Latest / DUH It Down / Open Mic Night: Waffle House, Pirates & When Animals Attack
Transcript
- 0:20SPEAKER_00: Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to Open Mic Night at Club Duff.
- 0:24SPEAKER_00: Tonight there's no topic, no script, and absolutely no adult supervision.
- 0:29SPEAKER_00: Todd watches Animals Attack, Lummox makes the mistake of returning to Waffle House, Vale has pirate questions, easy pass strikes again, and somehow even a trip to the pharmacy goes off the rails.
- 0:41SPEAKER_00: So grab a beer, lower your expectations, and get ready for bad stories, worse decisions, and absolutely nothing educational.
- 0:50SPEAKER_00: Well, maybe there is one thing.
- 0:52SPEAKER_00: It's open mic night on the Duh It Down Podcast.
- 0:55SPEAKER_01: Welcome back, Duh Nation.
- 0:57SPEAKER_01: Another Duh It Down podcast coming to you this evening.
- 1:00SPEAKER_01: For anybody new listening to us, I'm the Lumics.
- 1:03SPEAKER_01: I am joined by my cohorts.
- 1:06SPEAKER_01: I've got the original Duh, Todd himself, and I've got Vale with me here.
- 1:11SPEAKER_01: Gentlemen, how are we doing?
- 1:13SPEAKER_02: Hello.
- 1:14SPEAKER_02: Fantastic.
- 1:15SPEAKER_02: Leggett.
- 1:17SPEAKER_01: Uh tonight we are doing open mic night, which means anything goes.
- 1:22SPEAKER_01: No idea what's going to happen with these.
- 1:24SPEAKER_01: Those that have been around and listened to these, you know, sometimes they can go down several different rabbit holes.
- 1:29SPEAKER_01: For those that are new to the show, we just kind of talk about whatever's going on, anything off top of the mind, anything silly, anything we need to get off our chest.
- 1:38SPEAKER_01: Before we get into anything, I have to drink the beverage for tonight.
- 1:43SPEAKER_01: And since I will be making a trip to Germany for Oktoberfest soon, I have a can of shotgun Betty Hefferweissen ale.
- 1:56SPEAKER_01: I've never had this before.
- 1:58SPEAKER_01: It clocks in at 5.8% alcohol, Todd.
- 2:02SPEAKER_01: You're gonna like that.
- 2:04SPEAKER_01: And it's from the Lone Rider Brewing Company of Columbia, South Carolina.
- 2:09SPEAKER_04: Whoa, South Carolina beer.
- 2:11SPEAKER_01: We'll give this a crack here.
- 2:13SPEAKER_01: It did not explode all over me like Todd's did before.
- 2:17SPEAKER_01: Give this a swig.
- 2:18SPEAKER_01: You can taste a shotgun.
- 2:23SPEAKER_04: Tastes like bullets.
- 2:25SPEAKER_01: Tastes like bullets.
- 2:28SPEAKER_01: Pretty good.
- 2:30SPEAKER_01: We'll drink this throughout the show here.
- 2:31SPEAKER_01: Todd, you probably would like this.
- 2:34SPEAKER_01: It's an ale for an outlaw.
- 2:36SPEAKER_01: So I think you qualify.
- 2:38SPEAKER_02: Yeah, he qualifies for that.
- 2:40SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 2:41SPEAKER_04: Yes.
- 2:42SPEAKER_04: Shotgun.
- 2:44SPEAKER_01: Shotgun Betty.
- 2:45SPEAKER_01: Lone Rider.
- 2:47SPEAKER_01: Alright, so tonight is open mic night.
- 2:51SPEAKER_01: As if you've been listening to our episode, you know we just had our fantasy football draft.
- 2:56SPEAKER_01: So figure we would give everybody a quick update on how we're doing that, even though Vale doesn't want to discuss that because his team is likely going to get beat in week one.
- 3:07SPEAKER_01: Week one, we've got Team Doug going against the Highlights.
- 3:12SPEAKER_01: And the Highlights have already tapped out at 191 points.
- 3:16SPEAKER_01: Team Doug's got 178, but still has two players left.
- 3:21SPEAKER_01: We're looking at CD Lamb and the Broncos defense.
- 3:24SPEAKER_01: So Vale, this one is not looking good for you.
- 3:27SPEAKER_02: Not looking good at all.
- 3:29SPEAKER_02: And then unless uh C D Lamb has a uh Jamar Chase night, then I got a shot.
- 3:34SPEAKER_01: And we're gonna get to that because in my game against intern Wolverine, although I only got a whopping three points out of Jamar Chase when the Bengals put up 33 points.
- 3:45SPEAKER_01: Not sure how that happened.
- 3:46SPEAKER_01: I am still beating him and projected to win.
- 3:49SPEAKER_01: So it looks like intern Wolverines will be one step closer to those penalty scallops.
- 3:55SPEAKER_04: Well, it's a ways away, Wolverine.
- 3:57SPEAKER_04: He's got time.
- 3:58SPEAKER_04: He's got time.
- 4:00SPEAKER_01: Got time to rebound?
- 4:01SPEAKER_04: Mm-hmm.
- 4:03SPEAKER_01: So that's how it's looking this week.
- 4:05SPEAKER_01: So next week, Todd, it's probably me versus you, I think.
- 4:10SPEAKER_01: Let's see what's going on next week.
- 4:12SPEAKER_02: I get to go up against the intern Wolverine.
- 4:15SPEAKER_01: Yep, it's it's me versus the duh, and we got the highlights against intern Wolverine.
- 4:21SPEAKER_01: So stay tuned.
- 4:22SPEAKER_01: Stay tuned for what's going on there.
- 4:25SPEAKER_01: We're also we were in a suicide pool, one of those pick'em pools where you have to pick a winner each week.
- 4:31SPEAKER_01: And if you pick the right team, you move on to the next week, but you can't pick that team again.
- 4:36SPEAKER_01: For those who don't know how those pools work.
- 4:39SPEAKER_01: And for this one, we figured we were going to put Todd up against the AI and see if Todd was smarter than the AI.
- 4:47SPEAKER_01: So we asked the AI if we were to pick them pool, who should we pick this week?
- 4:52SPEAKER_01: And it spit back this elaborate analysis that said you should pick the Los Angeles Chargers after all this analysis.
- 5:02SPEAKER_01: So we said, fine, that's what the AI picked.
- 5:05SPEAKER_01: It knows what it's doing.
- 5:06SPEAKER_01: And Todd said, You're an idiot for taking the Chargers.
- 5:10SPEAKER_01: I'm picking the Seahawks.
- 5:12SPEAKER_01: So we had the Seahawks versus the Chargers.
- 5:15SPEAKER_01: Obviously, the Seahawks kicked the season off five plays into it.
- 5:20SPEAKER_01: It did not look good for the Seahawks.
- 5:21SPEAKER_01: Their starting quarterback, what did he tweak his hip or something like that, and he was done?
- 5:25SPEAKER_01: But they managed to pull the victory out against the Patriots, unlike the Chargers that the AI picked, who got their ass handed to them by the Arizona Cardinals.
- 5:36SPEAKER_01: They should be embarrassed.
- 5:38SPEAKER_01: They should be embarrassed.
- 5:40SPEAKER_01: In the grand battle of Todd versus the AI.
- 5:44SPEAKER_01: Todd, cheers to you.
- 5:45SPEAKER_01: You are smarter than the AI.
- 5:47SPEAKER_04: And the only reason I picked them was because it was the first game of the week just to get it out of the way.
- 5:54SPEAKER_01: Whatever rationale that Todd has to use to make his picks, I thought you, you know, I thought you liked their colors.
- 6:00SPEAKER_01: I figured that's why you went with them.
- 6:01SPEAKER_04: Well, and also then I did realize afterwards that that was a Super Bowl rematch.
- 6:07SPEAKER_04: I totally forgot the Patriots was even in that Super Bowl.
- 6:10SPEAKER_01: That was a blurry Super Bowl for you?
- 6:12SPEAKER_02: Yeah, that was a blurry one.
- 6:14SPEAKER_02: And everybody forgot that they even played Wednesday night.
- 6:19SPEAKER_01: When do we start playing football on Wednesday night?
- 6:21SPEAKER_04: Right, right.
- 6:23SPEAKER_04: And then the next the next night, should have we should have bet on this one because I found out afterwards that the Rams, uh, San Fran was in Australia for like four days, and the Rams ended up landing in Australia like four hours before they were gonna play that game or something crazy like that.
- 6:44SPEAKER_04: Four or five hours.
- 6:46SPEAKER_01: Whatever they did was stupid.
- 6:47SPEAKER_01: They did not have a good game plan.
- 6:49SPEAKER_02: No, that was bad.
- 6:51SPEAKER_02: No, I think I think the uh 49ers went out like a week ahead of time.
- 6:55SPEAKER_01: Yeah, 49ers were a week.
- 6:57SPEAKER_02: Yeah, or yeah, they were there for a while.
- 7:00SPEAKER_01: Right, and they had plenty of time to acclimate to the change, recover from that flight, and then everybody that that you've seen on TV talking, it's like if you make that trip to Australia, you need at least three days to recover from that flight.
- 7:13SPEAKER_04: Yeah, they landed that day for that game, from what I heard.
- 7:18SPEAKER_01: It was close, it was close enough that it was the day before, but it was still Miles Garrett hurt himself so bad he's gotta go on IR.
- 7:24SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 7:25SPEAKER_04: It was a day before because you go back in the future when you go to Australia.
- 7:32SPEAKER_04: They're always a day ahead of us.
- 7:35SPEAKER_01: Right.
- 7:35SPEAKER_01: Listen to Todd logic on the calendar there, Vale.
- 7:38SPEAKER_04: See, got it.
- 7:40SPEAKER_04: Back to the future.
- 7:45SPEAKER_02: Oh goodness.
- 7:48SPEAKER_01: All right, so there's there's your there's your football update.
- 7:51SPEAKER_01: We'll keep you post on fantasy football as things progress.
- 7:55SPEAKER_01: Todd, anything you have to kick off, open mic night for this evening here.
- 8:00SPEAKER_04: Yeah, since we were talking about the draft, I had a now tell me if I'm a little insensitive about this story I'm about to tell you.
- 8:08SPEAKER_04: We were at my buddy's uh neighbor's house, let's call him the duck.
- 8:12SPEAKER_04: He was hosting the draft.
- 8:14SPEAKER_04: And after the draft, we're all mingling, there's about 15 dudes that are in his garage, and the sidewalk of his house is on his side of the house, and then there's no sidewalk across the street.
