  [SPEAKER_00]: So, according to ESPN's guys, Jeremy Fowler, Adam Shepter, Jaguar signing Buster Brown, 3 year, 33 million dollar contract, 11 million dollars per year.

  [SPEAKER_00]: That is right in line with what I was expecting for Buster Brown, anywhere from like 10 to 12 I think is what I have kind of been expecting.

  [SPEAKER_00]: There was a report that maybe he could be in the $12 to $13 million price range.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Maybe that would have been the case, but so maybe this is a slight hometown discount.

  [SPEAKER_00]: I think that Buster Brown, his best fit is here in Jacksonville, like there are other schemes and other defensive coordinators who could probably use Buster Brown at a high level.

  [SPEAKER_00]: He does not have the physical attribute, attributes, excuse me, to be a high level man corner, but in a zone scheme that allows him to use his football intelligence, his technique, his physicality, and his understanding of the scheme.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Like, if he's your third corner outside behind Travis Hunter and Buster Brown, that's a good situation.

  [SPEAKER_00]: You've also got now Christian Braswell who you brought back on an exclusive rights for Agent Tender, who I think is good depth for the Jaguars.

  [SPEAKER_00]: I think he showed that during the 2025 campaign, Keith Taylor, they signed Christmas day basically and he did enough for them to want to bring him back as well at corner.

  [SPEAKER_00]: So they have a nice corner back room now.

  [SPEAKER_00]: It was missing one piece and that piece was busted around.

  [SPEAKER_00]: And look, Greg knew some probably going to hit free agency.

  [SPEAKER_00]: I think he's just going to be a better fit somewhere else.

  [SPEAKER_00]: But Buster Brown, Travis Hunter, as your top two corners, and then combination of Jari and Jones and Jordan Lewis at Nickel, that is a good spot to be in.

  [SPEAKER_00]: In my opinion, in this defense with Anthony Campani, like Dilein, things up, Buster Brown,

  [SPEAKER_00]: He plays hard, he plays smart.

  [SPEAKER_00]: And he makes a lot of plays on the football.

  [SPEAKER_00]: I mean, last year, his ball production was outstanding.

  [SPEAKER_00]: We can pull up the numbers, but how many times can you just remember him breaking on a ball, him absolutely laying out a player in the flat or a player going up for a football.

  [SPEAKER_00]: And you know, what, over 50 tackles.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, he led the SEC in an interceptions his final year at Arkansas.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Came into the league as a seventh round pick, 223 overall, not a lot of high expectations.

  [SPEAKER_00]: And he just slowly builds himself up, like he had to get on the field at times due to injuries, like Tyson Campbell injuries, different things.

  [SPEAKER_00]: I think was a little bit better in 2024, even though playing kind of in a scheme that required him to play more man coverage than he should be.

  [SPEAKER_00]: It's a cool story because of Buster Brown's ascension himself, but also because as soon as Anthony Camponele and this defensive staff came in and were able to like talk to the media, they immediately started talking up Buster Brown.

  [SPEAKER_00]: And it's kind of like, huh, that's interesting.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Didn't really expect this to be a guy they want to talk about all the time and are just jacked up and fired up about, but hey, they were and they were right.

  [SPEAKER_00]: And when Anthony Campanile all summer long was kind of talking about Buster Brown being a starting caliber player and they're just so fired up about him.

  [SPEAKER_00]: And then lo and behold, he did deal with injury at the end of training camp.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Missed the first few weeks, but got back in there and settled in pretty damn quickly and had himself a hell of a year again just so much production and a smart player.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Yes, there's going to be some times where he might get beat if he's in a one on one situation down the field, but overall a really good fit as a CB2 to Travis Hunters, CB1 again Jordan Lewis and Jari and Jones rocking inside.

  [SPEAKER_00]: That's a good deal, that's a good situation.

  [SPEAKER_00]: And $11 million for your CB2, when your CB1 is on a cost-controlled deal, and look, it's not like a second round deal, it's not like a late first round deal, Travis Hunter, his contract is, it's not nothing, but for the level of player that he is going to show that he is, as a corner back in 2026, which he showed it in 2025 at corners, well, he was a baller, so that's just awesome.

  [SPEAKER_00]: So I love to see, you know, Buster Brown's own story and then the story within the context of this team, Anthony Campanila, love in him the entire time he's been here, right?

  [SPEAKER_00]: And then I also love that, you know, no longer have a need at corner.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Could the Jaguar as ad corner in the draft?

  [SPEAKER_00]: in a draft where I feel like there are a lot of good corners that could fit their zone scheme, yes, they could absolutely still do that.

  [SPEAKER_00]: But do they feel like they are pigeon hold into having to draft a corner early on, you know, day two, early day three?

  [SPEAKER_00]: Like they could exit the 2026 NFL draft, 2026 free agency without adding a corner to this roster and being a really good spot.

  [SPEAKER_00]: So Buster Brown, three years, 33 million, when it comes to what this contract's going to look like, I would expect there to be a team out after the second year.

  [SPEAKER_00]: So, you know, it's going to be definitely locked in for 2026, 2027, and all likelihood.

  [SPEAKER_00]: You never know, like with Colvane Land and Deal, the Jaguar has actually gave themselves an out after year one.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Like the Jags could get out of the Colvane Land and Deal after 2026.

  [SPEAKER_00]: and save, I think, upwards of, like, seven, eight million dollars against the cap as a, you know, pre-June one cut.

  [SPEAKER_00]: So that could be the case, although because there's so much competition for Buster Brown or reported competition, my guess is it's more of the standard you have a team out after year two.

  [SPEAKER_00]: As far as the year one capit, 2026 capit, I'm expecting in between four and five million dollars for that 2026 capit.

  [SPEAKER_00]: The Jack Wars under Trent Balky, it was more like copy-paste, you know exactly what that number is gonna be.

  [SPEAKER_00]: They've been a little bit more all over the place in the mapping of the year one capit, and that just comes down to the size of the signing bonus and then the void years added as well at the end of the deal.

  [SPEAKER_00]: The Jaguars don't need to be cap compliant until Wednesday, March 11th at 4 p.m.

  [SPEAKER_00]: You're like, how are they executing this deal with the Buster Brown?

  [SPEAKER_00]: Well, there's gonna be subsequent moves.

  [SPEAKER_00]: There's gonna be more to come to where they get this the cap compliant and looking good moving forward.

  [SPEAKER_00]: I think bringing back Buster Brown was a really, just smart move by the jacks.

  [SPEAKER_00]: I think it'll be an improved secondary.

  [SPEAKER_00]: A lot of people talked about how bad the Jags secondary was last year.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Really, the back half of the season, the secondary was excellent.

  [SPEAKER_00]: And the biggest issue with the secondary over the back half of the season and in that playoff game against the bills, to me, it was the other starting corner back.

  [SPEAKER_00]: You didn't have Travis Hunter anymore, he was out for the season, you know, opposite
