Tropical Storm Cristobal just made its debut as the third named storm of the 2026 Atlantic hurricane season, forming far out in the northern subtropical Atlantic — no coastal threat here. It’s heading east-northeast, slowing down, and drifting away from the U.S., with forecasters predicting it’ll weaken and vanish by Thursday. Short-lived and harmless for now, Cristobal leaves us still on track for a busy season: NOAA expects 7 to 13 named storms, including a few hurricanes, through November 30.
