- 0:20Speaker 1: get right into it. As we fully transition into this
- 0:24Speaker 1: week's matchup, let's run through the broadcast info, betting lines,
- 0:27Speaker 1: and matchup history. For kickoff, we're looking for a late
- 0:30Speaker 1: afternoon window this week, 425 p.m. Eastern on Sunday. You
- 0:35Speaker 1: can watch the game nationally on CBS with Jim Nance, J.J. Watt,
- 0:39Speaker 1: and Tracy Wolfson on the call. Right here in Western
- 0:42Speaker 1: New York, turn into 97 Rock with Chris Brown, Eric Wood,
- 0:45Speaker 1: and Steve Tasker. For the national radio broadcast, Compass Media
- 0:49Speaker 1: Networks will have Josh Lewin and Lincoln Kennedy on the call.
- 0:53Speaker 1: This game opens up with the Bills favored at around
- 0:55Speaker 1: minus 4.5 on the road, with the over-unders sitting at
- 0:59Speaker 1: about 53.5 total points. When you look back at the
- 1:03Speaker 1: all-time history between these two, it's tight. The Bills and
- 1:06Speaker 1: Raiders have squared off 43 times, including two postseason games,
- 1:10Speaker 1: with the Bills holding a razor-thin margin at 22-21. Overall,
- 1:15Speaker 1: the Bills have won the last couple of meetings, including
- 1:17Speaker 1: a dominant 38-10 victory in the home opener back in 2023.
- 1:22Speaker 1: Let's dive into Thursday's official injury report for both teams.
- 1:24Speaker 1: Starting with Vegas, tight end Brock Bowers and Fulorunchu Fatukashi
- 1:29Speaker 1: both upgraded from limited on Wednesday to full on Thursday.
- 1:33Speaker 1: Jalen Naylor with a concussion upgraded from did not participate
- 1:36Speaker 1: to limited, while Taka Hemingway, also with a concussion, remained
- 1:39Speaker 1: as it did not participate. Tight end Carter Runyon, foot,
- 1:43Speaker 1: and guard Trey Zune, knee, remained as limited. Now over
- 1:47Speaker 1: to the Bills. Offensive tackle Spencer Brown with a back
- 1:51Speaker 1: got great news upgrading from limited on Wednesday to full
- 1:54Speaker 1: on Thursday. Cornerback Dee Alford with an ankle, running back
- 1:58Speaker 1: Ty Johnson with a hamstring, wide receiver Joshua Palmer with
- 2:01Speaker 1: a shoulder, and defensive lineman T.J. Sanders with a shoulder
- 2:05Speaker 1: all remained limited. Wide receiver D.J. Moore with a shoulder
- 2:09Speaker 1: and defensive lineman Ed Oliver with a knee both missed
- 2:12Speaker 1: their second straight practice to start the week. We'll see
- 2:15Speaker 1: how the designations look on Friday for the final session
- 2:18Speaker 1: before game statuses get locked in.
- 2:21Speaker 2: Bradley Chubb spoke to the media and set the record
- 2:24Speaker 2: straight on what happened between him and Rams left tackle
- 2:27Speaker 2: Larrick Jackson after the game that provoked him enough to
- 2:30Speaker 2: throw a punch and get a one-game suspension he said
- 2:33Speaker 2: quote i went up to him and i said hey
- 2:36Speaker 2: we're going to see y'all again and when we see
- 2:38Speaker 2: y'all again that chip isn't going to save you that
- 2:40Speaker 2: tight end that guard aren't going to save you that's
- 2:43Speaker 2: what i said but chubb is ready to turn the
- 2:47Speaker 2: page on the situation he said instead hoping the team
- 2:50Speaker 2: keeps the momentum going and keeps winning The edge rusher
- 2:54Speaker 2: said Max Crosby is someone he likes to watch. He
- 2:57Speaker 2: sees that Crosby always has energy and is always around
- 3:00Speaker 2: the ball. Quote, he's finding a way to be around
- 3:03Speaker 2: it and in it every play. He's going to give
- 3:05Speaker 2: the person in front of him hell. It might be
- 3:07Speaker 2: two people, might be three people, but he's always active,
- 3:10Speaker 2: always moving, always using his hands, his feet. He's got
- 3:14Speaker 2: good footwork and his motor. It helps him stand apart
- 3:17Speaker 2: for sure. Spencer Brown spoke to the media and the
- 3:20Speaker 2: right tackle talked about his injury that caused him to
- 3:23Speaker 2: miss most of the game against the Rams. He explained
- 3:26Speaker 2: that he tweaked his back, but it was nothing major.