- 8:28SPEAKER_04: Got it?
- 8:29SPEAKER_04: Got it.
- 8:30SPEAKER_04: We're all mingling around in the his dog Coda, I do believe is her name or his name, was walking around, not on a leash or anything, just mingling around.
- 8:40SPEAKER_04: There's food on the floor, you know, just doing it, dog things.
- 8:44SPEAKER_04: And his truck is in the driveway.
- 8:47SPEAKER_04: So this lady is walking down the street, in the street, and she's got a little dog, and she can't see it.
- 8:55SPEAKER_04: Once she gets past the truck, the dog bolts after this other little dog, and she takes the dog and runs it across the street and then on the grass, and then finally Coda gets up to the dog and she dives on the dog like it was a hangar nade, like she was gonna protect the dog.
- 9:16SPEAKER_04: And I'm watching this from across the street, and I just start laughing because well, first the dog should have been on the leaf, but I was just is that funny, or is that just me being she could the dog could have mauled the little dog or mauled her even, but she dove on that dog like it was a grenade, like Captain America in his first event.
- 9:39SPEAKER_01: She was she protecting the dog from the owner?
- 9:41SPEAKER_01: What was going on here?
- 9:42SPEAKER_04: Oh, but protecting the dog from the other dog, Coda.
- 9:46SPEAKER_01: Oh, the woman jumped on the dog.
- 9:48SPEAKER_04: The woman jumped on the dog like a grenade.
- 9:51SPEAKER_04: The woman jumps on the dog.
- 9:54SPEAKER_04: Old lady, too.
- 9:55SPEAKER_04: Not not like just uh mom, she was a grandma for sure.
- 10:00SPEAKER_04: Okay, well, Vale's laughing, okay.
- 10:04SPEAKER_04: I'm sure we I would have been laughing there.
- 10:07SPEAKER_04: Yeah, I just thought rain on the grass and like scooped it in like a fumble that I was cracking up.
- 10:14SPEAKER_04: That'd been funny, but you would have yelled, take cover.
- 10:18SPEAKER_04: Well, I did well, I didn't want to be insensitive, so I walked away at that point, though.
- 10:22SPEAKER_04: I didn't want to see the dog ball.
- 10:24SPEAKER_04: So then my buddy the duck got over there, got the dog away.
- 10:28SPEAKER_04: Nothing happened, and then she kind of like smirked or whatever.
- 10:32SPEAKER_04: But I was laughing that the dog went in there and jumped in.
- 10:36SPEAKER_01: Let me get this straight.
- 10:37SPEAKER_01: The duh went over to the ducks.
- 10:41SPEAKER_04: Yes, yes, that is correct.
- 10:44SPEAKER_01: Okay, I want to make sure I heard that correctly.
- 10:47SPEAKER_01: The duh went to the ducks.
- 10:49SPEAKER_01: The duh went to the ducks.
- 10:51SPEAKER_01: A duh and a duck walk into a bar.
- 10:53SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 10:54SPEAKER_04: Then I felt bad too.
- 10:56SPEAKER_04: Again, then I'm like telling the duck, I'm like, oh, the cops are gonna take your dog here.
- 11:01SPEAKER_04: They come, she's gonna call the cops the party's over.
- 11:06SPEAKER_04: And then I was making fun of them.
- 11:07SPEAKER_04: Then the canine unit showed up and did take the dog away, and the party was over.
- 11:13SPEAKER_01: Were they crazy?
- 11:14SPEAKER_01: Were you crazy once?
- 11:15SPEAKER_01: Yeah, it's crazy once.
- 11:17SPEAKER_04: Yeah, so that was kind of messed up.
- 11:19SPEAKER_04: Then the draft was finally over.
- 11:22SPEAKER_01: So the duck lost his dog?
- 11:24SPEAKER_04: Well, he didn't lose it.
- 11:26SPEAKER_04: He went to doggy court the next day, and the the judge gave time served and a warning for not having a dog on the leash.
- 11:36SPEAKER_01: Okay.
- 11:37SPEAKER_04: Yeah, so he got the dog back, but had to spend time in jail.
- 11:43SPEAKER_01: So everything everybody's okay?
- 11:45SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 11:46SPEAKER_01: All right.
- 11:47SPEAKER_01: Yeah, yeah.
- 11:47SPEAKER_01: So lesson learned, keep your dog on the leash.
- 11:50SPEAKER_04: Yes, that, and I don't know why she just ran across the street.
- 11:54SPEAKER_04: Why didn't she just pick that little dog up?
- 11:58SPEAKER_04: Running away from a dog, which you're not supposed to do anyway, and then diving on it like a grenade.
- 12:04SPEAKER_04: So that was my little draft story, neighborhood draft story.
- 12:08SPEAKER_04: Insensitive Todd, we can call it.
- 12:10SPEAKER_01: Insensitive dog, okay.
- 12:12SPEAKER_02: Well, Vale.
- 12:16SPEAKER_02: Dropped the bot.
- 12:17SPEAKER_04: Oh, I would have broke her.
- 12:19SPEAKER_01: She was frail.
- 12:21SPEAKER_01: Well, Vale, you're gonna like this.
- 12:24SPEAKER_01: I decided to go back to the Waffle House for some unknown reason.
- 12:28SPEAKER_01: And and get and eat eat breakfast there.
- 12:32SPEAKER_01: And this is how this is how my adventure went.
- 12:36SPEAKER_01: You obviously know that the Lummox is not a small guy, and I don't usually blend into my surroundings.
- 12:43SPEAKER_01: You usually know I'm there, right?
- 12:44SPEAKER_01: If I'm standing next to you, if I'm sitting at a counter waiting to be served, it's not like you don't see me.
- 12:52SPEAKER_02: Only in a uh golden corral would you be lost in the corral because there's some uh biggins in there.
- 12:58SPEAKER_02: Some big ins.
- 13:00SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 13:01SPEAKER_01: So so I'm there, I'm there with the family.
- 13:03SPEAKER_01: Got the got my wife, got got the kid.
- 13:05SPEAKER_01: We're at we're at we're at the waffle house.
- 13:08SPEAKER_01: We sat down.
- 13:10SPEAKER_01: I think it was a solid 10 minutes go by, and somebody finally comes up.
- 13:16SPEAKER_01: Oh, my name is whatever.
- 13:18SPEAKER_01: I'm gonna I'm I'm gonna take your order.
- 13:20SPEAKER_01: And it's like, oh well, why thank you.
- 13:24SPEAKER_01: We appreciate that.
- 13:25SPEAKER_01: So given the lack of situational awareness and the way she introduced herself to me, I knew we weren't gonna have a medium rare, rare waffle conversation with this one.
- 13:37SPEAKER_01: We just have to order and get what we get, okay?
- 13:40SPEAKER_01: I couldn't, I could not dye it down any further with her.
- 13:43SPEAKER_01: We were already at ground zero, okay, on that conversation.
- 13:47SPEAKER_02: Gotcha.
- 13:48SPEAKER_01: So we go ahead and we're gonna play place our order.
- 13:51SPEAKER_01: We everybody places their order and we're watching.
- 13:56SPEAKER_01: And you know in a waffle house, you know that you know how they place your order after you give it to the server, they just start yelling it out, right?
- 14:03SPEAKER_01: Right?
- 14:04SPEAKER_01: I need four eggs, drop four eggs, I need to drop four hash browns, six bacons, two waffles, whatever.
- 14:11SPEAKER_01: They just they yell it out, right?
- 14:13SPEAKER_01: So when your waitress is silent, that's a good indication that your order is not being placed.
- 14:22SPEAKER_01: That's a good indication that the the chain of communication has stopped, and your order is not in the process anywhere.
- 14:32SPEAKER_01: We still haven't gotten our drinks yet.
- 14:34SPEAKER_01: So she finally brings the drinks over to us, and my wife asks, But was the waffle house busy at this time?
- 14:41SPEAKER_01: I would say 70% occupancy.
- 14:46SPEAKER_01: Got it.
- 14:46SPEAKER_01: Okay, couple, couple, couple bar seats were still open, a couple booths were still open, and it was like it was like a normal morning, you know?
- 14:54SPEAKER_01: And number numbers are flying, waffles are flying, but my waitress is standing silently behind the counter with her little yellow pad that she scribbled her notes onto, not doing a goddamn thing.
- 15:10SPEAKER_01: And so then she brings, she said, after like another five minutes, she finally, I guess, had um had a you know mental sunrise and realized she hadn't got our drinks yet.
- 15:17SPEAKER_01: Then she brings the drinks over, and my wife says, Were you gonna we gonna place place our order?
- 15:22SPEAKER_01: Oh yeah, I had to do something else first.
- 15:25SPEAKER_04: She took wait, she took your order and didn't yell it back there to meld the the yes, she she took the order and went silent.
- 15:33SPEAKER_04: And went silent, so she didn't say anything.
- 15:36SPEAKER_04: So already you're steaming because you know that the order's gonna be screwed up somehow.
- 15:41SPEAKER_01: Well, it's already gonna be delayed, right?
- 15:42SPEAKER_01: We already we already know it's delayed.
- 15:44SPEAKER_01: They still have they still have the ability to get it correct, although late, right?
- 15:50SPEAKER_01: At this point in the transaction.
- 15:53SPEAKER_01: So she, oh yeah, I was I was gonna do it.
- 15:55SPEAKER_01: So she starts rattling things off.
- 15:58SPEAKER_01: And people start people start cooking.
- 16:01SPEAKER_01: And I noticed that there is a station veil.
- 16:04SPEAKER_01: You know, this is a station where you cook the bacon, there's a station where you cook the eggs, there's a station where you slap the hash browns on there, there's a station where you do the toast, and there's a station where you cook the waffles in the waffle iron.
- 16:18SPEAKER_01: You apply the glop, you close the iron, and you cook the waffles, right?
- 16:22SPEAKER_01: Yep.
- 16:23SPEAKER_01: So if she rattles everything off, including the waffle, I will give her credit.
- 16:28SPEAKER_01: She rattled off the waffle, but nobody goes over and puts the gloop in the waffle iron.
- 16:34SPEAKER_01: Your waffle's not getting cooked, right?
- 16:36SPEAKER_01: There's no waffle in process.
- 16:38SPEAKER_01: We're watching all this, and she brings, she brings me my food, she brings me my son's food, and she brings a portion of my wife's food.
- 16:48SPEAKER_01: Because we already know there's no waffle yet, because nobody's even started cooking it.
- 16:53SPEAKER_01: Now, I I know I can be the lummox at times.
