new little biscuit is, daunting it
- 1:13:57Speaker 1: is daunting it's it's crazy it makes the interstellar video
- 1:14:02Speaker 1: that you made where you're looking through the bookcase yeah
- 1:14:06Speaker 1: the younger you being like dude i can't believe he's
- 1:14:08Speaker 1: not going out with us because of his kid.
- 1:14:11Speaker 4: Oh yeah yeah i'm reflecting back on like if you
- 1:14:13Speaker 4: could take back what you used to say when you
- 1:14:15Speaker 4: had one or before you had kids i had every
- 1:14:19Speaker 4: dad's been there every parent i said some crazy stuff
- 1:14:22Speaker 4: before i was like they can't I genuinely was like,
- 1:14:25Speaker 4: it can't be that. These people, you don't sleep. Like,
- 1:14:29Speaker 4: give me a break.
- 1:14:29Speaker 1: I was saying all these things. Why wouldn't he sleep?
- 1:14:32Speaker 1: I don't get that. I'm like, oh, he doesn't eat? Like,
- 1:14:36Speaker 1: make him eat. Like, I don't care. You make him
- 1:14:38Speaker 1: eat what you want him to eat. Like, I said
- 1:14:40Speaker 1: all these things. I really meant it. It's so humbling.
- 1:14:43Speaker 1: If you want to get stabbed in the face, I
- 1:14:45Speaker 1: think that might be the perfect thing to say to
- 1:14:47Speaker 1: Will Compton is you just make him. I don't understand
- 1:14:50Speaker 1: why they're not eating. it's been 10 episodes in a
- 1:14:54Speaker 1: row now that i feel like picky one dude the.
- 1:14:57Speaker 4: Picky ones will break you dude my boy i've done
- 1:14:59Speaker 4: some like you talk about dad hack saying sorry you
- 1:15:02Speaker 4: know a couple like bore a lot i just said
- 1:15:05Speaker 4: my son i'll be like i really gotta apologize for
- 1:15:06Speaker 4: that because i did some like you're gonna you just
- 1:15:08Speaker 4: won't eat and he just he won like he was
- 1:15:11Speaker 4: like he was he went so long without eating he
- 1:15:14Speaker 4: was starting to get like lethargic You.
- 1:15:16Speaker 3: Know what I mean?
- 1:15:17Speaker 1: You know what I mean? I was like, he was
- 1:15:18Speaker 1: like sad, sad. I'm like, this is what you're, you're hungry.
- 1:15:21Speaker 1: This is the option. You're hungry.
- 1:15:22Speaker 4: The, you know, cause they, some people swear by that
- 1:15:24Speaker 4: and it just, it depends on the kid. And after
- 1:15:26Speaker 4: like missing three meals, I felt like he went from
- 1:15:28Speaker 4: crying to just kind of tired. I go, Oh my goodness.
- 1:15:31Speaker 4: Am I like, is this legal? And I was just like,
- 1:15:33Speaker 4: whatever you want, dude, I've never done that again.
- 1:15:35Speaker 1: I'm like, sorry.
- 1:15:36Speaker 4: That's what's up about the firstborn. You make a lot
- 1:15:38Speaker 4: of mistakes with the firstborn. With a boy too. You know,
- 1:15:42Speaker 4: it's easier to do that to my daughter.
- 1:15:45Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:15:45Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:15:45Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:15:47Speaker 4: I told my wife that recently where i was like
- 1:15:50Speaker 4: you don't know this but in my head when i
- 1:15:52Speaker 4: tell eva my little girl i make eva we don't
- 1:15:55Speaker 4: don't hit your brother say sorry when i do that
- 1:15:57Speaker 4: in my head i'm like so proud of myself like
- 1:16:00Speaker 4: i so don't want to get on her my son
- 1:16:02Speaker 4: i'll just like for any reason i'll it's so true
- 1:16:05Speaker 4: my daughter i'm like i can't believe i just reprimanded
- 1:16:08Speaker 4: my daughter like i'm an amazing dad.
- 1:16:10Speaker 1: And with your boy, you're probably like, Oh, it's funny.
- 1:16:13Speaker 1: You look like you're starving, but you said you weren't hungry.
- 1:16:15Speaker 1: So I don't know, but you look like you're about
- 1:16:17Speaker 1: to fall asleep at the table.
- 1:16:18Speaker 4: Yeah, dude. I, it's happened. So I will never forget this. My,
- 1:16:23Speaker 4: you get that two month old shots, right? Really sad.
- 1:16:25Speaker 4: And the two month old shots and they put a
- 1:16:27Speaker 4: little bandaid on it. My son, two months old, he
- 1:16:30Speaker 4: had those band-aids on. I just rip them off.
- 1:16:33Speaker 1: He's fine.
- 1:16:34Speaker 4: My daughter, I, I got soapy water and I painstakingly took...
- 1:16:38Speaker 4: You okay, princess?
- 1:16:39Speaker 1: Yeah, and it hit me right then. I go, oh, man.
- 1:16:41Speaker 1: I was so cruel to myself. He's fine. You have
- 1:16:46Speaker 1: a great look into both being a boy dad and
- 1:16:51Speaker 1: being a girl dad, which we do not have good
- 1:16:53Speaker 1: representation on the show of boy dads currently.
- 1:16:56Speaker 4: It's... Yeah, I've made a lot of content about it
- 1:16:59Speaker 4: that's resonated because the people have both. It is a
- 1:17:02Speaker 4: shocking difference. In at least the toddler phase. That's all
- 1:17:07Speaker 4: I know. But it's a crazy difference. Boys versus girls.
- 1:17:10Speaker 1: The only image I've really seen of like boy dad
- 1:17:14Speaker 1: type energy is going into our daycare. Scarlett goes to
- 1:17:18Speaker 1: a daycare like five days a week. He's hanging from
- 1:17:20Speaker 1: the ceiling somehow. And Will warned me, of course. I mean,
- 1:17:24Speaker 1: that's what this... podcast is is like will warns me
- 1:17:28Speaker 1: it then comes true nine times out ten all the
- 1:17:31Speaker 1: boys are just like running around her class with like
- 1:17:33Speaker 1: eight dinosaurs in their hand just going and in the
- 1:17:37Speaker 1: corner there's a library and this is not for content
- 1:17:40Speaker 1: this is a true story there is a library in
- 1:17:43Speaker 1: the corner with three fuzzy chairs all three other girls
- 1:17:46Speaker 1: are in the class just sitting in the chairs and
- 1:17:49Speaker 1: scarlet's wanting to walk over to the library to go
- 1:17:51Speaker 1: join the girls over there and it's holding dada's hand
- 1:17:54Speaker 1: as all the boys are running.
- 1:17:55Speaker 4: Around in a circle real real yeah we when my
- 1:18:00Speaker 4: boy we do like uh do a couple day a
- 1:18:03Speaker 4: week day carry mother's day out thing and my my
- 1:18:06Speaker 4: little girl just started going she goes in the morning
- 1:18:08Speaker 4: and my son will go the full day now because
- 1:18:11Speaker 4: he's he's three three and a half she's just turned
- 1:18:13Speaker 4: two That's how we're doing things. So my daughter gets
- 1:18:15Speaker 4: home and when there's like a few hours where it's
- 1:18:17Speaker 4: just her and not my son and you're, I'm like,
- 1:18:21Speaker 4: it feels like I could breathe again. You're just like,
- 1:18:23Speaker 4: I can't, she's in my lap.
- 1:18:24Speaker 1: Daddy read book.
- 1:18:25Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:18:25Speaker 1: It's the whole thing. And then my son gets home.
- 1:18:27Speaker 4: He's like, and then he reps her up and he,
- 1:18:30Speaker 4: the wrestling and it was just so cute and fun.
- 1:18:33Speaker 4: But yeah, it's, but then you hear, well, one day
- 1:18:36Speaker 4: we'll be talking. I hear everyone says it flips, right?
- 1:18:38Speaker 4: Then you got the teen boy hardly speaks to you
- 1:18:40Speaker 4: and the teen girls starts going through it. So, But
- 1:18:43Speaker 4: as far as the little kids stage, they're a lot
- 1:18:45Speaker 4: more energy, a lot more work, but they're both the best.
- 1:18:47Speaker 1: They're fun. Are you so glad that the firstborn was
- 1:18:50Speaker 1: a boy and then you had the girl that she
- 1:18:53Speaker 1: has a big brother? Yes.
- 1:18:55Speaker 4: I hear that a lot. I hear that's like, cause
- 1:18:57Speaker 4: my sister's got girl boy. And at least at this age,
- 1:19:01Speaker 4: I think it's easier. Cause she, my daughter does a
- 1:19:03Speaker 4: pretty good job keeping up with him and they're having
- 1:19:05Speaker 4: fun versus my sister, her daughter, or like her daughter
- 1:19:09Speaker 4: staying away from her little brother. Cause a little brother
- 1:19:11Speaker 4: is kind of, he's like one and a half trying
- 1:19:12Speaker 4: to climb on her and she's just, yeah. And so
- 1:19:15Speaker 4: they're not playing like mind play together. So there's a
- 1:19:17Speaker 4: little bit of that where he, he can coax her
- 1:19:20Speaker 4: and do it more. But, uh, I mean, I'm just,
- 1:19:22Speaker 4: I'm just glad to have, I always say, you know,
- 1:19:24Speaker 4: whatever gender we get, I was glad with, but pretty
- 1:19:27Speaker 4: grateful to have both.
- 1:19:28Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:19:28Speaker 1: And then congratulations. The, uh, your son that was just
- 1:19:32Speaker 1: born in August. Yeah, man. Let's see you guys do
- 1:19:34Speaker 1: your research around here for you. You have wifi in
- 1:19:36Speaker 1: this garage. We do.
- 1:19:36Speaker 5: Sherm was at the hospital booing you there too.
- 1:19:42Speaker 1: Get him out of here. All these Oklahoma state guys.
- 1:19:46Speaker 4: He's a little boy, three months old.
- 1:19:49Speaker 1: That's crazy. So yeah, three under three ish. Is it
- 1:19:54Speaker 1: true that it gets... You're either in or out, sir.
- 1:19:57Speaker 1: I don't know. Oh, I'm not.
- 1:19:58Speaker 4: I'll be honest. I'm not in the three under three club.
- 1:20:01Speaker 4: I'm three under three in three months or something.
- 1:20:04Speaker 3: Okay.
- 1:20:04Speaker 1: Yeah. Okay. So we didn't go that. And before I
- 1:20:07Speaker 1: ask this, don't strangle me because I'm not the one
- 1:20:11Speaker 1: saying it. Okay. But people are saying that it does
- 1:20:16Speaker 1: get easier in the infant stage the more times you
- 1:20:20Speaker 1: go through the infant stage. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Agree? Yes, yes. Agree.
- 1:20:25Speaker 4: But then it's, because I don't know if you've heard
- 1:20:27Speaker 4: this a lot, when you have the baby, people go,
- 1:20:29Speaker 4: they'll throw at you like, oh, the newborn.
- 1:20:32Speaker 1: I'd do anything to do the newborn again. That's nothing.
- 1:20:34Speaker 1: Or they're like, wait till he's three. And you're going,
- 1:20:37Speaker 1: there's no way. There's no way. And then there is
- 1:20:41Speaker 1: a way.
- 1:20:42Speaker 4: We have a newborn now, and you're like, this, we
- 1:20:44Speaker 4: used to have one of these, and we were, of
- 1:20:46Speaker 4: course you are, because it's terrifying. You don't know what
- 1:20:47Speaker 4: you're doing. But no, the third baby, he's the least
- 1:20:50Speaker 4: of my worries. My three-year-old and my two-year-old are like,
- 1:20:52Speaker 4: Way more work and nuts. Last night, all three of
- 1:20:56Speaker 4: my kids woke up twice.
- 1:20:58Speaker 1: Yes. I woke up at 1, 2, 34, 5, 6.
- 1:20:59Speaker 1: That's good. Yeah. And I love my, it's funny. That's
- 1:21:07Speaker 1: one thing you learn about your marriage too.
- 1:21:08Speaker 4: You learn a lot. My spouse, some days I wake up.
- 1:21:10Speaker 4: And I, it's to my surprise, she got up with
- 1:21:12Speaker 4: the kids that I want to let you sleep this morning.
