- 0:07Speaker 3: Hands to Hester, and Hester, yep, got it, five out
- 0:11Speaker 3: of five.
- 0:11Speaker 1: You're locked in to Off the Bench.
- 0:13Speaker 4: Flynn is back to throw.
- 0:14Speaker 5: For the end zone ball.
- 0:18Speaker 1: Live from the Raising Cane Studio, here's Jacob Hester and
- 0:22Speaker 1: Matt Flynn.
- 0:23Speaker 6: Off the bench.
- 0:37Speaker 4: Bye.
- 0:43Speaker 2: Bye. Welcome in OTB here on this Tuesday morning. Every
- 1:06Speaker 2: Tuesday brought to you by our friends at Community Steel, communitysteelco.com
- 1:10Speaker 2: right there in Gonzales, Louisiana.
- 1:14Speaker 3: Jake, Flynn, Alondra, Tay-Tay all here with you.
- 1:19Speaker 2: How we doing? How we living?
- 1:20Speaker 3: I know it's your favorite day of the week.
- 1:22Speaker 2: It is my favorite day. I woke up very excited today.
- 1:24Speaker 2: I did not hear any Busta Rhymes coming in.
- 1:26Speaker 3: Did a ninja get up?
- 1:27Speaker 6: I was not asked to break our necks this morning.
- 1:32Speaker 3: Well, I was very focused.
- 1:34Speaker 6: I could tell.
- 1:35Speaker 3: On my computer. Crunching numbers.
- 1:37Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:39Speaker 4: Oh.
- 1:39Speaker 6: QB rankings?
- 1:40Speaker 7: No, not QB rankings tomorrow. I'll crunch the numbers tomorrow.
- 1:44Speaker 7: This was more.
- 1:45Speaker 3: Oh, film? I did that yesterday.
- 1:47Speaker 7: There's a little bit more film I got to do
- 1:50Speaker 7: before we film today.
- 1:51Speaker 2: Okay.
- 1:52Speaker 3: Well, no, a couple of notes I got to take.
- 1:53Speaker 3: I was crunching some numbers on some nerdy stuff.
- 1:55Speaker 4: Okay.
- 1:56Speaker 3: I was making a big offer on some.
- 1:59Speaker 6: Oh, cards?
- 2:00Speaker 3: On some cards.
- 2:00Speaker 2: Star Wars?
- 2:03Speaker 3: Trying to salvage a deal. Yeah.
- 2:05Speaker 6: Oh, salvage one.
- 2:06Speaker 3: Trying to salvage a deal right now.
- 2:07Speaker 2: You had a deal in place for a long time.
- 2:09Speaker 2: I had a deal in place since the end of
- 2:10Speaker 2: July with a guy. With a bulk buy.
- 2:13Speaker 7: And the problem is he didn't want to do it remotely.
- 2:18Speaker 7: He wanted to meet up at a card show. to
- 2:21Speaker 7: exchange the deal.
- 2:22Speaker 3: Yeah. You know, like a, you know, cash in a
- 2:25Speaker 3: briefcase type situation.
- 2:26Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 2:27Speaker 7: Well, no, it's probably the most, like he wanted to
- 2:30Speaker 7: meet with a group of people, you know? Um, and
- 2:33Speaker 7: I was like, all right, well, that's fine.
- 2:35Speaker 2: But football season starting, you can Google me. Like I
- 2:38Speaker 2: have a Google out there.
- 2:39Speaker 3: Yeah. I mean, I'm talking to him via Instagram. So
- 2:42Speaker 3: like he sees, he sees me.
- 2:44Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 2:44Speaker 3: Okay.
- 2:44Speaker 4: Right.
- 2:45Speaker 7: So he knows I'm not just, you know, some guy,
- 2:47Speaker 7: I'm a big star Wars guy, you know? And, um,
- 2:52Speaker 7: So he doesn't want to do the deal because he
- 2:54Speaker 7: doesn't want to get lost in the mail or whatever.
- 2:56Speaker 7: I get that. Obviously, football season's starting. I can't just
- 2:59Speaker 7: run to a card show anywhere in the country. Where's
- 3:03Speaker 7: he located?
- 3:04Speaker 2: L.A.
- 3:04Speaker 6: Oh.
- 3:05Speaker 3: Lower Alabama. Lower Alabama. Louisiana. California. Yeah, because the weather's
- 3:12Speaker 3: great out there. What part of California? L.A. I don't know.
- 3:15Speaker 2: L.A., L.A.? Yeah, I don't know.
- 3:17Speaker 3: We didn't get to L.A.
- 3:18Speaker 2: Some people say L.A. and they're in Orange County.
- 3:21Speaker 3: Yeah, I'm not sure.
- 3:22Speaker 7: Well, since then, our deal, values have gone way up.
- 3:30Speaker 3: It's nearly doubled what we had offered.
- 3:32Speaker 2: I hate that.
- 3:32Speaker 3: Nearly doubled. If you'd have gotten the deal done, you
- 3:35Speaker 3: would have already doubled your money. I would have doubled it,
- 3:37Speaker 3: maybe tripled it.
- 3:39Speaker 6: Oh, what a missed opportunity.
- 3:41Speaker 3: I know, because I didn't want to leave the foxhole.
- 3:44Speaker 3: That's so brutal.
- 3:46Speaker 7: It was like two opportunities, and I was like, hey, look,
- 3:48Speaker 7: how about we just get a third party?
- 3:49Speaker 3: We'll get a middleman. He didn't want to do that either.
- 3:52Speaker 7: And then a couple of weeks ago, after the prices
- 3:55Speaker 7: already started going up a little bit, I was like,
- 3:56Speaker 7: I got a guy that's going to be in L.A.
- 3:59Speaker 7: He can do it. He was like, no, I'd rather
- 4:02Speaker 7: do it at a car show. He was stalling, I think.
- 4:04Speaker 7: Just to really see if those prices were going to hold.
- 4:07Speaker 7: I didn't really have a guy.
- 4:08Speaker 3: I was just going to send somebody.
- 4:10Speaker 2: I didn't have a guy.
- 4:11Speaker 3: I was just going to send somebody. Here's my guy.
- 4:13Speaker 3: Taylor Sharpe.
- 4:14Speaker 8: It just so happens to be in L.A. I will
- 4:17Speaker 8: show up in an alleyway in L.A.
- 4:19Speaker 3: For some cards. I'll do it. What do I do?
- 4:22Speaker 3: Is this a drug deal? I don't know how Razor's
- 4:24Speaker 3: mom would feel. No, that's a Darth Vader Star Wars card.
- 4:28Speaker 8: I'll wake Victoria up. Hey, you got to drive me
- 4:30Speaker 8: to the airport at 3 a.m. I'm going to go
- 4:32Speaker 8: pick up a package for Matt.
- 4:34Speaker 6: Star Wars cards.
- 4:35Speaker 3: Star Wars cards. Not a big deal. Way out on
- 4:37Speaker 3: the West Coast. Victoria, you don't even understand. Yeah. You
- 4:40Speaker 3: wouldn't get it. You wouldn't get it. Do you even
- 4:43Speaker 3: Star Wars? Razor would get it.
- 4:45Speaker 7: So I'm crunching some numbers, trying to salvage this deal. Luckily,
- 4:49Speaker 7: two of the most valuable cards that are in that
- 4:53Speaker 7: bulk I've run into in the last couple of months.
- 4:56Speaker 3: I have those.
- 4:57Speaker 1: Oh, okay.
- 4:57Speaker 3: So I got to complete.
- 4:59Speaker 2: You don't need them.
- 4:59Speaker 3: I don't need them. So I'm trying to get those
- 5:01Speaker 3: taken out of the deal.
- 5:03Speaker 6: Okay.
- 5:04Speaker 3: But keep the deal. Yeah. Since I've already felt the
- 5:10Speaker 3: benefit of the run-up of those cards.
- 5:12Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 5:12Speaker 2: That's what I'm saying.
