- 0:32Speaker 3: weird things happening there. It's a really good show. Watch it.
- 0:35Speaker 3: I do watch it.
- 0:36Speaker 1: I've seen that on my guide, Scariest House.
- 0:39Speaker 3: It's a fun one.
- 0:39Speaker 2: I never watched it. I thought it was just a
- 0:41Speaker 2: really bad home.
- 0:42Speaker 1: No, no.
- 0:43Speaker 2: Like a big fixer-upper.
- 0:44Speaker 3: No, it's got a history, and the house is usually

- 0:57Speaker 1: this Addams Family mess. Yes.
- 0:59Speaker 2: Because we're not sure. Because I think, first of all,
- 1:02Speaker 2: you're more right than I am. But Westfield, New Jersey. Yes.
- 1:07Speaker 1: There's a home associated with the Addams Family.
- 1:10Speaker 3: Charles Addams. Thank you, 201. Charles Addams grew up in
- 1:14Speaker 3: Westfield on Elm Street. That's where they got the street
- 1:18Speaker 3: name for Nightmare on Elm Street. And the inspiration for
- 1:22Speaker 3: the television show house is Westfield, New Jersey on Elm Street.
- 1:28Speaker 3: And it's got a historical landmark next to it. So
- 1:31Speaker 3: you can actually go see the house.
- 1:33Speaker 2: And this is one of your favorite theme songs of
- 1:35Speaker 2: all time, as is mine. They're creepy and they're kooky.
- 1:54Speaker 2: Sing it. Mysterious and spooky. They're all together kooky. The
- 1:59Speaker 2: Addams Family. Now, what else about this house is fun?
- 2:02Speaker 3: Well, it was the inspiration for the TV series. And
- 2:06Speaker 3: Charles Adams didn't write a traditional novel or script. He
- 2:09Speaker 3: created a single panel macabre comic strip that started back
- 2:13Speaker 3: in August 6th of 1938.
- 2:14Speaker 1: Oh, it was a comic strip before a TV show.
- 2:17Speaker 3: So then TV producer David Levy wanted to adapt it
- 2:21Speaker 3: into a TV series in 1964. Charles Adams came on
- 2:24Speaker 3: board to name the characters. So the Adams family, Charles Adams,
- 2:29Speaker 3: he helped name Morticia, Gomez, Wednesday, Pugsley, Uncle Fester, Lurch,
- 2:32Speaker 3: and Grandmama.
- 2:33Speaker 1: What was it about the 60s and these TV show
- 2:36Speaker 1: sitcoms that were kind of like had creepy people in it?
- 2:38Speaker 2: Like, so you had Adam's family.
- 2:39Speaker 1: And then the Munsters was around the same time.
- 2:42Speaker 3: You know how it is now. Like one thing takes
- 2:44Speaker 3: off and then.
- 2:45Speaker 2: Other people try to replicate it a little bit.
- 2:48Speaker 3: Yeah. Inspires.
- 2:49Speaker 2: Interesting. All right.
- 2:50Speaker 1: Thank you so much. What do you have coming up
- 2:52Speaker 1: in the news, Christine?