- 1:21:13Speaker 4: That was not, I was up with been up with
- 1:21:16Speaker 4: my son for hours. Of course he's sick. They're sick
- 1:21:18Speaker 4: every day. And then she hands me, she goes, baby miles,
- 1:21:21Speaker 4: baby miles like to be up and she's turns and
- 1:21:23Speaker 4: goes back on the bed. And I go, I guess
- 1:21:24Speaker 4: she's going, okay, good night. And so I just go
- 1:21:29Speaker 4: into war with three kids for breakfast while she slept in,
- 1:21:32Speaker 4: but she deserves it. She knew I was coming to,
- 1:21:34Speaker 4: I was coming to hang on a garage. She was,
- 1:21:36Speaker 4: parenting all day so i'll let her have.
- 1:21:38Speaker 1: It for sure and you love your wife of course
- 1:21:41Speaker 1: of course i really.
- 1:21:43Speaker 4: Do and she yeah you just you there's days she
- 1:21:46Speaker 4: goes he needs some sleep and vice versa it's a
- 1:21:48Speaker 4: team it's a team it's a team thing as.
- 1:21:52Speaker 5: As far as i was gonna say uh we've asked
- 1:21:55Speaker 5: this to most of the guests uh obviously germ one
- 1:21:58Speaker 5: daughter will two daughters you have two sons mm-hmm what
- 1:22:02Speaker 5: did you do differently to acquire the sons?
- 1:22:05Speaker 1: Because Will's not here to ask.
- 1:22:06Speaker 5: And Will wants the Compton storyline to stand for the
- 1:22:09Speaker 5: test of time. So what would you recommend he tries? Um, it's, it's, uh,
- 1:22:13Speaker 5: you know, I don't know what you guys call it
- 1:22:15Speaker 5: on this podcast. I call it a shockwave.
- 1:22:19Speaker 1: Oh, are you serious?
- 1:22:20Speaker 4: You actually call it that? No, my wife calls it that.
- 1:22:25Speaker 4: She's always like shockwave me. I go, why are you
- 1:22:28Speaker 4: saying it like that? She's crazy, but, um, Dude, I don't,
- 1:22:34Speaker 4: I don't, I wish there was an answer to that,
- 1:22:36Speaker 4: but the, I was great. I really wanted both. So
- 1:22:38Speaker 4: I'm grateful to have both. And the third, I don't know,
- 1:22:42Speaker 4: we might not be done fellas.
- 1:22:43Speaker 1: So I don't know.
- 1:22:44Speaker 4: That's really, yeah, that's that kind of, we'll see. That
- 1:22:46Speaker 4: was going to be a question later on. Uh, two,
- 1:22:49Speaker 4: these are two different tips. Just anybody that's a listener
- 1:22:53Speaker 4: of trade. This is your first time on the show.
- 1:22:55Speaker 1: For the dads that we've talked about, a post-shockwave handstand
- 1:23:01Speaker 1: has been just a tip that has been thrown out there.
- 1:23:04Speaker 1: For her, you have to do it together. In solidarity.
- 1:23:07Speaker 1: That was a great question. In solidarity, great answer. And
- 1:23:10Speaker 1: then we have also heard from Golden Tate, I believe.
- 1:23:15Speaker 1: It's two to the left, two to the right. How
- 1:23:18Speaker 1: many boys does he have? He has all boys, I believe.
- 1:23:21Speaker 1: And maintaining eye contact. Oh, okay. That seems like a
- 1:23:26Speaker 1: woman trap, though. We're not sure about that one yet. Interesting. Yes.
- 1:23:30Speaker 1: Further research to be done. Further research to be done. Yeah,
- 1:23:36Speaker 1: let us know. Unfortunately, I don't know what data I have. Yeah,
- 1:23:41Speaker 1: drop your tips in the comments, too, listeners. If you
- 1:23:45Speaker 1: have any tips, please. PT Sickos, we need to know.
- 1:23:48Speaker 1: The curse does need to be broken. That actually does
- 1:23:51Speaker 1: need to be talked about. uh all girls at this
- 1:23:54Speaker 1: office okay okay you have okay these guys.
- 1:24:00Speaker 4: They can't even drive they uber here you have.
- 1:24:03Speaker 5: One girl i know i just got married literally last
- 1:24:06Speaker 5: weekend oh okay so it did this is my first
- 1:24:08Speaker 5: week back in the office.
- 1:24:09Speaker 4: And so we got a wife girl a wife got
- 1:24:11Speaker 4: a wife yes sick taylor when your wives come to
- 1:24:14Speaker 4: this uh studio great question yeah.
- 1:24:18Speaker 1: Yeah i was gonna say well yeah like not really.
- 1:24:24Speaker 4: Let's go visit daddy in the office they're like let's
- 1:24:28Speaker 4: just wait till he's how this smells in here most of.
- 1:24:31Speaker 1: Them see this and get scared just like the general dude.
- 1:24:33Speaker 4: I love it yeah it is very hilarious that yeah
- 1:24:36Speaker 4: you guys you got all girls so far It's crazy.
- 1:24:39Speaker 1: We did hold a seance on the pod a couple
- 1:24:42Speaker 1: months ago to try and ward the spirits. Almost a
- 1:24:46Speaker 1: year ago. Does Will want more? Will wants a boy really,
- 1:24:49Speaker 1: really bad, Trey.
- 1:24:50Speaker 4: Is he the type of guy who goes, listen, I
- 1:24:52Speaker 4: would have had two kids, but I got to keep trying?
- 1:24:54Speaker 4: is he kind of like that.
- 1:24:56Speaker 5: I am i speaking out turn i believe he's been
- 1:24:59Speaker 5: open to the idea of a larger family with the
- 1:25:02Speaker 5: main north star being boy boy boy yeah that's how
- 1:25:04Speaker 5: i'll word it and i and i would say wifey
- 1:25:06Speaker 5: charo also who's listening currently i don't want to put
- 1:25:09Speaker 5: words in her mouth either that yeah that's boy is
- 1:25:13Speaker 5: the goal.
- 1:25:13Speaker 4: Man is there gonna be like a big gender reveal
- 1:25:15Speaker 4: if that time comes it'll be a big live stream
- 1:25:17Speaker 4: event i bet you got to do that.
- 1:25:19Speaker 1: Yes you guys ever seen the gordon hayward video.
- 1:25:22Speaker 6: No.
- 1:25:23Speaker 4: Because he had, I think, two girls, and they're doing
- 1:25:25Speaker 4: gender reel for the third, and they pop it pink,
- 1:25:28Speaker 4: and he kind of sulks over there. It's a hilarious
- 1:25:30Speaker 4: viral video from a couple years ago. And then his
- 1:25:32Speaker 4: wife goes, is daddy happy? And he goes, daddy's always happy.
- 1:25:38Speaker 4: It's an amazing video.
- 1:25:39Speaker 3: Oh, my God.
- 1:25:40Speaker 5: The title of it is Gordon Hayward does not seem
- 1:25:42Speaker 5: happy with their gender reveal.
- 1:25:43Speaker 4: He's like a cartoon character kicking the ground.
- 1:25:46Speaker 1: Daddy's always happy. Oh, no. Dude, not having a boy.
- 1:25:50Speaker 1: Because I.
- 1:25:51Speaker 4: Of course, I want to both, but if you're a
- 1:25:53Speaker 4: professional athlete, you got to have a boy.
- 1:25:56Speaker 1: That's it.
- 1:25:56Speaker 4: That hits different. You know, for me, I'm like, I
- 1:25:58Speaker 4: don't girls is chill. But if I was in the
- 1:26:01Speaker 4: NFL or NBA, you got to that'd be like dream
- 1:26:04Speaker 4: come true. I got to get this. I'm raise my
- 1:26:06Speaker 4: son up.
- 1:26:06Speaker 1: Yeah, it opens up the being just a girl that
- 1:26:10Speaker 1: it has opened my mind up of other sports. I
- 1:26:13Speaker 1: would otherwise never think of. I was not. I played
- 1:26:17Speaker 1: peewee baseball, but I wasn't like. oh man, baseball player.
- 1:26:20Speaker 1: And now Scarlett, her mom was very talented softball player.
- 1:26:26Speaker 1: Got some genes. Got some genes. I'm like, okay, maybe softball,
- 1:26:29Speaker 1: maybe some volleyball, maybe some soccer.
- 1:26:32Speaker 4: I'm rooting for volleyball hard with my daughter. I think
- 1:26:35Speaker 4: it'd be so fun.
- 1:26:36Speaker 1: Volleyball would be fun. Yeah, man. I love playing volleyball.
- 1:26:39Speaker 1: I like it. I could see myself, you know, posting
- 1:26:41Speaker 1: up the volleyball tournaments, but we'll see.
- 1:26:43Speaker 6: I don't know.
- 1:26:44Speaker 4: I don't know if she's showing... I got to be realistic.
- 1:26:47Speaker 4: Maybe we'll do some theater. You got to follow the
- 1:26:51Speaker 4: family tree. I was about to say what's in the genes.
- 1:26:54Speaker 4: The best we got in the genes is more in
- 1:26:56Speaker 4: the arts than the sports, obviously. I was a fine athlete.
- 1:27:00Speaker 4: I think we could have some success up into maybe
- 1:27:03Speaker 4: the high school level, but there's a higher ceiling there.
- 1:27:07Speaker 4: Over there in theater.
- 1:27:08Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, yeah. I think the only selfish one that
- 1:27:10Speaker 1: I would really love is golf. Because you just get
- 1:27:14Speaker 1: so much quiet time out there. You're averaging like four
- 1:27:17Speaker 1: to six hours for a full round. And just being
- 1:27:21Speaker 1: able to... If Scarlett was truly invested in it, getting
- 1:27:26Speaker 1: to pour into her and pour into something that she
- 1:27:29Speaker 1: is super passionate about, that gets me excited. 100%. Yeah,
- 1:27:33Speaker 1: it's like.
- 1:27:34Speaker 4: who knows man I was dreaming up the other day
- 1:27:36Speaker 4: I was shooting hoops I grew up playing basketball that
- 1:27:38Speaker 4: was my sport so I love taking kids outside and
- 1:27:41Speaker 4: shooting on our like driveway and you know my kids
- 1:27:42Speaker 4: like hold them up but my oldest he's not very
- 1:27:46Speaker 4: interested in it my daughter likes it a little more
- 1:27:48Speaker 4: and I dreamed of like man I got two boys
- 1:27:50Speaker 4: I'll be out here like shooting hoops with my boys
- 1:27:52Speaker 4: one day but then it's like you know they'll be
- 1:27:54Speaker 4: like we don't want to father we want to dance
- 1:27:57Speaker 4: and then you're like.
- 1:27:58Speaker 1: Alright hey then dance do some dancing you're better at
- 1:28:02Speaker 1: dancing You are. I'm sure he'll be great. Whatever he
- 1:28:06Speaker 1: wants to do. We have some dad losses. We have
- 1:28:09Speaker 1: some shout outs and we have some dad hacks. Coach
- 1:28:11Speaker 1: me up. What are we doing? I will actually put
- 1:28:14Speaker 1: the ball in your court. No pun intended.
- 1:28:16Speaker 3: Fun.
- 1:28:16Speaker 1: Let's start with what sounds like the worst here. We'll
- 1:28:21Speaker 1: go up from here. Dad loss.
- 1:28:22Speaker 4: Let's start with the bad news. Dad loss. This is
- 1:28:26Speaker 4: a comment from Jeff Antosh. If I'm saying that right.
- 1:28:32Speaker 4: Went to get some yogurt melts for the baby, which
- 1:28:34Speaker 4: was on the top shelf in our pantry. What also
- 1:28:37Speaker 4: was on the top shelf of our pantry is our container.
- 1:28:40Speaker 4: of flour for some reason. Our entire container of flour
- 1:28:43Speaker 4: is on the ground. The baby is crying. All caps.
- 1:28:45Speaker 1: Good. Is that the Jocko? Yeah. Good. You got to
- 1:28:50Speaker 1: have that mindset as a dad. That has been adopted
- 1:28:53Speaker 1: by this podcast in a big way.
- 1:28:55Speaker 3: Good.
- 1:28:56Speaker 1: You'll probably see way more goods in the comments. There's
- 1:28:58Speaker 1: three good emojis on the bottom of that comment from
- 1:29:01Speaker 1: the Discord as well. So everyone just good in it up. Good. Good.
- 1:29:05Speaker 4: That's a big shift. When you have the first kid,
- 1:29:08Speaker 4: that stuff really ruins your morning. And now you shake
- 1:29:11Speaker 4: it off quick once you get in it. They drop
- 1:29:14Speaker 4: some on the ground. Just last night, I go, you
- 1:29:16Speaker 4: can have a few chocolate chips. That's some of the treat.