- 5:14Speaker 7: I have people in L.A. If you need a person,
- 5:17Speaker 7: they're already out there. Well, I don't know if he
- 5:20Speaker 7: was afraid of the dark alley situation. Didn't want anybody
- 5:25Speaker 7: to come to L.A.
- 5:26Speaker 3: To do it. Wanted to be at a show. I
- 5:28Speaker 3: could not wait. Tomorrow, Wednesday meeting.
- 5:31Speaker 8: My screen is going to be reading off the things
- 5:32Speaker 8: and be like, Flynn, it says you put in a
- 5:34Speaker 8: vacation day coming up next week.
- 5:36Speaker 3: And you're like, got to go to L.A. It's not
- 5:37Speaker 3: a vacation. It's work. Not a vacation.
- 5:40Speaker 6: This is a deal.
- 5:41Speaker 3: This is a deal. Deal's going down.
- 5:44Speaker 6: Money is being made.
- 5:44Speaker 2: This is business. YouTube numbers. See how we're doing.
- 5:48Speaker 3: Oh, Neo4. Charting out.
- 5:50Speaker 6: Killing it.
- 5:51Speaker 3: Killing it. This segment's going to crush it.
- 5:53Speaker 2: I know that.
- 5:56Speaker 6: Everybody wants to hear about this.
- 5:58Speaker 3: I know they do. You know, I think we all
- 6:00Speaker 3: have those deals.
- 6:00Speaker 8: God.
- 6:01Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 6:02Speaker 2: It's not just cards.
- 6:03Speaker 7: Why didn't I just go fly to Vegas for that
- 6:06Speaker 7: show a month and a half ago?
- 6:10Speaker 6: Was it like in the middle of the week or
- 6:12Speaker 6: what was it?
- 6:13Speaker 3: It was a weekend, but the football season already started.
- 6:16Speaker 2: I feel like you're blaming us when really it's just
- 6:18Speaker 2: like you can't leave your family.
- 6:20Speaker 3: If it's a weekend, what do we matter?
- 6:22Speaker 7: Well, like, I guess I could have done like an
- 6:25Speaker 7: in and out. Like a Saturday.
- 6:27Speaker 2: Morning fly out Sunday.
- 6:29Speaker 6: Or even fly out late Saturday.
- 6:31Speaker 3: I could have done that. I could have done that.
- 6:33Speaker 3: But then I would have missed football.
- 6:34Speaker 6: I'm here for the foxhole. No, it's on a weekend.
- 6:37Speaker 3: Blame it, y'all. I made these decisions.
- 6:39Speaker 2: You did technically say I wouldn't leave the foxhole.
- 6:42Speaker 3: I didn't want to leave the foxhole. That was my decision.
- 6:44Speaker 3: But you didn't believe in us. It was my decision.
- 6:46Speaker 4: Now.
- 6:47Speaker 7: I didn't feel like. In my brain, I never played
- 6:49Speaker 7: it out like I would have fly it. And also,
- 6:52Speaker 7: we had a deal.
- 6:53Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 6:53Speaker 3: So it was also a situation where it was like.
- 6:55Speaker 6: Now he's going back on it.
- 6:56Speaker 7: I didn't think this guy... Because he's like a real
- 6:58Speaker 7: car dealer. He's not just like a rando.
- 7:00Speaker 3: He's not on the black market or anything.
- 7:02Speaker 4: My bad.
- 7:02Speaker 6: I didn't realize he was like.
- 7:03Speaker 3: We didn't know you were dealing with an arms dealer.
- 7:05Speaker 6: I didn't realize he was a big deal.
- 7:07Speaker 3: Matt's like, this guy's international, y'all. I gotta explain. I mean,
- 7:10Speaker 3: he's super close to even having a blue checkmark on
- 7:12Speaker 3: this thing on Instagram.
- 7:14Speaker 8: Was he going to take out the price of your
- 7:17Speaker 8: flight to.
- 7:18Speaker 3: LA out of the box?
- 7:20Speaker 4: Oh, no.
- 7:20Speaker 3: Oh, no. I don't think you should make this deal.
- 7:23Speaker 3: You don't?
- 7:23Speaker 8: This guy keeps stalling. I think he was stalling, knowing
- 7:26Speaker 8: the price is going to go up. He's going to
- 7:28Speaker 8: make you fly out to L.A. You already got the
- 7:29Speaker 8: most valuable cards. I don't think you should make this deal.
- 7:32Speaker 3: Well, I, so, okay, I hear you.
- 7:35Speaker 8: This seems more like a pride thing on your part,
- 7:37Speaker 8: like I closed the deal, than actually like.
- 7:40Speaker 3: Oh, no. If you see these numbers, they're good numbers.
- 7:44Speaker 3: It's going to do numbers.
- 7:46Speaker 7: Well, in fairness to him, we were both going to
- 7:50Speaker 7: fly and use our own money to meet at a
- 7:52Speaker 7: card show.
- 7:55Speaker 4: Eh? Eh?
- 7:56Speaker 3: Am I selling it? That's a little bit better.
- 8:01Speaker 4: Okay.
- 8:04Speaker 2: Sorry about this. Because I know you. I've known you
- 8:06Speaker 2: for two decades. I know how your brain works. We're
- 8:10Speaker 2: not going to have you today. We'll have you.
- 8:14Speaker 3: Well, your body will be here. Oh, no. I'm here.
- 8:16Speaker 2: And we'll have 15% of your brain. No, I've already.
- 8:19Speaker 2: This deal went south two nights ago. Yeah, but it
- 8:23Speaker 2: feels like it's really hitting home today.
- 8:25Speaker 7: Day no it was it was sitting home two nights
- 8:30Speaker 7: ago we had an argument you know thumb wars you
- 8:36Speaker 7: know you could really tell you we don't we don't
- 8:39Speaker 7: we don't talk you know with our mouths yeah thumb
- 8:42Speaker 7: yeah instagram messages where's the relationship as we sit i
- 8:48Speaker 7: just i just shot over a little message trying to
- 8:51Speaker 7: salvage the deal At 509 AM.
- 8:53Speaker 3: Yeah, it's a little early there. He's an early riser,
- 8:56Speaker 3: I'm sure. A lot of deals to get to, so
- 9:00Speaker 3: he probably went up early. He's got a lot of deals.
- 9:03Speaker 3: Got a lot of deals.
- 9:04Speaker 7: I just had to come in here and crunch the
- 9:06Speaker 7: numbers to make sure my new offer to try to
- 9:09Speaker 7: salvage this deal was feasible.
- 9:13Speaker 2: Now, there's new comps out there. I think you need.
- 9:18Speaker 3: To know thyself a lot of times, right?
- 9:20Speaker 4: Sure.
- 9:21Speaker 2: You know you're cheap and you lowball everybody on cards, right?
- 9:24Speaker 3: Sure.
- 9:24Speaker 4: Okay.
- 9:25Speaker 3: All right. This one's fair, though, since we already had
- 9:29Speaker 3: a deal. Might not be fair market value, but it's
- 9:33Speaker 3: fair to me.
- 9:33Speaker 2: Now, as someone that's gotten blocked from multiple, multiple people
- 9:39Speaker 2: on eBay.
- 9:40Speaker 3: Three people.
- 9:40Speaker 2: I have to do your bidding for you. Are you
- 9:44Speaker 2: sure you haven't said something to upset this dealer?
- 9:48Speaker 3: Hmm. No, I think I'm good. I think we're good.
- 9:53Speaker 3: I bought something else from him like three or four
- 9:56Speaker 3: months ago. So he knows. money was good. It's not
- 10:02Speaker 3: the money. You already bought something from him and got it? Yeah.
- 10:07Speaker 3: It was a smaller deal.
- 10:08Speaker 8: I was going to say he's okay with shipping that,
- 10:10Speaker 8: but not this? This deal, he was not okay with
- 10:12Speaker 8: shipping it. This just gets more and more shady, Matt.