- 3:29Speaker 2: He said that he had an MRI and the results
- 3:31Speaker 2: looked better than they did last year when he had
- 3:33Speaker 2: a similar injury. So from a long-term perspective, that's good
- 3:36Speaker 2: to hear. When asked about Tylan Grable stepping up in
- 3:40Speaker 2: his place, Brown said he, quote, couldn't be more proud
- 3:43Speaker 2: of him. He explained that Grable kept asking on the sideline,
- 3:46Speaker 2: what do you think? What do you think? And Brown said,
- 3:49Speaker 2: don't ask me anything, dude. You're in the game and
- 3:52Speaker 2: you're playing well. So don't change your thing. Don't worry
- 3:55Speaker 2: about what I'm thinking or what coach is thinking. Just
- 3:57Speaker 2: go out there and play your game. Grable spoke to
- 4:00Speaker 2: the media as well, explaining that on game days, he
- 4:03Speaker 2: takes the approach of preparing as if he'll be on
- 4:06Speaker 2: the field, which helps him stay mentally ready. He says
- 4:09Speaker 2: that he's been around the league for a couple of
- 4:11Speaker 2: years now, so he's been able to see players with
- 4:13Speaker 2: the same job and study them and see how they've
- 4:16Speaker 2: attacked each day, especially on game days. And so that's
- 4:20Speaker 2: carried over to his preparation in translation to how he
- 4:24Speaker 2: takes advantage of every rep on every day. Dion Walker
- 4:28Speaker 2: spoke to the media, and the defensive tackle explained that
- 4:31Speaker 2: road trips like this, where they're staying on the West Coast,
- 4:34Speaker 2: allow the team to get closer, and it allows him
- 4:37Speaker 2: specifically to bond more with teammates he normally doesn't interact
- 4:40Speaker 2: with during a normal weekly schedule. So he appreciates the
- 4:44Speaker 2: opportunity for the team to grow closer. And Walker said
- 4:48Speaker 2: he was shocked by the actions of Aleric Jackson, saying
- 4:51Speaker 2: that he wanted to de-escalate the situation as soon as
- 4:55Speaker 2: he saw Jackson's punch. He believes that it could be
- 4:57Speaker 2: something the defense can even rally around in the future.
- 5:01Speaker 2: As the Bills head to Vegas to take on the Raiders,
- 5:03Speaker 2: let's take a quick look at referee Sean Smith and
- 5:05Speaker 2: his crew as they'll be officiating this one. If you
- 5:08Speaker 2: remember last week against Scott Novak's crew, it was an
- 5:11Speaker 2: absolute whistle fest filled with penalty chaos. With Sean Smith,
- 5:15Speaker 2: you're going to get a slightly different style, but there
- 5:17Speaker 2: are going to be some interesting trends to keep an
- 5:19Speaker 2: eye on. First off, Sean Smith's crew tends to keep
- 5:22Speaker 2: the total flag count right around or slightly below the
- 5:25Speaker 2: league average, averaging roughly 12.
- 5:27Speaker 1: Penalties a game. But historically, Smith's crew has been one
- 5:30Speaker 1: of the biggest road team and underdog advantages in the NFL.
- 5:35Speaker 1: For years, tracking across Smith's games has shown that home
- 5:38Speaker 1: teams struggle mightily to cover the spread under his watch,
- 5:41Speaker 1: with road teams enjoying some of the highest success rates
- 5:43Speaker 1: in the NFL with him as the referee. Bottom line,
- 5:46Speaker 1: it'll be a road environment against the 3-2 Raiders squad,
- 5:49Speaker 1: but the trends show that the home advantage might not
- 5:51Speaker 1: mean a whole lot when it comes down to how
- 5:53Speaker 1: the officials are going to call this game.
- 5:56Speaker 2: Stat of the day. According to Scott Barrett, the Raiders
- 6:00Speaker 2: have the worst run defense in the NFL. by running
- 6:04Speaker 2: back yards before contact per attempt. Their 3.11 yards before
- 6:10Speaker 2: contact per attempt is the worst mark by any defense
- 6:13Speaker 2: since 2021. Meanwhile, on the flip side of that stat,
- 6:18Speaker 2: the Bills offense has the best mark of running back
- 6:22Speaker 2: yards before contact per attempt at 3.65. And that number
- 6:28Speaker 2: is the best by any team since 2021. Missed the
- 6:32Speaker 2: Cover 1 Buffalo podcast last night? Greg Thompson and Aaron