- 16:58SPEAKER_01: I know that I have used my hand as a backhoe to clean out bowls of dip and just lick my fingers.
- 17:04SPEAKER_01: But in a public place, I tend to use utensils to be a little more civilized.
- 17:11SPEAKER_01: We have no utensils.
- 17:12SPEAKER_01: That should not shock you yet, based on the way this story is going.
- 17:16SPEAKER_01: But the next thing will shock you.
- 17:18SPEAKER_01: I don't expect, and I don't have, I don't hold any Waffle House employee to the level of, let's say, a mathematician.
- 17:27SPEAKER_01: I don't expect any Waffle House employee to do calculus in their head while they're ordering waffles.
- 17:33SPEAKER_01: I don't expect any Waffle House employee to do long division in their head.
- 17:40SPEAKER_01: But counting to three might just have to be, you know, a standard standard thing that you should be able to do.
- 17:47SPEAKER_01: So we say, can we get some utensils?
- 17:49SPEAKER_01: She walks.
- 17:50SPEAKER_01: Oh, yes.
- 17:50SPEAKER_01: She walks away, she comes back with one fork.
- 17:57SPEAKER_01: Now there are three of us.
- 17:58SPEAKER_04: Oh no, she didn't.
- 18:00SPEAKER_01: There are three of us.
- 18:01SPEAKER_01: Now here's the kicker.
- 18:02SPEAKER_01: She goes to hand us the fork and she goes, Oh, I only brought one.
- 18:06SPEAKER_01: No shit.
- 18:08SPEAKER_01: Can you please go get the other two and also get some knives so we can cut?
- 18:14SPEAKER_02: Oh my god.
- 18:15SPEAKER_02: No way.
- 18:16SPEAKER_02: I would have just said, can I cut you?
- 18:18SPEAKER_02: Do you mind if I just get behind the counter and do my own?
- 18:20SPEAKER_02: I thought about it.
- 18:21SPEAKER_02: I thought about it.
- 18:22SPEAKER_02: I wouldn't be able to handle it.
- 18:23SPEAKER_02: I'll be like, first of all, I wouldn't.
- 18:27SPEAKER_02: Do you guys have an issue back there?
- 18:28SPEAKER_02: Do you need me to cook my own?
- 18:29SPEAKER_02: Is this make your own waffle day at Waffle House?
- 18:33SPEAKER_01: Notice I haven't said anything about the waffle yet because it still hasn't been cooked.
- 18:39SPEAKER_04: And you're letting this go.
- 18:40SPEAKER_04: And you're letting this go now because you're going to see how long you can let this go so you can talk about it later, right?
- 18:47SPEAKER_01: I I looked at my son and I go, normally I probably would act a lot differently, but we got open mic tonight coming up.
- 18:56SPEAKER_01: So I gotta get as much as I can out of this situation.
- 19:06SPEAKER_01: My wife finally reminds her, there's nobody cooking my waffle.
- 19:09SPEAKER_01: Oh, you're right, nobody's cooking.
- 19:10SPEAKER_01: She goes, You can just put it in a Dego container because we're all done.
- 19:14SPEAKER_01: We just need our waffle.
- 19:18SPEAKER_01: And then we left, he said, come back and see us again.
- 19:22SPEAKER_01: I was like, there's no fucking chance at that.
- 19:25SPEAKER_01: I gotta find a new breakfast place.
- 19:28SPEAKER_04: Oh no.
- 19:29SPEAKER_01: So so there, there you go, Vale.
- 19:32SPEAKER_01: I I knew you wouldn't you would enjoy that, but oh my god, I wish I could have made that up, but I'm literally sitting there watching this go down, and in my mind, I'm going, This is a duh-it down episode.
- 19:43SPEAKER_01: This whole entire thing right here.
- 19:46SPEAKER_04: So you guys ate your whole meal knowing that you didn't get the waffle, and then told her at the end that we didn't get her waffle.
- 19:53SPEAKER_04: And and one fork.
- 19:54SPEAKER_01: And one fork that you shared.
- 19:56SPEAKER_01: We had to we had to share forks and clean it off after every bite.
- 20:00SPEAKER_04: So, how long do you think the delay was?
- 20:02SPEAKER_04: Well, I guess you never got the waffle until did she have the waffle in the to-go, ready to go.
- 20:07SPEAKER_01: She gave us the we were I was gonna get that waffle.
- 20:09SPEAKER_01: I was paying for the damn thing.
- 20:10SPEAKER_01: We were gonna get that waffle.
- 20:12SPEAKER_01: So we we we got and it and I'm the the people next to next to us were getting the same kind of level of service.
- 20:18SPEAKER_01: So I looked at them and I said, I said, Did you did you get what you ordered?
- 20:22SPEAKER_01: They go, Not yet.
- 20:23SPEAKER_01: I said, it might be a while.
- 20:25SPEAKER_01: You you might want to read a book or something.
- 20:27SPEAKER_01: I just started laughing.
- 20:29SPEAKER_04: I know there's podcasts that you can see.
- 20:32SPEAKER_01: I I know a good podcast would give you like 45 minutes of entertainment.
- 20:36SPEAKER_01: By that time you might get your fork.
- 20:38SPEAKER_04: There you go.
- 20:39SPEAKER_04: Wow.
- 20:40SPEAKER_01: So yes, that was that was the highlight of one of my one of my breakfast mornings there.
- 20:45SPEAKER_01: And I I couldn't believe it was unfolding like that.
- 20:48SPEAKER_01: And if if it if I didn't if I didn't need or didn't you know want to see how far it would it would go, I would have ended a lot sooner, but uh, it was just it was it was writing itself.
- 20:59SPEAKER_01: I couldn't stop.
- 21:01SPEAKER_02: That was a good one.
- 21:02SPEAKER_02: Like it's I like that story.
- 21:04SPEAKER_02: Oh, by the way, I need to update everybody on the whole whopper thing.
- 21:10SPEAKER_02: Right?
- 21:11SPEAKER_02: If you remember way back on our episode where we discussed our top five, and I had the whopper in there.
- 21:20SPEAKER_02: So I am going to kick the whopper out now of my top five.
- 21:26SPEAKER_02: I'm doing a new one.
- 21:27SPEAKER_02: And I'll tell you why.
- 21:29SPEAKER_02: I went to uh this happened last night, went to uh Royal Farms, which again to all the listeners out there, Royal Farms is a gas station convenience store that has the best fried chicken, right?
- 21:44SPEAKER_02: Located in the mid-Atlantic region.
- 21:47SPEAKER_02: And if you're in this region or if you s heard of uh Wawa or Sheets or uh that type of thing, Circle K, I guess, and wherever else you wherever you l may live.
- 22:00SPEAKER_02: So this real farms has the best chicken from what the Lummox and the Todd both say.
- 22:07SPEAKER_02: So I tried the chicken and it was fantastic.
- 22:12SPEAKER_02: You never had it before?
- 22:13SPEAKER_02: No, I have, but it's been a while because our grocery store usually we get their chicken.
- 22:19SPEAKER_02: But I'm gonna say this Royal Farms, I must I uh you know, it was fantastic.
- 22:25SPEAKER_02: It was better than the grocery store from what I remember.
- 22:28SPEAKER_02: I mean, oh yeah, because I had that not long ago, so this it was much better.
- 22:32SPEAKER_02: So I'm gonna put uh you know Royal Farms up there and I'll bump out the uh whopper.
- 22:38SPEAKER_02: Because I heard somebody else try the Whopper and they're like, it's totally disgusting.
- 22:42SPEAKER_02: Uh it's smaller, change the bun, you know.
- 22:46SPEAKER_02: They're not good.
- 22:49SPEAKER_02: Yeah, you don't you don't get bacon, apparently.
- 22:52SPEAKER_02: You know, so we will knock that out since I haven't had one forever.
- 22:56SPEAKER_02: I should go try one too, but oh no, you shouldn't.
- 22:59SPEAKER_01: No, yeah.
- 23:01SPEAKER_02: Well, I was buying one the other day.
- 23:02SPEAKER_02: I was like, should I go in there?
- 23:03SPEAKER_02: And I was like, Yeah, never mind.
- 23:04SPEAKER_02: I'm not doing it.
- 23:06SPEAKER_01: Have you have you have you tried the the new Arby's?
- 23:09SPEAKER_01: Was it the steak nuggets?
- 23:11SPEAKER_02: Yeah, no, I didn't try those.
- 23:13SPEAKER_01: I have.
- 23:14SPEAKER_01: Are they any good?
- 23:15SPEAKER_04: No, they're not good.
- 23:17SPEAKER_01: They're not good.
- 23:18SPEAKER_04: Don't waste your money.
- 23:19SPEAKER_04: It's like six dollars and seventy-nine cents or whatever, and you get four little nuggets.
- 23:25SPEAKER_04: So do you put the whopper at six then, or is it off the list, or is it going on the Vail 15 side?
- 23:32SPEAKER_02: It's gonna go on the uh above the 15 side, I guess.
- 23:37SPEAKER_02: Wow, that's a big deal.
- 23:39SPEAKER_02: There's no way after Lummox's story, you know.
- 23:41SPEAKER_02: Again, that's why I said I should go try it, but you know, after Lummox tried it, and uh, you know, and I was going off, I haven't seen one in a while that or I haven't had one in a while, that uh I'll just drop that one down off the list because there's no way it's gonna take off any of the other stuff I had on that list.
- 23:59SPEAKER_02: So but I put real farms, I'll put it at five.
- 24:03SPEAKER_02: So there you go.
- 24:04SPEAKER_02: I got a chicken on there.
- 24:05SPEAKER_02: Nice.
- 24:06SPEAKER_01: There you go.
- 24:07SPEAKER_01: All right.
- 24:07SPEAKER_01: I like I like it when you when you amend previous episodes.
- 24:11SPEAKER_02: I have one more to amend, too.
- 24:13SPEAKER_01: Oh, wait, there's more.
- 24:14SPEAKER_02: Yeah, well, well, I'm gonna go back.
- 24:17SPEAKER_02: We'll go back to the candy bar, and I think I mentioned this too because everybody got mad at me because I left off one of my favorite candy bars.
- 24:24SPEAKER_02: So I'm gonna have to drop the Wonka bars since they don't make those anymore.
- 24:28SPEAKER_02: And I haven't had them in a long, long time.
- 24:31SPEAKER_02: Apparently, though, I heard that the uh so I think Cadbury bought Wonka, but then Nestle bought Cadbury.
- 24:38SPEAKER_02: But I hear that during Halloween they are going to come up with uh they're gonna come out with some uh Wonka stuff.