- 10:16Speaker 3: Hey, sometimes you got a high risk, high reward. You
- 10:19Speaker 3: know what I mean? That's what my life's all about.
- 10:22Speaker 8: What happens if you fly out there, get it? They're like,
- 10:27Speaker 8: you can't bring this back on the plane with you.
- 10:30Speaker 3: Oh, that puppy's sitting in his lap on the plane. Oh, yeah. No,
- 10:33Speaker 3: it's only like a box this big. That's all I
- 10:40Speaker 3: can think about. I know. When I said I've known
- 10:43Speaker 3: you for two decades. Yeah, but I'm not going to
- 10:44Speaker 3: be upset about it. I was upset about it two
- 10:46Speaker 3: nights ago.
- 10:47Speaker 2: Well, I didn't even really mean upset.
- 10:50Speaker 3: I just meant your focus and attention.
- 10:52Speaker 2: Oh, yeah.
- 10:52Speaker 3: No, it's going to be on film.
- 10:54Speaker 2: Okay. Today is film day. Today is film day. I
- 10:57Speaker 2: told you I got 25 cut-ups today. Today is an
- 10:59Speaker 2: eye in the sky day.
- 11:01Speaker 3: I'm excited about it.
- 11:02Speaker 2: I hope you have that one that I was talking about.
- 11:04Speaker 3: Probably.
- 11:05Speaker 7: Like I said, I don't really remember the guys' names.
- 11:08Speaker 7: Their numbers don't really tell me what position they play anymore.
- 11:11Speaker 2: It's true, too. I'll give you that.
- 11:12Speaker 3: Outside the defensive line, I'm like, is that guy backer
- 11:14Speaker 3: or safety? What is he? I don't know. Star. That's
- 11:16Speaker 3: not a thing.
- 11:18Speaker 2: They said star so many times in the press conference yesterday.
- 11:20Speaker 3: I was like, oh, Matt would hate that. It's so annoying.
- 11:23Speaker 7: I'm sure it was mostly the media people.
- 11:26Speaker 3: Yeah. Man, what about the star position? Yeah. All right.
- 11:39Speaker 2: On that note, take a break. When we come back,
- 11:43Speaker 2: had a little football last night. We can talk about that.
- 11:47Speaker 2: Talk about LSU and A & M because today is
- 11:49Speaker 2: an eye in the sky day. So we'll have a
- 11:51Speaker 2: full review of the film. What's coming up for LSU?
- 11:56Speaker 2: All of those things when we come back here on
- 11:58Speaker 2: our TV.

- 13:26Speaker 4: Off the Bench with Jacob Hester.
- 13:55Speaker 1: And Matt Flynn, presented by Community Steel.
- 14:02Speaker 3: All right, welcome back in. OTB.
- 14:06Speaker 2: Again, every single Tuesday brought to you by our friends
- 14:08Speaker 2: over at Community Steel. CommunitySteelCo.com. Building, sheetings, components right there
- 14:13Speaker 2: in Gonzales, Louisiana. CommunitySteelCo.com. All right, we had some NFL
- 14:21Speaker 2: action last night, and well, The NFL just continues to NFL.
- 14:26Speaker 2: You never really know who's good, who's bad. From week
- 14:29Speaker 2: to week, it can change. Starting quarterback, backup quarterback, it
- 14:33Speaker 2: does not matter. The Chicago Bears, after not scoring a
- 14:36Speaker 2: touchdown against the Minnesota Vikings, they beat the Philadelphia Eagles
- 14:40Speaker 2: with Case Keenum at quarterback. Hasn't thrown a pass since
- 14:44Speaker 2: 2023 in the NFL, and they beat them 27-7.
- 14:50Speaker 3: Hadn't scored a rushing touchdown. I think they said since 2019,
- 14:52Speaker 3: I believe.
- 14:54Speaker 7: He got one of each, Matt. He got two thrown
- 14:57Speaker 7: and one run. It was pretty awesome. Yeah, the NFL
- 15:01Speaker 7: delivers week in, week out.
- 15:03Speaker 3: It's awesome.
- 15:05Speaker 7: There's hardly ever a week where something surprising doesn't happen
- 15:10Speaker 7: or there wasn't an awesome primetime game.
- 15:13Speaker 3: The NFL delivers on primetime, too. Yeah, you can look
- 15:16Speaker 3: at it.
- 15:16Speaker 9: 27-7.
- 15:16Speaker 7: It wasn't the greatest game. I had almost as much
- 15:20Speaker 7: fun watching that game. as most of the games this
- 15:23Speaker 7: season so far, just because I loved watching Case Keenum play.
- 15:30Speaker 7: I loved everything about that game because just an old,
- 15:34Speaker 7: wily guy that, yeah, maybe not the most talented guy,
- 15:39Speaker 7: but he operates an offense that I would have loved
- 15:43Speaker 7: to play in. And he operated it the way I
- 15:47Speaker 7: like to watch quarterbacks operate, which is, absolute complete control
- 15:53Speaker 7: before the snap.
- 15:54Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 15:55Speaker 7: An absolute perfect recognition, you know, for the most part,
- 15:57Speaker 7: it's a really good recognition post-snap. So it's recognizing what's
- 16:03Speaker 7: happening pre-snap and reacting to what happens post-snap. That's the
- 16:08Speaker 7: art of the quarterback. And he did it brilliantly. I mean,
- 16:13Speaker 7: I think they, they had some really funny quotes throughout
- 16:15Speaker 7: the broadcast last night saying like.
- 16:17Speaker 2: Hey, You know, I'm just like a coach player. I'm
- 16:19Speaker 2: probably more coach at this part in my career. I'm
- 16:21Speaker 2: more coach here. But now he gets this opportunity to play.
- 16:25Speaker 2: And he absolutely went out there and beat Philadelphia with
- 16:29Speaker 2: his mind. And now made some great throws. Don't get
- 16:32Speaker 2: me wrong. He has led a team to an NFC
- 16:35Speaker 2: championship game.
- 16:37Speaker 3: Which nobody expected. You know what I mean? He's got
- 16:40Speaker 3: skins on the wall, too. But nobody, you know. I
- 16:42Speaker 3: don't think he was a projected starter that season either. Well, no.
- 16:45Speaker 3: But he found his way in there. He found his
- 16:47Speaker 3: way in there.
- 16:48Speaker 7: I remember, I think the year before that, he got
- 16:51Speaker 7: picked up by the Texans, I believe. And I remember
- 16:54Speaker 7: they called him, like, mid-season. And he was like, yeah,
- 16:56Speaker 7: I got the calls on a deer stand. And I
- 16:58Speaker 7: went back, and he was playing, like, the next week
- 17:01Speaker 7: he was playing for the Texans.
- 17:02Speaker 3: I believe it was the Texans. I could be fact-checking that.
- 17:04Speaker 8: Well, dude, there were throws in that second quarter. I'm like,
- 17:07Speaker 8: Ben Johnson may have a good offense. I'm like, it
- 17:09Speaker 8: was a big, dumb throw. Yeah, he made some really
- 17:11Speaker 8: big time throws. Ben Johnson isn't an animal.
- 17:14Speaker 3: I get it.
- 17:15Speaker 2: They didn't score a lot last week. Well, Minnesota's defense is.
- 17:18Speaker 3: Minnesota's defense, and it was raining.
- 17:21Speaker 2: I don't know that it would have mattered if it
- 17:22Speaker 2: would have rained or not. Minnesota was bringing those blitzes.
- 17:25Speaker 2: They blitz more than anybody in the NFL. It's not
- 17:27Speaker 2: even close.
- 17:27Speaker 3: I think it's 73%.
- 17:29Speaker 2: Yeah, it's something crazy like that.
- 17:31Speaker 3: Who's the old head?
- 17:32Speaker 7: That's the defense coordinator for the Eagles. Oh, Big Fangio.
- 17:36Speaker 3: Yeah, he had him in a blender. Yeah, he did.
- 17:39Speaker 2: Last night.