- 1:29:18Speaker 4: You get this little bag. My daughter spilled it all
- 1:29:20Speaker 4: over the floor. And then we had like a five
- 1:29:22Speaker 4: minute fiasco where we're trying to clean it up as
- 1:29:24Speaker 4: my children are sneaking handfuls and grabbing them.
- 1:29:27Speaker 1: And then we're punishing them. And then help us clean
- 1:29:30Speaker 1: it up. And they're stealing. Yeah. And you just laugh
- 1:29:33Speaker 1: it off. You laugh it off good. Good. And I
- 1:29:36Speaker 1: feel like that's the one thing that I'm learning time
- 1:29:39Speaker 1: management wise of I'm waking up way earlier in the
- 1:29:43Speaker 1: morning to leave room for that exact type of thing.
- 1:29:47Speaker 1: Like hand Scarlett the bottle, go into the kitchen and
- 1:29:52Speaker 1: make sure to pack up the rest of her stuff.
- 1:29:54Speaker 1: I then come back, bottle is upside down the couch
- 1:29:57Speaker 1: and it's spilled everywhere. Okay, now I need to make
- 1:30:00Speaker 1: sure Scarlett gets another bottle. I need to make sure
- 1:30:02Speaker 1: she drinks it. I need to get to work on
- 1:30:05Speaker 1: time as well, though. That's pretty high up on the list.
- 1:30:08Speaker 1: So the earlier that I wake up, the better chance
- 1:30:11Speaker 1: that mistakes will happen. But I have some coverage. Smart, smart.
- 1:30:16Speaker 1: You got to adjust. You got to have a game plan.
- 1:30:18Speaker 1: It's something I've been working on, something that is going
- 1:30:23Speaker 1: pretty good. Yeah. When are you waking up? When's your
- 1:30:25Speaker 1: girl waking up? Oh, she is like five o'clock. She's
- 1:30:30Speaker 1: been doing yoga in the mornings. She's also a registered nurse.
- 1:30:34Speaker 1: So 5 a.m. wake up call. That's pretty regular for her.
- 1:30:37Speaker 1: Good for her. I'm 630 right now. And your daughter's
- 1:30:42Speaker 1: after all that? Yeah, daughter's after all that. She's sleeping super,
- 1:30:46Speaker 1: super well. Shout out 12 hours and 12 weeks. You
- 1:30:51Speaker 1: got knock on wood too. And gong hit just to
- 1:30:53Speaker 1: be safe, if that's okay.
- 1:30:54Speaker 3: Okay.
- 1:30:57Speaker 1: She's waking up around 7.30 on her own. Teething. Yeah,
- 1:31:01Speaker 1: they're always teething. Yeah. Always. They have 40 teeth. They're
- 1:31:06Speaker 1: like a shark. Yeah, yeah. You pick her up from
- 1:31:08Speaker 1: daycare and the teachers are like, yeah, she had a
- 1:31:10Speaker 1: bad day. Well, she's teething. Yeah. So, yeah. Yeah.
- 1:31:14Speaker 4: The teeth, dude. It's, yeah, but that's what, the sleep.
- 1:31:19Speaker 4: That's one of the hardest parts. To me, I know
- 1:31:21Speaker 4: parenting is always going to be hard, but The day
- 1:31:24Speaker 4: when I can just reliably sleep again. That's going to
- 1:31:27Speaker 4: change everything. That's tough, man.
- 1:31:29Speaker 1: Good. Good. Like we're in the Navy SEALs.
- 1:31:31Speaker 3: Good.
- 1:31:31Speaker 1: No sleep. I feel like I'm kind of looking at
- 1:31:34Speaker 1: a time machine right now, just dad-wise of the way
- 1:31:38Speaker 1: that you're talking. And I'm just mentally preparing myself for it. Yeah,
- 1:31:41Speaker 1: you've got me.
- 1:31:42Speaker 4: Like I said, you've got a guy off four hours
- 1:31:44Speaker 4: of sleep with a three-month-old.
- 1:31:46Speaker 1: I'm not in a good place at all. But.
- 1:31:51Speaker 4: That's what we need. Well, Hey, I'm a, I'm open
- 1:31:52Speaker 4: book and it's still a blessing. It's still great, but
- 1:31:55Speaker 4: it's gnarly, man. It's gnarly when, cause my, my oldest
- 1:31:58Speaker 4: is doing a thing where he wakes up every night.
- 1:31:59Speaker 4: Anyone ever heard of the, the, the hatch, the green light,
- 1:32:03Speaker 4: red light.
- 1:32:03Speaker 1: Yes. Okay. You have that?
- 1:32:06Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:32:06Speaker 1: No kids, but I have that. Okay. You like it.
- 1:32:11Speaker 1: It's one of the things that does the light in
- 1:32:14Speaker 1: the room to go to sleep and wake up. A
- 1:32:16Speaker 1: little red light therapy or something. Is that the hatch?
- 1:32:18Speaker 4: It plays a noise. Yeah, the idea with kids is
- 1:32:22Speaker 4: it's kind of their clock. Red light means asleep. Green
- 1:32:25Speaker 4: light means it's time to wake up. But it's funny.
- 1:32:28Speaker 4: These kids, he would wake up before it. He wouldn't
- 1:32:31Speaker 4: respect it. He'd cry. So he'd be like, well, we're
- 1:32:33Speaker 4: trying to teach him. So we turn it green as
- 1:32:35Speaker 4: he was crying. So to kind of just try to
- 1:32:37Speaker 4: instill like, we're not going to get him unless it's green.
- 1:32:40Speaker 4: But then the other day, he broke it to me.
- 1:32:42Speaker 4: He goes, if I cry enough, it turns green. So
- 1:32:46Speaker 4: then I go, dang it, dude. So now I'm like,
- 1:32:48Speaker 4: no wonder he's been waking up every night screaming. He's
- 1:32:49Speaker 4: trying to turn that thing green. He's like, might as
- 1:32:51Speaker 4: well give it a shot. So we're getting rid of that.
- 1:32:55Speaker 4: It's just, you never know. I didn't even know Hatch
- 1:32:57Speaker 4: had that feature.
- 1:32:58Speaker 1: I really didn't. It's a very common thing once you
- 1:33:00Speaker 1: get up to the two, three years old. Oh, really?
- 1:33:04Speaker 4: To try to hopefully teach them like, this is your
- 1:33:07Speaker 4: time on your own to get out of your big
- 1:33:09Speaker 4: boy bed and walk out your room. It's not going
- 1:33:13Speaker 4: according to plan with our oldest.
- 1:33:14Speaker 1: I'm really questioning why I have it. I lived with
- 1:33:17Speaker 1: my girlfriend and she brought it when we moved in.
- 1:33:20Speaker 1: She's like, yeah, honey, I don't know. She's sleep training you. Jerry,
- 1:33:25Speaker 1: time to wake up. Good morning. I'm going to get coffee.
- 1:33:28Speaker 1: It's still red.
- 1:33:29Speaker 3: Weird.
- 1:33:29Speaker 1: I guess you stayed in bed. I do know, to
- 1:33:34Speaker 1: Jared's defense, they do make adult hatches. We must have
- 1:33:37Speaker 1: an adult one. I don't know why we have it.
- 1:33:38Speaker 1: It looks like the sun rising. It's kind of like
- 1:33:42Speaker 1: a sun rise. That's a pleasant way to wake up.
- 1:33:44Speaker 1: And not to throw my wife under the bus, she
- 1:33:46Speaker 1: did buy an infant hatch when we did not have
- 1:33:49Speaker 1: a child because she liked the music of the infant
- 1:33:52Speaker 1: hatch more than the the white noise of the adult.
- 1:33:56Speaker 1: It's probably more relaxing, yeah. Yes, very relaxing. I have
- 1:33:59Speaker 1: another dad loss for us. Yes. This comes from TJ Ustruck.
- 1:34:04Speaker 1: This is an email. How we doing, men? So last night,
- 1:34:08Speaker 1: my six-year-old was helping dad knock out some chores. It
- 1:34:11Speaker 1: had been raining for about seven straight hours, but the
- 1:34:14Speaker 1: chickens don't give a shit about the weather. They still
- 1:34:18Speaker 1: want to eat, and also we just lost our bed.
- 1:34:25Speaker 1: We are also brought to you by the one and
- 1:34:29Speaker 1: only Olipop. We had Trey Kennedy actually taste test this
- 1:34:34Speaker 1: flavor caramel apple. He loved it. We obviously love it.
- 1:34:38Speaker 1: We even put it in a float. This stuff with
- 1:34:41Speaker 1: vanilla ice cream goes crazy. It goes absolutely insane. So
- 1:34:46Speaker 1: if you have yet to even try this flavor, go
- 1:34:48Speaker 1: out and get you a caramel apple, but also try
- 1:34:51Speaker 1: it float style. We think you might like it. Olipop
- 1:34:55Speaker 1: has their new limited edition flavor just in time for fall.
- 1:34:59Speaker 1: We just told you about it. The caramel apple with
- 1:35:01Speaker 1: nine grams of fiber. Olipop is the feel-good soda that
- 1:35:05Speaker 1: combines the classic soda taste with the benefits of high
- 1:35:09Speaker 1: fiber to support digestive health. Get a free can of
- 1:35:13Speaker 1: Olipop when you buy any two cans in store, and
- 1:35:17Speaker 1: that's any flavor, guys. You can mix and match these.
- 1:35:20Speaker 1: We have the caramel apple, obviously. We also have our
- 1:35:24Speaker 1: Raspberry Sherbert that we told you about just recently. Mitchie
- 1:35:27Speaker 1: Boy's got a little crisp apple over there rocking it.
- 1:35:34Speaker 1: Any flavor. You mix the two, they will pay you
- 1:35:36Speaker 1: back for one. All you have to do is go
- 1:35:39Speaker 1: to drinkolipop.com forward slash BWTB. It works on any single
- 1:35:44Speaker 1: can flavor at any retailer. Olipop is available in the
- 1:35:47Speaker 1: soda aisle and with the chilled beverages at thousands of
- 1:35:51Speaker 1: retailers nationwide, including Target and Walmart.
- 1:35:55Speaker 5: We had a guy on X reach out and say
- 1:35:57Speaker 5: that if you swore, he would name his first son Trey.
- 1:36:00Speaker 5: And I said, well, if Sherm doesn't swear, we'll name
- 1:36:03Speaker 5: the gong Max. But now we have to name the
- 1:36:04Speaker 5: gong Trey because he did swear.
- 1:36:06Speaker 1: Well, nice. To apologize for swearing. Yeah, it was the classic. Well,
- 1:36:10Speaker 1: he's just reading a quote. I was reading a quote.
- 1:36:13Speaker 1: I was reading a quote. TJ said it.
- 1:36:14Speaker 4: That's how my shelter self got away with cussing growing up.
- 1:36:17Speaker 4: I was just reading this quote.
- 1:36:19Speaker 1: Singing a song. Who's this guy, Matt? Who's this random
- 1:36:22Speaker 1: fan on X? Or do you know this guy? Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 1:36:25Speaker 3: P.T.
- 1:36:25Speaker 1: Sicko.
- 1:36:26Speaker 5: P.T.
- 1:36:26Speaker 1: Sicko. He commented on.
- 1:36:28Speaker 4: Believe me, flashbacks to middle school. Come on, Trey Cuss.
- 1:36:31Speaker 4: Come on, Trey Cuss.
- 1:36:32Speaker 1: No. No, I don't need to. I don't want to.
- 1:36:35Speaker 1: I can't. I don't want to. It's actually super overrated, dude.
- 1:36:38Speaker 1: You wouldn't get it. TJ continues... So we head out
- 1:36:44Speaker 1: to feed them and collect the eggs. Now, the chicken
- 1:36:47Speaker 1: run is an absolute disaster. Just mud, water, chicken shit.
- 1:36:50Speaker 1: Basically a biohazard with feathers. My big guy decides he
- 1:36:55Speaker 1: wants to be the one to go in and get
- 1:36:57Speaker 1: the feed. I'm thinking, all right, buddy. This is how
- 1:37:00Speaker 1: boys become men. He makes it in, gets the scoop
- 1:37:04Speaker 1: of feed, turns around, starts bringing it back to the feeder.
- 1:37:08Speaker 1: Down he goes, full sin, right into the mud and
- 1:37:11Speaker 1: chicken shit soup. I'm talking hands, clothes, boots, the whole package.