- 24:46SPEAKER_02: So I don't know, but I'll have to drop that one off the list because I forgot payday, which is one of my favorite candy bars.
- 24:55SPEAKER_02: So we did not even talk about that, any of us, but I got yelled at because I didn't have that on my list, and it's definitely one of my favorite ones.
- 25:02SPEAKER_01: So is that the one with the uh the nougat and the wrapped in peanuts?
- 25:05SPEAKER_04: Yeah, yeah.
- 25:07SPEAKER_04: We did talk about the nut goodie, which is similar to a payday.
- 25:13SPEAKER_02: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 25:14SPEAKER_02: One of the the nut rolls and stuff.
- 25:16SPEAKER_02: Yeah, nut rolls, yeah.
- 25:17SPEAKER_02: I have to uh amend that one as well.
- 25:20SPEAKER_02: So those are the two I'm amending as I go back and listen to some of these episodes to audit them and uh make sure that some of the stuff we said that we will follow up on if we need to.
- 25:30SPEAKER_02: I had to follow up on those two.
- 25:32SPEAKER_02: Those are two of them I had to follow up on.
- 25:34SPEAKER_01: Look at look at you being proactive.
- 25:36SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 25:37SPEAKER_04: So now so now do you stick the Wonka bar at six, or is it off the list?
- 25:43SPEAKER_02: I'll put it down at six.
- 25:44SPEAKER_02: I really like those, but they just they don't make them anymore.
- 25:47SPEAKER_02: It's kind of like the Reggie Bar.
- 25:48SPEAKER_02: Well, the Reggie Bar they're making again, but um apparently you haven't got one yet, so we don't know if that's true or not.
- 25:55SPEAKER_02: Right.
- 25:55SPEAKER_02: I I'm still working on that one.
- 25:57SPEAKER_02: Yeah, you get that one.
- 26:00SPEAKER_04: Todd, did you order the Regibars?
- 26:02SPEAKER_04: Uh not yet.
- 26:04SPEAKER_04: It's still in the works.
- 26:06SPEAKER_01: It's still in the works.
- 26:08SPEAKER_04: We'll get there.
- 26:09SPEAKER_01: Are you allowed to can you order those on Amazon?
- 26:11SPEAKER_04: Yes.
- 26:12SPEAKER_04: That's what he says.
- 26:13SPEAKER_01: Then how much easier can it be?
- 26:15SPEAKER_01: I'm sure you can do one-click ordering.
- 26:17SPEAKER_01: Yes.
- 26:18SPEAKER_01: How much easier can it be to point and click?
- 26:20SPEAKER_01: Well, his his his neighbors your waitress.
- 26:22SPEAKER_02: He's doing things just standing there.
- 26:25SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 26:26SPEAKER_02: Looking at the piece of paper.
- 26:28SPEAKER_02: Yep.
- 26:28SPEAKER_02: I gotta I gotta break it down to the Duchess and say, we need this.
- 26:33SPEAKER_02: So there you go.
- 26:34SPEAKER_02: And you know one thing?
- 26:35SPEAKER_02: I went back and I was listening to some of the movie things because I was I was trying to see what we rated each movie review, right?
- 26:45SPEAKER_02: So we say that this is one of the worst movies I've ever seen.
- 26:49SPEAKER_02: What other movies we've seen have we rated that low or rated that high, right?
- 26:56SPEAKER_02: So it seems that uh Cocaine Bear has been the most favorite movie that we have watched on our ratings.
- 27:05SPEAKER_02: But the lowest ones are definitely uh War of the Worlds, Killer Sofa, and The Source and Kracoon.
- 27:16SPEAKER_02: Those four seem to be the worst ones.
- 27:18SPEAKER_01: I think out of those four, Kracoon is the best.
- 27:21SPEAKER_01: Probably.
- 27:23SPEAKER_01: Without a doubt, Kracoon has got to be the best out of those select four.
- 27:32SPEAKER_02: Yeah, except for my boy from uh Diary of One Piece Kid.
- 27:35SPEAKER_02: He was funny.
- 27:37SPEAKER_01: Well what makes War of the Worlds so bad is that the the money they spent on the cast to be in that movie, right?
- 27:44SPEAKER_01: It's at least at least with Kill a Sofa, they were just you know unknown actors, right?
- 27:48SPEAKER_01: And a and a really cheap sofa they bought at the Goodwill.
- 27:51SPEAKER_03: Right?
- 27:52SPEAKER_01: But at least in War of the Worlds, they had some they had some actor star power in that, and that was the best that they could they could come up with, right?
- 27:59SPEAKER_01: I think that's what makes it the worst.
- 28:00SPEAKER_01: But you know, as we as we said the other night, I think on our fan questions, I think in I think in Kracoon 2, I think I think Todd needs to befriend the next Cracoon and sit in the woods and hang out with it.
- 28:11SPEAKER_02: He would.
- 28:12SPEAKER_02: He definitely would.
- 28:14SPEAKER_02: So but but listening to Velocipaster, we did not rate that one on the dust scale.
- 28:21SPEAKER_02: We didn't?
- 28:22SPEAKER_02: That was our that was our first one.
- 28:24SPEAKER_02: We did not.
- 28:25SPEAKER_02: Okay.
- 28:26SPEAKER_02: So we're gonna have to rate it now.
- 28:29SPEAKER_01: Well, I I we were nervous when we did that one.
- 28:32SPEAKER_02: Well, we gave it star, we were talking about how many stars did it get or whatever off one of the sites.
- 28:37SPEAKER_02: So we were saying, you know, on how many stars would you get type thing.
- 28:41SPEAKER_02: So we talked about that, but we didn't we we didn't do the duh rating until the next one, which was Rise of the Jurassic.
- 28:50SPEAKER_02: Which by the way, I listened to that again, and it is so funny to listen the lummox go off on Coconut Guy.
- 28:59SPEAKER_02: Most of the movie reviews we talked like from the beginning of the movie all the way through.
- 29:04SPEAKER_02: And that one we were all over the place because he kept going off rail about coconut.
- 29:11SPEAKER_02: The mere mention of him in the beginning of that podcast, Lummox moved right to the middle of the movie and went off about this guy doing it.
- 29:20SPEAKER_02: And I'm glad he got eaten by a dinosaur.
- 29:22SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 29:23SPEAKER_02: Or chopped on by a dinosaur.
- 29:26SPEAKER_02: Well, you gotta remember we didn't explain any part of the movie leading up to that.
- 29:32SPEAKER_02: He just went right to that part yelling at the guy.
- 29:35SPEAKER_02: Oh my god.
- 29:38SPEAKER_04: That that he was uh drinking on the sidewalk all day that before he did that one.
- 29:44SPEAKER_04: He came in a little loopy.
- 29:46SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 29:46SPEAKER_02: Yeah, listeners.
- 29:47SPEAKER_02: If you haven't listened to Rise of Jurassic, can you go?
- 29:50SPEAKER_02: I'm gonna apologize up front that we don't go through that movie as smooth as we should because we had someone flying off the rails at that one.
- 30:00SPEAKER_01: And if you're looking for it in our list, I believe that was episode two.
- 30:04SPEAKER_02: Yes, yes, it was.
- 30:06SPEAKER_02: All right, so let's just rate Velocipaster, which is for our listeners, that was episode one.
- 30:10SPEAKER_02: That was our first one that we were told to do.
- 30:13SPEAKER_02: So on the duh scale.
- 30:22SPEAKER_04: Because we like to do it backwards and differently.
- 30:26SPEAKER_04: That's how we roll.
- 30:27SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 30:28SPEAKER_04: So velocipasser.
- 30:30SPEAKER_01: If I had to say anything on Velocipasser first without actually getting to a rating, if I compare it to Killer Sofa, it's better than Killer Sofa.
- 30:40SPEAKER_01: If I compare it to the Source, it's better than the Source.
- 30:45SPEAKER_01: If I compare it to uh what was the uh War of the Worlds, it's better than War of the Worlds.
- 30:53SPEAKER_01: It's probably equal ish to Cracoon, probably equal-ish to methgator, not as good as Cocaine Bear.
- 31:04SPEAKER_03: Right.
- 31:05SPEAKER_01: So that that's my that's my person, that's the Lummox's personal opinion on how the Velocipastor would fit into you know the realm of some of those movies.
- 31:15SPEAKER_01: And based on that, I would probably have to give it maybe like uh a six and a half-ish, seven.
- 31:26SPEAKER_01: I mean, it's not it's not the worst movie, it's not the best movie.
- 31:30SPEAKER_01: I've I've watched it three times, so obviously it's got some sort of replay value, whereas Killer Sofa has zero replay value.
- 31:38SPEAKER_01: So I guess I may put it like in that that realm.
- 31:41SPEAKER_01: What do you think, Todd?
- 31:43SPEAKER_04: Well, we the one we keep forgetting off the list, too, is Killer Donuts, too.
- 31:46SPEAKER_04: We have that one in our episodes, too.
- 31:50SPEAKER_04: I would say Killer Donuts, speaking of that one, and Velocipastor were probably equal to their.
- 31:58SPEAKER_04: I do Verise of the of the Jurassic was better than that movie than Velocipastor, I think, going one and two when we did that.
- 32:08SPEAKER_04: So I would say it was equal to, yeah, probably like a seven.
- 32:13SPEAKER_02: Yeah, and I would say 7.5 for me.
- 32:15SPEAKER_02: But yes, I agree with uh both of you.
- 32:18SPEAKER_02: We had some worse movies, we've had some better movies.
- 32:22SPEAKER_02: I think this one's kind of right in the middle with its because it was entertaining.
- 32:28SPEAKER_02: I mean, you know, the uh Party City Dinosaur, Frankie Mermaid, do the other stuff in there, so made it more entertaining than some of these other movies.
- 32:40SPEAKER_01: When what was what was the guy's name?
- 32:42SPEAKER_01: The what was the boss or pastor's name?
- 32:44SPEAKER_01: I can't remember.
- 32:44SPEAKER_01: Doug or something.
- 32:46SPEAKER_01: When he sees the woman lying on the ground with an arrow sticking out of her chest right where her heart is, and he asks her, Hey, are you okay?
- 32:59SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 33:01SPEAKER_02: Cinematic genius right there.
- 33:03SPEAKER_02: Yeah, because that's in almost every movie that we ever movie after.
- 33:07SPEAKER_02: Are you okay after someone's hurt?
- 33:10SPEAKER_01: And and how could you forget the intense training that the ninjas, again, there's ninjas in this movie.