- 17:40Speaker 7: Like, everything was working. Everything was over. Now, a couple
- 17:43Speaker 7: fourth downs that they did stop them.
- 17:45Speaker 3: Yeah. But he was in a blender.
- 17:48Speaker 2: Ben Johnson, you know, he loves a good, like, quick
- 17:51Speaker 2: little stab quote. He's like, yeah, I guess I can
- 17:53Speaker 2: do it without a number one drafted quarterback.
- 17:56Speaker 3: And I was like, wait a minute. Oh, Jared Goff,
- 17:58Speaker 3: Caleb Williams.
- 17:59Speaker 4: Mm-hmm.
- 18:00Speaker 3: So he enjoyed that moment, too. I mean, yeah.
- 18:03Speaker 7: And I just love the operation of everything was awesome
- 18:07Speaker 7: because– On the primetime games, you can hear everything because
- 18:10Speaker 7: they got so many microphones, so many cameras. And you
- 18:14Speaker 7: could just hear his operation at the line of scrimmage saying,
- 18:16Speaker 7: all right.
- 18:16Speaker 3: We're okay. We're good. We're good.
- 18:18Speaker 2: Are you annoying like me? And I know I'm annoying
- 18:21Speaker 2: and I wish I could help it. Like any code word,
- 18:23Speaker 2: I call the play out before.
- 18:25Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 18:25Speaker 3: Oh, yeah. I call it out. For sure.
- 18:27Speaker 2: And then they run it.
- 18:27Speaker 3: But then like with an old guy like that.
- 18:29Speaker 2: Like a guy hits a three-pointer, I just kind of
- 18:31Speaker 2: walk off and hold the three.
- 18:32Speaker 3: Uh-huh.
- 18:34Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 18:35Speaker 3: Tony Romo who? You know what I mean? Oh, well.
- 18:39Speaker 3: I'm right way more than he is. It was fun.
- 18:41Speaker 7: To watch his verbal operation throughout the game. And it's
- 18:46Speaker 7: like one of those great reasons why clap counts are dumb,
- 18:49Speaker 7: why you go under center a lot. Now, you do both,
- 18:52Speaker 7: but just talking about how we're good, let's change this,
- 18:55Speaker 7: let's do that.
- 18:56Speaker 3: And then at one point I saw this one play.
- 18:57Speaker 3: It was great. It was like he's yelling at the– he.
- 19:01Speaker 7: Looked like he spontaneously motioned the receiver over to the right.
- 19:06Speaker 3: And he was like– he's like 43 is a safety
- 19:09Speaker 3: 43 is a.
- 19:09Speaker 7: Safety looking like he was telling the receiver to go
- 19:13Speaker 7: dig him out, but it was hard play action, fake,
- 19:16Speaker 7: fake dig out. And then they, they ran a corner
- 19:18Speaker 7: behind them and ended up hitting a tight end underneath them.
- 19:21Speaker 7: But it was just like little things like that, that I,
- 19:24Speaker 7: I love. Um, and that's why he's, that's why he's there.
- 19:27Speaker 7: That's why he said he's like a coach slash player.
- 19:29Speaker 7: That's the, that's how I like to watch. That's what
- 19:31Speaker 7: I like to watch in football is those pre-snap operations.
- 19:36Speaker 3: Um, And then those post-snap reactions, man, it was really
- 19:39Speaker 3: fun to watch.
- 19:40Speaker 2: Yeah, I'm going to have to go back and see
- 19:41Speaker 2: if I can pick up some of those clips. I
- 19:43Speaker 2: was at the UI Catholic JV game, so I only
- 19:46Speaker 2: got to see the second half. So the first half
- 19:48Speaker 2: I didn't get a chance to see.
- 19:50Speaker 3: Any of that.
- 19:51Speaker 7: And it's amazing what you can do. And I'll have
- 19:53Speaker 7: some clips like that with Sam in this past weekend.
- 19:56Speaker 7: It's amazing what you can do. You don't have to
- 19:59Speaker 7: hold onto the ball very long. And if you understand
- 20:02Speaker 7: what's happening pre-snap, if you can get your guys in
- 20:04Speaker 7: the right position, you can stay on schedule. No, you
- 20:07Speaker 7: might not hit the big plays, but You know, Casey's
- 20:10Speaker 7: getting the ball out of Santa, picking up three yards
- 20:12Speaker 7: on a pass, picking up five yards on a pass,
- 20:14Speaker 7: picking up, you know, get it to the check down,
- 20:16Speaker 7: letting them shake, and maybe they get free for.
- 20:18Speaker 2: Four or five seconds. There was a three-yard throw in
- 20:20Speaker 2: the LSU game that Sam threw to Dylan Jones, and
- 20:25Speaker 2: it was, I think it was a first-down play.
- 20:27Speaker 3: The second quarter, I got his first clip today.
- 20:29Speaker 2: Okay. And I was like, and on the broadcast, I
- 20:32Speaker 2: was like, that's a good play.
- 20:33Speaker 3: It's a three-yard pass. That's a good play.
- 20:35Speaker 7: It's a three-yard pass completion, and it's my first clip
- 20:38Speaker 7: for either sky today.
- 20:39Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 20:40Speaker 2: I'm glad we're on the same– well, actually, I'm not
- 20:43Speaker 2: glad we're on the same wavelength.
- 20:45Speaker 3: Yeah, that's scary. I don't want to be on there
- 20:47Speaker 3: with you, but I said it.
- 20:49Speaker 2: I was like, that's a great play. It's second and seven.
- 20:52Speaker 2: You got a completion. You're on schedule. They were going south.
- 20:55Speaker 3: I was like, you're on schedule. You're good. Do you
- 21:00Speaker 3: want to make it second and five instead?
- 21:02Speaker 2: That'd be great.
- 21:03Speaker 3: But you're still– Where you need to be.
- 21:05Speaker 4: Yep.
- 21:06Speaker 2: And you can run the ball here and make it
- 21:07Speaker 2: third and four. And you're still on schedule. It was
- 21:10Speaker 2: a pure progression play. It was what I would call
- 21:14Speaker 2: like three jet, I'll go hinge, Z drive. That's pretty
- 21:17Speaker 2: much what it was.
- 21:18Speaker 7: And the defensive end widened and didn't rush. And the drive,
- 21:23Speaker 7: the shallow cross guy, he had to go underneath. And
- 21:26Speaker 7: he got like disrupted because they were dropping an end.
- 21:28Speaker 7: And they were bringing up a back. So he had
- 21:31Speaker 7: to like navigate through. The reads weren't there, and the
- 21:33Speaker 7: basic cross wasn't open. Had to hit a little swing rope.
- 21:36Speaker 3: Every play, at least it should, has a final outlet.
- 21:43Speaker 3: It's okay to hit that.
- 21:45Speaker 2: Unless it's man-to-man and nobody wins. Well, I can't help
- 21:49Speaker 2: you there. Can't play dead in a Western? I can't
- 21:52Speaker 2: help you. Can't play dead in a Western.
- 21:56Speaker 3: Exactly. What does that even mean? That guy couldn't play
- 22:00Speaker 3: dead in a Western. What do you mean? If you
- 22:02Speaker 3: can't beat me in coverage, you can't play.
- 22:04Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 22:05Speaker 3: Right? Kind of like screw up a rock fight? No,
- 22:07Speaker 3: I mean, I get what you're saying. Thank you. You're
- 22:09Speaker 3: so bad of an actor, you can't even play that.
- 22:11Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 22:11Speaker 3: You don't have to do anything. No, I like it. Yeah,
- 22:12Speaker 3: so if you can't beat me in coverage, you're not
- 22:14Speaker 3: a player. No, I like it. I've just never heard it.
- 22:17Speaker 3: It's a great sound. I'll say it tomorrow. I'm going
- 22:20Speaker 3: to play it off as it's mine. You got to
- 22:23Speaker 3: slight your sores one time. One time, then after that,
- 22:25Speaker 3: it's yours. Okay, that's fair.