- 1:37:16Speaker 1: He gets up looking absolutely betrayed by agriculture. That's a quote.
- 1:37:21Speaker 1: And I think that that might've been the exact moment
- 1:37:24Speaker 1: I lost my farm hand. We got him inside, gave
- 1:37:27Speaker 1: him a shower, but somehow the smell survived. The kid
- 1:37:30Speaker 1: smelled like wet chicken shit for the rest of the night.
- 1:37:33Speaker 1: So anyway, I'm currently accepting applications for a new helper.
- 1:37:37Speaker 1: Mine has officially retired from farming at six years old.
- 1:37:42Speaker 1: Great story. Oh my gosh. Dude, I can just see
- 1:37:46Speaker 1: that little boy. He's probably just screaming at us. I'm
- 1:37:48Speaker 1: never doing this again.
- 1:37:49Speaker 4: Just covered in poop. That's... Six is an age, dude.
- 1:37:56Speaker 1: I was a camp counselor for a little bit, and
- 1:37:58Speaker 1: the six and seven-year-olds, pardon the meme, awful. Awful. Yeah,
- 1:38:05Speaker 1: they are.
- 1:38:06Speaker 4: I actually did a counselor year once, and I think
- 1:38:09Speaker 4: that was maybe more like seven and eight, but I
- 1:38:13Speaker 4: did it once. I never did it again.
- 1:38:14Speaker 1: Golly. It's a while. And it's such a racket to
- 1:38:17Speaker 1: these parents. I mean, it's the best thing for a
- 1:38:18Speaker 1: parent as far as Oh, honey, you want to go
- 1:38:22Speaker 1: for a month? Are you sure? We're going to miss
- 1:38:24Speaker 1: you a lot. Oh, no. No kidding. It's a game
- 1:38:27Speaker 1: changer for a parent. Yeah. Oh, geez. i guess yeah
- 1:38:31Speaker 1: we'll send you for a month if you really want to.
- 1:38:33Speaker 4: Go camping if that's it'll be good for you that's
- 1:38:36Speaker 4: uh that's so bad yeah that's those big those moments
- 1:38:40Speaker 4: at that age they're pivotal for the future if that
- 1:38:42Speaker 4: kid will ever farm again it might be scarred for
- 1:38:43Speaker 4: life i don't know.
- 1:38:44Speaker 1: Yeah, as far as advice for TJ, I would get
- 1:38:48Speaker 1: some stuff that's obviously not farming. I would get a
- 1:38:51Speaker 1: really cool blow-up obstacle course in the backyard and be like, oh,
- 1:38:56Speaker 1: we got to do this because it's the spring harvest.
- 1:38:59Speaker 1: Kind of like introducing stuff that isn't farming.
- 1:39:03Speaker 4: Or when the time comes, every good chicken, it's time to.
- 1:39:07Speaker 1: Eat the chicken.
- 1:39:11Speaker 4: You let the boy say, all right, you rip You grab,
- 1:39:14Speaker 4: you get the legs and you do it.
- 1:39:16Speaker 1: And it's like, you know, finally. I thought you were
- 1:39:18Speaker 1: going to say cinnamon to do the coop and just
- 1:39:21Speaker 1: start helicoptering.
- 1:39:23Speaker 4: No, my grandma grew up on a farm and she
- 1:39:25Speaker 4: said the way they do it is put a two
- 1:39:27Speaker 4: by four over its head and pull it.
- 1:39:30Speaker 1: By its leg. Oh, so you were saying that? Yeah. Oh, yeah.
- 1:39:33Speaker 4: So that's like, that's really what they did. And then
- 1:39:35Speaker 4: you hear chicken with the heads cut off. It's just
- 1:39:37Speaker 4: a beheaded chicken running around.
- 1:39:39Speaker 1: It's real.
- 1:39:39Speaker 4: It's a real thing. So I'd let him do that
- 1:39:41Speaker 4: as a full circle. Okay, it's time to eat this
- 1:39:44Speaker 4: chicken made for the holidays or something.
- 1:39:46Speaker 1: Yeah, that will intro. I think that's quite nice. A
- 1:39:48Speaker 1: little payback. And a little dad hack, too. Dad hack.
- 1:39:51Speaker 1: There's a bonus dad hack. Dad hack. Like your six-year-old
- 1:39:53Speaker 1: had the chicken. Dad hack. Dad hack. There we go. Yes, sir. Oh, wow.
- 1:39:59Speaker 1: We're getting that into it. Yes, sir.
- 1:40:02Speaker 3: All right.
- 1:40:03Speaker 1: Let's jump into shout outs. We got some shout outs here, Trey. Okay.
- 1:40:06Speaker 1: Me first? You're leading the ship. Do you go first?
- 1:40:10Speaker 1: You know what? You go first. I like that. Okay.
- 1:40:16Speaker 1: And I always say who the Senate, right? No new people.
- 1:40:18Speaker 1: I guess they say. Yeah. Come on. Okay. This is
- 1:40:21Speaker 1: an email. Almost go time, boys. The subject. This is
- 1:40:24Speaker 1: from Raleigh Richardson. What a name. What's up, Raleigh fellas.
- 1:40:28Speaker 4: My wife just got scheduled for her C-section next Thursday,
- 1:40:32Speaker 4: October 15th, 8 a.m. Got a big one on the way.
- 1:40:36Speaker 4: 37 weeks. The baby was weighing just over nine pounds.
- 1:40:39Speaker 1: So any boy. who thinks they want to try anything
- 1:40:41Speaker 1: with my daughter, she'll be ready to meet you in
- 1:40:42Speaker 1: the A-gap. Ooh. Come on. Good size. Good size. Come on. Nice.
- 1:40:48Speaker 4: I just picture his wife ever reading that sentence. He's like,
- 1:40:51Speaker 4: don't worry about it. It's from a podcast, babe. Saying
- 1:40:55Speaker 4: our daughter's going to be humongous.
- 1:40:57Speaker 1: Comedy show. That is great. My daughter's a big girl.
- 1:41:02Speaker 1: It's funny to make those jokes. 99 percentile. Yeah, come on. Eva?
- 1:41:06Speaker 3: Yes.
- 1:41:07Speaker 1: Okay, plug in the A-gap. Yeah, come on, Eva. That's great.
- 1:41:10Speaker 4: In all seriousness, I do want to give a shout
- 1:41:12Speaker 4: out to my amazing wife, Brianna. We got told last
- 1:41:14Speaker 4: December that her chances of a natural pregnancy were slim
- 1:41:17Speaker 4: to none due to my wife's severe endometriosis. She had
- 1:41:21Speaker 4: a surgery to address it, and one of her fallopian
- 1:41:23Speaker 4: tubes was even removed. By the grace of God, just
- 1:41:27Speaker 4: a couple months later, we found out that she is pregnant. Brianna,
- 1:41:30Speaker 4: I truly outkicked my coverage with you. I love you,
- 1:41:32Speaker 4: and I can't wait to take on this next journey
- 1:41:34Speaker 4: with you. Wow, Raleigh, what a guy. I'm also very
- 1:41:37Speaker 4: proud I could That's.
- 1:41:39Speaker 1: The first time ever that that has ever happened. Can
- 1:41:42Speaker 1: we get Andy Gong ready for that? That was crazy.
- 1:41:45Speaker 4: Yeah, I know my stuff. I learned about endometriosis just
- 1:41:49Speaker 4: a few weeks ago, actually. It's coming to Andy.
- 1:41:50Speaker 1: All right. Do you guys know what that is? No.
- 1:41:53Speaker 5: You can lie to us and we'd agree with it,
- 1:41:55Speaker 5: but it's normally that chair is the issue.
- 1:42:00Speaker 1: And make sure at the end of the podcast, just
- 1:42:02Speaker 1: rub a little bit on the chair. Got it. Okay. Yeah. Okay.
- 1:42:07Speaker 1: He goes on.
- 1:42:07Speaker 4: He says, boys, thank you for this podcast. I had
- 1:42:09Speaker 4: no clue what to expect at first when we got
- 1:42:11Speaker 4: the news, but somehow y'all have made it a little
- 1:42:14Speaker 4: bit less intimidating. And each week I get more excited
- 1:42:16Speaker 4: hearing about how much dads love being dads. Also, I
- 1:42:19Speaker 4: got my hospital bag packed with the, for the dad's tea,
- 1:42:23Speaker 4: ready to go for the hospital walk out pick one.
- 1:42:26Speaker 1: From the wife. Thanks fellas. Raleigh Richardson. Wow. What a guy. Congrats, man.
- 1:42:30Speaker 1: That's really, that's really sweet. Shout out and shout out
- 1:42:34Speaker 1: wifey for providing. Did he say wifey provided the shirt
- 1:42:37Speaker 1: or the outfit?
- 1:42:38Speaker 4: It was, I think I was battling through a couple.
- 1:42:39Speaker 4: I feel like typos or something. He said, am I,
- 1:42:41Speaker 4: we got our hospital backpacked with the four that adds
- 1:42:43Speaker 4: tea ready to go for the hospital walkout pick.
- 1:42:47Speaker 1: From the wife. So I guess, I think he's saying
- 1:42:48Speaker 1: she got it from the wife. Okay. I think he's
- 1:42:51Speaker 1: saying he got the t-shirt from the wife. So shout
- 1:42:53Speaker 1: out wife. Wifey understood the assignment. That's a PT Sicko
- 1:42:57Speaker 1: staple is the, uh, the walkout pick. October 15th. Ali.
- 1:43:03Speaker 1: Big time. Ali Common writes in. She says, shout out
- 1:43:07Speaker 1: my husband, Kyle. Hi, PT six. First GBR. Do you
- 1:43:11Speaker 1: know what GBR? I didn't put it on the sheet.
- 1:43:13Speaker 1: I don't have it over there yet. We didn't, but
- 1:43:15Speaker 1: we have some things. Girl... Girl-boy ratio? Because that would
- 1:43:20Speaker 1: have been a great guess. It's Go Big Red for
- 1:43:23Speaker 1: Will Compton. I haven't said that phrase in a long time.
- 1:43:29Speaker 1: What is the GBR? What is the GBR? Terrible GBR
- 1:43:33Speaker 1: in this office. Absolutely. I hope we beat the shit
- 1:43:38Speaker 1: out of Indiana this weekend. This comes out after said weekend, so...
- 1:43:44Speaker 1: Result there. Result, hopefully. Hopefully, hopefully. Result on the screen.
- 1:43:48Speaker 1: We need this. If we do, we are so back, baby. Second,
- 1:43:52Speaker 1: I'm writing to shout out my husband, Kyle. Also, I'm
- 1:43:55Speaker 1: realizing this is wifey. This is GBR wifey. Love that
- 1:43:59Speaker 1: she's a CFP sicko. Shout out my husband, Kyle, is
- 1:44:01Speaker 1: the title of the email. Yeah, yeah. I'm just saying,
- 1:44:05Speaker 1: love the GBR sicko fandom. He is a huge fan
- 1:44:09Speaker 1: of the pod and has turned me into one as well.
- 1:44:12Speaker 1: He recently told me he always waits to hear a
- 1:44:15Speaker 1: shout out for him. So here it is. Kyle, shout
- 1:44:19Speaker 1: out you. Just for time's sake, we'll keep it there.
- 1:44:23Speaker 1: But thank you so much, Ali, for writing in as well.
- 1:44:25Speaker 1: You guys are the best. And thank you for listening
- 1:44:27Speaker 1: to the show. Amazing. Let's go. We got some ladies listening.
- 1:44:31Speaker 1: That's big time. Yeah, dude. But we don't have a Katie.
- 1:44:35Speaker 1: And you'll see in our last episode, the top comment. Deke,
- 1:44:39Speaker 1: do you remember it? Yeah, you ever call the wives
- 1:44:42Speaker 1: or something? You ever call your wife or something? Get
- 1:44:44Speaker 1: a little tidbit in there. Get the wives. They were like,
- 1:44:45Speaker 1: get the wives on.
- 1:44:46Speaker 5: Yeah, we have a lot of get the wives on
- 1:44:48Speaker 5: the pod, which I will say we have a plan.
- 1:44:52Speaker 1: Oh, okay. We do have a plan. We do have
- 1:44:54Speaker 1: a plan. And now we have a third wife. Oh
- 1:44:57Speaker 1: my God. Yeah. Yes, sir. You big dog. We have
- 1:45:01Speaker 1: a third wife. Fun. We'll keep it in mind. We'll
- 1:45:05Speaker 1: keep it in mind. Let's get into Crack a Cold One. Okay.