- 33:16SPEAKER_01: How can you forget the intense training that the ninjas had to go through to achieve their throwing stars in their black belt?
- 33:23SPEAKER_02: Yeah, exactly.
- 33:25SPEAKER_02: Uh so I had to bring that up because you know, again, doing it during the audits, uh, that was some of the uh stuff I came across there.
- 33:34SPEAKER_02: So keep good work, keep up the audits.
- 33:37SPEAKER_02: I will.
- 33:37SPEAKER_02: I'll keep them going.
- 33:39SPEAKER_02: I'll keep bringing up stuff that we've actually said or talked about.
- 33:44SPEAKER_01: Or that we need to go back and correct.
- 33:46SPEAKER_01: Or sign some NDAs and non-disclosures on.
- 33:52SPEAKER_02: Too funny.
- 33:53SPEAKER_01: All right, so I got another one.
- 33:56SPEAKER_02: Oh goodness.
- 33:57SPEAKER_02: This doesn't involve an easy pass, does it?
- 34:00SPEAKER_01: Well, I went on a road trip to the beach for Labor Day weekend, which just recently happened.
- 34:11SPEAKER_01: And things start out good.
- 34:16SPEAKER_01: In the car, rolling along.
- 34:19SPEAKER_01: We needed to get something to eat.
- 34:20SPEAKER_01: There was a there was a Chick-fil-A on the next exit.
- 34:23SPEAKER_01: We hit the Chick-fil-A.
- 34:25SPEAKER_01: Order the I know Vale, you do not like the Chick-fil-A, but some of us do, so we will we go there.
- 34:30SPEAKER_02: Oh, wait, wait, before you go, uh, because I'll forget this.
- 34:35SPEAKER_02: I uh had one of those new Chick-fil-A waffle bacon and chicken sandwiches.
- 34:42SPEAKER_02: Fantastic.
- 34:43SPEAKER_01: Oh, you you like those?
- 34:45SPEAKER_02: The only Chick-fil-A thing I was oh, I guess now I can go to Chick-fil-A, but that's what I would get if they keep those around.
- 34:51SPEAKER_02: But yes, there you go.
- 34:53SPEAKER_02: Does it go on your list?
- 34:55SPEAKER_02: No, no, okay.
- 34:58SPEAKER_02: It won't make top five, but it was good.
- 35:00SPEAKER_02: I loved it.
- 35:00SPEAKER_02: Yeah, was it a medium rare waffle?
- 35:03SPEAKER_02: No, it's burnt, but it's still good.
- 35:07SPEAKER_02: The uh syrup makes it taste better.
- 35:10SPEAKER_02: Syrupy, the the syrupy flavor.
- 35:12SPEAKER_01: This is syrupy, yeah.
- 35:15SPEAKER_02: All right, go ahead there.
- 35:16SPEAKER_01: That's all right.
- 35:17SPEAKER_01: So we we go to the Chick-fil-a, place the order.
- 35:19SPEAKER_01: Now we go, we normally just get nuggets, a drink, their fries, because I we I like their nuggets.
- 35:25SPEAKER_01: I also like their Chick-fil-A sauce, it's like their signature sauce, right?
- 35:29SPEAKER_01: It's you most places you go, you can get ketchup, you have mayonnaise, whatever kind of condiments.
- 35:35SPEAKER_01: Chick-fil-a has Chick-fil-A sauce, it's amazing.
- 35:39SPEAKER_01: They were out of Chick-fil-A sauce.
- 35:44SPEAKER_01: So you're Chick-fil-A and you serve Chick-fil-A sauce with your meals, and you're out of Chick-fil-A sauce.
- 35:53SPEAKER_01: At what point in the time did you realize you were running low?
- 35:56SPEAKER_01: Right?
- 35:57SPEAKER_01: It's it's it's it's again not an endangered species.
- 36:00SPEAKER_01: You can call corporate, yeah.
- 36:02SPEAKER_01: You need to people are eating the shit out of this Chick-fil-A sauce.
- 36:04SPEAKER_01: Gotta send some more over, right?
- 36:06SPEAKER_01: Go to the one on the other side of town and get it.
- 36:09SPEAKER_01: Right.
- 36:09SPEAKER_01: So there was no Chick-fil-A sauce, and then my wife got their uns their unsweet iced tea, and we pull away, and she goes to take a drink, and it has zero ice in it.
- 36:22SPEAKER_01: I was like, Oh, that's the thing.
- 36:24SPEAKER_01: Normally, Chick-fil-A is spot on.
- 36:26SPEAKER_01: Normally, right?
- 36:28SPEAKER_01: Normally, 99.9% of the time I go there, they're spot on, but there's an exception to every rule.
- 36:33SPEAKER_01: So, not that that derailed the trip, but it just left a kind of a foul taste in the mouth.
- 36:39SPEAKER_01: We just had a had that bad experience.
- 36:41SPEAKER_01: So we get back on the road, we're driving.
- 36:43SPEAKER_01: Come across, I see this, you know, the state highway administration signs on the side of the road will be like, you know, um exit closed ahead or accident in left lane or something like that on the side of the road to tell you something's coming up.
- 36:57SPEAKER_01: Well, this one said debris in right lane, mile marker, let's just say 220.
- 37:06SPEAKER_01: Okay.
- 37:07SPEAKER_01: So you're telling me up ahead of me, there's some debris in the right lane.
- 37:12SPEAKER_01: I was at like mile marker like 190.
- 37:15SPEAKER_01: So you're telling me 30 miles from now, there's some debris.
- 37:20SPEAKER_01: But if we were to rewind this event back to when the debris happened, let's walk through this.
- 37:25SPEAKER_01: Something happens at mile marker 220 and leaves debris in the right lane.
- 37:30SPEAKER_01: So you have two choices.
- 37:32SPEAKER_01: You can remove the debris, clean it up, or you can place a call, tell somebody that they need to go get a highway sign, drive it 30 miles down the road, turn it on, and type this message into it because I have no idea when we're gonna get to clean up this debris.
- 37:50SPEAKER_01: And they chose option B.
- 37:52SPEAKER_01: They chose to wait, go get a sign, drive 30 miles down the road, put us put the sign up that says 30 miles ahead of you.
- 37:58SPEAKER_01: There is some debris.
- 38:00SPEAKER_01: Okay, thank you.
- 38:02SPEAKER_01: Now, having seen that sign, when I got to mile marker 220, I wanted to see the shit out of some debris.
- 38:08SPEAKER_01: Yeah, you know what?
- 38:10SPEAKER_01: There was none.
- 38:11SPEAKER_04: There was a shoe.
- 38:12SPEAKER_01: There wasn't even a shoe, Todd.
- 38:14SPEAKER_01: There was absolutely nothing.
- 38:17SPEAKER_01: So they obviously forgot that 30 miles down the road they left this sign running saying that there was debris up there.
- 38:23SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 38:23SPEAKER_01: So again, that didn't derail the trip, but I'm like, you guys should just clean the freaking debris up to begin with, and that wouldn't be.
- 38:29SPEAKER_02: Why would they put the sign so far away?
- 38:32SPEAKER_02: Come on after that sign.
- 38:33SPEAKER_01: Then you're in you're you're in it, you're not in the know.
- 38:36SPEAKER_01: Then yeah, then you're shocked.
- 38:37SPEAKER_01: You're not in the know, okay?
- 38:40SPEAKER_01: Again, I don't make the rules, I just made an observation as I was driving.
- 38:46SPEAKER_01: Here's where it gets interesting.
- 38:48SPEAKER_01: You know, they got the easy pass lane.
- 38:52SPEAKER_01: The high speed easy pass lane.
- 38:54SPEAKER_03: Mm-hmm.
- 38:55SPEAKER_01: And Vale, what is the purpose of the high speed easy pass lane?
- 38:58SPEAKER_02: That is for people to pay to go in that lane so they can drive faster than the regular lanes to get where they're going and not have to worry about slow people and traffic and trucks, typically.
- 39:12SPEAKER_01: Right.
- 39:14SPEAKER_02: That didn't happen to you.
- 39:16SPEAKER_02: I guess it's not gonna happen.
- 39:18SPEAKER_01: So I I get in the lane, force a habit, I get in the I get in the easy pass lane, start going fast, and then I immediately slow down.
- 39:30SPEAKER_01: There is there's a guy in a pickup truck, not doing anywhere near the speed limit.
- 39:37SPEAKER_01: He's not over, he's well under the speed limit, again, in the paid easy pass lane.
- 39:43SPEAKER_01: And I started thinking about your wife giving and her giving him people the business.
- 39:49SPEAKER_01: And I said, you know what?
- 39:50SPEAKER_01: I have two choices.
- 39:52SPEAKER_01: I can I can continue to drive behind this jackass at the speed of slow, or this particular one had had multiple exit and entry points in the easy pass for more people to get in or to get out, and I looked into the free lanes, right?
- 40:08SPEAKER_01: The ones you can drive in for free, and people were flying in those.
- 40:13SPEAKER_01: I was like, that's it.
- 40:14SPEAKER_01: So I bailed out of the easy pass lane, saved myself like a dollar thirty.
- 40:21SPEAKER_01: Congratulations, thank you, Mr.
- 40:22SPEAKER_01: Pickup Truckman, and blew by him, left him in my rearview mirror, he was gone.
- 40:26SPEAKER_01: I'm starting to learn.
- 40:28SPEAKER_01: Don't just stay in the easy pass and get pissed off, Lomix.
- 40:30SPEAKER_01: Bail out if you can, live to fight another day.
- 40:33SPEAKER_01: That's not the worst of it, though.
- 40:35SPEAKER_01: Driving down a little bit further, and I guess what they teach people nowadays in driver's ed is when you need to change lanes, all you need to do is turn the wheel.
- 40:51SPEAKER_01: That's all you need to do.
- 40:53SPEAKER_01: You don't have to look for a traffic, you don't have to put your turn signal on.
- 40:58SPEAKER_01: If you're in the left lane and you need to get in the right lane, or you're in the right lane, you need to get into the left lane, or you're in the middle lane, and you want to just pick a side and go either way, you just go.
- 41:07SPEAKER_01: That's all it takes.
- 41:09SPEAKER_01: So here we go, driving up, and lo and behold, I am, I am my the hood of my car is parallel with the back seat of this guy's car.
- 41:18SPEAKER_01: So I'm I'm I'm well within we're well within the zone of each other, right?
- 41:23SPEAKER_01: We're we're basically right next to each other.
- 41:26SPEAKER_01: And he decides he needs to be in my lane.