- 22:28Speaker 2: All right, we'll take a break. We'll get into kind
- 22:30Speaker 2: of LSU injuries. I know we talked about them yesterday,
- 22:33Speaker 2: where they're at, what it looks like moving forward after
- 22:36Speaker 2: Lane's press conference yesterday. Kind of also, you know, no
- 22:41Speaker 2: disrespect to the opponent, but it's going to be more
- 22:42Speaker 2: of a review than a preview type of week here.
- 22:45Speaker 2: So we'll do all of that when we come back
- 22:47Speaker 2: here on OTB.
- 22:50Speaker 3: Off the bench. All right, go to TrashRangers.com. TrashRangers.com.

- 23:15Speaker 2: kind of tell them what your project is. Because they're
- 23:18Speaker 2: going to be able to tell you. But even if
- 23:19Speaker 2: you undersell your project and you've got way more, they'll come,
- 23:23Speaker 2: they'll empty it, they'll bring it back. Just another incredible
- 23:25Speaker 2: service that they have over at TrashRangers.com.

- 25:05Speaker 2: come eat the breakfast bar.
- 25:07Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 25:08Speaker 2: If you get there at the end of the show,
- 25:10Speaker 2: sushi bar, salad bar, lunch bar is almost out. Tailgating packages.
- 25:15Speaker 2: If you're going to the game this weekend, they got you.
- 25:19Speaker 2: Just actually walk in, pick it up, walk out. After
- 25:21Speaker 2: you pay, it's already ready for you. Pretty easy.
- 25:24Speaker 3: Go to Rouses.com. Find a location that's near you. Rouses.com.
- 25:27Speaker 3: Or you can just go grocery shopping. You could do that.
- 25:30Speaker 3: You could just do that, too. You could. And if
- 25:34Speaker 3: my high finds its way into your cart, whoops. Whoopsie daisies.
- 25:38Speaker 3: You're going to feel great.
- 25:39Speaker 2: Hydrated, at least, for the game. You know, hot out there.
- 25:42Speaker 2: You know it's supposed to be bad weather.
- 25:44Speaker 3: No doubt. No doubt, no doubt, no doubt.
- 25:47Speaker 7: Hey, there was one thing from the game last night
- 25:48Speaker 7: that we failed to mention in the recap. You know
- 25:52Speaker 7: I'm a big Caleb Williams fan, right? You've heard?
- 25:55Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 25:56Speaker 2: I think you've won the room over with Caleb Williams
- 25:59Speaker 2: outside of Taylor.
- 26:00Speaker 7: He did something else I did not like. Did not
- 26:03Speaker 7: like at all. There was a fabulous rendition, I thought.
- 26:06Speaker 7: I thought of the National Anthem.
- 26:08Speaker 4: Okay.
- 26:09Speaker 3: It was a mariachi band.
- 26:10Speaker 7: I think they were celebrating, does anybody know? It was
- 26:14Speaker 7: like Latino Day or something like that. I can't remember
- 26:16Speaker 7: what it was. I don't know what it was.
- 26:18Speaker 3: That's probably it.
- 26:19Speaker 6: No, I'm not joking. I think it's Hispanic Heritage Month.
- 26:21Speaker 2: It was.
- 26:22Speaker 6: And, like, Mexican Independence Day.
- 26:23Speaker 3: Was, like, last week or something. And it was awesome.
- 26:26Speaker 7: It was a very big mariachi band that played the
- 26:29Speaker 7: national anthem.
- 26:29Speaker 3: It was awesome.
- 26:30Speaker 6: I missed that.
- 26:31Speaker 3: Did you really?
- 26:31Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 26:31Speaker 3: We got to play it.
- 26:32Speaker 6: I bet it was cool, though.
- 26:33Speaker 3: It was really cool.
- 26:34Speaker 6: Yeah, I love a mariachi band.
- 26:35Speaker 3: And everybody was sitting there, and everybody was like, this
- 26:37Speaker 3: is awesome. Yeah.
- 26:38Speaker 6: He made a face.
- 26:39Speaker 3: He was walking around with sunglasses on.
- 26:41Speaker 6: I don't like that. Even, like, normally in a normal.
- 26:46Speaker 9: National Anthem, you shouldn't.
- 26:48Speaker 2: First of all, don't walk. Second of all, take your
- 26:52Speaker 2: damn sunglasses off.
- 26:53Speaker 6: Was his hood on?
- 26:54Speaker 3: No, it wasn't on. I don't think it was. He
- 26:55Speaker 3: had it on a few times. He did have it on,
- 26:57Speaker 3: which is fine. During the National Anthem. His knees were
- 27:00Speaker 3: cracking me up.
- 27:02Speaker 7: Anyway, I really enjoyed the rendition of the National Anthem.
- 27:07Speaker 6: It sounds cool.
- 27:08Speaker 3: It was very cool. Caleb did not.
- 27:13Speaker 2: Anyway, that's the part you're adding to the recap.
- 27:16Speaker 3: Yeah, that was the recap.
- 27:17Speaker 2: The national anthem. Okay.
- 27:19Speaker 3: Different things stand out to different people, Matt.
- 27:21Speaker 7: It stuck out, but then it really stuck out when
- 27:24Speaker 7: Caleb Williams, the guy that I'm out here.
- 27:26Speaker 6: Fighting for, puts.
- 27:29Speaker 7: His sunglasses on. I know you are, and I appreciate that.
- 27:34Speaker 7: It's not that hard of a fight when he plays well.
- 27:36Speaker 3: He's fun to watch, yeah.
- 27:37Speaker 2: You won me over.
- 27:38Speaker 3: When he puts his sunglasses on and walks around doing
- 27:40Speaker 3: the national anthem, I don't really like it.
- 27:41Speaker 6: No, I don't like that either.
- 27:42Speaker 3: Have some respect. Did we get... Nail color update.
- 27:47Speaker 2: Last night.
- 27:47Speaker 3: I didn't see it.
- 27:48Speaker 6: I don't think he's painting his nails anymore.
- 27:49Speaker 3: Is he not?
- 27:50Speaker 6: I haven't seen it.
- 27:51Speaker 3: I haven't seen it.
- 27:53Speaker 6: If he did, I got to be honest, I kind
- 27:55Speaker 6: of don't care.
- 27:56Speaker 2: He's got a nice mustache.
- 27:58Speaker 6: I do like the mustache.
- 28:00Speaker 7: Huck's fantasy football team name is Caleb's Nail Salon.
- 28:05Speaker 6: I like that.
- 28:05Speaker 3: Great name. That's a good one.
- 28:07Speaker 2: It's not Ted Flick's and Chill.
- 28:14Speaker 3: It's not. It's not. It's pretty good, though.
- 28:18Speaker 2: It's good.
- 28:20Speaker 3: He made a little graphic.
- 28:22Speaker 6: For his picture?
- 28:23Speaker 2: George Paul did.
- 28:25Speaker 3: George Paul Thomas.
- 28:30Speaker 6: That kid's going to be an influencer one day.
- 28:32Speaker 2: Absolutely.
- 28:33Speaker 3: It's his dream.
- 28:36Speaker 6: He can do it.
- 28:38Speaker 3: Sounds like you have two kids that want to be influencers.
- 28:41Speaker 3: I think they all do. I think that's all kids
- 28:43Speaker 3: want to be.
- 28:43Speaker 9: Wait, have you told her how many subscribers I and
- 28:46Speaker 9: Sky have?
- 28:47Speaker 3: We hadn't. I mean, she didn't really care unless we
- 28:49Speaker 3: get that play button. Right. What does that mean? It's
- 28:52Speaker 3: like you get a million or 500,000 something.
- 28:54Speaker 7: You get like a certain amount of views or subscribers.
- 28:57Speaker 3: They send you like a plaque.
- 28:59Speaker 2: That's the logo.
- 29:00Speaker 3: The YouTube logo, the play button.
- 29:03Speaker 6: How do you get a YouTube logo?
- 29:04Speaker 3: So like all those. Dumb YouTubers that they watch.