- 1:45:10Speaker 4: Ooh.
- 1:45:10Speaker 1: Trey, this is a very fun, easy segment. Okay. In
- 1:45:13Speaker 1: front of you is an Olipop. It is caramel apple flavored. Wow. Fun.
- 1:45:18Speaker 1: Very fun. Very fall festive. Fall-a-loo-ya. Fall-a-loo-ya. Boy, oh boy.
- 1:45:25Speaker 1: That's what I do. I did it.
- 1:45:26Speaker 3: Okay.
- 1:45:26Speaker 1: I was supposed to do that. Yeah. And then you
- 1:45:28Speaker 1: don't have to take a little sip. I will. We
- 1:45:32Speaker 1: love Olipop. Crack a Cold One is brought to us
- 1:45:35Speaker 1: by Olipop. Essentially, when we crack a cold one, it's
- 1:45:38Speaker 1: like we're a couple dads in the garage telling war stories.
- 1:45:43Speaker 1: We're cracking some lollipops. And we just say something good
- 1:45:47Speaker 1: that's going on with the kiddos. Something that really kind
- 1:45:49Speaker 1: of made us stop and go, damn, I'm crushing it.
- 1:45:53Speaker 1: That's nice. Everything's right in the world. That's sweet. I
- 1:45:57Speaker 1: can go first, and that might give you a little
- 1:45:59Speaker 1: buffer zone.
- 1:45:59Speaker 3: Sure, sure.
- 1:46:00Speaker 1: Go first. For a crack a cold one. Mine, Scarlett
- 1:46:04Speaker 1: loves Halloween. and it is amazing as a father that
- 1:46:11Speaker 1: i have a daughter that has walked in on a
- 1:46:14Speaker 1: scary there was something scary going on the tv eyes
- 1:46:17Speaker 1: were locked on it she did not show any tears
- 1:46:20Speaker 1: we did get channel change very quickly but i was
- 1:46:23Speaker 1: like that was a good first reaction because that was
- 1:46:25Speaker 1: kind of spooky what was going on on the screen
- 1:46:27Speaker 1: and she didn't you know She didn't flinch. Microdosing horror films.
- 1:46:33Speaker 1: It was on plan. It was on plan. No, we're kidding.
- 1:46:36Speaker 1: It's got a little touch in there. Honey, it was
- 1:46:38Speaker 1: the shining. Get over it. So we have inflatables in
- 1:46:42Speaker 1: the front yard. We have spider webs on the front porch.
- 1:46:46Speaker 1: We have ghosties. um we have pumpkins and she loves
- 1:46:51Speaker 1: the pumpkins she loves the ghosties the only problem is
- 1:46:55Speaker 1: she might love it too much and this might be
- 1:46:57Speaker 1: my dad loss she is going just to our neighbor
- 1:46:59Speaker 1: stores now now that she can walk it's like oh
- 1:47:03Speaker 1: that house looks like my house so i'll just let's
- 1:47:07Speaker 1: just go see what their spideys are doing let's see
- 1:47:09Speaker 1: if they have ghosties if they have inflatables it's game
- 1:47:12Speaker 1: over she has to go walk up and touch them
- 1:47:14Speaker 1: But overall, a crack of cold one. She's loving Halloween.
- 1:47:18Speaker 1: That's great. We got an outfit. Is she doing a costume?
- 1:47:22Speaker 1: That's my dad lost tray. We did touch on it
- 1:47:25Speaker 1: last episode, but here's what's going on. We are going
- 1:47:31Speaker 1: to a wedding in Chicago that is taking place on
- 1:47:33Speaker 1: Halloween day. Halloween wedding? I know. Halloween wedding. I'm trying to...
- 1:47:40Speaker 1: Is that a bad move? Well, let me ask you that.
- 1:47:43Speaker 1: It's one of your... Y'all's friends. It's our age. It's
- 1:47:46Speaker 1: our age. That's kind of crazy. There's probably a lot
- 1:47:48Speaker 1: of parents invited. There are. I will say this about
- 1:47:52Speaker 1: the couple, and they do not listen to this show,
- 1:47:55Speaker 1: I'm guessing, because they're not parents. They're not parents, but
- 1:47:59Speaker 1: I will say this about the couple. They are very fun.
- 1:48:04Speaker 1: So it would not surprise me. It's a fun night
- 1:48:07Speaker 1: if you're not a parent to have a wedding. And
- 1:48:08Speaker 1: it would not surprise me if the reception had a
- 1:48:10Speaker 1: little spookiness going on. It would be fun. It could
- 1:48:13Speaker 1: be fun, but the dad loss, obviously. This is like
- 1:48:17Speaker 1: scarlet's first halloween where she can walk we've got a
- 1:48:20Speaker 1: couple words.
- 1:48:21Speaker 4: Down yeah but yeah i guess you're still it'd be
- 1:48:24Speaker 4: devastating if she was like four you know because you
- 1:48:26Speaker 4: couldn't miss that then it's like i don't know what
- 1:48:29Speaker 4: we're doing that's awesome yeah we're my son's three and
- 1:48:32Speaker 4: a half so we're we did it last year he
- 1:48:34Speaker 4: was two and a half so he could he could
- 1:48:35Speaker 4: do it we're having fun yeah But this year's going
- 1:48:37Speaker 4: to be, I cannot wait, man. And all my friends,
- 1:48:42Speaker 4: we all, my boy's the oldest out of all our friends,
- 1:48:44Speaker 4: but they're all like by a few months. So I
- 1:48:47Speaker 4: feel like this is our first trick or treat. We're
- 1:48:48Speaker 4: all going to get together, boys, wives, and the kids.
- 1:48:51Speaker 4: It's going to be so fun. It's one of my
- 1:48:52Speaker 4: proudest moments. Last Halloween, I had a gig offer on
- 1:48:55Speaker 4: Halloween night. I go, no, I turned it down. I go, no,
- 1:48:58Speaker 4: I got it. You start to get to that as
- 1:49:00Speaker 4: a dad. I said yes to everything before I was
- 1:49:02Speaker 4: a dad. You got to start picking and choosing. You go, no,
- 1:49:05Speaker 4: not going to do it. One of the best I've
- 1:49:06Speaker 4: ever made. It was such a fun night. So it
- 1:49:08Speaker 4: was a little bonus, me being awesome, but crack a
- 1:49:11Speaker 4: cold one. I'm wrestling with my kids. Like the real
- 1:49:16Speaker 4: deal dad wrestling y'all see in Dreamo.
- 1:49:19Speaker 1: Throwing them into the sofa cushion a little bit.
- 1:49:22Speaker 4: You know, did it over the years, but now my
- 1:49:24Speaker 4: boy is like, we have a game where I'm full blown,
- 1:49:29Speaker 4: just like socking them to the ground and throwing them
- 1:49:31Speaker 4: and hitting them with bows.
- 1:49:32Speaker 1: And he's loving it.
- 1:49:33Speaker 4: And it's now a thing when, whenever I leave town,
- 1:49:36Speaker 4: like I'm here, I got, I got a gig. So
- 1:49:38Speaker 4: I'm in town. I'll be home first thing tomorrow. And
- 1:49:40Speaker 4: it's always just like the second I step in the door,
- 1:49:43Speaker 4: he's like, let's go, you know, it's like time to wrestle.
- 1:49:45Speaker 4: And it's kind of, you know, what dreams are made
- 1:49:47Speaker 4: of you.
- 1:49:48Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:49:48Speaker 4: He's at that age where we're just, and it's really sweet.
- 1:49:50Speaker 4: Then my daughter kind of gets in cause she doesn't
- 1:49:52Speaker 4: wanna be left out. And Um, you know, we got to,
- 1:49:55Speaker 4: of course I'm gentler with her. And then he all
- 1:49:57Speaker 4: of a sudden just clotheslines her and you're like, okay, don't,
- 1:49:59Speaker 4: you know, you gotta.
- 1:50:00Speaker 1: He's doing good.
- 1:50:01Speaker 4: But sometimes he just kind of suplexes his little sister,
- 1:50:04Speaker 4: but we're wrestling, man.
- 1:50:05Speaker 1: It's the best. It's, it's the real, it's like, yeah,
- 1:50:08Speaker 1: it's like a dream. Something just connected in my mind too.
- 1:50:10Speaker 1: Cause he's from Oklahoma. Do you know who Dan Gable is?
- 1:50:17Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:50:17Speaker 1: Not like personally, but yeah. Familiar wrestling, legendary wrestling coach.
- 1:50:21Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:50:22Speaker 1: We have a Dan Gable bobblehead right there. That's Will's
- 1:50:25Speaker 1: childhood hero.
- 1:50:26Speaker 4: Really?
- 1:50:27Speaker 1: Childhood hero.
- 1:50:29Speaker 3: Wow.
- 1:50:29Speaker 1: And as I'm listening to you tell this story, I
- 1:50:33Speaker 1: truly am like, that has Will Compton written all over.
- 1:50:37Speaker 1: Like him sitting here listening to that story. He's probably dumb.
- 1:50:40Speaker 1: He's like, man, I want to wrestle some boy, dude.
- 1:50:42Speaker 1: He would have the happiest tears in his eyes. You
- 1:50:45Speaker 1: can borrow my son whenever you want, man. Just get
- 1:50:47Speaker 1: after it. Man, that sounds like a lot of testosterone
- 1:50:50Speaker 1: going on. Yeah, it's the best. One, I love that. Two,
- 1:50:54Speaker 1: I just didn't want to skip over this group trick
- 1:50:57Speaker 1: or treat that you're doing. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Can you
- 1:50:59Speaker 1: break that down? Because I don't have a whole lot
- 1:51:02Speaker 1: of dad friends like outside of this office.
- 1:51:06Speaker 4: What does that look like? How are y'all going to
- 1:51:08Speaker 4: attack the knife? Well, we, like I said, last year
- 1:51:12Speaker 4: went way better than I thought. I know because you're like,
- 1:51:14Speaker 4: everyone's The oldest was my two and a half year old.
- 1:51:18Speaker 4: We had some people like under two. So we're kind
- 1:51:19Speaker 4: of waddling around. But it lasted longer than I thought.
- 1:51:22Speaker 4: And the kids were getting the candy. But this year
- 1:51:23Speaker 4: should be unmatched. Like we host. We're in a great
- 1:51:26Speaker 4: neighborhood for it.
- 1:51:27Speaker 2: Good, good.
- 1:51:27Speaker 4: It's like tons of families walking around.
- 1:51:30Speaker 1: Are we doing wagons? No, probably not wagons. Okay, no wagons.
- 1:51:35Speaker 1: My kids will be... We tried last year. They were
- 1:51:37Speaker 1: too fired up. They couldn't sit in the wagon. They
- 1:51:39Speaker 1: wanted to walk. So we.
- 1:51:42Speaker 4: you know, we'll have everyone over probably, you know, Hey,
- 1:51:44Speaker 4: after nap time, come on over. Hopefully it's nice weather.
- 1:51:47Speaker 4: It's on a Saturday, which is clutch. And we, uh,
- 1:51:50Speaker 4: like any good group of friends, of course, we have
- 1:51:52Speaker 4: a few adult drinks in the thermos. You hit the road.
- 1:51:55Speaker 1: Yes, sir. Kids. I was, I was just, I was
- 1:51:58Speaker 1: like in a flow state. I was meeting Nate. We
- 1:52:00Speaker 1: had just moved to this neighborhood too.
- 1:52:01Speaker 4: So I'm meeting neighbors. My cute kids are trick or
- 1:52:03Speaker 4: treating all of us. Parents are having a great time. It's,
- 1:52:06Speaker 4: it's one of the, as a parent, I think it's
- 1:52:08Speaker 4: hard to beat, uh, Halloween.
- 1:52:10Speaker 1: It's like a really fun night. One of my favorite,
- 1:52:13Speaker 1: I just unlocked a memory as you're telling that story.
- 1:52:15Speaker 1: One of my favorite Vine characters of yours was your
- 1:52:19Speaker 1: dad character. Does it scare you waking up and being like,
- 1:52:24Speaker 1: oh my God, I might be that guy. Yeah, he's referencing,
- 1:52:28Speaker 1: I had this, when the whip and nae nae, all
- 1:52:31Speaker 1: that was huge. I was just doing a corny like,
- 1:52:33Speaker 1: I'm going to whip you into shape. And, you know,
- 1:52:35Speaker 1: of course, reflecting back on it. Do you remember this?