- 41:30SPEAKER_01: And all he does is start coming over.
- 41:34SPEAKER_01: So had to had to lay on the horn, had to give him the business a little bit, and then the rest of the trip, this had me thinking, why in today's technology can't we make drivers when they go to renew their license do some kind of virtual reality test where you have to get in a in like a simulated car and prove that you know what the fuck you're doing behind the wheel of a car?
- 41:59SPEAKER_01: That's wrong with passing.
- 42:01SPEAKER_01: That's fine, get them off the road.
- 42:03SPEAKER_01: Drive, drive Uber Uber business up.
- 42:05SPEAKER_01: I don't care, but you should be able to go in there and this and this this device, this test should throw everything at you.
- 42:12SPEAKER_01: It should throw you're in the left lane, all of a sudden there's an accident, you got to get over to the right, and you have a minute's notice to do something.
- 42:19SPEAKER_01: How do you react?
- 42:20SPEAKER_01: Right?
- 42:20SPEAKER_01: And when you when you just jerk the wheel and you knock four video cars off the rail, that's it.
- 42:25SPEAKER_01: You're done.
- 42:25SPEAKER_01: Give me your license.
- 42:26SPEAKER_01: You failed.
- 42:28SPEAKER_02: Not gonna happen, Lummox.
- 42:30SPEAKER_01: I know I know it's not gonna happen, but we really need that.
- 42:34SPEAKER_01: Yeah, it's not gonna happen.
- 42:36SPEAKER_01: No, we really need that.
- 42:37SPEAKER_04: You could put the duh in that simulation and I sit right next to them on the undo their seatbelt.
- 42:43SPEAKER_04: And when they you could do that, get get really close.
- 42:48SPEAKER_02: Yeah, so I I smash up against the screen.
- 42:51SPEAKER_02: Smash break my face almost.
- 42:56SPEAKER_04: I don't think anyone knows the story.
- 42:57SPEAKER_04: Maybe we should.
- 42:59SPEAKER_04: We told that story.
- 43:00SPEAKER_04: We told that story.
- 43:00SPEAKER_04: I'm saying a little flashback for that one.
- 43:04SPEAKER_02: Yeah, we did tell that story.
- 43:07SPEAKER_01: So I actually have two comical things about that trip.
- 43:10SPEAKER_01: They weren't, you know, bad things, but I'd failed.
- 43:14SPEAKER_01: Did you know that it's okay now to put video slot machines in a royal farms in Virginia?
- 43:21SPEAKER_01: No.
- 43:22SPEAKER_03: But I like it.
- 43:24SPEAKER_01: We pull over to get gas, get a drink, and use the bathroom.
- 43:27SPEAKER_01: And I walk in, and this particular one, as soon as you walk in, you're walking in and you're like facing the chicken counter, okay?
- 43:35SPEAKER_01: And off to the left is the cashier, and off to the right used to be where the sodas were and the ATM machine was.
- 43:44SPEAKER_01: Right.
- 43:44SPEAKER_01: But now it's like mini Vegas.
- 43:48SPEAKER_01: You I walked in and had four video casino machines sitting there.
- 43:53SPEAKER_01: Guys are sitting in the chairs, like you see them in Vegas, lounged back, hitting the button, hitting the spins, right?
- 43:59SPEAKER_01: I'm like, When the hell did this happen?
- 44:01SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 44:02SPEAKER_01: So I'm not complaining.
- 44:05SPEAKER_01: It just caught me off guard.
- 44:06SPEAKER_01: I didn't know that that was because it wasn't that way last time I went through there.
- 44:10SPEAKER_01: And the last one was we passed a Hardy's and they had a new menu on the billboard that they were advertising.
- 44:18SPEAKER_01: I have never seen this item advertised at any fast food place in my entire life.
- 44:26SPEAKER_01: This is the first time I've ever seen this.
- 44:30SPEAKER_01: No, because I've seen that.
- 44:32SPEAKER_01: I've seen that on the billboard.
- 44:35SPEAKER_01: This was at the Hardee's.
- 44:37SPEAKER_01: This was two for five dollars fried baloney biscuits.
- 44:44SPEAKER_01: What?
- 44:45SPEAKER_01: It's on the secret menu, and they're advertising that.
- 44:49SPEAKER_01: Advertised on the main billboard outside of the Hardee's.
- 44:53SPEAKER_01: Two for five fried bologna biscuits.
- 44:56SPEAKER_01: What does it taste like?
- 44:59SPEAKER_01: Did you get them?
- 45:00SPEAKER_01: No.
- 45:00SPEAKER_01: Come on, Lummox.
- 45:05SPEAKER_01: If you see that, you gotta stop and get one.
- 45:07SPEAKER_04: Yes.
- 45:08SPEAKER_01: I will, I will do it.
- 45:09SPEAKER_01: I was caught off guard.
- 45:10SPEAKER_01: I was driving past it, doing a double take.
- 45:12SPEAKER_01: I was like, did that just say what I thought it said?
- 45:15SPEAKER_01: So I will I will now put that on my list.
- 45:18SPEAKER_01: I you can audit me on that one, Vale.
- 45:21SPEAKER_01: That is that is my job.
- 45:22SPEAKER_01: When I pass that hardy, I've always seen it at this one particular hardy's.
- 45:26SPEAKER_01: I know where it is.
- 45:27SPEAKER_01: So if I pass when I pass that harde's again, I will go in and ask them if it's not advertised, if they still have the fried bologna biscuit special.
- 45:35SPEAKER_01: Just that Hardy's.
- 45:36SPEAKER_02: Someone there must have been like, man, we got all this bologna.
- 45:38SPEAKER_02: What are we gonna do with it?
- 45:41SPEAKER_01: Did he bring bologna in for his lunch and didn't want it?
- 45:46SPEAKER_01: So he's trying to he's trying to make an extra buck.
- 45:49SPEAKER_04: We got this grade B baloney that we got from the government.
- 45:53SPEAKER_04: We need to get rid of it.
- 45:54SPEAKER_01: Right, it's not even Oscar, it doesn't have a name, it's not even Oscar Meyer.
- 45:58SPEAKER_04: Yeah, right.
- 45:59SPEAKER_01: Baloney biscuits.
- 46:00SPEAKER_04: Yeah, what what comes in the big package at your work?
- 46:03SPEAKER_04: Butter or mayonnaise?
- 46:04SPEAKER_04: No, mayonnaise just says mayonnaise.
- 46:07SPEAKER_04: Comes in a big package, just baloney.
- 46:12SPEAKER_01: All right, I will I will put that on my list next time I drive past that particular Hardee's, I will I will check on it.
- 46:20SPEAKER_03: Uh yeah.
- 46:21SPEAKER_01: And report back.
- 46:22SPEAKER_01: I will report back.
- 46:24SPEAKER_02: No, but I forgot to mention, Todd, you're you know, on the uh National Whatever Day, you know your uh day is coming up.
- 46:33SPEAKER_02: September 18th.
- 46:35SPEAKER_02: Talk like a pirate day.
- 46:37SPEAKER_02: Yes, so so you have to uh you know listen to the episode.
- 46:45SPEAKER_02: Todd said that it started in the exact quote here, I wrote it down.
- 46:51SPEAKER_02: The 19th century 95.
- 46:55SPEAKER_02: You know, what he said.
- 46:57SPEAKER_03: On a racquetball court.
- 46:59SPEAKER_02: In the 19th century?
- 47:01SPEAKER_02: Yeah, 19th century, 95 on a racquetball court.
- 47:05SPEAKER_02: So I I was as I was driving down the road listening to this, I'm trying to pay attention to driving, and I started laughing.
- 47:12SPEAKER_02: I was like, how many racquetball courts do you think were around in uh what year would that be?
- 47:17SPEAKER_02: 1895?
- 47:18SPEAKER_02: Yeah, eight eighteen ninety-five.
- 47:20SPEAKER_02: So no cars, no roads.
- 47:23SPEAKER_02: But they got racquetball courts, and they talk like a pirate.
- 47:31SPEAKER_04: The 19th century?
- 47:33SPEAKER_02: Yeah, 19th century, 95.
- 47:36SPEAKER_04: Okay.
- 47:37SPEAKER_04: Uh everyone knew it was 1995, though.
- 47:41SPEAKER_01: No, they didn't.
- 47:42SPEAKER_01: You you're the one who said it.
- 47:43SPEAKER_01: Nobody knows what you're talking about.
- 47:46SPEAKER_02: Uh I didn't I didn't catch that when we did the actual episode, but listening back maybe laugh laugh on that one.
- 47:52SPEAKER_02: So again, listeners, that's the uh national uh whatever day.
- 47:57SPEAKER_01: National whatever days.
- 47:58SPEAKER_01: We just had the uh what do we just have?
- 48:01SPEAKER_01: We had national, we had we had World Beer Day, I think we just had.
- 48:04SPEAKER_01: I think we just had national cheese, pizza, and bacon day.
- 48:08SPEAKER_02: Yes, we did.
- 48:09SPEAKER_02: But you know, coming up is uh Greasy Food Day comes up next month.
- 48:13SPEAKER_01: Greasy Food Day?
- 48:14SPEAKER_01: Okay.
- 48:15SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 48:16SPEAKER_02: So when is ready for that day?
- 48:18SPEAKER_01: When's Talk Like a Pirate Day?
- 48:19SPEAKER_01: He said it's the 18th, December 18th.
- 48:22SPEAKER_01: September 18th.
- 48:23SPEAKER_01: All right.
- 48:24SPEAKER_01: Keep your eye out for that, Todd.
- 48:25SPEAKER_02: So that would be the Todd Father's favorite day.
- 48:27SPEAKER_02: Talk like a pirate day.
- 48:29SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 48:31SPEAKER_02: We wouldn't let them have National Bootlegger Day.
- 48:33SPEAKER_01: Todd, give us your best pirate.
- 48:35SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 48:36SPEAKER_02: Got it on my radar.
- 48:43SPEAKER_01: That's a racket ball court.
- 48:47SPEAKER_01: In 1885.
- 48:49SPEAKER_01: In the 19th of the 95s.
- 48:56SPEAKER_01: That's what he said exactly.
- 48:59SPEAKER_01: I had Blackbeard down, four sets to one.
- 49:06SPEAKER_02: Oh, Lord.
- 49:08SPEAKER_02: Too funny.
- 49:10SPEAKER_02: That's a good one.
- 49:11SPEAKER_02: Yeah, that was pretty funny.
- 49:14SPEAKER_02: Too funny on that one.