- 29:07Speaker 2: They all have a background.
- 29:08Speaker 3: Here's my diamond plated.
- 29:10Speaker 6: Gold crystal play button.
- 29:10Speaker 3: We have to get 100,000 subscribers. That was way off. Yeah,
- 29:14Speaker 3: we got that.
- 29:14Speaker 6: Well, that's the silver one.
- 29:16Speaker 9: The silver play button, 100,000 subscribers. The gold, we need
- 29:19Speaker 9: a million subscribers. Everybody go subscribe to Eye in the
- 29:22Speaker 9: Sky right now.
- 29:23Speaker 3: We got almost like 3,000.
- 29:23Speaker 2: I need to impress my daughter.
- 29:25Speaker 1: 997,000 more.
- 29:30Speaker 8: She was in here the other day and she's like,
- 29:31Speaker 8: how many subscribers do y'all have? I was like, I'm
- 29:33Speaker 8: going to make up a massive number because I don't know.
- 29:35Speaker 8: I said 28 million. She goes, um, no, because do
- 29:38Speaker 8: you know how many play buttons.
- 29:39Speaker 3: You would have?
- 29:40Speaker 9: Have?
- 29:40Speaker 3: And I don't. I'm sorry. I don't think so, Mr. Taylor.
- 29:46Speaker 3: You're wrong. I don't see this. Where's your play button?
- 29:49Speaker 2: Dad, who is this guy?
- 29:50Speaker 3: What's this guy's deal, Dad?
- 29:53Speaker 6: Ruin possibly the entire show.
- 29:56Speaker 3: I didn't know what to say. I was like, I
- 29:59Speaker 3: guess you're right. I don't know how many I would have.
- 30:01Speaker 3: No way I'm sharing my snacks with you.
- 30:05Speaker 2: She's not doing that anyways. I'm over there fighting for
- 30:07Speaker 2: my life in their house, sweating out of places I
- 30:10Speaker 2: didn't know sweat could come from.
- 30:12Speaker 3: I'm going to need you to put those graham crackers back.
- 30:15Speaker 2: Those are my snacks.
- 30:15Speaker 3: What are you eating my snacks for, sir?
- 30:18Speaker 2: If I don't eat this graham cracker, I might faint.
- 30:21Speaker 3: That sounds like a personal problem.
- 30:23Speaker 6: Sounds like you should have eaten before.
- 30:25Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 30:26Speaker 2: Well, you know you can't move furniture in the heat
- 30:28Speaker 2: on a full tummy. That's a bad situation. It's not
- 30:32Speaker 2: going to end well for anybody. It's true.
- 30:36Speaker 3: Anyways. Anyway, we need to pull up that national anthem.
- 30:40Speaker 2: Are you not going to be able to think about
- 30:42Speaker 2: anything else before that happens? I just need to know.
- 30:45Speaker 3: No, no, we can go on. I'm really good at
- 30:49Speaker 3: just focusing on individual things at a time.
- 30:53Speaker 6: I'm going to need you to start doing that earlier
- 30:55Speaker 6: in the day.
- 30:56Speaker 2: What?
- 30:57Speaker 6: You know, how you, by hour two, you're feeling focused.
- 31:00Speaker 3: Oh, yeah, yeah. Wonderful. We need you to medicate earlier.
- 31:02Speaker 2: I'm just going to say it.
- 31:05Speaker 3: I have a disease.
- 31:06Speaker 2: Yeah, we know, and you have medication for it. And
- 31:10Speaker 2: you typically bust it out around now. And it hits
- 31:14Speaker 2: by 8 o'clock.
- 31:17Speaker 6: Oh, wait, no, no.
- 31:19Speaker 2: Never mind.
- 31:20Speaker 4: What?
- 31:21Speaker 9: Because I need you to be focused for Eye in
- 31:22Speaker 9: the Sky. All right.
- 31:23Speaker 6: So never mind. Someone just described to Eye in the
- 31:27Speaker 6: Sky we're closer to $ 100, 000. Not a big deal.
- 31:32Speaker 3: Almost one milli. Look out, twos. It's coming. Play button.
- 31:36Speaker 3: You're right.
- 31:37Speaker 2: We should probably shoot for the $ 100, 000 before we go
- 31:39Speaker 2: to the million.
- 31:40Speaker 3: You're right. You're right. I think a silver play button
- 31:42Speaker 3: is just fine. It'll impress.
- 31:45Speaker 2: It would look good.
- 31:46Speaker 3: It would impress.
- 31:46Speaker 2: Now, you'd probably have to take it home. You'd have
- 31:49Speaker 2: to rent it out and impress your children probably.
- 31:51Speaker 3: For sure.
- 31:52Speaker 2: Yeah. Anyways.
- 31:57Speaker 6: I can't get over your mouth breathing earlier.
- 32:01Speaker 3: What? Did I do something? It was heavy, too. Did
- 32:03Speaker 3: I do something? It was heavy.
- 32:05Speaker 6: Jake's just like, anyways, let's get a break.
- 32:07Speaker 3: Tell me about the star position. Speaking of Darth Vader.
- 32:15Speaker 3: A lot of Darth Vader fans.
- 32:20Speaker 2: I cannot.
- 32:21Speaker 9: Oh, look, Tay-Tay found the national anthem.
- 32:25Speaker 2: All right, can we just go to LSU? But if
- 32:28Speaker 2: we don't play it, Squirrel Seer over here won't be
- 32:31Speaker 2: able to move on.
- 32:32Speaker 4: Okay.
- 32:32Speaker 2: Ooh.
- 32:32Speaker 4: Ooh.
- 33:07Speaker 5: Oh, no.
- 33:22Speaker 6: All right.
- 33:30Speaker 4: No.
- 33:30Speaker 3: That's not good luck. That was a bad luck by Caleb.
- 33:33Speaker 2: Bad luck.
- 33:34Speaker 3: The Indian was the best part.
- 33:35Speaker 2: For those listening on the radio, everybody's, I think, enjoying it.
- 33:38Speaker 2: Good scenes. Hat hair everywhere because, you know, you got
- 33:42Speaker 2: a helmet or a hat on, you take it off.
- 33:43Speaker 6: Ben Johnson's so good looking.
- 33:45Speaker 8: Also, here you go in the top corner, Matt. Hispanic
- 33:48Speaker 8: and Latin Heritage Month. It says there's a little ESPN thing.
- 33:51Speaker 2: There we go.
- 33:52Speaker 3: I know. I just told you that. Last year night
- 33:53Speaker 3: was close.
- 33:56Speaker 2: You did not say that.
- 33:57Speaker 3: I mean. Is there something wrong with one of those?
- 34:01Speaker 2: No, no, no.
- 34:01Speaker 3: I don't think there is.
- 34:02Speaker 6: I don't think so, but it is funny.
- 34:05Speaker 3: Can we play the end of that song? It's more
- 34:07Speaker 3: because you said, no, we're moving on.
- 34:08Speaker 2: The end of that song.
- 34:09Speaker 4: Why?
- 34:09Speaker 3: It's the national anthem.
- 34:10Speaker 2: We're not going to play the whole national anthem. Why?
- 34:13Speaker 3: On the show. We're starting our day. The whole video
- 34:16Speaker 3: is a minute and 45 seconds. Whoa, yeah.
- 34:19Speaker 2: Look, we can start doing the show with the Pledge
- 34:20Speaker 2: of Allegiance if you want to.
- 34:22Speaker 6: Like in school?
- 34:22Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 34:24Speaker 3: I mean, there was an exceptional and a different version.
- 34:28Speaker 6: We'll watch it in the break.
- 34:30Speaker 7: I feel like people are enjoying that. People are starting
- 34:32Speaker 7: their day very patriotic. Like, not Caleb. That was a
- 34:36Speaker 7: bad look.
- 34:36Speaker 3: That was a bad look. Now, if you'd had, like,
- 34:38Speaker 3: a concussion and you're standing still in the glasses, okay.
- 34:42Speaker 3: Stand still, for one.