- 1:52:37Speaker 1: I didn't know that was you. Yeah. Uh, first we're
- 1:52:40Speaker 1: hooked you back. You're like, wow, good joke. But it
- 1:52:42Speaker 1: was groundbreaking at the time. It was big. That was
- 1:52:45Speaker 1: 50 million views.
- 1:52:46Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 1:52:46Speaker 4: It was a whole thing. And you know, I, I've
- 1:52:49Speaker 4: said this a lot. I feel, I feel like our millennials,
- 1:52:52Speaker 4: we have hope.
- 1:52:53Speaker 1: Oh baby. That's in that college house. I, one of
- 1:52:55Speaker 1: my boys, I go, Hey, record this right quick. Yeah. Yeah.
- 1:53:00Speaker 1: Don't let me cook. So I don't have saying something
- 1:53:02Speaker 1: like that. But I did so many of those.
- 1:53:04Speaker 4: And I think we have hope with the phones and
- 1:53:08Speaker 4: social media, maybe we can kind of be a little
- 1:53:10Speaker 4: less corny. We can keep up a little bit. We're
- 1:53:12Speaker 4: still more plugged in. State Farm is just raking it
- 1:53:15Speaker 4: in with those commercials, dude. Becoming your parent or whatever.
- 1:53:19Speaker 1: Oh, I think that's Progressive. Oh, Progressive. And shout out,
- 1:53:22Speaker 1: no free shout out to both of those companies. I'm
- 1:53:24Speaker 1: currently with State Farm, so shout out State Farm. Hey,
- 1:53:27Speaker 1: there we go. We'll cut that. Leave that out. Northwestern Mutual.
- 1:53:33Speaker 1: So does our insurance.
- 1:53:36Speaker 4: Yeah, I think I'd be able to hold off, but
- 1:53:39Speaker 4: I can't believe you remember all those vines, man.
- 1:53:41Speaker 1: That's funny. Oh, dude, they were hilarious. And I feel
- 1:53:44Speaker 1: like I'm turning into that as well. Matt calls a
- 1:53:48Speaker 1: lot of our older guys in the office unk, which
- 1:53:52Speaker 1: I love that. And we actually have some uncle hats
- 1:53:56Speaker 1: and some unk hats that we've been sporting. It's kind
- 1:53:58Speaker 1: of like why, you know, black folks always have OG.
- 1:54:00Speaker 1: It's like we kind of finally got a little version.
- 1:54:03Speaker 1: What's up, unk? That's me. They're making fun of us. But,
- 1:54:07Speaker 1: you know, baby steps. Yeah, baby steps. We took a
- 1:54:10Speaker 1: scoop of the ice cream and they said, That's fine.
- 1:54:13Speaker 1: You can have Unk. That's great. Yeah. I like it.
- 1:54:16Speaker 1: Come on, Unk. Give us a little Unk in there.
- 1:54:19Speaker 1: As I am an Unk explaining Unk. Dad hacks? Dad hacks.
- 1:54:24Speaker 1: You want to jump into it? I think that's our
- 1:54:26Speaker 1: last one, and I can go first for you. Okay, go.
- 1:54:31Speaker 1: Dad hack from Corey Williams on Spotify. Corey writes in,
- 1:54:34Speaker 1: Dad hack, grab a pack of those puppy pee pads
- 1:54:37Speaker 1: from the store and use them as a changing pad.
- 1:54:40Speaker 1: They soak up all the accidental discharges during a diaper change.
- 1:54:45Speaker 1: Solid dad hack. That is a pretty good dad hack.
- 1:54:47Speaker 1: That's a solid one. That really is. That's way better
- 1:54:51Speaker 1: than those rewashable things. Yes. And my dad hack, which
- 1:54:54Speaker 1: I kind of got, Will was like, are we sure
- 1:54:58Speaker 1: that's a dad hack? My dad hack last week was, hey,
- 1:55:00Speaker 1: my kid hates the changing table. I just change her
- 1:55:02Speaker 1: on the ground now. His dad egg was put the
- 1:55:05Speaker 1: kid on the ground. Just wait till I go to
- 1:55:10Speaker 1: my wife. I go, honey, and I got these B
- 1:55:11Speaker 1: pads from Walmart. We're just going to throw them on
- 1:55:13Speaker 1: the ground. It'd be perfect. Yes. Legendary dad status here.
- 1:55:20Speaker 1: Let's go. Okay.
- 1:55:21Speaker 4: Duncan, Duncan Robertson writes in dad hack. My daughter's daycare
- 1:55:25Speaker 4: provides breakfast, lunch, and afternoon snack, which is a huge
- 1:55:28Speaker 4: win in and of itself. Oh, last week they had
- 1:55:32Speaker 4: Bald chicken nuggets, which were actually just small pieces of
- 1:55:35Speaker 4: grilled chicken. Picky toddlers won't eat. Just tell them it's
- 1:55:38Speaker 4: bald chicken nuggets to get that protein in them.
- 1:55:40Speaker 1: There we go, baby. You got to read that.
- 1:55:42Speaker 4: Oh, every parent knows rebranding is big.
- 1:55:45Speaker 1: Oh, yeah. Big one that's going on right now with
- 1:55:48Speaker 1: the pod. They don't make that anymore. They asked for something.
- 1:55:52Speaker 1: That's crazy. They actually don't make that anymore.
- 1:55:55Speaker 4: I saw this hack. This is a viral hack. Someone,
- 1:55:57Speaker 4: they were eating like chocolate cake. Then go, Ooh, this
- 1:55:59Speaker 4: cake is spicy. You wouldn't like smart dude.
- 1:56:03Speaker 1: You haven't seen this. Yeah. You gotta get that cookie. Oh,
- 1:56:07Speaker 1: spicy cookie. Yeah. Oh, that's with that. Oh my God. Oh,
- 1:56:12Speaker 1: I don't want any part of that. I don't want
- 1:56:13Speaker 1: any part of that. Oh yeah.
- 1:56:15Speaker 4: Famous one in our house that actually was a bit,
- 1:56:18Speaker 4: I've told on the road where we, my son was
- 1:56:20Speaker 4: obsessed with pancakes, but we, so we gave him a waffle.
- 1:56:24Speaker 4: So you can assume how that went. And then my
- 1:56:26Speaker 4: wife said they're, they're silly pancakes and he ate them.
- 1:56:29Speaker 4: So to this day we call waffles silly pancakes.
- 1:56:31Speaker 1: Oh my God. Silly pancake.
- 1:56:33Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 1:56:33Speaker 1: Then he ate it up. That's all it took. It's amazing.
- 1:56:36Speaker 1: You guys got to brand it, man. Yeah. All chicken nuggets.
- 1:56:38Speaker 1: That's pretty good. We sit here and we break it
- 1:56:40Speaker 1: down parenting as like this hard rocket science thing, which
- 1:56:44Speaker 1: haters love to put in the comments. They're really just
- 1:56:48Speaker 1: making a podcast about this. I mean, come on. Yeah.
- 1:56:52Speaker 1: But it is moments like that where you can just
- 1:56:55Speaker 1: rebrand something and the mind quickly changes.
- 1:56:58Speaker 4: Dude, the picky eat. This is something that just happened
- 1:57:00Speaker 4: as of this week. My son loves, you know, of course,
- 1:57:02Speaker 4: like any other child, peanut butter, sandwich peanut butter on
- 1:57:05Speaker 4: bread yeah yeah he rejects the jelly we said dude
- 1:57:07Speaker 4: peeping jelly so good no i don't like jelly and
- 1:57:09Speaker 4: then we went uncrustable a kid at his little school
- 1:57:12Speaker 4: was had he's like this this calvin always has these
- 1:57:15Speaker 4: so he got him he was excited and he took
- 1:57:17Speaker 4: a bite and he liked the jelly coming out of
- 1:57:19Speaker 4: that but so much so that when he has one
- 1:57:22Speaker 4: of those he says i only like the jelly so
- 1:57:24Speaker 4: he rips a hole in it and oozes out the
- 1:57:27Speaker 4: jelly and sucks it out of the uncrustable and won't
- 1:57:30Speaker 4: eat the peanut butter but if i made him a
- 1:57:32Speaker 4: peanut butter jelly he'd be like i don't like jelly
- 1:57:33Speaker 4: and i mean you can't even make this stuff up
- 1:57:35Speaker 4: i go are you rage baiting me dude he came
- 1:57:38Speaker 4: home from school and it had been like dissected like
- 1:57:40Speaker 4: what'd you do to this thing he goes i just
- 1:57:42Speaker 4: sucked out the jelly man i go that's crazy.
- 1:57:44Speaker 1: That also looks like such an a science.
- 1:57:46Speaker 4: Experiment bizarre just you think of your kid at school
- 1:57:50Speaker 4: he's over there just somebody's doing an autopsy on a
- 1:57:54Speaker 4: on a crustable Oh my God.
- 1:57:59Speaker 1: Last dad hack here. We got Carlin Petrin. Dash Q40
- 1:58:04Speaker 1: on YouTube. Carlin says, Willie C, quick dad hack to
- 1:58:09Speaker 1: get the girls to eat. eat their dinner. See, here
- 1:58:11Speaker 1: we go. All right, let's go. Pick up a special
- 1:58:14Speaker 1: dessert that you know they absolutely love and don't have
- 1:58:18Speaker 1: every day. I know the cookie can be a motivator,
- 1:58:21Speaker 1: but something she has every day might not be enticing enough.
- 1:58:25Speaker 1: Be sure to show her what her reward will be
- 1:58:28Speaker 1: for eating her dinner ahead of time before you actually
- 1:58:32Speaker 1: sit down for dinner to create some anticipation. Start with
- 1:58:36Speaker 1: three quarters of the plate and gradually increase it until
- 1:58:39Speaker 1: she's a consistent member of the Clean Plate Club as
- 1:58:43Speaker 1: a CPC. Okay, wow. He's running out finding fancy desserts,
- 1:58:49Speaker 1: keeping them guessing. Yeah, and Will wouldn't know what to
- 1:58:52Speaker 1: think about that dad hack because he is very much
- 1:58:54Speaker 1: on your brand of, hey, if you're not going to eat,
- 1:58:58Speaker 1: you ain't eating. Yeah, it's tough. Because now my boy.
- 1:59:02Speaker 4: Then you get so far, especially with a boy where
- 1:59:05Speaker 4: I'm like, sometimes I just give him the cookie. And
- 1:59:07Speaker 4: my wife's like, why? I'm like, well, this guy needs
- 1:59:09Speaker 4: some calories in him. I need this guy to put
- 1:59:11Speaker 4: some meat on his bone. You know, you don't want
- 1:59:12Speaker 4: a tiny little. So then you're battling that a little bit.
- 1:59:15Speaker 4: We're like, you're getting them ready for the egg.
- 1:59:16Speaker 1: Yeah, exactly. Come on. I mean, Will was literally just
- 1:59:21Speaker 1: sitting right there going, you know, we used to do
- 1:59:23Speaker 1: PB & J sandwiches right before bed to bulk up. Yeah,
- 1:59:29Speaker 1: we do that. Perfect bars. You guys know about those? Oh,
- 1:59:32Speaker 1: perfect bars are good. Game changers for the kids. They're good.
- 1:59:34Speaker 4: And they're very big calories. Most kids I've ever known
- 1:59:38Speaker 4: like them and they're, they're healthy. They're so, man, we
- 1:59:41Speaker 4: go through those. Dude, I got to find the brand too.
- 1:59:43Speaker 4: I think Target sells them the little Fig Newton things.
- 1:59:46Speaker 4: I was not a Fig Newton guy when I was younger,
- 1:59:49Speaker 4: but I find myself, it's the perfect amount of Scarlett
- 1:59:53Speaker 4: will like get it down to a little nub. So
- 1:59:54Speaker 4: I have a one biter like when she doesn't finish
- 1:59:57Speaker 4: it big on the Fig Newtons now. You know, I
- 2:00:00Speaker 4: had to cut, I was, I gained a few pounds
- 2:00:03Speaker 4: definitely from the mac and cheese. Dad, dad dip it
- 2:00:05Speaker 4: in the mac and cheese. You go, dude, these, they
- 2:00:06Speaker 4: come a long way with this mac and cheese. It's delicious.
- 2:00:09Speaker 1: You were just talking about on y'all's last episode, y'all
- 2:00:12Speaker 1: went to like a petting zoo or something and they were,
- 2:00:14Speaker 1: you were like, they had mac and cheese. I couldn't
- 2:00:17Speaker 1: believe it. I couldn't believe it. Day was saved. Kids
- 2:00:19Speaker 1: had the mac. It was delicious. Guys, it's like a drug.