- 49:16SPEAKER_02: So there's my audits there.
- 49:17SPEAKER_02: There's what I had to bring up.
- 49:19SPEAKER_02: I'm sure there's plenty more that we could talk about.
- 49:23SPEAKER_01: Well, there was one I just saw the other day.
- 49:26SPEAKER_01: I think it was like National When Pigs Couldn't Fly Day.
- 49:29SPEAKER_01: I'm like, they're now they're just getting carried away.
- 49:34SPEAKER_04: Just have something to say.
- 49:36SPEAKER_01: Well, if you look if you there, if you go on, there's websites out there that will tell you what every day is.
- 49:41SPEAKER_01: Like you pick a day, and it was there's like 14 different things on a given day.
- 49:46SPEAKER_01: And then it's also part of like national something, something week.
- 49:50SPEAKER_01: So it's not just a day, there's also like you know, National Beer Week.
- 49:53SPEAKER_01: And during National Beer Week is is National Pirate Day, National Pigs Fly Day, but it's all during National Beer Week, which is then part of you know, like National Hot Dog Month.
- 50:01SPEAKER_01: It's crazy.
- 50:02SPEAKER_01: It's like the people just crazy.
- 50:04SPEAKER_04: I was crazy once.
- 50:05SPEAKER_01: You were, I've heard that before, Todd me in a room.
- 50:08SPEAKER_01: And we are going to lock you in that room.
- 50:10SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 50:11SPEAKER_01: We're gonna lock you in that room and throw you the key, and you can talk like a pirate forever until the next 1995s.
- 50:21SPEAKER_02: 1995s.
- 50:23SPEAKER_02: So I was in the pharmacy picking up some uh prescriptions.
- 50:28SPEAKER_02: Right?
- 50:29SPEAKER_02: And of course, there's always a line in these pharmacies.
- 50:32SPEAKER_02: But what I don't figure out is every time I'm in a line at the pharmacy, the people in front of me, right, I had the app, this was CVS, I was in a target that had a CVS in it.
- 50:48SPEAKER_02: So of course there's a huge line.
- 50:51SPEAKER_02: And I have the CVS app, it tells me when my prescription's ready, and then I go to the store to get it.
- 50:57SPEAKER_02: What I can't figure out is how all these people in line in front of me get up to the counter.
- 51:03SPEAKER_02: And it seems like every one of them, they have them looking around, you know, because there's like you'd think they'd have a better system than the uh 500,000 bags that they have everywhere and all these different bins.
- 51:16SPEAKER_02: They don't have a better system for this yet, you know?
- 51:19SPEAKER_02: And they're looking at this bin, then they walk over and look in this bin, this bin, then they look on the computer again, then they're after like five minutes, they're like, Oh yeah, we haven't we haven't uh processed that one yet.
- 51:29SPEAKER_02: I'm like, really?
- 51:31SPEAKER_02: No, your system doesn't or you didn't look.
- 51:34SPEAKER_02: And they're like, uh, well, what do I need to do now?
- 51:38SPEAKER_02: Oh well, we'll fill it.
- 51:39SPEAKER_02: You need to wait 15 minutes.
- 51:41SPEAKER_02: All right.
- 51:42SPEAKER_02: So that person that guy leaves, and then the next one gets up there, same exact thing.
- 51:47SPEAKER_02: Her prescription's not ready yet.
- 51:49SPEAKER_02: 15 minutes.
- 51:50SPEAKER_02: I'm like, oh my god, these people.
- 51:53SPEAKER_02: So thank goodness, finally, after 25 minutes of me waiting behind this these people online, that every one of them had a problem.
- 52:01SPEAKER_02: I get up there and she's like, Oh, yeah, we have yours right here.
- 52:04SPEAKER_02: I'm like, Yeah, why didn't anybody use the app?
- 52:07SPEAKER_02: I don't understand how hard it is to use an app to go pick up your stuff.
- 52:13SPEAKER_02: So that's my story on I hate picking up prescriptions because everywhere you go is awesome.
- 52:18SPEAKER_01: I hate I hate prescriptions, period.
- 52:20SPEAKER_01: So I went, I had I had to get a prescription for for something, and I go and you know, they farm, they called in.
- 52:28SPEAKER_01: I go up there, of course.
- 52:29SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I do the same thing.
- 52:30SPEAKER_01: I go to CBS and they target, and you stand there, and again, like you're waving your arms.
- 52:36SPEAKER_01: Hello, I'm over here.
- 52:37SPEAKER_01: Would anybody like to come wait on me?
- 52:39SPEAKER_01: And they're all just sitting back there playing with their pills and doing shit, right?
- 52:42SPEAKER_01: I'm like, hello, yelling.
- 52:44SPEAKER_01: Finally, somebody comes over.
- 52:45SPEAKER_01: It's like they should work at Waffle House, too.
- 52:47SPEAKER_01: And they're like, I have one prescription, you know, you give me a date of birth, whatever, your last name.
- 52:53SPEAKER_01: And for this one particular one, I mean, it was like$200 with insurance.
- 52:58SPEAKER_01: I was like, that's that's ludicrous.
- 53:00SPEAKER_01: So I said, hold on one, hold on one second.
- 53:02SPEAKER_01: So I pulled up my phone, I downloaded the Good RX app.
- 53:06SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I I joined up, I signed, I did all this stuff.
- 53:11SPEAKER_01: Took me like you know, three or four minutes to get it up.
- 53:13SPEAKER_01: I looked up my prescription that I was getting, and good RX had a coupon usable at a CVS, and it was like$22.
- 53:22SPEAKER_01: I was like, tell you what, we're not gonna play that game with the insurance company.
- 53:27SPEAKER_01: You can take that back.
- 53:28SPEAKER_01: Here's my$22 coupon usable at CVS.
- 53:31SPEAKER_01: Let's just use that.
- 53:32SPEAKER_01: Like, that's a great idea.
- 53:33SPEAKER_01: We should use that.
- 53:34SPEAKER_01: Like, I know it is.
- 53:36SPEAKER_02: So I used to do that with uh some of the sometimes that good rx does have better, uh better options.
- 53:42SPEAKER_02: I gotta look at that.
- 53:43SPEAKER_02: But yeah, yeah.
- 53:44SPEAKER_02: And they don't tell you that either.
- 53:45SPEAKER_01: No.
- 53:46SPEAKER_01: I mean if if I go up there and they're like, yeah, that prescription's gonna be like$17.
- 53:50SPEAKER_01: I don't bother looking at good RX.
- 53:51SPEAKER_01: I maybe I could, and maybe I save another couple bucks, but I don't, but for$200, I'm like, no, let me check.
- 53:56SPEAKER_01: Hold on here.
- 53:57SPEAKER_01: I'm like, how is that even possible?
- 53:58SPEAKER_01: I'm paying my paying my health insurance, and you want to still charge me$200 for free.
- 54:04SPEAKER_01: I'm in the free lane.
- 54:06SPEAKER_01: I didn't even pay for this.
- 54:07SPEAKER_01: I'm in the free lane, and you're giving me a coupon for$22 versus$200, and it cost me nothing.
- 54:13SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 54:15SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 54:16SPEAKER_02: But it still amazes me that they have 500 bags and they got like, you know, I don't know, 50 bins, whatever it is.
- 54:24SPEAKER_02: And if it's not in one bin, then they go over and they start looking in these other bins.
- 54:28SPEAKER_02: I'm like, you know, if you're gonna have them by like last name or whatever per bin or whatever, there's still like 10-15 other bins that they go look in.
- 54:37SPEAKER_02: I'm like, what what are in those bins?
- 54:40SPEAKER_01: They they haven't, those are the pre-bins.
- 54:43SPEAKER_01: Those bins haven't made it to your other bins.
- 54:47SPEAKER_01: I'm like, no one's no one's looked at this and said, This is ridiculous.
- 54:53SPEAKER_01: Oh, and I I love when you go there, there's like 10 million filled prescriptions waiting in bags.
- 55:00SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I was like, didn't people forget to come pick their shit up?
- 55:04SPEAKER_01: Yeah, there's not that many people in this town.
- 55:06SPEAKER_01: How do you have everybody in front of me?
- 55:08SPEAKER_01: Their stuff wasn't ready yet.
- 55:10SPEAKER_01: There wasn't ready, but there's 10 million brown paper bags with a staple in them sitting behind you.
- 55:16SPEAKER_01: But no, those aren't yours.
- 55:18SPEAKER_01: Those are those for the other people.
- 55:19SPEAKER_01: What other people?
- 55:23SPEAKER_02: People guess not coming to pick them up.
- 55:25SPEAKER_02: I don't know.
- 55:28SPEAKER_04: They're just filling back there, just throwing in pills left and right.
- 55:31SPEAKER_04: All right, another bag, put it in the bin.
- 55:34SPEAKER_04: Put this one in the post bin, pre-post bin.
- 55:38SPEAKER_01: I'm sorry, sir.
- 55:38SPEAKER_01: Yours is already.
- 55:39SPEAKER_01: Let me check the blue bin.
- 55:40SPEAKER_01: You're gonna have to wait another 15 minutes, meanwhile, it's sitting in the red bin.
- 55:44SPEAKER_01: And it used to be, at least in a target, if they're like it'd be 15 minutes, you can be like, okay, and you walk back to the video game section and you can at least play the demo uh Mario Kart or something on the Nintendo Switch.
- 55:56SPEAKER_01: They don't have that out anymore.
- 55:57SPEAKER_01: So now you're like really bored.
- 55:59SPEAKER_01: You used to be able to go do something.
- 56:02SPEAKER_01: Now you can't even do that.
- 56:03SPEAKER_02: Now you can't even do that.
- 56:06SPEAKER_02: Uh I looked in the uh Target too while I was there.
- 56:08SPEAKER_02: I didn't see any uh Cadbury uh Halloween eggs.
- 56:15SPEAKER_01: They they should be out by now.
- 56:17SPEAKER_02: You would think, but the Cadbury eggs aren't in there.
- 56:20SPEAKER_02: I don't I didn't see them anywhere.
- 56:23SPEAKER_02: It's hard to even find the monster cereals out.
- 56:26SPEAKER_01: I have not found any monster cereals, have you?
- 56:29SPEAKER_02: Yeah, one my one grocery store has them, that's it.
- 56:32SPEAKER_02: But all the other grocery stores I've been in don't have them, and Target didn't have them.
- 56:36SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I haven't seen any in the Target.
- 56:38SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 56:40SPEAKER_04: No booberry.
- 56:41SPEAKER_01: No boo berry.