- 34:43Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 34:44Speaker 7: For all you kids out there.
- 34:46Speaker 6: You're supposed to not do anything when the National Anthem's on.
- 34:48Speaker 3: Stand up. Be still.
- 34:51Speaker 2: On the broadcast, like, we fall into the National Anthem
- 34:54Speaker 2: playing as we're on air a lot of times because
- 34:55Speaker 2: we don't have.
- 34:56Speaker 3: As much time. You stop. You stand up. Yep. You
- 34:58Speaker 3: do the same thing.
- 34:59Speaker 2: Gordy and I will be talking about, you know, recipe
- 35:01Speaker 2: for success. And wherever we're at, we say, let's pause
- 35:04Speaker 2: for the national anthem.
- 35:05Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 35:05Speaker 2: Headset off. We let the national anthem play through the broadcast.
- 35:09Speaker 2: And when it's done, we pick back up.
- 35:10Speaker 3: And keep talking. We stand up in my house when
- 35:14Speaker 3: we watch a game.
- 35:16Speaker 4: We do.
- 35:17Speaker 2: A lot of times. Certainly if it's like the national team,
- 35:21Speaker 2: you know, stars and stripes out there for the country.
- 35:27Speaker 2: I've done a lot of military events through my high.
- 35:30Speaker 2: Doing like all over the country.
- 35:32Speaker 7: Going through a bunch of stuff with the National Guard.
- 35:35Speaker 3: A lot of different events.
- 35:37Speaker 7: And the National Anthem is always my favorite part because
- 35:40Speaker 7: it's just a bunch of people that are very focused
- 35:42Speaker 7: and loyal. And not a, feels like not a hair
- 35:47Speaker 7: is moving on anybody's head.
- 35:48Speaker 9: Yeah.
- 35:48Speaker 3: And I love it.
- 35:49Speaker 6: The only time everybody's normal. The only time everybody in
- 35:52Speaker 6: a room is normal. Except for Kayla Williams, I guess.
- 35:55Speaker 3: My God. We need to stop criticizing him. He was
- 35:57Speaker 3: almost out for the year.
- 36:01Speaker 9: I want Taylor to pull his hamstring and we need
- 36:03Speaker 9: to see how he reacts.
- 36:05Speaker 3: Guys, it's okay if you get injured and get hurt,
- 36:08Speaker 3: but to get on the cart and cover... Who else
- 36:11Speaker 3: has done that over a hamstring injury? Find me somebody.
- 36:13Speaker 3: Who else has done it? I wasn't really fast enough,
- 36:15Speaker 3: nor was he to pull our hamstring. Pulled my hamstring
- 36:19Speaker 3: one time.
- 36:21Speaker 2: Tweaked it a little bit.
- 36:23Speaker 3: Just a little tweak. Mine got me cut from New England. Yeah.
- 36:29Speaker 3: I was actually really happy.
- 36:30Speaker 2: That was the reason. Did you get a settlement?
- 36:35Speaker 3: No, it was during training camp. First time.
- 36:39Speaker 2: If you got cut because of an injury, you would
- 36:42Speaker 2: have gotten money for that. I know it. You know it.
- 36:45Speaker 7: So you got cut. Are you talking about termination pay?
- 36:49Speaker 3: Yeah. I already double dipped. Yeah. You only get to
- 36:54Speaker 3: use it once. All right. I forgot you were a
- 36:57Speaker 3: con man. That's why the guy didn't want to meet
- 36:58Speaker 3: up with you. Relax. Use the rules that we're at.
- 37:02Speaker 3: Why the guy didn't want to meet up. All right.
- 37:05Speaker 3: We'll take a break. When we come back, since Matt's
- 37:07Speaker 3: now seen the mariachi band.
- 37:09Speaker 2: We'll tell you about the LSU injuries, when they're coming back,
- 37:12Speaker 2: what it means, and their schedule coming up. And we'll
- 37:14Speaker 2: do it right here on OTB.
- 37:16Speaker 1: Off the bench.
- 37:17Speaker 2: Or go to RussellPools.com, the website for Russell Poole Company.
- 37:21Speaker 2: When you work with Russell Poole, remember they've been doing
- 37:23Speaker 2: it since the 1960s here in South Louisiana.
- 37:27Speaker 3: So why do we say that?
- 37:28Speaker 2: Well, one, obviously you don't stay in business that long
- 37:30Speaker 2: unless you're doing things the right way, but we have
- 37:32Speaker 2: harsh conditions here in South Louisiana. And if you don't
- 37:35Speaker 2: know what you're doing, your pool is not going to last,
- 37:37Speaker 2: but with Russell pools doing it since the 1960s, it's
- 37:40Speaker 2: going to stand tall for the rest of time. So,
- 37:44Speaker 2: Work with Russell Pools. Have them design your custom pool.
- 37:46Speaker 2: Go to russellpools.com.
- 37:47Speaker 7: They are the best in the business. They are the
- 37:50Speaker 7: most creative. They are the best at their job. They
- 37:53Speaker 7: have two landscape architects right on staff over there. I
- 37:55Speaker 7: had a meeting with them last week, had multiple meetings,
- 37:58Speaker 7: getting ready for that project. And it's going to be
- 38:01Speaker 7: absolutely awesome to work with them. And it already has been. Like,
- 38:05Speaker 7: they are so creative. Like, we've told them, Lacey and
- 38:07Speaker 7: I have told them, like, a few things that we like,
- 38:09Speaker 7: a lot of things that we dislike. Man, they've drawn
- 38:10Speaker 7: up such a great plan. They can design it. They
- 38:13Speaker 7: can build it. They can maintain it. They are the
- 38:15Speaker 7: best when you think of quality custom pools here in Louisiana.
- 38:18Speaker 3: Go to RussellPools.com.
- 38:39Speaker 1: Off the Bench with Jacob Hester. And Matt Flynn, presented
- 38:43Speaker 1: by Community Steel.
- 38:46Speaker 2: See the stone set in your eyes. See the thorn
- 38:52Speaker 2: twist in your side.
- 38:55Speaker 3: I'll wait for you. All right, welcome back in.
- 39:06Speaker 2: OTB here live from the Raising Cane's studio. I talked
- 39:11Speaker 2: about injuries yesterday, but just kind of to give a
- 39:15Speaker 2: quick recap and maybe a timeline. Seven people, I think,
- 39:20Speaker 2: asked Lane Kiffin yesterday about what weeks and when he
- 39:23Speaker 2: was going to come back, and he said the same thing.
- 39:25Speaker 2: Every time, you know, you don't know right now, like
- 39:28Speaker 2: anytime you have a procedure, you really don't like you
- 39:31Speaker 2: have it. You know, I've seen four to six weeks
- 39:33Speaker 2: out there. That seems overly aggressive for me. It just,
- 39:37Speaker 2: I would push it six to eight. We said that yesterday.
- 39:39Speaker 2: And even that feels like maybe now let's say that
- 39:45Speaker 2: it is.
- 39:48Speaker 3: Eight weeks. That would put you back around Tennessee games.
- 39:52Speaker 2: So Tennessee, Arkansas, if you make the SEC championship game,
- 39:56Speaker 2: if you make the college football playoff, around that time
- 40:00Speaker 2: for Witt Weeks, if everything goes right. And that's a
- 40:03Speaker 2: big if. Anytime you're going in for a procedure, you've
- 40:07Speaker 2: had something similar around the same area.
- 40:10Speaker 3: So that's with Witt. But Jake, down in front. Yes.
- 40:15Speaker 7: When do you think Witt's going to play?
- 40:17Speaker 3: When do you think Witt Weeks is going to be available?
- 40:23Speaker 2: When Doc, who comes here every week, says he's good
- 40:28Speaker 2: to go. Also, if you're the Weeks family, you have
- 40:33Speaker 2: to take a lot of things into account. You've had
- 40:37Speaker 2: an injury there before, so there's a lot that plays
- 40:41Speaker 2: into that.