- 2:00:23Speaker 1: Mac and cheese is like a drug for my daughter, Scarlett.
- 2:00:27Speaker 1: Every child. It's kind of, ugh. They love it. We
- 2:00:31Speaker 1: have some dad call-ins. Let's go. Fun. In dad call-in straight,
- 2:00:35Speaker 1: of course, they're presented by Gravely. Our first dad call-in,
- 2:00:40Speaker 1: what do you think, Deke? We've been signed up? Yeah,
- 2:00:42Speaker 1: start with we've been signed up. This is an interesting one. Okay.
- 2:00:45Speaker 1: So start with this, and then I can explain what
- 2:00:47Speaker 1: it's from, or you can take a guess. Okay, perfect.
- 2:00:50Speaker 1: I like that.
- 2:00:55Speaker 3: The varsity football game against B.B. Kummer has moved to
- 2:00:58Speaker 3: 6 o'clock tomorrow night. Senior parents that are a part
- 2:01:02Speaker 3: of senior night festivities should be at the field by 4.45.
- 2:01:04Speaker 3: To opt out of future messages, call 855-502-7867. Goodbye.
- 2:01:15Speaker 5: We've been receiving texts on the For the Dads phone.
- 2:01:17Speaker 5: Someone signed us up for their kids' alert system at
- 2:01:20Speaker 5: the high school.
- 2:01:21Speaker 1: Come on, guys. We're trying to run a company over here.
- 2:01:25Speaker 5: We've been getting updates about drop-offs and pickups. So that's
- 2:01:28Speaker 5: more an alert to someone out there that they're not
- 2:01:30Speaker 5: getting the updates we are. And so we've received our
- 2:01:32Speaker 5: first voicemail from that school.
- 2:01:34Speaker 1: Why do people do this?
- 2:01:35Speaker 4: We had like emails here, and then you start getting
- 2:01:38Speaker 4: this BS. Like, why are you pranking us? Stop signing
- 2:01:41Speaker 4: us up for stuff. Here's what I will say, though.
- 2:01:43Speaker 4: Ultimate dad hack. You like this dad podcast that you
- 2:01:46Speaker 4: listen to that has a voicemail. You never check your
- 2:01:49Speaker 4: voicemails that the school leaves. you listen to said show,
- 2:01:53Speaker 4: he's sitting there going, oh, okay, great. Festivities got moved
- 2:01:56Speaker 4: to 6 p.m.
- 2:01:57Speaker 1: A week later. There we go. Yeah, a week later. Exactly, yeah. Oh,
- 2:02:04Speaker 1: my God. Honey, I didn't know that they played a
- 2:02:06Speaker 1: week later. These guys suck, dude. That's great. Next one,
- 2:02:11Speaker 1: a memory for you. What's up, boys? It's Dylan from Jersey. Sherm,
- 2:02:20Speaker 1: feel free to do the accent. I'm in the belly
- 2:02:22Speaker 1: of the beast right now.
- 2:02:23Speaker 5: Disney World.
- 2:02:25Speaker 1: Magic Kingdom.
- 2:02:26Speaker 5: I got the six-month-old strapped to my chest.
- 2:02:29Speaker 1: My daughter's about to ride Aladdin. Boys, let me tell
- 2:02:32Speaker 1: you this. The meltdowns. The screaming. The overpriced snacks. It's
- 2:02:37Speaker 1: all worth it. Take the trip. Take the kids to
- 2:02:41Speaker 1: go see the mouse. They'll love it. It's really a
- 2:02:43Speaker 1: memory for you.
- 2:02:44Speaker 5: E.T.
- 2:02:44Speaker 1: Sicko. Out. A little bonus there at the end.
- 2:02:52Speaker 4: Yeah, wow. Is that a hired actor? Who is that guy?
- 2:02:56Speaker 4: I'm a Disney ward. My daughter's about to ride a land.
- 2:03:04Speaker 1: That was great. Six-month-old in a Disney World. No props. Yeah,
- 2:03:08Speaker 1: good on them. Good on them. Any rollercoaster riding for
- 2:03:12Speaker 1: you guys? Any theme park ride? We have it. No, man.
- 2:03:15Speaker 1: I was not a rollercoaster kid. Okay.
- 2:03:18Speaker 4: I was kind of a weenie with that, and my
- 2:03:20Speaker 4: son's got that gene. There's no world where he was
- 2:03:22Speaker 4: going to get on a coaster anytime soon. Kind of
- 2:03:24Speaker 4: a shy boy.
- 2:03:25Speaker 1: I don't know.
- 2:03:27Speaker 4: We'll see. I don't foresee us being a Disney family.
- 2:03:29Speaker 4: My wife's really kind of anti....
- 2:03:32Speaker 1: She is. She's kind of a hater. She really is.
- 2:03:34Speaker 1: Big thank you from Matt. Hey, real quick. Need her
- 2:03:40Speaker 1: info to be passed to my wife. Yeah, my wife.
- 2:03:44Speaker 1: She'll talk her down. I need Katie to talk to Jill.
- 2:03:46Speaker 1: You got a Disney adult over there? Well, Jill's not.
- 2:03:51Speaker 1: Some of her family have some real estate in Orlando, Florida.
- 2:03:54Speaker 1: You may have heard of it. They're all in. Um,
- 2:03:57Speaker 1: they have flash passes, uh, due to some of the
- 2:04:00Speaker 1: relatives having diabetes. No lines, no lines, no feet. And
- 2:04:08Speaker 1: she cannot truly, truly. And, um, it is, uh, it
- 2:04:17Speaker 1: is already written in the stars that we will be
- 2:04:19Speaker 1: going to Disney world once Scarlet's over to like annually. Uh,
- 2:04:24Speaker 1: maybe not that aggressive. Cut that from the episode. Make
- 2:04:28Speaker 1: sure that gets cut from the episode.
- 2:04:30Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 2:04:30Speaker 1: It was like, uh, I don't think you can do that, Trey.
- 2:04:34Speaker 1: I think it's just like a once every like 10 years.
- 2:04:36Speaker 4: That's right.
- 2:04:36Speaker 1: They won't let you in more than once. Yeah. I
- 2:04:38Speaker 1: forgot about that. Yeah, yeah, yeah. That's not bad.
- 2:04:41Speaker 3: Damn.
- 2:04:41Speaker 4: Yeah, because they want to make sure everyone can experience
- 2:04:43Speaker 4: the magic so you can't go too much.
- 2:04:45Speaker 1: Okay, I'll tell Jill that. And she listens, so that's
- 2:04:48Speaker 1: good for her to know. But please, we'll like Katie.
- 2:04:51Speaker 1: Does your wife listen? She does.
- 2:04:53Speaker 3: Nice.
- 2:04:53Speaker 1: Yeah, she does. That'll change. Charo is maybe our number
- 2:04:57Speaker 1: one listener, Will's wife.
- 2:04:58Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 2:04:58Speaker 5: Wow she's a she's a heavy episode she very much
- 2:05:01Speaker 5: the APR was founded because Will I believe messed up
- 2:05:04Speaker 5: birthdays and messed up the age the daughters were during
- 2:05:07Speaker 5: things and stuff like little instances like that that's.
- 2:05:09Speaker 4: So cute wow what's my Katie you suck Katie and
- 2:05:13Speaker 4: I can say that because there's no world she's listening
- 2:05:15Speaker 4: to this we'll lay in bed and this is a
- 2:05:18Speaker 4: funny bit I do every couple months let's just review
- 2:05:20Speaker 4: this and like my last 12 Instagram reels she hasn't
- 2:05:23Speaker 4: liked them you've been watching these she's like I'm busy
- 2:05:26Speaker 4: dude yeah come on.
- 2:05:28Speaker 1: Katie Your husband's out here working. No, I love to
- 2:05:32Speaker 1: give her a hard time. She's like, I'm trying. She's not,
- 2:05:35Speaker 1: she's not keeping up my content. No, that's, that's really sweet. They,
- 2:05:38Speaker 1: they're devout. Yeah, they are. They are. They're, they're excited
- 2:05:41Speaker 1: for us. I know that Jill, she's probably, I would
- 2:05:45Speaker 1: say like two out of three episodes would be like her. Yeah.
- 2:05:50Speaker 4: No, my wife, my wife, she's got it. I talked
- 2:05:53Speaker 4: to her enough in real life. She's, I don't blame her.
- 2:05:56Speaker 4: She's the best.
- 2:05:57Speaker 1: Oh, Shout out our wives. We love our wives. We
- 2:05:59Speaker 1: love our... Yeah. Gong rip for the wives. Hit the...
- 2:06:03Speaker 1: We love... Oh, no, I missed. I missed. Oh, no, dude.
- 2:06:07Speaker 1: I thought it was a pantomime at first, but that
- 2:06:09Speaker 1: was a miss.
- 2:06:09Speaker 4: My wife wouldn't let me do it. It was like
- 2:06:11Speaker 4: a force field. The spirit of Katie choking me. I
- 2:06:16Speaker 4: really do love my wife a lot.
- 2:06:18Speaker 1: It's true. We have one last voicemail. It is titled,
- 2:06:21Speaker 1: Two-Year-Old Sailor. Loading... Two-year-old sailor. Boys, this is Jacob from
- 2:06:29Speaker 1: southeast Kansas, a little town called Cheneau. A little oh
- 2:06:33Speaker 1: shit moment. As you can tell, I cuss like a sailor.
- 2:06:37Speaker 1: That's on me. Me and the wife here are trying
- 2:06:39Speaker 1: to get better. We're headed to leave the house. The
- 2:06:42Speaker 1: other day, go to my mom's, call her Mimi. She
- 2:06:45Speaker 1: says grandma makes her feel old. Whatever. And like I said,
- 2:06:50Speaker 1: I cuss like a sailor. But headed out the door,
- 2:06:53Speaker 1: kid turns around and just hits me with a good
- 2:06:54Speaker 1: old-fashioned F-U. I'm not even talking to the kid. I'm
- 2:06:58Speaker 1: just walking. The kid's just walking. And I said, what'd
- 2:07:00Speaker 1: you say? And she doubled down on it. And mom's
- 2:07:04Speaker 1: in the other room losing it. I'm trying to keep
- 2:07:06Speaker 1: my composure, but just after last week's episode, I just
- 2:07:11Speaker 1: thought you boys get a crack out of it. My
- 2:07:12Speaker 1: little two-year-old sailor over here, Braylee. She's two. My little princess.
- 2:07:17Speaker 4: Oh, girl.
- 2:07:18Speaker 3: Sorry, boys.
- 2:07:19Speaker 1: Get a chuckle out of that. That's great. I, uh,
- 2:07:24Speaker 1: I'd Doubly apologize. Last week, I said some stuff on
- 2:07:31Speaker 1: the pod. This podcast is titled For the Dads, Not
- 2:07:35Speaker 1: for the Kids.
- 2:07:37Speaker 4: Right.
- 2:07:37Speaker 1: Dad had it playing in the car. Yeah, well. Great
- 2:07:43Speaker 1: dad hack, though. Grabbed the teacher at drop-off and said, hey,
- 2:07:47Speaker 1: just want to let you know, was listening to a
- 2:07:49Speaker 1: podcast that dropped a couple F-bombs this morning, and kiddo
- 2:07:53Speaker 1: might drop some F-bombs.
- 2:07:55Speaker 4: So good luck with that. Yeah, just so you know,
- 2:07:57Speaker 4: this podcast, that is a new... Me and my friends,
- 2:08:01Speaker 4: we've adjusted quite well. All of a sudden, you're like, wow,
- 2:08:04Speaker 4: you got to watch what you're saying around these things.
- 2:08:06Speaker 1: Oh, dude. They really do. My boldest.
- 2:08:09Speaker 4: I remember one day he caught me, you know, whoever
- 2:08:12Speaker 4: was bullying me on X, I do swear from time
- 2:08:15Speaker 4: to time outside of my professional life. I stubbed my
- 2:08:18Speaker 4: toe or something and let something fly. And then my
- 2:08:20Speaker 4: little boy just started just slinging like the S word.
- 2:08:23Speaker 4: And the best advice, this little quick dad tip, you
- 2:08:27Speaker 4: can't ignore. At that age, just ignore, ignore, ignore. Because
- 2:08:30Speaker 4: they want the attention, right?
- 2:08:31Speaker 1: Okay. So I just kind of ignored him, ignored him.
