Transcript
- 0:00Speaker 1: Thanks Mike Lane. It was a gutsy come from behind
- 0:03Speaker 1: and win against Vegas the other night. Just take us
- 0:05Speaker 1: through two comebacks, two two goal comebacks and then the
- 0:09Speaker 1: ultimate shootout winner.
- 0:11Speaker 2: Yeah, well, I thought we played I thought we played
- 0:13Speaker 2: hard again. You know, we talked about it after the game.
- 0:17Speaker 2: You know, there's been, you know, a large handful of
- 0:21Speaker 2: games that were just like that that we ended up
- 0:23Speaker 2: on the wrong side of, you know, So it was
- 0:26Speaker 2: nice stand up on the right side, certainly being down
- 0:28Speaker 2: to nothing then three to one in the third period
- 0:30Speaker 2: and coming back and win the hockey game. You know,
- 0:33Speaker 2: our guys showed a lot of character and for sure,
- 0:35Speaker 2: it was an exciting hockey game. The overtime was great.
- 0:38Speaker 1: Cracking got some puck luck to go their way for
- 0:40Speaker 1: a James Berkeley Catton capitalizing off the stanchion goal. A
- 0:43Speaker 1: very nice move by Maddie in the shootout, wouldjamake of
- 0:46Speaker 1: the bounces in the Kraken. Generating enough offense in that
- 0:49Speaker 1: game against Vegas.
- 0:50Speaker 2: Yeah, I thought, you know, I thought we generated enough.
- 0:53Speaker 2: I thought we've been generating. You know, we certainly have
- 0:56Speaker 2: generated more offense than meets the eye, and when you
- 1:00Speaker 2: know the numbers indicate we've generated more often since the break,
- 1:04Speaker 2: our defense have been hasn't been as good, So you know,
- 1:07Speaker 2: there's that fine line, that balance that you have to
- 1:10Speaker 2: come up with. But certainly, you know, great bounce for us,
- 1:13Speaker 2: you know, for Berkeley to get his goal, which was
- 1:15Speaker 2: a second goal, and then we just kept at it
- 1:18Speaker 2: and we had some good opportunities. I give our power
- 1:21Speaker 2: play credit for, you know, getting us into the game
- 1:25Speaker 2: here down to nothing and scoring, and then we had
- 1:27Speaker 2: some great momentum off of that as well. So we're
- 1:30Speaker 2: looking forward to continuing that today.
- 1:32Speaker 1: Nick A Coco set to get his first NHL start
- 1:35Speaker 1: today for the Crack and he backed up last year
- 1:37Speaker 1: and came in relief and victor ouspen called up as well.
- 1:40Speaker 1: Three goalies all year long and now this weekend the
- 1:43Speaker 1: Crack and have to call up two more. What's going
- 1:45Speaker 1: to be the game plan for those two? And just
- 1:48Speaker 1: give us your overall thoughts on the goaltending situation. How's
- 1:50Speaker 1: Gubauer doing, How's Murray doing, how's the core doing well?
- 1:53Speaker 2: Murr is tenant to a family matter which is extremely important,
- 1:57Speaker 2: and he's been a good sold in a worrior for
- 2:01Speaker 2: us all year long. Grubian and Joey are both out,
- 2:05Speaker 2: and you know right now, day to day, we'll see
- 2:08Speaker 2: how long that lasts. So you know, Osman played last
- 2:11Speaker 2: night in Coachella Valley and he's in here to back
- 2:15Speaker 2: up today. Coco gets his second I guess, his first
- 2:18Speaker 2: start and his second appearance in the National Hockey League,
- 2:23Speaker 2: you know, So you know, I'm looking forward to seeing
- 2:26Speaker 2: what that is and how that is. He's talked about,
- 2:30Speaker 2: you know, one of the kids of the future, so
- 2:33Speaker 2: you know, I'm certainly hoping that he has a good game.
- 2:36Speaker 1: Bob Condor asked you this morning about the conversations that
- 2:39Speaker 1: you have with Derek Laxtall and the staff down in
- 2:42Speaker 1: Coachella Valley. What are those conversations and how do you
- 2:45Speaker 1: prepare your defense and Nick Coco to come into a
- 2:49Speaker 1: game like this.
- 2:50Speaker 2: Well, I think that first of all, with Lax and I,
- 2:53Speaker 2: you know, there's some communication. We're both busy. There's go
- 2:56Speaker 2: betweens obviously bought Sin Troy Boder, and constant communication. You know,
- 3:00Speaker 2: a lot of the decisions on who comes up and
- 3:02Speaker 2: down are made by those two guys. So you know,
- 3:07Speaker 2: with Lax and I, you're just keep in touch about
- 3:10Speaker 2: you know certain things system wise and things like that,
- 3:13Speaker 2: and you know who he thinks is the best player
- 3:15Speaker 2: at the time when somebody's getting called up. You know,
- 3:18Speaker 2: as far as you know the goaltending, the defense, all that.
- 3:22Speaker 2: Obviously there isn't you know, there isn't a familiarity between
- 3:27Speaker 2: our defense corps and Coco. But you know, hockey's hockey,
- 3:31Speaker 2: and you know, we'll see what happens. But certainly we
- 3:35Speaker 2: have to defend well for the kid and you know,
- 3:38Speaker 2: do our best to try and keep their scoring chances
- 3:41Speaker 2: at a minimum.
- 3:42Speaker 1: Despite being eliminated from playoffs, the Flames are five three
- 3:45Speaker 1: and two in their last ten games, so they have
- 3:47Speaker 1: not rolled over in the last stretch of the of
- 3:49Speaker 1: the campaign. What can the crack and expect out of
- 3:52Speaker 1: this team.
- 3:52Speaker 2: Tonight, Well, exactly. You know, they're in my mind, they're
- 3:57Speaker 2: a big team. They got some size. Certainly, they go
- 4:01Speaker 2: to the net hard. You know, that's the way they're built.
- 4:04Speaker 2: You know, they made some deals at the trade deadline,
- 4:08Speaker 2: moving some guys out for some pieces for the future
- 4:12Speaker 2: and are playing good hockey right now. I expect it
- 4:15Speaker 2: to be an extremely competitive, hard fought hockey game. You know,
- 4:19Speaker 2: in a game where we need to win