- 56:42SPEAKER_01: They better get they better get on that shit.
- 56:43SPEAKER_01: It's a seasonal.
- 56:44SPEAKER_01: It's a seasonal dish.
- 56:46SPEAKER_04: It's a seasonal poo.
- 56:49SPEAKER_01: Blue poo.
- 56:50SPEAKER_02: I got enough other Halloween candy out, though.
- 56:53SPEAKER_01: All right, Todd, anything else for open mic night tonight?
- 56:58SPEAKER_04: Do you know you know what bothers me?
- 57:00SPEAKER_04: You know those bikers that are in the sit-down bikes, not a regular bike.
- 57:05SPEAKER_04: First of all, bikers on the road, the highway, just they're a pain in the ass, and especially when they're in a mob of them.
- 57:11SPEAKER_04: I'm like, get the hell out of the way.
- 57:13SPEAKER_04: But the ones that are in the sit-down bikes with the mirrors and the flags, I'm like, what?
- 57:19SPEAKER_04: You look like an idiot.
- 57:20SPEAKER_04: Why are you in that thing?
- 57:22SPEAKER_04: You know what I'm talking about?
- 57:23SPEAKER_04: The bike when you sit down and you pedal, that's all you get.
- 57:28SPEAKER_04: They're like three inches off the ground.
- 57:32SPEAKER_04: Yeah, they bother me.
- 57:34SPEAKER_02: I don't know why they're on the bike bikers bother me too.
- 57:37SPEAKER_02: I mean, look, you know, I understand that you want to get your exercise in and ride your bike or whatever, but I'm telling you, the other day I had the same thing.
- 57:46SPEAKER_02: I'm in my lane sitting at a red light.
- 57:49SPEAKER_02: This biker comes all the way over from the left and puts his bike between me and the car in front of me.
- 57:57SPEAKER_02: I'm like, what the hell?
- 57:59SPEAKER_02: He's gonna the light turns green, and now I'm stuck behind this guy.
- 58:03SPEAKER_02: Everybody's honking.
- 58:05SPEAKER_02: He and he and he refuses to move, right?
- 58:08SPEAKER_02: They get over like more towards the right, uh maybe like the shoulder, so we could pass him.
- 58:14SPEAKER_02: Nope.
- 58:14SPEAKER_02: Stays in that lane.
- 58:16SPEAKER_02: I can't get over because all the lane, all the cars in the lane next to me are flying by me.
- 58:21SPEAKER_02: I'm like, so I had to stay behind this guy for like a half a mile, dude, going like 10 miles an hour.
- 58:27SPEAKER_02: Everybody behind me, and then they would go and they wouldn't let me over.
- 58:31SPEAKER_02: And I was like, this is only me with this happen to miserable.
- 58:35SPEAKER_02: I was so mad, but those people they just pissed me off because I'm like, look, you're holding up, get over the shoulder.
- 58:40SPEAKER_02: There's a huge shoulder there that you can ride your bike on.
- 58:42SPEAKER_02: You don't need to be in this this lane causing accidents.
- 58:47SPEAKER_01: Well, they'll what's gonna happen next is that group of bikers is gonna get an easy pass lane in front of me next time.
- 58:53SPEAKER_02: Yeah, yeah.
- 58:54SPEAKER_02: Well, I also watched an accident with these motorcycle morons that drive up and like, you know, when there's like a backup, right?
- 59:02SPEAKER_02: And they drive between the cars.
- 59:04SPEAKER_02: Well, why don't you go over on the shoulder and just drive up the shoulder?
- 59:06SPEAKER_02: No, I'm gonna drive between.
- 59:08SPEAKER_02: So they're flying, and it's not like they're going like, you know, 10, 15 miles an hour.
- 59:14SPEAKER_02: They're going like 30, 40 miles an hour, flying up between the cars, and I watch one car farther up go to get over to the other from the slow lane to the fast lane and cut off the bikes.
- 59:24SPEAKER_02: And uh like the one biker had to like, you know, he like basically skidded out.
- 59:30SPEAKER_02: I was like, you dumbass.
- 59:32SPEAKER_02: I was like, why why would you do that?
- 59:35SPEAKER_02: But yeah, I guess it's just me.
- 59:36SPEAKER_02: I'm not a motorcycle person, but if I was, I don't think I'd be flying up between the cars.
- 59:41SPEAKER_01: Right.
- 59:41SPEAKER_01: If I was, I wouldn't be doing stuff to kill myself on purpose.
- 59:47SPEAKER_02: Yeah, well, I don't know, but Todd got me off on that tangent.
- 59:51SPEAKER_02: Sorry, listeners.
- 59:54SPEAKER_04: So then the the bike guy, so the Duchess and I went on this late cruise the other day, a couple weekends ago, and we're pulling into the cruise and getting ready to dock.
- 1:00:05SPEAKER_04: And I see this idiot has a bike, like pedal thing, pontoon boat thing.
- 1:00:11SPEAKER_04: So he's pedaling the thing, and he's like kind of steering with a he's got a paddle in the back, he's steering, so he's pedaling.
- 1:00:18SPEAKER_04: I'm like, oh god, that just it just pissed me off because it reminded me of the road bike thing, right?
- 1:00:24SPEAKER_04: So I'm all I'm just like, look at that idiot, moron.
- 1:00:28SPEAKER_04: So we get we get off the boat and get to our car, and then you know, in the lake, lake communities the roads close up like really they're really close because the houses are back in the day, they don't have infrastructure to hold all these people that are going to these lake communities.
- 1:00:47SPEAKER_04: You know what I mean?
- 1:00:48SPEAKER_04: So I'm going down one of these side streets, and this idiot he's pulling the boat and taking up the whole street.
- 1:00:55SPEAKER_04: So now everyone is behind this guy, and we're uh parked behind it, and he's just pulling it on some kind of wagon wheel thing that he had, like a wagon behind it.
- 1:01:06SPEAKER_04: The same guy with the pedal thing, so pissed me off twice.
- 1:01:10SPEAKER_04: Got around him, honked at him, scared the shit out of him, and rode off.
- 1:01:15SPEAKER_04: You don't like the paddle boats?
- 1:01:17SPEAKER_04: Not the paddle boats.
- 1:01:18SPEAKER_04: This was a pedal, uh, like a pedaling thing where he's already stopped uh sitting up and he's not a pedal boat.
- 1:01:27SPEAKER_04: That's different.
- 1:01:29SPEAKER_04: This is like an exercise thing for those idiots that are on the bikes.
- 1:01:34SPEAKER_01: Well, well, speaking of pedaling, have you seen like the the group pedaling tour bus things that go around like cities and bar hopping?
- 1:01:47SPEAKER_01: I don't want to go in that and pedal to get to the next bar.
- 1:01:50SPEAKER_01: Why don't I want to exercise to get to the next bar?
- 1:01:53SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 1:01:53SPEAKER_01: And knowing you, Todd, you would fake pedal and make the rest of it.
- 1:01:56SPEAKER_01: I do do all the work.
- 1:01:58SPEAKER_01: I I know that about you.
- 1:01:59SPEAKER_02: I was gonna say there's no way he's pedaling ever.
- 1:02:02SPEAKER_04: No, I know he's not.
- 1:02:04SPEAKER_04: I I just move around and to pretend like I am.
- 1:02:06SPEAKER_04: I just like got my feet up.
- 1:02:09SPEAKER_04: Yeah, with his beer.
- 1:02:11SPEAKER_04: Drinking, yeah.
- 1:02:12SPEAKER_04: That's why I like him.
- 1:02:14SPEAKER_04: You gotta go with a lot of people though.
- 1:02:16SPEAKER_04: You go by yourself or one other person, and yeah, you're at you're screwed.
- 1:02:20SPEAKER_01: Right, but there's no way I'd be doing it, especially with you.
- 1:02:23SPEAKER_01: I'm never doing that with you.
- 1:02:24SPEAKER_04: Yeah, they have uh they have them in the on the lakes too, like their little um huts and their circle ones.
- 1:02:30SPEAKER_04: And I don't know how that works, too.
- 1:02:32SPEAKER_04: Everyone's on a circle and they're pedaling and very physics, I guess.
- 1:02:37SPEAKER_04: Physics.
- 1:02:38SPEAKER_04: Yay, physics.
- 1:02:40SPEAKER_01: The physics you're talking, you weren't you're now you're gonna talk about physics, huh, Todd?
- 1:02:43SPEAKER_04: No, I'm just saying that that's how it works.
- 1:02:45SPEAKER_04: I don't know.
- 1:02:45SPEAKER_04: The chains are but you're in a circle pedaling.
- 1:02:49SPEAKER_01: Yeah, well, you do know that physics was invented in the 19th of the 95 on a racquetball court.
- 1:02:55SPEAKER_01: That's when physics was invented.
- 1:02:57SPEAKER_02: Yeah, that's just you're riding your horse down the middle of the road, you know, and uh you got farmers and people just throwing their uh waste into the streets, and next thing you know, there's a plexiglass racquetball court.
- 1:03:13SPEAKER_01: That's in that's in the good part of town.
- 1:03:15SPEAKER_02: Yeah, right.
- 1:03:16SPEAKER_02: With wood floors painted.
- 1:03:21SPEAKER_01: Night lights to illuminate for night play.
- 1:03:24SPEAKER_01: LED lights.
- 1:03:26SPEAKER_01: LED lights back in the back in the 1800s, yeah, there's LED lights.
- 1:03:31SPEAKER_02: On the racquetball courts.
- 1:03:33SPEAKER_01: Right.
- 1:03:35SPEAKER_01: Uh all right, Todd.
- 1:03:37SPEAKER_01: Anything else you want to talk about with uh bikes and peddlings and being lazy?
- 1:03:43SPEAKER_04: No, I think that was it.
- 1:03:45SPEAKER_04: I liked uh how Vale got us to audit there.
- 1:03:48SPEAKER_04: And of course, you have to have their easy pass fast food story, of course.
- 1:03:54SPEAKER_04: And Waffle House always comes up.
- 1:03:57SPEAKER_04: It seems to haunt me.
- 1:03:58SPEAKER_04: Yeah, and then I'm glad the duck finally got his dog back.
- 1:04:03SPEAKER_04: That was a pretty interesting night.
- 1:04:06SPEAKER_04: Angerenade dog flopping.
- 1:04:09SPEAKER_01: Yes, I'm I'm happy that the duh hung out with the duck and the dog got rescued.
- 1:04:13SPEAKER_04: Right.
- 1:04:14SPEAKER_04: So, with that being said, adios, the Todd is gone.