- 2:08:33Speaker 1: He said it a few times and he never said
- 2:08:35Speaker 1: it again. I was like, oh my goodness. Because my
- 2:08:37Speaker 1: worst fear is him saying it in front of my mom,
- 2:08:38Speaker 1: his grandma. Yeah. She's like, how in the world does
- 2:08:41Speaker 1: he know that? I'm like, I'm sorry, mother. But he
- 2:08:44Speaker 1: did that one day and I go, oh my God,
- 2:08:45Speaker 1: I don't think I've cussed around him since. Oh, good
- 2:08:48Speaker 1: for you. It is like, dude, when I start going
- 2:08:52Speaker 1: on the phone, especially when I'm working, like I'm coming
- 2:08:56Speaker 1: home from work, either something really great happened or something
- 2:09:00Speaker 1: just like worst day ever happened. And I'm starting to
- 2:09:03Speaker 1: pick up on it. Scarlett's not repeating any words I
- 2:09:05Speaker 1: say other than when I go up to her and say,
- 2:09:08Speaker 1: can you say ball? And then we'll get a little something.
- 2:09:11Speaker 1: But I'm starting to check myself a little bit too.
- 2:09:13Speaker 1: It's amazing what they absorb.
- 2:09:15Speaker 4: It's amazing.
- 2:09:16Speaker 1: All right. And that is this week's Dad Call-Ins presented
- 2:09:21Speaker 1: by Gravely. Click the link in the description below of

- 2:10:05Speaker 4: nights only at the clubs. Get the tickets. They're going fast.
- 2:10:08Speaker 4: Would love to talk to some PT sickos. Wouldn't that
- 2:10:13Speaker 4: be sick? If my show November, they were doing my
- 2:10:15Speaker 4: PT sicko. And I will say the army is, it
- 2:10:18Speaker 4: is strong.
- 2:10:20Speaker 1: It's, it's niche, but hopefully if you are a PT
- 2:10:23Speaker 1: sicko out there and you're seeing, you're checking those dates,
- 2:10:25Speaker 1: you're like, Ooh, I could go see Trey. Go say
- 2:10:30Speaker 1: what up to Trey. Do it. Do not beg the
- 2:10:33Speaker 1: comedy club to kick him out. It's not funny. The
- 2:10:36Speaker 1: bit's been done. We've moved on from it. Yeah. My
- 2:10:39Speaker 1: first show is in Eugene, Oregon. That's right. Yes.
- 2:10:43Speaker 4: First, I'm doing the club there. Beautiful city. The last
- 2:10:46Speaker 4: time I was there, me and the boys went to
- 2:10:47Speaker 4: see Oklahoma State, Oregon. They beat us 69-3. Oh, no.
- 2:10:51Speaker 1: But guess what? We redeemed this year, didn't we?
- 2:10:54Speaker 3: Oh, dude.
- 2:10:54Speaker 1: We beat the Ducks. I'm going back. Should I do
- 2:10:56Speaker 1: my show and just America's Brightest Orange? Yes, sir. I
- 2:11:00Speaker 1: really might have to do one of them. And maybe
- 2:11:01Speaker 1: a mullet wig, just R.I.P. Gundy. Just the mullet everything.
- 2:11:05Speaker 3: R.I.P.
- 2:11:05Speaker 1: Loved Gundy. Dude, thank you for coming on. This was
- 2:11:09Speaker 1: a blast.
- 2:11:09Speaker 4: Thank you for having me, man. You guys are awesome.
- 2:11:12Speaker 4: Really love what you're doing. We need more dad content
- 2:11:15Speaker 4: out there.
- 2:11:16Speaker 1: We do. With a positive spin. So being a dad's
- 2:11:17Speaker 1: the best. It's a lot. It's good. It's good.
- 2:11:21Speaker 3: Good.
- 2:11:22Speaker 1: Any extra from you guys? Any questions? The only thing,
- 2:11:25Speaker 1: do you have a lesson of the week or a
- 2:11:27Speaker 1: quote to toss us out with?
- 2:11:29Speaker 3: Okay.
- 2:11:29Speaker 5: We end each show with just a lesson, a quote.
- 2:11:31Speaker 1: They used to just be Dan Gable. We've expanded a
- 2:11:34Speaker 1: little bit. Okay. So here's what happened. Here's what happened.
- 2:11:39Speaker 1: I'm so sorry. No, you're fine. Cause I need to
- 2:11:41Speaker 1: call myself out. And if Will was here, he would,
- 2:11:45Speaker 1: he want me to accept responsibility and kind of just
- 2:11:49Speaker 1: say what happened. I knew you were a poke. I
- 2:11:52Speaker 1: love Mike Gundy, like huge man crush on Mike Gundy
- 2:11:57Speaker 1: and wish that he had coached a team that I
- 2:11:59Speaker 1: was a fan of. I was going to have a
- 2:12:01Speaker 1: parenting quote from Mike Gundy. That was going to read
- 2:12:05Speaker 1: and it was going to be very cute and fun.
- 2:12:07Speaker 1: Cause I would have gone and guess who that quote
- 2:12:09Speaker 1: was from Trey. Oh, who was it from Sherman? Mike Gundy.
- 2:12:12Speaker 1: And then we dap and it's the perfect end to
- 2:12:15Speaker 1: the episode. That would be beautiful. Uh, I only found
- 2:12:18Speaker 1: quotes about him coaching his son at Oklahoma state. And, uh,
- 2:12:23Speaker 1: there were some great quotes on there. There's some good ones.
- 2:12:27Speaker 1: I did just remember that famous meme of poor Mike
- 2:12:30Speaker 1: Gundy's kid in shotgun with the hands shaking. It's 48
- 2:12:34Speaker 1: to nothing. I remember watching that game. I go, boy,
- 2:12:38Speaker 1: oh boy. And I'm thinking, did that advice work? I
- 2:12:42Speaker 1: don't know. And I'm sorry for dogging my Gunny because
- 2:12:46Speaker 1: I truly love him.
- 2:12:47Speaker 4: Gunny said some great quotes. One of his players got
- 2:12:50Speaker 4: a DUI. Do you ever see that quote? He's like,
- 2:12:54Speaker 4: I've done that a couple hundred times.
- 2:12:56Speaker 1: We've all done it. We've all had like five or
- 2:12:59Speaker 1: six beers and driven. I've done that a bunch. You're like, wow,
- 2:13:03Speaker 1: you're good, but you're actually not good, you know, but
- 2:13:06Speaker 1: you are good. Cause you get home safe. Everything's good.
- 2:13:09Speaker 1: As soon as it left his mouth, you could just
- 2:13:11Speaker 1: tell all the blood. Yeah. I'm a man. I'm 40.
- 2:13:16Speaker 1: Oh my gosh. I still watch that like once a year.
- 2:13:19Speaker 1: What else?
- 2:13:20Speaker 4: And that genuinely that was that really was the moment
- 2:13:22Speaker 4: he his whole program like turned up a notch it
- 2:13:26Speaker 4: was that makes sense so you you want your son
- 2:13:28Speaker 4: playing for that guy maybe that's the lesson yeah okay
- 2:13:32Speaker 4: stand up because he was that i'm a 40 the
- 2:13:34Speaker 4: context people don't know his quarterback we it was like
- 2:13:37Speaker 4: our highest ranked recruit ever five star quarterback supposed to
- 2:13:40Speaker 4: be the guy freshman year he just wasn't doing good
- 2:13:43Speaker 4: he sucked and so he's getting reamed by the oklahoman
- 2:13:46Speaker 4: and Ridden him up.
- 2:13:47Speaker 1: This guy's a bust. He's a flop. And Gunny just
- 2:13:49Speaker 1: went to bat for him and just chewed out this reporter.
- 2:13:52Speaker 1: You write about me. That's a kid doing everything right.
- 2:13:57Speaker 1: Come after me. I'm a man. I'm 40. You come
- 2:14:00Speaker 1: after a kid that's doing everything right. Are you kidding me?
- 2:14:04Speaker 1: Who's the kid here? Who's the kid here? Yeah, who's
- 2:14:07Speaker 1: the kid here to the beat writer? Dude, that is
- 2:14:11Speaker 1: our dad. That's our lesson of the week is you
- 2:14:15Speaker 1: stand up for those that you love, but you stand
- 2:14:17Speaker 1: up for those that you have been put in a
- 2:14:19Speaker 1: position to mentor. You stand up for those. Sometimes you
- 2:14:23Speaker 1: got to do it. You got to stand up to them.
- 2:14:26Speaker 1: Take your trash out, guys. Have a great week. What
- 2:14:30Speaker 1: emoji would you want them to leave in the comments, Trey?
- 2:14:33Speaker 1: Give me the water gun. Go Pokes. Go Pokes. Pistols firing.
- 2:14:36Speaker 4: They won't let us have a real gun in the emojis,
- 2:14:38Speaker 4: which is a separate issue that we don't need to
- 2:14:40Speaker 4: talk about. But water guns, what we got to use
- 2:14:42Speaker 4: is Pokes fans.
- 2:14:43Speaker 1: Go Pokes. Go Pokes. And sadly, we don't play in
- 2:14:46Speaker 1: the regular season, but some are saying we might see
- 2:14:48Speaker 1: each other in Dallas. Y'all don't like it? Lagway? Come on.
- 2:14:55Speaker 1: Diaper bet if that happens. Oh, diaper bet? Would you
- 2:14:58Speaker 1: want to race for slips? I do a little diaper
- 2:15:01Speaker 1: bet each week. Walk me through a diaper bet. He's
- 2:15:04Speaker 1: out in three.
- 2:15:04Speaker 3: I am.
- 2:15:05Speaker 1: So if you want your pokes to win, you might
- 2:15:07Speaker 1: want to bet me some diapers. We just, we race
- 2:15:11Speaker 1: straight up. It's a Moneyline bet. I buy your newborn.
- 2:15:16Speaker 1: Remind me his name. Miles.
- 2:15:17Speaker 4: Miles.
- 2:15:17Speaker 1: You're good. I don't think I even said it. Yeah, Miles.
- 2:15:19Speaker 1: I would buy Miles a pack of whatever said diapers,
- 2:15:23Speaker 1: even if it's like coterie. I don't care, dude. I'll
- 2:15:26Speaker 1: buy it. You ever had coteries? They're nice. We've had
- 2:15:29Speaker 1: a few gifted. And brother, let me tell you. It
- 2:15:32Speaker 1: really is nice. It is nice. People kind of diaper shame,
- 2:15:37Speaker 1: especially at daycare. They'll be like, oh, they're just huggies.
- 2:15:41Speaker 1: I don't have a problem with huggies. But then you
- 2:15:43Speaker 1: see some of it. It's like a race car. That's
- 2:15:44Speaker 1: why I call it racing for slips. But I'll go
- 2:15:48Speaker 1: straight up with you. Straight up.
- 2:15:50Speaker 4: We're saying in the hypothetical that it's Baylor Pokes. Fictitional, hypothetical.
- 2:15:54Speaker 1: Done. Deal.
- 2:15:55Speaker 3: All right.
- 2:15:56Speaker 1: That's so fun.
- 2:15:57Speaker 4: Have you already done the delusional like, like the pokes
- 2:16:00Speaker 4: have now won a couple of games. I've already like
- 2:16:02Speaker 4: blocked the calendar for the playoff.
- 2:16:04Speaker 1: Oh buddy. You know, you do that, you know, babe,
- 2:16:06Speaker 1: just real quick, you know, January one, I might be busy.
- 2:16:09Speaker 1: Cancel the hotel room. Might be at the Rose. 48
- 2:16:11Speaker 1: hours before.
- 2:16:12Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 2:16:13Speaker 1: Our seven and five. You're like, I don't know. Our
- 2:16:15Speaker 1: boy coop. That's our graphic designer here is a poke.
- 2:16:18Speaker 1: And I, as soon as this wraps, I would love
- 2:16:21Speaker 1: for y'all to just, if you need to race out,
- 2:16:23Speaker 1: it's totally fine. But I feel like y'all talk through
- 2:16:25Speaker 1: some delusional, like any good sports fan. Oh yeah. Oh, yeah. Oh, great.
- 2:16:31Speaker 1: We'll enjoy that. Yeah, deal. See you in Dallas.
- 2:16:33Speaker 3: Deal.
- 2:16:34Speaker 1: See you in Dallas.
- 2:16:35Speaker 4: Yep.
- 2:16:36Speaker 1: Take the trash out. We love you. Water guns. Go Pokes.