- 40:42Speaker 3: I would say this just real quick.
- 40:43Speaker 7: I know you're about to move on to the next injury,
- 40:45Speaker 7: but real quick, for Whit Weeks, as a Whit Weeks fan,
- 40:50Speaker 7: I want him to make sure he's 100% healthy and
- 40:55Speaker 7: 100% ready to go.
- 40:56Speaker 3: I do not.
- 40:56Speaker 7: I want to see him have a long career. I
- 41:02Speaker 7: don't want him to go out on a shield like
- 41:05Speaker 7: here at LSU. I want him to go and have
- 41:08Speaker 7: the best opportunity to have a long career at the
- 41:11Speaker 7: next level as well.
- 41:12Speaker 3: Now I know it.
- 41:14Speaker 7: If he is feeling 70%, he's going to say he's
- 41:17Speaker 7: ready to go.
- 41:18Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 41:18Speaker 3: And I get that. And that's why we love him.
- 41:21Speaker 9: Right.
- 41:21Speaker 7: That's why he is a tiger through and through. That's
- 41:24Speaker 7: why we want him. Like that's, that's why he is
- 41:26Speaker 7: who he is.
- 41:26Speaker 3: Right.
- 41:28Speaker 7: But as a fan of him, I want him to
- 41:30Speaker 7: be absolutely 100% sure because I, he has taken a
- 41:34Speaker 7: lot of battle wounds and about a lot of battle scars.
- 41:36Speaker 7: And I don't want him to, like I said, be
- 41:39Speaker 7: carried off on a shield here in an LSU uniform.
- 41:42Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 41:42Speaker 2: And, but again, with you saying, you know how he is,
- 41:46Speaker 2: he's going to go out there. If anybody tells him
- 41:48Speaker 2: he can, which that's what I love about wood weeks.
- 41:51Speaker 2: And so we'll see where he's at. I think at
- 41:54Speaker 2: the absolute earliest, we're talking like Texas, Tennessee, Arkansas, like
- 41:58Speaker 2: around that time. And again, that's if everything goes as
- 42:01Speaker 2: planned and we'll get an update. I'm sure on that
- 42:03Speaker 2: here pretty soon for trade as green. I think they're
- 42:06Speaker 2: targeting the Alabama game. Well, why would they target that game? Well,
- 42:10Speaker 2: if you look at it, that would be six weeks
- 42:12Speaker 2: for him, and it would be after a bye week.
- 42:16Speaker 2: So he would probably start to ramp up, I would say,
- 42:20Speaker 2: the Auburn week, probably start to practice, and he's going
- 42:23Speaker 2: to have a bye week where he's going to practice
- 42:25Speaker 2: and then go out there for the Alabama game.
- 42:28Speaker 3: That's about what I thought it was going to be.
- 42:31Speaker 2: A MCL sprain, like even if it's like, you know,
- 42:37Speaker 2: the lowest kind of grade situation, you're still going to
- 42:39Speaker 2: miss two weeks. So I was thinking with him, four weeks,
- 42:43Speaker 2: maybe five, but with the bye week being there, it's
- 42:48Speaker 2: an extra precaution probably to go ahead and not play
- 42:51Speaker 2: in the Auburn game, knowing that you can get two
- 42:53Speaker 2: more weeks before the Alabama game.
- 42:56Speaker 7: Yeah, I mean, if you can, if you know, if
- 43:00Speaker 7: you can rest him and come back for the Alabama game,
- 43:04Speaker 7: that starts a pretty good gauntlet of games right there
- 43:06Speaker 7: that that you'd really like to have him for everything, right?
- 43:10Speaker 7: I know going to Auburn, that is kind of the start.
- 43:14Speaker 7: It's the start of a big gauntlet as well.
- 43:17Speaker 2: Yeah, I don't even think it's being disrespectful to the
- 43:20Speaker 2: Auburn game. I think it's more of the bye week
- 43:22Speaker 2: being after that game and seeing an opportunity to get
- 43:25Speaker 2: another week. Now, look, if he progresses and he's ahead
- 43:29Speaker 2: of schedule, then they'll probably reconvene and they'll talk about it.
- 43:31Speaker 2: But that's what they're shooting for right now is the
- 43:33Speaker 2: Alabama game. And I think you have to, if you're
- 43:36Speaker 2: like a coaching staff, if you're, you know, around the program,
- 43:40Speaker 2: I like putting a target date on it because you
- 43:42Speaker 2: kind of know where you need to be as far
- 43:45Speaker 2: as like an offense and game planning, because there was
- 43:47Speaker 2: a lot of formations this week that weren't traded as
- 43:51Speaker 2: green formations. They were sad grace formations, which you have
- 43:54Speaker 2: to do. Like you're not going to have him for
- 43:56Speaker 2: a while. So you kind of know what the offense
- 43:58Speaker 2: has to be for this extended period of time, because
- 44:01Speaker 2: it's not going to look like, you know, look, ball
- 44:04Speaker 2: plays or ball plays. We get that. I'm just saying
- 44:06Speaker 2: like the formations, the way you get to things are
- 44:08Speaker 2: going to be different with different tight ends.
- 44:10Speaker 3: Yeah, certainly.
- 44:11Speaker 7: I mean, you're going to build a game plan around
- 44:13Speaker 7: your strengths and, you know, try to avoid your weaknesses
- 44:16Speaker 7: at all costs. And so, you know, things that Trey does,
- 44:19Speaker 7: like you can't expect anybody to just fill those shoes.
- 44:22Speaker 4: Right.
- 44:22Speaker 7: So you're going to have a different game plan. And
- 44:25Speaker 7: if Sam plays like he did this past weekend, you know,
- 44:28Speaker 7: as he gets healthier and healthier and healthier.
- 44:30Speaker 3: Uh, hopefully, you know, knock on wood.
- 44:33Speaker 7: Um, then he can operate in multiple different types of offenses,
- 44:40Speaker 7: different types of systems, different types of reads, because the
- 44:42Speaker 7: reads stay the same. It doesn't matter where people line
- 44:46Speaker 7: up or who's lining up. The reads as your quarterback
- 44:49Speaker 7: stay the same. There is hardly ever a time where
- 44:51Speaker 7: it's like, boom, as soon as I get the ball,
- 44:54Speaker 7: I'm looking straight to Trey Dez because he's.
- 44:56Speaker 2: My best playmaker. Well, guys play well because they operate
- 45:00Speaker 2: in the system. They get open.
- 45:01Speaker 7: And when quarterback gets to them and their progression, they're there,
- 45:05Speaker 7: they're open, they're in the right place, right time, and
- 45:07Speaker 7: they make a play on the ball. So the reads
- 45:10Speaker 7: are going to stay the same. There's only so many
- 45:11Speaker 7: plays you can draw up. How you get to those
- 45:13Speaker 7: plays is the difference and what the coaches have to
- 45:17Speaker 7: do and the window dress in and different personnel groupings
- 45:20Speaker 7: that you have to do as a coach. But for Sam,
- 45:22Speaker 7: just play like you did. Improve on what you did
- 45:25Speaker 7: this past week as you go. Hopefully you're not playing
- 45:26Speaker 7: this week. And you get rest and get the hamstring
- 45:29Speaker 7: ready to roll. But when you are healthy, continue to
- 45:32Speaker 7: play that way. And once Trey Dez gets thrown back
- 45:35Speaker 7: into the lineup, it's going to help him even more.
- 45:39Speaker 3: Could be dangerous. All right, we will take a break.
- 45:43Speaker 2: And maybe in hour number two, we can give you
- 45:44Speaker 2: kind of a preview of what you can expect in
- 45:47Speaker 2: this week's Eye in the Sky.
- 45:48Speaker 3: And we do it right here on OTB. Off the bench.
- 45:52Speaker 2: All right, go to gotommies.com, G-E-A-U-X, Tommies with a Y.com.
- 45:57Speaker 2: Go Tommies!

- 46:39Speaker 7: got some old doors that need changed because, well, we
